Introduction & Birthday Shoutouts

00:00:01
Speaker
Welcome to Wine Mama, a podcast where two bestie moms whine while they whine. I'm Jemina. And I'm Annie. Let's whine. But before we whine, it's a big happy birthday. Shout out to our IT man.
00:00:19
Speaker
Ben! I'm
00:00:23
Speaker
did not know what your segment was going to be, but that was perfect, you guys. Yes, happy birthday to Ben. This is coming out on Ben's birthday. So happy your birthday to Ben, who is our IT guy and demands to be credited on every episode, even though he doesn't help us on every episode.

Magic Makers & Parenting Challenges

00:00:40
Speaker
He wants his name out there, so we're going to put it out there. Well done. That was so good. ah You know, we have to think about our segues. I'm like, what can I say? then I was like, wait a second. I've got just the ticket.
00:00:52
Speaker
It's Ben's birthday tomorrow. That was perfection. That was perfection. And it's sad that he'll probably never listen to it because he probably doesn't listen to us. Stop it. Well, he better. He better for his birthday recognition.
00:01:04
Speaker
So his birthday is today. My dad's birthday is tomorrow. Aubrey's birthday was a few days ago. We've got, listen, October is a busy month. Once it hits October 1st, I blackout. Like I'm overwhelmed over a simulated city.
00:01:18
Speaker
I mean, I signed up for it. I'm not going to lie. Like i sure. yeah I can't say no. I i was telling Annie earlier, like I just can't say no because it's just like holiday fun, birthday fun, like all the things that are just like the most joyous things in life. Like we're the magic makers for everything.
00:01:33
Speaker
And so we take it on. Right. And then of course there's events and birthday parties and everything. And you just can't say no because again, you're a magic maker and you And you just make it work. And, but yeah, I, I work out. It's the most, yes. It's the most fun time of year for the kids and for like you as a family, but like it's the, it has the most fun activities fall through all the way through Christmas. There's like, you're always busy. So.
00:01:56
Speaker
How are the kids? What have you guys been up to? oh same old, same old. Let's see. What have we been up to? What have not we not been up to? So, of course, I just want you guys to know, as we mentioned, it is Ben's birthday. And Ben is very if you know anything about Ben, this is something you should know. He is very much into celebrating his birthday.
00:02:15
Speaker
I want to say ah i give him a week, but he is like a month-long type of guy. I'm like, your birthday is your birthday, okay? Like, I'm not lying, you guys. He sent me a calendar invite. And he blocked off this week.
00:02:27
Speaker
It just says Ben's birthday. I'm like, no, no, no. So we, this past weekend, we went to Universal Studios and on some adventure and we celebrated him on that day. That was his event. And then of course we'll like do dinner whatever tonight for his birthday.
00:02:44
Speaker
But um yeah, it was fun. Kiddos are doing great. Kiddos are kiddoing. They're in schedule, routine, school, after school activities, weekend activities, mode.
00:02:58
Speaker
Avery is Avery-ing per usual. You guys, she is loving soccer so far, which I love for her, but she is the most girly girl, soccer girl out there. like Half the time, she either has a doll with her running or she's doing little dances. like She'll kick the ball and she'll celebrate with a dance. I'm like, no, you kick the ball and you run.
00:03:15
Speaker
You kick the ball and you run. Okay. We continue the game. This is not dance and soccer together. This is just soccer. 1000%. Or she'll sit there. This past weekend, it was the twirl of the hair. She just walked around twirling her hair, holding her hair and her ponytail, which made her hair look like a mess. Like she looked like a monster at the end of it because it was all of her craziness.
00:03:37
Speaker
um And then Beckett's, he's, he is loving flat football. You guys, I think because he's like one of the oldest in the age group, um it's giving him that confidence that he can do it. Like he runs, he blocks, like he loves it. Yeah. And so I love to see that, um, for him and I'm going to brag on him, but he's doing so good in school too. He's gotten a hundred percent all three of his math tests.
00:04:02
Speaker
Um, so he's really good at math. You guys, I have a story though. Oh God. Oh Well, congratulations to him, but what's the story? You're going to laugh. You're going to laugh.
00:04:14
Speaker
And you know what mom shamers out there, I probably deserve the shame of what I'm about to express, but you know what? It's also probably a mom hack. So you're welcome. But as you all know, English is not my first language.
00:04:26
Speaker
Oh God. Oh God. I was like, where is this going? This is not my first language. So I'm just going to put it out like that. Okay. But he gets homework every week and it's like easy homework. So it's basically these like stories and he has to be able to read the story himself.
00:04:41
Speaker
And then he draws a picture of what explains the stories, but he has to highlight Short vowel sounds. Do you know what a short vowel I don't know. I honestly don't know. um We're all on the same page here.
00:04:55
Speaker
Basically, Beckett has told me I need to take first grade again is where it has led to to, be honest.

Puerto Rico & Pop Culture Highlights

00:05:00
Speaker
Would it be like when an a like an a long vowel be like A is an A, but A would be a short vowel?
00:05:06
Speaker
Correct. Oh, hey, yes. Yes. So he has to highlight until like, it'll be like highlight short, all the short A vowels or then just highlight short vowels in general, every single one. And I'm like,
00:05:19
Speaker
And he'll be the isn't, mom. And I'm like, okay. i'm You guys, I'm opening ChatGPT and I'm typing out every single word that's in these long stories. And I'm asking ChatGPT to tell me what is a short vowel and what is not. Because I do not know. i do not know. Again, this English is not my first language. So I i i didn't learn this. like right I don't know. And ChatGPT, sure enough, he's like not a problem. And ChatGPT will literally list out every single word that I've typed in and will say, yes, no.
00:05:50
Speaker
the little green check mark or the red yes it's like embarrassing to admit because i can't help him with his homework but like it you guys i okay i'll admit that we've done a couple with some of the math problems because it's like the new way of doing math freaking cuckoo bonkers when it's like these subtraction fact table or it's like This person has five more than this person and they had three. What's the answer? Show us how you got there. I'm like, I don't know.
00:06:17
Speaker
Five plus three equals eight. That's how we got there. We added the two numbers together. Like it is just so wild to me. The stuff that I'm seeing her writing on her paper and like how she's having to figure things out, like how an addition like problem will help her solve a subtraction problem. And I'm like, no, she just subtracts and gets the number. Like I'm confused.
00:06:39
Speaker
Like, who can I speak to? Who came up with this stupid math? Who can I speak to? Why? And why? Like, I don't get the why. I'm so glad you brought that up because that is also another thing that I'm struggling with.
00:06:51
Speaker
And I had a message his teacher because ah he's he can do it in his head. And I'm like, I think on your test, she's asking for you to show how to do it. Like, she wants to see how you got to the answer. and Right.
00:07:04
Speaker
And so I had a literally muscular situation. I'm like, does he have to show how to, and she's like, yes, like part of the test is they need to be able to show me. And I'm like, okay, but he just added it. Like, he just knows, like he's smart. Like, I don't know what to tell you. Like, is he going to get to that point? Yeah.
00:07:16
Speaker
Why do we have to show? Like, you have to show. And then he had like a bubble system where he puts like, I don't know. He has learned everything. Do you know know? It's like a diagram and the numbers in there and then you come up with this kind of like you said, Timmy has nine.
00:07:31
Speaker
Lisa has five fewer than Timmy. How many did Timmy have? And I'm like, what? I thought Timmy had nine. Like I. I hate you guys. And then Susie comes into the picture. Where did she come from?
00:07:43
Speaker
Where did she come from? Who invited her? And why she here? Like the party was only for two people. Like yeah yeah it's hard. And this is first grade. And I'm really scared ah as it continues on.
00:07:54
Speaker
I know. I'm like, this is just the beginning. Like this is just the beginning. And it is so scary to be a parent. Because then when she's like, when, because Greg usually will like, when she comes home, Greg will sit down and start helping her with homework.
00:08:05
Speaker
Um, cause I'm still working. And then Greg sometimes is someone, he goes back in the office and she's like, mommy, can you help me with this? I'm like, um, um, I don't know if I can. um when daddy's off his meeting, he can help you.
00:08:17
Speaker
Yeah. Like mommy's mommy, mommy can't say that she doesn't know how to do that, but she doesn't know how to do that. Yeah. So not necessarily kid stories. on my end as far as that it's a kid it's a kid's story for myself because i am I am the child when it comes to helping with homework but nonetheless what's going on over there what's new what's the hot goss I know we've got i know you just celebrated a birthday with Aubrey but we also have another upcoming birthday in November yeah know like we said once it hits October 1st we all black out but how's the pile fam how the how the children over there are doing
00:08:54
Speaker
Um, the children are busy. The parents are busy. We got back from Puerto Rico last weekend. It was so wonderful. So beautiful. I still cannot believe that it's somewhere that you can go in the United States and it feels like you're completely in like another like, yeah, country like it was so I i can't get enough of it. As you know, I've messaged you multiple times telling me my obsession with Bad Bunny. Now, I've always like enjoyed his music, but I'm someone who I sing when I, when I hear music and I'm like working or in the car, like I am a singer to my music and I don't know Spanish. I do not.
00:09:32
Speaker
And so I just could never listen to Bad Bunny because I'm like, I like the beat, but like, I like to sing. I'm not a good singer, but i like to just, yeah. like feel music like you are upline yeah And that's all they listen to because he obviously he's in Puerto Rico. He just finished up his residency there like not too long ago. yeah.
00:09:49
Speaker
Everyone is listening to him, like all the Ubers, all the restaurants, all everywhere. And so i now I'm obsessed with Bad Bunny. And I have to learn all of his music by the time the Super Bowl comes around. So, yeah. no and Anywho, yeah I mean, I'm a big fan. I know you are too.
00:10:06
Speaker
Yeah. Love Bad Bunny. Love him. Bad Bunny. So any Bad Bunny. um So we were Bad Bunny. Now he's Italian. He went from being Puerto Rican. He just made him Italian.
00:10:16
Speaker
Yeah. No, we asked you, like, how do you say, how do you say money? They're like, bad bony. We were like, okay, bad bony. Bad bunny. Bad bunny. I'm dead.
00:10:27
Speaker
So anyways, um so we did that. The kids are doing good. So, you know, we talked about it, Charlie being in soccer, Avery's in soccer. um I realized that I am the issue soccer practice. wow I'm the problem.
00:10:41
Speaker
So the first time we met, she didn't My presence, my being, my my my aura. I don't know what it is. Energy you're giving off. she's not Energy I'm giving off. I don't know.
00:10:52
Speaker
So the first time we went, she was so clingy, didn't want to do anything. And then the next time we went, it was like a lot of the same and like wasn't really listening, but she's like the best listener at school. Like the kid teacher's always like, oh no, like she is our number one helper. Like she cleans up so well. She's like such a great listener. And I'm like, okay,
00:11:10
Speaker
great. That's not her at home. But if she can do that at school, awesome. Well, she doesn't do that at soccer. Like she won't listen to them or she'll tell them no. When they ask her a question, it's just like, I don't know what to do. Well then.
00:11:24
Speaker
but Yeah. And then Greg took her one weekend. He was like she did great. And i was like, really? Okay. And the next weekend was, we were gone last weekend and my mother-in-law was here. My mother-in-law took her. She sent pictures. She was running left, like doing all the things.
00:11:36
Speaker
And then I took her this past weekend and she's like, doesn't want to let me go. She's crying in my arms. And I'm like, what is happening? Wasn't listening to her teachers. It wouldn't take their hand when they were trying. Wow. So we left. I said, thank you. I said, tell your coaches, thank you.
00:11:50
Speaker
And I said, I probably won't see you next weekend. I am the problem. i We have deduced that I am the problem. So it has been so lovely, but i you won't probably see me again, actually. We'll provide snacks. We'll sign up for snack day, but like it's not going to be, you won't see me ever again. You're not going to see me. You'll see my husband, but you're not going to see Me. It's been lovely, but you won't see me. I cannot show my face there.
00:12:12
Speaker
If you see someone in the parking lot with binoculars, binoculars happying tom it's me. Yes. Please do not call the cops. It's just me watching from afar, like afar, afar. Because we've been splitting. We've been dividing and conquering. So Kennedy does lacrosse.
00:12:26
Speaker
Greg went with lacrose to her to lacrosse this past weekend. And um she scored four goals. I was like, did you get any on video? Yeah. And i was like, did you get any on video?
00:12:37
Speaker
No. So got this word of word of I just got word of mouth. Men, men. He's like, yeah, no, that's on that's on me. Yeah, that's on me. I'm like, well, who the hell else would it be on? There was no other parent there.
00:12:51
Speaker
I wasn't questioning it. It was on you because yet yeah, it's on you. But you know what? Being able to admit it the first step. and It's the first step. It's the first step of the cycle.
00:13:03
Speaker
So and then she got player of the day or whatever for her little club. So she was very proud of herself. I think it like kind of boosted her confidence. um So she's she's doing great. And then Aubrey, I don't know if i told you guys, she took her SAT t for the first time. Obviously, but we don't have our scores back yet. But Yeah. She took her SAT for the first time. And that's when, you know, it's like, man, things are getting serious. We did a college fair. We've booked two college chores. So it's just like, it's so crazy to think that we're actually doing these things and they're very special things.
00:13:34
Speaker
But yeah, we've got, we got a lot going on, lot going on. love that. How does she feel

Fashion & Nostalgia

00:13:41
Speaker
about her SAT? Like, does she feel like it was hard? Like, what What was her feedback?
00:13:46
Speaker
She called us and was like, I didn't do it. I can tell you right now, I did not great. think that's how we all feel, though. Yeah. Yeah. And then they took like ah they took a PSAT late, like, a week, like, that next week or whatever at school. And she was like, I think I did better on my PSAT than my actual s SAT. t And i was like, can we just, like, switch the scores? Like, can we do something here? Can we switch the score? Yeah. I think it should count.
00:14:12
Speaker
Yeah. So, so anywho, a lot going on for both of us. So much. lot, a lot going on. So I feel like we should drink, start drinking this wine before we, before it starts getting warm. Yeah.
00:14:23
Speaker
Let's please whine with the wine of the week. Wonderful. And this week we are whining with, and I don't know and there's like an accent to this or a specific way to say this name,
00:14:39
Speaker
Erath. E-R-A-T-H, you guys. Pronounce it as you will. Maybe the T-H h is silent. E-R-A. I'm not But we are going to be whining and whining with the E-R-A-T-H Pinot Gris. I love that.
00:14:58
Speaker
Which I'm very excited.

Final Thoughts & Listener Engagement

00:15:00
Speaker
i have had this brand before. i'm went Back when I worked at Mayo Clinic a long time ago, one of my nurse practitioners gifted me the Pinot Noir of this brand. And I loved it. i thought it was really, really good for like a decent um price range of a Pinot Noir.
00:15:20
Speaker
And you guys, when we were looking this up, you won't believe what we discovered. but We discovered that it is an Oregon wine. So shout out if Sarah is listening, we're drinking Oregon wine.
00:15:34
Speaker
She might be cringing though, because if this is not like a preferred Oregon wine, she's probably like, no, this is not what I taught you. Oh my God. Okay. Maybe, maybe turn it off, Sarah. Yeah. Sarah, just turn it off here because you're probably, she's literally probably just shaking your head, laughing, drinking one of her nice, wonderful, hard but yeah this we haven't sipped it yet.
00:15:55
Speaker
We don't know what it could be like. So let's read a little bit more about, into it about E-Rath. So, At Erath, winemaking is about more than technique. It's a balance of heritage, curiosity, and precision.
00:16:09
Speaker
With over five decades of experience, they've helped shape the standard for Oregon wines, combining time-honored practices with a commitment to thoughtful evolution. Each vintage ah vintage of Erath wine is carefully crafted to reflect the nuance of the will um Willamette Valley and the integrity of the fruit.
00:16:28
Speaker
So this is, it's not just an Oregon wine. It is a Willamette Valley. It is, yeah. It's a damn it Damn it Willamette Valley. So we are is Sarah going to be sad with us?
00:16:43
Speaker
So we're see. We're going to see. We're going to you know what? We should text her and just be like, listen, we didn't know. But what are your thoughts? We should get her input. We should. We should. You know, we haven't even tasted this yet. We may taste this and be like, oh my God, this is amazing.
00:16:59
Speaker
And as a reminder to all, Pinot Grigio is not one of our top preferred white wine choices. We have found a couple. We have found a couple on this episode.
00:17:11
Speaker
um and not on this episode, on this podcast. On this podcast. Yes, on this podcast. ah So we'll see. We'll see if we can add this one to the ranks.
00:17:22
Speaker
We'll see. I don't want to, you know, every time I hype something up, I feel like it gets a little destroyed. But anyways, the Eola Amidi, Eola Amidi, is that a place? I'm guessing.
00:17:33
Speaker
Eola Amidi Hills. Of course I get the weird names. Appalachian. What? No, I, I draw. No, you're making me uncomfortable. It is the area.
00:17:45
Speaker
It is the area with within Willamette Valley. So the Eola. Okay.
00:17:52
Speaker
The Appalachian where this is grown... Okay, I'll continue on. I'll be brave....is one of the most renowned growing regions of the greater Willamette Valley.
00:18:03
Speaker
Their picturesque 298-acre hillside... acre hillside Here we go. welaa Willakia estate vineyard is planted to 19 acres of Chardonnay and 100 acres of Pinot Noir. compar come um I was going to compromise, but that does not say compromise.
00:18:22
Speaker
We're struggling. Compressed with multiple clones and rootstocks. 48 individual small blocks across different soil types, which we did learn wi in Willamette. I just say dammit and then I say Willamette.
00:18:38
Speaker
um there's different types of soils that make all the wine. So that's kind of interesting. um Different soil types, orientations, and elevations provide a broad array of fruit characteristics essential to crafting beautiful estate wines.
00:18:50
Speaker
Willakia is 100% sustainably farmed and certified by the Live and Salmon Safe Programs. Not sure why we're talking about salmons there, but I think it's like one big... It's the red flag.
00:19:05
Speaker
It's giving you...
00:19:10
Speaker
I'm kidding. I'm kidding. I think it's like one big organization and they probably, if I had to assume, they probably give sustainability practice, uh, awards or nominations to not only like vineyards and things like that, but maybe people who are like fishing involves producing fish. I don't know. I don't know. with Life nature. Well,
00:19:36
Speaker
Yeah, nature things. Nature things. It's giving nature. It's giving nature. Enticing aromas of fresh lemon, guava, and star fruit offer an energetic introduction to this wine.
00:19:48
Speaker
Vibrant flavors of mandarin, citrus, and white peach intertwined with tropical plumeria blossoms. A harmonious balance emerges with zesty acidity. complimenting warm, fruity undertones. Sorry, that was so choppy.
00:20:01
Speaker
Saying all those words together, I was like beep bop, beep bop. We can't even get like past the wide information, you guys. Like that's how like dead we are.
00:20:15
Speaker
um'm i'm It's giving a lot of sweetness, I will say. So I'm interested. I'm intrigued. I did not hear anything red flaggish besides the whole salmon thing, but we knocked that out real quick.
00:20:29
Speaker
um Yeah, i'm I'm interested, especially for the price range. The price range is very affordable. It was anywhere between like $14 to $18. Like it's depending where you buy it. And and this brand you can find pretty much want to say pretty much anywhere, but I know they do sell it at Publix. They sell at Total Wine. They sell it ABC Liquors.
00:20:49
Speaker
So a little wider variety versus like certain things that you just find in like a specialty um liquor store. Yeah. Yeah. All right. Are we ready to give this a try Let's do it.
00:21:02
Speaker
Pinot grig. You're right. Let's do it. Cheers. Cheers. cheers
00:21:23
Speaker
and know I don't mind it, but you know what mean? Like a wine just like... That tastes like a cheap wine. You know? you know i wasn't going to say that. i What I was going to say is that tastes like a headache tomorrow.
00:21:38
Speaker
is ah So same thing. Literally same thing. Literal same. Two different words, but same thing. we both We both know what we mean. Yeah. Like it tastes like a headache tomorrow, but it's like one of those, like if you're just like...
00:21:53
Speaker
continue and drinking, like you don't care about the headache that's going to approach you tomorrow. So I feel like that's that's where it's going. I'm afraid of that.
00:22:04
Speaker
And so we're just to have the one glass tonight. But it'll be a fun little glass to have because we're talking all about pop culture. one of our favorite episodes to do every season, you guys. We did one earlier this season. So we're going to some pop culture, starting with something we've kind of already...
00:22:22
Speaker
Actually, you know before I start into positive, we got to just do the sad news first. I was going to start with something positive. I'm like, no, we got to go sad first and then we can go an upward hill from there.
00:22:38
Speaker
Yeah. So there have been two really, really sad um deaths these past couple of weeks. And one was Jane Goodall, who we all know was ah the, what's the right word?
00:22:52
Speaker
I don't say like gorilla queen of apes. Yes. I don't want to say enthusiast, but like the, uh, she was the queen of apes. Yeah. She was like the queen of like concert. I think like conserving a conservation effort. So i just, I, I don't know how old she was, which is 90 something. She was in her nineties, maybe 90. Let me look it up.
00:23:16
Speaker
Wow. Let's check that real quick. I wrote a report on her in middle school. I loved Jane Goodall. like a aye little and also loved her because we shared a birthday, April 3rd. Shout out, Jane Goodall.
00:23:30
Speaker
But yeah, like i literally, she was, you guys, I was so excited in middle school, in middle school when I found her book and I noticed that you had to pick like an influence, like influential person, you know, in the library. And I saw she at the same birth was like, this chick is cool.
00:23:48
Speaker
She's one. That's my, and that's my influential person. She's the one. She was 91 years old, you guys. 90. That is crazy. 91. 91. She was born in 1934. The things this woman has seen.
00:24:01
Speaker
So many. And things that she has done for... um Just like, again, like, yeah, yeah. It's crazy. Specifically eight by chimpanzees. Yes, yes.
00:24:12
Speaker
um And then Diane Keaton, which is so sad. She was 79. seventy nine So when you said Jane Goodall, I'm like, how like I couldn't remember how old she was. 91. And Diane Keaton was 79. Like, that is just so sad i mean, you've seen her in everything. Like, she has been in.
00:24:29
Speaker
ah queen. cow A queen, yeah. A queen on the movie screen. Father of the Bride, you guys. If you have not watched Father of the Bride. First Wives Club, Annie Hall, like, all of her everything she touched and did was gold. Like, i something's got to give. I can keep going. Like, there's just so, so much good that she brought. And you can tell just by her death and the way that a lot of stars have spoken about her, she was genuinely probably the nicest, most pure actress out there. Like, just

so nice and kind and cared and like loved what she did and i i was so sad about that like when that news broke out I was like actually devastated I mean I was devastated for Jane Goodall too my birthday 20 but like Diane Keaton hit me like I instantly went and wanted to watch the first wives club the scene where Bette Midler, Goldie Hawn and her are in the white and just singing and dancing and I'm like
00:25:32
Speaker
unwell and i i don't want to know what happened like ah you know i'm um one of those nosy bitches that needs to know so like i know i haven't seen much but i think this one hit like a lot of people just because she is such a well-known movie star and you've seen a lot of the stuff um that she's been in so very sad to hear of both of them passing um but let's maybe switch to some like some things a little bit positive right Well, and on the brink on the brink of talking about death, though, I feel like we do need to give an honorable mention of something else that happened recently, I think, with this past week. Because the amount of people that texted me, sent videos message me messaged me.
00:26:17
Speaker
i First of all, thank you all for your thoughts and prayers for myself and my family in regards to this news. Because... The panic. but Yes. Dolly, you guys, not her sister tweeting out like she's on her deathbed. Like what's happening for her?
00:26:34
Speaker
yeah What are you doing, girl? I think something's wrong with maybe her. Like maybe she's got some issues. Please pray for Dolly. She's not well. And then the next day, Dolly like makes a video. She's like, Hey, y'all still here.
00:26:46
Speaker
like no the caption was the best. I ain't dead yet. The caption, she captioned her video. I ain't dead. It was kidney stones. You guys, she had kidney stones. She had wild.
00:26:58
Speaker
and What is Dolly Burton's sister's name? Isn't it Frida? I don't know. Right. It's something different. It's Frida. Frida Parton. Massive prayers for her health.
00:27:10
Speaker
And like, I get it, Frida, but the way that you worded it, my girl, like we all thought we lost, we were losing Dolly and like, we cannot afford that in 2025. We, know our souls cannot.
00:27:21
Speaker
It was giving like deathbed. It was giving like in the hospital deathled she's deathbed, she's got day like ah a day to live. Like it was very ominous. Very ominous. now I know and immediately a immediately thought of you guys and I was like,
00:27:34
Speaker
He's not right after Avery's birthday. Like, please don't do that. the Again, the amount, i I will have to go back and count them. i can probably say they were at least between like DMs, Facebook videos, and text messages. i probably got like 10 to 15, like so many. And then instantly they said then they they were sending me the follow-ups, right? Like Freed up tweets again, being like, my bad guys. That's not what I meant. Like I just meant she needed prayers for kidney stones type of vibe. And then Dolly, i ain't dead yet. Like she's a queen.
00:28:06
Speaker
Thank you so much, Dolly, for clarifying. like that show Yeah, you're good. We're good. Yeah. yeah Frida must be a middle child. And she just, you know, had that dramatic, needed that dramatic sense of moment. And you know what? She got the spotlight that she wanted.
00:28:21
Speaker
And I'm happy for her for that. You know, she wanted a little little taste of what that was. She got it. But don't put Dolly at risk. don't yeah Don't put that bad juju out there for Dolly. don't scare Don't scare her fans like that. Never again. Straight to jail. Straight to jail for Frida.
00:28:37
Speaker
Jail. Jail time. Jail time. 1000% you guys. Absolute jail time. And um yeah, so I feel like we had to mention that too. um You know, a little bit on a lighter note, but Dolly's well.
00:28:49
Speaker
Yes. Dolly is alive and well, and she is thriving. Dare I say thriving, but while we're in the country music realm, Okay, I thought we were done with bad, sad news. is dead. That's what I'm going to preface this with is love is dead.
00:29:05
Speaker
Love is dead. I never, ever, ever thought I'd see the day that Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban split up, got a divorce. i just, I mean, for years, like years, to the point where like in the beginning I was like, or I mean- even up until recently i'm like wow they just don't seem like like how they found they seem so different but they were together for years as i was shocked i was shocked to see there they were getting a divorce when i heard those news the the only thing i talked to the people was love is dead love is death guys i literally thought their love was the purest of pure and like if they can't make it no one can
00:29:46
Speaker
Yeah. But let me tell you another. I'm going to go ahead and put this out there because if this one happens, someone's going to have to temp check me. Like Zendaya and Tom Holland ever break that no then I really know their love doesn't exist.
00:30:03
Speaker
Love is truly Love is truly dead. love is Truly dead. But I need to know, how long were they together? They they have kids. Yeah. Keith Urban. Yeah. How long together? Not me. Like I want to live fact check this because I feel like they were to together.
00:30:20
Speaker
Love is dead to you guys. I'm just going preface this before you guys hear it from me. Almost 20 years. Insane. It's insane. It's crazy.
00:30:31
Speaker
They met in 2005. That's wild. That was so sad to me. I knew it was a long time. I didn't realize it was that long, but I mean- I hope it's for, you know, the best. It's the greater good.
00:30:46
Speaker
Yes. And it's a better situation for their kids and their family. But like how, how sad. Now, on the other side of that coin with divorces, we also have a wedding to celebrate.
00:30:58
Speaker
Yes. The wedding of the century. The wedding of the century. And she looked like a queen. ah Oh, is it the wedding? Oh, no.
00:31:08
Speaker
I don't want to say it's the wedding in the century because I want to give space for Travis and Taylor. um But because of the close proximity of this relationship, I will give it the second wedding of the century.
00:31:22
Speaker
Yes. Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco. And I think he is so goofy looking, but she seems happier whatever.
00:31:34
Speaker
Annie is not shallow at all. i just want to put that out there. not Shallow Hal, where are you? didn't say anything, so I think he's so goofy looking. Like, not in a bad way, but, like, he's just a Let's word it this way. He's an extremely talented um based off how individual. Based off of the interview they had with Jay Shetty, he is an incredible, incredible partner. Incredible partner.
00:32:03
Speaker
Yeah. I i mean,
00:32:07
Speaker
and we're all grateful for that he plucked the unibrow. Thank you so much. Oh my God. Thank you. But he seems so attentive. So amazing for her. at first I was like, when they first got together, I was like, what? But now love watching them together in the clips and the videos and the pictures that you see. She looked gorgeous on her wedding day. Of course, Taylor Swift was there. So, you know, we love to see it.
00:32:31
Speaker
We love to see it. Love to see a happy ending for Selina's. Like just again, he's, he's, he's, a he's got a great heart. He's got a beautiful heart and he got a snatched like girly because you can tell she has a beautiful heart too. And she really cares about people and you can tell that he's the same way. So they have like the same energy when it comes to that.
00:32:58
Speaker
But I did want to point out because I know there's a little bit of like drama um in regards to that wedding that I'm going to mention. But an invitee that was noticed being absent from that wedding is Selena's, I believe it was like her best friend that gave her a kidney.
00:33:19
Speaker
Yes. And I think she spoke out. She did give a statement that she was not there and that she would not discuss the reasoning. Something about like she's not going to discuss the reasoning as to the why their friendship fizzled. Like it's not her story to tell. I don't remember exactly what she said. But basically it pointed to like there's drama there. There's a story. Yeah, I think it was something came out in the past couple years about it too. Now I can't remember what it was. But I remember being shocked by it because of
00:33:50
Speaker
the kidney there. Yeah. It was a kidney, right? That was good. I gave you my kidney. I gave you my kidney. Yeah. You literally have a piece of my body inside of yours. So something major, in my opinion, major had to happen. If you're going to do so, I mean, you have to one feel so strongly and like care so deeply about someone to do that and give them a kidney and then fast forward however many years and then you're not friends anymore. So I just, I, i don't know.
00:34:18
Speaker
But she had she did have Taylor Swift there. So speaking of Taylor Swift, this girly pop has got a lot going on. She has but made... i mean, it's announcement after announcement. So the album is great. i think there's I think there's two sides of the story between people who love it, people who hate it, whatever. like Don't dig deep into the words. Don't like listen to the music for what for what it is. Just listen to the music.
00:34:41
Speaker
Yeah, I couldn't agree more. And honestly, if you were a millennial... I honestly don't want to hear it. This is going a hot take. Okay, ready? get Everybody sit down. Buckle in Hot take is coming. i don't want hear it. you grew We all grew up on Ludacris.
00:34:58
Speaker
I want to la la la lick you from you. not going to continue. um We grew up on all the Lills. Lil White, Lil Wayne, Lil Kim. i mean, I can keep going.
00:35:08
Speaker
um We grew up on... one can't hear my boy Lil Jon, but keep going. You guys. We grew up singing along about someone leaving their son at home because they had to go sleep with a man for a little bit of money.
00:35:27
Speaker
And his daddy's gone. Okay. Y'all know the song I'm singing. I'm literally, I'm literally talking the lyrics out because ah that was a bop. And I will still sing this, that song because I freaking love that song. Um, horrible story, but like yeah storyline, um,
00:35:43
Speaker
At least Taylor Swift is like, ah yeah, she put an F-bomb. Maybe there's some innuendos, you know, in some of those lyrics. But, like, come on. Like, some of these other songs we grew up listening to little more graphic.
00:35:55
Speaker
little more graphic, a little more direct, I feel like. So, I just, that's my hot take on that. I think if that's why people don't like the album, o let's re-check ourselves about what we listened to be growing up.
00:36:10
Speaker
Let go of the pearls, let go of the pearls for a second. and like, come on, like, let's, let's be serious. But I mean, she's, she's not going away. She is of course they are engaged. We just recently, um, now that she's kind of doing more interviews, now that her album's out, we're hearing more about the engagement and all that stuff, which is always like fun to hear how it happened when it happened.
00:36:34
Speaker
She just announced she's got the new a piece on Disney Plus coming out with like behind the scenes or like the end of an era stuff that's coming out in December. So, I mean, she is she is nonstop. There was the Life of a Showgirl movie. I know you guys went to see it. You went to see it with a bunch of neighborhood friends and you brought Avery. Like, she is nonstop and she is not going away anytime soon.
00:37:01
Speaker
no She is... she is I want to say at least 82 to 87 steps ahead at all times. Like this is a busy gal and she, her PR team and her marketing, they know what they're doing. Like ah kills it I will say, okay, this is my only, and don't want to complain about the queen. I really don't.
00:37:22
Speaker
But my only thing was like, did we need that many vinyls? Like I kept thinking we were going to get something huge. You know, I kept thinking, honestly, I kept thinking Vegas residency. Okay. I was dreaming. I was dreaming big for these announcements and these doors. People people are still thinking Vegas residency.
00:37:40
Speaker
I don't foresee it. be i don't. i mean Yeah. People are saying that there's a spot in one of her videos where like the sphere is in the background. And I think we're kind of grabbing at things. Now, if it does happen on real,
00:37:56
Speaker
But I just, i don't know. I don't see her doing a Vegas residency. But again, listen, we'll be in line for tickets if she does. And all those people that are complaining about the album, I better not see you guys on Ticketmaster.
00:38:10
Speaker
better not be in line. Your email better be blocked. wow You cannot sign up for presale. Blocked. Yeah. blocked blocked blocked like again also straight to jail do not pass code plug two hundred dollars yeah you're also straight to jail you're in jail with frida is that who i said send was it jail yeah frida you guys sit in that jail cell with frida and talk about dolly i don't know i don't know you better figure something else out if you're not gonna like to with your mom pray together for dolly and her kidney stones to pass like
00:38:43
Speaker
gonna see that I mean, she's like always 10 steps ahead. So like, I'm so like, prover I mean, I will say she did already, like bust that myth. Like she does not plan to go on tour anytime soon.
00:38:54
Speaker
i think right now she's just living her engaged girly moment, like let her have it. Let her be. and she should. she should. She deserves to have that. so I couldn't agree more.
00:39:06
Speaker
i did see again, we're grasping here, right? But I did don't know if you follow Dumas, but I did see that Dumas got a tip that there's someone in Rhode Island willing to buy out a venue to have their wedding there on June 13th. So will I be in Rhode Island on June 13th, 2026, just to be safe? Yes.
00:39:27
Speaker
The answer is yes. I'm going to be taking a trip Island. Just in case. Can you imagine? like I just can't imagine there will be no privacy unless you're like, I don't know, you go to the middle of like an island by yourselves and you, I don't know. i just, I just can't um imagine getting any any privacy.
00:39:52
Speaker
So, um, but at the same time, like give, give the people what they want. Like just tell lies at that point, you know, like this, yeah let us have it. Let us see it. Let us see it. Hear me out. Yeah. Hear me out. hear me out compromise Um, another thing that you and I, we talked about this briefly, so we'll just talk about it.
00:40:08
Speaker
We talked about it briefly last episode or the one before still obsessed with the dancing with the stars. I'm not over it. Still an over and we'll never be over it. And i think Alex Earl should win. And I'll, that's all, that's all I have to say.
00:40:19
Speaker
That's all have to say. Okay. But now Annie's a little biased because Annie did get some traction from Alex Earl herself and Val. I did. Tell us the story of this.
00:40:32
Speaker
and I mean, it's it could be a short story. Well, I made a silly TikTok um right after she did her dance on Disney night. I made a TikTok the next day because I was, i i mean, if you've seen the dance, like everyone was obsessed with it. And I just like couldn't stop watching. One, I love that song.
00:40:50
Speaker
um it's like the lana ray lana del rey rendition of uh once upon a once upon a dream yeah yeah yeah um and it was just she was maleficent val was prince whatever his name is stephan and it was just such a good thing i made a video about did you just make have you ever seen sleeping is or has king stephan ah
00:41:15
Speaker
No, he was not Prince. Was he not the Prince? Philip is with Sleeping Beauty. He is Stefan in the Maleficent one. he It's Stefan. And then, of course, Stefan ends up being Philip's father.
00:41:29
Speaker
He's like the... or No, Stefan is... No, no. Stefan is Aurora's dad. But Prince Philip is the one going after Aurora. Oh, I thought he was supposed to be Prince Philip.
00:41:40
Speaker
and Because, you know, Prince Philip fights Maleficent. Have you seen the Angelina Jolie Maleficent male love no i haven't seen No, I haven't seen the adult one because I'm going to watch that one with my Maleficent obsessed girly when it's time. It's so good. It is a fantastic movie. Yes. like they've been doing yeah We've been seeing some of these movies where like you're seeing the villain in a different light.
00:42:04
Speaker
um That to me is probably, I'd say, the best one done. It's so good. so Then you'll understand the story a little bit better because she befriended Stefan and then he betrayed her. And that's what you saw in the dance was like, I love you, but I hate you. Yeah.
00:42:19
Speaker
Okay. That makes sense. I thought was Prince Philip because they fight, you know, like she goes after her yeah type of thing. yeah Yeah. Oh, see. Anyway. Anyhow, made a video and I tagged them in it and they both liked the video. And so now I'm famous and I don't have time for anything anyone. Or anyone. I'm so busy.
00:42:38
Speaker
For anyone. Just because we're going to get autographs. Yes, I'm giving out autographs. Yes, I'm autographs. But I love I love I've always enjoyed ever since I found her through our friend Allie, I've always liked her content. And so I hope she wins.
00:42:56
Speaker
That's all. Yeah. I don't think she's going to win. I hate to break it to you I think she should. i think she's really good. The competition this year on Dancing with the Stars is unreal. Yeah.
00:43:08
Speaker
um Personally, what I think it's going to come down to, it will come down her being the top three. I think it's going come down to Whitney, Robert, and Alex Earl. you think Whitney's going to win? I don't think she'll win either.
00:43:20
Speaker
i People like an underdog story, and I think it may come down to possibly Robert winning. Interesting. Or even, honestly, Dylan Efren May.
00:43:32
Speaker
I love I love him. i literally You guys, have so many to vote, and I like the voting is getting a little scarce you know for me because all my favorite I can't obviously vote for all my favorites every time.
00:43:43
Speaker
um But this is based on, yes, it's based on the judges' vote, but a lot is solely based on fan base too. So a lot of people think that some of these people won't make it far because their fan base are slowly going to start being just like, meh, I see homegirl is better than him now. so I'm going to start voting for them instead.
00:44:06
Speaker
Right. on And hence, we won't even get into it. But this is why Hilaria is kind of under fire right now a little bit because she's saying she was bullied off the show. And that's not the case. Like, i I don't support her statement of saying that because it's your it's your fans voting for you.
00:44:24
Speaker
So how is it that you were bullied off when your fans were voting for you? Yeah, I know she said that. Yeah, she she went on. she I guess she was on a live and she basically said, I was bullied off this show.
00:44:36
Speaker
Oh, i yeah. E-News actually retweeted it and is like talking about it now because they captured that moment where she said that. And like, this is your fan base. So, you know, Dylan Efron may not have a big fan base. If you were a fan of Trader's.
00:44:50
Speaker
You're a fan of Dylan Efron. Okay. But then now you're maybe seeing a different side of him. Like, wait, that's Zac Efron's brother. Like everyone was like sick. Underdog story. Then we've got Robert Irwin who Bindi won the show when she was on it.
00:45:04
Speaker
So he's got the pressure of trying to make it to the end, but he's got the entire... Croc like dynasty. again yeah Alex Earl, TikTok. Whitney, TikTok.
00:45:16
Speaker
Jen, i don't think ain't gonna make it far, but she's got TikTok too. And she's got, you know, we've got the TikTok community. Right. It's also, you know, huge. So like you have to think of these Elaine. Elaine's got Parent Trap fans, you know, like this goes way back. Then we've got Andy.
00:45:31
Speaker
you know he's got He's got the that's my dad out there. That's my dad trying his best, doing his best. A lot of different yeah a lot of different fan but fan bases that are coming out. which So it will be very interesting to see who ends up being the winner this season. Very, very interesting.
00:45:52
Speaker
Yeah. I will be shocked. I'm calling it. I think it's going to come down to Alex, Whitney, and Robert. I think that's going to be our top three. for They will at least have to be in the top five. If any of they them get eliminated, they just have natural talent.
00:46:04
Speaker
And if they get eliminated, it's going to be a shock. It's going to be one of those, like it came down to the wire. and like it's like by maybe because it has happened before where it's come down to like maybe a difference of like 10 votes and somebody gets voted off.
00:46:20
Speaker
So I'm excited. here first Yeah. You heard of your first folks. um everybody who We're going to see who that top three is. um But speaking of TV stuff, very briefly, I don't know if anyone really watches anymore, but the victoria feast ah Victoria's Secret Fashion Show um live televised event is tomorrow.
00:46:39
Speaker
I've never been one to really watch it. um But yeah, I didn't realize that it was still, they still had it. Maybe that makes me like living under a rock, but you used to watch, I know a little bit, but they used to have great musical performers. I don't know who's on it this year, but it used to be super, super popular. People would like get together and like watch it all together. And it was like this huge thing.
00:47:02
Speaker
um But I don't know. I'm just like, I, it kind of makes me feel like I could never like that. And that sounds terrible to think about like as a 30 something year old woman to like think that, but still like, that person looks freaking great. How did they do that? I could never do that.
00:47:21
Speaker
Yeah. You know, it's one of those things too. Like, I don't think it's advertised as much as it used to be. I feel like there used to be commercials being like for two secret fashion show, like this day performing.
00:47:32
Speaker
And don't think it's advertised much because Feminism. you know Not feminism, but like you know like women now are like so much more vocal about expressing how they feel about how they are womanized.
00:47:48
Speaker
that that Maybe it's not feminism, but womanized. like you know We don't want to be seen as an object. We don't want to be seen as... So I think maybe that's why they've kind of like laid low little bit. i mean, they have become more inclusive, I think, you know, with sizes and body shapes and things like that, which I think is great.
00:48:05
Speaker
um And it's also one of those things, too. It's like, I don't want my daughter seeing that, you know, naked women on the TV. And it's like. Okay. It's also about confidence, right? Like that takes a lot of confidence, self-confidence to do that.
00:48:21
Speaker
So it's, you know, and they're models, like that's their job. Like this is a job pays for their life. yeah pace for their life So I don't know. I think it's just like mixed reviews. So maybe that's why they don't advertise that much. Cause I didn't, I didn't know it was happening this week. I didn't know it was even happening at all anymore. Like I literally, I watched it, I think in high school or college like once. And then I told Annie, I watched it again, like when they became more inclusive and they had like, I don't remember who the performer, maybe it was.
00:48:49
Speaker
Was it the weekend? it was ah No, Adam Levine was on there. He was on Levine because him his wife was a, Victoria's Secret. It was Maroon 5. And it was like when Maroon 5 was still, you know, rocking.
00:49:01
Speaker
But when was that? I mean, years ago. So and Benita, isn't that her name? Benita, his wife? she has like a Something like that.
00:49:12
Speaker
Centric name. But speaking of like things that have changed, there's one thing that has not changed. for the millennials. And I think a picture was recently posted. I think it healed us all.
00:49:26
Speaker
You guys, I think this is the photo we've all been waiting for to be posted. and that photo is a picture of Lauren Conrad and Kristen Cavallari.
00:49:39
Speaker
They say a picture is worth a thousand words and my, my, my, I I'd say 2000, I'd say 2000 words because I
00:49:46
Speaker
It was a collective jaw drop and like a squeal of excitement. Now you're seeing like behind the scenes, not behind the scenes, but people like seeing them filming. Like there's a Laguna Beach reboot. Like we're seeing some pictures from like the cast members behind the scenes and like millennials are shaking and screaming with excitement. And we can say that because we are millennials and we are shaking and screaming with excitement.
00:50:11
Speaker
Can confirm. can confirm and you guys it's not just any of reunion it is the og of og you have to remember the hills came from this like so many like everything came from this like laguna beach season one the ogs of laguna beach season one are getting together and talon actually I don't know if you follow him on Tiki Talkie or Instagram, but I follow him on Instagram.
00:50:38
Speaker
And he is recording so much content, you guys. He literally keeps teasing. And he's like, because he asks, what content do you guys, what like remakes do you guys want us to do like Send me all your things.
00:50:50
Speaker
And then people now are like, okay, where is it? like We know you guys are together. like Where is it? And he's like, I've got it all. I've got a vault. I can't post it yet because they're recording But when I can, so I just cannot wait to see like you guys, it's, i and i personally was healed when I saw that photo. It's going to be so good. And I swear to goodness, if they it's got to be like the same song. Like it's got to be like a similar vibe to the intro. Like I remember when Aubrey started watching it and it was the most like nostalgic, wonderful, amazing feeling when we would sit down and I'd like watch a couple of them with her
00:51:27
Speaker
And that intro comes on like, let the rain fall down. And you're seeing all of them pop up on the screen. And I'm like, oh my God, like I am right back in yeah high school watching this again because i so so I'm so excited.
00:51:39
Speaker
i cannot wait. I will be absolutely sitting my booty down on the couch and watching that the minute that it comes out because it is going to be the millennials the call for millennials heard around the world.
00:51:52
Speaker
Literally, they're lining all of that. They're lining all the stuff. But it's going on Roku channel, which do I need to buy a Roku? Like, I don't even know what a Roku is. Like, whatever it Take my money. my money. for this, then I'll return it. Oh, my God. Maybe we can return this wine and pay for Roku that way.
00:52:11
Speaker
That could also maybe I can give the rest of this wine to somebody to let me borrow the Roku. Yeah. I'll trade you a half open bottle of wine with only one glass poured.

Not even half. It was one glass poured. Like I, I'll, I even deduct something. I'll give you a free wine glass or something. don't know. What do you want? Tell me. Yeah. um Yeah. It's a circle back. um I thought it would get better the more I drink it, to be honest.
00:52:40
Speaker
And the more that I'm drinking, I think it's the more that it's just telling me I'm meant to be a sangria. Yeah. It is. It's meant to be a sangria or a sprints. And I know if Sarah is listening and she did not turn this off, she's cackling to herself, being like, I freaking told you guys.
00:52:55
Speaker
I freaking told you guys. She knew. um am all over the place in my cork right now because it doesn't taste bad, but I just know that I would not buy it again.
00:53:08
Speaker
So I'm really kind of like bouncing around with mine. Do you know you're going to cork it? Not at all. ah Because i'm kind of my brain's kind of everywhere as well. Like, it's just like, um've again, I've had this brand's Pinot Noir, which we know Willamette Valley is known for their Pinot Noir. They're very much, their soil was meant for Pinot Noir. so maybe that's why I know that one was good.
00:53:34
Speaker
um Maybe it's not meant for Pinot Gris. You know, maybe this is, if the soil is not meant for Pinot Gris there. Yeah. um So yeah, I'm a little all over as well.
00:53:45
Speaker
i feel like I have a little bit of a hunch of where I want to sit at. Yeah. I feel like I feel calm. Let me have one more sip.
00:53:55
Speaker
Okay. Have one more sip. Think on it because I feel like I'm getting closer to mine. I might be ready cork. I feel like I'm getting close. I feel like I'm getting close. Um,
00:54:10
Speaker
Yeah, I think I know where I'm sitting at. i think I'm just going to give it a solid number. i don't think it deserves a point ah point system. Oh, okay. Well, that's fine. I am going to give it 5-9. Well, mine's 6.
00:54:24
Speaker
well minds is six That's why I was saying I don't think it deserves a point system because I'm like, it's just going to be a 6. A solid 6. That's what I was dancing with. You didn't even let me finish. You're well, I'm going to...
00:54:38
Speaker
I love that. Well, I've reached it. I've reached my number. Were you going to go right into it? Were you going to go right into your work? I was going to right into my number because I said I have a solid number.
00:54:51
Speaker
But that's why it makes it even funny. like Anyways, yeah, it's a 5-9 for me.
00:54:58
Speaker
I thought you were saying, have a solid number. I'm ready, but didn't think you were going to come out with it. I should have just said it because I know it'll like capture both of us now. so I should have just gone six. As you said, five, nine.
00:55:13
Speaker
I'm so hot now. I'm laughing hard ah so hard. That's where we're sitting. Yeah. A wrath, peanut grige. it's Maybe it's meant for more of the red soils. Yeah.
00:55:26
Speaker
yeah Yeah. Maybe we try their Pinot Noir. Like you said, you've had it before. had it before. No, I will back that up. I will back that up. But the last time I probably had it was maybe 2018. Oh, my. Okay.
00:55:46
Speaker
So it's been some time. It's been a long time. I've had a lot of different wines since then. Yeah. I think I have to, i I think I need to get a bottle though and like compare it.
00:55:57
Speaker
Good luck with that. Maybe I'll cook with it if it's not that well That's your, yeah, that's your journey. That's your journey. So yeah, that's where we've landed with this wine. She said that that's your journey. i will not be partaking.
00:56:13
Speaker
