Podcast Introduction and Technical Glitches

00:00:00
Speaker
Going down, down in an early event. um Hey, hi, everyone. What's up? It's T.O.Q. It's your boy. Sorry, you caught us in the middle of karaoke day. Yeah, we're doing some karaoke. it is a you know And hey, welcome to That's Our Q, where we take your questions and we give you answers as if you cared to know them.
00:00:16
Speaker
And we steal them from places like Reddit and Quora and other online forums where people are asking other people, but they're not necessarily asking us. um And yeah, hey, my name is Adam. And with me, I have my buddy Danny.
00:00:27

00:00:41
Speaker
I changed nothing. I didn't move at all. um This is literally three seconds after we finished our last recording. You might, know you might need to add a couple extra knuckles between your thumb and your. Yeah. Not, not sure what's going on there. Yeah. it' was going to say now you're extra

loud.
00:00:57
Speaker
Um, but Hey, uh, Danny, you're the one that collects the questions these days. And Hey, uh, listener, if you want to, uh, have our question, your questions answered with our mouths,
00:01:11
Speaker
uh go to fun and sellers network.biz and scroll down to the little message box we have there and let us know because i don't really pay attention to social media that much and we'd love to have some more interaction from the the listeners so please go do that it ain't that hard just do it okay thanks do i have to use my mouth uh no but it's helpful for a podcast but i guess you don't have to yeah um So, hey, we ran long last episode, so we're going to really try to keep this like around 20 minutes for sure. We're doing 20 minutes. That's it. um'm We're going to hard cut at 20. So if we cut off in the middle of something, you know why. Don't dare me because I'll just end it. I don't care. You just liked our entire audience.
00:01:53
Speaker
I didn't just do that. That was last episode. Yeah, sorry. That was a week ago. My mistake. All right. Ask our ask our let's get into it, Danny. We can do it. We can do it under 10 if we try. Yeah, but we don't want to do that.
00:02:05
Speaker
Anyway, Adam, I need you to do me a favor.

Imaginative Scenario: The Sixth Finger

00:02:08
Speaker
Yo. Okay? Yeah. need you to close your eyes and open your imagination. Okay, can I open my mouth too? Excuse me. Yeah, I guess if you're going to do that. i mean, don't fall asleep. Just imagine.
00:02:20
Speaker
Oh, that's what you're trying to me to do. i want you look down at your hands with your eyes closed. How can I do that with my eyes you closed? With eyes closed. Just pretend your hands are in front of you, all right? I'm pretending they're in... I'm not pretending. They are. I can feel them. Okay, perfect. Now. Okay.
00:02:34
Speaker
You can see and you can feel that sixth finger on each hand. I can? Yes. Oh, I can. Yes, I can. Imagine better. Okay. Good. All right.
00:02:45
Speaker
Now, you have dreams of becoming an eSports player. prodigy you know a speed runner or uh the next big fortnite player or whatever they do yeah uh but then a man comes up to you his name is marshmallow man with a four and a zero whoa and he says hey i have you know i know there's no such thing as stupid questions but If you were to become an e-sports celebrity or a speedrunner, would you be able to use your sixth finger?
00:03:22
Speaker
You're asking... Oh, yes, obviously would. if like They give you a physical before you start the challenges. Episode over. Boom. Three minutes. Yeah, but would you be allowed to use it because it's an an unfair advantage?
00:03:35
Speaker
Well, you would have to be cleared. You wouldn't even get to play if they didn't clear you. If they cleared you, then yes. Yes, that's how it works. You have to get cleared away. Should they be ah cleared? Well, that wasn't the question. It said, could you?
00:03:48
Speaker
The answer is, if you were Actually, the question is would. i just said could. I'm sorry, Marshmallow Man. i Look, I tried to get fancy with it, and I i dropped the ball, and I apologized. You know what? um Adam, would someone with six fingers be allowed to to use them in competitive gaming?
00:04:06
Speaker
Well, if it's would they, again, like the question is, if they were, cleared medically to do so after the physical and the drug tests and all that stuff, then yes, yes, they could.
00:04:19
Speaker
um Now, if they weren't and the rules were like, hey, sorry, that gives you an unfair advantage. You can't do that. And they say no, then it's no.
00:04:29
Speaker
But then there would be some prissy bitch on the internet that's like, I took fifth place with this person who has a sixth finger. That means it's it's an unfair advantage, even though they got fifth place and not first somehow. man, we're getting salty right off the bat. I love it.
00:04:46
Speaker
Yeah, that dumb fucking piece of shit swimmer. Anyway, so The point I'm trying to make is this. If you're cleared to compete, then yeah, you would use it. Why wouldn't you use it?
00:04:57
Speaker
Yes, absolutely. Yeah. i Okay, I think I want your opinion though. Should they? Should they be allowed to? I'm trying to put discussion. Like I said, I'm not as good at picking the questions, all right? You're what really, really making me self-conscious about it here. You're one of the people I care about their opinions.
00:05:15
Speaker
What is yeah what is what What where is the finger? Is it like? It doesn't say. It's, I don't know. It's an extra thumb. Well, it depends. Like a thumb is a, an extra thumb.
00:05:29
Speaker
Go ahead. ah Okay. Okay. Okay. An extra thumb is a big difference than an extra like pinky. Right. So we're imagining that it's growing like either in the space between your thumb and your finger or on the end of your pinky. Right. Because there's not really a whole lot of room for a finger to grow out of any other part of your fucking hand. Right.
00:05:50
Speaker
Right. so Okay. All right. Imagine you're holding a controller, right? Yeah. A pinky wouldn't do dick for me. An extra pinky, I don't think would really help me that much. We're going to go extra thumb between the thumb and index finger.
00:06:02
Speaker
Okay. That's able to perfectly reach... ah the other buttons besides the thumbsticks. So that's the direction pad and the buttons themselves. Yes, because like instead are you having to jump between like the joystick, the D-pads, like whichever hand it's on, if it's on your left hand, you know, like you can like if you have your ability slotted to your D-pad, plus you have your your thumbstick that you're always moving around. Like, yeah, that would be a very clear advantage if it's like a competitive game, right?
00:06:33
Speaker
um So yeah, again, that would have to be In that case, no, I don't think you should use it because like that does give you an unfair advantage for like competitive at speed running. I don't really know, like I guess, but like speed running people already break the rules a lot to do that. A lot of hacks and shit. So like, why shouldn't I be allowed to use my extra thumb?
00:06:54
Speaker
But if it's like, oh, am I am I if I'm competing at like an e-sports arena and like, you know, I'm playing like Rainbow Six Siege and like we there's money at stake. Like, yeah, that extra fucking thumb.
00:07:06
Speaker
regardless of what side it's on is going to be a game changer for you. Like then, yes, I think that like there should be, you should have to tape that shit to the rest of your hand to keep playing. Right. Um, I think that's only fair.
00:07:18
Speaker
Um, but like some things, not so much, like, honestly, I don't know how like throwing a football with two thumbs, extra thumbs would, well, your thumb would make you you things better for you.
00:07:29
Speaker
Here's another, like

Physical Attributes and Competitive Fairness

00:07:30
Speaker
another example, somebody put in the comments. Uh, um, Jacoby Herbshire says, I think about this kind of thing all the time. Like, what if somebody was so fat that they could just perfectly clog up a hockey goal?
00:07:48
Speaker
Right. Do you let them play? Because now it's impossible to score. Right. But at the same time, think about my previous comment. You have to be able to pass the physical. You have to be cleared.
00:07:59
Speaker
And if this person can't skate but like, you know, a few yards without getting tired or they can't keep up with the drills they have to run because the goalies still have to run the drills like then they're not allowed to play.
00:08:09
Speaker
Right. So like, again, like there are rules in place for to cover a lot of these things. Right. Right. If you know, like if you want to fight, you have to pass a certain weight class. You can fight in that weight class. Right.
00:08:22
Speaker
You have to if you want to stay active in the military without getting in trouble, you have to pass your PT every time they call you for it. Like, you know, like. There are things you have to do. You have to be cleared for these things.
00:08:34
Speaker
So in that situation, it's probably not going to happen because that person, you know, no offense to bigger people, but you're probably not going to able to keep up with everybody else. If you can, if you can, though, all the power to you block that fucking goal. you're allowed to your Your opinion on the matter is just if you can pass like the the physical aspect.
00:08:56
Speaker
You know, the bar. Yeah, you're in. If they say you're cleared to do it and you're like, hey, big boy, go ahead and be goalie because you're huge and you're like, hell yeah. right? And you're game to do it. And you're able to keep up with all the drills and everything they have you do without being suspended or kicked off the team.
00:09:12
Speaker
Good for fucking you, man. Then go use your bigness to go block those pucks. You should be allowed to. You kept up with everybody. You passed the fucking physical exam. You did what you needed to do. Absolutely. Use what you got.
00:09:24
Speaker
Absolutely. fucking luotly Right. I don't know the rules on that, but typically they have rules for weight classes and like the ability to like stay up with everybody else. If you can do it, then do it fucking as long as you you follow the rules. you good But the thumb thing the thumb thing is the only one that's like, if it' specifically to gaming, it is definitely an advantage.
00:09:46
Speaker
Like, I think for sure you can just, you have, now that's not to say that somebody without the extra thumb couldn't keep up with you and still beat you, but you have a greater chance to get the button sooner because you don't have...
00:09:58
Speaker
You have to have less movement time, not just reaction time, but less movement time because your thumb is already there versus that extra split second. You have to move your thumb from one part of the controller to the other to push that button, yeah especially like button mashing contest. Like you have two thumbs to mash this at the same time.
00:10:15
Speaker
You know, like, so yeah, I think in that case, that an argument could be made like that's an unfair advantage. But I don't know how having an extra thumbs gonna help you throw a football better or help you throw a javelin or help you run track better. Like, I just mean, the big thing is that we're talking video games. So I don't think they're doing any of those other things anyway.
00:10:34
Speaker
ah What was the other thing you said? as as A speedrunner or a what? A speedrunner or an eSports. ESports. Like video games. Gotcha. Yeah, yeah. I don't think any eSports... Look, I'm not going to say that.
00:10:50
Speaker
I certainly wouldn't if I were an eSports star. I wouldn't do that and then and go out and throw a football around. That's not happening. That's not happening and I'm not an eSports person. So...
00:11:02
Speaker
I don't know. I think they're two very separate worlds you're bringing together. Right. I'm just thinking like, I'm sorry. I think I missed the e-sports part and i think I just thought sports.
00:11:12
Speaker
Um, but I don't know. What do you think? Yeah, I think it's a tough question. I do think as far as the speed running one goes, I actually have a better answer for that one.
00:11:24
Speaker
Um, I think they would either have to make it its own category, in which case, congratulations, you hold the record probably. um Or you wouldn't be allowed to use those extra thumbs because yes, they break the games for speed running. They do all this stuff, but they're actually very stringent on like,
00:11:46
Speaker
Is the console version the only version allowed for the speedrun? Can you emulate the game? Can you use this kind of controller um with like the the but the spam button button? I forget what it's called.
00:12:02
Speaker
ah Where instead of, you know, if you hold down the button, it acts like you're pressing it constantly. um there's rules for all of that because you have to keep it a level playing field for the speed running ah to see who's the fastest based on skills and execution of the tricks.
00:12:18
Speaker
um And in that case, with that in mind, like I said, they'd have to either make it its own category. So like, beating GameX any percent glitchless with six fingers would be its own thing.
00:12:33
Speaker
Or you'd have to just not use your sixth finger because it is an unfair advantage that not everyone else can replicate. ah Esports, though, I don't know as much. Like, I honestly don't think they're giving physicals to the people before they join an esports team.
00:12:52
Speaker
um Right, but think about, like, if someone found out like, you know, eventually because you get invited to like the areas where you play and you sit in these rows and rows of computers and like.
00:13:05
Speaker
Right. Well, that's what I'm thinking of is like one of those events. Right. If you get invited to one of those and then like one of your competitors sees like, you know, you're kicking ass and they're like, dude, you got fucking two thumbs on like the joist, like on the buttons.
00:13:20
Speaker
Like that's crazy. and And like that's going to get publicity real fast. not Not to mention that somebody probably already called it out or that person's already semi-famous because people learned of the, you know, the the two thumbs or the three thumbed boy, you know, like whatever that may be like.
00:13:36
Speaker
it's going to be hard to hide that eventually. And, you know, especially if he does try to hide it or they try to hide it and then they do well. and they their family like You know, it could be like, no it's a tough one. Cause I, there have been things where like, you know, um, a really good player gets,
00:13:58
Speaker
disqualified from a game that's online only. Yep. And then the team is like, okay, well, we'll have our backup player play instead, but actually give the account to the player that got disqualified because he's better. Right.
00:14:13
Speaker
You know, and then it comes out that, well, that's an unfair advantage because the guy we kicked out is still playing. Yep. But that's, ah you know, absolutely breaking the rules. Whereas this is like,
00:14:25
Speaker
I don't know. It's a it's a doozy of a question. You know, when when you really.
00:14:31
Speaker
i guess if you change the question to if you were the one making the rules. It becomes very hard. You know, if you were the one giving the. The OK or not.
00:14:43
Speaker
The one doing the physical, the one. That's not hard for No, not at all. Like I said, I stand very firm. if it's like a competitive video game, I don't care about the speed running shit so much.
00:14:57
Speaker
But if it's like, oh, like you're going up against live players at the same time, like, yeah, I can definitely see how having an extra thumb would, you know, give you an advantage. However, and extra pinky, unless I guess you find a way to hold that controller in a way that makes that make sense. But I've tried to play hold a controller different and play video games.
00:15:15
Speaker
My pinky is practically useless when it comes to pushing buttons. So like, I couldn't see like if you have like an extra random digit on the end that's not a thumb, I honestly think it'd probably be fine because you're not typically using those ends of your hands anyway to game.
00:15:28
Speaker
yeah I agree with that. If it's like a vestigial finger that doesn't really do anything. Right. In in this took context, it's whatever. I don't think it's that big a deal. Yeah, so but it when it comes to video games, I think like, yeah, if you if it's a perfectly functioning thumb in the same way your other one is and you still have the same dexterity without it like being too out of control or crazy, then yeah, I could see that being, you know, maybe and an an edge that they would have.
00:15:55
Speaker
um But but yeah, outside of that other pinky don't care. yeah Other sports don't care. You know, whatever. Fucking do your thing. I don't give a shit. Speedrunning.
00:16:06
Speaker
I think... Sorry. Sorry to speedrunners out there. I think that shit's a joke anyway. So, like, I don't fucking care about your dumb little contest and stupid speedruns and your records. I don't care. i just don't care about your dumb... Ooh, I managed to find little hiccups and glitches in Dark Souls and beat the game in 42 minutes.
00:16:23
Speaker
I don't care. That's not what the game was made for. and don't care. I'm glad you're having fun, but I just don't care about your records, okay? I don't care. But there's a guy who beat all three Dark Souls's without getting hit a single time.
00:16:36
Speaker
You know, that's cool. That's fucking metal as hell. And he got hit on the very last boss and he was devastated and he went under into a depression and he cried for a few days and then he went back and did it again and he

Fun Facts and Trivia

Speaker
succeeded.
00:16:48
Speaker
That's what I care about. That's an inspirational story right there, baby. That's what I care about. Fuck yeah, daddy. Um... Anyway, what are talking about? What are you asking me? We only have three minutes, by the way, to beat 20 minutes. No, I think we're good, actually. LAUGHTER
00:17:06
Speaker
Alright, real quick, real quick, side conversation. I found another thing. I looked up a bunch of random factoids that I don't know if are true. Ready? Ready? Okay, yeah. Bananas are berries, but strawberries aren't. Crazy! Let's see, let's see.
00:17:17
Speaker
um um um Australia has more camels than Egypt. Whoa! umm Yeah. Did you know that sharks have been around longer than trees? What the fuck? No way!
00:17:28
Speaker
ah Apples float because they're 25% air. Also, lemons float while limes sink. What the fuck? who The mantis shrimp can punch with the speed of a bullet. Oh, my God.
00:17:40
Speaker
The only letter that doesn't appear on the periodic table is the letter J. Whoa. I know, and you don't see the letter A in any numbers until the number 1000. What the fuck?
00:17:50
Speaker
Wow. The group of owls is called a parliament. Let's see what else, what else, what else. The word typewriter can be typed using only the top row of keys. Damn. The murder is a group of crows. The largest living structure on earth is the Great Barrier Reef.
00:18:05
Speaker
Whoa! And honey bees can recognize human faces. Oh! Yeah. And a Tittleman's crest? A Tittleman's crest is a random object left on the top of a fence post.
00:18:18
Speaker
What the fuck? Okay, didn't know that. And the moon a lemon-like shape. Who knew? That was not a perfectly round sphere. So there you go, there's a bunch of things. ah Wombat's poop cube-shaped.
00:18:30
Speaker
The electric chair was invented by a dentist! a And the dot over the i the letter i a lowercase i, is called a Tittle. You're welcome. Okay.
00:18:42
Speaker
All right, that's it. Danny, take us away. We're going to get under the 20-minute mark.

Thanks, guys, for listening. If you want to have some questions, give us some feedback. Go to FundInstallersNetwork.biz. Scroll down. Go to that little message box. Let us know the kind of shit you want us to talk to or talk about next time.
00:18:56
Speaker
Danny, you now have it. When I'm done talking, 60 seconds. Yo. Okay, so next time you see somebody, here is your compliment challenge. You tell them, that they look ah fly.
00:19:07
Speaker
Tell them that they look fly. We talked about it last week and I like it. So we're going to tell them that they're fat, the bomb, fly. Use any, actually use any of the 90s slang.
00:19:20
Speaker
Look it up if you have to, if you're young and I don't care. I want you to go out and use a 90s slang. All right, cool. Peace. We have 30 seconds left, but we're ending early. Bye. I panicked.
00:19:33
Speaker
Damn it, I tried to get under 30 seconds there. panicked. I didn't have my hand on the mouse. I was... Could you stop thumping the mouse? Come on, we have to leave. Okay, you know what? going to end it right at 20 minutes. I'm not going to put a theme song in it or anything.
00:19:47
Speaker
Alright, so we're just going to sit in silence for 10 seconds.
00:19:58
Speaker
Yeah, so... ah
