Welcome and Festive Introduction

00:00:10
Global Sports Podcast Network
Hello, welcome back to the Daily Palace podcast brought to you as ever by the Global Sports Podcast Network. I'm Joe Lodge. I'll be your host today. And joining me is Dan Tanner. You feeling festive, Dan?
00:00:22
Dan Tanner
Oh, I'm feeling festive now. It's the last couple of days, so everything is now coming to a head. So it's starting to feel like Christmas is only just around the corner.
00:00:31
Global Sports Podcast Network
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas, if you ask me.
00:00:34
Dan Tanner
Oh, don't start singing.
00:00:34
Global Sports Podcast Network
um
00:00:36
Dan Tanner
Please, please don't start.
00:00:37
Global Sports Podcast Network
yeah
00:00:38
Dan Tanner
If Mariah Carey comes on, I'm leaving now.
00:00:41
Global Sports Podcast Network
Hard to tell the difference in audio reform between me and Mariah Carey when I restart, opening up the pipes. ah But yeah, we're we're just ah two unwise men who've had their hopes reignited by the emergence of Asa in recent weeks.

Pre-Match Analysis: Crystal Palace vs Arsenal

00:00:56
Global Sports Podcast Network
Today, we're going to give our final thoughts on Palaces' second game against Arsenal this week and talk about some ownership news before I give Dan a Christmasy quiz.
00:01:13
Global Sports Podcast Network
So the Eagles host Gooners at half five tomorrow to give a bit of team news. Think Arsenal will be without White and Tomoyasu. Latest I've seen Rice and Kelefiori are also doubts, but not confirmed either way. Palace will still be without the long-term absentee, here are Wharton's, Franca's, Maria's.
00:01:39
Global Sports Podcast Network
um Daniel Munoz was also suspended after an accumulation of yellow cards and some troubling news dropped today that Eze is also out after a knock he took to the foot against Brighton last weekend. I think we're only expecting him to miss this game for now but still any game about Eze is a game too many. Does any of that team news bother you particularly Dan?
00:02:10
Dan Tanner
I believe that Eze wasn't going to be on because I was under the impression that yeah because he played against him in the League Cup game in the yeah yeah EFL the other day but he didn't look particularly fresh or mobile he's kind of he's kind of slightly subdued compared to his normal sort of movement so uh and they've had you know saying that he was slightly injured then so it was only probably just to make sure so um I think yeah so it's just to make to
00:02:24
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah.
00:02:31
Global Sports Podcast Network
ah Yeah.
00:02:40
Dan Tanner
Make sure he can get through the Christmas period he might play but let's just say I won't expect him to start He'll probably be on the bench if anything um if it's only a light injury, so he might just come on to other shore something up or Just go right. We'll see what happens Wharton and stuff ah I think my one was more the fact that it is now being extended into February and because I think we were talking a couple of weeks ago that yeah he might be coming back and he'll start to put up a fight for with Hughes for that position but yeah that now injury is now continuing so we probably won't see him until earliest probably the end of March before you start seeing him regularly but most of the other ones I've been kind of like on ongoing injury so I'm not surprised by that and on the Arsenal side
00:03:31
Dan Tanner
ah I think Rice is probably the only one I'm kind of really worried about because he can be quite sort of dominant in the kind of defensive midfield position. And well, he's one of these guys that can do a lot on the ah into in a game without really looking like he's doing anything. He'll just appear in very weird places. He'll just keep that um engine in the midfield going. so That's the only one from the Arsenal lot that I'm kind of concerned ah that he's coming back. So I could have liked to have gone at least another ah week or so without him not being around.
00:04:09
Global Sports Podcast Network
and I think he is still a doubt. Again, we don't really know. I don't think Arteta is exactly one of these managers who gives you lots of information about who's fit and who isn't, so you never know. I think there's still hope for Palace. He won't play, although I kind of feel like these days, we're a bit more depth there.
00:04:30
Global Sports Podcast Network
with players like Jorginho and Michal Marino to choose from, I kind of feel like Bryce is better, but I sort of would bet on them if they were to dominate Palaces regardless, to be honest, of his presence. um And yeah, with Eze, it's probably a good decision. They are giving me a rest, I reckon. Obviously, Palace are a better team with them in.
00:04:56
Global Sports Podcast Network
but maybe if they've learned a lesson from the Adam Wharton situation, they talk about it's... not to try and make them play through as they did in the League Cup. Started as they bought them off quite early, as it turns out, partly with managing this injury sustained through his foot in mind. And it sounds like, yeah, that did exacerbate things and they're going to give him a game off now. And that might well be a good shout because you... Palace's aim was with
00:05:31
Global Sports Podcast Network
Players like Eze who are so unique and they can't be replace talents of the squad has to be to do whatever they can. to get as many games out of him as possible in a season. And that probably actually looks like not gambling when it's 50-50 and risking extending it, but rather, yeah, giving him the the time and space he needs until he is fit again. One of the interests of me from my astral perspective is just that I've got so many defender's injuries, have them for a while. And whether that's good news, especially good news for Palace or not, I think depends on
00:06:10
Global Sports Podcast Network
who Arteta selects and how he decides to plug those sort of fallback spots. If they play either Louis Skelly or Kiviore at left back, I would fancy Ismaila Saar in his current form to give them some problems and that could be a ah route of some joy for Palace.
00:06:35
Global Sports Podcast Network
That said, if they, and they've given me been doing that in recent games, but they've also got the option to have a, say a par-tay, put par-tay right back and then that frees up, you're in timber to move over to the left back roll and If that's the case, then I don't, I don't fancy styles chances as much of a he that's a really quality defender. Um, but yeah, we'll, uh, we will see who lines up on Saturday and make a judgment from there with Daniel Munoz out the team, Dan.

Player Replacements and Strategy Discussion

00:07:14
Global Sports Podcast Network
how would you like to see Glassner solve that problem? Who would you like him to either put in at right wing back or is that like another solution you could think of?
00:07:21
Dan Tanner
in
00:07:25
Global Sports Podcast Network
or yeah
00:07:26
Dan Tanner
I ah think I had the same conversation with Alec because he was out for the the the cup game too. So um the obvious choice is Nathaniel Kline because he's an out and out right back but he doesn't really have the legs to do the whole ah wing back position.
00:07:45
Dan Tanner
But at least you'll have some some of the, say, experience to know when to move forward and when to sort of defend, etc. So he's the obvious choice. but ivory We are so not short on depth on those full back positions that I think we were saying this at the beginning of the season, like if one of those goes down for any length of time, we're going to have some problems. So it's one of those positions we're going to need to fill in a January transfer window. So um put put right backs and left backs on the Christmas list. um So ah yeah, I think the the obvious choice is a client. But unless you want to do, let's say, a wild card at the heart at some point in the second half and put Schlott somewhere and just sort of let him run riot. But I think that might be a little bit too crazy even for
00:08:40
Dan Tanner
glasner and especially against arsenal i don't see that happening um it's an option but um yeah yeah um it's either that or give um any ah one of them uh youngsters another sort of 15 20 minutes but we don't as i've mentioned earlier we don't really have that much depth when it comes to fallbacks or in most positions by the way so um it's just going to be
00:08:44
Global Sports Podcast Network
That's the first option is I do like get Let him fashion out like a 35 yard shooting opportunity from somewhere.
00:09:10
Dan Tanner
a fun time for the next week or so.
00:09:13
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, I think I would be inclined to give Caleb, Caleb Kapoor apologies to the boy if that's a completely butchered pronunciation, but another go after his first half run out there for Arsenal. If Eze wasn't injured I would have said Kline, but I think so much of the onus is going to be on that right-hand side for palace in an attacking sense without the creativity of Eze. And for Saar to kind of get through and cause the fullbacks max amount of problems, you probably need another body up there to just kind of occupy someone and ask more questions. And Caleb Kapoor looked fit and a willing runner. He looked like he on that showing had
00:10:07
Global Sports Podcast Network
enough technical quality. He didn't affect the play massively, but there were a couple of moments like he took one ball out of the sky that Lerman had played, this looping, like if you were trying to play the most difficult pass possible to control, you couldn't have done much better than the one that Lerman played across to him. And he he took it out really well. And In a way, I think you want Palace to be able to blood through it, to be able to save more players who can fill in those wing back roles and have the energy to do it. I think Klein's got all the quality to do it, but probably just doesn't really have the legs these days. And I think if you're going to blood them in,
00:10:50
Global Sports Podcast Network
In a way, it's sort of a good thing to do it against one of the best teams in the world, counterintuitively, because it sort of takes the pressure off a bit. You don't expect him to dominate his his opposite number. If he makes a mistake that costs Palace, there weren't points that Palace were.
00:11:10
Global Sports Podcast Network
banking on getting anyway. and i I think it might be a good opportunity to give him another run out, see what see what you can do, and he might have more potential as natural.
00:11:22
Global Sports Podcast Network
back up to moon yaws. Whereas, again, just a client can do it and has some really good qualities for it. You can put a good cross in and stuff like that. But I probably see it more as an option to write the center back role these days in the end. But anyway, to wrap up the discussion of this game, Dan, what do you reckon the outcome of this one will be? Has it changed from yesterday for you?
00:11:52
Dan Tanner
I don't think it's changed all that much. I still see it being a 2-2 because we've been doing this scoring early and then being so pushed so trying to defend for most of the game. We did it against City and then we did it against literally Arsenal the other day.
00:12:12
Dan Tanner
so um And after talking to the ah guys of the Arsenal podcast, they were very sort of impressed by the way that what, how difficult we were to play against when we were sort of defending. So, but I still see us giving away sort of some goals and then probably trying to come back. So I think it's going to be ah very, very cagey. We'll get one early and then it's going to, we're just going to defend for the most as much of the game as humanly possible.
00:12:43
Dan Tanner
and we'll just make either ah they'll make an absolute brilliant play or Jesus will suddenly come along again and get a hat trick like he suddenly became a world-class center forward the other night don't know where in the world that came from so um that's my prediction because both teams don't really want to drop points at the moment we're trying to get out of the relegation fight and they're trying to keep up with
00:12:48
Global Sports Podcast Network
Mm hmm.
00:13:11
Dan Tanner
ah Liverpool and trying to get a little bit of a gap from City. So I think if we can get away with a draw, I would be very happy and especially after the beginning of the the month when we were looking at this and we were dreading this last one by thinking, oh, we were probably going to lose nearly all of them and maybe Nick won against Ipswich. But no, we've actually done really well. So hopefully one one last good present before Christmas and then we can relax into the new into the boxing day against Bournemouth.
00:13:42
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, I think it'd be a good game. I think Arsenal will be more aggressive in more attacking in their kind of balance than they often are. They had two disappointing draws on the spin in the Premier League against Fulham and Everton, isn't it? And will be eager to get themselves back in the wins. That could create opportunities for Palace on the counter. I could see a draw. I could see ways that Palace can hurt them. I think one thing we learn mid-week is Palace's ability to manage the game will depend a lot. Not just on the Christmas miracle that is the revival of Gabriel Jesus, or it's um his his, yeah, not turning up again like he did last time, but also on the ability to contain Martin Odega because he is just so good. And I think,
00:14:39
Global Sports Podcast Network
In a way, it'll help Palace to have played Arsenal midweek in that sense, because I'll really be conscious of, OK, you've got to get bodies around this guy, and you just can't let him find those eye of a needle passes through the lines, because they can really hurt you if you do that. ah kind of To be honest, like my gut and my head were saying, like yeah, it's something similar, 1-1, 2-2. The more I think about, the more I think.
00:15:08
Global Sports Podcast Network
I just think it'll be like a Arsenal probably edge it, something like 2-1. The ability they have to... Palace have looked a bit vulnerable on corners in recent weeks, um although it was a good feature to play earlier in the season. You just kind of fancy Arsenal to score a couple of those Stoke City-esque goals. They've become accustomed to scoring and get over the line by hook or by crook. but ah certainly hope I'm wrong. um And with that, we will take a word from our sponsors.
00:16:05
Global Sports Podcast Network
So Palace of course have

Ownership Changes and Financial Implications

00:16:07
Global Sports Podcast Network
their their very own quartet of three wise men and King Herod in the ownership group of Parrish, Blitzer, Harris and Textor. There's been some interesting news regarding Herod's attempts to sell his 45% stake in a Judea this season. The Athletic and London Evening Standard reporting that Textor will make a decision on what he's doing ah before Christmas.
00:16:37
Global Sports Podcast Network
And there are three viable options to involve selling his shares, but one, which looks to be the front runner now, involves Texas maintaining his Crystal Palace shares while a group called Sports Bank invest in his Eagle Football Group. It would in theory give him the funds he needs to aggressively reignite his earlier your efforts to purchase these shares of Harris and or Blitzer and as a result um reignite his efforts to yeah so realize i buy their shares and as a result take a controlling stake of Crystal Palace. Would you be worried by this Dan? Is this news made you concerned about Textor who we thought was probably on the way out actually getting control of the Palace after all?
00:17:33
Dan Tanner
Well, I'm only concerned with texture because of the whole Leon problem. So um the way that they've been kind of, to a point, run into the ground. A team that only a couple of years ago was competing at a Champions League semi-final and now looks like to be sort of relegated into the second tier, even the third tier, I think, maybe depending on how strict eventually want to be with them. um So it's not the greatest choice to sort of get him to sort of get even more control of the club than he already has because yeah we we were very much looking to kind of him to move on so then we can keep at arm's length of this
00:18:19
Dan Tanner
Leon problems we could if he's still in some some kind of control we could get dragged into it very very unlikely it takes a quite a few very unique circumstances for that to happen but it's not the greatest look in the world that being said I think most ah fans don't really mind who's in charge as long until the point where their ticket prices start going up and the club starts losing or they start losing their their star players at a cut price that's when most fans probably start to pay attention to who's in the
00:19:02
Dan Tanner
who's making the decisions because we've also been lucky that we do have Parrish that try to keep so the reins on and try and keep the sustainability model that the premiership is requiring now. So we'll see what happens, but it's not the greatest look if he actually stays around because he'll want to try and basically make money out of it. So very much in these the American style, which I know we're not supposed to say around here anymore.
00:19:32
Dan Tanner
Bye.
00:19:36
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, not I think um your rights have have concerns, particularly with Leon, where there's a that's the risk of just dissociating from that whole situation would be probably good for Palace at the moment. And and admittedly,
00:19:54
Global Sports Podcast Network
the context is slightly different in France because there's much less money in the league so the club's revenues are lower but taking it all out proportionally Lyon are not a club, they should have to overstretch neither heat to push towards say European football if that's his goal. They're one of the biggest teams in France, that's where they should be and I assume they make more revenue than most teams in France and could be run successfully and sustainably and yet they have been run into the ground under text ownership. Quite the details of whose fault that is, I don't know.
00:20:37
Global Sports Podcast Network
But yeah if he's kind of if he has caused that problem and his ambition is to push his clubs towards Europe and stretch them as far as he can, that is concerning from Palace's point of view because Palace are a club you need to overheat and overstretch and push beyond what you think of as their natural sustainable ceiling if you really wanted to drive them much further than they've been really in the last last decade.
00:21:06
Global Sports Podcast Network
So I think that is a concern, um a very real one the for Palace fans with texture. And as you say, this it it would really depend, how concerning it is or isn't would depend on how much kind of control Steve Parrish maintains, as you say. I think if he keeps his place and manages to so keep an ideal, which gives him a lot of sway then you wouldn't you wouldn't worry so much because I think he's very sensible he's not gonna the kind of worst fate that um Steve Parrish is going to oversee at Palace is his relegation on lack of sporting merit which always feels possible but it's not kind of you don't think he's going to do anything mad that's going to read jeopardize the club on a deeper level than that so yeah I think there are there are worries
00:22:04
Global Sports Podcast Network
associated with this from a Palace point of view. The possible benefit of a sports bank deal is that it looks like the one that could get completed the quickest for a variety of reasons, which would potentially mean there's an injection of cash available for Palace Strengthen in January, whereas with the other other potential bidders, that seems unlikely.
00:22:34
Global Sports Podcast Network
Do you think a January cash injection with Palace in the kind of still precarious position they are in now would be enough to kind of offset the downsides potentially of of Texas continued involvement?
00:22:52
Dan Tanner
Well one that's very dependent on how much of a cash investment it is because the economics on football players have gone up exponentially over the last few years and especially with one's players that we're going to be looking at which are the same as most of the clubs from the top six down so they'll see the Premier League logo on the email or the ah whatever message board that these guys use and they'll jack up the price so and and especially when these clubs will know that we suddenly got a cash injection they go right let's see if we can't get a little bit more out and just a little bit more so um it's very dependent on how much we get but
00:23:40
Dan Tanner
we still need to probably spend quite a bit to get a little bit more safety because we do need a lot of players in some very specific positions and ones that have got but some very unique talents as well because that's a one of the palace ways of doing it is finding these guys that have got very weird sort of skill sets, creative players as well as the bruisers down the middle. so um They're very, very specific, we look for, to wear the Crystal Palace shirt. But I think it would probably offset it for a while that if it's, of if Texas is still around that we've gotten, we've got some more caching injection, we can actually start to get a little, get somewhere. So it will probably offset it for a while, but then the question will probably be brought up again just at the end of the season as well, depending on whatever behind the scenes negotiations
00:24:38
Dan Tanner
um being put into place because I'm pretty sure they'll have backup plans for backup plans etc.
00:24:44
Global Sports Podcast Network
I don't know if it stands to benefit Palace that much, because I think unless Palace lose a couple of big names for big money in January, which could happen, they don't need that much money in January.
00:25:03
Global Sports Podcast Network
um If they do lose a couple of big names for big money, then they'll have money from the big names they've just lost to replace them with. And so I don't think it's that necessary. Really assuming Ceteris Paribas, the team, just stays as it is. What Palace need is a couple of players, probably fullbacks, maybe midfielders, but fields but not players that are going to come into starting 11 and revolutionise away Palace play, but just flexible decent players that shouldn't, with Palace's, as you say, quite strong scouting records, ability to identify talent, shouldn't cost that much money. um Players and in the mould of, say, for an undervalued league like
00:25:53
Global Sports Podcast Network
got Moonyaws from over in Belgium and he wasn't i wasn't in his ah wasn't a youth player that was going to cost loads because he could one day become brilliant and it turned out to be a great signing. but somewhere from like that, the championship, someone who's not going to cost now on a leg and can play a variety of roles and be at the level and it doesn't need to be a kind of world beater. Moon has made a bad example because it turned out he's really good, but I think that's, you know, it's that kind of profile of signing would, it's what Palace need and for that they probably don't need loads and loads of money. One quick point I would make before we move on though is,
00:26:33
Global Sports Podcast Network
I don't know what you think about this Dan. I kind of wonder if this sports bank bid is being talked up by Textor in his press briefings and if it could be a negotiating ploy because there is this other bid from this US Saudi consortium which got turned down. He wasn't happy with the price of it, they signaled, or apparently have signaled a kind of willingness to potentially increase the bid at some point. Then his negotiating hand weakened a bit because of the Leon situation and his need to raise money to to address that. And I think maybe by suggesting he has an alternative to selling his Palace shares, that puts him in a stronger negotiating position to actually do that. And maybe, I don't know, cause it seems like he's,
00:27:29
Global Sports Podcast Network
He only really wants to be in Palace if he can get full control of the club and maybe believes he can do that but it's not that much encouragement so far. It's been pretty much flat out rejected by Harris and Blitzer who festively also sounds like the member of the Palace ownership group, most likely to bully Rudolf. But he's, yeah, I wonder if it's a little bit hyped up to strengthen his hand i don't know but we just we know that he likes to talk to the media and unless it's verbal diarrhea i've always assumed there's a little bit of a an element of
00:28:08
Global Sports Podcast Network
weaponizing information to strengthen his negotiating positions and stuff like that and I wonder if this could be an example of that and we we could actually see Texas Heaven's Palace shares after all but we'll see apparently we'll see before Christmas but and I'm not sure not sure I believe fuck if I believe that um yeah but yeah we'll have a quick break and Len speaking of Christmas go into our festive quiz

Festive Quiz with Dan

00:29:00
Global Sports Podcast Network
Christmas is a time of merriment for most, but not necessarily for football fans. Where many countries have winter breaks, we cram in as many fixtures as possible here. If your team's in a bad run of form, that can just mean misery, compounding misery as you get ready it to go into the new year. But nevertheless, I thought we should celebrate the tradition of festive football with this, a premier Christmas quiz.
00:29:28
Dan Tanner
Oh, you'll be working all afternoon on that one. i
00:29:31
Global Sports Podcast Network
practice Not a laugh, that was a five minute job. That was a five minute job. I was trying to do something with Quizmire for a while and abandoned that. I've got three questions for you, Dan. You're playing for Pride and nothing else, but are you ready to jump into it?
00:29:53
Dan Tanner
Oh, give it a go. Why not?
00:29:55
Global Sports Podcast Network
it's ah It's more prem themes than palace themes, just so you don't end up on a
00:29:59
Dan Tanner
All
00:30:00
Global Sports Podcast Network
Again, get your answers muddled by traffic and palace players. But yeah, I'll get straight into it. So your first question is that Turkey, famous as the bang, is is famous as the bang average protein, which casts long shadow over Christmas dinner, but it's also a large Eurasian country. Which bang average Turkish international has played more games than any other in Premier League history? That's all I want you to tell me.
00:30:31
Global Sports Podcast Network
So basically which Turkish international?
00:30:33
Dan Tanner
Which Turkish player has had the more most appearances in the prem essentially is what you're asking me.
00:30:39
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah.
00:30:41
Dan Tanner
I'm trying to rack my head of Turkish players.
00:30:46
Dan Tanner
Oh god. I have no idea.
00:30:53
Global Sports Podcast Network
I'll give you a clue and if you met him in the street, ah and had a quick chat to him. I'm not sure you'd get that he was Turkish. I think that might be something you were surprised.
00:31:06
Dan Tanner
oh I don't know, I'm assuming he's probably not a second nationality, so I don't know, I don't know i really can't, his mind has gone on that one.
00:31:19
Global Sports Podcast Network
It is, Muzzy is it, of London.
00:31:23
Dan Tanner
Oh, Lester back a long, long time ago. Lester Platt, wasn't he?
00:31:28
Global Sports Podcast Network
I was going to say, I called him Bang Average.
00:31:30
Dan Tanner
Yeah.
00:31:31
Global Sports Podcast Network
I don't know if that's actually fair. It's kind of before my time as he is it. So apologies if he was actually a good player.
00:31:37
Dan Tanner
Vaguely remember him, but I think he was on the way out as I was going.
00:31:39
Global Sports Podcast Network
Take that and say he was Bang Average.
00:31:43
Global Sports Podcast Network
um So next question.
00:31:46
Dan Tanner
next question
00:31:48
Global Sports Podcast Network
I have here a bottle of Baileys. It's a velvety breakfasty texture that will facilitate round the clock drinking in many households this Christmas.
00:31:55

Leon is probably the Premier League's most famous Bayley. What I want you to tell me is which of these was the name of an Austrian team that he played for at youth level? Is it A, ANIF JAGENZ? B, ANIF JAR TOP? C, ANIF VAS MITTEL? Or D, ANIF PICTURE BOTTOM?
00:32:29
Global Sports Podcast Network
Which one of those sounds like plausible to me?
00:32:31
Dan Tanner
I think it's B. I think it's B.
00:32:36
Global Sports Podcast Network
And if Jartop, I'm afraid it was actually A, annie and Jartop ends.
00:32:38
Dan Tanner
Yeah.
00:32:41
Dan Tanner
Oh, there's A.
00:32:45
Dan Tanner
Okay. Slight back to the dark, because those the Austrian ones do have some ah very similar sounding names when they start getting ah further down the league.
00:32:56
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah. I thought they all sounded kind of plausible as fake Austrian team names. um And also this team doesn't have a Wikipedia page, so we're talking very far down the leagues.
00:33:04
Dan Tanner
compell
00:33:07
Dan Tanner
Very far down, so I haven't shown it.
00:33:08
Global Sports Podcast Network
Very far down the leagues.
00:33:13
Global Sports Podcast Network
As a third and final question, a chance to get one right here, Dan.
00:33:18
Dan Tanner
Try and get one in. Let's see if we can get one in. Probably not, but we'll see if we can't get at least one.

Former Sunderland manager, Dick Advocate's name, the funniest in Premier League history, is shared by an eggy Christmas-y beverage. But why can't Dick himself drink the stuff?
00:33:38
Global Sports Podcast Network
Why can't Dick drink Advocate?

Is it, A, that he's teetotal, B, he's allergic to vanilla extract, C, he used to have an exclusive lucrative sponsorship deal with Advocate in his days as Rangers manager. He violated the terms of the contract, though, as he was pictured with a bottle of Buckfast for his being beef patties around Sucky Hall Street McDonald's on Good Friday. The resulting lawsuit saw him banned from drinking the stuff. Or is it D, that he reviewed us to consume anything that's come out of a chicken's bum, in his words?
00:34:21
Dan Tanner
I think the most plausible one's probably he's T total, but I'd love it to be D, just to sort.
00:34:22
Global Sports Podcast Network
Which of those do you think sounds like the reason?
00:34:30
Dan Tanner
Just out of principle, I am not going to...
00:34:36
Global Sports Podcast Network
Which your answer, Dan? Which is your answer?
00:34:37
Dan Tanner
I would go with D, it's just funnier.
00:34:39
Global Sports Podcast Network
shut up Yeah, I mean, ah I found you half a point there because it was a, I also wish it was a
00:34:39
Dan Tanner
since I know it's probably most likely going to be A, but just for the sheer eagles of D.
00:34:51
Global Sports Podcast Network
Sadly, sadly not. I don't think um he has any kind of aversion to eggs as far as I'm aware.
00:34:56
Dan Tanner
That's funny.
00:34:57
Global Sports Podcast Network
But Dick, if you're listening and do have an egg issue, write in.
00:34:58
Dan Tanner
you're saying
00:35:01
Dan Tanner
cause I was going to say that um lawsuit one seems a little bit implausible. How are you going to sort of police that? Oh, you just can't have this drink. What? I can have what I want in my own hope.
00:35:13
Dan Tanner
Thank you very much.
00:35:14

every part of the country, every off license, as a part of the advocates do not serve this man.
00:35:17
Dan Tanner
Yeah.
00:35:20
Global Sports Podcast Network
yeah
00:35:20
Dan Tanner
You can't serve this man this Pacific drink. Why not? Well, here's a court order. Sorry, Lee.
00:35:30
Global Sports Podcast Network
Right, well, I think that's what we've got time for today.
00:35:31
Dan Tanner
um
00:35:32
Global Sports Podcast Network
So thank you as ever for joining me, Dan.
00:35:35
Dan Tanner
As always, always a pleasure mate.

um We will be back next Monday. We'll probably have a reduced schedule, um given it's Christmas week next week, um but we'll certainly be knocking out a couple of podcasts and reviewing the whatever happens in the game against Arsenal. If you listened this far and enjoyed, give us five stars. If you listened this far and not enjoyed, it's Christmas, so give us five stars anyway. And yeah, I hope to see you on Monday.
