Game Reflection and Analysis

00:00:46
Speaker
All right. I'd make the just as we predicted joke, but I feel like we weren't too far off on this one. JP. We weren't. We weren't. I know that you, you were, you were pretty spot on. I gave Clemson too much credit. We, we gave, we both did. I gave cra Clemson way too much per credit.
00:01:03
Speaker
Yeah. Uh, we'll just say, we'll just say we underestimated Georgia. I made, I made the joke. I made the joke that, uh, I made the joke that if, if I were there with you, like, like we were at the Ole Miss game or whatever, e you would have come down the stairs. Yeah.
00:01:22
Speaker
ah yeah Sorry, Connor. Sorry, Connor. Yeah, that was, was that Ole Miss last year? Man. Yeah, that was for Ole Miss. But yeah, I mean, that's basically what happened is like we just completely dominated them. Yeah, I mean, it was wild. I was there with Lily. She thoroughly enjoyed it as well. It was a good crowd, good turnout.
00:01:52
Speaker
Although as I pointed out to you via a text picture, because you were asking about the stands, like, I think it was early second and half. Like it was, there were definitely some empty seats on the, what I would call the c Clemson side. Um, so I don't know what exactly was going on with that. I'll say they were, they were loud considering that they were loud and especially they were, I didn't realize how many Georgia fans were there until, uh, fourth quarter and everyone turned their phone lights on.
00:02:19
Speaker
Uh, there were a lot of camera lights within that c Clemson section. So there's a lot, yeah I don't, I don't know what like the percentage was, but it was pretty, it was pretty low side, but I'll give some credit to the Clemson fans that were there. They were loud. A lot of, uh, a lot of red seats that maybe hit, hit the the red. Yeah, exactly. Yes. Yes. yeah I guess that happens in Mercedes-Benz.
00:02:42
Speaker
I saw the picture that you sent and I was really like I was blown away by how empty that was over there like you know I saw Graham tweet out that the I guess the game had mentioned that it was ah a sellout as of like a ah week or so ago I remember reading that like man was were there tickets available because I only saw tickets on on the secondary market so like if there were that many empty seats that means that people either just didn't go or were given away tickets, I guess. Yeah, that's a good point. That's a good point. Yeah, I'm not sure. I, I was surprised. I was surprised. Um, I mean, there are a lot of people out and about, well, there's a lot of people out and about too. Cause like dragon con was this weekend. so Like I will say like writing Marta, Lily was like, Oh my gosh, everyone's costumes are so amazing. like Yeah, dude. Like we, like we said, like Spider-Man, like all kinds of like Star Wars people. It was pretty funny.
00:03:38
Speaker
So I saw, I saw somebody post a picture of some, I guess like, it was like Monty Python, Monty Python and the and the but search for the holy grail or whatever it was. Yeah. um The, they had, they had the, the castle wall and then like the little soldiers, like they were mocking the mocking. Yeah. Yeah.
00:04:05
Speaker
I thought that was fantastic. They were dressed up like the soldiers with the, the mustaches. Yeah, it was good. I haven't seen a, I haven't seen a costume that made me laugh out loud like that. But yeah, that's always good. I used to work down there at a pastry center and that was like one of the best, like Friday, the Friday before drag and con, you can just go down into the lunch to get your lunch or whatever. And there's just people, furries walking around, you know, all kinds of different things. Right. Right. It's a, it's a, it's a good, it's a good experience looking at, uh, you know, all the dragon folks mixed in with all of the college football. Oh, I know. It's like world's world's colliding. And I forgot like, you know, something we missed in the preview, John, was that that was happening. I shouldn't, and I knew it and I should have known it. Uh, cause I remember the same thing happened to Oregon two years ago. I guess it's just always Labor Day weekend.

Personal Game Experiences and FOMO

00:05:00
Speaker
Always Labor Day weekend.
00:05:01
Speaker
But I know, so, but I know you were able to make it out to the, uh, to the west side motor lounge on Friday for the, for the concert. How'd that go? I did. It was great. And we got to hang out there. I thought was there Bobby and they came out. Um, you know, we had a, we had a good time out there. It was, uh, it was, it was fun.
00:05:20
Speaker
Um, cool. I started, and I got to go and hang out and shout out to ice dog. I had a blast. Appreciate it. Um, you know, definitely want to run it back next time. Nice. Sweet. Yeah. I was, uh, I had the FOMO, uh, from, from the texts while I was like, you know, stuck in Gaffney. No.
00:05:42
Speaker
ah While you're driving through Gaffney. I'll actually say I didn't get stuck in Gaffney. Actually, the worst traffic I had was in Charlotte and then in Georgia. ah Gaffney was fine. um But we did. I did get a bunch of updates because we stopped in Gaffney for some Popeyes. Lily was like, I want Popeyes. I want the Popeyes chicken sandwich, which by the way is… Excellent. I don't think I'd had it before. um Really? What? Also, and and I'm surprised that you'd like it. Well, cause then when they released it, it was like, Oh, like you couldn't get it. Like the lines were crazy or whatever. and Maybe I've had it, but I don't remember if I've had it. I don't remember being as good as it was. And it had like really thick pickles. So I know you say no pickles. ah The pickles were, dude, the pickles were so good. So anyways, sorry. I'll give you, I'll give you my pickles if Carter's not on.
00:06:28
Speaker
Yeah. Yeah. But so we, when we stopped there, I think I had like a million text messages and Twitter mentions that I was trying to read through quickly, but, uh, yeah, made it down late Friday night, uh, crashed with my sister and family. Um, they had some friends in town that I hadn't seen for a long time. Uh, so that was, it was a good, good weekend visiting with them too. So we had a good time. They were, uh, they were great, great hosts and Lily got into a good cousin time with her cousins. So it was a lot of fun.
00:06:53
Speaker
Good times. It's always, always fun for the the wood clan to to come down to and get together. Yeah, I think it was actually when I checked my notifications in Gaffney when I realized that friend of the show, Tim Riley was going to be at ah the Blue Lot tailgate. and So I texted him. I was like, I was like, wait, you're, you're coming to that. ah So.
00:07:12
Speaker
Went down there on the morning, met it with them. ah john John Smith. I can't say John Tweetsports anymore. John Smith. The handle formerly known as John Tweetsports. That's right. That's right. So i he he carried the torch from Greg very valiantly in helping ah get the tailgate set up. so So John and Rodeo, Bobby, you know the whole crew um was there.
00:07:38
Speaker
Uh, it was a good time. I, we got Lily and I got, we got out of the house a little later than plan. Um, I not complaining cause it was so hot. Uh, it was brutal outside. So, you know, about an hour of tailgating was enough for me, honestly, in in the heat.
00:07:53
Speaker
Yeah. So so i I remember, I remember on Saturday, uh, when I was doing my run, uh, I was like, Oh my gosh, I can't imagine tailgating in this. This is insane. I definitely felt, I definitely felt, uh, I, I had had some people like saying a bunch of stuff like Friday, like, Oh, like the lines moving and people are underestimating Clemson. And when you got in your, when I, when the text came through that you finished your run, it made me feel better, John. So thank you.
00:08:20
Speaker
I did get some I did get some questions about it. um Yeah, dude, I was when I was on my run. I was listening to I can't remember who I was listening to Graham and George that they were doing their podcast and they're talking about the line.
00:08:38
Speaker
And I remember, and i I was like, I wonder what the line is now, because we were talking about it. I was talking about it with icedog, John. We were werere talking about it, that the line had moved down. And I saw, at least the link that I saw, it had moved to like 10 points or something like that on one of the lines that I saw. And I was like, oh my god.
00:08:58
Speaker
like If I was a gambling person, i I would probably go and throw a bunch of money at this. Right. Like, I think I even tweeted it out. Like, you know, looking at that line, like as a reminder, our picks are not gambling advice. Uh, this is where she was. Yeah, seriously. I'm not a, I'm not a gambler at all. Uh, Carter was advising us on whether or not he should be ah betting on his fantasy football. And I was like, probably not, but you know, whatever.
00:09:28
Speaker
I got an insane team though. Oh, he says he's got an insane team. Oh, I heard him. I heard him. Shout out Carter. What's up. Spoken, spoken like a true degenerate.
00:09:40
Speaker
just
00:09:43
Speaker
Oh, that's a long answer. He's got Brock. He says he's got Brock and Lad on his fantasy football team. Oh, see. That's, I mean. They didn't really, they're just. Sleeper picks. Okay. Okay. Yeah. Nothing wrong with taking a flyer on some trigger players.
00:09:58
Speaker
Good call, Carter. he's he's feeling He's feeling good about his fantasy football team. Nice. Nice. um Yeah. I mean, I have no idea what he said.
00:10:11
Speaker
Um, that that was Carter's fantasy football minute, possibly a new segment. Um, yeah. So I don't know, man, like get into the stadium. We're ready to go. Uh, game starts. And then from there, I mean, I guess early vibes were a little iffy, I guess. Right. Although I i definitely like when.
00:10:31
Speaker
When they won the toss and elected to receive, I was like, old strategy. Like

Game Strategy and Key Players

00:10:36
Speaker
I thought that was interesting. I was like, you know, okay, great. Cause we would have deferred. So definitely cool with that, obviously. but like Yeah. That's what Carter said. Carter goes, why did they pick to receive? I was like, well, they probably lost the kickoff. He goes, no, they picked it. And I was like, what?
00:10:51
Speaker
Yeah, yeah, that was, that was interesting. Um, it's a bold strategy cotton. strategy Indeed. Uh, I mean, you know, I mean, I guess in general, the defense looks great all game. I know we had like some early, um, kind of like defensive line questions, maybe, um, you know, but I mean, shoot we um we gave up three points and.
00:11:17
Speaker
We had questions on the on the running back side. We had questions on, you know, there were questions on who was going to step up, right? Like, who's going to be the guy? I mean, I saw Warren Brinson, you know, played played really well. I thought we i thought we handled him up front at times.
00:11:36
Speaker
um I think I had a message to the group. like At one point, we were getting in mauled on one side. you know At various points, where I felt like we were getting beat up. At the beginning of the game, I thought our offensive line was playing like absolute hot garbage. had We could get nothing going. like Yes, I feel like our running back situation. ah think one of the I remember when I was watching the game, I remember one of the questions was,
00:12:03
Speaker
you know, what game is Nate Frazier going to become, you know, running back, running back one. and And I remember we were all kind of thinking like, well, we'll see, you know, see how it goes. I mean, it took, it took maybe a couple of series, I feel like. yeah um I mean, I don't know how it was going to go moving forward, but he kind of felt like not having him out there made us a worse offense. So.
00:12:28
Speaker
Yeah, I don't know. Yeah, I mean, once he came in, it was like, there was definitely a difference ah in the way the offense was was operating, just because there was the threat to run.
00:12:42
Speaker
um and yeah You know, I mean, and I, like, I, I definitely feel like, you know, pump the brakes on anything. Like we haven't seen the offense yet. Really? I think, I feel like like without ETN, like, let's see how everything looks when when he's back. I feel like just because his not only running, but also catching the ball in the backfield, although man, Frazier did that pretty well too. Nice catch out of the backfield, like turned the wrong way or, or like got spun around while catching it and still got a huge gain. Um, so yeah, dude, I mean, he looked good. He looked good. He looked really good. Um,
00:13:14
Speaker
Yeah, you know, they i always measure I always measure the UGA running backs, like, you know, are they like Nick Chubb or, you know, Todd Gurley, where they fall forward, like even even in the even in the two yards in the cloud of dust, they still fall forward and figure out a way to get three yards or they're stopped behind the line and still figure out a way to get three yards.
00:13:37
Speaker
Like Robinson, you know, bran Branson didn't, he didn't really, I mean, he got stood up every single play. like Like as soon as you've got laid hands on him, he was going to the ground. And yeah if he's not getting yak, then I have a feeling that they're not going to be a running back, you know, that's going to get a ton of carries anymore because like, you just need those guys that just figure out on a way to, to get yards. I mean, yeah.
00:14:01
Speaker
Branson started off the, started off the game where he was like dancing around, like just hit the hole and run. Like, you know what I mean? Like, yeah and there were times when he made the wrong decision. I don't know. I don't know what to say. I don't know what to say. You know, we'll get back, you know, Beck developed into a fantastic quarterback. Maybe he's just not ready for prime time and Nate's ready, you know, a lot faster than anybody really realized. So, yeah, I mean, well, I mean, he's coming off at, you know,
00:14:25
Speaker
He's coming up a pretty major injury, kind of gets thrust into this starting role, basically due to another injury and suspension. Um, so I, yeah, I mean, I feel like he was kind of putting it ah in a test spot. Um, would have loved to see him go out there and, you know, dominate didn't plan out that way. Um, at a bit of a rough start, but Nate came in sparked and I don't know, maybe Brancy just needs to knock some rest off. We'll see.
00:14:49
Speaker
Yeah, I mean, the same thing kind of happened with Kendall at times too, right? like Yeah. Towards the end of the season, we're like, man, this is the Kendall melt. We wanted and then expected. Right. Just takes time. Yeah. Yeah. Could be. Um, but yeah, man. So I don't know, like you said, took the offense a little while to get going, but I mean, I feel like in general, the defense was going right from the start and like, man, how about like, the I mean, first series of the game, the decisive play to forced into punt was a tackle made by KG Bolden. So like, welcome to College of Law, KG Bolden. Future's very bright for that young man.
00:15:25
Speaker
Yeah, I mean, think about how unfair it is, how unfair it is. You know, we've got, but he he was, the only reason he was playing was because Aguero was her, right? Yes. That's what, I mean, that's why he was, yeah. Yeah. So basically that's what I understand is with Aguero out, they had to go with Stark's, well, obviously Stark's going to be there, but Stark's Jackson in Bolden. Yeah.
00:15:48
Speaker
Well, I think that, yeah, because Aguero was going to play the star, I think. So they kept Starks and Star and that meant that KJ got to go in. Yeah, exactly. Yeah, but like, just how unfair is that? So a true freshman out there that played absolutely lights out. I mean, the secondary was probably one of the better parts of the defense, right? Like, I mean, we had even even their even their good, you know, past plays or whatever. I mean, you still had guys that were completely covered up. Like, they just happened to make a really great catch, you know, or a really good throw was made, and you just kind of tip your cap and, you know, take the loss. But, like, on the whole, they they covered they covered very well.
00:16:35
Speaker
Yeah, completely. Seems like it's going to be seems like it's gonna be a really strong you know a really strong aspect of of the defense. oh I'll reserve judgment for when when we get to tougher quarterbacks, but we look really good. Yeah, no. a I agree. And that was one of my questions kind of preseason, like yeah much younger secondary. I mean, we lost a lot. And then on top of that, Aguero couldn't go.
00:16:58
Speaker
Um, so you would think maybe a little shaky, but definitely not. Um, I think the other question we had had kind of coming in was like, who's going to be the guy to rush the passer, right? And it caused that disruption. And, uh, J I know Jalen Walker and Michael Williams were the guys we were talking about a heads on, uh, man, Jim Jalen Walker looked really good out there, uh, rushing the passer and we got a great Kirby moment.
00:17:23
Speaker
Where did you see this? Where like Walker fights off a block, fights off a hold and then makes a stop. And then there's this, like, there was a camera shot of like Jalen Walker's like celebrating and Kirby is just calling, him like saying that he was getting held as like giving the whole sign. to the Yeah. You had Shimon coming into the frame. He was like, yeah, yeah. yeah And Kurt was like, where's the home?
00:17:47
Speaker
ah Yeah. The man has a different mindset. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. It's like when he was trying to get Keely to go down. but Yeah, seriously.
00:18:01
Speaker
Uh, man, but yeah, so he looked really good. Um, I don't know the whole, the whole defense look good. So that was, that was definitely, uh, I don't know. I will say back to kind of like our season preview. I was like, you know, are we ever thinking this was like the whole dominant offense thing? Like at security, smart team, we're going to have a good defense. Uh, and so we do, but the offense picked it up and second half. So.
00:18:25
Speaker
Uh, really, really came alive and it wasn't like, I don't know. I do think like we said Clemson had a good defense and I think they do. I mean, I think they were able to do some things, um, in the first half to slow us down. Um, but like you pointed out, we really got the running game going on, going with, with Frazier, which I feel like he, we kind of like made a more noticeable switch at halftime to Frazier. Um.
00:18:51
Speaker
And then, uh, definitely, I will say this too, like definitely, if you're not go follow coach Hayes, uh, coach Hayes huddle, he had a great video kind of showing how. Bobo would show something and then come back to the same, basically the same play, like out of a different formation, um, to kind of set the defense up and, and how, uh, he was able to set up like one play that they love it early on, then run the same play to Arian Smith later, uh, for a huge game.
00:19:14
Speaker
Um, it's pretty cool. So, uh, I think kudos below there, much to the chagrin of, I know there were definitely some bubble haters out at halftime. No. they're they're yeah I know. I know it's shocking. I know. I know nothing about Bobo Haters. But if you're if you are a Bobo Hater, this was not the game for you. That was for sure. um Yeah. I think that, wasn't it Coach Hayes that was talking? No. Maybe it was ah he was one of the other guys, the film good guy. um
00:19:46
Speaker
What's his face? I can't remember. um Brooks. Yeah, Brooks. He had posted something along the lines of, like, that basically early on, Bubba went away from, like, man man coverage scheme and and went to, like, zone beater scheme. So, like, they were dropping at his own, so he had to change his... He changed his play calling up pretty quickly into the game, from what I understand, from from folks in the arena.
00:20:15
Speaker
Yeah, my like following the ball type of watching football was like, I definitely, the only thing I noticed in the first half was everything was very lateral and short early on as far as what the offense

Second Half and Special Teams Highlights

00:20:26
Speaker
was doing. And maybe comes in, we just did a good job of taking away the deeper stuff. I don't know. Or maybe we were doing stuff to set them up.
00:20:33
Speaker
Later, but when Beck started throwing the ball down the field like in like over the middle of the field is when things really opened up. Yeah, so yeah, first first touchdown first touchdown catch for Mr Humphries. Yeah, yeah, Mr. Mr. London. London calling will be the. ah I'm sure that I'm sure that we'll hear a Scott Howard London calling joke in there somewhere at some point through the season.
00:21:00
Speaker
Yeah, that sounds right. We got to break out the human victory cigar pretty, pretty early. man You look good. yeah Cash Money Jones coming in for the 99 and the 2000. Bling, bling. The video may or may not have been tweeted during the game.
00:21:18
Speaker
Yes, we were on the same wavelength there. That was for sure. Yeah. Um, yeah. Colby young Colby young too. I mean, how about the the transfer impact, uh, for the Georgia offense there with, with both Colby young caught the first touchdown of the game and then London Humphrey scores a touchdown as well. Um, yeah Seth Emerson, Seth Emerson was quick to point out in the stats that, uh, UGA's transfers scored 12 points and Clemson's transfer was scored zero.
00:21:47
Speaker
Yeah, yeah, correct. and Okay, man, it was it was a good game. It was a good game all around. um Definitely was unnecessarily worried ah unnecessarily worried about the about the game in the end.
00:22:04
Speaker
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, I had people I had. We ran into one of Kim's co workers, our friend Kelly. ah Sorry, we're actually sitting right by her. ah I ran into her at organ game. She had texted me though. She was another person that was on Friday was like, what's going on? Why is the line moving like everything?
00:22:19
Speaker
So, uh, yeah, man, all that dissipated throughout the game. Um, also I would say too, I guess the the ah only thing I want to point out is the kicking game, the special teams. Like I love like everything that I saw. So Brett Thorsen again, like absolute weapon.
00:22:37
Speaker
No, still no one's returned a punt against him. Um, we were kicking the ball off out of the end zone. They weren't returning kicks. We were fair catching or just letting the kickoffs go, which I love, like you get the ball 25. I don't care. Um, and then we had a payday with his field goals that 55 yarder one was, that was pretty impressive.
00:22:58
Speaker
Yeah, they they were talking about how his long, his long was like 45 or something like that. So he he hasn't, he just clocked ah another career, career notch on his belt there. He squeaked it in. At first I was like, Oh, I don't even know.
00:23:15
Speaker
Yeah. That's the kind of thing that I had no idea in the stadium. Uh, totally didn't realize that until like, you know, this morning or yesterday, uh, how, how close it was. Yeah. I actually thought that it had like dink the inside of the post, but it just barely squeaked through. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. And I, I haven't fully like rewatched the game, but I've just watched highlights and stuff. So.
00:23:37
Speaker
Right. Yeah. In the stadium, it was kind of hard to hear the ref too. I don't know if that came through on TV, but there was definitely times where like the ref was announcing something and everyone in our section was like, what? Like, what do you say? Like there was the targeting at one point where they were reviewing for targeting and it wasn't targeting, but we never even heard of announce it, but whatever.

Player Absences and Surprises

00:23:56
Speaker
I will say that one of the things that I will wait and see what happens as the season rolls through, and it's obviously hard, you know, with the way that results, you know, panned out or whatever, but one of the guys that we talked about pre-season, or that I talked about pre-season as being like an impact player, Anthony Evans, yeah no targets, no targets at the wide receiver position, just nothing but fair catches. Like, is he, like, is he getting Logan Gray? Like, what's going on?
00:24:25
Speaker
Well, he did return, he did return supplies, but he all he did was return funds. Yeah. Logan Gray returned a couple of pods. Well, for sure. Sure. But yeah, I didn't see him. Like, I don't remember him being out there on offense, but he definitely didn't have any targets. But again, I was sitting at the upper deck and I haven't rewatched it. So yeah. I don't recall him being out there. That definitely was, was surprising to me too. Um, but I mean, I don't know how to argue with results. Correct. Correct. Yeah. So.
00:24:57
Speaker
Anthony, or sorry, you know, when Dylan Bell went down and they brought in London, I mean, that's again, just another example of like, it's just not fair, like Kirby throws this guy out here when I don't know if he was supposed to be out there for that series or what, but like, you know, Dylan Bell and had noticeably gone down. So he was a new addition to the writers we record at that point.
00:25:19
Speaker
Yeah. Yeah. I mean, all those guys are good. Like Dylan Bell looked really good. Like, I think I texted you just like Dylan Bell, all caps and exclamation points or something at what point, um, you know, the thing that I'll be watching.

Player Impact and Predictions

00:25:30
Speaker
Another thing that I'll be watching was, um, at the tight end position, like, you know, Del, Del, Del wasn't like a huge impact, but like lucky, lucky was. I think we had, I think we had a, he had a couple of long.
00:25:44
Speaker
long catch long catches. so um But you know for folks that are saying, like how do how do you answer the losing, you know, Lab McConkie and Brock Bowers, like we we figured out how to get the ball in our playmakers hand. Yeah, yeah, for sure.
00:26:00
Speaker
Um, yeah, I don't know. I mean, not a whole lot, other than to say that, you know, I mean, Dabo told his bedtime story and. Dabo. Yeah. since we would We had a little bedtime story at the end. Um, yeah.

the uh i mean his heel and speaking of dabo like you know at the end in his press conference he was like george's gonna make a lot of teams look terrible a yeah and and and i and i messaged you guys i was like you know is it crazy to think that uh is it crazy to think that this is gonna be like the team that we just shellacked Much like we did with Oregon, ah the year we shellacked them, um this is going to be a top defense in the country. And by the way, I personally think that they're going to be in the driver's seat to so be for yeah be playing for the ACC at minimum, um you know possibly an ACC champion. so um they still Yeah, they still could be. Just ah just just think about that.
00:27:07
Speaker
Yeah, that that, that would be, that would be wild. And yeah, it would be, you're right, man. Very much like Oregon two years ago, which, egg I mean, also we've got this board and haven't mentioned it. Also speaking of Oregon two years ago, Malachi Starks with like the same interception, but on the opposite side of the field. Holy cow.
00:27:25
Speaker
Yeah the thing about that catch that is just so impressive to me is you saw the catch that he made against Oregon when he was a true freshman and you know he comes back and catches it but like the kid went further back And then also had the wherewithal and body control to like turn himself in midair so that he could have a softer landing or whatever. Whereas that one, like he very clearly has gotten more athletic. And I think that it was kind of more of a yeah ah situation where yeah he showcased a little bit more athleticism this year and that he's just getting better.
00:28:02
Speaker
Yeah, I, I, I don't think, I don't think you could have told me before the game that he would make it more. Acrobatic athletic interception than the organ game, but I totally agree with you. Like when you watch them side by side, I think it's even more impressive, which is crazy to them. Yeah. Yeah. The, the, the school has put out some really good content, by the way. Uh, and they had a really good like split screen, uh, video they posted today of the two side by side. It's pretty cool. Yeah. I think I saw that one.

Weekend Game Surprises and Analysis

00:28:33
Speaker
Um, but, but as they, as they say, I'm, I'm coming to America. That's all good.
00:28:42
Speaker
Amazing. Uh, let's see, let's hit coaches over owners before I forget. Uh, we both had a really good week. Uh, you were perfect perfection eight, no on coaches over unders. I went seven and one. I was trying to figure out what it was that we disagreed on. I didn't realize we agreed on so much. I clearly wasn't paying enough attention.
00:29:02
Speaker
Um, but it was the sex, uh, from what I recall, I believe I went, I took over on Georgia sex and you went under and you were correct. So we did have some sex, but we didn't hit the, um, so yeah. So thanks coach for tracking those. I think we'll get the, um, wrong. Yeah.
00:29:19
Speaker
All good. All good. Uh, I think we'll get to the pick stuff. Um, we still got one game going on tonight, uh, from the pick. So we'll get back to those, but, um, are they doing, are they still losing? Uh, yeah. Boston college is still winning. Uh, but they were coming back a little bit.
00:29:37
Speaker
Um, 28 13, but with ma'am, definitely. Let's see. We both took Notre Dame. So that was right. Uh, I think we both took LSU though. Uh, that was a bit stunning last night with the USC comeback. It was a little, a little stunning, but nothing is, was this ending to me as they should have won. They should like, he's with Brian Kelly. Brian Kelly is right. they They should have, they should have won that game.
00:30:03
Speaker
Yeah, I think they should too. Frankly, I thought A and&M should have had a better shot, but whatever. That was a, that was a good game. That was a good game. The thing that was so wild to me and that, cause I had no idea cause it was the same time as our game and being at the game that Vanderbilt beat Virginia Tech and overtime. Like I found out like hours later, I was like, wait, what?
00:30:23
Speaker
Yeah, yeah and i was a I can't remember what game we were watching but I was at a friend's house and we we had a little little get together um after the Georgia game was over um to watch the rest of the Florida game we were watching mostly so like I kind of flew under the radar that Virginia Tech kind of came back a little bit. I think it was a 10-point game when I saw it was like, oh, wow, Vandy's winning. I'll have to check back in. And then we just kept watching the debacle that was the Miami, Florida game. It was just like, oh, wait, this is... This is brutal, brutal, brutal, brutal. That game was, yeah, it was a, it was a tough watch. We, we, that was on my sisters when I got back. And, uh, yeah, that game was wild. Um, I will say though, to to pronounce correctly there, there was currently, uh, just one in Florida. So they are right now, Florida. I'm going to reset it. Um, since we're at the beginning of the season. So there is one L in Florida. Um, I don't know, man, he took another L at that press conference messing around with that water bottle.
00:31:26
Speaker
Yeah. would you You saw that, right? yeah No, I actually haven't seen that. I posted a video today, actually right before we we started recording. okay and i had been I had been wondering when I was going to post a new clown, Clown King. And it was and it was it was that video. So you have to go and check out my check out my feed for the for the updated view.
00:31:54
Speaker
Gotcha. clown kink from the and great state of bla lord catcher Gotcha. Um, yeah. Okay. So that's, that's it for the, for coaches, coaches. Thank you, uh, as always for, for, for tracking all of that for us. Appreciate you. Yes. Um, especially since I'm winning.
00:32:12
Speaker
Okay. and I'll give you that. I'll give you that. Hey, you went perfect. You got, had a perfect weekend. I did go perfect. I did way better and coaches over unders than I have against Carter and NCAA football. ah Nice. I haven't played. I haven't been playing. That's good. I tap again. You don't end up

Traditions and Celebrations

00:32:29
Speaker
playing much.
00:32:29
Speaker
i jumped I jumped into a game with him today and I was like very curious to see because after watching the Miami game, ca Cam Ward looks like he's he's ah he's a legit player, right? So I was like, let's let's play some college football. I want to see if this kid's any good on the game. And the game does not do that boy any justice whatsoever. I got absolutely trounced.
00:32:52
Speaker
Um, by Clemson, which is why I say like, Hey, I think that I think that Clemson still have something to say to Miami about what that. I feel like they do need to update the game for Georgia or or maybe I just need to manually change the rotation. Like, I feel like ah that game needs to put Arian Smith in more often. So maybe I might have to modify that. So, right.
00:33:14
Speaker
Yeah, man. Um, shoot hump Humphries was like the leading receiver in the game. Right. Uh, so but wasn't expecting that. Uh, but hey, like I said, can I use the results? I'll take it. I, I, I did like on his, his touchdown when he like put his shoulder down into that guy. So, yeah, he was ready. He's ready to roll. Speaking of after the touchdown, Nate Frazier with the.
00:33:39
Speaker
The bow, the bow and the jazz hands. ah That was beautiful. That was beautiful. kid The kid knows his Georgia history. um ah baron And he he tweeted, he I guess he said that like he had said beforehand that he was going to keep that traditional life. So that was pretty cool.
00:33:56
Speaker
So is that like a thing that you have, you have to be invited to? Is it like, uh, like a joke? I was like, welcome to the RBU fraternity. But like, there've been other, like, I haven't seen cash terms to it. Well, that's cause he's got his own celebration with the cash money.
00:34:13
Speaker
but But like, I haven't seen any of the other running backs to it. Like, yeah, sure. bran Branson scored a touchdown or seen Rod Robinson score touchdown, right? Yeah, I'm trying to think. Is it like an and is ah like an invite only country club? Like this Todd Gurley and Sonny Michelle have to give you a call and Nick Chubb like, Hey,
00:34:32
Speaker
Right. I don't know. We want you to be part of the inner circle. Right. I feel like Chubb didn't so much of that, but Swift did. Oh yeah, Swift did the bow. Swift definitely did the bow. I could have sworn that Chubb did the bow. I feel like Chubb just always did like the Lion King, like jump up in the guy.
00:34:53
Speaker
That's awesome. So yeah. But yeah, and I'm glad you brought that up. I'm glad you brought that up. Man, I tweeted that out from the account when that happened and that went crazy. People liked that but observation. So yes yeah, that was that was cool. That was cool to see. I mean, you know, you you you people say so much like these days, like these kids, like they don't know.
00:35:14
Speaker
You're like, no one cares that Herschel Walker played at Georgia and even, you know, more recent players like, Oh, they don't know who Todd Gurley is or whatever. So I think it's cool to see, you know, a freshman come in and, and pay homage to some former grace like that. I think it's pretty cool. Make a couple of statements.
00:35:29
Speaker
Yeah, yeah, for sure.

Game Traditions and Peculiar Moments

00:35:31
Speaker
All right. Anything else you got anything else on, uh, on ah um Clemson or do we rep a bow on this one? Uh, yeah, no, I got, I got nothing. I got nothing else on c Clemson. Um, I do have a question. Maybe we we, maybe we need to revisit it. Um, and it is NCAA related.
00:35:49
Speaker
wow So when we played, when we played NCAA, something that didn't come up in the fun facts was that, have you ever played Clemson at Death Valley in that game? No, no. So they do Howard's Rock and the rundown and all that stuff. But one of the other things that they did was they had like this hand truck with a cannon on it. Have you ever seen that before?
00:36:11
Speaker
No, no, i and I've never been to it. I've never been with Georgia plays there. I've never gone. I meant to look it up for before for the episode because I was like, did I miss like a ah fun fact? What did I miss? and What is this guy? He's he's like moving around like a like a you know, that you'd move a refrigerator with or something like that. And there's a cannon on the bottom of it. Like what what what what is happening? Gotcha. Yeah. When that when that came up in the game against close um the Carter and I were playing.
00:36:41
Speaker
We both looked at each other like, the heck was that?
00:36:46
Speaker
That's funny. There there was a cannon in Mercedes Benz shooting out like Aflac ducks. ah So I remember like when I was in school for Chick-fil-flable once they like dropped cows from the ceiling. ah this They were shoot they're basically shooting Aflac ducks out of like a t-shirt cannon. Lily was quite disappointed that she didn't get one, ah but that was the thing. So that's the only cannon reference second I can give you there.
00:37:13
Speaker
Right. Yeah. I got nothing. I don't know. I'm going to, I'm going to be like looking at it up. I'm going to look it up. Cause I'm Carter now. Save it. You have to save it. Let's whenever you figure out the answer, save it.

Future Game Anticipation and Season Excitement

00:37:27
Speaker
Hold on until the next time we preview Georgia ad Clemson, whenever that is.
00:37:33
Speaker
next time. That could be your friend back then. Cool. All right, man. Well, uh, great start to the season. Uh, I think exceeded even our expectations. Um, yeah, yeah man, assume nothing. I don't know. That was, it was, uh, another dog. That is a great, a great, um, a great phrase for, for these Bulldogs assume. that Yeah, for sure.
00:37:59
Speaker
Cool. But it was fun. I'm glad you guys had a good time. We had a good time as well on our end. Got some good banana pudding. Nice. Had some great burgers at my buddy's house. He cooked.
