I'm sorry for the late posting today. I tried several times to get today's reading posted to the podcast apps. The episode kept stopping at 90% while processing and wouldn't go any further. I finally had to go to work. When I got home, almost 10 hours later, it was still stuck at 90% processed. I started over again and still had the same problem multiple times.

Today we are continuing with Psalms in the section entitled Songs for Times of Trouble. We will read Psalm 77, Psalm 91, Psalm 95 verses 1-7. In our discussion we will be reminded of the times that God has saved  us, been there for us, and cared for us. We will remember that God IS  Love! We will be called to worship Him and praise Him for always being  there for us and never leaving us and for all the wonderful things He does, every single day!

Speaker
Hello everybody, today is Monday, it's March 24th, 2025, and you're here with Robin at In the Family Way Coaching. We are here for our daily Bible reading today.
00:00:14
Speaker
I'm so glad that you're here joining me as we read through the Bible in one year. We are using the Day by Day Kids Bible, and it's been written by Karen Henley.
00:00:25
Speaker
We know what time it is. It's time to get out our calendar. So if you have your calendar, go ahead and pop that out and stick that sticker on because you're about to hear the Bible today.

Technical Challenges in Content Creation

00:00:39
Speaker
Thank you for joining me today, whether you are watching the video or whether you are listening on your favorite podcasting app. I'm so glad that you're here today to read the Bible with me. I wanted to ah give praise yesterday for yesterday, something for yesterday.
00:00:53
Speaker
i ah If you watch or listen, then at the very end of yesterday's video, I had um an edited blurb. I did one bit of editing yesterday because when I had paused the the video so that I could clear my throat,
00:01:11
Speaker
I ended up hitting stop and then record again. And it ended up at the end of my recording producing two videos for me. One that was two minutes, which was basically my intro.
00:01:22
Speaker
And then the balance of the episode. And... um I just said, okay, God, I guess you're going to teach me how to merge two videos together. And so if you look on the video itself, if you're watching the video for yesterday, you will see that it doesn't normally have the word descript in very large letters, which is called a watermark across the video.
00:01:44
Speaker
And that is where I was able to take the two videos and merge them together. Now, I thought that I had stuck the video, ah the second video, the longer one, at the end of the first two-minute video, but I guess I was slightly off. And so at the very end of the video, there's a little bit of recorded blurb where it's, ah or I kind of stuck it in the middle of the very end of the first video.
00:02:12
Speaker
and So there's a ah tiny bit at the end. So if you notice that and we're like, what the heck is going on with that? ah That is what it was. But I am so ah thankful that God taught me how to stick the two videos together.
00:02:25
Speaker
So now I know that it can be done. i didn't edit anything else. I just stuck them both together because I'd have no idea how I would otherwise be able to get and the video up.
00:02:37
Speaker
Now, if you are um watching on Spotify, that ah has the correct video as well. where Where did it not? Oh, i think the only place I wasn't able to get it uploaded because it ended up being too big of a file when I exported it was on TikTok.
00:02:54
Speaker
So there on TikTok, it is missing the first two minutes of the intro and it just goes straight into it. So if you are watching on TikTok and you are missing that first two minutes and it just goes straight into what I am talking about and you thought, well, that's a little different for her.
00:03:08
Speaker
That is why i recorded it, but it didn't make it onto it because I couldn't upload such a large video. It ended up exporting in what is called 4K. So there we go.
00:03:19
Speaker
I was just so thankful God at least let me get that done because I was really happy with ah the way he had recorded it with me and I didn't want to have to redo it.
00:03:29
Speaker
So let's

Exploring Psalm 77: Seeking God in Distress

00:03:31
Speaker
go ahead and get going. We are reading in the book of Psalms, and we have about two weeks of the Psalms every day. And ah we have three or four different sections of the Psalms.
00:03:42
Speaker
Right now, we are reading in the section of Psalms that is entitled Songs for Times of Trouble. And just like we did yesterday, we will talk about each psalm individually since they are their own individual psalm and they are not a part of a continuous story that is happening in our daily reading.
00:04:03
Speaker
So here we go. The first psalm we are going to be reading today is Psalm 77, and it's been entitled by the Day by Day Kids Bible as i Will Remember.
00:04:16
Speaker
I cried to God for help. I looked for God when I was upset. I held out my hands to him at night, but my soul would not feel better. remembered you, God.
00:04:29
Speaker
thought about you and my spirit felt helpless. You kept me from closing my eyes. I was too upset to talk.
00:04:41
Speaker
I thought about the days that came before this. I thought about years of long ago. I remembered my songs in the night, my heart thought. My spirit asked, Will God forget me forever?
00:04:56
Speaker
Will he never show his love to me again? Doesn't he keep his promises? Does he forget to be kind? Has his anger kept his kindness away?
00:05:10
Speaker
Then I thought, I will remind God of how he took care of us. I will remember your wonders from long ago. i will think of the great things that you did.
00:05:23
Speaker
Your ways are best, God, and you are the God who does wonders. You saved your people with your strong arm. The water saw you and splashed. Clouds spilled their rain.
00:05:35
Speaker
Your thunder was heard in the wind. Your lightning lit up the world. The earth shook, your path went through the sea, but no one saw your footsteps, your footprints.
00:05:52
Speaker
I will remember is the name of that song. How many times now, if you are young then, and you're one of the kids watching, then you may not have experienced yet being up in the middle of the night and being worried about something or just being upset about something that's happened in your day.
00:06:10
Speaker
And, If we are older, I know that all of us have experienced that. And there are times when we just wanna feel better and we just don't. And it says here that, I looked for God when I was upset.
00:06:23
Speaker
I held out my hands to him at night, but my soul would not feel better. Sometimes it just seems like no matter what, we just don't seem to be able to get it out of our head and feel better.
00:06:36
Speaker
I remembered you, God, and I thought about you and my spirit felt helpless.
00:06:42
Speaker
It is always okay to tell God the truth about how we feel. In fact, that's the first step toward feeling better. That is what confession is. Confession is telling him how we feel.
00:06:55
Speaker
It's not simply saying, I'm sorry. Confession is not, I'm sorry. If you go and let's say you were arrested for something, a crime, And the police officer asks you to write down your confession.
00:07:08
Speaker
You don't write down, I'm sorry, i did this. You write down the truth. You write down what you did. That is what a confession is. When you confess, you say what is true. You say what you did.
00:07:19
Speaker
You say what you feel with God. And God wants us to do this. That is true confession. Because when we tell God our truth, what we think is true, he can replace that if we let him with his truth.
00:07:36
Speaker
So after we tell him how upset we are,
00:07:43
Speaker
then we will then he will tell us his ways are best and he will remind us of how he's always here with us. It's a lie that we feel like we are alone, that we feel like God is not answering and that God's kindness runs out.
00:07:59
Speaker
That is not true.
00:08:01
Speaker
His ways are best and he is the God who does wonders He saves his people with his strong arm. The water saw you and splashed. Clouds spilled their rain.
00:08:14
Speaker
They're talking about the fact that God brings the rain. He brings everything. He's in charge of everything. And he has not left us. Your path went through the sea, but no one saw your footprints.
00:08:28
Speaker
He parted the Red Sea when they crossed over when they were leaving the Egypt.
00:08:35
Speaker
And in the same way, he is with us now. We might not see his footprints, but we know he is here with us always. And we can always take how we feel to him because that's the first step toward recovering is telling us how we feel.
00:08:49
Speaker
So he can replace that with the truth. The truth was he has always been there. He is the God who does wonders and he saves us with his strong arm.

Reflection on Psalm 91: God's Protection

00:09:00
Speaker
The next Psalm is entitled, A Whole Heart. And it's been written by David. Psalm 86.
00:09:10
Speaker
Hear me, God, and answer me. I'm poor and I need you. Keep my life safe because I am all yours. Be kind to me, God, for I call to you all day long.
00:09:25
Speaker
Teach me your way, God. I will follow you. Give me a heart that is all yours. Then I'll cheer for you, Lord my God.
00:09:36
Speaker
i will praise you with all my heart. I will always tell how great you are. Your love for me is great, and you are a kind God.
00:09:47
Speaker
You do not get angry quickly. You have plenty of love. You keep your promises. Make me strong and save me. Give me a sign of your goodness so that my enemies will see it.
00:10:01
Speaker
Then they will not know which way to turn. To go. You've helped me, God. You who have cared about me. And that's the end of Psalm 86 by David.
00:10:17
Speaker
I love this one. This one is great. Because it reminds he is reminded... that God is wonderful and he calls to you. We call to him all day long and we want a heart that is all God's, not wandering after our own things, but for all for God.
00:10:38
Speaker
And he is such a kind God who doesn't get angry with us quickly when we do the same things over and over and when we're worried about the same things over and over. He has plenty of love.
00:10:50
Speaker
Do you know is love. love It's not just that he has plenty of it. That is who God is. God is love. That's amazing.
00:11:02
Speaker
that's That's worth a whole day of meditation all on that just by itself. That God is love. Everything God is and does. That's his identity. He is love.
00:11:15
Speaker
He keeps his promises.
00:11:19
Speaker
Make me strong and saved.
00:11:22
Speaker
You have helped me, God. You cared about me. Remember all the times that God has cared about us, that he has helped us. And surely that will help us feel better when we're having a hard time or if we feel that God has left us in some way, because that's the enemy trying to convince us.
00:11:43
Speaker
Under his wings is the title of Psalm 91. The person who lives safe in God most high will rest in his shadow. God has all power.
00:11:55
Speaker
I will talk about God. I will say, he's like a fort to me. He is my God and I trust in him. God will save you from traps.
00:12:07
Speaker
He will save you from sickness that takes your life. He will cover you with his feathers. You will be safe under his wings. His promises will guard you.
00:12:21
Speaker
You will not be afraid of the night. You will not be afraid of danger in the day. You will not be afraid of sickness. A thousand people may fall down at your side.
00:12:32
Speaker
Ten thousand may fall at your right hand. But nothing bad will come near you. You will only see it with your eyes. You will see what happens to sinful people.
00:12:44
Speaker
You can let God be like a safe house. Live under his tent and you won't be hurt. Trouble will not come close to you. God will tell his angels about you.
00:12:57
Speaker
They will lift you up in their hands and you will not hit your foot on a stone. God says, I will save people. God says, I will save people who love me.
00:13:09
Speaker
I will keep them safe because they trust in me. They will call me and I will answer. I will be with them in trouble. I will save them.
00:13:21
Speaker
They will be important to me. I will please them by giving them a long life. I will show them how I save them.

Psalm 95: Praise and Worship

00:13:32
Speaker
And that is the end of Psalm 91 called Under His Wings. We talked a little bit yesterday about the imagery of a mama bird or a daddy bird keeping their feathers, their their wings out, and the baby chicks being under them to stay safe and warm and going there when they are scared.
00:13:54
Speaker
And God, as we said, doesn't have feathers and wings, but it's imagery. And these are songs. And we know that songs sometimes just have imagery too to describe how it feels.
00:14:05
Speaker
God is like a fort. God is like a bird parent who is covering us with his wings.
00:14:16
Speaker
I love how it says, God says, i will save people who love me. I will keep them safe because they trust in me. They will call me and I will answer.
00:14:26
Speaker
I will be with them in trouble. I will save them. They will be important to me. I will please them by giving them a long life. I will show them how I save them.
00:14:39
Speaker
We have read only up until the book of 2 Samuel and some 1 Chronicles. But already we have seen so many examples and personal applications as to how God saves.
00:14:51
Speaker
So this is more of a um before you are in trouble type of song. That when you get there, don't be worried because God will save you.
00:15:04
Speaker
And remember, God works good into everything. So sometimes there are things we need to learn. And sometimes the things we are going through are just to get us to where we need to be. But God is always there with us.
00:15:18
Speaker
Psalm 95 verses 1 through The deep earth hand.
00:15:22
Speaker
the deep earth in his hand Come, let's sing with joy to God. Let's shout out loud to the one who saves us.
00:15:33
Speaker
Let's come to him giving thanks. Let's worship him with music and song. The Lord is our great God. He is the great king above all gods.
00:15:46
Speaker
The deep earth is in his hands. The mountain peaks belong to him. The sea is his. He made His hands made the dry land.
00:15:59
Speaker
Come, let's bow down in worship. Let's bow down before our God, our maker. He is our God. We are the people of his field.
00:16:11
Speaker
We are the sheep he takes care of.
00:16:16
Speaker
That one is so happy. I love that. calling us, come, come, let's do this. Come with me, everybody. Let's sing to our God.
00:16:28
Speaker
God loves us to make a joyful sound. And a lot of times a song can really lift our spirits. These are all songs here. We call them Psalms, P-S-A-L-M-S.
00:16:40
Speaker
But these are types of songs and they would have been sung. Especially if David wrote them. He always had that harp when he was writing.
00:16:49
Speaker
The deep earth is in his hands. That means that neither height nor depth nor anything can separate you from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus, our Lord.
00:17:01
Speaker
Nothing can separate us from God. His hand is in the very depths of the earth to the top of the mountain peaks, even up in space where we now go as people.
00:17:13
Speaker
He is always with us. We have been given the Holy Spirit. And he is Emmanuel, God with us. We are never alone. So let's come and worship him and be rejoicing and be so happy.
00:17:26
Speaker
We are the people of his field. And we are the sheep he takes care of. He is our good shepherd. He takes care of everything we need.
00:17:37
Speaker
That's what this is saying. And in our own lives, how many times can you remember that God has been there for you? So many, many times. a God is there for me every day.
00:17:49
Speaker
when When you're upset about something, when you're joyful about something, God is right there. He doesn't leave us. And his presence is just amazing. So whatever trouble we are in don't let it be the best of you.
00:18:03
Speaker
Remember our God. Think of these psalms. Pick one up and reread it, relisten to it. But don't let our enemy try to tag drag you down because that's his, one of his tactics.
00:18:17
Speaker
He wants you to be scared and worried, but God says that the truth will set us fear free. You don't need to be afraid, whatever it is that's stressing you out that you, how are you going to pay for this bill?
00:18:29
Speaker
How are you going to have enough? God makes sure we have enough. He is enough. Give it to him. And God always

Conclusion and Invitation to Engage

00:18:38
Speaker
comes through. He takes care of us. Seek first his kingdom and everything else will be given to us.
00:18:46
Speaker
Jesus said, do you see these flowers? I tell you the truth, even Solomon in all his finery was not dressed as nicely as these. God knows the things that we need before we even ask him.
00:19:00
Speaker
Jesus said, don't run around like the people who don't believe in God. You have God. God knows that we need these things. He's the one who created us to need them. And he will give us all that we need.
00:19:13
Speaker
He doesn't just acquire us as a possession and then stick us in the closet and not take care of us.
00:19:21
Speaker
He takes care of us. We are his sheep. We are his people. And he is our good shepherd. He looks after us. He takes care of us. He keeps us safe from the enemy.
00:19:34
Speaker
and he makes sure that he is always with us.
00:19:38
Speaker
So I hope that you feel that God has lit your light today with our Psalms today. That's the end of our Psalm reading for today. And if you feel that God has lit your light, please click that light button.
00:19:48
Speaker
It looks like a thumbs up or a heart, but it's really a light button. And together we are with Jesus. He is living through us and shining his light so that we are the light of the world, so that we can spread the word about reading God's word and help other people to also be encouraged by the beautiful Psalms that we are reading about today and for the next couple of weeks.
00:20:12
Speaker
If you know somebody who could benefit from this Bible reading each day, please share this event with them.
00:20:20
Speaker
And we will help this event grow and spread the word about reading God's word. I hope everybody has a fantastic rest of their day. And I will say be here for everybody again tomorrow.
