And and I was just up for a couple minutes to whine and complain and make sure everybody knew I was sick.

So he was in Milpitas and then, uh, so that So then he lee he does his final swear-in at MAPS, ah which was um Thursday morning.

So I dropped him off Wednesday, and then I went back. but he was They just had him at a hotel. So we went out for dinner Wednesday night, and then Thursday morning showed up, watched him do his swear-in, which is in, like, this nice room, and they do the the oath.

Yeah. And he did a bunch of forging on his knife and basically forged its shape. So that was cool. But, um, yeah, we did end up grinding most of the, the spike off of the sides just because there was, um, uh, Rick's TIG wasn't working.

So we couldn't, I wanted to TIG the seam all the way around the spike, like where we inserted the Damascus, but we just kind of winged it. We just tacked it. And, uh, that gave us some problems.

it actually was the weld wasn't taking right at the for front quarter inch of the spike. And, um, actually, uh, you, you can't see it really well, but, um, Rick's and, uh, Parker's knife has a little D lamb at the front, just where the, it's purely cosmetic, just where the side of the spike didn't weld, but I caught it early and I grounded out of mine. So mine doesn't have that, but, uh,

um they kept forging theirs and they kept pushing it in. So that was unfortunate, but it still looks good. And actually once it was at, you don't really see it anyway.

So Google decided to send me up this one lane road like a like a horse trail, basically, um and I I used to take this road when I lived in Concord all the time, from Livermore to Concord.

And I was I was putting like sandpaper and I was using the blue sandpaper, right which is really sticky. And it takes even longer because you got to cut it and then you got put it on. Anyway, that's a pain in the ass. I'm like, fuck, if only there if only I could do this without... I literally said this to myself. If I could do this without changing the sandpaper, this would be so much faster. And then, like, the light bulb went on. Like, why don't I just use the sanding stick?

And I would always use it to, yeah, and get in on the plunge line. But it would always at that point, it would always leave these, you know, weird marks. But I never actually like used it to to finish anything because I actually have some ones that are about a quarter of the height.
