But we ended up just chatting and he was releasing so much wisdom that I thought, oh man, we just need to sit on this. So today you are going to witness a dialogue between Luke and I where he's going to reveal some of his personal story and what he's learned around dream interpretation. You're not going to want to miss it.

One thing I like to do is to also give interpretations for numbers. And because this is episode nine, we're going to talk just briefly about nine before we jump into my interview with my friend.

Nine is most often interpreted in the positive as fruitfulness or fullness. Think of the nine gifts of the spirit, right? The nine fruits of the spirit as well. In the negative, it is often thought of as judgment. And if you're sensing that the negative might actually apply to your situation or where you're seeing the number nine or where nine keeps coming up,

then I would definitely ah prayerfully seek the Holy Spirit to ask him where he's bringing judgment and what that means. I think it's easy for us humans to be like, ooh, judgment, that seems super scary. And yeah, you know what? It could be because God is also judge, but we love that he is a just God and that he can bring judgment on the powers of hell and that he can actually judge rightfully to bring deliverance and alignment in our lives. So don't get too afraid when I say the word judgment, but have a holy fear of that as well. So if you are sensing that it might be a negative interpretation, go to God to ask exactly what he means.

Luke and I know each other from ministry school. We did a dream interpretation class together where we kind of helped teach and facilitate the class, but then we would have people come in over Zoom who wanted their dreams interpreted and we would interpret for them. So this dream realm is very familiar to him.

um And Luke is a very prophetic individual. He's Australian. You're going to hear this beautiful accent, even though he's lived in Germany and America and it feels called to to our nation here in the States. You'll hear a little bit of an accent, but I'm going to let him introduce himself a little bit more. He's just um such an authentic soul and one who's just really after the heart of God and very gifted when it comes to dream interpretation and all things prophetic and all things communication, I would say.

So I'm excited for you to actually meet him. Luke, would you like to tell us a little bit more about you, where you live, what you're about? And then I'll start asking about dreams.

Yeah, thanks, Margaret, for having me on. um Yeah, I'm from, so I'm from Australia. I was born, born here, spent the first 20 years of my life here going up. um But as you said, I've just found myself living in all parts of the world. um After I lived in Australia when I was about 20 years old, I went to Germany.

um And I ended up living in Germany for about seven years, doing all sorts of things, ended up working in the government space there that had always been kind of my, um my interest was always in the political space. And so I ended up getting a job um there in Germany. um And then eventually moved over to America, um where I found myself doing ministry school, um where that's where I met you. I spent three years in America doing that. And then,

have ended up ah now 10 years later after I left Australia I'm back in my home country again and I'm working in government here um and it's just been yeah it's just been a crazy time of learning how to trust the Lord with really everything you know when you move overseas and trying to hear God's voice and trying to um do his will and yeah just learn but really just like learning how to hear God's voice and then taking steps and seeing him come through. like It's just been an

incredible journey of that. and Part of that was really the way the Lord was speaking to me through dreams. It it has always kind of showed up in my life and it's something that I've chosen to invest a lot into, and into paying attention to them, paying attention to what the Lord might be saying to me.

in the area of dreams. And it's really actually, yeah, it's been a learning journey, but it's so one of the ways that I hear God's voice. And so that's why we did the dream interpretation um class together, you and I. And yeah, we've been helping other people interpret their own dreams as well, which has just been incredible. So so much fun. Will you tell me how how long have you been recognizing that God speaks to you in dreams and or interpreting them?

um I actually remember having a conversation with a relative of mine. um We were in the car and I was with my cousin and then with my cousin's mom. I just was explaining my dream that I had just had, I think it must have been seven years old, but I was just excited about a dream that I had had. I was explaining that and the mom had said to me, oh, do you remember your dreams? Because I never remember mine.

And I just remember thinking, well, how can that be? Because i almost every night I have a dream. And that was probably the first time I realized that not everyone remembers their dreams. And so at that point I thought, oh, maybe I've got something that's unique with that. um And it's not like I remember my dreams every night, but it is it has been a feature of just me sleeping just generally is that um I'll probably have maybe every three every three or four nights I'll have a dream that I just wake up remembering so it started with me paying attention in that way and when I was younger I would have a lot of nightmares I would have bad dreams all the time I was scared of the dark until ah until I was even about

17 or 18, I actually couldn't sleep without a little bit of light in the room, whether it was like um like a door that I left slightly open with the light in the other room or it just, my dreams were so bad um that it really scared me. And so I think that actually first got introduced to like um the area of dreams through probably negative negative stuff going on that was trying to, I think,

looking back, I'm like, oh, that was that was trying to shut down the way the Lord was trying to speak to me. It was trying to scare me away from it. um So that was my first experience into it. Yeah. Wow. When did that shift and why?

Um, I think ah it shifted about five years ago, actually. So it's fairly recent that it's completely gone away. Um, but, uh, yeah, in the last five years that they've been almost completely free of nightmares. Um, so it was a bit of a journey to, to come out of, um, being scared in my dreams. Um, and it would be dreams that are just very obviously, um, not, not encouraging, but just gave me fear. Um, you know, everyone's had nightmares and I would just get them incessantly. And I think, um,

It was when um I was starting to um ask the Holy Spirit to be a part of my life and um actually actively seeking um the Holy Spirit's guidance for just doing daily life. I started to notice um that um during my dreams when bad things were going on, I had a little bit more control over how that dream would play out and started to speak against in my dream I started you know being aware in my dream of things about having started to speak against that and pray to the Lord for help and bit by bit they start it started to to go away and started to and to the point now where like I literally

hardly ever have any bad dreams, only dreams where I feel like either God's talking to me or just a dream processing my week or my day. um But I'm definitely free from all that stuff. And I think it was, I think a lot of people experience that. I think a lot of people do struggle with nightmares, do struggle with night terrors. um And I would say for ah for a lot of us, it really is just the the enemy trying to shut down the way that the Lord wants to work yeah in our lives.

he sees a gifting that we might have, and he tries to hijack that thing. I know that was my story, and I know that's the story for a lot of people. And so looking back, I take that as encouragement. I was like, oh, like the Lord had really marked me out to speak to me in such a way, and the enemy had tried to shut that thing down, but it didn't work. So yeah, that's a bit of- What's that? It didn't work so neener, neener, neener. Exactly.

Too bad, so sad. Too bad, so sad. Thanks for sharing that though, because I do actually have a lot of people reaching out to me who've had that in their past or who are struggling with it now. And I love the piece you shared about starting to exercise your authority and your voice in the dream. I don't know if people always know they can do that. Spiritual Authority in Dreams and Speaking in Tongues

Yeah. Yeah, it helped me. I think um just, you know, the one thing I would say is like, I really had some significant moments where, um ah you know, it was something that I had to develop, but um the gift of speaking in tongues was something I developed quite some years before I ever used it.

There was a moment where a lot of bad stuff was going on in my dream and I actually started speaking in tongues in my dream just out of instincts like as it like and sometimes I would pray but other times I would be by myself speaking in tongues and it really like interestingly it was that I remember one specific dream where I was in trouble in my dream real trouble and it's just started speaking in tongues against the thing that was coming at me and it literally ran away and everything that was trying to oppress me in that dream like it was just one of those nightmare dreams of things that coming after you and I started speaking in tongues to God for help and they started running and away from me as if I had had a weapon while I was speaking in tongues and from that dream

um There'd been some other ones that popped up, but never to the extent that used to oppress me. And so I think um i think when when the Holy Spirit becomes really present in someone's life, they can't, it's not you, it's the power of God that's around you. And they they just don't want to have to deal with that. And so that's really, yeah, that was, it was a marking moment for me to get free of of that stuff.

so Wow. Usually I have people pray at the end, but I feel this right now. Will you actually just, will you pray and release that? I will. Yeah. Those who are needing it. Yeah. Yeah. Thank you. God, I just thank you that you're the God of peace. Lord, I thank you that you have so many gifts to give to your children. I thank you that you speak in so many different ways, Lord, and that that you show up in dreams as well that all throughout the bible that's just been a consistent way that you've chosen to speak to your people has been through dreams Lord I just thank you that that's a chosen avenue of communication for you Lord and I just pray over anybody

um Who is um just continually oppressed in their dreams who are um are facing nightmares of facing night terrors that that feel afraid to go to sleep or are afraid of the dark and I just seeing and hearing just such um terrible things their dreams god i just pray clarity in jesus name uh over them i just i i ask that you would give them a grace and everybody listening right now that a grace would be imparted to them to be able to stand in your spirit lord and that you would impart the power of god around them your presence around them so that the next time that this thing starts to come at them that that would be there would be a barrier between

them and the dreamer God and I ask that um that you give um that you just plant a seed of confidence in them Lord that when they are are faced by a night terror or a nightmare that there would be something new that stirs inside of them to actually stand up in authority God I just pray the authority of God over their mind and of the authority of God over their heart and that they would start to speak things that just declares your presence and against which nothing else can stand God. So I just thank you for the grace and your authority in this matter Lord and that you would clear out

um all the all the yucky things and so that you can actually um start being heard so clearly by them God. I just thank you for that it's just going to be a new day for them God what you've done in me and declare that you will be able to do for other people in Jesus name.

Thank you. I really felt to when you were talking about authority, I was just having a conversation this morning with ah my cousin actually who has been walking in her authority in the last two years in a way that's just like unbelievable and taking back territory that she didn't know was hers. and We were just talking today about how she grew up never really using the word authority or in the church even she's she's a pastor's kid and never really learned about what it meant for authority. So I'm just going to take a second to define that really briefly and then we're going to jump into your dreams.

um But when when Luke and I are talking about authority, we're talking about the fact that we as God's kids don't have to be victims to the spiritual realm. We're actually called to rule and reign with Christ. We've been given the same authority that he had on earth that he has now to actually command the darkness to go and to release light with our words and that we don't have to just take what's coming at us, but we can actually stand in the name of Jesus and covered in the blood of Jesus and that protects us and overcome what's coming at us. So if you haven't been taught that you have a personal authority, if you've if you've been kind of of this, what's the word, that faith that's kind of defeatist, because honestly, there's a lot of there's a lot of denominations that are kind of this defeatist faith. We're just waiting for God to come back.

um then then you haven't been taught the full truth. And this comes really through the recognition of the power of the Holy Spirit. And so we just invite you to dig into that more, learning about it in scripture, going after it in books, um even just inviting the Holy Spirit to come in and fill your life. So here we are and you have a dream for me today. I do. Which we are going to co-interpret. Yes. Oh my gosh. I have had so much fun with Luke even interpreting in that class. So much fun. We've seen all varieties of dreams. It's been hilarious. it's Exactly. Exactly. I'm just, I'm just thinking of some kooky moments right now. I have to just do this before you share the dream. Can you tell me like maybe you're top funniest moment or hardest moment or kookiest moment. Well the one that's top of mind right now for me is somebody who you know usually when when somebody has a dream to share there's a couple scenes in the dream and there's a couple things about the dream that they they don't quite understand.

um And their explanation, usually you have to kind of put a time limit on on the amount of time that they have to share the dream because some of them can be really drawn out. And you know that's actually been some funny ones too, where it's just been like a never ending novel, which is fine. I mean, yeah, lots of detail. It's always great. ah But I've i've had ah ah have at least one or two where the person had the dream said,

um Oh, I got a word in my dream. And I said, oh, OK, well, why don't you share that? And they said, no, it's literally a word. And I was like, OK. And they said, oh, it's one word. And I was like, wait, your dream was one word.

And they were like, yes. so So they shared the word with me. It was literally one word and it was the word um angle, like E-N-G-E-L. That was it. And usually like when you're doing dream interpretation, you have like at least a few minutes to kind of gather your thoughts, to write some notes down, to ask the Holy Spirit, what would you say about this? Be asking God, praying about it while they're sharing with you and then kind of preparing your heart to to share what you feel like the Lord's put on your heart. And no, I had no time. I had about one second. Because they shared one word with me. And um it was incredible. So um this person was from America we we were doing this in America and I think you were you're in the, you're in the same room at the time but you I think you're interpreting with somebody else so.

um So they shared this word and you know what, luckily, so they didn't know what the word meant, um but it had shown up, ah like, um in front of them like I saw the word written in front of them in their dream. um So I can imagine I don't think I've ever seen a word written in my dream before so that would also like I would also want some interpretation from that to be honest.

And luckily I speak German because I actually spent seven years in Germany. um And that's a German word, which is great. Yeah. And um the word angle actually means angel in German.

um and so and I can't I can't quite remember the application but it did have something to do with I have I seem to always end up with people who are getting oppressed in their dreams like are having a lot of nightmares because I think whatever we we've received freedom in the Lord brings people our way that need that freedom so that we can actually help them on that journey and so she was one of them I asked her um do you have um like Do you feel oppressed? Do you feel like there's like things coming at you just spiritually that has has been really troubling for you? And yes, like there were she had been struggling with um nightmares and we went into like I do remember we went into a moment, I was like i was just like, I think God's like encouraging you that but like the Lord of hosts

the angel armies are actually standing behind you. You might see, you might see like um the demonic or the enemy might become really clear to you while you're dreaming. You might try to scare you, but what you don't see perhaps is, um is the Lord is standing there as well. And so are his angel armies, but they're not prideful. So they don't try to jump out at you and show you how great they are, but they are there.

And there's actually three times as many angels as there are demons. And so they're surrounding you as well. And so like we we prayed into that and um I just released, yeah, I just prayed for freedom for her and that same authority piece that I was praying for. And it turned into ah an an incredible ministry moment where she ended up, she was really touched. It was very powerful for her. And it came from a one word dream. I love this. I love what the Lord said. I like I love this for all of you one word dreamers out there. Don't lose hope. Write the word down. Find someone to help you. But man, what if she would have just thrown that away? She wouldn't have had this yeah powerful and encounter moment.

Yeah. And it was crazy cause there was only one other person in the room. There was probably about, uh, I think 20 to 30 and like different people doing interpretation at the time on our team. And there was probably only two people in the room that actually spoke German and which that word would have meant anything too. And she ended up with me. So I think it was really a, you know, connection that got set up. and I do remember that story now. Cause at the end of the class, we would always do a debrief of like, does anybody have anything to share? Does anybody need prayer? or I remember you shared about that one. And I thought, wow.

I'm glad that was you and not me. Yeah. That's always the way. Like when you hear somebody else's, you're like, wow, how did that ever, you like, that was God. Like I couldn't have put that together. Right. And man, there were so many times I remember as well. Like even that morning before we would have class, something would happen to the Lord would speak to me and I wouldn't understand it yet until I had my second or third guest.
God's Messages Through Dreams

And then, Oh my gosh, this is about their dream or it applies to their story. And just the way that he aligned that was so beautiful. and Yeah.

do Do you do you see words in your dreams cuz I I do not I don't think that's ever happened for me. I do see words in my dreams. Oh, okay. I mean, I can't say it's you know, like a weekly or nightly occurrence, but but I do. Yeah.

I would say that's more when I'm having like the snapshot than actually in the dream. Yeah. but yes i'll have um berres um I do get numbers sometimes, but I'm not sure I've everve ever really gotten like, if I, if, if I hear i like a hear words, like I hear, but i I don't think I've ever visually seen a word in a dream. So it's super interesting.

You see numbers or they just end up happening. I've seen like numbers have shown up like in a certain situation. In fact, in the dream, I'm about to share with you, um, a number did show up, but it was like visually it wasn't. Um, so I've visually seen numbers, just not words. Yeah. Interesting. Man, I love it. I just love it. And I love how different all of our dream worlds are, right? Because it's a language that we're learning to cultivate with God.

What would you say, um, you've learned since you've been interpreting, like, are there specific symbols that feel unique that God uses for you in your dreams? Or does it feel like you've just more gotten the hang of his language in general? And so you're learning the metaphorical language or are there specific symbols that he uses a lot for you? Um,

Yeah, there's been there's been an interesting one for me, which I've had to learn early early in the piece. um where sometimes okay so like um Oftentimes you're trying to discern once you've had a dream, you wake up, it was it was an unusual dream. And one of the things you have to do is to discern, okay, was that where's the source of that dream coming from? Because they're not all God dreams. you know We've already talked about dreams from the enemy, used to scare you or whatever else. but um ah So part of part of dream interpretation is to discern um what was the source. And one interesting aspect of that for me was that sometimes I would have something show up in my dream, which I experienced that week, but which turned out to be God's voice. yeah

um yes yes Yes, and that had the potential to trip me up, where I could naturally think, okay, um that just happened in my week, so that can't have been God. But what I've what i've discovered is that sometimes God uses the thing that happened in your week ah while you know while you're doing your day,

That shows up in your dream, but God was using that to tell you something different. um And the clearest example of that for me, um where I started to pay attention, was when I was living in Berlin in Germany. um you know So i'm working I'm working in politics and in Germany. So so' it actually, this relates to political topic, but um showed up later.

i I had read in the news that week about an explosion that happened somewhere in Africa, like that that was in the news that week, and I think a factory had exploded. So a couple nights later I had a dream of a massive explosion happening in a factory, but it wasn't in Africa, it was in um in like a forested area and what looked to be Eastern Europe. And it was like, imagine like, you know so the dream sometimes feel very real. So I was standing there and I was as scared in my dream as if it had happened in real life. Like a massive explosion happened where it was nighttime but the whole thing turned like it was daytime because of the explosion. And the the the thunder of the explosion was like a nuclear bomb going off. And this was in my dream. And I woke up like it was like, whoa, what was that?

um The only difference being that it happened in a forested area rather than in Africa, which had happened in real life in in the news. But i I wrote it off. I was like, oh, I had just written i had just read about that. um So I went about my day doing that. um Turns out a couple of days later,

um an ammunition factory in Ukraine exploded, which people initially thought was like a nuclear bomb going off, and it signaled the start of the Ukraine-Russia war. um and And from that time on, I decided I will never write off a dream just because um it felt like it related to something I just experienced in my ordinary day but yes it may have and that may have had something to do with it but God was using that to try and show me something that hadn't yet happened as well and so um yeah ah from now on whenever I dream a dream which feels like okay I just met that person last week that's why they showed up in my dream

um Or, or I might, I might dream of like a solution or my dream is something work related and I could just be like, Oh, it's just that work. That's why I dreamt about it. No, like pay attention. God sometimes likes to use the things that are familiar to you to show you something new. um And so, um yeah, that's been one of the ways he's shown up for me and I've paid extra attention to you.

I love that. You know, it happens to me as well a lot where I had watched a movie or something, and then those characters will show up in my dream. And it's really easy to be like, I was just processing because I watched that movie, but he uses imagery so clearly to communicate to us and especially characters. He's always done that with me. It's a part of why we love films, right? It's because of relationally what's happening or ah some of the the imagery that's happening there. And so it would be easy for me to be like, but no, he's actually, every time I have found, and I'm not exaggerating, every time I choose to be childlike and curious, I will find him in it. ah Overly wise and like, oh, I know what that was. ah Oh, I know what that, oh, that must have just been right in our logical, prideful mind.

listen He likes to show up in that way. I think he likes to throw a spanner in the works to to dismantle that that pride that can sneak in, that know-it-all mentality. um And he likes to undermine that, I think, and he's done that with me. And and like you said, the the um to become like a child and to see things through wonder and not You know, the adult mind sometimes tries to over analyze and over explain, but children don't do that. They receive things as as it comes. um And they don't have oftentimes they don't have a lot of the barriers, the mental barriers that adults do have towards God. um Yeah, so and and he likes to kick that out of us. So shoot tell isn't than that yet he sure does. He's like become like the children. They're the ones inheriting the kingdom. Yes.

Cause the kingdom's accessed by faith. Oh my goodness. So much there. So much there. Okay, Lord, are we getting to the dream now? Or is there something else? I'm just having so much fun. Me too. We might have two podcasts here. I might just split this up. Nice.
