I go back and forth between Christmas and Halloween for favorite holiday of the year, but it's definitely a big day in our house, but we're going to take some time to record a quick podcast, uh, talking about Halloween havoc, taking a look at this weekend's crown jewel show. And we got some figure stuff to discuss

Um, you know, we've already decided we've been so busy this month. We decided to extend spooky season through November 30th. So we're not, we're, you know, there'll be some bleed over between like black Friday and the end of November where, uh, we got Christmas and Halloween coexisting, but

Uh, but yeah, we're going to extend the Halloween season through the end of the year. And this year we're celebrating Dia de los Muertos here at the house. The kids are learning all about the tradition. So we do have a November holiday that we're, we're sliding right into to kind of extend, uh, you know, extend the season. So it's not, it's not dead over here at this house, but yeah, it kind of, it's a kind of a bummer. The kids got costumes. They were super excited to wear them. Brett was out of town.

this past weekend, so we didn't get to get in on any of the like trunk or treat action, which we typically don't, but when you- We had some bad weather coming in. Yeah, when you forgo the trunk or treat like the weekend before Halloween, you're kind of putting all your eggs in one basket and just hoping for good weather and like all that kind of stuff on the night of Halloween. So we kind of screwed ourselves, but you know, we're going to make the best of it regardless of whether we get to trick or treat or not. We're going to get some junk food and make it a spooky night here. Sheena, let us know what's new on the farm.

Not a whole lot's new here on the farm. Just doing some, what I call carbon vulturing, where I go around and collect everybody's fallen leaves to put on the garden for mulch and make little pollinator habitats and stuff like that for them to overwinter. You can make little cages or boxes of fallen leaves and it's a good place for all of your bees and your butterflies and all of your bug friends to hang out through the winter months and overwinter. And it also helps to protect the garden bed. You just create a big,

Yeah, for sure. Our little guy, he plays flag football for a six-year league here locally. And our team, and it's a competitive league. It's not like rec league. It's legit. It's as legit as you can get with six and seven-year-olds playing football. Yeah. And our guys went undefeated all season, man. It was just incredible, total team effort from all of our guys. And they've just improved every week.

We got the playoffs coming up. So we're number one seed in the playoffs and we have some we have some stiff competition ahead in these playoff games. But I have no doubt that we can freaking, you know, squash the competition. Yeah, they really did dominate. It's from week to week. It seemed like, you know, there were times where we were nervous, but looking back on the whole, it gave up two touchdowns all season.

They led the league in scoring offense and in scoring defense. So as long as they keep doing what they're doing, I think we're going to be celebrating the championship here in a few weeks. I know. That'll be super cool, dude. I mean, you think about all the sports teams you were ever on or that you knew people were on. I never had a straight up championship season where it was like we were the ones at the end just holding gold. Putting the ones up. Yeah. So pretty cool to see your kid get to have a season like that.

All right, so let's start back last Sunday. We had NXT Halloween Havoc 2024. I don't think this was a Hall of Fame version of Halloween Havoc, but I was still entertained and, and I enjoyed the show. What were your thoughts? I thought it was good. It was a quick, you know, typical WWE five match special. Um, lots of spinning the wheels to make all the deals. And, um, I thought all the gimmick matches were cool, dude. I thought I was sports entertained. I didn't think there were any like straight up stinkers on the card. And, um, you know, overall I thought,

Before so overall this is we're five years into the NXT Halloween Havoc reboots. What what's your thoughts on the overall conception? I love it, dude I feel like they've done a really good job keeping the Halloween Havoc You know just they really go all out with the theme and I love that they you know the Spin the original spin the wheel make the deal we all know as it was just kind of like one of those like Wrestle crap situations where it didn't really it had the potential to be if coal miners glove on a pole matches an option you need to rethink the entire wheel

So you would love to see it as, you know, one of the main shows for WWE or even if they get, they kicked over to AW, but

I think with the tone and everything, it's perfect for NXT. NXT is a little bit lighter tone. It's not as super serious as WWE is or as AEW tries to be. We know kind of WWE is kind of toned back a little bit on like the hardcore like,

We had ladders there, like pumpkins and like all the things. It was neat. I love the way they did it, man. I love if they would drop like, you know, like a Halloween Havoc playset where you get like the little stage and all the props and stuff. I would love like a vintage Halloween Havoc playset with like the big jack-o-lantern. And the pumpkin stuff. Yeah, that'd be cool.

It's just been downhill since then, dude. Yeah, it's gonna be ugly. Luckily, when they go into max in January, that's gonna kinda kill the discourse about the TV ratings every single week. So many people will be streaming it. And I mean, ultimately, nobody cares about the TV. We bring it up just because sometimes it's relevant. I think it's a good metric just to look at what the overall interest level, more than the TV ratings, I look at the live attendance, which that's been pretty bleak too. They sold out that ECW arena in like seconds.
