Secret Episode Recording

00:00:22
Speaker
There we go. Recording on. We're doing it. Good morning. Good afternoon and good evening, ladies, gentlemen, non-binary folks. This universe is known and unknown. This is role players and welcome to a special little secret episode. We're recording. Cass isn't here. Not that she didn't want to be, but she's sleeping. Um, so I've got Justin and I have Adrian here with me for something. Hi, gentlemen. It's party.

Prequel Series Planning

00:00:46
Speaker
Um, so we are going to be doing essentially like a little prequel, uh, series, maybe one episode, maybe two or three. I don't know yet. We're just going to kind of wing it. Um, we're going to do a little origin story, so to speak of Ostrom and cutter when they had met and, uh, signed up with a gang that ultimately led to what would become the villain of season three phony express. So this should be interesting.
00:01:15
Speaker
So we're just winging it from here on out, say for like a few bullet points that I remember and that I have written in front of

Character Introduction: Ostrom

00:01:20
Speaker
me. But other than that, we're just going to it's going to be more role play heavy than anything, but we'll see what happens. You boys ready? I am ready. All right. Now, before we get started, Adrian, can you please for people who may have jumped into Phony Express maybe later and haven't gotten to hear season one yet or maybe just missed episode one entirely? You want to you want to tell everybody who Ostrom is and what his deal is?
00:01:43
Speaker
As far as I remember Ostrom, he was a scaly boy, like he was around like 12th size or something, I tell you, he was a little guy. And he had like scales on his body. He lived in a like close to a lake, I think. Oh, yeah.
00:02:00
Speaker
And he prefers to use his two battle axes instead of using firearms. And he's a bit of a dick and a criminal. He's a bit of a dick.
00:02:21
Speaker
Sometimes with the way with your German accent, Adrian words that otherwise wouldn't be as funny to me in other instances or funny when I hear it from you. I remember in the one episode that he was in, he stole some cake and that was pretty evil. He did. He was all about like, oh, was that, oh, man, was that Chase's wife he stole that from? Yes. Yeah, we haven't seen them in a long time or Chase. I don't remember what he sounds like. Oh, my goodness. I haven't thought about Chase in so long. Yeah. But they were fond of wrestling.
00:02:50
Speaker
Yeah, Chase's wife, she was like working in the Muddy House at some point, I think, for Cutter. I think was sending money for Cutter, right? Pretty sure that's where she was. Huh, we'll have to revisit that. We'll have to do like a whole other miniseries about just like their wrestling empire that they do. That would be kind of fun, actually. Just do like a little extended universe thing where just like different people show up to wrestle at their like at their events and shit.
00:03:15
Speaker
That'd be pretty wild. We'll talk about later.

Setting: Thorn Tusk

00:03:17
Speaker
We'll talk about later. But that's funny. Hey, listen. Hey, listeners, if you want to hear that, let us know. OK. Fun and sellers dot com slash. Holy shit. I did forget I was recording. OK, that's what I was associated for a little while there. Yeah. Sorry about that, gang. Anyway, so we are. What did we say that we were going to be? Thornthust. Oh, so we're in the far west to the south of the biggest mountain range of Montana.
00:03:45
Speaker
Um, which I don't know if we have a name for those mountains. Um, but, uh, huh? Somebody does somewhere in reality. Hopefully somebody has a name for those. I don't know. We just put those on our maps. I don't know if those mountains are actually there in real mass made this. She was baked. Who knows? Yeah, there's like a big lake, like a big fucking a massive lake like in the middle of one of these mountains. So I'm really curious if we ever explore that thing. Think the only geographical accuracy she did was Dickey Lake because she thought that was funny.
00:04:13
Speaker
Yeah, we thought that was a funny name. All right. So you guys are south is the biggest mountain range in Montana, a town called Thorn Tusk. We'll say that you boys had met through.

Life at the Logging Mill

00:04:26
Speaker
I believe you said you guys were working at like a sawmill or a logging mill or a logging contract somewhere. Yeah, we both needed work. You're trying to cut it. You're trying to get money for your mall.
00:04:37
Speaker
Awesome just trying to get a dollar. Trying to buy some booze. Trying to buy some booze. That's his life. Booze and pie. Booze and cake. Yes. We can all agree on it. Yeah. So you guys are, let's say that you guys wrapped up doing some logging up there in the northern forest. And you guys both meet up at, I don't know, what's a bar or pub that you guys would probably be hanging out at?
00:05:05
Speaker
The crooked tusk The crooked tusk yes, they got it. They got a old bent up tusk on the above the door All right, you're at the you're at the crooked tusk you guys are hanging out in there Do you guys usually sit at the bar? Do you guys get a table? We'll be a little table
00:05:23
Speaker
You guys got a little table. Cutter, who usually comes by

Visit to Crooked Tusk Bar

00:05:28
Speaker
to serve you guys? Oh, there's no service here. You got to go to the bar and ask for your drink. All right. Who's working the bar right now? There's a gentleman. He's balding of head.
00:05:42
Speaker
odor and his appearance. He has one hand as a hook. His name is Sloppy Patrick.
00:05:57
Speaker
What's not for making his sloppy joes here at the place a sloppy Patrick like more of a jovial guy He's kind of a rough-and-tumble kind of dude like what's his personality usually like the name of thorn tusk You think this place is hard and a lot of people are but old sloppy. What are they even Patrick? Oh Patrick, he's a he's a having funniest fun having this guy. He loves everybody He's just he's a treasure of a man Okay
00:06:24
Speaker
So you're going to walk up to go see Sloppy Patrick to go get what are you getting a sloppy to two whiskers, please. Oh, everybody's silence. If all five speak quiet, a tennis speaking.

Closure of Logging Company

00:06:38
Speaker
Cutters here, everyone. All right. Hey, got her. Hey, buddy. Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey. Tell me tell me again what you want. I was too busy cheering you on and I heard nothing go to with me and me and I just got done with the
00:06:52
Speaker
Logging up the road there, they kind of did as much as we could, I guess. They called it all off. Going to get some drinks to rest our bones. Give me also some sausages. Oh yeah, he wants a couple sausage plates too, if you wouldn't mind. Oh, I don't mind at all. Can you remind me what the name of that login plate you guys are working at? Because sometimes some fellows come through here looking for work and I never know where to send them.
00:07:19
Speaker
Well, it's dried up now, but it was a Johnny Wise Cleef's logging company. Johnny Wise Cleef's logging company? Yeah. What do you mean it's all dried up? I mean, I guess there's like stipulations you can't, we like, we cleared all, I mean, you got to see the hill up there. It used to be all green and covered and now it's all brown and there's stumps everywhere, but we can't, we can't do too much apparently. We got about like a
00:07:44
Speaker
I don't know, what do you think it was, like 2000 trees? More? I don't know, there's a lot of trees. I think so, yeah. Apparently you can't do too many though, because they're starting to put laws and plays, you know, can't deforestate. This is the wild west over here, they say out there in the east, I heard. You know, we do what we want. Yeah, I mean trees. Why have trees if we're not going to cut them? You know what I'm saying? Best houses for birds, but we need a house for people.
00:08:08
Speaker
Yeah, they're barking up the wrong tree. Well, I mean, it's it is. It is sad. So, you know, a little deer we saw running around, we got there. Now they're all confused. Where do we go?

Shady Opportunities Discussed

00:08:17
Speaker
So I kind of get it. But either way, whiskey and sausage. Yeah, you got it. I'll bring it over to you guys. You know, it's a little bit of a slow day today. I always wait for the big logging crew to come in. But it looks like you guys got a short staff up there. No, no, no, not taken. Yeah, most of us boys cleared out old Jeff and Pete.
00:08:38
Speaker
Whizzly Joe, man. Gonna miss those boys. Right, Osram? Osram? You gonna miss those boys? Whizzly Pete? Whizzly Joe? Right, yeah, yeah. I was like, in my thoughts, I was just thinking of something. He's always in his thoughts and his feelings, that one. Hey, me too. Back to writing in my journal.
00:08:59
Speaker
I see. Well, hey, don't forget them sausages. Don't get too, too righty there. Oh, no, you're right. Yeah, I'll bring them over. You know, I'm going to chuck them like I always do. I think I'm going to call you. I'm going to start calling you righty. I see you writing all the time. Oh, hey, you know, you know, ironically, I'm a lefty. All right. I'm going to sit down. I'm tired. I sit down. All right. So you're back at your table with Oscar while he's cooking up your sausages over there. Yeah.
00:09:25
Speaker
And I say to Azir, man, that was a long time of work and we didn't get too much. I was told that'd be some lucrative stuff there, but I barely made enough to get by to live, let alone send back to my mall. You know, if you're really desperate for money, I might know some people that can get us more money. Oh, it's not them bellend boys again. You know, they do have some like interesting work for us. Man, I
00:09:55
Speaker
Yeah, I never did nothing wrong with it. I mean, I don't want to hurt nobody. I don't know. It will be like a hurt you thing. You just need to like grab something and we get some money. It's like real easy. I mean, as long as it ain't taken from nobody, it needs badly or, you know, maybe just some rich folks in there.
00:10:14
Speaker
Yeah, or something. I don't know. Yeah, because I felt like some rich British lady that coming through our parts. Oh, well, why don't you tell me? She's not even an American. She's not even American. So it would be even less of a crime to do that. Don't you know, does she even have rights being British? I mean, they're the ones we like.
00:10:40
Speaker
We declared independence from them, so I mean, what are you even doing here? Yeah, exactly. So, you're done to do this with me? I guess that's not as bad, I suppose. Okay, let's go meet up the guys after we had our drinks.

Journey to Cruelty Alley

00:11:00
Speaker
All right, all right. You hear from across the way over at the bar here?
00:11:05
Speaker
Lights in coming! And then like he takes his little hook and like starts fucking like whipping your sausage plates over there at you. I think, thanks, almost took the skin off my nose on that one. I want to roll the agility roll. Yeah, do an agility roll, see if you can catch it. That's a minus too. You fucking, your sausage plate shatters like right in front of you and all your, all your
00:11:27
Speaker
The color catches his with attend us from us, or I think maybe you forget to put your blades away, your axe or something, and you shatter the fucking plate as your sausages go rolling on the floor. No, I think I was just distracted and I'm like, oh, what the fuck, dude? Why did you throw my sausages on the ground? Because that's what we do, dude, because we say that here dude ranch. And I like to get like the broken pieces and like throw it at like a sloppy, sloppy Pete.
00:11:56
Speaker
I don't know what Slappy Pete is. I know Slappy Patrick. Patrick. Yeah, I forgot the name. Hey, come on. You're going to get it in your drink as he's like trying to like hook over your your your whiskeys as he as he lays them down. So what are you boys getting up to today? Oh, nothing. Nothing. How about you? Oh, you know, I'm I'm currently writing a short story that I'm hoping to get published sometime in the near future.
00:12:26
Speaker
Uh, so that's what I'm doing. Yeah. You know, I like to write stories. You guys, you guys like writing stories? You guys ever read stories? No, not really in a pick of a reader. Me neither. Oh, that's okay. You know, I hear that that's kind of like a thing that people are starting to do more. So, you know, I'm trying to stay on top of it. Uh, I'm trying to write a story about, uh, you know, this might sound a little bit silly, but you know, like to inspire kids, um, about like not giving up. It's about like a train that has a hard time like going up a hill.
00:12:56
Speaker
Yeah, sounds kind of fun. Yeah, I don't know what to call it yet, but, you know, I'm working on it. Well, maybe I'll read it one day. Yeah, I'm thinking like the tiny train that struggled or something. I don't know. I'm figuring out. Yeah, I'll get there. I'll get there. But anyway, you know, I'm going to go back to working on that. Anyone can do what you can, Righty. I'll take it. Maybe I can help you publish the book once you have it written.
00:13:25
Speaker
Oh, yeah, that'd be really cool. I would love to know people start reading it sometimes. Yeah, don't fall for that.

Entering the Gang's World

00:13:30
Speaker
Also, because you're coming to publish in the book is the trees we chopped down is going to be paper one day. Yes, exactly. You know, is that how paper is made? Yeah, I don't know how they edit. I think they have beavers chewed up. I'm just kidding. I don't know. You guys have beavers over there at the Simone Biles Logging Company, whatever you call this. No, they take our jobs and such a bitches. The beavers are taking our jobs.
00:13:56
Speaker
Beavers are taking our work. I can see I can see awesome leading like a whole fucking siege against like a group of beavers like this. Sons of bitches are trying to ruin our jobs. He comes back covered in beaver belts. And then I can sell them and you can sell them. All right, so. So it's a little bit later in the day, you guys finished your your eight hour shift at the logging company at.
00:14:23
Speaker
So what are you going to do with the rest of your night? Are you going to head over to where you want to go to meet this gang you were talking about? Awesome. Or do you guys want to sleep in the morning? I think we should do that by night because it's like shady business. So you guys are going to head out pretty soon? What was that, Cutter? I said, oh, we're going to ride out and meet them in the evening then. Yeah, let's do it. It's better sooner than later. All right. All right. Yeah, get it over with, I suppose.
00:14:52
Speaker
So you guys head eastward. I don't really know where in what direction, but it's probably would be like in a dark alley at least to like door and the door is like a bunch of like shady people standing around like arrows. Perhaps in a place called cruelty alley. I'm going to be able to alley where these people are hanging out. All right. So you guys head eastward past a small forest.
00:15:22
Speaker
Maybe you have her eye on that because there's more logging opportunities there. It's not quite as big as the one you're in But more trees to be chopped Do you guys talk about anything on the way is it a silent ride do you sing any songs about karks? What's your ride look like? What's your favorite song from childhood cutter? Row row your boat. I always liked that one Okay, I really like the song about that ducks and the beavers
00:15:52
Speaker
I ain't never heard it. Need a half-eye. I just made it up. Oh, you're going to sing me a line or two of it? What's it like for you son of a bitch? Maybe in your next life. All right. How would you do that, you son of a gun? OK. Have you heard the water about the ducks and the beavers? No, me either. All right. So you guys ride out having a wonderful talk about that, I suppose.
00:16:21
Speaker
Um, and then you guys approach, um, cruelty alley. It's kind of like essentially just like a little.
00:16:31
Speaker
A little kind of hidden town amongst the mist where there's like some kind of just a couple of small tropings, croppings of trees and just a lot of like kind of disheveled looking buildings as you guys enter like a big gate. It's kind of made of also like old shitty wood that probably hasn't been kept or rebuilt in quite some time. It just looks like an old defunct town that people were run out of and then just like maintenance just stopped.
00:16:58
Speaker
So it's pretty, pretty run down. I think the people there probably like it that way. Who knows? Ostrom, where do you take, where do you take Cutter to meet these people you want on the meet? I take them to one of the many shady looking buildings and I knock on the door and that's like a, so you pass what I need to say.
00:17:22
Speaker
Huh? You're like you hear someone just kind of speak so like a very clear like punch hole through the door and he just kind of like puts his mouth down. But he goes, well, it's the best word. Cubicle. That was yesterday's password was today's password.
00:17:42
Speaker
Mm. Circle. That's tomorrow's password. What's today's password? I mean, I was really at three tries, I bet. What did you say was the password? Triangle. Hang on, let me confer.
00:18:01
Speaker
Yeah, that's the password. Come on in. OK. And you see this big muscly arm reaches to the hole that's punched through the door and then reaches to the knob and turns it for you and opens it.
00:18:16
Speaker
Um, and you open it up and what do you see in there? Awesome. What's, what's this place usually look like? Um, they have like their own little like bar that's like in there and a couple of barrels that they use as tables. And, um, like some like kind of in the game area where they can do like some like cards and dice and shit. Yeah. Okay.
00:18:42
Speaker
So, yeah, are there a lot of people in here that's relatively sizable establishment for people? I mean, I think around like eight or nine people or something like that. Eight or nine people. All right. Who's the guy that opened the door for you? Who's usually the doorman? The doorman is Brick Peterson. Did you say Brick Peterson? Yes.
00:19:07
Speaker
I brick brick Peterson swings the door open as you walk in and you see all the things that you described that you saw. He goes, Remind me your name again. What was that? Remind me your name again. Oh, my name's also and this is also. OK, yes, I was going to say, I don't remember this guy. Now that I get a better look at you, I do remember a little dwarven scaly boy. How could I forget you?
00:19:35
Speaker
Don't really worry about him. He's like with me and we are like here to do like a job. All right. Well, he's going to have to go through process and otherwise we can't let him work here. We got to make sure he ain't a cop. That's fine. I'll just head inside and meanwhile.
00:19:50
Speaker
Right. What's the name? And the big beef is big beefy boy with like a black leather vest on and no shirt underneath it. Gut kind of hanging over his belt. Kind of looks down at you. He's a very sizable guy. He's like, what's the name again? Playing off what? Maverick, I remember. Gosh, we just did whatever he asked him. What was that filler? I said. What's your name again? Sorry, come again.
00:20:20
Speaker
I see ya. What's your name again? Oh, Cutter. Oh, Tool. Cutter. Oh, Tool. Uh-huh. Alright, what's your business? Why you here? Um, needing to make some money. Right, ain't we all? Yeah, probably. You a cop?
00:20:41
Speaker
No. All right, go ahead in then. All right, thanks. Do love how secure his place is. Good process. And that's why they put me at the door. Most people don't think to lie to a big boy like me. Did a fine job there, feller. What? Huh? Huh? I'll leave it. Hey, Austin, I made it.
00:21:11
Speaker
That's good. Then let's head and find Tommy. All right, Tommy. All right. So you guys had in the back pass where there's a couple of guys playing cards on the barrel tables that you described. And there's a little back room and there's a guy standing there with a with a double barrel shotgun, just kind of like, you know, kind of like half dozed off, leaned up against the wall between him and the door. And he's like,
00:21:41
Speaker
I let him call back, I punched him against the knee. That's just how I breathe, I have a breathe, I promise. What the fuck was that for? Yeah, who the fuck are you? I'm Osprem, the guy who just punched me in the knee. I'm gonna shoot you, one of these days. You're gonna take a shotgun to the face. I mean, there's chances that will happen, but not today. Okay, whatever. What are you gonna talk to Tommy for?
00:22:12
Speaker
We're here for the raid shop that he's, like, wanting to do. Yeah, we need some more bodies to get shot at. I mean, so far I've avoided doing that, so I'll take my chance on that. All right, whatever. I suppose that that Brick Peterson screened your fellow here. Yeah, yeah, he's fine. All right. Hey, Brick. Yeah, let's go. And then he opens the door for you.
00:22:43
Speaker
And you walk in, right? You walk in. Yeah. And then as you go to walk in cutter, the this fellow is sleeping up against the wall, kind of puts the puts the gun barrel between you and Ostrom, kind of like as like a little gate for a second. It says, we're not a cop. Oh. All right, go ahead. And he loves the he loves the gun up and let you walk through with Ostrom. He says, he's not a gun.
00:23:12
Speaker
Yeah, I know. I already asked him. And then you kind of hear him like, you kind of hear him like, yeah, he's not a gun. They start. They start. Do you hear them like bickering as the door shuts behind you? Now, what does Tommy Felix look like? Awesome. Tommy Felix looks like a guy of a lot of hair and an eye patch and like a coat.
00:23:40
Speaker
He's got an eye patch and he's got real long hair. Yes. He's like the anti maverick. Yes. How would you describe Tommy Felix's demeanor? What do you think he's doing when you walk in? Because I don't know anything about Tommy Felix, except that he has a gang. I like to think he's always got a deck of cards. He's always shuffling like a fidget spinner. I actually have a deck of cards in front of me. I'll try to see if it picks up on the mic and really give it some
00:24:10
Speaker
really give it some, uh, we already, we're going to also, he's, he's got, he's got the very, uh, you know, tough looking in the gang leadership sort of thing he's got going on. Oh my God, don't do that.
00:24:23
Speaker
I was like, you got to edit that out. Put the timestamp 24%. Was it really? Yeah, it was abrupt too. I think the cards flew against Carter's face. Careful with him, feller. You got to practice your two-card pickup now. 24 minutes cards. I imagine he's like, he's one of those guys, he looks all tough and scary and then he talks, he's like, hi there fellas.
00:24:51
Speaker
How's that? Can you guys hear that? Yeah. Yeah. He's just he's just he's like doing like the the bridge shuffle like on his knees and then do like a little quick like hand shuffle. He looks up. He kind of like clears us. And he kind of hawks like a big old loogie on the floor. And he goes and he goes, hey, boys, what do you need?
00:25:16
Speaker
You need more people for a chop to like raid our wagon. Was that Cutter trying not to laugh? Yeah. I'm sorry. What was that? What did it mean? You're here for a chop. Of course you're here for a chop. Why else would you be here? Yeah. That's like Mickey Mouse. He's public domain. Steve Matt Willy's public domain.
00:25:45
Speaker
I just want to see my Willy though. I said Steamboat Willy is probably the thing. So what do you say? You want to get on the British job, do you? In the British shop, yeah. Because it's British. Yeah. Who's your friend behind you? That's the guy who worked with me at the lumber mill. He's an alright guy. Are you a cop? No.
00:26:09
Speaker
All right, hang on a second. He kicks the fucking door open. He's not a cop, boys. Oh yeah, I knew that already. I ain't a gun neither. He's not a gun. He's not a gun. All right, he's not a gun. OK, fine. Thanks for the door. Thanks, Ronald Reagan. That's kind of what I'm going for. I just realized I kind of have a Ronald Reagan voice or no, not a Ronald Reagan, but is it Ronald Reagan now?
00:26:37
Speaker
Who am I thinking? I have no idea. Who's the president that does that? Richard Nixon. Richard Nixon. That's right. Ronald Reagan's are like, ah, ah, ah, ah. That's where Ronald Reagan. Nixon. Yeah. Richard Dick Nixon. But, um, yeah, so it's almost like Dixon. It is like Dixon. Hi, Dixon. Um, so, uh, yeah. So he says, so you want to get on the British job,

Planning the Stagecoach Heist

00:27:01
Speaker
do you? I.
00:27:04
Speaker
And also I. And you? And he points the cutter. Yep. All right. Now I can't I can pay you a small wage now, but it's not until I can sell the medication that I could make the big bucks for all of us. I mean, that sounds fair. Just don't swindle me like last time. What are you even talking about?
00:27:29
Speaker
You know, the one time I like threatened that guy for you and then I need to wait like a month for a payment. I don't know what you're talking about. I would never do such a thing to anybody in my life. Sure. Then can we just go to like the like briefing of the like coming like job? You want to do the briefing to the coming? Yes.
00:27:57
Speaker
I mean, I suppose, but I'm the guy that runs it. So I mean, I suppose I can get to the meeting now if you want. I mean, time is money, if you didn't know that. No, time is not money. Time is time. Time is seconds. Time is minutes. Time is hours. Time is not money. I don't even know what that means. You know what I mean? I prefer to think it's money than like pennies. I like this guy. That's not a cop. You're cool with me, Cutter. Did you tell me your name?
00:28:22
Speaker
Yeah, well, I did. I'm just really good at, you know, profiling people and you look like I cut it to me. All right, so here's the deal. And oh, hang on a second. And he kicks the door and he goes, all right, if you're part of the British job, get the fuck in here. And like a clown car, like five guys can find it out of nowhere. Five guys ride in on one horse and then jump off his leg right in here.
00:28:49
Speaker
Um, he says, all right, Tex, babe, Tex, too. Babe, too. Jonathan, this is kind of how do you know? Awesome. And they're all like, how do you have that? And they all kind of come and crowd in this like little room and he kind of puts a little map on like a like a what do you call those?
00:29:18
Speaker
those, like, wire, coil, you know what I'm talking about? Like, you can flip these fucking, like, big spoi- uh, sp- that spoi- spoils spool- spools? Those big spool things over and turn them into a table, you know what I'm talking about? Yeah. Giant- a giant spool. Yeah, just like a giant spool. And I guess that's what it's called. And he, like, flips one of those over, had, like, a shit ton of rope on it, and he flips it over and turned it into a table. And he puts a map on there.
00:29:42
Speaker
And he starts he starts pointing around on the map and he kind of like takes like a little quill pen and just like kind of like scribbling shit all over it. And then he says, all right, boys, here's the deal. There's a lady who's going to be driving through here. She's got an expensive medication. We got to go out. She's just north of doodad. We're going to go and knock it over, take the medication from her, and then we're going to sell it to the black market for hundreds of thousands of dollars.
00:30:09
Speaker
Sounds like a lucrative job. I'm down for that. It's incredibly lucrative. And I'm going to send a bunch of you boys there because I've got some loyal guys here and I don't want anybody to do anything shitty. If somebody goes and tries to take this on me, I swear to God, I'll send bounty hunters after you for the rest of your life till I find you. I'll cut off your testicles. I'll peel your testicles like an onion. Yikes. How do you know I even have testicles?
00:30:32
Speaker
Oh, I will look for them. And if I can't find any, if I can't find any, I'll peel something else like an onion. I really like peeling onions. I guess I'll know your birthday present, then. I know your birthday present is going to be a peeled testicle. Tasty. Maybe. I don't know yet. Look at a dry one. What do you say, Cutter? How do you feel? It's all right by me, I suppose, as long as we get some good money out of it. You're looking real soft. Why are you here?
00:31:02
Speaker
What's wrong with you? You've never done crime before? Yeah, you're talking. Look at my goddamn- Hey, you see this? My hand is one giant callus. I've been cutting trees for nine months, you son of a bitch. I've been lugging them. I'll take you back out with that spool, you son of a gun. Well, see, that's the kind of fire we need. You looked a little tame before. That's what we need for jobs like this.
00:31:23
Speaker
Well, I mean, I'm just, I don't want to be all a funny man around here, but, you know, taking medicine that doesn't feel quite right to me, but I mean, you know, I'm assuming you're going to sell it to somebody who's going to give it to somebody else who needs it, so I mean, somebody's going to get it, I imagine. Exactly, yeah. It's totally fine. Somebody's going to get it? I don't know what for or where it's going. All I know is that I'm going to get a hefty price for it. I couldn't care less if they injected it into their testicles and peel it. What's this feller in testicles? That would be a helping meal.
00:31:55
Speaker
Yeah, so... So, I was just saying, you can't be soft on this cutter. You gotta be hard. As hard as you can be. Alright. Don't be a little bitch, boy. I ain't ever been one of them. You shut up. I was gonna say, you're looking a little timid, you're a little pale in the face. You don't look like you could hurt a flea. You're starting to rile me, feller. What, are you thin-skinned or something? You know... Hey, I know no man gonna call me no thin-skinned. You son of a bitch, I ain't thin-skinned.
00:32:24
Speaker
I have a great idea. How about we have a short boxing match to like see how able-bodied like the people are?

Proving Ground: Cutter's Fight

00:32:34
Speaker
Oh, yeah, for sure. I'm going to absolutely have kind of fight one of my toughest boys. Well, hey, wait, wait, hold on here. Tell me, was it you talk all this? Tell me I'm a sophomore. I mean, you do it. You're the biggest man around here. I bet.
00:32:47
Speaker
Oh, yeah, but I just got my manicure, so I don't want to mess it up. Oh, whatever, whatever, Dan Feller, yeah. You know how expensive it is to get one of these so my hands look pretty? No, I don't. Well, it's a lot. My hands look like this, or something that hopefully one nice lady's hands won't look like this, won't look like yours. Well, if you ever want to see my hands later, you can ask. But first, we box. Not me, but someone else. On my behalf. Not a kind of my manicure. All right.
00:33:16
Speaker
What do you think I do, crime, because I don't want to have nice things? No. Well, you know, you get enough money, maybe you'll get a manicure. Maybe you'll appreciate it. Maybe. I always wanted to get a nice facial hair. Well, I mean, you don't really need money to grow facial hair, but... I mean, I want a nice, you know, like a nice style. And like right now, you know, I'm just trying to shave it all off because it just gets all messy.
00:33:40
Speaker
Yeah, I mean, I suppose that could be good or something, you know? Well, you might look like this bounty hunter I saw flying around here earlier. Don't want to give it the wrong idea. Don't want to make it look too nice. I didn't know that was like a mustache of office. Well, whatever. Either way, who I got a punch. All right. Go go fight text two over there. Text two.
00:34:02
Speaker
I take. Hey, buddy. Hey, hey, what's up, man? Hey, your new guy around here and he can't like put his arm around. He gives you a little nugget. Hey, guys. I heard we're going to box. You want to you want to do a quick little one to buckle my shoe? Just want to make sure that your medals is good.
00:34:19
Speaker
Yeah, feller, I start to take my bandolier off and unbutton my shirt. He slugs you as you're taking off your shirt. Good job, Connor. You got this. Bro, I throw one at him. My fist, that is. And go ahead and roll a fighting roll to see how you do. 17. Oh, shit. Right in your nose. Roll like, just roll like your whatever your strength damage roll, like your most immediate and melee damage roll would be. That makes sense. Strength.
00:34:45
Speaker
Yeah, plus, like, an extra d6, because you definitely rolled above and beyond what you need to do. Well, I'll roll strength twice as both as d6. Oh, so 10, brother. Well, you knock his ass straight the fuck down onto his ass. You knock his ass onto his ass. He's like, whoa, hey, whoa. Oh, wow. Ah. Ah.
00:35:06
Speaker
Boxing is sucker punching. That's all that is. I've seen some fellers do some real stuff. I know what you just did there. He throws dirt in your eyes while you're talking. He tries to tackle you to the ground. What do you do? I guess I'm just too busy like rubbing my face. He tackles you up against one of the barrels and it kind of tips over.
00:35:29
Speaker
And he just starts like slugging you in the kidneys over and over. He's like, that's what you get. What do you do? I want to buck him over my head. I do it. Do it. Do it. Do an athletics role to see if you can check him over your over your 19. Wow. Holy. You said you said him onto the barrel that you guys tipped over and he like you hear like his back crack and he goes, ah.
00:35:49
Speaker
Oh, that felt good. Oh, oh shit. I want to hurry up and scramble up, pick him by the scruff of his shirt. He should have taken his shirt off because that's why he grabbed somebody. That's why I took mine off. And I'm going to clobber him right across the jaw. All right. Roll me one more fight and roll. See if you can finish the job. Ten. Damn, you're rolling high. Yeah, dude, you fucking slug him and he goes, all right, give, give. Ah, shit.
00:36:11
Speaker
He like stumbles over. He's like leaning across the bar, the little makeshift bar they got. And he just kind of like pulls out a whiskey, just starts like pouring it all over his mouth and his face. Like, oh, God. I yank it from him. I drink it from him. I suppose that's fair. You did win. Yeah, I did. Keeping in mind that neither did I use nefarious tactics, but I also bested nefarious tactics.
00:36:36
Speaker
Okay, whatever. You're a good boy. You're darn good. I mean, not trying to say it's trying to say like, I'm better good or better fighting is I'm trying to say not that I'm gooder than him for not doing it. I'm just saying beat him when he was being tricksy with me. Okay. Okay. Okay. Using too many words, too many words. We get it. Jesus.
00:36:59
Speaker
Well, you said, uh, Oscar. I like to go over to Carter and I give him a slap on the thigh and said, a good job, Carter. That's your thigh. Thanks. Thanks, sir. I kind of can't reach his shoulder. Just because you're so short. Yes. I redress myself. Thanks. You're a good filler.
00:37:25
Speaker
See, text two comes over and he puts his arm back around you and puts another beer in your hand. He's like, you're all right with me, man. Oh, my God. That was like, oh, man, you got some steel knuckles for a softy. Damn, you ain't kidding. You got them. You got them callous fists away. Cool with the softy crap. All right. Come on. Oh, sorry. I thought that's what we were calling it. It's old softy cutter over here, guys. It's not the cutter. Just the name of cutter is fine. If you want to call me anything. I don't know. I kind of want to see.
00:37:56
Speaker
What are you saying? All softy? He got this name because he was the guy who like cut the most trees. That's why he's cutter. Oh, he's a truck. Oh, okay. All right. I mean, I thought softy was kind of cool, but I guess.
00:38:10
Speaker
I guess so. Man, name origin stories. It's like when they found out how Han Solo got his name in that one shitty movie that bought Han Solo. It turned out, it turned out that he just really liked going solo. I cut them down. He was buying something stupid. But yeah, I cut trees. That's why they call me Cutter. I did the tree cutting camp. Of all the tree cutters, I was called Cutter.
00:38:35
Speaker
It was probably one of those things, too, where, like, Cutter was having a hard time and awesome to do with, like, a thousand axes. And he goes, I just say you did it. And they're like, oh, hey, look at old Cutter over here cutting out all the trees. I like it. All right, so so you proved yourself so.
00:38:57
Speaker
You kind of get the plan like you kind of get in like a little bit of like just to kind of summarize, just to kind of skip to it. Essentially, Felix tells you guys, all right, look, there's this there's a stagecoach is really fancy stagecoach is coming in in the early morning tomorrow. You know, that way they can still have the cover of darkness, but still get the delivery where it needs to

Stagecoach Interception Plan

00:39:19
Speaker
go. You guys are going to go intercept the delivery, take the medication from them, and if they give you any sort of hassle, just take them out.
00:39:29
Speaker
You know, you can do it clean or you can do a bloody he doesn't care. He just wants the medication brought back. That's good. Yeah, that's that's pretty much what he tells you to do. They're flying just just north of Dickey Lake between Sorbello and Dickey Lake. That's where you guys are going to go and intercept them. It's probably a few hours ride to get there on time. So you're probably going to have to head out tonight and kind of camp out and keep an eye out for when the stagecoach comes.
00:39:56
Speaker
That's essentially what the job is. How about we, like, ride to this town called Dudet, sleep, then we ride on to Dickey Lake? I don't know. I never done no crime, but I don't think we will be seen in town. You guys know that we hit Dudetown, right? Crime.
00:40:18
Speaker
I mean, they might not, but I mean, it's a couple of, I mean, I've seen this a million times before in these towns, a couple of fellows come through, something bad goes wrong, everybody thinks it was them even if it wasn't them. You know, that's some good thinking, yeah. Yeah. You see, you see, you see, you see Babe, Babe comes over and he's easily, he's a little guy too, probably just like a head above Ostrom. And he's just like, he's like,
00:40:44
Speaker
All right, listen, why don't we just go up to Jensen? I hear there's some also some, for lack of a better word, some narrative whales up there as well. So we'll be in good company. So we'll just go up to Jensen past Grand Lake. We'll hang there for maybe an hour or two just to kind of catch our bearings and do a quick sprint up to Sorbello. No harm, no foul ink. I worry about it. It's on the way. What do you think? Sounds fine to me. New credit? Good enough for me, I think.
00:41:12
Speaker
Yeah, it's not too bad. And gents and folk are real cool, like, so I wouldn't even, I mean, it's a fun town. And it got this place called Bowls Bowls Bowls up there. So if you're into like really shiny decorative bowls and or getting fucking blitzed out your goddamn mind, we can stop by there and have a party before we go. I mean, probably this sounds pretty great, but we should get some sleep before the job. Well, I'm just gonna be sleeping on my horse on the way up there. He knows how to get me where I need to go.
00:41:43
Speaker
So your horse is autopilot. That's very useful. I don't know what that word means, but yeah, sure. You know, I could just tell him where to go when he knows to get me there. Yeah. It's exactly what it is. I don't know what a pilot is. You know, I am a pilot because I can fly across the across the plane.
00:42:09
Speaker
Yeah, OK, whatever there, little guy, I don't really know what the hell you're talking about, but we should probably head on out. What you think? Yeah, yeah. All right. So you guys, so awesome cutter, babe, babe to text text to and the fact that I call the other guy really is what I call him.
00:42:28
Speaker
Probably not, but let's call him William. What did you say, Justin? I said, who knows? Fuck, I can't remember. You know what? He doesn't go. His name mischanges. Yeah, he doesn't go because he's already been forgotten. Fuck, I can't remember all what I called that guy. But yeah, so Tex, Tex, Tex, Tex two and Babe and Babe two go with you guys. OK.
00:42:50
Speaker
Um, so you guys head on out, you guys head up. Uh, do you want to talk to any of the guys or each other on your way over or probably be about from cruelty alley up to Jensen, maybe like a 30 ish minute ride. Not really. And, uh, just y'all riding silence. Nothing important talk about at least.
00:43:11
Speaker
All right. You see you see Babe on his horse. He's like already half asleep. Like as you guys saddle up, his horse is kind of like follows behind Babe to his horse who like he just kind of has a hold of like the the reins and just kind of like pulling them along so he knows where to go.
00:43:25
Speaker
Um, and you guys ride out, uh, up towards Jensen. We already know a little bit about Jensen's got the big church. It's a little bit of a, um, a little bit of a nicer town. Um, as you guys come up, uh, Bulls, Bulls, Bulls is where you guys remember being, um, is probably pushing like midnight at this point.
00:43:46
Speaker
as you guys are kind of getting settled in and everything and after your talk and your fight and everything and resting up. So what do you guys want to do in Jensen? Well, you have a little bit of time. You want to go find somewhere to sleep for a little bit, get any sort of supplies. What are you thinking? I think we should probably get some sleep before we like head off. Yeah, I'm all sleeping. Let's do that. Just going to go to the local hotel or something?
00:44:16
Speaker
All right, you guys walk in what to say that whatever transactions or intimidations need to happen so that we can kind of fast forward a bit. How long are you guys looking to sleep before you head out? You can put a wake up. Like so in time, it'd be like can write off. You didn't tell us that exact time, right? She just said that she's she's riding in somewhere like before dawn. OK.
00:44:44
Speaker
So not an exact time, but like just whatever the movement of the sun, so to speak. Are the other guys also of us at the hotel? Yep. Then I'll just say, when do you think we should get up so we can look at the end time? You're talking to babe, babe, to text or text. That's as in a crowd of people. They always kind of kind of chime in and you hear essentially just like, you know, in about two hours.
00:45:14
Speaker
Like two hours of sleep or like to get there? We're gonna head out in about two hours. You got about two hours to get your Z's catched before we head out. That's fine, yeah. Let's sleep for two hours. When you get there early before, you know, we miss this, we're all gonna, you know, old Felix is gonna fucking peel our testicles like an onion. I mean, I don't have testicles, so that's on you. Well, I still don't want my testicles peeled also.
00:45:41
Speaker
Do you? Maybe. If you had him, would you want him peeled? Probably not. Do you have a dong in those pants? You can check out if you want. He just comes over, he's like, yeah, he tries to open up your pants. What are you working with in here anyway, Als? You don't want to see my fighting spear.
00:46:08
Speaker
That's both fascinating and disturbing. I'm going to sleep. Um, cutter, do you want to do anything while you're here in Jensen or at the hotel? Um, I might just after seeing all this, I might just walk out of, uh, the, uh,
00:46:29
Speaker
Hotel and go sleep in like the forest or something. Okay. It's going to go like walk up near the woods of Jensen and just try to take a nap in the trees. Yeah. Yeah. I'm okay. I'm always going to camp out. I don't want to spend the money. I don't got no money to spend. And, uh, you guys have your discussions you're having. Yeah. Whatever, man. I mean, we got beds. I can make this, I can make this woman get you a bed for nothing. What'd you think?
00:46:58
Speaker
Uh, five, five, I guess. Yes, we're fine. And he goes, hey, you give this man a bid. He ain't going to pay you a fucking dime. You hear me? And like she's just like, yeah, OK. Yeah, sure. Whatever. Yeah. All right. You go see. And then she gives you a room key to go up and have a sleep. That's how easy that can be. All right.
00:47:27
Speaker
I let them all walk away and I go to the guy and I'm like, here's the money for my room. Rana, all right, thanks. And then as you give the money and you go to walk up the stairs, you see there's an unconscious person behind the bar with a little bit of blood coming out of their forehead. And then the person just kind of takes your money and just kind of like pockets it and then walks out the front.
00:47:53
Speaker
Oh, I go to bed. So that's a laugh of crime, I guess. So you guys. One of the other fellows wakes up, you guys probably oversleep

Rushing to Intercept

00:48:09
Speaker
a little bit. The other guys kind of wakes up. We'll say we'll say it's text who comes by and he goes, oh, God damn it. We're like, oh, shit, we're running late and starts beating on your doors. Boys, get the fuck up. Boys, get the fuck up.
00:48:21
Speaker
Um, can you hear him kind of like coming down the stairs? You'll be in time. Ah, shit, I fell down the stairs. Fuck. Oh, let's get the fuck up. I'll get up and check if he's all right. Where's old softy? Get him down here. He'll go on out there. Oh, damn. Softy, get the fuck up. Oh, damn. You got it.
00:48:45
Speaker
I like cool cut off. So he stands. No, I mean, I'm here, brother. What is the noise going on? We got to get you, man. We're going to message the stagecoach. Yeah. I had a great dream. Oh, yeah. What about? Was it worth it? I can't remember now.
00:49:01
Speaker
I want you to wake up. You can't remember it for a life here. I remember all my dreams. Well, that's very nice for you. It's not nice for me. I had a dream one time that a mouth man came and just kept shoving things in my rectum. I remember it very vividly. That's enough of your dreams. Let's go out of this town. Yes.
00:49:23
Speaker
All right, so you guys all saddle up with text text to babe babe to and you too. And and also I said you too. I meant Bono and company. Oh, yeah, Bono's there too. But he's saying, guys, every time I clap, a child dies overseas. Stop clapping.
00:49:57
Speaker
Then a stray bullet comes and takes him off his horse. So that's okay. He's not dead. He just wishes he was dead. The bullet came over and picked him off his horse. Yeah, picked him off his horse and took him into the trees. The guy named Bullet. Yeah, Bullet was there. So U6, head back, head up towards north of Dickey Lake. We'll kind of cut to that. Do you guys have any other conversations or stop for anything? Any supplies, bushes, trees, wigs? I don't know what you all need.
00:50:21
Speaker
That's right.
00:50:26
Speaker
I probably don't know, and we are also short on time. I assume we'll find a bush when we get there. I do need a good bush, but I can wait. I have a bush with me all the time. I always carry a bush. You never know when you're going to need a bush, guys. I see that bush you got down there. I wish I hadn't, but I bet you got some testicles. There's just a lot of bush down there. Yeah, it's pretty useful.
00:50:49
Speaker
So you guys head up to north of Dickey Lake, roughly where you see like there's like a little carved road where like a lot of like traffic is. It's pretty early in the morning. You hear the roosters off in the distance of store bellows starting to crow as the sun is kind of starting to crest over the horizon. And you guys, all you have left now to do is wait. Roll for waiting. I roll for waiting for. I have a 20.
00:51:19
Speaker
Wow, you're older than that 20 on a D20. I wrote a D20. I wrote a D6 for my survival. I just figured these guys cheat. I'm a roast elf.
00:51:26
Speaker
I got an 11. All right. So awesome is so good at waiting. He just sits like a fucking statue staring at the road unblinking with his axes on his belt.

Anxious Wait

00:51:40
Speaker
Just unblinking, unresponsive. I like this. I spoke my hand and I just sit there not moving. Yeah. And I screw over. Awesome. I don't know how much longer things go. I can't miss again. I'm getting antsy.
00:51:55
Speaker
I can't, I can't move. I need to wait. You can move on. We're just waiting. I screwed over the word. Text two was, I'm like, Hey Tex, how long do you think it's going to be? Sorry. I was trying to do what Austin was doing, but I'm having a hard time. How long do you think it's going to be? Fuck man. I don't know. He says sometime around dawn. Hopefully we didn't miss it because the sun's already coming up. All right. Well, yeah.
00:52:23
Speaker
Why don't you go do a little snoop around or something, man? Go do a little recon or some shit. Let us know. You're the new guy. Go do the work. Which way do I want to go? Up the road that way or down the road that way? Which way? Oh my god. If you just need to go and be able to be a pilot or whatever he said. I don't even know what he's talking about. I think he's cooked in the head. You got to learn to be a golden eagle and fly on your own, boy. Well, I mean, it is a majestic creature.
00:52:50
Speaker
It is. It's my first day doing this kind of stuff. I ain't never done this. Yo, can I tell you something, Softy, that I heard around these parts? Um, what? I heard that there is a fucking old timer riding around here catching people like us and he's got a fucking golden eagle that just pals around with him, that like takes bath with him and shit. That sounds made up. It says sound made up. It sounds like something someone would write in a book. Sounds like something that
00:53:12
Speaker
Fucking sounds like somebody who's said, hey, I want to play a silly fun character. And they was trying to make up something. They said, I'm going to make a man with a bird. That's not something somebody make up to play games. Yeah, some that's some that's some Shakespearean shit right there. I will go that far. All right. It's the only writer I know. So I guess I scoot down the hill. All right. Are you going to go for a little little look around?
00:53:35
Speaker
I guess I was getting on my horse just kind of ride up the road normally and casually and calmly. All right. Why don't you roll another stealth roll and roll a notice roll to see if. Stealth.
00:53:46
Speaker
Not very stealthy, it would seem. I'm not very noticing either. You do have Benjamins if you'd like to use them. I'm going to use both my bennies and reroll both those motherfuckers. Notice no sucks. It's got a four. Well, you got a four on your stealth. So you managed to kind of stick to the shadows that the the rising sun is creating. So you can kind of like avoid or a dip between them. But yeah, you're riding around for maybe we'll say we'll say like maybe five ish minutes because you don't want to be straight too far away from your crew.
00:54:12
Speaker
Um, uh, but yeah, you don't, you don't see anything that looks like a fancy stage coach that you know of. Uh, but I don't know how many fancy stage coaches cut her a scene to know if he knows if he's looking at a fancy stage coach. Um, I'd say you probably spot like her, like a family wagon coming up the road. Uh, maybe there's like, there's like a, there's like a mom and her kid like sitting on the front and she's the kids kind of like, like nestling, nestling, like in her lap. Um,
00:54:39
Speaker
Yeah, that's what you see. I don't know if there's going to have kids with them or not. Do you do you go back? Do you go approach? Do you just go give a recon? I guess I go back. OK, awesome. I'm still sitting like a fucking stone staring off at the at the thing. And you saw a meditation. Yeah. You see, Babe, too. Babe, too. It's just just like, hey, Brian, what'd you say?
00:55:10
Speaker
So I only see one wagon and there's like a lady and a kid on there Oh fuck is that it and he gets his knife out and starts brandishing it I didn't know if there was kids working with him or not or if they had a kid just taking a little I don't know I I mean I don't want to go stabbing new yeah come on someone's gonna have to take that kid far away so I can get to stabbing everybody else We just we just intimidate him
00:55:37
Speaker
We just do like a little like a deception. We like hold them, talk to them, see if they're the right people. And then we like start attacking them with the right people. Well, I mean, no, a friend's awesome. But like you look like a fucking monster from a dream. But there ain't nobody going to want to talk to you, especially this early in a goddamn morning. Punch me against the knee. You know, I swear to God, I will shove this up your taint if I knew you had one.
00:56:06
Speaker
You know, but I don't have one. So, do you have a better plan? Everybody's got to taint, okay? Everybody has one. I mean, I could talk to him. You got a plan? I could talk to him. See what they're about. I could talk to him. He looks nice. Alright, fine. Yeah, babe, too. Like, fucking push his cutter forward. He's like, yeah, why don't you go intercept then there, big boy? Alright, well, come on. Calm down there. No need for pushing. We're on a hill slope here. Be careful. I'm gonna fail. Who the fuck is this guy you brought with you, Alstrom? Should we just kill him, too? He don't need a cut.
00:56:34
Speaker
No, he's like an able-bodied guy. He'll be useful. I guess I'm just going to use him as a goddamn bullet sponge. Fucking ol' softy over here. Afraid of falling in some dirt. I'm already done. Yeah, so like, um, yeah, so, uh, text to like pulls you aside. Awesome. And he goes, all right, man, like, are you sure this dude's all right to be doing, you know,
00:57:02
Speaker
I don't want this shit turned sideways just because he's kind of getting combed feet. I'm sure right now he might be a little afraid of that, but I'm sure once he got his feet to bed with getting his first pair and stuff, I'm sure he'd be fully in our crew.
00:57:20
Speaker
Look, I- I- Look, I ain't- I ain't known y'all that long, and I definitely ain't known him for but a fucking minute. But like, look, if shit goes sideways, he's the first one I'm gonna leave behind. Right? I'm not gonna try to save your friend, I just want you to know that. That's fine. I got kids back home, I got a family, I'm trying to like just get this big scored and get the fuck out of here, and I ain't gonna let some little pussyfoot and yellow bastard over there get in the way of what I'm trying to do. I'm trying to just ride off into the sunset, awesome.
00:57:48
Speaker
Yeah, I'm trying to write off as well. My name and my name ain't even text or text, too. You think I want to keep being called that when I got a family back home that don't even know what that is? Hmm. I mean, that's just how these shops go. We're like all kind of on our own. So don't expect me to save you and I don't expect you to save me. Oh, I ain't looking to save anybody but my own skin. OK, I ain't friends with anybody here.
00:58:16
Speaker
Yeah, I just I just want to make sure that we're on the same page that if all yellow belly over there starts getting in some sort of trouble, he's going to be the first one that I shoot the horse of that way. He gets trampled and I can get the fuck away. Yeah. All right. I'm going to tell Felix that if it goes tits up, it's his fault. And and also vicariously, it'll be your fault to us. I mean, not if there's nobody alive to tell that there is my fault. Are you threatening me?
00:58:48
Speaker
No. What you mean ain't gonna be nobody allowed to tell him it's his, it's your fault or his fault? Yes. Are you threatening me? Yeah, it fucking sounds like a threat to me. You're looking to throw down, Oz? Maybe you should like rethink then the kind of things you're thinking. I don't know what you're talking about and you're really starting to hurt my head there, Oz.
00:59:11
Speaker
You know, just go over there, hide like a good little boy, and then we are like, rob the coach. Once you're rolling intimidation, see if you can make text to bend the knee a little bit. Intimidation. Or persuasion. I don't know if there's an intimidation. Is there an intimidation on there? There is, but I don't have it on me right now. And you have to roll an unskilled, I guess, and good luck. I mean, also the moods have intimidation.
00:59:37
Speaker
You would think you would, but I mean, you know, just roll and see what happens. Just roll. Just roll like whatever your your strength would be or something. Just to make it easier on us. That's a twelve. He's like, all right, dude. All right. Look like he sees you kind of like just like spinning your axes in your hand a little bit and his eyes are kind of like following him.
00:59:59
Speaker
And it's like, all right, look, man, I'm just saying like, I'm not trying to fight you, dude. I'm just trying to tell you the shit goes right. I'm not going to try to save your friend. OK, fuck. And he kind of turns. I told you that I'm fine with that. He turns his horse around, just kind of like starts backtracking away and just kind of like here to like fucking like stupid ass scaling little bitch, fucking little fucking fish boy.

Encounter on the Road

01:00:23
Speaker
Cutter, so you're sliding down the hill.
01:00:27
Speaker
You're going to go down and try to intercept that that little that little family wagon. So how do you do that as it comes around the bend? What do you what do you do? I just ride along. Hey there, folks. Oh, oh, you're like as like they kind of pull on the reins and like the woman kind of like puts her arms around her around her kid a little bit and kind of holds her a little tighter. She's like, yeah, can I help you?
01:00:53
Speaker
Well, I mean, it's just saying just being friendly to say hello as I pass along. He's heading up to town up there. Oh, well, I mean, well, howdy. We we've got to get going, though. I mean, my little daughter here, she's she's been out all night and would like to sleep in her own bed tonight. So I'm just trying to get her there. She can at least have a couple hours before the morning cock crows. Oh, well, you travel all night. Where are you folks coming from? Jeez, this this crazy hour is travel night. Not a couple, I hope. I wouldn't.
01:01:22
Speaker
I mean, I know. I mean, I beg your pardon, sir. I don't want to tell you too much about what's going on because we're trying to start a new life over here. But, you know, I got a little got my family in the back and, you know, it's just me and the kids and we're just trying to make a new life. OK, so with all due respect, my guy, I don't want to tell you where where I'm coming from. Oh, that's fine. That's fine. That's fine. Just be safe out there.
01:01:42
Speaker
Careful, a lot of free, strange folks take advantage of people. It'll be good luck. Yeah, thank you. We're just trying to get off the road. One of the sheriffs from the local town told me that we got to clear the roads because some fancy lady's coming through. They don't want us on the roads. They want to do a detail for these people. That sounds like those British. Let me guess, British did they say?
01:02:09
Speaker
Uh, you know what? I don't know if it was British or saying something about over a big pond or something. Um, I mean, I bet they did. And them foreign types always be trying to make, make, make, make a hard time for us. True blooded Americans. Yeah. So I had to, I had to vacate early where I was coming from just because they needed the room. Um, that ain't right. No, I agree. We put out a night that's terrible. Man.
01:02:36
Speaker
Yeah, yeah. So yeah, so with all due respect, sir, I just want to get to do you know where the closest town is? Because we've been riding a while. Well, let me tell you where we were. Yes, yes, Sorbello. You guys are like up near Sorbello and Dickey Lake. Oh, you know, I think closest downsides of Dudad down there, just down south east, west to south west. I'm sorry. OK, yeah. OK, I don't know. I've never been there myself. But is that a long ways? Because we just need a place to sleep.
01:03:05
Speaker
I mean, that's the closest town I know of. All right, fine. Yeah. All right. And like she kind of like picks her child up. She probably like four or five years old and kind of like steps back into the back. She says, please excuse me, and kind of sits her back there. She says, I just don't want anybody seeing a kid, you know, sometimes to see a kid with her mom and just think of us as easy targets. So maybe I just put them in the back for now. Yeah, it's terrible, terrible times. We live in the harsh peoples around here. Anyway, as I said, careful to you. Good luck and all that.
01:03:35
Speaker
But yeah, all right, you know, I do. I heard someone say that once. Well, you know, I just remembered. I forgot some background goes. I'm going to run down the highway, down the road, heady real quick, turn around and gallop ahead. OK, well, all right. All right. Be safe, I guess.
01:03:55
Speaker
Uh, go hurry up there and I'm like, uh, no, no, I'm like, don't, and just the family, we don't need to do no harm to them. That's not our target. They're coming though. They said they clearing the road for making a whole scene. They see babe and babe two are like, they're like kind of like brandishing their big ass, like fucking Bowie looking knives. I was like, Oh good. I did not. I did not want to.
01:04:15
Speaker
It's all right. It's all right. And the other one starts patting their back like, it's all right. You ain't got a you don't got to scare no kid today. And like you see, you see like the biggest one of you guys is like a little bit of a tear going down his face. Like, I just, you know, I'm just not ready for that. Yeah. So I'm, you know, kind of working my way through it. So I don't I mean, I will if I have to. I just don't want it. You know, that's fair. That's fair. It's fine. Let's just wait out for the real thing. They said they're coming through information. Yeah.
01:04:45
Speaker
Let's keep waiting. Do you relay anything else to them or do you just wait a little bit longer until the stagecoach shows up? That's it. I'm just going to wait now. All right. We'll say probably like another maybe 15, 20 minutes passes. You see some of the guys are kind of getting getting a little way into you, starting to pace a little bit like by on the ridge where you all are waiting. Oh, that's what you do all the time when you discuss it is so boring. Do you have some playing cards with you?
01:05:12
Speaker
I ain't got nothing like that, Maverick. It's a slip of the tongue. I heard I heard it's that the urban legend to that. You fuck I named Maverick. No, I never tell you, baby. No, I heard. I heard that's the I heard that's that legendary bounty hunter story about the guy who fucks that eagle or whatever. Oh, all right. Well, interesting. I thought it was pretty graphic.
01:05:41
Speaker
I mean, hey, man, you were a fucking eagle. You fucking eagle, I suppose. Yeah. I heard. I heard that. I heard that it's not just eagles that he that he wants to put his his waiter in. What kind of things that you want. Can we all please change the subject? We don't need to talk about doing animals. OK. No, we don't need to talk about no bounty hunters. What he

Stagecoach Approaches

01:06:03
Speaker
wants to do and not do. We all know what we all want to do is keep it to ourselves.
01:06:09
Speaker
Everybody here has thought about putting their thing in something they ain't been putting it in once. We all seen a not holding a tree covered with sap. We thought maybe that'd be something fun to do, but now we thought against it. Better judgment. Think of the ants. Think of the, I think of the ants in his room. I was telling him right there, I love him.
01:06:27
Speaker
One time I was swimming in a lake and it was a really sexy looking fish over there. What'd that mouth do? Yeah, but let's just wait for this dang old thing to come along and do our deed and get the heck out of here. All right, why don't you both roll another notice roll. I'm doing good on them suckers. I got 11 this time. I got two. Oh, that was too easy. Make sure he doesn't move.
01:06:54
Speaker
Yeah, he's like, he's still kind of like, I can't move my eyes. I want my soul to look straight ahead. Yeah. I'm on toes. They are pretty weird looking. He's like looking for ants. The ants. I have ants on my toes.
01:07:11
Speaker
Cutter, you see off in the distance over the ridge from the from the hill y'all are kind of rested on. You see this like really pretty black stagecoach pulled by two very beautiful black and white horses.
01:07:26
Speaker
Um, uh, you see, it's a, it's a very shiny, very sleek. Uh,

Debate Over Attack Strategy

01:07:32
Speaker
you see that there's a couple of fellows sitting on top. They are dressed in like, like brown hats and they have like a black uniform on with like a white kind of dress shirt and like a string tie hanging off off of their next collars. Um, and they're coming around the Ridge right now. Uh, one of them is driving the stagecoach. The other one looks like he's got a shotgun on him.
01:07:53
Speaker
And they're just kind of like kind of riding silently across the morning road. Do you have some of the guys that we are with have their guns? Do the people we are with have their guns? Oh, yeah, they all got weapons. OK. Yeah, but you don't you don't see the stagecoach because you're looking at your toes. I see a fancy ass looking wagon coming now. Two fellers.
01:08:21
Speaker
Oh, really? On the box, yeah. Driver and shotgun. Oh, like the description.
01:08:26
Speaker
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh, shit. Well, a couple of hard cases wearing uniforms and whatnot. All right, it's our move, boys. It's our move. All right. All right. We didn't really have a plan beyond just going and knocking it over and taking the stuff. I mean, how about we stay here? Then you guys shoot at the guy, at the guy who drives and the one who has like weapons. And then after they're like, stop moving, then we like move on to the coach.
01:08:52
Speaker
I mean, I don't know how you guys always do it, but we all gotta kill people outright. I mean, come on, let's give them a chance to maybe surrender it to us. I mean, it doesn't need to be a lethal shot, but we can shoot them. I don't know, we'll all the other guys. I mean, what's... I don't... Look, as long as there's no kids, I'm fine to like, you know... Yeah, I'll shoot it up if you want me to. I'm

Negotiation Attempt

01:09:19
Speaker
okay with adults.
01:09:21
Speaker
Yeah. And then you see the other fellas just like, um, text, he was like, all right, look, I'm fine to try it just to go and intimidate him and say, Hey, give me the box. But if they start the moment they pull that gun up at that barrel points, either one of us, I'm opening fire. I don't care who's in that stage, coach. Okay. That's a, yeah, it's fine. I mean, Wednesday, if push comes to shove, short thing, but let me, let's try. I'll see what we can do here.
01:09:43
Speaker
Make a nice quick easy job of this, you know. All right. Why don't we leave the babes up top? They can be like our sharpshooters. And then the rest of us will go down there. Yeah. Strength in numbers. We got four of us. There's only I assume three or three or four of them. Well, I only see two right now. Plus, I'm assuming there's a doctor lady in there. It's got the medicine we're supposed to take. So I'm assuming they only got like three or four people in there. So we could probably outnumber them for four to three.
01:10:09
Speaker
They're scared to put the scare into them. So we would just want to ride in shooting our guns. Maybe. Well, I mean, maybe we could shoot him in the eye. We just shoot him in the air. We pull up just in front of him, hold him up, stop, say it to him and tell him we'll shoot him if they don't give up. I tell you what. Hey, I'll tell you what. Hey, I'll say, hey, how about this? How about we how about we let our old softy here take point and he can show us how he thinks it should be done that way. If it does go tits up, it is his fault. Yeah.
01:10:37
Speaker
You know what? Yeah, go ahead, Softy. Why don't you go ahead and lead the way? You show us how it's done, okay, partner? Alright.
01:10:43
Speaker
So and so I pull my bandana over my mouth, my face, so nobody can see my distinguishing mouth. It's not a distinguished mouth. No, the nose is the key feature of the face. Yeah, yeah. It's true. The nose is the unsung hero of the face. I go down there on my horse. All right, so you're going to ride in? Are you going to start shooting up in the air with your pistols or whatever? No, I'm going to have my rifle out.
01:11:08
Speaker
Just kind of holding it off in the side kind of resting against the saddle with the butt of it All right, and I guess they all come down with me behind me. Yeah, they're riding down behind you. So what do you do? They're gonna follow your lead. It's gonna You're gonna do a stealth okay, go ahead roll stealth That's a tonight. All right, you you kind of you trail off the road a little bit up into the darkness I'm like, all right fellas. Let's line up in the road from us. Where did
01:11:37
Speaker
Well, I see sneaking around somewhere. I need Texan... Who cares? He's a lizard, man. Who the fuck cares? He's probably bathing on a rock right now. All right, take it easy there, goddamn Tex-1. That's Tex-2. I'm sorry, Tex-2. Whatever one of you hell you are. Tex-1's a mute. Tex-2, you got the bruise on your chin for me, boss, you know. Yeah. I bossed you? I don't know. Anyway, let's line up in the road in front of them, block their way, get your guns out at the ready, you know. Look all fierce and intimidating.
01:12:06
Speaker
All right, a bruise. I know. I think the bruise makes me look more menacing. All right. Whatever you think there. And you want to punch me on the other side, even now, we'll talk about later, talk about later. Yeah, we'll take right away. Yeah, we're just going to wait there blocking the road. All right. You see, you know what? I'm going to do a little notice roll for. One of these fellas and see what they see.
01:12:34
Speaker
The guy on the front rolls a seven. So they kind of stop maybe I'd say about maybe about 100, so feet off from where you guys are. One of them spots that you guys kind of line up on the road. You can't quite tell from his facial expressions, like kind of what he's thinking. But like you can see that like the guy in the front that had the gun is kind of like now kind of like leaning it more towards like the front where the horses are, where you guys are. He's not he's not aiming at just yet because kind of has it like in that direction in case he needs to use it.
01:13:03
Speaker
Right. And then you see the driver also pulls out a pistol and you kind of hear like them yelling across the way. So it's a little bit hard to hear him, but you kind of hear like get off the road. I hold my hand up. I mean, obviously we're holding guns up, but I hold my hand up as a shine of not going to go crazy. And I start slowly walking the horse closer to him.
01:13:30
Speaker
Okay. And you see like the one guy kind of like just kind of puts his other hand on the barrel of the gun. So he's kind of like wrestling it up against his chest a little bit. He's not quite aiming it, but like he's, he's ready. Um, what do you do? Uh, failures. Uh, I just don't want to be shouting so much. Don't want to horse my voice up this early in the day. Uh, no, no point. Is that a pun?
01:13:53
Speaker
We just need you to give us that medicine you got up in that wagon there, and we'll all be on our way. Nothing bad needs to happen to nobody today. Just give it up, and we won't drill a bunch of holes through you with guns. Blimey, I tell you, why not? You got to carry on the medicine or something like that. I got that funny outside. I just got out there, got out there properly. Hey, could maybe the other feller talk?
01:14:20
Speaker
You see the driver, the driver stands up and goes, he said that this is very important medicine that we have to get delivered to someone who was ill and I cannot allow you to have it. So please get off

Confrontation Escalates

01:14:32
Speaker
the road.
01:14:33
Speaker
I will feel so impressed if Justin understood that. You know, I'm sorry, you know, I know someone probably doesn't need it, but I'm sure they'll get it some other way. But we're needing of taking it. So unless you would like, there's about 20 guns up in these hills here aimed down at you. So if you want to be Swiss cheese, you sound like maybe Irish, something like that. I don't think you want to come Swiss, feller.
01:15:00
Speaker
Look, I'm sorry. This is very important. And, uh, my lady insists we get this to who it needs to go to. It is of terrible importance that we get this with the next several hours. Otherwise they're not going to make it. And there's going to be a very unhappy family. So please, I implore you get off of the road. I'm not going to tell you again before my friend here opens fire on you.
01:15:25
Speaker
Hey, I mean, he's, he's, he take one shot. Maybe just maybe you get me, but then as I said, all them people up there, they're going to blow the, blow the kingdom come out of you. We're just going to have to, we're just going to have to take our chances to shoot through. We have to deliver this medicines of grave importance. And I stress again, grave importance.
01:15:46
Speaker
Well, hey, maybe I'm sure you brought as much as you need. I didn't think you needed. Maybe take a little bit with you. We'll take the bulk of it. You probably don't need everything you got in there. Come on. It's a very rare sample. We don't have a whole lot. This is what we were able to synthesize with what tech we do have. We have to get it there. It's an experimental drug. I can't give you a damn drop.
01:16:07
Speaker
Now, if you need medical services, we could refer you to someone. However, I don't know if you can tell from my accent. We are not from around here. So it would take a while for them to get to you. I would recommend you go see a physician elsewhere. I look back and text and text. I'm like, yeah, let's say I didn't fully understand all the words you just said there. And I'm like, oh, come on, softy, just like make a fucking move already.
01:16:34
Speaker
I know trying, they're not buying the whole 20 guns in the Hills. I mean, they're not. Yeah, they don't understand American. They

Chaos of Gunfire

01:16:41
Speaker
don't know what you're saying.
01:16:44
Speaker
Uh, well, listen, hey fellers, uh, I don't want to be killing nobody. Um, but I mean, if you guys don't just come on, you got to, you got to cough it up. It's, it's your laugh or somebody else's, I guess somewhere else. Well, you know, I'm going to tell you that you really get off the road right now. I'm going to take it and I'm going to shoot you in the hole. Do you folks even know who you helping? I mean, come on. Is it worth your laugh, sir? It is. It is not. Look.
01:17:12
Speaker
I, patient confidentiality, I can't tell you anything. There's a very powerful person who needs someone who's very dear to them to be cured. And it is of utmost importance with all of the money that we were sent. And it was a lot of money. We need to get this there. Otherwise we're all going to be in trouble. It could even be an international incidents and we don't want that.
01:17:35
Speaker
I see how it is, I look back at Tex again, I'm like rich and powerful, they get everything they need and they want away, feller, maybe some poor folk need some shit too, huh? I agree with you, there was definitely a disparity and a wealth gap, but we were already paid to do a job and I'm sorry, that's just the way it is. This is your final warning, you need to leave. And you hear somebody beating on the inside of the stagecoach,
01:18:01
Speaker
What's going on out there? Is everything all right? Do I need to come out there? Like, no, no, Miss Pumpernickel, please stay inside. Please stay inside. Everything's fine. Now, please leave. Hey, fellas, let me ask you one more thing. If you do start shooting at us, as I told you, there are many fellas out in these hills ready to aim down on you and bear on you if we need to. How good is that medicine going to be if that lady doctor in there is dead? Or if it lasted to pieces?
01:18:30
Speaker
It's just going to be something that we're going to have to take our chances on. We have physicians. Well, she's a physician. We are here as her, as her God, and we cannot let you hurt miss miss Pompa nickel. Hmm. Um, would you, I don't have that bonus anymore. Do you want to make an intimidation role maybe to try to see? I would, yeah, I was waiting for you. I'm hoping you would help. I'm hoping I can do that. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Definitely. I just kind of want the conversation to continue before you did. Uh, seven.
01:19:01
Speaker
Um, you see like the guy that you're talking to, the driver with the pistol in his hand, like he's, he's shaking. He doesn't want, you can tell he doesn't want to do this. Um, and like, he kind of like his, his voice cracks a little bit. He's like, look, I, I'm not looking to fight you, but I, I'm bound by my duties to miss pump a nickel. And I just, and then like, you see like a woman steps out. Um, she's wearing like a very kind of.
01:19:31
Speaker
Honestly, for like someone who seems like they're quite wealthy, like very, very plain clothes, like a very plain dress, she steps out. It's maybe like gray with like a little bit of like a like a white garnish around the side of it. Adornment and maybe like a little a nice little silver necklace that she has around her neck and her hair is up like a nice bun.
01:19:50
Speaker
She stops out and she goes, all right, what is going on here? This medicine needs to be delivered. The ice is melting. It needs to be delivered while cold. I just what is what do I how much money do you need? I need you all to get off the road. This imperative that we deliver within the next two to three hours. Ma'am, as I told these fellers. Oh, I heard you. Well, yeah, I mean, I don't think you want to become a bloodbath down here.
01:20:18
Speaker
That's all I'm trying to say. Osram, are you doing anything or sneaking anywhere? What are you doing while you're in the shadows? I'm like, I think I rode around the coach so that I'm kind of like behind them. And right now, Osram is just waiting on his horse and like wants to see like how Carter is like handling the situation. OK.
01:20:43
Speaker
Do you want to prepare to make a move if something happens? Yeah, exactly. Prepare to like right in there and start chopping people up. But right now, I'm just wanting to see how Carter resolves the situation.
01:20:56
Speaker
OK, you see she she's standing there and she does have a holster on her hip. She does have a little a little six shooter on her on her waist and she kind of like has her hand resting on it. She says, look,

And I don't want to have to get my first real world experience right here on these roads while I need to get this to a patient. Okay. So just what do we need to do to get you to get out of here? I have some money on me. I can pay you. I can give you my necklace if you want it. Just we need this to get to the patient. We don't have enough to give the rest of you. I'm terribly sorry. We could maybe.
01:21:40
Speaker
Send a telegram out across the the sea to England maybe to get some more sent over But it's gonna be weeks before another supply can get here Like why do you need this medicine? Yeah, we don't need I look back at text and text again. I'm like no for fuck's sake softie. Come on All right. I uh, we search he starts shooting his gun up in the air
01:22:03
Speaker
He's like, all right, I'm tired of this. I'm taking over this look softy. I gave you fucking chance. Look, lady, this is your last chance. And he points the fucking he points the gun directly at her. He's like, look, one chance, one chance only. All right. We have people in the hills. We have we have us. I guess we're down one guy because softy ain't got no fucking balls. But like, look.
01:22:23
Speaker
This is it. Hand it the fuck over. It's not gonna make it to the patient it needs to go to, alright? And that's just the way it's gotta have to be. You're just gonna turn around, turn tail, give us the fucking syringe, or the drug, or the pills, whatever the hell it is, hand it the fuck over. Last chance, and he kinda pulls the hammer back on the...
01:22:40
Speaker
on the pistol. And he's like, I'm not gonna tell you again. And you see the other guys kind of stand up. One's got the shotgun pointed at him. The other one's got the pistol pointed at you cutter. And it's just kind of like an awkward silence where everybody's kind of like just like kind of glancing back and forth at each other. And like you see text to is kind of looking over at you. He's kind of like kind of like giving that kind of like little like quick head motion to like go get the stuff. I just go get it. He's trying to tell you to go.
01:23:06
Speaker
Okay, I dismount, put my rifle in the pocket on the saddle, pull my revolver out as I go down over there. All right, folks, we don't want nothing. These fellers, they're hair trigger type of fellers. I mean, come on, let's just do this. Ma'am, I don't want to see you dead on the road. I don't want to see myself dead on the road. Let's just
01:23:28
Speaker
You see, like, as you're saying that, she slowly kind of pulls her holster, her gun out of the holster, and she kind of has it like pointed at you, like resting on her hip. And she's like, please don't do this. And that's not her voice. Please don't do this. Please don't do this. I wish I would have seen you starting to put it out sooner. I would tell you not to do that neither. But no, you know, I mean, you know, from around here, but let me tell you something. And these parts, this part of America, when you pull a gun out, that's either life or death.
01:23:57
Speaker
I'm prepared to die for what I believe in and I believe that you don't deserve this medicine and it needs to get to where it needs to go. I'd rather die standing up for what I believe in than let you guys just take this without a fight. How far away from her am I? Maybe like a foot. How far am I?
01:24:16
Speaker
Well, it depends. You said you want to be back. They would see you if you came up behind the wagon. Like there's no way they wouldn't hear your horse coming. So like you would need to be a little bit of a ways back. So you probably on your horse, if you like made it go into a full sprint, it probably take you maybe like 15, 20 seconds to catch up to where they're at. But they would hear you sprinting in unless you got off your horse and started moving up without your horse. I do think that I would like right up to where they are.
01:24:45
Speaker
So you're going to ride up and break yourself and let them know that you're there. All right. So like they hear like and like she kind of turns her head and says, I got her. Oh, fuck. You grab her. Oh, shit. All right. Roll an agility roll.
01:25:00
Speaker
Well, maybe an eight. That's an eight. You grab her. Her gun goes off, but it doesn't shoot you. It just kind of like pings into the side of the stage coach. And all of a sudden, just bullets, just like the guns just start going off as you grab her. Like fucking text, too, is like shooting at the fellows on the thing with the guys. I'm going to try and.
01:25:18
Speaker
And if I can, both try and like kick her gun out of her hand, like near or something in her hand. And my main objective is I'm going to try and pull her back like under the brush on the side of the road and like just not be in the direct line of fire. All right. While you're doing that, awesome. Gun fire is going off. The guys up on the hill are like shooting their rifles down at the stagecoach. What do you do? I get off my horse when I'm at the wagon and I climb into the coach.
01:25:46
Speaker
Did you climb into where the girl was sitting? Yeah, to see if there's any more people and if there's not any more people to steal what we need to steal.
01:25:55
Speaker
Yeah, so as the gunfire is going off he's wrestling her the other guys are fighting the dudes on the that jumped off the stagecoach Yeah, you see that there is a That there is like a wooden box that has like Like a lot of brush and stuff in it like a lot of sticks and things and then there's another smaller box inside of it and there's a bunch of ice kind of like like wedged in like just chunks of ice that are wedged into the sides of the brush to kind of keep them still and
01:26:23
Speaker
Um, and the box is very, very cold. Um, and, uh, yeah, and there's also salt, it's like salted ice, uh, to try to keep it colder longer. Uh, and yeah, you can tell right away, like that's probably what it is. Cause it's in like a secure box inside of another box with ice all around it. It's a very weird thing to look at.
01:26:41
Speaker
Then I'm going to take that outside the wagon and try to put it on my horse and holster it somewhere on the horse. You're going to try to put it on your horse.
01:26:56
Speaker
Yeah, I don't know if there would be a safe way for you to like just I don't know even if you had any sort of bags because like it's in like a unless you just took it out of the ice and out of the out of the twigs and just Took the little box itself and put it in like a little saddlebag or something You could probably do that But it's way too big of a box to like put in like a saddlebag or to rest on your horse's ass Okay So you could probably like rest it near your horse or something But you would need to take the smaller box out if you just want to store it
01:27:22
Speaker
No, I think that would be important that it stays cool for now. So I think

Fierce Battle Continues

01:27:28
Speaker
after looking at it, I go back out again. And then I want to see what kind of situation around me is. If a cutter needs any help, how the situation is up front is.
01:27:40
Speaker
You see as you hop back out, you see that that text number one is down on the ground. He's bleeding out from a gunshot wound to the chest, a buckshot wound, I should say, to the chest. He's like kind of like just like, you know, again, he doesn't talk very much or anything, but like you can hear just like he's kind of like gargling. He's like trying to struggle to talk.
01:28:01
Speaker
on the ground. You see Tex II has ridden off on his horse and is dipping behind like a rock down on a ridge. You see one of the other fellows that was driving is also down beside the wagon. He doesn't look like he's dead, but he looks like he is struggling to get up. And the other one is pressed up against the stagecoach, using it as cover from the guys who were shooting down over the hill.
01:28:24
Speaker
And then you see Qatar is currently rolling over with this other lady trying to move her towards the bushes. Qatar, let's resolve that. So you were trying to subdue her and like hide her in the bushes somewhere. Yeah, I was trying to pull her out of the hail of bullets. Okay. Why don't you just do a strength roll because she's going to struggle.
01:28:44
Speaker
Strength. Six. This is my dice and four is my roll I got. She's going to struggle with a strength as well. She rolled a five. So we'll say it's about even because it's not like a huge difference between. So like you guys are probably rolling over towards the side of the road, like into the bushes, but she is fighting hard. Like she's trying to get away from you. Like her life depends on it. Damn it, lady. Your your life depends. Don't get out there and hail the bullets. We got to get you down here. Got.
01:29:11
Speaker
What do you care? Just let me go. Your friend's taking the medicine. Stop him. If you actually give a shit, I've looked into your eyes, my friend. You are not a killer. You are not a criminal. Don't don't let this happen. I mean, I'm already in it late. I can't just just keep just keep yourself back here alive. God damn it. She likes she like takes a fistful of dirt and likes like rubs it in your left eye. She's like trying to crawl away from you.
01:29:41
Speaker
What do you do? Keep trying to get a hold of her, I guess. All right. Roll an agility roll. She's like, she's like, after she got a little bit of dirt in her eyes, she's trying to like squirm her way. Thirteen. I got a thirteen. Yeah, you catch her real quick. And she's like, just kill me already then. Come on. You won't. You thin-skinned, uh, uh, ruffian. The hell's this coming from? I ain't going to kill you. Listen, just because you, maybe you can't save this person here, ain't no reason for you to get killed or dead.
01:30:11
Speaker
There'll be more people to save. She like, as she's crawling away and you grab her feet and you're trying to pull her back, she grabs a hold of her gun and she just like kind of fires it off over at Ostrom. Um, as she sees them with the, with the, with the box. Um, I don't show you both yet.
01:30:29
Speaker
Oh, no, she saw you come out of the stagecoach with a box as you're running over towards your horse to see if you could store it or something. She like tries to fire at you, but cutters like pulling her. So she fires a bullet, zings past you, just pass your head like I'm going to blow your head off lady. I'm going to blow your head off. I try and climb and clamber up over and get the gun out of her hand. You take the gun. Yeah, you kind of like grab a wrist and like it kind of whips the gun off into the dirt. Awesome. What do you do?
01:30:56
Speaker
I like put the box down again. I don't want to like attack the guy who's still at the coach, like sneak around the coach and attack him with my axes. All right, go ahead and do a do a fighting role against this fellow.
01:31:11
Speaker
See how you do. I'm going to use a penny. Yeah, not good. You roll the two. Not good. Not good. Let's try that again. That's a three. Even more. One better. All right.
01:31:26
Speaker
So you go, you go, I like to imagine it like you swing a couple of times, like just because when Benny's are used, my brain thinks it's just you trying again, but better. So like you swing goes, oh, shit. Oh, shit. I'm not there. And then he looks like, oh, oh, shit. Roll your damage to see how much you heard him.
01:31:46
Speaker
That's a seven. You definitely shake him up. You land that axe and you kind of pin his fucking jacket to the stagecoach and you shake him up and he kind of drops his gun for a second. He drops his pistol. I'm going to have him try to un-shake to see.
01:32:07
Speaker
Let's see how he does. What is it, a vigor role, I think, or is it a spirit role? I forget. I think it's spirit. Just click. Oh, isn't around. He unshakes and tries to make like he just like rips his jacket, like runs off a wild cop. Oh, you know, you're right. He's not a rod card. He rolled a three. You're right. I was looking at the wrong dice. He rips his jacket trying to get away from you, but then stumbles onto the ground. He's still shaken. Not able to take any actions, but he's going to try to get away from you as he dropped his gun.
01:32:34
Speaker
Um, let's, uh, from the fish, man, there's no escaping. I imagine him

Moral Clash: Cutter vs. Tex

01:32:40
Speaker
saying that as he just like spins his axes in his hand too. He's like, there's no escaping from the fish, man. Um, but then as he's like running away from you, like he catches a bullet in the arm and kind of like falls over again and kind of like clutches his arm and like tries to make it towards the trees to try to hide, uh, as one of your guys up on the hill shoots him. Uh, do you want to take another action?
01:33:02
Speaker
We're doing this Monster of the Week style just so we can avoid cards. Yeah, like that guy is like going, there's another guy on the ground. Yeah, he's like kind of, he's struggling to get up. He's not dead, but he's like, he's struggling to get up. Let's kick him against the head. Just going to kick him in the head. Yeah.
01:33:22
Speaker
Go ahead and roll a roll of fighting girl, but add a plus two to it because he's on the ground. He can't defend itself. Yeah, I just say kick him in the head and knock him out. Yeah, he's not cold on the ground like with a gunshot wound in the belly.
01:33:37
Speaker
Cut her back to you as there's still gunfire firing up at that dude who's running away into the woods What are you doing with this lady? I? Want to try I like just manhandle her like bear squeeze her So she can't really move her arms and shit too much All right you I'd say that you do that at this point because like she's you guys been fighting for a hot minute And you're a little stronger than her So like you you like have her like you have her arms pinned to her sides like what do you do? All right look name
01:34:07
Speaker
Neither of us might like it, but we're taking that day of medicine with us, all right, and look there. That feller over there looks like, oh, geez, awesome. Kick him right in the head. Well, he might still be kicking and breathing. You can save that feller if you just want to. You get the heck out of here. You take your laugh and his laugh, and you can maybe save some more folks in the future. Right now, this is just one that somebody's got to take.
01:34:31
Speaker
The law is on this one and I'm sorry. As you say, I'm sorry, a gunshot rings out and you say that like the life leaves her eyes and she kind of falls limp.
01:34:45
Speaker
Who the hell? And you see like, you see, you see text to, uh, uh, comes riding over and he hops off his horse. He goes, I've had my eye on that. So she got out the car and he like rips that chain off her neck. Um, he goes, all right, I guess I gotta go help. I gotta go help catch this guy in the woods. I'll be back for you softie. We'll still, uh, still laying there. I guess with her like against me, I, I point my revolver at him with a dead lifeless look in my eyes. I'm like, text you son of a bitch, put that damn necklace down.
01:35:13
Speaker
What the fuck's wrong with you? Fucking put that thing away, man. Kill a defenseless person and a lady no less, you son of a bitch, you dropped that thing right now. Oh my god, you fucking softy. No way, this is gonna be my ticket to get back home, man. You don't need a God damn. We're taking this damn. We're killing somebody for this shit here. We're already getting money out of it. More than we ever need from that damn necklace. That's like, what, 20 bucks or something right there. It's gonna be my insurance, man. It's gonna be my insurance. It's gonna pay all my bills for a couple months. Me and the family gonna go on vacation. It's gonna be fucking glorious.
01:35:42
Speaker
This thing right here? A British lady? A British lady's necklace? Oh man, I'm gonna find the right buyer for this. I'm gonna retire easy. All right, do you mean- Why don't you just ride the hell right out of here? Why don't you put that gun down, by the way? Don't make me use this on you there, mister. Why don't you ride the hell on out of here, Tex? I don't like your fucking tone there, friend. Tommy Whizzle, wherever his name was, he'll make sure you get your money for the rest of this job. You get the hell out of here, all right? Are you looking- What are you trying to do here, Cutter?
01:36:12
Speaker
I'm trying to separate myself from you because I don't like being near you. I don't, I feel like I think the same thing. And maybe, maybe you don't need to make it back to Tommy Felix. That's what I'm thinking there. They're, they're, they're softy. What you going to do you little chicken shit, yellow belly? You going to stand up? What are you going to do? I want to let you leave. I want to let you walk away with your life Tex.
01:36:40
Speaker
I killed your little girlfriend. You got anything to say? Hmm? I've said it, Tex. You want to leave? Walk away with your life. You do it now.
01:36:47
Speaker
I don't like your tone. He he hops back off his horse. And he's like, OK, but I want to know if we can queue up actions or not. I forget if that's the thing I just wrote. But the second he twitches with his fucking gun hand, wherever he's got it, I'm going to pull him. Yeah. Yeah. Go ahead. I'd say that you probably catch him in surprise because he's probably expecting you to shoot right away. He's like he just got up on his horse. He's going to go chase down that guy. And then like you said something. And so like he hops back off his horse and say when he hops off his horse, you could probably shoot him.
01:37:16
Speaker
As long as I'm only if he may he's starting to make a motion to shoot me. Oh, absolutely He has his hand on his gun. He's like coming to you. Okay, he's looking to do he's looking at business Wow, that's a 10 and that's it. That's a that's an ace as well. So roll your damage plus plus another d6
01:37:33
Speaker
Colt 45A and 2CXA. Oh damn, that's 17 damage. Holy shit. Yeah, dude, you fucking, you lay him down. Like the moment

Aftermath and Reflection

01:37:41
Speaker
he steps off his horse, like as his feet touch the ground, he goes to say like, now you listen. And then the moment he says the word listen, all he hears is a gunshot ring out and then a bullet to his chest.
01:37:51
Speaker
and he just like kind of like staggers up against his horse and just like gets caught on the reins a little bit and like he's like leaning up against his horse and just like his right arm is like hanging out of the the reins of the horse and the horse is kind of like moving around a little bit dragging him and like as the horse like starts to drag him a bit until he finally like gets let go like the the necklace he took just like drops to the ground as he gets dragged away I kind of uh I'm just gonna lay there and kind of look up
01:38:16
Speaker
Like, just tilt my head back and see if I can see up in the woods and make sure what else is going on if they're still shooting or not, but... You can do a quick notice if you want.
01:38:25
Speaker
Roll my screen up so you can see what's going on 11. Yeah, you see at this point Awesome just kicked a dude in the head I assume he's probably gonna go get that guy in the woods as well with his axes The guys up on the hill that are kind of like running down now on their horses like with their with their rifles They're looking to chase that guy down in the woods. So they're just doing like a little manhunt right now. Okay, I go pick up her necklace and I Just keep holding for now. Okay, let them run off
01:38:55
Speaker
Gotcha. Ostrom, you just kicked the dude in the head and you see your friends are giving chase to the guy in the woods. What do you do? I go in the direction of Qatar and I asked him, how's things going over there for you? He's so lifeless. He's so cold. He's like, how's it going over here? Chitty. The lady didn't make it. That's unfortunate. Yeah. She's a pretty one.
01:39:26
Speaker
Yeah, like the box is pretty big so we kind of need to like I think carry it while writing or something.
01:39:34
Speaker
Oh, probably. Yeah. I mean, I guess we could take their wagon, take it with us. I mean, it's because it's going to be noticeable. But, you know, I really like your brain. That's a good idea. Yeah. You see a shovel or anything in there? I got any sort of tools. I didn't really look for it, but we can see if they have a shuffle. All right. You would remember if you saw a shovel there, it was just a nice little stagecoast with a box in there and like maybe like some assorted like sandwiches or something like for the road. But like, no, there wasn't any sort of tools or anything. No shuffles. Negative.
01:40:04
Speaker
All right. Mind letting me one of your exes. They're awesome for a bit. I don't really like to give my ex to people, but I can help you digging if you want. All right. Thanks, buddy. I have a strict no borrowing policy on my exes. But I'll wait on that. Maybe those two fellers can take the wagon with them. I'm going to bear this lady and at least roll them two fellers over the hill or something. Yeah.
01:40:32
Speaker
You hear you hear more gunshots off in the distance and then you hear you hear another and go, ah, and you hear babe. I think the final one there. And you see you see off in the hill, like one of them rode up to try to try to lasso the fellow who got wounded and he pulled the guy off his horse and took his gun and shot him with it. So like that, that one guard is like doing some work over there. Just babe, he was left. And I mean, I give you the teller some awesome. They're really taking doing it.
01:41:03
Speaker
Yeah, I walk I walk over and I kind of. Lean up on a rock or a tree or something, a stump and I'm going to kind of like take a beat. I get my rifle off my horse and I could take a beat on a guy, the other guard and try and shoot him. You're going to try to kill the guard. Yeah. OK. Yeah, go ahead and do a do a shooty shoot. I don't think he sees you coming. See how you do.
01:41:23
Speaker
Five to five. That's enough. Go ahead and roll the damage. See if see if you can finish him off. He's pretty hurt me. Fourteen. Oh, wow. Yeah. So just as he takes like he's he's having a struggle with with Tiny Two or Tiny. I don't know. I call him Time Babe Two. I don't know where Tiny came from, Babe Two. And he like jumps off and like Babe Two is like trying to chase him. And then like as he's running with his gun, trying to load it for another shot, you fucking you take him out and he drops into the woods.
01:41:54
Speaker
That's some good shooting right there, Carter. Thanks, and I turn and walk away from that spot towards the guy who's unconscious. Oh, towards the guy on the ground? Yeah. Oh, what are you going to do with him? Oh, he's still alive. Oh, he's still alive. Awesome. Kicked him in the head, knocked him out, but he's bleeding out pretty bad in that he's got a gut wound. Oh, I just fell apart and go make it. I don't think so either. He's like bleeding and stuff.
01:42:24
Speaker
Let's at least sit him up on off the side of the road or something. I mean, I don't find enough that, yeah. You see, you see. Babe, too, is over there, you know, he's like looting the body. He's like like taking a nice string tie off the guy's neck and everything and and like seeing if he has anything as well. He finds like a pocket watch and he comes riding over and he sees you guys dragging that guy and he goes, he goes, hey, watch this. And like he like he rears up the horse and just like and then just like brings the hooves down on the guy and just like crushes him under the weight of the horse.
01:42:53
Speaker
What the fuck, man? Now I'm all dirty and stuff. I told you, watch this. And... Jesus God. Well, I guess that's done, then, huh? Yep. Although everybody's dead, though. That sucks. Not everybody. Smaller split, huh, babe?
01:43:19
Speaker
Yeah, I suppose. And then he he points his rifle at you. Cutter is like, I don't throw my accent. Oh, shit. You throw your accent, babe, too. Yeah. I don't think he sees that come and go ahead and just roll your damage. Your act.
01:43:37
Speaker
Yeah, we'll say with the bonus damage as well because it was a stealth he didn't know he didn't expect you to fucking like plug him like that so you just like bury an axe into his chest and just like he just got like falls off his horse like Immediately onto the ground with a loud thud and a pocket watch just falls out of his out of his hand You know, I was planning to kill him anyway, so Yeah, doesn't pay to be a dick. Yeah Dicks get shot around here or axe thrown Well, I guess that means we got more time to
01:44:05
Speaker
Take care of these people here. Let's roll these pieces of shit off the road. I'm going to take whatever bullets and things like hand off of the goons, both good and bad goons. No, good that you to waste bullets. I'm going to roll them all over the hillside. Nice. Yeah, get your axe out of there before I roll this fucker over the hill. You're going to loot everybody. You're going to grab the box.
01:44:31
Speaker
Mm-hmm. I mean, in theory, you could take the stagecoach. I mean, if you needed to. I am going to bury the lady with her necklace. OK. Somewhere in the hillside. Gotcha. Gotcha. You got to help. Cut the roof, Dad.
01:44:46
Speaker
Okay, you guys normally also wouldn't really care about all of stuff, but he wants to like help catalog ease into like this like criminal world. What a what a nice gesture from a cold awesome. Yeah, a cold blooded awesome. Probably quite literally. Yeah.
01:45:06
Speaker
Okay, so you guys you bury the lady probably takes you, you know Maybe another maybe another 30 40 minutes to kind of get it at least a shallow grave for her off somewhere And you go looting you get all your stuff and then you guys grab your things and head back to Tommy Felix's I guess and and and Jensen give all the loose horses a swat on the button. Hope they end up somewhere home. Yeah, sure And I'm riding the States coach
01:45:33
Speaker
You're riding in the stagecoach, you're taking it back to Jensen, or no, I guess you'd be going back to Cruelty Alley

Return with Medicine

01:45:39
Speaker
to... Exactly, yeah. So yeah, you guys all do that. You get some people who kind of gawk a little bit when they see your fancy stagecoach because they think you're the rich British people. Yeah. And eventually you make your way back to Cruelty Alley over the next probably like half a day between like resting up, stopping and getting supplies and taking your stuff back.
01:46:04
Speaker
And you make your way back to Cruelty Alley, where you are greeted warmly by Tommy Felix, who sees the box. He sees the stagecoach, which is an extra bonus he didn't know he was going to get. Yeah. And he comes out and he's just like, oh, boy, look at the extra stuff we got in here. Oh, my God, I'm going to sell this thing. Maybe I'll get written around it myself. I want to feel like a fancy British man. But I want my cut from the stagecoach as well. Oh.
01:46:33
Speaker
What? No, no, no, no, no! The stagecoach is all for me! That's a bonus! Vasto'll pay you your money! Yeah, as long as you give me the money for it, I'm fine with that. Oh, of course! I mean, it looks like nobody else made it back but you two. Be honest. Yeah. Did you kill him for a bigger cut? You can tell me. Yes, but he wanted to kill us as well. Oh yeah, I told him that they should! Haha! Yeah. Oh well, you know. Always, uh, only the strong survive, as they say. And the ones with the faster hands.
01:47:03
Speaker
Yeah, sure, whatever you say. Alright, well come on in, I'll give you your cut of the money and then come back for when there's more jobs. It's gonna be a big cut. This ice is starting to melt though, I gotta get this to the right guy soon. We gotta get a big cut for Cutter. Yeah, whatever, who's Cutter? The guy who's with me. Your name's been Cutter this whole time? We've been calling you Softy. I'm aware, I'm aware, yeah. Oh, why so blue? Why do you look so down? Does somebody shoot you? You got a lot of blood on you there.
01:47:32
Speaker
Uh, nope, just, just, uh, tired if there are hard days, honest work, you know? Yes. Right. Well, boys, I can tell you this. This is the biggest score that we've ever done here in the bellend, boys. Not since we took down the big bell and got our name. So.
01:47:51
Speaker
So I'm going to give you your kind of the money. And if you're going to disappear, I understand because trust me, I'm not going to be needing to do any work for a long, long time. So here's your cut and stay out of trouble. OK. Now, I'll try to do that now. And when we're on the money comes through wire over to the the.
01:48:12
Speaker
The Wells Fargo office down at, what do we call it? We call it something different. The Bells Fargo office at New Dad. I heard there's a, they're starting up an express, or they have an express company over there. Maybe we can get a job and get out of here and look all normal and reasonable. I mean, that's a good idea. Deliver something far, far away. For a little while. Yeah, yeah. Deliver something far, far away. We'll live all happy lives, long and healthy. Yeah.
01:48:35
Speaker
off this money, I'm not going to send it back to my mom, but you'll have all kinds of time to spend all this money, you're going to enjoy your life, you're going to live forever. I don't really know how long people like me live, so you might be right about that. I mean, yeah, well, anyway, maybe those fellers that do that have some long range delivery we can make and just never come back. I feel like this whole thing is going to be a big mess.
01:49:02
Speaker
No, you can get into the next mess in the future. No, no, boys. Listen, listen, we can retire now with your biggest, bigger set of a cut and my bigger cut and being able to sell the stagecoach later. Oh, my God. We're going to be living big, the big easy. There's nothing in money. We're going to be literally swimming in money. We're going to fill Dickey Lake with cash.
01:49:24
Speaker
Yeah. All right. Well, hey, I said, you know, wire it to us. Every guy do get, we'll get it wherever it comes. But a pleasure doing business with you. Well, I wish I could say the same, but I don't like anybody I work with. So hopefully I never have to see you again. Well, he probably won't. He farts and walks away. I fought a spell. I had no beans lately.
01:49:53
Speaker
And there we go. That I think that would conclude the our our prelude to explain a little bit about what's going to happen in the coming episodes.
01:50:06
Speaker
How do you guys feel? Do you feel like that was a good way to tell the story of how Osman and Cutter did the business? I think so, yeah. I feel like I'm willing. It's really sad and dark times upon them. They brought upon them while they brought upon themselves. Indeed. Hopefully that wasn't too heavy for everybody. I know that was a little bit silly, but also, you know, some bad shit happened, but that's the nature of when you do crime.
01:50:33
Speaker
was dramatic. And as we all know, Ostrom's going to live forever. Yes. Only in our hearts. There's never going to be a headless corpse. That's for sure.
01:51:51
Speaker
Does it look good already?
