Today's we will read 2 Corinthian's Chapter 3:2-13, 18, Chapter 4:1-10, 13-14, 16-18, and Chapter 5:1-2, 4-12, and 16-21.
Today Paul will teach us that we are not the same as we were when first became believers; we are changing every day to become more and more like God and Jesus!
In our discussion for daily application we will talk about this amazing transformation and what it means for us personally. We have a very personal God, not a general god. Our God has put His Spirit into each one of us to guarantee us of the new life we will have forever. Until we receive that promise in full He has given us His Holy Spirit as a promise. Part of what the Holy Spirit does for us is transform us into the likeness of God, so that we put away the old behaviors that we used to have to adopt new, right, Godly behaviors. This also means that we don't look at other believers as though they were still the same old person. This means we have grace and patience with them as they grow in God. No one is completely transformed over night- not us and not anyone else, either. So when we look at other people we need to remember they are a work in progress and have the same grace and patience with them that God has with us, as we are also in the process of being transformed into His likeness.

And we're back. Today is November 6th. My name is Robin. I'm with In the Family Way Coaching. And it is my pleasure today to bring you today's reading out of the Day by Day Kids Bible, written by Karen Henley.

Thank you so much for joining me again today. I'm so glad that you are hungry for more of God's word today. i hope that you also had a chance to be ah hungry and look for these second Corinthians reading. We read yesterday for second Corinthians chapters one and two.

Reading 2 Corinthians and Spiritual Insights

I really enjoyed reading today Karen Henley's adaptation of 2 Corinthians chapters 3, 4, and 5.

Those are the chapters that we're going to be covering today, and they are awesome! I gotta tell you, I read also the Big Bible and I read the chapters three, four, and five, and I found that they were hard to read. They were hard for me to understand.

And I was so thankful that I was able to understand Karen Henley's version. it was it's It was really put very well. She did an amazing job. The Spirit did an amazing job through her.

And I am just so thankful that God put that task on her heart to do because this version is just incredible for helping us understand God's Word. It doesn't do us much good if we don't understand what we're reading, does it?

I love understanding God's Word, not just to read it, but to understand it. So today, before we get going, we're going to take out our calendar and our sticker or whatever we're using to mark off our days because we're about to read the Bible today.

So let's head
Spiritual Transformation: Caterpillar to Butterfly

in. We are going to be talking about how because we have the Holy Spirit, we are being made new We are becoming a new creation.

We are always in a process of change. Now, this is not unique. When caterpillars or worms, some of them, go into a chrysalis, they come out as a different thing.

They come out as a butterfly or a moth. They completely change who they were. theyre not Not just who they are, but what they are. They're an entirely different looking thing.

They don't have the same legs anymore. They don't have the same body. They are given whole new body. In this same process of transformation, we are not becoming a but ah butterfly, but we are becoming more and more like God, like Jesus, and it's awesome.

And so Paul is going to talk to us today that because of this transformation, we don't look at each other the same way anymore. What does that mean? It means that we can't hold on to a grudge saying that that's the way we used to be.

And, ah you know, we've got these sayings like um a leopard doesn't change its spots and people don't change and you can't teach an old dog new tricks. But you know what?

Those are lies because we are becoming more and more like God every day. with the Holy Spirit.

So let's dig into our reading. There's a lot in there. It's not just about becoming a new creation. So we have some other stuff to read about too.
Our Lives as Letters from Jesus

You are like a letter that tells how we have helped you. Everybody knows you and seeing you is like reading a letter from Jesus. This letter wasn't written with ink.

It was written with God's living spirit. And God doesn't write on stone. He writes on human hearts. And we cannot brag because we are not able to do anything by ourselves.

Being able to do something comes from God. He made us able to tell about his new special promise. And it didn't come written down.

It came from his spirit. The law was the old way to tell about God. And it was written on stone. But it did not bring life.

The law came with God's greatness. Moses' face was bright from seeing God. And it was so bright that God's people couldn't even keep looking at Moses.

And even then, that brightness was fading.

So won't the Spirit's way to tell about God be greater? Won't it show more of God's shining greatness? And that is the way of the Spirit.

He brings life that is right with God. We call that reconciliation. God shows up so brightly now, and his power from long ago doesn't even seem bright at all anymore.

The law was fading away, but still it came with God's shining greatness. And God's spirit will never fade away.

He will shine even brighter. and this is what we hope for. We are very brave. We are not like Moses.

His face was shining and he covered it until the brightness wore off. But our faces are not covered. So we share the Lord's shining greatness.

We are being changed and we are becoming like him. And he shines brighter and brighter in us every day.

this is a gift from the Lord. He is the Spirit.
Living by Faith and Eternal Perspective

And we work for God because of his kind love. We don't give up. Instead, we stop our secret bad ways. We do not lie.

We do not change God's word. hurt We tell the truth.

Our good news about Jesus may be hidden, but it is hidden only to people who do not love God. Satan, who is the fake God of this world, he closes their minds.

In this way, they cannot see the good news and they cannot see the shining greatness of Jesus, who is just like God.

We do not teach about us. We teach about Jesus. He is Lord. He is the reason that we serve and help you.

when time began, God said, let light shine from the dark. And now God has made his light shine in our hearts.

So we know Jesus shines with God's greatness. And this makes us rich. We are like clay jars full of riches from God.

And it is clear that this great power that is inside of us comes from God. It does not come from us. We get pushed hard on every side, but we do not break.

We wonder about things, but we do not give up. We get hurt, but God does not leave us. We get pushed down, but we are not killed.

We are alive, and we always face death for Jesus because that way people see Jesus living in us.

The psalm says, I believed, so I speak. And we believe with that same kind of faith, so we speak too.

We know that God brought Jesus back to life. We know that he will bring us back to life too. And then we will be with you when we see God.

So we don't give up. Our bodies may be getting older, but inside we are being made new every day. Our troubles are not too bad. They only last a little while.

And these troubles will bring us greatness. And it's a greatness that shines brighter than troubles. And this greatness will last forever.

So we don't look at things that we can see. we look at things we cannot see. Because things that we can see only last a short time.

But things we cannot see, they last forever.

Our bodies are like tents that we live in here on Earth. So what if a body dies? Well, then we have a house in heaven and it's built by God, not by people.

And until we get it, we think about it. And we want very much to have our heavenly tent. And it's not that we want to get rid of this body, but we do want our heavenly body. And we will trade our dying body for bodies that live forever.

And this, this is the reason that God made us. And he gave us his spirit as a promise. And the spirit is a promise of what is coming.

When we are in this body, we are away from Jesus. And that means that we live by believing, not by seeing. We'd like it better the other way.

and we'd like to We'd like being away from this body and home with Jesus. And we may be in this body. And we may be away from it. But both ways, we try to please Jesus.

And that's because one day... We will be in front of him and he will judge us. And then each person will get what is coming to him. He will be paid back for what he did in this body.

And he may have done good things or we may have done bad things. But God sees clearly what we are like. And some people are proud of things that can be seen, but they are not proud of what's in their hearts.

We want you to be proud of us. And then you can let those people know what we are really like.
Becoming a New Creation and Reconciliation

And so we do not look at people the way the world does. If anyone follows Jesus, he has been made new. The old is and the new is here.

God brought us to himself through Jesus. Our job is to bring people to God. And God does not count people's sins against them.

He gave us that message. And so we tell that message to people. And it's like God is calling other people cool through us. So we beg you for Jesus.

Be reconciled to God. Come back to God. Jesus had no sin and he took our sin for us. And now, now we can be right with God.

And this is what we call the ministry of reconciliation.

And that is the end of our amazing, wonderful reading for today. Was that not the best? Oh my gosh, every day is like the best.

i just I just love this. God's word is so awesome. Paul has such understanding given to him by the Holy Spirit. And I'm so thankful that Karen Henley can take that understanding and put it into such a way that it is so understandable to me and hopefully to you as well.

Did you love it? We are being made new. And we do not hide our face with a veil the way that Moses did because the people were afraid.

They didn't like seeing Moses's shining face. They said, we can't bear to look at it. You need to cover your face. And so he did. But Jesus taught us that no one lights a lamp and puts it under a basket.

Instead, when they light up a room, They take that light and we hold it up high so that we can see around us. If you are watching the video, my light is good right now.

The other day, my light went out because I had been doing other things for far too long with the light left on, ah my photography light. So suddenly in the middle of the recording, it went dim.

It wasn't dark, but it was dim. My light was out. We do not want our light to go out. We want to shine brightly because we are like a letter from Jesus. ah Paul tells us today that we are like a letter from Jesus.

We are sending people with Jesus' message. When we write a letter, like Paul has done to the Corinthians, it is a message from Paul to the Corinthians.

And now the Holy Spirit, through Jesus, has given us this message. And we are also to give that message as though Jesus had written a personal letter to everybody we talk to.

And I love our God and Jesus because he they are so personal. This is not a general religion. Our God is involved in every bit of our personal lives, not just our collectively.

He's involved in my life. He cares about the little things in my life. He cares about the things that are in your lives. Every single one of you.

He cares about you, Diamond, and everything you're doing today. He cares about you, Jedi, and everything you are doing Forest, he cares about you.

He wants to be a part of your day every day. Pearl, he is part of your day every day. He is influencing things. He is with you.

He cares about you. You are like a pearl to him.

Our God sends us to be messengers. He speaks through us to give personal messages to people of this world so that they can be reconciled to God.

That is so wonderful.

So we are becoming new. We are becoming like him. And like Paul says, We are, let me go back to that part so I can read it properly. He says, everybody knows you and seeing you is like reading a letter from Jesus.

And this letter was not written in ink. It was written with God's living spirit on your human heart. God said that he would write his law on our hearts.

Isn't that amazing? We see the big picture God. God wrote the law on our hearts, this message of reconciliation on our hearts with this new covenant through Jesus.

And we are giving it as a personal invitation to everybody we talk to because we are giving, let's see how Paul puts it.

We tell this message to people and God is calling other people through us. And so we
Using Spiritual Gifts in God's Mission

matter. Remember we talked about that the other day too?

We use the spiritual gifts that God has given us and it doesn't matter what he gives you to do. You might think that you are doing nothing, but you matter.

You are helping to deliver personal letters from Jesus. Isn't that amazing?

That's a personal message. Hi. and I love the veggie tales. I have a message from the Lord. You can tell people that you have a message from the Lord.

You have a letter for a it for them. And we are being made new. We look like him every day. So we have to look at each other in this same way.

We have to remember to do that. We can have such a tendency to judge one another and to see the old. But God has told us and Paul is telling us here that the old has been put off.

We are new. Let's go back to what Paul said.

God has made his light shine in our hearts.

We don't look at people the way the world does. If anyone follows Jesus, he has been made new. The old is gone and the new is here. God brought us to himself through Jesus.

We are new. People have been brought to God through Jesus. And so we are a new creation. And that means that the people that we are giving this message to, once they accept it, they also are a new creation.

And it doesn't happen all at once. It says we are new every day. We are transforming. We are renewing by the transformation of our minds. So we have to have grace for people because we're not perfect yet.

We are still being worked on, but we are changing bit by bit to be more and more like our Heavenly Father. Isn't that awesome?

So we need to have patience and grace for people to give them time. Because just because they come to know the Lord doesn't mean that suddenly every single thing they do is going to be perfect.

And that now we we don't have to talk to them about anything. It means we we help one another. We strengthen one another. We have patience and grace the way God does with us.
Encouragement to Spread God's Word

So I hope that you are encouraged, that you are just feeling really lit up inside, that you are shining with the brightness of God's greatness, like we read about today.

And I hope that you are encouraged to talk to other people, to help spread the word about reading God's word, so that we can teach people the message that God has given us to be reconciled to him.
