There are years that ask us to pause — and years that ask us to move.

In this episode, we explore the energy of the Fire Horse and what it means to move forward with power, authenticity, and alignment without burning ourselves out.

This is a conversation for estheticians who are ready to trust their instincts, protect their nervous systems, and build momentum that actually supports their bodies, businesses, and lives. We talk about embodied confidence, regulated movement, and why authenticity is no longer optional — it’s essential.

This is not a hustle year.
It’s a year of truth in motion.

00:00:40
Speaker
My name is Jessica Peterson. And we're so excited to be here today and welcome you to the new Happy freaking new year.

Reflecting on Past Year and Fire Horse Energy

00:00:56
Speaker
think everyone is ready to honor twenty twenty five and say See you later. It's been a ride, but bye-bye. No, thank you.
00:01:11
Speaker
Black, we're on the other side. Yeah, absolutely. i do think that there's a process of honoring while all of that was. And we always say two things can always be true. We can be ready to move on and we can. also just honor everything that we learned and everything that happened. And it was a tricky year. Shedding is not an easy thing to so do. And now we get to move into a whole new energy, which is the fire horse energy.
00:01:39
Speaker
oh I just got a little chills just saying that out loud. Cause it's not just horse energy. It's actual fire horse energy. which makes it that much more powerful. There's a kind of momentum that exhausts us. And there's a kind that feels like coming home to ourselves.
00:01:57
Speaker
Firehorse energy is the second kind. It's power that doesn't abandon the body. It's movement that doesn't cost you your nervous system. This year isn't asking us to do more. It's asking us to move truthfully in our bodies, our businesses, our careers, our lives.
00:02:18
Speaker
when you think about the momentum you've had this past year, what has felt like the exhausting kind versus the empowering kind?

Jessica's Personal Journey to Self-Acceptance

00:02:28
Speaker
For me personally, i feel like the exhausting kind is that type of energy of like keeping up with everybody else and feeling like I'm not there yet, feeling like I always have this Um, this goal to reach and kind of like, you know, I'll be happy when that's really what I think I've been in that. Or actually I take that back in 2025. I unraveled myself from that type of energy I had been in for the several years prior.
00:03:00
Speaker
So I think 2025 for me has been a lot about unraveling all of that and looking back on it, it does feel so exhausting. And so, you know, now moving forward, especially at the beginning of the new year, um, it feels just so empowering to just like um,
00:03:21
Speaker
be present and be, i don't want to say content because content to me feels a little bit stagnant and feels a little bit like I'm settling, but just be like super grateful for where I'm at right now and know that I'm like where my feet are right now is where I'm supposed to be.
00:03:42
Speaker
i love that. Yeah. Yeah. I also hear you saying, and I feel that this is true for a lot of people, myself included, that especially the last few years, 2025, 24, and even 23, there was a lot of just survival mode energy were completing that nine-year cycle is how that showed up for a lot of people.

Transition from Survival Mode to Self-Empowerment

00:04:06
Speaker
and it is interesting how that is suddenly gone
00:04:13
Speaker
Do you feel like that? It's all of the sudden you are like, Oh, we're moving forward now. And we feel great about it. I feel like more alive versus being in an energy of survival.
00:04:25
Speaker
Which actually to sum up what I just said, it feels like a regulated nervous system. Now it feels like I'm regulated. and I, and I feel like I can speak for others as well, where a lot of us have just like I don't know, kind of come home to ourselves. And we're not in that survival mode. We're not just, you know, trying to thrive by surviving or however that saying goes. We're just regulated. were um There's a lot more peace. There's a lot more joy. um and it feels so good. Yeah.
00:04:58
Speaker
when we shed, right? When we, when we end the year of the snake and we kind of finalize that process of coming home to ourselves through a shedding process, it is really empowering. You know, it's almost like, okay, now we've shed everything and we've completed that process. And there is just this feeling of empowerment that I think is what is leading into this momentum that most of us are feeling right now. yeah It's just this momentum from being at home in ourselves. And like you said, having that, that joy, it's just, it's a really interesting energy. And we really noticed it yesterday morning as we wrapped up that second group, we had such a powerful call. These are really, powerful this group was amazing. They've, um,
00:05:46
Speaker
but they've really brought a different energy and we really wrapped up with a really powerful energy. And that's what we noticed from all of them. By the time that the call was almost wrapped up, I was like, you know here's what I'm observing is that all of you seem to have landed in this place of being home with yourselves and feeling the self-empowerment And then that is where your words of the year and your momentum and your excitement, you know, is coming from and you're just ready to go. And so I think you're right when you're like, I can speak for others. That is the experience that we're having with people. Yeah, absolutely. it was such a beautiful experience yesterday on our mastermind call and you and I both, we discussed it. We were like, wow. And I will say like, I think
00:06:31
Speaker
to give credit, it wasn't just the work

Authenticity in the Noisy Esthetics Industry

00:06:35
Speaker
in 2025. I think so many of us, so many estheticians have been, you know, having these spiritual awakenings over the last several years or within this nine year cycle and, um, having these, you know, where we've been healing actually. And 2025 was just kind that, um,
00:06:52
Speaker
kind of that I don't know, a way to put a pin in it and really wrap things up. And i don't know, it's just, it's been, it's really beautiful to look at it as a whole and kind of see it now for what it is. And it gives me so much excitement moving forward.
00:07:10
Speaker
Yes. A lot of estheticians can, can feel and have been feeling for the last several years that the industry has gotten really noisy. yeah Yeah. Actually it comes up a lot, a lot.
00:07:23
Speaker
I would bet anything that this fire horse energy just based on already what we're feeling ourselves and what we're observing with our coaching clients is that people are now letting go of that noise and saying, but what do I bring to the table? And my authenticity is now what matters. And I'm not going to, and in fact, one of our members was like, I'm done abandoning myself for the sake of, you know, following the crowd or protecting other people's feelings or this and that. And so it is so interesting how we've gone from everything's really noisy as an esthetician and being in this space.
00:08:03
Speaker
I think that this energy is actually, and one thing we'll obviously go over today is now we've landed back in this ah authenticity and and not just in our personal lives, come home to ourselves, but I think that as professionals, we are coming home to ourselves as well.
00:08:23
Speaker
And it's so cool to see because our industry is shifting and rising. And it's really cool to watch beauty professionals and estheticians move through this and in such a beautiful way and realize that you are the secret sauce.

Reclaiming Power Through Self-Sovereignty

00:08:40
Speaker
And when you can really just own that and stop abandoning yourself and, um,
00:08:47
Speaker
coming up against the the noise that really is how you rise and where your momentum is going to come from it is a sense of that you know sovereignty over ourselves and i think until you have full sovereignty over yourself or you're you're at least moving into it and like practicing it it is hard to move forward with momentum because you're not moving from an authentic space Yeah, absolutely. Can we land on sovereignty for a second? Oh, yeah.
00:09:13
Speaker
Can you dive into that? I mean, i obviously know what it means. At the same time, though, it's like come up so many times in the last two days. Absolutely. yeah I did talk about it on my episode because it was something that really was landing with me.
00:09:29
Speaker
And ah ah self-sovereignty is basically just taking your power and your authority back. And the way that you do that is by first realizing where you're giving your power and authority to. you know the The episode that I recorded, was it was about social media, you know because I do think that that is a really common theme, but it can be so many different things. And so in order to take your power and your authority back so that you can have your self-sovereignty back, you know, which is basically just taking back your time, your energy, your attention, your nervous

Cultivating Empowerment Through Self-Trust

00:10:06
Speaker
system. And really that encompasses your entire reality, like your reality, because everybody lives in their own reality.
00:10:16
Speaker
is just getting really honest with yourself about where you're outsourcing those things. So obviously, like I said, the common one is social media. But I mean, I think it's a lot of things. I think it is also outsourcing like your validation to a significant other or your family is probably the second biggest one that we see Yeah. In comparison to other estheticians, sometimes that's on social media, but sometimes it's not.
00:10:45
Speaker
Yeah. It can be in communities for sure. Yeah. Yeah. So once you get honest with yourself about that, then you can really start doing the work to you know, figure out how to stop outsourcing that. And there's a lot of work that's going to have to come with that, of course. But then once you do, then you're really able to just start taking your your own power and authority over your reality. i mean your reality.
00:11:13
Speaker
And there's nothing more important than that. And you know, what's so interesting Tiff is that i think that that is what 2026 is going to be. I think there will be a lot less scrolling. i think we are being asked to come back to our inner world and shaping our realities and making our own inner world juicy and delicious,
00:11:38
Speaker
peaceful, calm, because that's where the empowerment comes from is from our own inner world. And so I do think that that is another theme of this fire horse energy is, is a lot of self-sovereignty.
00:11:53
Speaker
the, the term self-trust obviously came to me just now. And that is something that we heard from, from people yesterday and the group. And it's, it's a theme that had come up for me too, where I just want to lean back into the trust with myself. I trust the universe now, but do I really trust myself to do certain things and accomplish certain things and be able to sit down and get some work done you you know, different things like

Rebuilding in Alignment and Body Awareness

00:12:20
Speaker
that. So I think that with self-sovereignty does come this delicious self-trust for us to begin working on too. And that is what is being asked of us. Come home to yourself, come home to your self-sovereignty and lean back into the trust in yourself.
00:12:38
Speaker
I wholeheartedly agree. That's really beautiful. Yeah. ah Where have you personally felt a shift in your body from 2025 to 2026? I mean, just speaking of sovereignty and paying attention to your nervous system, has any, has anything noticeable shifted for you there?
00:13:03
Speaker
It's going to sound so cheesy, but honestly, 2025 felt like I had just been stripped to naked and everybody could see it. That's how it felt to me, which makes perfect sense. I didn't even know it was the year of the snake when those feelings started to arise for me. So obviously it was like, you know, on track. but that's how it felt. And so, and now, and I, I, I'm hearing what you're saying about self-sovereignty and self-trust and coming home to yourself. And, and that just feels so peaceful in my body. And so like such confirmation, you know, and I have this discernment moving forward and
00:13:48
Speaker
It just feels safe. You know, i think, I think a lot of us, myself definitely included needed to be stripped down to rebuild in a safer way.
00:14:00
Speaker
if that makes sense. Absolutely. Ooh, that really landed with me too. Yeah. ah I mean, it didn't feel good though. Well, no, healing sounds great. Healing sounds yeah thick and nothing could be further from the truth.
00:14:18
Speaker
It's romantic on the other side of it, but when you're going through it it, it does feel like you're just being stripped down naked and like starting over and being, you know, put back together, healed and and safe. I think there's a lot of power in getting more in touch with our bodies. And that is another part of, I think, self-sovereignty and coming home to yourself is learning how to check in with how you're feeling in your body. Mm-hmm. It's really easy to run away from your body and to become disembodied. When you're on social media, you're disembodied. When you are
00:14:53
Speaker
um and comparing yourself to other people, when you're running yourself ragged. I mean, there's just so many times where we're just not really in our body or feeling safe in our body.
00:15:06
Speaker
And i am learning to check in with my body and have more of an awareness of how I'm really feeling in my body right now. Are things feeling safe? Am feeling good and calm and peaceful? and if I'm not, you know I want to fix that and take some deep breaths and come back to the present moment.
00:15:28
Speaker
And I do, again, think that that will be a really big theme moving into this new year is coming home to our bodies and learning how to check back in with ourselves. And like you said, discern what's feeling really good right now and what is not feeling good right now. And that's a high state of self-awareness. It really is. And I i will even say like disembodied to me, it feels numb.
00:15:55
Speaker
You know, when I'm disembodied, I think it's just, I'm numb. I'm not connected. I'm not, I'm just floating, you know? um and I will say though, that like I've, I'm, I'm such an intuitive person and i have always had this self-trust in this, in this inner guidance system where my body does tell me and I've all, I mean, it's trauma is what it is. And so I've been able to utilize that too. And in my advantage, Um, but what's interesting is like the last, I don't know, six or eight weeks of like, I think because,
00:16:31
Speaker
Because I've done all this work and because I've been on this path, like my, my intuition is stronger than ever in a good way though. You know, it's not my, my nervous system isn't looking for all the signs that are like could go wrong. Like I have lived my whole life. It's actually like tuned into all of the juicy, like you said, delicious, romantic, um,
00:16:56
Speaker
wonderful possibilities and resources and all of these things that are like going right. i don't know. It's so really cool. That is really cool. I have a good question for you and I haven't asked you this.

Fire Horse Energy and Instinctual Decision-Making

00:17:10
Speaker
yeah so We're both pretty spiritually connected. Did you go through a phase anytime over the last few years where you actually became disconnected and it felt like you're like, wait, what happened? know? And now all of sudden, do you feel reconnected?
00:17:27
Speaker
oh yeah. I mean, i yeah I went through years where I was disconnected spiritually and disconnected with my body. And I think I was in this numb state and it was truly survival mode. yeah And it was, um refusal to,
00:17:43
Speaker
to ah I don't know, open up certain doors and be honest with myself and, you know, and so, um, yeah. And, And again, that's another part of like coming home, actually going back to like being stripped naked and that naked feeling in a, if I want to romanticize that though, and as I should, it feels like being reborn and that, and again, that's like so spiritual and it's sounds tacky in a way, but I don't even care, you know? And so why, why not let's romanticize this. Right.
00:18:21
Speaker
yeah I definitely agree.
00:18:26
Speaker
Okay. Fire horse energy is often misunderstood. It's not chaos. It's not rushing. It's not reckless ambition. Fire horse energy is vitality with direction.
00:18:40
Speaker
A horse moves because it's connected to instinct. It knows when it's time to go and when it's time to stop. Firehorse energy represents embodied confidence, instinctual decision-making forward movement rooted in self-trust power that doesn't need to prove itself.
00:19:00
Speaker
and This is a year of truth in motion. o I have chills. I know that is a really good. Where have you felt your instincts speak louder this season?
00:19:15
Speaker
You might have to help me on this. um And maybe not this season. Maybe that's not the right way to phrase that. But just in, I don't know, recently. Over the last year.
00:19:31
Speaker
Well, what's coming to me.
00:19:37
Speaker
is actually the sense of coming home to safety in my body so that I can feel my instincts again and have that discernment. That's really what's coming to me is that, you know, for years and years and years, I was led spiritually. I just follow my heart. I follow my instincts.
00:19:57
Speaker
But again, when you're in survival mode, that's really difficult to do because you lose your ability connection to your body. And so you lose a lot of instinct and you're, you're moving without intention, you know, kind of like you just said, the, the, the energy that we're moving into is like being led with vitality and direction. It's truth in motion. It's all these things. And, um, you know, I think that,
00:20:27
Speaker
After my healing process last year, not that I'm not still in a healing process and there's so much that I'm working on, i have felt my instincts speaking louder this season ah because I've reconnected with my body. Now, the instinct I would say that's coming up for me the most is just the instincts that I've been expressing here and on social media in this business is the evolution that we're going through in our industry right now. And just my instinctual pull to guiding people through that.
00:21:02
Speaker
That's my best answer that I can come up with on the spot because I didn't really read super thoroughly through this outline, you guys. So they're like most of my answers are just going to come from the heart and like where I'm really at in the moment. But that is really what's coming to me is yeah, instinctually, I'm like, there is something so big going on. And I just can't wait to guide people and lead people through that. And um allow what that looks like to flow as as it comes right and be able to tune into my body enough, and my instincts enough to put it out there for you guys.

Connecting with the Body and Romanticizing Daily Tasks

00:21:45
Speaker
I want to stay here for a second. Cause I feel like what, a what could we tell our listeners or somebody who's listening, who is like, I don't know how to tune into my body. Like yeah or yesterday i had, we were having this conversation with somebody. ah so the best way to do this, and this is actually a therapy technique is to just tune back into your five senses. uh,
00:22:13
Speaker
What do i smell? In the moment, you got to close your eyes. Take a deep breath. Name what do you smell? What do you see? What do you feel? What do you hear? And what do you taste?
00:22:30
Speaker
So when you can tune back into your five senses, that's going to bring you back into your body. And then just ask yourself, and how do I feel right now?
00:22:41
Speaker
What am i feeling right now? So once you've come back into your body through using your five senses, then you're better able to tune into what you're actually feeling. feeling when we're busy, when we're in survival mode, when we're, you know, being really distracted, you you can't really tune into how you're really feeling. You're just moving.
00:23:05
Speaker
i think we're being asked to not do that anymore, you know, or be self-aware enough to be able to catch ou ourselves when we're doing that.
00:23:16
Speaker
Yes. Makes sense. Yes. So that would be my best suggestion. I love it. And I think that's so valid. And I, the only thing I would add to that is like, you need to like put your phone down, probably need to go to a quiet place by yourself, go for a walk. That was your best advice yesterday when we were talking about this, um, you know, and try and at least get quiet and,
00:23:39
Speaker
be by yourself so that you can't like not distracted, you know, you don't want to try and do this when you're scrolling, scrolling social media. maybe even if you're driving in your car, I think that could be a great place to do it as well.
00:23:50
Speaker
Yeah, I would agree with that. And i think a key that you said is by yourself. Yeah. yeah Because we, we, we absorb energy, yeah you know, good, bad, whatever. And when we're trying to tune into our own energy, we have to, you know, put some, put some protection around our own energy so that we can really um tune into it.
00:24:14
Speaker
And most estheticians and beauty professionals are very empathic. And so we're we're really taking on other people's energy around us. And so it does make it a lot harder to stay really grounded in your own body and energy. as beauty professionals is something that even 22 years later for me, it's still a practice and something that we want to continue working on. But I think for beauty professionals, especially that's why you and I talk so much about
00:24:48
Speaker
having a little bit of a morning routine, whatever that looks like, and turning basic everyday things into romantic gestures to yourself, you know, because um we we can't always, if you're very empathic, we can't always tune into ourselves that easily. and so finding those quiet moments and leaning harder into them is kind of what works best. You know, we're not we're not saying add anything into your life except for a walk.
00:25:24
Speaker
When it's in the morning, those are a couple of things. But other than that, I do think it's about I always say like light a candle when you're getting ready. know what mean? Or light a candle on your nightstand as you're falling asleep or something, you know, so just romanticize and turn these daily things into ceremony and just those moments that you do have to yourself.
00:25:49
Speaker
Turn those into ceremony instead of distracting yourself with TV or social media, right? In fact, I would rather these days read a fantasy book at night, which is very new for me. I used to not be into that at all, but I feel lately like what feels best for me and my reality is to lay in bed at night and fill my mind with fantasy.
00:26:18
Speaker
Yes, 1000%.
00:26:30
Speaker
Yeah. That's how I feel about that. Yes. Coming, you know, back to your body and controlling your reality. All of that, I think is really important as we move forward though. Yeah, absolutely. What about you though? Where have you felt your instincts speak louder this season? I'm curious how you would answer this question. It's a hard question.
00:26:48
Speaker
It is a hard question.

Recognizing Sufficiency and Letting Go

00:26:50
Speaker
i feel like I feel like I have just, I'm coming back to like trusting myself and knowing that I actually do have everything within me. I need for, for so long, I've been looking at outside of myself for validation, for confirmation, for all of these things. And so I think this is what comes to me is, um, I'm just, I'm tuning back into my own self-trust and following that instinct that like, I do know what to do. I do know what the next right step is. I don't need to go to outside validation or outside sources for it. Like I was, you know, I was kind of just like, think I was so out of tune that I was just so trusting into all of these other resources of like, well, you tell me what to do because I feel like I've gotten lost. And now i'm just like, I'm not doing that anymore. I'm just done a lot of my own
00:27:50
Speaker
self-work that I don't know if this is making any sense, but that's where, that's what comes to me is like, I'm just going to follow my instincts again.
00:28:00
Speaker
You know, I did it for years and it led me down the right path, obviously. And I'm not going to, I'm just choosing not to feel lost anymore.
00:28:12
Speaker
That was a mic drop moment.
00:28:16
Speaker
Yeah. That was really powerful. It feels powerful. if you And again, it just feels like I'm taking my power back, which again is like comes back to this is the energy of the fire horse. This is the fire horse energy. um So yeah.
00:28:31
Speaker
You know which animal is super sufficient? What? The horse? Turkey. Oh, the turkey. Of course, the turkey. We're still on the turkey. Oh my gosh. I talked about it on the last episode. So if you listened to the previous episode, you're going to know exactly what I'm talking about with my experience with the turkeys.
00:28:56
Speaker
Turkey, obviously, you know, as soon as i left that trip, I had to start looking into the spiritual meaning of turkeys. And, you know, that is actually... a point that as soon as I read it, i was like, okay, it was one of those was like, okay, I see you. i hear you. I see you. I get it. The word sufficient came up. And so i just held that with me for a couple of days. And you know, what it it made me think of is
00:29:28
Speaker
ah Number one, we're sufficient physically in what we have, you know? so yeah we have everything that we need physically. I'm taken care of. i have everything I need. I'm safe.
00:29:41
Speaker
It's like this. i'm I am sufficient. And... It also then led me to feel like I am sufficient in everything that I need is already inside of me. And I'm sufficient in the guidance that I am being given. That means that I am sufficient. I have what I need to help and guide other people. And i I'm going trust in that. And again, like not outsource that power. or It's in me. I'm sufficient in everything that need that I need to move forward.
00:30:11
Speaker
Yes, I love that. Sufficient. Sufficient. Absolutely. Thank you. Turkeys. Thank you. Turkeys. By the way, I'm going to tell you this now. So obviously i was looking for feathers when I was there. So if you guys don't know, feathers are my thing. I have a tattoo of a feather. i always see feathers in the exact right moment and they're placed so strategically. It's, it's actually crazy,
00:30:42
Speaker
So I'm getting ready to leave that morning, that day. And I didn't tell you this, but the road to get up to that cabin, it's a road up. It's a windy road up. And the sleet that we've been experiencing here in Idaho and the mountains has been so bad that the roads are just pure ice. And so I ended up staying for a couple of hours because the hosts were like, don't drive down those roads. Yeah.
00:31:07
Speaker
And i was like, okay, no problem. And I had been praying and asking since that morning that I was like, I want to take turkey feathers home with me. But the, you know, ground is covered in the sleet. And I'm like, I don't know. i don't, you know, I I'm asking. And so I'm trusting it's going to happen. But, you know, then it came time for me to pack up my car. i had even walked the property and I'm like looking out all of the windows, walking the property. I'm like, I can't believe I'm, I'm not seeing feathers, but how is this possible?
00:31:42
Speaker
So finally, when I just let it go and it's time for me to go, I'm driving down the path. to get back to the main road. So like it's a longer driveway. And I look over to the left to the ground and there's a feather. and I was like, yes, thank you. And so I got it out. I got the feather. i drove literally couple more feet, bam, another feather. And I was like, thank you. Not just one feather.
00:32:09
Speaker
you gave me two feathers. Do you want to know what this, the secret is you guys, she let it go. Yeah. She was, you, I mean, you didn't get your feathers. You were like, you let it go. You were okay to leave that.
00:32:23
Speaker
I was, and you know what I even thought Tiff? I was like, you know what? I can order feathers. And I know that locally I can actually buy feathers. Like I've bought Eagle feathers before. And so I really was like, you know what, even if I have to get my own feathers. The feathers are still going to remind me and that's okay. How do I just stay in this energy regardless, no matter what. And then as soon as I was like, you know what?
00:32:49
Speaker
Okay. It's fine. Yes. Not just one feather, two

Authenticity in Business and Fire Horse Energy

00:32:53
Speaker
feathers. Oh my gosh. I love it. like so much. So cool.
00:32:59
Speaker
So anyways, sufficiency, that was a really powerful word. And I do think that we're being asked to just lean into our sufficiency. yeah and And yeah, when I read that, it was really beautiful. And what you just said just reminded me of that.
00:33:14
Speaker
Well, and I think too, like when we see other people lean into their sufficiency, we then it's such a powerful reminder that like, oh yeah, I actually do have everything I need. I have, i have it all. And so it's contagious and I love that. I'm so glad that you shared that.
00:33:33
Speaker
Yeah. What's a recent decision you made from instinct instead of obligation.
00:33:45
Speaker
Such a good question. know. Now I'm thinking.
00:33:54
Speaker
i don't know. Very personal one. And I don't think my family listens to this, so I'm going to say it. Okay. You ready? Yeah. Instinctively, i have accepted my sister-in-law's new husband.
00:34:09
Speaker
And it's not out of obligation because I don't believe that I'm obligated to accept that. okay It really has. I've had to lean a lot into my instincts and my trust and my instincts about him and not letting, you know, the noise outside of me.
00:34:27
Speaker
ah Because there was a lot. Yeah. um Like make a a preconceived like judgment, right? and And then it was really cool because once I started to feel that way and I'm spending more time with him, I'm like, you know what? My initial instinct about him was right.
00:34:43
Speaker
Like it was right the first time, then time went on and I was like, maybe it isn't. And I got like really, you know, how yeah so many different feelings about it. But then the last time that I was with him, I was like, nope, but actually my instincts were right. Yeah.
00:34:57
Speaker
I don't know if I would use the word love just yet, but like the, the acceptance of him and that my instincts were right about him in the best way possible. You guys, he actually is amazing.
00:35:08
Speaker
um And so that, that's been really cool because you you know, a lot of people could say like, you're obligated to, you know, accept this person, Yeah. I instinctually feel like in my heart, I needed to be able to do that just for me and who I am. So that's just a very personal example.
00:35:27
Speaker
um I'll try to think of like a ah work example too. I love that so much. I don't have an example to share just yet. We might have to circle back, but I will think on it.
00:35:38
Speaker
Yeah. How does the fire horse energy shift the way we lead in our businesses? Yeah. Authenticity. Absolutely. The self-trust. Yes. Don't you think?
00:35:51
Speaker
Oh, It does kind of go back to kind of the sufficiency where I think that when we are in our bodies, we're empowered, we're home in ourselves. We've been able to create a lot of protection around the distraction so that we can stay really present and I do feel like so much guidance will happen during those times. And that helps us to move forward with problem solving and creativity, which as an esthetician is extremely important, no matter the role that you have. If you are a solo esthetician, if you're an esthetician that works for somebody else, you know, it doesn't matter as estheticians, we move forward in our careers by leaning into our intuition and our trust and healing and creating relationships with people.
00:36:49
Speaker
And so i feel like the fire horse energy of coming home to yourself and and trusting in yourself and moving forward with truth, it is a huge part of what we do. And so it's almost like strategic in our careers moving forward that we trust ourselves and that we are protecting our energy, our reality, our nervous system, because that is, again, what is going to propel us forward as beauty professionals simply because of what we are called to do on so many different levels.
00:37:23
Speaker
Oh my gosh. Yes. So much. Yes. It's almost hard to put it into words. I feel like they're going to land with you and you're going to get it. or you can be like, what in the heck are these like woo woo girls talking about?
00:37:39
Speaker
actually leads me back to the authenticity piece that we've been talking so much about where, Your authenticity is now a business strategy because, and I really came home to that with Nicole's episode where I just cannot believe that her maternity leave was that long, but nobody yeah left her. now I was like, well, don't you think that is because you are extremely authentic? And the answer is yes. I believe that when we're when we're led to our own authenticity, that really does become our superpower. That is how we attract clients to us. It's how we serve deeper. It's how we lean into the connections that we create with people. That's what leads to retention. When you're being authentic and you have that creative relationships, it makes pre-booking easier, retail sales easier, follow-ups easier because you're just so in your own authentic energy that a lot of those things that we can have a little bit of like resistance to, a lot of that can fall away.
00:38:44
Speaker
Absolutely. Well, and I think our... Um, when we own our own authenticity and lean into it, it regulates our nervous system. And then that prevents burnout, right? It's like, it's all connected. All of the things that said, it makes all of those things, all of those fundamentals so much easier. to do. and then you know, it just keeps everything.
00:39:07
Speaker
it just keeps it peaceful and joyful and fun and exciting. And, you know, i don't know that it is. That's the, that's the key piece right there is authenticity.
00:39:19
Speaker
Yeah, it is. Do you have any thoughts? Um, like in addition to that, how the fires, fire horse energy shifts the way that we lead in our businesses or in our careers.
00:39:32
Speaker
Um, I think if anything else I will add, i do feel like this energy in this rising among estheticians and beauty professionals, especially, um because we've just closed out that nine year cycle because we, so many of us have been doing just this deep work.
00:39:51
Speaker
And it's just going to propel everybody exponentially, like beyond our wildest dreams. And I think we're going to those of us who are on the, on this trajectory are going to do it together. And it's just going to create massive, massive impact around the world. That's how I feel.
00:40:08
Speaker
Yeah. Oh, I would absolutely second that. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. So again, that, that really leads us into why this really matters for estheticians right now is that estheticians are deeply intuitive

Managing Emotions and Commitments

00:40:20
Speaker
and empathic. Just like we were saying, we work with touch presence and energy every day. Yet many of us have been taught to override our bodies, our intuition and our natural rhythms and We've really been conditioned to just push through exhaustion to stay quiet when something feels misaligned and keep going. Even when our nervous system is asking for rest, I'm going to stop here. Yeah, we have to go here.
00:40:55
Speaker
There are times when you have to put your emotions aside. Mm-hmm. And show up anyways. Yes.
00:41:08
Speaker
I cannot emphasize that enough, right? And so I think minding your nervous system, but still being able to show up when you're committed to something or you've committed yourself to something, to someone, to your clients, there are times where you are going to have to set the emotion aside. And I think your nervous system and your emotions, and they are different things, but they can come intertwined.
00:41:39
Speaker
Well, especially when it's dysregulated. Yeah. So I do feel like as estheticians, there are times where you do have to learn to set that aside and still show, be able to show up for your clients and your commitments regardless, and just kind of set that emotion aside. And it's not about, I'm not going to feel that, or I'm not going to heal my nervous system. It's actually having the ability to contain and bridle your emotions that is going to enable you to show up when you need to show up and then pick that back up later.
00:42:16
Speaker
Yes. It's basically just asking you a bigger question. What do I need to do with my schedule a little bit differently? How can I incorporate a little bit more self-care? How can I turn again, like I was saying earlier, those, those things that we're going to do every day anyways, like getting ready for the day, light a candle, you know, but they're just, there's always going to be a sense in this isn't masculine energy by me saying this, this is actually just as an esthetician or as a professional person,
00:42:48
Speaker
really in any career, there really are times that you have to set some things aside, show up anyways, and then pick it back up and don't let your emotions
00:43:03
Speaker
override or get run you mixed up in things. And I hope that that makes sense. I've been accused of being really masculine that way, but it isn't. It's, you know, I've made commitments to show up for people and guide people and lead people and love people. it's something that I've just had to master. And I have, I had to master it in the the treatment room as well of being able to, and you guys have all been in situations where you're like, I still have clients all day.
00:43:31
Speaker
And I'm tired and I'm really burned out and I have these things going on in my life, you know, but I have this commitment. And so i am going to show up for it. And how we show up for one commitment is how we show up for all commitments. So, so my, my lesson here is emotions can be set aside and then picked up later so that we're able to be fully present when, with the commitments that we've made, especially like with our clients.
00:43:59
Speaker
Oh, especially, and with our businesses and with, um, our profession as a whole, with everything, I couldn't agree more. And I will say you, well, I will be honest. Like it took the first couple of years in business. It took me a while to get there. I was always able when I was in the treatment room to be present in the treatment room. And I would leave my baggage at the door and just like mentally, like pick it back up after the client. But as a whole. And then as I started having kids and became a mom, like life did get heavy and it got busy. And then I i kind of got a little flaky on some things. You know what i mean? I would cancel last minute on clients or not last minute, but like, or if I was like so exhausted or whatever, i would move my schedule around. And like, i will say though, by mastering this, with this
00:44:49
Speaker
aspect that you're talking about right now and keeping the commitments to yourself. It actually like has put us to where we are today. It's, it's separated us from being, you know, just good estheticians to actually really great estheticians. It's opened up this whole door and opportunity for us to lead other estheticians and,
00:45:14
Speaker
I will always, I always, I know that when life gets heavy, when, um and we're still able to keep our commitments and we're still able to separate ourselves from the emotions and still show up, it's actually

Time Mastery and Preventing Burnout

00:45:29
Speaker
the universe. Like, I don't want to say test test isn't right, but it's asking us to like level up. And when we can get through it and do it and be so proud of ourselves because we did it, even though it's hard, even though when we're like going through shit, we all go through shit. Life gets hard and we still have these obligations and these commitments and these promises that we make. And when we can still show up for ourselves and the people that we make promises to, that's how you level up.
00:45:58
Speaker
100%. It's not masculine to say that. No, I think it's a very feminine, very feminine. It's a very feminine. It's a very, this is how we grow. This is truly how we level up. And I also think it's really important that, you know, often our pain is our purpose. And so as estheticians, as healers, or for us, even as guides and leaders in the industry, a lot of the things that we go through and grow through, now we get to turn around and help other people through those things. And so that's another way that I think it makes it easy to just kind of set things aside and show up pick it back up later, you know, work through it because everything that we go through can also prepare us, like I said, to help other people and to be a healing safe space for other people.
00:46:45
Speaker
And so I just wanted to throw that in there because I think that emotions and nervous system regulation, yes, they are very important. However, you know, being able to level up, there is a way to manage both of those things and bridle both of those things at the same time and continue to show up. You don't set your commitments aside.
00:47:03
Speaker
That you committed to that it's just not going to lead you to any sort of leadership position, because you are correct. We both got to where we are today as excellent estheticians, business owners, leaders, now coaches and me as a rep. That all gets to be set aside. And because I've been able to grow through that and learn how to master the ability to do that, I've been able to help thousands of estheticians in so many different ways, right? So many ways. It's very layered. You know, there's a lot of layers there, but that is my impact because I've been able master that. Yes.
00:47:48
Speaker
Yes. And, um I will say like, i I don't know about you or how you feel about this, but like, I am busier than I've ever been in my whole life right now. And I feel like I have more time than I ever have as well. Oh, can we just really lean into this for a second? I've been wanting to talk about this. So please tell us everything.
00:48:13
Speaker
Well, I think it goes back to to what we were just saying is like mastering the hard and navigating it and leaning into it and accepting the challenges when they arise and, and And understanding that when challenges do arise, that it's actually to propel us that we've actually asked for it. Like I can look back now and think and see all of the things that I was praying for. And then all of the challenges that arose were actually answers to my prayers. It's not how I envisioned it was going to go but when I stopped avoiding.
00:48:47
Speaker
the hard and I just leaned into it and then I was consistent with it. That's really what propelled me forward. And so, um, yeah, I just, this, I don't know. Again, we had this conversation and all in our coaching call this morning, like time is not real. And i think it's just mastery, you know, cause I do, I look at my calendar and, and my calendar used to trigger me so hard. I used to not look at my calendar until Monday morning for my week ahead, because I didn't even want to, to open that door because I would get anxiety. I get the Sunday scaries and then it was just so jam packed. And now I look at my calendar and it is just
00:49:27
Speaker
fuller than it was even back then. And at the same time, I'm going to the gym every day. i have lunch with my husband. I have a coffee break. i I, you know, I'm just like, I feel like I'm just living this like do to do to do And I'm getting all this shit done. I don't know how it's worked, but I will say it's because I've mastered the heart and the challenges when they've arose.
00:49:49
Speaker
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. How do you feel? I actually am feeling the same way. You know, I'm feeling the same way, but this is something that's just started to transpire for me probably over the last month where I did go from this very consistent,
00:50:04
Speaker
ah persistent, uncomfortable, persistent overwhelm for a very, very long time And then something shifted inside of me as I started to lean into the concept of flow and rhythm and presence. And now i actually feel this that I trust that i I have this trust in myself to complete things and accomplish things. And I have not felt this for years. Yesterday, i literally had one of the most productive days. Everything was crossed off my list and I was still done by everything.
00:50:46
Speaker
8pm, which was my boundary for myself. Usually, I mean, my boundary, I would like to be a little bit earlier, but I'm coming off of break. And so there was just more that I wanted to get done. And I was like, you know what, I'm okay with tonight ending at eight, which is a huge improvement from 11. Okay.
00:51:04
Speaker
okay ah And I just got everything done. Tiff, I got everything done and I liked it. Okay. And I think that that is key to romanticizing what we're doing and doing whatever it takes to enjoy these tasks, whether or not that is, I'm going to take a lunch break and have lunch with my husband Um, for me, it's like my drinks are a big thing, you know, like I want to have my green juices. I love maybe I'm going to go grab some Starbucks while I'm doing this. What's something nice I can listen to. i have my candles, you know, my feathers. i like improve my lighting. I'll stop and put on my favorite lotion, but it's just this being able to be present and um tuned in and flow and completely restricting any potential distraction. and Yes. It's changed everything. i have huge projects that need to get done and I feel zero anxiety or resistance to that because I know i will accomplish it and I'm excited to get it done. and because time isn't real, just going back to that, we can bend time through just simply being present.
00:52:29
Speaker
Absolutely. So when you start to feel like time is moving too quickly, it's getting away from you, you feel like you're in a time warp, you're probably, you know, dysregulated, outsourcing your attention that can be again to like social media or TV. And maybe you're not romanticizing your tasks or your work enough or, you know, there's so many different reasons why I can look back now at where we were a couple months ago when we were like, time's not real, time's not real. I'm like, but i was also outsourcing a lot of my time and attention just to... scrolling on social media and like numbing out. Um, and so I feel very strongly that if you're present and you can figure out a nice rhythm and flow and, you know, one, one thing that we encourage a lot of our coaching clients to do is a time and energy tracker.
00:53:26
Speaker
Yes. It's a game changer. So that then you can input your tasks or create your your days where it's going to fit your energy best. And you know what I actually am working on now that's been really cool? I had a whole conversational chat GPT about...
00:53:46
Speaker
How can I structure my days to have a better rhythm and a flow so that I don't end up in any sort of state of burnout or needing to numb out?
00:53:58
Speaker
And one of the most helpful things that it helped me to see is that my I have different modes. Mm-hmm.
00:54:08
Speaker
Now there's yeah creator mode, guide mode, teacher mode, rep mode. You know, it basically helped me categorize my five modes or my five containers, my five hats that I wear. And it helped me to see which tasks go in each mode so that yesterday, most of my, we went from, we started in guide mode.
00:54:35
Speaker
We were on our call. And then i got ah i changed my drink and I said, i am now done in creator mode.
00:54:46
Speaker
Took some deep breaths, hung out with my kittens. I just gave myself a nice 15 minutes. Then when I sat back down to do my work, I was like, now I'm going to be in integrator mode until probably 8 p.m. yeah And then any time that another task would come up that would need to be completed, i would say, well, that's creator mode.
00:55:07
Speaker
And that's actually not the mode that I'm in right now. Yes, I love this. Staying in the integrator mode. And so if you if you feel like that, if you're like, this is esthetician mode, this is integrator mode, this is this mode, it's really helping me to stay present and in tune and to not get that burnout or the need to numb and distract when I'm simply realizing my need for numbing out and distracting myself was because I had no container for these modes. And so everything just felt like a lot.
00:55:40
Speaker
And it feels overwhelming when you feel that way. Right. And then when we feel overwhelmed, what do we do? We usually get on social media and scroll yeah or numb out in some way. Yeah. Dang. I love this. This like energy containment, I think as we're talking about the, the horse energy, being Having the ability to recognize and learn these things about yourself and being able to implement these types of, i don't know, strategies or like realizations, they' they're now propelling me forward in ways that i couldn't even have have imagined because I feel so much more contained and so much more aware. you know And so it isn't it's it's how I can keep my nervous system and my overwhelm just nice and calm. And again, that's led me to a lot of self-trust. Like I really can't accomplish what needs to be accomplished. And I actually really enjoy it. I actually always have really enjoyed it. But for the past few years, as my schedule has grown and tasks are added,
00:56:44
Speaker
I didn't have any containment for them. And now that I do it, just, oh my goodness, it feels amazing. So just take to jet te chat and have a question and, you know, really just lay it all out there and allow chat GPT to, you know, walk you through this. Like, how can I transition through what I'm doing every day so that I'm not getting really overwhelmed and I don't feel this need to like pick up my phone and start scrolling.
00:57:10
Speaker
can just have a moment with myself and switch into this different mode. I love that. Dang. So helpful. i hope so. It's helped me. So give it a shot. I don't know. As estheticians, we do wear a lot of hats We have many different modes regardless of the position that you're in. So if you're feeling burned out, maybe we need to have some containers.
00:57:40
Speaker
So another thing, um so we we kind of landed or ended there with fire horse energy invites us back into self-trust. And that's not louder marketing. It's not faster growth, but it's actually clearer alignment. So where have you seen estheticians override their intuition in business?
00:58:01
Speaker
This actually came up in the mastermind call yesterday, and it was such a powerful conversation about estheticians not taking a lunch break. i forgot about that until right now. Right. it just, mind wide open.
00:58:15
Speaker
Right. And you know, I think it's the norm. I think most estheticians do not schedule themselves at lunch break. They work through their lunch or they think, okay, I can fit in some food here or here. And then the day gets hijacked and then we end up hangry. And then that's, mean, down the road, ultimately long story short is what leads to burnout. Yeah.
00:58:34
Speaker
And the conversation we had yesterday was this particular aesthetician had such a hard time coming to the realization. Cause she worked in a spa where that was not the norm. The estheticians didn't take a lunch break. And then when she went solo, she had a really hard time.
00:58:52
Speaker
putting that into her day because she felt guilty about it. She felt like she should be, you know, like how the other estheticians are, or how most estheticians are. And she really had to do some deeper work on like, why is she feeling this way? And it was just such a powerful conversation because It really is like, it was mind blowing for all of us. Like, why are we not scheduling ourselves a lunch? Why are we not dedicating time to, even if we're not eating to go for a walk or to go get a coffee or to really just have time to ourselves instead of just pushing through. so that's my answer to that question. ah Yeah. And I, yeah.
00:59:31
Speaker
Loved that conversation. It really did land so hard with all of us. Another ah thing that an esthetician who is an owner and has a team is she actually extended all of the appointments longer or essentially created more breaks or longer breaks between appointments so that there isn't such a back-to-back energy You know, they do have like 10 minutes to warm up their food. So I think that there's different ways that you can implement this. But if your intuition is telling you that you're like going too hard throughout the day, like if you're really getting burned out.
01:00:12
Speaker
you probably don't have enough time between your appointments and don't be afraid to take time between your appointments. Don't, i don't like to think of that as now I'm losing money or, you know, I could have a brow wax or you could, or you could chill for a minute and get some food um,
01:00:33
Speaker
clear your energy. And that was one thing this person in particular said is she was like, i i wasn't actually ever giving myself time to even clear the energy of the space. And then clients were feeling that. And so i do think it's really important that we're not so back to back that we're carrying energy into other clients sessions, because they do feel that where we're hands on with people, we don't want to be bringing that in. And so would that would definitely be my answer to is give yourself some more space in your day. Give yourself a lunch break and give yourself more breaks and have those, you know, rituals that are going to keep your energy really clear and keep you really calm and grounded. And that there's not like always another client right outside waiting for you.
01:01:22
Speaker
Don't do that. Because we also owe it to our clients that their time is their time. And you're my world for the next 60 minutes. And I don't want you even knowing that there would be somebody out there waiting that I'm trying to like rush you you know, out of here. So I do think that that is really powerful for so many different reasons. Absolutely.
01:01:48
Speaker
What's something your body told you this year that your mind tried to ignore?
01:01:55
Speaker
Do you have an answer to this question? Yes. Go ahead.
01:02:02
Speaker
Well, with my competition, for sure, for sure, for sure. Like I was supposed to do the two shows, right? But like I did the one show and I was overriding my intuition. i i actually didn't know that I probably shouldn't have done that show, but i did.
01:02:18
Speaker
And then i I really did know that if I tried to keep going, there was going to be a backlash. If I were to do that second show, there would be, um yeah we'll just call it a backlash. I would be too hungry. Honestly, I would really have struggled to get to that next show. And then I would have really struggled coming out of it. And I'm so grateful that I um did eventually trust my intuition to not do that second show and to just go right into an improvement season and hire a different coach who could help me through that process. And um yeah, it's so...
01:02:58
Speaker
There are so many times I think as estheticians too, when you are just overbooked and you're too busy, it's it's the same scenario. It's like you're not nourishing yourself. You're you're too busy and your body is going to burn out, you know, really quickly. But that was just for me, it's...
01:03:17
Speaker
yeah, my body was like, let's actually not, you're getting too hungry. You know, you're having a hard time even sticking to your food plan. That's always a really good sign. But I would say also, I mean, not necessarily my body, but the amount of time that I felt like I needed to lay on the couch and open up my phone, just going back to that, I do think that that's another sign from your body and your brain that you're like, there's something that's off because, we don't, we shouldn't feel that way if we

Honesty and Alignment in Commitments

01:03:47
Speaker
love what we do. So what's really going on. So I think even just watching your body, like i would literally walk, you know, to my kitchen, I'm like, just trying to go get a drink of water or something. And instead of even making it to the fridge, I like stop on my couch, you know, yeah yeah just like turn on my phone. And so even physically that way, catching yourself being like, okay, yeah, there's probably something here to look at. getting too tired when you're really exhausted. yeah Like, okay, why am I so exhausted? Cause this feels abnormal.
01:04:18
Speaker
Yeah. I would say that would be my answer is like, when I do get in that state of being exhausted, thinking about having a nap, you know, ah naps are great and I love them. But when I feel like I need a nap, especially for like weeks on end, then yeah it's a sign that I'm, you know, not prioritizing my own, um, physical,
01:04:39
Speaker
well-being and I haven't been eating great and I haven't been getting to bed great and, um, you know, taking, just filling my cup. And so, yeah, such valid reminders that when those signs rise, that it's actually our, but our body is so powerful. Like when we get sick, when we get exhausted, when we can't sleep, when, you know, our body is trying to communicate to us. And so again, bringing it back to, being able to tune into those feelings and recognize them when they rise and then really being honest with ourselves about why they're showing up.
01:05:16
Speaker
Yes. Yeah, I would agree. And I think that the part about being honest with yourself about it and not continuing to override. Yes. look Or numb. Yeah. and Yeah. 1000%. How do we return to alignment when we've drifted really far from it?
01:05:35
Speaker
Well, I think it comes back to being honest with ourselves, having an honest conversation. Agreed. Yeah. And that can be hard, you know, um because, well, sometimes the truth, I don't want to say hurts, but it can be, i can sting for sure.
01:05:55
Speaker
Absolutely. Yeah. Yeah. I think the hardest part about coming back to an alignment is that it it can potentially mean that some, something's got to go.
01:06:09
Speaker
oh yeah. And that can feel really scary. Yeah, absolutely. Absolutely. when we don't necessarily know what it is, you know, most of us I think can pinpoint and when, but sometimes we're just really attached to it, you know,
01:06:28
Speaker
And it's scary cause we don't know what the other side of that's going to look like. It's always, I truly believe it's always for our greater good. you know, it can still feel scary.
01:06:44
Speaker
Absolutely. And that's just where the act of surrender and trust has to come into play. if you guys haven't read the book, um The Surrender Experiment by Michael Singer, it's such a great book because it's more of a story about surrender. And then my other favorite person who has books on surrender, and I love listening to him on podcasts. His name is Kute, K-U-T-E, Blackson.
01:07:08
Speaker
like black sun. And, um, yeah, when it comes to surrender, those are like my two favorite go-tos. So if you need help with that surrender or inspiration with surrender and like good examples, I mean, i bet you have good examples in your life already, but it sure doesn't hurt to, to listen to something like that too.
01:07:28
Speaker
Thank you for those resources always. Okay. In business, fire horse energy looks like choosing direction over speed, saying no without guilt, moving forward without self-betrayal. It's the confidence to simplify your offers, protect your energy, build momentum that you can actually sustain.
01:07:50
Speaker
and when movement is aligned, magnets, magnetism follows clarity, builds trust leadership becomes felt, not forced.
01:08:01
Speaker
Hmm.
01:08:04
Speaker
Um, what's something you said no to this year that felt powerful more so than what you've already shared?
01:08:20
Speaker
Hmm. Something that I said no to that felt really powerful.
01:08:29
Speaker
Not sure if it's necessarily something I've said no to. However, what I've gotten really good at is in the moment, not over-promising. i love that. Yeah. I've gotten really good at catching myself, not over-offering and not over-promising.
01:08:47
Speaker
actually have too. Oh man. It's, um, I'm like, I, I,
01:08:55
Speaker
I don't need more on my plate. And so if this doesn't actually feel like it's going to make a really big difference, then I'm not going to do it or offer it kind of a thing. So it's been for me more about becoming really aware in the moment of what I'm offering to do or like what I'm putting out there and and then just being really honest with myself about it. And sometimes that does mean saying no to certain things. And sometimes it just means like you not putting too much out there that's then just going to get added onto your own plate.
01:09:34
Speaker
Yes. Even when say the quote unquote offer sounds really sexy, you know, and then you sign up for it or you agree to it and then it comes up and you're just like, why, why, wait why, Um, so yeah, actually, now that you say that I, I have gotten to where I'm the same. And I also have gotten to where like, say something comes up or I'm asked of something, not feeling like I have to give an answer right then and there.
01:10:03
Speaker
And that's felt very powerful and just, you know, saying like, well, let me consider it and I'll circle back to you. That's okay. i love that. Yeah. But also if it's not a hell yes, it's a no.
01:10:16
Speaker
I agree with that. And I also would second that or follow that up with no is a complete sentence. Yes. Yeah. Like just, so this over explaining thing, just drop it. No, it's a complete second. Sometimes I'll tell people, you know what? My plate is as full as I would like it right now. My schedule is exactly like I want it, you know, for right now, but in the future, if that changes, i will let you know.
01:10:47
Speaker
And I love that so much more than saying I'm too busy right now. Cause I, again, like our words have power. And so I don't want to block the energy or the things that I'm actually wanting to land on my plate by refusing the things that I don't. Yeah.
01:11:03
Speaker
Yeah. And so I think like phrasing it that way, my plate is as full as I would like it or my plate. I don't know. Doesn't have room for that particular thing right now. I'll let you know. Yeah. Yeah. Love that. That was the complete sentence.
01:11:18
Speaker
Absolutely. Where did simplifying your offers bring clarity or freedom?
01:11:26
Speaker
We're going through that right now. yeah we are. We're through that right now where we have limited, we're not running to mastermind groups at the same time. We loved the experience. We learned so much from it. and We also decided not to work with teams.
01:11:43
Speaker
team specifically moving forward, or if we did just restructuring what that might look like. And so we've learned a lot about just simplifying and not having too many also one-on-one clients at the same time. And so we've kind of learned that it's same with being in the treatment room when you're really pulling pouring that much out to people, you do want to, well for us anyways, can we can serve deeper to fewer people. And that's what we were really feeling is like, we're we're both the type of people. And I think most estheticians were like, I want to go all in on serving, you know, the people who are right in front of me. Well, when there's a lot of that
01:12:27
Speaker
that becomes really hard so sometimes even like for an esthetician in the treatment room it's saying maybe i don't need five you know 90 minute facials during the day because that's feeling like a lot maybe i would do better to like raise my prices just a little bit and limit myself to three or maybe just you know four that can also go hand in hand with like your schedule. How do we simplify your schedule, um you know, straight across the board, you know, in so many different ways. So, you know, simplifying to me means pouring deeper into what is right in front of me and not having too much on my plate so that I'm not able to fully give myself the way that I know i can and desire to.
01:13:14
Speaker
Absolutely. so important.
01:13:20
Speaker
It feels good in the body too. Again, does as we we're making those decisions, you know, not just me and you, but estheticians making those decisions, tune into your body when you're thinking about that. You're like, Ooh, four would four facials in a day would feel really nice actually. And that's probably a good indicator that it's time to take a look at that.
01:13:43
Speaker
Well, and I think it's so much trust too on, you know, less is more. when it's very intentional, when it feels good in the body, when we know we are in our purpose and we don't. And again, it's just about going deeper and not wider and is and trusting that we will be blessed with the abundance when we align with that, which is the mic drop moment. Thank you. Because there's nothing

Boundary Setting and Nervous System Support

01:14:10
Speaker
more true than that. Yes. yeah
01:14:15
Speaker
Let's talk about As we wrap up fire horse energy and the nervous system, true momentum requires safety a nervous system that feels constantly rushed, cannot sustain growth. It makes decisions from fear and not clarity.
01:14:30
Speaker
Fire horse energy is regulated strength. It honors the body as a source of wisdom. When the nervous system is supported, your voice studies, your decisions sharpen and your work deepens. A regulated horse can run Okay.
01:14:46
Speaker
Do you have any non-negotiables moving forward that are supportive to your nervous system? I mean, definitely my morning routine, my nighttime routine. Those are non-negotiables for me. um And a newer one this this year is going to the gym at least four days a week. And that's um that's felt really good. And that's been really, really powerful for my nervous system and how I feel overall. And it's um definitely served my professional life by pouring into my personal and physical health. And so those are mine.
01:15:23
Speaker
What about you? Yeah, well, mine would be very similar. I would say, obviously, social media is just the decision is made, i will keep that protection for myself really, really strong.
01:15:38
Speaker
We could call that a boundary if you want, but you know protect just protecting my energy and taking back my time that way is definitely a non-negotiable that drastically serves my nervous system. And that's very layered. you know That kind of leads into a lot. And then turning work off.
01:15:56
Speaker
Yeah. i just Another non-negotiable is I just am not going to work until 11 p.m. That would be very emergency purposes only And so I have decided I want to be done with my work around six or seven and nothing is so much of an emergency that I need to be sitting here until 11. And so as long as I am not distracting myself in the middle of the day and as long as I'm just staying really focused and in tune and having a good flow with my day, again, I can accomplish what I need to do and that will allow me to just turn work off so that I can work.
01:16:29
Speaker
read a book and wash my face and go on a walk and do whatever feels good for me. But kind of taking back that nighttime self-care ritual thing.
01:16:42
Speaker
I love that for you. Thank you. Yes. Been a problem for a long time. It's time. Yeah. Less, you know, less is more. comes back to that too.
01:16:53
Speaker
And nothing's an emergency. No, no, it's really never. Never. Not that urgent.
01:17:01
Speaker
So do you want to move on to fire horse energy in our personal lives? I do go for it. This energy doesn't stop at work. Fire horse energy asks, where am I forcing movement in my life? Where am I holding back? Because I don't trust myself yet. What would it feel like to move forward? Honestly, it invites us to choose relationships that feel expansive boundaries that protect vitality rest that fuels movement instead of stopping it.
01:17:29
Speaker
It's really just encaptures what, what we just talked about. We're right. Really prioritizing our own ourselves, making sure we're at the, on the front top burner of the stove and not way back there or over on the kitchen counter, you know, and pouring into ourselves first and then into our, our relationships and our family second, and then into our business and our clients third.
01:17:55
Speaker
Yes. And it's not selfish. And I've loved seeing so many women, especially reprioritize and come to that understanding of, I do need a little bit of time for myself in the morning. I'm really enjoying this time of just drinking a warm cup of coffee you know without my significant other or my children needing something from me as service providers. And again, coming back to the fact that as estheticians, we do work very intimately with people in so many different ways, and there's so much touch involved.
01:18:31
Speaker
And we are people who just want to help people and love people. Most estheticians, that's their why, you know, it always kind of comes back to that. And what that means is that you need to take care of yourself first because you'll be able to pour so much deeper into other people when you're good. Again, there's going to be times where you do have to set some stuff aside and you have to learn to show up anyways and really master that. But for the most part, you know um you can pick that up later, work on it heal it, figure out what needs to change for you to move forward so that you know might not continue happening. But it's not selfish to take care of yourself first. That is how we serve.
01:19:20
Speaker
that's how we yeah better That's how we grow our businesses. That's how we strengthen our relationships. You have to love yourself first before you can love other people. Yeah. I mean, we're the, we're the main character of our lives, right? And this is our life. And i don't know what you believe, but most believe you get one life.
01:19:40
Speaker
I don't, or at least I don't either. I feel like we live multiple lives, but that's a whole other conversation for another day. But we are in this life right now. We are here and now, and we, you know, we're, we're meant to be here to grow and enjoy it and And experience it.

Transition from Year of the Snake to Fire Horse

01:19:58
Speaker
So, yeah. Well, what I will say, just to like back that up, is I do feel this is my only opportunity to be Jessica. That's a good point. Even if reincarnation is a real thing, but this is my opportunity to harness but what I'm doing here now and who I am now, you know? and so, yes, you really do only get to be one
01:20:21
Speaker
one time yeah One time make the most of it. Yeah.
01:20:29
Speaker
This is not a year to wait, but it's also not a year to burn yourself out trying to arrive. This is a year to trust your instincts, move with intention, let ah authenticity a lead.
01:20:40
Speaker
You don't need permission. You don't need to prove yourself. You don't need to just listen and move accordingly.
01:20:51
Speaker
you need to listen and move accordingly. Excuse me. I said that wrong. I was wondering why that didn't make it a second. I just reread that too. Thank you. Yeah, no, I definitely, i love that. I don't think that I fully understood the fire horse energy until our call yesterday with our mastermind group. And then it also helped me to understand where I'm at and then have a lot of, um like I can see where you're at too. You know, it it's it's such a beautiful energy. And I, just excited for the year at flow.
01:21:26
Speaker
I do want to touch really quickly on ah when I was listening to, um, your episode, the, our season three, episode one, um and you talking about the Chinese calendar and how it doesn't start actually until February. And so I do want to just share that if you are still feeling like you're,
01:21:49
Speaker
Um, not quite there, not quite feeling the energy, the fire horse energy. It's actually because you're right on track yeah because that Chinese calendar does it. Yeah. And you know, I follow the, I don't know what it's called the, our January through December 31st calendar. Right. And so I've been on that trajectory, but it really just clicked with me. Cause I don't think everybody's quite there yet, or we're still in the, ah the 2025 energy in that year of the snake. And we're still wrapping things up. We're still shedding. It's because they're actually right on track. So I don't want you to stress and think like, Oh, this year sucks already because I'm not feeling all of these things. Well, you know what?
01:22:30
Speaker
We're still, you know, we're so we You might still be in that energy and that's okay. Yeah. It's a limbo. Okay. We're still wrapping up. And so my best suggestion would be to continue to pay attention to what's coming up for you that still needs to be shed. So as you're being faced with situations that you're feeling like some resistance and some discomfort or, you know, as things arise,
01:22:55
Speaker
Note. Okay, cool. Here is, you know, life is showing me something that I'm still needing to shed and work on. That's amazing. Thank you for that message, that blessing. I'll work on that. Noted. You know, and then i would say just relax into this limbo and trust that you'll arrive at the energy you're supposed to arrive at when you're supposed to arrive at it.
01:23:18
Speaker
Yes. Let it go. Drop it. Let it go. Let things happen. Just pay attention to what's still coming up for you and you are going to get there. You are. But thank you for bringing that up. I think it is really important for people to understand that not everybody is quite here yet. I'm in limbo too. There's still things coming up for me that I'm like, oh, I see you. Okay.
01:23:39
Speaker
Got it. Yes. They'll need to shed that thing. Okay. Yeah. Absolutely. It's a transition. 100%. Yay. Okay. Well, basically today we've talked about embodied power. So fire horse energy reminds us that power doesn't come from pushing harder. It comes from alignment. And when movement is true, it doesn't exhaust us. It will carry us forward.
01:24:03
Speaker
So true. so true. Thank you for having this conversation. yeah I'm so glad that we did. And i I think it's just so powerful and it's just such a great way to, you know, propel us forward in the new year. It's a great January conversation to have, and I'm really excited for what's to come for, you know, our industry, for ourselves, for our businesses, for, um all of the people that we lead and coach and love and, um I just know it's going to be such a a transformative year.
01:24:36
Speaker
Yes, I would agree. All of our housekeeping was done in the previous episode. So if you're wondering what's going on with us right now, what some of our offers are and what we're working on, you can just revisit that episode. And we're just going to go ahead and wrap this up today. And just really thank you from the bottom of our hearts, as always, for being here and having this conversation. we would love a rating and review. And if this landed with you, let us know, you know, send us a message. We never get tired of saying, you know, hearing from you. it really does matter a lot to us. So, so we would love to hear from you and we're just truly wishing you guys a happy 2026 and we're excited to be on this journey with you.
01:25:21
Speaker
So grateful. Okay. Okay. Have pretty dreams and we will see you in the next episode. Bye Tiff. Bye.
