Introduction and Spoiler Alert

00:00:22
Speaker
Welcome to Peeves Gap Fest where sometimes we host a chapter by chapter page to screen analysis of the Harry Potter series and sometimes we just have a common room chat. I'm Meeks. I'm Sarah Day. I'm James.
00:00:35
Speaker
And today on this common room chat, we are gabbing about Agatha all along and how the lore of witches in this show differs from the wizarding world. But first we want to give a spoiler warning. We will be using our vast knowledge of the wizarding world to compare the page to the screen. And we may gab about moments that happen later in the books or the films, as well as up to episode three of Agatha all along. You've been warned, Dickle Firsties, before we begin a message from the Daily Prophet.

00:01:30
Speaker
Meegs, you actually sent me some samples for my birthday knowing that I was on this coffee alternative journey in 2024. And it ended up being the favorite of all of the different types I have tried. And I was really excited to learn more about the company. And when I went online to their website, I found that they actually have kind of a sample pack labeled coffee detox and the reason why I was going on this journey was because I did want to stop drinking so much coffee. I was drinking like three cups a day and it was really making my anxiety really bad and I was having really weird
00:02:17
Speaker
dreams, if you have anxiety, you you know where I'm going with this. So I really wanted to stop drinking so much caffeine which um kind of ah makes your anxiety height heightened. um And so I was really grateful to get these samples and learn more about Rasa. I tried the coffee detox and um it was really great and I drink it every morning and sometimes I'll have a cup of coffee or I'm sorry a cup of Rasa in the afternoon as well um and it's I don't have the jitters I don't have the anxiety it's a really great coffee alternative
00:02:54
Speaker
Yeah, I'm so glad that it worked out because I was actually given those samples by somebody else just to test them out. And um some of the flavors just weren't ah my particular flavor profile, but I figured that you would like them. And I knew, like you said, that you were trying to cut out coffee. And so I was like, this is perfect. And so I sent those over to you just kind of to see if you would like them. And I'm so glad that it worked out. It was it was ah really cool how that happened. Yes, thank you so much.

Witch Lore: Agatha vs. Harry Potter

00:05:54
Speaker
Welcome back, listeners. So as I mentioned earlier, today we're going to do a comparison of Agatha All Along to Harry Potter comparing the witch lore that is present in both. And the reason why is because Agatha All Along is currently um out now and they're in episode three of this season and so we figured it was good timing along with Halloween coming up and wanting to the host won us want us hosts wanted to discuss you know witches magical kind of creepy Halloween spooky type stuff and so we figured this was all perfect timing with Agatha all along coming out um at the same time so
00:06:35
Speaker
And also, we noticed that, as I'm sure other people did, who are Harry Potter fans as well as Marvel fans, noticed that there's so much about witch lore in Agathol along because it's a show about witches. And obviously, Harry Potter, being the wizarding world, is all about witches as well. But it's very different. And so we thought it would be interesting to do a comparison on how witch lore is portrayed in both of these um mediums and um you know how much they're able to put into Harry Potter you know based on everything else that that that needs to be covered but versus Agathol Along where they can focus more on witches. So we wanted to do a fun comparison. So right off the bat, how do you two feel about how the show Agathol Along is going? Oh, well, i I think this might be my new favorite show. That's super fun.
00:07:35
Speaker
Yeah, i to be honest, I really am enjoying it so far. I am obsessed with the ballad of the witch's road. I am obsessed with like them becoming a coven and all I can't wait to see all the trials. We have seen one now. I can't wait to see what the rest of them are. um The stakes have risen with this past episode with one character allegedly um passing away. um So I think they'll bring her back at the end. Maybe. I don't know. We'll see. um I just feel so bad for Mrs. Hart. Poor woman. Anyway, um yeah, i I don't know what else to say other than this. I think this is going to be my new favorite show until Harry Potter comes out, of course.
00:08:24
Speaker
I will say I wanted Mrs. Hart to survive to the end. That would have just been... and become a witch. Yeah. Well, you would just be like the the one and only mortal to ever survive the Witches Road. Oh, yes. um Yes. She's just like, I'm the only human that survived the Witches Road and like just and then like, like, I guess they get like granted a wish at the end or whatever. She would have just like wished for something very simple and just would have been happy and content with that. Like she didn't. I just would have thought that that would have been funny to take her all the way to the end. But
00:09:01
Speaker
I have my reasonings on why it probably happened, so we'll we'll just, I mean, we have to wait and see, obviously. Yes. Well, you have your theories. What are your theories?
00:09:16
Speaker
Well, my theory is is that she's
00:09:23
Speaker
Okay. My theory is, is that they're going to bury her. They're going to throw her off of the road. And then as soon as she's gone, outcomes. Um, Rio Rio. Yeah. Outcomes. Yeah. And she's be replacing Mrs. Hart in the coven place and they're going to keep going forward. And that's the end of Mrs. Hart.
00:09:51
Speaker
Well, and they've said, wait actually, yeah, they've said that the ballad is like the directions, right? And um one of the lyrics is, if one be gone, we carry on. So I kind of thought one at least one of them was going to die on the witch's road. um And I think it makes sense that it's Mrs. Hart. I just feel so bad for her.
00:10:15
Speaker
And yes, I agree with you. I think I like that you're saying like as soon as they throw her off the road or bury her or whatever, that maybe Rio comes back. I like that. I mean, obviously she's coming back. You can't have Aubrey Plaza in one episode. No. I mean, agreed with that. But I actually this whole time was thinking that Mrs. Hart is not as innocent as she seems.
00:10:43
Speaker
Tell us more. Sweet. I don't have anything. and I'm notoriously horrible at um fleshing out ideas and stuff. I'm happy with whatever happens. But um i just I just got the vibe that like it's she's just too she's so good at playing that like sweet, wholesome character that it's like there's no way in a show like this that that's who she really is. You know what I mean? It's like two on the nose that she's going to be like that.
00:11:12
Speaker
Okay, that's my one theory that I have.
00:11:17
Speaker
Well, if we're talking about theories, I did um write feedback into the MCU ah cast, but um I guess I could tell you guys too, it's about the teen. Wait, you have to say MCU podcast because otherwise remember for DragonCon, they're like, people think that it's the cast of the MCU, like actors of the MCU. Right, the MCU podcast, Marvel Cinematic Universe podcast from the Stranded Panda Network. Shout out to them.
00:11:43
Speaker
um i um Wrote in my very first email feedback to them ever. um So again showing you how much I really like this show um And it's about the teen and this past episode I just noticed that he was like asking the witches about themselves. I the one that comes to mind is Alice I believe he was talking to her and like questioning her and it was just he was just a little
00:12:17
Speaker
Um, questionable, like, um, I, I don't know. But my red string theory is that he's Mephisto.
00:12:29
Speaker
oh Interesting. But I think, um, I don't know how likely that will be. So let me continue. Um, but I do, I just want to put it out there in case it happens. Um, a lot of people are like, it's too obvious that he's Agatha's son. Like they, it was just way too in your face this past episode. That's a red herring, blah, blah, blah. I think if it is Agatha's son, I don't think she really traded him for the dark hold. I think.
00:13:04
Speaker
he was dying as an infant or toddler and she made a deal with Mephisto to save him and I don't know if whether she got the dark hold in that deal or whatnot I don't know but I think the the the deal like that she had to lose something and I think that she had to lose who he was like she doesn't know who he was but he was saved but she would never know who her son was again like she wouldn't recognize him however I don't want him to be Agatha's son I really want him to be Billy Maximoff aka Wiccan and I don't want him to be looking for Wanda I want him to be looking for his twin Tommy
00:13:50
Speaker
at the end of the road. So that is my spiel. Okay. Well, we'll see which one of us is right.
00:14:02
Speaker
I'm never right on any of these. Do you guys have any ideas about who he is and why? See, I'm thinking, I am thinking wicked.
00:14:16
Speaker
because they've been working really hard at putting the new Avengers together. Yes! That it's probably, that this is probably one of those things that it's gonna happen to put him together, ah add him into it. I need to get, I need to go back and watch if he says his boyfriend's name. He does not.
00:14:41
Speaker
because that would have been a big hint. Because obviously, Wiccan's boyfriend is a superhero called Hulkling. Oh, good point, James. so He never said his name. um I have seen this episode many of times because my four-year-old loves it, and she wanted she loves the song, and she wanted to see the show. So we've watched it a lot. That one episode.
00:15:05
Speaker
So, I mean, I mean, I'm keeping out for like little clues like that because Wiccan's boyfriend is Hoechling, who's another new Avenger. And if they're introducing them together or at least Hoechling coming in at late in a different show or movie. Question for you. And it would be you obvious. but Great point pointing out that he had a boyfriend and that Wiccan has a boyfriend in the comics.
00:15:32
Speaker
However, do you think they will still include Hulkling because they have, the Hulk has a son in the end of? Hulkling is a, um what's it called? It's actually not a, he's not related to Hulk at all. Hulkling is a combination of a Kree and Skrull,
00:16:01
Speaker
um a is a combination between the screen co-erase. He's basically, i I think if I remember correctly, his parents are part creep, part scroll. He's a combination of both. Why would they do that to us? That's so confusing. But they' he took on the name Hulkling because he was the Hulkish character of the new Avengers.
00:16:23
Speaker
ah But he is actually she has actually in the comics, he's ah royalty, so hes um he he's like the one person who can probably put the two kingdoms together, but there's lots of people who are are trying to prevent that from happening.
00:16:45
Speaker
um But basically, from what I understand, I don't want to have to do a little bit more research on Hulkling. He is basically the one person who can unite these warring kingdoms because the Skrulls and the Kree have been fighting each other forever in the comics. They are just arch-nemesis of ancient times, basically. Hulkling is the only one that what that could basically put them all together in all this other stuff. his His story is pretty interesting. And Wiccan's always there to support him as much as Hulkling is there to support Wiccan in Wiccan's adventures and stuff like that, so.

Magic Systems: Marvel vs. Harry Potter

00:17:26
Speaker
Okay, interesting. Well, should we compare Marvel to Harry Potter now? We just turned peas, guys.
00:17:40
Speaker
yes I think the biggest um like comparison is that Harry Potter is more of a young adult series. And it's also, I mean, there's there's things that are based in reality and historical lore, but um it's very much a world that she made up. um ah Whereas the witchcraft that's in Agatha, I feel like has a lot
00:18:11
Speaker
more of that um historical kind of lore, you know, Salem and um the different types of witchcraft. um Kind of like universal war too. Yeah, exactly.
00:18:31
Speaker
Yeah, that's what it seemed like. And it's really interesting for me because I don't know very much about it. And so I can I can tell that the things that they're saying are probably like, you know, universal things that anybody who's either studied witchcraft or has like, gone on deep dives and stuff like they would get these references and know what they're talking about. But there's a lot of it that I don't understand because I just I haven't learned about it. um So it's it's interesting to watch it.
00:18:59
Speaker
Yes, and I think that's why I'm enjoying it so much is that I have always been interested in the I mean, the supernatural in general, um but particularly witchcraft. i've um I have a deck of tarot cards that I've always wanted to actually learn how to use. I've dabbled in palm reading. I actually, have I ever told the story on the cast about my fear and magic class and my palm reading experience? I think so, but you can always say it again in case somebody missed an episode.
00:19:35
Speaker
So in college, I had a fear and magic class. And we learned all about kind of every different cultures. This was part of my anthropology major. And we learned all about different cultures, what they fear and what kind of like magic um and like kind of the history, like we're like how vampires were like that originated and stuff like that.
00:19:59
Speaker
and um what different cultures have as their main like scary thing. um But our final project for that class was to prove that magic existed. A lot of people went ghost hunting. I live in a very historical area with lots of ghost stories ah and lots of, like quote, haunted places, unquote. um But I chose palm reading. And what I did was I had people fill out a questionnaire And then I would read their palm and answer the questions from the questionnaire based on what I saw on their palm and then compare the questionnaire that they filled out with what I answered for them.
00:20:42
Speaker
um And what was really fun and interesting was I was also in a car accident at this time, someone rear ended me. And I was on pain meds for half of these interviews that I conducted. And the interviews that I was under the influence quote, were more accurate than the ones where I was sober. So I think that's why you've got like so many witches are kind of like kooky. Yeah, yeah. No, there's proof right here.
00:21:11
Speaker
yeah Yeah, that's cool. I have never taken a class like that. But that would be really interesting. Well, I i loved that class. And I loved that professor that I ended up taking so many of her courses. um That's why I double majored was because the school finally said, hey, if you actually take you know this class in this class, you can major in this as well. And I was like, OK. Yeah, that's really cool. Interesting.
00:21:40
Speaker
Yes, but back to Harry Potter. We're a Harry Potter podcast that's not talking about Harry Potter, people. What the heck? It happens from time to time. Just time to time. um I wanted to late maybe just touch bases on like the magic of it all. and so
00:22:01
Speaker
I think i've I've talked about it a little bit before, but like each creator of their own story and world has to do one important thing, and that's define what magic means for the universe. And the rules. The rules of it, how it's necessarily going to work, what are the like ah pros and the cons. and and all that other stuff, and JK Rowling does a really good job of defining that. ah The really biggest difference between JK Rowling's magic and Marvel magic is that Marvel magic has had a bunch of people input what the rules of magic are because it's not just one person creating this world, it's many different writers, it's many different editors, it's many different people who are going in, getting a chance to add
00:22:53
Speaker
ah story that they want to into this world which is why it's so big and know why it's so expansive and it's the same thing with the Marvel Cinematic Universe is that the Marvel Cinematic Universe has had multiple people come in look at magic and go okay this is the basics of what Kevin Feige has shown this is what we're going to show <unk> etc etc etc so on the one hand JK Rowling has a very Sets standard of rules for what magic is whereas we're still kind of figuring out what that is and even the show Agatha along It's gonna probably introduce some things that ah That are gonna completely change what magic means that we have not yet even been introduced yet.
00:23:39
Speaker
um I was just looking at the um ah mar the Marvel Cinematic Universe Wiki page, which is a fandom wiki, which ah you know still has probably a lot of holes in it because it's made by fans. ah But it just that list alone was just showing the different types of magic within the Marvel realm.
00:24:04
Speaker
you know Eldritch magic, which is Dr. Strange's magic. Chaos magic, which is Wanda's magic. um Witchcraft, which is Agatha Harkness. Dark magic from the Dark Dimension. um What else was on here?
00:24:26
Speaker
I have to go back a couple of... I got into a rabbit hole. uh Asgardian magic is different um because the Asgardians have their own type of magic uh then you have um necromancy which is you know Hela's magic and divine magic who who's the person of divine magic oh yeah divine magic it' celest is is god magic so um arthur harrow and amet amet giving arthur
00:25:02
Speaker
her power, which is a type of magic. So the god the the ancient gods of the Egyptian Empire, Greeks, ah technically even, um Asgard could be thrown into this, but Marvel is a very big god-type scenario, so they have, I guess, a divine magic. So they are
00:25:25
Speaker
The only ah the only thing here is they had on here was Arthur Harrow with on it. And then, of course, Moon Knight and everything to kind of piggyback off what you're saying. Marvel has such an expansive universe like we go into different planets and different realms and different dimensions. um Harry Potter is very grounded there. I guess maybe you can call it a different dimension, but the Wizarding World is ah Part of our world. It's just hidden um There's no other realms or planets or anything. So it's it's you know um Still consolidated within our world um which I think um I Don't know how to put it kind of I I think it just ties it back to how it's more of a kids and
00:26:21
Speaker
a young adult series, um whereas Agatha and Marvel is a lot more grown up and um Agatha specifically is is pretty grounded. um Although who knows where the witch's road is, whether that's a different realm or if it's all inside their head or whatever. We might found out in a few episodes, but um anyway.
00:26:44
Speaker
but um Yeah. So one thing um i want to point out too is they they there are different magical creatures in harry potter we know Um, the goblins use magic and, um, what does Dobby, how self uses magic. Um, but only wizards have, I know, uh, only wizard to use wands. Um, and I guess we have the dark hold in Agatha, but they don't necessarily use wands. So they don't really use artifacts to kind of channel their powers. Um, you know, Agatha.
00:27:26
Speaker
uses her hands, even Wanda uses her hands. um So um how the magic is concentrated this is also very different. too Yeah, definitely. I think that's also another thing um that is a big difference is that Harry Potter involves magical creatures a lot more than Marvel does.
00:27:54
Speaker
um Even in comics, like you don't get to like explore magical creatures as much as as much as like Harry Potter would go into. like Harry Potter explores like centaurs. and um, hippograss, testosterone, dementors, basilisks, whereas Marvel Comics may like, may show types of magical creatures. Um, it definitely has a small niche of characters that kind of go into like vampire and werewolf type scenarios. Um, but they aren't necessarily considered
00:28:30
Speaker
magical creatures, they're more considered monsters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Whereas in Harry Potter, they are considered magical creatures based off of the magical world.
00:28:43
Speaker
um So I mean, like there's differences like that too. and like I love Harry Potter and the magical and the magical creatures, just getting to expand on all of those and knowing how like how much is out there.
00:28:57
Speaker
um I currently play an app on my phone called Hogwarts Mystery, which is kind of fun and they have this little thing where you get to help Hagrid um keep creatures in what is called the creature reserve.
00:29:15
Speaker
which is just like a little reserve. It's kind of like a zoo almost, but not because it's outside and there's no gates and walls and stuff. But you go in and you like befriend, ah you befriend these magical creatures out in the wild and you like learn about them and you take your findings and back to Hagrid and stuff. And I have deep dived into that. I have so many different creatures that I've taken care of, but it's just kind of fun seeing all the little creatures from the acromantulas, which are giant spiders, to the troll, ah to a yeti, to...

Magical Creatures and World-Building

00:29:54
Speaker
um my My new favorite is the sea serpent. Yeah, a yeti. Yeah, a yeti. I mean, I know what a yeti is, but it shows up in this game? Yep, it shows up. I've befriended in everything. I've also have... Defriended? Yeah, I've befriended the yeti.
00:30:14
Speaker
I also have befriended doxies, pixies, gnomes, fairies, hippogriff. I'm currently working on. and right james i hate brag about all your I think like the the wizarding world is more like.
00:30:36
Speaker
I don't know how to to put this because the eye to the witchcraft is more like witches are a product of the devil type witchcraft and lore. um But Harry Potter brings in all kinds of different supernatural stuff. Yeah, it's like an entire magical world, whereas um Agatha Long is very much just a story about a witch coven, essentially, for now. And then so I'm sure it'll lead to larger Marvel stuff at the end, or it'll somehow tie into larger things. But it's, yeah, very much focused on that. And so and Harry Potter was meant to be the world of large magical world.
00:31:19
Speaker
was like very well part of the world ah with different schools and other countries having different laws about how they deal with magic and muggles. Very, very important. Right. That's the thing. Like it's a whole other society, like thriving society. I think that, thank you. I think that's what I've been trying to get at. um The Wizarding World is a whole other thriving, hidden society. But in the Marvel world, it's just like what it would be in our world there's just witches you know it's but it's not a society with its own ministry and its own government yeah i mean you have wizards and witches trying to figure out rules about dragons and how to like control them but like also not kill them so they create a whole dragon reserve where these dragons can basically live and prosper kind of just like how we do the same thing with buffaloes
00:32:17
Speaker
or bison or whatever they're called.

Elemental Witchcraft and Personal Connections

00:32:19
Speaker
I have a question for for um all of us. So in Agathol along, they have, which I love, air, water, earth and fire, witches. I did one thing that I didn't know about.
00:32:35
Speaker
and Do they have more? No, they just have those four, right? Just the four elements? According to the ballad, it's just the four. Which would make sense that it's the the elements, but I love that because I just love, well, maybe because I love Avatar. The last director, not the blue stuff. Yes. I don't watch that other movie.
00:32:56
Speaker
Which is copying the last airbender so it seems. Full offense, but I won't watch your movie. um Anyway, so the air, earth, water, and fire, I'm curious what, and then the way that they have broken it down so far in the show is divination is air, potions, water, garden, earth, and protection fire. So that that type of witchery. So you two, where do you feel like you would fit with within those categories? Oh, I always lean towards water element. No matter the fandom, I'm always the water element of the group. Interesting.
00:33:43
Speaker
i I was a swimmer for all of my life. And um I'm actually an earth sign. My zodiac is an earth sign. But i um I've just always been drawn to the water. I sort of not really jokingly say that I was a mermaid in a past life. So i you know when you know when Avatar, I'm like, yes, I'm part of the water nation. Yes, I am Katara.
00:34:13
Speaker
When the Hunger Games came out, I was the water district, the fishing district. That's interesting that you're an earth sign. and I know. What's your moon and your rising?
00:34:28
Speaker
I don't know. i have to I do know that, but I don't remember it as much as mine. I'm curious if like you're you're always seeking out water because you don't have any water as part of your signs or something. Oh, so interesting. I'll find out shortly. I do know it. James, while she's looking this up, where do you feel like you'll feel? Hello. I definitely fit in more, I think, with fire. But I just learned that each house represents one of the four classical elements.
00:34:57
Speaker
ah What's Hufflepuff? So fire is Gryffindor. Obviously. Earth is Hufflepuff. okay Well that makes sense. with but youre Okay, okay, okay. wait Wait, go ahead. Continue. Sorry. It is Ravenclaw and water is Slytherin.

Okay, I've always wanted to do an actual study or something and compare your Hogwarts house to your Zodiac. And I always, when I meet new people, I'm like, what's your Hogwarts house and what's your Zodiac? I've always been interested in um comparing the different Zodiacs and your personality types to what Hogwarts house you're in and seeing if any of the Zodiacs really line up. So now I know that the Hogwarts houses have signs. I'm very excited. Wait, okay. i know You're a Hufflepuff. You're a sign and I'm a Hufflepuff. Yeah. So you guys are Ravenclaws, which was water? Air. No. Air. Air. Okay. And what are your Zodiacs? I'm Sagittarius, so I'm fire, but my moon my moon is Aquarius though, which is air. So water. And that's like your- Oh, Aquarius is water. Aquarius is air.
00:36:12
Speaker
She's the water bearer. I swear it's air.
00:36:21
Speaker
Yeah, I don't know my moon. Just give us a little birth chart, James. We'll look it up for you. I'm just a Sagittarius. That's it. That's all I know. Wait, you're both Sagittariuses? Yeah, my birthday's in December. That's right. I kept thinking you were in June for some reason. I'm a bad co-host.
00:36:43
Speaker
Okay, interesting. So you're both Sagittarius, which is air. Fire. Fire. And you're both Ravenclaw. So that doesn't line up, but mine does. Ha ha ha.
00:36:54
Speaker
Well, air, I will say that air and ah air air and fire typically are like kind of go handin hand in hand a lot of the times. And so like whenever they talk about compatibility stuff. And so I'm fired fire and air for my for my big three. And I feel like that does that really matches like kind of my personality, but also my needs as far as like kind of oh aqueru is air.
00:37:22
Speaker
That is so confusing because she's the water bearer. Why wouldn't she be a water sign? Aquarius aqua. I have to do some more research on. okay Now we have to whole have a whole other common room chat on zodiac signs. so I guess each house also represents one of the four states of matter.
00:37:44
Speaker
with solid being Hufflepuff, liquid being Slytherin, gas being Ravenclaw, and plasma with being Gryffindor. yeah That would make sense. Interesting.
00:38:03
Speaker
Yes, this is all really interesting. Gas, air, and Ravenclaw. OK. honey My moon is in Scorpio, which is water.
00:38:15
Speaker
Oh, OK. Which is Slytherin rising. Oh, I do think my second house is Slytherin. Oh, my rising.
00:38:31
Speaker
But really but now we know I do have a water. Yeah. And you said that's your moon. Yes. but Like your core, like who you are internally is what that's supposed to mean.
00:38:45
Speaker
So what is your sun then, like your main one? Like I'm a Taurus. Yeah, it's kind of like you're, so like you're rising. I'm not like a big Zodiac person. This is like very minimal knowledge, but you're rising is supposed to be kind of, it's supposed to be like kind of your outwardly projected personality. So like what a lot of people kind of see you as. So mine is Leo, which makes sense. I think a lot of people who know me with like my,
00:39:14
Speaker
Bold energy that I have I feel like a lot of people wouldn't be surprised to have that be a part of one of my big three and then um Your moon is like your you're kind of like your deep internal feelings. That's not really necessarily outwardly expressed and then your your son, which is your main zodiac sign is like you're just kind of like a combination of everything just kind of like Who you are, it's supposed to be your, um I don't know, I'm not describing it very well, but it's supposed to be kind of like your, yeah. down It's more like internal, external, and then the zodiac, I guess, it's like kind of in in the middle of all of that, I guess, is a way that you could boil it down. And then somebody, we should have like a real like zodiac witch come on the show and talk with us about all of this and analyze us. Maybe we won't tell them what we are and then they'll have to guess by talking to us. Ooh, that'd be fun.
00:40:07
Speaker
and I don't know how I feel about that one. We had a fun experiment. What did I say my moon was? or go Thank you. All right. Um, I feel like for the, for the, going back to Agatha. Yeah. Well, hold on. So let's compare the four different, I mean, I know we, we talked about our Hogwarts houses a little bit and how they represent some of those elements, but the classes, we have an earth class that's herbology.
00:40:39
Speaker
We have divination class, which is your air. We have potions class, which is your water class. And I would say our protection or our fire is defense against the dark arts. Interesting. Yeah, I could see that. Yeah, I don't know what else it would that would be the closest. you know
00:41:06
Speaker
Well, it's interesting you say that because are very closely related. I mean, Professor Sprout is a herbology teacher and head of... And our common room is filled with plants and cats. And the Slytherin one you said was water, was potions?
00:41:32
Speaker
Yes. And that's the one that's by the Great Lake, too. So their common room looks like it's underwater. Water. Man, I really should have been a Slytherin. Water is water. So potions, water. And then the head of potions was Snape, who's the head of Slytherin house. And then you have. you have Ravenclaw.
00:41:55
Speaker
Air divination. So that's where the it breaks. But Ravenclaw is in the tower.
00:42:05
Speaker
There's three towers, Gryffindor tower, Ravenclaw tower. The knee tower. Ravenclaw is heir. Wow. There's fire.
00:42:16
Speaker
Theirs is just there. But they're also in the other tower. oh Gryffindor tower. And their head of house is transfiguration. But you like you said, it's probably like defense against the dark arts. But I don't know. Protection, defense against the dark arts.
00:42:36
Speaker
Well, Dumbledore was the head of Gryffindor, right? And he was the defense against the Dark Arts or was he also transfiguration? Dumbledore was divination? Right, transfiguration. Oh, I was like, what? We should do a what if episode on that. If Dumbledore and Professor Trelawney switched the positions at Hogwarts. Oh my gosh, can you imagine? Which was confusing because in the Crimes of Grindelwald, he's teaching defense against the Dark Arts.
00:43:05
Speaker
But it's really like apparent in his in his history that he was the transfiguration teacher before he became headmaster. So that that was one of the more confusing things with me about Crimes of Grindelwald when it came out with Dumbledore showing up, was just like, wait a second, this doesn't like this doesn't add up. But very confusing.
00:43:37
Speaker
Not to say that he was great at defense against the Dark Guards, but... I just want to bring it back around to the Zodiacs real quick. um My rising, I figured it out, is Cancer, which is also a water. So I do have two water signs. And I feel like that makes sense. Hufflepuff Slytherin. Yes, I always think my second. i don't I don't... I think I took the test a long time ago, but I do have some Slytherin tendencies.
00:44:07
Speaker
But I'm very, very much a Hufflepuff at heart. Yeah. I'm really a Ravenclaw.
00:44:19
Speaker
even though you get thrown into Gryffindor all the time. Well, i I choose to be in Gryffindor because, James, I feel like you are Ravenclaw through and through, and I'm like Ravenclaw, but then sometimes I get sorted into Hufflepuff, and I'm more like, whatever happens, let's... I'll be whatever I need to be um Okay, so I Don't know what I would fit in. I like all of these a lot I feel I'm always drawn to air like when I watched Avatar the last airbender I 10,000% wanted to be an airbender
00:44:55
Speaker
Um, but I also really like water. I've always been really drawn to water and like the ocean, especially like bodies of water. Um, and so I do feel like I am drawn to that, but maybe that's because I have two fire signs in me and I need to cool it down a little bit. off yeah But I also really like the earth and I really like animals everywhere. I can be whatever.
00:45:19
Speaker
um I didn't think it'd be half a Hufflepuff then. I know, I know. See, this is my dilemma. Well, Hufflepuff is my second one, so I guess that makes

sense. um All right, any anything else that we have about any of these? um James, what did you say your sign was? I would totally, well, I'm Sagittarius. No, I mean, what would what would you pick? What element would you pick? Element? Yeah, definitely fire for some reason.
00:45:44
Speaker
speaks to you. The urge to just consume. not so Well, consume knowledge.
00:45:54
Speaker
No, but like i i don I've always associated with fire for the longest time. So it's the idea of it seems to just intrigue me all the time.
00:46:05
Speaker
Not just for its destructive qualities, I promise. we believe your question in this yeah question um Who is your favorite character on Agatha? And let's see if it aligns with our I'm not sure if I've picked up on yeah everything yet. okay I mean I like Aubrey Plaza a lot as does everybody else and I really like that Sashir Zameta is on it because i I watched her when she started on ah SNL and then she has a podcast.
00:46:40
Speaker
um called Best Friends. Shout out to Ear Wolf and those podcasts. And so I'm like so happy for her that this is huge. Like getting into a Marvel show is huge. So I'm really happy for her that she's getting that. But I don't have a favorite character yet because I feel like I haven't had

Closing Remarks and Social Media

00:46:58
Speaker
enough time with them. I would say Agatha is the one that I know the most. And I really like her because Casper Khan does a fantastic job. So OK, she's my favorite for now. But that's to be determined. Who's your favorite?
00:47:08
Speaker
and I like, i'm well, I'm very drawn to Alice, so I'm very excited to see her story get fleshed out more. ah But she is the fire witch, so it does not align with my element here. I'm very interested to see a little bit more from all of them, because like just the left episode kind of like gave us a sneak peek and into their pasts, and that was very interesting. So I'm kind of just like interested to see how it goes down even more.
00:47:39
Speaker
I really thought it was like interesting to see Agatha kind of like be vulnerable for a little bit and like open up to whats what's the Water Witch's name? Jane? Maybe, right?
00:47:58
Speaker
ah Jen. Jen? Yeah. I think it's Jen. Starts with a J. To open up a Jen and be like, I left you because I knew like you like the work you would do would be great. and like That whole like little bonding scene that they had right before they were about to die. um That was like kind of pretty cool. So I want a little bit more of that and see how that kind of works out. But we'll see. We'll see.
00:48:22
Speaker
too early to tell. Okay, that's fair. Anything else that any of us have about this? Anything that anybody has about anything? I guess I don't really have much more to say. we We already discussed the, I wanted to talk about the elements of Agatha, that witchery, and then just that comparison, which we kind of already talked about. So does anybody have anything else that they want to bring up while we're here?
00:48:49
