Brother Devon: Hello, you are listening to the all new anti -fanboy podcast for the week of September 8th, 2024. Oh my germs and gerbils. We are here. It's ready. I'm ready for the the cool times. I complained about this last week, but at this time I'm just living in. I drank the apple juice. I drank the fruit juice. I'm part of the cult. It's autumn officially and get your pumpkins, but that's fine everybody because

Brother Devon: I am one of a quartet. I am brother Devin of this place where you to start a squad. And with me is brother Steve of the salamanders and with him is brother Chris Galante also of the salamanders.

slimeballsteve: hey hey you dan

slimeballsteve: now

MERLINCHESTNUT: um

Brother Devon: And then finally we have brother Suarez.

Phantom Libtard: Hi.

Brother Devon: He's a space wolf.

MERLINCHESTNUT: a

slimeballsteve: I made my guy a space wolf.

Phantom Libtard: What's a space wolf?

Brother Devon: I don't know. I just.

MERLINCHESTNUT: so

slimeballsteve: Oh, you don't know. Don't lie.

MERLINCHESTNUT: a

slimeballsteve: Don't lie, Mr.

Phantom Libtard: what's a dickmon What's a bull?

slimeballsteve: Space Marine.

Phantom Libtard: What's a bull work? What's a bull work? Did you pick a bull work?

MERLINCHESTNUT: I'm a bulwark, baby.

Brother Devon: Oh, like the class. No, I haven't played a ball work yet.

Phantom Libtard: Yeah.

MERLINCHESTNUT: I'm a bull and I'm gonna make this work. I don't know. I have no idea. I think that's supposed to be like a tank, isn't it?

Brother Devon: So, yeah, it's a thick little thick little boy.

slimeballsteve: they're sort They're sorting board in the image, right?

Brother Devon: It is a wall or earth or any other material built for defense. It's the class where he has a sword and shield.

slimeballsteve: I believe you mean an earth bender, Devin.

Brother Devon: Oh.

MERLINCHESTNUT: I got you gotcha.

Brother Devon: a

MERLINCHESTNUT: Gotcha.

Phantom Libtard: Got him.

slimeballsteve: Got him!

Phantom Libtard: Got him.

Brother Devon: Whatever, guys.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Devin, you're, you're dick deep into space Marine too.

Brother Devon: I won't even say I'm Dickey, dude, I'm like.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Oh boy.

Brother Devon: There's been a lot of, I was a little more social than I wanted to be, honestly, this weekend.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Oh no.

Brother Devon: So I didn't get as much space worrying time as I wanted to.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Oh, Devin, I'm so sorry.

Brother Devon: I know, right? I had to like fucking hang out with people.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Whew, it's rough, man.

Brother Devon: Yeah.

MERLINCHESTNUT: What are you thinking? Oh yeah.

Brother Devon: It's real sad, real sad.

MERLINCHESTNUT: See, the one thing you love you had to,

Brother Devon: It's all some friends.

MERLINCHESTNUT: You know, put down and just talk to, talk to people that they don't care about you.

Brother Devon: Trust me. No, you know what the worst part was? Like this was the worst part. I had to fucking like, we're cleaning up the house to have company over.

Brother Devon: So all i I was just like, man, I just really want to just sit down and just save the Imperium.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Hey, keep going, man.

Brother Devon: But instead I just got to wipe down the weird spot behind the trash can that we've never, you know, really wiped down before.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Let it up.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Let me ask you, Devin.

Brother Devon: And then.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Let me ask you, wipe it down that spot. How did you make it make you feel?

Brother Devon: Maybe we feel like I was missing my brothers in in the Imperium in the space bringing war against Exactly Also, it's the moon of Daven that's where Horace fell to chaos officially The moon of Daven That was a little pre -podcast banter we were having

MERLINCHESTNUT: Moon of Devon It was a moon, right?

Phantom Libtard: The moon of Devon.

MERLINCHESTNUT: i thought it was important

Brother Devon: wow But yeah, so no, but, uh, yeah, not to play in space marine two and.

slimeballsteve: Spicemarine!

MERLINCHESTNUT: Hey space marine

Brother Devon: Unfortunately,

Brother Devon: unfortunately the Tyranids are just bug creatures, so they don't get to say, why are you doing on my ships? pi spra They don't get to talk like that.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Devin question, how would they talk?

Brother Devon: Yes. How would a Tyranid talk?

MERLINCHESTNUT: And may I give you an option?

Brother Devon: I would love to hear an example. Yeah.

Brother Devon: They don't talk like that. Hey, can I just highly put in a little feeding tubes?

MERLINCHESTNUT: I'm gonna turn you into biomatter.

Brother Devon: Yeah, no, they do that.

MERLINCHESTNUT: That's what I'm gonna do.

slimeballsteve: Pretty good.

Brother Devon: They certainly make everything disgusting.

slimeballsteve: Everything's goop.

MERLINCHESTNUT: That's not me!

Brother Devon: Those bugs.

MERLINCHESTNUT: That's disgusting! That's how I eat!

slimeballsteve: A lot of goop, a lot of visceral, a lot of gorgeous lying about.

Phantom Libtard: Mmm.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Hmm. I like it.

Brother Devon: Yeah, you know what? ah You know, it's it's been getting a lot of play ah in terms of just like people tweeting about it. And they're like, man, why don't they do games like this anymore?

Brother Devon: Which is always cool to see. But I think like one of the specific examples is like, man, I really miss when games would have like big massive things happening in the background while you're just playing the game.

slimeballsteve: Mmm.

Brother Devon: And that is something Space Marine 2 does very well.

slimeballsteve: It's kind of spectacular. There are points in the game where they're like, you have to hold off your ground until something happens in the background. And then it does.

Brother Devon: Yeah Yeah, and if you like shoot at them like you will kill those enemies Yeah, I was just shooting at them.

slimeballsteve: And you're like, God damn, that's a lot of tyranny running like.

slimeballsteve: Yeah, you will you will get points for them.

Brother Devon: It just leads 3 trillion fucking tear nids in the background running Yeah, dude like the scale of the game is I mean it's it's Warhammer is just like 40 % scale like if you had to just distill what the game what the concept is yes Yeah yeah

MERLINCHESTNUT: So are you guys reacting to like scale, like just some so many of something?

slimeballsteve: Yeah.

Phantom Libtard: It's like Warhammer 40k.

slimeballsteve: 40K, yeah.

Phantom Libtard: It's like 40k on 40k on 40k Chris.

MERLINCHESTNUT: 40%.

Brother Devon: on 40 millimeters.

Phantom Libtard: That's 120k for Warhammer 120k.

Brother Devon: yeah

MERLINCHESTNUT: Nothing but the best, 120%.

Brother Devon: Yeah. Yeah.

MERLINCHESTNUT: 40K.

Brother Devon: But, uh, no, I, uh, but I've been playing it. I've tried all three modes. Uh, although apparently online connection was a bit spotty this, this weekend.

slimeballsteve: Yeah, my my game where I try to do PV when it like, which is kind of cool.

Phantom Libtard: It's a bit spotty.

slimeballsteve: You were explaining this before the podcast, but the game will make you do like some campaign missions and then the campaign mission will be like, oh, we need to make sure the other squad goes in and takes care of this first before Target's unit can go in and do this.

slimeballsteve: So like you can play that squad doing that mission.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Well, that's cool.

slimeballsteve: Yeah.

Brother Devon: Yeah. And.

MERLINCHESTNUT: So is it like a just like one squad is doing like a distraction while the other squad can go in?

Brother Devon: I mean, that was like the first of them, and I think there's like six or seven of these like kind of co -op missions. And yeah, so it was like I had to go save this um tech priest. Who like refused to leave his his like post or whatever, but also I had to like help like launch this fucking virus bomb, essentially, ah with this other squad as like a distraction to thin out the the hordes of the Tiernids in this particular sector of the planet.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Exterminatus.

Brother Devon: So then like this three man squad of, you know, a heavy, you know, I played it as a heavy weapons guy, which was a lot of fun, but yeah.

slimeballsteve: I did tactical the first time because like my brain didn't really like decipher the units.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Oh my God.

Brother Devon: And not like I like sucked. I wasn't like super comfortable with it. But yeah, I like played it. And just there's this guy that was clear. He was like already like level 20.

slimeballsteve: Oh, you had one of those guys.

Brother Devon: I was like, fucking all right, cool. And he was just jump packing with this thunder hammer, just wiping everything out.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Oh, Thunderhopper's in the gate?

Brother Devon: But they are six, six, six, six. Oh, yeah.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Oh boy.

Brother Devon: And so like we're doing all that stuff. And then ah near like at the end of it, It's like, oh, so ah they're just going to assault. You know, you got to like.

Brother Devon: line up the the gun, the big gun or something before it happens. And then you're waiting for the thing to charge up. So you have to fend off this assault. And it's just in the background is just tearing.

Phantom Libtard: Thank

Brother Devon: It's just running across. And then when it's like, OK, defend your spot, like you see all the tuner, it's turning run towards you and they do that cool thing where they run up against the walls and they just start climbing and.

Phantom Libtard: you.

slimeballsteve: Hmm.

slimeballsteve: They do the World War Z thing where they all snack.

Brother Devon: Yeah.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Oh, goody. I like that.

Brother Devon: Yeah.

slimeballsteve: Hmm.

Brother Devon: And it's funny enough that is it's made by the guys who did the World War Z game where they did the stacking thing, which is like.

MERLINCHESTNUT: You know, that's that's something I was missing with with Helldivers, because like there's that scene and in Starship Troopers where they're in that base and there's just like a field of those what are rack them what do they called?

Brother Devon: Mm hmm.

Brother Devon: Yeah.

MERLINCHESTNUT: I can't remember anyway.

Brother Devon: Bugs.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Bugs. There's like a field of bugs coming at them and.

Brother Devon: Yeah.

MERLINCHESTNUT: That's something that held every couldn't couldn't really not perfectly like the way that the visual Yeah, I'd say so

Brother Devon: Yeah, yeah. That was the one aspect that they they were definitely like lacking. Yeah, and this is like exactly that stuff, right? And and then there's like this little thing you turn it on and then it just shoots like a bunch of fire out and just wipe out like 1000 of them at once. And then there's, you know, 3000 more come in. And we were playing on like as the default difficulty. So it was like really You know, it's kind of like embarrassingly easy, but I did that.

Brother Devon: And then I did one PvP mode where i we just did like a capture and hold.

slimeballsteve: Uh -huh.

Brother Devon: And I sucked. I was the worst player on both teams. um But still, it was fun. And then I was like, I'm just going to start.

MERLINCHESTNUT: which which your loadout

Brother Devon: Well, my loadout, it didn't. So, Steve, I don't know what your situation was like, but like every time I joined either the PVP or the the co -op mode, I'm saying co -op like the the the operations mode, it kind of was just like, OK, you have 20 seconds to get in like and then you're going to play.

slimeballsteve: Hmm. Yeah.

Brother Devon: So like I didn't really have a chance to customize either my loadout or my look.

MERLINCHESTNUT: What's your loadout, Devin?

slimeballsteve: Yeah.

Brother Devon: So I was just getting like the default everything, which was like, Oh, okay. Or like whatever I could fit in in the 20 seconds. So I'm assuming there's a way to get in there and then just like, you can set all that stuff up before you, I guess become like an active player.

slimeballsteve: Yes, ah there is, um you know that part where you're walking and those two bombs were like blocking that pathway and the one guy was like kind of yelling at that guy and he was like, get these out of here.

Brother Devon: ah

Brother Devon: Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.

slimeballsteve: There's a part where that clears up and it just becomes like one of the, I guess it's a library and I kind of forget there their names. um Dude, um I'm sorry, dude.

Brother Devon: no sorry It was a tech priest.

MERLINCHESTNUT: A custodian?

Brother Devon: It was probably a tech priest yelling at the servitors.

MERLINCHESTNUT: It's a custodian.

Phantom Libtard: Peace.

slimeballsteve: Yeah, as a tech priest. um

MERLINCHESTNUT: It's a good a custodial artist.

slimeballsteve: But like he comes down in like one of the chairs and he's like, hey, you can like figure out like your loadouts and stuff here. And ah that's where I like went in and I was like spending points. And it's cool because it's like you spend points and you can like pick which chapters you kind of want to like spend points into if you want to kind of like, expect yourself to be like a certain um like space marine chapter. Or you can also do your like weapon loadouts there too, which um

MERLINCHESTNUT: Steve, you mentioned you were, you chose Space Wolf. What are the options?

slimeballsteve: There's a lot. um And then there's also like go nuts. There's definitely like a go nuts, like create your own custom chapter.

MERLINCHESTNUT: So I could be a death guard if I wanted to, right?

slimeballsteve: You could be, it looks like you can be anybody.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Nah, I'm just kidding. You can't be in there. They're bad guys.

slimeballsteve: I saw, I mean, you could paint your models to look like, yeah.

Brother Devon: You can set up a your chaos. Yeah, you can set up a traitor.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Oh, really?

Brother Devon: Well, in the PVP mode, right?

MERLINCHESTNUT: No shit.

Brother Devon: Yeah, you can be.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Oh, and PVP. I see, I see, I see. Okay.

Brother Devon: I think.

slimeballsteve: But it it looks like they just like let you go nuts with that stuff.

MERLINCHESTNUT: I wanna be a stinky boy, you know what I mean?

slimeballsteve: but it it is cool. It is cool seeing and like all the chapters and I think they broke them out by like which books they're from. Cause I, there was like the first like chapters and then there was like four or five pages showing like each chapter.

slimeballsteve: So that those might be like which are the chapters and like which runs of like current ah space Marine.

Brother Devon: What the fuck are you talking about?

slimeballsteve: Like, you know how there's like,

Brother Devon: You're saying chat like.

slimeballsteve: um I keep saying chapters, I'm sorry.

Brother Devon: You're talking about books and chapters.

slimeballsteve: You know how there has been like iterations, you know how there have been iterations of the game?

MERLINCHESTNUT: Oh boy.

slimeballsteve: Like it'll be like Warhammer 40k, this will be like their like fifth or sixth book or whatever.

slimeballsteve: i'm talking I'm talking about like the actual game.

Brother Devon: OK.

slimeballsteve: How like they keep like updating the game. Like you know how D and &D has like

Brother Devon: All right. You're talking about like the different chapters, the different like the ultra rings, the blood angels, but the black.

slimeballsteve: Yes. Yes. They have them. I think they have them split up by like, you know, like these are the, these are the chapters that came out when the game first released. And then here's that are like, you know, new ones and stuff like that.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Oh, I see what you're saying.

Brother Devon: Yeah. Well, there's things called like foundings and stuff like that.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Ah.

Brother Devon: There's like a sec.

MERLINCHESTNUT: So you you saw ultramarines and you were like too basic, right?

Brother Devon: There's successor chapters.

slimeballsteve: I mean, I remember when I was like, ultra Marines are neat. And Devin was like, ha ha ha. You idiot. You basic. You enjoy your pumpkin spice.

MERLINCHESTNUT: What about Grey Knight? Can he be a Grey Knight?

slimeballsteve: I think so.

Brother Devon: cannot be great. I'll tell you that right now.

MERLINCHESTNUT: No, really?

slimeballsteve: There's a lot, man.

Brother Devon: I mean, you could probably get a great night color scheme, but like in terms of.

slimeballsteve: There's a lot, man.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Okay, the actual chapter.

Brother Devon: That's like a different thing. Yeah, that's it. I mean, that's like if you were like, I want to be a custodians. You fucking idiots.

MERLINCHESTNUT: I do.

Brother Devon: Guys, come on.

slimeballsteve: I don't

MERLINCHESTNUT: I'd love to be a custodian.

Brother Devon: yeah i bet Yeah.

slimeballsteve: think he'd be custodian.

Brother Devon: Yeah, I wish you were all worthy janitors.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Be a great custodian.

slimeballsteve: It's cool though, it is it makes you feel like, you know how Helldivers is like, you're you're fighting this big bug war but you're a clumsy bumpkin and you're gonna die a lot?

slimeballsteve: This is like, what if you were fighting that war but you were like a big ass, just piece of meat.

MERLINCHESTNUT: You got big ass meat.

slimeballsteve: You're slapping your meaty arms against a bunch of bugs.

Brother Devon: Yeah, just murdering shit.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Slap that meat.

Brother Devon: And I mean, you know, I'm I'm a few hours in, but so far it has not gotten old that when I parry and I just stick my arm up and I just catch a tear in it and this fucking don't get into the ground.

slimeballsteve: The choke -slam animation is awesome.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Feels good.

Brother Devon: Dude, it looks like because there's these parry attacks, right?

MERLINCHESTNUT: Juice.

Brother Devon: And, um you know, the bigger enemies, you're just doing like a parry. But with the smaller like enemies, like like literally, if it's like a little blue icon and if you hit it on time, you'll like just chop them in half in midair or you'll catch them and just like rip them apart or slam them into the fucking paste.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Mmm. Slam him.

MERLINCHESTNUT: That's cool.

Brother Devon: And it always feels good to do that. And yeah.

slimeballsteve: i I forget, but um do all the enemies kind of have like their own unique like animations for those?

Brother Devon: Um, I mean, for the most part, like the, the, the warriors, right? The 200 warriors, which is like the big ones that like, when you kill them, they kill everybody else.

slimeballsteve: Yeah.

Brother Devon: There's like four or five. And then I think there's weapons specific. Like there's like two or three versions of like the chain sword kill two or three versions of the power sword kill and stuff like that.

slimeballsteve: OK.

slimeballsteve: Hmm.

Brother Devon: Um, and it seems like the same with the, um, the thousand sun Marines, uh, the rubric Marines, uh, as we're called,

MERLINCHESTNUT: So Devin, what do you think of what do you think of the story? How's that capturing you?

Brother Devon: Um, I I mean, I kind of dig it ah right now. They're very much tying into the first game at this point because you do play the same character.

Brother Devon: And I think it's a it's a I mean, I'm I'm glad like you're playing as Titus.

slimeballsteve: Spoilers

Brother Devon: But like the fact that in the game, there's no real like this is what happened for a game that came out 14 years ago.

MERLINCHESTNUT: There's no, there's no like this.

Brother Devon: whatever it was.

MERLINCHESTNUT: No, really? Nothing.

Brother Devon: No, no. So it's just like, hey, I hope you watched a YouTube video that says this is what you need to know.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Well, that's good to know.

Brother Devon: Yeah, I would definitely recommend that because there's a pretty big plot point that just popped up and it was like, oh, what, the what, what the hell is going on? But what is interesting, and this is kind of chunky deep lore, which are I like is So they're they explain how Titus went from a standard of starties, like a first born starties to a primaris marine, which is like a whole thing. But then his new squad ah are there are like originals, primaris marines. And they're like, hey, this guy's over 200 years old. Like there's no way he was a primaris like

Brother Devon: He must have been a firstborn first born first. Then one guy is like lowkey salty as hell that Titus is your new like a lieutenant because it seemed like he was next in line.

slimeballsteve: He asks a lot of questions.

Brother Devon: Yeah.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Ah, I see.

Brother Devon: And he's like, oh, that's fucking cool, I guess. And then, you know, there's there's some interesting, the lower implications about Primaris and first born.

MERLINCHESTNUT: But Titus was born, was born for that position, right? Like more so than that guy. He said he was the first boy.

Brother Devon: I mean, yeah, I mean, you know, like, well, Titus was a captain. And then he was demoted when, yeah.

MERLINCHESTNUT: I remember that. That was in the first game, right?

slimeballsteve: Yeah.

Brother Devon: Yeah, exactly. And he was demoted and they're like, well, you're a left -handed now.

MERLINCHESTNUT: I do remember that.

Brother Devon: Cause that's how they pronounce it.

slimeballsteve: They thought he was, um, they thought he was, uh, yeah.

MERLINCHESTNUT: He's a renegade cop. He's the cop that nobody believes.

slimeballsteve: Cause he was like, he was kind of like questioning things in that first game. If I remember correctly, right.

Brother Devon: Yeah. Yeah. He was, he was, uh, the, the Codex of Startes is basically the rule book of which All Marines typically follow, all terrains literally wrote the book.

Brother Devon: So they're like the most asshole, like asinine about the whole thing.

slimeballsteve: Hmm.

Brother Devon: And there's that guy in the first game. He's like, this doesn't support Dakota to startings.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Yeah, he was like, he was like the chief of police where he's like, God damn it, you got my sciatica acting up.

Brother Devon: Yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah.

slimeballsteve: Eh.

MERLINCHESTNUT: You're causing so much goddamn damage in downtown.

Brother Devon: look Yeah.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Commissions breathing down my neck.

Brother Devon: So sort yeah, yeah. So there's that guy, right? And that guy kind of like ratchew out at the end of the first game, which is why Titus is in the death watch in the beginning of the game. um But in terms of just like overall lore, there's some interesting stuff going on with primaries and firstborns. It's a whole thing that I will not get into on this.

Brother Devon: Podcast today because it will be five hours long, but I

Phantom Libtard: No, let's go. um I want it all.

MERLINCHESTNUT: yeah continue

slimeballsteve: Come on, sell us, Nevin, sell us on it.

Phantom Libtard: and Unleash it.

Brother Devon: Refuse I refuse I refuse All I'm saying is Primaris Marines are definitely different than first board of stardies and when the Primaris Marines were brought in There was a lot of hesitancy

Phantom Libtard: Unleash it, Evan.

Brother Devon: about what the fuck's going on with these guys. Why are they are they replacing us? This is kind of fucked in the primaries. Marines on their end don't feel like, you know, their their chapter, their own chapter, trust them and all that stuff, because they are kind of bigger and better and more efficient Marines at the end of the day.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Yeah, continue.

Brother Devon: ah They're just like design better. You know, think like universe soldier.

MERLINCHESTNUT: I see they're getting their obsolete.

Brother Devon: ah Yeah, and there's some cool stuff in the lore with certain characters that are like Brother they're watering us down These guys are just ultra Marines in a different color Or like these aren't like our saviors. These are our replacements All that fun stuff and then if you want to look at it in the real meta sense all the first -born Marines are getting phased out in terms of the models and the units and

MERLINCHESTNUT: Oh, in like the actual game.

Brother Devon: So, yeah, yes, everybody's like, what the fuck? Because, you know, you get you get attached to that stuff and like you get attached to, you know, the traditional space marine helmet.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Yeah.

Brother Devon: Well, the Primaris Marine is like a different space marine helmet. And I'm not saying like.

slimeballsteve: Uh oh.

Brother Devon: I'm just saying aesthetically, that is like one of the big key differences, right? It's like if you look at a traditional space marine helmet that you've known that you've known, you know, in the 90s or 2000.

MERLINCHESTNUT: I mean, does it still look like, like a knight settlement? Like a knight, like medieval knight?

Brother Devon: Kind of like it's interesting because the first you guys got me going, but um

Phantom Libtard: i what We wanted it, Devin, so keep going.

Brother Devon: No, no, listen, listen, I'll say this space Marines, the first born space Marines, they're monks, right? They're just battle monks that are in fucking tank armor. And they just are just, you know, they pray and they have chaplains and they do all this stuff. And they just, you know, they're very like religiously giant meccas.

MERLINCHESTNUT: So you said Primaris Marine Helmet. What's the other? What's the first one?

Brother Devon: I think like, uh, uh, I think it's MK eight helmet. Let's see. Okay.

Phantom Libtard: Mortal Kombat 8, Mark 8.

Brother Devon: Space Marine helmet.

MERLINCHESTNUT: I'm just trying to get a look and see what's different because.

Brother Devon: Yeah. Right. So, so yeah, if you Google MK eight space Marine helmet, right? That's like the traditional space Marine helmet that like we're all pretty much used to.

MERLINCHESTNUT: OK.

Brother Devon: Like that was the original, like on that, This is like the one that most people are familiar with. And then if you Google Primaris, P -R -I -N -A -R -I -S marine helmet, it looks different.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Yeah.

Brother Devon: And they're just, that's like a ah key indicator of like, okay, this is a Primaris marine versus, you know, a traditional stardust helmet.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Hmm.

Brother Devon: And some people like the new design. Some people hate the new design. You know, it's ah it's it's interesting.

MERLINCHESTNUT: It's really just the vents in the front, right, that are different?

Brother Devon: Yeah, but like that old school design is is very, you know, it was a big deal was what I would.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Oh, this is okay. Wait, I'm seeing one. That's okay. That's a lot different now because it's like the head is thinner.

Brother Devon: Yeah, but like basically the primary Marines are like more tactical.

MERLINCHESTNUT: And there's like a big weird thing on top.

Brother Devon: Like almost think of a moment as like Special Forces and stuff and like so you're losing a little bit of that character. when it comes to, you know, like when it comes to that kind of vibe and design and some people are not fans of that change in direction ah that they're going in.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Okay.

Brother Devon: But anyway.

MERLINCHESTNUT: I mean, isn't it just more of the same, right? Like they're just doubling down on the whole aesthetic.

Brother Devon: Yeah, I mean, like, yes, at the end of the day, like that is pretty much what they're doing.

MERLINCHESTNUT: That's what I drink.

Brother Devon: They're just updating the look a little bit. And it's not to say that they don't have models that don't have like that traditional space wearing helmet that you're used to. But, ah you know, it's just people are like, oh, I miss my first born.

MERLINCHESTNUT: What I do?

Phantom Libtard: now it's what it that it's what the devin do miss it might have been might have recorded on your it might record on there

Brother Devon: It's my first born. Right.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Devin, you're kind of cutting in and out a little bit, but I got a little bit of what you said there.

Brother Devon: Yeah. Am I right?

slimeballsteve: Yeah.

Brother Devon: Oh no. Am I better now?

slimeballsteve: It it's it's it's had run the end of what you were saying really quick.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Yeah.

slimeballsteve: So he sounded like you were on crack at that moment.

MERLINCHESTNUT: I was like.

Brother Devon: Pretty much was, I think.

MERLINCHESTNUT: I think you said it that fast. I think you said it that fast.

Brother Devon: Yeah.

slimeballsteve: He just got so excited.

MERLINCHESTNUT: gentlemen

Brother Devon: Blah, blah, blah. Yeah, yeah. Wake up!

slimeballsteve: Grab the makeup.

Brother Devon: Spacer governments are going to complicate it!

MERLINCHESTNUT: Well, um, I gotta say, uh, when old, uh, daddy Galani gets ahold of his big money bag, he's going to throw a little bit to space Marine too, because, uh, I definitely want to play as well.

Brother Devon: Mm hmm.

MERLINCHESTNUT: It looks a lot like it looks great. It looks fucking great.

Brother Devon: and Yeah.

slimeballsteve: I like when you shoot your gun.

MERLINCHESTNUT: No shit. Really?

slimeballsteve: There's there's a thing where like you do a certain you do a heavy attack, and if you hit somebody, it like puts a little target on them, and if you like pull like your shoot button, it does this like super intense close up of you pointing your gun at them, and you just blast them away.

Brother Devon: Yeah, like, so like, think of like, when Blade shot that guy in the Deadpool and Wolverine.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Oh, okay. I see what you're saying.

Brother Devon: He like does one of those.

slimeballsteve: Yeah.

Brother Devon: It's like a weird zoom in and he just shoots their face off.

slimeballsteve: and you get health from it.

Brother Devon: And it feels good every time.

slimeballsteve: Mm -hmm.

MERLINCHESTNUT: That sounds cool.

Brother Devon: um But yeah, no space wearing two rules. I'm very into it. And basically the best thing I've ever played in my life.

Brother Devon: So, of course, of course.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Yeah. Okay. That makes sense.

slimeballsteve: Have you played Eshrobot yet?

Brother Devon: Uh, no, I have not. Uh, that is, I do want to play it. Like I actually really want to play it. Especially because it, uh, I don't know if you guys know this.

Brother Devon: I don't know if you guys have been on fantasy critic lately or not. Uh, but your boy snagged Astro bot and now you boys in first place. I'm basically once again, the king of video games.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Oof.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Wow, how do you you went you won last year too, right?

Brother Devon: I am the uncrowned King.

Phantom Libtard: Well, well, I put up I put up that meme, Devin of of Jason Momoa creeping up on Superman.

Brother Devon: Oh yeah.

Brother Devon: ah yeah well It's fine. It's fine. We can't all be winners, you know.

Phantom Libtard: I'll post it and I'll post it and shit talk.

MERLINCHESTNUT: what do you What do you got left, John? The year's ending, babe. but do you What do you got it in the tank?

Phantom Libtard: Flight Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 is slated to release in November.

MERLINCHESTNUT: yeah

Brother Devon: So John didn't get any new games since the initial draft. And now he's left with peanuts.

slimeballsteve: Dude that's a strat

Phantom Libtard: Yeah, but I have yeah, but I have money I made a couple I just made I just made a couple bits now that the whole thing is the what really sucks about this whole system is that you only you can only

MERLINCHESTNUT: Yeah, but those are airplane peanuts, because he's got flight simulator.

Brother Devon: Yeah, but you have You have money. You have money to buy, ah you know, McDonald's trash bag fries. like That's what you got. That's what you have all on offer. OK.

Phantom Libtard: You can only bid during a certain time during the week and then it locks you out of bidding for like three days. It's a really weird system.

Brother Devon: Well, it's like the bids don't become public or something, right?

Phantom Libtard: Yeah, and after they become public, then you can't put in any new bids for any other games like it's stupid.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Hmm.

Phantom Libtard: So you only have until.

Brother Devon: Well, you could put in i've I've been on multiple games at once.

Phantom Libtard: After Thursday.

Brother Devon: Well, like if I make my bid, right.

Phantom Libtard: No, you know, it doesn't let you it doesn't let you from Thursday to Friday. You're not allowed to bid on anything.

Brother Devon: All right, but I'm saying like if i I can make like five bids on Wednesday, if I want to make.

slimeballsteve: Right, yeah.

Phantom Libtard: Yeah, but what I'm saying is like. What if I only have time to look at this between Thursday and Saturday, you know?

Brother Devon: Let's say.

MERLINCHESTNUT: steve where are you in all this

Brother Devon: I mean, that's.

slimeballsteve: a Let's just say Space Marine ah messed me up a little bit.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Where's... Get it now.

Brother Devon: Yeah. So Steve counter picked space rain.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Oh, O 'Deary.

Brother Devon: and So home is going to lose like 12 points.

Phantom Libtard: Yeah. yeah

slimeballsteve: Dude, i was back I was banking on this game not coming out. I was putting Space Marine 2 in the same column that Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines 2 was in.

Brother Devon: Well, Steve was like, Hey, uh, yeah, I just, uh,

MERLINCHESTNUT: Wow. Holy shit.

Phantom Libtard: And how does it calculate how does it calculate the points that you get with a score?

MERLINCHESTNUT: And you said...

Brother Devon: So any points over 70 get you one point. So 70 to 89 will get you one point. And then any points 90 or above, double your points.

Brother Devon: So for Astrobot, I got a score of 95.

Phantom Libtard: oh

MERLINCHESTNUT: I will your pleasure.

Brother Devon: So I got 30 points for that. But like this other game, like nine souls got 84. So I got 14 points from that. So.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Nine souls?

Brother Devon: I got a.

MERLINCHESTNUT: What the fuck is that?

slimeballsteve: It's like a indie game with a fox.

Brother Devon: I don't know, it's just some fucking game I picked.

slimeballsteve: Dude, Devin doesn't care about the games he picks.

Brother Devon: Just some game I picked because I'm fucking awesome because I'm awesome at picking games.

slimeballsteve: Devin jevin just slaps meat into the furnace and just lets it roast until it gets him a dub.

MERLINCHESTNUT: oh He's got the he's got the crown But John's got flight simulator coming out soon And I'm gonna give it a good review because I love that motherfucker.

Brother Devon: Yeah, well, the thing was, so this is what I and.

slimeballsteve: He does, he does.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Oh, yeah There go

Brother Devon: Listen, the only reason, the only reason I'm really bragging about this is because John basically ruled this entire competition with an iron fist by lazily picking, by auto drafting.

Phantom Libtard: Not looking at it, I just uh, I just put in a couple bits so see

Brother Devon: Yeah. Yeah. All right. Good. Good. But, but basically up until this week.

Phantom Libtard: The thing is, I have all the money left. Nobody has any money left.

Brother Devon: Yeah. Yeah. But up until this week, John, just like fucking. had like his his auto draft to go and he was clearly beating everybody.

Brother Devon: And it was a knife in my chest until I hit big Vasterbot. Because as we all know, hard work beats talent and talent doesn't work hard.

MERLINCHESTNUT: I'm gonna be honest with you, Devin. Flight simulator, I'm gonna give it at least a nine on my site.

MERLINCHESTNUT: At least, at least a nine.

Brother Devon: Now, that being said, listen, I am definitely counting my chickens because Also on my list is Silent Hill 2 Remake, which is, you know, I'm rolling the dice of that one.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Oh, good for you.

Phantom Libtard: I mean, that i mean that's it that's like that's a gamble, right? So it's got to be what? It's got to be over 70 for you to get points.

Brother Devon: That's a, that's a big game. Yeah. So, so for example, ah like a squirrel with a gun, Sten got this game squirrel with a gun, scored a 66, so he lost four points.

Phantom Libtard: It'll be over 70, right?

MERLINCHESTNUT: ah

Brother Devon: Uh, Cassina Frank stone rain picked that one. Uh, the game that Steve was like, this game is a lot of fun. I'm really enjoying it. Uh, he, he has, well, he was actually negative one points.

Brother Devon: Uh, now he's down to zero points for that because it only scored a 70.

MERLINCHESTNUT: So you got a point from Stallone.

Brother Devon: He got zero points for that. Yeah.

slimeballsteve: Yeah Frank Stallone got nothing yeah he ended up just a wussig A

MERLINCHESTNUT: Frank Stallone got nothing?

Brother Devon: Yeah. Well, I mean, it got a 70. But for him that that netted him only, you know, zero points, which is better than the negative two that it was like two days ago.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Oh, wow.

slimeballsteve: 90 will get you 20 points Yeah

Brother Devon: Exactly. Yeah.

MERLINCHESTNUT: So Devon, how much are you leading John by?

Brother Devon: So. ah So I have 73 points.

MERLINCHESTNUT: How many points exactly?

Brother Devon: John is 58 right now.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Oh boy.

Phantom Libtard: Yeah, but i have i don't yeah but i don't have i have four open I have four open slots I can fill my roster with.

slimeballsteve: Devin sitting pretty.

Brother Devon: Yeah. Yeah, I'm sitting pretty right.

Brother Devon: Yes.

Brother Devon: Yeah.

MERLINCHESTNUT: What are you going to pick?

Brother Devon: The problem that John's running into is John.

slimeballsteve: And you have $75.

Phantom Libtard: So there's a couple. And I have $75.

Brother Devon: Yeah, so but this is the this is John's issue right now.

slimeballsteve: The running out of games.

Brother Devon: Now, granted, I don't know what he bid on. But the issue that John's running into is that, you know, a lot of the good shit's already been picked. So John's got to put his hard hat on.

Phantom Libtard: um I'll tell you you want me to tell you what I bid on I on bid on Dead Rising and um Monument Valley 3 is coming out Which is a sequel to a very highly well, they like shadow dropped it so nobody really knew it was coming out until like what a couple weeks ago Yeah Steve's full

Brother Devon: Yeah, you know, I could probably look at it, right?

slimeballsteve: Would you bid on?

Brother Devon: It's current bids.

slimeballsteve: Okay. That's good. My bad.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Nobody picked up Dead Rising?

Brother Devon: No, I guess not.

slimeballsteve: Yeah.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Oh, look at you.

slimeballsteve: Yeah. I'm full. I'm full, man.

Brother Devon: Yeah, Steve's full. I have like three dollars left.

MERLINCHESTNUT: You did it.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Steve, what place are you are you in?

Phantom Libtard: Yeah.

slimeballsteve: Right now I'm sitting on fourth place, ah but I'm um slated to be third.

Brother Devon: Season.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Who's in third right now?

slimeballsteve: Rain.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Oh, boy.

Brother Devon: Brain, but Steve, I don't know if I mean, you might you might drop because space marine hasn't hit you yet.

MERLINCHESTNUT: He never wins those.

slimeballsteve: You think I'm gonna drop?

Brother Devon: Yeah, space ring two hasn't.

slimeballsteve: Space Marine hasn't hit me, but you know what? Space Marine has lost a point since I last checked. It was the same score as Helldivers 2. It is now one point lower than Helldivers 2.

Brother Devon: It's bullshit, you're going to have like 20 points by the end of this.

slimeballsteve: You know, I'm gonna have more points.

Brother Devon: Which, yeah, which actually it's still going to put you.

slimeballsteve: I'm gonna have even more points by the end of this.

Brother Devon: Uh.

MERLINCHESTNUT: So Steve, you're pulling bronze. John and Devin are fighting it out in the street.

slimeballsteve: See, dev Devin's sitting pretty because he picked Fantasy VII Rebirth and ah Astrobot.

Brother Devon: Yeah.

slimeballsteve: The only thing we have to hope for is this is another stinker year for Call of Duty and Silent Hill 2 Remake is officially, um no, I'm sure it's cool.

Phantom Libtard: I don't know man, those videos have seen a call Deater making me want to play it.

Brother Devon: Yeah.

slimeballsteve: I'm sure it's cool.

Brother Devon: No, but like last year, Call of Duty got like fucking a 50.

Phantom Libtard: I don't know.

Brother Devon: It like lost somebody a lot of points.

slimeballsteve: Yeah.

MERLINCHESTNUT: And what is the penalty for coming in last?

slimeballsteve: um we We tattoo your butt.

Brother Devon: We spit on you, I think.

MERLINCHESTNUT: You get tat your butt tattooed.

slimeballsteve: Get a bad tattoo.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Oh.

Brother Devon: i'm Just saying man if Tim got a trophy for picking bad movies, I should definitely get a trophy for being the best video game picker and I Gotta buy my own trophy Yeah, buy my own trophy I'm as well just give myself a damn award Yeah, oh Dude it's gonna be Well, you know what we'll wait wait a lot official

slimeballsteve: We'll buy the trophy. You've run the tournament, King.

MERLINCHESTNUT: What are they going to get tattooed on their butt? Can they pick? Can they pick?

slimeballsteve: The winner the winner gets to pick.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Okay. The winner gets the pick. So, Devin, you get to pick the butt tattoo. Oh, boy.

Brother Devon: Because again, I'm talking a lot of shit, but I could literally.

MERLINCHESTNUT: What if it's Titus's face and his mouth is the butthole?

slimeballsteve: Oh.

slimeballsteve: It's just tight ass.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Titus! Yes!

slimeballsteve: Yeah, there you go.

MERLINCHESTNUT: You would love that, Devin.

Brother Devon: Yeah, and ah real quick, though. um I did start the quarry after I played Robocop.

slimeballsteve: Mm hmm.

Brother Devon: Robocop, a lot of fun. I think I talked about that last week.

Phantom Libtard: What's the quarry?

Brother Devon: The quarry is the game by the guys that made Until Dawn. So it was the game. They made a bunch of games after that, but yeah, they made the quarry and then their next game after that or their next, I guess.

slimeballsteve: Rank stone.

Phantom Libtard: and

Phantom Libtard: they like the blum They're like the Blumhouse of video games.

Brother Devon: Honestly, kind of, yeah.

slimeballsteve: Yeah, they kinda are. You're not wrong.

Brother Devon: Yeah, so and then their newest game was the casting of Frank Stone, which Steve is currently playing.

slimeballsteve: I beat that twice.

Brother Devon: Yeah, twice.

slimeballsteve: I beat it twice. i did I did one run and then I did another run.

Brother Devon: What's the what were the differences between your runs?

slimeballsteve: ah It's just who lives and dies at the end.

Brother Devon: Did you do? OK, you didn't do like a I'm going to do a shithead run.

slimeballsteve: I do wanna do that. I do still wanna do that. um the um Yes.

Brother Devon: Did everybody. All right. You don't get specifics, but.

slimeballsteve: I'm gonna get real specific.

Brother Devon: In your initial run, how many people died?

slimeballsteve: Two.

Brother Devon: Two. And then in your second run, did you save everyone?

slimeballsteve: More people died.

Brother Devon: Was that on purpose or were you?

slimeballsteve: ah Because I kind of wanted to see the other choices, and because of those other choices, I ate a lot of crap.

Brother Devon: ah Okay, okay. Okay, all right.

slimeballsteve: um the thing The thing though is, um the casting of Frank Stone is stow. Frank Stone is very much a game that I imagine people who are playing Dead by Daylight enjoy.

slimeballsteve: um I don't know if it's gonna be something that resonates with people who are not ah into like that Lauren stuff. um

Brother Devon: So, man, I saw those hooks and I got I was interested.

slimeballsteve: I mean, that's the thing. like It hard ties into that universe. um But like I can't imagine someone who has no idea what that game is, playing that and being like, oh, this is cool. You're probably like, what the hell? They don't explain anything? what Huh?

Brother Devon: Is Frank Stone a cool killer?

slimeballsteve: ah Frank Stone is neat. And it kind of, ah the casting of Frank Stone has kind of like a double meaning on it, where it is both a movie term, as well as a like actual like casting of like, um like you putting something into like a, like a, like a molt.

Brother Devon: OK.

Brother Devon: ah mol molten metal.

slimeballsteve: Yeah. So it is, it is kind of neat that they're, they're playing with that terminology, but um

Brother Devon: Okay.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Who is Frank Stone?

slimeballsteve: Frank Stone's just a metal worker who works in a steel mill, but also ah is a psycho serial killer who tries to kill a baby in the sixties.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Man I love that guy.

Brother Devon: Chris, he looks pretty cool.

slimeballsteve: Oh yeah.

Brother Devon: He has a cool little helmet.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Okay.

slimeballsteve: I would say this is a game that when it's $20, check it out.

Brother Devon: Oh, yeah, but

Brother Devon: Okay. But for you, uh, a DVD guy, you're like, you don't feel bad that you got a full price.

slimeballsteve: Yeah.

slimeballsteve: No, I don't feel bad. It was fun. It was fun. i yeah

Brother Devon: Yeah.

slimeballsteve: It's definitely like big teasing into like future characters that could be in Dead by Daylight, but that's the Mega Man character, Metal Man.

Brother Devon: Okay.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Metalman.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Yeah, Metalman will be in it.

Brother Devon: but

slimeballsteve: But I still think Quarry and Until Dawn are gonna be like the more um the more memorable of the super massive games.

MERLINCHESTNUT: You think the story in Until Dawn is a little better, it's a little tighter?

Brother Devon: alright

MERLINCHESTNUT: Because I think most of those games, they kind of ah really depend on the story and the characters, right?

slimeballsteve: i think

slimeballsteve: Yeah, I think i think it's it might be a little more fun.

MERLINCHESTNUT: That's all it is.

slimeballsteve: um You know, you got like yeah got like eight monsters gunning you down in it until dawn.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Okay. there Yeah.

Brother Devon: Alright.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Yes. It's a lot of problems.

Brother Devon: Jeez.

slimeballsteve: quaria Quarry, I don't remember. Quarry has like a few, like there is a wolf man in Quarry, if I remember correctly, right?

Brother Devon: i I don't so I in my time of the quarry because obviously I i put it down from space marine, but I'm still doing like the like we just got to the part where we all made a bunch of bad decisions like let's just stay here after dark.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Whoa.

slimeballsteve: o

Brother Devon: ah So like nothing.

Phantom Libtard: but

Brother Devon: they We play truth.

slimeballsteve: the

MERLINCHESTNUT: yeah

Brother Devon: We're playing truth or dare around the fire pit. And then everybody's getting mad at everybody and then split up. So I'm assuming people are going to bodies. We're going to start dropping soon is what I think was going to happen.

slimeballsteve: Hmm Ted Raimi's in that too

MERLINCHESTNUT: What did somebody know?

Brother Devon: Yeah.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Is he the wolfman?

Brother Devon: Yeah. Ted Raimi's in there. It was kind of cool. I was I was playing with Jenny and I was like, Jenny, what should I say? And then she was just making every bad decision.

Phantom Libtard: Ha ha ha!

MERLINCHESTNUT: and Perfect.

Brother Devon: And I was like, yes, this is

slimeballsteve: Doesn't that have a a die together mode?

Brother Devon: and does, but, you know, I'm just sitting there with her washing and I'm like, Jenny, do I want to be flirty or do I want to be an asshole?

slimeballsteve: I feel like that's a good game to like sit down.

Brother Devon: She's like.

slimeballsteve: like

Brother Devon: Yeah, you know, it's a nice little. ah Yeah, it it's a cool game. I'm into it.

slimeballsteve: Yeah.

Brother Devon: But ah yeah, so core is good.

Phantom Libtard: yeah yeah

Brother Devon: ah Still trucking through Fargo. You just watch the puppet episode. Or the doll episode, I guess.

MERLINCHESTNUT: The doll episode.

Brother Devon: Fargo season five the Yeah, yeah Literally watched out like right before I jumped on and then ah I saw Yeah, and then I saw ah I watched Beetlejuice Beetlejuice This weekend so I'll Beetlejuice a Beetlejuice

slimeballsteve: The doll episode?

MERLINCHESTNUT: Oh!

slimeballsteve: Oh.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Margot.

MERLINCHESTNUT: God, what a show that is!

Phantom Libtard: Yeah, yeah.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Oh, cool.

slimeballsteve: You did? You saw Beetlejuice?

MERLINCHESTNUT: I hear it's not that bad. I hear it's not as awful as people.

Brother Devon: It is an interesting movie. I said somewhere somewhere on the discord, I said it is one of the most self -indulgent movies I've ever seen in my life.

Brother Devon: But despite that, yeah, no, no, but it's like Tim Burton going like, I don't care at all.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Oh, it's a Tim Burton movie, I see.

Brother Devon: Like what's a plot line? Like, fuck you. I don't I don't give a shit. But like despite that, I still walked away from being like, I still really like really enjoyed that. like I still had a lot of fun with it.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Okay.

Brother Devon: But like like I'm actually convinced, Chris, you would hate this. like more than this might like If you saw this, you might be like, this I hate this movie more than any other movie this year.

MERLINCHESTNUT: um

Brother Devon: I was like, yeah, that's kind of what I think.

Phantom Libtard: I I don't I don't think that's shocking at all to be honest

Brother Devon: I mean, no, I think like, because most people are like, yeah,

MERLINCHESTNUT: Now How's Keenan and how's Michael Keenan that really depends if that if he's good I might not feel that way I like him quite a bit Yeah, okay She's always good man

Brother Devon: He's awesome, right? theres Yeah. Well, I mean, I think, to be honest, he does a he does a lot of heavy lifting, right? So the the best parts of the movie are Keaton, Catherine O 'Hara, who I really kind of think should be nominated for this movie.

Brother Devon: She's so good at this. And I really liked Willem Dafoe in this.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Wow see I mean you got some good ones there.

slimeballsteve: I love the carpet.

Brother Devon: He's a lot of fun. but

MERLINCHESTNUT: They're good actors

Brother Devon: Yeah, but like the movie itself is like it reads or it it views like Tim Burton was working on a Beetlejuice 2 script for like 10 years and he had all these drafts.

Brother Devon: And then he said, you know what? I'm just going to do every one of them. I don't care. And then. Like, honestly, it was it watched like ah like an American Horror Story season where there's a lot of interesting plots that then just fall off and die.

Brother Devon: It just rap like.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Hmm.

Brother Devon: Very like it was like narrative whiplash. It was like, oh, oh, oh, we're just done with that one. Okay.

MERLINCHESTNUT: See, the thing about Beetlejuice, what I think the original works so well is they don't linger on certain things like they just kind of give you a little.

Brother Devon: Sure. Why not?

Brother Devon: Yeah.

Brother Devon: They definitely do not linger on the lot these. spot linesing

MERLINCHESTNUT: Well, like that's I mean, it's like a quick little scene like. These are the ghosts that have been exercised and it ties into the end. Like it's very, everything ties in to the very end of the movie, of course, but they don't go too hard on the afterlife.

Brother Devon: Yeah.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Like it's little vignette scenes.

Brother Devon: This is very there's a lot of afterlife in this, which is fine. Like I do like that. It's a very interesting part of, you know, the.

MERLINCHESTNUT: See a lot of sandworms.

Brother Devon: You do see some sandworms, ah but like the Monica Belushi who plays.

MERLINCHESTNUT: That's Beetlejuice Ride 1, a la, la Dune Part 2.

Brother Devon: No, he does not. He does not do that.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Damn it.

Brother Devon: Uh, but like, dude, there's just scenes where like, he's like Tim Burton's like, I want Beetlejuice to just tell this entire story, uh, with a very badly overdubbed Spanish like voice.

Brother Devon: Like we're just going to, he's just going to be speaking in Spanish and you're like, okay.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Oh, Jesus. That's rough.

Brother Devon: And then it happens like three times and you're like, why, why are we, why are we doing this?

MERLINCHESTNUT: That's not good.

Brother Devon: And then, uh, I don't try to think of the name of the song. Do you guys know? Remember the song MacArthur Park? It's the.

Brother Devon: OK, you know, the Weird Al song, the parody of Jurassic Park.

slimeballsteve: Yes.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Oh, of course.

Brother Devon: It's that song, right? That song is like an eight minute rock opera, basically. And Tim Burton's like, yeah I want that entire seven minute sequence just like in my movie.

MERLINCHESTNUT: It's empty.

Brother Devon: and It's just and like crazy shit's happening, but you're like Okay, okay, and it's Beetlejuice. So Beetlejuice is doing weird crazy random Beetlejuice type shit and it's entertaining ah but it's just You know, it's ah it's just very much he just did he's say I'm doing everything I want to do I don't I do not care I don't care.

MERLINCHESTNUT: empty

MERLINCHESTNUT: It's all style, no substance.

Brother Devon: Oh this character that you think is a big deal has three lines on the movie sure does and Is that problem going to be solved very quickly and randomly? Absolutely. Why not?

Brother Devon: Fuck it. I don't care. Like you're going to see it's Beetlejuice. And it seems like that was the case, because I think it made a second biggest opening of the year, I think.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Wow. Is it really hard?

Brother Devon: I don't think so, um because there's definitely there's one F bomb.

MERLINCHESTNUT: I can't remember. PG -13, right?

MERLINCHESTNUT: Okay, it's probably not.

Brother Devon: Uh, and then he, he, then he says fuck again, but it's literally bleeped out. Uh, which is, you know, done for comedic effect for sure.

Brother Devon: But, uh, I don't know. Um, I don't know. Yeah, it's, it's weird. I, I did just walk out and be like, yeah, I really liked that. Like I had a lot of, yeah, PG 13.

MERLINCHESTNUT: PG -13? Okay. Yeah, I mean that's, I think the original was too.

Brother Devon: Yeah, well, that may have been like PG at the time.

Phantom Libtard: Was it scary at all?

Brother Devon: No, no. Well, actually, so um there is a fun. ah

Phantom Libtard: was wednesday Was Wednesday good in it?

Brother Devon: Yes, she she was.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Yeah, the original Beetlejuice PG.

Brother Devon: Yeah, but I think that was like before PG -13 was a thing.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Yeah, it was.

slimeballsteve: Yeah, was that before template doom?

MERLINCHESTNUT: no 1988 no right temple doom came out before that yeah 84 temple doom came out 88 it's interesting

Brother Devon: I don't know, like I'm sure that stuff took a while to kind of get going, probably. But they so there's a very so the big kind of moving plot point here is Charles, played by Jeffrey Jones, dies.

slimeballsteve: That is interesting.

Brother Devon: But he's also in the movie

MERLINCHESTNUT: oh they they couldn't put that guy in there oh no okay okay

slimeballsteve: Yeah.

Brother Devon: know But he's also in the movie, a shocking amount, but they sidestep it in a very fun way. Because Jeffrey Jones is obviously not in the movie, but his character is, but it's, it's a lot of fun with how they do it. But that's like, it's pretty gory, like, it's, it can be pretty gory in the sense of not like scary, but like,

Brother Devon: It's a lot of just aortas shooting blood out everywhere for comedic effect type stuff.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Whoa.

Brother Devon: So I don't know. I don't know if the kids can handle that.

MERLINCHESTNUT: I'm definitely, I'm definitely gonna watch this. I'm just not gonna, you know, pay more than my streaming service than whatever it comes on.

Brother Devon: Yeah.

MERLINCHESTNUT: You know what I mean? Like, I will watch this max.

slimeballsteve: Probably be Max.

Brother Devon: Oh, yeah.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Yeah, it's gonna be max.

Brother Devon: Yeah, but ah not man.

MERLINCHESTNUT: I'm gonna see it.

Brother Devon: Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice. It's a it's a good old fuck for me.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Like, I'm not gonna watch the crow at all, right?

Phantom Libtard: Thank you.

slimeballsteve: Not until you're Galanium Crow.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Like, I don't even go out of here, crow.

Brother Devon: Chris, go watch the crow. Come on, just watch it.

MERLINCHESTNUT: I actually watched a ah breakdown about it on YouTube. And apparently, like about 60 to 70 percent of that movie is like a romance. Like they're building this. That's just like awful.

MERLINCHESTNUT: It's just like the the worst dialogue ever.

Brother Devon: Yeah, no, no, it's it's bad. Yeah, I saw it. It's really bad.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Oh, yeah, you saw that's right. You did see it.

Brother Devon: Yeah, and it's it's just stupid.

MERLINCHESTNUT: um

MERLINCHESTNUT: It's like they say it's it's so poorly written. There's what they say. There's one good scene. I think it's they said the highway scene. was pretty decent where you get yeah like they say it's visually cool but like anytime they talk in the movie they're like oh yeah it's bad it's no good and then I watched something about borderlands and they're like it is like they came out so close together that people are comparing them and they're like oh crows way better

Brother Devon: oh Oh, yeah, when he's like it's like he's initially trying to like kill these people, but. Yeah.

MERLINCHESTNUT: like Like everybody is unanimous.

Brother Devon: Well, really, dude,

MERLINCHESTNUT: Yeah. Like Borderlands is boring. That's what like everybody is saying.

Brother Devon: OK, I was going to say like there is a part of me that does kind of want to watch it. Borderlands, I mean, like.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Well, yeah, I mean, because it's so bad. Sure.

Brother Devon: Yeah, yeah, I just heard so many terrible things about it.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Definitely. I feel the same way. Like I want to see why, you know, because like even with that IP does carry just

Brother Devon: Yeah.

MERLINCHESTNUT: And, you know, like a ah a bare minimum of charm, how you could really make it so boring. That's really fascinating to me, but, um, not so much to the general public because I'm moving folk and bowl.

Brother Devon: Mhm.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Hey, you know what I learned actually to something really interesting. LA Romulus, that movie is doing great business. Uh, it's, it's particularly, uh, globally.

Brother Devon: Yeah.

MERLINCHESTNUT: And I found out that China has been easing up their, their,

Brother Devon: Oh!

Phantom Libtard: China.

MERLINCHESTNUT: China has been easing up their their their censorship and There they allowed our rated No, I don't think it's because of their economies in the shitter So they're trying to build up as much money as they possibly can and they're allowing our rated movies to come to their movie theaters and Alien Romulus was one of the first Yes, yes, it was and that's why it's just making so much goddamn money

Phantom Libtard: Because a alien.

slimeballsteve: Really?

MERLINCHESTNUT: It's mostly because people are in China. This is like the first our rated movie. A lot of them are seeing Or at least are rated in a theater, you know, I'm sure they get like pirated copies of stuff but like yeah that that's gonna be a thing now moving forward where our rated movies are now gonna Be more of a global box office hit Absolutely, definitely

Brother Devon: OK. Yeah.

Brother Devon: So they might actually be successful.

MERLINCHESTNUT: And I think Deadpool Wolverine is just, you know, it's even more proof of the pudding, right?

Brother Devon: I mean.

Brother Devon: Yeah.

MERLINCHESTNUT: It's just now everybody's gonna be making R rated movies, which is, I'm happy. um That makes me happy. I got no problem with that. um It'll be interesting too, because I think what will happen is you'll just get this huge dichotomy between ultra kitty kitty movies and super adult oriented films.

MERLINCHESTNUT: And I think a lot of PG -13 films that would originally have been popular aren't going to be as popular as they once were.

Brother Devon: yeah

Brother Devon: Yeah.

MERLINCHESTNUT: um So you get movies like that Minecraft movie that's coming out, which is very much aimed to kids, like 1 million percent aimed at the children.

Brother Devon: Yeah. Do that, like, looks really like really bad.

slimeballsteve: Dude, I don't know who that's aimed. I feel like they're hoping they're going to get the Sonic the Hedgehog backlash, but for the entire movie.

Brother Devon: Dude, you know, you know, it's funny, you know, that like, perhaps I've treated you too harshly meme for like Thanos.

slimeballsteve: Mm -hmm.

Brother Devon: It's like, as soon as that came out, it was like me watching Borderlands and it's like, perhaps I've treated you too harshly.

MERLINCHESTNUT: a I just...

Brother Devon: Like, dude, maybe man, I don't know. This is, uh, this is pretty horrible. Um, that one. Yeah. Like, uh, I mean, I'm, I'm too ma sure emotionally mature to get mad about a Minecraft movie trailer.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Yeah, like why would you get mad about it?

slimeballsteve: Mm hmm.

Brother Devon: But like, yeah, I saw that. and I was like, this looks like it looks really bad.

Phantom Libtard: It looks bad.

slimeballsteve: Yeah, it it feels it feels like the the after the song or after the Mario movie, it feels like all the studios were probably clamoring or clamoring to grab whatever intent like video game kid licenses that they could grab and they got Minecraft and they just went.

MERLINCHESTNUT: It sure does.

Brother Devon: Yeah.

MERLINCHESTNUT: It sure does.

Brother Devon: And ugly. Yeah.

slimeballsteve: Oh, I hate this. This is stupid.

MERLINCHESTNUT: yeah

slimeballsteve: And it's like, keep in mind, like Minecraft is like one of the biggest franchises ever, like gaming wise.

Brother Devon: Yeah.

MERLINCHESTNUT: And it's crazy and it has like a story too where you find like the Ender Dragon all that

slimeballsteve: So, yeah, the well, that's the thing.

Brother Devon: Yeah.

slimeballsteve: they've had They've had Minecraft story mode, which was the, um what was that? Pat, oh, Pat and Oswald was like the main character.

Brother Devon: ah Pat Oswald, Patton Oswald. Yeah. And yeah, like a there are two tale tale games of that. And I actually like very much enjoyed that first one.

slimeballsteve: I've always wanted to play it.

Brother Devon: I really liked it.

slimeballsteve: It's, you know, telltale. They always crush it.

Brother Devon: It's awesome, dude. it It really is like really good, in my opinion. um But yet, you know, you could just do an animated film in that style.

slimeballsteve: Yeah, like it's kind of weird.

Brother Devon: And they were just like, let's dress up Jason Momoa in.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Like the Lego movie or something.

slimeballsteve: Yeah.

Brother Devon: Yeah, exactly. Right. But instead, they're like, let's dress up Jason Momoa in some pink stuff. And because that's going to be funny. And they just put a bunch of actors in ah in a green green screen.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Honestly, I think digitally.

MERLINCHESTNUT: I think digitally animated movies are more expensive though.

Brother Devon: That's all.

Brother Devon: God. Well, yeah.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Because they have to hire more people to do it.

Brother Devon: Yeah. like And like they look ugly, like they're square, but like not really like.

slimeballsteve: they They all have the weird Sonic teeth, which which makes me think of that. I'm like, why why would you give everything in this game like or in this game movie that like, look, when mind when when Minecraft has a very specific look.

Brother Devon: Sonic teeth.

MERLINCHESTNUT: I think this whole movie is made for, cause they want it to be mean.

Brother Devon: Yeah.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Like there's no, there's no substance to it.

slimeballsteve: You might be right.

MERLINCHESTNUT: It's not going to be, it's not going to have a story or characters that are interesting. So they just are going to create these like contrived scenes to set up these visuals that people can steal and use online.

MERLINCHESTNUT: That's, that's what I see when I watched Australia.

slimeballsteve: they They bought the Minecraft license knowing it was already like a massive like license. And they were like, let's that's do what... Who's that guy who used to make all those shitty video game movies?

MERLINCHESTNUT: Yui Bowl?

Brother Devon: Oh, yeah, ooey bowl, yeah.

slimeballsteve: Yui Bull. Yeah, maybe they're doing the Yui Bull thing, but they're doing it on like a monumental scale with Minecraft.

MERLINCHESTNUT: I'm glad you brought him up, because he's back.

slimeballsteve: What?

MERLINCHESTNUT: He's back, baby!

slimeballsteve: What is he doing?

MERLINCHESTNUT: Baby, he's back!

Brother Devon: Oh,

slimeballsteve: Who let him out? Who let him out of jail?

MERLINCHESTNUT: Yeah! Yes! Yes! Yes! Whoo! He's trying to crowdfund Postal, too, but it failed, and it's not happening.

Brother Devon: oh so he's not back.

MERLINCHESTNUT: He's not back! God damn it! Son of a bitch!

slimeballsteve: Wait, we stopped him? Yui Bull has been stopped?

MERLINCHESTNUT: Yeah, within the the the whole time I was talking, and it just ended.

Brother Devon: Yes.

slimeballsteve: Oh, he just lit, okay, that was, thank God.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Yeah, yeah.

Brother Devon: Yeah. You just watched the countdown of his failed Kickstarter. Let's go to zero. Didn't do it. Sorry.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Yeah, it did not not go back.

Brother Devon: Did you get any of that money for a failed Kickstarter?

slimeballsteve: No.

Brother Devon: It would be missing by like 10 bucks.

MERLINCHESTNUT: No, I think, from what I've heard, it was around the $1 ,200 mark is where they ended up out of like 15 or 5 million.

Brother Devon: Oh, good.

MERLINCHESTNUT: I think they wanted 5 million.

Brother Devon: That's what he deserves.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Yikes.

Brother Devon: That's literally what.

MERLINCHESTNUT: yeah Yikes.

Brother Devon: Yeah.

MERLINCHESTNUT: For a postal 2, $5 million for postal 2.

Brother Devon: That guy sucks. I'm so glad he's not making money.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Does he suck or is he actually a genius?

Brother Devon: Yeah.

MERLINCHESTNUT: you

Brother Devon: Maybe maybe I'm wrong. Probably not.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Maybe you're wrong. Maybe you didn't do your research.

slimeballsteve: Do your research, Devin.

Brother Devon: I guess I should have. Yeah, I'm sorry. ah

MERLINCHESTNUT: Yeah, that guy sucks. And I'm glad he's not making another movie. I think we're all happy. I think we're all better off.

Brother Devon: back, baby.

slimeballsteve: He's back.

MERLINCHESTNUT: He's back!

slimeballsteve: Hey, you know what's not ever coming back? Probably. Concord.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Oh, what do you think? What? What?

slimeballsteve: Dude.

Brother Devon: Wait, why you got, why you got sad me like that, dude?

MERLINCHESTNUT: Come on.

slimeballsteve: you know You know why?

MERLINCHESTNUT: Come on.

slimeballsteve: Because you know we were talking about Astrobot.

Brother Devon: That was a con head, dude.

slimeballsteve: We were talking about Astrobot. We were talking about how Devin's going to win the fantasy tournament. Space Marine 2 came out. Oh, this is Devin week. Oh, this is Devin week. You know what, Devin?

slimeballsteve: Your golden pony PlayStation. They fucked up this week.

Brother Devon: Not did they? Because that was old news. All that good shit happened after.

slimeballsteve: ah just You're right. You're right. You're right. You're right.

MERLINCHESTNUT: White to slay clean I Mean how many people actually bought it though?

Brother Devon: Yeah, that's what that's what a karmically completely in the black now, like no bad things happen. Yeah, no, that game came out and.

slimeballsteve: They evened it out.

Brother Devon: I do that game so weird.

slimeballsteve: Dude, no one, that's the thing.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Yeah, that a new record

Brother Devon: Yeah, well, so yeah, so yeah, officially.

slimeballsteve: It is crazy. That game lasted 11 days.

Brother Devon: Yeah, officially they have no, no, the day before beat up by like two days or something like that.

slimeballsteve: Yes.

slimeballsteve: What's that though?

Brother Devon: Like, like, no,

Phantom Libtard: Yeah, but the day yeah, but the day before it wasn't like a triple a like fucking console console publisher.

Brother Devon: no no, you're right. You're right. You're right. But if we're just talking about, if we're just talking about games that lived and died the day before died, like two days more quickly, a hundred percent, a hundred percent.

Phantom Libtard: And the day before was just a blatant fucking plagiarized mess.

Brother Devon: This is far and away the bigger failure. Like it's not even close. Uh, but yeah, no, so Concord, Sony said, all right, we're officially shutting down, uh, Concord, uh, to reassess and, you know, we'll decide on what the next steps will be.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Pull the plug.

Phantom Libtard: Yeah, we heard all the same shit when Anthem came out.

Brother Devon: Blah, blah, blah.

Brother Devon: Yeah.

Phantom Libtard: Oh, we're gonna reassess stuff.

Brother Devon: But, uh, yeah, exactly. But yeah, so they are, they refunded.

Phantom Libtard: We'll be back. We'll come back stronger, guys. Thanks for all the support.

slimeballsteve: Yeah, that's the interesting part.

MERLINCHESTNUT: jersey strong

slimeballsteve: They pulled it and they refund.

MERLINCHESTNUT: We can't play it at all.

Brother Devon: Yeah.

slimeballsteve: Like you can't play Concord.

Brother Devon: Yeah. Sure. Refund, dude.

Phantom Libtard: It's awesome.

Brother Devon: Yeah.

MERLINCHESTNUT: It's done.

slimeballsteve: No, dude, they stole it.

Brother Devon: Now, no, like.

Phantom Libtard: No.

slimeballsteve: They took it from you.

Phantom Libtard: Shit, yeah, there was like a was a TikTok challenge or whatever they called these days.

Brother Devon: Well, they give you money back, but yeah.

slimeballsteve: You got your money back, but.

MERLINCHESTNUT: I have it waiting for me in my library.

Phantom Libtard: and

MERLINCHESTNUT: It's not there?

Phantom Libtard: Yeah, people were trying to plait the game before the server shut got shut down.

slimeballsteve: Yeah, people were jumping off the cliffs like to speed up matches.

MERLINCHESTNUT: at That's pretty cool.

Brother Devon: Yeah, it's free to actually.

MERLINCHESTNUT: I'm going to see the YouTube video about that soon.

Brother Devon: Yeah, but yeah, no, so they they killed it, canceled it, closed it.

Phantom Libtard: Got a plait.

Brother Devon: gave everybody their money back. So they're like, it's just one of those things where like.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Nice work, Devon.

Phantom Libtard: They said we can we can't live in a world where our game comes out the same year Shadow of the or tree comes out and we just can't kids you can't sleep at night.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Yeah.

Brother Devon: Yeah, they said we can't have this much of an L on our catalog, so we got to.

Phantom Libtard: We can't sleep at night Frankly we we don't understand how other developers push games out this year.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Yeah.

Phantom Libtard: Thank you for your time It's

Brother Devon: Favorite, we're going to pretend this didn't happen.

Phantom Libtard: crazy man

Brother Devon: Thank you and good night. Yeah, it is kind of wild. um So some people are like, obviously, they're just going to make it a ah free to play game. Maybe like.

Phantom Libtard: That's not gonna, I mean, that's, does that gonna change anything?

Brother Devon: a Yeah.

slimeballsteve: Dude, I think it's tainted, dude. I think it's just tainted for good, man.

Phantom Libtard: Like, I don't, they might just, yeah, they might just throw it in the in the ah and the graveyard.

slimeballsteve: This game had eight years of development and money put into it.

Brother Devon: Yeah.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Wow, how much money, Steve?

Brother Devon: Yeah, I think.

slimeballsteve: This was... This was expect, I don't know how much money specifically, but this was like on their, like their PlayStation business portfolio things. They had a big thing where they were like, these are our expected big, big blockbuster like franchises and Concord was on there.

Phantom Libtard: Huge tracks of land.

slimeballsteve: Huge tracks of land.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Why don't I own this?

Brother Devon: yeah Why don't I own this?

slimeballsteve: This is going to have, this is going to have one of those secret level episodes about it. There is an entire Concord episode.

Brother Devon: Yeah.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Oh my god.

Phantom Libtard: they said It's still coming out. They said I don't know which is a really interesting And yeah, so not only did they spend three billion dollars buying failing bungee But they spent all that money 200 million

MERLINCHESTNUT: to They're saying two north of 200 million.

slimeballsteve: Yeah. that's

MERLINCHESTNUT: My god.

slimeballsteve: Oh my god, dude.

Brother Devon: yeah Yeah, dude.

MERLINCHESTNUT: My god.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Let me tell you, John, i got a little I'm going to do a little Nostradamus work here. Craven's probably going to lose a buttload of money, too. So that's, god, I don't know how much they put into Craven.

Phantom Libtard: Oh, man, so so yeah, you're saying Sony's just like Hey, man, Astrobot, Astrobot's gonna carry Astrobot's gonna carry, dude.

Brother Devon: Were they like just that worried that like but Marvel was going to come out?

MERLINCHESTNUT: Yeah.

Brother Devon: Yeah, Asher about scary.

Phantom Libtard: They're gonna like yeah Yeah, you know if you get a 95 on Metacritic that that increases your console sales by exponential amounts Yeah

Brother Devon: It's fine.

MERLINCHESTNUT: it know It'll save them from craving.

slimeballsteve: I mean, remember though,

Brother Devon: It's fine. It's fine.

slimeballsteve: you're you're allowed to just exist exist one more year. That's what they let you do.

MERLINCHESTNUT: and effort

slimeballsteve: You get a free year. Uh, this is the interesting thing because like Sony has been like, was that Jim Ryan before he got kicked out before he got sacked.

Brother Devon: Thank

slimeballsteve: He made it a prerogative to have live service games.

Brother Devon: ah

slimeballsteve: And so it's like there's, there was Concord.

Brother Devon: Yeah.

slimeballsteve: There was the, what was the the paper monkey mask game where you're like stealing.

Brother Devon: That's an Ubisoft game, isn't it?

MERLINCHESTNUT: whoa

Brother Devon: ah Monkey e Heist game.

slimeballsteve: There was one that was called like money, money yoinkers or, and then there was also marathon.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Money yoinker!

Phantom Libtard: Paper monkey mask.

slimeballsteve: And those were like the three big tent pole live service games that they were kind of like danking on.

Phantom Libtard: Oh, man. Factions.

Brother Devon: That was stupid of me.

Phantom Libtard: Factions were supposed to come out.

slimeballsteve: Yeah.

Phantom Libtard: Yeah, like a lot of a lot of people are really like just disgruntled at the fact that factions got canceled for the like basically for this to be what Sony what Naughty Dog was making factions.

Brother Devon: but Yeah.

Phantom Libtard: into being and they canceled that.

MERLINCHESTNUT: two sorry <unk> Sorry, I can't hear about shitty games all the time.

slimeballsteve: Bless you.

Phantom Libtard: Yes, yeah, Chris is just allergic to failure.

slimeballsteve: Dude, he's allergic to allergic to losers.

Phantom Libtard: That's somebody's motto, allergic to failure.

MERLINCHESTNUT: He just starts sneezing. Sorry guys.

Phantom Libtard: It's wild.

slimeballsteve: They should have just made a Last of Us hero shooter.

Brother Devon: Yeah, what was that game you're talking about?

slimeballsteve: You could be Uncle Tommy.

Phantom Libtard: Yeah.

Brother Devon: Yeah, I thought it was an Ubisoft game, but maybe not. um Yeah, so.

Phantom Libtard: Or I don't know.

Phantom Libtard: Fucking something.

Brother Devon: It's just so weird, man, it's just one of those things where like nobody was that into it. Nobody thought it was a good idea.

Phantom Libtard: This man, we got Astrobot. Astrobot's the best game of the of the decade, I believe people were saying. the Greatest game of the decade.

MERLINCHESTNUT: I think it brought the, I think it saved gaming from what I've heard, right?

Brother Devon: I think ever think ever, yeah.

slimeballsteve: Fair games, Devin. The game is called Fair Games.

Brother Devon: That was it. Thank you.

MERLINCHESTNUT: It saved gaming, Astrobot. Gaming was dying.

Phantom Libtard: It was what Tenet it was what tene was, the movies.

Brother Devon: Oh, yeah, they're my fair games is a place to update.

Phantom Libtard: That's what Astrobot is.

Brother Devon: Yes, bad idea.

MERLINCHESTNUT: So who's going to buy Astrobot for real? Devin? You buying that?

Brother Devon: I definitely I would like to buy it.

Phantom Libtard: I haven't already bought it.

Brother Devon: I just got to not be spending previously frivolously.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Yeah, me too, man.

Phantom Libtard: Yeah, I mean, I watched.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Yeah, me too.

Phantom Libtard: Yeah, I watched some gameplay of it like it. All of this, the snob coming out on me, but like.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Oh boy, here we go.

Brother Devon: Ah, here it is.

slimeballsteve: so

Brother Devon: Let's go.

Phantom Libtard: I it really, it really just looked like it really just looked like the other Astro Bot game again, like it didn't like nothing really like.

MERLINCHESTNUT: There we go.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Are you going to spit on me?

slimeballsteve: Spit on my couch, spit on me.

Brother Devon: Yes.

Phantom Libtard: I just don't. Yeah, I just I don't know. Like I mean, I guess you got to play it to like experience it or whatever. But like just the like I was watching a bunch of twitch streams of Space Marine to like this last week and and Astrobot the last few days.

Phantom Libtard: And I'm like, yeah, like I mean, it looks fun like the the original Astrobot of demo, whatever you want to call it for PS5 was really fun.

Brother Devon: Yeah.

slimeballsteve: Yeah.

Phantom Libtard: Like it was really fun. But like it just looked like more of that.

slimeballsteve: He was free too.

Phantom Libtard: Like nothing really likes Yeah, nothing really um nothing really stuck out for me.

MERLINCHESTNUT: I'll be real with you John. I'm not really. I mean I bought a Sony PlayStation 5. I don't really. I'm not into platforming games. So like this is not.

Phantom Libtard: That's saying I'm in the platforming games, Chris.

MERLINCHESTNUT: I know you know better than me and I to the to me I see this I'm like I don't. This is not why I bought a PS 5. Right.

slimeballsteve: Yeah. Anybody who's like a platform gamer is 100 % probably not going to be like, you're going to have, you're going to have a, like a switch, but it is, it it is, not it is nice that they have this, but it is also telling that like 2024.

Phantom Libtard: You're going to play Dark Souls.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Yeah.

Phantom Libtard: You're going to play Dark Souls if you're if you're a platforming guy.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Yeah, that's the closest I get. That's the closest.

Phantom Libtard: You're going to play the most toxic version of of platforming ever if you're Chris, which is which is from from software platforming.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Yeah, the words version of it.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Of course.

slimeballsteve: i have ah I have a spoiler for the game though.

Phantom Libtard: ah but like but this

MERLINCHESTNUT: You got a spoiler?

Phantom Libtard: i mean yeah i mean i is that the Is that the appeal, the fact that there's a lot of imagers to like pass

slimeballsteve: I got a spoiler.

Phantom Libtard: ah Sony classics and stuff that are real important to people.

slimeballsteve: I think so.

Brother Devon: I think that's like, i I was under the impression that that's like, that's like just the, the you know, the frosting on top of the cake or whatever the term is.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Steve, I think I know what your spoiler is.

slimeballsteve: Yeah, what what what do you think my spoiler is?

MERLINCHESTNUT: I think you're gonna tell me that there's a little Bloodborne guy in that game, right?

slimeballsteve: No, dude, um'm I'm gonna spoil the end of Astrobot.

MERLINCHESTNUT: No?

Brother Devon: Whoa, what the fuck?

slimeballsteve: If you don't wanna hear, turn your ears off now, okay.

Brother Devon: Okay.

slimeballsteve: ah So at the end of the Astrobot game, they hand the hand your Astrobot a gun, and they have you put down each of the Concorde characters, one by one.

Brother Devon: Damn, all right.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Okay.

Phantom Libtard: oh no

Brother Devon: Uh, gosh.

MERLINCHESTNUT: But you run out of bullets at the last one, you gotta use a hammer.

slimeballsteve: Yeah, you just, it's just the Grand Theft Auto 5 torture scene at the end.

MERLINCHESTNUT: have

Brother Devon: the

Brother Devon: And he's really stubborn.

slimeballsteve: Dude, this is fucked up.

Phantom Libtard: No The donkey release a video on this yet, that's the that's the the review I want to watch like that's gonna be Yeah, that's the one that's gonna be like, you know, cuz I know he's like a troll or whatever with a bunch of his stuff But like like he'll he'll give it to me straight

Brother Devon: Yeah.

Brother Devon: Okay. Okay.

Brother Devon: That's fair.

slimeballsteve: Nah.

Brother Devon: Yeah.

MERLINCHESTNUT: He's pretty harsh on ah on platformers that aren't Nintendo and

Brother Devon: Don, you're that you're basically that yeah, you're that Philly fan.

Brother Devon: ah You know. Just. Discussing the the fucking the Chick -fil -A or the Popeyes chicken sandwich, you're like, it's all right.

Phantom Libtard: Which one?

MERLINCHESTNUT: It's all right.

Phantom Libtard: No, I mean, I didn't play it, though.

Brother Devon: I mean, it's all right.

Phantom Libtard: That's the thing. It's just like now I just don't understand. Like, I don't know.

MERLINCHESTNUT: I mean, it's all right.

Brother Devon: Yeah, that's you watching it, you know, you're like, yeah, it looks fine.

Phantom Libtard: I'm just like, I don't I don't know, man, like.

Phantom Libtard: No, it does.

Brother Devon: Looks like they're chomping.

Phantom Libtard: Like, that's the thing, like, but like people are saying this is the best. I mean, again, maybe it's a week year for games, like for a full games or whatever they say. for full release games.

Brother Devon: This seems kind of like, you know, the it seems like a Rotten Tomato 98%.

Phantom Libtard: that They have to say that. They have to but have to say that, Chris. They have to say, this is the best, quote unquote, full release video game release of 2024 because they can't say it's the best thing to play in 2024 because everybody knows what that what that was.

Brother Devon: You know what I mean?

MERLINCHESTNUT: Of course, of course. It's the asterisk. It's like, there's the asterisk coming in.

Brother Devon: Now, again, this is like a this is like a 98 Rotten Tomatoes trick, you know, where it's it's.

Phantom Libtard: No, but like, Devin, Devin, do you think do you honestly think this better? This is better than Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. Do you really think this game is going to be better than that?

Brother Devon: I mean, it won't. I don't think so for me, but I think they're stating like, again, they're like, well, no one's going to say no one really has a bad thing to say about it.

Phantom Libtard: Is the bar just low? like and Like that's my that's my whole thing. Like is the bar just low just because like there hasn't been.

Brother Devon: But I mean, I think they're stating like I think this is grading very high as a platforming video game, like by itself, like in its bubble.

Phantom Libtard: ah

Brother Devon: Right. But like, I don't think people are going to say this is going to clean up at the keelys, you know?

Phantom Libtard: That's what they're saying, dude. That's what people are saying.

Brother Devon: I don't know, man. I'd be I'd be surprised.

Phantom Libtard: Paul Tassie was saying that shit on Forbes ah .com.

slimeballsteve: ah Paul?

Brother Devon: Yes, it played it. It's even fucking touched it.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Man, I really thought you said Massey there.

slimeballsteve: Yeah, that I thought you were talking about Paul Gassie.

Phantom Libtard: No, no, no, Paul Tassie from fucking four Forbes Forbes.

MERLINCHESTNUT: yeah

Brother Devon: Yeah. I don't know who that is.

slimeballsteve: I think the interesting thing about the Astro Bot, the games is it is the most

Brother Devon: Oh, okay.

slimeballsteve: a Sony franchise has kind of floated in the realm of feeling like Nintendo, where like it kind of gives you like that nostalgia and like that, like, no, I don't know.

Brother Devon: Yeah.

slimeballsteve: de Decent gaming that like Nintendo is so fond of. And it's the first time that like Sony project like projects have been like kind of like looked in that sense. So I think a lot of the time people are like these games that they kind of just look as like I just toss them out the window.

Phantom Libtard: That just makes me feel icky. Steve, it makes me feel icky when people...

Brother Devon: What's why?

slimeballsteve: let them Let them have one. Let them have a Mario, even though it's not.

Brother Devon: Really?

Phantom Libtard: It just makes me feel gross.

Brother Devon: Wasn't that allowed to make a Mario game, dude?

slimeballsteve: good

MERLINCHESTNUT: Wait, wait, don't they have ratchet and clank? Isn't that their platform?

Brother Devon: Yeah, but that's not really Mario.

slimeballsteve: They killed him. They killed him. They put them down in the pile with the Concorde guys.

MERLINCHESTNUT: like Holy shit, they died in the last game. How'd they die?

slimeballsteve: Oh, dude, they cranked his ratchet too hard.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Is it food poisoning?

Brother Devon: Uh.

Phantom Libtard: ah

MERLINCHESTNUT: he cranked this right

Brother Devon: Yeah, yeah, we actually had to hit him with a golf club.

MERLINCHESTNUT: ah Well, they always had odd world and they could bring that back anytime.

Brother Devon: ra But like.

slimeballsteve: Why are you talking about our world so much, k Chris?

Brother Devon: Dude, Oddworld is...

slimeballsteve: What's going on?

MERLINCHESTNUT: but you talk and Why are we not talking about our world all the time?

Brother Devon: Dude, listen.

Phantom Libtard: Yeah, where yeah, where's Astrobot?

Brother Devon: I'm gonna tell you this right now. Oddworld is the fetch of video games.

Phantom Libtard: When's cart Astrobot car atrobot cart coming out when Super Smash Astrobot coming out?

Brother Devon: This is never gonna work.

slimeballsteve: They do, they tried to do stack boy cart.

Brother Devon: You know, give it 10 years, give it 10 years.

Phantom Libtard: Astrobot tennis Astrobot Strikers, you know the soccer game Astrobot and Sonic at the Olympics.

Brother Devon: Yeah.

Brother Devon: You know what's funny though? You know what's funny is, ah so after Concord...

Phantom Libtard: Where's that? Where's that game?

Brother Devon: Just cope. This is what this is. ah

Phantom Libtard: I mean, I'm just I'm just saying that and like I it's just I Don't know man They're active like astrobot's been around since fucking 1992, you know, he's been a He's been around since he's been around since PlayStation 5 was launched and he was a game Yeah

Brother Devon: What? What? What are you just saying? What? What is it that your action? What if you? Well, I mean, technically he's been around since the the itoy, I think. No, no, no, he was he was like a PS itoy tech demo.

Brother Devon: like for the ps3 yeah dude he's been around dude he just wasn't i'm seeing well i mean shit that's not the ps5 you know what is the first with astrobot let's see first game

MERLINCHESTNUT: What?

slimeballsteve: I do remember the eye toy. I do remember those little guys on the eye toy.

Phantom Libtard: s three Yeah, dude, he's yeah Yeah, what's that paramount paramount pictures gonna make a movie next with Chris Pratt and voicing as you're not Like I don't know man Like am I am I the one am I the one coping or is it the Sony people coping that they you know They have a thing now they that they can call their own

slimeballsteve: ah Then Jack, Jack Black is going to play Ash Robot.

MERLINCHESTNUT: there

MERLINCHESTNUT: Mary's got the ears, got the ears.

Brother Devon: Well, what are you saying? This is the best platformer and in a decade. Is that what people are saying?

slimeballsteve: You can't say that and in a decade.

Brother Devon: That's what I heard.

Phantom Libtard: No, no son But that's the thing it's like and like the the cope too is that They these are people that won't even play on and then tend to switch because the technology is old, you know, like that that's I'm

Brother Devon: I heard that. I heard that is all I'm saying.

Brother Devon: John, I hope this is a daredevil situation for you. I hope there's a Brian Michael Bendis daredevils.

slimeballsteve: Dude.

Phantom Libtard: not I don't I don't know if I'm gonna buy it, you know if it's free and maybe I

Brother Devon: You're like, all right, fine. Fuck it. Fuck it. I'll buy it if it's free. You love platformers. Platformers is when you hear.

slimeballsteve: dude The second John gets it, the beginning of Astrobot is going to open with Astrobot pretending to be Horizon Zero Dawn.

Brother Devon: When you're being busy, yes.

slimeballsteve: And it will just make John set it on fire.

Brother Devon: yeah

Phantom Libtard: and I mean, that's in there. I saw I've seen it. I've seen it. And that's in there.

slimeballsteve: Just a big headed Astrobot baby just running around.

Brother Devon: Yes, big old head. ah Yeah, I'm just saying, you know, it's a nice nice little bounce back. But what was interesting was that after Concord bombed, the chief financial officer of Sony was like, we don't have enough IPs. And then this game came out that celebrates a lot of Sony, like PlayStation IPs. And it's extremely popular right now. And it's like, ah

Brother Devon: Way to just take your own L like immediately, like immediately. He's like, I don't know. He's got to come out with better and more IP. It's like, I don't know, dude. Does not give me good feelings when it comes to Sony leadership still. It just seemed like they're idiots.

Phantom Libtard: Yeah.

slimeballsteve: i I feel like they handed the bag over to a clown.

Brother Devon: Well, there's two clowns now. Because remember, there's like one guy that does the money and then there's one guy that does like the ah You know, I guess like the entertainment side of things.

MERLINCHESTNUT: I'll tell you the entertainment side that they got a venom coming out I'm Trey Trey venoms in there in their repertoire That what's yeah, is that is that coming out this year

Brother Devon: Venom.

slimeballsteve: They got a venom, they got our they they got a craven.

Brother Devon: I hope it's good.

Brother Devon: Oh, is it let there be that?

MERLINCHESTNUT: Or next.

Brother Devon: No, that's that's the second one.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Dance with the Venom, right?

Phantom Libtard: This is crazy, this is crazy, yeah.

Brother Devon: Yeah, then I'm three.

slimeballsteve: Venom the Last Dance, it's a musical.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Venom the Last Dance, yeah.

Brother Devon: No, yeah, I think, it yeah, you're right.

MERLINCHESTNUT: It's about when he won the NBA championship.

Phantom Libtard: Steve, how does this how does this headline make you feel? How does this headline make you feel? The first Astro Bot impression suggests that PlayStation finally has a game that can challenge Mario's platforming crown.

Brother Devon: October 25th.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Okay, there we go. We got a Venom coming.

slimeballsteve: I mean, you know what?

Brother Devon: john This is getting your goat, dude. I love it.

Phantom Libtard: it's good It's getting under my skin, I'm not gonna lie.

slimeballsteve: i don't i don't I don't believe it, I don't believe it.

Phantom Libtard: No, because the the thing that people were fucking retweeting all weekend was the fact that they were saying that this is this generation's Super Mario 64.

slimeballsteve: like

Phantom Libtard: And it's like, why? Like, what the fuck does that even fucking mean? Like, is is this a launch title for the PS5 that changed gaming forever and created created a new fucking genre of video games?

Phantom Libtard: Like, is that is that what Astrobot is? Is that what this is?

Brother Devon: John, look at this guy dancing, dude. Come on. He's awesome.

Phantom Libtard: I was just like.

Brother Devon: but

Phantom Libtard: oh My god, I just can't dude If the donkey video comes out and it makes me cry like the Mario Odyssey one Then and I'll play it.

Brother Devon: ah Yeah. All right. So like what, John, what would, what would be the thing that you're like, all right, I'm going to, I'm going to get this shot. Is it if like the donkey video comes out and he's like, no, legit, this is like awesome. Yeah.

Phantom Libtard: Yeah, but it won't I don't think you can

Brother Devon: All right.

Phantom Libtard: And I think, don I mean, to be honest, like I know I'm trusting Dunkey. Dunkey is a reviewer, but like he's going to be super biased.

Brother Devon: Yeah, it's like.

Brother Devon: Yeah, I know.

Phantom Libtard: He's a Mario fanboy. He's a Mario fanboy.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Definitely.

Brother Devon: Yeah.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Yeah, absolutely.

Phantom Libtard: so but So that's why. And that's why I'm holding it to him. Like if he if he says that, like if he says it's better than Super Mario Odyssey, then that I think I would have to play it at that point.

Brother Devon: Well, I mean,

Phantom Libtard: But um'm um' um I'm banking on him just taking a shit fat shit all over it.

Brother Devon: I heard I heard this game also basically has a ah champions road in it.

MERLINCHESTNUT: What's that mean?

Phantom Libtard: Yeah, but that's not what makes Super Mario Odyssey great.

Brother Devon: No, no, I'm just saying I'm not.

Phantom Libtard: It's a really nice thing, right?

Brother Devon: I'm just saying like, ah you know, like there's there's something for the hardcore platformer fans, too.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Oh, I see what you're saying.

Brother Devon: It's not just.

Brother Devon: Do he turns into a sponge in what I've never seen that I've never seen Mario turn into a sponge.

Phantom Libtard: but did ah Did IGN review it?

Brother Devon: and I think it was a nine, maybe.

Phantom Libtard: Did they just give it a fucking 10?

Brother Devon: I don't know.

Phantom Libtard: Let me look it up a nine. Oh, so it was hot.

Brother Devon: This is trash.

Phantom Libtard: No, it's hot trash Yo, IGN t -shirt coming in the mail for me tomorrow.

Brother Devon: yeah

slimeballsteve: Haha.

Phantom Libtard: Oh Let me look this up.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Hey, man, you see, you see what they gave.

Phantom Libtard: Let me look this up Yo, they're there be yeah, they're they're um being real Chris.

MERLINCHESTNUT: You see what they gave the Joker part two. They're not happy. They're being real. They're being real now.

Phantom Libtard: We're back IGN is back.

MERLINCHESTNUT: It's back, guys. Finally.

Phantom Libtard: I Want you I want you to get the word out there that we back up.

MERLINCHESTNUT: We get yeah the magazine, everybody.

Phantom Libtard: No. Okay. So here's Here's the reviewer for IGN that get you. OK, so I Jan gave it a nine. Asher by his collection of endlessly inventive levels and fantastically fun abilities.

Phantom Libtard: It delivers joint space, never once becoming even remotely dull or repetitive. Team Asobi has crafted a mascot platformer that goes near enough toe to toe with Nintendo's best efforts, nine.

Phantom Libtard: And then the writer says for those asking why isn't it t because I guess a lot of people were mad that it wasn't a 10 for IGN.

Brother Devon: Mm hmm. Yeah.

Phantom Libtard: He says, I just felt ah just felt it didn't quite hit the masterpiece heights of the likes of Mario Galaxy and Odyssey.

Brother Devon: Not enough diversity.

Phantom Libtard: But it is about as far as Nintendo has been pushed regarding platformers.

Brother Devon: Wow.

Phantom Libtard: Asherbot is the best game I've played this year, though. Hope this helps.

Brother Devon: Well.

Phantom Libtard: OK. So this guy's not full dick. He's maybe like half dick riding. He's like grinding on one of the legs, but not it doesn't he he's not spread spread over him like a surfboard.

slimeballsteve: He's like, he's like best game I played all year, but this is a slow year.

Brother Devon: Wait, wait, who's the Dick riding Nintendo or Sony in this, in this comment?

Phantom Libtard: He's kind of grinding Sony a little bit, you know?

Brother Devon: All right.

Phantom Libtard: Yeah, he's not he's not full dick riding.

slimeballsteve: This is a slow year.

Brother Devon: Sounds like he was. All right. All right.

Phantom Libtard: Should add that this isn't meant as any sort of defense or justification. Just wanted to give a little extra context to anyone who wanted it.

slimeballsteve: He got threatened.

Brother Devon: Yeah.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Yeah, he got wild.

Phantom Libtard: Yeah, he got he got he got shit on.

Brother Devon: He for sure got threatened, dude.

MERLINCHESTNUT: He got swatted.

slimeballsteve: Dude, there's controversy that came out today about Astrobot. Days Gone Dev upset with Astrobot cameo.

Brother Devon: What?

slimeballsteve: Dude, the Days Gone Dev pissed. Pissed about Deacon's portrayal.

Brother Devon: Dude, that guy, i wait.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Don't put me in your game! Don't put me in your game!

Brother Devon: Dude, I mean, that guy is ah he's pretty ordinary, that guy.

Brother Devon: Because he's salty as fuck that they didn't just give him this equal.

Phantom Libtard: Oh, man yeah, there's here's some here's somebody's Matt. That's Matt. Yeah, here's here's somebody that's Matt Chris. you'll You'll like this to each their own.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Ooh, I like

Brother Devon: Oh, shit.

Phantom Libtard: This is a reply to this reviewer to each their own. But quote, because it's not Mario Galaxy, does it seem like a fair critique like Elden Ring isn't blood born gets 10.

Phantom Libtard: Elden Ring did merit its 10, but it is almost unanimously agreed to be not quite as tight as Bloodborne. Is that true?

MERLINCHESTNUT: yeah No!

Phantom Libtard: Is that true, Chris?

MERLINCHESTNUT: I don't know.

Brother Devon: Well that sounds true to me.

MERLINCHESTNUT: nonsense.

Phantom Libtard: Again, you review, not mine.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Like, got a man's an idiot.

Phantom Libtard: Glad you enjoyed. This guy's seething, Chris. This dude is fucking seething.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Yeah, well, it is not unanimously agreed.

Phantom Libtard: Elden Ring did merit its 10, but it is almost unanimously agreed to be not quite as tight as Bloodborne. you dadly agreed

slimeballsteve: We improved.

MERLINCHESTNUT: He's made that shit up.

Phantom Libtard: bro maybe is this tim this is tim right tim wrote this tweet

MERLINCHESTNUT: ah Oh man, what a stinker.

Phantom Libtard: <unk> burner account just really work out nine out Yeah, this guy's getting shit on he's getting cooked nine out of ten quote not Mario You know, I feel better.

Brother Devon: yeah

Phantom Libtard: I'm feeling better now cuz a lot of people are getting mad about this

Brother Devon: of like

Phantom Libtard: And it's a nine, you know, it's a good score, guys. And I say that with the with the most patronizing tone I could ever say it with.

MERLINCHESTNUT: fine.

Brother Devon: yeah come on guys I mean, but would you argue that's a fair criticism though?

Phantom Libtard: This is what I needed. Now people are replying, posting, posting his posting the guy's profile pic blown up like that's that's this is Sony.

Brother Devon: Because because because the the criticism...

Brother Devon: Oh shit.

Brother Devon: and

Phantom Libtard: This is Sony. David, this is Sony fans.

Brother Devon: What's that mean? I don't know what that means.

Phantom Libtard: They finally have their Mario and it's not Mario and so it's not good enough and they get mad.

Brother Devon: Yeah, so it gets a nine. Yeah, maybe I agree with that guy.

Phantom Libtard: That's crazy.

Brother Devon: Maybe maybe the critique of it's not Mario isn't a great critique.

Phantom Libtard: If this was on Nintendo, you would give you would give it a 10.

Brother Devon: You give it a fucking 12.

Phantom Libtard: I mean, he's not wrong. That guy's not wrong either.

Brother Devon: yeah Yeah, that's fair. That's fair.

slimeballsteve: Look, let's just, let's just look at it this way.

Phantom Libtard: Like I like I ja didn't give so many games fans.

Brother Devon: You know who we really feel bad for?

slimeballsteve: Who's that?

Brother Devon: That Xbox player, that one Xbox player.

slimeballsteve: They don't, they don't got anything, but they got Phil.

Brother Devon: cabin

slimeballsteve: They got Phil.

Brother Devon: They're not even getting fucking the horizon zero dawn Lego, dude, that is a slap in the face Bro, we can't even get a Lego game We're giving you Indiana Jones.

slimeballsteve: That is, that is a slap to the face.

Brother Devon: We can't get a Lego games like that dog. Sorry That's what third place feels like

slimeballsteve: gene You're right.

Phantom Libtard: but astrobo and What's What's Astrobond on open credit?

slimeballsteve: It's cute because sony Sony, when they had their franchises all come together, they did a cute little, cute little buddy, buddy platformer.

Phantom Libtard: 95.

slimeballsteve: When Nintendo did it, they were fighting to the fucking death, man.

slimeballsteve: Super Smash Brothers, AKA put put people in a pit and die.

Brother Devon: Universal acclaim.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Yeah.

Brother Devon: All right.

MERLINCHESTNUT: I mean, they fell off and exploded.

Brother Devon: Oh, wait, I'm going to read some negatives on Metacritic right now.

MERLINCHESTNUT: They didn't even just fall and and die.

Phantom Libtard: um but or are you meta or open?

MERLINCHESTNUT: They blew up.

slimeballsteve: They scream.

Phantom Libtard: What do we go by? Do we go by meta critic or open critic?

Brother Devon: the Fantasy critic goes by open critic.

slimeballsteve: It's open to anybody Yeah

Brother Devon: Yeah.

Phantom Libtard: So Astrobot's a 95 on open critic.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Oh, so open critic, it's like,

Brother Devon: Yeah.

Phantom Libtard: Wait, what is it on meta critic? What is it on meta critic?

Brother Devon: It's on it's a 94 on Metacritic.

Phantom Libtard: What's the Super Mario Odyssey on meta?

MERLINCHESTNUT: It's a, the open critic is like the Reagan, the

Brother Devon: Yeah, so Metacritic does give like Metacritic will wait.

Phantom Libtard: 97.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Reagan, ah was it person review?

Brother Devon: The Metacritic will wait like IGN's 10 more so than like fucking.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Not the critic review.

Brother Devon: Joysticks 10, you know, we're open credit is just universal.

Phantom Libtard: Okay, so open critic open credit is a flat a aggregate aggregate.

Brother Devon: Yeah, exactly.

Phantom Libtard: Okay.

Brother Devon: Exactly.

Phantom Libtard: Yeah, so yeah just go buy open credit then I Just need to be able to sleep at night.

Brother Devon: ah So this guy gave.

Phantom Libtard: Just need to know Super Mario Odyssey is a better game That's that's all that's all I need to do sleep at night All

Brother Devon: Yeah.

slimeballsteve: It is.

Brother Devon: wait so Wait, so I'm looking at this this one of five negative user reviews that Astrobot2 got. It has a two out of 10.

Phantom Libtard: right, let's see

slimeballsteve: A 2 out of 10.

Brother Devon: Yeah, this is what they post it in shit talk. They just post it what the review states.

Phantom Libtard: It's just diversity shit the way that That's

Brother Devon: Just two. No, no, it's, it's that's, yeah, I'm actually keyboard giving it two.

slimeballsteve: They just mash the keyboard?

MERLINCHESTNUT: who

Phantom Libtard: me was that me was that me was that me oh my god

slimeballsteve: Just rage it out just rage it out Wow

Brother Devon: I think so. ah Oh, OK, wait, here's one. Here's one. I evaluate project. This guy gave it a zero. I have not a project based on a simple principle, a triangle with three key aspects.

Brother Devon: Gameplay, quality, shit game has a decent way. OK, three aspects, gameplay and quality. And then he doesn't name the third.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Oh boy, here we go.

Brother Devon: Blank game has a decent level of quality and good integration physics.

Phantom Libtard: wants them

Brother Devon: They are already questions about gameplay. I believe that the game is designed for an audience of eight to 12 year olds for which for which we can make a retreat.

Phantom Libtard: Well, that was all the bad reviews on Mario Odyssey we're saying the same shit there's a kid for it game for babies

Brother Devon: Yeah.

MERLINCHESTNUT: For babies. It's a game for babies.

Brother Devon: Yeah. But here's the price. It's absolutely not commensurate with what they give us. It's just money thrown away. It's zero out of 10.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Wow.

Brother Devon: Astrobot is nothing more than a blank generic knockoff of Mario. This is John's barrier.

Phantom Libtard: Hell yeah. Give it to me.

Brother Devon: It tries to mimic the charm and creativity of Mario games, but fails miserably. The level design is uninspired.

Phantom Libtard: Yes. Mm hmm.

Brother Devon: The gameplay feels like a watered down version of what Nintendo yeah what nintendo perfected years ago.

Phantom Libtard: Inject this into my veins.

Brother Devon: And there's hardly any originality to speed going

Phantom Libtard: I'm inhaling it, Chris, I'm inhaling it and feeling it hit the ventricles of my lungs right now.

MERLINCHESTNUT: yeah Dear drinker.

Brother Devon: Even the character feels like a soulless attempt to cash in on the mascot platformer trend.

Phantom Libtard: Hell yeah.

Brother Devon: ah while While Mario revolutionized gaming with innovative mechanics and iconic worlds, Astrobot just rehashes the same ideas with none of the magic or creativity that made Mario a legend, period.

Phantom Libtard: Preach King.

Phantom Libtard: Yup. There it is.

Phantom Libtard: Slam dunk. Yup.

Phantom Libtard: Fine, I'm buying this game tonight.

Brother Devon: Zero out of 10.

Phantom Libtard: and I'm going to play it. I'm playing it.

Brother Devon: Zero. Mr.

slimeballsteve: John buys it because this guy is scathingly reviewed it.

Phantom Libtard: um playing

Brother Devon: Comte.

Phantom Libtard: I'm playing it. Yeah, I'm playing it.

Brother Devon: Yeah.

Phantom Libtard: I'm playing it tonight.

Brother Devon: Yeah.

Phantom Libtard: Play it tomorrow.

Brother Devon: This is just the weird hit.

Phantom Libtard: Wait, what's most the what's the how to how to how how long the beat for this game?

Brother Devon: I think it's seven and a half.

Phantom Libtard: Seven and a half hours.

Phantom Libtard: but to Yeah, yeah, maybe I'll so I'll play that this week It's okay.

Brother Devon: It's the cool down.

Phantom Libtard: They're gonna bend his daredevil me Really?

Brother Devon: That's the cool down.

slimeballsteve: Dude, he's gonna hurt play this.

Phantom Libtard: Are you gonna you're gonna see me on?

slimeballsteve: Dude, I was just passing the chops, come on guys. It's a show, a podcast. I think it was like 60.

Brother Devon: sixty 60 bills price, not commensurate zero.

slimeballsteve: John, you were asking us if you should buy Baldur's Gate 3 for $45.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Yeah, that's like a ah hundred hour game of millions.

Phantom Libtard: I probably should. Yeah, but this is a this is this is for science. This is for.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Oh.

Phantom Libtard: It's thrown fucking stellar blade at me because it knows I'm a fucking goon.

Brother Devon: Oh, well, yeah.

Phantom Libtard: I'm a gooner.

Brother Devon: Hey, you want to play this?

Phantom Libtard: I because I haven't I haven't really turned here.

slimeballsteve: Oh dude, you gotta get the deluxe.

Phantom Libtard: Here's Astro Bot. Well, let's take a look.

Brother Devon: Oh.

slimeballsteve: You gotta get the deluxe one. It comes with the Yardim Hunter outfit.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Y 'all what? Well, I might get it now too.

Brother Devon: Yeah.

Phantom Libtard: Because this is this is Chris's Copford because we kill have blood board we don't blood board You have to play the game you can't just start with the yarn them out fit

slimeballsteve: Dude, they knew. ah It's $70. That version's $70.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Nevermind.

Brother Devon: For a yard, for a yard, I'm casting.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Nevermind.

slimeballsteve: ah the The Deluxe Edition, Digital Deluxe Edition, Astro Bot, Astro's Yharnam Hunter outfit, Astro's Golden outfit, Neon Dream Dual Speed.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Nevermind.

slimeballsteve: It doesn't matter. These don't matter.

MERLINCHESTNUT: None of that.

slimeballsteve: ah And there is an asterisk next to the Yharnam and the other outfits that say game progression required to unlock. Yeah.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Well, it'll only take me like, what, five hours to beat. So who cares? I mean, that doesn't sound, I don't, this is not where the bad partner rubs me the wrong way.

Brother Devon: now

Phantom Libtard: They should give me this game for free when they fucking auto charge me for the whole year of PlayStation Premium.

slimeballsteve: Dude, they've done that to me twice in a row.

Phantom Libtard: and Without telling me.

Brother Devon: No.

Phantom Libtard: Without telling me. They give me this game for free then.

MERLINCHESTNUT: ah How long is Odyssey? How long does that take you to beat?

Phantom Libtard: Uh, to just beat it?

slimeballsteve: oh

MERLINCHESTNUT: Yeah, just beat the game.

slimeballsteve: It's not like a long, long game.

Phantom Libtard: Yeah, maybe like 10, 10, 12 hours maybe?

slimeballsteve: Yeah.

MERLINCHESTNUT: and Okay. So I guess that is kind of the way platformers are.

Brother Devon: Yeah.

slimeballsteve: Yeah.

Brother Devon: Yeah. I think like.

Phantom Libtard: That's if like, no, that's literally if you're like a seven year old kid and it lets you like beat the game. But like if you want to be if you want to if you want to souls like it and play all the hard.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Oh, I see.

Brother Devon: Yeah, yeah, if you want to do a job, if you want to get the golden ship or whatever.

Phantom Libtard: Yeah, because so those there's levels in that game that are are absolutely impossible.

MERLINCHESTNUT: I see.

Phantom Libtard: So I wonder I'm wondering if Astrobot has has the same because like my argument for that game was that it's a good game for kids and adults because a kid can still beat it.

Phantom Libtard: um But not play hat like any of the levels that an adult would play.

MERLINCHESTNUT: I see it has like a little bit of a cutoff when it comes to all of the content.

Phantom Libtard: you know, or would be able to play. Yeah, but it doesn't. Yeah, but it doesn't gate keep them from from like, it's not like a seven year old trying to play Dark Souls remastered, you know, where they wouldn't be able to get past like five minutes of that game.

Phantom Libtard: And then that's it, you know.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Do I make my son play? You got to get good, son.

Phantom Libtard: 60 bucks.

slimeballsteve: get in there son get in there son i mean you could just yeah you could just wait and like see if it goes on sale at some point all

Phantom Libtard: Oh.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Get in there, son. Don't be afraid. You got to fight back.

Phantom Libtard: I mean, I was I was going to I was going to rage by it, but I'm not going to rage by right now because it's 60 dollars. Oh, wait. I turn I'm shutting my PlayStation off now, guys, turning it off.

Phantom Libtard: But yeah, man, like fucking.

MERLINCHESTNUT: you but Get get ball that gate man, you don't like that.

slimeballsteve: right yeah you you're gonna like the way you look i guarantee you

Phantom Libtard: No, but that's the I was going to buy Baldur's Gate, but not I don't have plans to play it yet. I don't want to play it right now because I just play.

slimeballsteve: You need ah you need a like a divider game.

Phantom Libtard: Well, I that's what I thought. I asked about probably be a good like fucking cool down game.

Brother Devon: Good cool time. I think it'd be a good cool down again.

MERLINCHESTNUT: play Play Dave the Diver, that gives a lot of fun.

Phantom Libtard: But then. I don't know, I do have Dave the Diver. I did start that while I was in Chicago last time.

Brother Devon: All right.

MERLINCHESTNUT: That's pretty chill at one point and then he gets

slimeballsteve: What the

Phantom Libtard: It's tough.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Then you're spinning plates. Yeah, you got to keep up with things.

Brother Devon: I missed the Godzilla DLC. I don't know if it's worth my time.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Oh, damn it. What the hell?

slimeballsteve: hell, dammit.

MERLINCHESTNUT: What the hell?

slimeballsteve: My god, Darren.

Phantom Libtard: And why is the days gone die mad mad that that that that that he that the dude days gone do is an astronaut.

Brother Devon: What the hell was that?

Phantom Libtard: Why is he pissed?

Brother Devon: I don't know. I mean, Steve, maybe Steve knows the actual reason, but that guy, I'd assume that guy is just complaining because he really, tried he tried very hard to get a sequel up and running.

slimeballsteve: I didn't read the rest of the article.

MERLINCHESTNUT: I think he knows that guy.

Brother Devon: Uh, and they're like, no, it's just not popular enough. So he's probably like, oh, I'm popular enough to be in your stupid fucking astronaut game, but not enough to let me keep making games.

slimeballsteve: And they're like, bro, we put every guy in this game.

Brother Devon: Fuck you. Days gone dev mad Astro bot. Let's see. Let's see. Let's find it. Kind of sad to see that Deak has been reduced to promoting other games dot, dot, dot. Well done, Ben Studio. Way to protect your legacy. Wow. This is Salt City. Haha. I see my character reduced to a cartoon shill promoting some small game and I'm being harsh.

Brother Devon: Sit down, my brother.

Phantom Libtard: Yikes.

Brother Devon: Adults are talking.

MERLINCHESTNUT: That sounds like something Devin would say.

Brother Devon: Yes, guys.

slimeballsteve: Oh man.

Brother Devon: Fuck you. True.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Devin's gone. His game it came out.

Brother Devon: Hmm.

slimeballsteve: ah Tevin's gone.

MERLINCHESTNUT: they they car I didn't do anything this week.

Brother Devon: Can't believe they're used to my guy to promote a game. Just embarrassing.

slimeballsteve: Dude, I can't believe weapon 109, who is a very serious man and very strong, was used for baby game.

Brother Devon: You know how many bodybuilding competitions I've won?

slimeballsteve: 109 of them.

Brother Devon: Other than nine.

MERLINCHESTNUT: i I played Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth.

Brother Devon: OK.

MERLINCHESTNUT: I got the Nibelheim, which I will say is probably my favorite area in the game.

Brother Devon: Nice.

Brother Devon: Yeah, it's it's a. Again, ah it's it's a breath of fresh.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Because the Chocobo stuff, it makes traveling around that map just so much fun and easier.

Brother Devon: The chocobo stuff's way more fun, too.

Brother Devon: So much better.

MERLINCHESTNUT: It's like they they nailed it then. Like I it's so hard to move around that map on a Chocobo.

Brother Devon: Yeah.

MERLINCHESTNUT: in any of those maps outside of that one.

Brother Devon: Mm hmm.

MERLINCHESTNUT: And man, I cleared all of the the objective super fast, too, which I was like, oh, that was that was a breath fresh air to like burning through those so fast.

Brother Devon: yeah

MERLINCHESTNUT: Oh, Jesus. Yeah. And what else do I do?

Brother Devon: Yeah.

MERLINCHESTNUT: That's about it, man. I could have watched the fall guy, but I was like, I don't know.

Brother Devon: Oh, you should watch the fall guy.

Phantom Libtard: awwww

MERLINCHESTNUT: I don't want to.

Brother Devon: Fall guy's going to go. That was fun. That was good.

MERLINCHESTNUT: I don't, I don't want to see it.

Brother Devon: Damn it.

MERLINCHESTNUT: I have no interest. yeah

Brother Devon: God, you and most of America.

MERLINCHESTNUT: i Nothing. um It's hard. i I look at that movie and I'm like, that's my reaction. So other than that, there was not a lot of new drops on streaming services that I could think of that I was interested at least in. I have been watching a little bit of ah Only Murders in the building.

MERLINCHESTNUT: that's

Brother Devon: Is that good? <unk>ve I've heard awesome things.

Phantom Libtard: Like the new season, Chris?

MERLINCHESTNUT: Yeah, the newest season.

Phantom Libtard: that Sam just loves that show.

MERLINCHESTNUT: It's it's.

Phantom Libtard: I tried to get into it when she was watching the first season, but Selena Gomez's vocal fry voice in the first season, like I was like, I can't.

MERLINCHESTNUT: It's kind of rough.

Phantom Libtard: I'll fucking, I'll have a, I'll fucking, I'll kill myself.

MERLINCHESTNUT: I don't I don't really like it much either, to be honest. She.

Phantom Libtard: I'll jump off a fucking bridge listening to this shit.

MERLINCHESTNUT: She has that like kind of on the spectrum voice. I can't really describe like emotionless a little bit. It's weird. I it's.

Phantom Libtard: ah Asperger's like that kind of thing It's like monotone it's like my like she just talks very monotone and like and Vocal fry and I just couldn't I don't know.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Yeah, a little bit.

Brother Devon: Whoa, really? I don't I don't guess I've never Okay Yeah yeah

MERLINCHESTNUT: Very monotone. Yeah.

Phantom Libtard: It just seemed like she was trying too hard in the first season Maybe she gets better, huh?

MERLINCHESTNUT: I'll tell you, I'll tell you this, like Martin Shorten, Steve Martin are great. And the the the special guests they get on, like they had Zach Galifianakis playing himself in the season and Eugene Levy playing himself because they're going to be them in a movie that they're making about the podcast.

MERLINCHESTNUT: that the show is about. um That was great, really funny stuff. It's just, I kind of feel the same way about this show that I do about like Ted Lasso, where it's like, it's not overwhelmingly funny, but it's clever.

Brother Devon: okay

slimeballsteve: Mm.

MERLINCHESTNUT: And you like, it get I get more like, it gets more of those out of me, like, you know, or might I'll exhale out of my nostril a little louder, like, like that.

Phantom Libtard: Yeah. yeah

MERLINCHESTNUT: um It, um yeah, it just doesn't, it's not gonna tickle me.

Brother Devon: Okay. It's Chris in science.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Like, like i'm I'm laughing out loud watching like, I don't know, community and there's not a lot of new comedy that gets me, I think you should leave.

Brother Devon: Yeah, yeah.

slimeballsteve: Mm.

MERLINCHESTNUT: That gets me laughing.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Like, I don't know, it's weird. I don't watch a lot of as many comedy shows as I used to, I've noticed. and

Brother Devon: Comedy is still hard, man. It's like hard to find like a good, universally funny like.

MERLINCHESTNUT: It is.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Like I like the Kite Man show on on Max, like that's fine. Is it it's not as good as Harley Quinn, but I've watched some of it.

MERLINCHESTNUT: It made me laugh a little bit.

Brother Devon: yeah

MERLINCHESTNUT: Harley Quinn, the first season is fucking is hilarious, you know?

slimeballsteve: Mm.

MERLINCHESTNUT: um Yeah, I don't know. There's just not a lot of comedies that are and as interesting to me nowadays. um It's always like, i i I feel like there's so much comedy in in movies nowadays that like a drama is almost comedic.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Like 30, 40 % of it is is comedic.

Brother Devon: Yeah.

MERLINCHESTNUT: um Yeah, like I feel like it's just instilled in almost every genre of television.

slimeballsteve: Yeah.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Uh, even like, you know, like the Marvel movies, obviously like action movies are funny now. Horror movies are funny. Sci -fi movies are funny. Like there it's. There's always an element of comedy attached to everything.

slimeballsteve: They've squeezed it into every genre.

Brother Devon: Yeah, like a straight comedy is almost rare.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Yeah.

MERLINCHESTNUT: I know like ah like a situational comedy, whether that be a TV show or a movie, it's very rare.

slimeballsteve: Yeah.

slimeballsteve: Like,

slimeballsteve: Deadpool and Wolverine, like the one of the gripping points of that is it's like. It is comic like it is like, you know, marvel -y, but it's also, you know, more comedy than normal, so.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Yeah. And it's an action movie too, like in the same breath, you know, like it's, I'm, I'm always surprised by movies like John Wick, you know, the coming out nowadays because they take themselves so serious and, and, but they do, and they're kind of tongue in cheek about it.

slimeballsteve: Yeah.

slimeballsteve: Mm hmm.

slimeballsteve: There's laughs in those movies, but there's laughs because you are watching something that is doing things overly serious sometimes to the point where it is wrapping around into satire and comedy.

MERLINCHESTNUT: It's satire. Yeah, yeah, I feel like that happens. I think it happened more in the beginning of the series than it did towards the end.

slimeballsteve: Yeah.

MERLINCHESTNUT: I think it's really starting to take itself more serious as it went on. um Yeah, it's just, it's weird to actually sit down and wanna watch a comedy, a straight up comedy nowadays.

MERLINCHESTNUT: I don't know what that means.

slimeballsteve: I'm trying, um you know what, I'm gonna just look up comedies.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Yeah. Like you think about them and like most of them nowadays are romantic comedies and they're making money. Like apparently.

slimeballsteve: Fall guy, greedy people, find me falling, fly me to the moon.

Brother Devon: Yeah, you know what fall guy a straight comedy. Chris said, no, thank you.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Yeah, I did. I you're absolutely right.

slimeballsteve: Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice?

MERLINCHESTNUT: I don't.

Brother Devon: Yeah.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Yeah, I guess horror comedy.

slimeballsteve: Would you consider that a comedy?

Brother Devon: and say sir Yeah.

MERLINCHESTNUT: That's kind of.

slimeballsteve: Or is that drag out?

MERLINCHESTNUT: I'd say it's more comedy than horror, definitely, right?

slimeballsteve: Drag out nostalgic movies from your past and. and

MERLINCHESTNUT: Yeah, we can't make funny movies anymore. We gotta make this again.

slimeballsteve: This is all we got. Sorry.

MERLINCHESTNUT: I feel like ah Judd Apatow's crying in his millions of dollars right now.

Brother Devon: no

MERLINCHESTNUT: it just you know Actually, I did watch a little bit of Booksmart. it's a

Brother Devon: That movie's all right.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Yeah, it's like high school comedy.

Brother Devon: Yeah.

MERLINCHESTNUT: I didn't finish it, but I watched some of it. And it was funny enough. Like it made me laugh. Like I would, I'm considering continuing it.

Brother Devon: okay Man, I don't know, man.

MERLINCHESTNUT: It's weird.

Brother Devon: What about ah Lisa Frankenstein?

MERLINCHESTNUT: I didn't, I did not watch that yet.

Brother Devon: It's a comedy. Yeah.

MERLINCHESTNUT: I did not watch it.

Brother Devon: ah

MERLINCHESTNUT: Good time to watch it too.

Brother Devon: Yeah, considering.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Halloween Yeah adam so Well, I feel like I get my comedy mostly on YouTube they Like I don't know like the shit on there makes me laugh more than anything

Brother Devon: Chris said, no, I don't want I don't want to see Beetlejuice. Sit in my room. The Adam song on repeat.

Brother Devon: I don't think what he said. So you're being emo, Chris, is my point is my is my joke.

Brother Devon: That's true. Yeah, I mean.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Like, I listen to pod, or I watch podcasts, you know, like comedians. You know, Stavros, that guy's pretty funny. The Greek comedian.

Brother Devon: Dude, I can't stay in that guy.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Yeah, you don't like him?

Brother Devon: Well, let me let me I don't mind. Him, right, he seems fine.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Okay.

Brother Devon: I've only, seen I've seen his, when he does crowd work, pretty funny.

MERLINCHESTNUT: You know, i I've never seen

Brother Devon: His actual material.

MERLINCHESTNUT: I've never watched his standup. I only watch his podcast.

Brother Devon: I've never, I watched like 20 minutes of his like actually jokes. And I was like, this sucks.

MERLINCHESTNUT: It's not good. Yeah. You see, that makes sense. He's a good, I like him in an interview setting, like when he's talking to other comedians and stuff, but I, I don't watch his comedy, you know, his actual standup.

Brother Devon: Yeah. Interview.

Brother Devon: Yeah.

MERLINCHESTNUT: But yeah, I mean, I think most of the funny things I watch are on YouTube, like,

Brother Devon: Yeah.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Connor O 'Malley, like all those shorts that he makes, the mask short and everything.

Brother Devon: and That guy is too intense for me.

MERLINCHESTNUT: I fucking love that.

Brother Devon: Literally, he's like, because I'm like, I don't know how much of this is a joke and it scares me.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Love it.

MERLINCHESTNUT: it's very It's kind of frightening, a lot of his stuff.

Brother Devon: Yeah, that's what I'm saying.

MERLINCHESTNUT: I eat that up. I really do. um Yeah, like skits and and stuff on YouTube really dominate my comedy viewing.

Brother Devon: All right.

MERLINCHESTNUT: See, I don't even watch stand -up that much anymore.

Brother Devon: It's like Joe Rogan stand up. It's very, very funny.

MERLINCHESTNUT: yeah

slimeballsteve: ah

Brother Devon: You just watch that.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Yeah, I should've said that.

Brother Devon: That renew your love of stand -up comedy, ah Chris.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Yeah, that'll definitely get me in there again.

Brother Devon: Chris, you could be watching Ghostbusters Frozen Empire right now.

MERLINCHESTNUT: ah

Brother Devon: And just making that noise for two hours.

MERLINCHESTNUT: yeah

Brother Devon: wow Speaking of potential comedies, I don't know what the deal is with this. This is truthfully like I might be eating some crow on this one, but this looks truly terrible.

slimeballsteve: Ha ha!

Brother Devon: This Nightbix trailer.

MERLINCHESTNUT: hi Yeah, you turn my that trailer looks rough man.

Brother Devon: Is this like.

MERLINCHESTNUT: I don't know what's going on It's a shame, too Yeah, it's a it's a really good book about like Because obviously there's the the crazy You know take on the plot where it's a woman turning into a dog.

Brother Devon: I mean, I get it. You said it's a book, right?

Brother Devon: Yeah.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Yeah, that's definitely it but like it's more about how you sacrifice your so your life a little bit when you have kids and you you go a little crazy because of it.

Brother Devon: Yeah.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Like you don't, you know, you're not fulfilled, you know, it's not bad.

Brother Devon: So Chris, you remember that? Remember that Tim Allen movie where he turns into a dog? It sounds like I'm not even like being funny. Like that sounds like the same fucking plot.

Brother Devon: It's like he's a stressed out dad who's to he works too much.

slimeballsteve: The Shaggy Dog.

MERLINCHESTNUT: I mean, yes, that the Shaggy dog movies are kind of close to that concept, but it's more, um, it's darker.

Brother Devon: And it's like.

Phantom Libtard: Silence. Silence.

Brother Devon: He said movies like there's seven of them.

MERLINCHESTNUT: I mean, there are there's it's been remade a few times and there's sequels and shit.

Brother Devon: Well, I mean, yeah I guess you're right. yeah

MERLINCHESTNUT: the The whole point of it is it's taking it under a different microscope and and a different perspective on it. And it's a little darker than like the Shaggy Dog or like straight up comedies.

Brother Devon: Yeah. Yeah.

MERLINCHESTNUT: And that's the problem with the trailer. Right. Like when I when I read the book, there is this kind of dark, weird element to it.

Brother Devon: yeah

MERLINCHESTNUT: That's not funny. And I don't think that trailer captured that at all. It just looks stupid in a lot of those scenes. um Yeah, I don't know.

MERLINCHESTNUT: I want to hope that's just a bad trailer. I really do.

Brother Devon: Yeah.

slimeballsteve: You're hoping they're ah they're driving it.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Yeah, I i think.

Brother Devon: I mean, did you see this trailer?

slimeballsteve: I'm glancing it right now.

Brother Devon: It's like, it's like pretty atrocious in my opinion. Like, I don't know.

MERLINCHESTNUT: I want to hope that this is a bad ah trailer company. That pulled together a really shitty trailer that they were trying to market to certain demographics, I guess And it just it just does not Fit the tone of the book at all So I don't know man. I want to hope this is a bad trailer. That's my that's my

Brother Devon: Yeah. Well, I mean, there was also this ah this teaser. This is really nothing to write home about, honestly. But ah there's a teaser for the Alien Earth show, which I won.

Brother Devon: I didn't know they were making a show. But it's.

MERLINCHESTNUT: No, this is the guy who makes Fargo, right? Noah Hawthorne?

Brother Devon: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Noah Haley.

Brother Devon: Which is like, OK, one, OK.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Noah

slimeballsteve: That's interesting.

Brother Devon: Uh, and he apparently said, like, he kind of was like, no, this is not just going to be like a one season thing. He's like, there are going to be plot lines that are expected to go on through multiple seasons.

Brother Devon: Like this is not just kind of like a one off.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Cool.

Brother Devon: Um, so prequel set three decades before the first movie.

MERLINCHESTNUT: And it's set set on Earth, right?

Brother Devon: Yeah.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Earth in the alien universe.

Brother Devon: Yeah. I don't think we have like too many details in terms of like what the actual plot is.

MERLINCHESTNUT: I believe there was never a film set on Earth in the alien universe. Pretty sure.

Brother Devon: Uh, maybe somebody doesn't remember aliens versus predator requiem where.

MERLINCHESTNUT: No, I'll do you one better, Devin. Not only do I not remember it, I've never seen it.

Brother Devon: Me neither. It's too dark, literally, just it's very difficult to watch that movie visually.

MERLINCHESTNUT: You know, really.

Brother Devon: It's the whole thing's the battle of the bastards. I'm sorry, not bastards.

MERLINCHESTNUT: That all the aliens.

Brother Devon: Yeah, about the aliens. It's just dark and rainy.

slimeballsteve: Not Helm's Deep, god damn it. i The one from the very last few episodes of Game of Thrones.

Brother Devon: No.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Do you think predators now get like insulted when they're called aliens?

Brother Devon: Yeah, yeah.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Because like that's what we would refer to them under the umbrella.

Brother Devon: Yeah, I mean, who do you think I am?

slimeballsteve: They're like, come on, man.

Brother Devon: You think I'm like basically a cockroach, dude?

slimeballsteve: Come on, man.

Brother Devon: Ew.

slimeballsteve: Ew.

Brother Devon: Fuck you, exoskeleton.

MERLINCHESTNUT: like That would make me upset.

Brother Devon: That's disgusting.

MERLINCHESTNUT: No, you're thinking ah you're thinking of the other guy.

Brother Devon: Oh, like I have two mouths.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Jesus Christ.

Brother Devon: I have four crab things.

slimeballsteve: You think I got acid blood? What are you nuts?

Brother Devon: No, no, it's green.

MERLINCHESTNUT: It's green, but it doesn't burn you.

Brother Devon: It's just not as.

MERLINCHESTNUT: if Come on.

Brother Devon: Hello, well look at us entirely different.

MERLINCHESTNUT: ah

slimeballsteve: I'm a Danny Glover.

Brother Devon: Oh, God.

MERLINCHESTNUT: ah He just goes, ah fuck it. He just blows up.

slimeballsteve: yeah He just blows himself up.

Brother Devon: ah You know, I saw a very stupid and I'm so I'm like mad it got me. but It was, it's the scene, right? Where he's like, what the hell are you? And he lifts up his thing.

Brother Devon: And it's like, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo. And like, I just got me. And I was like, all right, fine.

MERLINCHESTNUT: like a little keyboard.

Brother Devon: Fuck you. Fuck you, internet.

slimeballsteve: You got me.

Brother Devon: Yeah, you got me.

slimeballsteve: There's your comedy. You don't need comedy anymore.

Brother Devon: Yeah.

slimeballsteve: The internet's just too funny.

Brother Devon: That's what I watch.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Let's churn it out.

Brother Devon: The Office? No, thank you. That's the hardest I've laughed in a decade. That's that's funnier than Mario 64.

Brother Devon: As I said, thanks Astrobot. Chris, you also posted a trailer for this movie called Monsters, the Lyle and Eric Menendez story.

MERLINCHESTNUT: No, Devin, it's not a movie, silly pants.

Brother Devon: I'm sorry.

MERLINCHESTNUT: It's a series.

Brother Devon: Oh, a Netflix series? They never do those.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Yes, sir.

slimeballsteve: The Menendez Brothers are getting a series?

Phantom Libtard: it so Is that like the season two of the of the Jeffrey Dahmer show?

MERLINCHESTNUT: Yeah, yes. So the new focus on on monsters ah this season will be on the Menendez brothers, the fellas that murdered their family, mother and father in bed while they were sleeping with shotguns bloomed to pieces.

Phantom Libtard: The serial killer verse

Brother Devon: Oh.

MERLINCHESTNUT: And yes, it will be on focus on the brothers themselves. and their lives and I believe their spoiled lives in which they were trying to take their father's wealth.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Who was also, I think, abusive. I remember correctly.

Brother Devon: Probably.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Yeah, it was this whole terrible scandal and awful murder. And yeah, it's going to be a whole season.

Brother Devon: Are you familiar with this story at all?

MERLINCHESTNUT: Yeah, I remember when we were growing up a little bit, ah they made fun of it on cable guy when I was a kid.

Brother Devon: Okay.

MERLINCHESTNUT: And I i remember asking my brother Like, what is that? i got I didn't get it. And he explained. He's like, oh, yeah, the two two brothers, they killed their parents.

Brother Devon: I do like we should do that.

MERLINCHESTNUT: And I'm like, whoa.

Brother Devon: And then I don't.

slimeballsteve: do do do do do do

MERLINCHESTNUT: Yeah.

Brother Devon: Do.

Brother Devon: But I mean, the trailer seems to apply that one brothers way crazier than the other and the other is just the dope who got convinced.

MERLINCHESTNUT: yeah Like, I don't know the specifics if that's what you're asking.

Brother Devon: Yeah, yeah.

MERLINCHESTNUT: But I knew I knew of them and what the whole thing.

Brother Devon: Yeah, well, I mean, you know, reading all these serial killers, I didn't know if they were. In your in your in your top 10.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Well. Sorry, baby, they don't got the body count for me.

Brother Devon: OK, just. It's quality, Chris.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Yeah, you're right. You're right.

slimeballsteve: Is it me or does the one brother like Will Forte?

Brother Devon: Over quantity.

MERLINCHESTNUT: I think they're going for that.

Brother Devon: What a real life they

MERLINCHESTNUT: I think they're going for that.

slimeballsteve: Neither going for Will Forte?

MERLINCHESTNUT: I think they're going, because listen, there's something I've noticed about a lot of these shows.

slimeballsteve: Not my belts!

MERLINCHESTNUT: You don't flush the door. I want to see what you've done.

MERLINCHESTNUT: who

MERLINCHESTNUT: ah I like, cause I feel like some of these shows, especially American Murder Story, which is the same guy, American Horror Story, same guy as American Horror Story, he's the same writer, Ryan Murphy.

Phantom Libtard: ah ryan Ryan Murphy or whatever.

MERLINCHESTNUT: right um i like his I like his take on historical events because I think he adds this layer of silliness to everything.

Phantom Libtard: The Murph dog.

MERLINCHESTNUT: And I just eat it up. like even Even the Dahmer stuff, there's some scenes in that show that are really silly that made me laugh.

MERLINCHESTNUT: like but That scene where he's in prison and he's playing whale songs at like full volume and and he's keeping everybody up like in his book. these well And the guy in the garden comes in, he's all pissed off. He's like, you gotta shut that fucking shit off. He's like, I'll just get more. Like a real prick. Oh man. That made me laugh. Um, I don't know. Like,

MERLINCHESTNUT: It's something to a shows like the the OJ Simpson trial, like the way a lot of those people were portrayed, I think it was a little silly like and I liked it.

slimeballsteve: Is this the same guy?

MERLINCHESTNUT: Yeah. Yeah.

slimeballsteve: Oh, okay.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Same guy.

slimeballsteve: All right.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Andrew Canaan in the death of Versace.

Phantom Libtard: doo doo doo doo doo doo doo

MERLINCHESTNUT: Like all all of those. i I love them. I watch. I really do like the way he captures real life events. And he focuses on really terrible people.

MERLINCHESTNUT: um And it's great. It just. It's kinda trashy. A little. This is the stuff that I like though, I'm interested in.

Brother Devon: Yeah, I mean, yeah, I mean, these guys, they seem peak fucking trashy.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Yeah, it's definitely gonna be 90s. 90s, like early 80s, 90s trash.

slimeballsteve: Yeah.

Brother Devon: Yeah.

MERLINCHESTNUT: That's the whole show is gonna be.

Brother Devon: Yeah. Speaking of trashy, uh, Stevie posted the Mr. McMahon trailer, um, which

slimeballsteve: Yeah.

MERLINCHESTNUT: What is, is this a smear job? What is this?

Brother Devon: Well, so it was Steve brought up an interesting point initially. So WWE made a, they signed a deal where in next year they're going to be like on Netflix, like their live shows are going to be on Netflix.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Oh, really?

slimeballsteve: Yeah, they're moving all their content.

Brother Devon: Yeah. Um, and then I don't, I don't know if it's raw and smackdown or if it's just going to be raw or, or one of the other.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Wait, they're not going to be, they're not going to be at all on television or is it going to be like a dual bra broadcast?

slimeballsteve: I think it's wrong. I know that like they're right now they're on peacock, but I think they're they're moving over to Netflix 2025.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Oh, I see.

slimeballsteve: So because what happened was because of all the Mr.

Brother Devon: Yeah.

slimeballsteve: McMahon stuff, I think um there was ah I don't remember the timeline, but I know the w WWE and UFC kind of like made a deal with one another under like, join the Rock Johnson and like a bunch of people.

slimeballsteve: And they started this thing called TKO. And that is like, they're like, they're over company now. And they signed the deal with Netflix.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Interesting. So was this before or after Vince McMahon left the company?

Brother Devon: Yeah.

slimeballsteve: I kind of, I kind of forget.

Brother Devon: This was like during kind of like this was like when they were kind of trying to get them out anyway.

slimeballsteve: Yeah.

MERLINCHESTNUT: So all were they trying to get him out so they could get the deal passed, do you think?

slimeballsteve: They're trying to do it quietly.

Brother Devon: Yeah, they're trying to get away.

Brother Devon: Well, this was because remember, remember when he he like retired, but then like came back.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Yeah, yeah, thought totally.

Brother Devon: And then and then this stuff about his all him, you know, doing all that terrible shit came up. ah like a new thing came up and then they're like, dude, you got to go.

MERLINCHESTNUT: yeah really bad

Brother Devon: Yeah, you got to go.

slimeballsteve: Mm

MERLINCHESTNUT: really bad

Brother Devon: So, yeah. So I guess my my point is, though, is like, yeah, it's like, is this going to be almost like a rehab shop? Like, well, listen, he did a lot of good stuff, blah, blah, blah.

Brother Devon: um But then, like later on, apparently they're saying that ah this is like a double burial of Vince McMahon.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Yeah,

Brother Devon: And they're like, no, this guy's a fucking monster.

MERLINCHESTNUT: really bad.

slimeballsteve: -hmm

MERLINCHESTNUT: Really bad.

Brother Devon: um

MERLINCHESTNUT: I think the Netflix deal was contingent on him not being there.

slimeballsteve: I wouldn't be surprised, yeah.

Brother Devon: I mean, at that point, they I mean, it was getting to a point where they're like, dude, he cannot be involved. But like. Yeah, I think this is by the Tiger King guy.

Brother Devon: um

slimeballsteve: Yes, I think that is correct.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Oh boy.

Brother Devon: And, and you know, I'll be, I'll be honest. I'm almost disappointed because there's probably nothing in this that's going to surprise me or probably you Steve, because we're like, Oh no.

Brother Devon: Yeah. This is, this is old news.

slimeballsteve: Yeah, we just hear the stuff.

MERLINCHESTNUT: I mean, I've heard some things, like I've read things about burritos and yelling at people and pranks, like all that stuff.

Brother Devon: I know, but it's just like, yeah, you've heard all those stories, but.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Like he wouldn't eat stop eating burritos or something.

Brother Devon: Yeah, or like if you sneeze, he freaks out on you and shit.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Yeah, I remember that one.

slimeballsteve: Hmm.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Yeah.

Brother Devon: Yeah.

slimeballsteve: But like if it's if it's going to be a burial, that's going to be interesting seeing all the people who like played ball for years suddenly just drop it and just like dump the shit on them.

MERLINCHESTNUT: They're gonna come out.

Brother Devon: Yeah.

MERLINCHESTNUT: You think they got the rock?

Brother Devon: And also like Vince McMahon was like.

MERLINCHESTNUT: You think they got the rock?

slimeballsteve: They're bigger than him now, yeah, like.

Brother Devon: Yeah, yeah.

MERLINCHESTNUT: No, I mean, do you think they got it from the documentary?

slimeballsteve: I mean, he's like he runs that one company, the TKO company.

Brother Devon: I think he's in the trailer, isn't he?

MERLINCHESTNUT: Oh boy.

slimeballsteve: He might be, yeah.

Brother Devon: ah Yeah.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Juicy, juicy, juicy, juicy.

Brother Devon: Yeah, or or it like might be old footage from like other interviews and all that shit, but like because what he says, like what he famously says, Vince McMahon, is he says, I play a character called Mr. McMahon.

Brother Devon: Mr. McMahon is a piece of shit. He's this, he's that. He's you know, he's all this other stuff. He's like Vince McMahon's a grandfather, normal guy, but he's like, the character is Mr.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Hmm Yeah, but that applies his private life yeah Hey, man, it's like Heisenberg maybe put that on you just got it's got power trip and he was like I'm gonna be familiar and I'm Heisenberg

Brother Devon: McMahon. He's a fucking terror. He's a terror. And you know, it's like, yeah, but you're actually a real life piece of shit.

slimeballsteve: Yeah, it's like, bro, that's you. That's just...

Brother Devon: That's actually you.

Brother Devon: Yeah. Oh, yeah. But, uh, no, it's gonna be, yeah, it's gonna be fascinating. I think six episodes coming in December, I think this year, for sure.

slimeballsteve: I think so. Yeah, that's the thing is like I am interested about that deal because it's like I don't want to watch Peacock. So like if they are getting like that content, I might watch it more regularly than I do now, which is nothing.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Man, i really I really don't want to watch Peacock ever. I'm the same boat, man.

slimeballsteve: No, dude, anytime anytime anything's on Peacock, I'm like, I don't want to touch that.

Brother Devon: Yeah.

MERLINCHESTNUT: No thanks.

Brother Devon: You know, you know, it's fun, though, is like because I have peacock um like with my Comcast subscription or whatever.

slimeballsteve: Yeah, same.

Brother Devon: So like when I'm sitting there, like picking my nose and it's like a Saturday or whatever. And I'm like, oh, Royal Rumble's on. And it's fun to just fire it up because I do have it, you know.

Brother Devon: But yeah, you're like, ooh, so much lands on. Let me fire up Netflix.

slimeballsteve: Oh, they got the summer flame.

Brother Devon: Oh, oh, they're doing the thing.

slimeballsteve: I want a documentary on doing that's it.

Brother Devon: But, uh, they're too scary.

MERLINCHESTNUT: that

slimeballsteve: Yeah.

Brother Devon: They kept trying to, but, uh, yeah, too scary.

slimeballsteve: Too scary.

Brother Devon: But yeah, TK holdings is the official owner of.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Doinkin' on Heaven's Door, the story of Doinkin' the Clown.

Brother Devon: ah Let me be like sweet tooth.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Is he dead? Is he dead?

Brother Devon: No.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Oh, nevermind.

slimeballsteve: Well, one of them is dead. The original is dead.

Brother Devon: Yeah.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Okay.

Brother Devon: Doink one is dead, but doinked, you know, like superheroes, super like rat catcher two.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Let's call it It. Call the movie It.

Brother Devon: Doink to. Yeah, um with some other trailers. Chris, I know you're a big fan of Wicked, so I put that on there for you.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Woo!

slimeballsteve: You saw that Broadway, right?

MERLINCHESTNUT: We got a new Wicket!

slimeballsteve: You saw that Broadway, right Chris?

MERLINCHESTNUT: Woo! Oh yeah, first day!

Brother Devon: Can I tell you a quick story about when I first discovered Wicked, like the con? I was like, oh, and I was like, I like went to tell Dave and Sam are real life friends. I was like, oh, man, there's this thing. And they're like, yeah, you fucking idiot. Like that's been a thing for like 10 years at this point.

Brother Devon: And I was like, Oh, I'm sorry.

MERLINCHESTNUT: I know, I know I'm Wicket. Yeah, it is conceptually it's a really cool idea.

Brother Devon: Yeah.

Brother Devon: Yeah. I was like, Oh man, did you know they're doing this? This is like years ago. Uh, they're like, yeah, it's been a thing for like a decade at this point. You fooled.

MERLINCHESTNUT: I've seen I've seen a performance of it. I was Meryl Streep in that one.

Brother Devon: Oh, so you know how it ends.

MERLINCHESTNUT: I think Meryl Streep is in that one, too.

Brother Devon: Okay. All right.

MERLINCHESTNUT: It was Meryl Streep. And I think James Corden was in it.

Brother Devon: Oh, okay.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Yeah, I know. That was before you I think he was a piece of shit, though.

Brother Devon: Dude.

MERLINCHESTNUT: I don't I don't.

slimeballsteve: he was He was like doing all the musicals. He was in that, he was in Into the Woods or something.

Brother Devon: Wait.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Oh, I think I'm thinking of the end of the woods.

Brother Devon: Yeah, yeah, yeah.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Yeah, I am thinking of it to the woods.

Brother Devon: Okay. Yo, by the way, uh, slightly off topic, but you know, Ariana Grande is in this.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Never mind.

Brother Devon: Did you see her hot ones episode?

MERLINCHESTNUT: and

slimeballsteve: No.

MERLINCHESTNUT: No.

Brother Devon: She has like zero reaction to any of the wings.

Phantom Libtard: Ariana Grande.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Whoa, cool.

Phantom Libtard: It's

Brother Devon: Like to a point where I'm like, is your entire like just, yeah, are you just fake?

Phantom Libtard: fixed.

MERLINCHESTNUT: It's cocaine. Cocaine, baby.

Brother Devon: She's just like, am I supposed to be reacting?

MERLINCHESTNUT: You lose your taste buds.

Brother Devon: This just seems really hot.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Cocaine and cigarettes.

Brother Devon: Yeah, dude. She's like, it's, it's like literally like uncomfortable to watch because she's just not reacting to anything.

slimeballsteve: but Dude, shoot she made sure she did the show when she had COVID.

Brother Devon: Yeah.

MERLINCHESTNUT: That's perfect.

Brother Devon: She's like, yeah, I feel like I should be sweating at least. This is like, what is happening, dude?

slimeballsteve: Hey man, I saw Donald Duck freak the fuck out, man.

Brother Devon: But on hot ones.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Was he all right? was Did he handle that okay?

slimeballsteve: ah No, they had to go back and repost it because they forgot to credit the animators.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Is he okay?

Brother Devon: Mm.

slimeballsteve: um Because he he killed them, he killed them afterwards.

Brother Devon: Way to go.

MERLINCHESTNUT: I knew he was going to do that.

Brother Devon: Hot ones.

slimeballsteve: Yeah.

MERLINCHESTNUT: It was a bad idea from the gecko.

slimeballsteve: I mean, ever since Goofy died in Kingdom Hearts, he's just been kind of a loose, loose cannon.

MERLINCHESTNUT: He's a mess. He needs to get a rehab.

slimeballsteve: Yeah.

Brother Devon: Yeah.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Maybe his friend Pete Davidson will help him out.

Brother Devon: Oh, they're dating, I heard.

slimeballsteve: Hey, right back to Ariana Grande.

Brother Devon: I heard they're dating. Yeah.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Yeah, Donald Duck and Ariana Grande.

slimeballsteve: Oh, yeah, there they go.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Yeah, they did.

slimeballsteve: She likes a big duck.

Brother Devon: ah Yeah. Also, Arkane season two trailer. Sad.

slimeballsteve: That's sad.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Sid!

slimeballsteve: That's so sad.

Brother Devon: It's just sad.

slimeballsteve: and so said

MERLINCHESTNUT: I tried!

Brother Devon: Let's see. And then there's a Silent Hill to remake announcement that's going to let you turn off the old UI and apply the old school 90s filter, John.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Can you please turn off the game that you made so I can play the game I want?

slimeballsteve: I would've played the good one. Dude, I talked to Tim. Guys, i tried to I tried to talk to Tim about what we talked about last week.

Brother Devon: What do you say?

MERLINCHESTNUT: What? Yeah, I think I was there for that.

slimeballsteve: Tim said to me about about the the discussion we had on last podcast.

Brother Devon: What do you say?

Phantom Libtard: um about what yeah corpora

Brother Devon: like vibe viber or story and all that.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Yeah, what'd he say?

slimeballsteve: And Tim said, I don't wanna get in between you rats.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Oh, boy.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Oh, boy.

slimeballsteve: And then he hung up on me, so.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Oh, shit.

Brother Devon: oh well

MERLINCHESTNUT: He said he called me a rat?

slimeballsteve: He called us rats.

MERLINCHESTNUT: He called us rats?

Phantom Libtard: rats go back in your fucking corporate cheese hole

slimeballsteve: Yeah, he said, go back in your cheese hole, bitch.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Oh!

slimeballsteve: And I was like, oh my God. Oh my God.

MERLINCHESTNUT: God, I'm gonna talk to him. I got a letter I've been writing him for a while now.

slimeballsteve: Yeah.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Yeah, dude.

Phantom Libtard: There's a theory i want to that's floating around that I want to pick Tim's brain about that I saw.

slimeballsteve: A game theory.

MERLINCHESTNUT: yeah

Brother Devon: Yeah, I like this theory.

Phantom Libtard: Somebody saw like ah like a letter. I don't know what the context of the letter was, but it was like similar but different than the same one that was in the original game. So there's like a theory going around that that Silent Hill 2 remake is It's like Final Fantasy 7 remake where it's actually like a sequel to the original.

MERLINCHESTNUT: boy

Phantom Libtard: Backed by the the theory that James is hell in Silent Hill is like just looped like he just keeps going through it over and over again.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Boy Cool Tim's gonna love that No, no, no, no I was being sarcastic no Yes, yes, yes he's gonna throw up he's gonna throw up Don't bring it up

Phantom Libtard: You think he'll like that? You think he'll that'll make him play the game? Yeah. Oh, yeah oh, you mean he's going to hate it? You mean he's going to hate it? OK.

slimeballsteve: Dude, he was, he was very adamant on the, he was like, he's like, Silent Hill 2, what are you gonna do?

Phantom Libtard: All right, so I won't bring it up. I won't bring it up.

slimeballsteve: He's like, you can't, they made it longer.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Yeah.

slimeballsteve: And it's like, he's like, I don't trust them with that material.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Yeah.

Brother Devon: did I mean, Tim's in the position where

Phantom Libtard: Yeah, it's it's longer. And then I i posted the, i posted the they they released the track list for the soundtrack and it's like 50 tracks with different titles of the, so that that can't feel good either.

Brother Devon: Yeah.

MERLINCHESTNUT: James gets a pizza with his friend.

Brother Devon: I mean, like just their visit, there's literally nothing that they could do to make him happy, which is part of the fun. Let's be honest.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Yes.

Phantom Libtard: But also, it's like like what ah like I don't know i don't know what um like if they just if they just remade it like you know frame by frame, but with updated graphics or whatever.

slimeballsteve: You're right, you're right.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Great the nature of a remake you're always you're gonna get complaints both ways.

Brother Devon: You get people complaining that that's.

Phantom Libtard: like that would be That would be bad. I think that would be bad, too. you know

Brother Devon: I agree.

MERLINCHESTNUT: That's just the way it is.

slimeballsteve: I think the thing about Silent Hill 2 is if that HD remake wasn't so bad or not each day remake, when they did the HD remasters back on the 360 and stuff like that, they were so bad.

MERLINCHESTNUT: I

Phantom Libtard: Did they do one for Silent Hill 2?

slimeballsteve: Yeah, they did.

Phantom Libtard: I don't think they did.

slimeballsteve: They did. And they they literally like some of the signs in the city use Comic Sans like.

Brother Devon: Yeah. Yeah. That's, I mean, there's like, it's so infamously.

Phantom Libtard: Was that like a remaster? That was a remaster?

slimeballsteve: it was it was ah It was a remaster because, um you know, they were like, we're gonna do this for like a year of Silent Hill. And apparently the Silent Hill 2 has, they lost a lot of the original stuff for it.

slimeballsteve: So they had to go in and kind of try and do their best.

Brother Devon: Yeah. They had like a version that was like 60 % done or something.

Phantom Libtard: Oh man, it got Toy Story, Toy Story 2'd.

Brother Devon: Yeah.

slimeballsteve: Yeah.

MERLINCHESTNUT: What do you got against Comic Sans?

slimeballsteve: Oh, I love the Comic Sans.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Okay, yeah.

slimeballsteve: It always makes me laugh.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Makes me giggle whenever I see it, personally.

Brother Devon: I think the vibes of Comic Sans are more important.

slimeballsteve: but he It's more of a papyrus vibe, I feel, Silent Hill.

MERLINCHESTNUT: ah

slimeballsteve: um But the thing is, it's like I we are very lucky because the Silent Hill fan community is like that fervent that they went the lengths of the Star Wars.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Twittily winks, twittily winks.

slimeballsteve: The specialized editions were like those fans took those like the footage and like brought it to HD. They updated it and like people took the PC version of Silent Hill 2 and they made it HD.

slimeballsteve: They updated it. They updated like daily. Like I get like updates on their Twitter.

Phantom Libtard: Wait, so does that mean that like because my whole thing, too, was like how they could really just win everybody over is real like just put the original game inside the this release, you know?

slimeballsteve: If Konami wanted to, they could make a deal with GOG or somebody to just release Silent Hill 2 and use the enhanced editions like files

MERLINCHESTNUT: Conk.

slimeballsteve: Because that's what they they've done with other games.

Phantom Libtard: Oh, because they have them, yeah. Yeah.

slimeballsteve: Yeah, they could just do that. They they did that for Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines.

Phantom Libtard: It's like it's like 30 megabytes, like that's all it it is or something like that. Like it's it's absurd how small the files are. Just release the the original game on there, you know, then there.

slimeballsteve: Did you see that ah they also recently put Resident Evil, the original ones, the the PlayStation ones, Resident Evil 1, 2, and 3 on GOG.

Brother Devon: Oh.

slimeballsteve: You can play them on PC all updated.

Phantom Libtard: How dare they remake Resident Evil one?

slimeballsteve: No, they didn't remake it, they didn't remake it. It is...

Phantom Libtard: How dare they Release Resident Evil 1 director's cut months after the original was released.

slimeballsteve: i am I am so scared of this remake, but also I am so interested. I am so interested to dunk my head in and see what this beast is.

Phantom Libtard: I mean, I'm going to play. Yeah, I'm going to play it.

MERLINCHESTNUT: same Same here. and I kinda am too.

Phantom Libtard: How dare you guys.

Brother Devon: I'm excited to like finally be able to play it.

Phantom Libtard: Oh, shut the fuck up, Devin.

MERLINCHESTNUT: a

slimeballsteve: Come on, come on, be nice.

Phantom Libtard: Shut up, shut up.

Brother Devon: Serious. I'm serious.

Phantom Libtard: Oh, shut up, Evan.

Brother Devon: Oh, fuck off.

Phantom Libtard: How dare you? How dare you play silent play one of my games?

Brother Devon: Like a play, ah ah an actual playable version of this game. The Silent Hill 2 stinks on fucking toast.

Phantom Libtard: Yeah, Tim, ah he had he gave me the enhanced edition. I just have to figure out how to fucking play it on my computer.

slimeballsteve: is that There's a lot ah a lot of hoops you gotta jump through for that.

Phantom Libtard: He's like, oh, it's easy.

slimeballsteve: but

MERLINCHESTNUT: so Jump dude some hoops.

Phantom Libtard: It's just this 15 step process that you got. I'm like, OK, that's awesome.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Uninstall windows. What?

Brother Devon: Yeah.

slimeballsteve: Yeah, he's just trying to Yeah.

Phantom Libtard: I just don't I just don't know.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Uninstall windows?

Phantom Libtard: I just don't understand. Like it's weird when you remake a game that you've never actually like released multiple times. Anyway, it's weird. It's kind of weird, I think.

Phantom Libtard: I don't know. Because like this, they're like like it's it's it came out so long ago.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Yeah.

Phantom Libtard: Like it would make more sense if they did like Final Fantasy IV remake, right?

slimeballsteve: Mhm.

Phantom Libtard: Because we've seen it on however many platforms already, right? I know that Final Fantasy 7. Oh, wait. Excuse me, David. I know it's not a remake, even though it's called Final Fantasy 7.

Phantom Libtard: It's definitely not a remake.

MERLINCHESTNUT: yeah

Phantom Libtard: Let me think.

Brother Devon: It's a Right,

Phantom Libtard: Let me think of it. Let me think of another example. Resident Four is a bad example because they've released that 35 times a year since it came out.

Brother Devon: I mean there is an original, um you know reme remand master of obviously seven

Phantom Libtard: but Like Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil, Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3, like. They've released that, you know, the same game for multiple different consoles generations, like since PlayStation one, right? To the point where like sometimes it's limited and and those copies for like Xbox 360 and or just end up like GameCube or whatever were were like overpriced or whatever. But like, you know, that's a game that different generations have gotten a chance to play the original. So like a remake is a remake of it is kind of like

Phantom Libtard: Like, I don't know, like justified at that point.

Phantom Libtard: I don't know what I'm trying to say here, like.

Brother Devon: So you're saying like there should be something like it needs to justify this level of remake that they're doing.

Phantom Libtard: Like a game.

Phantom Libtard: I guess because, yeah, I don't know, like. Because, yeah, like you're going like it's a it's a high risk to it's it's high risk because it only came out like what there's only one version of the game basically before.

Brother Devon: Yeah.

Phantom Libtard: And we're going off of like nostalgia and like, you know, people reminiscing about a game that has come out forever ago. It's not like people were able to play.

Brother Devon: yeah

Phantom Libtard: Play it a few times, you know. Like, you know, Resident Evil 2 is like, oh, yeah. You know, we played it. I played it for PlayStation one.

Phantom Libtard: I played it for N64. I played it, you know, play played Resident Evil 2 again on on playstation port PlayStation Portable or whatever.

Brother Devon: Yeah Play the pc port But is that even like yeah, I guess that's more like a re -release though, right because it's not like

Phantom Libtard: Like, yeah, we're due. We need we need a remake of this game.

Phantom Libtard: No, but I mean, that's why they that's why like that's why it was like kind of do that.

Brother Devon: This should large leave its name.

Phantom Libtard: Like we we needed an actual remake of the game because they're they've released the original. They've re -released the original so many times or, you know, a few times before.

Phantom Libtard: Whereas Silent Hill 2, it's like you can't even get your fucking hands on the game if you wanted to play the original right now.

slimeballsteve: Yeah, it was a PlayStation 2 Xbox game.

Phantom Libtard: Which is like, which is kind of silly. Because I'm sure a lot of people that are kind of interested in the game too are like, oh, like maybe I should play the original as well, you know, and see how, see how it works.

Phantom Libtard: Like, you know, there are fucking sickos out there that want to do that, you know.

slimeballsteve: it is It is kind of crazy that like Silent Hill has like stayed in our lexicon, even though like we haven't gotten like a good Silent Hill game since that era of like Silent Hill.

Phantom Libtard: Just like three, I guess.

slimeballsteve: Yeah.

slimeballsteve: like it's like you know people People still talk about like like those games and like Pyramid Head and stuff like that.

Phantom Libtard: Yeah, like now pyramid has just like a fucking gym. He's a gym guy, a gym, bro.

slimeballsteve: Yeah, yeah, yeah, he's just.

Phantom Libtard: Like that's a pyramid.

Brother Devon: He's got an eight pack, dude.

Phantom Libtard: That's a pyramid. It's like Jim Bros are like they they have pyramid head muscle shirts on when they go to the gym like that.

Brother Devon: Yeah.

Phantom Libtard: It's like how punter like cops have punisher skulls on their on their cop cars where it's like, you don't get it, dude.

Brother Devon: Yeah, I mean, he literally had he had ah his juicy ass need to be patched out of dead by daylight.

Phantom Libtard: You'll get it.

Brother Devon: Or something, right?

Phantom Libtard: Oh, man.

Brother Devon: But yeah.

slimeballsteve: They did, you right.

Phantom Libtard: Yes, I don't know, man, because, yeah, it would be nice to just, you know, fucking spend ten dollars on the original game.

Brother Devon: Oh.

slimeballsteve: yeah

Phantom Libtard: I don't know this year or last year to play through it.

slimeballsteve: No matter what like you would make money if if you just put out both Now

Phantom Libtard: It's just as. I just feel like Konami is just Konami is not him. Konami is not does not have that dog and then that Capcom does, you know.

slimeballsteve: they got the Plinko money man Yeah

Brother Devon: i mean Honestly, you're not wrong.

Phantom Libtard: It's like a part like a like a part of it feels like it's a cash grab, you know, because they see the remakes of these horror games coming out. They see Resident Evil 4 fucking, you know, like the world on fire again.

Phantom Libtard: And then, you know, and they're like, oh, we have a popular, very popular like fucking

slimeballsteve: We got scary game.

Phantom Libtard: survival horror game, that's, you know. Yeah, we have Silent Hill, too, which is like, you know, a classic. Let's fucking let's let's spend the least amount of money on a studio to fucking make it.

MERLINCHESTNUT: imagine Imagine us if we were as resident, pun intended, about Resident Evil 4 Remake, as Tim is about Silent Hill 2.

slimeballsteve: Hmm.

Phantom Libtard: No, but I I I kind of was, too.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Imagine if the world that we would live in, you were, really?

Phantom Libtard: a little bit like, you know, like we would remember they were there were the um remember the whole thing. It was like a fucking robot Salazar's not like the the the whole, you know, it was still in this, but like we but but like, you know, I was like, I hope they don't they don't lose that aspect of the game.

MERLINCHESTNUT: I know, but that was more just silliness. like

Phantom Libtard: Like, I hope they don't try to make it serious, more serious.

Brother Devon: Yeah.

Phantom Libtard: Like, because, yeah, because Resident Evil 2 is pretty fucking serious, seriously fucking scary, you know.

MERLINCHESTNUT: more serious, you know?

Brother Devon: Yeah. oh

Brother Devon: Yeah.

MERLINCHESTNUT: No, I get that.

Brother Devon: Also like, also though, like.

MERLINCHESTNUT: But like, I think we were a little bit happy that it was being made by them, you know, like the people that were making it.

Phantom Libtard: it would Yeah, yeah, yeah, like it was like yeah, cuz what what happened they dropped the Resident Evil 3 team and they put the Resident Evil 2 team on it or something like 1 -4 Yeah, but also the the

slimeballsteve: Mm -hmm On for ya

MERLINCHESTNUT: Yeah, we knew, we knew.

Brother Devon: Yeah. And but just like, you know, like two and three remakes, I don't know if you whatever feel about three, but it's like Capcom still had a really good history of remaking their own games where like Lueber Blueber is just a lot of concerns there.

Phantom Libtard: Resident Evil 4 also was was low risk like in comparison to Silent Hill 2 right because Yeah, cuz like if it didn't do well, like if it was a failure like it's not like, you know, I Don't know.

slimeballsteve: yeah

MERLINCHESTNUT: Um, yeah, yeah.

Brother Devon: Yeah.

MERLINCHESTNUT: I, yeah.

Phantom Libtard: It's it's not like it would have mattered because You know then you know the fucking and purists or whatever would just be like, yeah, it's whatever Well, I guess like it's all to two isn't is it is it high risk?

Phantom Libtard: I guess I don't know it's

MERLINCHESTNUT: Resident Evil 4 is a masterpiece.

Phantom Libtard: It's high risk because it's not like.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Like the original is a masterpiece.

Phantom Libtard: Yeah, the original the original is a masterpiece, yeah.

MERLINCHESTNUT: But I trusted, i I trusted those people because I played their games before and I knew they they, I knew they could do it.

Phantom Libtard: Yeah, and I just recently played it too. Like yeah, that's the thing I would. I'd recently played it like a year by year.

MERLINCHESTNUT: There was no, there was no, there was very little doubt in my mind that team wouldn't make a good game, a great game actually.

Phantom Libtard: Yeah, I think that I think what was. What sold it for me was the one the trailer that they released. And like think of I forgot what what event it was.

MERLINCHESTNUT: They got Steve telling me the only thing Bloober Team made was some sort of game called...

Phantom Libtard: I think it was a PlayStation event.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Odd World? Yeah, I don't...

slimeballsteve: Yeah, they did ah Abe's Odyssey.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Yeah, I mean, that's it. That's all we got. And I love Odd World, but come on.

slimeballsteve: It's a world.

MERLINCHESTNUT: And I'm just an Abe in it.

Phantom Libtard: Yeah, the state of the state of play in twenty twenty two. When you heard when you hear this, you heard the Spanish music.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Yeah, come on.

Phantom Libtard: You know, like that's when I was like, OK, all right. All right, we got where they're cooking.

Brother Devon: we're We're in a good spot here.

Phantom Libtard: They're cooking here.

MERLINCHESTNUT: There was no Spanish music moment for Soundheld 2.

Phantom Libtard: They're cooking.

slimeballsteve: it that is That is kind of worrying where it's like, they yeah, you immediately knew when you saw the Resident Evil 4 trailer, yeah.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Remake.

slimeballsteve: you You were in for a safe ride.

Phantom Libtard: Yeah, you're like, therere yeah, there're I was like, OK. I was like, all right, but I think they're I think they're on the right track here. I think I'm i'm good. But ah yeah, but with silo too, when they revealed that it was like, I don't know, this is kind of gross.

Phantom Libtard: This is kind of gross what they're showing.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Yeah, not right. Something's not right.

Phantom Libtard: Like, and I guess they've changed some of those things since then, like the way James looks and. Because I think what what was the controversy before that he was older or younger or something like?

Brother Devon: Oh, like initially.

Phantom Libtard: I don't know. Yeah, initially when they first revealed it.

Brother Devon: It was like they didn't look the way his hair looked. That was it. we At the end of the day, we're still talking about gainers, you know?

Phantom Libtard: The way the like the tone the tone of his voice or whatever.

Brother Devon: They were like, his hair looks funny.

MERLINCHESTNUT: I don't like the way any of your hairs look, but you don't see me complaining.

Brother Devon: I don't.

Brother Devon: That's jealousy.

MERLINCHESTNUT: I don't care. I'm like, oh, I would do so much more with that.

Brother Devon: I have no idea what they're doing.

MERLINCHESTNUT: That's what I'm thinking.

Brother Devon: I'd make that a fauxhawk. They're crazy.

MERLINCHESTNUT: What you doing with that dumb haircut? That's all I think.

Brother Devon: Yeah, it's just I think honestly. Like. Most people probably won't even care that, like, so I would do like the right. Oh, cool. This is like a good. I heard about this game. I like this game. Like when I at the end of the day, they were like, I heard Silent Hill 2 was really good. I played it and I really enjoyed it.

Brother Devon: You know, you're going to have the maniacs, the Tim's of the world that are just going to hate that it exists.

MERLINCHESTNUT: I think he's a Hulkamaniac, if anything, but I wouldn't call him a maniac.

slimeballsteve: I think like the best case scenario is like this game follows Silent Hill to a T. The worst case scenario is Bloober Team bloobs all over it and blube it to hell.

Brother Devon: I want them to, I want, I want to say that and be like,

MERLINCHESTNUT: And you know, and the name is not helping.

slimeballsteve: Dude.

MERLINCHESTNUT: The name is not helping them.

Phantom Libtard: Yeah, but yeah, but the thing is, like, if they if they follow it to a tee, like, is that is that good, too? Because think about they've changed. They changed they change like a bunch of different little things in Resident Evil 4 remake, but they were all like really good changes that that added to to the experience.

Brother Devon: Yeah.

slimeballsteve: I can't, I can't trust Bloober Team after I saw what they did with their other games.

Phantom Libtard: You know.

Phantom Libtard: I think that's where that's that's what it boils down to, is the studio.

slimeballsteve: They just, they don't have the maturity to handle concepts like that.

MERLINCHESTNUT: They don't have the finesse. They don't have the finesse, the little, little things.

slimeballsteve: They would be really good with maybe like a booger man.

MERLINCHESTNUT: I don't want them touching that.

slimeballsteve: ah Maybe, maybe like Chuck Rock.

MERLINCHESTNUT: No, no, no.

Phantom Libtard: Yeah, because it's not like they remade, they did a remake of Silent Hill 1 and it was really good.

MERLINCHESTNUT: There you go. Thank you.

slimeballsteve: Right.

Phantom Libtard: Like Resident Evil did with with all the other remakes that came before 4.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Yeah.

slimeballsteve: You they they handed the keys to the best game of that franchise to this.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Which is weird.

slimeballsteve: Like they didn't go for like the test run.

Phantom Libtard: So it is high risk. It is high risk then.

slimeballsteve: I would say so.

Phantom Libtard: Because this could be like, the reason I'm saying it's high risk is if this is a super flop, butre We're probably never going to see another son of a game ever again.

slimeballsteve: No, no.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Probably.

Phantom Libtard: I think in my opinion, because like we we haven't seen one in a while and like this could be like it's almost like um I guess Resident Evil seven in that sense where the franchise is almost dead.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Make it or break it.

Phantom Libtard: Like, is this going to be a good game or no? And it was really good. So like. I feel like a Resident Evil seven was ah like a fucking commercial flop.

Phantom Libtard: like it would have been or a were a critical flop to like it would have been we probably would have wouldn't probably a while before we saw another Resident Evil game even if re the remakes were not we would have never seen Resident Evil 2 remake probably right

slimeballsteve: Hmm.

slimeballsteve: Well, remember. Do do remember that Capcom had the sense to put out Resident Evil HD remake re make like in like was that 2014, 2015, right when the PlayStation four came out that that I was like, oh, yeah, this game still slaps.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Oof. Mmm. Yup.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Yes, it does.

Phantom Libtard: Yeah.

MERLINCHESTNUT: That remake's amazing, too.

slimeballsteve: Yeah, that's one of the best remakes ever made.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Yes. So, the GameCube Resident Evil.

Phantom Libtard: Which one, the first one?

slimeballsteve: The GameCube one?

Phantom Libtard: Yeah, no, that's yeah, that's all.

slimeballsteve: Mm -hmm.

Phantom Libtard: Yeah, that's cheap yeah, it's like because that's a little bit that's that's that's what they need. I guess that's what they should be doing with Resident Evil or with Silent Hill 2, right?

MERLINCHESTNUT: I think that's the way to do it.

slimeballsteve: They could have just released that enhanced edition to test the waters. They could have.

Phantom Libtard: Right. Because also Resident Evil because Resident Evil gamecube remake remake is not it's not it's not just a remaster like a graphical overhaul like they actually built it from the ground up but like made it the same game you know they made the same game and added crimson heads and yeah they they made same game aticrus head yeah it made it made it yeah out there out there

slimeballsteve: Right.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Yes.

slimeballsteve: Mm -hmm.

MERLINCHESTNUT: That's the way it should be done.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Yeah, Curzon heads fucking rule too.

slimeballsteve: Oh, they added Lisa too.

MERLINCHESTNUT: and Oh, oh you made the same game it made it scarier. Oh, whoa you how dare you?

slimeballsteve: Mm -hmm, mm -hmm.

MERLINCHESTNUT: who

Phantom Libtard: Well, yeah, so that's the thing. Like, do you think that's a possibility with with silo to remake then, Chris? Like, do you think they can do that?

MERLINCHESTNUT: love man

Phantom Libtard: Do you think it blueber like, i like, take take the take the um take the variable of of the studio out of the equation here and just think like, do you think it's po like, would it would it be a good game if if they remade silo to from the ground up, but just, you know, added crimson heads and so to speak.

MERLINCHESTNUT: See

MERLINCHESTNUT: and No, no Like it's a different tone like and it's a different story Like it just doesn't like that in Resident Evil makes sense.

Phantom Libtard: OK.

Phantom Libtard: Right, right, right, right, right.

MERLINCHESTNUT: You're in a spooky mansion There's another spooky element to the spooky mansion like it fits Yeah, you're fucking dead these things are chasing you Yes, that's Let's say

Phantom Libtard: Yeah, it's it's scary it's scary, not. Yeah, it's not scary in terms of it gets under your skin. It's scary that like you're going to die. Like it's yeah, it's like it's it's it's it's frantic, scary.

slimeballsteve: yeah Yeah.

Phantom Libtard: We're saying, oh, I don't have lighter. I don't have lighter fuel. This guy's going to fuck me up when I come back in this room later like that.

slimeballsteve: yeah

MERLINCHESTNUT: Let's call it they layered the fear.

Phantom Libtard: That's it. That's what it is.

MERLINCHESTNUT: There's layers of fear to the Resident Evil remake.

slimeballsteve: Hey, you know, that's the name of a blueberry team's first game.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Layers of fear.

Brother Devon: Is that true is that if they did that Korean it's your part of the payroll, dude I

slimeballsteve: Yeah. Yeah. That is the name of their first game. but

MERLINCHESTNUT: um I'm just, you know, putting this out there that I think this is an incredible team and they have a really incredible IP on their hands.

slimeballsteve: I knew it!

MERLINCHESTNUT: And I think they're going to make something great. So, you know, maybe we should play it. m Oh, God. That was not a joke.

MERLINCHESTNUT: You got me. You got me, Bean. You got me.

Brother Devon: He's always getting you dude.

slimeballsteve: You know, Mr. Bean says that it's true.

MERLINCHESTNUT: I think it's time to end her out, too, right?

slimeballsteve: Yeah, I think we we send her home.

Brother Devon: When the B when the B clips are getting played. Yeah, it's time.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Yeah. When he's telling me to shut up, I guess we gotta stop.

Brother Devon: It's done.

Brother Devon: Yeah.

Phantom Libtard: So in conclusion, Tim will never be happy.

Brother Devon: Tim will never be happy.

slimeballsteve: No.

MERLINCHESTNUT: No.

Brother Devon: John will never be happy with Astro bot and.

MERLINCHESTNUT: No. I'll never be happy.

Phantom Libtard: I just asked that I asked my cousin.

MERLINCHESTNUT: We'll follow fancy seven rebirth.

Phantom Libtard: I asked my cousin if he was getting Astro Bot. They said I was going to, but all I see are people comparing it to Mario. So I'm so I'm like, fuck that game. And I'm like, all right, I feel the same way.

Brother Devon: Well, you're like, I respect.

Phantom Libtard: All right, fair. It's fair.

MERLINCHESTNUT: We're never going to be happy, guys. We should change the name of the podcast that so anti happy.

Brother Devon: Anti happy.

MERLINCHESTNUT: No more happiness.

Phantom Libtard: to cyberpunk endings.

MERLINCHESTNUT: Yeah, that's our.

Phantom Libtard: never You can never be happy.

Brother Devon: yeah Congrats John, you beat it.

MERLINCHESTNUT: That's what this podcast is.

Phantom Libtard: i don't
