Introduction to Awakened Bake

00:00:00
Speaker
Welcome to Awakened Bake, an educational, high vibrational, mystical, spiritual pot, I'm sorry, podcast from one girl, one joint in a journey to awaken what's inside all of us. In the words of the wise was Khalifa, let's roll something and get the day started.

Nostalgic Revival of Podcast Intro

00:00:15
Speaker
Hello, it's me Kelce. Good morning. Good day. Good morrow. It's like that used to be part of our intro and we've kind of dropped it.
00:00:22
Speaker
And so I'm bringing it back a little retro start today Hi, I hope you guys are all doing wonderfully.

World Chaos and Need for Change

00:00:32
Speaker
I love you. I feel like I need to start that off That's how I need to start it off is by letting you know that I love you. I hope you love you Life is so crazy. I don't know I keep
00:00:47
Speaker
These past few episodes that I've done I've got them just talked about yeah the craziness of the world because it's something that's just so prevalent and so in our face right now is that like We need to do things differently
00:01:03
Speaker
Like, I don't know, I guess that's just part of what I'm really getting out of. What the world is experiencing right now is that things have to change. Like we, okay, what we're doing isn't working for so many reasons in so many ways and like kind of across the board. I don't, I don't know. I don't know anyone who's really doing it right. I don't, I don't know who to like, be like, Oh, we should try doing it. Like this group of people are like, these guys have it down.
00:01:30
Speaker
seems like everyone's kind of kind of just like hanging on by the skin of our teeth and it's good that we're hanging on and we have to keep hanging on and we have to we gotta try some new shit guys i'm not just talking about new strains of weed i'm talking about we gotta we gotta we gotta change things up like in life i feel like a big a big piece of

Education as a Tool for Understanding

00:02:00
Speaker
what makes us special as humans is that we have this ability to learn. Um, and so I think we need to take advantage of that. Like in this time now where there's so much going on, I think education is what we really have to kind of turn to. I feel like that's our saving grace. I think that's what will,
00:02:26
Speaker
bring us together. It's not even a goal of convincing one side to join another or anything like that. It is simply coming to a place of understanding. I think that would make such a difference in so many conflicts and so many arguments that are had today in the world
00:02:50
Speaker
And again, for like literally a plethora of reasons, almost every problem could be solved with allowing ourselves to come to an understanding with each other and with ourselves and just educate ourselves and each other. I think that's such an important thing. I think that's kind of a step that we forget. We have such a divide between us for

Embracing Diverse Realities

00:03:14
Speaker
what life is. We all have so many different ideas about who's in charge or what's our ruling entity, what our higher power is, what's right, what's wrong. It seems like on everything we are so divided and yet we don't really understand where each other's coming from and we've talked so much about
00:03:40
Speaker
Everyone's reality is real. What you're experiencing is a real experience. In whoever's mind, everyone in their own mind, what they're living in, what they're experiencing is as real as can be. It's hard to discredit everyone for what they're feeling or what they're going through or how they think something should be happening because that's what they believe, that's what they know.
00:04:06
Speaker
how we combat that is why we learn more. We try to understand more. We try to come up with new things based on what works for both of us. We develop new experiences together to expand ourselves and our horizons and how we think.

Curiosity: Questioning vs. Accepting

00:04:23
Speaker
I don't know, I just feel like we live in this world with this insane technology and access to information that
00:04:30
Speaker
Past generations could never fathom the amount of access we have to knowledge. And yet so often we don't do it that, we don't seek out anything, we don't ask why. Or we get made to feel like if we ask why, then we're annoying or we're like trying to be aggressive or something like, oh, why do you want to do it that way? And it's like, no, I want to know why, what is your thought process?
00:05:00
Speaker
How do you work? How are you thinking? And just such a huge part of the gap in society is this education barrier. A good education is a privilege. I completely understand that. And that's something that we need to fix. Again, that's kind of what I'm talking about. That's one of the things. And this new renaissance of life that is going to be coming through
00:05:25
Speaker
the pain that we are bringing.

Rethinking Society's Structures

00:05:27
Speaker
This is my only way to get through this stuff that we are doing to each other is that there is something better coming. And in that, in that Renaissance, which I just feel like that's the word I feel like that's what I predict is our future is holding is this beautiful rethinking of how we structure ourselves and how we build a society and how we view each other.
00:05:50
Speaker
Um, and I'll, although this pain sucks to put it like as fricking layman's terms, it sucks. Like, um, it also can show us how important each other are and how important connection is. And I'm hoping that right. At some point there is some shining moment of clarity of what, what the fuck are we doing guys? Like we got to get our shit together or we will no longer have.
00:06:20
Speaker
we will just be dust.

Reforming Education for Societal Change

00:06:24
Speaker
And so I think one of the bases of this new foundation of society needs to be our education system. I've talked to so many incredible teachers who are just like, I don't know how to do this. And not that they don't know how to teach, but like, how do you teach in a world
00:06:50
Speaker
where we're not being encouraged to think. Does that make sense? We're kind of using our access wrong, I feel like, and I'm talking about myself too. I feel like oftentimes we just turn to a quick answer, or now we think that brief thing, that's, okay, that's it, boom, that's done, or TikToks will tell us things about
00:07:14
Speaker
certain stuff and you get like a minute of this information I challenge you to get more curious like when you see these things or when you get caught and I'm talking about like everything guys like if you see like a fucking crocheted sweater that you're like oh that's pretty look into it look into how they did that like just just challenge yourself to challenge to see beyond what it is that like
00:07:42
Speaker
we have because you learn so much not only about like right how this was made but maybe you learn about who made it why they made it the colors that they chose and sometimes you know this is how you end up digging deeper into something like
00:07:58
Speaker
a company that actually doesn't stand for good things or a company that's doing bad things, you find that by looking into things a little bit deeper, I think we need to stop taking everything as face value. And again, this is not necessarily the education system. I kind of got off on a tangent because I had like a download of like what I just said. But like, yeah, okay. I need to get back to what I was saying. I was I got like way too into that. And then I just like completely lost my train of thought. Obviously, you guys know me. Hello. Hi, welcome. You know me.
00:08:30
Speaker
But anyways, I think just, yeah, we need to, I don't know, go beyond just seeing things or just admiring things. Get curious about stuff. Get curious about people. Get curious about why people are doing the things that they do. Get curious about different cultures. And when I say get curious about different cultures, I mean that even like
00:08:53
Speaker
different towns. Just be curious about watching interactions of people. It's crazy to me how different everyone is based on such a small radius. I think that makes sense. I hope you're getting what I'm saying. Literally every town is a different culture. There are some things that are so specific to such small areas when you think of it. When someone says think about different cultures, you're thinking Italian culture.
00:09:23
Speaker
versus American culture versus Hispanic culture versus Mexican, all those different. But I'm talking about on a smaller scale, think about just the culture of your neighbor. And then think about all the cultures that they have. Maybe you have a neighbor who is Italian, Hispanic. That's incredible. How did that happen? You know what I mean? Tell us our stories. I want to hear stories. I think we need to tell more stories.
00:09:53
Speaker
And we need to look for more stories. Damn, I got on another tangent. I am getting downloads left and right this episode. Source wanted me to talk about this. Okay. Okay, so what I wrote down now is some questions. And again, I don't have the answers to what I think this new education system has to be. This is just a fun exercise I did. I'm getting us thinking, guys. I am planting a seed.
00:10:18
Speaker
that hopefully will sprout into a beautiful future of a much better education system that actually benefits students.

Lifelong Learning for All Ages

00:10:30
Speaker
The first thing I wrote is, why is it just for the young? I think we need to evaluate why we think that education needs to happen.
00:10:38
Speaker
strictly for children. Obviously, it's very important that kids get their education. I'm not saying stop that. I'm saying what if we expanded more education into adulthood?
00:10:53
Speaker
And I think you can go back. You can be an adult and you can go back to school, yes. And there are a lot of people who have done that. I went to nursing school with a lot of people who came back to school, and that's awesome. But it's so much harder to do that, and I don't think it should be. I think there should be a lot more access. I also think it should be more normal to have a change of heart when it comes to your career. I think we should be trying more things, being more curious.
00:11:19
Speaker
Um, but yeah, I just think there should be more access to just different adult education options. And even like things as simple as, okay. And this, what I was just about to say is like, how to do your taxes. There are things like that. Um, use them and we need to expand that, uh, different types of things like that. And like cooking classes and stuff like that. And I think it'd be so cool if we had more like these community run things or like,
00:11:49
Speaker
guys, I feel like I'm just describing a community center. Um, but I think you get what I'm saying, like easier access to those things. Um, I gotta say the nine month tolerance break while I was pregnant, my God, it, it, it has done its job. I also have a little bit of a cold, so I feel like I sound stuffy all, all nasally. Um, another like thinking, another little,
00:12:17
Speaker
bringing seed to plant ideas for this new education system that I wrote was taking different learning styles and applying that into classrooms and stuff like that. Bigger classrooms, smaller classrooms, having classrooms for people who have ADHD where they can't sit still, having a mix of classrooms where there's people who do sit still who need to walk around.
00:12:41
Speaker
people who read, people who listen, all different types of learning. Kids should be encouraged to try different ways to find out how they learn and how they test the best and how things work the best for them. It should be more about experiences and less about exams. Obviously, what I'm saying is not breakthrough. So many teachers are saying this. I know I'm not... This isn't a new take. What I'm saying is that these are the things that
00:13:06
Speaker
I think need to happen. Truly, we cannot be better until these things happen. But right, different accommodations for things. There should be so many more options. And these options should be so much more widely accessible. And unfortunately, to do that, obviously, it takes money. But in America alone, I'll just say for us in the US, if we, I don't know, took like 5% of our military spending, it would probably pay for what I'm talking about.
00:13:35
Speaker
So just, and we probably should take like 30%. So don't just say that, I'll just drop that little hint that this could be funded. I'll do another episode soon about how we should restructure the healthcare system.

Personalized and Relevant Education

00:13:53
Speaker
Another thing I think we need to focus on is inclusivity and integration.
00:13:57
Speaker
I think this would be a really cool thing if we could do it with teachers as well. And what I mean by that is like, what if there were days of classes that were taught by not teachers? And I mean, like the teachers would still be there. I'm not saying like a random person would just come in and like all of a sudden be qualified. I'm saying like, what if there were real life experience classes where a nurse could come in and
00:14:22
Speaker
teach about like actual health or whatever you know like actual people who are doing jobs that are you're learning about but I also think that classes should be like make more sense obviously math algebra that's an important thing to know geometry should I know that a square is a square hell yeah rectangle rectangle yeah triangles sure
00:14:45
Speaker
Should I be able to prove that two triangles are the same triangle, but different sizes, proofs? Like, no, no. Okay. Like, what are we, what are we doing? Trigonometry, trigonometry. No, if I want to, if I, if I do algebra and I fucking love it, then I would love the option to go on to learn calculus and all that bullshit.
00:15:07
Speaker
I don't need to know that. What I liked was biology and algebra and like those things that make fucking sense. And so like, that's what I hated about like, I would do so good some years because I would have these classes like biology that I was super interested in. And then after that, I had chemistry the next year and I hated it because like, it just isn't for me. And it wasn't the teacher and it wasn't like, if I don't have an interest in something, I can't learn it. And I think there are
00:15:34
Speaker
some things that yes, we should be forced to learn, quote unquote, like I think history should be definitely taught, but taught better. And that was a slight to not the teachers, but to the like school boards and like the people who tell us what to teach. Teachers, you are amazing. I'm just gonna cover my ass there. But yeah, like having all these like, we should have more options of things that just make fucking sense.
00:16:05
Speaker
Like I graduated from high school and I didn't, I don't, I own a house and I don't know what a mortgage is. Like I don't, is that what I, that's like a loan, right? So it's the money that my bank gave me. I like, yeah, guys, I'm not, I can't, I cannot sit here and explain a mortgage. I don't know. I just pay it. And by that, I mean like my husband handles it. Like I can't lie. I'm very lucky that I have that situation, but like,
00:16:31
Speaker
It would have been cool to know what that was. I feel like I should have known. I feel like I should have been equipped to know that. So yes, there are things that should be taught English and I mean that reading whatever language and there should be more language options available like I'm not. And that's where like it's cool the technology that we have because we do have the ability to like
00:16:52
Speaker
connect with other countries and other teachers and other expand what is possible for students to learn everywhere. And that's how it can be more accessible. And I know that teachers still need to get paid. So it'd be hard to you can't like just necessarily film a video and then have that teacher class. You know what I'm saying? We like but there you can do video calls and things like

Creative Problem-Solving Beyond Traditions

00:17:16
Speaker
that. And like I just I just want us to be so much better guys.
00:17:22
Speaker
And so I'm going to get so fucking curious. I'm going to ask so many questions to try to just expand how I'm thinking about this problem because that's what we need to do. That's basically what I'm trying to say is that we need to start asking questions and getting curious about problems instead of just complaining about them. Instead of just being mad or being sad, like it's time to fucking do some stuff.
00:17:47
Speaker
Let's take action. Let's move forward and let's do it by not trying things that we've tried in the past or just trying slightly different versions of what we've already done. Let's make some real fucking changes. Let's go. Let's actually do our research for these changes and let's choose to try something not because the person who suggested it is on our side or they're not on our side.
00:18:17
Speaker
Let's grow the fuck up and let's get creative about these problems that are happening. And on a small scale and on a big scale, like, you know, like everyone needs to do this. Everyone needs to stop just taking blips and running with it. Judgment is such a killer of what we could be because we just allow it to crush us.
00:18:43
Speaker
based on judging each other, based on judging ourselves, like set our egos aside and be so incredibly grateful for what we can do in that we have these abilities to ask these questions, to communicate like we can, to build and have the technology that we do, to have these hands that can hold things. Like how crazy is an opposable thumb? We have like, we are gods. And yet we're fucking everything up for the sake of
00:19:14
Speaker
money. Come on, let's get better. Let's do it. I'm pumped about this. I want to learn so much. I'm going to do that about serious things like the conflicts that are happening right now in the Middle East and all over the world.

Desire for Global Understanding

00:19:32
Speaker
I want to know about what's happening. I want to find responsible sources and I want to
00:19:42
Speaker
understand what brought this. I know I will never understand the position that people are in right now, but I want to at least do my due diligence to pay my respect by giving them my time of, I want to learn. I'm listening. I'm here to learn. I want people to teach me. I am open.
00:20:12
Speaker
Yeah, I think I'm gonna end it there. I had some other stuff, but that feels, that felt good. That felt like a good ending. I hope you guys followed along with that. I feel like I was rambly and I'm sorry. You know how I get, especially when I get excited about stuff and when I feel like, I don't know, I've been really on like my meditation shit and I just, like I've said,
00:20:37
Speaker
the past what three episodes that I've done that this is this is how I'm getting through so yeah I know I just started saying something and then Cole texted me and so he popped up on my computer screen and now I'm completely lost myself but but yeah thanks for being on this journey with me I'm really really grateful for you I'm grateful for
00:21:07
Speaker
My life, my home, my family. I'm grateful for my alignment and my connection to Source. I'm really grateful for Awake and Bake. Okay. I love y'all. Stay high.
