Today's reading will cover Daniel Chapter 3. Today we will read about Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego refusing to worship the fake god that King Nebuchadnezzar set up. The punishment for failing to do so was to be thrown into a fiery oven. We will read about the king giving the 3 friends a second chance to worship the idol, declaring that no god could save them from the fate of the oven and see the dedication to their faith in God as they told the king that God was indeed capable of saving them, but even if God chose not to they would not choose to worship the false idol. In our discussion for daily application we will talk about how NOTHING is impossible for our wonderful, all powerful God. Even the king of Babylon declared that no other god was capable of doing what The Most High God could do after he saw a fourth figure in the flames with the 3 friends, protecting them. May we all be encouraged to take EVERYTHING to our God, knowing that NOTHING is impossible for Him to do!

Hello, everybody. Today is July 9th, and you are here with Robin at In the Family Way Coaching. We are here for our daily Bible reading as we go through the Day by Day Kids Bible, written by Karen Henley.

Story of Faith: Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego

Today we have a very famous story to read. I'm sure most if not all of you are familiar with the story of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego being thrown into the fiery oven because they didn't want to worship King Nebuchadnezzar's false god.

Today, we are going to see that nothing is too hard for our wonderful God. Nothing. This was so exciting. And it's actually very complete in the details. I read the big version in my Bible, and i was surprised there was nothing missing.

This is not a cut short version today. This is the full story, and it is exciting. So we're going to go ahead and get right into it because I just cannot contain my excitement today.

This comes from Daniel chapter three today. Now, King Nebuchadnezzar made a gold idol in Babylon. It was 90 feet high and nine feet wide.

Ooh, that's huge. He set it up on wide flat land. Then he called the leaders together to make it their God. So they came and stood in front of the idol.

The speaker called. All people, nations, people who speak different languages. Here's the rule. You will hear the music.

Then you must bow down and worship the gold god. If you don't, you will be thrown into a big burning oven. So the flutes played and there were horns, flutes, zithers, harps, and all kinds of music.

And when the people heard it, they all bowed down. They worshiped that gold idol. Then some men who worshiped stars came up and they said bad things about the Jewish leaders.

They spoke to the king about it. May our king live forever, they said. You made a law. Everyone who hears the music must bow down and worship.

People who don't will be thrown into the burning oven. Some Jews are leaders here, but they are not doing what you said. It's Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego.

They don't follow your gods, and they are not worshipping the gold god that you set up. The king was very angry. He called for Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego.

He asked, "'Is this true? "'Don't you obey my gods? "'Don't you worship the gold god I set up?' "'Now you will hear music,' said the king, "'and then you must worship the gold god I made.

"'If you worship the god, everything will be all right.' And if you don't, I will throw you into the burning oven. Then what God can save you?

my page there King Nebuchadnezzar, said Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. We don't need to tell you that we are right. Our God can save us if he we are thrown into the burning oven.

Even if he doesn't save us, We won't obey your gods. You should know this. We won't worship the gold idol that you set up.

This made the king very angry. He stopped being nice to them. He gave an order to make the oven seven times hotter. He called for his strongest guards.

He told them to tie up Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. The three friends were wearing robes, pants, and hats. The guards tied them up, and the king wanted the guards to move fast.

So they threw the men into the burning oven. The fire was burning very hot. It even killed the guards.

Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego fell into the burning oven. All of a sudden, the king jumped up. He was surprised.

He turned to his helpers. Didn't we tie up three men? He asked. Didn't we throw three men into the fire? Yes, said the helpers.

Look, said the king. I see four men walking around in the fire. They aren't tied up, and three of them are the men we threw in,

And the other one looks like a son of the gods. Then the king went to the door of the oven and he called out, Shadrach, Meshach, Abednego, servants of the most high God, come out.

So Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego came out. All the leaders gathered around them. The fire had not hurt the three friends at all. Their hair wasn't burned even a little bit.

Their robes were not burned. They didn't even smell like smoke.

Praise the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, said the king. He sent his angel and he saved his servants. They trusted him.

They did not obey me. They even knew they might die for it. They worship no one but their God. So I will make a new rule.

Nobody will say anything bad about their God. People who do will be cut to pieces and their houses will become piles of sticks and stones.

And that's because no other God can save people like this. Then the king gave the three friends new jobs. And now they were even greater leaders in Babylon.

And that's the end of our reading today.

Wasn't that exciting? Oh my gosh, that was amazing. I have to underline something here if you're watching me on the video. I forgot to underline that earlier.

Wow. So as we talked about before we started, our daily application today is that nothing is too hard for our God. Nothing.

Not a single thing. Isn't that wonderful? There is nothing we can't take to him. There is nothing he can't do. They were thrown into that fire and it was so hot that even before they got to it, the guards were burned to death. They died.

That is incredible. As the king was threatening them, he said that it was actually quite nice to them. And in the big Bible version, it says, now, if you are ready, i will play the music.

And they so said that they would not do it. And he said to them, what God will save you? Nothing like that had ever been done before.

the king got to see that happen. And so once he saw that happen, he proclaimed, no other God can save people like this. That's because there is no other God.

That is our other daily application. There is no other God but our God. And as king babylon King of Babylon said, they were they were servants of the Most High God.

He's not just the Most High God. He is the only God. There is no queen of heaven. There is no Buddha that we should be worshiping. There is no Hindu gods that we should be worshiping.

We should not be worshiping the stars and gathering our horoscope. There is nothing that we should be looking to for our care, protection, provision. Nothing other than our God and nothing is too hard for him.

If he calls us to do something, we are on the winning side. God but sets into motion his plans and nothing will stop his plans. We've read over and over again that God says, I am God. I have said it. I will do it.

And he does. Everything God says he will do, he does. There may be times when he can... ah be requested to relent and have mercy, just like when Abraham asked for mercy for the city of Sodom. And while the whole city was not saved, but Lot and his family was saved.

And God gave them mercy and he saved them out of it. Time and time again, we see that God has every ability and does at times make the choice to protect his people who have faith in him and obey him.

So I just want us to be so encouraged today that if you are requiring safety provision, don't be afraid to ask God because nothing, nothing is too hard for our God.

I have prayed to God for help in at times for protection ah when we've had flooding and my house did not flood. And I've shared those stories of things that God provided so that he protected me.

And when we did have some floodings, it was so minimal, it was not to be a concern. And i am just so thankful for his provision over me and for other people.

So just wherever you are, I just ah would encourage you that if you are experiencing something that is very life threatening or scary, that you pray for God's provision, knowing that nothing is too hard for our wonderful God.

He is all powerful. He is the God most high. So I hope that you are encouraged today and feel like God has lit your light. And I would ask that you remember to click that light button so that we can draw attention to God.
