00:00:00
Speaker
Welcome to Awake and Bake, an educational, high vibrational, mystical, spiritual pod cast from one girl, one joint, and a journey to awaken what's inside all of us. In the words of the wise Wiz Khalifa, let's roll something and get the day started.
Solo Episode on Glamour Magic
00:00:15
Speaker
What up sluts? How are we doing? I'm so happy to be back. It's me your bitch Danny with another solo episode today. You guys today I wanted to talk a little bit about glamour magic but not in the way that I have so we have a past episode all about glamour magic. You can totally check it out if you want. I might link it in the description. I might not. We'll see if I remember but I wanted to touch on like kind of expanding upon it. So let's just say you already know what glamour magic is. You already know the basic principles of it. Now I just want to talk about it.
Cannabis-Infused Tea Benefits
00:00:41
Speaker
I literally just got off of work and I'm currently drinking this really nice cannabis infused tea. It's 100 milligrams in this tea. And it's just like, it's what like eight bucks. It's the St. Ides wild raspberry high tea cannabis infused. I don't know if it's a hybrid indica sativa, but I love it. It's potent as shit.
00:01:01
Speaker
Also, if you weren't aware when you drink your THC rather than eating it, it gets in your bloodstream and starts working a lot quicker. So hopefully by the end of this episode, I'll be feeling loosey goosey because right now I am a sweaty betty from anxiety.
Hair Confidence Journey
00:01:15
Speaker
you guys not to like be negative but people are so much nicer to me when I put myself together more especially at work okay that's kind of what got me on this whole glamour magic subject also I recently went through like a transition maybe an identity crisis I don't freaking know I was basically trying to color correct my hair last year I think you guys might all remember
00:01:34
Speaker
And it was fine. And then I moved to San Luis Obispo. And I've had a very, very hard time finding a hairstylist who understands my hair. So basically, I got to the point where it was like, just repeatedly, I kept getting these blonde highlights put in. I'm not fucking blonde. So I just kept getting blonde highlights put in being told, yeah, this is a color correction. But then it would grow out. And it would be like, hey, bitch, it looks like you need to get your hair updated. And that's not what I wanted.
00:01:57
Speaker
So I took it upon myself to ruin my hair again and box dye it the way I always have. And you know what? It's always worked for me. I'm just going to keep doing this. I feel the most confident when I have dark hair, darker hair, doesn't have to be like black, like dark, dark brown. But as long as my hair is brunette,
00:02:13
Speaker
I just feel more like myself and I feel really, really confident. I feel more naturally me. And also bitch, if you wanna bleach the shit out of your hair and that makes you feel confident, fucking do it. I was realizing I looked washed out though, okay? I looked sickly, I looked ill and people were lying to me saying because I'm a white girl with blue eyes that I should have blonde hair and it's gonna look natural. It's gonna be great. No bitch, it's not my natural hair color. It doesn't work. It makes me feel bad about myself. I felt ugly every day. I didn't feel like I had a whole sense of style. I didn't feel like, you know, the Libra in me,
00:02:40
Speaker
I need to know and really understand my sense of self and my sense of style and how I present myself. I remember specifically in high school, I knew exactly who I was, I knew exactly the vibe I brought to the table, and I kind of lost that the last couple years in terms of how I present myself literally just in terms of physically how I look, right? How am I doing my hair? How am I doing my makeup? How am I dressing? I also grew into my woman body a little bit, but we'll get into all of that in today's episode.
Impact of Appearance on Confidence
00:03:05
Speaker
So yeah, not only do I notice that at work, people are a lot nicer to me when I put myself together more, but I just have a better day when I feel more put together because I perform better. And that is science. And that sucks to say, but it doesn't have to be a bad thing. It doesn't mean that you have to beat your face to the gods every day that you have to spend hella money on a certain type of style and outfit, whatever makes you feel the best and makes you feel confident. And that's what I want to touch on a little bit.
00:03:28
Speaker
Okay, because the Libra bitch in me fucking loves fashion and glam, and just looking good and accessories. So when I'm getting ready, right, I have to set the vibe, the correct tunes, the correct background noise for me, it has to be positive vibes or something that either hypes me up or makes me laugh or puts me in a good mood.
00:03:47
Speaker
getting ready when I'm in a shit mood, honestly, like just energetically plays into how I feel.
Creating a Positive Vibe and Style Exploration
00:03:53
Speaker
It doesn't make me feel as good. I don't feel as hot. So I really like to set, you know, set the mood, set the tone, set the stage, if you will.
00:04:00
Speaker
What I have realized recently is that having a go-to easy look for me, for myself, that's just like, yeah, that's my go-to look. It helps me feel so much more confident, okay? So for me, eyebrows and lip liner. Fill in my brows. I have bushy motherfucking eyebrows, but with that, sometimes they're, and I love having bushy eyebrows. Don't get me wrong. I love my eyebrows. When I was younger, I didn't like them because the thin brow was a thing, but then it was thick brows. And then it was that square brow, like the really heavy block brows.
00:04:28
Speaker
And I've always really, really loved and appreciated having the amount of hair on my face that I do. I'm a hairy girl, okay? I get it from my mother and my dad. But yeah, I really do appreciate it. I'm not complaining about having bushy eyebrows. However, a little maintenance goes a long way.
00:04:46
Speaker
And that does not have to be a bad thing. That's not me saying, Oh, I'm ugly as fuck with my full bushy brows. Oh, no, no, honey. I make them look bushier. And I basically just play on my features that I already have that I already feel that are like unique to me. And that's what you should do, too. You should just play around with different looks. You might surprise yourself. You might be like, Wait, I'm gonna try this hairstyle, or I'm gonna try doing my makeup this way, or I'm gonna try wearing clothes that look like this. And just
00:05:11
Speaker
play around until you figure out like what makes you feel really badass or really sexy or really confident or really beautiful or really handsome. The whole point of this is that we are feeling confident from the inside out, right? So when we feel good about how we look that radiates when it makes us feel good about ourselves and energetically people can sense that okay, it's all about how you feel. If you work in an industry where you have to like work for tips or customer service,
00:05:37
Speaker
commission, anything like that. If you're working in one of those industries, just try this out, especially if it's something where you work with people all day, try it out, put yourself together, do it for like a week or two and just report back to me. I want to see if you notice a difference in your performance and the way people treat you
00:05:51
Speaker
I also started stepping more into like, what's my signature scent? Now, the reason I do that is because I just have crippling anxiety about smelling bad. And you guys, after I got COVID most recently, guys, I lost my sense of taste and smell and my smell has barely come back. Like I can only smell something for like a quick second and then it fully goes away. I get nose blind really fast to sense.
Signature Scents and Jewelry Hobby
00:06:14
Speaker
And also if it's not a strong smell, probably can't smell it. I really don't notice sense anymore. So I'm super paranoid about what if I stink?
00:06:21
Speaker
What if I smell like booty fuck booty fuck? Sorry guys. That was pretty that was pretty graphic. I apologize But what if what if I smell like booty fuck right truffle butter? I don't want to smell like that. Oh my god. I'm sorry So I've been playing around with my signature scent and also earrings So this is something that I've always known about myself. I fucking love earrings. I fucking love big dangly earrings hoop earrings
00:06:42
Speaker
I honestly think I want to start making jewelry, but not to sell. I mean, if you all want some, then totally, but I want to just start making jewelry for myself because one, I need a little hobby, a little something. Also, that's kind of why I don't want to start selling it because I want to have a hobby that I don't have to fucking monetize. I have I have decided through my own doing no one's forced me, but goddamn, every hobby I have, I end up fucking trying to monetize it. So then it almost becomes like work when people are like, what are your hobbies? Like,
00:07:08
Speaker
Awakened Bake is not a hobby, it is a lifestyle and it's also my job. So yeah, I want to start making earrings for myself because I have visions. I love big old sexy earrings and I don't want to pay a lot of money for the sexy earring thing. I want to just make myself, make my visions come to life. Basically, I'm on Pinterest getting inspiration and I want to make a lot of cannabis earrings because those are honestly kind of hard to find and I want it to look still sexy and elegant and classy because I feel like a lot of times people make them very gaudy
00:07:37
Speaker
or like super and I love I have a ton of very gaudy cannabis earrings but I want some that are like I don't know like gold and shit like that like I have one pair of like hoop earrings with a little cannabis gold plant on it super classy super simple I wear them all the time and everyone fucking loves them and I just want to like kind of keep riding that way but kind of do my own thing regardless it's really
Experimentation and Intentional Style
00:07:56
Speaker
It's just really fun to like play around with what you like, especially in when it comes to like how you present yourself. Play around with it and figure it out. Try different things. You also don't have to be someone I don't like. OK, for myself. I don't have like one set style. Some days I want to dress full on Adam Sandler vibes and put a whole look together around that. Other days I'm going fucking Barbie and putting a whole look around that. Other days I'm like Avril Lavigne. He was a skater boy all going full on.
00:08:25
Speaker
whatever fool in on that. You know what I'm saying? And then other days, I'm like, I am such a fucking housewife. And then other days, I'm like a fucking sex symbol. I don't conform to one specific style. And I don't think that you need to either. I think that's the fun of playing with it. It's all about the intention. That's what I'm realizing so much. And if I weren't playing around with my look all the time, I wouldn't have found what really works for me makes me feel confident. I also want to talk about playing up your features that you already have.
00:08:50
Speaker
I think that when people think about glamour magic or makeup in general, because when I think about glamour magic, even though I know it's not just makeup, I love makeup. And so I kind of go straight to that. And I've always really just liked how people have this negative connotation about makeup. They think if you wear makeup, it means that you're insecure, you hate yourself, you think you're ugly, duh, duh, duh, duh. Oh, contraire, bitch. I'm fucking beautiful. I am so cute without makeup on. Like I'm so pretty. I love my face not to like suck my own titty, but we do that a lot here on Awake and Bake.
00:09:21
Speaker
But I think it's really fun to play around with makeup and play up your features. So for example, my president, Brittany Broski, if you guys don't know who she is, you need to get out from that rock that you've been living under. Anyway, Brittany Broski.
00:09:36
Speaker
talks a lot, especially recently about how she used to always try to do these like fox eye, cat eye looks, but the bitch has downturned eyes. And when she started really just embracing that and doing downturned eye eye makeup, or makeup that is made like, you know, styles and shadows and liners in a way that
00:09:53
Speaker
flatters and kind of accentuates downturned eyes. She became so much more confident because that's how her eyes are shaped, right?
Accentuating Personal Features
00:10:01
Speaker
That makes perfect sense. Just play up what you already have. It's not insecurity. She's not forcing her eyes to be downturned, which, by the way, if you like to do a fierce cat eye, fox eye, and you don't have a natural shape like that,
00:10:14
Speaker
Again, that's totally fine. If it looks good on you or just makes you feel fucking confident, then you're doing it right. What I'm saying is when Britney started embracing her downturned eyes instead of trying to fight against it and play that up and accentuate that, she felt even more confident. And that's the point. We just want you to feel confident.
00:10:32
Speaker
something that I've kind of realized, like, so for Brittany Broski, right? It's her downturned eyes. For me, it's my bold brows and my lips. So I have a very small mouth, especially compared to my eyes. Not like I'm not saying like, oh, my God, I have like a doll face because I just have big fucking eyes and a small mouth. But I also got these giant motherfucking chipmunk chomper cheeks. Right. So what I like to do is really play up my brows and my lip liner.
00:10:57
Speaker
because these lips might be small, but they are cute as fuck. And so I love lining my lips with a color that is either my exact shade or just slightly darker and then filling in my bold brows. That makes me feel like I'm really embracing my personal features while still making them pop and stand out and bringing attention to them at the same time.
00:11:16
Speaker
Now let's steer a little bit away from makeup, okay? Because when it comes to outfits, I have very long legs, I have wide hips, and I have a very short torso. So recently I've started accentuating that and kind of playing with that. And it's not weird to do that. Again, I'm not hiding anything. I'm not insecure with the way I look. I'm embracing the way I look and making that the main feature of my outfit, of my look, of whatever. So I started wearing, guys, if you have wide hips and long legs, you should try those fucking flare pants,
00:11:45
Speaker
Flair jeans, flare pants in general. They, holy shit, what they do for my shape, love it, 10 out of 10, flare pants were made for me, especially for my long leggy babies.
00:11:57
Speaker
I feel like I hear so many people when they talk about like, oh, girls who wear a lot of makeup or put a lot of effort into how they look, there's this annoying fucking connotation that they fucking hate themselves and think that they're not good enough without doing all that. No, I mean, maybe some of them do, but for most of us, we're doing it because we love ourselves. We have fun doing that. And what do we talk about all the goddamn time on this podcast, you guys?
Intention in Glamour Magic
00:12:18
Speaker
We talk about intention. When you put intention behind what you wear and how you present yourself and put yourself together, all that's going to do is add more of that beautiful positive energy
00:12:27
Speaker
to your being to your aura to the way that you exist in the world. So intention is everything have fun with it and just love on yourself. That is the key you need to tell yourself you look good as fuck. Even on the days where I'm like, you know what, my eyebrows have been a little bit more even they're definitely giving cousin not sisters. Remember, honey, your eyebrows should be sisters, not twins. But mine sometimes are fucking cousins or neighbors perhaps.
00:12:51
Speaker
And on those days, I'm still like, hell, I'm still fierce. I'm still fucking cute. I'm still a bad bitch. I still have great brows. Every single time you put yourself together and do glamour magic, you need to tell yourself that you're slaying. You're slaying your honor. You look good, bitch. Pussy pop in, berry cunts, whatever they say these days. If you tell yourself you're slaying, then you shall slay. And so it is.
00:13:14
Speaker
Now in that same energy, if you tell yourself, oh my God, I'm so fucking ugly, and you feel like a fugly slut, or you feel just like a fugly monster, it doesn't mean you're gonna actually look like a fugly monster, but your energy is going to be the farthest thing from beautiful and confident. People can just really tell, and they can sense how you feel about yourself, especially if you're in a self-loathing mood, or if you're like, God, I just really hate my outfit today, or I just really hate my whatever the fuck today, or my makeup fucking sucks. Don't do that.
00:13:43
Speaker
You did that on purpose, bitch. OK, that uneven eyeliner, that was a serve. That was fully intentional. Those extension tracks showing intentional. That fat ass juicy camel toe that I can never hide no matter how many fucking pairs of pants I buy or it doesn't matter if I'm wearing underwear or not, because I have long legs, short torso, fat pussy. Intentional.
00:14:04
Speaker
You are a hot fucking goddess, okay? Even if you don't feel like you are, you are. That's the motto, that's the mantra, that's the affirmation, period. Believe it, honey. I'm not gonna lie to you, this shit works. I started doing this, and I'm not kidding, my days have been so much better. And y'all know, once I get hooked on something, I am a routine ass bitch. So I have been on my routine, not slacking, not forgetting. Today, it's hilarious that I'm recording this episode because I have been a full beat every day for the last couple weeks.
00:14:34
Speaker
And today I worked super early. I didn't open, but early for me, bitches. Okay. I had a really long day. It's Sunday. We weren't that busy. I knew we weren't going to be that fucking busy. I also knew there were a lot of other people working today. So I made sure that I had enough time to do my basics, right? My lip liner and my brows. This is the least amount of makeup that I've worn like in a couple of weeks. And I still felt so good about myself, but I will tell you,
00:14:58
Speaker
I caught myself throughout the day being like, oh my gosh, I just look so tired. I wish I would have put on blush. I wish I would have put on mascara. I feel like I just look so tired. Oh my God, I don't look. And then I started to not feel awake. I started to feel super tired because I just kept telling myself over and over. And subconsciously, I think when I left the house, I didn't do a great job of being like,
00:15:19
Speaker
Oh, all right. Like you did your brows and your lips, like you look confident, you look great. I was like, it took me a really long time to do my brows this morning because it was one of those days where they weren't working. And because I was, okay, fine. I'll fucking say it. I was running late. I overslept. No, I didn't work super fucking early. I worked at nine. That's not that early, but I overslept, which threw me off. So I only had time to do my brows and my lips. Okay.
00:15:42
Speaker
And I felt rushed. I didn't feel like I was fully prepared. I didn't feel like I was like in my goddess energy with intentional glamor magic. I felt like I was running out the door. Did I still feel hot? Yeah, a little bit because I'm a hot bitch, right? I sent out my morning snap and I was like, oh, she's glowing. She's a goddess.
00:15:59
Speaker
But then, as soon as I got to work, I went into the bathroom, washed my hands, because it's just part of the job. We're supposed to wash our hands before we clock in. It's like part of when you clock in, they ask, did you wash your hands? I don't know why I'm giving all these details, but you guys, I washed my hands and I looked in the mirror. And I was like, aw, I wish I would have added mascara and blush and maybe a little bit of contour.
00:16:21
Speaker
And then for like a whole hour, I was like kind of self-conscious and not feeling good. And I had this episode planned. So it's just so funny that I like proved to myself. Yep, exactly. The things that I knew. Hey, XYZ really helps. And ABC really doesn't help. I proved that today. I am not a perfect person. Do as I say, not as I do. OK, I'm here to tell you glamour magic fucking works. And I love it. I love.
00:16:45
Speaker
I love being a woman. I do. But everyone can do glamour magic. It is not just for women. Hell, my husband does glamour magic. He has fantastic hair. He has great nails. He has a great sense of style glamour magic is for everybody.
00:16:59
Speaker
Something that I think is also super cool.
Influence of Luna Saranova in Glamour Magic
00:17:01
Speaker
I don't know if any of you guys follow Luna Saranova, but she's a fun little witch on YouTube who I follow. Also give her some love on Instagram because Instagram deleted her account and she had to start a new one and that's so annoying and infuriating because she did nothing wrong. Anyway, I was watching Luna Saranova's Get Ready With Me while she does Glamour Magic and I think it's so fucking cool. So this is not my vibe because I have dry skin so I can't be doing all that with my skin. But what she does is she'll like,
00:17:26
Speaker
put symbols like hearts or I don't know whatever symbol she wants to draw or like a number four or something whatever number resonates with her with her primer or her foundation or something before she blends it in so she can evoke whatever emotion or spell right that she's trying to cast with her makeup with her look that day
00:17:45
Speaker
And I think that is actually super fucking cool. I tried to do that a few weeks ago and found that it was not worth it to blend out because when I put I put like seven seven on one cheek and seven seven on the other cheek, right with my concealer before I like blended it out and it didn't blend well. I have dry skin. I shouldn't have done that. So that's not for me, but I wanted to throw that out there. I thought that was super cool how she does that.
00:18:09
Speaker
And there are so many ways
Glamour Magic Beyond Gender
00:18:10
Speaker
to do glamour magic. There's not one way to do it. It's not just for makeup. It's not just your outfit. It's truly just how you present yourself and get yourself ready and the intention that you put behind it.
00:18:21
Speaker
But bitch, don't take my word for it. I literally want you guys to do this experiment, right? Do it for a few days, do it for a week or two, and report back to me. And you know what, bitches? I always say report back to me and seldom of you actually do it. I want y'all to DM me your fucking results, okay? I'm not actually mad, you guys. It's fine. We're all friends here.
00:18:41
Speaker
I'm actually having a really nice Glamour Magic night session tonight. It's one of my everything showers. If you have long hair and you're someone who doesn't wash your hair every single day, you know what an everything shower is, bitch. It's intense. It takes a lot of goddamn energy. I have one of those tonight, but...
00:18:56
Speaker
I like to do a glamour magic ritual when I have those because I'll do like a full body scrub, exfoliate, tonight I'm going to do my wavy hair routine, which I have not done in a while because I didn't have all the supplies, but my amazing husband just went and got it for me. So I'm really excited. That's the whole reason I wanted to do this episode today as well.
00:19:15
Speaker
It's the perfect day to do it. I have my whole glamour magic ritual happening. I'm teaching you guys about it. And then tomorrow when I look all sexy with wavy hair, I'm gonna listen to this episode and I'm gonna smile. I'm gonna be like, yep, yep, I'm aligned. I am in alignment. Love that. Love that for me. Love that for you. Love that for us. Thank you Wiz Khalifa. In the words of my pregnantest fuck bitch Kelsey, stay high and bye.
