And I feel like that was more true two, three years ago, but I think especially as the brand is being so tainted by the author and so used as a, if you, the fact that the author herself has even said, if you support this, it is supporting me and is paying for me to be an awful person.

Just as Rio playfully suggests to Agatha that they betray the others, which is overheard by everyone, the teen accidentally plays a record backwards, summoning a demon that turns out to be the source of the curse in Alice's family. To fight it, the group plays Lorna's version of the ballad, revealed to be a protection spell, and Alice is able to kill the demon.
