Critique of Fox's X-Men and Multiverse Hopes

00:00:00
Speaker
So praise critiques. My biggest critique is that I feel like they wrapped up the hanging Fox movies really well. and I was really satisfied with that, except the X-Men. And the X-Men is all I want. But honestly, he had such a great way of dealing with the multiverse there. I think that like, I think that acknowledgments that they exist in the multiverse is still at least something. Sure. You know, I'm glad someone said like some sleuths said that when they're showing like the like Earth's whatever went Deadpool is going with like trying to find Wolverine. Apparently, the one that him
00:00:42
Speaker
and Logan and like X-23, all of them, one the one the the one that they are inhabiting at the end of the movie is the same one that um Oh my gosh, Photon got dropped into in the Marvels, which is like with Beast, it's like the same in the Marvels. The most kind of scene where Monica gets like thrown into like a world with like the

Introducing X-Men in Marvel's Multiverse

00:01:06
Speaker
X-Men involved. So like they're, it's, they're in the same world. So I think they're trying to like build up the, that I mean, we're literally being edged into their debut screen in Secret Wars.
00:01:17
Speaker
And we've been looking for the X-Men. I remember when WandaVision came out and we were like, this is one, this is, and they had the Quicksilver cameo and we're like, this is it, they're doing it. And then they were in fact doing it. No, they really didn't. But it was actually Agatha all along. It was, and fucking A if I'm not, like speaking of edging, but we'll get there in a little bit. Yeah, I guess I feel that. What did you

Humor in Marvel's Loki and Viewing Challenges

00:01:47
Speaker
say? I said, but we won't come when we do.
00:01:49
Speaker
um
00:01:53
Speaker
Hunter. Coming down from a pretty. Hunter B-13 is the um black woman that is into a pee pool, Peter Pool. She's a TVA agent that's in low key. You started saying who's in into pee and I wasn't sure where that was going. And I was like, I don't, I definitely don't remember that part, that less than and then credit scene. I didn't stay for her, but cool. Yeah, she is from low key. She's TVA agent.
00:02:27
Speaker
Another one you didn't see? I've not seen Loki. I don't like how smug you are about it, Shauna. I haven't seen Loki. Fuck yourself. Okay, fine. So what else, what a quick detour. What else have you not seen? Name Marvel movies from the last 10 years. Black Widow. Ding. Okay, ding as in you have not seen it? I mean, I feel like a lot of people skipped it unfairly. um and Like most of this phase, Eternals. Black Panther.
00:03:01
Speaker
black panther Seen it. Didn't see the second one though. So most of this recent phase. Haven't seen the Marvels. Because I wanted to see.

Marvel for Families: Kid-Friendly Heroes

00:03:14
Speaker
That's the best fight sequences that we've seen. I mean, Deadpool has some great ones. I want to see the Kamala Khan show, which I also have. Ms. Marvel is incredible. I know. And that's just it's like it's not a like I know these are like, well, I just did it like it was like I just. didn I am very bad, especially at catching movies, but I think it's like one part polyamory because, you know, I live with my two partners and trying to figure out a time to see where you can all go or who goes or like movies are one of the things that tend to get skipped, especially like, you know, we have, we have a kid who is, you know, grades, young grade school. So Marvel movies are still out of his realm. Like, like, I think he's close to
00:04:00
Speaker
and'm trying I was literally trying to think like what the most kid-friendly superhero movie is because he loves superhero-y things. but you should so You should start watching Ms. Marvel together. It's like definitely geared more towards kids, but like even the there's like sort of graphics in it, like animation in it. there's like mix Yeah. I'm on the list of things that I'm like, I know I should just sit down and watch, but yeah. like But there's like other, I haven't seen, let's see what, like what. Moon girl and devil dinosaur. I think I'm the only one that has watched that. No, I watched that with my child. Okay. No, that's one that I've seen that see it's funny because I'm like, Oh no, the kid's one that I've seen. This is how you know, I'm a mom is the like, yeah, I know.
00:04:50
Speaker
I Spidey and his amazing friends, which i is the cutest show. And it's so funny to me, like as is a little speaking of ADHD detours, because when we're watching things and he thinks that Dr. Octopus in his like, you know, more rotund looking form, you know, and masculine form, he's like, that's not the real Dr. Octopus. Dr. Octopus has a fucking alternative lifestyle haircut side shave and like is a girl. He doesn't say those things, but that's what I'm thinking. He's like, that momy as' an alterate yeah, I was like, yeah, that, yeah. No, but like, that but it's so funny the way, but like he loves like the show with, you know, ah ghost spider. Cause she's not spider Gwen and in, which is the name that the nickname miles morale spider man goes with and then Spidey. Yeah. So like spin is his favorite because he's the creative one.

Action Scenes and Casting Debates

00:05:47
Speaker
And he was like,
00:05:49
Speaker
there and he's got cool powers like with his electricity and yeah yeah like ooh there's a whole conversation to also have the one nevermind nope nope nope cutting it off at i'm i'm pruning that i'm pruning that detour um other critiques other critiques praise things that you wanted but did not get Honestly, I would say that I'm glad that we got the fight scene at the end with like Electra, Blade, Gambit, and X-23 because I was really on the edge of my seat of like, are they really about to give us like X-Force going into battle part two and they all die before we even see anything? Like there's no fucking way. Oh God, I forgot about the X-Force going into battle and how excited it was for X-Force because like, They killed up some like really big name like I'm trying to think who was in it because I haven't seen it in a minute, but like I love that. It was like Shatterstar. Shatterstar, yes. Speaking of K-pop. Red man who paid the invisible person. The one that was spit acid or vomit acid. Domino, which I mean she obviously lived and then Peter who also died, poor guy.
00:06:59
Speaker
But then he brings him back to life. So great. Yeah. I, I'm so grateful that they let them, and I, I hadn't considered the whole X-Force kill them off thing because they kept emphasizing this idea of like, we'll get our, we'll get our ending, we'll get our ending. And it actually took me a second to understand like that they were being kind of literal. And like when we were watching it the first time, I like said to Uxio, I was like, oh my God, I just got it. They're like literally ending these please franchises that were left hanging.
00:07:34
Speaker
and Those stories. Yeah. God. Yeah. that's When I, when I realized that I was, I was like, yeah, they're not, they're definitely going to give these folks a proper whoop ass send off. Can we quickly talk about the gambit of it all? I still don't know. I still don't know how I feel like what about it what is about my giit yeah i like you was casting call back then. Correct. class Correct. I was right.
00:08:05
Speaker
crash me Kudos to me. Pash Shanna knew what she was talking about because... Correct. No, same. I never i we never saw I Yes! Yeah. And it's just not Channing Tatum. Channing Tatum is more colossus than he is Gambo. Correct. I feel like the guy that we... feel like the guy that played Gambit in Wolverine Origins was more Gambit, and that man was very, like, not as lively as Gambit. He was way more Gambit-esque.
00:08:39
Speaker
yeah Yeah. Um, yeah. Glive is a great way. Like the way that they depict him, he's like slender and I mean, obviously blah, blah, blah. Like they're fake characters. They can look like whatever, but like the things about him that I think are more about his character. are like, you know, he's stealth, he's sneaky. His Genesee qua, like yeah like big ass Channing Tatum is known for breakdancing. And like, unfortunately, we've all heard Channing Tatum talk. And it's very dumb sounding. And there's that Cajun accent, that Creole accent was just
00:09:22
Speaker
I was like, no Channing Tatum, stop doing that. I'm pretty sure they told him to go over the top with that because like and the humor of it all. Like if it's like, listen man, you didn't get your actual movie, but like, cause I'm pretty sure like that costume he was wearing was a costume that I almost ordered when we did our gambit for Halloween last year. Like I've seen that on like a cosplay shop and it's like, that is so fucking funny that you just sort of like, let's do it stupid. it looked there were I mean obviously the Wolverine mask looked CGI at times and I struggle sometimes with like even Deadpool's mask where I'm like how's your eyes doing that but
00:10:03
Speaker
there I was like it looked again um training tatum was just walking around wearing like green screen material like it did not look like it was actually a costume no I thought it was more like the like Michael Keaton cowl where he like could not move because it was just like and into whatever like this so he was just like this the whole time it looked although I guess you know that is a reminder that like there was a reason that they went with Black Leather in the first X-Men movie because selling that costume is hard. yeah They still need to do it right. No, like it's it's a difficult look to pull off, and I think that they've gotten so good about getting these kind of comic-feeling costumes while still feeling real-worldy.

Future Marvel Narratives and Multiverse Excitement

00:10:52
Speaker
Para-military.
00:10:54
Speaker
yeah Exactly. Like, they know what they're doing, you know, for better or worse, militias exist. And so, you know, what there's a blueprint to like, it like, found family militia. So, um I guess, hopes for the future. What? What? How did the ending sit with you? Hopeful. Like, the MCU is back. I guess in a sense. It just made me happy that like they they got their heads on straight and they like started making smart choices. They got people who are actually knowledgeable about source material involved. like the like This is, if anything, a big payoff in showing like why you should include writers or contributors that like help create these stories to begin with because there's nothing better there's no better material than the actual source material. So I'm glad that they actually got people involved that
00:11:51
Speaker
are very familiar with it. So it gives me hope that and then like with, you know, San Diego Comic Con that really just happened and like knowing that i'm right. Like, I wanted to bring that off. Like, yeah, like the rooster by this coming back, like they made two incredible Marvel films. And for them, to out put up the next like that makes me very happy, especially because Secret Wars is like all they've ever wanted. Like they it that like said, they said if they ever came back, it would only be for that story, because that was their favorite growing up and reading it. Like they've read it,
00:12:23
Speaker
millions of times, it's like their favorite story arc. So to know that, again, people involved and know the source material are involved in this, it just makes me hopeful and happy that they didn't take a hard left turn, right turn, whatever turn, and it's, you know. We were big fans of going against a hard right turn. Like, no way. Right. I don't know how you feel about that. Captain Marvel, I did see that one though. Great. So go for me. What are your thoughts on the effort? So I agree. like I think it was a nice, it feels like a chapter closing. And I think it was opening of the door. like Obviously we're getting the Fantastic Four, which I'm looking forward to. And I think it's funny because I think the Fantastic Four and the X-Men are so, like i I was trying to think of why I always
00:13:15
Speaker
gravitated more towards the X-Men than the Fantastic Four, because they're both family and like... I was like, oh yeah, one's pretty queer and the other's pretty not. One is your family of origin and the other is your family of choice. Like, there's people in your family of origin that you like, but guess who I'm spending Thanksgiving with? Yeah. Guess who guess who doesn't make me feel like constantly at risk? Sousa or a Nazi store? Yeah, but at the end of the day, like, Well, yeah, because they keep inviting their, you know, uncle Victor, who is just going to spout off on weird like, like, you know.
00:13:56
Speaker
So I think I am optimistic as well. um I'm very curious. I wonder if we're just going to sort of like leave that there and then. like pick it back up again in Secret Wars if there's just, are so there's Agathol along, are there any other um projects? What other projects are coming out? um Yeah, Thunderbolts and they're also doing the next Captain America with Sam Wilson. I was going to say, is that the one with Harrison Ford as Red Hulk? Yeah.
00:14:29
Speaker
and agree they've seen mine to them um theystein yeah Yeah. And like then again, going back to like them taking note, I mean, they did read like they had it finished. They did a screening of it. It did not do well. They took the critique and they went back for reshoots and that's why they got delayed again. But they did more reshoots even recently. um So like they're really trying hard to like get shit to be. You're hoping they did a bunch of reshoots with multiverse of madness. Yeah, they did a bunch of reshoots with multiverse of madness, which yeah I saw that one, too. Well, that was a multiverse of madness.
00:15:03
Speaker
there was i like carlo much i can't help that I mean, yeah, that is my, that's what makes it so disappointing too. Cause like, that was my bitch and they did her so dirty. god and Well, and honestly, and house of them could be a possibility if they go, they've yeah like, See, but I feel like they I feel like they already do. And like that. Yeah, I was good. So what are your thoughts on that? Like, because my first read was positive that I was like, oh, same. So like I'm a big fan of like the DC, like the the Arrowverse. And so there's one actor who plays like a different role every season.
00:15:40
Speaker
And like, he's the reverse flash, Tom Cavanaugh. He's the like, he's the reverse flash one season. He's a different scientist the next. And he's the third character the next season. And I appreciate giving an actor an opportunity to play different roles. Like, so like, I thought that's what they were doing. Not necessarily it's Dr. Doom is Tony Stark as much as Robert Downey Jr. is like, is Victor run victor Von Doom. And I think it's a how I'll feel about it will depend on how they answer that. And I think both are valid. like I know there's a comic book legitimacy for doing it that way, though I wonder why. Because Victor Von Doom is such a big character. And like why not? And RDJ is not going to stick around for that. No. like Well, there's two different stories that involve both Iron Man and Dr. Doom that intertwine very heavily. There was one iteration where Victor
00:16:33
Speaker
actually like switches bodies with Tony and then erases his mind and then they go both on like living very separate lives so like Victor lives in Tony's body being you know the Playboy billionaire but makes all the same Victor Von Doom choices whereas then there's Tony Stark living in Victor's body but then he's making good choices like Iron Man so they still live the same lives as they were meant to and so then like the comic book comes to a conclusion with them donning the outfits that each So like Tony playing Victor still wears the Victor Von Doom costume, but in the like the shades of Iron Man. Yeah, and vice versa. And there's another storyline, infamous Iron Man, whereas Tony actually doesn't make great choices, but he still goes to like put the armor around the world and he takes a more like
00:17:18
Speaker
dark sinister twist. so I'm interested to see how they're going to play that in. but like like I love the idea of him playing a bad guy. like I think that's cool. My first instinct was like, yeah, let him be, you know what? like This guy was clearly like the, he was the heart of that of the Marvel semantic universe for the longest time and now letting him play a villain is kind of a cool thing. because like But- I think I like the idea of evil Tony Stark more than I like the idea of tony beater R.D.J. being Victor Von Doom. There were obviously a couple of very um relevant critiques that Victor Von Doom is notoriously Romani, and they brought up the other characters who have also been sort of whitewashed, like Wanda and Pietro. like
00:18:08
Speaker
They clearly are just not going anywhere near that kind of, like that is not, which in again is a decision. It's a choice. crique yeah and yeah it's It's a choice. I don't think it's the right one um to just sort of whitewash them. I think ah a way that it could go that would make, that could sort of remedy that is if this If Tony Von Doom, if Stark adds Dr. Doom, turns evil, creates Battleworld or whatever, like if he is the Doom that is responsible for secret wars,

Speculation on Marvel's Reset and Upcoming Projects

00:18:53
Speaker
to the Second Secret Wars when you know he's married. In the more contemporary Secret Wars, ah Victor Von Doom recreates. He basically House of M's and makes the Wonder Woman, or not Wonder Woman, I'm sorry, Invisible Woman, his wife, and like reshapes everything. I think that's like Storm is in the Thor core in that. like It's basically just an alt universe. yeah that I think would also be kind of cool. Like, you know, we know that they're bringing in the Fantastic Four. What if they, you know, sort of bring those things together into this like mishmash world of Battleworld or whatever? um I don't remember. the Especially she with the Fantastic Four being set in a more past setting, like the 60s, whatever. I could see that being where they accidentally create a
00:19:49
Speaker
alternate timeline and screw up the 616 universe so Tony Stark doesn't become Iron Man, he becomes Doctor Doom.
00:19:59
Speaker
or what if actually, I mean, there's so many different ways it could spin it because like in the comics, like we already know that there's an incursion happening elsewhere or that incursions have already started. And so like in the comic books, the lore is like once one starts, it's a domino effect and they continue to like incur like incursions keep happening. You can't really stop it until finally that's how we got to Battleworld. So like I feel like what they're and they've already I feel like they've teased where everything is going to end up when we do get to like actual secret wars. I feel like they're all going to end up in the void. Like when everything gets like, yeah, like they're going to end up there where everything starts to like smish, mash together. And then once they fix it, that's when we get like the new reset and everything. But I mean, yeah, they can go. Yeah.
00:20:43
Speaker
yeah I hope that so I would love it if Elizabeth Olsen was actually married to Robert Downey Jr. as Victor Von Doom. And that's how they brought her back. And then you get the whole, you can still include the Young Avengers, have the whole ah like House of M storyline or the net na das of and the Children's Crusade storyline. Like if we actually do get the Young Avengers, cause we still have D23 coming up and they can still announce, you know, TV shows, smaller films, special presentations. Right. So, I feel like the Agatha All Along is going to be this like sort of pseudo children's crusade mixed with the Scarlet Witch one-off. This isn't, there isn't, is it Hulkling that's in it? Is that what, because there's someone who's in it or Wiccan, thank you. I was like, I was like, wait, there's someone that's in it that's from like the Young Avengers. It seems like the whole premise of Agatha All Along is
00:21:39
Speaker
ah Wiccan goes with her on the witch's road to get her powers back and uses that as an opportunity to bring Wanda back. Which, if we recall, we did see that giant Scarlet Witch bust in the void, like it was a part of the headquarters that the Fox Universe leftovers were in. so Also, I can see the other, the Ant-Man sequels. Why is there a giant Ant-Man suit? I don't know. Is that Scott Lang or is that maybe an old, why wasn't sure? Maybe it was an alternate universe. I think it's just supposed to be. The guy, Hank Pym, who they'll never show because he's a wife theater. So like, he's like. Yeah. Well, no, the Hank Pym is fully in. Is he like? Yeah. Oh, nevermind. Yeah.
00:22:30
Speaker
I think that he's never an Iron Man, or he's never an Iron Man. Because they bring in Janet. they They bring in Janet, don't they? Yeah. They do know that. It's Michelle Pfeiffer. And it's a Michelle fucking Pfeiffer, that bitch. Like one of my favorite white women of all time.

Reviews, Favorite Characters, and Gotham TV

00:22:48
Speaker
OK, so let's kind of wrap wrap up ah the so film discussion before we take a couple of questions from the internet. um Overall ranking on an A to F academic scale. Ooxie, what's your overall ranking? I would give it an A minus. And who was the hottest? Who? Who? I don't know. I mean,
00:23:22
Speaker
Henry, I mean, he could fucking punch me in. Oh, Henry, Henry, Henry Cavill is Wolverine. Yes. Like, please punch me on any side you want with that. Like, yeah please throw me into the next room. And it was like 10 seconds, not even. and Yeah. Shauna ranking and who is the hottest? B plus. It is going to, it is passing and not even like ah in risk of it. But I think that there's something that could have brought it to that next level for me that it doesn't quite do. And so that's where I would say it's a B plus for me. And I think my, the hottest, honestly, Jennifer Garner, I Jennifer Garner and Marina back or it like, I think those two, she is Vanessa. Oh yeah.
00:24:12
Speaker
And cause she is just always, she's the hottest woman in any room she's in. She's in so many nerdy properties. Like, I don't know if I know you two aren't big DC nerds, but the fucking show Gotham is the most fucking batch it like show. Oh my God. i see on seina no and No, no, no, no, no, no, no. She's Gordon's love interest. Wasn't that a kid? No, no, yeah, no, she's like the love interest. And she's just like that show is so weird. It featured a love romance between the Riddler and the Penguin. And it was so weird. And then they broke up in in very acrimonious fashion and became rivals.
00:24:53
Speaker
from being like scorned lovers to rivals and it's so fucking gay and it's 100%. It's so champion gay. Anyways, I love that. I never finished that. Yeah, I never finished that. It just gets weirder and weirder and it it's like... The last season gets very much into like... The last season almost starts getting into like the actual like how Bruce starts getting into like the Batman phase. Yeah. And that's when they got cancelled, I think. Right. They were just like, this is enough. You can't actually be Batman. Yeah, you can actually be Batman. I think I would also give it um a, I think I would give it an A, maybe an A minus. like You're easy graders, you're like... I am, I'm an easy grader.
00:25:42
Speaker
I will 100% own. I'm greedy. I'm a greedy fucking Marvel bottom. I want it all. Like, except for Secret Invasion. I was actually thinking about that when I was walking Toad earlier. like i Every single movie or project in this these past couple phases, there have been a couple of stinkers. But like I've had a good time. like They scratched the itch. And I'm not looking for purity. I'm not looking for you know the nostalgia really helps. But like you know i'm I want it all. i'm an I'm a maximalist. I'll take it all.
00:26:19
Speaker
um And who, I mean, I am not gonna lie, well like Hugh Jackman, especially older Hugh Jackman does it for me. um The fight scenes between him and Deadpool, specifically the one in the car where they're fucking basically, they're but like fight fucking. um That was really hot. It was really hot. Like in a gross way. I love that it was very hot. Wade literally leans back, opens his legs and gives him the come hither finger. Like, are you kidding me? That was hot as fuck. It was gross as fuck. Oh my gosh. Like that's like a Mr. and Mrs. Smith kind of thing. Yes. Oh, Shauna. Well done. Because that fight scene. One of my all time faves.
00:27:10
Speaker
Also, i'll take back to the car fight scene from the first Deadpool movie, that was such the like, it was the iconic, this is what sold the audience. That's what I love that it both started and ended with an iconic car fight scene. I think that's really cool. And also Jennifer Garner. I'm also just Jennifer Garner because she's fucking 13 going on 30. She's like, never saw it. Oh, see that I love 13 going on on 30 is very appropriate. It's just god I would die. Oh my god, bit it like a 13 year old girl on a 28 year old woman. i like figure out like Oh my gosh, I am going through puberty again. Yeah. Right. So, okay, we got some questions um from my Instagram story. We already talked about thoughts on RDJ's Doom and Erasure of Roma Culture, which we have acknowledged for sure-sies. Fuck Mary Kill Wolverine Deadpool Gambit. And in this movie, in this movie, because otherwise we'll get too nerdy and
00:28:20
Speaker
X-Men 97 does not count. Like it is this movie's Wolverine Deadpool gambit. I'll go. Yeah, go. ill i'll Okay. um Fuck Wolverine, marry Deadpool, kill Gambit. Well, see, I would marry Gambit for obvious reasons. This gambit. No, I'm kidding. I definitely. OK, I was like, I was like, I was like, do you really want a life of not being able to understand the person where you're just like, or is it like, yes, honey? Of course. No, I will. I got you. Yeah, you just. had I had to be like, yeah, sugar, it's fine. But also ga just like, oh, you're right. Like his white boy version of gambit. We had kill gambit. um Probably Mary.
00:29:13
Speaker
I have Mary Wade. And then I just fuck Wolverine. Yeah. Shauna. I think it's it's his fuck Wade because I think he's just fun in bed but wouldn't want any sort of a future because It's just, it's good. You know, it's like there's always something going on with him and it's a lot. And it's like, you're going from one crisis to another. He keeps a job though. That's the thing. Nope. Well, but honestly that gets, I think you marry Gambit because at the end of the day, I think he's, you know, he's stable. This Gambit work, i don't get too deep into it. He doesn't work from home. He doesn't have an opera. He doesn't, you know what? You're like so dumb.
00:29:54
Speaker
ah can like But I'm going to kill Wolverine because I do not want to marry the like depressive, like just going to be like moping around drinking all the time. That sucks. So like, that's why he's the killer. So i I am answering your question. Thank you. It's this movie is why yeah not marry Wolverine and kill Wolverine.

X-Men's Future in Marvel and TV Adaptation Dreams

00:30:14
Speaker
So next question, do you think we'll get a farewell to the OG X-Men cast? Oh, yeah. I'm pretty sure that's why they weren't in this one, because I think Feige wants to save that for Secret Wars, which is going to be the true send off of the entirety of the Fox. Girl, would it be surprised if they brought in like if they brought in like Jessica Alba, even if they've already brought back like back that Johnny Storm? like I'm sure they would bring back those characters. Justice for Jessica Alba. Let that bitch have her ending. Yes. So like that's going to be the big send off.
00:30:45
Speaker
I would love if you're right and I think really and truly like I think that makes sense and I would love to see it. But honestly, I think it's in the vault. I don't think it comes. I think that it is they are looking to start a new chapter and that this is the closing of the Foxiverse and it's going to then be a move on and it sucks. But I think it's just the nature of the way that they're going to move to promoting the X-Men I think is the new flagship. Um, I think I am in agreement with Uxmal. I definitely, I think that the response that they get from this movie of that, about the fan service and having the opportunity to bring back these actors who are all still very viable, like, you know, pe cow are, you know, getting older. So we know we don't have too much more time with them. Like it working, you know, obviously hopefully they live a lot longer, but i' go to say it was like use

Someone put Fonca Jansen in a new X-Men fucking zip up number and I'm sold. God, I love that. Let Halle Berry be the bitch that she is. Make Halle Berry great again. I want to see Days of Future Past Halle Berry in Secret Wars because that bitch fought. She took down them sentinels. I'm very excited for who they cast as Storm next. yeah same is really Because at the end of the day, I kind of do think that there's a servant
00:32:24
Speaker
I don't, there's a certain stormness that I think Halle Berry didn't portray on camera at the end of the day. I'm like, so so I always think that. I don't think they've found her yet. No. Well, I'm thinking of the, um, or call back to Buffy and the, the famous Joss Whedon, uh, writing, writing on the script of the first X-Men movie. And well, you don't know this? No, I don't think so. Oh my gosh. okay no Yeah. So Joss Whedon went in and he rewrote, he kind of just did up a bit and made and is known for the one infamous line that Storm gives. Oh my god. What happens when you. Yeah, totally. It's struck by lightning. It's struck by lightning. The same thing that happens to everyone else, everything else. And. That is such a jostling line. Yeah. No, it's say like, but like, if yeah it should have been read like how, frankly, Sarah Michelle Geller would have read it. A very like, matter of fact, glib like, kind of now like like, the same thing that happens to everything else.
00:33:22
Speaker
like zap yeah and like she read it seriously in a way that is so like but if you read it with a joss weeden tone it the line is so much better and yeah because it seems like it's like a little like but like it makes so much more sense that it's like oh if you read it in your best joss weeden voice that's how you know but yeah with theire jerking Yeah, the stage directing. Yeah. But that's where Joss Whedon famously came in and rewrote the script. That line, I still think it's funny, like, ironically with, no you know hallieberys yeah. But I think it goes to show where that kind of missed the mark. And so is what it is.

Last question. um Dream live action movie to put in the MCU, like all like no holds barred. it can be You don't have to worry about the logistics. What story um would you like to see adapted the most? Prestige X-Men TV show. I want a 45 minute, you know, HBO Max style X-Men show with 13 episodes. that is can go through each season's a different story where you can both because I think the biggest problem with having the X-Men be movie characters and not TV characters is the best part of the X-Men is when they're doing nothing and they're just hanging out being themselves
00:34:47

getting to interact. And I think those kinds of stories, those kinds of moments are so much better played in TV than in movies. And I think the X-Men missed something by being a movie franchise and not a TV franchise. so Interesting take. And X-Men 97, I definitely feel like that's very much so what the vibe is. Like we're getting so much more character building and- And honestly, even then, I feel like the X-Men 97 was written in a way that is moving from story to story to story to story. So it even then didn't give that much space to breathe because like for me, the formula is you have to establish, and Buffy is very known for, I think Buffy is the great- Yeah, it builds.
00:35:32

where it establishes the status quo, Buffy moves in, then it does the monster of the week so you know what it's like, and then you change up the elements. Because you have because it doesn't make sense if you just change up the elements and go from big bad to big bad, if you don't have anything to give the changes gravitas along the way. and Game of Thrones famously did this well, where you'd have all the different characters would switch up, so sometimes you get an Arya and Clegane weeks, and now Jaime's with Brienne of Tarth, and X-Men is the same way. I want a Colossus Wolverine week, but I also want Colossus in Jubilee, two characters who I wouldn't think to get along. I want to see an episode where they're fucking around doing something, like going to the mall and Colossus is still being uncomfortable and being gay like this in the Ultimate Universe because like, yeah, but like I want those stories and elements and I think that's when the X-Men are at their best.
00:36:26

o small I think they could use like something like new mutants in a TV show format like that. Like that would be a great, like, I feel like the X-Men are too big and they like, they need the big screen. Whereas like the other teams that are also mutants, they're also like a part of the X-Men in and out and like in vertically, like those would be good ways to kind of build even more of a backstory with like new X-Men or like Excalibur or I mean, X-Force, if you really want to go into it, that could be like a dark, you know, TV MA type show.
00:36:58

um I really like an ex school like yeah, yeah, like brings back your respond saving yeah oh my god bring back gifted nusters Bring back the gifted and fix it. Yeah, I think I mean i was going I think I was going much more, you loved it because of the cuckoo. Yeah, it's like, we got characters, like the show, we got characters. Yeah, like we got more of the characters that we're familiar with like on the page and they actually brought it in like a TV format and it was also same thing, different like kind of thing. So I think that's why even though it kind of sucked so bad, I still tuned into that shit to watch The Gifted every week because it was like the characters that you want to see and like do shit from the day to day time.
00:37:44
Speaker
But I want them to adapt, I hope, like the Cocoan era. And like, oh yes that's what I want. um I was going to say I made out with ah an extra on that show um while we were in college. ah Yeah, I've told you this before because there's something else that he's in that's very relevant that I'll talk about when we stop recording. I want to see AVX. Like, I'm talking about, like, give me... Aliens for X-Men?
00:38:12
Speaker
Um, no, um, animals versus X-Men. Um, I want to see AVX split the Phoenix into the Phoenix five, like give me a fuck. I'll take a limited series. Like it doesn't have to be a movie because that's, you can't do that in a movie format. It's way too long, but, um, I would love to see AVX. Uh, and just especially for the X-Men versus Avengers actual fight team. Anyways.
