Innate Immune System and Inflammation

Speaker
Another factor that can dysregulate the immune system is inflammation caused by the innate immune system so when the innate immune system is overactive or dysregulated for any number of reasons it can cause complications in the body and this can lead to the to the adaptive immune system becoming

Speaker
overactivated, which over time can lead to prolonged illnesses, reactions to foods and other compounds that weren't a problem before, and even to autoimmunity.

Impact of Pollutants on Immunity

00:00:28
Speaker
So the question naturally arises, what causes the inflammation? And here is a quote from one study that says, environmental pollutants such as heavy metals, solvents and pesticides have been shown to dysregulate the immune system, potentially resulting in immune suppression

autoimmune conditions and or hypersensitivity states.

Role of Gut Microbiota in Immune Education

00:00:49
Speaker
Now, one way that this can happen is through gut infections and leaky gut. So what you need to understand is that the gut microbiota doesn't just regulate the immune system of the intestines, it can exert a great influence on the entire body. Through many complex mechanisms, they're both direct and indirect. So what actually happens is that the microbiota shapes the innate and the adaptive departments of the immune system.
00:01:14
Speaker
What that means is that the immune cells in the body are trained or educated in the

Consequences of Gut Dysbiosis and Infections

gut. So depending on what's going on in your child's gut, this may cause the microbiota to cause the immune system to produce either inflammatory or anti-inflammatory molecules. So then these molecules, they go to other places in the body, including the brain, and they can cause or reduce inflammation.
00:01:40
Speaker
So it all depends on what's going on in the gut. So if there is gut dysbiosis, infections, candida overgrowth, things like that, it's more likely that these molecules that will be created will be inflammatory in nature.

The Importance of Pathogen Testing with Practitioners

00:01:53
Speaker
So the key takeaway is when we have harmful bacteria running rampant and causing dysbiosis, it will lead to systemic effects that will most likely be inflammatory. Again, this underscores the importance of testing for pathogens and addressing them with the help of your practitioner, of course.
