Today we will be reading Psalm 29, Psalm 33 1-22, and Psalm 66: 16-20.  We will be talking about about thinking about how beautiful, special,  and holy God is in Psalm 29. In Psalm 33: 1-11 we will talk about how  trustworthy God is, especially compared to people! We are not always trustworthy, but God's Word is always right and true. God IS love and His love never comes to an end. In Psalm 33 verses 12-22 we will talk discuss how God is the only one who can save us and we can trust Him to work  good into everything, no matter what we are going through. We can trust Him to bring us what is good. In Psalm 65 we will remember that  a we have read the Bible this year, even the enemies of God's people who lived far away had heard of the amazing things God did for His people ! I will give thanks to God for providing food for my refrigerator through Julie today, as we read about God's overflowing provision for us in our lives. In Psalm 66 verses 16-20 we will praise God and remember to tell others about the amazing things He does for us. We will be  encouraged to let our lights shine, rather than keeping them under bowls. We will be encouraged that God did not turn away from my prayers. He did not keep his love away from me while I was dealing with my refrigerator and he will not turn away from YOU, either, or keep His love away from YOU. He will provide amazing stories for you to be able to share the great things He will do for you in your life.

A New Refrigerator Journey

00:01:25
Speaker
I wanted to give you, hopefully, my final update in my ah hopefully ending refrigerator saga. I do finally have an operating refrigerator in my house today.
00:01:37
Speaker
Thank you, God. I was so excited. I couldn't believe it was actually going to be happening. And I'm so glad that Julie and Diamond were here with me today when it showed up. And Helen, it was so awesome to have you guys here as we received the refrigerator today.
00:01:53
Speaker
Thank you for sharing in that with me. I'm so glad God ah arranged your timing so that you were here just when they arrived. That was amazing.

Finding Calm in Psalms

00:02:04
Speaker
Well, we are going to get to our psalms today. We've had a lot of long videos lately, and I'm going to try to make this one a little shorter if possible, since I don't have a long refrigerator story to tell.
00:02:15
Speaker
And we do have, let's see, one, two, three, four, five psalms today. And we are reading in a section of Psalms entitled Songs About Joy.
00:02:26
Speaker
So I read these this morning when I was starting to feel anxious about my refrigerator coming. And God gave me his peace and I felt so much better after reading them.
00:02:37
Speaker
It was so awesome to be able to go to the Psalms and read them and find that they were helpful for me. So I want to encourage you that if you are feeling anxious or you're upset about something, open up your Psalms and give some of them a good read because they may very well be just what you need to help put you into perspective and to settle you down.
00:02:58
Speaker
I know they really did help me today. So I want to give God the glory for him and his Psalms today, that they really did help me to be calm and to be still and know that he is God today.

Reflecting on Psalm 29

00:03:12
Speaker
So today we're going to start off with Psalm 29, and it is entitled, Tell About God. It's been written by David.
00:03:22
Speaker
Tell how great and strong God is. Worship God. Think of how beautiful He is. How special. How holy.
00:03:33
Speaker
He is the best. God's voice thunders over the sea. His voice is great and full of power. His voice is so strong it breaks cedar trees in pieces.
00:03:48
Speaker
His voice strikes like a flash of lightning. It makes the desert shake. It twists oak trees. In God's house, everyone calls out, God is great.
00:04:02
Speaker
God sits on his throne. He is the king forever. He makes his people strong and gives them peace. And that's the end of the first Psalm, Psalm 29 today.
00:04:16
Speaker
I really like that one. It is so wonderful to think of how beautiful and how special and how holy God is.
00:04:27
Speaker
That was what I thought was just how the the best part about this psalm is that we are reminded to think about how beautiful God is, how special God is, how holy.
00:04:38
Speaker
He is the best. There's really not much I can add to that. Can you think of some things that you like best about that Psalm? I was thinking today about how how holy and how special God is because there is no one else like him.
00:04:56
Speaker
He has the Trinity, the Holy Spirit and Jesus. And we know that Jesus was with him because in the beginning was the word and the word was with God. And that's John 1.1. But God is is unique.
00:05:10
Speaker
We talked yesterday about how he is not like an idol And he is he is so special. There is no one like God. He is unique. He is holy.
00:05:21
Speaker
He is beautiful. He is love. He is the best.
00:05:29
Speaker
And in God's house, everyone calls out, God is great. He is great. And I hope that everybody is calling out daily how great God is.
00:05:41
Speaker
And I like that the last line says, he makes his people strong and gives them peace. I know he gave me peace today. And when you have need, you can go to him and he will give you peace too.

Praising God's Trustworthiness

00:05:54
Speaker
The next Psalm is entitled, A New Song, and it is Psalm 33. And this is for only verses one through 11. Our next Psalm ah will be actually the same Psalm. So we actually only have four Psalms today, but ah the next one, it will be verses 12 through 22.
00:06:16
Speaker
So in this first section, it's entitled, a New Song, and it's just verses one through 11 of Psalm 33.
00:06:24
Speaker
Let those who do what's right sing with joy to God. Praising God fits you. Praise Him with the harp. Make music to Him on the lyre that has ten strings.
00:06:37
Speaker
Sing a new song to God. Play your best and shout with joy. God's Word is right and true. You can trust Him in all He does.
00:06:50
Speaker
God loves what is right and good. The earth is full of his love. His love never comes to an end. The sky was made by God's word.
00:07:02
Speaker
The stars were made by breath from his mouth. He brings the sea water together. He keeps the deep water in storehouses. All the earth should be filled with wonder for God.
00:07:17
Speaker
All people should know how special he is. He said a word and the world was made. The plans of God's heart will always come true.
00:07:31
Speaker
And that's the end of this first section.
00:07:36
Speaker
i ah just, I love everything about these Psalms. I think my favorite part of this one is that God's word is right and true. And I also like that it says, let's see.
00:07:49
Speaker
Praising God fits you. I love that. It fits us. It is something that works really well for us. It looks good on us. It feels good on us.
00:07:59
Speaker
Praising God fits you. When we sing praises to God, our whole body and our whole being just lights up. We are filled with his light and his joy.
00:08:12
Speaker
And I like that it fits you. It's like saying it suits you.
00:08:17
Speaker
God's word is right and true. We know that we can trust it. You can trust him in all he does. There is nobody more trustworthy than God.
00:08:29
Speaker
We let people down. We don't always speak 100% of the truth in every single thing. But what God says is true and right and good.
00:08:41
Speaker
And we can trust him in everything. There is nothing in which he has ever proven to be not trustworthy. God is the most trustworthy of anything we should ever put our trust in.
00:08:54
Speaker
And that's why it hurts him so much when we don't put our trust in him. And we're fearful because he is has shown so many times how trustworthy he is. He is worthy of our faith.
00:09:05
Speaker
He is worthy of our praise. He's worthy of our love. Remember, faith is another word for trust. That we can trust him with all he does, it tells us in the psalm.
00:09:17
Speaker
And the earth is full of his love because God is love. Everything he does is love. And his love never comes to an end.
00:09:28
Speaker
He has so much love. He is love. And it never comes to an end. He is the great I am. He always was and he always will be. And his love will never come to an end.
00:09:42
Speaker
Isn't that amazing how much he loves us? and how he he loves everything he created.
00:09:51
Speaker
and like how it talks about how he made the world and everything. But that was my favorite part, is that God is so trustworthy and that God is love and his love never comes to an end.

God's Protection and Love

00:10:05
Speaker
All people should know how special he is. And that's one of the reasons why I ah have been led to do this event is that I want to spread the word about reading God's word because I want everybody to know how special God is and to know that they can put their faith in him. You can put your faith in him.
00:10:25
Speaker
You can trust him that no matter what it is that's going on, he is going to work good through it. He is trustworthy. He loves us and he takes care of us. He and ah he is always with us.
00:10:35
Speaker
We are never alone. And that is why I want all people should know how special he is.
00:10:45
Speaker
The plans of God's heart will always come true. God says that when he puts out his word, it doesn't go come back empty handed. doesn't come back empty. God's word is alive.
00:11:00
Speaker
And that's another reason why I want to spread the word about reading God's word. God's word is amazing. It is applicable every day in our lives. it Doesn't matter what is going on.
00:11:11
Speaker
Even just reading the Psalms. I love it. And the plans of God's heart will always come true. And he always has good in mind. So we know that good things will come.
00:11:22
Speaker
It may not always look like it. But those are just the things that are necessary to get us to where we he wants us to be. Because he is good.
00:11:33
Speaker
The next part of that psalm is entitled, Who is Strong? And it's Psalm 33, verses 12 through 22.
00:11:43
Speaker
a nation can be happy when God is their Lord, and the people God chose can be happy. These people are the ones God chose for his own. God looks down from heaven and sees everyone.
00:11:57
Speaker
He made their hearts, so he understands everything they do. A big army does not save a king. A fighter does not win just because he is strong.
00:12:09
Speaker
And a horse cannot save that and anyone, even if it's strong. God watches over people who love him, and they trust him to give them what they need. We wait for God.
00:12:22
Speaker
He is our guard. He helps us. Keep us in your love that never ends, God. We trust you to bring us what is good.
00:12:36
Speaker
I like that too, that we trust him to bring us what is good. He is our guard and he helps us. And we pray that God will keep us in his love that never ends.
00:12:47
Speaker
And of course he will. He will keep us in his love that never ends. And it is God who saves us. It's not people who save us. It's nobody saves themselves.
00:13:00
Speaker
It's God who saves us.
00:13:04
Speaker
The people God chose can be happy. God chose you and you should be happy. You can be happy. There are so many things that we have seen every single day that can help us to be happy.
00:13:18
Speaker
God has given us a spirit of peace and a spirit of love and a sound mind so that we can think of these things and and know that they are true.
00:13:30
Speaker
He made our hearts and so he understands everything we do. So there is nothing that we can go through because Jesus went through everything too. that we are understood by our God.
00:13:41
Speaker
He is not just so lofty that he couldn't possibly understand what it means like to be us. God understands everything. He made our hearts so he understands everything we do.
00:13:56
Speaker
Psalm 65 is entitled,

Gratitude for Provision

00:13:58
Speaker
Where the Sun Rises. God, we will keep our promises to you. You hear us pray. we were sad because of our sins, but you forgave us.
00:14:10
Speaker
The people you choose are happy. People everywhere hope in you, even those on the far sea. People who live far away talk about your wonders.
00:14:22
Speaker
You bring glad songs from the places where the sun rises and sets. You take care of the land. your water You water it and make it ready to grow crops.
00:14:34
Speaker
Your rivers are full of water. You soak the fields and make them flat. You make dirt soft with the rain. You make good crops grow and give us plenty of food.
00:14:48
Speaker
Carts spill over with more than we need. The hills look glad and sheep fill the field. Crops of grain cover the valleys.
00:14:59
Speaker
They all shout and sing for joy.
00:15:06
Speaker
We talked a minute ago about being happy because we can trust us. We can trust God. And people everywhere hope in God, even those on the far seas.
00:15:18
Speaker
We know that God is known all throughout the world, but there are still people who don't know about him. And so it's important for us to let them know about him too. But we know that even in the Bible times, ah that that the the enemies knew what their God had done and that they were afraid that they remembered and knew that ah god had led them ah through egypt and let them and helped them to leave and that he had parted the red sea for them and we have read about the fact that the enemy said that they needed to be careful at different times because they knew that when they had the ark for instance they said that the ark could cause trouble that they had the egyptians gave them trouble he they gave the egyptians trouble until they finally made them leave and so they said they needed to be careful
00:16:11
Speaker
That was great. I always loved that part. And today, and says, you make good crops grow and give us plenty of food and carts spill over with more than we need.
00:16:22
Speaker
And today, i was so thankful because today, thank you, Julie, you brought me groceries when we didn't have anything because our refrigerator was empty because it was not staying cold and we were just using things as we could, but there were things that we couldn't use or didn't want.
00:16:41
Speaker
And... And you brought me a whole refrigerator just about full of food to put in there when when you came and the refrigerator was there and it was arriving. So thank you.
00:16:52
Speaker
You made the refrigerator spill over with more than we need. Thank you, Julie, for for being the bearer of God's provision and bringing us stuff to fill our refrigerator with.
00:17:06
Speaker
I'm trying to think of what Diana said. i can't remember what Diana said, but ah she said something about there was so much fruit in the refrigerator. ah It looked like something. I can't remember.
00:17:18
Speaker
ah But I laughed because although she wouldn't come out or let you see her or talk to you, um she was sure was happy to comment on the amount of fruit that you brought. So thank you for bringing that for us today.
00:17:34
Speaker
The last psalm we have today is Psalm 66, and this is just verses 16 through 20, and it's entitled, Come and See.

Sharing God's Work

00:17:44
Speaker
Come and listen, if you love God.
00:17:47
Speaker
Let me tell you what He did for me. i called out to Him. I praised Him. If I had kept sin in my heart, God would not have listened. But I know that God listened.
00:18:00
Speaker
He heard me pray. And that's very short section. just had 16 to 20, that was end of Come See. And
00:18:13
Speaker
and that's a very short section we just had sixteen to twenty but that was the end of come and see and That's part of why i i tell you about the things that are going on with me is that I know that ah most of you watching don't know me, but I want to praise God and I want to tell you the wonderful things that God does for me.
00:18:34
Speaker
And he does them through people like Julie. and her family, and and he does them through other people ah at church, and he has watched over me through this refrigerator ah saga, and I have been so grateful ah for him for calming me down when I've been upset about this, and for Julie's prayers for me as she encouraged me to know that this was simply manure that was going to grow and help me be stronger and to bear much fruit for him.
00:19:07
Speaker
And I'm so thankful for your encouragement. And I'm thankful for the people who prayed at me, ah for the person who prayed with me at church. And I shared that with you the other day. and And that all the ways that he is growing me this year.
00:19:21
Speaker
And that is what I'm doing. um Let me tell you what he did for me, it says in the psalm. So that's why I like to share those things, is that I want to be an example. ah Listen, to let me tell you what God has done for me.
00:19:35
Speaker
Like when I talk about work and how God sends me people each day and orchestrates my day. i love it. And it says, I know that God listened. He heard me pray.
00:19:48
Speaker
Cheer for God. Yay, God! God is so awesome. He is so wonderful. And I am so glad that he is with me every day. I love to see him do amazing things through everything, through my refrigerator, through this event, through my days at work, through whatever trial it happens to be that we are going through.
00:20:11
Speaker
i love to tell you about it so that I can glorify God. I want to glorify him in that. And I hope that you have someone that you can share God's glory with as well.
00:20:21
Speaker
Don't keep it to yourself. Shout it out loud. No one lights a light and keeps it under a bowl. Let's let your light shine. And if you feel that God has lit your light today with this event, then please click that light button and so that other people can see this light and be encouraged and want to join us for this event so that they too can spread the word about reading God's word.
00:20:44
Speaker
I hope everybody has a blessed rest of their day, and I will be here for everybody tomorrow. And I'm so glad that you are here with me today. And i am just very thankful for this event and the opportunity to read this event with you, to read through the Bible with you every day this year.
00:21:01
Speaker
I will talk to everybody and see you guys all again tomorrow.
