Fresh Season: Interpreting Dreams about Fall-ing (and a bonus common dream)

Fall is here! And with it, a new season of the Breathing Underwater podcast, where we dive into the deep things of God and explore the mysteries of how He speaks to us through dreams.
As we transition into the fall season, we're also discussing a common dream: the falling dream. This type of dream often reflects areas in your life where you feel out of control or unable to change the outcome. The context of your dream matters—were you alone when you fell? Did you jump, or were you pushed? The details can reveal more about what God is highlighting in your life. Remember, dreams are not just about conveying information; they are an invitation to draw closer to God and seek His guidance.
With Labor Day approaching, we’re also talking about pregnancy dreams. These are more common than you might think and - believe it or not - are not just for women. These dreams often symbolize that you are spiritually pregnant with something new that God is bringing forth in your life. It could be a new job, season, relationship, or opportunity. Pay attention to the details in your dream: how far along are you? This could provide insight into what God is doing in your life. Be sure to ask God what He is birthing through you and be open to the journey of discovery!

Understanding God's Voice Through Dreams

am the host of Breathing Underwater. This podcast is all about those who are hungry for the deep things of God. Learning to live life with the Holy Spirit in the spirit as spiritual beings. And one of the main ways that we can live in the deep things of God is learning to know God's voice. And he speaks in all kinds of different ways. We hear him through scripture. We see him through signs in the natural. Some of us audibly hear him, but he also speaks through visions and dreams while we're sleeping.

And on this podcast, we are all about learning God's voice in all of those ways, but specifically focused on the dream life. Because our dreams are packed with revelation from God, treasure from God that we are just sitting on because we don't know how to unlock it yet. We don't know how to interpret His voice in the dream realm.

But this is not something new. This has been going on since the beginning, and we have scriptures all the way back in Genesis to prove it. We're not going to go into all of that now, but it is a great conviction of mine that it is not just a luxury or something fun that we're learning to learn God's voice in our nightdreams, but it is absolutely imperative that we know what he's saying to us in this time that we're living in.

for the purpose of intimacy, he and us, one on one, knowing him and him knowing us and him speaking into our daily lives.
Significance of Numbers in Dreams

First and foremost, it's always about intimacy. And he's giving us keys to pray, to bring his kingdom to earth. He might be releasing inventions to you. He might be speaking to you about a new direction in your life. He might be talking to you about a word of knowledge for your neighbor that's going to end up bringing them into relationship with him. He might be giving us strategies how to pray because of what's coming down the pipeline. He might be protecting us and giving us warning dreams. There are so many reasons why it's imperative that we learn this. So if you're excited to learn it, if you are childlike and ready to go on an adventure, you are in the right place.

And numbers, my friend, are a big, big part of how God talks about how he speaks. It's a part of his language. It's all over Scripture, not to mention he created all things. So he speaks through all things and numbers are a very, very important part.

If numbers are showing up in your dreams, absolutely pay attention. Write them down. If you're seeing multiples of numbers on the clock, maybe you're seeing them a couple times a day or you keep looking at the clock and it's one, one, one. That's not an accident. Start to pay attention to the patterns and seek God for what he's trying to show you.

Because numbers matter, I'm going to give you the interpretation for the number one. So if you are seeing ones in your dreams or in your waking life or in visions or ones keep showing up, God might be talking to you about unity.

one, the Trinity, three in one. One is the number of unity. It could also be speaking to something that takes precedence or needing to take precedence or is first place in your life. It could also point to maybe taking the first step in something, okay? But if you are seeing the number one and you're seeing it repeatedly, ask the Holy Spirit to show you what it means.

If you're seeing a triple of the number one, that could just be emphasis on unity or it has to do with 11, which is transition. So numbers are fun. Always ask the Holy Spirit what he's telling you, but I thought I'd give you that little tidbit on the number one because it's episode one of season three.

And in honor of fall and the new fall season, we're going to talk about it a common dream. Many people have them. You have probably had them. And this is a falling dream. I know it's so cheesy, but I really couldn't help myself.

And this one is quite common. I have people bring falling dreams to me all the time. What does it mean? No, it isn't that you ate something weird. No, it wasn't just an accident.
Dreams as Divine Communication

It's probably speaking to something going on in your life or going in at least on at least in your emotional life.

So like any dream, context, context, context is going to be very, very helpful to help discern what God has tried to show you through this dream. But a falling dream in general is probably going to be speaking to an area where you feel out of control in your life.

Maybe it's an area you're trying to control, but you can't really control the consequences, right? Even though we've been given free will, we can make decisions, but we can't control the outcome so often. We cannot. Actually, can we ever control the outcome?

I don't think so. So this might be speaking to an area where you are feeling out of control, like you don't have the ability to control or change what's happening. If you're wanting to recognize whatever of your life it's talking about, look at the context clues. Was there any anyone with you there? Were you falling by yourself? What happened right before you fell? Those kinds of things. Did you jump or were you pushed? That's gonna be a big difference too, right?

maybe the severity of the fall is going to speak to the severity of the issue in your life as well. You know, tripping and falling is one thing, but it's quite another to be pushed off of a cliff, right? And it'd be a slow fall where you have all this time to contemplate that that's a different kind of fall. So pay attention to all of those details and that's gonna point to what this area of your life is that you're feeling out of control.

Most of the time it's pretty obvious, right? You might just actually be having an overarching experience of anxiety and feeling out of control, but definitely pay attention to the context.

And as we know, dreams are always about intimacy. They are not the end all be all. This is not the final word of God and it's just about information. No, this is just the conversation starter. So don't forget, this is something that we are very, ah very convinced of and it's something that we protect on this podcast that Learning to interpret your dreams isn't about just getting information, okay? It is about intimacy. It is about hearing from your creator who wants to be in relationship with you. So the whole point is, hey, um I'm giving you this dream to draw you into a conversation with me.

Come and seek me out. Come and see what's going on in your heart. So often we can fill our days just with busyness and other concerns. We don't want to pay attention to maybe what we're feeling or what's going on at a deeper level. And our heart and God together will make sure that we see what's going on. And our dreams are a main canvas, I guess you could say, where those things play out.
Symbolism of Pregnancy Dreams

Gone are the days of oh I was just processing what happened in my day or oh I just ate something weird or oh it was just because I watched that movie. Do those things play a role? Yeah sure I think they can but at the end of the day God is sovereign over all of it and when we actually stop going to that dreams don't matter place and start to honor and value what's happening there we are gonna start to see all kinds of things unfold out of our dream life so If you're having the falling dream, go ahead and go to God and ask Him to show you which area of your life. Because it is the beginning of the season and it also just happens to fall on Labor Day, I really couldn't help but give you a bonus interpretation. I've already talked about this multiple times on the podcast in the past seasons because it comes up a lot. But another a common dream is a pregnancy dream.

Yes, men, you can also have dreams about being pregnant. I just talked to two individuals in the last week who are both male who had dreams about being pregnant. It is not just women. I know it seems weird, but dreams we know are mostly symbolic. So don't worry. Nothing weird is going on. God is just showing you.

that you are pregnant, you are bringing to birth, you are partnering with him to birth something new in your life. Something new is coming. It's coming through you. God has planted his seed in your life and something new is coming to bear. That could be a new idea, that could be a new job, that could be a new season, that could be a new relationship, that could be finally the end of a nine month period. This could be a new,

opportunity, so many different things, but something new is being birthed. That is why you're pregnant. I'd love to pay attention. Listen, I time have pregnancy dreams. One of my gifts is to be a womb for the Lord. And that's not weird. It really just means I catch his will and I help bring it to pass through intercession, through declarations, through actions in my life. I like to pay attention to how far along I am in a dream.

It's not always as easy and linear to be like, Oh, and then that was three months. And then the next dream I had, it was six months. And the next one there was the baby. And I know exactly what it means. It's not always that clear. Really wish that it was, but I like to pay attention just in case I do start to see a pattern. And I am always asking God, what am I pregnant with?
