Podcast Introduction & Banter

00:00:00
Speaker
Welcome to Wine Mama, a podcast where two bestie moms whine while they whine. I'm Annie. And I'm Jemina. Let's whine. And, you know, unfortunately not everyone can see us, only clips, but you're probably wondering why I'm so much in the dark today.
00:00:16
Speaker
um it I'm also wearing black, so that is, you know, I really am in the dark right now. Oh, you know, I have a little bit of a headache. I just really don't feel like the spotlight on me is appropriate at this time because I'm here to yap with my co-host Annie over there. How are you doing?
00:00:34
Speaker
I'm doing good. We're going to be yapping away today. And I love that. I'm so sorry that you have a headache. You've had a headache like all day. And she was like, listen, I'm not going to put on the light. I'm like, I don't blame you. This thing is blinding.
00:00:47
Speaker
literal blinding sometimes i like don't realize how bright it is until we get the video and i'm like okay she's a star like she is she's a star my gosh that reminds me of what's that movie was it uh is that what it's called she's a star or superstar oh old movie with the armpit girl yes with sarah silverman right so sarah silverman there's someone's on it but molly something No, you're right.
00:01:15
Speaker
Yes, Molly something. Yes, yes, yes. I always get them mixed up and I don't know why. because i think Sarah Silverman's on it too. Hold on. Quick fact check. Superstar movie. It's called Superstar, right?
00:01:29
Speaker
I like see the front, the cover of it and everything. The cover of the DVD and everything. Maybe it was VHS at that point. Yeah, Molly Shannon. That's who was.
00:01:39
Speaker
Oh my gosh. I did not know Elaine Hendricks was in that. are dancing with the stars queen elaine hendrix what part did she play i don't know it says she was evian evian what oh my gosh we're have to go back and watch that what a little what an oldie but a goodie only but a good should they kiss the like kiss trees like make out with the trees it's like wait like you think about it now and you're like what That is like the trauma, I think, from that movie. Like the part that everyone remembers is those specific pinpoints.
00:02:17
Speaker
Yeah, exactly those items. No. Can't tell anything else about the movie. No. Same. Same. But things are good over here. Again, I'm sorry that you have a headache. I mean, i would say I'm glad you're drinking water. I'd say the wine...
00:02:32
Speaker
may not help the situation. You have to make the shit out of this headache. going really take it to the next level. Yeah. But I got to ask, are you ready to wine with the wine of the week?

Orange Wine Tasting & Skepticism

00:02:43
Speaker
Honestly, I am ready because it does smell good. So like I'm giving it the hope that it will just, maybe I just, you know, that's what I needed. Maybe like I've been so deprived of a good wine that I'm hopeful.
00:02:56
Speaker
Yeah. This will cure it all. It may. Maybe you're like, I've been i've been like asking, I'm like, did you drink water? I know you drink plenty of water. I'm like, is it water? You're like, i didn't eat much today. You were eating your dinner right before we started. Maybe it's the wine. Maybe you just need wine and this is going to be like miracle on aisle, whatever, aisle closet, like miracle. Aisle closet.
00:03:17
Speaker
Aisle closet. For sure. i believe it. We believe it. So tonight we are drinking the Gerard Bertrand Orange Gold. And this is an orange wine. ah we have not had one in a while. I think it's been maybe maybe two seasons, maybe even more since we've had an orange wine. Yeah. so you know, it always has a special look to it, these orange wines. It looks like pee every time.
00:03:44
Speaker
It looks like a very dehydrated pee. Mm-hmm. You said it, not me. But yeah, when I was pouring it, i was like, this is pee of someone who has not drank water in a very long time. And I can't confirm that's not me because I've been drinking so much water today to get that headache to go away. um But it smells good.
00:04:03
Speaker
Like I'm not, i mean, i mean, it's not the, I'm just saying like for an orange wine, i if I recall correctly, the last orange wine we had was not My favorite. um I can't remember. can't remember. I think this is only probably our second orange wine we've had. Okay. Maybe third.
00:04:21
Speaker
I don't know. I don't know. I can't remember. They obviously haven't really left a big impression. I don't know. um i may made mean to fact check myself, but... Let's learn a little bit more about this wine and where it comes from.

Gerard Bertrand's Wine Journey

00:04:33
Speaker
So at the age of 10, Gerard participated in his first grape harvest alongside his father. This early experience would lay the foundation for his future career in the wine industry.
00:04:43
Speaker
At the age of 22, upon his father's passing, he became the sole manager of the family vineyard. That's so sad. hey that Okay. Starting off depressing. Yeah.
00:04:54
Speaker
But we were bigger. It actually is kind of like a sad story. He had a career in like rugby and was like a really big rugby player. And like rugby and wine were like the two biggest like pillars in his life. But then when his dad passed, he left rugby behind and came home to like take over the family business. I'm like, wait, Gerard, this is so sad. Oh, gosh, Gerard. Like, come check on Gerard, is he? know.
00:05:20
Speaker
i know. Okay. His family line okay at this point. But... Anyways, Gerard acquired the Sigilis, is that what it's called? Sigilis? Mm-hmm. Estate in 1995, which then became his family's home. This acquisition marked a significant expansion of his wine growing empire. Then came 2002, which marked the beginning of biodynamic wine production at Silas, emphasizing sustainable viticulture. Okay. We love something sustainable starting, you we started off a little depressing, but we're, we're, we're jumping back on the train.
00:05:54
Speaker
but we're on We're on the up and up. So he acquired like different properties. You guys, there was so much information. Like I was like, I don't, there's a, like we could do a whole story. Like sometimes we pull wines and we're like barely scraping by it, like the information we get. And then this one had some really great like nuggets and They have a few different chateau like properties. There's one that is a hotel and a restaurant. It's so, it's like so gorgeous. So it's really interesting, um really interesting company and, and family who runs it, yeah,
00:06:27
Speaker
Orange gold pays tribute to the first orange wines of Georgia hundreds of years ago. Please note that that Georgia is not the state of Georgia. It is the the country of Georgia.
00:06:38
Speaker
Gerard Bertrand wants to create a new profile of orange wines. Orange gold pays homage to the power of the sun and the magnificent sunsets of the south of France.

Easter Celebrations & Anecdotes

00:06:47
Speaker
Now that's getting me in the mindset, right? Now I'm seeing myself in the south of France with this little glass of orange wine sipping away. Yes. I'm seeing it. I'm seeing it.
00:06:57
Speaker
The vision. The vision is there. It's there. So the nose is complex with an explosion of notes of white flowers, candied fruit, and white pepper on the palate, a very flattering aromatic freshness with precise flavors and a beautiful balance to which the structure gives body and spirit sweet and fine. Its texture envelops the palate. So I i can tell you, I'm not smelling white pepper when I say this smells good. I'm definitely smelling. It was more fruity to me. Like I can't like candy fruit. I can see that. Yeah.
00:07:30
Speaker
Not super strong, but you could definitely smell some sort of like, I don't know, sweet, sweetness, sweetness to it. Yeah. I don't even know what I don't even know what white pepper would, would smell like. So that's an interesting um note there, but the price is pretty affordable anywhere between 21 and $26. We got ours at ABC, so it's pretty widely available.
00:07:54
Speaker
If, you know, if you take our corking recommendation at the end of the day and I'm like trying to scroll this around, but it's just like sloshing. I'm not doing good job with my left hand. Yeah.
00:08:05
Speaker
And I will say, i do not believe my, my pour is at the perfect temp at this time, even though I tried my little, you know, stainless steel to keep it a little cooler for longer, but you know, me and Annie always yap beforehand and yes let's get out of hand. So yes.
00:08:23
Speaker
But it's still, I mean, I believe it's still going to at the right temp here. I'm hoping. yeah Yes. That can make or break a wine sometimes. and that's that's an us problem too. Like we need to, you know. Cool and chill better.
00:08:37
Speaker
Right. that was That's an us problem. So let's lets run wine let's see how we did and try this orange wine. Cheers. Cheers.
00:08:54
Speaker
Okay.
00:09:08
Speaker
The way it describes that on the palate, a very flattering, aromatic freshness.
00:09:16
Speaker
I'm not feeling that. I'm not feeling...
00:09:22
Speaker
I'm about to be so vulgar and we may lose some people from this. Do it. It is dehydrated pee. Do you? And it's just just because I like the movie was on TV, like maybe a week ago when I watched it, you guys remember dodge ball.
00:09:36
Speaker
Yes. And the old man, was like teaching him. He's like, is it normal that I drink my own piss? No, but it's sterile. And I like the taste. And I'm like,
00:09:49
Speaker
Yeah. It's literally giving like not it's not the best. not It's giving dodgeball. It's giving dodgeball. It's giving dodgeball. Now when we say that, you guys should know what what we mean after that description.
00:10:04
Speaker
It's not that bad, but just so like the front, like it's not even at the aftertaste. It's just a tea. Yeah. It's just a tea, you know? Yeah.
00:10:16
Speaker
is It's like kind of strong Yeah. Maybe you just need one glass for a cure-all. Maybe so. this could be that This could be the headache cure, or you could be texting me in the morning being like, damn.
00:10:28
Speaker
Damn, we really messed up.
00:10:31
Speaker
I'm going go with maybe the latter. like I'm just vibing from outside at this time. Probably the latter. But anywho, how was Easter? How was this past weekend?
00:10:43
Speaker
I saw the kids did a fun little Easter egg hunt. like What's up? Yes. um you know Easter is Easter I'm trying to think like even though it just happened like I'm like what did we do what was Friday was good Friday and it was early release day Becca did have a half day and a lot of schools were closed for good Friday thankfully our school took them for half the day but um what do we do after that I think we just like we honestly just kind of like hung out and chilled around the house. We didn't do anything major, you know, went to church. Oh, I do have like um a small kid story. We went to church and you know, the kids go to their little like kids ministry or whatever and kids club or I don't know what it's called, but anyways, when we went to pick them up after the service, literally back at come out, came out was like, listen, mom, I'm sorry. Jesus died on your birthday.
00:11:39
Speaker
I was like, okay, well, Good Friday changes every year. It's not necessarily on my birthday every time. Okay. So let's not relate my birthday to his dad. Okay. And then i told him was like, well, you were born on Good Friday one year or so.
00:11:52
Speaker
You were literally born on Good Friday. So what did that say about you? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. That's so funny. I thought that was so funny. I was like, oh. okay But no, we did. We did like an Easter egg hunt um at home because of course the Easter Bunny dropped off some Easter eggs.
00:12:08
Speaker
Of course. not And we did the little baskets, which last year i was very like anti-candy. I was like, I just don't want... a bunch of candy around and we have like these little coupons that we put in the eggs and we're really fun. This year i was like, I don't care.
00:12:24
Speaker
Bought candy. I didn't have the time or energy because it's always a little chaotic around this time because it's my birthday Easter and then it's Beckett's birthday. So I'm mostly putting putting all my energy into planning Beckett's birthday.
00:12:36
Speaker
And, um So it was just a candy galore for everybody. But, you know, with the Easter baskets, like I do make an effort. Like I put card games, I put new bathing suits, so swimming goggles. I don't put like candy in that because i know they're about to get it. You know, Easter Bunny is about to deliver when it comes to that kind of stuff. yeah Yeah. Yeah.
00:12:58
Speaker
Listen, we love, listen, we love candy and the eggs. We are like, even when you're like, you know, think that maybe the Easter bunny can switch it up. You know what saying? Right.
00:13:10
Speaker
There's not many options for said Easter bunny to choose from. yeah So it's the erasers. I don't want the erasers. No, no, I don't want the little dinky. No. Yeah. Just candy it up.
00:13:22
Speaker
Candy it up. So we did. And unfortunately i did get caught eating some of it and Becca got very upset. and was like, why didn't you ask me? And I was like, my gosh, I'm sorry. Like, You got so much. I didn't know you were going to notice this specific Kinder egg.
00:13:35
Speaker
Okay. yeah I thought the Easter Bunny would be okay with this. Like he gave you this to share. Literally. Literally. But anyways, I got very low key, hung out, chilled. We celebrated my birthday because my birthday was on As Beckett mentioned, Good Friday. So it was like it was like a combo birthday Easter like hang. So nothing like super oh, oh, my gosh. We did do something. Good Friday was my birthday. and that We went to go and see the new Mario movie.
00:14:02
Speaker
Nice. he's how How was it? How was it? we tried we tried to go. It just didn't work out this weekend. Yeah. ah But it was good? it was good. It was very cute. And i um I may see something controversial here. But if you go watch the Mario movie I need you guys to align with me here, but I'm pretty positive. Like pretty positive.
00:14:24
Speaker
Princess Peach and the new princess, which I cannot remember her name at this time. Rosalina or Daisy? Rosalina. Rosalina. They for sure have lip filler. Like get you cannot convince me otherwise. They have lip filler. And when you guys go watch Mario, you're going to see that they have lip filler.
00:14:42
Speaker
You're going to come back and make lot of it right. She's so right. So anyways, just want to point that out. If you haven't seen it yet make sure you notice the lip filler. Like if it's freshly done for sure. Now we aren't going to be able to unsee it. Like anyone who goes and watches it, that's going to be the first thing on. It's like, where's the first scene of Princess Peach and Rosalina? 1000%. And the first scene is Rosalina. So you will see.
00:15:02
Speaker
You will see. But anyways, other than that, chill, chill, nice Easter weekend. How was y'all's? What did you guys, what were you guys up to for Easter? Yeah, very much kind of like this. Like it was chill, but we did we did some fun things with the kids. So we did our Easter egg hunt last weekend with some friends. We went to one of the um neighborhood parks of one of our friends and like hid a bunch of eggs for all the kids. And they had so much fun. It was so cute. And so we did that with them last weekend. And so this weekend, Saturday down at Armature Works, they had like hop on the lawn.
00:15:39
Speaker
So they had like blow ups and all this stuff to do. We made little friendship bracelets. They had like a little stand. There was the DJ. The Easter Bunny, of course, was there. We had our first year of no tears with Easter Bunny. So it was I know claps all around. First year of no tears with the Easter Bunny. And like, I mean, i get it. Right. Like I get the tears.
00:16:02
Speaker
I'll say it. i will so I will say that we... There was a new bunny this year. we always go to Armature Works for the bunny just because it's fun. like If you're from Tampa or you've like visited Tampa and you've been Armature Works, like it's just a great place and they always put great events together. that's where we always go to see the Easter bunny because he does make an appearance there around Easter. And so it was a new looking fellow this year. Was it Chuck E. Cheese?
00:16:30
Speaker
No. No, the Chuck E. Cheese is usually the one that we get, you know, the one that we usually get. I didn't think it was scary. Everyone I show the picture to, they're like, that's terrifying. and i'm like, really? Like, no, that's a scary bunny.
00:16:43
Speaker
Like that's, it you want me show you? Yes. I need you to pull up Insta bunny. From last year or this year. I'll do, I'll do both. I'll do both. I'll do both really quick. But no, but this was the first year of no tears. And I was just like, I was so proud of them. I'm like, oh my gosh, you guys, this is a big, I mean, not Kennedy so much. Cause I mean, come on, she's not going to cry over it.
00:17:03
Speaker
Yeah, I know. I will say like the Easter Bunny can be. This is my guy that we've had. I mean, this is who's been there for the past like few years. Yeah, that's Chuck E. Cheese. Okay. And then this is Charlie fearing for her life. Like, literally reaching for me. Angel. And I'm just like, stay still. Let me snap your pic. God.
00:17:21
Speaker
it Let's to the memes. It's for Mommy's Mems. Yes. And then when I got in line and we saw that there was a new little bunny, i was like, thank you for answering. This new bunny, is he's so cute.
00:17:33
Speaker
Look how cute he is. um ah my God. He's so cute. are you kidding? Okay, I will say he's the first of his kind. I have never seen that particular bunny before. it's Definitely the first of his kind. Cutie. he I can see why you would think he's a cutie compared to the other bunnies out there. this joy on their faces. Oh my gosh, I'm so happy that they were so joyful though. That that brings me joy. But no, that- Come on, look at this.
00:18:03
Speaker
Yeah. I think it's like because he has actual fur, it's giving him more realistic. Yes, the little fur. Like he's got like actual extra fluff here. But I can see why people would think he's also like not the vibe. Because it's like, who is that? Like who is- Is this the cousin the Easter Bunny? Yeah. Yeah.
00:18:25
Speaker
But I love that picture. I love that they're smiling. Charlie did a great job. Charlie did great, was so proud. And um one of the little kids that we were with, she was like, it's okay. like That's just a person in a costume. And I was like, oh, i home I don't know if we, like maybe because there are so many children that have to like, want to see the Easter bunny. We do like, you know, i don't know what we tell our kids, right? Like, I think we all tell our kids a little something different.
00:18:55
Speaker
And luckily, mine did not hear that or else they would have been like, what are you talking about? Oh, my gosh. Yeah. This is someone you guys knew or like, oh, no. This is one of the girls. Yeah. This one of the little girlies. And I was just at this time. I will inquire on who it was. Yeah.
00:19:12
Speaker
And I was like, oh, yeah. Like, luckily, my girls were like up at like in front of everyone, like looking for looking at him or whatever or her, whatever. um And that's the beginning, though. That's the beginning of the questioning. So you have to teeter lightly. It is the beginning of questioning. And I can one million percent vouch for that because that was the beginning of our questioning.
00:19:34
Speaker
with Aubrey. And it was very, slipp it was a very slippery slope after that. So, so yeah. and then we just did church and brunch with my, with the in-laws on, on, um, on Easter. And, uh, it was great. Yeah. Nice weather. I mean, frigging hot, but like nice weather. We were by the water and I can't, weather was great. And yeah. So, I mean, it was a nice Easter. Can't, can't really complain. And, Don't complain.
00:20:04
Speaker
Now I'm catching up on secret

lives. And you guys, every time Jordan comes on, I know this is not a pop culture episode. I'm aware, but it's taking up too much brain. Cancel him.
00:20:17
Speaker
Cancel him. him off my screen. Get him off the show. off my screen get him off the show He is so disgustingly entitled. and like I think Jessie's going through her own stuff right now, right? I'm not saying who's right and who's wrong, who I like better, or whatever. But like I would rather see literally anyone else on my screen.
00:20:40
Speaker
rather see Dakota on my screen than him. like Get them both off my screen. Bye. They're both just trying to, at this point, gain some fame. I have no idea. like And we all should have known the moment he dyed his hair.
00:20:55
Speaker
like we should have known he was trying no it's it's this like look where he's like this like so i can't even do it because i have long hair this like slick back look where he's like like mr like rico suave and i'm like he's the worst not cute no ah no no worse and i'm so glad jesse's getting a divorce from him like everyone's so happy for her like just rooting her on like Now, is she handling being single? Well, not the best. She's not the best. But am I happy that she's leaving Jordan? and Yes, 1,000%.
00:21:29
Speaker
their kids are so good though oh my gosh i feel lot for the kids i know that's always that's always hard um yeah i think she's kind of having a tough time like mentally with it which i mean i don't i don't know what that is like so yeah i'm sure she's struggling but anything to be away from he seems just very manipulative manipulative and ew and her like just not the vibes Yeah. She's generally like, she's one, she's one of my favorites. Like she is generally just very honest, very open. You ask her about something. she's not self-aware that she did something, if you confront her, she very much is like, Oh my gosh, I did not realize that. Like,
00:22:14
Speaker
Yeah. That is how you felt. Yeah. I will. I'm sorry. And I, like she takes account of the buzzword of the week, right? Accountability. was Accountability. Yes. Yeah. Oh my gosh. Yes. And you know, who's also, well, you know, who's also surprising me and then I'm, and then I'm done. You guys, I know this is not, like I said, it's not pop culture. Whitney is surprising me this season.
00:22:34
Speaker
Everybody stop. Everybody hold the phone. okay First of all she she just surprised you last season. At the reunion. At the reunion that you did not watch. I know I have like- No, I did i did watch- her I watched everything. I've watched everything. I'm just catching up on what is the season four. We're on season now. I and know what season it is. Maybe it was two reunions ago. I don't know. and No, I've watched everything. I've seen everything there is to see except for like, I've got to finish the rest of this season. Wow, is she turning a corner on Whitney? everybody, this is breaking news. Please speak. Let us know. I wish I had met Whitney now.
00:23:06
Speaker
I wish I had this Whitney all along yeah you know because like the way that she is speaking the way that she's speaking about people the way that she's speaking in situations is like wildly different than the whitney we and like right everyone everyone changes right like these women and have now like gotten a taste of fame they live a different life than they did when it started but like the person that she was the past what two three seasons um Where I feel like it was just like this. We were like on a roller coaster of like, okay, is she in? Is she out? Is she mean? Is she nice? Is she friends? Who, like, who is she friends with? What is she? Like, yeah I feel like I was getting whiplash. Season one or two were her rough seasons. and And like, now I'm like, I'm like, I don't know what episode, think on the episode like four or five and everything with her has been like very...
00:23:56
Speaker
study When someone mentions Demi, she doesn't like immediately bash Demi. She just kind of like nods and is like understanding of someone's take or whatever. yeah Or like now her and the Michaela thing, then rekindling their friendship.
00:24:10
Speaker
Everything, she's not... like like I'm not getting whiplash. from'm like I don't know who's who she's with here. She seems the most like level-headed. And i'm like, wait. Now I feel like I'm getting whiplash just like not knowing hello the so she has surprised me this season. no I haven't finished. haven't finished, but. Oh, you're going to jump on the train. You're going to be one of those people that you see on the, um that as everyone's posting now on Tik TOK and reels.

Disney Trips & Wine Critique

00:24:42
Speaker
It's like, I would like to personally apologize to Whitney. I didn't realize, I'm sorry. I didn't vote for you in dancing with the stars. And I,
00:24:47
Speaker
sorry, I talk shit about you because now I'm seeing who you really are and I support you and going to see you on Broadway. Like there's all of my algorithm is like girls like posting themselves. be Like I cannot believe I hated for you this long. And it's so funny because I'm like, listen, I get it. Do I support everything she's ever done? Like even Ben, Ben, Ben got a, um,
00:25:09
Speaker
got a whiff on his algorithm after dancing with the stars of the ah RSV video that she did. And he was to this day, he's like, what?
00:25:20
Speaker
He was like, I can't believe you ever voted for her. but I'm like, Ben, I said, she was like 21. Okay. First of all, 23. I don't know. She was very young. was like, she admitted that she did it for clout. it Like, do I agree with that? Absolutely not. Like what, what? Like that was really the most depressing video ever, especially from someone who experienced RSV and my family with the baby.
00:25:42
Speaker
And I'm like, that's not, but was like, but the fact that she actually admitted to that same thing with the dance with the stars thing, she admitted to going back on the show for that. I'm like, I can, I, I, I can accept that. It's one thing for you to like lie and like try to like wash under the rug.
00:25:57
Speaker
But there's not if you take accountability for it and you apologize, okay, let's move on from it, everybody. like Well, that's what you're starting to see too. And now I feel like I've made this into total pop culture episode. But now that's what you're starting to see too. Like I said, that they's they're starting to not starting to, but now they've seen this fame from it. So they're all getting these opportunities. yeah And kind of where I left off was where not Michaela, Macy was asking Jesse to like host something and Jesse picked something else to do.
00:26:26
Speaker
And now like to me sitting with them during the taping of the Dancing with the Stars, which like when you watch. Oh, this is where Jordan comes in. yeah It's like, oh, everything must be good.
00:26:38
Speaker
But really she's like, she's not, she's just there like to claim fame or whatever. So, um, I will say that now about Whitney. It's like, now that you've seen how far they've come, but there's still like some shadiness happening that you're not like, you're kind of like seeing it, like come fruition on camera where she's very like abrupt by about It's like, yeah, I did this because of this or yeah, I'm here for like business or whatever. I'm like, okay, now are you have you seen any of the Jen stuff?
00:27:08
Speaker
No. Like Jen and Zach can go. I'm sorry. Oh, I've never been big fan of her. I feel like there's a really big immaturity level there. I mean, she is young. She young. They're all young.
00:27:21
Speaker
I think the oldest one is now Whitney. I think she's the oldest one. Oh, is Whitney the oldest? I thought Jessie, but maybe Whitney. No, Jessie's the oldest, but then it's like Whitney and Macy, I want to say. the youngest is Layla.
00:27:35
Speaker
Yeah. There's a, there's a maturity level there too. But again, these guys like 30 and under is what we're talking about here. Like us, that's at this point in life. Yeah.
00:27:46
Speaker
Yeah. Yeah. um No, they can go like, they show how like supportive Connor is as a husband. And then they show how Zach treats Jen in regards to like dancing with the stars. Like, Oh, well you're always gone type of vibe. And it's like, and then Connor's like, no, go do this. This is your dream. Like you just see like two different,
00:28:06
Speaker
spouses and how different they treat their wife and especially because Jen makes such a big deal of this was my dream this was my dream and you see you'll see this like this isn't a spoiler but she like Whitney gets onto is like you don't own this dream anybody can have this dream stop saying that like you no one owns any dreams everyone so people can have the same dream and like this my dream has always been to be an actress and I've always wanted to also try for Dancing with the Stars. So, you know, like things like that. And you're just like, I don't know. Jen is just like, she's low on the totem pole for me. Oh, same.
00:28:41
Speaker
Same. Like, especially after the whole Ben Affleck thing and how she like was just trying to make, like, it that was like. It was weird. trying to It was weird. chap Yeah. Stop trying to make that happen. It's not going to happen. It's very, very uncomfortable. So. So bizarre. I mean, she did it in getting a Dunkin' Donuts.
00:28:58
Speaker
and commercial with him so I guess it benefited her it paid listen that it paid listen it paid off eventually in some way shape or form right for her want in so ah check she can check that off her list and it's good but she can check it off anyway speaking of fame i do have a story time my god tell me are are you famous now are you famous now I am famous on the local news incredible tell us more Tell us more if you have video on it.
00:29:28
Speaker
In case you didn't know, Monday it was National Caramel... popcorn day, national caramel popcorn day or something like that. oh damn. Okay. And orange theory is located next to a very delicious local popcorn place. I think we've had it before when you're here, it's called Mrs. B's. Yes. They're literally created. Oh my God. They're so good. You guys, they have like their staples like flavors, but then they have like their seasonal flavor. So they have like key lime pie, strawberry cheesecake, um,
00:29:57
Speaker
Buffalo blue. mean, can't even name all of them. Oh my God. Yes. I've had them. Yes. Anyway. So today, as I finished my workout in the morning and I was leaving, looking like a wet rat as I always do, because I get very red and I get very sweaty. Like it looks like showered. Like my hair is like, looks like I showered. I get stomped. And Yep.
00:30:18
Speaker
And like, Hey, it's national caramel popcorn day. Fox news is going to be live here. we need people to come in. You're wearing, you're, I happen to be wearing like an orange theory shirt. And I was like, um, uh, and I was with, it was Ben has just pulled up cause he was doing the class after me. And then ah ah a friend that I work out with was also there. And I'm like, looking at them like, oh okay, let's all just go in there. no they both bailed. And then I felt bad. No, no.
00:30:47
Speaker
because I felt peer pressure. and So i was like, okay, I guess I'll go. You guys, again, post-workout, looking like a wet rat. Anyways, I'm famous now. I was on the look with this.
00:30:59
Speaker
Anyways, I now get free popcorn for life. Like a wet rat. Thankfully, it was like very Monsters Inc vibe because it was just my back. Like I wanted to make sure I was like, an unpaid actor in the back but i did get free caramel popcorn it was like a build your own caramel popcorn bar and it was like i put oreos in it and m&ms and chocolate yes very good again that sounds wonderful very very good maybe i'll bring some mrs b's for our upcoming adventures at disney because we've got some plants coming up I am so excited. i cannot wait. We did Magic Kingdom, what, a month ago now? Maybe more than a month ago now. February. Yeah.
00:31:36
Speaker
I don't remember now. So long ago. Yes, we did Magic Kingdom a month ago or over a month ago, like I just said. And now we're doing Hollywood studios and animal kingdom in a couple of weeks. And I cannot wait. Another family is coming with us. So it's going to be the three families going. And I just like, we talk about it all the time. It brings me so much joy. Yeah.
00:31:59
Speaker
It brings me so much joy. Yeah. There's nothing. And so many people I've had so many people ask me too. It's like, don't you guys get tired of it? I'm like, I don't get tired of it because my children are just as excited every single time. Like I'm waiting for the moment that they are like bored at Disney, but they get just as excited to do every single ride, to see every freaking parade, to see that same firework show. They love it. And like nothing makes me happier than seeing them like be happy. And you know what? They're only going to love this for a certain stage of their life. And then they're going to probably not go for years and years until they have like,
00:32:38
Speaker
I don't know, grad night. Right. Exactly. And then it's going to be like fun, but like in a different way. Right. Like when they're like kids and it's fun, it's a whole different ball game. And it's just like, yeah, it's go, go, go. And it's exhausting. And,
00:32:53
Speaker
whatever but that's what comes with territory like nobody's gonna go to disney and have like a relaxing day right like we know going into it that it's just gonna be like bonkers and balls to the wall and the kids are gonna want like ice cream and the mickey pretzel and stop for uh soda and candy from the main street store it's like okay like that's just what comes like listen it is what it is. We bring the snacks that we can, we bring like our water is like we bring stuff. So to offset the costs to be able to still like get these fun things and do these fun things and get the souvenir. Like I love it so much. And then we're doing the,
00:33:28
Speaker
drinking around the world. We'll talk about it more the closer it gets, but we'll be drinking around the world in the beginning of May. And there'll be Cinco de Mayo weekend. Cinco de Mayo weekend. And there's going to be four, four couples, I think. Yeah. Four couples. And that's also just so much fun.
00:33:47
Speaker
It's so much fun. good Three, four. don't know who I'm missing. Allie and Nate. Right.
00:33:58
Speaker
Do you know that? Oh, oh, yes, yes, yes. Okay. There is four. I don't know how to count. I'm, it's the headache. It's the headache. it's set It's setting in. I'm not here. I'm not. Oh my God. Yes, it is for couples. It just took me a minute. I don't know why it took me a minute because everybody accepted my Google calendar. in light so Today, today, soon as to in Britain, Nick. Yeah. So it's going to be, it's going to be so much fun. You guys, if you've never drank around the world, I think I said this last time, there are more people or maybe not more, but the same amount of people like in like groups and like hanging out and drinking around the world and they're like as like families that are like enjoying Epcot um and I don't say that in and like a rowdy way but like there are so many people yeah that go and drink around the world
00:34:42
Speaker
on like a given weekend at Disney because that's how fun it is. you get You get to, I mean, it's self-explanatory. You get to drink around the world and you get to like sample because half more than half the time they have either the Food and Flower Festival, the Wine Festival. like And so they have all these different like...
00:34:59
Speaker
kiosk yeah pop-ups don't know what you want to call them um of all the different foods i know but ben was always already like listen i'm i'm coming but i know my drink selections of where i'm gonna get my drinks i won't be drinking a drink at every country this time because stop i will say there are some countries that you're like oh this is no bueno that's me in canada goodbye yeah same and that's that little apple i know it is that little apple drink yeah That little apple drink, I'm out. Germany, I get my little grapefruit beer that I love. Love.
00:35:34
Speaker
You know, we get, what, mimosa in France, plus the little, like, Bellini, the slushy Bellini in France when you come back around. Yes. Espresso martinis in Italy, duh.
00:35:46
Speaker
You know, it's just something. Any and all margaritas in Mexico, obviously. all margaritas. so says specifically the avocado one, but we got a different one. Morocco, we need to find something different though. Morocco was a drink we also did not like, and I need to like sample something different there. I actually think I paused on Morocco and I was like, I'm going to not do this. And I took a sip of somebody's and I was like, I'm so glad that I did not get something because it was booty. And then the one that we got China,
00:36:15
Speaker
um china I forget what we got. Or maybe Japan we did sake. don't remember. I can't remember. but It's a lot of drinking. And then I think when we stopped and had dinner, it basically was like our crash out.
00:36:30
Speaker
Like not in a warm that what and not in a good way. like everyone Yeah. I don't think we need to have a sit down dinner. No, no sit down dinner here. i think it needs to be a casual...
00:36:41
Speaker
vibe there do have a stand for fish and chips in Canada so like you can totally just get that like to go you don't have to have the sit down dinner so maybe we just set up shop in that little outdoor area and everyone just go find your own meal and bring it like find your own adventure because I'm good with that down meal is that's when the crash out happens That's when the crash happens. That's when I eat those mashed peas. And then we don't make it very long in the dance hall.
00:37:07
Speaker
And I want to make it for a long time in the dance hall because it's a good time. The dance hall is the best people watching experience. All ages. all ages All ages, all stages, all stages everything.
00:37:23
Speaker
everything amazing People coming like straight from the park, people who have just like gone back to their room and changed and like going for a little night out. Like you see yeah everything and it is truly a sight to behold.
00:37:37
Speaker
It's so amazing. And I will say i will give them a shout out because they did move, unfortunately. But Jelly Rolls is opening up their new location soon i'm near Disney. I don't know where, but somewhere somewhere.
00:37:49
Speaker
I know. I've heard it's in like the Lake Buena Vista area. So like not, and it's probably good that it's not in Disney Springs. Then you would like literally never get in But I'm also like, if it's just this one-off place, like, I don't know, like, yeah are you going to go? i don't know. Right.
00:38:04
Speaker
It would have to be like, and Like there has to be other things around there or something. But hopefully the vibes stay good because I've loved jelly rolls. We've closed that shop down before. So, um, but yeah, all good things coming. All good things coming.
00:38:20
Speaker
Lots of things. It's going be a busy, busy, like couple next weeks. Yes. Yeah. My calendar, like I have a new niece and nephew. I think I mentioned that already. I have a new niece and nephew and I'm like, I have no free weekends to go and visit them until like another month. Like I have, I, and I'm like, I feel bad and they're not in the same city. So I have to do two separate trips at some point to go and see them. And I'm like, please like, just, you guys know that I do intend to come see these babies, but I can't. It's just going to take some time at this time. It's just going to take some time. Oh, also, we have a school fundraiser event at the aquarium this week weekend, which I'm so so excited about.

School Galas & Excitement

00:39:06
Speaker
And it's on Friday.
00:39:08
Speaker
And just telling everybody my plans. And the theme is like this like iridescent, like shimmering seas vibe. Is like a gala or...
00:39:19
Speaker
It's a gala. Yeah, but it's not like black tie. It's more like cocktail gala. And I'm so excited. i will send you a picture of my address when I have it together. i got this cute like little seashell bag and i'm excited. I'm like, this is so fun.
00:39:35
Speaker
so we're going to go with some. Yeah, we're going to go with some other friends that we have at the school. and We'll see. Check it out. I love a good school gala, but um our school gala theme this year is Havana Nights. So it's very Cuban theme and lot they have a, i don't know about um their school, but Our school does silent auction. and last year we actually won a bunch of things. We won, we won solar bear tickets, which is the hockey team here. yeah we um what else did we win? We won museum tickets and then all fairly cheap because like we went in like at the last minute, right before and just like added a dollar to everything.
00:40:17
Speaker
Yeah. Yeah. Which we didn't know it was closing right after we went. We just, like, didn't find anything interesting at the time. And then we won, like, a free, like, after-school club for Beckett. Oh, my God. That's nice. Yeah. So I think we're going to go this year. They didn't have one last year. on so think we're going to go this year as well because I'm like, that sounds like It's like a good vibe. But i want what I want to do is I want to like get a group to go and get a table because then you get the unlimited drink package, you get like all this stuff. And I'm like, that's the type of gala vibe I'm going for, especially if you're not like really close with any ah other parents or anything. Just get a table with your friends. yeah yeah They just want people to come support the school.
00:41:00
Speaker
you know like Come silent an auction. And like some of this stuff is like really good. there's like NFL tickets. like so There's like things like big stuff. There's good stuff. So I've already bought like tickets to be able to do like a raffle and then auction tickets. Yeah, you could buy a table. it was like pretty expensive, but you could buy a table so you like secure... Because people come in like this. It's not like designated tables. So anyone can kind of sit anywhere. But if you bought a table, like that is your table. table. so
00:41:31
Speaker
um next year Next year, we'll coordinate our galas. Yeah, um we may have to see how this goes this year. And I may have to invest if I'm like, if we're being split up or like, I can't sit with like the group of parents that I want to.
00:41:43
Speaker
sit with so we're just gonna have see yeah i'm gonna like i'm gonna play with people i'm like i'm just gonna invite my friends i'm like i'm gonna get alienate oh oh my yeah no i'm not inviting people from the school i have i we could do okay we can do that too we can invite friends stars to ours so maybe we like gala that's insane like they just want people to come support the school like to them like they don't care who is coming to the gala what they hear is come silent auction because this money all goes back to the school you know i'm smelling what you're stepping in this is like a gala hop oh this is fun a school gala hop okay and if you live in the area it's a way for them to present their school right like or you know as a potential for your kids if it's someone young or whoever maybe but yeah man yeah the table is that that's what we're gonna do next year i'm gonna send out just like a group in my bank listen a table fits 10 people who's in yeah
00:42:38
Speaker
Let's get a party bus and let's just rally for the school. It's for the children. my God. That would be fun too, to get like a party bus and just show up like vibing. Also, Kenny goes to like a Catholic school. So it's like, you also have to like, but I've seen, I've seen parents get a little loosey goosey at some of the events before where they serve alcohol. So I'm like, they like, they're good. They like to have good time.
00:42:58
Speaker
Everyone knows Catholics are the partiers. So like, there's no need to even justify that because the moment you say like, that means nothing. That just means it's going to even more of a good time. I've heard this. I've heard people get rowdy at this. like This is like their event of the school year, which any school like gala typically is. But sure so, yeah, so we've got some busy weekends ahead, my friend. And I'm going to hope that when we go drink around the world, gal hopping, drink around the world, all the things that they're not serving this wine.
00:43:29
Speaker
Yeah, no. I'm not vibing. I've been drinking my water more than this because I'm just, like, afraid it's going like, truly exacerbate this headache that I've got going on. Yeah, it's going to trigger something you've got going on. Well, I'm kind of sad because I, when I was doing research, I found out that they are the same owners. It's the same, like, company or like, brand of companies as Cote de Rosé.
00:43:50
Speaker
okay Which is, you remember the rosé bottle that had the rose or on the flower on the bottom? Yeah. It's the same, like, family, like, brand of companies. Yeah. I don't think we that one. one i did we not? I thought we did. I don't think we liked that one.
00:44:05
Speaker
I can't remember. That was a while back. I can't remember when we drank that. I can't remember when we drank that either. But I recognize I remember the name because I remember the bottle.
00:44:16
Speaker
A bottle. Oh, it got sixes from us. Okay. So we were okay about it. So maybe this is kind of like on par. I would say, yeah, it's, it's feeling like it's, it's feeling like it may not get my rosé six, but think I did like a 6.2 and you did like a 6.3 for that one.
00:44:38
Speaker
for that one I don't know. Something about this one. Honestly, I'm going honest here. i think it's just the orange wine. I don't think that's my vibe. I think we've struck out. I'm pretty sure I didn't like the first orange wine we tried either.
00:44:52
Speaker
like I'm pretty positive. I need to go back and search. Don't quote me or hold me. you know Don't hold the gun to my head to that answer. Yeah. but um yeah That's my vibe. But do you have a corking in mind?
00:45:03
Speaker
I think I do.
00:45:07
Speaker
Yeah, I think I do. i think I'm ready. How about you? Yeah. Okay. I think I feel like you're like in the gutter.
00:45:17
Speaker
Not fully. I wouldn't say. Okay. okay i'm I'm giving it a 5.8 mainly because i i just, I honestly, I think it's just orange wines are just not my vibe.
00:45:29
Speaker
Yeah. i I very strongly feel like I didn't like the previous orange wines that we've tried as well. So I think that's why, I think it's just not my thing. Yeah. I think I'm realizing it's not my thing.
00:45:40
Speaker
Yeah. Specifically with this Specifically this wine. Well, we're pretty far apart for this one, I will say. I'm 4.9 on this one. um Yeah.
00:45:51
Speaker
Just because, like, I'm not going to drink this again. Yeah. I'm just not. I'm not interested. And it was the first taste was, like, so I was so taken aback by it. Yeah.
00:46:07
Speaker
Yeah. yeah so it's ah it's a 4.9 for me, a 5.8 for you. You guys, listen, our listeners, you take that with what you will. Hopefully, if you have found that you kind of follow our same thinkings, if you've gotten wines that we've suggested before and you also like them, you've tried ones maybe we also haven't liked, yeah maybe we leave this one out.
00:46:29
Speaker
Or maybe you've had an orange wine that is good. Maybe we're just, maybe this is like the whole Chardonnay situation. Like it's us, like we are picking the wrong ones. And if that's the case, please do report because it's clearly us, not the orange wines fault at this point.
00:46:46
Speaker
Yeah, and we'll admit when we're wrong. Do we like to do that? Never. No, but will we? Yes, just like we did with Chardonnay. I think the episode was literally titled a Public Apology to Chardonnay. We let the people know we were sorry. 1,000%. We were wrong.
00:47:03
Speaker
So please speak up. If you're the orange wine girly, like show us what you got. m Prove us wrong. We will be happy to give a public apology to orange wine as well. Step forth. Step forth with your orange wine knowledge.
00:47:18
Speaker
But until then, it sounds like we are busy, busy girlies who will not be... Stepping foot back into this orange wine world over here. Not anytime soon.
00:47:31
Speaker
Not anytime soon. But as for now, that's a wrap. That's our show. That is all the Mama T we have for today. Thank you so much for listening. Don't forget to rate and review us on whatever platform you're listening on. As always, tell all your friends and keep on whining.
00:47:48
Speaker
Cheers.
