Let all the Earth PRAISE THE LORD! Today's psalms are SO FULL OF JOY  that I burst out singing. I pray that every one of you hearing these  psalms today is so filled with God's joy that you also just burst out in  song for our holy God. Today we will complete the section of psalms  entitled Songs of Joy, and boy, do we go out with a BANG! Today we will  accidentally re-read Psalm 138, and read Psalm 139, Psalm 145, Psalm  148, and Psalm 150. Today we will be encouraged for everyone and  everything that has breath (and even things that don't!) to praise God!  We will be reminded and encouraged that there is nowhere or anything  that can separate us from God or His incredible, never-ending love for  us. We will be assured that God knew us from before we were even born  and that EVERYTHING He created is GOOD, including YOU!

Introduction and Purpose

00:00:02
Speaker
Hello, everybody. It is April 4th, and may you be filled with the joy of the Lord today as you are coming to hear the Bible. You are here with Robin at In the Family Way Coaching, and we're here for our daily Bible reading.
00:00:18
Speaker
I am so it filled with the joy of the Lord today. Lord has been working so much and I have been able to see amazing things going on and the transformation that he is working within me.
00:00:30
Speaker
And I am just so excited to be here with you today and to be reading these songs of joy in the Psalms today. We are going to be finishing that up today, but first let's do our introduction and say that we are reading through the entire Bible this year using the Day by Day Kids Bible, which has been written by Karen Henley.

Encouragement for New Listeners

00:00:52
Speaker
If you are just finding this event, please do not be discouraged by the fact that this says it is a kid's Bible. This is a beautiful version of the Bible. It is like a Reader's Digest condensed version of the Bible.
00:01:06
Speaker
And it gives us the big story, which is all about relationship with God from Genesis through Revelation. And we are seeing how every day God's word is applicable in our very own lives every day.
00:01:19
Speaker
And today will be no different. So if you are following along with your calendar to mark off your commitment, it's time to get that out and get that sticker ready or your pen ready. However you're marking off your days of commitment and your achievement, get that out because you're about to hear the Bible today.
00:01:39
Speaker
If you do not yet have your own copy of the calendar, I would like to encourage you to download a copy of the calendar from my site. Not because I get anything for it, because it is totally free, but that is there for you so that you can be encouraged and motivated to continue to hear the Bible every day this month and then the next month. And soon you'll have been here all year.
00:02:02
Speaker
And then we can say we have gone through the whole Bible this year.

Bible Versions and Accessibility

00:02:06
Speaker
This Bible version is very easy to understand, and it's important for us to understand the Bible, to not just say, oh sure, I've read it.
00:02:15
Speaker
Because every day there is something applicable, and it doesn't do us any good if we have no idea what we just read. And this Bible version written by Karen Henley helps us understand what we are reading.
00:02:28
Speaker
And there are many versions out there that make it easier to understand. We have NIV. We have NIRV for the kids. A lot of people enjoy their favorite New King James Version. And there is nothing wrong with our big Bibles.
00:02:40
Speaker
They are the complete story with all of the details. I especially always loved reading my NIV study Bible because I always loved reading the notes at the bottom of the Bible.
00:02:52
Speaker
but This version is great for just hearing it every day and knowing the big story, which is just a different type of a Bible study that we're doing this year. So thank you so much for joining me, whether you are finding me on your favorite podcasting app, such as Spotify or on Apple Music or Amazon Music, Pandora, iHeartRadio.com.
00:03:14
Speaker
Then there's the video versions on YouTube. We also have the audio on YouTube Music. However you like to listen, I bet you can find it there.
00:03:25
Speaker
God has helped me to get this out onto every avenue because I am so in love with the idea of spreading the word about reading God's word, even if you're listening to it every day.
00:03:37
Speaker
So thank you for joining me here today. And let's get going in these Psalms that are so full of joy today. I loved the Psalms today. oh my gosh, they were so happy.

Reading and Reflecting on Psalms

00:03:50
Speaker
we have been reading Psalms of joy about God's word and had the joy that reading God's word brings to us. Things like wisdom and understanding. And today we're just going to worship God.
00:04:02
Speaker
Today is just all about praising God for how awesome he is. He is awesome every day. and I am so excited. He's just filled me with so much joy today.
00:04:15
Speaker
So bear with me if you find them a little overwhelming. Or maybe it'll be contagious.
00:04:23
Speaker
The first one is Psalm 138, and it's been written by David, which, as we know, he wrote a lot of wonderful psalms. David was full of joy for the Lord, and I love his heart.
00:04:35
Speaker
We are told that David had a heart after God, and you can really see it.
00:04:43
Speaker
This is entitled, You Made Me Bold. To be bold is to be not afraid to say or do something.
00:04:54
Speaker
I will praise you, God, with all my heart. I will sing your praise. I will bow down toward your worship house. I praise you for your love.
00:05:05
Speaker
I praise you for keeping your promises. You made your name and your word to be the greatest. You answered me when I called.
00:05:18
Speaker
You made me bold and gave me a brave heart. I may have trouble, but you saved my life, God. You hold out your hand to stop my mighty and my angry enemies.
00:05:33
Speaker
God will do what he planned for me. Oh my gosh, that was yesterday's psalm. Oh well, we're almost done with it. God will do what he planned for me.
00:05:44
Speaker
God, your love lasts forever. That was Psalm 138, and we read that yesterday. Well, we get a bonus psalm today. That was worth repeating, wasn't it? I was so full of joy, I just started reading it the first thing.
00:05:59
Speaker
ah Today is Psalm 139, also written by David, and it's called In the Secret Place. God, you know me. You know when I sit up.
00:06:12
Speaker
You know when I sit down and when I get up. You know what I'm thinking. You know when I go out and when I lie down. You know all my ways.
00:06:24
Speaker
Even before I say a word, you know it all, God. You go behind me and in front of me. You put your hand on me.
00:06:36
Speaker
It's wonderful. but it's too much for me to understand. Where can I go to get away from your spirit? Where can I run to get away from you?
00:06:48
Speaker
I could go up into space, but you are there. i could make a bed in the deep places below, but you are there. i could fly on the morning's wings.
00:07:01
Speaker
I could land far beyond the sea, but even there, your hand will lead me. Your right hand will hold on to me.
00:07:14
Speaker
i might say, i know the darkness will hide me. But darkness is not dark for you. Darkness is like light to you. You made every part of me.
00:07:27
Speaker
You put me together inside my mother. i praise you because the way you made me wonderful. Everything you do is wonderful.
00:07:39
Speaker
I know that for sure. My body was not hidden from you. It was not hidden when you made me in the secret place.
00:07:49
Speaker
You planned all of my days. You saw my body before it had a shape. You planned all of my days and you wrote them in your book, even before I had lived one of them.
00:08:03
Speaker
What you think about is so important to me, God. I can't count all the things you think. If I could, they would be more than the pieces of the sand. And when I wake up, I am still with you.
00:08:19
Speaker
Look into me, God. Know what's in my heart. Test me and know what I think about. See if there's anything bad in me. Lead me in the way that lasts forever.

Personal Testimony and Faith

00:08:35
Speaker
Helen. God knows you. God knew you before you were born. and he knew that but everything that he made, he tells us in the Bible, that when he saw what he had made, he saw that it was good.
00:08:52
Speaker
He didn't say some of it was good or most of it was good or everything else is good, but not this. He saw everything he had made and it was good. And God made Helen.
00:09:05
Speaker
He made you. And you are good. Don't let the enemy tell you any differently. God made you and you were wonderful, even when you were still being knit together in your mother's womb.
00:09:19
Speaker
You are wonderful and nothing we do is hidden from him. This psalm reminds us that there is nowhere we can go to hide from God. And it's not said in a bad way, like we should be afraid and hide from God.
00:09:34
Speaker
It's that no matter where we go, neither height nor depth nor anything can separate us. Nothing can separate you from the love that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
00:09:46
Speaker
Nothing can separate any of us from the love that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
00:09:54
Speaker
God goes before us and behind us. He is always with us. He knows us when we get up. He knows us when we sit down. he knows when we go out.
00:10:06
Speaker
God knows all our ways. And before we even say a word, God knows it all. He knows the things that people have done to hurt us. He knows that the the lies that the enemy tells us of who we are.
00:10:23
Speaker
But we can exchange those lies for the truth.
00:10:28
Speaker
Everybody can. The enemy wants to tell us that God is not here, that we are alone. But this psalm, Psalm 139, written by David, David who experienced being hunted down by another man, he experienced great joy in the Lord and knowing that God held him safe.
00:10:49
Speaker
God did. We saw the life of David and we saw God take care of him every step of the way. And in that same way, he is always here with each one of us.
00:11:01
Speaker
We can't go up into space. We can't go deep into the ocean. Everywhere we go, God is with us. Now, if that's not reason to be joyful and celebrate, I don't know what is.
00:11:15
Speaker
The enemy wants to tell us that we are alone and that we are bad. And it says here, everything God made is wonderful, meaning you are wonderful.
00:11:29
Speaker
God planned all of our days. He wrote them in the book before we'd even lived one of them.
00:11:36
Speaker
ah And when we wake up, we are still with him.
00:11:40
Speaker
Lord, lead us in the way that lasts for forever.

Praise through Psalms

00:11:46
Speaker
Next Psalm is Psalm 145, wonderful love, written by, you wanna guess? That's right, by David. I will bow before you, my God the King.
00:11:59
Speaker
i will praise you every day. will worship your name forever. ah one can understand how great, how great God is.
00:12:11
Speaker
God is loving and kind. He does not get angry quickly. He is full of love. God is good to everyone.
00:12:22
Speaker
He's kind to everything he made. God keeps all of his promises and he treats everything he made with love. He holds up everyone who falls.
00:12:35
Speaker
God is right in everything he does. He is loving. He is near everyone who calls him. He gives good things to people who look up to him.
00:12:47
Speaker
God watches over people who love him. He hears their cry and saves them. But he gets rid of sinful people. My mouth will cheer for God.
00:12:59
Speaker
Let everyone praise his name forever.
00:13:07
Speaker
but's we we are praising God every day here in this event. We are praising him every day for he is wonderfully made. He has always existed. He is our great I am.
00:13:19
Speaker
That is so hard to understand. It's impossible for us to understand everything. He always was and he always will be. So we can take comfort in knowing that we also will be always with him because Jesus took care of death for us.
00:13:34
Speaker
We don't even have to be afraid of death. If you have been afraid of death, I was afraid of death. I was very much afraid of my husband's death. And it had me running scared.
00:13:47
Speaker
And I was making decisions and trying to plan things so that I would be prepared for when he died and when he was no longer with me. And I was just so scared every day, every time he eats the wrong foods, I'm afraid he's going to cause him to die. And God took that fear and he replaced it with faith and love in him and assurance in him, knowing that he will take care of me And he has done that this year while we've been reading this event.
00:14:18
Speaker
I no longer fear that. And the peace that it brings is so wonderful. I love that peace.
00:14:28
Speaker
God keeps all of his promises. And he has promised to give us peace and patience and love. They are with us forever.
00:14:42
Speaker
me see if there was something else I was going to say on that. That's pretty, pretty applicable. That's pretty much everything. Oh my gosh. Here's our last Psalm of the day.
00:14:54
Speaker
And the, oh no, it's not. It's not. We have another one after that, but this one is a little bit longer. And it is Psalm 148 and it's entitled Praise Him. Praise God from heaven high above.
00:15:08
Speaker
Praise him, all you angels. Praise him, armies of heaven. Praise him, sun and moon. Praise him, you stars that shine.
00:15:20
Speaker
Praise him, you high heavens. Let everything God made praise him. He said the word and they were made.
00:15:32
Speaker
He set them in their places forever. Praise God from earth. Praise Him, you great sea life. Praise Him, you deep ocean.
00:15:43
Speaker
Praise Him, lightning and hail. Praise Him, snow and clouds and storm winds that do what He says. Praise Him, you mountains and hills.
00:15:55
Speaker
Praise Him, fruit trees and cedar trees. Praise Him, you wild animals and cows. Praise him, small animals and birds that fly. Praise him, kings of all nations, princes, and all you rulers.
00:16:12
Speaker
Praise him, young men and women, old men and children. Let them all praise God. His name should be most important. He is greater than the earth and sky.
00:16:26
Speaker
He gave his people a strong king, and he is the one they cheer for. They are close to his heart. Praise God.
00:16:37
Speaker
Aren't these wonderful psalms? Everything. reminds me of that song. Let everything that, everything that has breath praise the Lord. Let everything that, everything that has breath praise the Lord.
00:16:56
Speaker
ah I have been singing all morning. The other song that this reminds me is of is what we call the doxology, which if you're older, you may have heard it. And if you're younger, you may be less familiar, but you've probably heard it, I'm sure.
00:17:10
Speaker
Praise God from whom all blessings flow. Praise him, all creatures here below. Praise him ah above all heavenly host.
00:17:26
Speaker
Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.
00:17:34
Speaker
Amen. That song has been on my lips all morning. Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. And let us, everybody, praise the God whom from all blessings flow.
00:17:51
Speaker
I'm sure you can find a million things to praise Him for today. Everything, whether it's from the smallest creature, the smallest ant, to the weather, everything that God made, let it praise Him.
00:18:07
Speaker
Ooh, dancing. This is our final psalm for the day, Psalm 150.
00:18:14
Speaker
Praise God in His mighty heavens. Praise Him for the powerful things He has done. Praise him for how great he is. Praise him with horns and harps.
00:18:25
Speaker
Praise him with tambourines and dancing. Praise him with flutes and with cymbals that crash. Let everything that lives praise God. Doesn't that just make you want to get up and dance?
00:18:39
Speaker
Make a joyful noise to the Lord. That's our last song for today. I hope that you are filled with music and love and praising and that it be on your lips all day today to praise our beautiful, magnificent, wonderful, loving, faithful God.
00:19:02
Speaker
I am so glad that you are here with me today. I pray that you be filled to overflowing with God's light and his joy. And if you do feel that God has filled you up with joy and light today, then let's all click that light button so that others can be attracted and also be filled with God's love and his light and we can spread the word about reading God's word.
00:19:26
Speaker
Thank you so much for being here with me today and I will be here for everyone tomorrow as we begin our new section of Psalms. Have a great day, everybody.
