Introduction to 'This or More' Podcast

00:00:00
Speaker
Welcome to This or More, a wild entrepreneurial podcast adventure for bold and brave creatives like you. I'm Tiffany Napper, your host, holistic business coach, corporate music industry dropout, a seasoned five-time multi-six figure entrepreneur, yoga instructor, and your go-to gal for heart-to-heart coffee chats.
00:00:21
Speaker
On this show, we're not just here to share stories. We're here to ignite a fire within you and make you realize that the reality you envision is just the tip of the iceberg. You're wildly capable of achieving that reality and so much more. So my friends, grab your cup of inspiration, settle in, and let's dive into another inspiring episode of This or More. Life changing. Just closed my biggest deal yet.
00:00:50
Speaker
I learned so much about myself this week. I am more ready than ever to get back to my routine, my team and my tribe. I cannot wait to share this energy with all of you. Thank you for facilitating this life changing trip and being the calming voices in my ear. Sharing my heart with other high achieving women with the exact same struggles and cheering each other on was such an unexpected gift.

The Power of Business Retreats

00:01:18
Speaker
Those aren't my words. They are the words of my previous retreat attendees. Women who said yes to Lux business retreats and were so blown away by the experience that they shared those sentiments I just shared with you on social media for the world to see.
00:01:36
Speaker
Each one of those women had an unrealized belief that was holding her back. And while on a retreat, that limiting belief was released and replaced with something much more nourishing and supportive. This is the power of a business retreat for women curated specifically for you, where you are right now at the level you're at, keeping in mind where you want to go.
00:02:00
Speaker
So my best gift I ever got was actually a gift I gave myself and it was the gift of a retreat. So I went on a retreat actually in Nashville, Tennessee. So it didn't have to travel very far with Julie Solomon. It was part of her mastermind experience in 2021, which I paid 15 grand to be a part of. I'll be open and transparent with you about that.
00:02:23
Speaker
And at the end of this retreat, two of the gals, who were also mastermind members, joined me at a giant whiteboard because my mind was spinning. I was having all these ideas and I just needed someone to bounce it off of. I'm sure you've been there before.
00:02:38
Speaker
And in five minutes or less, I scribbled some things on the whiteboard, they took the marker, they scribbled some things on the whiteboard, and very quickly they diagnosed for me where I was severely undercharging, what I should be charging, and the power of the transformation that I offer. They pumped me up,
00:02:59
Speaker
with some incredible confidence juice and gave me insight that would have taken me years to figure out on my own because they had already been there, done that. And I immediately walked away and booked a new dream client, I kid you not, within 24 hours at a new rate of, wait for it, $15,000. Coincidence? I think not.
00:03:25
Speaker
That was the best gift I ever gave to myself. But when I committed to that mastermind and that retreat, I didn't know what the ROI was going to be.

The Role of Hot Seat Coaching

00:03:35
Speaker
That wasn't really what was on my mind. What was on my mind was, I don't know what I don't know. And I want to be in a room surrounded by women who have been there, done that. Maybe there are a few steps ahead of me on this journey.
00:03:47
Speaker
Or maybe they've just tried something that I haven't tried yet and we can exchange our knowledge. But that's what I was investing in. Never did I ever think that I would immediately see that transactional ROI, penny for penny, dollar for dollar, 15K for 15K. That was the icing on the cake for me.
00:04:07
Speaker
Some other gifts that retreats gave me the first time I ever experienced what we call hot seat coaching, which is when you're all in this round circle together and everybody gets some time on the clock to share where they need support. And then everyone else in the audience gets to kind of chime in and give support if they have firsthand knowledge on that thing.
00:04:27
Speaker
That's called hot seat coaching. It was the first time I ever experienced it was at a retreat and now I facilitate hot seat coaching at all of my retreats and every single time when people fill out their little review survey, the hot seat coaching moment continues to be in the top three of the experiences for each one of the attendees. It's a game changer. If you've never done it, highly, highly, highly recommend. It's really, really fun to be a part of both when you're in the hot seat and when you're not.
00:04:55
Speaker
So that's all because I went on my first retreat. The first time I ever got to sit through like a three hour private dinner where I was surrounded by women who again were at my level or higher. And we were talking about Enneagrams and the thing that we want to bring into the world the next year and how we can support one another. That all happened for the first time for me at a retreat. And it opened my eyes to understanding that there are people out there who want to see you win.
00:05:21
Speaker
And that's a beautiful way to go through life. Once you uncover that, you can't unknow it. And it really does give you a superpower to walk into rooms and know that there are people out there who just want to help and want to see you win.

Investing in Personal Growth

00:05:35
Speaker
So if you're trying to reach your next milestone and become a thriving, abundant, up-leveled, soft CEO, you must invest at the level of your vision.
00:05:47
Speaker
We talk about putting yourself in the room, but are you putting yourself in a room filled with women who are where you are or where you want to be or higher? Are you investing at the level of your vision? If you're thinking you can keep doing the same thing and create different results, well, we already know that's the definition of insanity.
00:06:06
Speaker
And yet, how often do you make excuses to say, stay exactly where you are? How often do you make excuses and say, I can do it by myself. I've got this. I just have to hunker down. I just have to work a little harder. I just have to stay focused and motivated. I mean, do you have to stay focused and motivated? Absolutely. But is it the more expensive way trying to do everything by yourself? Absolutely.
00:06:36
Speaker
The truth is trying to do it all alone is more expensive than investing in that retreat. Trying to do it all alone is much more expensive than paying for someone to help you get 10 steps ahead. Consider the cost of taking six months or a year to learn something that you could have learned in five minutes with the right connection.
00:07:15
Speaker
Consider the cost of planning an offer or a launch at the wrong price point because you didn't have someone who had already been there done that showing you what was possible and advising you to raise your rates. That could have been me. I was going to go out into the world and charge $5,000 and instead I charged $15,000 and I got it.
00:07:26
Speaker
Consider the cost of trying to spread the word organically to an audience
00:07:36
Speaker
Consider the cost of spending the next year wishing you could just do something versus finally quieting the noise and your mind and going home focused and ready to do the thing right now. Imagine if you've been delaying launching that offer or that course or writing that book
00:07:57
Speaker
Imagine if after being in the room with women who have already been there, done that, you go home motivated and focused and start writing your book or start planning your course. Time is money. We know that. So if you haven't already made an investment in your personal and business development for 2024, I'm going to ask you why.
00:08:17
Speaker
What toxic dragon has entered the scene? I love to call our limiting beliefs toxic dragons if you haven't heard that before. So what toxic dragon has entered the scene to tell you you're not worthy? Or that you can't afford it right now? Or that you're not ready? Or that the timing isn't right?
00:08:35
Speaker
Because I call bullshit. And why are we listening to that toxic dragon? Why are we letting that toxic dragon be louder and have more authority than our own inner knowing? And why are you expecting to reach new milestones next year doing the same thing you did last year? Why do you think you can get there without support and community and accountability? Why do you think you have to do things the hard way? Why do you think you're not worthy?
00:09:02
Speaker
of this level of support. And here's a good one. Why don't you trust yourself? Why don't you know that if you invest in something that feels really dreamy and juicy and good for you, that you will make the most of it and it will be good. You will be glad.
00:09:23
Speaker
you will experience an ROI that you cannot even fathom right now. Now here's where it gets fun, okay? Investing in your personal and business development doesn't have to be a drag. It doesn't have to be another course that you sign up for and then feel bad about because you never finish it. Been there, done that. Nope, doesn't have to be that. In fact, investing in your personal and business development gets to be fun.
00:09:51
Speaker
When you say yes to working with that coach, it should feel exhilarating. And if it doesn't, let's find out what's going on there. The coach you choose, you should really be excited when you see their name pop up.
00:10:06
Speaker
Like yesterday, I got a voice memo from one of my clients and she was like, I'm just sending you a voice memo because I miss you. And I know we don't have another call for another two weeks and I just hope you're doing well. And it lit my heart on fire. That's what it should feel like. The person in your life that you choose to invest in or however you choose to invest in your personal and business development, it should feel like you just set your heart on fire.
00:10:31
Speaker
You can choose to grow and expand in a dreamy and tropical oasis surrounded by not only a supportive coach, but a slew of inspirational high achievers who only want to see you win. So imagine if the investment you make shows up on your calendar as Mexico retreat.
00:10:55
Speaker
Would that make you excited? Would that make you get out of bed differently in the morning? If you saw Mexico retreat on your calendar, would that make you excited about your personal and business development plans for 2024? I bet the answer is yes.
00:11:10
Speaker
And what would a new lease on life do for you in 2024? What would a new posse of supporters and high achievers and allies do for you in the next season of your business? And how would a full cup impact not just you, but your team, your customers, your clients, and your loved ones?
00:11:28
Speaker
Only you know the answer, but I know from personal experience, my own, and the ones I've witnessed from the retreats I've led, I know that a retreat is an excellent way to call all of that juicy goodness into your life and make it a reality.

What to Expect at Retreats

00:11:47
Speaker
Now, let me make something clear.
00:11:50
Speaker
Retreats are not just vacations. In fact, they are the opposite of that. You will do some serious work while you were there. It'll just look a lot different from your day to day work.
00:12:04
Speaker
A business retreat should facilitate business and mindset transformations. So yes, we'll be in a dreamy tropical oasis and yes, we'll have on bikinis and sarongs and big sunglasses and we'll be by the pool and we'll be looking at the ocean and heck, for the retreat that I have coming up, we're going to watch the whales because it's going to be whale watching season in Sayulita and March.
00:12:26
Speaker
but there will also be some serious work done. I like to say that you're going to have about five months of coaching scrunched and smooshed into five days when you come on a retreat with me. And let's look at Jamie, a previous retreat attendee, as an example of that.
00:12:44
Speaker
I remember when we were all sitting in this room together and it was hot seat coaching and it was Jamie's turn. She had the mic, so to speak. And I could see the aha moment happening. I literally could see the ease coming into her face as she started to have this epiphany. The topic was related to this bit of a beast she had built in her business. She was making a lot of money with the thing, but the thing was no longer bringing her joy. Maybe you can relate.
00:13:11
Speaker
And so we dove in and we uncovered a new path forward for her and some ideas that she had really never even considered. And from there we dove into discussions about how to better empower her team and develop some systems that would remove some stressors from her plate so that she could do some things that she really wanted to do, like finish her book.
00:13:33
Speaker
And at the end of it, she looked lighter. I could see the light coming back into her eyes. It was wild. And her DM to me secured what I was witnessing. She wrote me. As soon as she left that retreat, she boarded her flight. She sent me this DM.
00:13:49
Speaker
I quote, thank you so much for everything this weekend, Tiffany. It was truly life changing and an experience I will never forget. I can't wait to start implementing everything I said I would. It feels like a fresh new start. Emoji prayer hands.
00:14:07
Speaker
So clearly the work had some rewards, right? It wasn't just a vacation, but it was going to unleash something brand new in her world. And I'm sure I don't have to say it, but a refreshed mindset, like what we just witnessed from Jamie, can positively impact business decisions, right? When you're no longer feeling overwhelmed and like you're at a dead end,
00:14:34
Speaker
Epiphanies happen. Ideas are sparked. When we step back from the day-to-day hustle, we gain new perspectives and when we let others listen and provide feedback, we open brand new doors filled with opportunities we never saw coming.
00:14:53
Speaker
Caitlin had a similar experience and shared it best for herself on a recent episode. So tune into my episode on evolving with Caitlin Hart, if you haven't heard it already. But she talks about what happened at the Sayulita retreat. The new environment and the fresh perspectives truly fostered a mindset transformation for her.
00:15:13
Speaker
And again, I'm going to share her words because she can say it better than I can. This is word for word, a post she put up on Instagram the day we all departed Sayulita in 2023. So I quote, I went into this retreat for female entrepreneurs, expecting to grow a lot and find some answers. But I also had already decided before I left that I probably wouldn't be 100% honest with this group of strangers. Ha.
00:15:41
Speaker
Sharing my heart with other high achieving women with the exact same struggles and cheering each other on was such an unexpected gift. Just like this tank of freezing water, the photo is her in the cold plunge, there were times that it hurt and my nervous system struggled to regulate. But community heals so deeply and I learned that a healthy bit of discomfort is okay.
00:16:09
Speaker
Thank you for facilitating this life-changing trip and being the calming voice in my ear. And thank you, and then she tags all of the other women who went on this retreat, for being vulnerable, for sharing your struggles, and for your invaluable advice and encouragement. Heart emoji.
00:16:28
Speaker
So going on a retreat is not just a vacation. Will there be breathtaking views and a dreamy room and the most gorgeous, nourishing sit-down dinners and yoga and adventures? Yes! You know, you can even get a massage on the beach if you want. All of that will be there and I will facilitate
00:16:54
Speaker
some pretty powerful yoga sessions and journaling sessions and poolside business coaching sessions. And the conversations will be different and they will be deep and they will be life giving. So if you're considering going on a business retreat, you might be wondering, what do you ask to make sure it's right for you?
00:17:14
Speaker
So I've got a couple of questions. These are things I've asked myself before going on retreats and things that I just would suggest you ask yourself before booking a business retreat. Number one, does this retreat leader have real experience running a business aside from her coaching practice? Do I feel like I could learn something from them? That would be the very first question I would ask. Question number two,
00:17:42
Speaker
Will this retreat include a range of activities that I'm interested in or open to? So for example, if you love yoga or rock climbing or doing absolutely nothing by the pool, you might want to look for a retreat that will offer you a little bit of those things that you love and then maybe a little bit of something you don't typically do because when we try new things, we foster creativity and innovation in our minds and that is part of the transformation. So look for something
00:18:11
Speaker
That might be something you already love and then maybe something you don't typically do not a terrible idea Question number three. Do I like the location of this retreat? Not just the location but also do I like having my own bathroom on my own bedroom? And is that an option at this retreat? Is it gonna accommodate my dietary needs? those sort of questions you're gonna want to ask if you're looking into the retreat and
00:18:38
Speaker
And then question number four, do I like the type of people this retreat leader calls into their spaces? Do I think I could make some really great connections from attending this retreat above and beyond the personal transformation that I know I will experience because I'm in charge of that, right? But do I want to be in the room with these people? Do I see value there?
00:19:00
Speaker
Now, as you may have gathered, I have a retreat coming up, so I'm going to answer those four questions in case you're interested. Question number one was, does the retreat leader have real experience running a business and do I think I can learn something from them?

Upcoming Retreat in Sayulita, Mexico

00:19:15
Speaker
Well, I've led five six-figure and multi six-figure businesses. This coaching business is my fifth.
00:19:22
Speaker
Before that, PR and branding, a co-working space, a handbag line, a short-term Airbnb rental. I got a lot I can teach you, okay? Will this retreat include a range of activities that you're interested in? Well, here's what we do. I'm going to lead you through yoga every morning overlooking the ocean.
00:19:40
Speaker
We're going to participate in guided journaling sessions. There will be poolside coaching, cold plunching, sauna sessions if you're into all of that. And a few fun adventures that I don't want to give away just yet because I love surprises.
00:19:54
Speaker
But here's what I never do on my retreats. I never require you to work up at the crack of dawn. I always buffer in a little bit of downtime so that you can do your own thing. If you're an introvert and you need to recharge by yourself, I want you to be able to do that and not have FOMO, not feel like you're missing out on anything.
00:20:11
Speaker
And also, if you feel like you need to tend to some emails or call loved ones or just create some social media content while you're there, I want you to have time to do that. So you'll notice there's a little bit of white space in our retreat calendar. And then we eat all of our meals together because there's so much beauty in gathering around the table and I always make sure your dietary restrictions can be accommodated.
00:20:33
Speaker
Question number three was do you like the location of the retreat? My next retreat is in Sayulita, Mexico at a dreamy private resort that I found through a reverse Google image search and it is my dream retreat destination. There are private bungalows. Nobody shares a room with anyone. Nobody shares a bathroom. Filtered water in every room. Private restaurant for all of our meals and your morning lattes. Golf carts for your adventure into town. We do go shopping one day.
00:21:01
Speaker
All you have to do is book your flight to PVR and we pick you up and whisk you away from there and bring you to our dreamy little oasis by the sea. It is very Instagram worthy. If you know me, you know aesthetics matter. So it's beautiful. It's stunning. It's breathtaking. If you like luxury oasis, tropical oasis, then you're going to like what we've got coming up for you.
00:21:25
Speaker
in March of 2024. Now, question number four was, do I like the type of people this retreat leader calls into their spaces? Well, I can't answer that for you. All I can do is tell you what kind of people come into my spaces. And my tribe is epic. They're epic. I'm not going to deny it. I feel so incredibly grateful and lucky every single day when I look around at the women that I get to support.
00:21:51
Speaker
Their agency owners, their fashion designers, their bookkeepers, their interior designers, their writers, photographers, dreamers, visionaries. And I strongly believe that our energy is contagious and I'm proud of the work I've done to embody peace and love and resiliency and kindness.
00:22:08
Speaker
And I truly feel like it is reflected in the women who I call in and who say yes to the invitations. We do not allow mean girl vibes. We do not allow people who are filled with complaints.
00:22:21
Speaker
We only, only, only have room who believe and act as if this or more is in our future. So if that sounds like the type of women you'd wanna be around, if all of that sounded really dreamy to you, and if you're ready to usher in your next business and personal transformation, then you, my friend, are invited. You're exactly who I want with me in Sayulita this March, 2024.
00:22:50
Speaker
At the time of this recording, we have two deluxe bungalows left. The deluxe bungalows have a larger seating area. So if you know you want to have a little room to sit and work on your laptop or read or whatever you might want to do, the deluxe bungalow might be for you. It also has a bigger bathroom. It also has the best views on the entire property. You're in the center of the property and your balcony looks out at the ocean. It's breathtaking.
00:23:19
Speaker
We have a handful of regular bungalows left as well. Our regular bungalows are also dreamy. They're just a little bit smaller. And obviously you can't have the prime location on property because that's what the deluxe bungalows have. This retreat is all about personal growth, personal development, business growth, connection, creating unforgettable memories. And the groups are intimate on purpose. I limit it to 15 people so that I can fully serve each and every one of you.
00:23:49
Speaker
I cannot wait to spend quality personal time with each one of you at our luxury villa in Sayulita. The gals who have already said yes are starting to share their flight numbers in our private chat room. I would love nothing more than to see your name on that thread. If you want something different in 2024 than what you experienced in 2023, you're going to have to invest at the level of that vision.
00:24:15
Speaker
Head to the link in the show notes below to fill out a retreat application. As I mentioned already, spaces are limited and I cannot wait to welcome
00:24:24
Speaker
each of you to a week of serenity, self-discovery, and quite frankly, pure joy. My word has been fun. We are going to have some fun. We're going to have some transformations as well. There's probably gonna be a few tears shed as well, a ton of laughter and love, but honestly, most importantly, the thing that I want you to experience when you come on the Joyous Retreat is pure joy.
00:24:53
Speaker
Until next time, however you are feeling right now, whatever successes you are celebrating with your business, this or more is in your future. But you cannot do it alone and it gets to be fun. So I'll see you in Mexico.
