Introduction and Show Overview

00:00:00
Speaker
Yes, sir. Good morning, good afternoon and good evening, ladies gentlemen, boys and girls and everybody up, down, all around, inside and outside the gender binary. My name is Danny Guarantee and welcome to TOQ, where I host with my best friend, the hostess with the mostest, Atom.
00:00:19
Speaker
I'm eating a lollipop right now. That's delightful. Yeah. And thank you all so very much for tuning in with us today. We have a very special show for you in the fact that it's the exact same as every other show and every show we do is special.
00:00:37
Speaker
Do you think we can make this one a quickie? Oh, I think we can do a quickie. You want to do a quickie today? Do you think we can keep it? Excuse me, I'm still eating my popsicle. Oh, it's a popsicle now? Did say

The Popsicle Challenge and Quick Episode Attempt

00:00:49
Speaker
lollipop?
00:00:49
Speaker
You did say lollipop. I meant to say popsicle. Still delightful. Oh, it's so cold. My throat was a little sore, so I want to eat this to make it feel better. And it has worked. What was I saying? Oh, yeah. Can we keep it under 20? If we keep it under 20, that's a TO. o That's a TO quickie.
00:01:07
Speaker
Right, right. You want to do a TO quickie today? We we always try. You used to always shoot for under 20 and fail miserably. But today could be a day. We could do it. All right. Well, we'll give it shot. We'll give it the shot. All right. So should we do a TO quickie today?
00:01:19
Speaker
Should we just jump right into it then? Yeah, brother, my popsicle's almost gone. Let's go. All right. So this question is on Reddit Stupid Questions by State Farm Isn't There.
00:01:33
Speaker
Ouch. I love that. ah That's awesome. That's a great name.

Caffeine Effects and Personal Stories

00:01:44
Speaker
Damn. And this is a question that actually speaks to me in my heart and soul and energy levels. ah But they want to know, why does why do I not seem to be affected by energy drinks all that much?
00:01:59
Speaker
Occasionally, about once or twice a week, I drink a can of energy soda when I know I'll have a lot going on that day. This energy soda has 200 milligrams of caffeine, yet I barely get any of the effects from the caffeine.
00:02:12
Speaker
All that happens to me is mild jitteriness and a mild increase in body temperature for an hour or so. What is this? Is it genetics? And I... have personal stake in this game because I can drink a cup of coffee, fully caffeinated cup of coffee, and immediately go to bed.
00:02:29
Speaker
I did it the other day. I took it i had a drink at 1130. And besides some weird dreams, I went right to sleep. Hmm. Interesting.
00:02:41
Speaker
Well, I can tell you one thing that I know to be mostly true. Now, I can't fully explain it, But there is a correlation between like, for instance, it depending on how your brain is wired, whether you're neurodivergent in some way, typically if you have something like ADHD or some other hyperactive, some other like stimulating thing, like a stimulant will usually slow you down, which is why like people who have a hard time with focus will take something like
00:03:17
Speaker
Ritalin, there's another one that's more prevalent in Ritalin these days. I can't remember the name right now. But essentially, it is a stimulant that slows you down, right? Because like if your brain's already going at 100, somehow this chemical reaction, even though it's a stimulant,
00:03:33
Speaker
hits your brain and slows you down, right? In that same vein, caffeine is a stimulant. And thus, if you have some sort of neurodivergence or some sort of like hyperactivity, something that makes your brain accelerate in some way, there's a good chance that it will also, you could literally, like my former roommate could drink a full pot of coffee and then go right to bed.
00:03:56
Speaker
and be fine. So that's one thing. That's one thing I do know is that sometimes stimulants will have a different chemical reaction and brains that are already stimulated. So there's also that. guy That makes sense to me because I was i had ADHD as a kid.
00:04:12
Speaker
Which means I guess I probably still do. Well, i used to I used to take stuff for it and I don't anymore. But I used to be real bad as a kid. Maybe I should go back.
00:04:25
Speaker
yeah I mean, everybody's different, but usually those are stimulants that you take. I mean, there's other things you take, too, that are like chemical balancers and shit. But yeah, the way I had always heard it was, you know, if your brain's operating at 50, the normal brain is operating at 50 and caffeine makes your brain go to 100. You're like, whoa, you know, that's twice as much, right? You you really feel it.
00:04:50
Speaker
But if your brain is at like 80 all the time, and you're bringing it up to 100, it's only 20 more, and you're like, you barely feel it. Right. So that's how I had understood it. And yeah, I also had heard the ADHD thing, and it has made me multiple times go, hmm.
00:05:08
Speaker
Yeah. Because even right now, I'm drinking a cup of coffee as we speak, and I am very tired. Yeah, some other things ah just from yeah just from

Factors Influencing Caffeine Tolerance

00:05:25
Speaker
consuming certain kinds of media and doing quick searches and just having people in the medical field or having friends who have a similar challenge.
00:05:34
Speaker
Other things that I've noticed is that usually the people that tell me Danny, maybe you can share this. I don't know. What is your sleep like? Like, do you get to sleep pretty easily these days or like, do you stay up later than usual? Or do you, uh, I go to bed at about midnight.
00:05:51
Speaker
I'm usually, uh, dead asleep by about 1230. twelve thirty Okay. And do you sleep on a normal night? I will make it through most of the night.
00:06:04
Speaker
Sometimes I wake up to go to the bathroom or something. And i do know once I'm, awake Like if I wake up, I can go right back to sleep. But if I wake up and like have to go to the bathroom or something or move around enough, yeah my brain kind of kicks awake and then I cannot go back to sleep.
00:06:25
Speaker
So there are days where if I'm having problems with my asthma, I'll wake up at around five o'clock every time ah because I can't breathe well. I'll, you know, take some meds, take a puff of the the inhaler or whatever.
00:06:38
Speaker
But by the time I'm done doing all that, I'm like, well, now I'm awake. So I just stay awake until about nine, 10 o'clock. And then I conk back out to bed till about 1230.
00:06:50
Speaker
Gotcha. OK, yeah, I was. The reason I'm asking is because, like, I know that. Sometimes caffeine can affect your brain differently if you are not getting quality sleep or if you're not sleeping the whole way through the night, like you're still tired regardless. And it's like becomes more of like a ah mental fatigue as well as a physical fatigue. And thus, like caffeine typically won't be able to do that. But like it's kind of hard to tell, like if you don't experience that regularly, then that's probably not your challenge then. Yeah.
00:07:20
Speaker
But that is another thing that can happen is ah if you're if you're already sleep deprived in some way, you may not know that you're sleep deprived, but then drinking energy drinks doesn't do anything because your body's still just so exhausted that it doesn't process the same way. But here's a big one.
00:07:38
Speaker
I have one other one that I know for sure can affect that. And if you're not neurodivergent and if you're sleeping well, the ah the only other one I know of is if you are dehydrated, your body will not process the caffeine the same way.
00:07:52
Speaker
Um, uh, and you can also do, and, and, and in tandem with that, if you might have a higher caffeine tolerance because of the other drinks that you drink that you may not even know have caffeine in them, a lot of teas, you don't know, have caf caffeine in them. A lot of soda pops don't have, you don't, might not know they have a higher amount of caffeine them than you think. So even if you're not cranking energy drinks,
00:08:18
Speaker
uh kombucha a lot of kombucha has caffeine in it too so just kind of a lot of beverages have that in there as just part of their makeup and so i was shocked to learn very recently actually that um a drink that i love that's how i found out kombucha i was like what do you mean i'm not drinking i tried to offer hitch something recently and they're like no it's got caffeine i'm like what the talking about no it doesn't sure as heck sure it sure did um and so that could be it too so if you're drinking things regularly that are not water And you are processing caffeine differently then because sorry, my roommate's cat just kicked open my door.
00:08:57
Speaker
You little bastard. The doors don't latch yet because we had to get the door shaved down to even fit the frame for some reason. And now they just the the the latch just like sits against the the ah the other latch piece and just just slides out so the cat knows if she hits the door enough times it opens oh shit she hates locked doors she hates shut doors so every time my door shut she's as your doom doom doom until it opens Anyway, sorry about that. Got distracted. The point I'm trying to make is between how much water or how little water you drink and how much caffeine you drink regularly that you might not even know you drink or that you do know you you drink, you will develop a tolerance and you won't process the way it's supposed to. And thus it doesn't have the effects it needs.
00:09:42
Speaker
So you're just drinking it for the flavor at some point and you're not drinking it for any benefit. So all that to say, Danny, hydrate. Hydrate or diatrate. Hydrate diatrate. Yeah, I agree. I agree.
00:09:55
Speaker
I think part of it for me, because I have had energy drinks and I feel they work better. Well, I shouldn't even say energy drinks. It was Celsius, right? um But it wasn't like the super sugary crap, thank God.
00:10:11
Speaker
And I would notice those worked better. And I always wondered if part of it was coffee is like a hot, soothing, like drink in the same way tea can be for me.
00:10:26
Speaker
So while I'm like, sure, I'm getting caffeine, my body is like, ah, like nice, warm tea, nice, warm caffeine, coffee and caffeine.
00:10:37
Speaker
i don't know. hmm. I mean, it could be. um I always found hot drinks to be more relaxing. I agree. i feel like. anyway Yeah.
00:10:49
Speaker
So I always wondered if maybe that was a part of it, because I can feel my body like physically relax. Uh, even if like, I don't get the mental stimulant from the caffeine.
00:11:01
Speaker
I've had it where I've tried to stay awake on caffeine and my heart got the jitters long before i actually felt any more awake. And I was like, you know what? My heart hurts. I shouldn't do this. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
00:11:16
Speaker
I think the recommended dose of caffeine is like less than 400 milligrams a day. I don't know the exact number. All I know is I told my, bo my, my boss i told my doctor i drink on average two cups of coffee a day on a bad day three and he was like ah you're fine ah yeah i mean that doesn't sound super excessive compared to what i've seen unless we're talking like giant thermoses full not just a normal coffee mug yeah one in the morning one like late afternoon maybe one in between if it's like a real bad day yeah
00:11:51
Speaker
Um,

Daily Caffeine Intake and Alternatives

00:11:52
Speaker
that's a good point. Um, uh, yeah, I don't, I think for you, that's probably not that big of a deal, but for others, like a lot of that depends on like your size, your weight, you know, your age, your genetics, you know, caffeine affects everybody a little bit differently, but you should keep track. How many energy drinks do you have in your trash, your recycling bin cans? You know, how many,
00:12:12
Speaker
how many How much money are you spending on it? How much coffee you know do you drink? Because, yeah, you can develop a tolerance for sure, especially if you're heavier. um That's pretty common that like you don't feel those effects as much.
00:12:24
Speaker
That makes sense. Yeah. But also fatigue. Fatigue is very real. um And I did a little bit of Googling while you were talking just to confirm some things. And something that pops up quite a bit is fatigue.
00:12:37
Speaker
So they're saying you can experience fatigue through not getting enough sleep, through your body being tired, through like if you're on any sort of medications, your body can experience fatigue if you're not, if you don't have enough water, um your body just like runs on high. And so you'll just be constantly more tired because you don't have enough of the stuff you actually need to process everything else in your body.
00:12:58
Speaker
So they bring up fatigue a lot of like, as a big reason why a lot of people don't experience what they want after they get on top of, or in addition to, ah caffeine, uh, uh, tolerance, which you can reset by just drinking less and less until you go back to like a lower floor and then restart.
00:13:18
Speaker
But, They also recommend, funny enough, I found myself clicking around and I landed on WikiHow. Oh, the best place. I found some interesting supplement recommendations. Now, we are not doctors, dieticians, or nutritionists, but I do know ashwagandha is one that they recommend, which is ash actually very good for you.
00:13:38
Speaker
Um, it's just an overall general good supplement that helps energize your body. It helps your metabolism. Um, they do recommend that. I don't know these other two. They talk about Panax ginseng. I don't know enough about that. Or Redolia rosea. I don't know what that is, but ashwagandha is the other one that they recommend.
00:13:54
Speaker
Um, so if you're like, oh man, this caffeine isn't working for me or I want to cut back cause I'm worried my heart's going to explode. There's other things you can do. Well, that's good. Or just a ray of sunshine on your face, man. I tell you, nothing that makes nothing wakes me up better than if I can get out on ah on a nice morning, which is hard in the morning, especially in the you know if you're experiencing you know daylight savings or the the clock going back and everything's darker during this the winter and shit, but A good sunbeam will do it. What do you think? Cats are always laying in them.
00:14:25
Speaker
They're falling asleep in it, though, because it makes them feel good. It makes them feel safe. Well, they're they're falling asleep in it because it makes them feel cozy. But like but, you know, cats aren't wired the same way humans are. Cats are wired to sleep 18 hours a day. Well, maybe I'm part cat because I always found it easier to nap than I did to sleep at night.
00:14:44
Speaker
Oh, here's another suggestion, Danny. If you go and scrounge up some old used EpiPens and you refill them up with your energizing drink of choice, coffee, ah you know, your your energy drinks, your teas, and you just inject it straight into your leg as if you're having like a anaphylactic shock and you stab yourself in the leg and you push that blue button down a big needle will jump into your leg and just fire all that energy drink in there all at once that'll wake up i think that's a great idea and if you're and if you're thinking danny adam that sounds dangerous okay fine don't put the caffeine in there and and just stab yourself in the leg with an epiphan
00:15:32
Speaker
Oh, I wasn't thinking that at all. Actually, what I was thinking is I don't have any EpiPens, but I do have my pens from like Ozempic and stuff. Perfect. yeah Just rinse those out. Put them in the washer. Get them nice and clean. not even going to. Why do I have to rinse it? It's dirty with me. It's fine.
00:15:48
Speaker
Yeah, but there's other medications in there that. like my Oh, it's fine. No, it's all right. Yeah. Or crush. fact You know what? Maybe just to dilute it, make it a little bit nicer. I'll keep the medicine in there and just add some of the the caffeine into it.
00:16:03
Speaker
Yeah. You know, I don't want to have to stab myself twice. That's true. Yeah. This way I can just do it all at once. Just keep the needle stabbed into your leg at all times, like tape it in there. And then you just can just pour it like a funnel. Yeah. Just an IV.
00:16:17
Speaker
Yeah. You could just, just mainline whatever your caffeinated. because your choice I think that's such a, Good idea. Wink, wink. Don't do that. Wink, wink. Yeah. Listen, dieticians agree that that's how you should do it. du I remember I had to talk to my doctor. a Quick side tangent.
00:16:39
Speaker
I had to talk to my doctor because i i have diabetes. or I'm a little overweight. And um although it's well under control, if I could drop the weight, it would be really healthy for me. Right. and Just like anybody else.
00:16:52
Speaker
ah So. my doctor had put me on Ozempic and on, uh, uh, Manjaro. And I remember when I used the Ozempic, it was a manual needle.
00:17:08
Speaker
So you had to, you know, literally push the plunger down yourself.

Personal Story and Unexpected Interruptions

00:17:13
Speaker
And, uh, it said in the instructions, you know, like hold the needle up. So the air bubbles go up to the top, kind of tap it a bit, to break off any air bubbles.
00:17:23
Speaker
And then push it until the medicine starts to come out a little bit. Then do it. Well, the other one, the Manjaro, came in automatic pens. And I noticed all these air bubbles in it. And I couldn't do anything about it.
00:17:37
Speaker
And I went to my doctor. and I'm like, this is fine, right? Because I know injecting air into you is not good. And he's like, oh, yeah, you know, the size of the bubbles in there is not going to be a problem. And if you're really worried, shake it real good first to break it all up and make it into a bunch of smaller bubbles.
00:17:55
Speaker
But I always still felt very weird. i was like, I know injecting air is not good. There's a reason why they always squirt out all the air in needles. ah Yeah. love it Yeah, I could see how that would be.
00:18:11
Speaker
not not comfortable, i have kind of. Alarming at least. Yeah. And I think one time I did actually hit a vein. Oh, I did it. Oh, dude. So normally it hurts a little bit. Right. You get like a little pressure staying.
00:18:27
Speaker
Whatever. ah But one time I did it.
00:18:32
Speaker
It hurt. It was killer. And I felt it all down my leg. and no kidding. And I got dizzy afterwards. So either I hit a vein and pumped it directly into my bloodstream yeah or I hit a nerve.
00:18:48
Speaker
It was so, so painful. It's like when you Charlie horse your whole leg. oh my God. I was in the bathroom ah doing doing it and i I, It was the automatic pen.
00:19:01
Speaker
So I pressed the button. shot soon as that shit was done, I like threw it across the room and out of my leg and just sat on the side of the tub. it was just like, oh, my God.
00:19:14
Speaker
ah yeah it was was like family guys. Just like. Yeah. Yeah. yeah Yeah, I can imagine. that's ah Oh, it did think not feel good.
00:19:26
Speaker
oh it did not feel good at all. Well, I think what what we're learning here is mainline your medications, mainline your caffeine.
00:19:38
Speaker
Well, if you really want caffeine to work, there's another one I heard um coffee enema. Oh, yeah. Yeah. That's how you get the caffeine. You just get a funnel.
00:19:52
Speaker
Stick it right up where the sun don't shine and just. Have have somebody who loves you very much and nobody else will do it. Just pour. You say to that person with friends like you who needs enemas.
00:20:06
Speaker
But I'm. Yeah, well, we missed our 20 minute mark, Danny, but we can still try to round it up. No, that's you know what? I'm actually glad because at like 15 minutes I was like.
00:20:18
Speaker
ah You know, we're moving on from the question a little bit. I do have a backup question that I just found. Oh, no. And I was like, there is no way this second question is going to do 20 minutes because this is a big one.
00:20:30
Speaker
ah So you want to save that? Are you saying you want to do it instead of Beluga just came in with breaking news? She does not love me enough to give me a coffee enema. Oh, man. After everything I've done for you.
00:20:45
Speaker
yes Yeah, even after all of that? Yes? Okay. Didn't even hesitate. I'll do it for you, Danny. It's fine. Thank you, Adam. This is why we're the the true couple.
00:20:57
Speaker
That's true. Adam's going to give it to me. That's a sentence I never thought I would say. Adam's going to give it to you. ah Well, I guess for the title of this episode is Adam's going to give it to Dan. Hey, everybody's a little guy. It's fine. Everybody's a little... No, that's not what I'm going to call the episode. That fucking cat just opened up my door again just to be a... That's what the episode's going to be called.
00:21:28
Speaker
What? That fucking cat. That fucking cat. That fucking cat. You know what? I'm going to put it. That fucking cat. Let's say, you son of a bitch. You just open up the door and I just stared at me.
00:21:45
Speaker
What do you want? Just come in then. What do you want? You at least got to come talk to the listener. You're just doing it to be an asshole. She's opening my door just to look at me and be like, how dare you close it? Close it again. Excuse me. You are the pet. You don't close the door. i love you yell me That little shit.
00:22:10
Speaker
Oh, my God. What a turd. um was you Good boy. So did you want to do? she It's a girl. Her name is Dionysus and she's a butthole. All cats are.
00:22:21
Speaker
yep ah So are you saying you don't want to answer that question? We should save it or you want to try to answer it? or it um No, I think we should save it. This is this is a good half hour at least question. OK, I see.
00:22:33
Speaker
Yeah.
00:22:36
Speaker
Well, in that case, then. Yeah. Maybe we should round out the episode. We didn't meet the 20 minute mark, but hey, we might be under 30 if we get our shit together. Yeah, I mean, I think we can do it.
00:22:47
Speaker
I feel good about this one. Me too. um I do want to say ah i did.

Exploring Slang and Vocabulary

00:22:56
Speaker
i made a video recently on Instagram.
00:23:00
Speaker
And I have done no research, but I just want to bring it up on the show in case anybody knows a good resource to direct me to. So I just before we round off, there's something i am a little embarrassed to ask about.
00:23:13
Speaker
um Danny, I don't know if you know the answer to it. And if you don't, that's OK. okay I don't want to Google it. I feel like I need to hear it from a reliable source because the Internet's not always trustworthy. but somebody used the term Unc the other day.
00:23:28
Speaker
Like UNC? Like UNC. And I've been seeing it all over the internet recently. And maybe it's been around a lot longer. I've only just... i don't know what that German person's name is where you just start to notice shit that, like, once you once you recognize it, you see it everywhere.
00:23:43
Speaker
Right. But I've been seeing Unc used lot. And one... I was out and about and I held the door for somebody at a gas station. Like some young kid goes, thanks, Unc. And he leaves. And I was like, huh, no one's ever called me Unc before. And i was like, is that a good thing? Or is it just like a thing you call like an elder millennial person? Like, I don't know. Or I, I've assumed it's short for uncle, but like.
00:24:05
Speaker
That's what I thought. I've seen people say it's short for uncool. And I was like, it doesn't mean uncool uncle. Cause I'd be okay with that too. Like if he called me Unc Unc. So like, yeah,
00:24:16
Speaker
So, but i was like, I don't know what the context we're using it is for because I've seen it in other instances too. And I, I, not that I want to use it to call other people it, but I want to know what I have to do to earn it because I don't know if it's good, but it feels like it's a good thing or at least like I don't know.
00:24:34
Speaker
I don't know what it is, but if it is, I don't want to spoil it for you, but I will say can be an okay thing.
00:24:45
Speaker
And you don't have to do anything to earn it. It can be, meaning it can also be a bad thing because I've seen mixed reviews on how people use it. on like It could be a bad thing. It all depends on the inflection given.
00:24:58
Speaker
in ah In your case, it was a good one. Okay. Oh, interesting. Okay. Yeah. I just assumed it was just like, like bro. It was just like the bro version of like an, a person who might be a little bit older that you might not call a bro. So i was just like, Oh, they call it like, okay. I'm like, Hey bro.
00:25:16
Speaker
You know, but, but I've also heard like, Oh, uncle is like, Oh, uncle usually just means like, Oh, uncle or like, uncle, what are you doing? Like, it's like, ah, like how broke can be good or bad depending on the context or like, yeah, it it would be like that.
00:25:29
Speaker
um Yeah, but I haven't read into it. i just I'm taking context clues just from social media posts I've seen. and just ity said you don't You're good. You don't need to do anything to earn this one.
00:25:40
Speaker
I just didn't know if it was like a and this is showing my ignorance, I don't know if it's like a um a Gen Z thing or Gen Alpha thing or if it's like a black culture thing because my inference is that it's a black culture thing, but I don't know if it is.
00:25:55
Speaker
it's Gen Z, Gen Alpha. But I wasn't exactly sure, but like I don't want to appropriate it. like I don't want to use it to call other people Unc. I just like i want people to call me Unc in the same way people call me Datum.
00:26:07
Speaker
I really want people to call me Datum.
00:26:12
Speaker
That's my real dream. I'm not going to lie. Good news is calling you Unc is actually, it's pretty close to datum. Is it really? Kind of, yeah. Do you want to know what it means?
00:26:23
Speaker
Yes. I mean, yes, please. it's It's slang for ah somebody who is old. That's it? That's what what I assumed. It's just like an older dude.
00:26:34
Speaker
Somebody who is perceived as old-fashioned or older, Older in this case being 30, by the way, which thanks, guys.

Which is fine. I don't care. Someone ah out of someone who is out of touch with modern trends behaves like an old head or tries too hard to fit in with youth culture. However, it can also be a sign of respect used playfully or teasingly to highlight uncle vibes.
00:27:03
Speaker
That's what I want. That's what I'm shooting for. it's It's kind of like Boomer, but could be good too. Right. That's what I want. I want to earn like I've always been the cool uncle, the fun uncle, the funcle.
00:27:15
Speaker
You know, I want to like that was my inference was I think that that's like you call that to somebody who you perceive as like older, but like you still think is cool or might be all right. say, hey, thanks. on They recognize, you know, that's why I thought it might be a kid thing.
00:27:30
Speaker
Um, but I wasn't sure if it was an African American thing. Cause it just sounds like a cool term that like someone in that community would use, but like maybe it's a blend of both. But all I know is that when I see it written, I'm like, man, it'd be kind of cool if someone called me on, but like, i don't want to ask people to to, well, I'm, I'm technically an uncle now. I'm going to be the cool uncle.
00:27:50
Speaker
Yeah, that's true. You are. And I'm going to be the favorite uncle. Cause it's a one man race. i win.
00:27:59
Speaker
You would what? I win. It's a one man race. It's just me. Oh, yeah, that's true. ah You don't have a bunch of ants, but I'm the only uncle. If you have a bunch of ants, you better call the exterminator. Mm hmm.
00:28:12
Speaker
Yeah. OK, well, that helps me elucidate that a little. Yeah, it's they're just calling you an old man, but kind of affectionately if they're not being a jerk. Gotcha. Sounds to me like you were just being, you know, they were like, thanks, pops.
00:28:25
Speaker
Yeah, which also is fine. Like, that was kind of how I took it was like what you would call like, you know, thanks, pops. Thanks, old timer. Thanks, whatever. Like, it's like it was that they have two ants and I'm the clear favorite. Two ants and Mbeluga is the clear favorite.
00:28:39
Speaker
Then again, i won't say it's on. This is on a show that other people could listen to. You can't talk shit. I'm not going to talk shit.
00:28:50
Speaker
You can't be talking. I agree that you are probably the the favorite. The other ones are cousins, though. Oh, the other ones are cousins. Are you the only actual aunt? No, because he has a sister.
00:29:01
Speaker
Okay, so there is another aunt. The sister is the one that never shows up. Oh, okay. Just get on the show already. Goodness gracious. Adam is saying you should just get on the show already.
00:29:12
Speaker
They might treat the cousins like God. Right. i don't know it's up to but it But in terms of actual ants, it's just the one other one. You're going to make us go over our 30-minute mark, Beluga. It's all your fault. Oh, yeah. was hoping I'm the clear favorite, though.
00:29:27
Speaker
Also, I'm too sick, to be honest. Oh, yeah. too sad. Not today. Just it soon. Beluga, pick an episode. God, just get on here already. all She's just spreading it out, being a little bit in each episode. It's true. It's true. She's, like, easing people into it. Yeah. It's so true.
00:29:45
Speaker
But, yeah, thanks. Thanks for putting us over a half hour, babe. Yeah, babe. Babe. Campaign for Beluga episode 100. Alright, we're starting a campaign for Mbaluga episode 100. Alright, we're on episode 76 now? 76. We have a while. like not on the sha under the ear Not that long.
00:30:09
Speaker
Better get your singing voice ready. That's quite a few weeks, man. That's like 24 weeks we still to go. Oh, didn't I tell you that yours is going to be a Truth or Dare segment? who So get your singing voice ready.
00:30:22
Speaker
I do not play Truth or Dare. You do now. i dare i dare you to take your socks off. Nobody in this house is wearing socks right now. Nice. first so Socks are gross. Let those puppies breathe.
00:30:39
Speaker
Well, since we're over 30 minute mark, I want to teach you all a new word that I learned today. Teach me. I was watching. um I know this won't be popular for everybody, but I was watching the MSN News, um MSNBC, and I guess they're called MS Now or something.
00:30:58
Speaker
um I like that MS Now or something. That's like like it's like m Snow. I can't remember. It's like I can't remember. um But the guy in there was talking about k Christy Noem losing her job, which I heard about this, which clap, clap, clap, clap. clap um But he used a word I'd never heard before. And he said it was she was leaving in ignominious fashion.
00:31:25
Speaker
And I was like, what the fuck is this word? How do I not? Ignoramus? Ignominious. But is it the base word like? Is ignoramus like the base of that? That's a good question. Like what? No, it's just Igno would be the I'm not being political here. That is just based on how it sounds. Yeah, I mean i know. it It has similar. The first four letters are very similar, ah but i or are the same. But I don't I don't know what the root word Igno is. Usually I think it was like ignominious. Igno, M-I-N-I-O-U-S, ignominious.
00:32:00
Speaker
It's very fun to say. And I had to look up i the word again because I was like, immediately I was like, well, that's a word I don't know. And it means deserving or causing public disgrace or shame.
00:32:14
Speaker
Some synonyms include humiliating, undignified or embarrassing, which I was like, wow, what a word. What a fucking word. No, I don't think you could pop that out in like the middle of a brunch and have people go like, what the fuck are you talking about? But but like no one mentioned I scrolled through all the comments. Not a single person picked up on that word. It's like there's no way everyone in this comment section knows what this fucking word is. ignominious. You didn't know what ignominious meant?
00:32:45
Speaker
No, I didn't know what ignominious meant. Oh, dude, really? <unk> Yep. Oh my God. I didn't either. I was so happy to learn a new word. Now I'm probably going to forget it.
00:32:56
Speaker
Um, cause I'm not writing it down to using it frequently, but I wanted to pass it on to you, the listener. And so I challenge you listener to reach out to us at fun and sellers network. Dot biz and send us a sentence that a funny sentence or maybe a funny short story, maybe four or five paragraphs long using the word ignominious.
00:33:17
Speaker
Again, that's I-G-N-O-M-I-N-I-O-U-S. Ignominious. Deserving or causing public disgrace or shame, such as she left her job in ignominious fashion.
00:33:30
Speaker
So, yeah, send us that and let us know. But also send us questions. We haven't gotten any from our listeners in a while, so it'd be nice to hear you. The last time I did a karaoke, I sang ignominiously.
00:33:44
Speaker
It was an ignominious affair. It was an ignominious song.
00:33:57
Speaker
Wait, what'd you say? I said it was an ignominious song, which is not true. It was an ignominious performance. Yes, that would be right. There you go. Like a shameful ah or an embarrassing for performance.
00:34:12
Speaker
Essentially, if you can replace the word shameful or or ah embarrassing or and undignified with the word ignominious, you can do it. So like, yeah, you suffered an ignominious defeat or something. What was it? I think I sing Barbara Ann.
00:34:31
Speaker
Barbara Ann. Yeah. But I think it appears. Love that. The whole thing. ah Speaking of the whole thing, why don't we wrap up this whole thing, Danny?
00:34:43
Speaker
Yeah, sounds good to me, Adam. All right, go for it, man. As the one who did the intro today, this is my episode. And because of that, i will take the opportunity to tell you to head on over to FunInstallersNetwork.biz to leave us a

question. Check out some merch, maybe. yeah We got shirts and stuff now. Yeah. We got our days of the week shirts. See? It's got every day. We got a shirt for you for every day of the week. Literally.

00:35:33
Speaker
um And proceeds go to support the network so we can grow it. And, um you know, it'd be nice to get some feedback on the merchandise. If you like it, if you don't like it, if you want to see something else, eventually the store might take a mutation or we might try to implement it or integrate it into our website eventually working on that. But in the meantime, any little bit counts. So thanks for your So here's the thing I think we we always forget to tell people, and this is kind of important. When we ask you to support the show, we actually do not mean just like the two goofballs you hear right now talking to each other, as great as that would be.
00:36:07
Speaker
We actually have a network called Fundsars Network, shockingly enough. But we use this platform or we want to use this platform in order to help other creatives who are just breaking into the space, just figuring out the ah what they're doing in life and how the system works. We want to give them a place where they can network, meet other creative people that do other things so that, you know, hey, here's the Fun Installers Network. We have a bunch of writers. We have a bunch of animators, voice actors. You come in and you're like, hey, I want to make a cartoon. We got all the bits and bobs. You could talk to people, make friends, network. We want to be that open space that really helps people who are new in the industry.
00:36:50
Speaker
get together, make something special, and hopefully kick their foot in the door. So that is actually what you would be supporting if you do decide to support the show. And again, that doesn't necessarily mean monetarily, although that would be the most helpful. We absolutely are fine with you just listening. That is perfectly fine with us. It is very much appreciated.
00:37:13
Speaker
But if you could at least show the show to somebody else you think you would like it, Probably not your parents or just leave us a review. Give us some stars. Give us some some comments, some feedback.
00:37:26
Speaker
Is there something you liked in the show? Something you didn't like? Do you miss when we had more guests? Do you want more guests? Do you not like guests? Do you like it when we used to do word of the day or when we always had a cue to your A analogy? Let us know because we want to make the show as good as we can for you.
00:37:44
Speaker
True story. ah And I honestly, I'm sorry I went on this huge rant. I just felt it needed to be said. But long story short, we appreciate you. We love you. This is still a dream come true for me. And for the love of God, maybe just just maybe don't be a piece of shit this year.
00:38:10
Speaker
I'm so proud of you ranting all that into that fucking ending. You should feel really proud of yourself right now. Thank you. I do, man. Thank you. That was really, really good. That's why I started laughing. The moment you're like, just the second I said, maybe I heard you die. Yeah.
00:38:28
Speaker
That was good. And hey, you know what? I agree. Don't. just Just don't. Just don't. When in doubt, don't. Don't be a piece of shit this year. Don't be a piece of shit this year.
00:38:38
Speaker
just Just don't. let's just let's let's Let's do it like this, Danny. We have a minute. Let's take turns alternating words until we till we finish the sentence.
00:38:49
Speaker
Okay. Sounds good. All Ready? You start. yeah Just don't. be a piece of big fat smelly disgusting runny putrid ignanimous fuck yeah fuck I was gonna do that shit shit
