Speaker: Hello everybody and welcome back to this show that we call role players. We interrupt your usual savage world's listening to bring you a very special episode of something cool. So before we get into what it is, we have Justin here. He's the guy that plays with us. Say hi, Justin. That is true. That's me. Hi, hello. Then we have Amy. She's also here right before a flight is about to happen.

Speaker: I am here, and I keep picking up this pen on my desk, and I'm wanting to click it. I'm going to put it away. Yeah, stop it. Interesting. Guys, we have, for the first time in a while back in the show, we got our guy David. He's back on the show. Yup. Here I am. Yup. Our same jovial, loud David. Yup. Very light. Yeah, settle down.

Speaker: And we have a super awesome guest that I've been so nervous about But we've got designer of monster of the week and the physical embodiment of generic games. Mr. Michael Sands with us. Hi, Michael. Hi, welcome Thank you for having me here He's only taking our show you see that he's already taken it natural. Yeah

Speaker: So we are about to test a game that Michael created called Heavy Metal Aeon. And I feel like the best way to explain what it is is for us to just play it. So I'm going to turn it over to Michael and we're going to find out what it is that we're supposed to be doing. So Michael, immerse us in this wonderful world and game that you've created.

Speaker: Cool. Well, Heavy Metal Eons is a game I've got that's like in early access release, by which I mean it's almost finished, but not quite. So we're hopefully gonna get a bit more polish on it today. It is a game where we play through stories inspired by epic heavy metal songs of science fiction and fantasy adventure. So I think we should be able to get some pretty crazy stuff done along those lines today.

Speaker: As we embark on the scenario, Chrono Storm, in which you are going to be the Time God.

Speaker: So how this game starts is we're going to first go through a few questions about kind of to draw you into the basics of the story and set up where we're beginning. And then a lot of it's going to be driven by where you want to go until you kind of finally get ready to take on the time God at the end and destroy it forever for its evilness.

Speaker: Well, I mean, you might lose too. We all may just be obliterated from time. We may just be erased. So, shall I go in order that your counters are on the Roll20 tabletop? Just as a way to get started? You guys can make your names appear on Roll20 as your character names if you want.

Speaker: I tried. It doesn't work. David, what's the name of your Trokula? So he is...

Speaker: He's just known as the Monster Hunter character. Oh, you even put the, oh, you put it in your sheet. He put the trademark in his sheet. That's 50 bucks for me in my pocket. So yeah, sure. Excellent. Okay. Uh, okay. So.

Speaker: All of you are starting, you've been banished into the Null Zone by the Time God. So the first thing for the Monster Hunter, et cetera, et cetera, is what time crime did you commit that got you banished here? So he was hanging out with the Time God for some reason, because when you don't have the game running, he's still doing things, right?

Speaker: And he, you know, the time God wants to get some like, get some beer from the fridge, and he left his phone unlocked. And he opened, you know, he's curious as to whether the time guy could be talking about me took a look at the text messages on there. It wasn't good. So

Speaker: So, reading the Time God's messages. Yeah, that was his crime. He's like, get in jail! You're not supposed to do that. Okay, now, I'd like to suggest that, as I've been playing like way too much later Spire recently, that the Time God looks like the Time Snail boss in there, if any of you are familiar with that.

Speaker: The time snail boss? I can Google it. Yeah, one of the bosses in Slay the Slayer is like this weird time snail. So we're all looking it up. So you were hanging out with a time snail, huh? Yeah, sure. I got rid of the snail for an extra time. That's my suggestion. Oh, he's weird looking. He's real squishy looking.

Speaker: Yep. Oh my God. Yeah. Okay. Yeah. Hey, listen, listeners, look, look it up. If you don't know. That's the guy you're hanging out with. That's the time guy. This phone's probably all sticky. You're slippery. Nah, dude. Whatever. You guys are fucking. It was like the friendship until, until this incident with the phone messages, right? He was pretty cool. Yeah. Okay.

Speaker: Which of those other questions did you answer for me? Let's see. It was, how did you discover the time God wants to destroy the universe and start over, which is the same answer. Oh, okay. So not only invading the time God's privacy, but you also discovered you're about to be erased along with everything else.

Speaker: Yeah, so I'm gonna make this full drink Coors Light, and then I'm gonna erase all of the existence or something that's bad, so. Cool. Yep, that seems like you're pretty motivated there. I mean, sorry if you like Coors Light. I don't like Coors Light that much. At least it's not for nanny daddies. I don't know. Nanny daddies. This is the worst beer ever.

Speaker: Cool. Okay, up next is the mystic cat, Harley. That's me. Yeah. I'm a cat. That's a crime. How dare you? Yeah, yeah. So yeah, what was your time crime?

Speaker: I stole something from the time, uh, gods, you know, a shiny trinket or a shiny bauble that I now carry on my studded sparkly pink collar that I wear around my neck. And just, just for clarification, listeners, I'm literally a cat. Remember when we played Cats of Cthulhu? I'm a cat now. Meow.

Speaker: I can turn into other things, but I'm, I'm starting as a base cat. Well, a cat that knows a lot of magic though. Yeah. Can I, we didn't clarify this. Can I talk? Am I a cat that can talk? Uh, if you want. Okay. Can I talk telepathically? Uh, yeah. Yeah. Again, if you feel like it. Excellent.

Speaker: I've known a few people playing the Mystic Cat who just didn't want to talk to humans. I mean, that's me in real life. I don't want to talk to humans in real life. Cool. And what was the other... I actually know from your email, the question that you chose to answer was, when you were a servant of the Time God, what made you betray it and become a rebel?

Speaker: Yeah, I'm a cat, right? I am the master of the universe. I am the master of all. So I betrayed him because I want to be time cat. I want to take over. Cool. Okay, next up is glad Gary the Road Warrior. So your time crime.

Speaker: Well, my time crime was that I tried to eat the time God And he was not very happy when I finally found the right guy So there was some unfortunate Accidental eatings of people who turned out to not be the time God and

Speaker: Well, I mean, I was going to eat them anyways. I just thought they were the Time God at the time. No pun intended. Cool. And which of the questions did you answer? The question that was, what rival of the Time Gods sent me to kill it and what am I getting out of the deal?

Speaker: Well, you see the Egyptian god Apep showed up and he told me that I would get the internet back out of this damn apocalypse if I went and killed the time god for him. And I thought, what better thing could I do to kill him than to eat him and steal his time powers too? Seems fair. Yeah. So far no good, no time powers. Oh, I got to lick them.

Speaker: Yeah. So, uh, and lastly, Baxter, the Astrochimp. He is Baxter. That's me. So what, what time crime did you commit? I stole time cubes from an international time station in space. Cool. I won't ask what they do. I'm sure it's bad. Yep.

Speaker: Okay and yeah I think when they when you were banished to the Null Zone probably the time cubes were confiscated sadly. Yes. And which of the other questions did you want to answer for me? Let's see here I think I'm not in character right now. Which one did I do? Which one?

Speaker: How did I discover the time God wants to destroy the universe? I was in bar on asteroid and old man tell me all these things about time gods. I didn't even know there was a time god but he tell me a lot of things and I start looking it up on the internet because we have internet where I'm from because there's much technology and I start to think maybe this is true.

Speaker: So I start doing space fire thing and taking time cubes and all these other things, trying to do bad for the time code. Yep. Cool. I like that it was a weird old guy in a bar who put you on your quest. Okay.

Speaker: I think then we're ready to begin. We'll take it slowly just so you can get the hang of the roles and things as we play them. But how I like to kick off each scenario once we've got those initial things sorted out is we're going to start off with a pretty easy fight, and then we're going to get into your quest to destroy the Time God as a whole. So at the moment, the four of you have kind of found each other stuck in the Null Zone. It's actually

Speaker: quite easy to find other people in the null zone because it doesn't really have any space or things in it. So like the people tracked there are basically what there is. So you've been commiserating for some time when a bunch of rather unpleasant looking chaps

Speaker: well, not chaps and chappesses appear in the like, get walked into the null zone. And they appear to, they don't look friendly, shall we say. So first, there's a large group of like saurian, saurian spear bearing warriors. And

Speaker: Warping in at another location is some robe -wearing, laser -sword -bearing, long -haired, kind of mystical -looking people. Some of them are humans, some of them are aliens. But yeah, they kind of appear, they look like they were expecting to see you, and they start coming for you.

Speaker: Oh, my. They look like characters. I played World of Warcraft way back then. Okay, then. So, I mean, we have all of our weaponry and such, too, then? So they're carrying weapons? Yes. Oh, excellent. Yep. What an idiot. Yep. No, you do get banished to the Null Zone with... Aside from the Time Cubes being taken back, the Time God didn't bother with your regular gear. They also mean... Oh. I have a crashed starship. They just dumped that in here, too.

Speaker: Yep, so you're standing next to your broken spaceship. Yay, my car is here too. Yep, the car is here too. Can I ask real quick, what does the null zone look like? Because I imagine it being like no gravity, just black, you know, like nothing, like no air. So we suffocated already or something. I don't know.

Speaker: I'm seeing it as a featureless gray plane with a kind of vague glow for a sky. There's not really air here, but nor is the vacuum. So you don't suffocate. It's just like a strange sensation of things not being quite right. It's the same with time passing. It doesn't really seem to, but yet you feel like you've been here a while and

Speaker: in terms of space, like if one of you wanders off to explore, you just kind of find yourself back where you were without really knowing how you got there. It's a very odd and strange place. I've been trying to find a bathroom this whole time. There are definitely no bathrooms. David. So we're standing on like a land of some kind. We're not floating. I've been filling up my cargo shorts pockets. It does seem to be a floor of some sort. There's a floor of some kind, yeah.

Speaker: Okay, so when we're playing in Roll20 you can see there's a line of tokens for each character who's active. The slug guys at the bottom are standing in for our Saurian Warriors and the group of fantasy mercenaries are standing in for our Space Knights.

Speaker: So basically, we'll take turns in the order that you are. So person at the top will take the next turn. They're basically there purely randomly from when I set it up. So if you'll let me demo on the thing. So when it's your turn, you'll shift yourself out the way, move everyone else up. You'll do your thing, whatever it is, and then you put yourself back at the bottom for next time. So everything will happen, you know,

Speaker: one turn after the other. And that manifests not just in combat, but through any action you take. We'll just take your turn on the queue and go back to the back. You can, any time you want, spend two of your store of energy to take the next turn, regardless of whose turn it was supposed to be. Oh. OK. OK.

Speaker: So anytime you feel like you don't want the bad guys to have a turn or don't want one of the other heroes to have a turn, you are welcome to say, I'm going to spend a couple of energy and jump to the top of the queue. Is that even after we've had a turn and we go to the bottom? Yep. You can even do it just after someone has spent their two energy to jump to the top. You could then spend two of your energy to jump to the top. Take that David. You need your energy back.

Speaker: The game, one of the actions you can do is a recover action, which will allow you to recover a little bit of either your energy, power, or health. Also, we chop the quest up into sections, which I call verses. And at the end of each verse, once you've completed it, you'll get to level up and recover quite a lot. Sweet. Go nuts. Heavy metal. Yeah.

Speaker: And while we're on that topic, and before we get into this first fight, the first fight doesn't quite count as a verse, so you won't get a recovery after that. After that, I've got some suggested verses with objectives for you to do, but you're welcome to come up with your own. If you've got an idea of something you'd like to try out, you can throw that to me and say, we're going to go do this thing, as long as it will be something that helps you on your quest to kill the Time God.

Speaker: And I can quickly come up with the photos you'll face on that. So don't be afraid to do that if you feel the urge. And then finally, when you feel that you're ready and you've leveled up enough, you can go to the showdown against the Time God, which will be the big final epic fight. Yes. And like I say, that's your choice when you want to do that. So although I guess we may be time constrained this morning.

Speaker: So we'll figure it out. We can bear that in mind, too. Cool. Yeah. All right. So it looks like that's Troll Hunter up first, right? It is the Monster Hunter, et cetera, et cetera, up first. So do you want to quickly introduce what you look like, maybe say a bit about your background that you've told the other heroes by now, and then say what you want to do about these space knights and saurian warriors?

Speaker: All right, well, he looks like he's wearing endgame monster hunter deer. I think, like, if he played monster hunter, we'll just say he's wearing, like, a full Nergigante set. Because I get dragon scale vest, so there you go. And he has an epic spear, which is just a insect glaive. So you get to deal with that, Michael.

Speaker: So yeah, because the insect slave, you know, you get like a bug that you shoot out of it and it does stuff. And also you get to pole ball it and do air dashes and all that. That's really cool. So we're going to use that. Cool. All right. So background. Yeah, you know, he's an end game monster character. So he's hanging out with the Time God because the player has since dropped the game and doesn't play anymore. So all of a sudden he has to tell the Time God he's here. Yeah. Yeah.

Speaker: In the Nullzone, I'm sure he's been in the Nullzone before, you know, nothing new. Wait for the next session. All right. So yeah, in terms of these like Saurian guys, I mean, they just look like normal monsters, probably not even like monsters, right? They look like, imagine like Iron Age European warriors, but also Saurian. So, you know, they've got like spears and shields and stuff.

Speaker: Oh, interesting. And they're wearing clothes. All right. Well, I think that he would just start out by jumping up into the air and probably diving down at them, you know, doing some kind of spin or something and trying to stab one of them in the head. That would be his go -to. Okay.

Speaker: So you're taking a turn to attack the Saurian Warriors. Cool. I'm going straight in there. Yep. So I'll move you down to the bottom because you've taken your turn. Okay. So what you want to roll is, uh, your spear, I guess is a strong attack. Yep. So we're all so strong, strong, basic.

Speaker: Do you want to spend some energy to boost it up and do some extra damage at this stage? Yeah, I think I did describe it as using energy. Cool. So spend one energy, which will do the overdrive. So it's still a basic role. So you'll get your assets, so list the weapons you're using. So just the 10, wait, no, it's a d10. Yep. Yep. So just one d10 for the spear.

Speaker: Okay, submit. Overdrive one. Overdrive one. Yep. Just simplify using it. 15. Awesome. 15. Wow. Okay. Now before I'll say this gang of Saurian warriors, there's like 30 of them, right? So big, big group you've dived into and started hacking. Okay. They are gonna. Yep. Okay.

Speaker: So one of the options when you get attacked by someone is you can spend an energy to boost your defense, which they are doing because that looks pretty devastating. So they are. They're doing that headfirst into this big old pile. Yep. Yeah. Awesome.

Speaker: Okay, here's what they get for their defense. Ooh, five, that's pretty good for them. Cool. Okay, so these gangs, by the way, in this game I called a gang of unworthy foes. That means for each point of damage you do to them, which you did nine, you kill one of them.

Speaker: do you want to describe the whirling death storm that you create as you annihilate nine of these saurians? Yeah, so I mean, I just dive the fuck in there, right? And take out one, obviously, right? And then the one you land on, I presume.

Speaker: Yeah, yeah, he just straight into his head done, right? And then there is fortunately, you know, there are a lot of like spinny attacks. So yeah, just starts literally just like flicking that thing around. And I'm assuming because they're unworthy, they just fly off in 20 different directions or whatever. Yeah, yeah, absolutely. So yeah, so it's basically, I think. Cool.

Speaker: Okay, that's the action done. With the cat's turn. Yep, it is Harley the cat's turn. What would you like to do? I'm going to take a turn and when I use my special ability, my feline form, I just spend a power and transform, right? Correct.

Speaker: Okay. Can I basically just transform into a big ass cat and jump into the fray with the monster hunter, et cetera, et cetera, and just start clawing the shit out of people? Okay. So are you just going to be like a giant version of your like tuxedo cat looking form or are you going to be like a lion or a tiger or something? Um, I want to be a big, uh, I want to do the saber tooth tiger. Cool. And I imagine they look kind of like,

Speaker: They're a lot thicker in the front than like our normal tigers that we're used to. You know, they're very beefcake up front. Yeah. And so when I jump in, I want to just be like swiping claws back and forth and cleaving bitches down. Sounds good. My bite and claw is fast, basic. And then my asset is a D10.

Speaker: Sounds right. And then, oh, I used one power, so I should mark that off. And then I do want to do the overdrive as well and use an energy in there. Let's see if I did this right. What do I do? That looks right.

Speaker: 11 I guess that better spend some more energy and Try and resist some more of That death is a defense that you do like the the the difference between the two numbers is the damage that's done Correct. Yeah, gotcha And they they do have like one They do have one intrinsic defense I gotcha

Speaker: we got to cut through all that you said you're flopping on the saurians too so you guys want to obliterate that that pile yep okay so they get a five again so you also uh so you kill six of them oh damn just swiping back and forth roaring just i assume you've got to bite one and a half at least

Speaker: Yes, and when I do transform, I still keep my pinky, my pink sparkly collar with the studs. Oh, yeah, yeah, definitely. Yeah, you got to be stylish. Yeah, of course. Yeah. Cool. Okay, glad Gary. Oh, yeah. I'm going to hop into my vehicle, my interceptor, and I'm going to put on my tenacious DCD and crack that shit all the way up. Yeah, feels the boss is playing.

Speaker: And I'm going to run straight towards those sons of bitches in the robes and see if I can boast them down. Cool. Now I'm just going to have to remind myself exactly how you're using your vehicle works. I think it just gives you... Yeah, it says it's a D10 speed, D8 rugged, and D6 danger. So I guess if you're running them over, you can use the danger level, right? Yep.

Speaker: That's fine. I didn't know how I was going to be using it. So I just thought maybe speed would be more efficient, but you know. Yeah. So basically take, Oh, if you just, yeah, if you're doing a high speed, like slam, let's do speed for the first one and danger after that. Yeah. I'll take it. I'll take any charity you give me. Yeah. I think, I think you can, um, like the first one can be speed because you're just blasting straight into the group. But after that, you're probably going to have to be stopped slowing and swerving and that sort of thing.

Speaker: Sure. That makes sense. Would that be fast basic? Which attack do you want to use? Oh, actually, I guess it isn't one of the attacks you've got listed. So yeah, fast. Fast and then for the asset, the interceptor's D10 speed. Although my fast basic says it's a D6 in the standard character sheet. I don't know if it'll roll a D10 for my interceptor. You can type in D10. Type it in as an asset.

Speaker: Yeah, I just... Oh, okay, okay, okay, yeah, okay, I'll do that. So it'll be real fast, basic, and so for asset, I just type in 1d10. Yep. Are you going for the Saurians as well? No, I'm going after the people in the robes. Yep. They are space knights because I didn't want to mess with any trademarks here. Space knights, yeah.

Speaker: And then over, can I overdrive this too? Yes, if you spend an energy. I will do that. Let's make that happen. Yeah, so I just type in one there. Yep. Boom, 11. Okay, I guess they had also better try and defend themselves from that. Just stay right there, you robed sons of bitches. I'm about to bow you down, glad Gary style.

Speaker: This guy sucks. He makes the nose hurt in 10 times worse. So they are defend... Seven. Seven. So you get four of them. Most of them do crazy somersault jumps out of the way just before you hit them. Even if they weren't looking the way you are. But yeah, you do take out four of them though.

Speaker: We're just smashing straight through them. Yeah, I'm just trying to clean up through the other side. Excellent. Cool. Yeah, I'll take it. Okay, Baxter. Spiced tube. All right. Now, I don't really want to say anything to them, but I would like to speak before I do any sort of actions because that kind of goes me in any way. All right. No, no, no, go for it. Okay, cool.

Speaker: So I see all this happening, I just see these people just appear out of nowhere and then all these people I've been forced to hang out with for the past, indeterminate amount of time or just automatically attacking them and I just go, wait, what is, what the hip? Oh. Oh, they did look like they were coming to attack you, so. Okay, okay, it was very, okay. In that case, all these space hippies with their long hair. I'm gonna pull out my I have my own laser sword. I'm gonna run after glad Gary's dust trail. Cool.

Speaker: That's the sound of my laser sword. So I guess it says, laser sword is a d10 fast attack, so I roll for my fast first and then use that as an asset under fast. Correct, yeah. Fast basic, one d10, my bad. No overdrive, thank you very much. Eight! That's a big fat eight. That's pretty good.

Speaker: I guess they will try and defend themselves again because they better. They've still got a few energy left. I will point out that because these guys are unworthy gangs that they are they don't have that much energy to spend. So you're going to wear them out pretty quick. OK, so you get three of them with your laser sword. I guess there's got to be a big chimp versus space knight laser sword jewel here.

Speaker: Yeah, I'm only like three feet taller ever called chimps are so I'm like I'm not nice. I'm not like yeah, so basically I'm just I'm just gonna run up to him and jump on I'm like Okay, now my ringtone

Speaker: Next up is the Saurian Warriors, who are angrier than they started now. Okay, so it was the Monster Hunter and the Mystic Cat attacking, who were attacking the Saurians, right? So they are going to attack both of you back.

Speaker: Because there's a gang of them, they can tag it both of you, right? Lots of them, two of you. The bit that's good for you is that they're pretty useless, so. Fortunately.

Speaker: Okay, and let's use spear and teeth because they're not going to have much more chance to do anything. Yeah, their attacks are an iron spear and their claws and teeth. So the Monster Hunter and Mr. Cat each take three health damage reduced by any physical or universal defense you've got listed.

Speaker: I have Arcane Wardlings, but I feel like that probably doesn't stick in here. Does it say it's a Mystical Defense or is it Universal? Two Universal Defense, Arcane Wardlings. Yep, nope, that works. Universal protects you against everything. So how much damage? One for you. Was it three minus two? Is that what's happening?

Speaker: Yeah, yeah, three minus the two for your defense. Yep, that's one as well. So the monster hunter, how are you doing? I have a dragon scale vest, which is two universal damage, so I only take one. Cool. Okay. I will point out now one extra rule that might make one of you want to spend an energy. If your defense exceeds the damage you would have taken, you get a free counter attack on them.

Speaker: So if you want to spend an energy and roll the die and hope you get more than the three, you'll get to slam them back immediately. Yeah, I'll save it for now, maybe next time. It's good to know that. I'll take one damage. Yeah, no, I just wanted to make sure you knew the option was there because it did. OK, so that was their turn. Not a very effective one because they're useless. OK, space knights with their long hippie hair.

Speaker: Again, because there's two of you and still 13 of them, they are going to target both of you. They are going to use overdrive because they've got an engine left to spend on it. And they're attacking you with their laser swords.

Speaker: Woah! Oh wow, they roll a high number! Awesome roll. I'm going to be using it underneath the defense. Okay, so 13 health damage unless you want to boost your defense. Yeah, so if you're spending an energy, you get to roll because it's a physical attack, you can roll either fast or strong and any other rollable assets you might have that

Speaker: could help but I have a sassy robot does that come into play at all yeah I think you could use your sassy robot for defense against these no you didn't yep so so include that as an asset all right all right I'll roll my fast so yeah basic roller bustle strong yeah

Speaker: I mean the disaster has a d6 so I might as well use it. Oh, I got four. I'll come on sell my sister about did a lot of the work So I get to universal defense it since I'm in my car, right And an appropriate vehicle died to every role So that's still a lot that I'd be taking even in my car Does my universal defense stack with my jacket to give me three defense? Yes, I

Speaker: Okay, sick. So I already have three, so I gotta just get a little bit less than that. So I can spend an energy to try to buffer that. Do I spend it from speed or rugged, uh, from the vehicle? Uh, I think either would be appropriate here. Well, I'm still, I'm still trying to tear ass through them. So I'd still say just sucking it up. Yeah. Okay. Um, so that would be roll fast basic again. Yep. Uh, and then I would add my car, right?

Speaker: Yeah. Boop, boop, boop, boop, boop. So that's one energy burn, yeah? Yeah. OK. How do you do overdrive? Is that also energy? That's been another energy, yeah. OK, I don't know if I want to burn that much. That's fine. I only rolled a three, oh my god. Well, at least you've got three already, so. Three universal plus that, I guess six, seven.

Speaker: Okay, so you both take some pretty bad hits from the Space Knights. Hey, nobody scratches my car but me! Laser swords are pretty bad news, it turns out. Okay, now... The Monster Hunter, you are up again. Okay, I'm gonna... How many of these guys are left? 15. Like, not many. 15?

Speaker: Oh, we can do that again. I'll spend another point of energy to beat the hell out of him again. Yup. I'm going to roll my strong basic. My asset. Not 10 beat 6, but 1. You got 10 beat 10? Overdrive of 1. Case in it. I only hit the 8. Great. Excellent. Okay, so you're cool.

Speaker: You kill seven of them. They've got no more energy left to spend on extra defense. So yeah. I make a chest to Bob just until seven of them. Oh my gosh. Wow. They're all stuck on that insect spike. Yeah. Did you somehow line them all up in a line or did you just chase them all and just get them down further on the sphere? I definitely traced him. Excellent.

Speaker: Cool. Harley the Mr. Cat, you are up. Okay. I'm still Big Angry Kitty. I'm still Saber Tooth Kitty. Let's see here. And there are eight Saurians left. Okay. Am I close to the Knights or am I closer to the Saurians? I think you could leap over and fight the Knights if you want, but you were amongst the Saurians before.

Speaker: Okay. Can I springboard off the Saurians over to the Knights and then do damage to both of them? If you want to spend some energy, some power to channel and magically boost yourself. Yeah. I think that would be fair. Okay. Would that still be bite and claw? So it would be channel fast. Yes. Yeah. So you spend two power to channel and then you use the channel roll formula instead of the basic one.

Speaker: So it basically means you get to add the best two dice out of your roll instead of take the best one. Also, if you want, you can spend extra power to add, like for each extra power you spend, you add a copy of your Eldritch die into the roll as an extra asset. So that would give you, if you want to really boost your chance of doing tons of damage.

Speaker: Okay. Um, for now I'm just going to try it normally. So it would be fast channel. It's still bite and claw. So it's still one D 10. Yep. And then I'm not going to spend the power for the overdrive. Yep. Um, I'm just gonna, yeah.

Speaker: Oh yeah, you see the other. I'm just gonna try and springboard off these wimpy dudes and land on the not so wimpy dudes. Yep. Cool. I did something. A nine. Okay, how do you want to divide that nine damage between the Saurians and the Space Knights?

Speaker: I think I just want to like squish one Saurian and use the squish from him to hit the space knights. So probably more on the knights. Yep. No, that's cool. Okay, so you squish one as you leap off him towards the space knights. And then once you land amongst the space knights, you take out six of them. Cool. Just angry, spinning around, roaring, slapping.

Speaker: Chewing, landing on people. Have we ever seen you do this before? In our idle time here in the know -so. The entire time you have known Harley, she has been a tiny two -pound calico kitten. By God, that's a big kitty cat.

Speaker: And now she's a giant chest forward beefcake cat. I don't know. She doesn't skip front leg day. Cool. Uh, okay. Glad Gary, you are up next.

Speaker: A quick question. Is there a mechanism or a way that we can do team up moves in some capacity? Yes, there is. If you want to help someone else, you can contribute dice to their role. For each of your dice you contribute, you move yourself one step down in the action queue. Okay.

Speaker: Yeah, it's called the pit the list where your tokens are to who gets it reaction So yeah, so you move one step down in the pit But each die you give to someone to roll and they just count it as an extra asset on their roll Gotcha. Kind of what I want to do is I want to yell monkey man jump out. Oh

Speaker: And I want to drive my car like around towards where her Baxter is. See if I can get him to jump on my antenna or something and see if I can just do like a swinging like swirling 360 monkey knife spin or something. Cool. Oh, do you want to figure out what dice you want to give to Baxter and then you can move yourself. We can move you that many steps down the pit. What do you think would be the most I'm just trying I'm going more so just for like just.

Speaker: like stunts, like this big old 360 burnout stunt to get him to be able to jump on and cut some things. Would that be speed or rugged? I think rugged feels fair to me. Okay. If you're doing like lots of burnouts and things. Yeah. Yeah. I'm just trying to do some tricks. You could also contribute some of your weapon dice if you want, if you're like shooting as well.

Speaker: Yeah, you know what? Actually, I have a giant femur from one of my bigger meals that I use as a bludgeoning weapon. I can also hang it out the other side and swing it from the driver's side as he's doing that. So you're going to give Baxter a D8 for the rugged of the interceptor and what for the D6? I believe it is a D6 for my strong attack for my femur. So you'll go down two.

Speaker: Okay, and Baxter, it's your turn and you've got an extra D6 and D8 asset on whatever you're doing. All right, so I see I hear him yell at me. So I'm going to hop up. Should I show you? We were only going to try to hop onto his car. No, I know. You can just do that. That's just metal enough. We're going to do it. All right, cool. Yeah. Let's last you sons of bitches up, monkey man. You know, I'm just screaming.

Speaker: I'm going to spit out my fucking water. Because there was never any classical training on the laser sword for the chimps or not. He was just shot at space. Did you just pick that up in your space pirating days? Or did they just put it in your capsule just in case? They probably didn't do that. Yeah, I probably found it because I realized that being an experiment in space wasn't good. I wanted to do cool things instead.

Speaker: And I just use my chimp range to swing it around, so yeah. All right, we're on my fast, basic, and how do I add all these extra things to that? In the asset section, just write each die with a comma in between them. Yes, yes, yes, yes. So it's a D6 and a D8 from me, plus whatever you're doing. That's my sword, the D10, one D6, one D8.

Speaker: For all the femur and the driving and this man. I hope you're all high. We got to just kill all these nerds Overdrive hmm. That's power, isn't it? No, it's energy What's power for is that just magic and stuff? Yeah, which is when you channel a role you basically put your magic power into it Also, a lot of people's special abilities or cost of power. It's one one energy for one overdrive, right? Yep. I'm just

Speaker: I don't like these. I've met many a space laser sword hippie in my day and they're... Justin, if it helps, Tenacious D's Karate is currently playing. I love this classic song. 13 baby. Okay, the two of you annihilate the remaining space knives.

Speaker: Okay. Chopping them in half, chopping their heads off, stabbing one in the eyeball. I hit one of the femur with my femur. Looks like it's whacked by the front fender. Yeah, that was like seven of them you just took out, so. And for the extra damage, I'm just still swinging. Okay, there's one more thing. Those are the space nerds, right? The space nerds.

Speaker: Cool. Now, when you defeat a foe, you get a bonus. So Baxter, you just defeated an unworthy foe gang. You can either gain a new d4 asset or one defense, or increase the value of one of your assets up to the next die level. So you could turn your laser sword, what was it? It's d8 at the moment.

Speaker: into a d10 you can turn it into a claymore laser sword I say at least on that oh I'm using it I've been using a d10 because the sheet I have says d10 but anyway so yes let's just say I'll upgrade my laser sword to a d10 since I've been doing that yep done and there's one other thing you can do which is restore a reduced value which

Speaker: hasn't come up yet because that's based on when you roll a critical which you have rolled some against the bad guys but no none they haven't rolled any against you yet so oh actually technically one of them did but oh i forgot about it at the time so you're safe for now so basically um if any of when you when you make a roll if any of your dice show an eight or higher you do a critical

Speaker: which the effect of that is you get to narrate something extra and reduce their dice for the future. So basically like knock down their ratings or knock their assets out of their hand or whatever. So you can like - Wow. Yeah. So I'll try to remember to keep an eye out for that so far. Yeah. This part of the fun of my teeth is - They roll maximum on one of the dice. So a 600 D6, an 800 D8.

Speaker: No, actually, that's one of the rules that's in Flux. Because that's annoying to remember, I just changed it. So it's if any dice show an eight or higher. Okay, gotcha. So you can't... It's one of those ideas where...

Speaker: I liked the idea that you could roll it with like steadily increasing chances, the bigger the die was, but that means you need to like look it up for each different kind of dice. So that's just too annoying. Yeah. So yeah, if you, if something shows an eight or higher, in fact, Baxter's roll, the last one did. So if any of them had survived, you could have said, Oh, well, I want to like reduce their fast or something. Um, and that would get temporary knocked down for them.

Speaker: I want to cut off all of their big toes so they're not as fast. Yep. Cool. Okay, away from the rules bit. It's now the saurian warriors turn and they have only got the monster hunter left to fight at the moment. So they're doing that. Yeah. How many of them are left? Seven. Seven on one. That's like, I feel bad for them.

Speaker: Yeah, pretty much. Yeah, I feel bad for those weenies. Oh my goodness. Oh, seven. They get a pretty good roll. Seven. So that is seven damage on you minus any of your physical defenses. I'll just soak it. Yep. He's going to take it. Yeah, you got that Nergigante armor. Yep. And now it is Glad Gary's turn again.

Speaker: As you didn't go all the way down because you were just helping. God, the helpful guy. Uh, his backs are still on the, on my car. Uh, unless you want to jump off back stuff. Uh, no, uh, I, in fact, I'll, uh, take one of my hurt and always slip in the basket seat if we're still going. You gotta ride shotgun. And now I wish I had a shotgun. So I can give it to you. I have a blaster. I just haven't been using it.

Speaker: Oh, dude. I just went chimp raging right in there swinging. That's great. Yeah. So since the troll hunter's turn is after mine, I guess so is his. I mean, I could go over and do an assist for him. I'm like, I don't want to get out of my car. Yeah, no, no, that's fine. I think you can just add the help dice and move down again. Yeah, I think I'm going to do that. I'm just going to go and just kind of see if I can

Speaker: Since the Monster Hunter trademark, they're very agile and they don't break any limbs and they're super strong. They can jump off of high places. I'm just going to see if I can snag Monster Hunter while he's fighting, or Troll Hunter while he's fighting, and see if I can't fling him into the group or something like that. See if I can kneecap some fools on my way past. So that'll be another D8 and D6 for the Monster Hunter?

Speaker: Yeah, watch out troll hunter you rock up All right. I'm gonna in response to that yelling. I will just jump on top of the van Whatever vehicle he has and uh, yeah I imagine it looks like the blues brother's car my brain Is it on the commission police vehicle probably shittier I'll jump over it. I'll let you I'll let you kill a couple and then i'll just you know

Speaker: do my thing, which was using the dead bodies of the Saurians that are on my spear and flicking them at their comrades. Oh, that's so good. You just jump up from the car and just fling them down at people. Nice. Yeah, basically. That's so good. That's so good. I'll just roll my strong basic, right? And then for the asset, 1d10. Just copy that. Plus the d6 and d8 from Claire Gary.

Speaker: Refine my sheet, which is gone. So, plus, that is not doing yield comma, right? Yeah, right. It would just be the D6 comma, whatever. Yeah. Yeah. Commas between each of them. Commas, all right. So then you still just choose the highest? Yeah. Okay. So a D6 and D8? The overdrive. Yeah.

Speaker: Okay. I'm just going to do 1d6. Yeah. 1d8. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. All right. Yeah. Submit. I will overdrive it just to make sure I kill all of them. Kill all of them. 11. 11. So then they all die. You got an eight. You got a great one. They do indeed all die. Yeah. You would have got a crit, which would have been handy if they were not all dead, which they are. Cool. Okay. So again,

Speaker: Uh, you get to, you have defeated an unworthy foe gang. So you get to, uh, gain an asset. Now I believe as a troll killer, you get two. I can spend a, oh wait. Oh yeah. Yeah. Uh, if you take their parts, you get, um, uh, an, an extra amp. So we're.

Speaker: Most people would get a new asset at D4. You could like take a new one at D6 or increase existing ones twice. Sick. What is increasing then? Well, just boost up to the next die level. So what was your spare at D8? D10. No, D10. So you can make that a D12. You know? That's good. All right. But you can do that twice. I can do that twice.

Speaker: Yep, as your trochula special ability, you're especially good at getting bits from dead things and boosting your gear. Yeah, he is. I just started carving all these guys up. The quest completion dialogue comes down, I got 60 seconds to get out of there, you know? Carve up as much as you can. What do I carve off these guys that improves my sphere? Up to a D14.

Speaker: No, we max out at D12 sadly. D14? What's a D14? I mean, I guess on roll 20 we don't have to, but yeah. D12 is probably good enough. I would put the other one into something else. If you're boosting up a defense, it just adds one to it. Okay, so, all right, so I get an additional, so I get three universal defense and then a D12 and I spear. Okay, cool, that's awesome.

Speaker: What is amping? That's increasing its level by one. So that's what you just did. So now you're once again alone in the null zone. Okay, so now we're starting the quest part proper. So we're going to do

Speaker: You're going to pick a verse to do, which is going to be like a step along the way of the quest, after which you'll get to level up. My suggestion is that the first thing you need to do is escape from the Null Zone. Although if any of you have got a better idea, you're welcome to do that.

Speaker: Well, glad Gary's not particularly smart. I think he's just going to take out it, get out of his vehicle and just start whacking the ground. See if we can dig his way out of there with his, with his fever. Get him out of here. I'm trying to get out of the bucket, man. You got a better idea.

Speaker: Can we fly out of here with your spaceship or something? Is that your spaceship? No, he is a car. Animal should not talk. I'm still a big cat. I'm still a big beef cat. So I'm just going to go walk over to the chimp and stare him down.

Speaker: I have a gun. I will shoot you again. No one says me. I haven't done it before. I have shotgun. Everybody get the spaceship. Is there room for my car there? It does not fly. I tell you every day, Gary. Do you want to try and figure out a way to fly the spaceship out of the null zone? I would love to do that disembodied voice from the sky. Cool. Okay. So, um,

Speaker: What I'll do is I'll put that as an objective for you. By the way, out of the delzode. Do any of those bodies have keys on them or something? Well, I think your spaceship is broken, so you'll need to repair it. OK. So basically, the objective in a verse here

Speaker: It has some health, just like it was an enemy, which anything that will help get you to that goal, you roll the dice and reduce its health by that amount. Oh, that's cool. Makes sense. So we just treat it as like achieving goals is just they have hit points, essentially, and you can knock it down. Cool. So we'll take actions. Actually, and it should be down there as you took your action. We'll take actions as normal.

Speaker: But you can also devote them to doing something that will help you repair the spaceship, make a portal out of the null zone, anything like that. And while that's happening, I believe we are going to have the Time God sending some other things after you. Oh no. I have to reuse my slugs here. Stupid snail.

Speaker: Basically, like those other groups phased in a little while ago, if a while ago makes any sense, you get to see this kind of a group of ghostly looking people who have appeared in the same way and are coming towards you looking hostile. And I'll just reserve this big beastie looking thing off the side. It's not gonna appear just yet, but well, it's going to, so.

Speaker: So yeah, so glad Gary, oh, sorry, no. Harley, it is your turn to do something about getting out of the Null Zone or possibly dealing with these ghosts. Meow? Meow. Do giant cats eat ghosts? I don't know.

Speaker: so can i still hiss as a big ass cat i mean yeah i think so yeah why not it's more of a roar i suppose um that i'm gonna aim it your choice which yeah yeah i'm gonna aim it at the dudes the ghosty dudes who are coming towards us and i'm gonna use hiss curse at them

Speaker: Like sort of pacing back and forth with me in between the bad guys and the, the, the dummies that I'm with. Um, and just sort of, which is Eldritch. Is it a channel? Cause it's a spell or is it just still basic? Um, it's real.

Speaker: channel if you want to boost it up so you can like just narrate it being magic without having to spend anything but if you want to actually boost the effect then i'll do basic uh pacing back and forth yelling at the pop of my cat lungs um let's try this i'm not gonna use any overdrive yet but very cool if you could just scare all the ghosts away

Speaker: So is your objective here to destroy them or are you just like scaring them off for the time being? I'm trying to kind of intimidate them and make them realize it would be a bad idea to continue to come after us. Yeah, you guys want to die again. Just towards the bodies of the stories. Okay, so they back off. So they're not attacking you just yet. Okay. Now you got a critical there. So you are welcome to reduce one of their ratings or

Speaker: some of their assets, if you've got any ideas what you would like that to... Are these the knights? Are these more knights coming after us? No, they look more like just random ghosts from different time periods. Probably a cowboy or two in there. Yeah, there's a cowboy. And there's like a few aliens, you know...

Speaker: So I can choose to produce, like, their Eldritch die, basically? You could, yes. You want to do that? Okay. I feel like spirits would probably use Eldritch, mostly. Especially because my hissing is Eldritch. They do have some Eldritch to be lost, so yeah. Yeah, so let's bump some of that down a little bit. Cool, and...

Speaker: Yep. Sounds good. Do the ghosts look scared? Do they look worried? Do they have expressions or anything? They do. They are definitely worried by this giant mystical saber -toothed tiger. And they are... He spooked the ghosts. Yeah. He scared them. And the effect that I'm going to use is that they're going to basically go back down to the bottom of the pit so they can feed longer till they have a turn.

Speaker: Yeah, that's great. Good stuff. Good stuff. I'm totally gonna go fix that spaceship. Don't you touch my fucking spaceship. Okay. Glad Gary. Um, uh, I'm going to, uh,

Speaker: I think I'm going to get out of my car and run towards the ship. You know, vehicles are kind of glad Gary poured all of his heart into when he lost the internet. So he's going to try to use his cool abilities. I also have an asset that says unlabeled cans. It says it's recovery. I was wondering if one of those could be like a can of oil or something that I could use to put.

Speaker: You know, like for my cars recovery, you know, like the only way to know is to open one. Oh, okay. Glad Gary's all about the mystery. I'm going to go over and, you know, get my tools out my car and, you know, my wrenches and stuff. And as I get over there, like, Oh yeah, I forgot I had these cats.

Speaker: Let's see what's in this bad boy and I'm going to pop it open. Okay. I'll allow you to use your unlabeled cans to help you. Even if it's not motor oil, I mean, it will be a healthy snack or a snack. Okay. Uh, so I'm guessing that would be like cool, you know, cause I'm like trying to like do it like a task. Sounds good. Yep. Okay. Let's see. So would that be roll cool basic? I presume. Um, yeah.

Speaker: I mean, you could badrick it up if you want to spend power. Yeah, let's do it. I'm going to be so good at fixing the shit. I would see this being like, glad Gary's just one of those mechanics who just has a knack for just picking the exact problem. Yeah, this is his life. Yeah. So spend two power. Two power. All right. Boop. And then roll the channel call.

Speaker: Alright, so would it be? Oh, it'd be channel cool. Would I still have the asset dice after? Yes. Yeah, that should come up. So would extra dice be the asset dice? Yeah. Extra is if you want to add some more of your Eldritch dice. So maybe you can spend a power to add Eldritch if you're channeling. Oh, right. Right. Gotcha. Gotcha. Gotcha. Oh, no, I won't do that. That would be 0d6, right?

Speaker: Yep. All right. And then overdrive, would that be the, uh, that's if you spend an energy, right? Uh, the asset didn't come up. They can give me the option to type in the asset. Oh, why don't roll that separately? Just with the regular slash roll with a rolled slash roll D six. Yeah. Okay. Man, I rolled so poorly. Oh my God. Okay. Well, the two and the one.

Speaker: Okay. What did the power do? What did that let me do? Oh, it adds them together, which would have been a bit more exciting if they'd been higher roles. Oh my god. Okay. You know, man. Oh, I think, like, one of the radio antennas is bent, so you straighten that up.

Speaker: Yeah, you got to start somewhere. Oh, that's great. Now we will get serious XM while we are dying. We got to get some good tubes in here while we're doing battle. Okay. That's my luck too. Okay, Bexter, do you want to do something more effective? Yeah, I'm going to walk over there.

Speaker: knock Gary's cans out of his hands. Take a bottle, man. With your peaches and everything you have in there. If you have mashed bananas, let me know, though. Well, I'm not sharing it with you now. Oh, that's true. Yeah. What was in the can? Let me. I'm just going to roll a D12. If it's a 12, it was the motor oil you were looking for. Anything lower will be further away from that as appropriate. Oh, so close. I got a 10. Oh, OK. It was a can of olive oil.

Speaker: I made my hands very slippery. Oh, dang. I started looking at my hands. Come on, get off of me.

Speaker: I'm going to try to deduce what the problem is, since I'm assuming my ship got damaged maybe in the ruckus of me getting taken here. So I don't know. I'm going to use my, I guess maybe, I don't know, cool or Eldritch could work for that. I'll roll cool. I got better than that. So I roll cool and I have a scanner. I'm going to use my scanner, which is a way of D4, but I'm going to use my scanner to help me scan the situation. Oh, as a reminder,

Speaker: The astronaut special ability is you can spend one power to reach into your pocket and grab the perfect thing you need right now What do you find in your pocket that's perfect for repairing the spaceship

Speaker: I want to reach in there. I know I got I know I bought a couple weeks back. I bought a industrial quantum spammer. As we all know quantum means you can do whatever you wanted to do. So yeah, it's just it's just thing you just had all the tools I need. Sort of like a Swiss army knife but like it's

Speaker: impacting like a weird nexus that anything is in there that I need. I bet you've also got the how to fix a spaceship guide manual there. 1D12 for, yeah, my press button manual for a spaceship repair. Oh, okay, that's okay, okay, okay. Okay, yes, this is, that's right. And then I press the button for the tool I need after I do my scan. All right, here we go. No overdrive, that'll be fine.

Speaker: Wow, well, now I got a four. Wow. We're doing awful at fixing this thing. Oh, this book was full of shit. This is not what I need to do. The book is upside down, you idiot. No, I think it's one of those cases where you're looking at the troubleshooting guide in the book, right? And like all the problems it describes are just slightly different from what's wrong with the spaceship. I'm sure you've met that. It's the left -wing, not this. Oh my god, no. If we still had YouTube, this would be done in five minutes.

Speaker: Okay, the Monster Hunter. Okay, well, he doesn't know shit about whatever the fuck that is, right? So, he's gonna walk over there. He's gonna, he doesn't know where it is, all right? Just be honest, all right? You didn't have like space covered in fucking monster hunting school, like, so he comes over to those guys and he looks around at it

Speaker: taps it with this spear and then he looks down at the chimp and when they make eye contact he just like points at himself and then points over at the bad guys and he gently gently taps the chimp on the shoulder and then taps the ship and then nods like a big nod

Speaker: and then starts walking away. That's so funny. You're really like leading into the Monster Hunter. That's the joke. Thank you. Yes. I love it. I didn't know how committed you were going to be. Yeah. Are you going to attack the ghosts as well? Uh, yeah, I'm going to, they've been scared off. Not yet. Like that's the courage back up. Okay. Can I,

Speaker: prepare for an attack then, is that possible? Like maybe, I don't know, I use the recover. You can indeed use a recover action. So I will do that to prepare for when they inevitably attack. Yeah. Okay, so you get to pick one thing. You can either reduce, if you've had any of your dice reduced, you could recover one of them by a level. Or you could recover health, energy or power.

Speaker: I will be recovering energy so that I'm back up to four energy. Cool. Okay. So you roll your Eldritch die and any recovery assets you've got that apply? I have no idea what that is. So I will roll my Eldritch. Let me see. I have a recovery machine, but you walked away from me so. It's not my turn anyway, so I can help you. Oh, yeah. No, I think with the choice you took, you don't have any recovery things. So yeah. Yeah. So just, it'll just be your, um,

Speaker: Eldritch. Yeah, same time. You don't have any hyper potions? What do they call them on most of the week? I forgot what they call those. One. Cool. Okay, so you get that plus one power back. So two total. Right. Okay, so I get two energy? All right, cool. Okay. Oh, were you trying to get energy? Yes. Oh, sorry, you should have rolled your fast in.

Speaker: Eldritch is for power. Yeah. Okay. Ooh, you're getting another shot. Yeah. You can't go any lower than what you did. I have no assets for fast though, so I'm just... Yeah. Still too. Is that good for me? Because as a cat, for a cat, it says for power or energy, it's Eldritch. Is that because I'm cat? No, that's probably one of the bits that I haven't revised up properly yet. Oh, okay. Got it. Got it. Yeah. We were helping.

Speaker: Yeah, so now it's eldritch for power fast for energy. Yeah, sorry more fun of play testing Okay, so you get back to energy yep cool, we're here for Okay Here's some bad news the The goal is basically trying to work to stop you succeeding so what it's gonna do is

Speaker: In this, I mean, it's not really a thing, but, uh, it section is, um, it knows that the null zone is about to be breached as you try to escape. So this, uh, null entity appears. Okay. So basically around you, this, um, this nothingness is suddenly there. Like it's a.

Speaker: a feeling of void and strangeness, even weird for this area. This is a worthy foe, so this null entity is quite a bit tougher than the games you've seen before. Nice sound effect. Yeah, that was really good, that was my car. Okay.

Speaker: And it's peering at the top of the pit, so it's going to get an action right away unless someone wants to jump in front of it. That's what I prepared for. Okay, so it's been to energy. Who is that jumping up? That was the monster hunter. I want to spend a power and find its weak point.

Speaker: Oh, now we're going to see you do what you do best. Yep. Oh, yep, sorry. Can't defend. Cool. Roll your tech. That's awesome. That's just one basic with my D12 bucket. Okay. The other assets you can plug into it.

Speaker: uh i don't need any others i just have my spear it's gonna have to drive it too energy but then i spend a power so yeah no defense oh wow wow okay he's got no defenses and he rolled a 12 crit

Speaker: Yep, okay, which of its ratings or attacks would you like? Well, it's got an attack you could reduce, or some defenses which are not applicable here, or you can go for one of its ratings. I want to just make it hit for less. So you want to get its attack? Yeah, so whatever it attacks with, I want to target that. Yeah, when it's an asset, it gets knocked down two levels, which is quite good for you because it was a d12. Okay.

Speaker: Yeah, so basically you just attack this vortex of nothingness with your megasphere and you feel like it's weakened by the presence of something inside it. Quite a lot weakened, in fact. And now it's going to fight back. Okay. Sorry, what's that?

Speaker: It doesn't look like the image that we are seeing. No, no, no. It's really just like a blackness in the air. Nice. You sense the creature inside. You sense the monster within. Yeah. And it's very, very angry. Okay. The little green flies are all about it. Okay. It's going to take its turn now. It's going to channel and overdrive because you really hit it very hard.

Speaker: Oh no! And it's angry. Erm... Erm... Oh my goodness. Bunkie Bad, hurry up with that wrench, what are you doing? Erm... Erm... Keep forgetting, it's olive oil, keep putting it on the wrong thing. Cool, let's see how it does.

Speaker: OK, so it's been a lot of power to channel there. Wow. So it's a 15. So it's just straight damage. There's no critical. Channeling adds the dice together. That was against the monster hunter. Yeah. Yeah. So it's adding a seven and three together because of the channeling. If it's any consolation, it just blew through about half of its energy and power. You really made it bad.

Speaker: Damn, are you gonna do any extra defense there or just suck that up? I Mean he's just he got a huge attack in I'm gonna say that the thing took attack of opportunity back and

Speaker: You know, except my monster are flying, you know, and I get the little, I'm down on the ground and I get that invulnerability period though. So, uh, going to take 12 for that. Cause I got three units of defense. So I'm at 22. Excellent. Okay. Mr. Cat, you are up.

Speaker: I think I've just been sitting there on the ground, swishing my tail back and forth, and you just see my head watch the monster hunter like fling over me, just like watch him. And I get up, I do a big cat stretch, you know, yawn. And then I'm gonna run and pounce on, if I can, on the big thing. The null entity? Yeah. Sure. Solid, I guess.

Speaker: No, it is not, but you can pounce through it and attack it. Great. I'm sure my cat knowledge allows me to know how to do that magically. Yeah. So I am going to do bite and claw, which is fast, fast, fast, basic. That is a d10.

Speaker: Yep. And then I am going to spend an energy to do the overdrive thingamajig. Yep. And then one overdrive and then click the button and then I accidentally set on rolling dice so I have to actually roll my dice. That's why it takes a while. Yeah. Yeah.

Speaker: Yeah, sorry, I didn't have time to figure out a better solution for the dice rolling for this. I made it too complicated for roll coin tea. Oh, nine damage. Hey, look, we've got something to use. It's all good. Yeah. Nine damage. It is going to try and defend itself from that. That's a physical attack, isn't it? Plate and claws fast, yeah. Oh, defense of a total of five. It's dead.

Speaker: It was mostly a monster hunter, but that glass was already at the edge of the table. You just pushed it off. So here's the thing that, uh, when a worthy foe or a hero dies, they get to take a last action.

Speaker: with any of their remaining abilities and resources. Yeah. So it's going to do that. And it's going to attack the Mr. Cat because you just killed it. Meow. So it's doing an Eldritch attack on you. It's attack is called delete, by the way. Oh no. It's the elite delete.

Speaker: It's just a big backspace button, that's what's inside of there. Cool. Let's see what it can do to you. Oh my god! 18! Okay, how does this defend after an attack when tolling defense prevent all of it? Okay, so spend one energy to roll a rating die and include it in your total. Yep. You want to do that? What rating die is it? This is Eldritch tech, so it'll be cool or Eldritch.

Speaker: Eldritch for sure, because I had a cat. Oh wait, what's my highest? Eldritch Basic. Is that the movie with Walt Smith? I don't have any assets here. No, they usually don't for defense rolls. Mystic Cat helps. You have big teeth and big tail. I'm also gonna, can I overdrive this as well? Yeah, if you want to spend extra energy. Okay, so energy goes down to three.

Speaker: Yeah, so we got two fixers and two fighters over there. Six. Cool. So six plus your regular defense gets reduced? It's two, so it's eight. So you take ten? Ten. It also got a critical on you with that eight. So can you temporarily reduce your Eldritch by a die size please?

Speaker: So if you take a recovery action, you can get that back to normal. So that is quite temporary. Oh yeah, that is the next thing. Yeah. So you killed a worthy foe. So you can either gain a new asset at level one. So that's one defense or D4 off.

Speaker: You can AMP two assets by a level. So that's increasing them to the next eyesize or the next value of a defense or take a free recovery action. So you could just recover your Eldritch right back or grab some new assets. How do I know what assets are available to me? Cause the ones that are listed on my sheet are the ones I have. You can add any new asset you want that makes sense.

Speaker: Yeah. So like a shard of the null entity. Um, it could be something that you've maybe had on you, but hasn't been important until now. Oh, can I get, can I just start collecting shit? So I have my fancy amulet. I can have a prancy shard on my collar too. Yep. Yep. You can put null shard and that will start at a d4.

Speaker: I have no idea what it does, but I've got it. Yeah. I think it'd probably be useful for lots of magic things, right? Yeah. You could probably use that to rip a hole and rip a hole in the space time continuum and get out of here. Maybe. Okay. Um, it's the, uh, ghost's turn now. Yep. Uh, I think what they're going to try and do is they're going to try and start further breaking the spaceship.

Speaker: Oh, you sons of bitches. You back off, ghost. OK. Face off, ghost. So basically, they start phasing into the spaceship and messing with things. I don't like it. Don't talk to my spaceship. Get out of there.

Speaker: Um, if it's any consolation, they are quite bad at it. Like they don't really know what they're doing. Okay. So therefore I'm adding that to the health of the obstacle that you need to defeat. So they've just made it a bit harder for you. I'm pretty much nullified. That nullified everything I did. They re -banked the antenna, damn it. Okay. Glad Gary, you're up.

Speaker: Okay. Could I persuade you to allow me to do a couple of these things? I would like to try another, you know, I realize that maybe the monkey probably the chimpanzee knows a little bit more about his spaceship than I would. So maybe I can kind of play like the assistant to the monkey and be like, you know, your tools and you know, this femur is very hard. So I'll whack all the hard, you know, the harder things that need whacking.

Speaker: So I was wondering if you would allow me to use my femur as an assisted role. Sure. So how many dice are you contributing to then? I guess it would be, would that be my cool plus my femur or? Yeah, or Eldritch plus femur, whichever is better. My cool is definitely better. Yeah. So it would be a D8 and a D6. Yeah. Yeah.

Speaker: Yeah, no, that's good. Monkey Man, I'm going to be your handsome assistant. I whack all the dead sap while you work on that thing over. Here's your tools. Use my tools. This is a half empty can of oil boiler. Use it for something. You're smart. You'll figure it out. Cool. Baxter, you're up with this useful help. I think I'm going to channel this time.

Speaker: Yep. Uh, so that's, that's minus two energy, right? Uh, power. Power. I'm sorry. Power. So two power away. I'm going to channel cool for starters. Um, so I got that. What the, what's, what's, what does that get from you? Glad Gary. Uh, you get a D eight and a D six. Okay. D eight, D six. Uh, and the default for the can of olive oil.

Speaker: Oh yeah, you got the D4. I know you could make good use of it. Wait a second. Oh boy, I can repurpose this. Oh, this is perfect. I can also spend an energy to use my magical power trick. I guess I'll have to re -spend it just so I can use my quantum spammer again. Yeah, yeah, but if you'd just spend another power for it, yeah. I'll do that.

Speaker: Okay. You're going to roll like a 28. Come on. What happens if he crits on this? Does that help? The goal has to die as well, that it will roll if it tries to heal itself up. So you can still reduce that. Neato burrito, chicken takita. And can I put my sassy robot to work too? Go up there and - Sure. I've got way more assets than me. I got to get more stuff. And the robot, of course, will say,

Speaker: Ah, this is a stupid idea. Should've been, you should have me over there doing that. I don't need your lip right now, robot. Get in there. I'm not going to do any overrivers. That's too much. 11. Nice. Oh man. Okay. Um, I think that role gets the spaceship working again. Now you've just got to work out a way to walk out of the null zone.

Speaker: Oh, that's where the olive oil comes in. We've just got to grease it up. We've got to grease ourselves up. Just slide out, yeah. Just slide out the nose. That imagery. Okay, so it's now the objective's turn. So it's got nothing else in particular to do. So it's just going to roll to heal itself up unless someone wants to jump in front by spending energy.

Speaker: I will do that. Is one energy, right? Two. Two to jump ahead. Okay, so that takes me down. Yeah, but I think it is not a bad call because if you can get out of the null zone, then you win this. And if it heals up, it's going to be bad. I wanted to be the cat who just collected everything and never used it. And then I just had this hoard, but you know, life is also important.

Speaker: So I want to use my null shard to poke a hole in the atmosphere. Excellent. Grease it up with the oil. So it's probably an eldritch roll. Okay. Eldritch and I do I I'm gonna use two power to channel it. Yeah.

Speaker: to make it a big magic ritual kind of thing. Yeah, my Eldritch die was reduced to 1d6, but then the sh - wait, no, wait. That's not what I want. I want 1d4, because that's what the shard is. Yep. That's my asset. Okay. And then what is overdrive? Is energy a move? What happens if I go to zero energy? Do I - Uh, you just can't do any more of those things.

Speaker: It doesn't stop you acting, it just means you can't boost yourself up anymore. Yeah, I'll spend my last energy to overdrive and poke a hole in the fabric of the universe. Maybe? Just the null zone, just the null zone! Don't the whole universe! Okay, you rip an enormous rift in the side of the null zone back into the regular multiverse. Yay!

Speaker: Good job, kid. So, yep. You're out. And you can fly that spaceship back into the regular part of the world. Worlds, timelines, etc. Yeah, I'm sure there's room to park the car in the back of the spaceship. Why wouldn't there be?

Speaker: thing we kill no you don't get to take assets from the null zone but you do all get to level up

Speaker: Does it look good already?
