Morning Feelings and Full Moon Energy
00:00:39
Speaker
I am your host, Tiffany or.
00:00:42
Speaker
I am your other host, Jessica Peterson, and we have a returning guest with us today, our dear friend, Marty Hutchinson. Welcome back to Beyond Aesthetics.
00:00:53
Speaker
Thank you for having me. i love it Always. We're really excited to have this conversation. We have been waiting for this. And before we do, i just wanted to check in with you guys and see how what you're doing, how's your morning going? We were chatting just a little bit before this, but um yeah, Tiff, how are you doing this morning? What is going on with you?
00:01:18
Speaker
I'm really good this morning. it's It's hair wash day, so I always feel much more put together on my hair wash days. um Other than that, though, like we were just chatting before we hit record, like a little bit of... of busy, kind of chaotic energy, um, all good things, but feeling maybe pulled in lots of different directions and feeling maybe like I'm doing lots, but maybe like nothing's getting done. i don't know. I think it's just that the end, the full moon, the end of the year of the snake, like the last little push. I don't, I don't really know. I'm curious to maybe, I
Managing Anxiety and Stress
00:01:57
Speaker
don't know. How are you guys feeling?
00:02:00
Speaker
I'm feeling the same, you know, it is almost exactly the same energy, like excited. i have so much I want to get out, but also still feeling a little bit like, nope, I'm not supposed to do all of this stuff yet.
00:02:14
Speaker
So that's like that push pull for me where I'm like, no, you're still supposed to be chilling out. And even though I have all of these things I want to do. And so this is where I usually let that anxiety take over.
Aesthetics Academy Event Preview
00:02:29
Speaker
And I start like, you know, to giving orders, like, let's get this done. Let's do this to my team.
00:02:36
Speaker
um And I'm, I'm not letting myself do that. And I'm, it feels like it's like right here. Same. Actually, it feels very like in the, in right at the base of my throat and in the chest. Yeah. Yeah.
00:02:49
Speaker
Oh, that's that's powerful, though, that you're like very self-aware and you're like, no, we're not we're not going to do doing it these old patterns, these old habits. You feel them coming up. We like that, though.
00:03:03
Speaker
Marty, what are you the most excited about right now? Do you want to tell everybody about the event by the time that this airs? I mean, there will still be time, I think, unless tickets are sold out. So we would love for you to share about the event just in case anyone in the TV treasure value is like, able to join our surrounding area. I'm so excited about it. So we're doing for my Academy, we're hosting the aesthetics Academy professional event. And as you guys know, like my, I, I love my clients. They're like, I love it, but I love my professionals even more because that for me is like what lights me up. So
00:03:41
Speaker
I've always wanted things in Idaho. I feel like we have to travel out out of state. And um I just am like, I started a couple years ago with a small event where we had like 30 people. It sold out um and it was great fun.
The Role of Energy in Aesthetics Treatments
00:03:58
Speaker
um And we all learned a lot. We had different speakers.
00:04:02
Speaker
I did another one and that was like my cap, like 30 people. I kept like 30 people, 30 people. And then, and then the last one I did at 30 people, we ended up selling 50 tickets because people really wanted to come. And so this time I was like, what if we sell a hundred tickets?
00:04:20
Speaker
And it like made me kind of sick inside. And I was like, okay, that's what we're supposed to do um And so we put out, it's ah March 22nd and we have amazing speakers. So there's going to be demos before from three to four. There's a whole bunch of demos, like an oxytrio demo, which is like the oxygen facial with ah RF really cool. Yeah.
00:04:44
Speaker
um lash lifting, um what else? ah Ultrasonic ah facials. And then Cyton will be there with their latest and greatest, most amazing three-in-one machine. And they'll be doing demonstrations. And then we move in, we've got dinner, we've got cocktails, and we've got speakers. And so Cyton will be speaking um first,
00:05:11
Speaker
their one of their um amazing doctors will be speaking and then we have our featured guest which is miss jess here from your guys's podcast um and which we're so excited about couldn't be there i'm like taking one for the team because yes you are on spring break we really were both invited but i was like okay Yeah. Love to do this and represent. So we're bringing value. So Saitan's going to talk about energy based things, making money with energy. what
00:05:47
Speaker
Well, as far as devices, you know, yeah. Yeah. But that's, yeah that's the idea around it. You guys is that like energy is everything. Energy is everything, whether it be whatever, it's the same thing with the, the, so it was very, you know, the oxy trio, that's all energy.
00:06:06
Speaker
Everything you're doing is energy based. And then the same thing with the ultrasonic facial, it's all energy
European Facials and Skincare Equipment
00:06:13
Speaker
based. I mean, It goes back to that thing. We believe that we can do this, right? We're doing this on Zoom.
00:06:20
Speaker
We believe yeah we we're wrapping our brains around it, but then we go like, oh no, energy isn't real. And you're like, what? it It's like literally the life force. So anyway, and then we have at the end, the art of the European facial. So that is going to be what closes it out because while, you know, I'm a medical esthetician, love...
00:06:44
Speaker
um my regular facials i think that they're really important to know and i don't think you have to have all of the devices in order to have a really successful practice so um I just wanted Tina, who was my mentor to come and talk about it because I remember like learning from her 20 years ago and being like, yeah, yeah, yeah. Now let's get onto the good stuff. Bring me the lasers, bring me the microneedling, bring me all of that stuff. And now when I asked her to speak about European facial, she's like, what? Yeah. You want me to speak about European facials?
00:07:22
Speaker
And I'm like, yes, I wish I would have slowed down and really taken that in because now that's all I want to do. When I go get a facial, I'm just like, like make me feel like butter. Right.
00:07:39
Speaker
So that's what the event's going to be about. We have like the
Sourcing Sponsors for Event Swag Bags
00:07:43
Speaker
swag bags are going to be ridiculous. Right. We've already sold 41 tickets. Yeah. Tickets went on sale yesterday.
00:07:52
Speaker
So I'm super excited. And yeah. So we have to release this episode early. know, right? All 100 people are going to get um like massive swag bags. And then the cool part is, which, um you know, depending on what the universe wants,
00:08:11
Speaker
I can open up the ballroom and add a hundred more people. Oh my gosh. Can you, real I was wondering that. Yeah. How many, so we're in charge of the bags and we are ridiculously excited, right? test but oh my go Yes. We got the, what do we call them? Proofs like the proof. yeah like Um,
00:08:35
Speaker
How many did we order? how many are you going to order? Well, I mean, we haven't ordered them yet. So we're still there and we can always order more. so I was planning on ordering a hundred. So,
Community Connections and Supportive Networks
00:08:44
Speaker
I mean, like keep us posted, right? i will keep you posted. Yes. Cause everybody has to get an amazing swag bag.
00:08:50
Speaker
Yes. And so we're looking for sponsors too, just for stuff for the swag bag. um But we did a full page because i I didn't want people to put like pens in the swag bag. Right. I'm like, we're talking good stuff. yeah um And ARC is sponsoring the vet and Cytan and then the Academy. So we're the three of us are sharing the cost of everything.
00:09:11
Speaker
So I don't want to have other skincare lines in there because arc is a skincare line. I want to be like, you know, and I have lots of skincare that could go in there, but I'm like, okay, what are some other things that could go in there? Like, um, I mean, what are other things that women use all these businesses, you know, the cupcake shop down here, I'm going to go talk to them. yeah Like I'm like cookie bakers that make like custom cookies. Um, I'm trying to think outside the box, okay you know, mobile car detailers, like what are all things that as
00:09:44
Speaker
in my business that I use that I'm like, as a woman, this makes my life easier. Yeah.
Menstrual Cycles and Business Planning
00:09:50
Speaker
Yes. you on So are you looking for like, are are you doing vouchers too? they could do vouchers. Exactly. So they could do vouchers, but then they have to put something of value in the swag bag. So if they did a voucher, they might have to also do like a little, um like stress balls, or they might have to do like a little journal or like, we just want, you know, not only like,
00:10:13
Speaker
Not, and not just like, it could be like a 50% off voucher. I want it to have value, not like 10% off product, you know? Right. Or just advertisement for the business. Yeah. Or it can just be advertisement and a nice swag bag gift, like a nice swag gift. So.
00:10:30
Speaker
That's what we've been doing. We've been being, um like I was telling you guys before we started recording, a little bit too meticulous, I think, like trying to put it all out there. um When really, you know, making our landing pages really perfect, like here's some ideas for this and that if you want to be a sponsor, when really i think all of those sponsors are going to come from like me asking them. Yeah. Yeah. Feeling my energy and me saying, look, this is what I need you for like hydrafacial is already like, okay, what do you want? Just tell me what you want. And you know, all of those relationships that we have. So yes, it's so exciting. Marty, can you tell me about the oxygen facial with ah RF?
00:11:12
Speaker
I have not heard of this. Tiff, have you heard this? I have, but i I'm not clear on what it is exactly. so the first thing that happens is an oxy pod goes on it. So if you've heard of the Genio, the ah it which is or the Genio glow or whatever it is, we have a machine that's very similar. if Not we meaning ARC.
00:11:31
Speaker
um And it's called the Oxytrio. And so the first thing is this oxygen pod and it goes on and it exfoliates the skin with oxygen. So it gets this big foaming, like all over your face. And then you, you do and to like sculpt the face. So then you, you know, you have different levels of RF that you do on the face and it's just feels like warm and relaxing and you're sculpting the face. And we did a half and half and you, I mean, you see such a difference. It's wild.
00:12:03
Speaker
Um, and then, and then after that comes ultrasound and the ultrasound is what we put on to penetrate the serums in that we want in the skin.
00:12:14
Speaker
So is this a specific device that does all of this? Yes. Okay. Specific device. And you guys do it there. And we do it at the spa. It's one of our biggest things.
00:12:25
Speaker
We charge $175 for it at the spa. We're going to be doing it at, you know, doing demos of it. um It can be done on any area of the body, but it's just this, it's a 90 minute facial. It takes a while to do it.
00:12:39
Speaker
um But the Genio, um you know, does essentially the exact same thing, um which, $30,000 our machine is like $5,000. thirty thousand dollars and our machine is like five thousand dollars Genio is the name brand. Am I following this? ka Yes. hey And I mean, it's a great device. I don't want to say anything bad about it. yeah um I think ours is better because we looked at that. And um you guys, the markup in machines is...
00:13:11
Speaker
Enormous. Enormous. We had this conversation yesterday. I know even what this machine costs from doing all the backend research. And I'm just like, device companies are making so much money. It's true.
00:13:29
Speaker
And which is also my little pushback of let's get back to the European facial that doesn't need a device. Well, I think that knowing ah for every esthetician, how to give a really good European facial is foundational. And then you can build on that always, right. With really amazing facial massage and having a great facial massage technique and knowing it like the back of your hand.
00:13:54
Speaker
But I do think that like we had this conversation yesterday in our mastermind group call. on devices and estheticians thinking and feeling like they have to go the device route and the name brand device route. And it just puts them so upside down for so long. And then it sinks them, especially if they're, you know, a solo esthetician starting out and then they can't get out from under those payments yes and can't ever make any money.
00:14:20
Speaker
I'm such an advocate for like, there is, you know, people want to say things like, oh, well that, you know, this device was made in China or that I'm like, they are all made there just so you know, they're all made there.
00:14:33
Speaker
So you can talk about this machine, but your, your name brand machine was made there also. Yeah. It just has the brand go with And not seeing, you know, the one that you just order from, from China that you haven't refined and done, you know, made changes to is is amazing.
00:14:52
Speaker
But, um, I know that the one that you've worked hard on has all of these amazing features, but there's a whole bunch of other ones that are as well. And like I said, the device game is huge. um I think estheticians are not being taught properly in school. So they come out, the device is easy. You want to know why I start everybody on the OxyTrio machine? Because you can't mess it up.
00:15:18
Speaker
I mean, you come to work for me, your first thing you learn is the OxyTrio because you're going to start making money immediately and you can't mess that up. I love it. I love it too. And so that's what, it's really what it is. Well, I love that you're holding space for both, right. For both different modalities. And again, it just comes back to that energy. and I love, love, love the whole, um, like precipice of this event with these devices and everything that you do, the energy behind it. I've actually never heard it described that way, but you're exactly right. It is energy and energy is a life force. Yes. I just love that perspective.
00:15:58
Speaker
I know. i know. i love it too. Anytime you like do a laser treatment, when you think about what's actually happening in the skin, it's like what the sun does for us. here um I could go on and on about what I think about all of that. So and yeah.
00:16:17
Speaker
Okay. We'll have you back on the podcast. I
Aligning Work with Menstrual Phases
00:16:19
Speaker
know. That's what I was thinking. Round three. Oh gosh. Before we move on, Jess, tell us how you are.
00:16:28
Speaker
Oh, I'm, I'm fine. Same as you guys. i just, yesterday and it was the first time I've taken anxiety medication in so long. It's just like a very frantic, I don't know. It's, it's really weird. And I initially was like, oh, it's cause I just got back from a trip and um you know, all that. And I was like exhausted and had all of the things feed all at the same time. And then I didn't sleep last night and yeah. But I'm good. i woke up feeling fine. but I don't know. It doesn't I just don't really feel like myself 110%. I do in this moment because I'm with you guys.
00:17:07
Speaker
But like, yeah, outside of this, I'm like, what? What am I doing right now? What is going on But I really do think, I mean, as soon as I saw how bright the moon was last night, I was like, oh, yeah. It's like, right you know, there are some moons. I i mean, we're lunatics as women. i don't care. Like, and there are some moons that have massive effects on us. I don't think all of them do.
00:17:33
Speaker
But I definitely think that there are certain ones that we just feel on a deep level. And I'm sorry, but I can't control it. I can't control it. it's it It really can kind of take you over. And so when I saw the moon last night, i was thinking about a time earlier in 2025 where there was some full moon. that I was kind of responding the same way. I'm like, I'm so tired. I can't even keep my eyes open yet. There's like a restlessness happening at the same time. And then I remember talking to our friend Lauren and she's like, oh yeah, that's because did did did did it and I'm like, okay. And so I don't know if it's the moon and the final shedding or whatever. I'm a not into it. I don't like this. I don't feel like myself. Um, and so I'm just hoping,
00:18:21
Speaker
And planning that as the day goes on, we're all going to be good. We're going to feel like ourselves. We're all going to move through this. And then obviously, it's important to just reflect why. it says you know What is this frantic energy? Or you know what are we holding that still needs to be released? And how do we you know want to go about that? I think because it is such an intense energy, there's obviously something there still.
00:18:51
Speaker
Can you be done? Well, and you said something that just kind of, um so you said like right now, like on this with you guys, I feel like myself and that's the power of energy and co-regulation.
00:19:05
Speaker
Because, and that I think what, if women know during these certain cycles, whether it's the moon or, you know, what you've got going on you know, inside of you, it's about, sometimes you need that co-regulation. You need to sit down with somebody that makes you feel Right.
00:19:24
Speaker
Yes. And we've really been that for each other recently. I feel like we've got, you know, this beautiful bond and I actually wanted our listeners to know, like we actually, the three of us schedule time to get together on phone calls for like two hours because it is so important to like have people in your corner and co-regulate and bounce ideas and um, and just talk and be, be very real. I am very, very grateful for both of you and the, the relationship that we have, our little trio that we've developed.
00:20:01
Speaker
Same. It's been, it's been very, um, like pleasantly helpful more so than a, I knew it would be. Cause I was like, when it came up, I was like, yes, let's make that happen. And then ever ever after we're together, I always feel so much better. And I even like message you guys. I'm like, man, I needed that. And it is like that co-regulation and um that connection and that safety that, you know, we've been able to create for each other and hold space for. So it's been very powerful. Yeah, it really has. Yeah.
00:20:35
Speaker
Yeah. um Okay. you guys feel ready to get into the episode? Yes. yeah I'm so excited. So, you know, Marty, I think I'll just let you kind of take it away. and then then Tiff and i will just ask questions as things come up. I'm literally overjoyed and so grateful for this conversation and the time that you have put into creating a ah class around this. um It really...
00:21:05
Speaker
I just want to give you all that that credit and recognition for turning this subject into thing, into an actual thing. and And we're really, really grateful that you're going to share this with our community today because it's going to be a really insightful conversation.
00:21:22
Speaker
I'm excited too. Cool. I'm excited. The only thing I have nerves about right now is the fact that I'm terrible with technology. So but wellll help I'm going to try sharing my screen here and let's hope it works. Okay.
00:21:38
Speaker
Let me know. Okay. So we're going to go share.
00:21:44
Speaker
i think I gave you the permission. So hopefully it just pops up. There we go.
00:21:55
Speaker
have to click OK and ok
00:22:04
Speaker
Usually I have um my Jessica here that ah keeps me from having a complete meltdown over it. You know, technology is supposed to help our lives, but I think it depends on the person.
00:22:20
Speaker
Yes. And the day. The end the day. going to blame this on the full moon too. Okay. So you guys do this all the time, probably. Right. So tell me what you guys are seeing. Anything.
00:22:33
Speaker
It's just black, just black. The whole thing. What do you see? Okay. I see you guys on the side and then it says your screen sharing is paused. Okay.
00:22:49
Speaker
Um, okay. I'm sorry, guys. no No, you are completely fine. Marty, I'm just gonna, um, if i make you host, it's not gonna stop recording, right?
00:23:05
Speaker
Let me try this. Okay.
00:23:09
Speaker
Screens. Okay, come on. And even if we don't screen share, I'm sure that will be fine. Do you guys see my Canva? No. No.
00:23:20
Speaker
Tiff, this reminds me of the presentation you did in my class. I still have PTSD about that. was thinking about that. Can run grab my assistant? Jess, do you want to pause? Mm-hmm.
00:23:36
Speaker
Okay, guys. Okay. After some technical difficulties, we got it. Thank you for being patient with me. Of course. That's the best part about this is knowing that I'm among um people who genuinely care and want me to succeed. So they're like, oh no yes, whatever. that's That's what feels so great.
00:23:58
Speaker
Yes. Okay. So we're going to talk about something that... is mind-blowing. I think when I learned about this, I was like, how am i almost 50 years old learning about this? Like, I don't even have a uterus anymore. how
Integrating Cycle Awareness into Business
00:24:16
Speaker
do I not know this? um And so It really came about because of my daughter. I have a 17 year old daughter now, but like, she has struggled with like, I'm like, you are like different people, like witnessing the different times of the month. And then because me getting synced with her and like understanding where we were and what was going to be happening this week, the weeks that were going to be rough, the weeks that she was going to have a lot of energy. And I'm like, Whoa, this is a thing.
00:24:51
Speaker
Right. Like, why didn't I know that? And so then I started thinking like you, like we're women running businesses. We have to run our businesses around our cycle. We are done with the days.
00:25:06
Speaker
where our cycle is a burden. Our cycle is a blessing. Our wombs create life. And without our cycles, we cannot create life. And we're talking about energy. Energy is everything. There's so much energy and it is very thoughtful energy in our cycles. It was meant to function this way. So yeah,
00:25:30
Speaker
We're going to talk about a conversation that is super long overdue. And it's so important that you listen to how your body feels. No more pushing through.
00:25:41
Speaker
No more saying, well... I don't know what's going on, but I feel this way, but I have to get this done. It's some days that's going to come up, but if you can schedule your calendar, knowing how you're going to be feeling on certain weeks, that for me has been key.
00:26:00
Speaker
And are things going to come up? Absolutely. But if you can be intentional about this, you can start living in flow and flow makes your business like if If you want to 10 times your business, start living in flow because it makes all the difference.
00:26:19
Speaker
So some days we have highs and some days are low, some are creative. And then there are days that we want to burn the whole thing to the ground. And this is totally normal. do you guys have those? yeah We talk about this all the time. How teroo Yes. Yes.
00:26:38
Speaker
um And sorry for some of the typos because I do these myself. Right. My assistant just came on full time. I'm so excited. She hasn't had a chance to get to this yet. No, she hasn't.
00:26:51
Speaker
But this is normal. And I want us to stop villainizing ourselves and learning to work with it. Stop shaming yourself. Stop letting other people shame you. Like my ex-husband once said to me, he said, you are like at the time, whatever age I was. And, but he said, you've had like 30 years of having your period. Can you get it together?
00:27:12
Speaker
And I was just like, oh, so after 30 years of having my period, I'm not supposed to feel the way I feel. I'm supposed to know how to like push through it. I'm not supposed to be agitated. I'm not supposed to do all of the things.
00:27:27
Speaker
um And I'm like, no. And I remember feeling so much shame, like maybe, Maybe I'm overdramatic. Like maybe I, maybe this isn't how other women act. Like I should get it together.
00:27:41
Speaker
And now that I'm out of that, toxic marriage, I'm like, wow, I'm allowed to be feminine and feminine is feeling your feelings. I'm like, I get to feel the way I feel.
00:27:55
Speaker
i don't get to make the rest of the world miserable because of it, but I was never that kind of person anyways. So I'm like, I get to feel these feelings. I get to be sensitive. I get to do all of that. So I now know this is like my superpower and I want all the women to know that same thing.
00:28:13
Speaker
Well, I think you think it, Oh yeah, go ahead. Because we're probably going to say the exact same thing as usual. I think like, don't you think that the majority of women live most of their lives from being a child through puberty, through early adulthood as having to maybe mask those feelings, especially around our cycle. So when you get to 30, you get to 40, you get to even 50 and you're like, screw that. I am done living that way anymore. And then we really lean into the feminine. So I do think that that's pretty normal. We're told to be a certain way when we are growing up, when we're young, you know, and old patterns and i yeah whatever you call them, you know, it's how we're conditioned.
00:28:55
Speaker
It's so true. And I found myself, the reason this hit me so hard is because as my daughter, she was um diagnosed with period psychosis. So the week before her period, yes. Is that crazy? She was actually like,
00:29:11
Speaker
insane and, and it's getting better as she gets older. But so she, I found myself like doing what my ex-husband did to me going, Oh my gosh, like seriously snap out of it. What is your problem? Like, like this is going to happen to you. I told her one day, I said, this is going to happen to you for like the next 50 years. Like you got to get it together.
00:29:35
Speaker
And then I was like, wow, I'm just shaming her for feeling something she cannot control instead of giving her the tools of like, okay, well, you are having the week before your period. You, we just scheduled you eight activities.
00:29:52
Speaker
You're, this is not the time to do that. Right. Why did we do that? so Now I know like, okay, she's, this is how she's going to be. And so it's like, when she says, Hey mom, I've got this, this, this, and this going on. And I go, Oh, look at what week it is. She's like, Oh yeah, I'm going move a couple of those things.
00:30:11
Speaker
And it makes the, the psychosis is so much less because she doesn't have, she doesn't feel overwhelmed. She doesn't feel like she's always letting people down because she doesn't feel good. Well, and there's just so much understanding behind why she feels that way for both of you, probably for the whole family. Yes. Right. Yep.
00:30:31
Speaker
One thing that I think is important that you said is that it doesn't give you permission to like be, you know, an asshole, when you're you know, when you're on your cycle. And I think that that's an important differentiator is that even, you know, yes, we're going to learn all about this and understand it, but that doesn't mean that it's okay to be like mean, you know know, when we're on our cycles at all, it's about the empowerment aspect and learning to, to work with it and probably just having the awareness that you are being mean, you know, because, and And why that is so that then we can and like stop ourselves in our tracks sort of a thing.
00:31:09
Speaker
That's exactly why I think we need to know more about it yeah What's going on with us. So instead of just letting things become out of control, we go like, oh, I'm feeling this way because of this. I need to take a deep breath. I need to like, yeah. And we don't have a right to just be complete assholes, even though we feel like it. Like, do you guys sometimes feel like,
00:31:33
Speaker
Oh my gosh, I'm about to rage. Why do I feel this way? And then you go, Oh, or like you feel that way for a couple of days and then your period comes and you go, Oh man, that's why I that way. definitely. So much accountability though, yeah you know, and that's empowering in itself.
00:31:52
Speaker
Yes, it is. So we're just going to break these up into our phases. Okay. So we've got our menstrual phase. So these are going to be like days one through five. So we're starting with when we're on our period. Okay. That's, that's your first day of your menstrual cycle, right? The first day your period starts, this is going to be for rest, reflection, and intuition.
00:32:17
Speaker
Your energy is going to be low. You're going to be craving quiet rest in a alone time. Okay. Workouts, this is not you you know youre not high intensity, gentle yoga, stretching, walking. um Creativity is going to be inner visioned, is heightened, ideal for journaling, intuitive planning, and vision mapping.
00:32:38
Speaker
like that You feel really actually creative during this time. This is a real gift. And the reason why you're bleeding and the reason why you feel so yucky is because you are supposed to go back into yourself and rest.
00:32:52
Speaker
That's the point. It's the forcing of it. Like it's all part of the plan. um Self-care is going to be baths, warmth, rest, and early bedtimes.
00:33:04
Speaker
um For business, we're going to have light client days or half days. We're going to review our finances because this is when we kind of get clear about things because we're intuitive during this time.
00:33:16
Speaker
We're going to reflect on past promotions, like what worked, what didn't work. Because we're going to have more time because we're not going to be taking as many clients. We're not going to be doing as many activities.
00:33:28
Speaker
And this is where we are going to avoid launches launches and focus on planning. So when you have something you want to launch, like don't do it when like you're launching and you're like, oh, wow. And I feel absolutely miserable this week.
00:33:46
Speaker
And the last thing I want to do is get on social media and talk about this four times. So, but you need to be doing that for your business. So put it off one week, put it, you know, this is not the time to launch.
00:34:04
Speaker
Okay, so then we've got our follicular phase. This is day six through 13. This is for fresh starts, high energy and curiosity.
00:34:16
Speaker
Our energy is rising. We're clear headed. We're motivated and energized. This is when we're going to do cardio strength training. This is when you want to try a new workout class. You're like, oh, give me something new right now. I love this.
00:34:31
Speaker
Your spark is high. New ideas are flowing. You've just come from your intuitive where you've been thinking and marinating. And now you're like, all that stuff is like, how do I put that into action?
00:34:46
Speaker
ah This is the best time to batch create social media, launch promotions, schedule a branding shoot and engage in staff training or continued education.
00:34:56
Speaker
Like think about those of us that have a staff or even are part of part of a staff. The last thing you want to do when you feel like garbage during your menstrual cycle is have a staff staff meeting and listen to someone talk about something that for whatever reason at that moment you do not care about.
00:35:14
Speaker
It's like, right. And here's the other cool part. You guys, I forgot to mention at the beginning, your whole staff. This is also very special, very, very special and very, very, very, very planned by God, the universe.
00:35:31
Speaker
You guys all sync up so that you're all doing the same thing. So you all feel the same way at the same time. It happens in your household. It happens at your work. And that is very intentional on nature's part so that you don't have in one household, three women doing different stuff. So you can all come together as a group and do things together.
00:35:56
Speaker
So you don't have to worry that, you know, your team and it might be like, I'm on the end of this phase. I'm starting this phase, but it's never going to you will sync up. I mean, have you guys experienced that? It's always magical when you're like having a conversation, then, you know, one of you throws out like, oh, I'm just about to start my period. And she's like, me too. I'm like, oh my gosh. And it always like blows my mind every time, but it really is. I love how you are keep going back to it's very intentional. It's on purpose. We are designed this way and it is so powerful and really beautiful.
00:36:30
Speaker
Isn't it? Yeah. No, when we were little, we just thought like, or when we knew this and people talked about it and you're just like, but why, what would be the point? I never questioned it though. Yeah. Before. Right.
00:36:42
Speaker
And it's like, wow, this is an important piece of it because we have to get stuff done and this is how we do that. to run the world It's so cool that you do sync up with other women because that's so much more powerful, right? When you guys are all synced to together. and I think I'm just starting to put that together as you're talking ah because we are in such a like feminine rising and community over competition and women kind of coming together to support each other and to brainstorm and to so being synced together hormonally, like, yes, how intentional is that on God's part that he would make sure that that was happening happening so that women can come together and be more powerful and more supportive because we are such a beautiful, creative force in the world.
00:37:35
Speaker
Yes. I love because we're meant to live in these little pods. And even if not live, we're meant to like create these little pods for ourselves. yeah Right. Yeah. Because we need the help of other women.
00:37:46
Speaker
boom Yeah. I know. Juicy. i to know And then we have our ovulatory phase. That's days 14 through 17. This is when you are like literally magnetic. This is like the best when you're ovulating, you are like feeling like on top of the world.
00:38:09
Speaker
Your communication is strong. This is like when you should sell, sell, sell. Your energy is at its peak. You're extroverted, you're magnetic, and you feel unstoppable.
00:38:21
Speaker
um This is the ideal time to create content on camera and connect with your audience because your audience will get that too. That energy will come through like, ooh, what is up with her this week? Like i feel that through the camera. Yeah.
00:38:36
Speaker
Um, you're going to schedule your busiest client days. You're going to go live
Synchronized Cycles and Collective Productivity
00:38:40
Speaker
on social media. You're going to record a podcast. You guys will now be like going back and looking through your cycles to see when you should record.
00:38:49
Speaker
Um, and then you're going network or lead meetings. Like this is when people are going to get what you're saying because you are so confident about it.
00:39:00
Speaker
Like your aura is like this and people are just like, Oh, I got to be inside it. Oh, this is when you need to hydrate well, but guard yourself against overbooking because this is when you're like, I can do it all. And so you're going to feel like, yeah, sure. I can. And you're going to overcommit yourself and you don't want to do that. And the worst part, this is the worst part.
00:39:22
Speaker
Um, and everyone needs to write down. So they know when they're on their ovulatory phase, you're going to overbook yourself for next week and the week after in the week after. And you know, those weeks come and you're like, why would I do this to myself?
00:39:37
Speaker
It's because you were in your ovulatory phase and you felt like She-Ra and you were like, i could do that. Story of my life. And when I, and it always ends up, I end up overbooking myself on, on that first cycle where I don't want to do anything.
00:39:55
Speaker
Yes. And you're like, oh what was I thinking? Why did I even consider this? I say that too, all the time. no Interesting. Okay. Yeah.
00:40:09
Speaker
Then we have our luteal phase. This is the last phase. This is days 18 through 28. This is focus, detail, and completion. So this is before our period is going to start.
00:40:22
Speaker
Um, it's steady at first. So at the beginning of this, we know we're like, we're doing good. We got this. We're riding the high from the, from the ovulatory phase. And then we get into this and it's steady at first, but dips sharply before menstruation. We know those days right before when you're just like, oh my gosh, I was hit by a truck. What is going on?
00:40:44
Speaker
Um, in the early Luteal, you're going to do strength training and steady workouts. You're still going to feel good, but late Luteal is gentle movement and rest and naps. Like, I mean, if you feel like it, take a nap, don't work out.
00:40:57
Speaker
Um, creativity, your brain thrives on detail, editing and finishing products. Every time we go into our period, it's like nesting.
00:41:09
Speaker
So that the luteal phase is like nesting. So there's magnetism, grounding practices, longer sleeps longer sleep, fewer clients. So you're going to be really...
00:41:23
Speaker
like getting yourself ready. And if you get yourself in this pattern, you guys, where, you know, you're just like, okay, you know, when to ramp up and you know, when to wind down and it's literally moving in a circle.
00:41:37
Speaker
And that's how it's going every single month. And then, you know, you're going to have a few little weird moments because of the moon. And it's going to be like, wait, wait, where am I at? What's going on? But If you live by this, you'll see a huge change, huge.
00:41:57
Speaker
Okay, so we are going to, um this is for the class and we'll just kind of go through this. Love it. So in your menstrual, you want quiet, you feel sensitive, you have less patience, you have a low social battery, everything feels like it's too much, you're craving comfort food, you have a zero tolerance for small talk, and you need more space, right?
00:42:25
Speaker
You're just like, go away. Mm-hmm. And then your follicular, you want to start projects. You feel inspired. You have more energy. You're open to trying new things.
00:42:37
Speaker
You're organizing everything. You feel lighter in your body. You're saying yes to things you avoided last week. And your brain is full of ideas. And then you get to your ovulatory. You feel magnetic. You want connection. You have more confidence.
00:42:55
Speaker
You communicate really easily. You feel pretty naturally. You speak clearly and professionally without trying. Have you guys ever done that? Like even on your podcast where you're like, why am I having trouble talking this week? Why did I feel so good in the last one?
00:43:12
Speaker
Yeah. Absolutely. Yeah. Yep. You want to be around people you like. You feel like showing up online. and then... Move you guys.
00:43:24
Speaker
Your luteal phase. You want order. You want things done. you have more irritability. You crave structure. um Messes drive you nuts.
00:43:35
Speaker
You feel more critical of yourself. This is literally the self-talk. You're like, I'm fat. I'm so fat. And I'm so bloated. And then you're like, and again, We we don't put it together that in a day we're going to start our period. We just start with this negative self-talk. You're more critical.
00:43:55
Speaker
You find yourself thinking negatively. You just have this overall not nice feeling. Um, And that for me was like, is let's be to a T. yeah And again, i don't have a uterus because I've had a partial hysterectomy, but you still, even if you've had a hysterectomy, people think that, you know, as long as your ovaries are there, you are still going through all of these.
Challenges of Birth Control on Cycles
00:44:22
Speaker
have a question about that. So I'm just thinking about what about women say like you who have had up a partial hysterectomy or that are say like on an IUD and they don't bleed. i know They're still cycling. Do you have advice for them of how they can kind of figure out where they're at?
00:44:39
Speaker
It's really, those are the things that make it really hard. And unfortunately, Those are the women that feel really, really off and lost sometimes. yeah I talked to like my friends that have that. um And I had mine taken out because I couldn't figure, what you know, before I had my hysterectomy, because I couldn't figure out what the heck was going on with me, you know? And, you know, sometimes you're bleeding twice in a month.
00:45:07
Speaker
And that is the sad part about modern medicine that is great because of pregnancy, but is so hard on us. um And that's why, you know, as as annoying it as it is to take that birth control pill, it still keeps this part of your cycle, like predictable. So, you know, where you are. Yeah. yourself yeah Yeah. And I think there's, i mean, this is a whole other conversation, but I think there's so much,
00:45:35
Speaker
Um, I think it's so necessary for our bodies to shed and to bleed and to go through these cycles fully, you know? um so yeah. Okay. So linked all kinds of, um, you know, I'm not an expert on it, but they've linked, you know, different things to us, our birth control and us not shedding. And, you know, it's like, I was on depo Provera when I was younger for however many years I'm like, I didn't have a period for five years. Um,
00:46:05
Speaker
So it's like, yeah. Yeah, it is weird. And I was just going to say basically the same thing. There's been times as a competitor, there was a chunk of years where I would lose my period for a long time. And it's miserable. It's miserable. It's such a weird thing. But all I wanted was to get my period back and to feel normal again. So when you aren't having your period,
00:46:34
Speaker
it's, it really does throw things off. Like as weird as it is, as a woman to go through these phases, phases, it's also just, it's normal. It's inherent in our, i don't know, makeup, biology our yeah biology that like, no, i I like, I just knew I need to go through these phases. I don't feel good. i don't feel right. i like my,
00:46:58
Speaker
your hunger signals are weird, your hormones, your emotions, your, your body, like we need to go through these phases. And so that was such an interesting experience for me because you would think, and I think a lot of women are like, I love not having my period. And I can see if you have, you know, endometriosis or if you have really painful, heavy periods, like, sure, we wouldn't want that. But I think those of us with normal periods, like you should have it. i You should, you You should have and learn about the phases so that you can just lean into that. And I really like my cycle is very sacred to me now. I never want to lose it again until biologically my body decides to, you know, not do that anymore. But it is interesting. And you've lost yours. You know, you're like, it is a weird experience to not have it. And nothing feels right. Life doesn't life feels off. Yeah.
00:47:53
Speaker
Right. Well, in my, I have friends and clients, you know, they talk to me about it a lot and it's usually in my skin feels this way or whatnot, where they're like, um, you know, my best friend in particular, um, she won't watch this cause she's not an esthetician, so I share it, but it's like, um, she's always like, like feeling like she's in,
00:48:16
Speaker
um the luteal phase. She's always like, she has an IUD and she's just always like really grumpy and really feeling bloated and thinking negatively. She's like, I don't know what's wrong with me. Why am I feeling like this constantly? And it's because her body cannot get her through the cycles it needs to get her through. Her body and her are fighting.
00:48:39
Speaker
And I don't want to shame any woman for their choice in birth control because birth control is amazing. We do also not want to have a whole bunch of babies. Right? Right. Right. That's a whole other talk. But um gosh, I just, I wish modern medicine would do better. Yeah. i't I don't agree. I definitely agree. I definitely agree with that. It's tricky thing.
00:49:03
Speaker
Yeah. Yes. Okay. So me get it to But also, so here's a question, um to you asked, like, how could you kind of still know where you're at in your cycle? I'm wondering if the flow app, like, even though you're not bleeding, it could still potentially, like, track it in a way on the flow app. You do have to, like, mark your period days, though. So I don't know how that would work, but I'm sure that there would be a way. i don't know.
00:49:33
Speaker
Yeah. Okay. So in your menstrual phase, these are some things you're going to do. Light mat admin only check emails, reply slowly, keep it simple.
00:49:46
Speaker
ah This is when you're going to review what went well this month and what was heavy. Shorten your schedule. Allow more buffer time between appointments. Look at your goals and see what aligns.
00:49:57
Speaker
Focus on the treatments you enjoy. You're already having a hard time. So make what do stuff you like. Drink water, rest. Don't skip Lynch, which is lunch. Take breaks.
00:50:12
Speaker
Plan nothing big.
00:50:17
Speaker
Your follicular, this is where you are brainstorming 10 content ideas for next month. You're outlining scripts for your two to three talking videos. You're not going to film them yet though, right?
00:50:30
Speaker
You're going to update your service descriptions and your treatment menus and make them more engaging and emotional because you're going to feel that way then. So those words are going to flow for you.
00:50:41
Speaker
Um, like, do you ever look back at stuff and you're like, I wrote that. That's what I called that. Like in my treatment menu, I'm like, what? That's weird. That's doesn't align with me. Cause I'm in my emotional, you know, depending on how I'm feeling.
00:50:56
Speaker
You're going to review your pricing and decide what needs to be adjusted for the quarter. This is when you want to create new facial protocols, like talk about your seasonal facials, reorganize your back bar and make a list um to order. You're going to refresh your IG bio and your highlights at the top.
00:51:17
Speaker
You're going to watch one educational video from the med spa mentor lesson. There's a little plug. um You're going to refresh your bed linens with like a new blanket. You want to make things nice and pretty. This is making me.
Technology for Cycle Tracking
00:51:37
Speaker
Here we go. So in the ovulatory phase, this is when you're gonna film all your talking videos that you outlined last week, because you feel magnetic. You're gonna go live on IG or teach a quick mini lesson.
00:51:51
Speaker
You're gonna stack your books with high demand treatments. This is when you're, cause you're going to be on, you're going to reach out to clients to follow up or rebook because again, you're magnetic because and you're going to want to engage.
00:52:06
Speaker
You're going to host virtual skincare chats because you are going to shine during this time. You're going to collaborate with other businesses. This is the time where you're like, oh my gosh, I'm going to reach out to them. But remember when you collaborate, don't make your appointment for coming up.
00:52:23
Speaker
You want to make sure you go back to this. You're going to book models for future content, send out a newsletter, B-roll footage filming. So set up to film every single day of your um ovulatory phase. If you're like, i don't, I don't know. i don't know where to start with my social media calendar. Start with, this is when you're going to do all your filming because you'll feel like doing it and you'll, you'll do it.
00:52:50
Speaker
You're going to feel pretty and stuff. So you'll want to. Then our luteal phase, we're going to finish projects you started earlier in the month. You're going to update your business s SOPs or policies.
00:53:03
Speaker
um You're going to organize drawers, cabinets, back par and retail. Like this is like kind of your nesting phase. You're going to tighten your cancellation policies, go through your system and make sure all your sales are closed out. If there's anything that you need to finalize, you're finalizing it.
00:53:21
Speaker
review your finances, expenses, and revenue, prep your post-care kits, make sure pre post-care printouts are replenished and ready to go This is when you want to deep clean your wax pots, like the stuff that you consider deep, deep cleaning, get that done here, make sure everything is restocked and ready to go for the next week. So the next week you're not walking in going like, oh, this place is a pigsty.
00:53:48
Speaker
ah but There's nothing like who didn't do the towels and you want to throw a fit. i don't want to be here anyways. Exactly. Don't give yourself any excuses to lose your mind. You know, when it takes like one little thing, it's really setting your future self up for success. Yes.
00:54:09
Speaker
Yes, exactly. Instead of expecting all of this from yourself, when you don't feel like doing it, And then not doing it or doing it with resentment and going home and being mad at yourself for the way that you're feeling.
00:54:25
Speaker
And then like this whole, your nervous system can never regulate because you're like constantly mad at yourself because you didn't do something right because you listened to your body.
00:54:37
Speaker
So like you said, setting yourself up. um The feminine return, let yourself be strong. Let yourself be soft.
00:54:48
Speaker
Let yourself be intuitive. Let yourself rest and rise. And there is no good or bad phase. Not one of these phases is good or bad. It's like when we learn, when we're like, this morning I was talking to my niece and I said, oh my gosh, 2025 was so bad. And then I came back and I said, and no, no.
00:55:07
Speaker
2025 taught me so much about who I am. That was hard. And so there's no good or bad phase. These are, they're, they're needed. um There's only wisdom. There's only rhythm.
00:55:23
Speaker
There's only you meeting yourself in whatever version of womanhood shows up that day. Like there's no saying, I wish I felt different. I should feel differently. Even there's just none of that. Like we stop saying that stuff.
00:55:38
Speaker
No more but building businesses around the women, that the woman you think you should be. When you give yourself permission to be a woman, you give your clients the same permission.
00:55:49
Speaker
Women are craving that. Women want to be around that energy where you give yourself permission. It automatically transfers to the other women around you. It co-regulates the women around you.
00:56:03
Speaker
And it's important. And if you're not, you know, as women, we don't do it a lot of things for ourselves because we're running households and stuff. Do it for your families, you know, do it, set yourself up for success so that your families get the best version of you and teach your girls about this. Teach your boys about this. Like mom's feeling this way today. And it's because of this, like having a period is not bad.
00:56:32
Speaker
Like, can we stop saying having a period is bad or weird or like, I love, I was in the kitchen the other day with my daughter and her boyfriend. She's almost 18. He's 19. And she made a comment about her period.
00:56:49
Speaker
I felt myself kind of go, are we talking about this? Yeah. Right. And then I went, I love that. She's telling her boyfriend about her period.
00:56:59
Speaker
Yeah. He's just like saying like, Hey, don't mess with me right now. I'm on my period. i tre lightly i love it great When I was a kid, we pretended it did not exist. Yeah. So true. It's so true. it was like mortification. Yeah. Like was an uncomfortable subject. We don't go there. We're just going to pretend it doesn't exist and we're going to pretend like we're fine. And that's why we're here. conversation because we're Not fine.
00:57:29
Speaker
Right. And we don't need to be fine. You know what it makes me think of too, is like, um, you know, the, it we'll just call it the Christian philosophy of like, um,
00:57:40
Speaker
Eve eating the fruit from the tree, eating the apple, and then kind of like that's, you know, being well quote unquote cursed with the period. And so oh my gosh there's been like this, like periods suck and this like cursing around it. But what if like we, and it just came to me,
00:57:59
Speaker
What if like God or source, like, like you said in the beginning, it's actually like,
Cycle Awareness for Empowerment
00:58:04
Speaker
no, we're going to gift women this gift, this beautiful gift so that she has this wisdom and this rhythm and women can connect and self co-regulate and all of these beautiful things that can come with it. And so I just love this conversation around changing the narrative around that as a whole. I think it's so generationally healing yeah for the past generations and future generations. Yeah.
00:58:29
Speaker
Yes. Yeah. It also, it makes me think about too, just with every everything on this screen and everything you just said, Marty, how much um women are in resistance to how they feel and in resistance to their phases. And even when we're coaching people, a lot of this, a lot of what we do so is give people permission, just, you Be exactly where you are now and be empowered in that and accept that. And I feel like so much of our phases and understanding them and accepting them is going to help a lot of women release a lot of the resistance that we have to how we are feeling or how we are, you know, what we are experiencing. Because we, i know all all three of us don't like the word should.
00:59:22
Speaker
It's just such a, such a resistance, like no more building businesses around the woman you think you should be. It's crazy that we do that to ourselves. And so I think that ah just learning about this will release so much of that and truly give women permission to be in acceptance and lean into it.
00:59:43
Speaker
Mm hmm. Like, absolutely. And that's why, like, what are we here for? If it's not to, it's not to make a whole bunch of money. Like that's, you know, that's our God given right as well.
00:59:55
Speaker
But like, that's just not for me that fulfilling. um I, I want to make a difference. And, and for me, I've learned it's about me learning about my feminine, teaching other women about their feminine, right?
01:00:08
Speaker
And when people look at me and they're just like, well, but how did you build your business? I'm like, okay, I did a lot of things really wrong. Here's what I've learned. That's right. And let me help fast track you. So you don't have to have all those years of wrong.
01:00:21
Speaker
And yeah, you, you're going to make mistakes, but if you really return to your feminine, like we have so many answers inside of us. Yeah. And, and this self-care thing, um, it's like a word that you know gets thrown around, but God built it into us. It was like, well, here's the time that I need you to sit back and focus on your self-care.
01:00:45
Speaker
Here's the time that I don't, this is when you can ask, act more masculine because you're going to be on fire, but you're really going to be on fire with this like goddess energy. That's also so magnetic,
01:00:58
Speaker
Um, and in this, you know, we can have these masculine containers that we hold it in but we can still flow in them as women. um but if we don't understand our flow, then we don't understand any of it.
01:01:14
Speaker
oh Absolutely. That was like a mic drop. yeah but but I have a technical question. So how would you recommend, um women and estheticians, beauty professionals in particular, implementing their cycle into their schedule to like make it effective. So what's coming up for me, cause I'm like, I have the, I have the period app where I track my cycle, but then maybe I need to actually mark on my, my schedule, my main schedule, my a cycle.
01:01:47
Speaker
Yep. i I want to have a color coded schedule. Like let's have red week. Let's have pink week. Let's have, you know, salmon week. Let's have whatever, whatever colors you identify with power, with rest, with whatever, you know, if you, and,
01:02:07
Speaker
you know, like for me, like the menstrual week is like light pink because I need to be soft with myself. Right. Ovulatory is red. Like, let's go. you got this.
01:02:18
Speaker
And so having the, that color coded, um, is really cool. Um, and you just have to buy like separate apps that you can do that in. I wish I could do it on my booking system. I have to like go to one and then the other, but even in, um,
01:02:35
Speaker
ah in your Google calendar, you can color code. So um you can, you know, give different tasks. And so you just basically make it a task for that color.
01:02:48
Speaker
And then you don't have to think about it. You're like, you associate, it's really important though. Like for in neuroscience, you have to associate like smells, colors, sounds with things to remember them. So assign it a color because that will start, that will start you like the, your brain will be like, oh yeah, that's that week. Okay. Yeah.
01:03:09
Speaker
And it'll remind you how you feel during that week when you see that color. And so you won't go, Oh, that's my pink week. I know they really want me to do this. So I'm going to do it anyways. And you'll go, no, no, no, no. no no Cause I feel like this.
01:03:25
Speaker
That's, that's very helpful. I like the color and like, um, attaching the feeling behind where you're at. And so, um yeah, I wish my booking system had color codes too, but I wonder if I can kind of figure it that out. Cause that's like the main calendar that I use. I know mine too.
01:03:42
Speaker
I have to go now between them because of that. But yeah, um that's helpful though. So like, if you, like, I'm going to go through and mark off my next, you know, four or six months yeah with my cycle. And then as I'm scheduling ahead and then I'm like, oh yeah, I don't want to do that. Remember it's every 28 days. So people constantly go like, oh, we're on the 15th of the month. and it's like, no, that's not actually it. Yeah. we can't plan it month to month. yeah Um, because, you know, because we decided to get rid of the 13th month and make all the days wonky so that we actually felt all weird and off balance. Thank you men. Um, now it's we don't know that time what we're in without a calendar. Women didn't need a calendar before to actually do that. It was like, I know where I'm headed, where I'm going, but we feel really off balance because we don't even know we're not even in the right month. Usually.
01:04:40
Speaker
Right. I think most women, maybe not now, but like for years, i just like mentally tracked it because my cycle was really consistent. And then a couple of years ago, my hormones got all wonky. And then, you know, I was like bleeding a couple of times a month and I was like, okay. So then I started tracking my cycle. So, cause I was working with my doctor and she's like, we need to know where you're at. And then, um, so I think that would probably be be a really great place to start. If you're not tracking your cycle already, it's just download a free cycle app, like the flow app. Mine's called something different, but it, you know, there's a lot out there and just start tracking your cycle for like three or four months and kind of get a good feel with where you're at.
01:05:22
Speaker
And, you know, cause it's like every 28 days, some women's cycle every 30, 31 days can be a little bit variable, And you can go into those apps. Like my daughter has the flow app and it will go in and you can, it'll like send her messages if she wants. So it's like, you know, remember don't book important stuff this week or remember this is coming up, you know? but there's some really advanced technology of that can help at least if you can't have it on your calendar, you're, you know, you've got this little bubble up there reminding you like where you're at.
01:05:55
Speaker
What's cool about the flow app, what I love about it is that you can get in there and mark your symptoms like every single day if you want. And then the app learns you really well. And so it can keep reminding you of those things. I've, I feel like the flow app has been life-changing for me. I think I've had it for about five years now and I've really, really loved it. Yeah. Yeah.
01:06:17
Speaker
honey I know. I love it. It's so cool that we have that. I would go to the doctor and be like, they'd be like, when was the date of your last menstrual cycle? And you're like, I don't know, a few weeks ago. I don't know. Right. And I go with my daughter who is who introduced me to the flow app. And she's just like, it was such and such date. And I'm like, love this.
01:06:40
Speaker
And I felt like this. Yeah. I was bloated and breaking up. Yeah.
Future Conversations on Cycle Awareness
01:06:46
Speaker
ah yeah Oh my gosh. Dang. Yeah.
01:06:52
Speaker
So helpful. Such a great conversation. There's so much to like, think about now. no And that's what I, in my class, when I taught this in my med spa mentor mastermind, I said, please don't just take this. Like, I want you to absorb it.
01:07:08
Speaker
um But if anybody wants a copy of this to your people, um if they call in and, or text in and say they want, I'm happy to share this um because I want people to like do something with it.
01:07:21
Speaker
Like really take control. Like it's the first thing you can do to take control. You're thinking about like, how do I get more clients? You're thinking, how do i what treatments should I do? What services should I offer? How do i make more so retail sales?
01:07:37
Speaker
Well, this is like a first step. You're skipping steps that aren't setting you up for success. And so you can take the best retail sales masterclass, but if you're trying to sell during your menstrual phase, you're going to be mad at yourself because you're not going to be making as many sales. And then you're going to be like, that class didn't work for me.
01:07:57
Speaker
And so start at the beginning. And I didn't know that until like recently, you know, you know, it is true. Like we have, we have this power within us and we, and it comes back to just like you and you and where you're at and like reading your body and being honest with yourself. And, and so, um man, it's really, really powerful. It's foundational. And I think it, it helps in all aspects, right? It's not like personal, professional, spiritual, physical, all of the things. And then they all help each other when we can just understand ourselves a little bit better and then use that to our advantage.
01:08:35
Speaker
Yes. Oh, it's a great time to be a woman. It really is. Yeah. I'm wondering if maybe we just created a a really simple PDF and I can put it in my Dropbox and we can just put it in the show notes. And then anyone who wants it can just get it from that link. and That would actually be a really easy thing to do. And then it wouldn't have to be this whole thing. We can just create like a really simple PDF guideline ye or in chat GPT can do it.
01:09:08
Speaker
Yeah, absolutely. Your AI notes that are listening right now create it for you. And it will be... it'll be even better. Yeah. Yeah. So I can totally do that with your permission. Absolutely. Like simplify it and okay. Yep. Yep. So we'll do that. So generous. Yeah. We'll, we'll create something really simple and I'll just put a link in the show notes so that everybody can have a guideline and im start, yeah, really implementing this into, into their lives and and their careers. So powerful.
Med Spa Mentor App and Event Promotion
01:09:41
Speaker
Yeah. And maybe we can revisit or well you guys can revisit in a few months and be like, I want to know like who did it. i want to know if it's like life changing. Yes. We're going circle back yeah for sure. Cause I think this is a conversation that will grow on itself for, for sure. i mean, it's just not a one-time conversation at all, especially, um I think it's just so important to keep these types of conversations open, yeah you know, and just, um,
01:10:11
Speaker
allow women the space to know that like, as things come up for them or as they're understanding more that like, you know, it is so healthy and beneficial to like bounce it off your peers or your friends or your, your people. Right. Just kind of like we talked about in the beginning.
01:10:27
Speaker
Yes. So good. Oh God. Is there anything else, Marty, that you would, that you want to add or feel like we didn't, didn't touch on? I think we covered it all.
01:10:39
Speaker
I mean, We covered it. Can you, can you, while we're still here, tell us about, um, the med spa mentor app a little bit. sure So the med spa mentor app is downloadable audio lessons, or you can just listen to them. Um,
01:10:59
Speaker
And it's, I mean, everything from business, busy, like histology of skin treatments right now, there's over a hundred lessons in the app. They're 30 minutes or less. I designed them. So you could just listen in the car from one destination to the next, or while you were in your treatment room, just things that were, um scientific and researched. And then some of my opinion and experience in there, the way that I do things. Um,
01:11:28
Speaker
And things I feel really strongly about and putting things together, like, you know, you might learn about this in one hand and this in another hand, but how do they go together? And so every time I get a question, i was writing it down for the last few years. Like I would get a question, i would make note of it.
01:11:46
Speaker
And then I went back and those are how I made lessons. I was like, this is what people want, have questions about. And so, um and then there's downloadable notes. So I did everything for you. You can, you just go, you listen. There's a community in there, like a full like Facebook type community, but it's inside the Kajabi app.
01:12:05
Speaker
And um we just have a great time in there and people learn a lot. Anytime you take a class for me, you get access to that app to like the class you took where you have all of your you know, you're, there's just a menu of supplies and like, just so you can interact with the other people that were in your class. If you have questions, because what I'm trying to create Like, you know, in a lot of rooms, we can be the expert in the room, but I want to create, there's all of these women. They they're so smart. They're so capable. So I want the community where they can have these conversations. And it's not just always me answering the questions because I'm learning, even in the mastermind that I took that you guys did.
01:12:50
Speaker
um I learned so much from the other women in the mastermind. Mm. And so not only from you guys, but them that I was like, Ooh, I'm going to implement that. I like that idea.
01:13:01
Speaker
Um, and so I think it's empowering when, especially people that might be newer or they're really introverted, they're scared, when they come up with an idea and people are like, yeah, that was a great, that's great. And so I'm trying to create this community where people feel comfortable to talk instead of being attacked on social media. When you, when you had different opinion with the way that you would do a treatment for someone, it's more of like a,
01:13:29
Speaker
Well, why would you do it that way? i can't wait to learn why, you know, why you are. And then sometimes we talk, we go, and you know, that person that was so sit in their ways is like, oh, well actually maybe that isn't the correct way, but nobody's shaming anybody.
01:13:46
Speaker
It's a very safe community. Yes. And so it's learning, it's community. um It's $39 a month and you have access to those lessons whenever you want. And I i record new lessons all the time. so So for somebody that like is brand new, just joining the app, is there a like chronological order? Can you like move around? You can move around. So they're in, they're in, um,
01:14:12
Speaker
They're in sections. Okay. So you can kind of go through, like if you're looking for business or, um anatomy, or if you're looking for services or just micro needling, and sometimes, you know, it might be in the services one, but also in the micro needling. So we try to be like, think about how would people find these lessons that they really want to do lots of stuff on skin, pH, chemical peels, product, um, ingredients, my favorite ingredients, and then breaking things down. um
01:14:42
Speaker
I mean, you name it, it is in there. And I have a list like every day. I'm like, Ooh, write that in my notes app because I'm making a lesson out of that. Like,
01:14:53
Speaker
I love it. It's the best. It's really important. You know, people, estheticians, you come out of school and then they're like, holy cow, what do I do now? Right. There's such a need for continuing education. And what I love about the MedSpa Mentor app is how easy it is. It's like quick. It's easy. You're such a great educator. It's really easy to And you know, you're not sitting through a four hour class, like I'm sorry, but skincare can be super boring too. And so I love like the quick lessons and the energy that you bring to it. And it really is so needed in the industry for sure, but you can never be educated enough and things are ah always changing. yeah, I love this so much. In fact, I'm going to be downloading that today. I keep, it's like once a week. I'm like, don't forget. It's all yeah like on my list over here, but you know, Eminence is releasing, um, Tiff, I think you should be getting your samples here pretty soon, but yeah we're going pretty medical support type products right now. And I'm like, okay, I haven't visited this in a while. And so I'm getting ready to dive into my education. And I feel like very excited to dive into your app now and do some that deeper education that I haven't had in a while.
01:16:19
Speaker
Well, I love that. And that's kind of like this, you know, the event it's like medical meets like relaxing energy work. Yeah.
01:16:31
Speaker
like Like, you know, i love it. The beautiful blend. Yeah. It's where our industry is going. won't start talking about it right now because I won't stop, but it's it's very, very true. It makes me, I didn't know that about the event. And now I am just like 10 times more excited that that really is kind of the energy behind it. It's the blending of both the worlds together. And there there definitely is a place, like that's where the industry is going. So you're either going to jump on the the bandwagon or you're going to continue to feel lost within it. So that event is going to be really, really cool.
01:17:05
Speaker
Yeah. And I just want to highlight that now that we're back to the event too, like Boise, c Idaho is so easy to fly into. So for any of our listeners who you know, are feeling called to be like, man, I wish I could be there. Freaking book a ticket and come. I think back to my early days, like I flew all the way to Los Angeles, California for a micro needling class, like, a you know, one day micro needling class. And so, and that's far from Idaho. So like, you know, even if you're not in Idaho, you, this is your permission to come to the event and to you know, come meet.
01:17:43
Speaker
These people that you're listening to we'd love have you. We have had, we've sold some tickets from Texas and New Mexico and Arizona. Cool. So people are coming. It's at the Riverside Hotel and that was intentional. So it was like one-stop shop. I didn't want people to have to like worry about where am I going to Like it's all there.
01:18:02
Speaker
Yeah. it' did you You've designed it very intentionally to make it as easy as possible for people to get to. Before I forget, tell us how our listeners can access your app.
01:18:14
Speaker
um If you just go to the med spa mentor app.com, you can download it. You can find stuff about the event. You can download the app right there. It's easy. And that's that. Perfect. You'll have instant access.
01:18:30
Speaker
And then tell our listeners where they can connect with you personally. So connect with me on IG. That's, that's where I'm at most of the time. And that is Med Spa Mentor Academy.
01:18:41
Speaker
um i own Aesthetics Academy of Idaho plus the Med Spa Mentor. And, you know, I trademarked
Rebranding to Med Spa Mentor Academy
01:18:48
Speaker
Med Spa Mentor. So I'm really trying to kind of rebrand a real slow to the Med Spa Mentor Academy um without losing my audience from Aesthetics Academy of Idaho.
01:18:59
Speaker
But yeah. Yeah. I like that though. Yeah. yeah It's going to, it's going to work this year because it's my year. Well, and you are the med spa mentor, like that's your brand. That's you it's trademarked. It makes sense. You know, that's who you're known for. Yes. I know.
01:19:20
Speaker
Yeah. Yeah. Thank you guys. you are so up like Thank you. Thank you you so much. That was so valuable.
