Season Wrap-Up

00:00:11
Global Sports Podcast Network
Hello and welcome back to the Daily Palace podcast brought to you, sent for the last time this season by the Global Sports Podcast Network. I'm Joe Lodge, I'll be your host today.
00:00:24
Global Sports Podcast Network
With me today is Wale

Reflecting on Club Football

00:00:26
Global Sports Podcast Network
Bakari. How are you doing?
00:00:28
Wale Bakare
I'm all right. We'll miss the football. um You know, it's going to be a lot of weeks of, you know, no club football, but then it's it's also been a great season of a lot of action, you know, so, um yeah, ah but yeah, I'll miss it, but I'm okay.
00:00:45
Global Sports Podcast Network
certainly has been a great season um yeah i'll miss it i'll miss it i mean i don't think i'm going to be getting a the zone subscription to watch the club world cup but we'll see we'll see how desperate we get um yeah maybe just watching some old but recordings of games i uh what's it called have you been on that but Ballier I think it's called something like that now that's what I would do in the in the summer in that case um as we say the final ball has been kicked in anger this season with Palace capping off a spectacular season with a creditable draw away at league champions Liverpool uh Palace have uh
00:01:09
Wale Bakare
Yeah, yeah.
00:01:33
Global Sports Podcast Network
oh we what I've got lost to my notes.

Liverpool vs Palace Match Highlights

00:01:38
Global Sports Podcast Network
We've enjoyed covering all this season as the important but point.
00:01:40
Wale Bakare
Thank you.
00:01:42
Global Sports Podcast Network
um All the transfer rumours, boardroom manoeuvrings. If you're still listening to us, we've got to say A, thank you and B, get a life. What are you doing?
00:01:57
Global Sports Podcast Network
But today, for the final time this season, we are going to talk about... um that Liverpool game, the final match, and share our favourite moments from the last year.
00:02:11
Global Sports Podcast Network
So it feels bit weird to talk about this. ah We're recording after the terrible events of the title parade yesterday. So um Sunday's inconsequential season closer Anfield feels ah a long way away now.
00:02:28
Global Sports Podcast Network
But nevertheless, while they... If you cast your mind back, what did you think of the game?

Was the Match Result Deserved?

00:02:34
Global Sports Podcast Network
Was that deserved result? Does it matter?
00:02:39
Wale Bakare
Yeah, I think at the end of the day, was it was a deserved result. You know, Liverpool didn't necessarily deserve to win the game. And you could make the same argument for every game Liverpool have played after that game against Tottenham where, you know, the team claimed the title.
00:02:56
Wale Bakare
um Against Chelsea, they were very lackluster. Against Arsenal, that was a more maybe competitive game.
00:03:04
Global Sports Podcast Network
You
00:03:04
Wale Bakare
Then there was a feeling of, no, we're not losing to Arsenal because that's going to be a lot ammunition for Arteta to say, oh, we've we've been we've just been unlucky this season.
00:03:12
Global Sports Podcast Network
don't want to encourage them.
00:03:15
Wale Bakare
But yeah, Liverpool didn't you know play like they deserved to

Palace's Defensive Highlights

00:03:20
Wale Bakare
win. so And Palace were great, as always. Vintage Palace performance.
00:03:26
Wale Bakare
Greg Lowe blocked, defended well, crowded the penalty box well. Liverpool struggled to break them down. um You know, Palace got a good goal. um just It's just another situation of being clinical, you know, got the chance. Smilesa buried it well but past.
00:03:47
Wale Bakare
Alisson was arguably, you know, the best goalkeeper in the world in one-on-one situations. And he just finished well. And Palace had other chances. Jean-Philippe Mateta was...
00:03:58
Wale Bakare
just just offside a couple of times and could have gotten a goal for himself. So it it was a ah a good game for Palace. It was the perfect ending to the season.
00:04:10
Wale Bakare
Liverpool ah playing their last home game. They were going to you know finally leave the title

Match Significance in Context

00:04:16
Wale Bakare
in front of their fans. Last game for Trent Alexander-Arnold, who I'm sure wasn't sure what reception it was going to get, but things went well eventually for him. So,
00:04:26
Wale Bakare
It was just a balanced game. No one felt at Dubai. No one felt, oh, we should have won that. And when you look at both teams, it was quite inconsequential. Liverpool won the league already.
00:04:38
Wale Bakare
Palace won the f FA Cup. Bet at their best points performance in the Premier League. So it was just a bread and butter situation. Let's just ah get it over with. And it was a good game, to be honest.
00:04:51
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, I mean, i mean considering both what both teams have done and that they've both kind of had their seasons have ended already with with with big results with silverware, they've achieved what they set out to achieve and then some.
00:05:06
Wale Bakare
but
00:05:11
Global Sports Podcast Network
It could have been played at a worse tempo, I think.
00:05:13
Wale Bakare
yeah
00:05:15
Global Sports Podcast Network
There was a decent amount of intensity, some good moments, some
00:05:21
Global Sports Podcast Network
But fundamentally, i don't think either team seemed massively concerned about getting over the line and ah winning the game. A few moments of... thought Palace were quite good in an attacking sense.
00:05:36
Global Sports Podcast Network
They were defensively a little bit passive is probably where you could see the sluggishness come in. They didn't press that aggressively from the front. And they had a few of those problems that...
00:05:48
Global Sports Podcast Network
They had the win-less run at the start of the season where there were about eight Palace players in the box and three Liverpool players. And it was still Liverpool player in the box would find themselves unmarked and having a good opportunity team in front of goal. um But I don't think anything to be too concerned about at this point. You know, you're cutting some slack now, aren't you?
00:06:13
Global Sports Podcast Network
Who stood out from a Palace point of

Standout Players of the Season

00:06:15
Global Sports Podcast Network
view? Do you think anyone really quit themselves while in this final game?
00:06:19
Wale Bakare
Yeah, it's my smile as hell. You've got the goal. had a good game. As always, Munoz had another good game, the you know, to wrap up the season. But do you know who I think had a fantastic game? It was Tyrek Mitchell.
00:06:35
Wale Bakare
He was great against Salah. um almost always got the ball back every time Salah faced him in the first half. Although in the second half, Salah did devise the trick of ah not going too close to him and you know try to ah cut to his left and maybe pick out a cross or a pass. But that's what intelligent players do anyway, to find solutions. But Mitchell was up to the task um from the start to the finish.
00:07:04
Wale Bakare
um you know, but it wasn't a situation of lot of teams when they play Liverpool or they play Mo Salah, who's maybe the best player in the Premier League at the moment, you know, but they tend to double up on him and you'll find the fullback not going forward too much and staying with him.
00:07:09
Global Sports Podcast Network
Thank you.
00:07:20
Wale Bakare
But Mitchell offered a lot going forward still, um you know, found himself in correct positions in front and he was just calm and measured and ah He had a great game. So for me, Saar Mitchell, Aze, yeah. Low-key game for him, but it did send some shivers down the spine of Liverpool players every time he had the ball. So but those those were you know the great players.
00:07:43
Wale Bakare
I think at the end of the day, um for you know there was a bit of lemma coming in for Gaye. in the defence, you could sense that feeling of maybe the boys parted too much in the Palace defence after the FA Cup final. Although you could say the same for the vast majority of the Liverpool players as well.
00:08:06
Wale Bakare
ah You know, it was, yeah, and the manager maybe.
00:08:06
Global Sports Podcast Network
and the money is yeah
00:08:09
Wale Bakare
So, yeah, but ah but those were the guys for me for Palace. Mitchell, Saar, Eze, yeah, great games they but they all had.
00:08:18
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, Mitchell was on that down as well. More than anything because that, again, the thing that he's worked on, worked hard on, you think, this season is his ability to contribute in the final third, his touch, his creativity,
00:08:37
Global Sports Podcast Network
and And that was summed up the work he did for the goal was brilliant. First touch swivels, picks his pass out really quickly. Doesn't think twice about Spots are on a runner's start before anyone waits at all perfectly and puts on a play for him. It was I don't think necessarily something you'd see Tyrone Mitchell doing 12-18 months ago and

Kamada's Potential in Midfield

00:09:02
Global Sports Podcast Network
sums up the progression he's made over the season.
00:09:02
Wale Bakare
correct
00:09:04
Global Sports Podcast Network
It was nice to see. thought another good game from Kamada, who's maybe like right at the end of the season. Staked his claim that I reckon he might go into next season, depending on what happens in the transfer market.
00:09:20
Global Sports Podcast Network
as one of the default two starting midfielders alongside Wharton with performances he's put in right at the back end of this season. And you probably wouldn't have expected that two months ago. He still seems to be on the fringes and not necessarily trusted to play.
00:09:36
Global Sports Podcast Network
Certainly mid, so he kept off a really good run of form with another big performance. And i i that was best encapsulated in him. earning the red card Graven Birch by just herring down a loose ball.
00:09:51
Global Sports Podcast Network
I think surprising Graven Birch with his willingness to get to that in a game that didn't really mean anything.
00:09:53
Wale Bakare
Yeah.
00:09:56
Global Sports Podcast Network
um Gillespie was... Maybe surprisingly negative after the match, ah suggesting that some of the team played with too much ego, too little intensity, not enough for their teammates.
00:10:17
Global Sports Podcast Network
ah What do you think of those comments? Well, it's a bit harsh at the end of a season like this to dig them out before I go on this time all day.
00:10:23
Wale Bakare
yeah
00:10:25
Wale Bakare
Yeah, you're right. It's a bit harsh, but I also think it maybe tells you, um you know, us what goes on in Olivier Glassman's head and the type of manager is.
00:10:37
Wale Bakare
You know, that that's something... maybe Rafael Benitez would say you know after winning the Champions League or something Antonio Conte would say.
00:10:46
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah.
00:10:48
Wale Bakare
you to a book But yeah, it wouldn't be the first us manager to make comments of that nature after you know a good season, after the end of what many would look at and say, ah you know it's been a good season. he The way a lot people talked about him is,
00:11:03
Wale Bakare
you know, in the running for, you know, manager of the season. So I think at the end of the day, you were alone lot of his players wouldn't be surprised. And, um, but what i'm I'm sure the boys already made some of plans. They wouldn't really be paying a lot of attention to what he had to say after that game.
00:11:22
Wale Bakare
um Yeah, but at the end of the day, um it was probably right. Although you could think it it's the last game of the season, um especially after the kind of season Palace have had, winning the e FA Cup particularly, and then you know just wrapping things up against Liverpool.
00:11:39
Wale Bakare
I think Glasner maybe was really hoping to spoil the party you know for Liverpool and get a win. But when you look at it really nothing really was going to spoil that party for Liverpool.
00:11:49
Wale Bakare
you know The final day, it ah it wouldn't really have mattered if they had lost. But yeah, you was it was right. Some of the players ah you know didn't show up. Some of them, um maybe there was some complacency and you or maybe it was just a situation of they've had a long season. We also have to remember Glasner practically plays some players every game, whether it's the League Cup, whether it's the FA Cup.
00:11:49
Global Sports Podcast Network
Mm-hmm.
00:12:20
Wale Bakare
So they but they they've had a long season, some of these boys, and we have to say they've they've been wonderful this season.
00:12:28
Global Sports Podcast Network
yeah Yeah, I mean, I suspect the comments kind of made with the end ah the beginning this season in mind I was a bit surprised because I think he's usually quite laid back, at least publicly, Glaston. But I guess Palace finished last season on a high,
00:12:56
Global Sports Podcast Network
And then start the next year really slowly, maybe trying to lay down a marker if you turn up out shape in preseason.
00:13:01
Wale Bakare
Yeah.
00:13:05
Global Sports Podcast Network
Don't have the intensity, turn up bit too relaxed almost. he's not going to be happy. He wants to come out of the blocks faster next year and that is probably only really a good thing for Palace. I don't get the impression it's like he's taken a turn to the dark side and become a ah nasty ah nasty gaffer.
00:13:28
Global Sports Podcast Network
But we'll see. We'll see you next season.

End of Season Awards Introduction

00:13:30
Global Sports Podcast Network
Maybe it'll he'll be an Austrian Mourinho. um We'll take a quick break there for a word from our sponsor before turning to discuss our best things from the season.
00:14:23
Global Sports Podcast Network
Ballon d'Or ceremony, Oscars, the British Insurance Digital Innovation of the Year Awards, the Nobel Peace Prize. They all matter, but they're nothing compared to this.
00:14:35
Global Sports Podcast Network
The big one. It's time for Joe and Wale's respective Global Sports Podcast Network Daily Palace Podcast End of Season Awards, brought to by Bionic. Wale, we've got three categories to award.
00:14:49
Global Sports Podcast Network
Can you please start us off by telling me your goal of the season.
00:14:58
Wale Bakare
has to be...

Goal of the Season: Eze's FA Cup Semi-Final

00:14:59
Wale Bakare
It has to be a um
00:15:08
Wale Bakare
All of a sudden, can't remember the game, but you know Lagu.
00:15:13
Wale Bakare
Oh, man. I did have this down. I
00:15:20
Wale Bakare
did have this down.
00:15:21
Global Sports Podcast Network
The one that was ruled out in the first week?
00:15:21
Wale Bakare
Yeah.
00:15:25
Wale Bakare
Oh, no, definitely not that. Oh, was like, oh, do you know, that would have been um that that would have been a fantastic goal.
00:15:29
Global Sports Podcast Network
That would have been the goal of the season, I reckon, if that came out.
00:15:33
Wale Bakare
But, yeah. But, you know, Aces' goal in in in the FA Cup was a fantastic one.
00:15:40
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah.
00:15:43
Wale Bakare
and
00:15:44
Global Sports Podcast Network
Villa semi-final?
00:15:45
Wale Bakare
Yeah, the semi-final.
00:15:46
Global Sports Podcast Network
yeah Yeah, I agree.
00:15:47
Wale Bakare
and And that that was was great technique.
00:15:47
Global Sports Podcast Network
I agree.
00:15:50
Wale Bakare
Although it was a there was a good pass to him, it was a good pick out. But it was great technique. And to be honest, it might um it might have you know one or two goals that could maybe have featured in the goal of the season. But yeah, that that one, particularly for me.
00:16:08
Wale Bakare
Honourable mention has to go to... um Munoz's goal, Jean-Philippe Mateta's wonderful dribble and then the pass to Munoz. ah you But yeah, it has to be that AFA Cup goal for me in the semi-final.
00:16:22
Global Sports Podcast Network
yeah I've gone the same let for men you say I'd say he could had few the one where he can jinx inside because of fire post against Fulham was pretty impressive too but let go for its significance um the game was fairly evenly matched and Eze pulled that out of the hat and it sort of forced Villa onto Palace which allowed them to execute plan A which is absorb the pressure, hit them on the counter, use the pace of someone like Saar and it's really it really is difficult, it's kind of more, it looks impressive and I think it's more difficult than it looks because he's got such little space, he can't take a touch and
00:16:46
Wale Bakare
Yeah.
00:17:12
Global Sports Podcast Network
i think the space is so constricted, yeah actually has to hit quite an unorthodox technique. but His body's really quite closed.
00:17:22
Global Sports Podcast Network
He doesn't get a good swing at it in a way that you you'd hope to generate that sort of power and yet guides it with pace, with power, is exactly the way he wants it. It's a very impressive goal.
00:17:35
Global Sports Podcast Network
Although I think individually...

Mateta's Lob vs Arsenal

00:17:40
Global Sports Podcast Network
my favourite goal to watch and the best goal, separate from its significance, for me is Mateta's lob against Arsenal, bullying a defender.
00:17:51
Wale Bakare
That was a goal good goal.
00:17:54
Global Sports Podcast Network
but But, um yeah, it doesn't doesn't mean the same as... Eze's really was...
00:18:00
Global Sports Podcast Network
the goal that set Palace on their way to their biggest match in history and that deserves some recognition although you can argue Mateta's as a ah title winning goal almost just the not for Palace
00:18:05
Wale Bakare
Yeah, Matt.
00:18:14
Global Sports Podcast Network
ah now can you move on Wurley to tell me what your favourite game of the season was or yeah best match best moment
00:18:31
Wale Bakare
Well, that's kind of many different things, but in one, you know, because Pest Moorman has to be, you know, Palace winning in the FA Cup, you know, and it was...
00:18:38
Global Sports Podcast Network
yeah I still think it was in the box.
00:18:43
Wale Bakare
that The whole game was the moment. That obviously was you know the best game you for me.

Best Match: FA Cup Final Victory

00:18:51
Wale Bakare
Palace got the goal early, had to defend against a quality city side, a hungry city side, city side.
00:19:02
Wale Bakare
ah There was the great fortune of Henderson not being sent off. Then there was the penalty.
00:19:08
Global Sports Podcast Network
i still think it was in the book
00:19:10
Wale Bakare
ah yeah But yeah, there was the penalty. And he saved it and made some great saves later on in the game. Palace defended heroically.
00:19:23
Wale Bakare
And it was just it was just a beautiful story you know to the end of the season. So that definitely has to be you know the best game. It was punishing to watch, though.
00:19:34
Wale Bakare
It wasn't so easy to watch.
00:19:35
Global Sports Podcast Network
and
00:19:37
Wale Bakare
It wasn't easy for the players. But... i You know, there's something about victories of that nature where you've suffered so much and you've just worked so hard to grind out the results, especially in that you know fashion and winning need the first trophy for the club in its history. So it definitely, ah there's this no other.
00:20:01
Wale Bakare
thing that comes in comparison to that for Palace this season. Although, yeah, there's other you know great games in terms of scoreline. We mentioned the Villa game in the semifinal. One other game I really loved watching was Aston Villa against the Palace in the Premier League, actually, the 4-1-1, because of the fact that Villa actually went ahead in that

Memorable Matches: Aston Villa Comeback

00:20:21
Wale Bakare
game.
00:20:21
Wale Bakare
And it was a time where you know Palace were getting back to form. They were on a good run of form, but they had the odd poor performance in them, like we saw you know in Brentford at home.
00:20:34
Wale Bakare
And once Villa scored, you thought, I hope this doesn't turn out to be another one of those. But seven minutes later, I think they're about Palace go on equaliser. You know, think it was on form. I think Mateta got two goals.
00:20:47
Wale Bakare
That must have been the first game. Edin Katia got his first Premier League goal as well. So it it was a good game, but nothing, nothing can compare to the FA Cup final, old definitely.
00:20:58
Global Sports Podcast Network
yeah obviously there's no topping that really is there the one game that Aya has it's also are not necessarily most enjoyable watch um The other game I think deserves a mention is the win against Spurs, ending the seven game, win this run at the start of the season.

Turning Point Victory Against Spurs

00:21:17
Global Sports Podcast Network
Just for what it meant, really, it was a moment that things clicked. At that point, it's worth remembering... that Spurs were not yet one of the teams that you'd have down as green, fixed difficulty, winnable match. Still thought they were pretty good at that stage. um And Palace dug in, counter-defectively, hit Spurs quickly. And it was like the first time that the vision of what Palace were going to be this season under Glessen and how that was different from...
00:21:53
Global Sports Podcast Network
when they had Alise, first time that really kind of clicked and you thought, okay, I understand what this is. This can work. um And I really would say they haven't looked back from there.
00:22:03
Global Sports Podcast Network
There have obviously a little dips and fluctuations in form, but since that, it it's been pretty consistently good from Palace. So, yeah, can't be many games that are bigger turning points, clearer turning points for any team really in the league this season.
00:22:16
Wale Bakare
Eric.
00:22:19
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah. We will stop for one last ad break and then wrap up by giving out the big awards.
00:22:53
Global Sports Podcast Network
So, Wale, here's the big one.

Player of the Season: Daniel Munoz

00:22:57
Global Sports Podcast Network
Can you tell me your Eagle of the Year?
00:23:05
Wale Bakare
um
00:23:06
Wale Bakare
What's that? Play of the season you said, yeah.
00:23:08
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah.
00:23:11
Wale Bakare
Yeah.
00:23:12
Wale Bakare
um it's ah It's a tough one, but ah eventually are kind of settled for Munoz and Rybrach.
00:23:12
Global Sports Podcast Network
the
00:23:23
Wale Bakare
I think that... It's been very, very consistent this season. um i think that he's created a lot of chances, gotten a lot of goals, some of them very important.
00:23:39
Wale Bakare
ah The most important goals scored by Palace this season are that one um involvement or the other by Munoz.
00:23:51
Wale Bakare
the FA Cup final, you know, that was ah great attack. We dragged the defenders to him, then put a perfectly weighted pass to Eze and, you know, practically did the job for him.
00:24:05
Wale Bakare
And we saw that many times, you know, this season. but I was talking earlier about, you know, the the Mateta dribble and then the pass to him. But Moines' finishing made it good. It could have gotten a goal, by the way, in the FA Cup final.
00:24:20
Wale Bakare
naturally the goalkeeper should be getting to that first, but it's gotten to it first and he's putting it in the net. And that you just just sums up ah the kind of player has been this season. It's been dug at his fourth two to nil.
00:24:36
Wale Bakare
It's just gone up and down the pitch. Um, You've seen him you know trying to put a cross in just about 30 seconds ago. He's back defending and he's back up front the next minute.
00:24:53
Wale Bakare
And a lot of things came down his for Palace. and Every um time I've tried to pick a Premier League team of the season for me, whether it's for my FPL or whatever, it's been...
00:25:07
Wale Bakare
yeah the the one I've picked at right back. Although maybe he's not the conventional right back, but he defends well. I know a lot of, I've seen a lot of guys go for Alexander. I know to be fair, there's been a lot of guys that have gone for Munoz as well.
00:25:21
Wale Bakare
But I just think it's been great. I think guys have gone for Arnold because maybe because of the sentiment of his leaving. And yeah, he's had a good season as well. But I think Munoz has been, you know, the the best player and right back in the Premier League this season. and maybe your line or get a mention as well. But Munoz has been great.
00:25:39
Wale Bakare
It's been very effective for Palace. Created a lot of chances. Yeah, you could go. is a And a couple of other players, maybe one of the defenders, Gayle, Laquan, the like, maybe Henderson. But it's it's been Munoz for me, honestly.
00:25:54
Global Sports Podcast Network
ah Well, yo'll you'll be amazed, ah despite my role as unofficial hype man for John Fulham Teta.

Munoz's Role and Influence

00:26:00
Global Sports Podcast Network
We've actually got consensus here. of course I've also gone Daniel Munoz.
00:26:02
Wale Bakare
Ah, that's...
00:26:05
Wale Bakare
I thought might have gone maybe Dean Anderson or...
00:26:05
Global Sports Podcast Network
ah
00:26:08
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, I mean, I could have gone with like five or six people here.
00:26:13
Wale Bakare
Yeah.
00:26:14
Global Sports Podcast Network
it was It wasn't an easy choice, but I think Munoz has been such a, maybe the most kind of important individual cog That wing-back system is i only really any good if you've got players with the energy to... you can kind of If your players can keep up with the flow of the game at wing-back, then you have an extra man...
00:26:42
Global Sports Podcast Network
in defence and attack. And if they can't, you have a man less in defence and attack if they're kind just letting it pass them by.
00:26:46
Wale Bakare
Thank you.
00:26:48
Global Sports Podcast Network
And Munoz is always keeping up with it or ahead of the flow the game. He's one of the most tireless workers I've ever seen on a football pitch. He's able to contribute at both ends, four goals, five assists in the league, more in the Cups.
00:27:06
Global Sports Podcast Network
Won the ball back nearly five times a match. I was a real like beast defensively as well. And always stretching teams, always an out ball. And as you say, Wale, big performances in big moments. He was very good in the FA Cup final and number of her big matches in the season. I think if we had to pick one, he is the player the season. But obviously, Eze, Mateta, Saar, Gehi, Henderson, even Will Hughes deserve shouts, I think, this season.
00:27:41
Global Sports Podcast Network
um It's been a collective effort. But yeah, if I had pick one, Daniel Minos.
00:27:49
Wale Bakare
right. I'm glad we've, you know, read the contents there. But, yeah, as I said, you could go for, excuse me, you know, Eze and Anderson and both. Yeah, I said, Munoz has just been great this season, honestly.
00:28:02
Global Sports Podcast Network
i should I should caveat, as John Felipe Mateta is a spokesperson, by saying if he doesn't get stopped in his tracks against Millwall in the season, I reckon he scores 20 goals. He's definitely my player of the season.
00:28:14
Wale Bakare
yeah Yeah, you're right. and And it's funny, you know, For for a lot of the players, particularly Mateta, Eze, their success means Palace fans are really scared whether someone might be coming for them. and you know There's been talks about some teams looking at Mateta, but we'll see how it goes. It might not necessarily be Manchester United or some of the teams that have been mentioned, but you know there there will be teams that will be having some money to spend. Brentford, after selling Mbemo, maybe Wisa, maybe if they do, you know Wolves might get some money from Cunha as well.
00:28:52
Wale Bakare
So there will be other teams you know around Palace looking to get... And Mateta is... You know, it's proven to be someone who understands the Premier League. It had a slow start, but it's been back-to-back seasons of, you know good goalscoring. Yes, it's had the odd injuries and all.
00:29:08
Wale Bakare
As you mentioned, if he's played, you know, more than he's played, probably we would be talking about him in the same, you know, getting the same number of goals as maybe Chris Wood and even Brandon Brembo and brown won the likes. But, oh, he's had a great season as well.
00:29:24
Global Sports Podcast Network
yeah Yeah, exactly. Well, I couldn't think of any better way to end the ah season's podcasting from our point of view than chatting about the brilliance of John-Philippe Mateta.
00:29:38
Global Sports Podcast Network
So I think we'll wrap it up there. That's all from us for the next few weeks, I believe.
00:29:45
Wale Bakare
