Today's we will continue reading Paul's first letter to the Corinthians with Chapter 7:1-3, 6-16, 23-35, and 39-40 and Chapter 8.

Today we will read about some answers to questions that the Corinthians had written to Paul- should they marry or stay unmarried? Should they divorce their unbelieving spouses since they had come to faith in Jesus but their spouse had not? And lastly, was it okay to eat food that had been sacrificed to idols?

In our discussion for daily application we will talk about Paul's advice not do things that we are free to do, such as eating food sacrificed to idols, if doing so would cause someone with weaker faith, who thought it was wrong, to sin. We will talk about how this is relevant in our own lives today with regard to continuing yesterday's teaching, where Paul told us that he and the other disciples felt they were on display, and so they were careful not to do things that would cause another believer to sin.

Today I will share my real life example of how God has been using yesterday's and today's reading and daily application in my life. I will share about the difficulty I have with my daughter at home and how I choose to imitate Paul by doing what I am teaching in our daily application and not taking action against my daughter in court so that the resolution I might have taken with her through the public courts would not potentially cause any other believer to sin.

Introduction to Daily Bible Reading

00:00:02
Speaker
Hello everybody, I'm Robin. i am with In The Family Way Coaching and this year it is my pleasure to bring to you a daily Bible reading event. We are using the Day by Day Kids Bible written by Karen Henley.
00:00:17
Speaker
If you are new to this event or this is just popping up on your feed, don't be discouraged. It's not just for kids. It's not just for families. This is for everybody. This fantastic version of the Bible, we have been going through the entire year since January 1st.
00:00:33
Speaker
And it is the entire big story of the Bible. And it is written in an easy to understand chronological order. So why is that important?
00:00:44
Speaker
Well, sometimes there are events written in the Bible and they are recorded in more than one book. So it can be frustrating or confusing as you are reading through them if you are just picking a book out of the Bible to read and you may not know whether you have already read about this event in the past or whether you are reading a different accounting of the same event that you have already read about.
00:01:08
Speaker
This puts everything into perspective. It doesn't give us all of the little details. It omits things like the law ah that has like for all of the Levites to follow and the rules that there were for sacrifice and making atonement and things like that.
00:01:27
Speaker
And it doesn't include all of the genealogies in in the different books. But it gives us God's big story for us so that we can understand what went on in the Bible from Genesis all the way to Revelation.

Resources for Tracking Progress

00:01:42
Speaker
So thank you for joining me today. If you are following along and you've been here for a little while, then you may be using a bookmarking commitment calendar. And that is available on my site.
00:01:54
Speaker
I have that available so that you can download. It's free. You don't have to subscribe to anything. You don't have to enter your email address. You don't have to do anything. You just download it, and then you have a way to keep track of your listening because you're not actually reading the book, and you may not have time to to listen for a couple of days, and then you may pick it up again, and then if you want to pick up exactly where you were,
00:02:19
Speaker
This is your bookmarking commitment calendar. This will help you know where you listened last. So if you are using that, go ahead and get out your sticker or your crayon, your pen, whatever you are using to mark off those days, because we're about to hear the Bible today.
00:02:37
Speaker
We have finished our month. man That is so awesome. This has been such a wonderful time for me this year. God has been blessing me. He has been growing me.
00:02:50
Speaker
He has been challenging me. He has been using me in different areas, different places with different people all over. And i I am just loving this event. This event has has been a very life-changing event for me to do this year.
00:03:08
Speaker
And I really have enjoyed the accountability. So like, I might not always get it out at an early part of the day before I go to work, but I am definitely committed to getting this out for a daily reading for every day. And sometimes I don't get that out until really, really late.
00:03:26
Speaker
Like as I'm doing this recording now, it's getting close to eight o'clock at night. But I will get it out. And sometimes I have technical difficulties and I'm not always able to get it out until like right before midnight.
00:03:38
Speaker
And occasionally I've even gone over the midnight. But I get it out every day. So I'm not perfect, ah but I do get it out there every day. And I really love the fact that you guys are following the along.

Accessibility of the Event

00:03:51
Speaker
This event is available on Amazon Music, Apple Music, Spotify, YouTube, YouTube Music, wherever you like to listen to your podcasts like Pandora, iHeartRadio, it's even Podbean and Podcast and Overcast and Cast Off.
00:04:11
Speaker
I have put this event out everywhere because my goal is to spread the word about reading God's word. And it doesn't do us any good just to read it.
00:04:22
Speaker
And that's what I love about this version by Karen Henley is that it is easy to understand. So what I like to do is i like to read our daily ah reading and ah use it like a study guide.
00:04:37
Speaker
And then I pick up our big Bible. And then I read through what happened in the Big Bible. And not only does that help me as I am helping us understand and give and for our daily reading, but it's it really helps me understand what is going on in the Big Bible.
00:04:55
Speaker
Because this Bible puts it in a very easy to understand way. And then I read it in the Big Bible and I go, oh, and all these lights come on. And I just have really found it to be like a bridge for understanding.
00:05:09
Speaker
I know that there have been some difficult concepts that i actually understand better now that we've been reading this version of the Bible. So this is not just for kids. I hope that you are enjoying this.
00:05:22
Speaker
And every day we have daily application for why this daily reading is applicable in our lives today. And I'm going to be sharing with you today how yesterday in today's daily reading, God has really been using in my life.
00:05:36
Speaker
His timing is amazing. It's perfect. It is uncanny. It is beyond coincidence. God has been using these events and in these that happen in the Bible to teach me. And i want to share those at daily applications because that way you can understand what it looks like with just a regular person i'm not special i'm just like you i'm just a regular sister in christ trying to uh follow god and obey and god is teaching me exactly how to do that this year and i'm not perfect but he is giving me a lot of areas to work on this year with the bible reading

Focus on Corinthians - Marriage and Relationships

00:06:23
Speaker
So thank you for that long preamble listening to that. I hope that you are enjoying this reading as much as I am enjoying it. We are picking up in the letter that Paul has written to the Corinthians, and it is his first letter.
00:06:38
Speaker
And today we are going to be reading chapter seven and eight out of the that letter. So in chapter seven, Paul is going to be continuing on with the theme of ah relationships between a man and a woman. And in this case, he's going to be talking about marriage.
00:06:58
Speaker
And so ah it talks about um being married or not being married. And then in chapter eight, we're going to be reading and learning about how we should be careful not to cause one another to stumble.
00:07:15
Speaker
And we're going to talk more about that when we get done with our reading for the day. So here we go. Our first section and is chapter seven and it's entitled to marry or not to marry.
00:07:30
Speaker
And apparently this is in answer to some questions that the Corinthians had for Paul. And so Paul is writing back with the answer to their questions.
00:07:42
Speaker
Here are some answers to questions you asked when you wrote me. It's good for people not to marry, but many people think about using sex the wrong way.
00:07:54
Speaker
So each man should have his own wife, and each woman should have her own husband. And the husband should have sex with his wife, and the wife should have sex with her husband.
00:08:07
Speaker
Now here is a good idea, but it is not a rule. I wish everyone could be happy not to be married, like me. But each person is different and all of us are the way that God has made us.
00:08:24
Speaker
You may not be married, or maybe your husband or wife has died. Then I say it's good to stay unmarried. But some people cannot control themselves, and so they should marry.
00:08:38
Speaker
Because it's better to marry than to just wish for sex all the time. So here is a rule for married people. This is God's rule, not mine.
00:08:50
Speaker
A husband is not to leave his wife. A wife is not to leave her husband. If she does, then she should stay unmarried, or she should go back to her husband.
00:09:06
Speaker
Now here's what I have to say, and this is my idea, not God's, says Paul. Let's say a man who believes in Jesus has a wife, but she does not believe in Jesus.
00:09:20
Speaker
And what if she wants to stay with him? Well, then he shouldn't leave her. God helps the wife who does not believe. And God helps her because of her husband.
00:09:34
Speaker
Now let's say a woman who believes in Jesus has a husband. But he he does not believe in Jesus. What if he wants to stay with her? she should not leave him because God helps the husband who does not believe.
00:09:50
Speaker
And God helps him because of his wife. But let's say the wife or husband leaves and the one who leaves does not believe in Jesus.
00:10:02
Speaker
Then let that person leave. The one who believes in Jesus is not tied to the one who left.
00:10:11
Speaker
Paul is speaking here about the fact that these this is the church when it was new. So it can seem like this is um a general teaching about divorce or not getting a divorce.
00:10:29
Speaker
And so what Paul is actually speaking about here is that these people, none of them knew God and none of them knew Jesus. And so these are all new believers.
00:10:43
Speaker
So Paul is specifically referring to a man who has now come to know the Lord, and yet his wife is choosing not to come to know the Lord. And so he is also then referring to the opposite situation.
00:10:58
Speaker
If a and like of a husband and wife are married and the wife comes to the Lord, but the husband is not a believer and he does not want to believe. So Paul is teaching about that if the unbelieving spouse So,
00:11:13
Speaker
says i don't want anything more to do with you you are now believing in this new god and jesus and that is not the way we do things here and in corinth and i don't want to be married to you anymore then paul says let them go it's ok But if your spouse, whom you are married to, says, Honey, I know you've got your thing.
00:11:39
Speaker
Go ahead and and believe how you want to believe. It's not for me, but I certainly don't want to leave you for it. I still love you. Then Paul is saying, Stay together. Don't simply divorce your spouse because they are not believing in the same new God that you are believing in.
00:11:58
Speaker
And you have now changed religions, essentially, because they remember they had a lot of idol worship, a lot of pagan worship. So. um That is what they Paul is speaking about here. He's not talking in general ah for about a husband and a wife.
00:12:13
Speaker
It can still happen that way today, though, if a husband and a wife are married and one of them comes to know the Lord and the other one says, you're just crazy. I don't want to have anything to do with you in this new religion you've got going on.
00:12:26
Speaker
Then that is where Paul's teaching would be applicable. So I just wanted to give us a little bit of clarity there on Paul's teaching and and why this was being written about in the first letter to the Corinthians in response to their question.
00:12:43
Speaker
Paul goes on to say that God wants us to live in peace. So if you are the wife, then you never know. You might save your husband. And if you are the husband, you never know.
00:12:54
Speaker
You might save your wife. Jesus paid a big price for you. So don't follow people. Each person person should stay where God puts him.
00:13:10
Speaker
Now I will tell you about people who have never married. And this is not God's rule, but I tell it the way I see it. Because of Jesus, you can trust me, Paul says.
00:13:22
Speaker
Times are hard today, and there are many problems. So it's good for you to stay like you are. Remember, Paul is referring to you if you've never been married.
00:13:34
Speaker
And are you already married? Then do not leave your wife or your husband. Are you not married? Then don't look for a wife or a husband. But if you do marry, that is not a sin.
00:13:47
Speaker
But when you marry, you face many troubles in this life, and I'd like to save you from that. And this is what I mean, Paul says. Time is short, so don't live just to make your wife or your husband happy.
00:14:04
Speaker
Don't buy things just to have things. Don't use your time thinking about things of the world, because the world is not going to last forever. And I would like you to be free from worry.
00:14:19
Speaker
A man who is not married thinks about what God wants. He thinks about how he can make God happy. But a married man, he thinks about the things of the world.
00:14:31
Speaker
And he thinks about how he can make his wife happy. So his thoughts go two ways. And a woman who is not married thinks about what God wants. She tries to belong to God in body and spirit.
00:14:46
Speaker
But a married woman, she thinks about things of the world. She thinks about how she can make her husband happy. And I say this for your own good. I'm not trying to tie you down.
00:14:59
Speaker
I want you to live the right way. Just give your whole heart to God. A wife should stay with her husband as long as he lives. What if he dies?
00:15:12
Speaker
well then she is free to marry anyone she wants, but her new husband must follow Jesus. And here's how I see it. She'd be happier if she does not marry again. And I think I have these words from God's Spirit.
00:15:30
Speaker
Chapter 8, Food for Idols.
00:15:35
Speaker
We all know things, but knowing things only puffs us up and makes us feel important. And some people, they think they know a lot and they don't know all they should know.
00:15:48
Speaker
and But it is love that builds us up. And people who love God grow close to him and God knows them well.
00:16:02
Speaker
So what about eating food that was given to idols? Now we know that an idol is nothing. There is only one God. And people may worship things and call them gods or lords, but for us, there is only one God. And He is the Father.
00:16:22
Speaker
All things come from Him. We live for Him. There is only one Lord, and that is Jesus. All things came from Him, and we live because of Him.
00:16:37
Speaker
But not everyone knows that. And some people are still used to idols. And so they think food given to idols is bad for you. But food does not make us closer to God.
00:16:52
Speaker
And it's not bad if we don't eat this food. And it's not better if we do eat
00:16:59
Speaker
Just be careful because we might think that we are free to do something, but we do not want others to do something that they think is wrong.
00:17:11
Speaker
Now, what if someone's faith is not strong and he sees you eating food that was given to an idol? You know it's all right, but you don't want to tear down his faith.
00:17:23
Speaker
Jesus died for him. What if you hurt his faith when it's weak? well, then you are sinning against Jesus.
00:17:34
Speaker
What if the food I eat makes someone sin? Well, then I will never eat that food again. And that way I will not make it anyone lose his faith.
00:17:47
Speaker
And that is the end of our reading today.
00:17:53
Speaker
Paul has a lot to teach us today, doesn't he?

The Role of Love and Knowledge

00:17:58
Speaker
We have our daily application. We're not going to go through every single thing. We could do that with everything that that Paul writes, couldn't we? We're going to talk, however, about, let's see,
00:18:17
Speaker
about knowing things. That it is love that builds us up. It's not knowing things that builds us up. Sometimes we can become kind of smarty pants and we can think we know a lot of stuff.
00:18:34
Speaker
But what really builds us up is love. So we need to love one another. We've talked about this so many times. And we need to make sure that we are being loving to people, being kind, being loving to people.
00:18:51
Speaker
Because that is what puffs us up, is when we are loving people. People love to be loved. It makes people feel good. But when you talk to somebody, I know that one of the most common responses when you say something to somebody is when they say, know.
00:19:08
Speaker
And I don't like that response in general. And so I just wanted to share that, is that It would be better instead of when somebody tells us something that we already know, instead of saying, yes, I know, that instead we can turn that around into an agreement and say, yes, you're right.
00:19:32
Speaker
That's an affirmation. We are agreeing. We are affirming. that they are correct. And it feels better to somebody to hear somebody say, yes, you're right, because that is more loving than simply saying, yeah, I know.
00:19:49
Speaker
Yeah, I know. Then it sounds like we are not caring about what they are saying. And so I just wanted to share that. We can help build one another up instead of saying, I know, by saying, yes, you are right, I agree.
00:20:06
Speaker
Remember, we are one in spirit and this helps us to be more unified.
00:20:12
Speaker
All right, so what is our daily application today? Our daily application is that we need to be careful in general, not just with, we we don't have food sacrifice to idols anymore, but whatever it is that we think we may be fine to do, we want to be careful because we've talked a lot in the past about the fact that people see us do things.
00:20:37
Speaker
We don't want to accidentally lead somebody astray or cause someone one who is weak in their faith who thinks, oh, they shouldn't do that. to sin because then we are sinning against Jesus, Paul tells us.
00:20:53
Speaker
So let me give you an example. So I told you that I would share with you about how these daily readings have really been applicable in my life as we've talked about our daily application yesterday and today.

Personal Story and Application of Teachings

00:21:08
Speaker
So yesterday, Paul was teaching us about the the things that the Corinthians were, how they were treating one another. They were arguing with one another and they were taking one another to court.
00:21:19
Speaker
And Paul says that we needed to be wise. And instead of taking our problems to a court system, we needed to go to one another and that we should not be in general taking one another to court.
00:21:34
Speaker
Now, that's not speaking about somebody who's maybe not a believer, ah but you know if you have ah a disagreement with somebody who is not a believer, we should still always try to work things out.
00:21:46
Speaker
But you see, I have a very difficult time. My example is I have a very difficult time with my daughter. She is at this age where she knows absolutely everything and I know nothing. She's in her early twenty s I had a friend named Kim and she used to tell me, Robin, I miss when I was young and knew everything.
00:22:11
Speaker
She says, Robin, the older I get, the more I realize I don't know. And isn't that so if you are older and you are watching or listening, that the older we get, the more we realize how much we don't know.
00:22:24
Speaker
However, when we are young, we can have a tendency to say, I know, i know, i know. Or we feel like we should be telling other people how they should do things because we know what we're talking about.
00:22:37
Speaker
We got it all figured out. And my daughter is just very, ah she wants to, she she thinks that she wants to take care of me, I think. So in some ways she she has,
00:22:49
Speaker
um I, in some ways, I have to believe that her heart is in the right place because she wants me to not do a lot of the things that I do. She's concerned about me. She thinks that everything I'm doing is dangerous.
00:23:03
Speaker
If I am buying soap, she doesn't like, and if she doesn't like the way I have things in my house and she moves them about, she will unplug a light if she thinks that after it has been charging, it gets too hot or something.
00:23:16
Speaker
She's got all these concerns and she's very, very worried about everything. And she wants me to be concerned about everything. And it's like, she's my helicopter parent. And I've been having a very difficult time where she's, she's actually just trying to control me at this point in my home, I feel.
00:23:35
Speaker
And, and she argues with my husband and me about this and she's not nice about it. She's actually quite rude. And so um i wanted her to just, you know, typically if if you don't like where you live, you move.
00:23:51
Speaker
So my husband and I wanted her to move and she was, she's not moving. She won't budge. ah She's a stubborn little one. And so i I wanted to try to ah get a court order for her to move because she's very difficult.
00:24:07
Speaker
And so I was thinking about pursuing that. And after, and it's been really, I've been struggling with it because it's not something that we want to do, but she is just not nice.
00:24:19
Speaker
Very, very not nice. And more than I would care to say, ah you know, and in my event here. And so I i was and was thinking she just really needs to go live her own life so she can stop trying to control mine and my husband's.
00:24:36
Speaker
And so ah but after reading, however, and Paul ah was was telling us yesterday, he says, I urge you. He said, actually, he said, I beg you to imitate me. He said, because I do what I say.
00:24:51
Speaker
And this event is definitely teaching me about about doing what we read. We have our daily applications and God is definitely teaching me how to obey his word this year.
00:25:02
Speaker
and um And Paul said something very strong in yesterday's reading. He said, when you go to court, nobody wins. And so that really weighed heavily on my mind.
00:25:15
Speaker
So I prayed about it and I was really struggling because again, like I say, we didn't want to have to do this, but at the same time, we we don't want her to continue in the path that she is taking with us.
00:25:29
Speaker
And so God reminded me also you know that about forgiveness and how we i just need to obey him. And what Paul told us yesterday was he said that if people are lying to you or if they're not treating you right, he says, why not just let them?
00:25:46
Speaker
Because God sees everything. Ultimately, she will be judged by God. it's It's God's responsibility And Paul encourages us, he says, we you can judge you know your feather fellow believers, but she's and she's not going to listen to me. and We've already tried the church and she doesn't listen to them either. So it's not like i need somebody on my side or five people to agree with me.
00:26:14
Speaker
At this point, it is between her and God. So I decided, you know what, Paul, you're right. And Paul also told us that he is on display for people to see.
00:26:28
Speaker
And I feel that this event puts me a little bit on display because I share my daily applications that God is using this daily reading in my life. So I wanted you to know that I was very affected by our daily reading yesterday.
00:26:43
Speaker
And it really set ah very firmly in my heart. And so i'm i changed our position. And we decided not to pursue that avenue on the basis of what ah but we read and and what we ah taught about yesterday in our daily application.
00:27:03
Speaker
Okay, so this was firmly ah but ah further affirmed to me, it was further confirmed to me that this was definitely what, ah that I was following God.
00:27:18
Speaker
This is what he wanted me to do was to not pursue that avenue. When I read today's reading, that's what absolutely settled it in my mind. I was really thinking that was the way I was going to go after yesterday's reading.
00:27:29
Speaker
But um after today's reading, in reading that the things that we do can cause other people to stumble. And we don't want to do something that we may be free to do. I may be very well free to ah take her and and and have a a disagreement with her and say, she needs to move. She will not move. I need somebody to help me make her move because we're tired of her trying to run our lives in this home.
00:28:02
Speaker
And I don't want to be a stumbling block by by teaching what we read yesterday in our daily application and then not following it.
00:28:15
Speaker
Even if I feel that it is the right thing to do in this situation, i feel that it is better for me to leave it with God because I am also on display a little bit and I'm sharing this, which puts me a little bit more on display so that I can make sure that who knows who will hear about this in the future. Maybe at some point, if I was to go forward with that, it can potentially cause issues for me down the line where somebody says, weren't, didn't you teach about this?
00:28:45
Speaker
And what did you do? You know, and then there's always this finger pointing, finger pointing. And I thought to myself, I need to look at the big picture, which is what we're learning to do this year in reading God's big picture of our Bible.
00:28:58
Speaker
And so I decided the big picture was to follow what I believe to be God's teaching and to honor ah obeying God more than my own desire, because I'm not a slave to my own desires.
00:29:15
Speaker
as we've been learning. And I don't wanna cause anybody to stumble. So I had to pause that for a moment. So now I'm a little off track on my thoughts there.
00:29:30
Speaker
But so that was basically ah the the whole thing is that I didn't want to cause anybody in the future or it in the present to stumble um because of my decision.
00:29:42
Speaker
So as Paul says today, he says, if something that I am eating causes you to stumble, I'm never going to eat that again. So I just wanted to be sure that I was not going to be participating in doing anything ah that would cause somebody else to stumble if they were having that difficulty or if if they um found that if they believe that it is wrong and then they see me doing it.

And they think, oh, that's a terrible thing for her to do. And they may not understand the circumstances or the situation. It may just be one of those gossipy type things. But that's the decision that I decided to make.
00:30:20
Speaker
And also, i am reminded that, ah thank you, Julie, for your Bible verse. Julie sent me Romans 8, 18 through 31. I was looking up. She sent me 18. I'm and And so I i i was i always read that i read further on, and that's where we are told that in about verse 31, that God is working everything together for the good of those who believe in him.
00:30:48
Speaker
And so I do believe that that is the case. And I especially love the verse, Julie, that you shared with me. And I'm going to share that because it was relevant and timely. God always brings his counsel with you know godly friends, which is a good reason why we need to be mindful of the company we keep, right?
00:31:09
Speaker
So Julie sends me this verse yesterday night and says, ah For I consider that the suffering of this present time is not worth comparing to the glory that is revealed to us.
00:31:23
Speaker
And that is Romans 8, chapter 8, verse 18. And that is so. it was It is better to suffer for the glory that God is going to reveal to me through my obedience to him.
00:31:38
Speaker
And then... this is amazing. So I was more embarrassed. Uh, and I didn't want to have to call the person who was helping me or, or email the person who was helping me with my paperwork and whatnot to say, I've changed my mind. i just, I was afraid of how I would look, but I was just very honest. And I said, you know, after much prayer and Bible reading the last two days, I just don't feel that this is the direction that God wants me to go in.
00:32:06
Speaker
And I had no idea, ah how that would be received by the person that I sent this to who was helping me, who had agreed to help me. And, and they actually, it turned out that is exactly because what I was meant to say. The God just opened up my heart and my mouth and and I spoke the truth because I didn't know what to say before I had come to the the full decision.
00:32:32
Speaker
I was just embarrassed and I didn't want to have to make that. Sorry, I changed my mind and I didn't want to look foolish. Nobody likes to look foolish. But it turns out I didn't look foolish.
00:32:43
Speaker
The person wrote me back and said that they loved the fact that I prayed about it. And I had mentioned also in my note that I do this Bible reading event.
00:32:55
Speaker
And so if you are listening or watching today or on another day, Eric, thank you. ah You mentioned that you would check out the event. So how amazing is that?
00:33:08
Speaker
that the That I had no idea that the person who was helping me is apparently a believer. But God directed all of my paths. And so now I wanted to share with you how God was working good into everything.
00:33:26
Speaker
And then I've been very adamant about that all year. So God used even my obedience there, or and even my struggle. First, my he used my struggle, and then he used my obedience.
00:33:38
Speaker
And his timing for yesterday's reading and today's just coincided perfectly with everything that was going on in my life. And so God's word is applicable every single day.
00:33:56
Speaker
And I thank you for your audience as you listen to me talk about that, because I want to share that with you. This is my witnessing, my testimony that God used all of that for good. It had nothing to do with my disagreement with my daughter, per se.
00:34:11
Speaker
It has to do with how God was working through all of that all the time. Isn't that amazing? what a What a wonderful God we have.
00:34:23
Speaker
I am so grateful to him. And so I hope that you are encouraged to obey God's word when you hear God speaking to you, when you hear these daily applications, and that you honor what you hear and that you obey him.
00:34:39
Speaker
Because you just never know how far that obedience is going to go, what God is going to do with that. Today, i made a new connection with the person who was helping me.
00:34:51
Speaker
And now you may be a listener. or a watcher for this event, helping us spread the word about reading God's word. I'm just amazed how far reaching, and how how God just reaches everybody, like with everything that goes on in our daily lives.
00:35:11
Speaker
So thank you for joining me today.

Responsible Exercise of Freedom

00:35:13
Speaker
i hope that you find today's daily application of being careful with how we enjoy our freedom.
00:35:23
Speaker
That yes, we have the freedom. Everything is permissible to us, as Paul mentioned yesterday. And that ties in into today, today's daily application, that while everything is allowed to for us to do, not everything is beneficial for us to do.
00:35:38
Speaker
And just like Paul mentioned yesterday, that if we take one another to court, nobody wins. what That means we' it's not beneficial to us to do so. And I think God showed me it would not have necessarily been beneficial for me too to do that either.
00:35:55
Speaker
And so i we want to be careful not to do things that may also cause other people to stumble.
00:36:04
Speaker
So I hope that you have enjoyed our daily application, that you feel like God has lit your light today, and that you just love today's reading. I really love today's reading. I am so grateful for God.
00:36:15
Speaker
and Paul and all that ah God is teaching us every day with his word. All of God's word is useful for teaching and correction and instruction and for teaching making us ready for training us up so that we can do all the good works that he has for us to do.
00:36:37
Speaker
And I hope that you feel like God is training you up this year as you follow along in our daily reading through the Day by Day Kids Bible, written by Karen Henley. I hope you have a fantastic rest of your day, whatever day you get around to watching or listening to today's October 31st reading.
00:36:55
Speaker
And I hope that you are hungry for more of God's word so that you join me for tomorrow's reading, November 1st, as we go through that day-by-day kids Bible. And until we meet again, i hope you have a very blessed walk with God.
00:37:11
Speaker
See you next time.
