Other than being Molly’s 2nd favorite James Blake song, what does retrograde mean to us? Has anyone else felt like this Mercury retrograde has been particularly heinous? What other woes could possibly be on the horizon? As we enter the final week of the last Mercury retrograde of 2024, we’re taking stock of the ways in which Mercury has fucked with us.

(Please excuse the random sputtering at 15:54 - we might not be professionals but idk what the fuck I was doing. LOL)

Coffee & Tech Troubles

It's so cute! It is so cute! Molly special, dude. to It's cold brew from the fridge. Cold brew from the fridge! So extra strong. Fuck yeah. Yeah, it's just like this much coffee and a little bit of cream. No ice, nothing. Alright, let's hope this fucking shit works. Well, if you can't tell by now, we are sitting together in the same room. Yeehaw!
00:00:52
Speaker
he tis the day after thanksgiving and we are also balls deep in mercury retrograde yeah or rather but mercury retrograde is balls deep in us okay that's a nasty visual all right all right it's because it's fucking us yeah i know it's actively fucking it really is oh my god and it's just i've never
00:01:23
Speaker
Retrograde has never retrograded so hard in my working memory. Yeah, it would appear that way right now. Is it uncomfortable if I put it on top of yours? Do it. When it's too heavy and I can't take it anymore, I'll let you know. Okay, but I feel like I'm not even that high pressure on you. not Not too bad. Kill. Anyway, we're hanging out in my office. Yeah. Woo woo woo. And sharing a single mic, because I guess it just seems that like my microphone fucking sucks.
00:01:53
Speaker
So we're we're using the second microphone that I purchased for the exact purpose of both of us recording in the same room That Christina was gonna be using exclusively but now It was so weirdly unbalanced because like my microphone was barely picking me up like usual because it usually is that way if you've been listening You might have noticed my voice seems to be a lot quieter than Christina's and recording and I think it's just my mic But then The new mic that I recorded or that I ordered for k Christina to use was picking her up so high, like such a volume that it was actually getting like crunchy and distorted. And so I was like, okay, cool. I think that means we can use the new one and just keep it right in, you know, equidistant between us with the new mic arm hu that I got. It's so schmancy. It is schmancy, makes me feel profesh.
00:02:51
Speaker
But yeah, so yeah, retrograde is retrograding, dudes. Yeah. It seems like every single thing that we've been trying to do today regarding like phone calls and just various yeah internet things, keep fucking up and keep giving us our time. And yeah, so annoying. Very seriously, like what the actual fuck, right? What

Mercury Retrograde Woes

00:03:15
Speaker
the happening? I love your little cup. I do roll it back up where it's supposed to be. Oh, I thank you. They're so cute. It's like sewn. It's like sewn in.
00:03:26
Speaker
Oh, yeah. Right. I felt that. Yeah. And it's got, it's folded twice. So I figured, figured that out. and figure oh Yeah. They're so cute. I love that color too. I know. I like it. They're comfy. Yeah. But yeah. And even the like customer service people who were calling systems were like slow, constantly. Super slow. and I was like, I'm so sorry. It's never this slow. And I'm like, it's retro, right?
00:03:52
Speaker
oh Yeah. And it's like it's just resulted in, I'm just so tired. yeah i'm like i don't even It's like, okay. If you know us, which you know most of the people listening have heard already what's going on with me, but the big the big bad of this retrograde right now is my car decided to give up.
00:04:19
Speaker
It didn't, I don't think it's dead permanently. It's not dead. Yeah, it's not dead permanently, but it sure did give up right when I was trying to get Christina from the airport, so. It was like, nah. It was like, I don't wanna do this. I'm not, I'm not up for it tonight. And I was like, what are you talking about? You love Christina. We all love Christina. You don't wanna see Christina? You don't wanna see Grandma? Oh my God. Stop it. This is my car is my daughter or something. Oh my God.
00:04:50
Speaker
room But yeah, like, literally, I was just like, this is fucking retrograde. When it was happening, I was just like, this is fucking retrograde. this It never has happened. Yeah. my My car has been like, freakishly reliable, you know? So like, it's just what we think it is, is the alternator. and We don't need to get into the details. We think it's the alternator. Anyway, at this point, after, you know, hours of calling a hundred different places back and forth trying to figure out because I left it in a parking lot and was like nervous even though you know you'd hope that on off Thanksgiving holiday people won't try to tow stuff but like I was just like I can't check on my car I don't know I don't know if it's still gonna be there on Friday morning when I try to get a toad fortunately we did get a toad it is now
00:05:46
Speaker
safely a 15 minute walk from my house ah at the shop that was, well really we we found it through Googling and getting a recommendation from another shop. But like, yeah it sounds to me like it's a good reputable local place and it was busy as hell yeah while I was there. So I was like, cool, people like to bring their cars here, so that's a good sign yeah for sure. Yeah, made they must be reliable. Yeah, and so that for that reason, it may be a little bit before I get it back, but it's okay. Yeah. It's all right. I'd rather to have you know trustworthy people take care of it, and but yeah, we'll see. All will be well. Twill. But yeah, so we're without a car, and
00:06:34
Speaker
The original plan, as you may have also heard because we've mentioned it before, the original plan was to go into Boston <unk> tomorrow, ah go to some restaurants and see downtown because you really haven't been into Boston since my graduation. Oh yeah, I have.
00:06:51
Speaker
Have you? Oh yeah, you went you went with your family when y'all came. John and my child. Yeah, y'all. We went there ourselves. And I didn't because I was working, so I forgot the freedom trail walk thing. Right, yeah. I did that entire thing in my flip flops, which I don't know how I did it. But we were so damn tired and dehydrated by the end of that walk. Oh my God. And they had like some water on that you know the ship.
00:07:18
Speaker
Yeah, yeah. I don't know. I was going to say you did a tour on that ship, right? Or no? Yeah, we went on that ship. Do you remember which one it was? I want to say it was the independence, but I could be wrong. Was it Constitution? Constitution, that's it. Yeah, the USS Constitution. Yeah,

Sentimental Furniture & Comfort

00:07:31
Speaker
it's like the oldest warship of the original George Washington police. Oh, that one. That's right. Yeah, it's super old. It's from the 1700s or whatever. And it's still like... Well, was it on the water or was it like...
00:07:46
Speaker
So it's floating. It's floating. It's at a dock. Yeah, but it work up to it but is like water. it is that's why I think that they have done like multiple repairs and, ah you know, updating certain things to keep it seaworthy, essentially. yeah um But it is original. So like most of the wood that is on the outside of it is not original anymore. Right. But like the structure, the main structure of the ship yeah is yeah original. Yeah. So the the staff on that ship, yeah they had a cooler, like you know one of those ones that you would find at a football game for, you know, oh like that for the spout thing oh yeah yeah for the people that worked on the ship. oh But we were like dying. I mean, we were like, we water so bad. We just walked all the way from downtown Boston at the um the restaurant.
00:08:43
Speaker
Uh, union oyster house. yeah Yeah. Yeah. We walked from there all the way. there it Yeah. In the middle of August or end of August. Yeah. Which is like super hot. With no water with us. Yeah. Like it was terrible. So we were begging them. Like, can we please have a glass of water? Yeah. Oh my God.
00:09:04
Speaker
But yeah, you know what's really funny is because you know I'm not, I'm completely unfamiliar with the transit system around here. right Where I grew, where I've lived my most of my life, they don't have public transportation the way you guys do. right There are bus systems, but that's about it. We don't have subways, we don't have yeah like rail. The east is like unique for yeah like the major cities having good public transit. But like I had been around here often enough with you to figure out that the T means that's the public transportation system. It's around that and people can access and pay to get on. yeah And when we were leaving there, I was like, we cannot walk back the way we just came. right It's too much. yeah So we walked back up onto the land and I don't know, I looked a certain direction. I think we were trying to ask people where's the closest train station and whatnot. And people were like, oh, it's way blah, blah, blah, you know, or whatever. And it was like, oh I remember. i know where you going So I happened to look down one direction and I saw a T on something. And I was like, what is over there? And it was like ah a ferry. Yeah, it was a ferry ship. Yeah.
00:10:18
Speaker
I forget all the time that there, the tea has a fairy system. Yeah. Yeah. And I told John, I go, Oh my God, there's a tea on that. Let's go see what it is and what we have, we can get on it. Yeah. And like, it was like a fairy ship. Yeah. Cause you had gotten a day pass, right?
00:10:34
Speaker
like a Um, uh, I think you would, be yeah, I would have told you to because that's the yeah best way to do it because you can get on unlimited times to spread both the trains. Well, any part of the T system, which includes trains, buses, and boats. Yeah. So I, I felt like, I, I can't remember for sure if we paid anything extra, but you're saying that we probably did not. Yeah. It was a day pass. It wouldn't have been much.
00:11:01
Speaker
eight or nine bucks tops. Yeah. Yeah. If I don't remember if we paid extra to get on that little ferry or not, but I don't think we did. Because if you had a day pass, they would have accepted it. I cannot tell you how relieved I was. Yeah. I was just like, Oh my God, we can get on this thing and sit down. And it floated us back over to where like past the aquarium or whatever. Yeah. And there's a station, there's there's a literally a station called aquarium. That's probably where we got off. Yeah. That's on the blue line.
00:11:30
Speaker
um I love that line. I love the aquarium. It's a beautiful area. We didn't get to go in the aquarium that day either. Even just that area is beautiful because there's like the long wharf right there and there's the giant Marriott um that's like right on the harbor. One of my fond fondest memories ah of the time I spent in school was realizing that a friend from my hometown was in town at a wedding that was at that Marriott with her fiancee and it like all the rest of their family had left but they had one more night there and there the tab for the hotel was still open so they were like come hang out and we I went and hung out and we drank a ton of
00:12:17
Speaker
alcohol at the hotel bar on her family's tab. Oh my God. And then he goes because they had a hotel room, it was one with two double beds. so And obviously they only needed the one bed. So I just like stripped down and crashed in the other bed overnight. And so then I woke up the next day and there was like a like a Starbucks in the lobby at the hotel. And so she and I went down the next morning and got ourselves some Starbucks and then went and sat on the edge of the pier and drank. What year was this again? 2016. Oh my goodness. It was actually quite close to the end of my last semester. Okay. ah Before I came up for your graduation. It was after because it was during the summer semester. Oh, I forgot you had a semester to finish. Yeah. I forgot. So I graduated in May of 2016. Yeah. And then I did the summer semester because I only had like three more classes worth of credits to complete.
00:13:13
Speaker
And, uh, so it was toward the end of that semester. It was like middle end of that semester. Okay. Um, it was really fun. It was, it was just like, that sounds so fun though. Yeah, it was really nice honestly. But yeah, so it's a, it's a beautiful area. I have really fond memories of the, of the area, but I'm glad that you did find that and spotted it. Yes.
00:13:41
Speaker
hoooo lo la la Yeah, it's it's an unusual setup and we're trying to get ourselves situated. I mean, we are we are comfortable in general. Like, our asses are comfortable. It's our feet. We're sharing an ottoman. But yeah, I'm just in my office chair and she's in the armchair. And I got a nice Pendleton blanket wrapped around me. Fuck yes! Oh my god. I'm so glad we got those.
00:14:08
Speaker
oh my god i am tickly but yeah anywho point being i don't think you've been back into boston we haven't been into boston together since my graduation i think because we didn't go any time between my graduation when you went with your family i'm trying to think because we didn't we didn't because when the next time that you came out here you didn't come out at all in 2017 you came out in 2018 and we didn't go into the city and then We didn't go into the city in 2020. We didn't come here 2019. 2021 was when me and John... Yeah, so I think like there was no time during between 2016 and 2021 that you went into the city. Then I came out here for my birthday. And we didn't go into the city that time earlier. 2022? Right. We spent... We didn't go into the city that time. We went to Salem. We went to Salem, but we didn't go to Boston. Yeah. But yeah, but like you and I together have not been into the city since 2016. I guess not.
00:15:07
Speaker
yeah But anyway, so that was like our plan. We weren't even going to do a ton of stuff. Just go to so a restaurant that was recommended to me that I knew we would both love. And to go to, heck tea, the bar, which we also, what I love, and you definitely will, which we are still, will still go at some point, but we just probably won't be able to make it this weekend. right And ah like meandering for a hundred years, but original point that I was going to make is with retrograde being the way that it is,
00:15:38
Speaker
I'm too tired to even think about going to the city anyway, honestly. So, yeah. It's all good. You know, between what happened to your vehicle and then yesterday being, you know, I never cooked for Thanksgiving myself ever. I have not ever done it. I have made a dish to bring to a Thanksgiving. Mostly to the green bean casserole. Yes.
00:16:04
Speaker
and like That was like, I mean, it wasn't a horrible amount of work, but it was still work and it's still more work than I'm used to doing in the kitchen. Right. Way more than I'm used to doing in the kitchen. Right. Because it wasn't hard. Yeah. Because it's not like only a whole meal, but like a whole Thanksgiving meal. Yeah. Yeah. So that I think between your car, that, and then like,
00:16:26
Speaker
today just being a chill day. I'm just kind of like, okay. Yeah. See, that's what I was thinking. I'm a little tired. Yeah. Like you're feeling super hungry because like you've been using up a ton of energy. Yeah. And then like, yeah. like yeah My brain is just kind of like in off mode or something. Makes total sense. Makes total sense. Yeah.
00:16:47
Speaker
and But yeah. But i'm I'm happy. I'm comfortable and relaxed. I'm physically relaxed, which is nice. That's not normal. It's not common. Yeah. And see, that to me feels like such a good sign that when you get out here to be with me, that you feel that relaxed. That you don't have to be hyper-vigilant. Yeah. Makes me really happy. That's what I want. That's all that I want in life.
00:17:15
Speaker
is to be that space for people especially the people I love. That's what I got. That's who I am. It's nice to have somebody around me that wants to get up and help and do things for me once in a while because I'm usually doing everything for everybody else. Right. And not to mention you're like trapped in the prison chair.
00:17:35
Speaker
the Right now, you can't get out. I feel like I'm in a straitjacket the way I got this blanket wrapped around me. But that's all right. It's warm and soft and cozy. It's so cozy. Yeah, it's one of those like Scandinavian armchairs that's like super loungy.
00:17:51
Speaker
And so it's very difficult to get up out of. It's comfortable. It's so comfy, but it's it's it's it's my therapy chair. Right. Right. It's ah for for the listeners. This is the chair that I sat in ah for five years for therapy. And every time I would get into it, I would just like sigh and be like, I love this chair. And my therapist occasionally would be like, well, when I get new office furniture, I'll give you that.
00:18:20
Speaker
And I was like, okay, but then I didn't really believe her. And then a year after I stopped seeing her, I got a text from her being like, I'm getting new office furniture, do you still want the armchair? That's amazing. And I drove into Boston and picked it up, the armchair and the matching ottoman. And they've been with me about, that was five years ago. They've been with me ever since. It's amazing. Cause it's like a fucking, you'd pay like what, $2,000 for this set?
00:18:47
Speaker
in like a regular nice furniture store. I don't know for sure. It's like real leather and everything. Yeah. Yeah. It's one of those high end name brandy things. Yeah. So it's really nice, which I'm unfamiliar with. But I think it's like not Ikea. My husband would know it. It's like the similar shape as the Ikea chairs, but it's not Ikea. Does it have a name?
00:19:08
Speaker
The brand of here? Of this? I have no clue. Or the style or the something? I just know the Scandinavian. Okay, okay. That's all. I don't know. There's not like a specific name that I, like a brand name that I know of. But also like, you know, any furniture store brand can offer like this style of an armchair. Right. Of their own version of it, at least. um But yeah, like, I don't know what brand this is. I don't know where she originally got it.
00:19:33
Speaker
probably fucking got it in the 90s i don't know like it does it's it's not super worn but it is like old like you can tell it's not new um but like it's very loved and it's i don't know it's got good vibes because of the fact that it was my therapy chair for two for five years And how many other numerous clients? Yeah, exactly. It's a chair of healing. It is. I mean, it's like, it must have absorbed some good vibes. It has to have. It must have. It has to have. I mean, like, it's true. I will say it's absorbed good vibes and it's transmuted bad vibes. Yeah. And like trauma vibes, for sure. Man,

City vs Countryside Living: The Dream

00:20:14
Speaker
I'm really happy.
00:20:16
Speaker
it's so good yeah yay and i'm really glad that you finally got yourself an office chair because yeah this chair is great it kind of it matches it's like not the same it's a different i don't think it's real leather but it is it's uh like a caribou colored leather not black leather like the armchair it kind of matches your couch yeah and it matches the brown yeah it matches the wood sort of the arm armchair yeah yeah It's nice. It matches the wood tone of that bookshelf a little bit too. But yeah, it's super comfortable. I just walked into Staples and sat down in some of the chairs and then I realized this one's on clearance for $129, I think. And I was like, fuck yeah. They were like, it's only $20 to assemble. So I was like, cool. And I just waited 45 minutes for them to take care of that. And it was all set and they brought it home. And then you have me who buys $299
00:21:12
Speaker
office chairs off of Amazon and assembled both of them myself. Listen, i it's not even it's not even that I will pay for convenience, it's that I will pay so that I don't have to fight with executive functioning and lose time using the thing that I want to be able to use. yeah So like it's like, I'll pay the extra so that I can actually get used out of it, rather than bring it home and let it sit in the corner for you know half a year before I feel like putting it together.
00:21:40
Speaker
For me, I didn't have much of a choice because it was that or sitting in a metal folding chair. Well, yes, there's a lot of motivation there for that. But before I had this office chair, I was sitting on the ottoman of the armchair, which was certainly bad for my back. But it was comfortable enough and it had been working for me that I was not motivated enough. But literally, you did it for over a year, over a year since you moved here. I know. Yeah.
00:22:09
Speaker
Definitely. When I was working from home, you know living in my ex's place, I was sitting on the Ottoman chair as well, or on the Ottoman at my desk. In your room? In my room, yeah. Wow. Because no other chair that I had was comfortable. right like i had you know One of the dining room chairs was up there in my room, but like it was I couldn't sit on that for more than like two hours at a time without like wanting to die. But I could sit on this all day.
00:22:38
Speaker
ah You know, like like I said, it was not good for my back. There was no support. There's no back to the ottoman, obviously. It's not intended to be a chair. It's not. It's like a low and it's, you know, all the right things. but Although the nice thing about it is that it is wide enough that it's, you know, cushioning the whole butt, yeah you know. Yeah. It wasn't like a little tiny ottoman stool. Right. um But yeah, like, you know, that's a different story than having to sit on a metal folding chair.
00:23:08
Speaker
and That's a different different thing. Yeah, my sciatica was getting flared up. Right. See, if I didn't have this and the only option I had would have been the dining room chairs, I would have gotten an office chair a lot sooner than I did. the So yeah it's fine though.
00:23:21
Speaker
It's all good. Yeah, but I like this song to share a lot. We're a in the sky. Does that mean we're dying and going to heaven? No.
00:23:42
Speaker
Okay. It's a skyrise. you Right. It's like New York, you know, big city, you know, high, tall, like like just Trump Tower bullshit. Why Trump Tower? Why not Empire State Building? But there are apartments in Empire State Building. I have no idea. Are there apartments in Trump Tower? I think he has an apartment at the top of Trump Tower. Okay, but like apartments that get rented out. Maybe. I don't know.
00:24:09
Speaker
But I'm pretty sure there are living quarters in that building. Anyhow, I did not intend to bring him up and make it be a topic. yeah What's funny to me is the fact that like my immediate assumption was not skyscraper in the city. To a deluxe apartment. Because I'm so anti-city. I don't even think about that. so Have you ever seen The Jeffersons? No, I've never. Okay.
00:24:35
Speaker
yeah um They're an African-American family that all of a sudden I think maybe ah maybe all of a sudden come into money or something like that and that's why That's why this song is about we moving on up. It's like we're getting you know, our lifestyle is but getting better and better. Yeah Yeah No, I feel that I guess yeah No, if I I mean, I know I've talked to you about this if I come into money and I'm not buying a fucking, you know, penthouse or anything in the city. right I'm getting a house with on some land. Yeah. I wanted like a giantly oversized farmhouse or Victorian era house. Or Tudor Revival is like my top choice. And you get a lot of those options here in Massachusetts. I do love a Tudor Revival home. I love that style. yeah
00:25:33
Speaker
But like, yeah, but absolutely not in the city. So like, even, cause I was like, okay, if I had like enough money that I was like, I'm more like a house out in the sticks and then a house in the city. Like if I, if I really was like, I gotta spend, I gotta spend my money somewhere. I'd be buying one of the like $25 million dollars homes in Beacon Hill in Boston.
00:26:01
Speaker
but I don't know shit about Beacon Hill. so It's the quaint, pretty, like, cobblestone, street, narrow neighborhood. It's the old bougie neighborhood. I'll have to Google maps that and see. I know you said you don't like MASH, but do you know, do you remember the character um Charles Emerson Winchester? The fancy bougie boy guy from Boston? He sounds like he's got a British accent.
00:26:31
Speaker
Kind of. Kind of. I don't remember for sure. Okay. His family, he talks all the time about his family being from Beacon Hill. Okay. And like, it's like that kind of a vibe in a neighborhood. And yes, the homes, I've looked it up because I've looked it up specifically because of the homes are like, no, just, just to see what's, what they look like, what, you know, what the homes look like that are on the market. that um Yeah, they're in the 20 to 25 million dollar range. That's crazy. I know. But that's what I mean is like, if I if i just, you know, if I won the lotto and I had hundreds of millions laying around, you know, i'd make I'd buy one and I would buy one that has like a garage. Cool. Because then I don't have to park on the street. it At this point in my life, I would just be happy with the house that has more than one toilet. I feel that.
00:27:29
Speaker
I feel that. You understand. I understand. Cause like one house, one bathroom, ah one bathroom house with three people living in it isn't great. Yeah. Especially when two of those people are middle-aged adults that need the bathroom urgently sometimes and can't wait. We have competed for the toilet a couple of times and it's not fun. Yeah. I remember living, cause like originally living in Boston, like all the, well,
00:27:56
Speaker
most of the apartments I had only had one bathroom and then like living with my ex like well the apartment we got before he bought his house also only have a bathroom um but then when he got his house it was simply one and a quarter bathrooms yeah what one and a quarter one and a quarter the fucking truth let me tell you but but listen the quarter is the quarter that counts It's the quarter we got was the quarter that counts because it was the second toilet in a water closet. Yes. Yeah, it was. um Yeah, we literally a tiny closet less smaller than a walk-in closet. Yeah, with just a toilet. Yeah.
00:28:41
Speaker
And like, if you want to wash your hands, you have to go to the kitchen sink to wash your hands afterwards. But it's like, listen, it felt so fucking weird. I hated doing that because I'm like, I have to touch things to get out of this bathroom, you know? Yeah, and't I know. But like, absolutely, like, when you're in that moment of urgency, the second the second toilet just being there is like, it doesn't matter. Exactly. It doesn't matter. But yeah, like, water closets being what they are.
00:29:10
Speaker
Like I don't think, I was not comfortable shutting the door whenever I used that bathroom. It was too tight, it was too small. Like I don't, yeah i i I might have claustrophobia, but it was just like, cause it's not necessarily like I was cramped in. yeah I was being touched on both sides by the walls, but like it was just too small. So if I shut the door, I would just be like, yeah you know? So most of the time, and it ultimately it didn't matter because like when you live with your partner, aye most people seem to get into a comfortable rhythm of leaving the door open when they go to the bathroom. And so it was just very much like ah it's whatever, it doesn't matter. um So I don't know, but even still, one and a quarter bathrooms, which was like, you know, that still felt like a luxury. We can move on if

Rituals, Retrogrades & Astrological Advice

00:30:09
Speaker
you want. I don't care.
00:30:10
Speaker
It doesn't matter to me. I'm fine. I'm chilling. We're chilling. It's retrograde, baby. Mercury's in the microwave. Oh gosh. I can't wait for Mercury to come out of the microwave. We need to get Mercury out of the microwave.
00:30:30
Speaker
o Anywho, we are distracted. We knew this would happen. yeah yeah it's all good but yeah we've we've sure been having a bitch of a retrograde i don't really know what else there is to talk about with our retrogrades to be honest when did it even start the 25th or 26th i think i don't know one of those you know what else is coming up um december i don't know what well actually it would be on december 1st the new moon
00:31:02
Speaker
Oh, that's right. Since two days from right now. like oh What are we going to do for the new moon? We're making a new moon mac and cheese. What else are we going to do for the new moon? High priestess. Do we get a magic prosperity spell for sure because it's a cinnamon day, December 1st. So we're going to work that in for sure. but yeah like Because new moons are good for like drawing in things.
00:31:31
Speaker
it's like, it's a fresh start, it's a fresh slate. And then like, you know, the phase of the moon after is like growing, you know, toward the full moon. Yeah. So that's, that's the right time to be manifesting abundance. That's, that's powerful shit. Yeah, we gotta do a ritual. We will.
00:31:52
Speaker
We, I believe in us. We will do it. We can ritualize the mac and cheese as well. Yeah. That's what I was thinking is like, but I want to do like a spell ritual. Oh yeah. And that's, think that's the thing is that like, it's surprisingly easy to make magic effortless. You just have to be in the mindset of it. Right. And I know that that's like not easy for you necessarily. i But I'm getting better yeah at that. But I think that you being in this, like A, relaxed state, B, like mode of like you don't have to anticipate being anywhere or doing anything. like I'm not in planning mode. Right. Vigilant mode. Yeah. And by the time Sunday rolls around, you'll hopefully have gotten enough rest to not feel like you just got to collapse. um But yeah.
00:32:43
Speaker
it's like pretty easy to get yourself into that mode. yeah you know And so like if you allow me to lead that, like which includes like setting the on beyond, setting the space, which includes music, which includes incense, lighting, et cetera, et cetera, like I feel like I can achieve that pretty decently. Because that happened, I haven't talked about this on air and I'm not really going to get into it, but that happened on that day with the front that I did the whole day of ritual. Like it happened very naturally and that's not something that he naturally, like he's not a witch, right? Like he he is, but he isn't. But he trusts you. But he trusts me and we are that we are that much in tune with each other to the point that just doing it naturally myself, even if he wasn't actively and participating through, you know, the entirety of the day, he was actively participating during ritual but not, you know,
00:33:40
Speaker
in the morning or whatever. Like, it was just me setting the space, doing things, being intentional. And like, and that should be like doubly easy with two witches actively working. Yeah. Yeah. and And I can say the more that I've been learning about certain things lately, the easier I can see myself getting into the right mindset and the right headspace, like doing it and being present in it. Absolutely. So that's why I'm like, you lead the way. I can, I absolutely can follow suit with it. Yeah. Yeah. And the other thing that I was going to say about that, that one day, a ritual that like, what felt pretty remarkable to me is that because it was like a designated day, like, you know, start to finish of being in a ritual.
00:34:33
Speaker
Even the moments where we weren't actively in ritual felt magical and there was there was an elevation to everything we experienced. So like, you know, most prominent example being like, yes, we cooked together like for all meals.
00:34:49
Speaker
And everything we made, even though all our recipes we were doing were completely new recipes to us, everything we made was fucking phenomenal. Like I was like, this is not, there is something more to this than just that it's good recipes that we executed correctly. Yeah. You know? Yeah. And so like, that's what I mean when I say like the new moon mac and cheese, is if we have set up for ourselves that space of like intentionality and the energy, the vibration is the way that we want it.
00:35:20
Speaker
will follow the mac and cheese recipe to a T and it will taste better than the one the other time that I made it. you know I'm so confident that that's going to be the case. and We don't need to like triple or quadruple the recipe. No. i mean i i bought russ I bought the ingredients enough to double it because i that's my usual go-to, but I just wanted so much mac and cheese that one time. I want i was like, I want all the leftovers. so and wanted' I wanted like a week's worth of leftovers, which is why I tripled it and then it took three hours to cook the onions down, but you know, whatever. but It's so funny. Yeah, but no, it's gonna be good. Like it won't just be like a, we're gonna do a ritual in the evening type of thing. Like we just go about the day with that intentionality and it'll it'll achieve what we're what we're hoping for.
00:36:13
Speaker
And I mean, I don't know if you're up for it or not, but we can treat tomorrow as the beginning of all of it. Like we can start trying to pull in the energy. Yeah, tomorrow night. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Absolutely. We can. And we will. I'm going to wiggle in with some delight.
00:36:30
Speaker
o in ah but Yeah, no, with regards to like retrograde specifically, like I'm trying to think back to anytime that I've felt it this like potently, where I'm just sort of like, you know, i I have been beaten into submission by this point. I'm like, you know what, no, I'm just gonna lay low. I'm just gonna just, we're just not, we're not gonna do it. We're not gonna, we're not gonna.
00:36:58
Speaker
test this. And then we then we were trying to set up our setup for tonight. Yeah. And it's like, this isn't working. The microphone that like has worked in the past sound right would not connect it to my computer that it has connected to in the past.
00:37:13
Speaker
Like, but my original, like, my first microphone is being quieter than usual. Like, very weird switching between Google accounts that became impossible for some fucking reason. Like, I was like, what is happening? what But now that we've sorted this out, yeah we'll just be able to do this for every time we want to record for the weekend. yeah And this will be fine. Um, yah yah yah.
00:37:40
Speaker
Yeah, just fucking wild. I'm like because I know that like Mercury retrograde is like technology and communication like snafus Electronics. Yeah, but I've also noticed like the main times in which I have felt like retrograde Was impacting me and was really just on an emotional level were just like, I'm fucking crying. yeah I don't understand why. It's like, it's not about to be my period. Like, there's nothing actually going wrong in my life. Why do I just feel bad? You know, or like another time when I like I had a friend who was out of town. And like, I like didn't hear from him very specifically from the beginning of retrograde to the end of retrograde. I like never got a response from him.
00:38:28
Speaker
And then I pointed it out to him afterward. I was like, do you realize that like, because you can see like the text message dates and stuff, I was like, do you realize that the beginning of me not hearing back from you was the start of retrograde to the end of retrograde? And he's like, shit. He's not witchy either. He's witch adjacent, he likes to say. Okay. But you know, when I pointed that out, he was like, god damn it. Oh my god.
00:38:56
Speaker
it might really be a thing yeah no he's a believer but yeah so like that was like you know emotions and then like communication in that one instance but like never really had such a meltdown of technology on such a massive scale because it's not only my car it's not only the computers but like i said Like a lot of the customer service people we were calling, they were like, I'm so sorry. I don't know why the system is so slow today. And I was like, I know why. Like man, truly, it's truly balled deep in us right now. Yeah. We're distracted, but we're just hanging out. How how is, is there a possible way or spell or a thing that we can do to kind of counteract retrograde stuff?
00:39:47
Speaker
I think that the best thing we can hope for at this point is making a nice, generous offering to Mercury. All right. Do we lay on our backs with our pants down and like spread our legs and show our taint to Mercury? Oh my god. I don't think that's an offering that we'll please him, but OK.
00:40:11
Speaker
and Yeah, I don't know. I think it's just an offering and like doing like a Please be gentle with us. You've already been so hard on us. I don't know. I do have that friendship bracelet that our, our friend from the Marco group slash on Ohana's. It came. and No, and I have it coming in the mail. ah It won't have made any progress yesterday because it was Thanksgiving, but it's, I mean, I haven't checked the mail, so, but I don't think it would be in the mail by now. Anyway, there is that, but like, no, like just, I just say making an offering.
00:40:47
Speaker
Mercury, oh, I was going to say Mercury is my ruling planet, but it's not, it's Mars. I was thinking of, um well, ah Mercury is the ruling planet Virgo, which is my Sun sign. And so I'm just sort of like, hey, be nice to your Virgos. Yours is Venus, right? My ruling planet? The ruling planet of your Sun sign, and because your Sun sign is Libra. Yeah. I think it's Venus.
00:41:14
Speaker
But yeah, you're really implanted as the moon. The moon. But yeah, I'm just thinking of your sunshine. Maybe I should show the moon my taint. Clearly showing it your ass was not enough. Oh my god, I mooned the moon! Except for the moon! Except for on Sunday, it's gonna be a new moon, so it's turning, it's facing the opposite direction.
00:41:34
Speaker
wait do i It's looking away. Do I do a handstand and moon the moon when it's... Is it the opposite? Oh my god. Oh god. Oh god. No, Mercury gotta be nicer. You gotta get Mercury out of the microwave. No, like I said, let's figure out like a little offering. Okay. Yeah.
00:42:05
Speaker
We gotta figure out what, what would mercury like? Eggnog. I don't know. I have no idea. ah say Let's do, let's do a, a nog drink. Let's do one tonight. Yeah. Yeah. Then we can always put like a teeny little amount in the little shot glass and leave it sit on the counter or sit outside on this step. I put them on, I like to put my offerings on mirrors. Even for planets? Well, mercury is also a God.
00:42:31
Speaker
oh okay so that's who you're thinking of yeah mercury the planet is also mercury the god okay um okay but yeah we'll give him some nog on a mirror yeah i mean like when i made the offering to odin that one time i put it on the mirror it was the cranberry vodka anyway it's retrograde but yet once it over let's look it up mercury retrograde 2024 december 15th Yeah, we got a little while. It's a short one. No, it started November 25th. That's like but three weeks. Yeah, it's three weeks. Usually i it more like two months or something. No, never that long. No. Okay. No, because Mercury is closer to the sun than us though. it's So its retrogrades are shorter than okay most of the other planets. Yeah, so we got and we got just over two more weeks.
00:43:26
Speaker
But it's okay. Listen, i'm I'm saying I'm claiming this now. It's done what it needs to do. And I'm going to just like, that's it. It's done. Yeah. yeah i I'm right there with you. Yeah. Retrogrades are interesting. Mercury is just, I think it's the frequency. Uh, it's the frequency that it goes into retrograde. Cause it's like three times a year usually. That's like, that's what makes it the thing that everyone is like, it's mercury retrograde. Like. Mm-hmm.
00:43:59
Speaker
I would like to learn more about like what it means when other planets are in retrograde. Yeah, because I hear isn't Mars is going to be in it too or something. Yeah. mean I'm curious. Mars retrograde. 2024. Mars retrograde begins December 6th.
00:44:20
Speaker
There you go. And it ends February 23rd. Ooh, that's a couple months. Yeah. Cause that's, that's the one that's further away. Just, I think, I think Mercury, I think Mercury is the next closest from us and Mars is the next farthest from the sun. And I want to find out what does it, why can't I type? Mean.
00:44:49
Speaker
when Mars is in retrograde. Let's see. What will affect Mars retrograde? So this is I think it's saying because it's it's got groupings of fire signs, air signs, water signs, and earth signs, and how the Mars retrograde will affect each of them. So I'm going to just read all of them. This is cogma Cosmopolitan.com. I'm going to read all of them. This is how Mars retrograde will affect fire signs, Ares, Leo, and Sagittarius. Watch out for your temper and your learn and your leaning towards impulsivity. Think once, twice, and thrice before launching anything major, saying anything wild, or taking and taking on anything risky during this retrograde. Dial up the sports, gym time, physical exercise, and outlets. You need to let off steam positively, and I'm talking to you, Ares, safely.
00:45:48
Speaker
So this one is what retrograde? Mars. Okay, the one that's gonna start. Yeah, so I'm taking that with like, you need to let off steam safely. Taking that personally, being an Aries rising. Gotta let out energy. Air science, here you go. Libra. Air science, lee Gemini, Libra, and Aquarius. Your mind is usually twice as busy as anyone else's, so retrogrades can feel unsettling and weird, like you can't get going.
00:46:15
Speaker
Take time to make your key tasks as automated or as bite-sized as possible ah so they're easy to process. Bring in new stimulus, books, podcasts, shows, and events to keep you feeling engaged in the world. And don't bottle stuff up. Talk about how you're doing. So that's what you need to do. For water science in this Mars retrograde that's coming up, and that's what Cancer, Scorpio, and Pisces, don't be tempted to hunker down and hide away Nursing your fatigue or low mood. Don't feel like you're alone with how you're feeling. Come out and play, get outside, spend time in nature, buy a houseplant, and talk it to death. Join a club or activate a regular social commitment with a regular with a good friend. How about Tipsy Tuesday's Movie Club Games Night? That sounds fun. um Yeah. A.K.A.
00:47:09
Speaker
don't hole up, I guess is what it's saying. And then earth signs, and that's actually because the water signs, that's also applicable to you your moon rising. So both of those will apply to you. And the earth signs here for me again, Taurus, Virgo, and Capricorn. This might feel like a frustrating phase where your best laid plans don't go accordingly to the playbook. playbook Allow wiggle room for setbacks in your schedule.
00:47:39
Speaker
Be flexible, don't overthink or overdo it. Make sure you're getting good sleep and address it if not. Get a massage, get reflexology, get Reiki, anything to help you physically relieve tension and stress. And that's that's supposed to be starting in the Mars retrograde though? Yeah. Like that's the way that it should, or the way that earth signs can help themselves through Mars retrograde. Yeah. I like it.
00:48:08
Speaker
super fun frankly though i would rather deal with a mars retrograde than a mercury retrograde let's be real anyway we hope that this retrograde has been not so brutal on you doesn't kick you in the balls the way it's kicked us in the balls for real oh my god but uh yeah By the time this is released, the retrograde will be almost over, I think, because it'll be a couple weeks. But even still, it's an experience. That's for damn sure. We're having fun on this series where we get to hang out together and record. Yeah. We can't wait to see what's next. Wink, wink.
00:48:56
Speaker
Might be some holiday cheer coming your way. Fuck yes. Take care of yourselves. We love you guys. Get your rest. We're very grateful for you. who Don't let Mars retrograde kick you in the balls as well. Don't let the bed thugs bite. Don't let the bed thugs bite. Oh my god. Sorry, inside joke. Yeah.
