Introduction and Listener Engagement

00:00:50
Felicia Devine
Hello, and welcome back to episode two. um Thanks for joining us for that first episode where we kind of shared about a little bit of who we are, who we're raising, and then the practices that we're growing. So if you're here, thank you for coming back.
00:01:07
Felicia Devine
You clearly got through episode one.
00:01:11
Natalie Richards
ah Clearly you don't hate us that much yet.
00:01:13
Felicia Devine
Or you're still nosy, and I'm okay with that. I also listen to things for ah interest.
00:01:17
Natalie Richards
oh yeah. Nosey is, nosy is good. Yeah.
00:01:20
Felicia Devine
Yes.

Exploring Detox Pathways

00:01:23
Felicia Devine
So this episode, we are going to dive into ah little journey we've both been on. um We are going to talk a bit about how our weeks are going, um specifically in the detox pathways.
00:01:30
Natalie Richards
yeah
00:01:38
Felicia Devine
And Yeah, i I've had I'm dealing with some detox.
00:01:43
Natalie Richards
How's it been going, Felicia? Right.
00:01:46
Felicia Devine
Not great. um yeah i I've been having horrible stomach aches. So I started doing like 1.5 milligram nicotine patches, i don't know, like three weeks ago, two weeks ago, a while ago.
00:02:02
Natalie Richards
Yeah, I think, it yeah, it was...
00:02:03
Felicia Devine
Three. I think it was three weeks because it was when we first filmed.
00:02:05
Natalie Richards
Probably three. I was in, I was in Hawaii and it was, you were texting me.
00:02:07
Felicia Devine
Yeah. Yeah. Oh, yeah. Yeah.
00:02:10
Natalie Richards
You sent me the podcast. You're like, oh my God, what?
00:02:13
Felicia Devine
I'm like, have you heard of nicotine?
00:02:16
Natalie Richards
And I was like, I happen to know a little tidbit.
00:02:16
Felicia Devine
You're like months ago.
00:02:21
Natalie Richards
Yeah.
00:02:22
Felicia Devine
Yeah. So I am dabbling in like the nicotine, but I'm starting really light. um I know some people go on like maintenance of three milligram patches or three milligrams consuming it in gum or whatever, but I just do the patch.
00:02:37
Natalie Richards
Right.
00:02:39
Felicia Devine
um And I've been getting horrible headaches and horrible stomach aches. Like I I take the patch off and my stomach ache goes away. Like it's that, I'm that sensitive.
00:02:50
Natalie Richards
Yeah.
00:02:51
Felicia Devine
And it's also only like one point something milligrams. I cut the patch.
00:02:54
Natalie Richards
Right.
00:02:55
Felicia Devine
So it's like, it's not that heavy.
00:02:56
Natalie Richards
And it's a slow release over the whole day. Like that, like that tells you that your body is really letting things go but very quickly.
00:02:59
Felicia Devine
Yeah.
00:03:03
Felicia Devine
Yeah. Which like, I don't know if I'm capable of like tolerating the symptoms at this point.
00:03:09
Natalie Richards
Yeah, no, probably not.
00:03:09
Felicia Devine
um Yeah.
00:03:11
Natalie Richards
you Okay, so here's what you'd ideally get up to. And I only know this, I've been aware of nicotine for a very long time, mostly for the nootropic benefits, like the brain benefits.
00:03:16
Felicia Devine
Okay.
00:03:20
Felicia Devine
Okay.
00:03:24
Felicia Devine
Yeah.
00:03:25
Natalie Richards
But then that same podcast you sent me, I listened to that probably four times because it's so dense.
00:03:29
Felicia Devine
Yeah. I'm on my second round of it because it's so dense.
00:03:34
Natalie Richards
um and It was the Alex Clark Culture Apothecary podcast that talked about, yeah on nicotine basically and like what it is.
00:03:39
Felicia Devine
On nicotine.
00:03:43
Natalie Richards
What types of studies are done on nicotine itself? Not necessarily, we're not talking about smoking cigarettes here. Like, let's just put that out there.
00:03:50
Felicia Devine
No. We are not smoking cigarettes.
00:03:53
Natalie Richards
but Okay. There's a very different situation going on.
00:03:56
Felicia Devine
fifteen
00:03:56
Natalie Richards
i would never recommend somebody do that.
00:03:59
Felicia Devine
No.
00:03:59
Natalie Richards
Smoke, smoking anything in general. I don't, I don't think is a good idea.
00:04:01
Felicia Devine
No. Inhaling a... No.
00:04:04
Natalie Richards
No. So yeah. so from From a detox, parasite cleanse, mold-killing perspective,
00:04:18
Natalie Richards
Or even even long COVID perspective.
00:04:22
Felicia Devine
Yeah.
00:04:22
Natalie Richards
Like most of the studies that are done in the scientific world are done with a seven milligram patch that these people wear for a month or so, like two weeks, a month.
00:04:29
Felicia Devine
Mm-hmm.
00:04:33
Felicia Devine
Mm-hmm.
00:04:34
Natalie Richards
Most, even cancer benefits, like all those things, they find them with a seven milligram patch.
00:04:39
Felicia Devine
I would pass away.
00:04:40
Natalie Richards
You would like it.
00:04:41
Felicia Devine
Seven milligrams.
00:04:42
Natalie Richards
But
00:04:42
Felicia Devine
You would have to be on bed rest. How do you get through that?
00:04:46
Natalie Richards
ah because you have to you have to work your way up.
00:04:50
Felicia Devine
Oh, I, yeah.
00:04:50
Natalie Richards
So you'd start at a one like ah like what you're doing, a one milligram patch or you could do a one milligram gum, which is half of a two milligram piece.
00:04:54
Felicia Devine
Yeah, i cut it.
00:05:02
Felicia Devine
Is the gum good?
00:05:02
Natalie Richards
Which.
00:05:02
Felicia Devine
What's it taste like?
00:05:03
Natalie Richards
I like the Lucy gum. i've I've tried a couple of them, L-U-C-Y, and you just order it from the It's clean.
00:05:05
Felicia Devine
How do you spell that? Oh.
00:05:09
Natalie Richards
It's really clean. Or there's little lozenges.
00:05:11
Felicia Devine
I just like don't like chewing gum.
00:05:12
Natalie Richards
so ah There's lozenges.
00:05:13
Felicia Devine
I have TMJ issues. Oh.
00:05:15
Natalie Richards
So knickknack.
00:05:16
Felicia Devine
But wouldn't that release so much quicker?
00:05:18
Natalie Richards
Well, it does, but you might handle it better. I don't know.
00:05:21
Felicia Devine
Maybe. Maybe.
00:05:21
Natalie Richards
it's it's it would be just one milligram. You take it in 20 minutes, the nicotine's done. and then you don't have like the, but then you don't have the day long stomach ache potentially.
00:05:28
Felicia Devine
Oh,
00:05:32
Felicia Devine
stomach ache, maybe.

Challenges and Strategies in Postpartum Detox

00:05:34
Natalie Richards
don't know.
00:05:34
Felicia Devine
Okay.
00:05:34
Felicia Devine
I might have to try the Lucy gum.
00:05:36
Natalie Richards
Yeah. Or the knick knickknack lozenges, N-I-C-N-A-C.
00:05:37
Felicia Devine
I don't Yeah.
00:05:42
Natalie Richards
Those are clean lozenges.
00:05:43
Felicia Devine
Okay.
00:05:44
Natalie Richards
Yeah. Yeah.
00:05:44
Felicia Devine
Well, so let's rewind a little as to why my detox pathways are just like clogged with sludge.
00:05:51
Natalie Richards
Yes. Tell us.
00:05:52
Felicia Devine
um Because prior to pregnancy, I was clean as a bean. um All my D-Docs pathways were very open. i didn't have a lot going on.
00:06:03
Felicia Devine
um But immediately postpartum, um which we will get into our birth stories, which will shed a little bit more light on why I was in these situations. But Immediately postpartum, um um I was on an IV antibiotic drip.
00:06:19
Felicia Devine
um And then five months postpartum, I went under anesthesia and I was on opioids for I think like 48 or 72 hours. so So not like terribly long, but that's still plenty of doses.
00:06:31
Natalie Richards
But enough.
00:06:32
Felicia Devine
Yeah. Yeah.
00:06:33
Natalie Richards
Yeah.
00:06:34
Felicia Devine
um And i was also on suppository steroids for a couple months.
00:06:39
Natalie Richards
I didn't know that part.
00:06:39
Felicia Devine
And so, yeah.
00:06:40
Natalie Richards
That's crazy.
00:06:41
Felicia Devine
So between months three and five, um three and five and a half, i was under like observation of doing least invasive, like avoiding surgery and reducing local inflammation.
00:06:54
Natalie Richards
Right.
00:06:57
Felicia Devine
And so,
00:06:57
Natalie Richards
And you were having such a hard time.
00:07:00
Felicia Devine
Yeah.
00:07:00
Natalie Richards
Just like trying to avoid surgery.
00:07:02
Felicia Devine
Yeah. Yeah. So we were under observation of trying to avoid surgery. And then um it was inevitable. like it was Like I was getting the inflammation down so I had less pain. But i at the end of the day when she went in and did the operation, like it was very clear I needed surgery.
00:07:18
Natalie Richards
Yeah.
00:07:19
Felicia Devine
So i was kind of just at that point delaying it.
00:07:22
Natalie Richards
Yeah.
00:07:22
Felicia Devine
But all that to say, postpartum, I've been
00:07:22
Natalie Richards
Yeah.
00:07:26
Felicia Devine
under a lot more medical intervention than I have in the past 10, 12 years.
00:07:31
Natalie Richards
Yeah.
00:07:31
Felicia Devine
um And also with breastfeeding, you don't want to open up your detox pathways like too much because then you can detox into your breast milk.
00:07:38
Natalie Richards
Right.
00:07:39
Felicia Devine
And so being conscious of like the the balance of letting stuff out of my system so I'm not all clogged up, but also not letting it go into my breast milk because I don't want Seppi getting all of that.
00:07:50
Natalie Richards
Yep.
00:07:52
Natalie Richards
Exactly.
00:07:53
Natalie Richards
it
00:07:53
Felicia Devine
garbage.
00:07:54
Felicia Devine
But um I've done some coffee enemas, which I really like. I feel like they're gentle in my system, but they're super impactful.
00:08:03
Natalie Richards
her
00:08:03
Felicia Devine
um And I just find that they're like the biggest bang for your buck, I feel like, in the the wellness industry. like
00:08:11
Natalie Richards
Yeah.
00:08:12
Felicia Devine
You buy the coffee and you buy the bag and then you can get so many enemas out of that one package.
00:08:12
Natalie Richards
there
00:08:18
Natalie Richards
I know. I have such a mental block. Yeah.
00:08:22
Felicia Devine
Wait, have you never

Coffee Enemas and Liver Detoxification

00:08:23
Felicia Devine
coffee enemaed?
00:08:23
Natalie Richards
I've never, ever, I've never done any sort of enema. I don't know why. I think it's more so just like I have, I have, it is like I just have a mental block towards doing anything.
00:08:27
Felicia Devine
Whoa. and No, it's a barrier to start.
00:08:34
Natalie Richards
I don't fully know how exactly I'm going to go through the steps.
00:08:38
Felicia Devine
Yes. No, that is the biggest barrier. And I always tell people, I'm like, it's so much, it's so much scarier sounding.
00:08:44
Natalie Richards
I know.
00:08:45
Felicia Devine
And then once you do it once, you're like, oh, wait, what? That was it?
00:08:48
Natalie Richards
i know that's the case. I know that's what it's going to be.
00:08:49
Felicia Devine
Yeah. No. Okay. So let me just say coffee enemas. So for those listeners that don't understand, like an enema is something that you basically put into your colon, you retain, and then you release. um And so you it kind of looks like an IV drip.
00:09:09
Felicia Devine
When you're like using it, it's like a bag and then a tubing and you put it in your rectum and you administer the fluid.
00:09:09
Natalie Richards
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
00:09:16
Felicia Devine
And like, there's so many different types you could do. um There's different types for like getting rid of yeast and over like whatever, but yeah.
00:09:21
Natalie Richards
yeah There's, yeah, so many. You can do a saline one. Like it, it depends on what you're trying to do.
00:09:25
Felicia Devine
You can yeah, you can literally do water. Like, kids get water enemas when they're constipated.
00:09:29
Natalie Richards
Yeah. Yeah.
00:09:30
Felicia Devine
um So you put the tubing in, which is, like, no bigger than the size of your pinky if you're a petite human. Like, ah we're not talking, like, and construction worker pinkies.
00:09:38
Natalie Richards
Yeah, it's tiny. It is. No, it's tiny. Right.
00:09:40
Felicia Devine
It's tiny. Yeah.
00:09:41
Natalie Richards
Yeah. Yeah.
00:09:43
Felicia Devine
And then you control how much force the fluid drips with because it's gravity-based. It's not a closed system like a colonic would be.
00:09:50
Natalie Richards
right
00:09:50
Felicia Devine
um And so I just have like this little um clip and you slowly release the pressure of the clip and it allows the fluid to go in. Honestly, you can get the fluid in you in like 90 seconds and then you take the tubing out.
00:10:02
Natalie Richards
yeah yeah
00:10:03
Felicia Devine
You literally remove it and then you're just sitting there and there's no sensation.
00:10:06
Natalie Richards
And then what? You just wait for your, there's nothing.
00:10:08
Felicia Devine
Yeah. Yes.
00:10:09
Natalie Richards
You just wait to poop.
00:10:09
Felicia Devine
No. Yes. Yes. So i lay on my I lay on my bathroom floor with a pillow and a blanket.
00:10:12
Natalie Richards
Huh?
00:10:16
Felicia Devine
And I listen to like wind chime music, meditation music.
00:10:20
Natalie Richards
Okay.
00:10:21
Felicia Devine
Because if you you kind of have to focus because you're retaining like
00:10:26
Natalie Richards
A lot of fluid.
00:10:28
Felicia Devine
16 ounces, like 24 ounces of fluid, depending on how big of an enema you're doing.
00:10:30
Natalie Richards
Yeah. Yeah.
00:10:31
Felicia Devine
So like if you can think of like having a stomach ache and like really feeling like you have to go the bathroom, like you have to focus to kind of retain.
00:10:37
Natalie Richards
Yeah.
00:10:39
Felicia Devine
But that's part of also it's super good for strengthening your pelvic floor.
00:10:39
Natalie Richards
Okay.
00:10:42
Natalie Richards
Yeah. Yeah.
00:10:43
Felicia Devine
Um, it's good for like the mind body connection cause you actually have to focus.
00:10:47
Natalie Richards
Yeah.
00:10:47
Felicia Devine
And then, um when you're done retaining, so they usually say retain for anywhere from like 12 to 15 minutes, um, because your blood circulates through your liver every four minutes.
00:10:58
Felicia Devine
So like all volume of blood in your body circulates through your liver every four ish minutes.
00:10:58
Natalie Richards
Oh. Okay. Okay.
00:11:04
Felicia Devine
So if you can retain for 12 minutes, that's three cycles of blood through your liver, which is like really good.
00:11:10
Natalie Richards
Yeah.
00:11:11
Felicia Devine
It's hard to get to 12 minutes. Like I probably had to do like three or four retains before I could get there.
00:11:14
Natalie Richards
For sure.
00:11:17
Felicia Devine
But then you just sit on your toilet and you release and it literally, it's water. It just all comes out of you.
00:11:22
Natalie Richards
wow
00:11:23
Felicia Devine
um But you don't absorb any of the caffeine, even though you feel more energized, you're not metabolizing caffeine.
00:11:27
Natalie Richards
Yeah. Not through. Yeah.
00:11:30
Felicia Devine
No. So you feel like you have an energy boost, like you have caffeine, but you're not actually metabolizing which is a huge misconception.
00:11:30
Natalie Richards
Yeah.
00:11:35
Natalie Richards
Right. Right. Okay.
00:11:38
Felicia Devine
People are like, I'm going to be so jacked. I won't be able to sleep. And I'm like, no, I promise you.
00:11:43
Natalie Richards
Okay.
00:11:43
Felicia Devine
It's not.
00:11:44
Natalie Richards
I'm going to try it. i
00:11:45
Felicia Devine
No, you need to.
00:11:46
Natalie Richards
it's It's like on my list of things to do.
00:11:46
Felicia Devine
It's so good.
00:11:48
Natalie Richards
It's the one detox thing that I haven't done.
00:11:50
Felicia Devine
i know. I thought you had done it.
00:11:53
Natalie Richards
know.
00:11:53
Felicia Devine
Oh, Natalie, you need to do it.
00:11:55
Natalie Richards
I know. know. So I personally...
00:11:58
Felicia Devine
What's your favorite way? What's your favorite way to detox?
00:11:59
Natalie Richards
oh man.
00:12:00
Felicia Devine
so
00:12:02
Natalie Richards
Here's the thing. So yeah i have done all of it.
00:12:04
Felicia Devine
ah
00:12:07
Natalie Richards
I've done the cleanses.
00:12:07
Felicia Devine
ah huh
00:12:09
Natalie Richards
I've done...
00:12:09
Felicia Devine
Yeah.
00:12:09
Natalie Richards
currently... so currently I'm still in the mode that I have to i have to cleanse and detox like formally every three months.
00:12:20
Natalie Richards
Because I, yeah ever since I stopped breastfeeding, have clogged.
00:12:20
Felicia Devine
Really?
00:12:23
Felicia Devine
oh you get clogged up?
00:12:24
Natalie Richards
even... clogged like and not even like
00:12:32
Natalie Richards
I've had so many different symptoms. So when I first stopped breastfeeding, I got really, really bloated, like to the point of like, and I still have it sometimes I have like drum distension in my stomach.
00:12:34
Felicia Devine
Okay.
00:12:45
Natalie Richards
It's the weirdest, basically like, like you know like, like, like heavy drinkers, like men, if you envision their like belly,
00:12:45
Felicia Devine
What does that mean? It just means like really hard.
00:12:53
Felicia Devine
Beer belly. And it's so hard.
00:12:54
Natalie Richards
It's not really like that, but it's hard. so i So I've been having to go through, and it's so much better now because of all the things I've done, but it was like like I looked like I was nine months pregnant again.
00:12:58
Felicia Devine
Whoa. Whoa.
00:13:08
Felicia Devine
Oh, again.
00:13:08
Natalie Richards
i probably more Probably more so than when I was actually nine months pregnant.
00:13:09
Felicia Devine
no
00:13:13
Felicia Devine
Wow.
00:13:14
Natalie Richards
So it's been wild. like I'm like, what the heck is going on? So I've been muscle testing myself. I've had blood tests done. I've had all the stuff.
00:13:21
Felicia Devine
Okay.
00:13:22
Natalie Richards
um What else? I've gained ah like weight without trying. I actually live way cleaner now than I ever have in my life.
00:13:31
Felicia Devine
Yeah.
00:13:31
Natalie Richards
And I just have gained weight. just
00:13:34
Felicia Devine
Oh.
00:13:34
Natalie Richards
And my hormones aren't off.
00:13:37
Natalie Richards
So it's just the weirdest thing. So typically...
00:13:37
Felicia Devine
Weird.
00:13:39
Felicia Devine
Okay, wait, you need an enema.
00:13:40
Natalie Richards
like
00:13:41
Felicia Devine
You need an enema.
00:13:41
Natalie Richards
I know I do. I know I do, but here's what I've been doing.
00:13:43
Felicia Devine
It'll flush you out.
00:13:44
Natalie Richards
So I've, I've done castor. oil I do castor oil packs probably four or five nights a week.
00:13:49
Felicia Devine
Okay.
00:13:49
Natalie Richards
Truthfully, I still do those for when I'm really trying to detox.
00:13:50
Felicia Devine
Yeah. Are those pretty gentle?
00:13:53
Natalie Richards
I do very gentle, but it definitely just helps you poop.
00:13:55
Felicia Devine
Okay.
00:13:56
Natalie Richards
I've gotten to the point that I, I naturally will poop two to three times a day.
00:13:57
Felicia Devine
Oh.
00:14:00
Natalie Richards
Like I'm, I'm to that point where I'm, I'm eliminating really, really well.
00:14:01
Felicia Devine
Okay. Yeah.

Nicotine as a Nootropic

00:14:05
Felicia Devine
Yeah.
00:14:06
Natalie Richards
Um, I'm doing vibration plate every day.
00:14:09
Natalie Richards
umm doing all of my, all of my you know and herbal blends of of liver detoxifying things like dandelion, and milk thistle, um some mushroom, like like reishi mushroom, things like that.
00:14:09
Felicia Devine
ah hu
00:14:15
Felicia Devine
Yeah.
00:14:24
Natalie Richards
um So there's a lot of things that I've been doing that way with supplementation. um But every day, like I have my my list of things. Right now, I'm to the point where I've gotten it down to, I'm pretty sure that there's mold in our house.
00:14:38
Natalie Richards
So I know that that's what's
00:14:38
Felicia Devine
Yeah.
00:14:40
Natalie Richards
keeping me this way. So I have to continuously do like mold kill offs. Right now, I'm also pretty sure that I'm dealing with post spider bite, like some some bacteria, because I've had two of them in the last two years, probably like since these symptoms.
00:14:51
Felicia Devine
What? Yeah.
00:14:57
Felicia Devine
you use spider bites?
00:14:59
Natalie Richards
Yeah, in the same spot.
00:15:01
Felicia Devine
Wait, your mom's also accustomed to spider bites.
00:15:03
Natalie Richards
She is she's had Lyme many times. I'm like, and you can get Lyme from a spider bite.
00:15:06
Felicia Devine
Yeah. Right.
00:15:08
Natalie Richards
I'm, I'm nearly positive. I'm also dealing with that, but because i do so many things, I haven't ex experienced all of those symptoms that I could have been having, but I'm pretty sure it's there.
00:15:19
Felicia Devine
Mm-hmm. Yeah.
00:15:23
Natalie Richards
I have chronic candida overgrowth. So like my tongue is like white when I wake up in the morning because of the mold in my house.
00:15:29
Felicia Devine
Really?
00:15:31
Natalie Richards
So there's like, there's a lot of things we we need to move.
00:15:33
Felicia Devine
Wait, is this why you guys are thinking of moving?
00:15:36
Natalie Richards
Yeah, we need to move.
00:15:37
Felicia Devine
Yeah.
00:15:37
Natalie Richards
for a lot of reasons. But um so i'm I'm keeping myself okay.
00:15:44
Felicia Devine
Yeah. By keeping these pathways open, you can like manage your environmental toxins.
00:15:46
Natalie Richards
Keeping myself, yeah yeah, I can manage. Like truly, I feel pretty good. But if i go off the wagon a little bit, like my hands start aching, i get swollen, my stomach starts to get distended again.
00:16:00
Natalie Richards
so I know pretty well, like just by feeling my stomach, how am I doing?
00:16:04
Felicia Devine
Yeah.
00:16:05
Natalie Richards
So it's been crazy. So I've been doing a lot.
00:16:06
Felicia Devine
Wow.
00:16:07
Natalie Richards
And that's really why I started on the nicotine too. And that actually has helped a lot.
00:16:11
Felicia Devine
Yeah.
00:16:12
Natalie Richards
But because I was already so open, i don't have any, i I don't get any symptoms from the nicotine.
00:16:15
Felicia Devine
Mm-hmm.
00:16:18
Natalie Richards
I barely even noticed that I'm using it.
00:16:21
Felicia Devine
Natalie will throw a seven milligram on and have no, no memory that she did it.
00:16:23
Natalie Richards
literally do. I slap.
00:16:27
Natalie Richards
slap that patch on. The only thing that happened to me when I first started using it was that if I wore it like too close to bedtime or if I wore it overnight, which I tried the first couple times, my dreams were like scary.
00:16:32
Felicia Devine
Yeah.
00:16:37
Felicia Devine
Oh. Yeah.
00:16:42
Felicia Devine
Oh.
00:16:43
Natalie Richards
Like, like not, they were like really, really bad.
00:16:48
Felicia Devine
I've been having scary dreams.
00:16:48
Natalie Richards
Not just like, yes, that's why don't wear the patch overnight.
00:16:51
Felicia Devine
But, no, but we're also watching back Jurassic Park's
00:16:55
Natalie Richards
Oh God. Okay.
00:16:56
Felicia Devine
So I had Jurassic Park dreams. And then we watched a show on Netflix, this documentary about um shark photographers.
00:16:58
Natalie Richards
Yeah.
00:17:03
Natalie Richards
Oh, yes.
00:17:03
Felicia Devine
And I had a scary dream about sharks.
00:17:03
Natalie Richards
Oh, I know. I watched that too.
00:17:05
Felicia Devine
Yes.
00:17:05
Natalie Richards
Jean and I watched that.
00:17:06
Felicia Devine
Yes. And I'm like, oh, it's only because I'm watching scary things, but I don't usually get scary dreams.
00:17:10
Natalie Richards
No. No, exactly.
00:17:12
Felicia Devine
So maybe it's the nicotine.
00:17:12
Natalie Richards
You get very vivid dreams, but I, and I never really do.
00:17:14
Felicia Devine
Yes. I'm a big dreamer.
00:17:16
Natalie Richards
So the fact that A, I was dreaming in general that I remembered in the morning and I could vividly remember what it was and that it was like a little fucked up.
00:17:17
Felicia Devine
Yeah.
00:17:21
Felicia Devine
Yeah.
00:17:27
Felicia Devine
Yeah.
00:17:29
Natalie Richards
Sorry.
00:17:32
Natalie Richards
I was like, oh, like this is not good.
00:17:32
Felicia Devine
ah
00:17:34
Natalie Richards
So then I i stopped wearing it or I stopped chewing the gum like within a few hours of bedtime and then it went away.
00:17:34
Felicia Devine
Yeah.
00:17:39
Felicia Devine
Okay. Okay.
00:17:40
Natalie Richards
So FYI.
00:17:40
Felicia Devine
Because correct me if I'm wrong. Is nicotine a stimulant?
00:17:45
Natalie Richards
I mean, it's a nutrient like it's not I don't even think it technically stimulates you.
00:17:48
Felicia Devine
Right.
00:17:52
Natalie Richards
No.
00:17:53
Felicia Devine
Okay. Because Dan was convinced. So my husband started doing nicotine like a couple days before I did.
00:18:00
Natalie Richards
Yeah.
00:18:00
Felicia Devine
And he was like, i'm not I'm not going to start on a work day. I'm like, what do you mean? He's like, I'm going to wait until the weekend.
00:18:06
Natalie Richards
Oh my God.
00:18:09
Felicia Devine
He didn't want to start.
00:18:09
Natalie Richards
Okay. I was really scared at first.
00:18:10
Felicia Devine
big yeah
00:18:12
Natalie Richards
I was like, what is this going to, cause I'm not like a drug person.
00:18:13
Felicia Devine
Yes.
00:18:15
Natalie Richards
Okay.
00:18:15
Felicia Devine
No. weve We've never been into that.
00:18:16
Natalie Richards
I, if i if I take something, I'm like, oh my God, what is this going to do to me?
00:18:21
Felicia Devine
Yes.
00:18:21
Natalie Richards
Like, but I, it did nothing.
00:18:22
Felicia Devine
Yes.
00:18:25
Natalie Richards
Like I was like,
00:18:26
Felicia Devine
I don't think it enhanced me at all.
00:18:28
Natalie Richards
It did not. No, I sometimes I'll notice a little bit of like a mental clarity. That's as far as it ever goes.
00:18:33
Felicia Devine
Oh, I have not gotten there.
00:18:34
Natalie Richards
so
00:18:35
Felicia Devine
I've, I've, my headache.
00:18:35
Natalie Richards
yeah Because you're distracted by your nausea.
00:18:40
Natalie Richards
The mental clarity has not come yeah
00:18:41
Felicia Devine
No, no, I have too much pain to have mental clarity.
00:18:45
Natalie Richards
Oh my God.
00:18:46
Felicia Devine
But yeah, Dan was like, I am not, I'm not starting it on a work day. And I'm like, Dan, don't be silly. and i get it now.
00:18:52
Natalie Richards
<unk> i know, I know.
00:18:53
Felicia Devine
Like you don't want to show up at work and then have like nausea or a headache.
00:18:57
Natalie Richards
No, no.
00:18:58
Felicia Devine
I mean, he, he does pretty significant work and you don't want to be messing that up.
00:19:01
Natalie Richards
Yeah. I, after like, yeah, after like the first month of me doing it, i I don't do it every day anymore at all.
00:19:04
Felicia Devine
So he started on a Friday.
00:19:08
Felicia Devine
Yeah. Yeah.
00:19:11
Natalie Richards
Just because I don't think you need to after you, after you build it up in your system to the point that you are killing some stuff off.
00:19:11
Felicia Devine
man
00:19:13
Felicia Devine
Yeah.
00:19:19
Natalie Richards
yeah I don't think you have to do it every day until you exit.
00:19:22
Felicia Devine
I can't even build it up. That's my problem.
00:19:23
Natalie Richards
Well, that's right. Once you get there, you will.
00:19:26
Felicia Devine
Yeah.
00:19:26
Natalie Richards
But now if I, I pretty much only will put a patch on if I'm working or I'll do a gum like throughout the day if I'm working or if I have, like a podcast to record or something where you want you want to just be sharper a little bit.
00:19:38
Felicia Devine
the
00:19:41
Natalie Richards
And it's not even noticeable.
00:19:42
Felicia Devine
Okay.
00:19:44
Natalie Richards
It's just a little. But I notice like my day is really nice. Like I have great conversations.
00:19:48
Felicia Devine
Mm-hmm.
00:19:50
Natalie Richards
um I'm like laughing and having a good time and not feeling bogged down by the energy of all my patients by the end of the day.
00:19:56
Felicia Devine
Mm-hmm.
00:19:57
Natalie Richards
And my hands don't hurt.
00:19:59
Felicia Devine
Yeah.
00:19:59
Natalie Richards
so So I notice a big, big difference from that.
00:20:00
Felicia Devine
Wait.
00:20:04
Felicia Devine
Have you ever heard of feel-free's? Like, feel-free is it it's a tincture.
00:20:07
Natalie Richards
No.
00:20:10
Natalie Richards
Oh, no.
00:20:11
Felicia Devine
And

Exploring Feel-Free Tincture and Mocktail Alternatives

00:20:13
Felicia Devine
it has a root in it. casop no Cassava root? That could not be right. I could be wrong.
00:20:18
Natalie Richards
I don't know. Cassava is just like chips.
00:20:21
Felicia Devine
Right? I'm like, wait, that's a flower. oh kava.
00:20:24
Natalie Richards
No, it's a root. Cava.
00:20:26
Felicia Devine
Kava root.
00:20:26
Natalie Richards
Cava, cava, yeah.
00:20:27
Felicia Devine
Have you heard of kava?
00:20:28
Natalie Richards
I've heard of cava. It's kind of like a buzz, but but that gives you more of like a actual buzz.
00:20:29
Felicia Devine
Okay. So I was Oh no. It's like, it's like, I cannot do that if I'm working like, no, it's,
00:20:39
Natalie Richards
Oh God, no. It's like an alcohol substitute.
00:20:43
Felicia Devine
Yes. Yes.
00:20:44
Natalie Richards
Yeah, no.
00:20:44
Felicia Devine
So i started taking them. It was prior to getting pregnant. So like this, I have not taken i haven't tried the kava root while pregnant, obviously, or breastfeeding because it is very significant.
00:20:49
Natalie Richards
Yeah.
00:20:56
Felicia Devine
But this feel free tincture, you drink half the the vial.
00:20:57
Natalie Richards
Yeah.
00:21:01
Felicia Devine
it's probably You're probably drinking an ounce, less than an ounce, half an ounce.
00:21:04
Natalie Richards
Yeah.
00:21:06
Felicia Devine
And it is immediate, like you're on drugs. I don't do drugs.
00:21:11
Natalie Richards
Oh my God.
00:21:12
Felicia Devine
I've never dabbled in drugs.
00:21:14
Natalie Richards
Oh my God.
00:21:14
Felicia Devine
But from reviews I was reading, they say it's a combination of what feels like Adderall and painkillers mixed together.
00:21:24
Natalie Richards
Oh goodness. I don't think I would like that.
00:21:26
Felicia Devine
Oh, Natalie, ivy come no I become the most efficient, productive, social, confrontational.
00:21:27
Natalie Richards
don't want anything to do with that. Okay.
00:21:36
Natalie Richards
Okay.
00:21:36
Felicia Devine
ah Like i used to, well, I used to take them a little bit before i went to ladies golf league on Tuesdays.
00:21:38
Natalie Richards
Okay.
00:21:43
Natalie Richards
ah That's why your videos were so funny.
00:21:45
Felicia Devine
I would, was so vibrant. I was like, i had no filter, but I would nail out like six to 10 emails for work.
00:21:54
Natalie Richards
Oh, I love that.
00:21:55
Felicia Devine
I would do my videos before I went to golf. I would golf. I would have so much fun. I'd be so social, which typically if I'm in a social setting, I'm like a little bit more nervous until I'm like good friends, good friends with them.
00:22:05
Natalie Richards
Reserved. Yeah. and Yeah. Yeah.
00:22:08
Felicia Devine
But it was like from the jump, I was literally like, oh, so social.
00:22:09
Natalie Richards
Wow.
00:22:12
Felicia Devine
And I was like, you know, chatting. And then I met somebody who works for my payroll company.
00:22:16
Natalie Richards
Oh God.
00:22:17
Felicia Devine
And I literally was like, I have a bone to pick it with you. Day one meeting her.
00:22:20
Natalie Richards
Stop it.
00:22:22
Felicia Devine
I'm sorry. She doesn't own the company, but I was like, I was like, I hate your time clock system, which is so not like me.
00:22:24
Natalie Richards
Right.
00:22:31
Felicia Devine
And I, yes, like unfiltered.
00:22:31
Natalie Richards
Okay. That's like me on alcohol and I don't need to do that.
00:22:35
Felicia Devine
i know. So anyway, yeah.
00:22:36
Natalie Richards
Yeah. Just zero, zero shame. Like I will say anything to anyone and then I'm like, Oh, I'm so sorry.
00:22:41
Felicia Devine
Yes. Ooh. Yeah. i shouldn't have said that.
00:22:45
Natalie Richards
So sorry.
00:22:46
Felicia Devine
So I haven't dabbled into the feel free postpartum mainly because it really is like an immediate, well, like knock you out.
00:22:49
Natalie Richards
Okay.
00:22:54
Natalie Richards
Oh my God. Did I tell you I don't, did I tell you I don't drink anymore?
00:22:55
Felicia Devine
It's kind of fun though.
00:22:58
Felicia Devine
No.
00:22:59
Natalie Richards
don't think I told you that.
00:23:01
Felicia Devine
When did you stop drinking?
00:23:01
Natalie Richards
I really like, this is because of part of my detox journey.
00:23:05
Felicia Devine
Oh, I was going to say, did you put your foot in your mouth?
00:23:07
Natalie Richards
Oh, no. Well, that, okay. that i I had a couple glasses of wine after being off alcohol. And then I did put my foot in my mouth and I was like, this is why i can't do this.
00:23:15
Felicia Devine
Mm-hmm.
00:23:19
Felicia Devine
Yeah.
00:23:19
Natalie Richards
Because I'm like, I would have said this. I would have said that thing if I was, it wasn't false.
00:23:24
Felicia Devine
It wasn't false.
00:23:26
Natalie Richards
I would have said it anyway. But I would have delivered it differently.
00:23:32
Felicia Devine
You would have been a little softer.
00:23:34
Natalie Richards
I would have been softer. Anyway, yeah.
00:23:37
Felicia Devine
I didn't know this.
00:23:37
Natalie Richards
So I'm, yeah.
00:23:38
Felicia Devine
Wait, when did you stop alcohol?
00:23:39
Natalie Richards
Oh man. i think it's been since since April, maybe March.
00:23:46
Felicia Devine
Okay. Okay.
00:23:50
Felicia Devine
Do you feel, you feel better?
00:23:50
Natalie Richards
I can't remember.
00:23:51
Felicia Devine
I mean, i haven't really been a drinker, obviously pregnant or postpartum.
00:23:52
Natalie Richards
i
00:23:55
Natalie Richards
i definitely notice the difference like in my stomach for sure.
00:24:00
Felicia Devine
Yeah.
00:24:01
Natalie Richards
just like the the swelling for sure.
00:24:03
Felicia Devine
ah ha
00:24:04
Natalie Richards
But otherwise, no, not really. So then sometimes I'm like, oh, maybe I'll have and a drink, but then it's dumb.
00:24:09
Felicia Devine
Like maybe that wasn't the problem.
00:24:10
Natalie Richards
Then I'm like, and honestly, I didn't drink much before. i was drinking maybe like one time a month anyway, but it would be like, oh I'll just have like one drink here.
00:24:14
Felicia Devine
Right. Yeah. Yeah.
00:24:19
Natalie Richards
And then like maybe two drinks over here. Meanwhile, alcohol does nothing to me anyway, unless I'm drinking like
00:24:24
Felicia Devine
Right. Heavily.
00:24:27
Natalie Richards
Hopious amounts.
00:24:28
Felicia Devine
Yeah.
00:24:29
Natalie Richards
So then it's like, if I really want to drink, I'll drink. but
00:24:32
Felicia Devine
Right.
00:24:33
Natalie Richards
I have to know that I'm drink going toing to drink a lot of a lot of drinks because it just doesn't do anything to me.
00:24:33
Felicia Devine
Right.
00:24:37
Felicia Devine
Yeah. Yeah.
00:24:40
Natalie Richards
um
00:24:40
Felicia Devine
I've been, I've been staying away from it too.
00:24:41
Natalie Richards
So I kind of just said I'm not doing I'm just I'm like, I'm not doing it. It's not worth it. It's not worth like one or two here because it's doing nothing to me. I could drink a mocktail and have the same feeling after.
00:24:49
Felicia Devine
Right.
00:24:52
Felicia Devine
Right.
00:24:52
Natalie Richards
So I'm like, whatever.
00:24:53
Felicia Devine
Yeah.
00:24:53
Natalie Richards
I don't care. I don't care enough.
00:24:55
Felicia Devine
I've been really dabbling into mocktails and like herbal tinctures that go with it or like nootropics, ashwagandha, those kinds of things because I find that that's a ah way more fun.
00:25:00
Natalie Richards
Yes.
00:25:03
Natalie Richards
Yes.
00:25:09
Natalie Richards
Way more fun.
00:25:09
Felicia Devine
It honestly costs the same. Like people are always a little skeptical of like, oh, how much do those costs?
00:25:11
Natalie Richards
Yes. Yeah. but
00:25:15
Natalie Richards
Yeah.
00:25:15
Felicia Devine
Or like what what are you spending on all these like items that you're putting in your drink?
00:25:19
Felicia Devine
But if you like are into drinking, you don't even question how much a bottle of wine costs.
00:25:24
Natalie Richards
I know the money is
00:25:27
Felicia Devine
Like people are spending like 30 plus bucks on a bottle of wine and this tincture costs you $18.
00:25:28
Natalie Richards
absurd
00:25:33
Natalie Richards
Yes.
00:25:33
Felicia Devine
Like it I don't know.
00:25:34
Natalie Richards
Being $18 for a cock one cocktail.
00:25:37
Felicia Devine
Right. Right.
00:25:38
Natalie Richards
Like, no.
00:25:39
Felicia Devine
Yeah.
00:25:39
Natalie Richards
um It's crazy.
00:25:40
Felicia Devine
Yeah. Yeah.
00:25:42
Natalie Richards
I'm not doing it.
00:25:42
Felicia Devine
So I've, I've been dabbling in that like more consistently postpartum because I, well, we're still nursing at night.
00:25:48
Natalie Richards
Yeah.
00:25:50
Felicia Devine
So I still wake up in the middle of the night to nurse.
00:25:51
Natalie Richards
Yeah.
00:25:52
Felicia Devine
We only slept through the night three weeks since he's been born.
00:25:55
Natalie Richards
that
00:25:55
Felicia Devine
and it's
00:25:55
Natalie Richards
That's how, okay, that's how Jean was too. And you know what? I think this sleeping through the night thing is just a bunch of baloney.
00:25:59
Felicia Devine
Yeah. it's over
00:26:04
Natalie Richards
And also if you're nursing, like he'll go right back to sleep.
00:26:07
Natalie Richards
It's not a big deal. Okay.
00:26:07
Felicia Devine
Yeah.
00:26:08
Felicia Devine
Right.
00:26:08
Natalie Richards
So he woke up, he needed you and you nursed him.
00:26:10
Felicia Devine
Yeah. Right.
00:26:12
Natalie Richards
Who cares?
00:26:13
Felicia Devine
i know. I really am so used to at this point that it it really doesn't affect because I track my sleep score.
00:26:16
Natalie Richards
you
00:26:19
Natalie Richards
Yeah. No, when I was waking up 10 times a night, it wasn't affecting my sleep score.
00:26:19
Felicia Devine
It really doesn't even affect my sleep score.
00:26:21
Felicia Devine
I get up. I nurse him. Put him back. yeah
00:26:25
Natalie Richards
i was like, what the hell is this?
00:26:27
Felicia Devine
Yeah.
00:26:27
Natalie Richards
Because you still get into deep sleep.
00:26:30
Felicia Devine
Right.
00:26:30
Natalie Richards
That's the benefit of a breastfeeding mother's brain is that you have the ability to do that.
00:26:33
Felicia Devine
Yeah. So
00:26:36
Felicia Devine
Yeah. And I find that alcohol would, even if I had one drink, it would make me more groggy when I was waking up to nurse him.
00:26:45
Natalie Richards
Yes.
00:26:47
Felicia Devine
And I just didn't feel as good, as confident, as aware.
00:26:51
Natalie Richards
Yes.
00:26:51
Felicia Devine
um And I've never, you know, fallen asleep with him unsafely.
00:26:55
Natalie Richards
Yeah. Yeah.
00:26:56
Felicia Devine
yeah. We don't co-sleep, and we did at the beginning, but we don't currently, so that wasn't really a concern.
00:26:58
Natalie Richards
No, right.
00:27:02
Felicia Devine
But it was like I didn't want to wake up to go nurse him and feel like a buzz.
00:27:03
Natalie Richards
Yeah.
00:27:06
Natalie Richards
Like you're still asleep and then you're right.
00:27:08
Felicia Devine
Yeah.
00:27:08
Natalie Richards
Yeah.
00:27:09
Felicia Devine
So I've really stayed pretty far away from alcohol my whole postpartum. I just started getting into a few more drinks here and there in the past couple weeks because it's like pool season.
00:27:18
Natalie Richards
I know that's the thing.
00:27:20
Felicia Devine
But I try and drink them during the day and not even like I won't have drinks after dinner.
00:27:24
Natalie Richards
No.
00:27:25
Felicia Devine
Like I'll have like one or two drinks in the pool before dinner.
00:27:29
Natalie Richards
Yeah.
00:27:29
Felicia Devine
And then after that, I don't. And then that way when I'm waking up in the middle of the night, like I don't have anything in my system.
00:27:34
Natalie Richards
Yeah.
00:27:36
Felicia Devine
I don't feel any bit away. But yeah.
00:27:38
Natalie Richards
I think that's great. Yeah. I'm kind of just like, I don't know.
00:27:40
Felicia Devine
um
00:27:42
Natalie Richards
It's not worth it.
00:27:43
Felicia Devine
Yeah. And it's like it's seat it's a season. Maybe when we go to Park City for our ski trip
00:27:45
Natalie Richards
Yeah. Yeah. Then who knows?
00:27:49
Felicia Devine
We'll like take the training wheels off. But right now I don't need to be having a glass of wine by myself on a Tuesday night.
00:27:51
Natalie Richards
That's right. Yeah.
00:27:54
Natalie Richards
On a, yes, on a normal old day it's not worth it to me.
00:27:58
Felicia Devine
Yeah.
00:27:59
Natalie Richards
If, and my whole thing is like, if I feel that compelled to drink something, i will, you know, like if I want it that bad, fine, ah'll I'll drink something.
00:27:59
Felicia Devine
Yeah.
00:28:05
Felicia Devine
Right.
00:28:08
Felicia Devine
Right.
00:28:09
Natalie Richards
Or like if I'm with friends and I really think it would benefit my, my experience in that situation, then fine.
00:28:10
Felicia Devine
Yeah.
00:28:16
Natalie Richards
If everybody's just like giggly bubbly and I'm sitting there like, okay, okay.
00:28:17
Felicia Devine
Mm-hmm.
00:28:22
Felicia Devine
queer
00:28:23
Natalie Richards
Not that it's like a peer pressure thing, but sometimes it is just kind of fun to have a few glasses of wine and and and just like have fun.
00:28:25
Felicia Devine
Right, right.
00:28:29
Felicia Devine
ah
00:28:31
Felicia Devine
Right.
00:28:32
Natalie Richards
So I'm okay with it.
00:28:33
Felicia Devine
and no
00:28:34
Natalie Richards
I'm just for the most part not doing it.
00:28:35
Felicia Devine
Staying away from it for now.
00:28:37
Natalie Richards
Yeah.
00:28:37
Felicia Devine
Yeah, yeah.
00:28:38
Natalie Richards
Because it's not serving my my detox journey either.

Benefits of Infrared Saunas

00:28:42
Felicia Devine
Let's get into a little bit about the detoxing with infrared saunas because you and i both have infrared saunas in our chiropractic practices.
00:28:47
Natalie Richards
Okay.
00:28:50
Natalie Richards
Yes.
00:28:51
Felicia Devine
um And we both have had them since the day we opened.
00:28:54
Natalie Richards
Yes.
00:28:55
Felicia Devine
i absolutely live and breathe infrared sauna detoxing. I live and breathe infrared sauna everything.
00:29:00
Natalie Richards
Yes.
00:29:03
Felicia Devine
um
00:29:03
Natalie Richards
Sweat in general.
00:29:04
Felicia Devine
We have the same yeah.
00:29:06
Natalie Richards
I mean, you just have to.
00:29:08
Felicia Devine
Yeah. And we have the same brand. We have the same model. We have the same everything when it comes to the sauna. So we have very shared similar experiences.
00:29:15
Natalie Richards
huh
00:29:15
Felicia Devine
um Talk to us ah about what your take is on an infrared sauna. I know you've been into it long. You introduced me to infrared sauna chiropractic school.
00:29:23
Natalie Richards
Yeah.
00:29:26
Natalie Richards
Yes, we did. We went to that place.
00:29:27
Felicia Devine
We went to the same. We like literally sat in the smallest sauna, in the tiniest little sauna together. And we were doing like air squats.
00:29:33
Natalie Richards
And we were like, how many more minutes do we have? Like, yeah, we were, oh my God, we'd go in there and we were psychos.
00:29:39
Felicia Devine
We were trying to maximize every second in there.
00:29:39
Natalie Richards
We,
00:29:42
Felicia Devine
And then they had like electrolyte packets and sprays and we were drinking the most.
00:29:46
Natalie Richards
oh my God, that was so funny.
00:29:48
Felicia Devine
We're, yeah, every every bang for a buck.
00:29:48
Natalie Richards
Yes.
00:29:50
Felicia Devine
But anyway, okay, so tell us a little bit about like infrared saunas.
00:29:51
Natalie Richards
That's hilarious. So infrared sauna, my background with knowing what it's about is that my mom and my brother both had Lyme disease. They were going through, my mom did a pretty significant life change.
00:30:05
Natalie Richards
She was already really healthy terms of like,
00:30:08
Felicia Devine
Mm-hmm.
00:30:09
Natalie Richards
Just she was crunchy growing up for sure.
00:30:11
Felicia Devine
Yeah.
00:30:11
Natalie Richards
But then when when that came to be in our lives, we were like no eggs, no dairy, no like she was eating like copious amounts of greens and just like it was she had to be really, really diligent with all that stuff. So she was doing lymphatic massages. She was doing.
00:30:32
Natalie Richards
ah infrared all the time just to sweat.
00:30:35
Felicia Devine
Mm-hmm.
00:30:36
Natalie Richards
and she was doing detox baths and all of this stuff. So that that brought it to my attention. I had never heard of it before. this was probably, think I was in junior high or high school probably.
00:30:49
Felicia Devine
ah
00:30:49
Natalie Richards
And I was kind of coming into the idea of like, oh, I think I might be a chiropractor, might be some like sort of wellness practitioner whatever. um So it was kind of on my radar. I was like, this is really cool. I didn't know anything about the infrared sauna.
00:31:04
Natalie Richards
um And what, at least at the time, it was, she was doing this like tiny little capsule that she had to go in for 45 minutes.
00:31:16
Natalie Richards
And she was, she was so blocked up at that time that she'd go in there for 40 minutes and not sweat a drop.
00:31:17
Felicia Devine
Those early day saunas.
00:31:24
Natalie Richards
So her Yeah.
00:31:24
Felicia Devine
So, to okay, let's get into that because people don't realize you have to sweat in the sauna for it to like really be your pathways to be open.
00:31:30
Natalie Richards
You have to. Yes. So you either have to make sure you are so hydrated.
00:31:37
Natalie Richards
You have to move maybe a little bit right before you get in the sauna. Like if you're not sweating in the sauna, like there's something there's something majorly blocked in your system.
00:31:37
Felicia Devine
Mm-hmm.
00:31:40
Felicia Devine
Mm-hmm.
00:31:46
Felicia Devine
Yeah, so a sign of or sweating is a sign that you actually are detoxing.
00:31:50
Natalie Richards
Yes.
00:31:51
Felicia Devine
Yeah.
00:31:51
Natalie Richards
So you have to have that.
00:31:51
Felicia Devine
And the sooner you sweat, the better. Mm-hmm.
00:31:53
Natalie Richards
Yes. So like within, I always tell people within 10 or 15 minutes, you need to have some drips coming down your body.
00:31:59
Felicia Devine
Mm-hmm.
00:31:59
Natalie Richards
Otherwise you're blocked and you need to do it much more often.
00:31:59
Felicia Devine
Mm-hmm.
00:32:02
Felicia Devine
Yeah.
00:32:02
Natalie Richards
And for not necessarily for a longer time, because if you're really, really blocked and you go in there for 45 minutes, that could be a, that could be a problem.
00:32:03
Felicia Devine
Mm-hmm.
00:32:10
Felicia Devine
And you don't sweat? Yeah.
00:32:12
Natalie Richards
like You could, you could definitely have some symptoms from that.
00:32:12
Felicia Devine
Yeah.
00:32:15
Felicia Devine
Mm-hmm.
00:32:15
Natalie Richards
um So you really need to, need to go in there, sweat within 10 minutes, ideally, or at least start to glisten in 10 minutes, but something should be happening.
00:32:27
Natalie Richards
um Because typically with infrared saunas, they're not getting as hot as a traditional like dry finish sauna or something like that.
00:32:36
Felicia Devine
and
00:32:36
Natalie Richards
So you're you're not you're not sweating as much from like a ah surface heat. You're sweating more from the infrared light spectrum going deep into your tissues and expelling things.
00:32:51
Felicia Devine
I like to tell people it's creating a fever inside your body.
00:32:51
Natalie Richards
So you... Correct.
00:32:55
Natalie Richards
Like it's raising your core temperature.
00:32:55
Felicia Devine
Like your body is getting hot.
00:32:57
Felicia Devine
Yeah, your body is getting hot, not necessarily the air that you're breathing in the sauna or the air that's touching your skin.
00:32:57
Natalie Richards
Yes.
00:33:02
Natalie Richards
Yes.
00:33:03
Felicia Devine
Like it is palpably warmer inside the sauna, but you should be generating like an internal fever that is killing off the
00:33:05
Natalie Richards
It's warm. Yeah.
00:33:10
Natalie Richards
Right.
00:33:12
Felicia Devine
Bacterias, molds, viruses, um cells that aren't serving you, um and like heavy metals, like medications that are you know blocked up.
00:33:13
Natalie Richards
Yes.
00:33:18
Natalie Richards
Yes.
00:33:21
Natalie Richards
and Yep.
00:33:25
Natalie Richards
Yep.
00:33:26
Felicia Devine
And you should be expelling them through your sweat, but you're also expelling them into your urine.
00:33:32
Natalie Richards
Mm-hmm.
00:33:32
Felicia Devine
You're expelling it into your like lymphatic system.
00:33:36
Natalie Richards
Yeah, yeah.
00:33:37
Felicia Devine
um And so it's it's expelling and detoxing in all the pathways, which is really cool because it is one of those heavy hitters.
00:33:46
Natalie Richards
Yes. And I know we had talked about, ah we had talked about if you can do them, you definitely can't do a sauna when you're pregnant.
00:33:47
Felicia Devine
Yeah.
00:33:52
Felicia Devine
Oh, yeah. No, I don't.
00:33:54
Natalie Richards
That's kind of like a, I don't recommend it.
00:33:55
Felicia Devine
I don't recommend it. Because it's raising your core temperature, and therefore it can raise your fetal temperature.
00:33:58
Natalie Richards
Yes.
00:34:01
Natalie Richards
Yes, we just, it's no it's not worth it.
00:34:01
Felicia Devine
And we just don't we don't want the responsibility of that. No. No.
00:34:07
Natalie Richards
But I have changed my tune with breastfeeding and infrared.
00:34:10
Felicia Devine
Okay.
00:34:12
Natalie Richards
i personally, when I was breastfeeding, I didn't do it. And I actually look back and I was like, gosh, darn it.
00:34:16
Felicia Devine
yeah
00:34:17
Natalie Richards
I wish I would have, because you know what? I needed to detox and I would have had, know.
00:34:22
Felicia Devine
But what ah about the breast milk? Because I'm not currently sauna-ing and I don't recommend my nursing moms do.
00:34:26
Natalie Richards
i know So you wouldn't want to you wouldn't want to breastfeed like within an hour after saunaing.
00:34:33
Felicia Devine
Okay. Okay.
00:34:34
Natalie Richards
That's for sure. Because that's when anything in your bloodstream is going to be a little bit higher.
00:34:39
Felicia Devine
Yeah.
00:34:40
Natalie Richards
How you can hack it is you can take activated charcoal and zeolite before.
00:34:43
Felicia Devine
I tell patients that. Mm-hmm.
00:34:46
Natalie Richards
You'd want to take the charcoal right before you go in the sauna.
00:34:47
Felicia Devine
Mm-hmm.
00:34:48
Natalie Richards
And then really anything that you're getting out should be should be absorbed by the charcoal and will be eliminated.
00:34:52
Felicia Devine
hey
00:34:54
Felicia Devine
Okay. Yeah.
00:34:57
Natalie Richards
But to be safe, just give yourself an hour or two before breastfeeding.
00:35:00
Felicia Devine
Okay.
00:35:01
Natalie Richards
So like if you're if you have a newborn, you' first of all, for stress purposes, you don't need to be sweating.
00:35:01
Felicia Devine
Yeah.
00:35:06
Felicia Devine
Don't be sorry. No, no, no.
00:35:07
Natalie Richards
okay like You don't need to do that. We're talking like down the road, six, eight, 10 months down the road of breastfeeding.
00:35:14
Felicia Devine
Yeah.
00:35:15
Natalie Richards
You've got your your system. You've got your timing figured out.
00:35:17
Felicia Devine
You have your supply. You have,
00:35:19
Natalie Richards
like you're not goingnna if you you You also have to make sure you're staying hydrated.
00:35:19
Felicia Devine
Yeah.
00:35:24
Felicia Devine
Mm-hmm.
00:35:24
Natalie Richards
So if you're not hydrating, your supply will drop if you start doing sauna. So it's a very individualized situation, I think.
00:35:31
Felicia Devine
Mm-hmm.
00:35:31
Natalie Richards
But if you really feel the need and you really feel like sweating is going to be good for you and you feel like your body can handle it, keep yourself hydrated, do the charcoal, charcoal and zeolite, I would say the combination. and And then, and then you should be okay.
00:35:48
Natalie Richards
And especially if like for you, if you're only breastfeeding at night, i don't see any issue.
00:35:49
Felicia Devine
I...
00:35:52
Felicia Devine
Yeah. Well, I, no, I breastfeed. I breastfeed all day long.
00:35:54
Natalie Richards
Oh, you're breastfeeding all day. Okay.
00:35:55
Felicia Devine
ah
00:35:56
Natalie Richards
I'm just curious all day.
00:35:56
Felicia Devine
Oh, we breastfeed all the time.
00:35:58
Natalie Richards
Okay.
00:36:01
Natalie Richards
There is, i i truly do believe that there's
00:36:03
Felicia Devine
Which I can get an hour that I'm not nurse. Like i treat that's a joke.
00:36:06
Natalie Richards
For sure.
00:36:07
Natalie Richards
For sure. Like du you're gonna, there would be a moment in time where you could say, okay, I'll wait a couple more hours. Like, sorry, Sep, you can hold, you can hold off for a second.
00:36:07
Felicia Devine
I'm not attached, but yes.
00:36:14
Felicia Devine
Yes. Yes. You can hold off. Yeah. You can have a snack.
00:36:17
Natalie Richards
Right. So like probably smart thing, like ah after about 10, 12 months, I think you could very safely breastfeed and sauna.
00:36:26
Felicia Devine
Okay. Then I might try that.
00:36:27
Natalie Richards
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
00:36:29
Felicia Devine
Let me try that.
00:36:29
Natalie Richards
Just be, just be, it's kind of the same thing as like drinking alcohol when you're breastfeeding, like the levels are going to raise about an, you know, about an hour after drinking.
00:36:33
Felicia Devine
Yeah. Right.
00:36:39
Natalie Richards
And then you don't, you wouldn't want to be breastfeeding at that time. So yeah.
00:36:44
Felicia Devine
So you mentioned zeolite. Yeah.
00:36:46
Natalie Richards
Right.
00:36:46
Felicia Devine
Now, i have a lot of patients that are like, oh, how do I detox my kid?

Gentle Detox Methods for Kids

00:36:52
Felicia Devine
And I'm always like, ooh, because you're not going to give your two-year-old a coffee enema.
00:36:52
Natalie Richards
Right.
00:36:57
Natalie Richards
Right.
00:36:57
Felicia Devine
You're not going to stick your two-year-old in an infrared sauna.
00:36:59
Natalie Richards
Right.
00:37:00
Felicia Devine
So zeolite is something that I do recommend for my littles in the office and it's tasteless.
00:37:04
Natalie Richards
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
00:37:09
Felicia Devine
It's like not a fight to get them to take.
00:37:09
Natalie Richards
Yep.
00:37:11
Felicia Devine
It's a spray in the mouth.
00:37:11
Natalie Richards
Yep. It's pretty easy.
00:37:13
Felicia Devine
Um, I've never taken it. So what is your experience? Like what, what do you usually tell people?
00:37:17
Natalie Richards
i so i have yeah So that one's one that I have recently become a little more familiar with. So before, have you heard of BioRay?
00:37:24
Felicia Devine
Okay.
00:37:27
Natalie Richards
The BioRay tinctures and stuff for kids.
00:37:28
Felicia Devine
Yeah. Yeah. Mm-hmm.
00:37:30
Natalie Richards
That's typically what I would recommend for most kids just because it's a kids formulated version of herbs that...
00:37:36
Felicia Devine
yeah
00:37:37
Natalie Richards
that really help. I think they have a zeolite version too. I think one of their, one of their kids ones has, has it in it, but it, the whole purpose of it is as you're killing stuff off, then you take the zeolite to absorb.
00:37:40
Felicia Devine
Oh.
00:37:44
Felicia Devine
Mm-hmm.
00:37:48
Felicia Devine
Mm-hmm.
00:37:52
Natalie Richards
It's the same idea as activated charcoal. It's like the same, the same thing, basically.
00:37:54
Felicia Devine
Okay. So is zeolite not actually killing off anything?
00:37:58
Natalie Richards
i my understanding is that it's not killing anything.
00:38:02
Felicia Devine
It's just absorbing.
00:38:02
Natalie Richards
So you, You are better off doing it with herbs that will kill and then do the zeolite, which absorbs and helps you eliminate.
00:38:04
Felicia Devine
Which...
00:38:11
Felicia Devine
Okay, but it could also like if you're just taking zeolite for your kid because you think they might be like inundated with something, it could slowly be just kind of taking it out of their system and not aggressively ah detoxing.
00:38:21
Natalie Richards
Definitely, definitely. Because their bodies are so good at detoxing anyway, that yes, you can, yes, so fast.
00:38:27
Felicia Devine
A kid can detox like that. Yeah. Yeah.
00:38:29
Natalie Richards
So you can absolutely, like if you just do zeolite for a kid, totally, like they, it will slowly, yeah it's gentle.
00:38:33
Felicia Devine
Yeah. And that's why I think it's so recommended because it's so gentle. Yeah. Yeah.
00:38:38
Natalie Richards
um For adults, it's different. Like you wouldn't be able to just take zeolite or activated charcoal and have it make a meaningful difference if you're not also doing,
00:38:41
Felicia Devine
Okay.
00:38:46
Felicia Devine
Unless you're doing something else. Okay.
00:38:49
Natalie Richards
sauna or killing things off. Yeah. So right now I just started doing two weeks ago, think I'm doing a stealth pathogen protocol, which is basically, it's like an herbal, it's, it's biocidin or biocidin is the brand.
00:38:57
Felicia Devine
What's that That sounds sneaky.
00:39:03
Felicia Devine
Yeah.
00:39:03
Natalie Richards
And And it's a herbal blend of all this stuff. They have a throat spray too, which I love for for sickness.
00:39:10
Felicia Devine
Oh.
00:39:10
Natalie Richards
And that one's more just like you use it as needed.
00:39:13
Felicia Devine
Mm-hmm.
00:39:13
Natalie Richards
But the the cleanse is 30 day kill off of whatever bugs are in your system.
00:39:19
Felicia Devine
Whoa. Stealth pathogen.
00:39:22
Natalie Richards
That's what it's called. Like a stealth pathogen is kind of like Lyme, Epstein-Barr, Parasites,
00:39:25
Felicia Devine
ah Yeah. Something that's really, like, sneaky.
00:39:29
Natalie Richards
Yeah, like the things that stick in your system and cause symptoms for a long time, that's what you're talking about.
00:39:29
Felicia Devine
Yeah.
00:39:32
Felicia Devine
Yeah. Mm-hmm.
00:39:34
Natalie Richards
So with those, you have to be you have to be diligent, you have to be strong, and you have to like you have to work things up in order to to kill it.
00:39:39
Felicia Devine
Yeah. Yeah.
00:39:45
Felicia Devine
I was going to say, that sounds like you could really have those detox symptoms.
00:39:49
Natalie Richards
you what you could. So the first couple days I noticed, but then i i again, I was eliminating really well.
00:39:51
Felicia Devine
Now, yeah.
00:39:56
Natalie Richards
So I really didn't notice much.
00:39:56
Felicia Devine
Okay.
00:39:58
Natalie Richards
I noticed like a little bit of a headache, maybe the first day, my body definitely tightened the first day that I was taking it, but that was about it.
00:40:04
Felicia Devine
Mm-hmm.
00:40:07
Natalie Richards
And I only had one day. So that was good. So I've been on it for two weeks. So there's a three-step system. So it's the tincture has
00:40:14
Felicia Devine
Mm-hmm.
00:40:17
Natalie Richards
wormwood and black walnut and echinacea and oregano and like all this stuff altogether. um you do that twice a day and then you do zeolite charcoal blend and then you do spore probiotic, which I tend to recommend those to people.
00:40:28
Felicia Devine
Oh. yeah Yeah. You got me on a spore probiotic when I was pregnant.
00:40:34
Natalie Richards
Yeah. Yeah. That one's like first and foremost, like if you have any gut issues, you have to start with a spore probiotic before you move on to the fermentable bacteria.
00:40:42
Felicia Devine
Mm-hmm.
00:40:45
Felicia Devine
Mm-hmm.
00:40:46
Natalie Richards
So, but there's so many people have these problems. And when I do the muscle testing in my office and I'm figuring out the priority body system the
00:40:56
Felicia Devine
Yeah, it's mostly liver.
00:40:57
Natalie Richards
in people who come in with whatever their symptoms are, it could be skin issues, could be gut issues, could be anxiety, depression, whatever.
00:40:58
Felicia Devine
Mm-hmm.
00:41:05
Natalie Richards
Almost always we have to address detoxing the liver and gallbladder first, or at least make sure that you have the correct nutrients to absorb and digest your food or ah or work on stomach acid.
00:41:09
Felicia Devine
Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.
00:41:15
Felicia Devine
Yeah. Mm-hmm.
00:41:18
Natalie Richards
or but And a lot of times just dealing with like the liver gallbladder, tends to free up a lot of different things. So usually we're starting there and it depends on the person, but um but those people then would benefit from sauna and from vibration plate and from from ah castor oil packs and coffee enemas and all of these things.
00:41:27
Felicia Devine
Right.
00:41:39
Felicia Devine
Yeah.
00:41:42
Natalie Richards
And you kind of have to deal with it from a very, very diverse um perspective because you have to help your body in all the ways you can.
00:41:43
Felicia Devine
Right.
00:41:51
Felicia Devine
Yeah.
00:41:54
Natalie Richards
while you're going through it. Otherwise you will have symptoms.

Activated Charcoal and Detox Symptom Management

00:41:57
Felicia Devine
Yeah.
00:41:58
Natalie Richards
You'll have the Herxheimer reaction.
00:41:58
Felicia Devine
And the Herx, yeah, Herx reaction.
00:42:01
Natalie Richards
Yeah.
00:42:02
Natalie Richards
Yeah.
00:42:02
Felicia Devine
a lot of my Lyme or post-chemo or um like autoimmune patients, I'm always telling like you need to be taking charcoal when you're saunting.
00:42:11
Natalie Richards
You have, you have to,
00:42:11
Felicia Devine
Yeah. I think everyone can benefit from charcoal when they're sonning, but especially those patients that are eliminating very toxic environmental chemicals um from medications.
00:42:15
Natalie Richards
I think so too.
00:42:19
Natalie Richards
Yeah. Yep.
00:42:23
Natalie Richards
here Yep.
00:42:25
Felicia Devine
because you can get So the Hercz reaction is essentially flu-like symptoms from detoxing. So it's your body essentially re-reacting to these hormones.
00:42:30
Natalie Richards
Yep.
00:42:34
Natalie Richards
The things that your fat cells are letting go of.
00:42:37
Felicia Devine
Yeah, these like toxic constituents.
00:42:37
Natalie Richards
Yeah. Yeah.
00:42:39
Felicia Devine
um So you get like the headaches, the fever, body chills, um stomach aches, things like that.
00:42:43
Natalie Richards
Yeah.
00:42:45
Felicia Devine
And if you're able to take like a binder, like we said charcoal, um it basically it acts as a magnet and it just
00:42:49
Natalie Richards
Mm-hmm.
00:42:54
Natalie Richards
Mm-hmm. Yep.
00:42:56
Felicia Devine
catches all of those chemicals or all of those things.
00:42:58
Natalie Richards
Yep.
00:42:59
Felicia Devine
You know what else I tell patients?
00:43:00
Natalie Richards
Hmm.
00:43:01
Felicia Devine
If the stomach bug is going around your house, anybody you know, daycare, take charcoal, activated charcoal.
00:43:03
Natalie Richards
Hmm.
00:43:06
Natalie Richards
Charcoal. Absolutely. Yes.
00:43:08
Felicia Devine
And it will either eliminate symptoms really quickly or prevent you from actually getting symptoms in the first place.
00:43:14
Natalie Richards
Yes. 100%. Yep.
00:43:17
Felicia Devine
um
00:43:17
Natalie Richards
It's amazing.
00:43:18
Felicia Devine
Yeah. so always keep activated charcoal on hand.
00:43:18
Natalie Richards
One other tidbit. Yeah. One other tidbit specifically for pregnancy and postpartum is that
00:43:25
Felicia Devine
Mm-hmm.
00:43:25
Natalie Richards
What I have found with most of my patients, at least that I do testing on and myself and everybody I talk to, um the body is really good at holding on to toxins while you're pregnant and breastfeeding because it's not going to allow all of that to pass on to your baby.
00:43:39
Felicia Devine
Mm-hmm.
00:43:45
Felicia Devine
Mm-hmm.
00:43:45
Natalie Richards
So some things will pass through with breast milk, yes, but I think the body is also really, really good at holding back some of it
00:43:52
Felicia Devine
It's smart. Mm-hmm.
00:43:53
Natalie Richards
It's really smart. So however, that causes some crazy problems with liver and gallbladder post breastfeeding.
00:44:02
Felicia Devine
Yeah.
00:44:04
Natalie Richards
So I think it's something that every, every mom really needs to be conscious of because it, it causes so many problems down the road.
00:44:09
Felicia Devine
I
00:44:12
Natalie Richards
Like you will likely have a gallbladder attack. You will likely gain weight.
00:44:15
Felicia Devine
yeah i was going to say secondary infertility.
00:44:16
Natalie Richards
You will likely have hormonal problems five, 10 years later. Yes. yes
00:44:22
Felicia Devine
That probably has a large component due to the fact that your body has been protecting your fetus and your nursing baby, but therefore backing you up and making you turn to sludge.
00:44:25
Natalie Richards
Yes.
00:44:28
Natalie Richards
Yep. Yes. Yep.
00:44:33
Natalie Richards
Yep. And not allowing things. Yeah.
00:44:36
Natalie Richards
Yep. And then it's causing all kinds of Yeah, like the period issues in between in between kids, all of that stuff.
00:44:36
Felicia Devine
Yeah.
00:44:41
Felicia Devine
Mm-hmm.
00:44:44
Felicia Devine
Yeah.
00:44:44
Natalie Richards
It's a major, major problem. Our lives today are so much more toxic than they ever have been.
00:44:50
Felicia Devine
Mm-hmm.
00:44:50
Natalie Richards
and our bodies are just doing all they can.
00:44:53
Felicia Devine
The most.
00:44:53
Natalie Richards
yeah they're doing the most.
00:44:54
Felicia Devine
The most. We doing the most.
00:44:56
Natalie Richards
So they're really trying to keep your baby alive. And it's kind of like, well, that's the next generation.
00:44:59
Felicia Devine
Mm-hmm.
00:45:01
Natalie Richards
Like, I don't really care much about them. Like the mom can handle it.
00:45:05
Felicia Devine
We're taking time bomb.
00:45:06
Natalie Richards
Like whatever. We're we're we're already dying.
00:45:07
Felicia Devine
Yeah.
00:45:10
Felicia Devine
Yeah.
00:45:10
Natalie Richards
So,
00:45:11
Felicia Devine
Yeah. We're well on our way.
00:45:13
Natalie Richards
yeah. So that's protecting protecting the baby. So just keep that in mind.
00:45:16
Felicia Devine
Mm-hmm.
00:45:17
Natalie Richards
There's a lot of a lot of things that I see after breastfeeding.
00:45:22
Felicia Devine
Mm-hmm.
00:45:22
Natalie Richards
And I never really realized it until I went through it.
00:45:25
Felicia Devine
ah
00:45:25
Natalie Richards
And then I see it all the time now with most of my postpartum patients.
00:45:29
Felicia Devine
Yeah.
00:45:33
Natalie Richards
Most of the weird symptoms happen after breastfeeding stops. And you just don't think about that as a...
00:45:38
Felicia Devine
Oh no. So I'm never going to stop.
00:45:41
Natalie Richards
I think you will you will probably detox better after breastfeeding is done.
00:45:42
Felicia Devine
I'm never giving up.
00:45:46
Felicia Devine
You think?
00:45:46
Natalie Richards
But yeah to do gentle things while you're breastfeeding, I think is very helpful.
00:45:49
Felicia Devine
Yeah.
00:45:50
Natalie Richards
And I wish I would have done more.
00:45:51
Felicia Devine
Yeah. Okay.
00:45:52
Natalie Richards
Just even like, or even gentle herbs, you can do milk thistle, dandelion, all that stuff, artichoke while you're breastfeeding.
00:45:57
Felicia Devine
hey
00:46:00
Felicia Devine
Okay.
00:46:00
Natalie Richards
And I would, I would suggest it
00:46:02
Felicia Devine
Yeah. At Duck Art.
00:46:05
Natalie Richards
only because I wish I would, because I, as I was breastfeeding, I was like, I'm on top of the world.
00:46:09
Felicia Devine
Yeah.
00:46:11
Natalie Richards
I feel pretty good.
00:46:12
Felicia Devine
Yeah. Yeah.
00:46:13
Natalie Richards
Like I'm good. I never have to worry about it. And I was like, whoa, just kidding.
00:46:18
Felicia Devine
hey
00:46:19
Natalie Richards
So that's my two cents.
00:46:21
Felicia Devine
That's so fascinating. Yeah.

Comprehensive Detox Methods Recap

00:46:22
Natalie Richards
And i I just see it all the time. So, oh man, that was fun.
00:46:24
Felicia Devine
Yeah.
00:46:27
Felicia Devine
We could talk for days about detoxing.
00:46:29
Natalie Richards
we could.
00:46:29
Felicia Devine
I mean, we touched on probably 10 plus different ways of detoxing.
00:46:33
Natalie Richards
Most, yeah. Yeah.
00:46:35
Felicia Devine
Some being super gentle, some being as aggressive as nicotine. I'm calling it aggressive only because I have symptoms. It's not that aggressive.
00:46:43
Natalie Richards
Only because it's, yeah, it it doesn't have to be aggressive, but it can be.
00:46:45
Felicia Devine
It's not that aggressive. No.
00:46:47
Natalie Richards
A lot of people have the same reaction that you do.
00:46:47
Felicia Devine
Yeah.
00:46:50
Felicia Devine
Yeah.
00:46:50
Natalie Richards
I will say one other thing about nicotine. had a patient that I just quickly was like, I think you should try this for your long COVID symptoms.
00:46:53
Felicia Devine
Mm-hmm.
00:46:57
Natalie Richards
I just was i just threw it out there.
00:46:58
Felicia Devine
Yeah.
00:46:59
Natalie Richards
i was like, you've tried everything. You've been on a steroid for two years. like You can't you cough.
00:47:03
Felicia Devine
Oh my goodness.
00:47:05
Natalie Richards
You're coughing all day.
00:47:06
Felicia Devine
Yeah.
00:47:06
Natalie Richards
like She had major, major things that nobody could figure out.
00:47:06
Felicia Devine
Okay.
00:47:09
Natalie Richards
that had no real reason why she was coughing.
00:47:13
Felicia Devine
Mm-hmm.
00:47:13
Natalie Richards
She tried it and within like a few days, she was so much better.
00:47:17
Natalie Richards
It was, ah she, she like texted me.
00:47:17
Felicia Devine
Wow.
00:47:19
Felicia Devine
What'd you start her on?
00:47:19
Natalie Richards
She's like, I feel so good.
00:47:20
Felicia Devine
Seven? Mm-hmm.
00:47:21
Natalie Richards
No, I just said, start with a little bit of gum, just, and actually no, she did start with a patch because she had access to those.
00:47:27
Felicia Devine
Okay.
00:47:28
Natalie Richards
So she was doing like a half of a patch for a few days.
00:47:31
Felicia Devine
Okay.
00:47:33
Natalie Richards
And she noticed nearly immediate change, which I think amazing.
00:47:36
Felicia Devine
Wow.
00:47:39
Natalie Richards
It's like mind blowing.
00:47:40
Felicia Devine
It is.
00:47:40
Natalie Richards
It's amazing. So it's like, if you have those symptoms, it's really, really worth a shot.
00:47:43
Felicia Devine
It's worth a shot. Mm-hmm.
00:47:46
Natalie Richards
i think it is pretty low risk in the whole scheme of things.
00:47:49
Felicia Devine
Mm-hmm.
00:47:50
Natalie Richards
It's really low risk and high reward potentially.
00:47:50
Felicia Devine
Mm-hmm.
00:47:52
Felicia Devine
Yeah.
00:47:53
Natalie Richards
yeah.
00:47:54
Felicia Devine
Awesome.
00:47:55
Natalie Richards
That's my last tidbit. Okay.
00:47:57
Felicia Devine
Well, this was fun.
00:47:59
Natalie Richards
It was fun. i am so glad we got to talk about this stuff. So i think next next episode, we're going to have some fun again.
00:48:02
Felicia Devine
Yeah.
00:48:07
Felicia Devine
Yes.
00:48:07
Natalie Richards
um but thanks for listening to Functionally Feral. We'll see you next episode.
00:48:12
Felicia Devine
We'll see you next time.
00:48:12
Natalie Richards
Bye.
