Introduction and Banter

00:00:16
Speaker
Welcome to another Triple T for Knife Makers podcast. I'm your host, Dennis Trell, Trell Knife Works, and I have Jared Sandoval of Echo Blades. I can't wait to hear all his excuses of why he didn't catch fish on his ah on his fish weekend and how he got so cold.
00:00:34
Speaker
Wow. I think everybody wants to know why the hell we didn't release an episode today, Mr. Turrell. We're just, we we needed a little nap.
00:00:47
Speaker
Well, I feel like I had a legitimate reason. but Better late than never. I knew you were going to be tired, so that's why I delayed it. That's my excuse. that's one okay That's my story. I'm sticking to it.
00:00:59
Speaker
All Well, I showed a picture. i did her a story of me driving in the snow. Oh. And that was the reason for the delay.

Pride in Son's Golf Achievement

00:01:12
Speaker
ah So tell me about the weekend. Oh, man. want to get right into that. First off, i did not golf. Oh, are you depressed?
00:01:24
Speaker
Yeah, it's been like nine days. So I don't know how I'm even walking around right now. um But my son just went out today. And that little shit just broke 80. shot a 79. And that is not well. That is fucking out of this world.
00:01:45
Speaker
I probably will not ever do that. So anyways, shout out to you, my dude. Congrats. He also hit a Canadian goose right in the beak. Yeah. And he calls and tells me, hey, to give a goose egg yeah he says I think i I don't know if it's dead, but it's knocked out. And I'm like, oh, God.
00:02:14
Speaker
And then he goes, well, it's a good thing I'm not in Hoth because I think that's a crime there. Tell Dennis, is that a crime? So no I need to know it's not a crime to to to harm Canadian goose in Canada. No, it's not our national animal. Don't worry. All right.
00:02:33
Speaker
Okay. I'll let know. He was, he was worried.
00:02:38
Speaker
He hit a goose. That's hilarious. Yeah. He said he topped the, he topped the, I don't know if it was a driver. i know. He topped the ball though. And it just like, shot out super low and hit the goose in the beak and he was like I couldn't do that if I ever tried again that's for sure but yeah I don't i didn't know why that's so funny to me but oh it's great and then he goes and he still shoots 79 so I don't know man hats off man I'm super proud of that kid and he's a single digit handicap now with that round making me feel all kinds of lame wow he's definitely going to be kicking his father's ass now
00:03:17
Speaker
Yeah. And we've been like neck neck to neck in these mid-80s lately. But, yeah, that's a great round. So, hey anyways.

Peculiar Vacation Routine

00:03:25
Speaker
Yeah, so i had some time off, Dennis, and it was fantastic.
00:03:34
Speaker
Good. Overall refreshed? No, i think I'm more tired from from it, but you know good times are always that way anyways. I don't know. i was just i was talking to to the guys i was with this weekend, and the story came up.
00:03:53
Speaker
And when I was young, like 18, 19, just started working my first like real job. It was like 19. And one of the guys that I worked with used to go for this like week long trip to Tahoe with a bunch of dudes and they would do whatever, gamble, do all their crap. Right. He said and there was this one guy, I think he was a doctor.
00:04:15
Speaker
And this dude would show up the first night, get shit-faced, party with everybody, and then no one would ever see him again because the dude would go in the room and he would sleep for like three or four days straight.
00:04:29
Speaker
That's all he did. That was his his getaway. The guy's weekend retreat, three, four, five days, whatever the fuck it was. But like he'd show up the first night, get super shit-faced, party with everybody, and then that's what he wanted to do at that time was just literally sleep.
00:04:44
Speaker
And I'm like, that sounds pretty lame. But I'll tell you what, this Jared coming back from this trip was starting to second guess. and And that didn't, it still doesn't sound appealing to me, but you know, when you're, when you're running too much, fun I think so.
00:05:04
Speaker
I think so. But sometimes like there's only so much sleeping. i mean, I barely sleep anyways, but, you know in the middle of the in the In the morning and when you're starting to get grinding and stuff, it always sounds good to go back to sleep. But that's a that's dedication to to catching up on some rest.
00:05:22
Speaker
Yeah, no. I couldn't do it. I didn't think so. That's like like sleeping through Blade Show or something. Blade Show, i probably get about eight hours sleep the entire weekend. ah Yeah, exactly.
00:05:34
Speaker
So it's very similar to this. but

Fishing Weekend Stories

00:05:38
Speaker
Yeah, man. So I drove up to Reno on Thursday night. um And then, so that was about, you know, what is that? Like four hours?
00:05:49
Speaker
um Easy drive. That was cool. Nice weather. And then we took our time going another three hours back down to where we were camping the next day. Of course, I had to stop at Shields, though. and Best place ever.
00:06:02
Speaker
Contemplate spending every dollar I have. i ended up coming away with a another golf thing. uh, Yeti ish fucking thing.
00:06:16
Speaker
Um, that is not the place though to go. Cause I needed some things clothes wise, um, that were like on the discount racks and good deals when I was in Idaho. Um,
00:06:28
Speaker
I should have bought everything there because that that is not the place to go to catch a deal. That's for sure. They know it's six big yeah they what they have and they charge appropriate. Like the discount racks were like still 80, a hundred bucks a piece. And I was just like, yeah, no. All right. i remember buying a bathing suit there, like board shorts.
00:06:46
Speaker
And they were like 60 bucks. i I was really upset paying $60 for board shorts, but. Did you really just call it a bathing suit?
00:06:59
Speaker
Bathing suit. Really? well Sorry. what do you What do you call it? I have just never referred to swim drunk shorts as a bathing suit. Maybe that's a Canadian thing.
00:07:11
Speaker
Call them bathing suits. All right. Because I have nothing masculine to say to you right now like Everything is like all of those inner ah less than masculine jokes. or The only reason I said board shorts because that's actually what they were it was board shorts. Yeah.
00:07:28
Speaker
I can honestly tell you I've never referred to anything as a bathing suit. What in the hell just happened? ah Okay. All right, Canadian.
00:07:41
Speaker
Wow, you just threw me off. Holy shit. um But yeah, needless to say, i can relate to the... to the uh that sucks to buying lingerie at the fucking i can't believe you said raings but the that's what they're called jesus christ oh man all right yeah anyways that place is fucking great um and if i had a lot more money um i would have less of it because i would spend it all yeah fantastic but uh anyways did that then we drove down um
00:08:20
Speaker
And yeah, the the fishing was shit. The weather was shit. That's what happened. Oh, we're blaming it on the weather. No, and literally the weather was shit. it it And I will say this right now. The cold...
00:08:35
Speaker
cover your kids ears, earmuffs can fuck right the fuck off. And I'm talking for me, for boy and um don't give a shit. You can miss me with all that crap or see me, whatever you need to do. Cause I don't want to hear about how tough you are living in the cold. Cause I don't give a shit. I think it's, it's dumb.
00:08:52
Speaker
Like Dennis thinks, you know, uh, all those little funky creative things knife makers do on knives are dumb. That's what I think. Absolutely stupid. Absolutely stupid.
00:09:02
Speaker
ah It was like... So that's your hot take. Winter stupid. Yeah, winter horrible. I mean, beep. No, I'm kidding. No, the... Seriously, i am... It was low 30s in the 20s most of the time. I think couple days... I mean, the high was like a 40.
00:09:21
Speaker
um But I didn't really notice it there. so where Where were you? Like, I'm near Truckee? Further? A little south of Mono Lake in between Mono and Mavis. Oh, okay. So you're, you're way to hell. We're in high Sierra, 8,000 plus feet, um, in the high desert, high desert.
00:09:41
Speaker
Um, and yeah, for whatever reason, it, it, we got some weather cold front came in. And, so we went out on, uh, Friday morning is, uh, or Saturday morning is, is the opener for trout.
00:09:54
Speaker
And, um, Was there lots of people there? like Is this where you always go? Same place? hu Same place. There's four lakes within like three miles. And if you don't have a boat.
00:10:07
Speaker
So normally we we've we've done the boat thing, launched and trolled in the morning. That's been cold too. But we normally go to this lake that for the past like five or six years, their the levels have been low. So we're able to drive out onto what you know, is normally water, but there's like a beachfront and you, they let's, because you could do that.
00:10:31
Speaker
So many people can get out there and spread around this year. The water was all the way. It was

Cold Weather Camping Frustrations

00:10:37
Speaker
full as full as I've ever seen it. And they, what used to like probably could fit maybe, I don't know, 40 cars, trucks.
00:10:44
Speaker
Now they had like, I don't know, 10. Um, and they put like big ass boulders up for the front. So you couldn't drive down. And it really kind of screwed up our our plan. So um we don't get up early. We're not, you know, especially when it's cold. But yeah, we got out there and there was barely any spots to park. So we and know was we figured that out. We went out for a couple hours in the morning and then I alone caught the only fish of the trip in the first couple hours that we were there.
00:11:15
Speaker
And yeah. It was I don't know. rain ball What was it? Yeah, it was a rainbow. um Nothing, nothing crazy. Just an average, you know, fish.
00:11:25
Speaker
I think it was probably on a minute. like longer than, uh, I didn't notice it cause it's probably bullshit and talking and shivering and doing jumping jacks or something. Cause when I noticed the, uh, that I had a bite, I pulled in. It didn't even fight that much. It probably been out there tired out for a minute. Cause I wasn't paying attention. but It was just cold.
00:11:47
Speaker
Yeah, it was, yeah, it was crazy. But, um, it was cool because the dude, the, the people that were there before us on the left and the right, they were like, um, they hadn't caught anything. And then we pulled up there and about an hour later, I pull one in and then I'm like, I ended up giving it to, to one of them and walk it away. And it was like, fuck this.
00:12:05
Speaker
So then we went back to the, to the, um, to the cabin and, uh, yeah. and then it, the storm came in and started snowing and we hunkered in the next day. Same thing. It was just, it was fucking cold, dude.
00:12:19
Speaker
So you didn't fish the second day? I fished in the evening. Oh, it must've been colder. Yeah. Well, it was only time the sun was out. Like, it was snowing and raining and shit. So I wasn't going go out and stand in all that crap. so But it was still freezing. I got my hands, you know, just from being out there for an hour and a half maybe. Hands were, like, so cold they burned. Like, they hurt, which is new. It's a thing for me that I just don't enjoy. So it was still like we got back in the truck. childhood. Yeah, like you go back in the in the in the truck and, like, you don't even want to put them next to the heater because it hurts to, like, thaw out so quick or something or whatever. But yeah, I'm a bitch. Whatever you guys need to say, the cold can fuck the ride the fuck off. did not Did not enjoy that. But I will say,

Brewery Visit Experience

00:13:04
Speaker
hanging out with good people, um not trying to decompress from work. I did a i did a great job of of of unplugging, um which was important for me.
00:13:16
Speaker
um I feel guilty about it all the time. because I got a pretty big team and I know there were some things going on, but I but felt like i handled everything the best that I could.
00:13:27
Speaker
But um it was important for me to just let all that go and try to prioritize and balance that you know work is super important right i'm not trying to say that it's not it's not it has a very important place in my life but it's not everything um and so i'm really focusing on that right now was trying to balance that that shit out and i and i did and i got to spend some time with some really good friends that i don't get to see very often um and uh it was cool um i i did bring um
00:14:02
Speaker
The knife that I just didn't get a handle on it. And we used that all weekend. i sharpened it up there about the wicked edge. So I just put an edge on it and they loved it. So I just got to wrap a the other two up and those will go to those guys.
00:14:22
Speaker
But it performed good. Cut all kinds of potato, everything, all kinds of tri tips. And we ate like fucking. Fat bastards for sure. i wish i had that sound sound bite. Yeah, I eat because I'm unhappy. I'm unhappy because I eat.
00:14:40
Speaker
haven't seen my welly in three years.
00:14:45
Speaker
Legally, indeed. did a lot i did go. Actually, i did golf. We did a little chipping inside the house. We brought one club and a couple of golf balls, and we were fucking... it's It's a lot cooler to chip in your house when it's not your house.
00:15:00
Speaker
Why don't you chipping? who We're playing ship playing games, you know, trying to hit the ball into shit in the living room. But I chip in my house all the time anyways. but Oh, I'm sure that annoys your wife.
00:15:13
Speaker
Yeah. I chip right on the couch, so it's all good. but You can get a lot more free when it's not your house and you can bang off shit. um What the fuck else?
00:15:28
Speaker
Yeah. So you got one fish, you didn't even eat it. Fuck no. Do you ever eat them? Nope. you're not you're not a you know youre not know You don't like fish? You're not a fish fan?
00:15:39
Speaker
I love fish. I just ah don't like
00:15:46
Speaker
cleaning them. I don't know. We've had fish. We've eaten up there. i just well ah not Not anything in the cards this year. Oh. Yeah. And trout's not my favorite. Definitely not my favorite fish. It's not my favorite either. It's very fishy.
00:16:00
Speaker
I can move right along and never have a trout in my life and I'll be fine. I mean, it's okay because, you know, you you know when you catch it, you feel like, oh, maybe I'll eat one. and then i don't have any of that feeling. I just give it away. It's somebody that wants them and is going to enjoy it a lot more than I am. So I'm good with that.
00:16:18
Speaker
um Yeah, it was cool, though. It was a good time. um i had a great, oh, we went to a went to a brewery. And yeah everybody there is not like me. They drink and have a good time.
00:16:33
Speaker
And so we went to a brewery and I was, it was that opportunity to have another hop water, kind of like what Gabe.
00:16:45
Speaker
Okay. Yeah. iger towards The Tiger Tears. So they had some of that and it was okay. It wasn't as good as the Tiger Tears, but um I enjoyed it. But that allowed me to kind of like,
00:16:57
Speaker
feel a little bit more a part of. And I know that Gabe was telling me that's kind of why he made that thing was so you can like in that kind of environment, you can see you can hold on to a can that looks like everybody else. You got to like let everybody know that you're not drinking or anything.
00:17:13
Speaker
So that was cool. It's called super awesome hop water, which. But it wasn't super awesome. It was okay. I think I tried it and i was like, it's not the worst thing I've ever drank. And it's not the the best thing I've ever drank either.
00:17:26
Speaker
So, um, it was cool, but a very cool brewery there. And then I drove in the snow and that's like a fucking event for me. And it wasn't very, it was like fairly even snowing.
00:17:41
Speaker
Huh? Do you drive like a Californian in the snow? I don't know what that means Could go like fucking five miles an hour. And no, no, it wasn't sticking on the ground. It was just like snow, like i don't know, super light.
00:17:56
Speaker
Um, yeah it wasn't eventful it's still kind of like oh ah cause little snowflakes falling but um yeah it wasn't too bad but it just took forever dude so it's like six and a half hours to get home because we got to go got to go fucking three hours north and then to go four hours five or three and a half hours back down the hill west there's no good way around when uh 120 and uh 108 are okay no

Blade Show Preparations

00:18:27
Speaker
Well, good. Sounds you had a good week. It was great, man. i I really enjoyed it. um I really did. And you got to decompress. and We have another event in five weeks. Five weeks tomorrow, we will be on a plane going to Blade Show.
00:18:42
Speaker
Five weeks tomorrow? Five weeks tomorrow. That's good. Yeah. I can't wait. Yeah, me too. I'm excited.
00:18:53
Speaker
Kind of on track for what I wanted to get done. So, yeah. I'm not. No? Are you going to have anything to put on the table this year? should.
00:19:03
Speaker
All right. Get after it. I'll have something.
00:19:10
Speaker
But, yeah. I don't know. I feel like yesterday was a lot more fired up for all that.
00:19:19
Speaker
so but yeah For what? For Blatron, you mean? No. No.
00:19:25
Speaker
You're talking in riddles. I don't know what you're saying. feel Marv fired up and about the the trip. had more to it. I've lost some... You lost some oomph. It's already faded out of your mind because you went to work?
00:19:38
Speaker
Because I went to work, yeah. That's exactly what happened.
00:19:43
Speaker
Well, you know who we're going to see at Blade Show? um Everyone. Well, yeah, everyone. That leads into any one of the ad reads. Yeah. Way to narrow it down there, Tiger.
00:19:58
Speaker
We're going to see Frank from Two Bastards. Texas Smithian supplies. If you guys need a hammer, you got to go see Frank and Nita over at Two Bastards. They got all the peens, straight peens, curvy peens, crisscross peens, you name it.
00:20:15
Speaker
They got it. Yeah, it's like it's like ah Bubba on Forrest Gump. Straight peens. good perfect We got curvy peen, straight peen. Shrimp peen.
00:20:31
Speaker
You got a shrimpy peen, Dennis? I think you're the only one. something Everyone else got a fat peen and you got a shrimp peen. Well, you know, when it's cold out, sometimes you get a shrimpy peen. Yeah, I can relate, sir.
00:20:43
Speaker
I don't really burn out this weekend, I'll tell you that. sometimes Sometimes when you go in the water, you get a shrimpy peen, but...
00:20:55
Speaker
If you guys need eat a hammer, go check out Frank at Two Bastards. Tell them the boys at Triple T sent you because ain't it grand to have a fat peen in your hand.
00:21:07
Speaker
All right. I love that. Oh, man. We're going to see all our other friends there, too. We'll mention them in a little bit. um Oh, I will mention I got my order from Skiff Workshop today, which I really needed.
00:21:20
Speaker
um I was on hold from a couple of, well, I was kind of making do because I'm doing four folders at the same time. and I was kind of having a switch. I had enough bearings for two.
00:21:32
Speaker
So was kind of switching bearings back and forth, which was a pain in the butt. So I got some brand new bearings from the Skiff workshop. um And pretty soon I'll be ready to list those knives on the Drawpoint, that weekly newsletter that's absolutely free. So if you want to get some knives, maybe you want to get some knives sold before Bladeshow, maybe you're not going to Bladeshow. Go list them up on the drop point, skip all of this social media, hoo-ha, and get yourself out in front of people that are actually going to buy your knives. Go check out the drop point at the drop point.com.
00:22:12
Speaker
Yeah. So had a pretty shitty Hold on before you get into that. I am going to make a shirt for the guys that I fished with and it's going to say, I caught a hundred percent less fish than, and I'm going to try put like my face on the fish or something like that.
00:22:29
Speaker
So a hundred percent less fish. Um, yes. Yeah. I was going to say a hundred percent. Is that how you calculate? Yeah. I was the only one. There's only i one.
00:22:42
Speaker
Cause they were talking shit. Cause we all, we all, it's been like that before, but it's never been me. So, and as much as I love these guys, like when it comes to shit like that, like, you know, I'm not the most competitive person in the world, like in a, in a, like, Oh, you suck or anything. But I'll tell you what, somebody catching a fish right in front you will really piss you off. Especially if you ain't got anything.
00:23:03
Speaker
and And no one was happy for me. All these men ungrateful bastards, no one was like, oh yay. And then I was like, i had to keep keep reminding them, I've got 100% more fish than everyone here, so fuck off.
00:23:15
Speaker
I'll tell you what. i'll tell you why oh for sure fishing is one of those things you uh you know you have to be very proud of your achievements and remind people of their lack of achievement when you're absolutely that is one place where it is very appropriate be man so yeah i'm gonna get into it i had a shitty week last week like oh Really shitty.
00:23:42
Speaker
That makes my week better. Yeah, I'm sure. um It was just one of those weeks.

Weekly Frustrations and Challenges

00:23:47
Speaker
Like, financially, I was just fucking someone was using my balls like a fucking speed bag last week.
00:23:56
Speaker
What? Yeah. It was... What is with you tonight? not Bathing suits and speed bag balls? Yeah.
00:24:08
Speaker
bad um So right after our, um we recorded last Monday and then Tuesday morning, I find out that the laser that I sold the F1 Ultra that I shipped across the country to North Carolina was damaged in shipping. And it is my fault because I didn't lower the gantry all the way.
00:24:31
Speaker
I'm an idiot, but so I shipped it all the way there, 250 to ship damaged. it's damaged Xtool won't repair it. they won't It's out of warranty, blah, blah, blah. So I got to refund the guy, pay to ship it back. So there's like two grand.
00:24:49
Speaker
I'm not happy about this. um So it's back on the way to me. Hopefully I can fix it. and Well, I mean, you're just... Yeah. Okay. I get it.
00:25:02
Speaker
Yeah. You're not out two grand, but it sucks. I get it. yeah i had I had that money in my account and now I'm refunding it. So yes, I am.
00:25:13
Speaker
Yeah. Okay. i don't i that's That's a hill I don't care to die on right now. Yeah. But yeah. So that sucked. And then i had all of this. I'm working on these four folders.
00:25:26
Speaker
And I had all this. I had this big bar of Copper Damascus made. And I was going to make them all out of Copper. The same Copper Damascus, the ball bearing core. Well, had all four of them cut out. I have...
00:25:38
Speaker
I'm like 80% because like grinding the knife is pretty far down the steps. So I go to grind the blades.
00:25:49
Speaker
So I'm 80% on these knives and I find out unbeknownst to me, the copper is leaked out on one side. So they all look like shit, except for one.
00:26:00
Speaker
One survived because it was closer to the other end. So... I'm mad. And this was like probably 10 inches of steel.
00:26:12
Speaker
So I'm. Ouch. Yeah. And not not just that, all the time I spent on it. So so i I find this out Thursday. Friday morning, I start a new.
00:26:24
Speaker
No, sorry. i so I find this out Thursday midday. I start some new Damascus. At least I restacked and then I forged it Friday. and the yeah so i'm i'm kind of in a hurry i forge out you know i grabbed actually it's just some damascus spare piece i had i slapped some 1080 blah blah blah i thought it was going to look really good did double double strips of copper but i get myself in a hurry because i'm trying to now catch up to where i was so i get the billet all done everything's great
00:27:03
Speaker
Uh, but instead of leaving it on top of the forge, like I normally do let it cool. I'm like, no, I i don't want to get going. So I put it on the anvil and I know if I put it on the anvil, sometimes it'll work.
00:27:15
Speaker
Okay. I'm hoping it doesn't. I'm not, cause I'm going to be cutting this anyway. I don't, I'm not drilling it. I don't need to do any of that. And if I'm drilling, I'm going to be using carbide drills anyway. So I don't care how, how fast it cools.
00:27:29
Speaker
It does warp. But then, no this was Thursday. So then Friday morning, I come out and i'm like, okay, it's a little warped. I got to get it on the surface grinder. i don't know what is going through my head.
00:27:42
Speaker
ah Maybe, I don't know. I forget that it's copper Damascus and I figure, oh, I'm just going to put two pins under it and I'm just going to wail on with hammer and straighten it.
00:27:56
Speaker
I do get it straight. And then I take it to the surface grinder surface grind it, take it upstairs, laser all the patterns, cut them all out with the saw, and as soon as I start grinding them, I realized that the copper has separated on one side of the billet. The whole billet is garbage.
00:28:15
Speaker
I've already profiled these things. my You can believe there was a few for fuck's sakes. i Yeah, I'm thinking that for a book. Yeah.
00:28:26
Speaker
So don't get yourself in a hurry. is the moral of that story. That is a total, yeah. How do you mess up jareding? Well, the the joy of messing up jareding is you to do more jareding, so. Yeah. So I'm on, so there's four knives. I actually had two extra from the original build that I made, thinking I was going to use them for another project. i ended up using those. Those were garbage, too. So let's see, four.
00:28:51
Speaker
so So that's five, six, seven, eight, six, I'm on the 12, I've done 12 blades now for these four knives.
00:29:02
Speaker
So finally, finally they're done. I didn't, I didn't have to remake. I had another piece of Damascus, like an off cut of a copper Damascus. And then one's regular Damascus um and one CPM 154.
00:29:15
Speaker
It's a very human thing for you to do, Dennis. Yeah. And then, and then there's just a bunch of other things like jet skis are still down. Long story, not going to get into it. 1,200 bucks. I've got like this other bullshit thing for taxes.
00:29:31
Speaker
can buy Logan a car, which I paid for. um So that was more money. And it was just like, like I said, speed bag. Yeah. It was just one of those days or one of those weeks.
00:29:45
Speaker
Dude, i like I do not want to kick you right now. I think life did it for me last week while I was gone. Yeah, exactly. It's because you were on vacation. You weren't working hard, so therefore it decided the world decided to punish me.
00:30:01
Speaker
Oh, man. Yeah, because, yeah, yeah, i have I have my fair share. You're good. Someone had to be punished, and it wasn't you, so it was but it's all it's all good. Those four knives are back. um I'm just doing final shaping on them, so they should be.
00:30:20
Speaker
It won't be done this week because I had a class Thursday, Friday. But um they should be really close. I'll like i'll have to etch the blades and do um you know do the blackening of the bolsters and shit like that.
00:30:34
Speaker
Yeah. You know what all this makes me think? What? if you If you don't want to fuck up a bunch of Damascus billets, just go see Coy and the boys at Baker Forge

Promoting Damascus Steel Products

00:30:45
Speaker
and Tool. They got ah all kinds of stuff for you. um And it's not leaked out.
00:30:53
Speaker
The whole bar will be pristine and usable. So, yeah, go check out ah Baker Forge and Teal, to Teal, a tool, um and get yourself, this week's drop is, i saying this right? Tiger Mine Nishim?
00:31:10
Speaker
Yeah. Wow, you nailed it. thought for sure you were going mess that up. Yeah, it's not Nishim. um Yeah, that's live. Three alloys, a nickel shim, and one of the cleanest patterns that they have ever put out. So go grab yourself a ah bar before it's gone.
00:31:28
Speaker
Use the app for one day early access to the drops um next time. And then while you're at it, go ah you know follow Dennis's process of clean, etch, and protect it. Get yourself some Grime Reaper, clean it up, and etch it with Gator Piss, some OG, the Gator Max, or Heavy, and protect it with Gator Skin.
00:31:57
Speaker
And load your card up, use a discount code TTT10 for 10% off, save yourself a bunch of money, have some cool shit, and and zero, for fuck's sakes, involved. I was thinking about Koi because I finally...
00:32:12
Speaker
Again, i'm i'm trying to i'm I'm trying to get knives done without having to do a lot of forging um before blade show. So I pulled that big piece of um stainless Damascus we made when he was here, which is like, it was pretty, I forgot how thick that thing was. It was like 5 16th thick. um Yeah, because it because it was not easy to thin Yeah, it did not want to move under the under anything. um well we got yours thinner um we worked hard getting yours thin enough for a chef night but mine i wanted it thicker because i was going to make something like a buoy so i did profile the buoy um like in its full thickness went to heat treat it and um you know wait put it through the plates came out fine and i i don't even know when
00:33:08
Speaker
like when it warped, I'm thinking maybe it was during, um, when I put it in the freezer. I don't know, but the thing worked. it It's like five sixteenths thick. I could not believe this thing warped.
00:33:24
Speaker
wow and it worked like you if you set it on the anvil it was there was like like a half an inch in the center maybe well maybe three eighths of gap in the center like that's how much it worked and it was thick and it took me i did a little put it on my story today uh i hit that thing probably 10 000 times with the carbide hammer and i'm not even exactly like i did i show the picture of how many dimples are in that knife it took me two hours to get that thing straight oh that's horrible yeah but uh it it worked and it it came out and ground it today i forgot i haven't done anything with cpm in a long time ah just grinding that stuff was like a chore
00:34:10
Speaker
I forgot how hard. I didn't check the hardness on that one yet, but I got a feeling it's up at like 62 or higher. That must have been a joy to the sand too, huh?
00:34:21
Speaker
Well, haven't sanded yet. Haven't even finished the grinding yet. So, yeah, it's not. I'll be using the Sandshark on that one for sure because, yeah, it's going to be a beast.
00:34:35
Speaker
It's looking pretty, but. ah Yeah. So it's cool. I haven't used stainless Damascus in a while. and It's just, it's so nice because it stays so clean while you're grinding it.
00:34:47
Speaker
Like there's no, so there's no flash rust. It's like pristine when you're grinding it. It just looks so pretty. So I want you to get after that, uh, stainless Damascus. Uh, yeah, you're making it sound so fun. Yeah. You're doing a chef knife. be easier.
00:35:07
Speaker
Yeah. Yeah, for sure. You know what I did though? I forgot I was going to mention is that, um, ah told you I brought the, the wicked edge up there and I, the, the knife that I almost had done, it was, it, it was like 12,000, 12,000 behind the edge. So i just sharpened it up. And then, um, I brought, I remember it. I pulled a Jared that last year when I was up there, I took one of the very first, I think I made a batch of, ah I think it was five knives of these bird and trouts. And they were like number six, seven, eight, nine, 10, 11, whatever.
00:35:43
Speaker
So they were, they were so very new. projects for me, very new knives. and And I, and I gave them to them. And I, last year when I was up there, um I took one back from my buddy and told him, I told him when I gave it to him, use the shit out of it, see what happens. So he did that. um I told him I'd sharpen it and give it it like a little spa.
00:36:01
Speaker
And I completely fucking forgot about it. And I had it on my bench and I walked past it when I was packing shit up. um But I never resharpened it. So I took it up there and took the wicked edge.
00:36:14
Speaker
There's one thing about being a knife maker like that. I'm, I'm very confident about is that when we give them a knife, it is like 90%, probably even higher than that going to be the sharpest thing that they've ever, that the user has ever had.
00:36:33
Speaker
And I was like, told him that this was going to be that. And so I, I, I sharpened that thing up there with them on the wicked edge and man, it's, I, I don't know how, there's not a single piece of paper left in that house. I guess I mean, a good couple hours of sitting at the table where they're drinking and we're talking and bullshit, listen to music and stuff. I mean, just she look, I mean, it was snowing inside the house with all the fucking paper, ship confetti everywhere.
00:37:01
Speaker
um But yeah, that's, it's pretty cool to see like ah a grown man, the joy that just something that sharp, you know, gives somebody, you know what I mean? um And that, that, that's one, one thing I'm pretty confident that we get to do for, for the people that get our stuff.
00:37:18
Speaker
Yeah. Cause you know, project production knives are, you know, some of them are sharp, but they, they're not. And most of them are, and most of the production knives are not strapped. They're, they're sharpened with a machine and they're not stropped and stropping makes a huge difference, right? You have to take that bar off.
00:37:35
Speaker
Yeah. So yeah, that was cool. And then I also got to, I got, they were, you know, I had a bunch of shit. I brought a bunch of shit to show and, and then,
00:37:47
Speaker
but I don't know. I got into like a conversation with them for like two hours about talking about how to like make Damascus and, um, you know, just the process of knife making. And, that was fun.
00:37:59
Speaker
Like I, say I say this a lot that, you know, I don't enjoy talking shop about what I do for a living, but man, can I just nerd the fuck out on talking about knives and the whole process. And, you know, it, it, it definitely fires me up when, and then you see somebody take an interest in like,
00:38:16
Speaker
you know, asking questions and stuff. And I very, very easily forget how much I've learned and and what I do know, which is, you know, I mean, you've probably forgotten more than I know, but you know, it's still, it's a cool feeling. And I, and I, and I love sharing it with other people.
00:38:35
Speaker
You know, a lot don't kid yourself, but it was, it was fun. I had a good time kind of nerding out like that. you know You know who else knows a lot?
00:38:47
Speaker
The guys in Ameribraid. They know a lot about grinders. They're freaking aerospace nautical underwater submarine engineers, dude.
00:38:58

oh i i did think it was funny thursday morning when uh Get a knock on your door. Get a knock. Well, you told me he was going to knock. Jared Jr. shows up because Jared, I have my rotary platen, which I actually didn't end up using yet because of the two-day delay. um So you you would have been off the hook. But I said I needed it for the weekend, and Jared forgot. So he sent his son ah to deliver it. And then, yeah, we were talking for a few minutes, busting your balls about...
00:40:14
Speaker
why your uh your air system keeps failing and ah that was pretty uh it was a very irritating morning i bet i when you told me i'm like oh i bet he was pissed about that oh i was pissed and i was when i remembered i was just too far to turn around like it would have cost me a lot i was supposed to leave early and i was like i am not driving all the way home then coming back and then driving four hours to fucking reno And then I remember Jared drives now. So he was cool enough to go take it there. But I was just going to say, like, yeah, borrow your buddy's tooling arms and forget them because they're awesome. i will be
00:41:02
Speaker
I will be needing it tomorrow. Yeah. Cool. Tomorrow. Yeah. Yeah, i was not going to listen to that shit. No fucking was I going to be like, and I needed it. and
00:41:21
Speaker
Oh, man. um You know, i I saw a movie over the weekend. i went and saw that Hail Mary project. Have you seen that? I have no idea what you're talking about.
00:41:33
Speaker
Really? Oh, it is like the number one movie right now. What's it about? I don't know anything about it. Oh, geez. so here I was going to talk about it with you. um ha Hail Mary Project is about you know one of those, you know i won't say I guess it's a you can consider it a catastrophe movie. you know The world's going to die, blah, blah, blah. They send someone out on a spaceship.
00:41:58
Speaker
And it's, um um what's his name? Ryan Gosling. Gosling. And fun fact, we're from the same hometown in Canada.
00:42:11
Speaker
um
00:42:15
Speaker
um But yeah, it's a really good movie. It's put two and a half hours. I think they could they should have trimmed it down to two hours, but it was really good. It it starts out a little slow, but um it was really good. i Basically, he meets an alien, and the whole thing is about his relationship with this alien.
00:42:35
Speaker
Sounds very sci-fi-ish, but it really was entertaining. You should go see it. I saw a Balls Up. Balls Mark Wahlberg. How was that?
00:42:47
Speaker
Have you seen that? I saw a preview for it, but dude it was I don't even know what it's about. Mark Wahlberg movies are great, right? Because you some of them are you know serious where he like actually acts, but he's pretty funny too.
00:43:02
Speaker
um So we we threw it on, I think it was Wednesday night before I left. and it's not't just It's still in theaters. No, it was on like Netflix or some shit.
00:43:15
Speaker
Oh, maybe that's where I saw the preview for it. Yeah, yeah, no, I saw the preview on Netflix. Yeah. And we put it on, i had zero expectations and but it was fun. It

Movie Review: 'Balls Up'

00:43:23
Speaker
was funny. I enjoyed it. It was perfectly just dumb enough to make me laugh my ass off. And yeah, it was okay.
00:43:31
Speaker
I didn't mind it. It was, what is it about? It's about, uh, I have a story after this about the, the, the name of this movie is something is a game we used to play in, uh, in Canada, but go ahead.
00:43:47
Speaker
Well, okay. It's about a ah company that makes condoms. And this condom covers covers the the main part and the buddies that accompany it.
00:44:03
Speaker
So it's like a full full concealment of of the weapons involved there. So it was pretty cool. Alls and all.
00:44:14
Speaker
and it And yeah, it was fun. good time. So when I hear balls up, the only that wrote that totally is like reminds me when I was teen, me and my dumb friends used to play this game where you would be like, there'd be whatever, three of us or whatever it was. We'd have a tennis ball and you throw a tennis ball against the wall and you have to catch it with one hand. And if whatever, if you miss or you drop it or something like that, you have to stand against the...
00:44:45
Speaker
the wall with your hands like this and your ass out and everyone gets a free shot of your balls from behind. So that's, ah that's the game. The game used to called balls up. Oh, you freaky Canadians. You goodness gracious.
00:45:01
Speaker
So that's what it reminds me of.
00:45:05
Speaker
Maybe those condoms in the show would help, but. oh
00:45:13
Speaker
I can't. I just can't. ah
00:45:20
Speaker
I'm sorry. There's nothing to do when you can't leave this one alone, buddy. I gotta leave this one alone.
00:45:29
Speaker
I've had so many places that go with three Canadians throwing balls at them. Y'all can't catch, obviously, so. Well, not all the time, but
00:45:44
Speaker
Oh, you get a pass, my friend. I can't. you All right. So now it's time to talk about my other favorite Canadian, Mr. Lawrence Lake from Maritime Knife Supply.
00:45:59
Speaker
And you just in the notes, yeah you have in the notes, very cool ball marker. That is too appropriate. Yeah.
00:46:19
Speaker
this is great radio us laughing like hyenas for five minutes seriously in the notes you have a very cool ball mark
00:46:31
Speaker
oh my for me i can't believe you transitioned into that after fucking
00:46:41
Speaker
You guys need a ball marker.
00:46:50
Speaker
You gotta do that read now. For all your knife making needs, go check out Lawrence Lake Maritime Knife Supply. He's going to have you covered. All the protection you need. All the PPE.
00:47:10
Speaker
Oh, he's got you covered. Abrasive, uh, grinders, handle material, tooling. and he's got it all. If he doesn't have it, he's going to take care you and figure out how to get it to you.
00:47:26
Speaker
Uh, all the lawmakers you need. all the ball markers yeah i i put this on because my buddy sent me a very cool care package the other last week and i didn't but i forgot to bring it up but he made me a um a custom a lasered ball marker with my logo on it And I was super cool.
00:47:47
Speaker
I just had zero idea who was going to be on the tail end of Dennis's freaking ball pecking events. Oh, yeah.
00:47:59
Speaker
Good stuff. I mean, I guess while we're on the ah yeah we're on the the balls up topic, we should talk about Gripex, the maker of the stranger. Yeah.
00:48:14
Speaker
Yeah. If you want some but awesome handle material, go check out grip tech composites, IG, uh, IG that's grip tech official maker of grip X grip X, uh, 3d, uh, limitless, um, glow in the dark stuff.
00:48:27
Speaker
Uh, the newsletter is back out. Um, go check that out, sign up for it. You get a discount code. Um, for the featured color of the week. um This week it is gray and you can use the discount code triple T 10 and double up on that, the featured color of the week.
00:48:48
Speaker
And yeah, awesome material. I showed that off. One of the guys does want to um some some grip tech on their knife, so that that'll be cool.
00:49:00
Speaker
But yeah, go check out Matt at Grip Tech Composites and them the boys at Triple T send you. Yeah, I saw Koi on um one of the Baker Forge um posts had a whole block of grip tech on a knife that looked pretty cool.
00:49:19
Speaker
Very cool. Yeah. Yeah. All right. You want to do some maker spotlight or you got other topics?
00:49:31
Speaker
um i have a couple other topics, but we can, we can go into that. um I was just cruising through the feed again and came across bison blades. Yeah.
00:49:45
Speaker
Yeah. From Lufkin, Texas. um He's a Texas knife maker, guild, Lone Star maker, quality handmade knives and leather work made in la Lufkin, Texas.
00:50:01
Speaker
He's got 688 followers. And yeah, I was just cruising through. i can't remember which one popped up, but so I'd
00:50:15
Speaker
opened up the account and I was digging the stuff. I see a lot of similarities and kind of like my style. ah he got the little swoop on a handful of knives. Um, but, uh, yeah, ya cool.
00:50:27
Speaker
I think this guy's doing some really clean EDC work and, uh, hunters skinners. Um, Oh, that one, uh, what is it? Four rows down.
00:50:40
Speaker
That looks a lot like one of yours.
00:50:43
Speaker
Mm-hmm. Yep. Another earlier for sure. ah But, uh, it's pretty cool. I I'm digging it. I dig it all. He's got some really, um, he had some interesting Damascus. Um, not sure if he's making it or not, but neither here nor there on that.
00:51:00
Speaker
And then there's some really cool finishes. Um, I see one, it's a ways down on the right hand side, but it's got like this green, um the handle is like kind of battle worn um but it's got some like green wash on it it's pretty cool looking at it's ah it's a ways down you gotta keep it yeah i don't see it but i don't dig in people with me scrolling but yeah anyways really cool stuff uh doesn't have that many followers so i thought i'd give him a shout out and uh
00:51:35
Speaker
Yeah, go give him a follow and tell him the boys at Triple T. Yeah, when you said when it was Bison Blades, I thought it was my buddy Jeff, one of my students. He's Bison Blade Works. So not quite the same, but yeah.
00:51:49
Speaker
No. I wasn't following him, so... the algorithm popped them up there so very cool very cool um this week i have uh zach perlo knives no underscore zach z-a-c-k perlo p-e-r-l-o-w knives zach perlo knives um folder guy makes some really really cool folders um Yeah, I was really impressed. Just came by this guy today. And I really like the one that's, um well, it's probably just because it's an awesome picture, but the black and white one that's like three rows down on the right with the hollow grind. Just beautiful. Really awesome picture and like really cool knife. I think that's a the same as a lot of those models.
00:52:40
Speaker
The one on the right, um three rows down, the black and white picture. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, really cool. Oh, that's, that's gorgeous. Some really cool jumping on that thing. Noah would love it.
00:52:56
Speaker
ah Yeah. Some awesome stuff. It's got the spider coal. Yeah. Yeah. hole in there yeah It's cool stuff. Yeah. Very cool. So go give him a follow. He's got 917 followers. So I think we can at least push that up by six or seven.
00:53:13
Speaker
So go, go do it. Yeah.
00:53:18
Speaker
Absolutely. Yeah. It was really cool stuff. Yeah. dig that So five weeks till blade show. What are you going to, are you going finish?
00:53:30
Speaker
I don't know. Probably some Intrepid's goal is to actually bring a culinary knife of some kind so I can get tortured by our fellow buddies, get some feedback, sell it. that's my ah That's my goal. I get start working on a new display this year.
00:53:53
Speaker
going to do yeah i'm having a little ah little anxiety over this moving. I don't know. I'm not a big fan of change.
00:54:04
Speaker
But it ah it just dawned on me that... Yeah, we're not going to be in the same spot. Well, I think the only person that's still in our old spot is Eric.
00:54:19
Speaker
Eric. Yes, Eric. Sorry. Yeah, Eric in the corner there. um He's like the only one. i think Mark didn't, the guy besides didn't go. i don't know if the guys...
00:54:30
Speaker
The EDC guys beside us are going to be back. um Holland's gone. so it's all new guys. Yeah. Yeah.
00:54:42
Speaker
So I don't feel bad about leaving. um ah don't feel bad. I feel I just like I said, it's just.
00:54:51
Speaker
Comfort. Yeah. I haven't looked at who our new neighbors are, so I should check the the seating chart to see who's beside us.
00:55:04
Speaker
So we're going to be at 7-0. We're 23-0 usually, but now we're moved up to 7-0.
00:55:14
Speaker
So much closer to the front. Oh, man. Yeah. I still face the front, but I'm to the overhead banner this year, so it'll be easy to spot us. um yeah And this year I'm going to make, like, I haven't quite decided how I'm go to do, but I have like a magnetic, like a felt covered, but magnetic board. So the knives are going to be up um kind of on a 45 degree angle.
00:55:39
Speaker
And they'll just stick to the board, at least for some of them. I think like the chefs or the low end knives will be below. And then the higher end ones and the folders will be up on the.
00:55:50
Speaker
And this is thing has got to fit in my suitcase. So it's got to be, you know, not crazy huge. But um yeah. So going to be doing a new display, have a new overhead. So I'm excited to see how things progress this year.
00:56:10
Speaker
Nice. But got to finish those knives first. Yeah. We're going to get to see our buddy Travis Haynes from Pelican Pace too. If you are in the market for some premium wax, go check out pelicanpace.com, maker of hard wax, soft wax, pelican oil, hand-solve, soap, the cast iron butternut seasoning.
00:56:33
Speaker
He'll be there. in He was in the small room last year, right? Yeah. Anyways, yeah, you, uh, before you get there, uh, while you're making the mad dash to get some inventory ready, go, uh, re up on, uh, some Pelican paste right now. Uh, use the discount code triple T 10 for 10% off since Dennis just froze up on me. Um,
00:56:57
Speaker
We'll also see Spencer and the boys that Even Heat Kilns. Even Heat's a family owned and operated a company since 1948, building the highest quality heat treat ovens around. And always good to to see him. Well, folks, we just got a little gremlins in the system here. My whole machine just decided to take a shit and restart. So that was weird.
00:57:26
Speaker
I've literally never had that happen with a Mac before. Like you went like froze and then my whole machine just reset. Yeah. I was in the middle of an ad read and then you went like goofy and then I did the even heat ah and you never came back.
00:57:46
Speaker
i don't know. Maybe it'd be faster now. Who knows? Hallelujah. Are we done on ads or do we have another one? i can't remember now. The only thing I was going to say was that during this whole... During the trip,
00:58:00
Speaker
um I realized that... And this is the first time this has happened for me. That my clean date is Saturday.
00:58:17

And I had no idea. and normally... i I know that I'm approaching it. And, right um, but I completely forgot. i was shocked. I was just, there was some new people there and somebody offered me a beer and I was like, yeah, no, no, I don't drink. And, and then, but it's like, yeah, I don't, how long has it been? And I went to the, to my little app and,
00:58:41
Speaker
was like, holy shit. it's it's It's like next week. So it was a week ago when I when i realized it. um So yeah, if all goes well and I don't get loaded on Saturday...
00:58:56
Speaker
If I don't just throw it all away, yeah, I'll be celebrating 19 years. Wow. Congrats. Yeah. And then it starts I start to think about it and realize that, you know, and this will be like repeat if we make it another year. But I get loopy around this time. Yeah. You said this last year that you get loopy around the day.
00:59:19
Speaker
It's a legit phenomenon. Like, I start getting overly emotional. sporadic uh you know like things just it gets weird and uh and it's kind of like it's definitely subconscious but um and then i'll be like oh okay that makes sense i got a clean date coming up uh yeah so the all that happened and you know kind of sharing a a little thing or some things with with people and stuff and yeah it just kind of
00:59:53
Speaker
And I think last year, I mean, not last year, but last week, if I recall, I was talking about how I was doing um doing a gratitude list. And, you know, it all kind of like full circle on me. And, you know, so the point is that I'm trying to make is, you know, this this staying clean and sober, whatever the hell you guys relate to, or you don't relate to, you know, it takes work.
01:00:19
Speaker
Um, and, and you got to continuously put some effort into it. Otherwise uh, the freedoms that come from, you know, making that choice, uh, you know, the old shit shows back up and, uh, and it's, it's kind of a bitch sometimes. So it all made a lot of sense to me. But the the one thing that I kind of took away from this weekend was like how I've been really focusing on this year about
01:00:50
Speaker
understanding that all people

Reflections on Sobriety and Growth

01:00:52
Speaker
aren't my people and trying to focus my efforts on like tightening up my circle and in and hitching my wagon to the people that i want to uh and understanding that everybody can be who they are and that's okay i mean i don't you don't need to be my my best friend my my buddy or you know um and and that's okay right i gotta learn to accept people for who they are and all that good stuff but just really trying to focus my energy on on that But I mean, it's still to this day after 19 years of, or not 19, sorry, I don't have that yet. 18 plus years of doing this thing.
01:01:28
Speaker
um You know, you get to talk about feelings and emotions and all that stuff. And I think it's just, it's, it really is probably the saddest thing to me to watch grown ass men, incapable.
01:01:40
Speaker
i don't say if it's incapable, have had not had the opportunity to learn how to express emotion, receive love, talk about it like and it just breaks my heart. And I'm super grateful for the opportunity to have been a gigantic fuck up.
01:01:59
Speaker
and had the opportunity to go through the process that I did to learn all that stuff. So I don't, I don't struggle with a lot of those things. I mean, I'd struggle with a lot of shit like that. Probably normies I'd say would, you know, think that that's not that big of a deal, but man, and what I don't, what I don't struggle with is learning. how to love the people that I love, how to say that, how to accept it, how to talk about it, how to like, you know, look at somebody you see that they're struggling, you know, and and be okay with, you know, trying to get intimate on that kind of level. And, and, I'm extremely grateful for the opportunity to be a conduit to allow, um, some people to maybe get in touch with that.
01:02:39
Speaker
Um, And I have no idea why I'm saying that or or what it's about. But when I was driving down the hill, um it's really was just, it was an overwhelming feeling that I had and of of trying to accept that, you know, life is different in many ways from, from back in the day when I was out there getting loaded. But ah it is all a million times better, a million times better, even with having to deal with you for the past four or five years.
01:03:13
Speaker
yeah You know, i I've actually been thinking about you in this this topic. um have Have you ever seen the show Euphoria? Uh-huh.
01:03:25
Speaker
Of course. I just started watching it and strap in buddy. It is a tough watch, man. Like see think it's great. It's a great show. It's very gritty. It's really like, I have new appreciation for Zendaya's acting ability, but, uh,
01:03:46
Speaker
Yeah, it's it's there's some tough things in that show. And, you know, there's I think about i think about you and all the stuff you went through and like I see her struggle in the show and it's rough.
01:03:59
Speaker
She goes through a lot shit. And I think it's really important. i don't know if it's important, but I think what I like about it is that it not only does it talk about the our show, the you know the dirty part of you know using, but it's like I said, it's the feelings.
01:04:13
Speaker
It's the uncomfortableness, the the the the what I found out to be like the catalyst of why i used to use um, behind, you know, being broken as a person and not, not having connections with, with people and not, and the inability to to participate in relationships with people. And, um, yeah, I mean, it really just comes down to that. Like, um, and like I said, I'm, I'm,
01:04:38
Speaker
I appreciate shows like that. um There's a lot of cool things on the, on that show too, that make me laugh. But just, just how stupid we are when we're getting loaded and the dumb ass things that happen. But ah I probably appreciate it in ah an entirely different way. But yeah, I mean, like i said, more more than anything, I'm, I'm just grateful for, i wouldn't change it I talk about like, I don't, I don't agree with people. I don't believe people when they say that they don't have any regrets in life.
01:05:10
Speaker
You know, I think that's bullshit. If you're, if you're at this point in your life and you don't want to redo of some kind. Yeah. you just not Yeah. yeah yeah However, um i would have shortened the, I would have shortened the journey ah down that road and I wouldn't have hurt as many people and myself, you know, as much as I did. But, you know, I'm, I'm, I'm grateful to be on this side of it.
01:05:33
Speaker
God is it absolutely incredible to think that I have the opportunity to have, you know, continuously made the decision to not get loaded for 19 years. Yeah. yeah That's, that's crazy.
01:05:45
Speaker
So this is as good as you're going to feel all day. That's the one, that's the one buddy. That is the absolute one. And I can't wait. I won't get, to this will be the first one I celebrate on a weekend. It's been in a while anyways. But yeah, that's, I look forward to that every year to go into that.
01:06:01
Speaker
in my buddy's office and tell him he looks that's that's as good as you're gonna feel all day thanks yeah that watching that show like does remind me of you but yeah not not in all the bad ways but the good ways do I appreciate that.
01:06:21
Speaker
I guess I do. Yeah. and And that's all I got to say. That's all I got. And that's all have to say about that.
01:06:32
Speaker
What was that? Do it again. Hey, thanks for listening. ah Peter Griffin. Thanks for joining us, sir. Come on. Don't bullshit me.
01:06:45
Speaker
Don't bullshit me. All right. We're out of here. Thanks, folks. And that's a wrap. Hey, thanks for listening.
01:07:06
Speaker
