Special Christmas Eve Episode Introduction

00:00:16
Speaker
What is up goal line listeners? We are back with a very special Christmas Eve edition of the goal line. It's bright and early in the morning, ah but we, you know, we, the schedule did not work in our favor this week, but we did not want to miss a week of the goal line, especially in a regular season. So Jordan, what's going on with you, man? Well, it would have been brighter and earlier if I would actually woke up, but ah yeah, I just went ahead and slept right through whatever alarms I set. So well,
00:00:41
Speaker
Yeah, at least we're still doing it. It's eight twenty in the morning on Christmas Eve. So I mean, this is still dedication either way. Yeah. And peek behind the microphone, it's probably Carbo for me. Jordan's wasted probably days of his life on all the extra. I'm perpetually 15 to 20 minutes late to hit to hit the record button on podcast. So I really can't ah I can't hold much of a grudge on this one. I've got to go a little workout in a bright eyed bushy tailed ready to

Falcons vs Giants Game Analysis

00:01:06
Speaker
go, man. Jordan, you get into some football talks, do it.
00:01:17
Speaker
All right, let's, uh, we'll start with the Falcons game. Um, yeah, this, this, uh, Michael Pinnock's move should have happened weeks ago. They just look like a completely different team. And before everyone just jumps in with a dude, it's the Giants. Giants actually had a decent pass defense coming into this game. There were six in the NFL. They had the six most sacks coming into this game. He wasn't sacked the one picky through NFL defense. Yeah. and The one NFL defense. The one pick he threw was Kyle Pitt's fault, clearly. I mean, literally the ball. I don't know how that was a pick. That should help should have been a fumble on Kyle Pitt. It should have been a successful lateral date. It was beautiful. Yeah.
00:01:55
Speaker
um Dude, it just it looked completely different with him running the offense. I mean, there was so much zip on the balls. There was ah quite a few drops in that game because I just don't think they were ready for that at all. um when So we recorded on Monday night and then the next day it comes out like, oh, they've never caught balls from him this season. How is that possible?
00:02:22
Speaker
coaching malpractice dude, where he more is a fucking terrible coach. I just, I don't even understand what they're doing. So what the fuck did Michael Penix do the entire season? Yeah. Like he just, he never threw a pass to any of the receivers. Just blows my mind. But well, I'm back in now. Cause then the bucks lost Sunday night. So Falcons are back in the driver's seat at NFC South. They need to win one and have the buck tough game, dude. Uh, tough game coming up Sunday night, man. It's going to be a tough one. It is a,
00:02:53
Speaker
commanders are a really good team panexs first roadar sunday night football like jesus dude talk about putting all the They're frisky. yeah they it wouldn't Yeah, it wouldn't be the all-time shocker if they came up and bet on me. Panthers have been much improved over the second half of the season. And it is two division opponents, a lot of times throughout the records. But after watching the Saints last night, I have 0-5. Saints are ready for the offseason, man. they're They're already planning for, you know, the the players, coaches, whole organization feels like it's ready to just turn the page on the season. But yeah, I think that that that Panthers game is the one where you really got to kind of hedge your bets on, man. If you're looking for a little bit
00:03:37
Speaker
of a

Falcons' Postseason Prospects

00:03:38
Speaker
breathing room. But like you said, dude, end of the day, it's two weeks left in the season and the Falcons control their own destiny, man. If they handle their business, they're going to be in the postseason for the first time since 2017. two thousand seventeen beautiful. um Yeah, that's that's really all I got about the Falcons. I mean, I don't know what else I can say. like i'm I'm extremely happy that they made it this far.
00:03:58
Speaker
I still think they got the wrong head coach, but I mean, he, he decided to get the and the wrong quarterback, da they should have just drafted panics thing. If they would have, if they knew they were going to draft panics things, they just would have drafted him and spent the 90 million that they're going to spend over the next two years on Kirk cousins on additional pieces for that roster. They had just the absolutely disastrous off season for the Falcons. Yeah. Terry fontano.
00:04:21
Speaker
If they don't make the playoffs, I think Fatima and Rahim Morris are both getting canned because Rahim Morris not benching young Hoku is the other thing. And then he finally benches them this week. I mean, dude, they couldn't even kick a field goal the last four weeks. It had to be perfect distance for him to be able to make it because apparently his hip was much worse than they were disclosing.
00:04:42
Speaker
Yeah, and the other thing did you do in your player to service also did you know everybody's saying like what the hell is wrong with this guy? What did we said it? He's been Mr. Atlanta Falcon in this decade man, and you're gonna let him get drugged through the mud I mean and it's not like it's a quarterback where you're worried about people targeting an injury Just let him know like hey this dude's out here gutting it out um But now we're gonna let him just keep bricking these field goals and not say nothing about it man like yeah, I just i didn't I still got a tiny little shred of Falcons fandom in my heart, but ah this is just ah a clown franchise, man. so There's just so much shit that they just don't get right, it feels like. Guess where we'll both be sending a glued in front of the fucking TV, watching Falcons commanders. That is a really good game now, like PennX versus Jayden Daniels is, I mean, they' they're going to draw ratings on Sunday night for sure.
00:05:28
Speaker
Open for a Christmas miracle for you, dude. I hope so. All right, let's go to the- In DC or in Atlanta? It's in DC. Gonna be a tough one. But they can do it, man. Let's go to the flip side of the coin. Tennessee football this weekend. Yikes. i just I'll let you ref on it for a little bit, but not good.

Tennessee vs Ohio State Game Review

00:05:53
Speaker
Yeah. Volus has ran into a buzz saw on Saturday night, man. You know, the, uh, the thing, all the, like the pipeline all week was that Ohio state had the most talented roster in college football and it definitely looked like it, man. I, you know, I wouldn't be surprised at all to see them go all the way. They actually opened his favorites over Oregon based off that showing. I think it said more about Ohio state than it did Tennessee. I think, you know,
00:06:14
Speaker
Tennessee can't I mean, I don't think they weren't ready. i They obviously got punched in the mouth that first quarter and we said it all along man the offense can be slow starting and the the offense kind of comes and goes all season and when you're getting three and outs and the the other team's offense is just totally dialed in it's just you know, it's There's really nothing you can do. They weren't such a hole right away. I had a really good second quarter I like the way they fought back. I thought Nico played really hard the whole game and showed a lot of grit out there. But, you know, as outside from that little fleeting, little bit of hope ah that Vol's nation had towards the end of the second quarter and going into halftime, wasn't a lot to be happy about. That said, it was still a great season. um You know, I think kind of like in my mind at the start of the year, I really just wanted them to make the playoffs and and see what happens.
00:06:58
Speaker
um But yeah, Ohio State looked tough, man. they they they looked it It really makes that Michigan loss that much more perplexing, like, what the hell happened? like Maybe they really do. I don't really buy into like the whole, like oh, there's like a mental block against this one team, whether it's from the players or the coaching staff. But i you know it's hard to argue against it after seeing what they did against Tennessee. Because dude, I watched every Vols game this year. That defense is amazing, man. like That is an awesome defense. And they straight up got their asses kicked all over the field on on Saturday night.
00:07:29
Speaker
Yeah. And I just, that's why and like ever since the Michigan game, you're like, dude, Ohio State doesn't deserve to even be here, let alone be hosting a home game. And I'm like, I'm telling you, dude, this team is way better than you think. I'm telling you, the Big 10 is better than you think. Yeah, your whole SEC would just whomp all over the Big 10 thing isn't looking so good after one week of playoffs. so I mean, we're not still think they would man. I do. We, we kind of at the top of it, yeah, it's probably a wash dude, but if you get past the heavyweight state, I feel like the, the, the, the, the lower weight classes. I think the sec crushes them, bro. Like look at some of those, like look at the bottom five teams of the big 10 compared to the bottom five of the sec.
00:08:10
Speaker
Okay, so what you said about like, oh, who cares about anything other than the playoffs at this point, like bowl games don't matter. So you basically just admitted in in huge scenarios, the big 10 is going to be better than the SEC.

Critique of College Football Playoffs

00:08:25
Speaker
No, I don't. Cause I feel like georgia gets you're talking about the bottom of the SEC. I don't care about the bottom of the SEC or the big 10, the top of the big 10 can compete with the SEC. Like I just, what's the top of the top of the big 10 is what Penn state and, uh, in Ohio state. Cause I don't count Oregon dude, or Oregon, Oregon's a, they're big 10 by, by default. so They don't want to be in the big 10 by that logic. You're going with Georgia and Tennessee were the only two SEC teams that actually made the college football playoff.
00:08:54
Speaker
Yeah, Texas is still big 12, dude. SEC doesn't claim to Texas State. So the SEC has one team left, and they're about to get beat by Notre Dame. Like, that's this this is the big, bad SEC you're talking to about? I think they, I mean, I'm not convinced Notre Dame wins, man. I think they got a real good shot, dude, but it wouldn't shock me one bit. That line and a half is absolutely insane to me. Like I i well the jordan did. I know he's got a backup quarterback man, but they've had two weeks to get him ready, dude. Like I'm pretty sure like the dudes, if he's, if he's the backup quarterback for Georgia, he's still gotta be a damn good player. okay That's not what I'm saying. I'm just saying I seriously thought Georgia would be favored by more than one and a half. I know it's a backup quarterback, but dude, these are the moments Notre Dame usually folds in. That's the problem. I just.
00:09:40
Speaker
I don't know, man, this is going to be a weird playoff. Like the, the first round games, I don't know why everybody's all been out of shape and like, Oh, we need to redo this whole thing. Dude, of course the fucking lower teams are going to be fucking worse. Like who the hell expected the 12 seed to go on and beat the five seed? Like, come on, dude. like This is ridiculously. Everybody's panicking. Indiana lost by 10 points to Notre Dame and everybody's acting like they got beat 80 to zero. Like, dude, calm down. Like, Yeah, I'm not so much that the outcome of the games that really bother me I mean we see NFL wild card weekends that are stinkers wherever some games of blood also that happens I think the problem is with the format man I think there should have been either like it's just look at what the five the teams that lost in the conference championships dude freakin Texas and Penn State they're getting to go play Boise State and Arizona State, which I'll respect to them Those are good teams, but they're totally different ah You know, that's a totally different path from freaking
00:10:38
Speaker
Georgia and Oregon that actually won these games, dude, they're catching Ohio State and Notre Dame, man. Like, it it feels kind of backwards, dude, that the top two seeds are getting the tougher games in the second round. I mean, Ohio State's arguably arguably playing the best team in the playoff this week, like, or Oregon, sorry.
00:10:55
Speaker
That's I think that's what I said, Oregon, but yeah, I think, uh, yeah, I don't know if I mean, ah it's definitely not a hot take. Everybody's been screaming for it. I think if, you know, we know we're logged in for the same format next year and then 2026, they can tweak it. I really think if they just get rid of the automatic buys, like just see it, like the top four teams get the buys yeah and and leave it at that. I think we're pretty much on point, man. I don't got a problem with the conferences automatically getting in. I think that's fair.
00:11:20
Speaker
But I think having the the making the top four seeds have to be conference winners. I think that's what's throwing things off a little bit. Also, it's not going to be hard for them. like Everybody's like, well, what if the big 10 winner is lower than five going into conference championship weekend? It's like, dude, they can easily bump them up to four. it' ah It'll work out just fine. like They can rank them however they want. like Who's really going to be arguing over who gets the fourth buy? like Dude, it's just, they got to do something different. There's no way I agree with you. There's no way Boise state and Arizona state should be getting by weeks. And then Texas and Penn state should basically be getting a free pass to the semi-finals. Like I'm a hundred percent on board with you.

Titans' Challenges and Draft Implications

00:12:02
Speaker
Having said that, I really hope Texas loses. Like that would be just beautiful for this format. I do not think Boise state is going to win. I think Penn state might actually kill them.
00:12:13
Speaker
But yeah, same game. Um, do you want to talk about Titans game at all? Uh, no, I mean, it was another, the, the respectable tank continues to tanking, but, uh, you know, they showed a lot of fight, dude.
00:12:24
Speaker
kind They had a hell of a comeback. They damn near came back from 20 plus down um And you know, you don't affect your draft position. So If it feels like the Levis ah era is officially dead, you know, Mason Rudolph looked good for second straight week or at least look competent, you know, so and We'll see what happens man. Yeah, it's gonna be Interesting to see what they do especially with the draft and everything. But yeah, I mean it was what it was and I Dude, they're just like handing the Colts a playoff spot. Let's see which game they blow. I mean, they're like, they literally play the three worst teams in the NFL to close out the season. It's just insane to me, but whatever. We're just going to rattle off a couple. We're going to try to make this as quick as possible. Ravens with a really big win against the Steelers. Dude, they just dominated the Steelers that entire game.
00:13:15
Speaker
Yeah, they kicked the Steelers ass, man. A couple Russell Wilson turnovers that really kind of changed the tide, man. He had that nice scramble right for halftime that could have set things different. But it seemed like ah every time there was an opportunity for the Steelers to get within striking distance, they they just you know they made the big mistakes. Ravens were the better team. Derek Henry, 160 yards rushing. Just awesome, awesome performance, man. Like I said, when this team's on point,
00:13:39
Speaker
ah They're they're right there with the the Lions and the Chiefs and the Eagles of the league is best team best teams out there But they there's just been a lot of inconsistency this year. It's coming gone some weeks but I definitely would not want to be seeing them coming into my house for the For the playoffs and you know if the Steelers stumble here Steelers still got him on the tiebreaker But if the Steelers stumble down the stretch and they got a huge game on Christmas Day, obviously The Ravens could get right back in there for for home field i I do not see how the Steelers end up winning out. du The Steelers got the Chiefs this week and then they got the Bengals next week and the or the Ravens get the Texans this week who are limping into this game and then the Browns. so
00:14:20
Speaker
yeah Things or friends are in a good spot, man. you know Plus, you know, the Bengals would love nothing more than to fuck up the Steeler season and in week 18. Well, not to mention the Bengals are still alive. Like, they're they're still alive for a playoff spot. I think it's a very faint alive, but they're still technically alive because if Kansas City wins this week, they clinch the first round, or they clinch the number one seed. I highly laid doubt Kansas City is playing all their starters against Denver in week 18, and Denver just needs one win to get the last playoff spot. so No, I'm about to look at the math. That's exactly where the the Bengals are. Like a 5% chance I saw the other night. So it's it's it's still a long shot, but I mean, they need everybody in front of them to lose. They still need in need to lose one game. They need Miami to lose one game and then they need Denver to lose out. That's the two just Denver got left. Denver has Cincinnati this week and then Kansas City. Yeah, they could do it, man.
00:15:18
Speaker
That'd be a dangerous team if they got into you. The defense is probably so bad that it would make a difference, but i their offense is one of the best offenses we've seen over the last few years, man. The problem is is they they have to have Indy and Miami both drop a game. Miami's got Cleveland and the Jets on the schedule, and Indy's got Jacksonville and ah the Giants this week, so best of luck with that.
00:15:42
Speaker
Um, okay. Commander is with a comeback win. Now granted, I don't think this is the way this game goes. If Jalen hurts plays Kenny picket is God awful, dude. This is not a good week for Eagles fans that were calling for Jalen hurts head. Cause I just, yeah, Kenny picket might never start another game in the NFL, man. He's so bad. Like this is the thing about Jalen hurts though, man. You're going to live and die with what he does. And.
00:16:07
Speaker
That scrambling backfired in a big way in that game and you got knocked out of the game concussion He tried to go back in and they took him into the locker room. So I don't know man. I just That's a pretty bad loss for the Eagles, especially considering what the score was at some point. I mean, it was 21 seven at one point. So I don't, not good, but either way the Eagles will still be fine. Assuming Jalen hurts is fine. So it's not a huge deal, but still sucks for them. Um, that's really, that's the games I really wanted to go over. I mean, is there anything else from this weekend that you really wanted to touch on? Like there wasn't a whole lot of exciting football this weekend.
00:16:49
Speaker
No, we'll keep it moving, man. o Me and Jordan both got full slates for the ah the day once we get done with this. see know with the doing the Doing family stuff. So yeah, we'll we'll get rolling right into our week 17 picks.
00:17:17
Speaker
All right, Jordan, how do we do week 16? I lost. I didn't do the entire math, but I lost four game or I lost five games. You lost four games. You won the week. So let's go. Is that is that a clinch for the season? That is a clinch seven year seven, four and four.
00:17:32
Speaker
Back to back years, man. Let's go, dude. All right, let's get into week 17, man. So first off, tomorrow, we got two games on Christmas. Chiefs and Steelers opening it up at noon on Netflix. I'm not going to lie, I do not like this at all. Like, I just, the the more this has gone on, the fact that they're playing Wednesday games, I do not like this. And I know at the NFL- It throws everything off, man. it Wednesday, Christmas is supposed to be for the NBA and also this is the fantasy football championship dude like you want you don't want these two funky games on Wednesday kind of having to throw off your decision making for the rest of the week because what if you got guys who are kind of like you know

NFL Games on Christmas: A Scheduling Debate

00:18:09
Speaker
questionable like I don't know man I'm right there with you let the NBA just have Christmas not just that these are four teams that are in playoff spots like these are huge fucking games I just
00:18:18
Speaker
Yeah, if if you could have flex dude, they may have this may have been the two games Netflix picks if if you told him Sunday night, dude Hey, you guys just pick which two games y'all want these might have been the two they grabbed from this week man I just I the more I thought about this the more I hate it um As far as the first game I'm gonna go with the Chiefs. I just This would be pretty bad for the Steelers that'll lose three straight games But like dude, how am I supposed to pick against the Chiefs right now? Like they're just rolling.
00:18:44
Speaker
Yeah, it's it's cliche, man, but dude they just know how to win. They just do. they find They execute down the stretch and close games out better than anybody in the league. and And yeah, I'm right there with you, man. I think they go into Pittsburgh and get the win. And then the other one, we have the Ravens traveling down to Houston, Texans coming off a hard fought.
00:19:02
Speaker
ah ah the Hard-fought loss against the Chiefs man. We saw tank Dale lose to just a gruesome leg injury I don't do this Texas seems that good and I think this Texan team is way worse than their nine and six record shows and I think this Ravens team is way better than their ten and five record shows I think we see a big day and Texans going to that last week of the season with a lot of pressure on their shoulders Why they already clinched the division?
00:19:29
Speaker
but oh there I thought the Colts could still catch them. No vision. They already clench it like two. There's no pressure then, but no pressure at all. It's already done. Uh, I'm going Baltimore as well, but I don't think the Texans are honestly that bad. I mean, dude, their entire receiving room is depleted at this point. Like they're losing people quite a bit. And I know Detroit can make the same excuse, but it's just, I feel bad for tank Dell men back to back seasons of torn ACLs down the season. like just brutal for a guy like him. So yeah. Oh, so because, because Houston swept Indy, that's why they, uh, they already got the tie burger. I was, I was just looking at the the records, man. I thought Indy could still potentially catch them. They clenched it like two or three weeks ago. Okay. So Houston, uh, you say, who are you picking? Baltimore. They're going to Baltimore is going to steam. I do. I think when Baltimore is on there, the best team in the NFL. I really do. That team is when they play like they did against Steelers, they're pretty tough to beat.
00:20:25
Speaker
All right. We also have Thursday night football this week. We got the Seahawks and the Bears in Chicago. Seahawks been a little bit of a rough stretch, man. After that 3-0 start, they kind of been one of the more up and down teams of the league. Lost a tough one to the Vikings at home on Sunday, but I think they get back on track and beat Chicago Thursday night. Yeah. I mean, they played Green Bay and, um,
00:20:49
Speaker
Green Bay and Minnesota back to back weeks. That is not an easy stretch. So yeah, I'm going to Seahawks as well. And the bears are just, the bears are going to win less games with, uh, Caleb Williams and they did with Justin Fields last year. I am not convinced this team is on the right trajectory at all. Like I just, they better hire the right head coach. That's all I'm going to say. Cause this team is not looking like they are even close to where they should be.
00:21:14
Speaker
So Justin Fields has won as many games in six starts with the Steelers as the Bears have won in 15 starts with, uh, you know, with whoever they're throwing out there, man. So they haven't won since they went to London and played Jacksonville in October. Like they've lost every game since then. That is absolutely insane. Rough year for the bears. Um, all right. Then we get three games on Saturday. So we're just, we're all over the map, uh, with the calendar this week, NFL, just about every damn day.
00:21:41
Speaker
um Saturday, we got the Chargers and Patriots in New England Chargers got to get this one, right? Yeah, this clench is a playoff berth for the Chargers if they win, so I'm gonna go Chargers. Then a huge game Saturday afternoon, man, the Broncos and the Bengals in Cincy. I think since he gets it done, man, I'm still a believer, dude, they're my preseason Super Bowl pick, I'm gonna hold on to that little shred of hope man and say that they get it done to at least stay alive for one more week.
00:22:06
Speaker
Yeah, I think Cincinnati wins as well. I mean, this is not, I'm not putting a ton of faith in this because the Bengals defense could just implode at any moment. And as bad as Denver played on defense last Thursday night against the Chargers, they're not that bad defensively. So I don't know. I mean, I think Denver could get and one more stop than the Bengals and win, but i' I'm going to go bangles just so they stay alive.
00:22:29
Speaker
hunt Sean Payton's downfall, man. You love to see it. I do hate Sean Payton. Cardinals and Rams in l LA, Cardinals were eliminated this past week. I think the i think the Rams roll here, man. Yeah, I'm going to Rams as well. The Rams are going to win that division. They're just, they're playing really well at the right time.
00:22:47
Speaker
All right, so now we get into Sunday, Jets and Bills. The Bills, you know, they got the win. There's actually a down week for them. Josh Allen kind of deep-sixed my fantasy football championship dreams. But I think they kick ass here, man. They're 10-point favorites, which is pretty wild. and What a just absolute disaster as the Jets finish out the string here. Yeah, I'm going Buffalo as well. There are some bad football games this weekend. Yeah, especially once you get to Sunday, man. We got a couple good ones, man. but the toilet bowl coming up right here dude we got the titans and jags coming off that i think six to twelve uh instant classic they had from a few weeks back in jacksonville this time i'll go with the jags man just because you know mason rudoff's been a little bit feisty i mean both these teams should be fighting to to lose this one because
00:23:31
Speaker
All you're doing is helping your division rival by beating them. um It's just crazy because, you know, five or six years ago, these teams were kind of perpetually playing to kind of lock up the division in the in the last game of the season. And now here we are. um But just, you know, fighting for who's going to have the higher draft pick, man. But I'll say the Jags win. I'm going Titans. Jacksonville just lost to the Raiders. I don't need any more explanation of why I'm picking the Titans.
00:23:56
Speaker
All right, we got the Panthers and Bucks in Tampa. I hate to say it, but I think Tampa gets the win here. Well, I already lost the season, so we have to have some difference. I'm going Carolina. If Rashad White just doesn't fumble, man, I think Tampa was on their way to coming back and Cowboys blowing another one on Sunday night. and Yeah, that was a weird game, dude. it For a while there, it looked like Dallas was just going to beat him by like 20 points. I mean,
00:24:24
Speaker
I guess I don't pay attention to enough. Dude, Baker plays so off the hinge like a lot of times. I mean, he does some dumbass stuff. he That fumble that he had on that sack, he's just running backwards for like 20 yards trying to break a sack from Michael Parsons. It's like, dude, just go down.
00:24:41
Speaker
I mean, but dude, look at that play that last play when we're shot white fumble, dude, he's literally dragging a guy and then completes it should have been. I mean, that should have been on the highlights all this week, man. So it was costing the freaking game was on the highlights all week. All right, Raiders and Saints in New Orleans. Jesus. No, you're wrong. This is the toilet bowl. Saints are the only team that I felt that it was been shut out this year, like insane.
00:25:04
Speaker
This is bad. I'm going to go. Oh God. I'll go Saints. Yeah. I think they, I think they turned it around and in New Orleans week of Christmas, I think that I think they'll, they'll get the, the super dome rock in one more week and saints win. I'll go to New Orleans as well. All right. Cowboys and Eagles in Philly. ah Eagles. We know for sure. If Jalen Hurst is playing, I know for sure, but I'm, I think it would take a lot for him to be held out at this point. Like they need to win this game.
00:25:34
Speaker
All right, so we'll go out of Philly as well. Colts and Giants in New York. Fuck it, man. I'll go Colts, dude. I guess at some point you got to buy in that this is a straight up mediocre team, dude. ive I thought they were a bad team pretending to be a mediocre team all season long, but I guess they're just straight up run of the mill average team. And I'm going Colts to go in there and beat up New York. Yeah, I'm going Colts as well. All right, Dolphins and Browns in Cleveland.
00:25:56
Speaker
um
00:25:59
Speaker
I'll go Dolphins. um
00:26:05
Speaker
Yeah, I'll go Dolphins unless they put Jamis back in. I'll go Dolphins. I don't think they're going to, dude. like I just yeah that's not think they see what they got with DTR, which is the smart move, man. Packers and Vikings in Minnesota. I think the Packers going to get the win, man. I think the Packers are the slightly better team. um they're They're getting hot right now. Obviously, they kicked the Saints' asshole over the field last night. I think the Packers go in into Minnesota and and knock the Vikings down.
00:26:33
Speaker
I'm going to go Minnesota just because I want week 18 to really be for the whole shebang. Assuming Minnesota and Detroit win this week, week 18 is for the number one seed in the NFC and the division. I really want it to happen, so that's I'm going to pick Minnesota based on that.
00:26:50
Speaker
Yeah, that's got the serious because there's not a ton of playoff drama left this year, man. So that's got the chance to be the end up being the season finale. Yeah, you'd end up being here little the one or the five seed like that is absolutely insane that that can actually happen in week 18. Yeah, you're talking about being a wild card or or having to buy.
00:27:10
Speaker
Plus home field advantage. Yeah, absolutely gigantic game. Falcons and commanders Sunday night in DC. I mean, you already know who I'm going to pick in this game. Like, dude, if I'm nothing else, I'm going to buy into my team when they got a chance. They're probably going to lose, but I'm going Falcons.
00:27:26
Speaker
Yeah, I Feel like it's an absolutely horrible matchup for them pass rush has been playing better for the Falcons last few weeks They've been able to get some pressure um I'll go Falcons to you man. Let's let's try to get some Christmas magic going ah Wouldn't ah definitely wouldn't put the mortgage payment on that one though. Yeah, don't say well don't say they go an am at the throw the mortgage on it And then Monday Night Football, I'm sure you know ESPN was probably looking at their chops at this one ah you know and and the priests here when the when the schedule came out. But we got Detroit and San Francisco. In San Francisco, but I don't think it's going to be enough, man. The Niners just bid the season from hell, man, just decimated with injuries. It felt like every time they started stringing together a little something, like they were going to be back. um They ended up getting smacked down again. I think Lions go in and roll to set up that potential a gigantic game for next week. Yeah. I'm going to Detroit as well, I just.
00:28:19
Speaker
I don't know. I don't really have a reasoning behind it. I just, I, like you said, San Francisco is just what a horrible season and they're going to have a lot of decisions to make in the off season. And it's, this is not going to be a fun off season for San Francisco. Yeah. They're really they're a victim of their own success, man, with all the successful drafts that they had there from, you know, 19 through 21 into 22, they hit on so many draft picks. But the problem is that all those second contracts are coming due now and you got to decide who who you're going to pay, man. So yeah, it's going to be a.
00:28:50
Speaker
going to be to a tough off season up in San Francisco. yeah All right, let's get to $2 million dollar bets.
00:29:10
Speaker
All right, Jordan dropped both his bets last week. I hit big on that Buffalo Atlanta, Cincinnati parlay. I'm back on top right now by about 200,000. Jordan's sitting at 2,588,000. I'm at 2,794.
00:29:28
Speaker
ah We'll see what happens here man. We got two weeks left in the playoffs Jordan. What's your first bet this week? Okay, so I'm gonna go Ravens Seahawks and Chargers moneyline I'm gonna put a hundred thousand on that and it'll pay 315 315 thousand fifty nine dollars
00:29:47
Speaker
All right, I'm starting off with a little bit of ah Christmas parlay magic. I'm just going straight up Casey and Baltimore Moneyline. So that one is $100,000 bet to pay out $212,000. Nice. Then my other one, I'm going to go Rams, Bills and Falcons Moneyline. $50,000 would pay out $209,385.
00:30:13
Speaker
Okay, so Jordan going for some serious money right now. Let me punch in my last one, dude. I thought I had it written down, but I didn't. So my last one, yeah, all right, I got it here. So I'm going, sticking with the NFC North has been a big moneymaker for me all this year. They've kind of driven this big comeback I've had second half of the season. I'm going Lions with the spread, minus three and a half against the Niners. And then I'm going Moneyline with the Packers and Seahawks. So I'm picking the Seahawks to beat the Bears. I'm not going with all NFC North winners, but that is a three pick parlay And I'm putting down $150,000 on that, which will pay out $872,252 if it wins, man. Jesus. Yeah, that it really it does not like that ah the packers over the that you know the Packers are the underdog against the Vikings. So that really kicks that one out, man. Yeah.
00:31:01
Speaker
All right. That's a wrap. Hold on. Hold on. We got

Quarterbacks' Gifts to Offensive Linemen

00:31:04
Speaker
two questions. Uh, my brother in law, Manny wrote in two questions for us. He has it, uh, with the holidays being here as a former lineman. So this is addressed to me. What quarterback would you want to get gifts from Joe burrow or Brock party? I don't know if you saw it, but Brock pretty bought all 10 of his offensive lineman, uh, Toyota trucks.
00:31:24
Speaker
And then Joe Burrow got his offensive lineman's Japanese swords, but he didn't give him to him. He let him pick which one he wanted. I mean, out of these two, I'm probably going with the truck. Like, I don't know what I'm going to do with the sword, but it is. It is a cool gift.
00:31:39
Speaker
ah Also, how the hell is Brock Purdy, the guy who's making league minimum? I mean, I know he has a deal with Toyota, so they gave him the trucks, but still, like, dude, his alignment all make like, quadruple, not even quadruple, probably 20 times what he's making. Like, yeah absolutely insane to me.
00:31:56
Speaker
Yeah, it was a very generous gift. I'm with you. I think I'll take the Toyota over the sword. Uh, second question was also which offensive line do you think, uh, most deserves coal this Christmas? I mean, the bears, i want titans bro the bears probably are up there too. Like Caleb we has been sacked more than anybody else. So bears probably definitely the worst man. Titans are, you know, my personal one that they just, that O line has been bad for two and a half seasons now.
00:32:22
Speaker
Yep. Horrible. And then he also said, uh, Merry Christmas to you, to both of y'all. I really enjoy the show. So thanks for those questions, man. Appreciate it. Yeah. Like I said, there was some, uh, a lot, a lot of football action over the last week. We probably would have gone into greater detail on, on a, on a normal week, but dude, it's Christmas Eve, man. And we got stuff to get to you, man. Yeah. Love you guys, man. I hope you guys all have a really great Christmas and, uh, yeah, we'll talk to you guys next week.
