I'm really obsessed with our intro. I really am, too. It's just the best. It's the best. It's not going to be long until we have it memorized. I know. And i if anybody's wondering where that came from, it just chat GPT. There is enough info and chat GPT now about our businesses and our podcast that it just whipped that right up. And literally, I got it in one shot. I sent it to Tiffany. I'm like, this is it. This is it.
00:01:12
Speaker
We're embracing the world of AI and we're just, it's here. It's not going to go away. And so why not just like love it and use it to our advantage. And that's both of our, we've had a conversation about that and yeah, it's been really helpful.
00:01:27
Speaker
here Yeah, I'm into it. I really was not in the very beginning. It kind of freaked me out. I didn't fully understand it. But once I got a handle on chat GPT, I use it for so many different things. And I just really appreciate having that technology for so many different reasons. We're not always creative beings all the time. And I always try to tell people that when we talk about social media and the stress, and we're going to talk about that today too, but Yeah, you know, when you need to come up with different podcast episodes, or honestly, that is how I have been helping people with Valentine's promotions. I've been using chat GPT. I love it. That's so smart and valuable, because then it creates space to use your brain for the things that actually you need it for in your business or your life. And you're not stressing about, you know, reinventing the wheel and coming up with new ideas.
00:02:21
Speaker
And chat GPT is it's a little scary in the fact that it can get to know you so well. And like you said, like it knows our messaging and knows our voice behind the on aesthetics and it is really, really good. But I'm here for it. It feels like a blessing.
00:02:40
Speaker
It really does. And not only does it help you, like, if you're not feeling creative, and then you just put some prompts in there, when you start going through it, you get super inspired. Yeah. And so there's, I think it's really useful. I think it's really valuable. And I think it's more about learning where to incorporate it. And, you know, how can that really benefit you and just getting really clear on that. And then it's a game changer from there.
00:03:06
Speaker
Yeah. And it doesn't take like your voice away. Initially it was like, Oh, this is going to do all the work like for me. What, where do I come in and where does my creativity come in and my authenticity? And so I think when you come at it with the perspective of it's not taking that away. It's just really fueling your creativity and then you can still, Use your voice and your branding and your messaging and all of your things that make you you behind the prompts. It's very helpful. So I'm here for it. You're here for it. We're really grateful. Let's catch up though. So actually let's do some intros. Who are we?
00:03:40
Speaker
Well, my name is Jess. I am Jessica Peterson. I'm the SD coach on Instagram, and I'm a rep for Eminence Organic Skincare. So that's where I am. So me and Twin Flame too. Jess and I are spent on this earth almost at the same time, we're the same age. Our birthdays are very, very close.
00:04:05
Speaker
And I know that we have this sole contract and we're here to do this work and live in our purpose together. And i' we're just so grateful to have found each other and be on this journey together. It goes beyond just this life. um I'm Tiffany. I am owner of Sweet Cheeks Laxing and Skin Care. I'm a licensed esthetician and I'm also an educator and have launched my sister company, Sweet Cheeks University. So I do continuing education courses and together we do mentorship and coaching for estheticians and beyond. Hence the Beyond Aesthetics podcast. This is our passion project. We have Beyond Aesthetics coaching together. And so basically we are changing the world through raising the level of vibration within the esthetics industry and just pouring ourselves into education and mentorship and
00:04:57
Speaker
helping estheticians feel confident in your skill set and what you bring to the table. And so it's just multidimensional, multilayered. and I think energy that we're bringing to to this world and beyond. So we're so grateful to be here and to be on this platform. And for our listeners who I still get so surprised when somebody mentions that something that they learned on the podcast, it just like aches my breath away. Does it yours? Yes. So that's first of all, that was a much better intro than mine. That was so beautiful and inspired, but I will say so the class that I just taught on Friday,
00:05:38
Speaker
A lot of those people who took that were also listeners of the podcast and i you know extended their appreciation for the podcast, and I really appreciated that. it's i It's hard to know who our listeners are, so we really love hearing from you.
00:05:55
Speaker
We really enjoy and appreciate that feedback and it really drives us to want to just work harder and do more with the podcast and share more. And umm so yeah, it is an interesting situation. We can't see who our listeners are.
00:06:12
Speaker
you know we have no idea so unless we're working with you one-on-one like we have our coaching groups we have our one-on-one coaching that is growing and um other than that we don't know who's listening so always reach out and tell us that you are and that you you know what you're getting out of it so that we kind of know which direction to continue go and and honestly even if there's very specific things that you want to talk about let us know because we just We sort of fly by the seat of our pants. Most of what we do is inspired. I will say that. But if there's anything specific that you guys want to throw out there, let us know.
00:06:52
Speaker
Heck yeah, we're, basically we work for you guys. We work for our listeners. That's why we're here and we want to be able to deliver value to our listeners. And so I love it so, so much, even when it's just like a fleeting comment, like, Oh, when you were talking about this thing on the podcast and it's usually not something that I thought maybe carried that much impact. So it's always so inspiring to, it just refills our fire to keep showing up for you guys. So we'd love to hear from you.
00:07:20
Speaker
um slide into our DMs. It's our favorite way of communication. here So today's episode though, we're going to talk about fresh starts and bold goals for 2025. This is our 2025 New Year's episode. Even though we're, let's see the last week in January, that's okay. January is kind of like a trial, trifle ride. It is. I really take time. Yeah.
00:07:47
Speaker
And I know that I'm not the only one. like it doesn't take It takes more than a couple of days. I think within a couple of days, if you're really intentional about how you go into the new year, you're going to have some answers that will come to you. But then as the month rolls out, I think you're really shown even deeper the direction that you are meant to go for the year. So I certainly don't think there's anything wrong with taking several weeks, taking, you know, the whole month of January to really feel into the trajectory of your year and your intentions for the year. So I actually think that this is really good timing, you know, that because there so many, so many more things have come up over the last several weeks that I think it makes a lot of sense.
00:08:33
Speaker
Yeah, I don't think we would have been had the chance to cover them if we would have just jumped into this episode in the first week of January. And for me, I know I took extra time this year to lean into my reflections of 2024. Usually I'm like ready to put the year before or the year that's ending to bed and just jump right into the next year. And I didn't do that this year.
00:08:55
Speaker
And um it was like not coming to me and I was still like ruminating and reminiscing over the year before. And then I just decided to lean into it and not rush things. And I think it's been so purposeful and um and really is helping me get really clear on my goals for 2025.
00:09:15
Speaker
So one thing that happened to me when I was doing my reflections and trying to plan for the year, well it was really when I was trying to plan for the year ahead and I'll talk about this a little bit later in the episode too, but one thing that really came through after a meditation as I started just doing a little bit of automatic writing was the importance of not just walking away from the last year because the things that we go through in our lives, whether they're big, whether they're small, it doesn't matter what that is. That's all happening for a reason. And so trying to go into a new year, just wanting to like, flush that and put it behind you without actually taking time to look deeper into it, and to grow from it,
00:10:02
Speaker
and do the introspection of where those opportunities are, what what were the wins, what were the losses, like what really were those lessons, especially honestly if you've if you've had a horrible like extremely hard year. I mean no year is truly horrible but there's a lot of years that are harder than others. If you don't take that time to do that reflection,
00:10:27
Speaker
that's You are doing yourself such a huge disservice because your soul set that up for you on purpose. And so to try to just walk away from it and pretend like it didn't happen and just set new goals and wander into a new year, what is the point of life at that point? And that is the one thing that just kept coming through for me. It's like you're not walking away from this as easily as you think you are.
00:10:53
Speaker
I have chills all over. It was so powerful when that was coming through to me because my year was so awful. It was so awful. And it would be so easy to be like, I'm just going to move on now and I'm just going to have a fresh start. But then what would the point have been?
00:11:10
Speaker
Well, exactly. And I think I want to just say that again, what you just said, your soul has set these lessons or these trials or these challenges up for you, for you to learn and to grow through even the really, really hard things. And if you just dismiss them or you just shove them down or put them to bed, they're going to resurface in some way down the road, right? And we, to really learn from something and grow for something, we want to have the full experience as painful and as messy and as hurtful all the all of the emotions, right? as As all of that is, the whole point is, like you said, to really grow from it and learn from it and let it change you. We're here to transcend and we're here to level up and to get to the next level. And like another aspect of that, to achieve your goals and to get to where you're going, we really have to experience fully all of all of it. That's beautiful. Yeah, that was really powerful.
00:12:09
Speaker
Yeah, I think that's very powerful. I needed to hear that. I know our listeners needed to hear that too. yeah um I'm so excited for this episode though. Let's do a quick update. Since it has been a several weeks since we've recorded, let's kind of just catch everybody up on what we've been doing. I know you've been traveling for work.
00:12:29
Speaker
want to tell you about that Really, really big week on the road, the second or third week in January. I don't remember that it started on January 12. And then I came home on the 17th. And I worked myself into the ground in the best way possible. So, you know, I was at about 4.30 or five, I got my workout in, I, you know, had to leave my hotel around eight or nine. And I worked straight through until usually about 8pm.
00:12:57
Speaker
I would come home and then I still had patch up work to do too. so it was um It was such a good week though. It was truly fulfilling. My work with Eminence is one of the most fulfilling parts of my life in addition to, of course,
00:13:14
Speaker
you know, the coaching business that we have together. And so, yeah, it was wild. And of course, for New Year's, I went away to Stanley and did my whole New Year's thing. And that was really fun. and And then yep, I had my week in Utah.
00:13:31
Speaker
And I've been home since then. So I don't travel nearly as much as I used to. And what is interesting for me, and this will come up later in the episode too, but the amount of space that that has opened up in my schedule has been crazy because already even just last week, we took on three new clients in one week ah and started a new mastermind group. And I was hired to do like this.
00:14:01
Speaker
training certification program for a spa team. Cool. And none of that would have happened like I wouldn't have been able to do any of that if my schedule was still what it was. And so it's interesting and I don't even know where I'm going with this, but yeah, I have been traveling and I've been working really, really hard lately. Either if I'm on the road or if I'm just here at home, I can work up to 16 hour days. just that will probably be and Today will probably be one of them. And um yeah, so I've just been traveling a lot. It's been really good. I really had some incredible trainings. um One thing that I've probably never said on the podcast before,
00:14:44
Speaker
is I have a passion for working with students. So a lot of the business that I kept in Utah, and I obviously have spot partners here who are schools, but in Utah, a lot of what I was doing and a lot of why my days were so long is because I was working with my schools, and I love that. I really, really do. i On Friday, the last day of my trip, I had a training with, I want to say there was probably
00:15:15
Speaker
up to 100 people in this gorgeous room at one of the schools that I work at and I felt so centered. I felt so inspired and so centered and just so confident in everything that I was sharing with them and part of it was of course product knowledge. Of course, we had picked some categories and we did all of that product knowledge. But after that, I actually did just a piece of my masterclass because I always also want to touch on things like sales or pre-booking or different things like that. And the response was just phenomenal. So everybody really that I did that with that week
00:15:56
Speaker
was just so responsive. And I don't know, it was just such an inspiring, very validating, very in my purpose week. And I have come to really understand how unique it is that I am living in my purpose, because a lot of people are not a lot of people really aren't in fact, people who are very, very close to me, my boyfriend's one of them, he's like working on it. But I don't know, I just have had conversations recently where people are so lost.
00:16:25
Speaker
And, and so it's not something that I take for granted to stand in front of a room of 100 people just completely confident and centered and coming from my heart space and just loving and sharing what I know the group needs to hear because of course I always pray about that first two.
00:16:44
Speaker
is such a beautiful thing. And so it's just interesting that while the work that I do, especially with Eminence, it's that actually extremely draining. It took me an entire week to recover from. I wouldn't change it for anything. The amount of fulfillment of being in a position of influence there's just nothing that compares to that. It is like the best drug that I have ever taken, especially because i I'm also this month celebrating 21 years as a master esthetician. And so to have really ended the week off on that note was an incredible experience. So that was really memorable memorable. As soon as everybody cleared the room and the room was empty again, and I was on my way home, my car was packed and everything I had checked out of my hotel that morning, i just
00:17:37
Speaker
felt like my heart was going to explode. It's such a beautiful experience. And you've had that too when I had you do a presentation at my regional and you were like, that was amazing. And I'm like, I know when you're just in front of a room of people who you're just sharing what you know, and you're just sharing from your heart and it's the most beautiful experience. So yeah, that's, um I don't know. My my role with with Eminence is just so in alignment. um
00:18:09
Speaker
with what I'm supposed to be doing here and I just know it. Yeah. And you can tell it emanates from you it emanates from your soul and I want to back way back to the beginning of that kind of just like that. realigning and all of the work that you did lot this last year to realign in your purpose and letting go of some of your accounts in Utah. I know it's really hard.
00:18:33
Speaker
And just trusting that that's the direction that you needed to go so that you could expand into this new new ish territory that we're both going into. And it's how just so many opportunities have a arise so quickly. And I think just knowing and being able to reflect on that you are in your purpose, that you are aligned and that all of these things are arising because of that. And just like paying attention to that, I think is so, so, so important. Just like you said, you know, you're living in your purpose and so many people aren't, they're so lost. And I think there's a lot of people out there too that are living in their purpose and aren't giving themselves enough credit.
00:19:18
Speaker
because they're continuously looking at the goal ahead. And I think I'm one of them. I think that's something that that came to me in my reflections of the 2024 is like, I am ah exactly living in my purpose. And I basically everything I've ever wanted I have right now, even though there's still some big goals and big dreams that I have on my vision,
00:19:42
Speaker
I still like, this is where I want to be, and this is where I aim to be for so many years, and it just feels really good. So thank you for bringing attention to that, because I think so many of us need to recognize that, and you are such an inspiration for for all of us, basically, and because you do so with so much confidence and so much power, and that just is like a trigger effect for everybody that you come in contact with.
00:20:07
Speaker
Thank you. And it is so interesting to even have that amount of confidence that I do to just be in a room full of people who are staring at you and I bet I am so confident in it. And if anybody needs to hear this, I have not always been that way. Like there's no way I have not always been that way. I think that one thing that is a little different about me is that I've li a lived
00:20:40
Speaker
a very spiritually and intuitively led life from the time that I was a little, little girl. And so every single step that I have taken was just in alignment with what my heart was telling me. Like my intuition is so strong as Tiffany knows this about me already, but I can't argue with it and I cannot work against it. It just doesn't work that way. And so every step, every risk, every move that I have made, every position that I've had, everything has been from the seat of my soul and my heart. And and it's looked very different as I've gone.
00:21:19
Speaker
And I think that that is kind of where people can get caught up is they're like, well, I want to be doing this down the road. Well, that is great. And you will get there. But living in your purpose is going to look different through each step that you take to get there because I was still living in my purpose when I was in the treatment room at the resort. I loved it. I think about it every day. I was still in my purpose when I was an instructor.
00:21:49
Speaker
I was still very much in my purpose and and all of that is just because I lead with my heart. I just lead such to lead such a spiritually led life and for anybody who is wondering How do I know what my purpose is? You have to learn to listen to your heart. You have to learn to tune out all of the noise, tune out all of the programming that you were raised with and start to shed all of that and just start focusing on what lights you up. Like the first thing that put me on this path was
00:22:25
Speaker
I was working as a waitress when I was younger and as a paralegal. I first was a runner for a law firm and then I was like their assistant and whatever and I just was miserable. So the first thing that put me on my path was truly just, hey, what could I do that I wouldn't dread waking up in the morning was really the first step. What could I do that would have a higher vibe. That's not what I, you know, that wouldn't be the purpose that I use then. But I was like, what's gonna actually feel good every day in my life. And that is the first step to date to find your purpose is just leaning into the things that light you up and bring you joy and that don't completely drain your energy like being drained because you just poured your heart and soul out to people. That's a whole different thing. We're all drained at the end of the day too, even if we're in the treatment room. That's not what I'm talking about. I'm talking about when you hate your life. I'm talking about when you have this Sunday scary because you have to wake up on Monday morning or when you're living your whole life just waiting for vacation or looking forward to the weekend. That's not a way to live. And if you're living like that, you're probably not in your purpose. No, when there's no passion behind what you do,
00:23:42
Speaker
that means that there's no purpose there. And the whole, I think goal of everybody on this earth is to live out their purpose and live out their calling. And it's going to look absolutely different to everyone. And so it really comes from the passion. And like you said, not being, not dreading what you, you know, do your tasks and your job and the people that you interact with. And it it's a very, very personal,
00:24:07
Speaker
And I want to just go back a little bit, that like confidence is your superpower, your specifically, and I'm so grateful for it because it's definitely rubbed off on me in so many ways. Every time I talk to you and see you or see the content that you put out, it's so, so powerful. And I love that so much. Thank you for saying that. And I do think it's important that people know that I have not always been this way.
00:24:29
Speaker
And I'd love to do a whole episode on confidence because right now we're currently working with a lot of people who struggle with self-confidence. And so I think it's something that I would like to dive in deeper. It's something that can be built. I promise you it's something that can be built because I have not always been this way. I think that needs to be high on our list of episodes we record because i I've seen how powerful it can be just through watching you and working with you. And I think it's something The tools that I think you've used, like you said, you've not always been this way can be so helpful and valuable for our listeners and for our industry and just women in general. So I love that so much. Yeah. Tell us real quick before we move on about how your retail sells masterclass. Oh my gosh. So good.
00:25:19
Speaker
So good. It was just something, and I know I've said this in previous episodes, but I just really wanted to give back to our community somehow. but And I had been toying around with how to do that. And I'm really obsessed with that course. I haven't taught the full three hour course for quite a while. And so I was like, I'm just going to knock it down to half off. for the new year's because it is such a fantastic way to go into the new year because it's such a game changer on every level. And so I did it for half off and I had an incredible response and taught the class. the The response during the class was just absolutely incredible. In the middle of teaching it, I was like, this is so valuable. I've left nothing out. I mean, There is no aspect of retail sales that is not included in that course. And so, yeah, it was just incredible. And so even after it was over,
00:26:18
Speaker
um I decided to just extend it. like Whoever wants the recording, the follow-up PDF, the workbook, just DM me and you can have it. and like Sure enough, it just started rolling in that people wanted to do that. and I'm so grateful for that because it is such a passion project. That's literally 21 years of my own experiences, but also the experiences of hundreds and hundreds of business owners and estheticians that I've worked with, especially over the last 12 years with my role with Eminence. And so there's just so much power in that course. And now I really am going to turn it into an online course.
00:26:59
Speaker
And I know that for sure now. So that's something that I've wrestled with um for probably five or six months. Tiffany and I have talked so in depth about it and trying to figure it out. But I think when I had the response of, okay, I'll extend it. So if you want it,
00:27:18
Speaker
this is how you're gonna get it. And that response was also so good that that showed me that it would be really successful as an online course too. So that's the plan for this year. Because it was a recording that kind of flipped your mindset. Okay. Yeah, I was like, people are so interested. And because when I was teaching the class, I really was so in tune. I really was just so passionate. I was so in tune. And I think you could feel that I felt it coming through it like I just felt my heart just bursting. And so I think that my passion and the energy behind it is conveyed.
00:27:59
Speaker
I think it is conveyed. And that was just one thing that I was nervous about. I was like, Okay, because I don't know how to not go deep and passionate and have heart and everything that I do. So I was like, is that gonna come across in the class? Because that's one of the most valuable pieces. But as I was teaching it, it was there. And so I think that I'll turn it into an online course and then just If you've paid for the course, then we can also schedule a call for a certain amount too as like follow up to dive in deeper, but also still have the option to teach that one-on-one with somebody too. But I think the convenience of online courses is good as long as people are just going to follow through with that. So if I were to offer the follow-up offer too, you know, a call with me one-on-one for a certain amount, it would actually get them to just follow through a little bit better on that.
00:28:52
Speaker
so And then they can bring their specific questions that are where they're at or their pain points or whatever to that call. I actually really love that and it's really interesting to see you kind have that realization because I've seen it for as long as you've been offering this masterclass but you needed to see it too that of course that passion would still come through in a recorded episode and an online course and so I'm, I'm here for it. It's been so great. I'm excited. And I like maybe even been calling it a retail course because there's so much more that's happening in that course. That's so good.
00:29:28
Speaker
Yeah. Your whole approach to retail sales, I know has changed my life and my team's life and everybody who's take, cause it's just such a different approach to sales in general. It's yes, it's a system. And yes, you have strategy with it, like you've said, and it's just something completely different than nobody else does. And that's why it's so successful. The, the tools and the, um, knowledge that you learned from the course is just life changing. I can't recommend it enough.
00:29:56
Speaker
Thank you. that means Very proud of you. Thank you um but you. I cannot wait to hear about your podcast experience. I can't remember if that was Thursday or Friday. Tell us all about that. That was Friday. So I traveled to Idaho Falls a couple hours south of Salmon on Friday and did a podcast interview with Julie and Alex.
00:30:20
Speaker
are their names and they co-host together the We Share podcast and so they basically the We Share podcast they have business owners and all types of people on their platform and you basically just get to share your story and it's just this collaborative community building um platform to, I think raise awareness for people who have passion projects and businesses and creativity and all these things that they're trying to put out in the world. And so it was a really, really cool experience. And I have to tell you, it wasn't nervous at all. Usually I get so nervous doing something new and outside my comfort zone. And um I known Julie a little bit years ago, back when I went to aesthetic school. I've never met Alex before. it They're both so cool.
00:31:08
Speaker
I have to say though, through the whole experience, I am so inspired by their setup. So they re they record, they have a recording studio inside the Sand Hill Media Group. Have you heard of them? So there's basically a lot of different radio stations in this building and it is quite the operation.
00:31:30
Speaker
Like it's legit. And then their recording studio is has like microphones and all of these monitors and like the radio keyboard. It looks like a radio station, right? If you've ever been inside a radio station and um their whole setup. And then they've got video. So they're capturing the podcast interviews. And it was just this really beautiful setup that has me really inspired to figure out our podcast a little bit better. So I feel like, um,
00:31:59
Speaker
that that whole experience was like twofold. It was a chance for me to share my story, talk about my business and how I've grown my business and then Sweet Cheats University and all the things that I'm doing through there. And then of course Beyond Aesthetics. So it gave me a chance to share my voice with a new set of listeners and further my reach, which was really cool. And it gave me some insight on how a legit podcast is really recorded. Not that ours isn't legit, but I am inspired to make our, to level- There's good, better, best, okay? Good, better, best. Exactly. Like i'm I'm just really grateful that we figured it out and we're back in the recording studio and we're publishing episodes and I know there's some room for improvements. So I, to respect my time with them in the recording studio, I didn't ask them any of those questions and they were such a wealth of knowledge. I know that they'd be happy to share.
00:32:56
Speaker
So I'm going to reach back out to them and see what insight they can share with us and what tips they have. So I'm really excited about that. But that was just a really cool experience that was outside my comfort zone. And it was, like I said, I wasn't even nervous about it, which I think is just come from practice of doing things outside my comfort zone. And, um, so just overall really grateful, really cool experience. I was so honored to be there and
00:33:23
Speaker
That's kind of where I've been. January has been like the slowest and fastest month all in one. I can't believe that we're still here. Like I saw a meme yesterday that says like, welcome this January 74th or something like that. I'm like, that that's legit.
00:33:39
Speaker
I know January always just seems like this long drawn out month. I don't know what that's all about. But I'm kind of here for it. I don't really mind. I don't really mind it. January is one of my favorite months. So I'm like, whatever, let's have another five weeks of January. That sounds good. Exactly. Right? After this, every but it time speeds up. So yeah that I don't mind. I mean, I just barely took my tree down a few days ago.
00:34:07
Speaker
Yeah. Yeah, I was like, well, stop bringing me joy. and iron but We took our Christmas lights down at the shop at Sweet Cheeks on Saturday. And I was a little bit sad about because now it's like dark, you know. yeah um But so we left him up as long as possible. And that's totally fine. It totally is. Whatever you've got to do to keep the joy. Heck yeah. Winter is not easy.
00:34:31
Speaker
So I wanna touch on really quickly, um the let them theory by Mel Robbins. I'm sure probably most everyone has seen her book, Let Them, and has heard of this concept. And if you haven't, I highly recommend you look it up. um Mel Robbins is like a superstar in um self, what is it called? Everything. Self development, I would say. Self development, yeah. she Yeah.
00:34:59
Speaker
But I saw this reel and I shared it to my stories on Sweet Cheeks University last night and I was like, yes, we need to talk about this. So it was basically, the let them theory basically is um just like let them. If somebody doesn't want you in their life, if somebody chooses to unfollow you, if, yeah I mean, it could go, the list can go on and on and it's basically like,
00:35:21
Speaker
just let them and live your life. and But what I saw last night was interesting. It was about social media and it was applying that let them theory to social media. And I think why I wanna touch on this really quickly is um over the last couple of weeks, I can't even tell you how much I have heard from aestheticians, people inside our mastermind group, people who have reached out that they are just basically like stunted or paralyzed in social media.
00:35:51
Speaker
and they spend all this time creating um content. And then it just goes to their drafts because they get in their head about it. And so what I saw last night was really interesting because it was basically like, let me read my notes. um the The whole concept of social media, your social media is for your own self-expression.
00:36:13
Speaker
And you are the magic sauce that comes with whatever you want to post on social media, whether it's about your business, whether it's personal, whether it's about your artistry or your creativity, you are the magic behind it. And then when we get in our head and we start creating social media for somebody else, for our followers, for our family, for who we think we're there to show up for is when it just kind of gets in the way of your self expression. And then you start censoring yourself.
00:36:44
Speaker
And then you let those draft posts go to your, to your folder. And basically as Mel put it, Mel Robbins says, draft posts are the graveyard of your dreams and self-expression is you couldn't be any more right. And I know that not to get like too far ahead of this, I know that there's some strategy when it comes to social media and talking directly to your ideal clients. And yes, that is true, but basically,
00:37:13
Speaker
your social media is for you and it is about you and it comes back to kind of your offs authenticity and your branding and your messaging because you are your brand. You are your business. You are whatever it is that you choose to express on social media. And if it's not what you want and if it's not true to you and if it's not authentic to you, then you're doing it for somebody else. And then that's where you get in your head about, um,
00:37:43
Speaker
You know, what are people going to think of me? And you feel judged and then you get like paralyzed in being able to show up on social media. So I hope I'm making sense with this as I'm explaining it, but basically we need to stop censoring ourselves and we need to allow social media to just be there for hours for what we want and for our own self-expression. And so basically I can just read emails words.
00:38:09
Speaker
Let them think negatively about you. Let them judge you. Let them unfollow you. Just let them and post your stuff. And because you absolutely have no control over what anyone's going to do with your content and we don't. And I think that's where we get in our head about not showing up on social media and not posting the content that we spend hours creating.
00:38:35
Speaker
because we're afraid of what people will think or we're afraid that we're going to piss somebody off or we're afraid they're going to unfollow us or judge us. And so if anything through this message, just let them and just be yourself because that's really, social media can be such a beautiful thing and it's such a beautiful tool and I personally love it so much and it can, it is such a powerful tool for your business. So especially if you're a business owner or especially if you're,
00:39:04
Speaker
trying to create a name for yourself in this industry, social media is such a powerful tool. And so I think we just get in our heads about it. Yeah. And it just, it takes doing it a few times. and I think we've both been there. I remember when you started showing up on social media, like a superstar, but I knew i Because I know you at a soul level that that wasn't always comfortable it's not like she can just jump in front of the camera and and Do all these things and not have any feelings about it when she puts it out there But she's just doing it anyways And I'm sure that back then you had to talk yourself through it And then you just had to decide that you didn't care what people were gonna say about it I was the first one with Eminence to have a social media and
00:39:59
Speaker
And it was the same for me. I was putting things out there thinking my peers were going to judge me. What if I say something wrong? And eventually, I just felt like it didn't matter because I knew that a platform needed to happen for all eminent spot partners, not just on Facebook. And so you kind of get to a point with social media where you've You're doing it regardless and you're putting it out there and you post something and then just put your phone down and go do something. Just walk away. Don't worry about it. Don't keep checking your lives. Don't keep checking your views because it doesn't matter anyways. If you reach one person, you just impacted one person.
00:40:41
Speaker
That's enough. And if you impact 10,000 people, then that's amazing too. But even the power of one, two, three people when you just start out, it actually it also matters. And it just I don't know. i It's something we get so in our heads about. I feel so bad. It has come up a lot for both of us in the last couple of weeks um as we've started our new mastermind group and we're taking on these coaching clients and the amount of people who have that issue and they've spent all of this time creating and it does. It goes into the Instagram graveyard and I want to know what it is.
00:41:15
Speaker
three ble I'm like, ah how can we hook up to your social media so I can see what's in your dress because I bet you're sitting on a goal and of love and value and self expression, but because you're questioning yourself for whatever reason, you're not putting out it out there. And the other thing about that too, is the amount of people who are probably judging you or thinking negatively of you is point one percent So I don't know where that comes from that we think that people are judging us all the time. They're not. People are too worried about what other people are thinking about them too. It's this weird cycle of life that we're like, what are they thinking about me? But that person is thinking, what is somebody else thinking about them? And the truth is that nobody's really thinking about you at all because everybody's living in their own little worlds. Nobody is concerned about you.
00:42:11
Speaker
when you're putting things out on social media, what I actually find is happening is that people are looking at you with like jealous admiration. ahha theellao that range That you're just putting it out there. And so any aspect of like jealousy is actually just man, I wish that I had the amount of confidence to just put it out there and you know, not really care. Like even when I see real estate, I think are a little bit cringy. I'm like, I am so proud of that person's confidence. Like they are not worried. I mean, sometimes we find ourselves or like, how did in my algorithm get me here? I don't get it. But at the same time, and like that person loves themselves. That is incredible. And so
00:42:55
Speaker
I think more often than not, that's what it is. And even when people are you know making rude comments sometimes, which I've actually never seen in the aesthetics world, I know that some people have experienced it, but and whenever I see it, I just instantly think that person is so unhappy with themselves that they think it's appropriate to do that to to a human. That's a human behind that screen. But honestly, in our world, what I have found time and time and time again is again it is just a jealous admiration. It's a self-expression of how they're feeling on the inside and they're projecting it onto you the creator and I think it's just an irrational fear that we get in our head that we're going to be called out or somebody's going to leave a mean comment and I'm saying
00:43:42
Speaker
I view a lot of content and I don't think I've ever seen anybody leave a nasty comment unless it's like this Instagram mega star where they've got, you know, thousands of comments anyways, and because they are getting thousands of comments, they've reached a level where they absolutely don't care about the haters and they're just going to do it anyway. It actually helps them. ahha Exactly. And so they don't feed that. They don't pay attention to it. You just move on and they're already creating other content. And so, um yeah, you guys.
00:44:16
Speaker
You're just here to, like Tiffany said, express yourself and provide value. That's all that you need to be concerned about. And honestly, especially in our world, nobody's judging you. They just aren't. um I've just never really seen that happen. It's like literally 0.1% of people might have a judgment against you. The chances of you getting a negative negative comment, like I can't even imagine it.
00:44:42
Speaker
No, I really can't either. It probably happens every now and then. I've actually never seen it. And if it does, it's out of your control, just like the positive comments are out of your control too. So that's something that I think we, it's just, it is a practice. It's a practice to get there and to be, to show up confidently and consistently and to just realize there are certain things that are out of your control. They may happen, they may not. And I think just like envision,
00:45:11
Speaker
um just like a beautiful outcome that you've changed one person's life with the content you've created. Even if that content is not perfect, it shouldn't be perfect. People are craving um authenticity over perfection. And the way that social media is shaping is going in that direction. It has been for a long time anyway. So it should be a little bit messy. It should be a little bit imperfect. That's what people, people want real stuff, not this like beautiful, perfect,
00:45:40
Speaker
you know, algorithm that paints this unrealistic life. Yes, absolutely. Yeah, the let them theory is interesting. I actually found it in May of 2023. And it's now that the book is out more and more people have caught on to it. And it really is about just not taking things personal. You know, what's interesting is that most of the decisions that other people make that affect us, and they actually don't have anything to do with us.
00:46:08
Speaker
And so I love when you posted that and tied that to social media and what she, you know, she had tied it to social media and the theory will change your life, especially once you realize that.
00:46:21
Speaker
like nobody's really thinking about you. We take too many things personal that just aren't and when you can learn to let things like that go and just like live your life, you're going to be a lot better off. So if you haven't dove into the let them theory, I actually just bought the book as well. And she talks about it on podcasts too all the time.
00:46:42
Speaker
and I was going through issues in my relationship last week and my mom sent that to me. She's like, you have to just let him do what he's going to do. Like if that's what he needs to do. And I'm like, yeah, you're right. I need to just let it happen. Yeah.
00:46:55
Speaker
completely fine. And so there's every aspect of your life that the let them theory can be applied to. And I love that you just tied it to social media. And if you guys haven't dove into that and want to learn that for the rest of your life, I truly could not recommend that enough. I'm so glad that you put that in here today. Thank you. yeah I think it was necessary for sure. Okay, let's talk about some reflections real quick and lessons learned.
00:47:24
Speaker
Um, do you have any key takeaways from 2024 that you would care to share? They can just be key. Absolutely. There's a few things that I noted, um, cause I don't want to keep diving into what I went through in my life last year. But if anybody just, just the highlights I lost, I went through massive lost and a couple of traumatic car accidents in a very short amount of time.
00:47:51
Speaker
And because of that, I have been dealing with mental health issues. Kind of, it's really more my nervous system and the way my brain is working after just being, also before that, I was in survival mode for a long time, knowing that these things were coming. som So last year was an interesting year that way. um And I learned so much from that, though. And that's why like I don't want to run away from last year. I really want to like dive into it and just embrace it and embody it and learn ah how I need to transform because of it. But there are a few things that I noted.
00:48:28
Speaker
And the first one is that I really can go through anything and everything. And that's just really what life is all about. And so the things that happened in my life were truly things that I have always thought the worst thing that could ever happen to me is X thing. They all happened. yeah They all happened like every single one of them. And they all happened a very short amount of time. So that was very traumatic. And at the same time, here I am. You lived.
00:48:55
Speaker
I lived, there's some things that I'm dealing with, but I'm here and I'm still showing up in a big, big, big way. And that's a really good lesson to learn is that ah you will go through crazy things, like unimaginable things, anything is possible, good and bad. And you're going to live through all of it. And that's a super valuable lesson to learn. And that really is what we're here to do anyways, that is what life is, that is the human experience. And so you have to embrace it in everything that that encompasses. The other thing that I learned is that manifestation is real.
00:49:34
Speaker
So there was a lot of things, like I had the most incredible things happen in my life last year too, ah alongside really bad things. And so I manifested winning my bodybuilding competition. Like I swept the show in the midst of all of that. And I manifested that. Like I manifested my new relationship. I manifested the podcast. I manifested the retail sales course being so successful.
00:50:03
Speaker
So it was an interesting year because there were so many manifestations that happened too. And that was such an incredible experience and such a good lesson to learn is that manifestation is real. And those were things that I had affirmations around for years. And so I love that. I think that we go through periods in life where we're sailing along and you kind of said this earlier and then all of a sudden you wake up and you're like, whoa,
00:50:34
Speaker
there was a time when I was trying to manifest that and now it's here and I don't wanna skip over that, right? I wanna soak that in. I need to remember that manifestation is real and that it's it's very, very powerful. um And then also just self-belief last year. Oh my gosh, like self-belief and believe was my word was a really huge theme for me too. So when you really put your mind and your heart into something 110%,
00:51:01
Speaker
And you have that self belief that anything is possible. And then I think the third thing that I would know is the duality of life is so important to just embrace that really, really good things happen and bad things happen too. And that is fine. Yeah. That's truly what we're here to do. So just embracing the duality of life was a big thing for me as well. It reminds me of this song. This is coming up. um What doesn't kill you makes you stronger.
00:51:31
Speaker
by Kelly Clarkson. I mean, as terrible as things are, like you will live through it. And um that's really beautiful, the duality of it and leaning into that. And I think we're probably gonna have to have a whole nother manifestation episode as well. I know that we have in the past, but that would be something really valuable to talk about as well, because I can attest that it is valid and that it does work as well.
00:52:01
Speaker
And I think Jess and I both have some tips that we can share in a future episode um to help that those manifestation practices, um to help you be consistent in them and to bring them to life because it is it really does work. Very real. How about for you?
00:52:19
Speaker
and for I think to just kind of piggyback off of what you said and to really really lean into um to lean into the successes and the challenges is something that I really learned in 2024. I'm still learning to not run through them, especially the successes. One thing that I've always been maybe bad about is when I'm doing something new or something scary, I tend to want to skip over that too.
00:52:49
Speaker
And I don't really lean into that. And, um, I think appreciate it as much as, um, as I should. And so that's like on the podcast episode that I did on Friday on the we share podcast. I, um, yes, that was a nervous for it in the past. I would have been super nervous and I would have just been envisioning, okay. Um, like in a couple hours, I'm going to be, I'm going to be over it.
00:53:14
Speaker
And on the other side of it, and then I'm going to do all like think about all these things. And so instead, I really just envisioned it going so beautifully. I thought about what I would talk about. And I just really lean into the feeling of how it was going to feel during that. And I think that's something that to reflect on the past year, that's really a practice through the challenges I've had.
00:53:38
Speaker
Now I get to use that for the successes as well. Does that make sense? Absolutely. Definitely the challenges that. Arised for me in 2024. Um, they definitely weren't like super hard stuff. They were hard. They, um, were more, I think business challenges than anything. 2023 was a really hard year for me personally, and a lot of personal growth I did in that year. So I was grateful 2024 was more like professional challenges to deal with all necessary.
00:54:07
Speaker
And um all the lessons that I learned through that, um I think just realizing that they're here to serve me. They definitely did serve me because when I got on the other side of a couple professional challenges, I realized, okay, this is why you're showing up because now we need to attack this that I didn't even see prior. And I talked a little bit about that on my 2020 Flora Reflections episode that we put out a couple of weeks ago.
00:54:33
Speaker
Um, but yeah, I think that it's just helping me realize to lean into my successes as well and to not skip over those either. And, um, so I'm really excited about that because I already know we have some changes coming in 2025 that are going to be hard and I'm excited for. And so I think that's really going to serve me through those challenges. And it's interesting cause I already know what they are. I'm sure. There'll be lots of challenges I don't know of yet as we, you know, none of us can really predict the future. um But yeah, I'm not a Liberty to really say what they are yet. um And I'm just like being excited about it. I'm being excited about the unknown. I remember on our last New Year's episode, one thing that I told you that really stuck out to you that you had not heard before is that the obstacle is the way. Yes.
00:55:30
Speaker
And that's something that's coming up for me too, right? And like these things, these challenges, these obstacles that we go through, they're actually the way they really are. Whatever that looks like to you. That is a book if you guys are interested in that, but it is also just it's stoic philosophy, which I absolutely love studying stoicism. And, and that's just what that sounds like to me. And when you embrace that and you realize that it makes it so much easier to lean into these challenges and feel differently about them. Like this is not a bad thing. It is a challenge. It is an obstacle, but it is also the obstacle is the way. Yeah. I just wrote that down again. Thank you for bringing that. up My coach actually reminded me of that last week as well. And I forgot that you had told me that too. And it just gave me chills when you said it again, I wrote it down. I'm going to get that book. I haven't read it yet.
00:56:22
Speaker
Obviously, i need I need to. Yeah, it's a good listen. I listened to it when I was getting at ready and in the morning, you know, years ago, and and I still turn it on sometimes because it it comes up for all of us. Yeah. It's challenging. That's okay. It's what we're here for. Obstacles the way. It's all good. Yeah. And I think really just realizing and leading into the fact that when challenges do arise,
00:56:49
Speaker
And again, like you said, they're here to serve us and to reach our goals that we really want and our big vision, even though it's so scary and it's so hard through it, that really is the way to achieve them. And so not running from it, really leaning into it. Yeah. Thank you for sharing that. Okay. Let's talk about 2025 though. I'm really excited. i don't know Do you feel like you have clarity on your goals? You do.
00:57:18
Speaker
Um, okay. Let's talk really quickly about why setting bold and aligned goals is vital for your success. I think that kind of goes without saying right. but Well, you'd think so, but you would be surprised. I will tell you guys a personal story. My boyfriend's not a goal setter. So he thinks about this completely differently. He thinks, you know, so differently than, than I do. So.
00:57:47
Speaker
Um, so no, it actually isn't ah quite cut and dry for a lot of people, but I do think it is extremely important. Um, setting bold aligned goals. I don't know how to get through life without that. I really don't. Um, in order to know it's, it's just like we've always said before, like you, you can't get anywhere.
00:58:15
Speaker
you're just gonna land random places if you don't have goals, basically, is how I think of this. And so it's really just about being intentional about where you want your life to go and then setting goals that are going to get you there. So it sounds very simple, but I think actually to a lot of people, it isn't. And they're not great at it or they're afraid of it or, you know, they're kind of just, the problem,
00:58:41
Speaker
to me is that if you don't, you really are just subject to whatever whatever life wants to throw at you. And and that is just so much harder. Yeah, you're basically letting um life happen to you instead of living life intentionally if you don't have some goals and a clear direction on how to achieve those goals and a clear direction of where you're going. And i it's really sad because I think that's the majority of people. They're just letting life run the show.
00:59:09
Speaker
and they're just responding to life and all of the stuff that arises with everyday life and being a human and that's hard and it's mundane and it's boring. A lot of it is and no wonder everybody's depressed. I'm literally just thinking that because so it makes it hard to get out of bed every morning. If you don't know where you're going, if you don't have some goals that you're reaching for,
00:59:37
Speaker
I think it it does, it leads to kind of depression and just, I don't know. yeah i I've always been very, very goal oriented. So I have a hard time comprehending that, but there's been times like last week I was recovering from a bad panic episode. And so I'm not fully even embodied when that happens. And so I have a hard time getting out of bed and and it always makes me think of that. Like I think a lot of people actually just live like this.
01:00:06
Speaker
um me And it makes me sad. So setting goals are so important. I don't care if they're big. I don't care if they're small. I think it just gives you direction. And like you said, it's so eloquently, it's just living a more intentional life. And I think it's the reason to get out of bed and taking charge. And really ultimately we are in charge of our lives and we are sent here to be in charge of our lives and to, you know, co-create with our creator or whatever you believe it spiritually. I think there's like, there's lots of layers there.
01:00:38
Speaker
Um, yeah. And so I think identifying some, some strategies for building your personal goals is really important. And I'm just going to share three of them. And then just, you can share some too. the And so I think reflection, looking back on your wins and your challenges.
01:00:57
Speaker
And then number two, clarity, defining what matters most to you and making sure that what matters aligns with your core values. And so if you don't have any core values or if you don't know who you are, definitely needs to start there and start unpacking some stuff. And then number three, your intuition. I think that's a really strong one and you know, you can meditate, listen to what excites you, you touched on that earlier, and then imagine how achieving your goals will feel. And that's part of that manifestation process too. But really leading with your intuition, I think all of us know, I think there's a lot of people that are just really scared to say it out loud. And there's a lot to unpack there too. There's fear of failure, there's fear of judgment, there's, you know, feeling like an imposter, there's so much there. But I think
01:01:51
Speaker
almost everybody, if they really sat with it and asked themselves, what do I really want out of this life? What is my big goal? You already know. And it's usually the vulnerable, really scary answer. And the exciting one that is your answer. Yeah, I would agree. I don't think I would add anything to that except for just a lot of prayer and meditation and sitting with yourself to figure to be able to do those things from a really clear space. Yeah, ah agreed. Love it.
01:02:20
Speaker
hello looking at our notes. What do you have a tip for our listeners on how to keep the harmony between being ambitious and being sustainable in your goals?
01:02:43
Speaker
It's hard. That's really, really hard because as much as I believe in setting massive big bold goals, I also believe in and having very small, achievable, sustainable goals to build the confidence to reach your bigger goals. So um the balance, I'm not so sure as much as I think you should have both. And just as you're creating those really big, bold goals,
01:03:10
Speaker
you just chunk that down into smaller goals. So it's really what it's about because when you are able to reach your smaller goals and just build the momentum and build the confidence and just start stacking your wins, then you're just automatically going to get those bigger goals too. But I do think it's really important to, and I think we've talked about this recently, like check in with yourself because sometimes your goals are going to change too. So,
01:03:36
Speaker
One thing that I really want to implement this year is actually having those check-ins with myself and That way, you know because I've changed goals many times, you know I thought that I wanted one thing and then as the year went on I was like nope don't like this or don't want to do this anymore. This isn't in alignment anymore.
01:03:57
Speaker
And so having those check-in points every quarter, you know, every six months, whatever that is, to just check in and see if that's still something that you really want is really important. But to create the the balance and the harmony, I think just really means that you have both. You do have big bold goals, but at the same time, you have to break that down into the smaller goals that are more achievable and more sustainable. And I'm talking like small, small things. In fact, I'll show you guys.
01:04:27
Speaker
For those of you who can see this, this is how I plan my weeks these days. And what has been really helpful for me is down here, I have a habit tracker. and That was something I really wanted to implement this year. And so that's just my weekly habits. So those are just literally the small weekly goals that I have that I can check in and fill off as I go because It builds that momentum. It just builds that confidence to keep going. And it is so much easier to be sustainable that way. So I don't know if that's the answer you were looking for or if it's a good answer. But I just, so I have to be honest, sometimes when I'm working with people, they'll tell me these insane goals. And I just think
01:05:18
Speaker
I believe anything is possible. I've definitely achieved in insane goals and built a life that I could only dream of, you know, 15 years ago, but it happened in much smaller steps. And like a smaller step, for example, would be like, if you're taken out of bed in the morning when your alarm goes off and not hit snooze. So I think that's what you mean, right? By taking really small, actionable steps that build momentum towards your big, giant vision, your big dream.
01:05:48
Speaker
is going to actually matter more than just having this big eye on the prize, you know, Mount Everest. Well, it's kind of, you know, when we're working with our mastermind group, when we're working with our coaching clients, that's really how we do it. That's part of the process they go through before our calls is that we do, you know, the grand division, but we also do like the smaller visions and that way we know where to start. We know what those stepping stones are that are going to build to that eventually. And then we empower and coach them through it as we work with them. So, um,
01:06:27
Speaker
Yeah, it's it's really the small things. It's really the small things and working backwards. who That's what I was going to say, working backwards from that and getting consistent in the small steps. And if I had anything to add to that, I think a way to keep the harmony between the ambitious side of your brain and then keeping it sustainable and consistent is to also track your progress.
01:06:52
Speaker
and to pay attention and look back and it goes back to that reflection right on what you said. So checking in with yourself, making sure your goals are still aligned with where you want to be and what feels right for you and changing them accordingly. It's all right to change your mind. It's actually really necessary and tracking your progress so that you can celebrate those wins so that you can celebrate, you know, those small little actionable steps, like you said, and give yourself credit for them because that's going to give you momentum.
01:07:21
Speaker
for you to keep going. I think that's so important as well. Love that. Okay.
01:07:31
Speaker
I know we talked about confidence in the beginning. Can we retouch on that a little bit? yeah If you had two one or two confidence building habits for achieving your goals, what would they be?
01:07:47
Speaker
I think it's the same thing as what I said. It's breaking that down into those much more small goals and reaching those consistently. So confidence is built from keeping your word to yourself. That's what I was looking for. I'm glad you said it. So that i mean so that's really the point is that you know when you say, and we talked about this in our group this past week, like when you set your alarm for 6 AM, you do that for a reason.
01:08:17
Speaker
And so when your alarm goes off at 6 AM, you need to just get up because you said that that's what you were going to do. That's why you set your alarm for that time. So you need to just get out of bed. It literally is that small. If you said that you were going to drink a gallon of water that day, just do it. It's literally the smallest things done time and time again, and following through on those commitments that you make to yourself, no matter how big, no matter how small. Yeah.
01:08:46
Speaker
That is where confidence comes from. And that's where my confidence has come from is because I've done the little things. I've done the big things I've followed through. I've reached my goals and that's how I have been able to do that and how I've been able to build this life for myself and be confident in front of a room of a hundred people. So yeah. Yeah. Because you're telling your, I think higher self, the self that, um,
01:09:11
Speaker
you're the higher self, the higher part of you that's already living out that big dream. You're telling yourself that yes, you can show up when it's hard. And yes, you have stamina within that. And yes, you're going to keep those, those promises that you make to yourself. And like you said, that's just going to build that momentum and add to your confidence bake. And if I had anything to add to that, my tip would be to step out outside of your comfort zone.
01:09:36
Speaker
Yes, I'm so glad you said that because that's a million person percent. Get uncomfortable. Get uncomfortable. Do the scary thing and and try something new. and Invest in yourself. And that's really going to add to your confidence bank as well. Even if on the other side of it, you feel like, oh my gosh, that was a complete failure or I blundered through it or I didn't say this when I mentioned that or whatever it is. If you were imperfect in it and it can be anything.
01:10:05
Speaker
try something new, do something outside of that comfort zone. It really is going to add to your confidence level. And it's a really easy way to build confidence. It's scary, but it's really easy. Yes. That's a good answer. Okay. So now let's get into some personal questions for 2025, for the new year. So we're just gonna, if we want to just hit these randomly,
01:10:32
Speaker
Um, and we'll just kind of do a back and forth and we'll just ask each other like five questions. Does that sound good to you? Yeah. Do I need to pull up that same sheet? You have it. Um, also did you right now? I actually have. Oh, you do. Yeah. I kind of do to an extent. So I think, okay. You can go first. Okay. Um, what are some of your top priorities for 2025? Um,
01:11:02
Speaker
Top priorities, let's see. Well, I've already touched on it to really lean into um the changes that are coming and to not run from them and to go into it with an open mind that i they're here to serve me and I'm here to learn something from them. And yeah, so that's one of them. Another one is interestingly enough,
01:11:31
Speaker
I had this thought, and then I saw that Marty, the Med Spa mentor, mentioned this the other day. She actually left me a comment on one of my posts. And um it's basically like, bring back the business that was pre-COVID. And that's really been a top priority for me is ah COVID was crazy. COVID, and I think looking back was purposeful in a lot of ways because I was able to launch my online store and the business kind of blew up. So it was all, there was some good during COVID and then the business like grew so fast. And now I want to be really, really intentional on, I think just perfecting our services and perfecting our approach and just like, go and it goes back to the going deeper, not wider and really leaning into what we have, what we've built, the team that I have,
01:12:29
Speaker
And, um, I think just bringing back that really, um, cause I think back to the business I started when I was a solo esthetician and I was very hungry and I was very eager and yes, I didn't have any boundaries in my business. Then I worked really long hours and I worked whenever a client needed me to, and I worked late at night. And then I implemented those boundaries. And then I think just like, not to say some of that magic has gotten lost.
01:13:00
Speaker
And I think that we just need to like dive back deep. Does that make sense? Okay. So that's really, I think a top priority is just to like go deeper into what I've built. And I know that by doing that, all my reach will grow wider through that, but it's really just going back into what, what we have in front of us, what we have right now. Hopefully that makes sense.
01:13:27
Speaker
Yes, because my answer is very similar to that. My top priorities for 2025 besides just doing a lot of healing work is to, it's the exact same thing. I just need to be going deeper. I already have condensed the amount of work that I was doing in Utah. I literally have cut down about 75%.
01:13:55
Speaker
of that and so that has opened up the availability for me to go deeper on exactly what you just said like that. I've already built this. I've already built this incredible territory in Idaho um and this beautiful coaching business, this retail course, this podcast like these things already exist, I just need to go deeper into them. And going back to kind of what you said, for me, when I took this position with Eminence, one thing that I promised myself, you know, this is 12 years ago, was that I would
01:14:32
Speaker
and actually not when I started working with Eminence, when I took on Idaho as a rep myself. So I had been a trainer for four years before that. So it's seven and a half years, I believe it's been since I took on this territory. I promised myself I would be all about quality and not quantity. yeah But you know what, with time, it just happened naturally and there's reasons for that. And I just wanna get away from that. I could open up,
01:15:00
Speaker
tons of accounts, but I just don't want to do that anymore. I could have kept all of my work in Utah, but at the end of the day, I just, I really want to be so deeply intentional and, and pour myself deeper into what I've already built and what I've already done. And, and even just being more intentional about that, which is one of my words for the year is the intention. I've again, already opened up opportunities to be able to go deeper. Yeah.
01:15:30
Speaker
It just happens. It's really the wildest thing. And it's just so beautiful that it does tend to work out that way. So yeah, it sounds like our priorities are the same. I mean, that I made that post to yesterday because I'm hearing that from a lot of people, you know, just the deeper not wider concept. And it's funny, because when we recorded those episodes,
01:15:54
Speaker
It was just a concept that really landed with us and resonated with us when we were listening to that at my left episode, but it's actually changed the trajectory of both of our businesses and a lot of people who listened. And it's kind of a natural way that I've seen most beauty professionals going to. So it's such a good concept and really valuable, super powerful.
01:16:15
Speaker
So powerful. And like we talked about last night, it's just kind of prompted this energetic shift in the industry and definitely I think beyond the aesthetics industry as well. And I am here for it. And I love it because I know that it will continue to fuel our own um concept of going deeper, not wider when more on board with that same concept. So I love it so much. That's a good one. Your turn.
01:16:42
Speaker
i What's one habit you want to create this year?
01:16:51
Speaker
Daily healing habits. Oh yeah. I'm trying to figure out what that looks like but yes more daily healing habits and I've gotten back into affirmations. I have two thanks to your Christmas gift.
01:17:09
Speaker
Oh, yeah, I actually have my own and I haven't dove into it quite yet. But I yeah when I had that reflection that manifestation is real, I do believe that that helped me manifest so much. And so because there's so much healing that I need to go through and so much intention that I have for this year, my mind immediately went there. And I just prayed before I just made my list of intentions. And it took me a few days or sorry, affirmation.
01:17:37
Speaker
But yeah, affirmations are really powerful. So more daily healing practices and yeah, daily affirmations and getting back into that. I love that. And yeah, I think that's definitely just your heart is calling for that. And so I'm happy to hear you say that. I want to add something else that we talked about recently is that I don't want to continue overloading myself with information such as the amount of self-help and spirituality and business stuff that I'm in taking all the time, I, oddly enough, want to cut down on it. So I tend to overload my system with all of that information constantly. It's just constant podcasts, constant books. I'm reading, I'm listening. I'm, you know, the whole thing.
01:18:27
Speaker
but I don't actually think that's very helpful because I think that sort of crowds your energetic space and kind of your brain power. I don't even hear most of it at that point. I just turn it on for like the vibes and hoping that I can get into it. So I've been a lot more intentional with listening to one podcast per day and probably re-listening to it too later in the day just to make sure that I really got out of it what I could. So I wanna be more intentional that way of actually hearing and implementing and soaking up what I'm listening to instead of like, again, going deeper and not wider and inundating my energy with too much information. Because you also need to allow the space for your own intuition to be able to drop in. And so sometimes when you're overdoing stuff like that, and you're always reading and you're listening and you're, you know, music all the time, you're really blocking your energetic space from anything getting in that needs to get in. Like last night I went out on a hike and it was just total silence. I wasn't listening to anything. There really wasn't a lot of people around and I was able to really deeply connect and get a lot of messages and
01:19:44
Speaker
just beautiful downloads and inspiration and love that I needed to get because I'm not just completely crowding my field with all of that type of stuff. So and yeah, that's kind of another habit that I am working on too. It's just like one thing at a time, chill the heck out. One thing at a time is more powerful. yeah when you're just chasing one rabbit, you'll probably catch it. If you're trying to chase 10, you're not going to get any rabbits because you're going to be going crazy. So Oh my gosh, I love that. I think I'm glad that you brought that up because I think I know you're right. It can be a little bit addicting to constantly be pouring information into your system, especially for high achieving people like we are.
01:20:34
Speaker
And, um, and then it's interesting when you're like, I don't know, I don't have any creativity. I don't have any new ideas. I don't, because you don't even have the space for your brain or to connect to your soul, basically where we get our information. So I'm so glad that you brought that up. It's very valid. Um, one habit that I want to create this year is my word of 2025. My word of the year is consistency.
01:21:00
Speaker
And so I'm really leaning into that and just trying to build some consistency around my particularly small habits, my small goals that I have, because I tend to do really well for a while. And then when life happens, it throws me right off of track the track and then I kind of everything goes out the window. It's just like very quick domino effect. And so I think just really leaning into that those consistent habits that I easily let go of when things get hard will serve me well, and they already have. And so yeah, that's that's a habit that I'm leaning into this year. Love it.
01:21:51
Speaker
What is one bold goal you've been hesitant to pursue? I didn't even put that on my list because i and we can get it because I don't have an answer to this one either. oh And bold goal that I have been hesitant to pursue is yeah, I'm not really sure I ah honestly probably or reorganizing my finances.
01:22:20
Speaker
Yeah, that's it. There's just a lot of anxiety there. There's a lot of discomfort there. And so I have had it on my, you know, to do list for a long time, I mean, years and I just haven't ever done it or dove into it as deeply as I would like to. That's a really bold goal. And then um yeah, that's probably what I would say. Okay.
01:22:45
Speaker
I don't have an answer to this one, so that's not very fair of me to ask that one. You can ask me a different one. Okay. um oh What do you need to let go of to move forward?
01:23:07
Speaker
Some relationships that I love dearly and yeah, Okay. And I don't know if it's a full let go, it's just going to, the relationships are going to change. And they will, I think, I actually know they'll evolve. They're just not going to stay the same. And that's uncomfortable. And that's a little scary. And I'm leaning into that. And so, and I know it's coming. here go in I know. Yeah, I went down that road a couple of years ago. It's hard.
01:23:43
Speaker
Yeah, it's a really hard thing to do, but it just has to happen. The obstacle is the way. The obstacle is the way. Oh, yes. What do I need to let go of to move forward is fear. I've never experienced fear until recently. So that it's been so interesting for me to to dive into because I'm the most fearless person I think that I've ever met. I've really never had a ah lot of fear. I mean, many fears, sure. and But yeah, this this new thing that's happening with me, this amount of fear and
01:24:21
Speaker
the experiences of panic and all of that. I'm i'm holding on to fear in my energy system and ah it's a top priority for me to figure that out and heal it and let go of it. So it's it's just so interesting because it's not who I am, which makes the whole experience that much more uncomfortable. And then also guilt.
01:24:42
Speaker
and shame. I really have never known that I struggled with shame until until recently, just having conversations with my mom, she's just kind of helped me to realize where I'm holding on to some of that and and have a little bit of guilt over just a couple of different things, but but they're big things. And so yeah, those are some things that I really need to let go of. Those are more personal. They're not very business oriented, but of course when you can let go of those things,
01:25:14
Speaker
It just opens up you know the rest of your life and translates into every area. But yeah, it's just interesting. like I swear this last year of my life, I'm just being faced with these emotions I've never experienced before. you know Or even just becoming aware of them. Tiffany and I had a conversation a few days ago about something I'm still struggling with that I had no idea and that I was. And it's showing up in situations in my life. and those feelings of this past experience keep coming up for me when I thought I was completely fine. Yeah, right. And I'm not and I'm starting therapy on Wednesday. And that's great. It's this very thing to do you guys feel free to just go to therapy and work things out when things are coming up for you that you're like, wow, I thought that I had a handle on these things and I definitely don't. Definitely don't. So yeah, I think it's so courageous to just even talk about it.
01:26:09
Speaker
and face it head on. And it goes back to what we were talking about in the beginning of like not running from it, really just leading into it, asking, being curious about it. Like why, why is it here with coming up and how is it here to serve me? And um yeah, I mean, I've been to, I've been going to therapy for the last two plus years and that's changed my life. And it's helped me see things from a different perspective that, well, it's just helped me work through things that I wasn't able to work through on my own. And so very powerful tool.
01:26:39
Speaker
No shame in that at all. Thank you for sharing that. Absolutely. Let's do one more. I'm scanning our list. How can I contribute more to my community or causes I care about? Do you have any
01:26:57
Speaker
I think going deeper in my coaching and share getting back on my social media more, um because I already know what my my legacy is in the industry. I already know what the goal is. I already know what my intention and my purpose is. I just need to be putting it out there a little bit more on social media, I think, and then building the website and being able to gain and attract more people our way. I really love that so much. Same. Right there with you.
01:27:28
Speaker
I think that's just, will be a continuing goal for both of us. One um way that I would like to contribute more to my personal community is to build some community between the beauty professionals in salmon, something that I've been mulling around for a while. And I think we all have this like level of respect for each other. We have a ton of hairstylists in salmon, like a ton.
01:27:55
Speaker
And they're all so super busy and it's always been so incredible. Cause salmon, if you guys don't know, we are a town of about 3000 people. So rural, we're in the middle of nowhere. We're far away from all other civilization and all these hairstylists especially are just booming. And we're the aesthetic side of things is continuing to grow in salmon as well. And I think I have a lot to bring to the table.
01:28:25
Speaker
through what I've learned doing this coaching with you Jess and with everything. And I think like, I mean, my, one of my main goals across the board and everything I do is to help raise the vibration of the aesthetics industry and to create community over competition and to create this sisterhood. And so it just is like something that keeps coming up for me and it's not going away. And so I'm just going to trust that I probably need to at least spearhead it or lead it in some way.
01:28:54
Speaker
It's a little scary um because again, I have like those, you know, am I the imposter syndrome that likes to wear its head all the time? But I think that's going to be one of my goals this year is to just try and bring some community and collaboration together in a physical space, not just an online space. And so I don't know exactly how that's going to look, but it's on my goal list. Amazing.
01:29:18
Speaker
I like that. I actually don't think that would be too hard to do. Yeah, I don't think so either. And even if it's just like a coffee date once a month, then we can all just get together and bounce ideas or something like that. I would love to do it. Should we do a bonus question just for funsies? Yeah. Why do you have one in mind? No, I want you to pick it up. Okay. Um,
01:29:45
Speaker
yeah How will you know when you read this, one year from now, if you are successful? Notice that's actually something that I added to the workbook experience for all of our coaching clients this year too, is how are you going to know when you are successful? One year from now? Yeah. So one year from now, or let's say like by next New Year's. Okay.
01:30:10
Speaker
How are you going to know if you are successful in everything that you want to do? And you don't even need to answer that. Maybe that's just something that we put out there for everyone else to even think about. But I think it is one of the most important questions is that when you have your goals and you're setting your intentions, how are you going to know? Well, I think for me, what's coming up is um envisioning the end result and leaning into how it's going to feel.
01:30:40
Speaker
and then just working backwards from there. And I think it just gives gives you a really simple roadmap when you can do that and meditate with it and pray about it and really, really, really, really envision very crystal clear the feeling that you're going to have when you reach these goals. And then it just kind of paints this beautiful roadmap for you to get there. It kind of just Paves the way and it's, I mean, is that answer your question? I think so. Yeah. I mean, I think there's, there's also so many answers. I think your numbers are going to reflect it. True. No matter what, I think the way you feel is going to reflect it.
01:31:19
Speaker
I think ah when you're looking back and you just think, um, you know, did these things end up manifesting? Did I actually, you know, when you had those concrete goals, like did that actually happen? How am I feeling? Are my numbers really reflecting that? Is my energy really reflecting that? I think it's important to pinpoint that so that when you do get there, you're able to look back and be like, yes, I was really successful in what my intentions were for this year. And I'm like, so satisfied.
01:31:48
Speaker
with at least 75% of it because so much can change too within a year. But I truly think being able to look back and be so satisfied with what happened ah with the past year and if you're able to like really match and go back through these questions, then you did an incredible job. I love that so much.
01:32:10
Speaker
And I think it's important, it's going to be important as you paint your vision to be, for it to be really crystal clear so that your, your number, your know, when you look back, your numbers actually match what you, what your goal was. And so to not just have this very broad, open-ended goal or dream to really have some very specific ones. Specifics are so important. So the universe knows exactly how to deliver what it is you want.
01:32:38
Speaker
yeah Something that actually another priority I would like to put on my list is get very specific because I'm always a little bit scared. I think it's normal to actually put down on paper an actual number in fear of not reaching it. And so, and I think that's kind of typical for most people. So yeah, I'm going to apply those same principles to myself.

Okay, this has been such a beautiful episode, another long one that I love here. I used to not love long podcast episodes. And my mind has changed on them a little bit. I love them so much because they're so we covered a lot today, lots of value. um Let's talk about how, well, first, maybe we let's talk about or let's encourage our listeners. We really want you guys to reflect on your own goals and priorities for 2025. If you're listening to this episode, grab a notebook or a journal and write, write, write it down on paper. I think it's really important to get out of your head and to put it physically down on paper. So again, the universe can deliver what it is you want and it makes it real. Right. And then do you have anything to add to that Jess? No.
01:33:52
Speaker
No, please take some time to do it. It's so important. here And then we definitely want to make sure you guys are following along so that you know when we have new episodes coming out. um You know, we also post our own personal offers on the Beyond Aesthetics page.
