Overcoming Money Mindset Blocks

00:00:02
Speaker
Okay, so I'll say two of them. I could go down the list of all the typical money mindset blocks, right? But I'll give you the meat that you're looking for. The two biggest things that I see women struggle with when it comes to building wealth. Number one is
00:00:22
Speaker
Welcome to Freed and Powered Up. Here is where conscious female leaders who are taking their exit from the overly dominant male patriarchal energy, however you experienced it, can really start to break free from the energy that keeps us back from being who we came here to be and leaving the legacy we came here to leave.
00:00:41
Speaker
the fear, the triggers, the self-sabotage, and limiting behaviors and beliefs without all of it. Every episode, I'm going to connect you to your inner power and awaken the divine feminine within you.

Introduction and Purpose of the Podcast

00:00:55
Speaker
I'm your host and your sister, Latoya Zavala. Let's go.

00:01:24
Speaker
You know that we have been doing a series on money and energy and how that affects particularly women and how we get to expand and we get to grow and we get to truly step into our power and our goddess energy when it comes to wealth, abundance, and money. And we're not shying away from that word. And money. So I, without further ado,
00:01:50
Speaker
Without further ado, I'm going to bring on

Guest Introduction: Etiana and Katiana

00:01:52
Speaker
our guest. She is phenomenal and powerful in her own right, especially when it comes to wealth and finances and money and energy. And so let us welcome in Etiana. Come on in, come on in. Hey, how are you doing? Hello, everyone. Hello. Thank you so much for having me on your platform.
00:02:13
Speaker
It is an honor to be part of this series and to have this dialogue with you and just be raw and empowering and healing and all the things that we need to be at this very moment. Absolutely. I love that you said all those words because that is exactly everything that we need to be at this moment. I would love for you to tell the people who you are and in your words, what you do.
00:02:43
Speaker
Yes, my name is Katiana Carre. I am a multidimensional being who just so happened to be the founder of Sawa Sawa. Sawa Sawa is a financial wellness company that teaches the language of money and demystifies the world of investing.
00:03:05
Speaker
to women and underrepresented communities. So that's who I am, and this is what I do. What else? What's the next question? First of all, I love the way that you said that and how you said that for
00:03:25
Speaker
millennia, this world of investing, this world of maneuvering with money has been mystified for women, particularly. And I feel intentionally, and now we're coming into a space, we're coming into
00:03:48
Speaker
a time where the collective, you know, we as the collective are deciding that, no, we get to know the language of money. No, we get to demystify this world and we get to step into it and we get to participate in it and we get to, and here's the part, enjoy it. Enjoy.

Katiana's Journey and Financial Inspiration

00:04:17
Speaker
So, um, I just want to quick ask, you know, just in a nutshell, how you came to do this work, why the name Salasawa and, um,
00:04:30
Speaker
Yeah, let's let's start there because I feel like there's so much there and I'm ready. Yes, yes, yes. So how did I end up in this world? Oh, this is a long story. But I guess, um, where can I start? I can start with the fact that I was actually
00:04:49
Speaker
born and raised in Haiti and my parents were actually very privileged in it we weren't like the wealthiest class but we were definitely not middle class either we work somewhere in the middle maybe hot upper middle class so we had all the privileges in the world chauffeurs.
00:05:09
Speaker
nannies, all sorts of luxuries, and so on and so forth. And so coming here to the States, I didn't get any of that. Not only was it a culture shock for me, because I didn't quite fit in with everybody that was there. So that was a shock for me. And then also the lifestyle was a shock. I had to do my own dishes, I had to clean my own room.
00:05:32
Speaker
Right, I had to also, yeah, I'm telling you, I came from having a maid who cleans up after me every day, you know, a living maid in the house. Can we just pause because I really want to give space.
00:05:48
Speaker
I just really want to give space to what you just said. First of all, it speaks to so many things, but I know right now that it's speaking loudly and powerfully to, um, stereotyping that I know that there are many people listening right now. Like, wait a minute. She came from Haiti and she had, and she was culture shock, not having those things in the United States because you know what the media shows us about Haiti, right? And you know what,
00:06:17
Speaker
you know, the perspective that we have. And so even hearing you say that right there, I feel is a bombshell to the stereotyping that we have been privy to as Americans, right? To hear that you came from Haiti to America and was like, wait a minute. Why do I have to look like this? Yeah, yeah. And we hold on. I'm sorry. How old were you?
00:06:44
Speaker
I was nine years old when I came here in the States, yeah. So I was old enough to understand things, but I was still young enough to be able to pick up English easily and mold and adapt quickly.
00:06:56
Speaker
Typically, those who come a little bit later have a little bit more of a rough time adapting. So I was at that perfect age to still have my values where I spent enough time in Haiti, the culture was solidified, but also I wasn't too stuck in my ways where I could evolve and adapt.
00:07:16
Speaker
So yeah, we could even go on a whole tangent with that because we could even go into the concept of wealth as well. Because when most people think about Haiti, they think about poverty, they think about political unrest, they think about flies on somebody's face, or dirty streets, right? And here I am talking about how I had all these luxuries and coming here was
00:07:38
Speaker
That is a disparity, and it's also tied to the concept of wealth, right? What does wealth really mean, right? What does it really mean? Yeah. But that's another tangent. Maybe another episode. Another episode for sure. Yes. Cultural, culture, and wealth. Culture and wealth.
00:08:01
Speaker
I love that. I'm ready for it, I'm ready for it. We'll book it, we'll book it. So now here you are in the States and you're like, huh? And then so how does that develop within you where you decide, no, I'm gonna do this for a living? Yes, so what happened, I'll fast forward to high school. My father gets diagnosed with sarcoma, soft tissue cancer.
00:08:27
Speaker
And, you know, I never thought that this actually happened in real life, but the doctors actually told him he had six months to live. I always thought that was like a thing in the movies. And so I literally watched my mother was like, you're not leaving me with these kids. Like we're going to fight this together. And she was like doing all sorts of natural medicines, you know, juicing, just everything with food. And he was actually able to live for an extra five and a half years. Right. But the cancer took him.
00:08:55
Speaker
And after that, I saw a complete shift between my parents coming here, having to start from scratch and build their way up to my mom losing all of it again. And I was like, this is...
00:09:11
Speaker
I have to stop this pattern. I noticed it. At that point, I was like 20 or 21 around there. I was still very young, but I was able to notice the pattern and I wanted to put a stop to it because I could not go through that again, right? And I didn't want to see my mom suffer.
00:09:27
Speaker
And I just wanted to rescue her. I was 20, I'm getting emotional even talking about it. I was 18, 19 just wanting to do something. And I'm too young to really contribute anything monetarily. I don't know anything about the world yet. And so I was just like, I have to do something. And so I remember in, it wasn't ninth grade or eighth grade, I had a computer teacher who taught us about stocks, okay?
00:09:53
Speaker
She taught us about the stock market. She had us buy newspapers every Sunday or have our parents buy the newspapers to keep up with the stock prices. And I remember seeing the stock prices go up. And I said, you know what? That stock market thing might be the answer. So let me go look into the stock market.
00:10:13
Speaker
So I go and down the rabbit hole, fast forward, you know, I teach myself how to trade the stock market. Made a lot of money, lost all of it. Made a lot of money, lost all of it again. Made a lot of money, lost all of it. And I was like, oh my God, there's something wrong with me. What's going on? And so I went and got my master's and I was like, I don't know what I'm doing. I need help. So I, of course, as a Caribbean, you think everything is solved by going back to school. So I got my master's.
00:10:42
Speaker
And that's how everybody said that. But that is so true. It's so true. It's like, all right, the answer is go back to school.
00:10:54
Speaker
Right. Yes. Yes. Yes. I know I went off on a whole tangent there, but I just wanted to give you what was going on in my mind, why I made those decisions to lead to my masters. And that's how I got my career started. Yes. No, I love that. And I don't know if you've ever had your Vedic chart read, but I, I, when I tell my clients,
00:11:17
Speaker
Typically those souls who come here invade for the soul path of Artha, that's what happens. They make a lot of money and lose it and make a lot of money and lose it because the soul wants to understand all sides of wealth. The soul is like wanting to know every side of the coin
00:11:40
Speaker
so that when they come into their selves, they become masters. So I would even venture to say, you definitely are the person.
00:11:52
Speaker
I am. I am. That's so funny. My Odoo, remember how I talked to you about IFA? My Odoo says something similar. It says that I will not have my success, which I consider myself successful now, but I guess they're talking about like the big, big boy success stuff won't happen until later in life because I am supposed to go through this.
00:12:12
Speaker
to be a master. All of it is saying the same thing. You read me like a book. I love it. Okay, so talk about Sawa Sawa, where the name come from.
00:12:30
Speaker
Yes, that was that was the next question. So Sawa Sawa, okay. So I know I kind of skipped a lot of different parts in my story. But in the middle of that, I was while I was learning about the stock market, making a lot of money, I, you know, I wasn't really worried about the finance degree yet. At that point, I was studying economics. And with economics, my goal was to be in development, developmental economics, so such as
00:12:56
Speaker
working with the UN, working with the IMF, or just being in the development of countries. Because I felt like if I could help Haiti become economically empowered like they used to be, then I can go back home. I can finally go back home. Wow, okay. And so that was my way out in a way. And so I went to, during my economics degree,
00:13:23
Speaker
I had a project that I wanted to do, and so I ended up volunteering in Kenya. It was my first time in Africa. And in Kenya, they speak Kiswahili. And so that's where Hakuna Matata comes from. Hakuna Matata is Kiswahili. So whenever we would greet each other, like, what's up, how are you, type of thing.
00:13:45
Speaker
they would always say Sawa Sawa. Sawa Sawa means everything. It's the same, actually it's kind of the same as Akuna Matata, except it's just a little bit more, it's a little lighter. So it's more like, oh, everything's crisp, everything's good, you know, everything's all right. Like life is just beautiful type of thing. And so that's where it came from, Sawa Sawa. Like everything's just pure balance, pure peace.
00:14:12
Speaker
I love that. That's beautiful. So let's talk about money. You are out there. Like if you're following Katiana on her social medias, you will see her. She's investing in countries in Africa. She is traveling. She's in, you know, she's in Morocco. She's like doing Sahara Desert. She is traveling and she's enjoying life and she is truly walking in this
00:14:39
Speaker
abundance and wealth consciousness. And I know that you work with a lot of women in being able to walk that path. I'd love for you to talk about, if you can, what are some commonalities, some trends where you feel this is where most of us are blocked. And we've got to clear this if we can walk in the path of joy and abundance and wealth. Oh, this is a good one.
00:15:10
Speaker
Because you know I come with that. You know I come with that. Yes, yes. Okay, so I'll say two of them. I could go down the list of, you know, all the typical money mindset blocks, right? But I'll give you the meat that you're looking for. The two biggest things that I see women struggle with when it comes to building wealth. Number one is the fear of success.
00:15:40
Speaker
That is the biggest one, the biggest one. Fear of success. Do you want to say the second one first before we dig into that, or should we just dig into that and we'll come back to the second one? Let's dig into it, let's dig into it. So yes, the fear of success, it's often masked as the fear of failure.
00:16:04
Speaker
It's often masked as that. And it's also tied, I will say, the second one, actually, I was going to hold off on the second one, it is also tied to the second one, which is fear of abandonment.
00:16:16
Speaker
We'll get into that. That is huge, that is huge. Okay, let's go back to that because you're right. Huge, okay. Huge, yes, yes. And they are tied, you're exactly right. Yeah, yes, there it is. When I was having my awakening and really starting to do the coaching and talk about the fears, and I came to this fear of success, I was like,
00:16:44
Speaker
What kind of foolishness? Who would be afraid of being successful? That would make no damn sense. Literally, that's how I thought. And then as I started getting to the work, I realized it is a real thing. And even when I realized it was a real thing,
00:17:01
Speaker
I couldn't make sense of it in my mind coming from where I came from, right? And coming from domestic violence and the trauma and tragedy that happened in my life. I couldn't make sense of being afraid of being successful. And it was only when I started to work with women that I understood the depths of it. But I wonder if you could talk about it from your perspective and from the work that you do. Like, how does it manifest? Because somebody might be listening to this and they're like, do I have a fear?
00:17:29
Speaker
success like how does it how do you see it right right typically it depends on the person but typically the underlining beliefs is okay you okay the way the main way that it manifests is someone will kind of like me I'm looking at myself now

Fear of Success and Self-Limiting Beliefs

00:17:57
Speaker
It's a slimy one. It's a slimy one that we're always working on. At every level. Yeah, yeah. It's showing up for me. Even identifying it is showing up for me because when I told you my story about the big money, small, big, that, what is that? Feast and famine.
00:18:14
Speaker
Yeah, that is the biggest way that it shows up, feast, famine. And this could mean, it could mean sales, you have, you know, a really, really good quarter or really, really good month, and then slow down, slow down, slow down. And it's like crickets and you're like scrambling, like, where do I get money to pay my bills? And then you finally go all in and then you get this big influx and then you're like, you can breathe, but then you got to pay. It's like,
00:18:39
Speaker
That roller coaster. That roller coaster, right? So there's that. And then there's also this, I know what to do. I know what I want to do, but I talk myself out of it. I'll put it towards later or procrastination. That's another one. Okay. Yeah. Where I will procrastinate a lot because you're, you're, you're keeping, there's this invisible ceiling that's happening with, um,
00:19:02
Speaker
What is it called? What's that book? The Big Leap. The Big Leap, right, right. Talk about that invisible ceiling. Right. Cardi, what's the name of it? Oh, because it's such a powerful way, the words that he used too. You're self-limiting, you're- Yes, upper limit. The upper limit, that's what it is. That's the upper limit, yes. Upper limiting yourself, yes. Exactly, exactly. And so it's like, okay, I can shine, I could be the best, but I have to stay unnoticed.
00:19:31
Speaker
Right. Cause it's not safe. It's not safe for me to be successful. There's something, there's a reason why. And that reason could be anything. It could be something that happened in a childhood most of the time, right? It could be, I don't want to leave, I don't want to feel like I'm leaving people behind. That's another one that, that loyalty to, to your, to your clan, whether that's immediate family, whether that's friendships, like, Oh, they'll, they'll look at me different, or I don't trust myself.
00:19:58
Speaker
with this newfound success, but I know how to handle it down here, right? This is comfortable, but I don't know the unknown. So there's a lot of that happening with the fear of success. Now, as far as the, oh, sorry, I didn't want to get into the second one, but yo, let's go. Yeah, let's go. I think it's a really powerful, how to put this, it's a really powerful energy and it's a really powerful acknowledgement
00:20:29
Speaker
It even sounds crazy to say, I have a fear of success. Even saying it or acknowledging it can carry its own weight for a lot of women. It can carry even some baggage, some shame around feeling to say it in those words. I think it's powerful even to continue to talk about it so that women can identify, what is the block?
00:20:57
Speaker
What is the limit? I'm not necessarily afraid of failing. I'm not failing. I am being successful, but there's something there. And I love how you said that the fear of success.
00:21:12
Speaker
can manifest in so many different ways. It can manifest in upper limiting. It can manifest in procrastination. It can manifest in self-sabotage. It can manifest in hiding, not showing up. It can, you know, in so many different ways. And it's wonderful when you're doing the self-reflection and you're doing the work to really identify it so that you can clear it, so that you can become.
00:21:41
Speaker
who you are meant to become in this world. And, and enjoy that money. Let me say it again. Yes, exactly. And enjoy that money, which
00:21:52
Speaker
I really truly feel you embody for me. Okay. I was going to say that, I want to give you your flowers. I just want to hold that space for you. And so it's directly tied to the second, which is fear of abandonment.

Impact of Fear of Abandonment on Wealth

00:22:08
Speaker
That's, that's the one that, that's the one that I, and I'm always very honest with my clients, the reason why my clients
00:22:15
Speaker
experience such a powerful transformation is because I'm in this with you. I'm going through this battle with you. I just overcame this portion of this battle. So I'm teaching you how I overcame this because you're going through the same thing. Now let's go, right? We're in this together. This is a big one for me, fear of abandonment.
00:22:34
Speaker
Hey, infinitely expanding soul. How could I let you leave this podcast episode without knowing about an amazing opportunity to know yourself deeper and fall so madly in love with yourself that you ooze it out in everything that you do. To know your life path for certain and erase the doubt. To know your soul's purpose and what it came here to work out and the cycle it came to complete. To know where your major energies are aligning in your talents and your gifts.
00:23:03
Speaker
and where your major energies are aligning with your wealth consciousness. Yes, more money. And maybe most importantly, how to integrate it all into your life so that we stop spinning in circles trying to figure all this shit out in a world that hopes that we don't.
00:23:18
Speaker
in a super tight container with some energy clearing, laser coaching, and a vortex of women who are about not only their transformation, but they're about yours too so that there's no room for leaving this space without getting what you came for.
00:23:34
Speaker
Welcome to the new and enhanced Goddess Collective, a 90-day journey into yourself and your infinite potential, your purpose, your prosperity, and your power embodied now. Click the link in the show notes to reserve your seat for the next cohort and do not delay.
00:23:57
Speaker
Fear of abandonment, this one will stop you from allowing yourself to receive because if you allow yourself to receive, then blah, blah, blah happens. Whatever that limiting belief is, whatever that story that you're telling yourself is, because that story happened once or maybe two or three times in your childhood.
00:24:18
Speaker
And so it became a solidified belief, right? Or it happened to somebody around you. Sometimes that's the case, right? Yeah. You witnessed it happening. And so now it became your story. Now it became your story. Exactly. Exactly. So with the with the fear of abandonment, it's stopping myself from receiving because if I receive then and also stopping myself from breaking that upper limit, because if I break that upper limit, I'm going to be lonely.
00:24:48
Speaker
I'm going to just like I just like I was saying, like the fear of success, they kind of go in hand in hand there. It's actually two sides of the same point. So
00:24:58
Speaker
there's this family loyalty, another big one, which is part of the fear of abandonment, where you are part of your, especially as women, we bond as women, right? With your sisters, with your aunties, especially when you're in the kitchen cooking, you know, there's that bonding because we're humans and we're social creatures. We crave that bond. And so we always want to feel like we belong.
00:25:23
Speaker
Okay. And so if, if I made too much money or if I'm too successful, I no longer belong to what I'm familiar with and what I feel safe in. And so I'm going to reject all of this coming to me because I want to be part of the sisterhood or part of this, this family clan or this friendship circle or whatever it is.
00:25:43
Speaker
that's keeping you safe at the moment. So those are the two main. Now there's all other sorts of things that would be surface level that we would have to get into to really find the root being those two things, right? Yes. Yes. In a nutshell. Yes. And it's amazing to me. Well, through my work, it's been amazing to me. How many of us?
00:26:12
Speaker
have that fear, the fear of abandonment and how it shows up. And I love the way that you brought it to the clan, so to speak, right? This human need to belong and how in different ways we've identified ourselves and created a sense of safety and security as a part of that clan or tribe.
00:26:39
Speaker
And so there's absolutely nothing wrong with that. That's human. It's human to want that and it's human to need that. And we also get to expand. Yeah, exactly. And, and yes.
00:26:57
Speaker
we also get to make money and be wealthy. So then comes, how do we reconcile the two when you are now wanting to break the cycle or become the first or right? Because absolutely, if you're becoming the first, it means, you know, the picture of the book that you mentioned, the big leap, right? It's the fish jumping out of the fishbowl, right? So becoming the first,
00:27:24
Speaker
literally is that you are breaking out of, right? You're crossing a finish line that hasn't been crossed before. And so by virtue of that definition,
00:27:40
Speaker
you're going to be leaving some people where they are. And I don't want to use the word behind because I feel like the word behind is what kind of spurs on some of that fear, right? But by virtue of being pioneer, of being the first, of being a trailblazer, of being a movement maker, of breaking the cycles, however it manifests for you,
00:28:07
Speaker
it does mean that some people get to be released where they are. Yeah, yeah. You know, another layer to this, I want to add, I came across to this TikTok video the other day, it's always, that's usually the best downloads, right? It's like randomly rolling in, it's like, wait a minute, you're speaking directly to me. This algorithm is creepy.
00:28:31
Speaker
going on anyways like the algorithm knows me better than me so um this guy he said something he said it's not new levels new devils it's new levels same devil
00:28:47
Speaker
Right. And I said, right. Whoo. I felt that you felt that I felt it saying it right. New love. It's not new love. I'm gonna say it again. It's not. Yeah, those new devils. It's new levels.
00:29:03
Speaker
Same devil now the reason why I brought this up is because Yes, those two are the main the biggest blocks, right? But here's the biggest mistake that I made I thought oh, I'm just gonna work on these blocks and then I'll be free. I'll be okay I'll be healed and I'll be okay Level one level two
00:29:30
Speaker
You're laughing. I'm laughing because when you say that, I literally have the picture in my mind, Mario jumping on the black hole and you're like, but there's another level. And it's even harder. And there are some new challenges along this devil, but the mission and the goal remains the same. Yes. At the end of the day. Yes. I say, I say, yes.
00:30:00
Speaker
Um, and I, and I also want to bring it around. I really, I wanted to touch on this piece too, because this, this in my work, and I wonder if it's in your work too, it happens to be big in this around this sphere of abandonment. There is the sense of the clan, the tribe, and I'm phrasing it that way, because I feel that to me includes the village, right? The friends, the sisters, the mother, right, the whole. And then it's, I feel this might be
00:30:28
Speaker
another level, or when you go down the pipe, the secret level, you know, of the game where then there's the partner, which I feel like is a whole, it's a different game, right? Yes. There's the partner. And I have several clients where that is the hold. I don't want to call it the block, but the hold. I can't leave them behind.
00:30:58
Speaker
Yeah. Yeah. So this is powerful. I don't even need to say anything. You said it all. No, you're so right. It's huge.
00:31:08
Speaker
It's huge. It's huge. Yeah. And the reason and I'm so glad you tied those two together. You picked up my slack there because I didn't tie the two together. Thank you. Thank you for that. But the reason why I even brought that up is because I wanted to invite the women that are listening or everybody who's listening, right? Don't be too hard on yourself. Give yourself grace, right? Because
00:31:34
Speaker
yes you're gonna go through these obstacles you're gonna overcome this block and it's gonna show up again it's gonna show up differently but like you said you stay focused and you will recognize it because before we weren't recognizing it we were just living in it and thinking that's just how life is.
00:31:50
Speaker
Right. Then we had an awakening and we're like, oh, this is this is not, oh, we don't want this. Right. And so we did all the crying, all the boohoo and all the shedding and everything. And then we reached this level and we rested a little bit. But the fight is not done. Right. It's not really a fight, but the journey, the journey is done. Right. The mission is not over yet.
00:32:12
Speaker
that you gotta keep going. And don't be discouraged when these things show up again for you. It doesn't mean that all the work that you did before was a waste of time. No, it's a thank you. Yes, because I did all this work, I'm now able to handle this new level of this devil.
00:32:28
Speaker
Yes, I guess the clap for that because yes, I have said that same thing. Yeah, the devil's coming back in a different form, but guess what? You've graduated. You've graduated, right? And so you're now meeting this challenge from a different place in a different energy with a different strength and an elevated wisdom, I suppose is what I would say. Yes. Oh, so good.
00:33:00
Speaker
Okay, so now I want to ask, as you are walking this journey, you're now at the place where you're truly expanding, you're traveling, you're investing in different countries. And I guess I would like to ask, what's your
00:33:19
Speaker
What is your main message to the women who are listening to this right now? They realize that they have some energetic blocks. They realize they they're, they're managing these different levels and they're moving through. Um, and they see someone like you and they're like, how could I possibly ever get there? Yeah. What would be your main message to these women?
00:33:47
Speaker
Ooh, such a powerful question. Yeah, I love this. I love this interview, by the way. You're coming in hot. You're coming in hot. You're coming in hot. I love them because there were substance, you know? I would say I'll tell the story. I'll start with the story, the story that I was going to tell you earlier. Yes. I'm so glad. I'm so glad. Bring it. Yes, yes. So earlier, for those of you who are listening in,
00:34:14
Speaker
Earlier, Latoya asked me, there's so many directions that we can take. Where do you want to go with this interview? And it's funny, as soon as you said that, it made me realize that this is literally a reflection of what's happening internally for me, what you said. Because in March, I went to Beverly Hills for a conference.
00:34:38
Speaker
in april i went to morocco and in may i went to rwanda so three months of back-to-back traveling so i had no coaches no coaching not not none of the stuff that i usually do like no none of the regular day-to-day stuff so i was literally pulled out of my routine
00:34:55
Speaker
And once I was pulled out of my routine, I realized, I hate this SHIT. I don't know if I can say it. Go ahead. I was like, oh my God, I was in this shit and I couldn't even see it. Like, this is not what I want. I do not like this business. I created a business and I hate it.
00:35:18
Speaker
This is recent, by the way, right? This is recent. And so it's so funny because when you're in it, you're like, oh yeah, yeah, just go, go, go. And I was pulled out of it. And I said to myself, well, what do I want? I know that this business model that I've created
00:35:35
Speaker
which was a product, you know, after further investigation, inner investigation, I realized that it was a product of listening to everybody else but myself. And so I lost myself trying to please other coaches, other mentors, they said, do this, they said, do that, you know, this, this and that. And what about me? And I just, you feel like I just need to just give space to that because
00:36:05
Speaker
I promise you this over 50% of people that are listening to this iPad right now are like, yes, that is me.
00:36:12
Speaker
And we live right now in a world of society, because we're so global through the internet, through media, that there are so many voices in our heads telling us, this is the way what they're in. No, no, no, this is the way. No, no, no, this is the way. No, no, no, this is the way. And then there's a trend way. And then there's a now 2024 way. And there's, right?
00:36:44
Speaker
And there's a way that works for this seven figure person. There's a way that works for this eight figure person. And so yes, you got to the place where you built this thing that was successful, but you lost yourself. Wow. So powerful. And can you actually still say this is success if you in fact lost yourself?
00:37:14
Speaker
Oh. I would say success recognizing that I lost myself. Yes. I guess the clap on the mic for that one. Yes. Yes. Just to be able to recognize and see like, whoa, I don't like this.
00:37:37
Speaker
So what did you do? So, so, okay. So the questions, let's go back to the question. Now you're invested, right? Okay. Tell me the rest of the story. Like I don't know the story. So, okay. So after I realized I hate, I hate this business, I said, you know what? Let's pause. Let's not sell anything. Let's not sell anything. And let's decide what do I want to sell? What do I want? What do I want? And you know what? I came up blank.
00:38:07
Speaker
I came up like, I didn't even know what I wanted. LaToya, I started crying. I was like, oh my God, this is what I help my clients with. I help them know what they want, and I don't know what they want. Which, by the way, is another thing that so many of us women deal with. We help our clients with whatever it is. Help, and oh my God, I help them too. Oh, we help our clients with money. Oh my God, but now my money is, right? And we help our clients with whatever it is, and then we get into that place.
00:38:36
Speaker
Oh, yeah, yeah, exactly. Exactly. And so I'm actually in the middle of it. Okay, so this is a very recent story. And how did I overcome this? How I overcome that? How I overcame this was I started
00:38:52
Speaker
to listen to my heart, even if it's two times a day of just closing, yeah, literally closing my eyes, putting my hands on my heart, feeling my heartbeat. Because sometimes when we're lost like that, we want the answer right away. I want to be able to see, okay, well, you know, I know that I don't want this, so what do I want? Why isn't it coming to me? What's wrong? And then we force it and we put all this anxiety on it.
00:39:16
Speaker
And it just makes it worse, right? And so I had to release my attachment on having to have it figured out. And I said to myself, you know what? I don't have it figured out. That's OK. It'll come to me. I'm just going to keep connecting with my heart. And as I continue to do that, randomly, OK, because that's how it always happens, randomly, quote, unquote, right? Randomly, I was invited to some sort of
00:39:45
Speaker
sign up for some sort of newsletter. I said to myself, a paid newsletter. That sounds like fun. I get to write whenever I want. I get to not have to show up on a Zoom. I don't have to speak to nobody. I get to write and be free and travel. I was like, what about a newsletter? And then all these thoughts came up and I was like, how are you going to make money with newsletter? You can't make 50K months with newsletter. And this is that. I was like, ah, shut it up.
00:40:12
Speaker
Yep, you better feels good. I love that. So I love that. So hold on. So so what we're piecing together right now is listen to the heart, listen to the heart, let the inspiration come in, decide whether it feels good.
00:40:30
Speaker
shut the mind down because it will overrun you. It will overtake you. It will connect you to all the things that you have been hearing or advised or, you know, the media that has been injecting. And so you have to quiet your mind. You had to like shut it down because this is what feels good at this time. Wow. That really requires like a certain amount of self trust.
00:40:59
Speaker
Yeah, it does, it does. And when I tell you everything, I don't remember the last time I had a call to action for someone to book a call with me or anything. When I tell you my inbox is full all the time of people ready to work with me, I don't lift a finger. I don't do any advertising. To be honest with you, I'm actually taking those calls and trying to get them into my membership or newsletter. I don't even wanna do one-on-ones. And I don't know what it is, but people are like, they want it even more now.
00:41:27
Speaker
And so there's like, I have this new piece. I'm going to tell you right now, I wish I could be on this podcast and tell you I figured it all out. No, I'm still in the middle of it. But I have this piece around me that I just don't I don't feel like I need to worry about it. So all of that to say, right? What was the point of this story? The whole point is, don't forget who you are along the way. Don't forget who you are.
00:41:53
Speaker
What do you want? Yes, you're going to have mentors along the way. Yes, people are going to point you in the right direction, but always check in. Does this feel, does this feel safe? Does this feel peaceful? If the answer is I don't know, then it's a no, because peace, there's no questioning peace. Is this peace? I know that's right. That's it. That's right. Yes. I don't know. It's a no. If it's not a astounding yes, like, ah,
00:42:18
Speaker
And if it doesn't feel like that, it's not the right direction to go. And sometimes that could be scary. I know that's easier said than done, but that's my message. I hope you're able to get something from that. I'm sure you will. That was a powerful message, a powerful message. And I know for certain that I was so enriched by it and just taken in by it, by the authenticity of it, by the realness of it,
00:42:48
Speaker
the nowness of it. Because a lot of professionals, we're afraid to talk about the nowness. We won't talk about it until we're already on the other side or after it or we've got the solution. We don't talk about it. And so I'm applauding and I'm celebrating and I'm elevating your, your, your braveness, your, your courage and your dedication, your commitment.
00:43:16
Speaker
to being so authentic and to be able to share the nowness of it. And for me, this is so liberating and so freeing. And I know that this is gonna be the case for a lot of the listeners. So I think that this is a beautiful place to say thank you. Thank you for making me feel safe to even share that with you.
00:43:40
Speaker
You're so welcome. I am honored. I can't even tell you how honored I am for you to have shared this space and your wisdom and your energy. Thank you so much. And now people are like, I need to get on this newsletter. Like what
00:44:01
Speaker
I used to be in her circle. Where is her vortex? So Katiana, where can you direct the people to connect with? Yes, yes. Katiana Carey all over in every social media, Google, everywhere, LinkedIn, Facebook, YouTube, all of it. I just kept it easy for everybody, just my first and my last name. And then you can also, well, I have to have like a link so they could just sign up for the newsletter, but
00:44:33
Speaker
Yeah, just go to my social media. That's a leak. See, I'm figuring out along the way. I love that. But you're doing it because your heart led you to do it. And so you're in it. I'm in it and I'm excited to talk about it. And we're excited to hear about it.
00:44:53
Speaker
Win, win, win. And that's how you know. Like you're on your path. You're definitely on your soul path. And it's beautiful. So I will, listeners, I will have some links in the show notes for you to connect with Katyana. Katyana with a K, Kyrie with a C. And I will have the link so that you can connect with this very beautiful soul. And we get to all elevate together. Yes, yes. Ashé, thank you so much. Thank you. You're so welcome. Thank you.
