Can you believe that it is July already? Time has ebbed! The first half of 2023 is gone.

How was your first half? Did you accomplish everything you had envisioned to? Chances are, you have achieved some of the things but still have some pending. It is life! Sometimes we hit our targets, and sometimes we don’t.

In the first half, we accomplished some amazing things, for instance, the Reiki Share event. We had some of you show up, which is a success from where we sit. We got to interact with people in the spiritual space, and as healers, we also had a chance to get healed. We plan on having another event in August and hope to see you there.

At a personal level, we’ve both accomplished some of our goals, and we’ll dig into them in this episode. To make your mid-year review more effective, we’ll share some nuggets to guide you.  Also, we will give you tips on how to plan better for the second half of 2023.

Listen to learn more.

Introduction to Psychic Girls Next Door

00:00:05
Speaker
Welcome to Psychic Girls Next Door.
00:00:07
Speaker
We are your hosts, Shannon Miller and Lily Gibarino.
00:00:10
Speaker
This podcast is for all spiritual enthusiasts and psychics next door to share tools, experiences, and spiritual practices that align with your highest vibrational self.

First Reiki Share Experience

00:00:21
Speaker
In this episode, we will be talking about our first Reiki share that we hosted a few weeks ago and a mid-year energetic review.
00:00:32
Speaker
So what does that really mean?
00:00:34
Speaker
Talking about lessons we are currently learning, any trends or growth patterns we might be experiencing, any new self-discoveries.
00:00:44
Speaker
But I would love to just dive into, you know, sharing about our Reiki share.
00:00:50
Speaker
Oh, that was so fun.
00:00:52
Speaker
It was so fun.
00:00:52
Speaker
Yeah.
00:00:53
Speaker
Yeah.
00:00:54
Speaker
There were a few of us that showed up and it was our first time just hosting that in general.
00:00:59
Speaker
So figuring out like trying something new can be challenging in general.
00:01:05
Speaker
So it felt very validating for us to just do that and host our first event.
00:01:11
Speaker
Even if it was like a small turnout, like I felt very validated in the moment and yeah.
00:01:16
Speaker
Being able to provide healing and exchange healing with other people, that was super, super rewarding and valuable.
00:01:23
Speaker
What do you think?
00:01:25
Speaker
What do you think of our first

What is a Reiki Share?

00:01:26
Speaker
Reiki share?
00:01:26
Speaker
Oh, I love that.
00:01:28
Speaker
Yeah.
00:01:28
Speaker
So if you're not familiar with the Reiki share, it's basically us as Reiki practitioners.
00:01:35
Speaker
Oh, if you had some Reiki trainee, we trade.
00:01:39
Speaker
Reiki on each other and you know we rented a space where we basically when you're receiving Reiki you are laying down hopefully on like some sort of like a massage table and we kind of set it up in a way that I felt very comforting
00:02:02
Speaker
We had, yeah, like just like a handful of people.
00:02:06
Speaker
I mean, I would be happy if one person showed up.
00:02:09
Speaker
Oh, yeah.
00:02:09
Speaker
I would be like thrilled.
00:02:12
Speaker
And for us, I think it was not only validating, but it was also something that was very healing too, at least for me.
00:02:22
Speaker
It felt healing because us as healers, we are used to always facilitating and giving healing.
00:02:30
Speaker
So it was nice to also receive in a way because we don't always have the chance to receive.
00:02:35
Speaker
So it was nice to connect with others.
00:02:40
Speaker
They're kind of like-minded too.
00:02:43
Speaker
And also receive the Reiki.
00:02:45
Speaker
I thought it was awesome just to be in the space where...
00:02:49
Speaker
We were able to network.
00:02:51
Speaker
We were able to practice our Reiki abilities, receive it, and hopefully we'll host some more events.
00:03:01
Speaker
Yeah, definitely.
00:03:02
Speaker
Yeah.
00:03:03
Speaker
Now that I feel like we have a good process and flow of what we need to do and how to properly facilitate a Reiki share, it seems pretty easy.
00:03:13
Speaker
It seemed like it was a good experience for everybody who attended and it was nice to get to know new people and make friends in this space of, you know, being spiritual and being open to spirituality and being a Reiki practitioner and being able to build that sense of community.
00:03:31
Speaker
And that's the whole point of this podcast.

Building a Spiritual Community

00:03:33
Speaker
Like to create information and create resources for people and just, you know, or information about resources for others.
00:03:40
Speaker
Yes.
00:03:41
Speaker
Reiki being just like one of the many different possibilities and tools that we can use to not only connect, but to facilitate healing for others too.
00:03:52
Speaker
And I felt very, you know, privileged to be in this space today.
00:03:56
Speaker
of being a Reiki share.
00:03:58
Speaker
But we also, I think in the past, as we got also like psychic readings and energetic readings, I remember some of the psychics telling both you and I, oh, you guys have to host the Reiki share.
00:04:11
Speaker
Yeah, yeah.
00:04:11
Speaker
So that felt super valid.
00:04:13
Speaker
Yeah.
00:04:13
Speaker
Yeah.
00:04:14
Speaker
Because that looks really appropriate and healthy in your space.
00:04:18
Speaker
So I thought it was really cool to actually like manifest that.
00:04:23
Speaker
Yeah.
00:04:23
Speaker
Yeah.
00:04:24
Speaker
It was definitely like,
00:04:26
Speaker
something that was on our spiritual bucket list that yeah.
00:04:30
Speaker
Yeah.
00:04:30
Speaker
And now we can, we can keep doing it and building upon that.
00:04:34
Speaker
And I think it's going to be a fun journey for us to go through together.
00:04:38
Speaker
And, um, it is, it's a really rewarding if you are a Reiki practitioner and want to come to our next one, please reach out to us.
00:04:46
Speaker
Um, cause we're starting to plan the next one and hopefully to build, you know, a sense of community around that in San Francisco specifically.
00:04:56
Speaker
Yeah, or follow us on social media too, because we post stuff like that and you can just follow on any updates or upcoming events.
00:05:06
Speaker
Hopefully soon.
00:05:07
Speaker
Hopefully soon.
00:05:08
Speaker
Yeah, hopefully August is probably our goal.
00:05:12
Speaker
Yes.
00:05:13
Speaker
But yeah, it was, it was, I can't even remember what came up, you know, because how information can come up when you're exchanging Reiki.
00:05:23
Speaker
I must have cleaned it out so good that I just,
00:05:28
Speaker
Like what came up in my suitcase?

Insights from Reiki and Personal Power

00:05:30
Speaker
I think something related to like stress and like in my body.
00:05:35
Speaker
Oh, I do remember she mentioned the Reiki practitioner who I did an exchange with.
00:05:43
Speaker
She mentioned my...
00:05:46
Speaker
my shins.
00:05:47
Speaker
And then she sent me like this like body graph, um, like picture about like what pain in your shins represents.
00:05:59
Speaker
Uh, and I had sent it to my friend.
00:06:00
Speaker
So let me just like, it was, it was interesting.
00:06:04
Speaker
Uh, like, let me just pull it up really quickly.
00:06:07
Speaker
And so the body graph, so the thing, it was like,
00:06:13
Speaker
Fear of others not accepting my power.
00:06:16
Speaker
Wow.
00:06:17
Speaker
Which I thought was so interesting.
00:06:21
Speaker
And I feel like I've been experiencing that at work.
00:06:25
Speaker
Like I keep being told, like, I'm in a very powerful position and like, I don't really care about power.
00:06:30
Speaker
I care about spiritual power and energetic power, but I don't care about like, you know, this capitalistic power structure that we're in.
00:06:38
Speaker
Like that doesn't motivate me at all.
00:06:40
Speaker
Like I don't align with that energy.
00:06:42
Speaker
I,
00:06:43
Speaker
I want like, you know, higher information.
00:06:45
Speaker
I want like a deeper understanding of a human being and like what motivates people and how people can be free to connect.
00:06:54
Speaker
That's kind of what drives me.
00:06:56
Speaker
But so she was spot on.
00:06:58
Speaker
She was spot on.
00:06:59
Speaker
Yeah.
00:07:00
Speaker
Yeah.
00:07:00
Speaker
And then my wrists kept coming up as well.
00:07:04
Speaker
Early childhood trauma with females.
00:07:08
Speaker
Oh, we haven't practiced in some of our past episodes.
00:07:12
Speaker
If you want to learn more about it, you can just like go back.
00:07:16
Speaker
Yeah.
00:07:17
Speaker
So I don't know if you want to look at the graph and see.
00:07:19
Speaker
That's so interesting.
00:07:20
Speaker
If there was anything like, you know, relevant to what every Reiki practitioner is different.
00:07:28
Speaker
But we'll have to like send, we can hyperlink this, this graph or even post the graph on our Instagram.
00:07:35
Speaker
Cause that was,
00:07:36
Speaker
It's really, really fascinating.
00:07:39
Speaker
And it gives you a lot of like deeper.
00:07:40
Speaker
I don't even think like power or fear of being with people being afraid of my own power would be in my shins.
00:07:47
Speaker
Like I never thought that would be a thing.
00:07:49
Speaker
And I didn't even feel anything physically in my shins.
00:07:53
Speaker
But it's interesting the information that you can pick up on when you are practicing Reiki on other people.
00:08:00
Speaker
It can just be very like subconscious and subliminal.
00:08:03
Speaker
But what came up for you when you received the Reiki?
00:08:07
Speaker
I don't even remember it either.
00:08:10
Speaker
I think, and again, it probably also made really good energetic separations.
00:08:15
Speaker
And I'm someone that I, you know, whatever came through, I would just...
00:08:20
Speaker
kind of let the information come through and just let my spirit and body just take it in.
00:08:27
Speaker
I know that a lot of people, they might take notes, they didn't want to record it.
00:08:30
Speaker
I am not one of those people.
00:08:32
Speaker
I just allow the information to come through and just kind of settle.
00:08:36
Speaker
If it needs to stay, it will stay.
00:08:38
Speaker
If not, it will just kind of
00:08:41
Speaker
But I think it had to do something with my, like the area of my shoulders around that area.
00:08:51
Speaker
I want to see the upper arm.
00:08:53
Speaker
And according to the graph, it's something about like nurturing or...
00:09:02
Speaker
Or never receiving nurturing energy from mom and dad.
00:09:07
Speaker
Or by the parents, by the caregivers.
00:09:10
Speaker
Oh, wanting or undeserving of nurture by mom.
00:09:16
Speaker
Yeah, or something like that.
00:09:19
Speaker
I think that's what it came up.
00:09:20
Speaker
I can't remember clearly what it was.
00:09:23
Speaker
But whatever...
00:09:24
Speaker
When I exchanged the healing, I could feel the energy moving like right there and then with the person that I did my exchange with.
00:09:34
Speaker
So that was very validating.
00:09:36
Speaker
And I've noticed that after also we hosted an event, it just, it feels like so empowering to be in the space that,
00:09:44
Speaker
We were like, oh my gosh, I hosted an event.
00:09:46
Speaker
Like, how awesome is that?
00:09:48
Speaker
It's just kind of creating this sense of like community with people and just really stepping into this space where you are facilitating also this practice for others as well.
00:10:04
Speaker
And we had, I think on social media, we did have people that unfortunately were not able to attend.
00:10:12
Speaker
And they're like, oh, we want to attend the next one.
00:10:15
Speaker
I'm like, okay, well, that's very validating.
00:10:17
Speaker
That's great that people want to join us.
00:10:20
Speaker
And they trust us to facilitate the space, the whole space for people.

Navigating 2023: Energetic Shifts and Challenges

00:10:25
Speaker
So I love that.
00:10:27
Speaker
So I think this is also, you know, kind of ties in with us going to this mid-year energetic review.
00:10:33
Speaker
Because I think it's important for us to like...
00:10:36
Speaker
sit back and reflect what we've been training on.
00:10:42
Speaker
And acknowledge like on all the growth and the progress we've made and also pay attention to things that you wanted to do that you really haven't paid any attention to.
00:10:51
Speaker
Yes, it's a great, instead of like waiting until the end of the year to like look and like and review what has, which is great too.
00:10:59
Speaker
It's a great practice.
00:11:01
Speaker
But I think it's always good to kind of check in with yourself
00:11:06
Speaker
Throughout the year, throughout the days and the months, but I think like a mid-year, it's kind of nice to also like, okay, I have like another six months ahead of me or like a semester.
00:11:16
Speaker
Yeah.
00:11:17
Speaker
If I need to make any adjustments.
00:11:19
Speaker
Yeah.
00:11:20
Speaker
Do I need to fine-tune anything?
00:11:22
Speaker
It's kind of like if you drive a car.
00:11:24
Speaker
You know, you drive a car and it's great, but once in a while you do want to kind of, you know, do a checkup.
00:11:31
Speaker
Yeah, you got to get your oil changed and your wipers replaced.
00:11:34
Speaker
Yeah, you do have to, you know, fine tune your car to make sure that it's running properly.
00:11:39
Speaker
And I think it's the same thing with us.
00:11:42
Speaker
Sometimes we do, we do, we get caught up with our...
00:11:45
Speaker
daily lives and work and all this stuff is always going to be happening because that's life but it's always healthy to just pause and just assess what is working
00:12:01
Speaker
what is not working you know for me I think the biggest thing oh man this year has been intense let me just start off by saying that yeah I don't know if it has been for everyone but 2023 so far has been energetically just like I feel like I've been
00:12:22
Speaker
in space, just trying to navigate all the unknown and new things and changes.
00:12:34
Speaker
And it's interesting how you notice that
00:12:41
Speaker
Changes also come preceded sometimes with some chaos or confusion.
00:12:46
Speaker
And I think my life has been a little bit like that lately.
00:12:51
Speaker
So a lot of like shifts and movement, a lot of movement.
00:12:56
Speaker
And then there's part of me that is freaking out.
00:12:59
Speaker
Oh, yeah.
00:13:00
Speaker
Yeah.
00:13:01
Speaker
I'm like terrified.
00:13:02
Speaker
Yeah.
00:13:02
Speaker
Oh, my gosh.
00:13:03
Speaker
But there's part of me that's like, OK, yes, let's do this.
00:13:07
Speaker
Yeah.
00:13:08
Speaker
I don't know how to be ready.
00:13:09
Speaker
I'm just going to be ready.
00:13:10
Speaker
Yeah.
00:13:11
Speaker
Just be open to being in a position to be in change.
00:13:15
Speaker
And I mean, I think we talked a little bit about this on the last episode, but just like.
00:13:20
Speaker
resistance to change is real.
00:13:22
Speaker
And like, you know, when you feel like you're like, for me this year, I think I had like goals of,
00:13:30
Speaker
shifting my physical energy.
00:13:34
Speaker
And then I got a job that doesn't really let me do that.
00:13:37
Speaker
Or I feel, or maybe that's a narrative or a picture that I have a job that doesn't let me like focus on self-care.
00:13:43
Speaker
And like, I have to constantly be part of like, you know, that's my main goal of being successful.
00:13:49
Speaker
Like, Oh, got a new job.
00:13:50
Speaker
And when you take on something new, right.
00:13:53
Speaker
In general, whether it's a new job, a new relationship, a new project, um,
00:13:59
Speaker
You put a lot of your energy and your focus into it.
00:14:02
Speaker
And but then it gets it doesn't become it gets not that it gets old, but like you get used to it.
00:14:07
Speaker
You create routines, you create frameworks that work for you, and then you don't feel new anymore.
00:14:14
Speaker
And for me, it's been very challenging to.
00:14:19
Speaker
be able to feel like I'm not new anymore.
00:14:22
Speaker
And like, there's always something new to learn or like context that I'm completely missing out on or just like, wait, what's going on over there?
00:14:30
Speaker
And like that constant like rush of like that chaotic, you know, like having to feel like I constantly have to pay attention to it.
00:14:38
Speaker
So therefore I'm like fully, fully on, you know, guard dog watch with that.
00:14:45
Speaker
And then not being able to pay attention to the other elements of my life that I really want to.
00:14:51
Speaker
Like my cat has been mad at me.
00:14:54
Speaker
She like, cause I come home late.
00:14:56
Speaker
Well, she's just expressing to you.
00:14:59
Speaker
I think it's kind of projecting to like how, probably how you're feeling about it.
00:15:04
Speaker
Oh yeah.
00:15:06
Speaker
She's feeling about the situation.
00:15:08
Speaker
So I think it goes both ways.
00:15:10
Speaker
Yeah.
00:15:10
Speaker
And I'm like, okay, I think it's time for me to make a shift, whether that's, you know, shifting my habits.
00:15:19
Speaker
I think that's really where it

The Art of Self-Reflection and Personal Growth

00:15:20
Speaker
starts.
00:15:21
Speaker
Like being able to shift,
00:15:22
Speaker
Like go back to my original intention of being able to pour into my cup, being able to, you know, have my cat.
00:15:29
Speaker
I have my cat, but I'm never able to spend time with her.
00:15:32
Speaker
And then she's mad.
00:15:33
Speaker
And then when the time we do have, like, it's lovely and great, but when it's limited and it feels limited.
00:15:41
Speaker
Yeah, it's more about quality.
00:15:43
Speaker
Quality time with her.
00:15:45
Speaker
But I think it's easy for us to also get caught up in this conversation or narrative that's like, oh, you know, insert here like some blame or guilt feeling that either we're not doing, we should be doing, or we didn't do it.
00:16:03
Speaker
And then blame ourselves.
00:16:06
Speaker
And then move on, but you're not really assessing that.
00:16:10
Speaker
You know what I mean?
00:16:11
Speaker
Yeah.
00:16:13
Speaker
And then you kind of create this like snowball effect of just like, oh, this is not happening, but then I want to, I wanted to fix it, but then other things happen in a way.
00:16:25
Speaker
Mm-hmm.
00:16:27
Speaker
And then when you want to go back and actually kind of assess that, it became much bigger.
00:16:33
Speaker
So it becomes like a much larger snowball, you know.
00:16:36
Speaker
So I think it is helpful just to pause now.
00:16:42
Speaker
Like right now.
00:16:43
Speaker
It's not like, it's just like pause it.
00:16:47
Speaker
Like not tomorrow, not the next, like right now, pause it and just kind of, I would say like, just take an inventory of things.
00:16:56
Speaker
You know, how is your body feeling?
00:16:59
Speaker
How are your energy levels?
00:17:01
Speaker
Mm-hmm.
00:17:02
Speaker
Are you feeling any sort of joy in your life?
00:17:05
Speaker
What is bringing you joy lately?
00:17:09
Speaker
Do you feel joy at all?
00:17:11
Speaker
Are you able to feel tapping into your feelings?
00:17:14
Speaker
Are you avoiding them?
00:17:16
Speaker
You know, and what is it that you feel like it's calling you?
00:17:21
Speaker
But you're not going to be able to assess any of this information, a chaotic or crowded or loud environment.
00:17:28
Speaker
You do have to pause and find yourself or create a space where there's stillness and quiet.
00:17:35
Speaker
And you don't have to like go into a retreat in the middle of, you know, some like isolated forest or go to Bali.
00:17:43
Speaker
None of that.
00:17:44
Speaker
That all sounds great.
00:17:44
Speaker
That sounds amazing.
00:17:45
Speaker
If you can do that, hey, good for you.
00:17:47
Speaker
Invite me.
00:17:48
Speaker
I'll come to you.
00:17:49
Speaker
But anyway...
00:17:51
Speaker
You can go like right where you are.
00:17:52
Speaker
Yeah.
00:17:53
Speaker
On your couch, sitting on a chair in front of your desk, wherever you are in your car.
00:17:58
Speaker
I sometimes do it in my car, too.
00:17:59
Speaker
Like I'm sitting in my car, just like sometimes I'll just like I close my head and I just breathe.
00:18:04
Speaker
Oh, yeah.
00:18:05
Speaker
That's always like the best feeling.
00:18:06
Speaker
You've been running around all day.
00:18:08
Speaker
And maybe it's a little cold outside and you just go in your warm car and you're like, I'm in a bubble of silence.
00:18:14
Speaker
It feels amazing.
00:18:15
Speaker
Oh, it's just so nice.
00:18:16
Speaker
You give yourself that energetic blanket or just like pausing, just reconnect with yourself and just take a deep breath and say, oh, hello.
00:18:26
Speaker
Where have you been all day?
00:18:27
Speaker
Yeah.
00:18:28
Speaker
Yeah.
00:18:28
Speaker
That type of thing.
00:18:29
Speaker
It's the same thing that you would like...
00:18:33
Speaker
Say to a friend or like a good friend, oh, I worried about you.
00:18:36
Speaker
Are you okay?
00:18:37
Speaker
And I think it's the same kind of conversation that it would be helpful to have with ourselves.
00:18:44
Speaker
You know, just pausing, just checking in with yourself.
00:18:48
Speaker
Okay, like, what do you need right now?
00:18:50
Speaker
Do you need water?
00:18:52
Speaker
Do you need maybe a snack?
00:18:53
Speaker
Yeah.
00:18:54
Speaker
What do you need?
00:18:55
Speaker
And just kind of honoring that need.
00:18:56
Speaker
And it doesn't have to be anything big or, you know, dramatic.
00:19:00
Speaker
It's just something small that you need at that moment.
00:19:04
Speaker
So I think it's just important just to do this, maybe not a mid-year, but a mid-pause, you know, throughout your day.
00:19:12
Speaker
I think it also helps too.
00:19:14
Speaker
But kind of in the same note too.
00:19:17
Speaker
One other thing that I've been working on or what I've been learning, and that's a better word, about self-expression for me has been a big theme this year.

Embracing Self-Expression and Creativity

00:19:29
Speaker
If you had told me that even six months ago that I would be recording a reel to post it on Instagram, I'll be like,
00:19:40
Speaker
You're out of your mind.
00:19:42
Speaker
No.
00:19:42
Speaker
Yeah.
00:19:43
Speaker
No.
00:19:43
Speaker
And no.
00:19:44
Speaker
Yeah.
00:19:44
Speaker
And now you're doing it.
00:19:45
Speaker
And now I'm doing it.
00:19:46
Speaker
Like I even got a tripod with a ring light.
00:19:50
Speaker
Who am I?
00:19:51
Speaker
I love that.
00:19:52
Speaker
Who is she?
00:19:53
Speaker
Look at you.
00:19:54
Speaker
Look at her.
00:19:55
Speaker
Yeah, totally.
00:19:55
Speaker
I'm just like embodying the influencer content creator life.
00:20:00
Speaker
I never thought in a million times that I would be in the space where I actually feel comfortable doing it.
00:20:06
Speaker
And I just, I think I came to the point where I don't care.
00:20:10
Speaker
So validating.
00:20:10
Speaker
There is such a free space to be like, I don't give a fuck.
00:20:14
Speaker
Yeah.
00:20:15
Speaker
Yeah.
00:20:15
Speaker
No, it's like the de-gaffing, like being able to just post freely.
00:20:20
Speaker
And like, I mean, I've started posting with you like a lot less than you have, but.
00:20:25
Speaker
But check us out, guys.
00:20:27
Speaker
We have a TikTok.
00:20:28
Speaker
We have an Instagram.
00:20:31
Speaker
And we do share some really good nuggets.
00:20:33
Speaker
Yes.
00:20:34
Speaker
Yeah.
00:20:35
Speaker
No one wanting to toot our own horns.
00:20:37
Speaker
Toot toot.
00:20:37
Speaker
Yeah.
00:20:38
Speaker
But our goal is to share like nuggets of wisdom that kind of we're experiencing live so that you don't have to wait for an episode or it can just be on a, you know...
00:20:49
Speaker
on on the journey with us but that's so validating because i remember you're like oh i don't know how i feel about video and yeah no november last year yeah like when we were uh we actually when we started this podcast and i was okay i feel comfortable with audio yeah because like kind of you're kind of hiding behind the microphone people don't really see you
00:21:10
Speaker
And yeah, we did discuss about it, about like recording more videos.
00:21:15
Speaker
And we did like a video for around the holidays.
00:21:19
Speaker
But I just never thought that I would come into a space where I actually have the courage or had the courage to actually do it.
00:21:28
Speaker
But I think it's, it always, of course, it happens when you're ready and when you're open for this type of changes.
00:21:35
Speaker
But again, like it comes with inner work and, you know, really being aware that sometimes you do have to do things that might be uncomfortable.
00:21:48
Speaker
You know, I, you know, for a lot of people, this is terrifying.
00:21:52
Speaker
It was terrifying.
00:21:53
Speaker
It's still terrifying in many levels for me too.
00:21:55
Speaker
Yeah.
00:21:56
Speaker
It's not everybody that is comfortable just like having your face like all over social media and talking on social media.
00:22:05
Speaker
Not everyone is open to doing it.
00:22:08
Speaker
But I think it's the space where if you want to make changes and if you want to.
00:22:15
Speaker
really push yourself to the next level, you have to step out of your comfort zone.
00:22:21
Speaker
Yeah.
00:22:22
Speaker
And I know it's very comfy, but it's nice to stay there.
00:22:26
Speaker
Yeah.
00:22:26
Speaker
But as we know, nothing happens in the comfort zone.
00:22:29
Speaker
So you do have to nudge yourself out of that zone.
00:22:33
Speaker
I mean, it doesn't have to be as, you know, kind of like how I did it where I'm like, okay, I'm like speaking and talking and, you know, being on social media, it can be just something small.
00:22:45
Speaker
Yeah.
00:22:45
Speaker
You know, where you just kind of challenge yourself.
00:22:48
Speaker
Okay, what's the next thing that I can do?
00:22:51
Speaker
So I can either shift the situation or I can just go up the next chapter, the next slide.
00:22:57
Speaker
We could maybe take in a class.
00:22:59
Speaker
Yeah, that's a great way to do it.
00:23:01
Speaker
Yeah.
00:23:02
Speaker
You know, learning more another skill.
00:23:04
Speaker
Maybe it is, I don't know, reading a book.
00:23:08
Speaker
yeah listening to a podcast like this one right listening to an audiobook too like anything that changes your routine like for me uh this constant like goal of changing my physical routine actually i have gone on a few morning walks so that has been validating oh nice getting my ass up
00:23:28
Speaker
has been the most challenging thing ever because I am not a morning person, but lately I've been having to travel and it's been kind of changing up my time zone.
00:23:38
Speaker
And so being able to like come and kind of take advantage of that to springboard me into waking up before a certain time so that I can take care of my body and movement, whatever that is, whether it's a walk, whether it's doing like an Ava fitness dance video or Ava fitness dance video.
00:23:57
Speaker
Yeah.
00:23:58
Speaker
Um, even fitness is like, she's awesome.
00:24:00
Speaker
Uh, check her out on YouTube.
00:24:02
Speaker
We can hyperlink her stuff, but just something that changes up your routine.
00:24:07
Speaker
And I get a lot of joy from feeling like a silly fool doing those videos.
00:24:12
Speaker
And like, you know, if my sister comes in and we start laughing at each other or, um, you know, something that makes you feel like you're doing something for yourself.
00:24:22
Speaker
And that's
00:24:24
Speaker
That's for me, like the whole point of living, like you have to do something for yourself.
00:24:30
Speaker
Yeah, it has to be something that brings you joy.
00:24:34
Speaker
Man, life is so challenging.
00:24:36
Speaker
Right.
00:24:36
Speaker
I mean, if we don't bring joy in, no one's going to do it for you.
00:24:41
Speaker
No.
00:24:42
Speaker
Because joy, sometimes you have to create for yourself.
00:24:45
Speaker
Right.
00:24:45
Speaker
You do have to create your own joy and you have to figure out like what brings you joy.
00:24:49
Speaker
And like, if you feel like your routine has been kind of stale this year, now's the time to mix it up.
00:24:55
Speaker
Yeah.
00:24:56
Speaker
Great time to like, oh, okay, we're already June, July.
00:25:00
Speaker
I mean, we're recording this in June, but you might be listening to this in July.
00:25:04
Speaker
Okay.
00:25:05
Speaker
I still, you know, have some time to shift things around a little bit.
00:25:10
Speaker
And again, like it's never too late for anything in life.
00:25:14
Speaker
And you have to do it.
00:25:15
Speaker
If you don't do it for yourself, no one is going to do it.
00:25:18
Speaker
That's the...
00:25:20
Speaker
baseline of things uh and you if you say like oh i'm just gonna wait and there's never gonna be the right moment for things because the right moment is right now right and you're never gonna be fully ready because there's no such thing as being ready i i love that i love let's go back to that this this what you just said the right moment is right now
00:25:39
Speaker
It is right

Living in the Present Moment

00:25:40
Speaker
now.
00:25:40
Speaker
It's exactly where we are, you know, because there's not going to be like the red light, green light.
00:25:47
Speaker
Oh, now you go.
00:25:48
Speaker
No, it is.
00:25:48
Speaker
You just do it.
00:25:50
Speaker
You know, you just create that moment.
00:25:53
Speaker
And that because the only moment that we have is this present time.
00:25:57
Speaker
Yeah.
00:25:57
Speaker
So just thinking about what is happening like right at this moment that is working.
00:26:05
Speaker
And not working.
00:26:07
Speaker
It's not working.
00:26:08
Speaker
It is, again, like sorting things through or decluttering your space.
00:26:14
Speaker
I literally went, even with social media, because all of us are on social media, I declutter my social media once in a while.
00:26:25
Speaker
accounts that I follow, I unfollow them.
00:26:29
Speaker
People that were following me, I've also, like, removed them.
00:26:34
Speaker
You know, it's just things like that, you know.
00:26:37
Speaker
Any noise, any extra noise, anything that's going to clog your vision quest for yourself, like, whatever it is.
00:26:45
Speaker
Like, I like to follow... I started following a lot of, like, YA authors and...
00:26:52
Speaker
TikTokers who review YA books because that's what I want to bring into my space.
00:26:57
Speaker
And this is like the perfect time to talk about.
00:27:00
Speaker
I feel ignorant.
00:27:01
Speaker
What is YA?
00:27:02
Speaker
Oh, young adult.
00:27:03
Speaker
Oh, young adult.
00:27:04
Speaker
Okay.
00:27:04
Speaker
I didn't go that far.
00:27:06
Speaker
I thought it was a title.
00:27:07
Speaker
No, no, no.
00:27:08
Speaker
Yeah.
00:27:08
Speaker
The genre of young adult.
00:27:10
Speaker
So, cause I, I've started writing my book series that I really want to finish and I
00:27:17
Speaker
At the beginning of the year in January, I remember telling my coworkers like, oh, I really want to finish my first book by the end of the year.
00:27:23
Speaker
I have nowhere near that.
00:27:25
Speaker
And it is June.
00:27:26
Speaker
So that's like, how can I shift that and create more time in my routine to dedicate myself to being creative, which brings me joy and shifting, just creating space for myself and creating space for like
00:27:44
Speaker
new ideas to flow in.
00:27:45
Speaker
What do I need in order to do that?
00:27:47
Speaker
Quiet.
00:27:49
Speaker
I need space.
00:27:50
Speaker
Prioritize.
00:27:50
Speaker
Time.
00:27:51
Speaker
Yeah.
00:27:52
Speaker
Yeah.
00:27:53
Speaker
And be better at time management and prioritization of self-care.
00:27:58
Speaker
And for me, being creative and doing this book for myself is the way that I'm going to feel like I'm taking care of myself.
00:28:08
Speaker
Yeah.
00:28:08
Speaker
Yeah.
00:28:09
Speaker
Well, but I think it's great that you are aware of that.
00:28:11
Speaker
Yeah.
00:28:12
Speaker
I think everything starts with just becoming aware and then think about what's the next step that I can take for this to actually become a reality or for you to manifest whatever it is.
00:28:25
Speaker
Because if you're not aware, then, you know, you just don't know even where to start.
00:28:30
Speaker
But it's just take, yeah, you might want to.
00:28:33
Speaker
look at it and say, okay, okay, my intention now is to dedicate maybe an hour per week, even if that is, to just writing.
00:28:44
Speaker
So what do I need in order to do that?
00:28:46
Speaker
So I need to, so you have to like think of small steps in order to create that habit too, you know?
00:28:53
Speaker
But sometimes you might even need to put that in your schedule, like in your calendar, like literally like create, block that time.
00:29:00
Speaker
Yeah.
00:29:01
Speaker
on your calendar to actually do it because, you know, we have busy lives.
00:29:05
Speaker
Yeah.
00:29:05
Speaker
And there might be a way of doing it.
00:29:07
Speaker
Yeah.
00:29:08
Speaker
No, I think that's a great suggestion.
00:29:10
Speaker
But yeah, like, so looking at the next six months ahead, like, what do you want to accomplish?
00:29:16
Speaker
Like, you know, and you specifically, Lily, like, what are you looking to accomplish?
00:29:21
Speaker
You know, I, that's a, that's a big question.
00:29:25
Speaker
You don't have to have all the answers now.
00:29:27
Speaker
Yeah.
00:29:28
Speaker
We're in the hot seat today, guys.
00:29:31
Speaker
I, you know, I feel that I just want to keep expanding on whatever I have already been trending since the beginning of the year, which is about self-expression and being aligned with being authentic.
00:29:48
Speaker
And the things that I create and I post, I've been also growing, I think, a lot around discovering that I enjoy social media.
00:29:59
Speaker
I, you know, creation, content creation, content creation.
00:30:03
Speaker
you know, design and things like that.
00:30:06
Speaker
It's something that was very dormant and now it's kind of came a little bit more to the surface.
00:30:11
Speaker
So I've been enjoying growing in that business and field.
00:30:17
Speaker
Also, I want to say, I don't know, I think like,
00:30:23
Speaker
Work-wise, there's a lot of shifts that has been happening in my life.
00:30:28
Speaker
So I'm kind of open to see where life takes me next.
00:30:33
Speaker
So we'll see.
00:30:34
Speaker
Maybe on the next episodes, I'll share, you know, what comes next in my life.
00:30:39
Speaker
Yeah.
00:30:39
Speaker
Because right now, honestly, I just don't know.
00:30:42
Speaker
And it's okay not to know.
00:30:43
Speaker
It is okay not to know.
00:30:44
Speaker
It's kind of scary.
00:30:46
Speaker
It's scary, but it can, you know, just give yourself permission to be open to receiving something new.
00:30:51
Speaker
Absolutely.
00:30:52
Speaker
Just let the universe amaze me, you know, so I'm going to, yeah, and just like create space for that to happen.
00:30:59
Speaker
So I'm in a space where I'm just really want to follow my intuition with things and where things are calling me and taking me and what resonates with me and what doesn't.
00:31:09
Speaker
Yeah.
00:31:10
Speaker
that's kind of like overall like i want to say that's where i am but what about you i think like going back to my original plan and maybe sticking to a plan i think just sticking to the plan of being able to create more space for myself like one like i have this like one this is great like this podcast it kind of
00:31:34
Speaker
checks off my spiritual, spiritual, spiritual bucket.

Achieving Creative and Personal Goals

00:31:39
Speaker
And I want to pour in more into my creative bucket, whether that bleeds into the podcast, which is also kind of creative, but like, you know, mainly to be able to sit down and write and like get these thoughts out and get the story out on paper.
00:31:53
Speaker
that I have had in my head for like 10 years and being able to properly do that and be more consistent.
00:32:00
Speaker
I think being like more consistent with habits, like sometimes I'll just like go fully off the rails of like, you know, whether it's not eating healthy or, um,
00:32:11
Speaker
And typically I'm pretty good with like my, my, what I consume in my body.
00:32:17
Speaker
But it's just been like, okay, we're going to eat pizza.
00:32:20
Speaker
And then I'm like, oh my God, I had just bread yesterday.
00:32:22
Speaker
Like whether it was like a pretzel and I started with a bagel and I'm like, oh my God.
00:32:26
Speaker
like there's no vegetables like so sometimes I'd fall off the rails if my routine is disrupted so being able to create a like a safety net of when I feel like my routine is disrupted how can I make sure that my healthy habits are still in place like whether that's eating healthy whether that's you know making sure I move my body once a day um
00:32:55
Speaker
like checking off the, the categories that make me feel self-love, um, whether that's, I mean, one brushing and flossing my teeth at night and well, at least brushing in the morning, that makes me feel like I am ready for the day.
00:33:10
Speaker
And it can be as simple as that.
00:33:11
Speaker
And like, I've been brushing and flossing my teeth every night since I was eight years old.
00:33:15
Speaker
And that's something that I like really pride myself in.
00:33:18
Speaker
I know that's so weird and like so specific, but yeah,
00:33:22
Speaker
That's a habit that I created early on because I knew that it was going to benefit me in some way.
00:33:27
Speaker
And so I need to kind of go back to that original framework that I instilled when I was eight, even if it's related to, you know, brush it.
00:33:35
Speaker
How can I take that teeth brushing and teeth flossing framework and apply it to other areas of my life with the same amount of diligence?

Healthy Routines for Well-being

00:33:45
Speaker
Because when I don't floss my teeth at night, I feel just like a garbage gutter internally.
00:33:53
Speaker
It's interesting that you are talking about that because it's also, I think, very connected to how you feel about it.
00:34:00
Speaker
Yeah.
00:34:00
Speaker
Yeah.
00:34:01
Speaker
Because once you create also that feeling in your body and how this also regulates your nervous system, you know, then you associate that.
00:34:12
Speaker
Oh, it makes me feel clean.
00:34:14
Speaker
It makes me feel accomplished.
00:34:16
Speaker
Reset.
00:34:16
Speaker
Yeah, reset.
00:34:17
Speaker
It makes me feel like I...
00:34:20
Speaker
Conquered the day.
00:34:21
Speaker
I've achieved like, you know, whatever.
00:34:23
Speaker
Satisfying plus.
00:34:24
Speaker
Oh, yeah.
00:34:24
Speaker
Like, yes.
00:34:26
Speaker
Yeah.
00:34:26
Speaker
You know, sparkly whities.
00:34:28
Speaker
Right.
00:34:29
Speaker
But I think it's also looking at that because if you see something as a chore, it's going to become a chore.
00:34:35
Speaker
Mm-hmm.
00:34:36
Speaker
You know, if, you know, so you kind of have to shift also the perspective.
00:34:42
Speaker
If like for a lot of people already, when they talk about working out, they're dreading.
00:34:47
Speaker
I'm like, that's going to be a dread.
00:34:49
Speaker
Oh, yeah.
00:34:49
Speaker
You're going to match that energy.
00:34:50
Speaker
Yeah.
00:34:51
Speaker
Of course, it's going to be awful because you're already dreading that.
00:34:55
Speaker
Yes.
00:34:55
Speaker
But you have to think about like, how can you make the experience a little bit more fun?
00:35:02
Speaker
Yeah.
00:35:03
Speaker
Say like, for example, movement and then just find you mentioned like you like the dance workouts.
00:35:08
Speaker
Okay.
00:35:08
Speaker
Do more of that.
00:35:09
Speaker

Speaker
I always feel like I feel good afterwards.
00:35:38
Speaker
I feel like I feel healthy.
00:35:40
Speaker
I feel energized.
00:35:42
