Forest vs Ipswich: Expectations and Threats
00:00:09
Global Sports Podcast Network
Hello and welcome to this Friday forecast episode of Daily Forest, talking about Forest's home game against Ipswich this Saturday afternoon. So Marley, thank you for for joining us as always. Are we looking at this as an easy, straightforward home win, or do you have some some worries and some doubts about the game?
Ipswich's Performance and Relegation Battle
00:00:34
Marley
A pleasure as always to join you Stuart and honestly I don't think there's any such thing in a Premier League as an easy straightforward win home or away. ah I think we're going into this game thinking it's a game that if any is easier to win But Ipswich are off the back of two very, very impressive results the way it took them at home to Manchester United.
Forest's Defensive Challenges
00:00:53
Marley
They are on the up, as some would say, and they're going to be very, very hungry to get a few more results, try and claw themselves back out of that relegation zone and away from that relegation zone, trying to be safe. We all remember how we were when we first got promoted. We were always up for it. We were always desperate for results. Ipswich will be just like that. They are the outsiders this season.
00:01:14
Marley
ah and our games are sort of when they'll be targeting as a game to possibly get something out of, especially when we're off the back of two very disappointing
Contrasting Team Resilience
00:01:22
Marley
performances. So I would not say there's any such thing as an easy game, especially not this one.
00:01:27
Global Sports Podcast Network
I know I think that's more and more wishful thinking from me that I was hoping it would be would be an easy game because I think it's interesting where where forests are at at the moment, purely due to the, as you've you've touched on the previous two games, being disappointing. We previously had what the second best defense of the league and now we've conceded six in two. So I think this industry game is really going to be a barometer of where we are. um Yes, I know they were able to get pick at those three points ah against Spurs on their last away game. But if we, but that can be written off almost as a one off because Spurs then went and followed up from that by winning 4-0 at Man
Significance of Ipswich Game for Forest
00:02:09
Global Sports Podcast Network
City. So we've also got Man City away in our very next game actually. We also got the same those same pictures of Spurs, home home against Ipswich, away against City. I don't think we're going to win 4-0 at City. um So that's why I'm putting maybe too much pressure
00:02:24
Global Sports Podcast Network
on this game again and say, switch.
00:02:27
Marley
Yeah I mean we're in a run of poor form and what I see with run of poor form is the way they should work is I honestly feel like once you're in a run of poor form it takes a lot to get out of it but I don't think it actually becomes a proper run of poor form until the third game.
Ipswich's Underdog Strategy
00:02:43
Marley
I think if you lose that if you have a poor result anyway in that third game it becomes an actual poor run and it becomes difficult to claw your way back into good results but get a good result in that third game and it can just be a little blip you're back on track you're soaring so this is a massive massive game in terms of we need to get a result to say that we're not going to just drift off and we are still up here we are here to compete properly again.
00:03:06
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, I mean, you you mentioned this would be one of the games Ipswich would have been targeting um at the start of the season. ah This might have been pegged down as a relegation six-pointer based on our 17th place finish last year. The fact that Ipswich only snuck up and don't have parachute payments or anything, so they've got still some of their League One players still hanging
Forest's Confidence and League Ambitions
00:03:27
Global Sports Podcast Network
around. But the fact that it's not this relegation six-pointer, we have had this good start, has changed the expectations somewhat. I know that there are are no easy easy Premier League games. We prove that in our first yeah two seasons back up. But if we are ever going to challenge and become a team who are challenging for for for Europe or even challenging for top half, we have to create easy games. We have to go in there with confidence, go in there knowing that on not on paper, our players are better than them.
Pressure on Forest Against Top Teams
00:04:04
Global Sports Podcast Network
um and ensure that we we get the job done. Because you're right, it's two games isn't yet know a bad a bad run, probably three games where it gets to become a bad run.
00:04:16
Global Sports Podcast Network
But again, game four is is Man City. So if we're losing here home against Ipswich, then it's going to be unfortunately a cold a colder winter than then how how warm autumn looked just a few weeks ago.
00:04:27
Marley
Yeah, but Man City Away isn't looking as scary right now and as it has done before, especially if they get done over by Liverpool heavily, which like I have a feeling they will. Yes, they'll be looking for a response, but it's going to be very hard to find that response when you're six games currently without earlaw without a win, seven games if they don't beat Liverpool, and you're coming at home against a side who away from home this season have looked formidable and they've looked so good, especially compared to how we have been in previous seasons away from home.
Analyzing Forest's Poor Form
00:04:57
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, no, that that's true.
00:04:57
Marley
So I would not be surprised to go to the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday and pick up a point at least.
00:04:58
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah,
00:05:03
Global Sports Podcast Network
yeah I think I'm ah so thinking back to um in our middle season in League One, 0-6, 0-7. Yeah, no we weed I think it was Carlisle. I think we we were 11 unbeaten, they were 11 without the win. Of course, we lost 2-0 at home, so I'm still still scarred by that type of thing. So if City do lose against Liverpool, I think they will. You're right, Liverpool looked fantastic yesterday and in the Champions League. um Then, as we're saying, we're now looking to the home picture against Ipswich as a bit of a banker to get us out of ah a small slump. City will be looking at Forest at home as a way of getting themselves out of their slump, especially if we go into the City game as a Forest team with three straight losses, including one at home against Ipswich,
00:05:52
Global Sports Podcast Network
Which is why, um yeah, I think this is, again, getting some, maybe ah artificially important
League Position and Importance of Points
00:06:00
Global Sports Podcast Network
in this game. You're at home against Zip Switch. I mean, we're 10 points clear of the bottom three. we we We should be, we aren't in a relegation battle, but yeah, you never know. This is still one that's to avoid any sort of doubts or worries we we we should be winning.
00:06:17
Marley
Yeah, because um we are only in late November. You know, we're not even halfway through the season yet. You say we're not in a relegation battle. We're not at a minute, but and just a few poor results. We could easily be forwarded back into that sort of territory. So we still got to pick up those points, get to that 40 point mark as quickly as physically possible, and then see what happens from there. That's when we can start to push on and think ahead. But until then, I'm still looking down that bottom of the table.
00:06:44
Global Sports Podcast Network
Definitely. So we're only at 19 points after 12 games. So if we avoid a defeat, whether that be ah a draw or a win, we'll be halfway to that magic 40 number um after just 13 games. Considering we stayed up on 27 points, ah granted we earned 31, but we had four taken offers. So yeah, if we even 40 points will be the highest Premier League tally in in these few
Ipswich Players' Impact
00:07:08
Global Sports Podcast Network
years. So yeah, I think yeah maybe some but perspective is is needed that Yeah, finishing 14th even will be an improvement on on the previous two years. But like like when we spoke um to record Wild Card Wednesday, James said, don't burst my bubble just yet. It's just two two difficult games and this game is which we're hoping to to go into and pick up the three points. um So for those who haven't listened um yet, Marley, you did the
00:07:40
Global Sports Podcast Network
crossover with, was it Rob, from from Daily Ipswich?
00:07:45
Global Sports Podcast Network
And you were mainly chatted him about the Ipswich players. They've done it in a similar way to what we did with lots of new signings, but they've probably got kept slightly more of their championship core than than
Ipswich Injury Concerns and Transfers
00:08:00
Global Sports Podcast Network
we did.
00:08:00
Global Sports Podcast Network
So who did ah Rob of of the Ipswich podcast say we should be looking out for? And two of their new signings, and there's one obvious one who's getting a lot of press, has also been performing for Ipswich.
00:08:07
Marley
Yes it was, yeah. Well, he said a lot of players were injured and um a lot of players that could be important like Connor Chaplin, Luke Wolfendern, George Hurst, they're all injured.
00:08:26
Marley
Of the new signings, he said Aaron Mureich is due a clanger, he's due letting a stupid one in and obviously he's formerly a forest.
00:08:32
Global Sports Podcast Network
yeah He owes us, he owes us, yep.
00:08:34
Marley
He does i was ah he owes us an entire game after that West Bromwich Albion Home League opener. and He said, obviously, positives, Amari Hutchinson, Sammy Schmodecks, and Liam Delapp, the obvious three.
Player Comparisons and Transfers
00:08:53
Marley
Negatives, Calvin Phillips, Calvin Phillips, and Calvin Phillips, as predicted.
00:08:58
Marley
ah In the podcast, I actually did compare Calvin Phillips to Jesse Lingard, that we when we signed him as a statement signing, a big name signing, who goes completely wrong, I guess.
00:09:11
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, I mean, it's interesting when when when players are leaving the big clubs, they've got to do it for the right reasons. Hudson and Doy and Elanga, for example, they've left there. The big clubs left the comfort of the big Premier League academies they came ah through because they want to prove themselves. They want to be the first names on the team sheet and whether they're the first names on our team sheets we'll come to later. But you're right, I think Calum Phillips is in that Jesse Lingard.
00:09:38
Global Sports Podcast Network
category in that he's had his taste at the top. He's impressed for England in a major tournament, but he just hasn't been able to keep up that form since his was proving and to be a disastrous move to ah to Manchester City for him.
Technical Difficulties and Lineup Considerations
00:09:56
Global Sports Podcast Network
um So I think I was going to mention James Ward Proust there as another example of another person who's maybe a midfielder coming in with a a bad reputation.
00:10:08
Global Sports Podcast Network
And Marley was almost so disappointed. I was about to mention James Ward Prowse. He's left the call. It looks like his laptop is out of battery. Let's give him 10 seconds to see if he can rejoin us.
00:10:46
Global Sports Podcast Network
It's definitely a very, very useful tool. Zencaster, so what we want to talk about now, as I see Marley rejoining the call, ah is who we're going to pick ah to play for Forest this this weekend. So I will i will start. um Matt Sells in goal. I still don't think there's any cause yet to pick up Carlos Miguel. Miguel, yeah, he did well.
00:11:16
Global Sports Podcast Network
in that Newcastle Cup game. But yeah, he's someone who, because he didn't start the season in goal in in the league team, it means he's going to, he's came in as as the Cupkeeper, maybe he's learning the language, learning the country, or maybe he knows that's why he was he was brought in.
00:11:33
Global Sports Podcast Network
So for me, ah Matt Sales is playing 38 Premier League games this season, unless something very drastic happens. ah The back four, I'm going to stick with what's become a a usual back four. As we said, they have lost their mojo in in those past two games ah where they were previously, they had the second best off defense in the league and yeah, conceding six times in two games is going to put paid to that record. But I think you've got to let that four grow as as a unit because they have looked at impressive. Marley.
00:12:10
Marley
yeah uh i am back my camera has um just decided not to switch back on but i think the back four can stay the same all Aina is apparently i think it was him either him or Alanga were being monitored for fitness when i saw what Nunu had said in his pre-match interview if it is Aina that's been monitored for fitness then i wouldn't mind starting Nico Williams because obviously we he will need to get a bit of match fitness in him a bit of game time in him to get ready for starting him against Villa when we can't start Moreno.
00:12:45
Marley
And I would also love to see Eric just over Marrero get more minutes off the bench. Obviously I enjoyed watching him play versus West Ham when he came on. I think he's looking like a very good young prospect. So if Aina is injured or even if he's not and he starts and we look like we're going to win comfortably, I'd love to see Marrero come off a bench, get some minutes in.
00:13:03
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, I mean, I'm surprised, actually, Moreira didn't come on against Arsenal.
00:13:05
Marley
Hopefully a bit more than when he did against West Ham.
00:13:06
Global Sports Podcast Network
So for the last few minutes, when it was 3-0, we still had a sub left, Aina was on a booking. So I was surprised
Midfield Selection Debate
00:13:13
Global Sports Podcast Network
that out to Silvermoreira didn't get on for for the last five minutes.
00:13:19
Global Sports Podcast Network
um but and yeah we Nicky Williams, I think he got some game time for Wales. So he's completely out of the cold, but you're ah completely right that we need to.
00:13:32
Global Sports Podcast Network
um You use the squad, um making make sure that players know that they can um get the opportunity to to play if they haven't otherwise been playing um before. They need to know that there's a route into the squad and that's why I think the big um selection The topic is the in the attack, it's ah the almost weekly debate. Should Jotter um be joining? So according to my screen, Marley, it says you're not recording. So whilst you quickly check that on your side, we'll play play our second advert.
00:14:33
Global Sports Podcast Network
And yeah, as we've seen with the the the crossover episodes, so Molly and Mark were happily joined by Rob from Daily Ipswich earlier in the week in the episode that was published on and ah on Thursday. It's certainly a great community. ah There's a ah WhatsApp chat for for all clubs, lots of banter flying in there, especially about Manchester City in their and their woes and their worries recently. um But if you you can still hear me, Molly, we'll continue and we'll go for midfield. Any arguments against Yates and Dominguez as the two? Would you put in Ward-Prowse? Would you ah do something crazy and ah risk and Anderson or risk Gibbs-Wyatt to watch your thoughts are on that too?
00:15:17
Marley
I've got no no arguments against the two in midfield, the two central midfielders, the six in the eight, Yates in the Mingus. I don't think there's any point playing Anderson there if he might not be fit. I don't think there's any point ah playing world proud at all ever again for Nottingham Forest Football Club. I'd say we stick to that. Obviously, without Anderson, it will be difficult only having world proud on the bench, but I'm hoping Gibbs White will be able to play. He might not, if he can't,
00:15:47
Marley
than just silver at 10 definitely but if he can then we we should revert back to that 3 in midfield and I think now that alone will be enough to solidify a win against Ipswich Town.
00:15:53
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, so you would definitely play as the most attacking three would Hudson-Adoy, Alanga, or would you perhaps jump what drop one of Alanga and Hudson-Adoy in favour of Jota and Ramon Sosa?
00:16:08
Marley
I'm going to be completely honest with you. And this definitely isn't just because I absolutely love the man I'm bringing into the football team. I think Alanga, although he's been all right, and he's got a very high ceiling, could do with a rest. AKA, I think he could do with being dropped, just giving up a ah reminder is pay that he isn't guaranteed. He does still need to be put it in top performances week in, week out.
00:16:33
Marley
and I really want to see Rabon Sosa get a start. He's got he'd had less game time so far than just a silver but to me he looks just as capable and I would love to see him start a game.
00:16:39
Global Sports Podcast Network
so it's been typically being Ramon Sosa, the sub on the left and Jota the sub on the right.
00:16:44
Global Sports Podcast Network
You would play Ramon Sosa on the right and still Hudson and Doyle or you play both both the newbies?
00:16:50
Marley
I would play Hudson and Sosa. Hudson and Sosa because I think Sosa is versatile.
00:16:54
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah I mean I'm
00:16:55
Marley
I think he can play both sides.
00:16:56
Global Sports Podcast Network
would certainly not. Again, yeah I think you agree. I mean, I don't don't want to, I know there's been a lot of anti-Alanga talk and everyone saying, hey we should definitely have taken that 50 million plus Almaran deal on on deadline day. I think because of what Alanga gives to the team team spirit, I think you certainly contribute a lot. So I'm not saying, um because our PSR issues were solved, I don't think we needed to rush in for a crazy deal. And I don't think we needed Almaran.
00:17:23
Global Sports Podcast Network
um But I certainly think that Jota and Sosa, they weren't brought in to only sit on the bench.
Striker Selection: Chris Wood or Tyra Awani?
00:17:29
Global Sports Podcast Network
ah They've been patient. They've always looked happy on training, in training, on social media, celebrating goals. I don't think they're necessarily so impatient that they haven't yet made their premie league first Premier League start. But if not now, then then when? um So that's why I would certainly agree with you. ah Play them both. Or maybe maybe play one. I don't think Nuno is bold enough to play them both. I think start one of them.
00:17:54
Global Sports Podcast Network
home against Zip Switch, it's at home against a team towards towards the bottom ah of the table. So I think we really really need to get that first Premier League start and hopefully at the city ground on Saturday, that's that' the place to get it. Any thoughts on keeping Tyra Awani as the starting striker or for you as is it Chris Wood ah reinstated? Definitely, a definite for you.
00:18:20
Marley
ah Definitely Chris Wood. Chris Wood has had his break. He's had a game to Rest and recover from obviously going over to new Zealand, flying to different Pacific Islands. He's recovered from that.
00:18:31
Marley
He's ready to come back. He's ready to score goals again, because that's what Chris Wood does.
00:18:32
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, this is crazy how, yeah, that's, that's the answer.
00:18:34
Marley
Chris Wood scores goals.
00:18:36
Global Sports Podcast Network
I mean, I was just only being the devil's advocate by allowing you to defend Tyra Awany, who was ah once at one time the club record signing, captures up almost in that first season, but it's become the Chris Wood is showing his class, he's showing his experience.
00:18:51
Global Sports Podcast Network
um Yeah, I think because the 2026 World Cup is bigger so there's now a guaranteed spot for the Oceania confederation there wasn't previously they had to obviously the winners of that confederation was always New as Zealand then they had to play loads of playoffs against African or Central American teams but now
Chris Wood's International Career
00:19:09
Global Sports Podcast Network
expanded world cup there's a guaranteed spot for the Oceania and realistically that means a guaranteed spot for New Zealand so you can see the pride he gets playing for his country by going to all these random Pacific Islands and every couple of weeks at the start of the season it seems.
00:19:24
Global Sports Podcast Network
So let's hope he's rewarded with a World Cup play still as a starting February striker.
00:19:31
Global Sports Podcast Network
know they They moved to Asia um because um yeah there I don't know why New Zealand didn't also move but now Australia
00:19:32
Marley
Would Australia not get the ah guaranteed Oceania place?
00:19:40
Global Sports Podcast Network
They qualified in 2006 as Oceania, going through the very complicated playoff route. And then they moved to Asia. Of course, you can see the Asian Confederation would want Australia. They're a rich country. They can sell lots more subscriptions to whatever channel shows, the Asian Cup games. yeah no it right It would previously have been Australia or New Zealand for the playoff. Now it's just been just New Zealand as well for the playoff. With that renewed qualifications, but you can see what Chris Wood's motivation is.
00:20:11
Marley
Yeah, Chris Wood will want, will you want World Cup football? Burnley and Newcastle Chris Wood would never have imagined he'd be playing the World Cup, but not in a forest Chris Wood. He's more than good enough to play in a World Cup.
00:20:22
Marley
I've seen a Burnley fan claiming that we live in a world where Chris Wood is better than Kylian Mbappe.
00:20:23
Global Sports Podcast Network
a Burnley fan even. I thought they weren't too fond of him after their crazy swap deal where they sold Chris Wood or Newcastle triggered his release clause. They had to spend that money on Vout-Veghorst, who I think scored just two goals for them. And I think he's even still on their books. I think he's on loan back in the Dutch league when he is still technically a Burnley player about Vout-Veghorst. I believe we're talking about championship teams and and championship players.
00:20:50
Global Sports Podcast Network
um Leif Davis um so talks to me about him I think when he did your joint 11 with Ipswich you would have picked him over Moreno or you were just giving the Ipswich guy some something to work with by saying it wouldn't be a full forest 11 as the combined 11.
00:21:06
Marley
I think a bit of both.
00:21:10
Global Sports Podcast Network
shit
00:21:10
Marley
Ipswich did need a defender in there, let's face it. It was a whitewash from Forest, even he admitted that our defensive record has been so good, but i even though he's excellent, I rate Leaf Davis massively, I do think he's the next England left back.
00:21:24
Marley
He was so good at a championship, pretty sure he broke the assist record from left back, which is... It's unheard of. It is really unheard of. and Honestly, he's going to go on to big things and as long as Ipswich keep hold of him, they will be fine, completely fine from relegation, as long as the rest of the squad is even a half good enough to survive.
00:21:46
Marley
So, he's definitely a man that I'm worried about with, obviously, Alango, will he be able to get past him or will Leif Davis have him on lock? We'll see, but yeah, Davis is definitely, definitely, definitely above the level of a relegation battling side.
00:21:59
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, it'll be very interesting to see what happens happens to him. um Maybe it sounds like he's it' from your description there and what we've heard about him. He's even taken to the Premier League better than even Brennan Johnson did in his only season with us. So he was the star, your youngster who go came up with this, having had a great championship season and carried that form and inconsistly inconsistently, ah perhaps say about his Premier League year with us, Brennan Johnson.
00:22:26
Global Sports Podcast Network
If he we got 47.5 million for him, you can imagine Ipswich getting 50 plus for him, especially if he does get an England cap, which is possible in England. ah Leftback is a problem position for fra England at the moment. The only other Ipswich player likes we like to chat about, who I don't think we mentioned, is Liam Delapp.
00:22:47
Global Sports Podcast Network
How worried about you? Are you about him? he think He scored five goals, which is certainly very reasonable for a player in his first full Premier League season. I think Malenković has got the better of him, or is he is he is there some sort of concern about
Impact of Leif Davis and Ipswich Concerns
00:23:02
Global Sports Podcast Network
Liam de la?
00:23:04
Marley
Liam Delappe is a very good striker. I'll be the first to admit it. He he played for Hull. I watched quite a lot of full games last season, mainly because I was excited by their young winger, Jaden Philogene, who's now back at Villa. But I love watching them. And Liam Delappe was a very, very good player. I think he played more on the wing for them. But when he played, he looked exciting. He looked quick. He looked agile. He looked like he had a good good shot on him. And quite honestly,
00:23:33
Marley
I think he could cause problems, but in all honesty, I do think we've got him on lock. I think Murillo can cope with the pace and the agility, and I think he won't win the ball in the air because Milenkovic is just so tall, so I don't think he'll cause us too many problems.
00:23:49
Marley
I think the main problem in their attack will come from Amari Hutchinson because he's got something that Forrest seems susceptible to, and that's a good shot from outside, depending on the area.
00:23:56
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, it's certainly been an issue with a variety of goalkeepers. We've played since promotion, ah conceding goals from long range does seem to be something we've struggled, struggled with defending against the most. Let's hope that that um doesn't doesn't come come to roost on on Saturday's afternoon game. He's placed with Jamaica, Murray Hutchinson, or still being on youth teams. I think he got a
00:24:23
Marley
I believe believe he's Jamaica.
00:24:25
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, I think he's one who's a youth international.
00:24:27
Marley
I'll just double check.
00:24:28
Global Sports Podcast Network
So with England, then he switched to get some senior football where the pathway is perhaps easier to get into into that.
Game Atmosphere and Historical Matches
00:24:38
Marley
he's got two two Jamaica caps.
00:24:38
Global Sports Podcast Network
OK, so as we've got i'm just all slightly wrapping up, this is a a game that we'll both be out.
00:24:46
Global Sports Podcast Network
We'll just be my my second game of the season. So the only previous one I've been to was Fulham at home. So I was wearing I was the bad luck charm, but and now we have lost the game. So at least I can say, OK, maybe it wasn't just me being the bad luck charm that I really lost the season was the only game game I was at. and Not that I'm was otherwise happy that we've lost lost the previous two. um So what's your um thoughts about the atmosphere because I and know we we but we will do our our our bits but it's one of those games where if it's going to be half an hour in still nil nil you can see the city grounds crowd getting quite quite restless if we're not tearing apart a so-called lesser team in the league.
00:25:31
Marley
Yeah, I have been a bit concerned by the atmosphere this season them because it's felt like it's one of those which feels like it's becoming what it shouldn't be. We're quietening down a bit, we're not sounding like that hostile fortress welcome to the jungle sort of atmosphere we've had to the last two seasons. That could be a bit just of complacency of the Premier League bounce, the Premier League buzzers wearing off a bit in the third season but It also feels like if we're not completely going for it, this crowd starts to get a bit impatient.
00:26:00
Marley
Like we're not a go for it. We should win every game team yet. We've been doing well, but we've been doing better than what we are. We still need to be creating that real cauldron of noise that welcome to the jungle atmosphere, put teams off.
00:26:15
Marley
Cause it's the main selling point of our stadium.
00:26:17
Global Sports Podcast Network
I think Crystal Palace were better than most in that they kept up that atmosphere for years and years.
00:26:17
Marley
It's the main thing that makes it a difficult place to come.
00:26:23

The wholesale fanatics, as I believe they're called, so they were like us. They were really celebrating celebrating just staying up in their first one or two years back. And as Palace have now morphed into a team who seem to finish 12th or 13th each year, but the fans still get up that they're still happy to to be finishing 12th and 13th each year. And we need to just but remember that and that sometimes. We haven't even finished 12th or 13th. We've narrowly survived twice. So if this game was Saturday, I mean, it could be a nil-nil or a 1-1.

Um, yeah, we've played it switch so many times in the championship and the Google free kick and the Jordan Smith save being famous moments. But we need to remember that just because we've played it, switch loads in the championship. This is a Premier league game, a mid table Premier league game is always going to be better than even a top half championship game.
00:27:16
Marley
Yeah and what ah what I would like to see happen at the city ground is to extend the safe standing.
00:27:19
Global Sports Podcast Network
Mm hmm.
00:27:24
Marley
Maybe you know A and B block both having safe standing extend the safe standing into a bit of upper Brian Clough and maybe even a bit of lower Brian Clough to try and extend that area where the bouncing and a lot of noise is because if we can extend that area but from just upper Bridgford, lower Bridgford and A block we

can maybe bring back a bit more of the atmosphere, make it a bit more of a hostile stadium to come to surrounding the away fans completely with noise rather than just on one side and above them.
00:27:51
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, you you you're always hear that the away fans love the city ground because away fans can make a noise.
00:27:53
Marley
That would be a massive, massive, massive upgrade. And we could do that this summer easily.
00:27:58
Global Sports Podcast Network
You you hear away fans at the city ground because as you say, they are have their own own section. It's a bit covered by by the netting. So I've certainly been in in the Trent end or um the the main sound tours, ENF blocks at the other corner, where there's the away team take the lead, silence, and you can just hear the away fans.
00:28:18
Global Sports Podcast Network
So I certainly agree anything to drown out those away fans would be would be very helpful.
00:28:24
Marley
Yeah, and it's ah and another thing is that I think what for the need to do is we need to bring out a TFO, which kind of summarizes the rise we're on, because let's face it, it always felt special when for the brought out TFO.
00:28:42
Marley
And I think with how well we're doing, we could do with something of like a team photo saying that we're writing new history and making new heroes and this is only the beginning, something like that.
00:28:49

Yeah, I know they say it takes a long time for them to create one, which is why there's only one every couple of months, but certainly that that sort of message as well as looking back, but looking forward will also be a great idea. um So anyone from Forza is listening, we'd be certainly happy to give you a hat and patent and promote you on our podcast. um Before we go, Marley, time for score predictions or and anything else you want to want to raise ahead of Saturday's game?
00:29:17
Global Sports Podcast Network
yeah I'm going to say 2-0.
00:29:18
Marley
think score predictions time is ah about upon us personally like yeah um i don't know my original prediction was also going to be 2-0 but if you're going to go 2-0 i've got to go with something different
00:29:20
Global Sports Podcast Network
I know we've spoken there are threats about Ipswich and we have had these this wobble but I think we're going to get the job done professionally and get a nice 2-0 home win Chris Wood and with his first home Premier League goal Ryan Yates.
00:29:44
Marley
I think we're going to have a massive, massive, massive response from the two poor games. I think we're going to come out on goals blazing, and I think we're going to dismantle

Perfect. ah

the poor reps, which side five goals to nil at the city ground.
00:29:58
Marley
I think Wood will score a hat trick. I think Alanga will finally get a goal, and I think Ramon Sosa will score off a bench.

Let's hope that happens. Let's hope you're right. Write in the comments if you're listening or watching what what you you think the score will be and anything else we spoke about such as how good Leif Davis could be and ah any if you also have some concerns about the city ground atmosphere, we'll of course be back in your podcast feeds Monday morning with our game review. Thank you for listening.
