Holiday Confusion: Memorial vs. Labor Day

00:00:05
Speaker
Well, hello and welcome to another episode of Twisted Tales. This is Faith. This is Lisa. And we are coming to you from a very rainy memorial. Is it Memorial Memorial Day? It's Labor Day weekend. Is it Labor or Memorial? Labor. How sure are you? I thought Labor was in September. We are in September. And I wonder why you couldn't get the right state.

Geographical Humor: Skipping South Dakota

00:00:26
Speaker
Yeah, I'm on the wrong state again. I skipped South Dakota. I'll get you up next time.
00:00:32
Speaker
You know, I'm not very good with the amount that you make fun of me. Yeah, but you don't ever really, really keep my mouth shut. I'm just going to I'm going to go. And I don't. You don't ask for resumes. I do. That's not my fault. That's true. That's on you. So if you want to send a resume to be, no, I can't get rid of it. I don't even know how to upload any of this. I just talk.

Technical Duties Banter

00:00:52
Speaker
Yeah, I've kept her completely in the dark, so I'm essential. I'm essential. All right. Are you ready? Oh, no, but OK. Rock, paper, scissors, shoot. Rock, paper, scissors, shoot. Rock, rock.

Rock, Paper, Scissors Antics

00:01:05
Speaker
You stopped to celebrate. And then I started going. And then I stopped because you're still excited that you won. And then you're like, rock, rock. Because you kept doing weird things in your hands. No. OK. OK. One, two, three. Rock, paper, scissors, shoot.
00:01:20
Speaker
Dang it. Rock, paper, scissors, shoot. Yes. Dang it. Faith again. I've lost twice now. I thought you had me down to a T. I did. And I forgot because we had to go so long without rock, paper, scissors because we don't trust the other one not to cheat when we're not together. That's true. All right. Well, we even tried it with Frankie once and I said that Frankie was a cheater, too. So we had to record that one because you were too busy staring at people playing

Libations on the Beach

00:01:43
Speaker
volleyball and having your first libation of the week to function. Libation.
00:01:48
Speaker
That was a $5 word, Faith. Well done. I like the word libation. Sounds better than I'm a booze bag. Anybody's a booze bag when they're sitting in front of a beach with nothing else to do on a Wednesday night? Avoiding family commitment. No. Yes. They did follow you outside, so it wasn't a good following.
00:02:12
Speaker
But anyways, all right. Well, this is fate.

Introduction to the Texas Tale

00:02:15
Speaker
I'm going to tell my story about Texas. And apparently I can't do the alphabet as we've discussed before. So I gave South Dakota. It sounds whatever it's, you know, it's a state in the United States. Shut it. Well, last week's story for me, my my two tells I gave were absolutely horrific. They were pretty gut wrenching. I didn't like that. And they had no resolution.
00:02:40
Speaker
This week, I tried to go a little lighter and I have resolutions.

Avoiding People and Watching TV

00:02:45
Speaker
So I'm going to try and make up for last week. So in Texas, we are going to the small county in the city of Hawkins, Texas, and we're going to be in the 1980s as usual. Not Hawkins, like Stranger Things. Never seen it, so don't know. I just threw out a reference because I can. OK. Yay, you watch a lot of TV.
00:03:05
Speaker
What else am I going to do? I don't know. It's my goal in life. Watch TV and get fat. That's I'm cool. I'm fine with that. Avoid people at all costs in a nutshell. All right.

The Crimes of Jerry McFadden

00:03:16
Speaker
Tonight I'm less likely to be murdered. I'm just I'm just OK. Sorry. I'm not sure your family can get real sick of you real quick.
00:03:23
Speaker
I'm sorry. What was the sweet meat you were gonna eat a Frankie first the part of the hand? We just aired it all right, I know that that's all right. No, you're not gonna do that It's just a tender part of the hand and if I wasn't gonna be a cannibal I said that'd be the part I want to eat I'm not a cannibal though So let's just move on
00:03:45
Speaker
So just so we're clear, he murders me. And there's a hunk of his thumb meat missing. She's going to eat my thumb meat first. Introduction of my husband Frankie we hear so much about. He's avoiding family obligations by pretending to be interested in our podcast that he's never listened to. I don't think he's pretending to be interested, I think.
00:04:04
Speaker
He needs to know what we do for an hour and a half every other day. He just cut out half of our conversation because we can't talk about it with his name. Well, no, he's doing this because he's we made comments about how it was there were things said in one of our podcasts. All right, go ahead. We're in not South Dakota. We're in Texas. And I'm going to tell you about Jerry Walter McFadden. Who just to give you a preview of what kind of guy is, he gave himself a nickname.
00:04:37
Speaker
because he didn't have friends to nickname him. He gave himself a nickname. And he I guess. Yes, you can guess. What do you think he gave himself as a nickname? Thumbs Magoo. No. I have a big penis. You're no. OK. The friendliest clown. No, I'm just going to tell you now because you're bad at this. I'm pretty terrible. He gave himself the nickname of the animal.
00:05:03
Speaker
All's close. Not at all. Shut up. And all right. I'm just going to let you know with Frankie here, apparently Lisa has stepped up her slap happiness. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. It's just it's a sibling thing. I'm going to say that this episode is probably going to be longer than usual, more interrupting than usual. And I apologize for whatever comes out of both of their mouths. The only reason that I don't interrupt on your other podcasts is you ramble on like I love you.
00:05:31
Speaker
I hate you. No, you have great stories and I like your stories anyway. Please continue. All right. So the animal McFadden is one gigantic piece of crap and he's going to tell you about.
00:05:42
Speaker
He was born in Texas, March 21st, 1948, and he was a big guy, like 5'9", 208 pounds. He was described as stocky, covered in tattoos that said Satan all over his forearms and chest, and had shaggy, bushy, blonde hair and a beard. And he was the kind of guy that when he saw the bar, he positioned yourself like across the room, but he was in your peripherals at least because you wanted to know where he was. Like you didn't want to mess with him.
00:06:10
Speaker
So I need my booth chasing the door. Exactly. Yeah. So he's a little scary. He dropped out of high, not high school. Sorry. He dropped out of school at seventh grade. And by the time he's 18, he's already in jail for burglary. He got out of jail. And two years later, he's being charged with destruction of property. So let's just set a precedent that jail means nothing to him and he's not going to learn a lesson. All right.
00:06:34
Speaker
By the time he's 19, he's married to a lovely, sweet 15-year-old girl. Yeah, they usually are at that age. Very conforming. Yeah. I don't know why any 15-year-old girl's parents are going to sign off for her to marry him, but they do. What year are we in? We're in the 80s, like late 70s, early 80s right now. I actually, never mind. What? I know of a guy that we work with in a different country who is in an arranged marriage.
00:07:03
Speaker
And those things do still happen. Yeah, that's fine. No, but this isn't a range like he's he's 19. She's 15 and they just got married

Justice System Failures

00:07:12
Speaker
in the United States. Literally don't care. So the parents had to sign off for it for her to get married. So these two have two kids together. But don't worry. In true piece of crap form, he abandons them pretty quickly and leaves them to fend for themselves, which I'm going to go and take a large assumption that say they're glad to be rid of him by the end of our story.
00:07:32
Speaker
More than likely. So in 1972 in Denton, Texas, he pleads guilty to the charge of raping a 14 year old girl. But he is out of prison in 1973. Year later. Nice. That's usually how it works. Where he rapes a middle school teacher in his hometown.
00:07:54
Speaker
and ends up getting sentenced 15 years in jail for the combination of the two rapes. So I couldn't find a lot of information. But what I'm assuming is he raped the 15, the 14 year old girl and he went to prison and they probably let him out for good behavior or whatever. And he was on probation when he turned around, got out and immediately raped someone else violation of probation. So anyway, what did he get an extra day? He got 15 years. OK.
00:08:20
Speaker
So in 1978, only five years later, he's let out of prison again on parole. Oh, let me guess. It was good behavior. We got to keep those weed smokers. You know, you would assume at this point would be a good a good section in his life to say, you know what?
00:08:41
Speaker
I need to turn my life around. I've been in prison, in and out of prison, how many times? I've been busted for everything. But like where was his consequence? But that's the other thing is how do you expect him to stop? You raped a 14 year old girl and a middle school teacher and you were out in five years. Yeah, that's a piss hole in a snow bank. So what does the animal do? He immediately kidnapped a shackle ford secretary who's 18 years old.
00:09:06
Speaker
And he drives around to three different counties, holding her hostage as he robs and burglarizes different homes in all these counties. And when he gets bored, he just pulls over and rapes her and sodomizes her for three solid days.
00:09:23
Speaker
Um, repeatedly, luckily he was arrested for this. And what he did to this, this girl, I could not find her name, but the little 18 year old that he raped and sodomized was so horrific. And so like, it was so beyond everything else that when they charged him, they didn't even bring up the six other charges they had against him for burglary kidnapping. It was.
00:09:48
Speaker
Like the trauma to her and what was done to her was so bad. That's all they charged him for because that's all they needed to charge him for. So and I still like I feel like those minor charges should have gone somewhere. It'll keep them in jail a little bit longer for each felony case or you would think last year, see whatever you would think. So in 1979, this case goes to trial and he is once again sentenced for 15 years.
00:10:14
Speaker
due to aggravated sexual assault. So that's his charge. He's guilty. So 15 years after brutally with what you described. Yeah. Brutally attacking an 18 year old. Yeah. For 15 years. Driving around just raping and sodomizing her. OK. So 15 more years. So this time you'd hope the system would learn in Texas that you know.
00:10:34
Speaker
lock him up, throw away the key, keep him in there the whole 15 years. There's not going to be rehabilitation for him. Like I get a lot of countries besides the United States. That's their goal with prison is to rehabilitate. There is no rehabilitating the animal. He's an animal. Like just anyways, but to think that Texas alone
