What

Introduction and Upcoming Finale

00:00:15
Speaker
is up goal line listener? We are back with the regular season finale of the goal line football podcast. Jordan, what's going on, man? Yeah. Uh, season went fast as we knew it would, but, uh, yeah, here we are. Week 18 is upon us, my friend.
00:00:29
Speaker
All right, we have a hard out in about 35 minutes because me and Jordan are also going to be recording a resting figure podcast with our good friends, the Fig Guys. So if you're inclined, it's going to show up on this feed as well. Give that a listen. Let's get right to it, man. You ready to talk some football, Jordan? Let's do it.
00:00:55
Speaker
All right. Well,

Huskers' Win and Bowl Game Critique

00:00:56
Speaker
let's, uh, let's start with my good news from the weekend. Um, the Huskers finally won a bowl game for the first time in eight years. Uh, first time they had a winning record since 2015. The game was absolute trash. They, they should stop playing that game in New York, dude. I don't know how much of it you saw, but it had rained overnight and the field was just soaked. I mean, every time they made a tackle, the players slid like 10 yards. It was Absolutely. nice Yeah, I'm a traditionalist man bowl game is supposed to be warm weather supposed to be a vacation for the players and the fans, you know, after a hard fought season, not a not going up to to the freaking frozen tundra of ah New York. Here's my thing, too. So like the warm weather cities ESPN is already set up there for other bowl games and stuff like why not play two bowl games in Tampa? Like I just don't understand what you're hurting if you're playing a game a week before another game. I just
00:01:47
Speaker
it's such a waste going to um places like New York. Cause you just never know what the weather is going to be like. And yeah, man, that was an absolute trash game. And I don't know if you saw any of the Fenway one right before that, that wasn't even any better. It's just, it's just such a waste. And I mean, it really does put the players at risk too. Like those stadiums are not meant to have football games being played in them. And I hate those games. Like I hate watching football be played in baseball stadiums. It's just, it doesn't seem right.
00:02:16
Speaker
Agreed, man. Yeah. So we

Titans' Game Plan and Draft Implications

00:02:19
Speaker
are going to speed run through this. um I really don't even want to talk about this game. I'm still not over it. We got to because the Titans definitely. I know, said but just okay. They they've worked out for them to move up in draft order, man. So, you know, me and Jordan were kind of, we we were, obviously we were in close comms last night during the the Falcons, you know, it's a lot to be happy about, but it was equally just as much to be frustrated about. I mean, and nothing else, dude. They didn't go out and freak Atlantic, egg right? They fought hard. They competed.
00:02:49
Speaker
I thought, you know, I thought, uh, Pinnix played pretty damn good. And the cool thing is there's still a ton of room for improvement. You know, it looked like, I think it was more miscommunication than it was him just straight up missing throws. There was a handful of straight up, just, you know, air balls. We saw it on that pick on the, uh, on the opening drives when they released it out. But a few times during the game, he kind of just, you know, either overthrew guys or we just throw into open space on the field where no one was that. So, you know, you think if, if he hits two or three of those big chunk plays, man, it's probably enough to get the win. So I think there was, if there's a silver lining, there was a lot to be hopeful for from what we saw.
00:03:24
Speaker
you know Obviously, he had his first start last week, but I think this was the first real big game that we've seen him play. And he looked like he was up to it, man. through a you know They had that disastrous Bijon fumbled snap. That could have deep-sixed him right there. And he didn't even blink, man. Goes down and does a touchdown pass to Kyle Pitts two plays later. Yeah.
00:03:41
Speaker
So, Pinnix did miss some throws. I hated the game plan in the second half. They just completely went away from Bijon and he was just absolutely destroying Washington in the first half. I loved the game plan in the first half. They mixed running pass really well.
00:03:55
Speaker
um I think me and Seth talking about it was beginning a season where I don't even know if he brought up in the episode, but me and Seth were talking about the difference between Bijon and Tyler Algier. There is a massive difference between those two running backs. Bijon is a generational running back. Like he is incredible. He's definitely stepped up big time across, especially towards like the second half of the season, man. He really

Penix vs. Morris: A Performance Debate

00:04:19
Speaker
just turned on. And like I said, he's, to me, he's right there in the tier with, uh, with Saquon Barkley and Derek Henry for, for best running back in the league. And he's definitely got the brightest future of any of those guys.
00:04:29
Speaker
I was happy with Penix. I just, I really felt like they put way too much on him in the second half and say whatever you want, man, besides the one pick and the couple overthrows, that dude played really well. The future is definitely bright for the Falcons. As far as the quarterback position, Penix is going to be a star. like I don't think there's any doubting that. I mean, some of the throws he made last night, dude, that throw to Kyle Pitts at the end of the game was not an easy throwing throw. He gunned it in there. Like yeah he, he definitely has it. Um, my biggest gripe out of this game is Raheem Morris. I said I hated this higher at the beginning of the season. I still hate it.
00:05:05
Speaker
The dude doesn't call offensive or defensive plays. Like his job is to keep the team in order and clock management and he cannot manage the clock to save his life. Took three timeouts into halftime. I still don't know what he was doing and at the end of the first half. Like, dude, you have three timeouts and they're like, oh, they just wanted to make sure they were the last ones to have the ball.
00:05:25
Speaker
No, your number one goal should have been trying to score a touchdown dude. 21 seven is completely different than 17 seven. Like, I don't know. And then the end of the game, I have no fucking idea what he was thinking. And his, his response to it after the game was probably could have called the timeout there. And then he's like, I just wanted us to get to the line fast. First of all, it's a rookie quarterback who's playing in his second game ever. They gave him no first team reps all year until last week. Like,
00:05:55
Speaker
I don't know, man. I just, I'm so over humor. I know they're not going to fire him. I don't, I don't got an issue with, uh, with not calling the timeout, but you got to make sure on the front end of that, dude, that you got to communicate it in the huddle prior to that. Like, Hey guys, we're going to run this play and we're, we're not calling, you know, make sure every player on the field knows, Hey, we're not calling timeout. We're going to haul ass and run a second play. But it seemed like the players weren't really sure what was going on either. And they're kind of, I mean, they,
00:06:21
Speaker
It was a hurry up, but it wasn't like fire drill. Like let's, let's run this next place as quick as we can. And you saw it, you know, those seconds were precious, man. Like if they get the ball, you know, seven, eight or nine yards closer, um they're probably, you know, still in control of their own destiny to go to the playoffs, man. It was, it was criminal though, dude. Like if the moment he saw that the offense wasn't hauling ass, moving as fast as possible, you got to call that time out, man. We saw it's very, very similar to the, uh, the, the bears game on Thanksgiving, man. It was probably the closest parallel that we've seen this season.
00:06:50
Speaker
My, my other big gripe about this game, and this

Falcons Game Officiating Issues

00:06:53
Speaker
has been a gripe of ours all season is the officiating. It's just not consistent at all. The first half, I think the ah Washington got called for, I don't know, six or seven holding calls and it could have been more than that. Second half, they got called for one and they were down two linemen. They were literally like obviously holding every play. Judon kept getting the edge on whoever the left tackle was. And he was, he was putting his arm around his neck, every play. And they called one holding on the second half. I just,
00:07:20
Speaker
I don't know, man. I know the NFL doesn't want there to be a a million flags. I get it. But dude, like when it's blatant, you have to call it. I just um it's just frustrating to watch as a fan. Just there's no consistency to what they call it all. And it just gets frustrating. But I thought to me, man, I thought just.
00:07:38
Speaker
unbiased, man. I thought the rest are doing everything they could to keep the Falcons in the game, dude. I mean, looking at the stats right now, dude, the Redskins had 13 penalties for over a hundred yards, whereas the Falcons had four for 25, man. Like, yeah. And it should have been more like, dude, if you were like really paying attention to like the Redskins offensive line, whatever, commanders, whatever their name or dude, they, somebody from the Falcons was breaking through every play. Like the pressure was working. And I, I thought the exact opposite. I thought the third quarter, like them not throwing flags on Washington is what kept them in the game. And then on third and 22, they call that bullshit like a legal contact. That was pretty weak, man. That was one of the weak backbreaking. I mean, that literally changed the game. Like, dude, if they have to punt that next down, like, I mean, who's to say that they even get their offense going at all? I mean, that really did spark their offense at that point. So I don't know.
00:08:30
Speaker
I had a feeling this was going to happen. Like I, I, I told Seth all week, I was not going to get my hopes about the Falcons winning, but I mean, you're obviously a fan. You obviously locked in on game day and you you just want your team to win. 10 point lead at halftime, dude. It was, it was just really frustrating to lose. And like I said, there was just a lot of errors that should have been avoided. And I mean, now you're going to week 18, just praying the bucks lose, which I don't think there's any chance the saints are completely tanking. I mean, they just got blown out by ah the Raiders yesterday. So I just
00:09:04
Speaker
I don't know, man, just so another ah lost season and a season that shouldn't have been lost. There's a lot of things they could have done. We'll do our, we'll do wrap up next week, obviously about Falcons and Titans, but this just feels like a completely wasted season. Like there was an opportunity there for this team to do something and get a home playoff game. And there it's just not going to happen. so schedule, man. Like, yeah, dude, I think really going back to the off season, I feel like he should have either. Obviously Kurt didn't work out. There was no way to know how that he was going to hit the slump of his life mid season, but I think he needed to go. You're right. We'll save her for next week, man. We'll do the whole post. We'll do our post. It's a lot though, man. Yeah. Yep. All right. Let's talk barely about the Titans and then we'll move on.
00:09:49
Speaker
I mean, i i like, what is there really to say about this team at this point? Somebody did say yesterday that this team has no direction. They spent all that money in the off season, which I kind of agree with because it's like they spent money to say they were doing something, man. Like what are they going to do at this point, though? I mean, they have to draft a quarterback, obviously, right? I don't know, dude. I think you got to.
00:10:13
Speaker
You got to let the scouts do what they do. Dig in deep on, on cam board and shoot door. And if you don't think either one of those guys is like a straight up block though, I'm kind of cool with going meat and potatoes, man. I know it's boring, dude. It's not the exciting thing to do, but, um, you know, I mean, dude, look around the league, take a flyer on somebody for, you know, 10 mill a year and see if they hit. Look at what Baker may fail. Look what Sam Darnold are doing this season, man. I don't,
00:10:36
Speaker
Those high draft picks are so valuable and it's such a setback and I'm not, I like Shador, man. i I would be excited if they got him. But if I'm a GM, I'm thinking long and hard about you know potentially blowing the number two pick on the draft on either one of those two quarterbacks, man. I don't think either one of them are a lock. I agree with you.
00:10:56
Speaker
I don't know, man, the Titans are just in a really weird spot now because like we just said, they did spend all that money in the off season and it looked like they had a direction and it did not work at all. I just, I feel like- There's so much decay on the level of talent, dude. And Rabel kind of masked it for those last couple of years. Cause he was, he's the man at like, you know, cleaning out the fridge night, right? Whatever leftovers you got, you know, he's going to make a meal out of it, dude, and have them playing their best. And I think his coaching,
00:11:23
Speaker
and just the style of football they were playing kind of masked some of the overall talent level that they're missing, man.

Titans' Direction and Offseason Spending

00:11:29
Speaker
And it's just, yeah, it's not not a whole lot to be hopeful about, man. Luckily, it's the NFL rebuilds can happen pretty quickly. But if you're asking me to like grab, you know, what what straws to grasp onto to have a lot of hope one in the next season, it's not a whole lot.
00:11:43
Speaker
Yeah, it's unfortunate, but yeah, we'll see what they do. um We'll go a little speed around through these um Christmas day games. Dude, I hope they never do this shortened week again where they're playing on Wednesday. Those games were miserable. again it Neither game was even close the entire time. yeah it It was just, it was miserable football. I felt honestly felt bad by the end of the first quarter for the Texans. You could just tell there was nothing going to happen in that game for them. um Chiefs obviously one clinched the number one seed, nothing surprising there. The Saturday window of football games I thought was actually it pretty good. That Broncos and Bengals was a low key banger, dude.
00:12:24
Speaker
Yeah, and then the the night game was really good. It was close. I mean, it was a boring game, but it was really close. So you can't ask for much more than that. ah Early window on Sunday was just blowout city. stevede Probably the worst Sunday morning of football we've had all season, I'd say. I'd argue that was the worst Sunday of football all season. It killed it that there was so many games Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday. yeah So I didn't love that. um Minnesota, man, we have to talk about Minnesota. like
00:12:56
Speaker
How much longer are you going to doubt this team bro? Like, I mean, like we talked about last week when you picked green bales, like, I don't know how much longer you can doubt this team. Like Darnell. They're good, man. I just, I really cannot, in my mind, I cannot envision them winning the NFC, man. Maybe if they go out and beat Detroit on Sunday, maybe I'll start to believe, but I just, I give this team the slimmest of chances, making it out of the and NFC playoffs, man. I do with respect to the great season they've had this year. I just did to me, playoff football is different, man. and I just feel like I've seen the story a lot where you got guys like Sam Darnold didn't come playoff time. You know, the, the stage coach shares back into a pumpkin, dude, and you end up seeing why they've been a, they bounced around, you know, four teams in four years. Dude, Kevin O'Connell has the highest winning percentage of any coach in one score games coach history.
00:13:42
Speaker
That dude is a great coach. He should get coach of the year. I think, I mean, nobody had Minnesota doing this, this season. Like I think everybody thought Minnesota was just going to be a mid team, like a seven to nine win team at best and what he's done with this team. And dude, Sam Darnell will, when we do a weekly, when we do a yearly wrap up next year, we'll talk about it. but They gotta pay him. I mean, yeah, I think it's it's a lock at this point you at least I think maybe do something similar to like the deal Baker Mayfield got, you know Maybe like a three-year deal or something But you got your idea at this point. It's undeniable They got to bring him back at least for next season man, and you got an awesome insurance policy with ah JJ McCarthy still waiting in the wings but
00:14:24
Speaker
Yep. All right. So for this week, all we've got to be interested in is obviously the number one seed in the NFC. We get Detroit and Minnesota Sunday night for the

Playoff Scenarios and Team Analysis

00:14:35
Speaker
number one seed or the number five seed for the loser. Good Lord, dude. We're going to have a 14 win team. That's going to end up getting the five seed. It's just,
00:14:43
Speaker
And I play a tough Buccaneers team, dude, like that's not going to be an easy game to bucks. I mean, dude, like it's kind of it's flown to the radar because they had kind of like ah a shitty stretch there for about a month in the middle of the season. Dude, Baker Mayfield, listen to this man, I had to double check this stat when I saw it come across Twitter because I was like, no, there's no way that's true. He is second in the NFL and touchdown passes, second in passing yards and second in completion percentage. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, dude, I mean, they've thrown the ball a ton this year. It's.
00:15:10
Speaker
I mean, it's impressive what they've done. Yeah, if the Falcons won't be, you know, they're much improved with with Pinnix and they're also, and not that that's going to be an easy game, but if the Bucks end up winning the NFC South, that's going to be a very tough matchup for either the Lions or the Vikings to have to go play.
00:15:24
Speaker
Yeah. Um, so you've got that, you've got the NFC South with the books and the Falcons, like we just mentioned, and then you've got the last playoff spot in the AFC between Cincinnati, Miami, and Denver. Denver wins, they're automatically in. If Denver loses and Miami wins, they're in. Cincinnati needs the most help. Cincinnati needs Denver and Miami to lose. I don't think it's gonna, dude, Miami plays the Jets who honestly look like one of the worst football teams in the history of the NFL.
00:15:53
Speaker
And the Broncos are going to be playing the number twos for, for Kansas city, which I get it, dude. It's Kansas city still, but if Denver can't beat the second string with their defense of Kansas city, I, they don't deserve to be in the playoffs. So if I, if you put a gun to my head, I'd say Denver gets the last playoffs. Well, I think so too, man, as much as I hate to say it, Sean Payton is a pretty good coach. You know, they had the chiefs dead to rights in Arrowhead earlier this season. They got by on the freaking block field.
00:16:19
Speaker
on the last play of the game. So yeah, that Broncos getting in is definitely the safe bet. and The Bengals would be the most fun though, man. Like it's really a bummer, dude, that this team had such an awful start. Dude, go back to week one, man. That week one game against the Patriots deal where they somehow lost to the Patriots who were kind of right there with the Titans for least talented roster in the league, man. They let the Patriots beat them. That's going to end up keeping them out of freaking playoffs, man.
00:16:41
Speaker
Yeah, it's, it's unfortunate, man. I just, I said it like after like four weeks, I just, since today's defense was just always going to be there. And that's what, I mean, that was the reason they were foreign aid is because they couldn't stop anybody. It was never on burrow in the office. They had phone Nixon and freaking Marvin Mims Jr. Looked like freaking Peyton Manning and and Reggie Wayne out there on Sunday, like they're on Saturday,

Bengals' Future and Retention Concerns

00:17:05
Speaker
man. like it it you know the Broncos have had a solid season, but I don't think they've been an explosive team at all on ah offense, but even they were carving the Bengals right up.
00:17:14
Speaker
Yeah. I just, it sucks for the bangles. And now, I mean, I don't know what they do. Like T Higgins is going to get paid number one receiver money. I mean, the, the game he had on Saturday against a really good defense is he's going to get paid. So this is probably the last time we're going to get to see those three together this weekend. So still, still hold no hope, man. I hope they find a way to keep him, dude, like go, go. They'll got to keep bringing up the Colts again, dude. Just go with the, uh, that the mid 2000s Colts blueprint, just make a strength of strength and just keep doubling down on offense and hope you can patch work on defense with draft picks. Yeah, the problem is that's what they tried this year and it failed miserably. Like they try to patch work defense and it clearly isn't going to work. Like, dude, if you can't stop anybody, it doesn't matter how great your offense is. I agree with you. The Colts were great. They were also really well coached. I just don't think Zach Taylor's there as far as coaching.
00:18:08
Speaker
So defense can be very volatile from year to year also, man. Like you could have ah a great defense one year and they kind of fall off the next season and vice versa. I think, you know, a couple of draft picks or a couple of choice, you know, mid level or low level free agent acquisitions could, could get the defense where they're at least playing an average. Cause they can just, they don't gotta be great. They can just get the average. I think the Bengals will be fine, man. I worry more about It's straight up chronic at this point, man. These slow starts they've gotten off to three straight years, which is just, you know, they're just digging themselves out of a hole, man. Like I'm, to me, that's the thing that if I'm the Bengals ownership, I'm looking at, you know, the coach kind of side eyed. It doesn't seem like there's much of a, a hot seat for him right now. And we know the Bengals, they're a team that traditionally
00:18:48
Speaker
They don't like to fire coaches. So it feels like he's probably gonna be safe But but dude, I'm right there with you man. Like this team had too much talent regardless of how the defense has been There's still too much talent on this team for them to need a freaking a wing and a prayer to get in the playoffs Yeah, it's it's pretty sad. But um yeah, that's it. We can ah go ahead and move on. All right. Let's hit before we get into our week 17 picks, man. Let's pick these college football playoff games, dude. Hell yeah. All right. So first up, we got on Tuesday night, tomorrow night, as you guys are as we're recording this, um it's going to be Penn State and Boise State out in Phoenix in

College Football Playoff Predictions

00:19:25
Speaker
the Fiesta Bowl.
00:19:26
Speaker
um I'd love to see Boise State do it, man, but and I don't know. Penn State, I've been pretty impressed with Penn State over the last month of the season, man. I think they're going to go to handle their business. Yeah, I'm with you, man. I would have liked to see Boise State win this game, but I just feel like Penn State's too much for them. I don't think they cover, man. That 11 point spread's heavy. I do think Boise covers.
00:19:47
Speaker
I don't think Boise is going to be able to score enough points is going to be the biggest problem. Like this is by far the best defense they're going to play all year. I just, I have a bad feeling this game gets out of hand in the first half. I just, I, I hope I'm wrong and I hope Boise shows up and plays really well. I just, I don't see it happening. All right. Going to Wednesday, Texas and Arizona state in the peach bowl.
00:20:11
Speaker
I do think Texas is going to win. um I don't know if it's going to be by the spread, but I definitely think they're going to win. I feel like they're one of the best five teams in the country, even if they haven't showed it a lot.
00:20:23
Speaker
um It's just dude Arizona State is gonna have to overcome so much to win that game Texas guys They're right there with Ohio State for like straight up most talented team. Yeah. Yeah, I'm with you man. I think Texas wins again, though I don't think they cover man at 13-point spread. That's a ton dude Arizona State was playing really good down the stretch and dude Cam Scadibo is a straight-up dog, dude I just do not see him letting his team lose by 13 points. I agree All right, game of the week going to be Wednesday afternoon, Ohio State in Oregon at the Rose Bowl. Classic Big Ten Pac-12 matchup, man. Like, you know, this this would have been a huge game on its own 15 years ago, man. But it's part of the playoff now.
00:21:05
Speaker
I'm going Ohio State, bro. They just got the balls. um I think Ohio State gets revenge. It seems like they they let all of the hate that they got after that Michigan loss just get inside them and fuel them, man. The kind of hate that gets you out of bed in the morning is what they are powered with right now. And I did. I think they're going to go and get get the ducks, man. I think they're going to catch the ducks flat-footed and knock them out.
00:21:27
Speaker
I don't. I seriously do think Oregon played like the best team all year. And the fact that they get this game is kind of shitty for them. What is the underdog, dude? That's what I was just about to say. I think Oregon's going to take that as disrespect. And I think they're going to come out and I think they will play their best game of the year.
00:21:44
Speaker
dude, if you go back and look at just like stats and in that game that they played earlier in the season, Ohio state outside of the turnover is nearly played a perfect game. I mean, they had almost 500 yards of offense and still lost. I think Oregon comes out and plays piss off football bowl and I think they win. It's going to be a close game either way. I mean, I wouldn't be shocked if Oregon or Ohio state one, but I do. I think Oregon is just the best team. I think they've played like it all year and I think it'll continue on.
00:22:12
Speaker
when it's It's going to be a good game. And then another one that I think could be sneaky, good, probably a different way. I don't think this one's going to be as explosive as I think Ohio State Oregon could turn into a shootout. I think this next one's going to be ah more of a defensive slugfest, man. i You know, I'm going to go Notre Dame, dude. I think Notre Dame has been playing great, absolutely outstanding since that loss to Northern Illinois. so And ah Georgia has got Roanoke the backup quarterback, man. If Carson Beck was playing, I'd probably feel a little bit differently. But I see Notre Dame scraping by a low scoring game in this one.
00:22:42
Speaker
I do too, man. I just don't trust this backup quarterback from Georgia. I mean, I already had my reservations about Carson Beck, but their offense without him. I just, I don't know, man. I know this just Georgia quarterbacks that's going to play is going to show more than he showed in the, the Texas game, but d it's tough you dade I know. And you kind of saw what he is in that game. I just, I think Notre Dame's a better team with the, the current construction. If Carson Beck was playing, I would pick Georgia.
00:23:10
Speaker
um But yeah, don't I just don't feel good about George's offense with the backup quarterback. I'm interested to see what if Carson bat clock crawls back into the conversation with ah with Shador and cam Ward man for top quarterback drafted this offseason all the NFL draft Counts of stuff that

Quarterback Quality in Upcoming Draft

00:23:29
Speaker
I follow on Twitter. They've all been glazing him all season even with the turnovers and stuff man They say like you gotta look beyond it dudes been balling out and NFL scouts are still gonna go nuts for him. I and he's definitely got the size. So, I mean, it and dude, to be quite honest with you, we we already talked about Shador and Cam Warder earlier. I don't think any, either one of those guys is a can't miss prospect. I mean, this is, this is a bad year to have the number one pick, unless you're picking Travis Hunter, which I do think he's going to be really good. but
00:23:58
Speaker
ah dad As far as the quarterbacks go, I think it's a complete crapshoot this year. Like, dude, you could seriously put any of the quarterbacks that were in the 2024 draft in this draft. And I think any of those guys go number one over these guys. Yeah. Especially after with the way we saw them all play.
00:24:13
Speaker
Cam's got that funky playing style that you just you do. You really have no idea how it's going to translate to the pros. I think should or it's going to be safe. I don't think should or is going to be a disaster, but I could totally see him just being like, you know, as middle of the road, as middle of the road gets. You know what I mean? I don't know if he's going to be a guy that kind of elevates a team and and, you know, make some instant Super Bowl contender. Yeah, I agree. um But yeah, it'll be interesting. All right. Let's get into our week 18 picks.
00:24:52
Speaker
Yeah. All right. How do we do last week, Jordan? I didn't even tally it up, but you won by two games. So whatever that is. Sorry, it's 8-4-4. All right. Let's get into this last week. All right. We're going to go speed around because we're running short. So Jordan, I'll call it out. You just tell me which team's winning. Brown's Ravens.
00:25:13
Speaker
ah Ravens same bangle Steelers I'll say the Bengals win It's interesting that they put this game are the steel the Ravens clinch the division, right? Nope, the Ravens have to win. So the Ravens have to win. Oh, hold on The Steelers need to win also because the Steelers can get the five seed with the win and going to play at Houston Is much better than having to go play at Baltimore. So this is a meaningful game for Pittsburgh I'm looking at the schedule. I don't know why they put the Ravens first man. The Ravens play at 330 on Saturday. The Steelers play at seven. Like if anybody from the league offices, listen, it's not too late to flip flop that. Let's do it. Both of the teams in the night game are both in playoff contention. That's why they did it.
00:25:56
Speaker
Cleveland's ah a no. Yeah, that makes sense, dude. I guess you know for a fact the Ravens are steamrolling them many anyways. And like you said, stealing stuff, something to play for to get the 5C. Okay. ah Titans, Texans. Who'd you pick for that game you didn't pick? I'm going to go Bengals, man. I think Bengals get it done and keep alive for at least one more day.
00:26:12
Speaker
All right, rolling into Sunday. Texans, Titans, I think the Titans will definitely win this game because they like to inflict pain on their fans. And, you know, I'm sure I don't know exactly what it is. Jordan could probably give me the specifics, but I'm sure they're going to jump from like the second pick down to like the seventh pick if with a win. And they already kicked the Texans ass in Houston earlier this season. So.
00:26:32
Speaker
I also don't think the Texans are going to play anybody in this game. They have no reason to. They're already locked into the four seeds. So I agree with you. Tennessee wins. so But we'll let us back in. All right. Panthers, Falcons, Falcons. Yeah, Falcons, Saints, Bucks, Bucks are going to win as much as I would like to see New Orleans win. It's such a New Orleans thing. Just go out there and get hammered by Tampa Bay to screw Atlanta. No, I'm going Saints, man. They're going to, they're going to rise up and do it. Yes, man. You got to hope, dude. If you don't have hope, what do you got?
00:27:01
Speaker
A Falcons fan, that's what you got. Buffalo in New England, in New England. New England. Yeah, same. I think Drake May has a nice little game there. Jags and Colts. Jags. Dude, did we I should have brought this up. Did you see Pat McAfee just absolutely new for the Colts franchise? right If I'm Anthony Richardson, I'm swinging on Pat McAfee next time I see him. There's no way you could let that stand, dude. Bro.
00:27:30
Speaker
Anthony Richardson is the only one? Like, holy shit, dude, he literally just demolished that entire franchise. He's the one he individually called out by name, but yeah, if you haven't, go check it out. It looks like a lot, but it's a pretty quick read, and he just straight up eviscerates from top to bottom, dude. Yeah. I'm going Jags as well, sorry. All right, commanders and cowboys. Washington. Yeah. Giants and Eagles. Giants.
00:27:59
Speaker
Bears. I'm going to say if I got anything different, I think we're pretty much going to be in lockstep. um You're taking the Giants too. Yeah, yeah. I think the Eagles, I think sake one plays the first half and now I think the second half it gets silly, dude. Like you said, these games are total toss up. We've seen all kinds of crazy outcomes. Cause one, you got, you don't know who I was playing. And then two, there's definitely teams over the years that it's like the last day of school. They just totally mail it in. And it's, ah it's pretty, it it starts to look kind of like the pro bowl towards the second half of some of these games, uh, bears and Packers, Packers, Seahawks, Rams.
00:28:32
Speaker
I'll say Seahawks just cause I don't think the Rams are going to play anybody either. Yeah. Uh, dolphins, jets, dolphins, dolphins. Yeah. Chiefs, Broncos, Broncos. I think chief's going to get it done, man. I think Andy really Carson, when it's going to cook something up, man. So by, by your metric, Miami gets into the playoffs.
00:28:52
Speaker
As of right now, no, if I could go back, I'm gonna take the dolphins to be safe. I'm rooting for the Bengals, I mean, my preseason Super Bowl pick was Bengals and Packers, man. No, you think they're Bengals, but Miami has to lose for the Bengals to get in. Yeah, yeah fire and I'll go Jets to Aaron Rodgers, last ever game in the NFL, possibly. He's gonna go out and swing him. He is not going out anywhere. He is horrible. All right, Chargers and Raiders.
00:29:22
Speaker
Chargers because they do have something to play for as well. Oh, if Pittsburgh wins on Saturday, they don't. I'm still going to go Chargers. All right. ah Forty Niners Cardinals. Forty Niners. Yes. And last but not least, the big one, Vikings and Lions in Detroit.
00:29:40
Speaker
Dude, I think Minnesota wins. I'm going Detroit, man. I feel like Detroit's got it. I feel like they're going to get it done. And it's got to just set up the ultimate heartbreak, man. I'm still sticking with they're losing the NFC championship on their home field. And to do that, they got to beat Minnesota on Sunday night. Going to be a hell of a game, though. Their first game from, I think that was week six, is your week five, week six, was one of the best games of the season. So I'm really, really excited. Detroit also had their entire defense at that point. They have nobody left now. I am extremely worried about Detroit at this point. Yeah. theyve They've played so damn hard, man, it's come back to bite them, dude. They've just been wrecked with injuries over the last ah less's five, six weeks. Okay. All right, let's get into Million Dollar Bets.
00:30:33
Speaker
we that We're officially in the no huddle ah offense part of the show. I told you guys we got a hard out We split our bets last week, dude It's gonna be a good million dollar bets for the the playoffs this year, man We're basically a dead heat Jordan's got a hundred and one thousand dollar lead, which as you guys know is nothing for us I'll do roll out for my two bets first. So don't got the numbers yet I'm gonna put a hundred thousand on each Jordan will get me the actual winnings later on this week, but I'm going with that Eagles win plus Saquon Barkley covering the the rushing record. I think it's 101 yards. I think he needs to break Eric Dixon's record and I'm going with a bucks win plus Mike Evans 85 or more receiving yards. So he keeps a streak of a thousand yard seasons alive. All right.
00:31:16
Speaker
I'm going with ah Patriots plus three against the Bills Giants plus three and a half against the Eagles and Titans minus four against the Texans. Let's go. $100,000 bet wins $669,048. Go big or go home. The second one I'm doing dolphins money line Broncos money line and Packers money line. $150,000 will play $390,141.
00:31:41
Speaker
All right, so we'll see where the standings are at before we hit the playoffs. you know That's when the big money starts rolling in, which will be down to just 13 NFL games left after this week, man. Thank you guys for sticking with us for an awesome regular season. The best is yet to come. And we're looking forward to bringing the playoff action to you. Jordan hit us with some closing thoughts. I hope you guys all had a great Christmas and let us be the first to wish you a Happy New Year. See you next year.
