We all live very different lives that is a given but do you ever ask yourself why you do the things you do? Why do you make the choices you make? What is your purpose? I believe when you have a why in the things you do you will be more mindful about the small little choices you make on a daily basis. After you listen to this episode ask yourself what is your why?

Finding Your Personal 'Why'

00:00:00
Speaker
Yo, welcome back again to another episode. What are we going to talk about today, Adam? Well, I want to ask you guys, what is your why? Why do you do the things that you do every single day? The choices that you make? Why do you hang up with the people that you hang around with? Um, like just why? What is your why in life?

Crafting a Positive Morning Routine

00:00:27
Speaker
And the reason why I'm asking this is because my why is to really just feel good. That's it. Like all the things that I do in my life, I just wanna feel good because I know what it's like to not feel good. And I know what it's like to be sad. And I know what it's like to have anxiety.
00:00:55
Speaker
I know what it's like to just not even feel anything at all. And I remember there was like, I'm not trying to get down on you guys right now, but I remember there was like a month where I didn't feel anything. And I didn't even know why it was happening. I didn't feel nothing. I didn't feel like I didn't want it to laugh. I didn't feel like I wanted to smile.
00:01:21
Speaker
And man, like those are some shitty fucking times, man. I don't want to go back to that shit. I'm going to go back to that life. Who the fuck wants that? Who wants to be around those type of people? Nobody, nobody. So my why right now is to just feel good. And the vibe that I've been on lately,
00:01:45
Speaker
and the motivation that I got and the energy that I got and how I'm feeling, honestly guys, honestly, it feels fucking great. So, I do everything that I do right now just to honestly just feel good. Be happy, be peaceful, have a good energy about me. I wanna have that energy when you go around people that like,
00:02:14
Speaker
You make them feel good. You make them smile like that. That's the type of person that I want to be. You know what I mean? So what, like all the things that I do, what does that look like? Now I wake up every morning, you know, I got a morning routine. I'm sure everybody got their own morning routine, but like you need to find a morning, a morning routine that's going to set up your day proper, make you feel great. You know,
00:02:44
Speaker
Maybe you got to wake up an extra half hour earlier to do these things. But like, just go to bed a half hour earlier. You know, everybody says I don't have time to do it. Bullshit. If you start your morning out fucking right.
00:03:00
Speaker
And you do these things that's gonna make you feel good and set your day up right. I bet your whole day, your whole day is gonna be that much better. I'm willing to bet. I'm fucking willing to bet if one of you guys woke up a half hour earlier and did everything that I do in my mornings, I bet you will feel
00:03:26
Speaker
100 times better in whatever you're doing in your day, whether that's going to work or having a day off or whatever it is, right?

Energy and Environment: Who You Surround Yourself With

00:03:33
Speaker
It's like I wake up every morning, right? I jump into sauna for actually before I jump into sauna. I have like a half-squeezed lemon with some creatine and a glass of water. Get that hydration in your first thing in the morning. Then I jump into sauna. I get in the sauna for about 10, 15 minutes. And then I meditate while I'm in the sauna. And then as soon as I get out of the sauna,
00:03:55
Speaker
I jump into the cold plunge. And you know, I don't want to jump into the cold plunge first thing in the morning. It fucking sucks, right? But I overcome that thing in my head. I get into the cold plunge, and then I get out of the cold plunge, and guess what? I feel fucking great. Put my clothes on, I dry off, and then I have a mushroom coffee.
00:04:14
Speaker
I also take a micro dose as soon as I wake up. I forgot to add that. Um, but like when I, when I do this every single morning, it just makes me feel fucking fantastic. And that's why I do, I do those things because it makes me feel good. And you know, the Sana and the cold plunge, it helps with recovery as well.
00:04:39
Speaker
Like that, that's, that's why I do the things that I do. Like I work out a lot. I run a lot. I run almost every single day. Well, I am running every single day lately. Um, I play a lot of basketball. So like, that's why I do the cold water and the sauna. It helps with recovery. That's why I take the creatine helps with recovery. Like every choice that I'm making, it's, it's, it's, it's like a, a good, healthy choice. Cause I know it's going to bring something positive to my life. You know what I mean? So like that is my why.
00:05:07
Speaker
And I know that if I continue to do these things every single morning, I'm going to continue to wake up and I'm going to have a good fucking day every single day. Boom. How about that? Now, if I look back on my life, when I was feeling those type of ways, when I was sad and I did have anxiety and I wasn't feeling anything and I wasn't a joy to be around.
00:05:35
Speaker
Adam, were you were you doing these things every morning? No, I wasn't. I wasn't doing any of those fucking things. Right? So like, consistency is key. That's what they say, right? Well, I'm fucking telling you consistency. Consistency is key with everything. That's like intermittent fasting, right? I used to do intermittent fast, but then I like the couple to sometimes throughout the week, I wouldn't do it.
00:06:03
Speaker
And then I was just kind of like, do it here, do it there, like not really consistent with it. Never really seen much difference. And now I'm super consistent with it.
00:06:13
Speaker
Man, I'm looking shredded right now. I can see a difference in my body. I can feel a difference in my body. I don't wake up super hungry. That works for me. You have to find out what works for you. I'm not telling you to go out and do the exact same things that I'm doing.
00:06:35
Speaker
You know, it just might not work for you. Maybe a different diet works for you, but you have to experiment, right?

Experimentation and Consistency in Habits

00:06:42
Speaker
You have to experiment with things in your life that makes you feel fucking good. And I know that we have all been there before, right? You've been just think about
00:06:56
Speaker
A time in your life when you were feeling really good, you were really happy. You were just a bird. You were just a bird soaring through the fucking mountains, not a care in the world. Your mental health was great. You were so happy. Everything in life was just amazing. You had the best friends and you were just having the time of your freaking life, right? We've all been there, but like we've also got away from that.
00:07:27
Speaker
We've also got away from being that bird in the mountains. And that's not a good, like when we get, when we shy away from like who we truly are, it's not fun. Like I don't like being sad. And I know you don't like being sad. I bet you don't like waking up, having this like fear and having this anxiety and just these like, these bad feelings. Nobody wants to have that shit, man.
00:07:58
Speaker
So that is my why. So ask yourself, are you making the best choices? Do you have a nice morning routine? Are you taking care of your mind?
00:08:10
Speaker
Also, like who are you surrounding yourself with? I bet you we have all met somebody or maybe we have a friend that we call. And when we get off the call, we're feeling good. Like that person makes us feel good. But I bet that there's other people in your life
00:08:29
Speaker
I don't know, maybe it's coworker friend or so many family like, they're just gonna suck the energy out of you. And they're very negative. And you don't leave them feeling very good. And fuck that shit. Fuck those people, man. I don't like that at all. Like, just start thinking about who you are surrounding yourself with. Like, I love, I love when I'm around people. That just makes me feel fucking good.
00:08:59
Speaker
The guy I just had on my podcast, Rich, you know, every time I, I work out with him, he pushes me. Like I, I know that I work out hard, but when I go work out with him, I'm like, Oh shit. Like we're going crazy today. You know what I mean? It's, it's, it's good to have those type of people in your life that like pushes you. You know what I mean? And now to run that topic, I want, I want to, I want to talk about like,
00:09:27
Speaker
We all do things that we think that are, that are good, right?

Comfort Zones and Continuous Goal Setting

00:09:31
Speaker
But like sometimes, for example, you might have a workout routine and you might think that like, you know, you're, you're, you're going hard and then you're pushing yourself. But like, you're not really seeing much results, right? But you think that you're working really hard, right?
00:09:47
Speaker
Are you really, are you really though? Like could you be doing something differently? Could you be maybe doing one more rep, two more reps? Maybe, maybe you go up to weight like 10, 15 pounds, a little more. What I'm saying is like we, we get, we often just get comfortable and we get comfortable in our life and we think that we're doing everything right. But like, man, you could always be doing more.
00:10:12
Speaker
You could always be doing more. You could be pushing yourself a little more. You could be challenge yourself a little more, like setting little goals. Like I'm always challenging myself. And I love that when there's something in front of me, because it just gives me something to look forward to and it gives me something to work towards.
00:10:33
Speaker
Now that could be anything, right? Like it could be, maybe you have a, you want to paint a fucking picture of something. Whatever that looks like for you. Well, like having that something that that's in front of you, having that something that you're working towards or you're working on. I find that that also keeps your mental health at a really good place. You know what I mean? Um, when you don't have anything going on in your life,
00:11:00
Speaker
I actually don't even know what that even fucking feels like. Actually, yes, I do. When I was not feeling anything, I never had nothing going on. But it's like, I can only imagine that when you have nothing going on in your life, nothing you're working towards, nothing that you're looking forward to, that's gotta be hard on your mind, man. So I personally feel,
00:11:26
Speaker
that when you are challenging yourself, when you are putting yourself in like difficult situations, when you're trying new things, when you're just putting yourself in discomfort, like fricking cold plunging, like all of those, all of these things, it just builds a strong, healthy, happy mind.
00:11:48
Speaker
And that's why I do the things that I do. That's why I cold plunge. That's why I micro dose. That's why I go for runs when I don't want to. I'm always like, I don't know how many times, or I will like almost convince myself to not go do that workout and not go do that run and knock it into cold plunge. And I always overcome it. And I, and I, and I overcome that in my mind. Like for example, the other night,
00:12:18
Speaker
I was like so tired. Didn't want to go for the run. Didn't want to do it, but I went and did it. And then 10 minutes into the run, man, I'm feeling good. I'm feeling great. I'm running down the road. Like everything's just great. You know what I mean? This beautiful night out at the tunes and it's just when we like, when we take our foot off of the gas and we let that voice win in our head, we start to get,
00:12:45
Speaker
a little lazy, a little lazy, we start to get a little comfortable, we stop pushing ourself, maybe we started eating a little bit shittier, like, ah, fuck it, I'm not cooking, then I end up getting Mary Browns. And then when we keep going on that trajectory, and we keep, you know, going down that fucking laziness and like comfortable fucking life, and we just stopped like, doing all those things that was like,
00:13:13
Speaker
making us feel good. That's when things slowly start to get shittier and shittier. And then you're comfortable and lazy and you're not working out. And you're not cold plunging, you're not doing all these things. And then like, it's like your mental health slowly starts to get a little bit shittier. That's what happens for me anyways. I don't know. I don't know. Like
00:13:35
Speaker
Maybe that's just me, but that's what happens to me. So I'm just on this path of life now where I'm feeling freaking great. I'm feeling good. And I'm going to continue doing this morning routine because I know how important it is.
00:13:53
Speaker
to have a fresh, happy mind because when you are at this point, your energy is high. Everything else is better. Your work is better. You attract better people. It's just, you just have this fucking like thing about you, right? And everything just seems to work out when you're, when you're on this fucking, this, this type of energy, right? But when you're just not mentally there and no one wants to be around that,
00:14:22
Speaker
You're not fun. You don't have fun. Everything seems to just like things that would normally be fun just is now shit. Right. So. That's my why.

Overcoming Mental Barriers

00:14:36
Speaker
I just want to talk about this because I just want I like I just want to ask you guys what is what is your why? You know, could you be doing like a little bit more? Could you be doing a little bit more to make yourself a little bit more happier?
00:14:52
Speaker
Like maybe that's just going for a walk. I don't know. Maybe that's just hanging out with your mom a little more. Maybe that's just hanging out with that friend that just, you know, fills up your cup. Maybe that's just doing that one thing that you love, but you just don't do it. You know, cause we're just too busy or you're just too busy doing these things. You know, maybe there's like a goal. Maybe there's something that you've been wanting to do, but
00:15:22
Speaker
you're just overthinking. And you're just you're talking yourself out of it. And then like, I got to bring that up, man, because I know I posted about this the other day. But, you know, I've been wanting to run a boot camp for years, and I just never done it. And I was always in my head about it. And I was like, God, I don't know, it's probably not gonna work out. I just would like talk myself into doing it. Right. And, you know, Platinum Fitness, they they they were like, you should do it. Like you have the energy value, like
00:15:51
Speaker
It'd be a lot of fun. I'm like, yeah, it would be. So I said yes. But still, I was in my head about it. Still, I was overthinking about it. Still, I didn't want to do it. I remember the Saturday I woke up, I was like, man, I don't even want to go. I remember brushing my teeth. I was like, I don't even want to go.
00:16:10
Speaker
And then I got there and then everything was fine. It was chill. I had fun. The music was on. We did the workout. It was great. The people that were there had fun. I just know that when your mental health is not good, you're just going to overthink more.
00:16:34
Speaker
Your anxiety is going to be worse. You're just going to talk yourself out of doing things that you want to do. And like, you're just going to miss out on a lot of opportunities that you could be doing. You're missing out on a lot of opportunities, man. So like really work on your mind, really work on your health, really work on you and just getting you feeling fucking great.

Living Fully and Daily Self-Improvement

00:17:03
Speaker
And just do it for yourself. Don't do it for anybody else. Do it for you. You owe yourself this. Trust me. You owe it to yourself to feel the best that you've ever fucking felt. You owe it to yourself to be in control of your mind. You owe it to yourself to get yourself to a place where you're gonna do those things that you wanna do and you're not gonna talk yourself out of doing it. You're gonna step out of your comfort zone.
00:17:34
Speaker
When you continue to keep pushing yourself, when you continue to just put yourself in discomfort and you get your mind to that place, you're gonna start saying yes to more things. More opportunities are gonna start coming to you. You're gonna start doing things that are going to make you feel good and make you feel fucking happy and you're gonna have a really great fucking life. And I want that for you. We all deserve that.
00:18:03
Speaker
This life is very short. So like, do you want to spend your whole life, you know, overthinking things, worrying about things? How much time and energy are you spending in the run of a day?
00:18:19
Speaker
worrying about things or overthinking things or feeling sad or having anxiety or being depressed or not being happy in your relationship or not having the best friends or not there being in a job that you don't like. How much time and energy are you fucking putting into that shit? Wouldn't you rather spend the little time you have on this world being happy
00:18:48
Speaker
and doing something waking up every day and doing something that you enjoy and having the best friends and having the best relationship and everything is just great and everything is fun and you're just you're just you're just your best fucking self because that's what I want and that's what I'm going to continue working towards because
00:19:13
Speaker
That's my why. I just want to be happy. I want to enjoy this time on earth that we have because we're not promised tomorrow. Anything could happen at any time, you know, anything. And we see this freak accident has happened. People get cancer. People die. People get car accidents like
00:19:35
Speaker
There could be anything. And we always say, oh, well, yeah, it happens. But like, not, not to me, right? Like, if it can, right. So you deserve it. You fucking deserve it, man. Start making better choices to make yourself feel great. Okay. I care about you guys. I love you. Thank you for listening. I appreciate you. Appreciate you guys listening to my podcast. I really do.
00:20:06
Speaker
And I'm sticking to my word, you know, I said, I wanted to be more consistent with this. I wanted to get back into a weekly routine of doing podcasts and stuff. Um, I do want to get more guests on, um, because I, because I know that someone's going to listen to this podcast, even this one right now, someone's going to listen to this and be like, man, I probably could be doing more.
00:20:33
Speaker
I probably could be doing more with my life to make me a little bit happier. And you know what? I'm gonna start doing it. There might be one person, and if one person listens to this podcast and does that, fuck yeah. Let's fucking go.
00:20:51
Speaker
It only takes one, it only takes one person to change one person's life. And you know what? That person's going to change. And I bet that person is going to change someone else's life. And that's, that's, that's the fucking goal here, right? We're all just, we're all just spreading wealth, sharing our knowledge, you know, in hope that it's going to help somebody else, right? So.
00:21:15
Speaker
Hope you guys have a good day. Hope you guys have a good week and make the best of it because 2024 is right around the corner. And I know we're all going to have all these new year's resolutions, right? I say fuck the new year's resolutions, man. Just try to be better every single day. Work on yourself every single day. Try to get yourself 1% better every single day. And you know,
00:21:45
Speaker
Ask yourself, what is your why? And on that note, okay, peace, I'm out. Have a good one.
