Introduction and Season Reflection
00:00:00
Speaker
Welcome to Wine Mama, and podcast where two bestie moms whine while they whine. I'm Jemina. And I'm Annie. Let's whine. And welcome to one of our final few episodes of the season, which is cuckoo bananas to even think about, to even say out loud. We've only got like a hand, like less than a handful left.
00:00:22
Speaker
Literally three episodes left. Literally, including this one. This is 14. Including this one. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, that is so crazy. Time just flies when you're having fun, you know?
00:00:33
Speaker
Listen, we have a good time. As they say. As they say.
Wine of the Week: Banshee Pinot Noir
00:00:38
Speaker
So they say. that I mean, I'm not sure. Like, I i believe that because we we have a good time on here and this episode is going to be fun because we'll have our... our little chitty chats this afternoon, this evening. So yeah, episode 14. Here we are. Remember when I used to say that for every episode, I used make episode seven, episode eight. Here we are. Number 10.
00:01:01
Speaker
we've improved from the counting. So that's a bonus. Thank you for including yourself in that. You said, wait, you know, it was me. we Yeah, it was definitely you. I think I did it like once because I just wanted to keep the trend going at that point. Like it would feel weird not to count the the episode at that rate, you know?
00:01:17
Speaker
It sure would. It sure would. So here we are. i feel like it was right to, was just hard to for me to believe that we're almost at the end of this season. So let's kick it
Banshee Wines Founding Story
00:01:30
Speaker
off. And are you ready to whine with our wine of the week?
00:01:33
Speaker
I'm ready to whine with the wine of the week for sure. And this week we are. Yeah. I mean, honestly, now I'm a little afraid of the wine of the week because... I didn't know if you were going to to say that. We'll get into that, but I'm a little afraid of it. So my quirking may differ because I'm afraid of the wine. But anyways, this week we are drinking Banshee Pinot Noir. So we're going back to our roots of a Pinot Noir. I feel like we have not done one in a very long time, which is pretty shocking.
00:02:05
Speaker
think we're towards Cabernet lately. So I'm excited have Pinot Noir back on the roster. I agree. we've had some We've had some darker wines this season, I feel like. And I i paused when I said, are we ready to wine with the wine of the week? Because I was like, am I going to say it? Is she going to say it? Because before I was like, a banshee. In my mind, I'm like, I think a banshee is like some kind of like ghost or something. and jamina was like i literally was like a monkey maybe you're thinking of a chimpanzee slash like bam bam not bamboo what's the what are those called banshee no back am why what different this other back one are those other ones called what's baboon a baboon and a chimpanzee maybe like in your mind those were like meshing together
00:02:53
Speaker
maybeie So then I looked it up and it was like in like Irish folklore. It's like a a female spirit. And so i i I was like, I don't know do you need to want to say the name of this wine. No, like now I'm afraid of the wine, you guys. i don't mess with spirits.
00:03:09
Speaker
I don't know. She's actually going to give it a 10 out of 10 and she's going to be getting a ghost, a ghost tattoo and we're, I'm going live stream it. Yeah, it's going to happen. I will not disrespect the spirits. I will, you will never catch me disrespecting spirits ever. I know.
00:03:26
Speaker
No, yeah no, absolutely not. But anyways, Banshee Wines was born in 2009 at a bar in San Francisco. With money borrowed from friends and family, the original founders launched Banshee Wines with eight barrels of coveted Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir. The initial intent was to make wines that tasted like the best California had to offer, but were priced so that everyone could enjoy them. Okay. Okay. So this was definitely a couple of friends drunk at the bar being like, let's go. Yeah. Yeah.
00:03:57
Speaker
Like, let's open a winery. Let's make our own wine. mean, 2009, you guys, it hasn't even been around for 20 years. And it's like, oh, man, 20 years feels like a long time. But I feel like for wineries, like, that's a baby. She's just a baby. just a baby. She's just a baby.
00:04:14
Speaker
I know. So after a few years, Banshee migrated up to the small but bustling town of Heidelsburg. help help know ha nott heidelsberg Nope, Nope, Helzburg in the heart of Sonoma County. From there, they've developed strong relationships with the owners and growers of some of the best and most coveted vineyards in Sonoma County. The team strives to make wines with the complexity and deliciousness of those found at the very top of the quality and price scale, but at a price that is affordable for everyone and not just the uber wealthy. So they are really honing in on that affordable factor and it is relatively
Tasting Notes and Personal Experiences
00:04:48
Speaker
affordable. It's between like 23 to bottle. So again, right in that, like,
00:04:55
Speaker
easy, affordable price range. Yeah. Mid range. Mid range. Yeah. Um, I love how it says not just the uber wealthy. What's the other category? Like uber, not just wealthy, but uber, uber wealthy. Also, again, you guys, I was able to edit out last episode, but Greg just like was shouting. The lightning game is on. He's just shouting. So if you hear anything coming through my mic, I'm like, I swear to God, if you not go upstairs and and watch that elsewhere, we're going to have a problem. So if you heard shouting in any part of that,
00:05:30
Speaker
he was i thought it was the kids i thought it was the kids coming downstairs no it is it is the game four of lightning versus the canadians yeah that's what's happening in my house yeah i get i get the enthusiasm so it's totally fine um but anyways an exciting yet friendly wine bursting at the seams with aromas of dried cherry earthy peat moss or pet moss What is that?
00:05:57
Speaker
Peat? Peat? Peat? Anyways, and redwood forest with notes of – oh, God. How do you say this? hy and Hyacinth? Hyacinth? Hyacinth? What is that? See, this is all kinds of souls and spirits. This is like a potion, you guys. Sandalwood and confectioner's sugar – Oh, wait, what? Okay. The flavors combine to create a fruit driven front palette and very subtle oak influence. The finish is bright with a nice pop of acidity and flavors of tart raspberry and bramble to create great weight for an excellent food wine, as well as a charming drinking experience by itself.
00:06:33
Speaker
So there's a, there's a lot of flavors and smells that occurring in this like small snippet that i just read we've got sandalwood we've got potions we've got but potions are being made potions are being brewed we are drinking a spell off we're also baking a cake we have confectioner's sugar like yes there's a lot of things we have redwood forest vibes what's happening I'm a little nervous. I don't speak ill of the spirits. No, this sounds these sound like wonderful blends together.
00:07:11
Speaker
Like the most beautiful potion I'll i'll ever drink. Incredible. You wouldn't even have to coax me on a drink. i would I would drink it. and You don't even have to ask me. I would say yes. I'll volunteer. are You need me to test that out for you?
Life, Parenting, and Personal Stories
00:07:21
Speaker
Me. I'm your girl.
00:07:22
Speaker
Sign me up. Oh, it's a poison apple? Sign me up. Sure. I'll take it. I would never say no to you. Not to the fancy. No, I'd say please and thank you. 1000%. one thousand percent She is dark.
00:07:34
Speaker
She is a little dark for a Pinot Noir, a little darker. Yeah, what's I mean, know like a Pinot Noir. Yeah. Normally they're not this dark, I feel like. I like Pinot Noirs are usually I can even like see through them a little bit more than this.
00:07:47
Speaker
It does smell good. So I am ready to give it a try. Are you? right What do you smell? What's your like when you first take a smell, what's the first thing you smell? I don't I think you have a thought in mind.
00:08:00
Speaker
I do. spirits oh for sure souls that's what was gonna say it sounds like souls what do you actually what do you actually smell no like almost like a uh tart cherry vibe like ah like a i don't know how to describe it like yeah tart a tart cherry soul oh okay Not that I've ever smelled that before, but if I did. But if I did, this would be a little like a sprinkle of sandalwood.
00:08:33
Speaker
Yes. And that pete that pee Pete's P.S. Moss. Yes. Moss. Anyways. Just some things. right. Let's have a smith Let's do it. Cheers. Cheers.
00:08:48
Speaker
Okay. Yeah. Okay. Hold on one more.
00:08:59
Speaker
I mean, that's good. I'm not upset. Yeah. Thank goodness. Because again, the spirits are really. fun Are you kidding me? Even if I hated it, you guys, and we don't.
00:09:11
Speaker
We don't silly Banshee. We, it's very good. Um, the confectioners here confectioner sugar, I was worried about that. I'm like, that's very specific. Like connect confectioners sugar is powdered sugar. And i was like, Ooh, cause that's like sweet. That's sweet.
00:09:30
Speaker
This has a hint of it. It's not a sweet, sweet peanut. It's not like a mayomi or something like that, but it's got like a, um, just the slightest hints of sweet. It's very good. It's a very subtly, I think this would be a great after dinner wine.
00:09:49
Speaker
Like if you wanted that subtle sweetness of something like get you a tiramisu in this. Yeah. That's what I'm feeling. Are we like two for two Last week was wonderful. i know. I finished that bottle last week. I'm going to probably finish this too. And now we're having another fantastic wine. And I love when we get to go. Because like, honestly, it's not hard having an episode with like a bad wine.
00:10:17
Speaker
But it's more fun when you're drinking something that you're enjoying. Like I have seen... You did a clip on um on our socials. I think it was like two or three weeks ago. And the start of the clip, you can see me coming off of a sip of wine. And my face is like, ugh. Yeah.
00:10:36
Speaker
It hurts. It hurts. It hurts. It Yeah. So it's nice to be able to go into an episode, have fun, but also be like, yeah, this wine, we're having a good time. i don't have to worry about my sip and cringing because we're vibing.
00:10:51
Speaker
Me and the topic, me and the wine, we're all besties. Yeah. all We all are intertwined into one. But yeah, anyways, tonight we're just here for chats. You know, we incorporated that a lot this season because one, it's just sometimes fun to just like listen to two people chat because a lot of times when you listen to podcasts, you And you may hear that and you're like, oh my gosh, I think the same thing, you know? And like, it's kind of nice, like be validated that sense. and we, we are honestly really much enjoy just having like random chats about life and what we did and struggles and
00:11:30
Speaker
challenges of the week or triumphs of the week, you know, yeah I'm trying to constantly like in my brain right now, think of a triumph and I cannot, um, lots of challenges. Cause I will gladly share my challenge. Well, I can share with you a challenge and a triumph that triumph that I had. Um, well, the challenge was mine. The triumph, Charlie, Charlie was the winner. in this situation and this should shock absolutely no one so we got her a new little we went to the mall yesterday they needed new shorts specifically kind of needed new shorts um charlie got this cute little like two-piece set and it's super thin for summer i always like get worried about getting a long pant set but it was super thin it was so it's so cute it's light yellow with like yellow or white island it's just so cute so
00:12:23
Speaker
She wanted to wear it today. we were going to a carnival that they do here. um A church does it here in Tampa. It's a very popular carnival every year. And I'm like it's so hot. We're going to be outside. Like we're not, let's do shorts. We can still wear the top. And she was like no, no, no. I'm pulling out the jean shorts. Like we can do white jean shorts with the top.
00:12:42
Speaker
So I put the top on her and I finally get her, i coax her into the jean shorts. And she was like, I don't want this. And I want, I want to put the short, the the pants. I want to put the pants on. I'm like, fine, we'll try the pants on, but it's going to be hot.
00:12:54
Speaker
I literally, right after this confrontation with her, I always call it confrontation. It's not kind all right. after this conversation with her. I went and wrote this down because I was like, you're not real. So she puts the pants on and she looks at me and she's like, now do I look cute?
00:13:12
Speaker
And i look at her like you're like, excuse you. Like, I don't say anything. i just tilt my head. And I'm like, and she goes, yes, I do. And then she turns around, just stares at me like this for a few seconds. Like, are you going to try to take these off me?
00:13:27
Speaker
And then she was like, come on. And goes to go downstairs in her pants. And I was like, left sitting on her bedroom floor. Like, what's see, bitch. Yeah.
00:13:38
Speaker
Like these pants look cute on me. This is what I'm wearing. Bye. i wish the only thing that would make this scenario more perfect is if she walked away, like cat walked away and then turned around, flicked you off and then left. yes Honestly, like you can't put it past her. you guys, she is so naughty. She has started saying, oh my God. And we're like, you can't say that.
00:13:59
Speaker
You can't say that. That's not nice. We're taking the Lord's name in vain. Like call me a terrible person. Call me a terrible parent. It is cute when little people say things are not supposed to. It's cute. Okay. I reprimand my children, but it's cute. And so she'll go, oh my God.
00:14:17
Speaker
And Greg and I are like, did you just say, oh my God? she's like, no, I said, oh my gosh. And she'll just look at us like until we are like, okay. Cause she like knows she'll just stare at us like this. Yeah. Just stare. And then we're like, oh, okay, if that's what you said. And then she said I know in her mind, she's like, don't break, don't break. Oh, okay. Yeah.
00:14:36
Speaker
Okay. That's surely what I said, mother. Thank you so much. and you As she prances away in her little light yellow set. Yes. I'm dead. That's hilarious. That's such a Charlie thing. Like I can totally see her doing that too. I love her so much. um Yeah. No, I literally like we went through the, Oh my God phase too. And an, of course, correct. it Oh my gosh. Like it's okay to say, Oh my gosh. And now, now we're onto, Oh brother.
00:15:07
Speaker
That's a good one. So I'm like, I'm okay with her brother. Like, yeah, that's like, just redirection because I'm with you. Like, it is so cute and funny, but like at the end of the day, like if they're at school or something like, you know, they, you know, you just, you know, you're trying to raise like good humans at the end of the day. Right. And cause you know where they're getting it from.
00:15:28
Speaker
You don't wear, yeah. look Look at yourself in the mirror. You're the person who says it. They're picking it up from you. yeah, that's what we're going through. So, attitude central over at my house.
00:15:41
Speaker
Man, I feel that, though. It's literally like sass city. Like, I just sometimes, i like to remind Avery, you know, what's that one song? Girl, I ain't trying to be mean, but before you, there was me.
00:15:56
Speaker
you lost. Who you talking to that way? because Because her favorite word right now is no. Everything is no. No, no. And then she's starting to be like, I don't like you or stuff like that. And I'm like, oh, don't.
00:16:11
Speaker
You've got to think I'm in my girly squirrely. Yeah. I'm like, you think I'm not going to wash your mouth out with soap? Ask your brother. He's had his mouth washed out with soap. And thrice was enough for him to never speak back or say things like that again. so um and becca be like yeah it's not fun avery don't do it like he's like um yeah like no what like where is this even coming from because like that stuff like that i don't know where she's getting from because yeah it's got to be like little tv shows like you know we had to stop some we had to stop some tv shows because you guys like i'm like who the hell is writing these tv shows that we think like
00:16:50
Speaker
Some of this stuff in them is like good for them to watch. So we've actually had her start, start watching some shows that Aubrey used to watch when she was younger, because I have found that some of those are a little bit better in dialogue than some of like the newer, which ones. So we watch, um, we watched the Thundermans on Netflix and there's like some parts, there's some shows where it's like, what is happening? And then we watch, we started watching Jesse again because Jesse is just like, don't want say pun after pun, but it's just like so constantly like them being like saying silly things and like, nah.
00:17:32
Speaker
Like the nanny Jesse from Disney? Yes. okay yeah okay you just say yeah yeah that one yeah so i'll probably then get her into camp kiki waka because that came and can't keep camp kiki yes i think that came after after jesse and yes there's some stuff where it's like that's kind of that's a little mean but like some of these shows you guys it's like yeah mean stuff that the kids are saying to me and that's like part of the learning lesson right but i'm like oh i don't know there needs to be a lesson at the end yeah it's gotten into Hannah Montana which honestly I grew up on Hannah Montana so I'm totally fine with her yeah learning Hannah Montana so we do listen to a lot of Hannah Montana right now and I'm not hating it I'm not hating it like I'm cool with it girly but you know there are so many shows like oh my god I thought you were gonna say like Max and Ruby because I remember when Aubrey would watch that and I'm like oh my god watching this and we've we have an entire episode on kids tv shows that we should approve of what
00:18:31
Speaker
And Max and Ruby are all there. We talk about Max Ruby because it's like, again, where where's mommy and daddy? Where are their parents? Yeah. Where are their parents? And honestly, like, and Avery does like Peppa Pig, but even some episodes of Peppa Pig, I'm like, let's watch Bluey instead. Like, Bluey's always like, let's use our imagination. Let's get creative. So thank God they love Bluey. um Give me Bluey all day.
00:18:56
Speaker
One of our favorite shows though story bots. Like if I ever, like, I will never say no to story bots. Like we watched that tonight before bed and I'm like, absolutely go for it. But yeah, that's what we're dealing with. You know, we're dealing with three niners. I mean, almost four over there, but what's, what's the vibe? What does she want to do for birthday? What does for her birthday?
00:19:16
Speaker
My gosh. I, well, she wants probably everything in the world for her birthday and to rule, to rule the universe, honestly. um World domination. World domination. She's a world peace and world exploitation. Like she's literally just, if she could rule the world, that would be her biggest birthday wish. But she wants to have it at the house, but she wants to like, we're inviting her class and like family friends. And I'm like, o we can't like, it's just too much at the house. Like it's just too many people. So I'm trying to have it elsewhere.
00:19:51
Speaker
and she's kind of fighting me on that. She wants to have it at the house because her sisters had theirs both at the house. So I get that. And I wanted to do like a whole like kids DJ thing for an hour and do like glow sticks and all this like fun stuff. But I'm like, it's just too much to have like so many people there. Like I just need it. You just got to let me think on that one. But either way, I think we're going have it at like a game place here and do that. She originally wanted to be superhero themed. And I'm like, okay, but like, are you going to really like that? Like, I'm not going to tell you what to do. Right. I was like, okay. like, all right, we can do superhero theme.
00:20:28
Speaker
What are some other themes that you might like? And she said, Belle, and she has said Belle before. She loves Belle. She knows I, that's my favorite girly. And so we're now stuck on Belle. I've asked her like a handful of times since and she still says Belle. I'm like, okay, we're going to run. We're going to run with Belle.
00:20:47
Speaker
So we'll see. um Again, thought maybe she would want like super kitties. Maybe that's what she meant by superheroes because doesn't she really like super kitties? She loves super kitties, but no, she was thinking superhero. She likes like Spidey and his like Spidey. Spidey and friends. Spidey and friends. Yes. Loves ghost spider. Cause that's the girl. And so so yeah, I was like, okay, maybe I turn this into like a Spidey and his friend's birthday. But then when she landed on bell and has continued to say bell. Yeah. I'm like, okay, that I'm like, let's, let's do this. But to give you guys an idea, like she is dead set on being Maleficent for Halloween. Like I know we're so far away from Halloween. But she will not stop. Stop. let's Villains. Avery wants to be Corolla. So, like, you know how she feels about the villains. Avery's, like, obsessed with the villains, you guys. like That would be cute.
00:21:38
Speaker
is obsessed. She has, like, little plush dolls of villains that she sleeps with, which is a little concerning. But, oh my gosh, I love that. Yes. Let her be Maleficent. I have the horns if she needs to borrow. I already have like the horns for Maleficent if she needs. Oh, amazing. Okay, perfect. that Yes, I do because I'm like, okay, i got it. Like we got to go like full, like I'm going to get a crow like for her shoulder. Like we're doing the full, the full shebang bang. 1000%.
00:22:02
Speaker
one thousand percent i will I will give it to you. and We bought it last year during Halloween sale. We saw it. And this is so Avery coated. Like I asked her if she wanted this like princess dress or like crown type thing. And she was like, no, I want the Maleficent horns.
00:22:18
Speaker
Stop. i love the of their horns I love that. that. Well, we will use those. Yeah. Love that. She would be the cutest little Maleficent. absolutely approve i know i'm trying to convince i'm trying to convince um beckett's very much like we can't be bad guys no bad guys ever but like you guys i think it's come to an end our family costumes which i have to accept because we did end on a high note which was the greatest showman as our last final because beckett is like very much pushing like well we can all be whatever we want this year and i'm like
00:22:52
Speaker
my god it's over are you sure and i was like well if you pick a topic like maybe we can all find something like i mean we'll see we'll see like no promises but but i'm trying like if like i even try i was like okay well ava really wants to be like what if we're like dalmatians and she's all out like that's fine he's like no they can't be a bad person so i'm like my god just i'll give up like he's just the ultimate firstborn like can't have a villain like stop whatever but oh my gosh i love that i love but okay but if she he can do like we've done that before where like one person is like their own thing and then you and but like literally could you imagine if you and ben were jasper and horace and she was cruella oh my gosh done you imagine like you just need a brown outfit you need a brown outfit and one of those little hats and like some so what snoot smooth what's the thing in the fireplace and then i'm sure you have a um you can borrow my dummy just
00:23:47
Speaker
have i like a plush dalmatian puppy oh like yeah we have we have one how like funny would that be okay love that i mean i'm like it breaks my heart that beckett wants to deviate from our literally tradition since he's been born so i mean seven years is a good run i'll give it like you had yeah you you had your you had a long long run like we didn't even it like kennedy was breaking free after after a while she's like no i don't listen beckett's gonna be like pikachu or charizard like mr pokemon himself so i know he wants to like do some sort of pokemon but then tonight he was like let's be safari animals so i'm like okay well we can all do that like i'll be like a safari like he's like well mom we can do whatever we want remember and i'm like
00:24:31
Speaker
like, have you ever seen any Dalmatian on a safari? Yeah, like they're there too. It's an animal, you know, like no. But um yeah. In other breaking news, um i chopped all my hair off. So that is my only triumph, I guess, of the week. Stop it.
00:24:49
Speaker
I mean, I don't, well, I don't know if I would call it a triumph. i It had to be done um because I shared. It looks so good. I know. It just has to be, you know, like when you have short hair, you just like have to style it. So I don't know, but I know i literally still haven't washed it since like the girl did it. So it looks like trash right now. But anyways, you know how we were talking about with every triumph, there comes a challenge and I shared online, but essentially you guys, I've been losing my hair like badly. And I'm going to share this in case anyone else can relate, but like,
00:25:24
Speaker
It's very bad. Like I can't brush my hair without it being like a wad of hair in my hands. I can't wash my hair without it being like a wad in my hands. It's to the point that you can see like the sides of my hair. Like it's just bad. So long story short, about a year ago, actually when I was pregnant with Beckett, I had like low iron, like anemia problems and I was supposed to take iron and blah, blah, blah. But that can happen when you're pregnant. Very normal. A lot of pregnant women become anemic.
00:25:52
Speaker
Apparently I've always
Health and Hair Care Journey
00:25:53
Speaker
been anemic. I think this is just a me issue because a year ago I did my annual blood work and my iron was low and I just like didn't do anything about it. Like my doctor even was like, you know how they like message you after your labs and like, Hey,
00:26:08
Speaker
everything's normal except ABC and this is what I recommend. Anyways, he recommended stuff, of course. He put more blood work for me to recheck after his recommendations. I like the good patient. I am not. um Ignored it and didn't do anything about it. and Pause. I'm going to pause you. She is in the healthcare field. Just a yeah reminder for anyone doesn't know. she is She is in the healthcare field. Yeah. And just everybody, I mean, any healthcare care person listening right now knows that healthcare care people are the worst patients. Like,
00:26:38
Speaker
worse. Well, I'm saying that because like, that's, I'm saying that because like so many people do that, right? So many people are like, okay, cool. And toss it to the side. Like, I checked the list. Like i'm I'm good. So like, I'm just saying that because like you are in healthcare and even you are like, kind of put it to the, to the side for the time being. but for the side Yeah. And like, I always like was, um I was always very tired. And again, like I have two little kids. I work full time. i you know I'm a busy person. I keep my schedule busy. I do it to myself. So I just always thought, okay, I'm constantly falling asleep early because of this. I'm constantly taking naps because of my busy life. No, guys, it's my iron. So I have issues. i am like officially anemic type of vibes. And I researched it because I thought like,
00:27:26
Speaker
I went also on like a health journey. So I lost a bunch of weight. So I thought maybe like my hormones were out of jack. Like I was like, why am I losing all this hair? come to find out for anyone who doesn't know, but iron deficiency is like one of like the top causes of hair loss in women. Like I had no freaking clue and I've been going this entire like year and a half ignoring it. And now I'm like paying the repercussions of it basically. um And it's not just iron. Like you have to take a vitamin C with it because vitamin C helps absorb the iron. And like, right anyways, I'm on my, I was on my health journey. Now I'm on my hair journey.
00:28:05
Speaker
um All the journeys, but they' all things are going to be looking up soon because that's why you you said you chopped your hair because it helps with the, it'll help with the growth.
00:28:17
Speaker
So yeah. So according to my research, um people with thinning fine hair, benefit from a blunt cut better than keeping it long because the long the length can help can weigh it down right and that is the issue like when you weigh something down the strands come out um so i literally that's what i did i went to the hairstylist and i told her was like listen per my research on ticky tocky and yes guys I seldomly go on Tiki Talkie under Y Mama still. Like I'm i'm learning. It's still very hard for me to remember to go there. It's a good search engine. It is. I'm i'm getting better.
00:28:59
Speaker
And sure enough, its said everything that I looked was like blunt cut, face framing if you want something. So that's what I did. And I told the hairdresser that. And she was like, yeah, that's correct. because And you can tell. Like people that have fine hair, you can tell like the stringiness. And and And it was honestly like sad. Like my ponytail was like literally like so tiny. It was probably like tied. And this is not an exaggeration.
00:29:26
Speaker
Tied. If you put two pencils together, that was my entire like my entire set of hair. It probably still is. Like it just feels, but now that it's, you know, healthy and short, but here's my next thing guys. Okay. So when you have short hair, you have to style it.
00:29:41
Speaker
You can't wash it and let it be free. So now I'm on a whole, like, what the hell kind of products do I need to buy? Because these products have to be beneficial for my scalp, for my hair. Like I used to be, I take Nutrafol. That's part of my little journey. Um, but I went and bought a, um,
00:30:01
Speaker
Because if you know me, I don't blow dry my hair ever. Breaking news. I know this is shocking to a lot of people because women all around the world, but like that's the first thing they do is blow dry their hair.
00:30:12
Speaker
i literally still have the pink cover girl, cover girl looking hair dryer. Like I just never use it. And I only pull that out for guests because I never use it. Yeah. Yeah. Me. Yeah. Literally Annie, when she comes over and i was like, okay, well I need something. So I bought one of those, like, is it a round brush type hairdryer, I guess like for blowouts. Okay.
00:30:34
Speaker
So I bought that. i bought things I've heard great things too. I bought the Lange, Lange, Lange. Oh, it's an L apostrophe N, and Angie.
00:30:47
Speaker
Yes. Whatever. you lawn yeah whatever i'm so i start I'm going to start with that. But then, of course, like I don't want to put heat in my hair. I didn't dye my hair or I didn't get anything to it because I wanted to get to its maximum health before I can like go get like low lights or highlights or whatever.
00:31:04
Speaker
But heat is also very damaging to hair. So like I'm super scared to... do that but i chopped my hair off so i freaking have to like style it so i will let you guys know how it goes i did buy the color wow dream coat i don't know if you have heard of this no what is it it's like i'm sure you have seen it like if i were to show it to you you'd be oh i know exactly what it is it's literally like this viral like hair coating. I don't know, but essentially you put it on, on your wet hair and it's activated by heat. So it's also like a heat protected, but it helps give you volume. Um, it just makes your hair shiny and healthy and all this stuff. So I bought like the little, you know how like they can sell like the little sample size at like Ulta. Target has it, by the way, as well. So I bought it from Target. And um yeah, so I'll let you guys know how that hair journey goes because I've got my hair oils now. I do use the Amica.
00:32:00
Speaker
All the things. I will shout out because I feel like this is another hair mask that everyone should use and love because it's so easy and low-maintenance. And it's the Amica Dream Routine or something like that.
00:32:12
Speaker
Nighttime routine. Their products smell like... heaven the best the best and the best part about this one you guys is you don't have to wash your hair you literally just put you like put it on like you know mid-length down you go to bed you wake up your hair is hydrated it's shiny it's not okay i'm gonna be on my favorite things next year so don't take it okay i like that actually no i feel like someone else should do it because i i did a hair product
00:32:47
Speaker
Okay. Well, let me try it. I'm on hair journey. You know, like, everyone's making hair product. Let it. And if I like it and you don't want to do it, then I'll do it for you. I'll be like, well, this is kind of Jemina's, but now it's mine because she didn't want to do hair product.
00:33:00
Speaker
yeah I don't want to do another hair product, but like you guys, it is. And ah and it's also another, um because I did the Divi one last week. Yeah, so if you did to me. But I just love that you don't have to. I'm trying to see what it's called. Wash it out. model yeah In the brand. I don't know. You said Amika. I don't know how to pronounce it. It's A-M-I-K-A. And it's those like super colorful. Like I think lots of like dots all over. It's like super colorful. laurels Yes. You guys know. Like if you see it, you're like, oh, that's it. You you would recognize it.
00:33:34
Speaker
Yeah. Yeah. The dream routine overnight hydration treatment. You guys do not sleep on this. Like actually do sleep in it because that is what you have to do. You literally sleep on it. But ah you don't have to wash your hair the next day. Like it's really already like set in in beautification mode. Yeah. But yeah anyways, thanks so much for coming to my talk talk about my hair, um prayers and thoughts. And honestly, recommendations are appreciated
Shopping Adventures and Consumer Behavior
00:33:59
Speaker
at this time. I've gotten a few recommendations already as far as like supplements that I can also add to my routine. um I'm proud to say I am taking an iron pill.
00:34:09
Speaker
Shout out ritual. Listen, we're back on we're back on track now that it's like a... Right. Well, the sad thing is, was yeah, like I think everyone needs to learn from me, though, because like don't let it get to a point of no return. Like thankfully, I think I'm halfway to the return. I wasn't fully like gone um off of that. But like treat your labs and your health seriously. Don't just think it's nothing um because,
00:34:40
Speaker
Now I'm paying the repercussions of it, right? like i Like if you guys see me in a wig, then you know, it's gone too far. Like nothing worked like I've gone off the deep end to the point, but you know what? Like that's what Danny, um that influencer did. Like she, in order to repair her growth, like of hair, She did no heat for a year, nothing to her hair. and that's how she developed Divi.
00:35:03
Speaker
So Catch me developing a product. this iron piece You've got this. It's going to be iron pills along with this ah hair mask that you can, that you can sleep in, but you're on the up and up. Listen, if you need some hair, you know where I live, literallyly where to find me. And i'd be just shave like your bottom layer. And like that could be,
00:35:26
Speaker
my extension. Just take like a patch back here. And I mean, the color could blend right in. Right. So it'd be like low lights, like natural low lights. Like no, truly this is natural. This is natural. is her him We implanted her hair. tomorrow Can you do that?
00:35:46
Speaker
I have no idea. I have literally no idea how that works. Like I know that you do it like with your own hair, but can you like take a buddy and be like, well, I want her hair.
00:35:58
Speaker
would they do that that's a wonderful question i want to google that and see i feel like it probably costs more because like i mean if you're taking your own hair don't do have to like they can't just like pull it's not just pulling hair out right like or it's like taking like no they like fine like it's like at the root even like take pieces and then and plant but i'm like okay but i want like her thickness like would that work or like would my body reject it because it's not my own follicles Oh, I don't know. Wouldn't that be weird? And like all that, that only that like specific hair started like falling out because your body was like, no, that is, that's not ours. These are not natural follicles from that we created.
00:36:39
Speaker
The body's weird. It could, the body. Sound off. you Sound off. If you know the answer to this. Yeah. Let us know. You guys know where to find us in our, in our messages. Like you just let us know. Or you guys make, Hey, you're idiots. Yeah.
00:36:55
Speaker
That's not even a thing. Yeah. We accept those comments too. We accept them and then we block them because we don't think we're idiots, but we accept them nonetheless. You just, you're going to find yourself blocked.
00:37:06
Speaker
Yeah. If you can't see our stuff anymore, then you know why. Yeah. You know, you know what you did. But speaking of products, Aubrey swindled me in to The park drop.
00:37:18
Speaker
The park. Oh, Target. The park and Target drop. So I honestly didn't even know it was coming to Target a couple days before. She was like, can we please do the early morning Saturday, like, wait in line at Target? Yeah. And I was like, no. What are they? Rope dropping Target. And I was like, no. Yeah.
00:37:39
Speaker
i was like, that's so silly. We're not going to do that. She's like, mom, please. And it's one of those moments where it's like, why not? Like, why? Like, it's just one of those like fun things where, I don't know. um i wouldn't say it was fun, but it was our first time that we've done. It was quality time together. So it was fun in that sense.
00:37:57
Speaker
I will say that the way our target did it, I've seen some videos of people like running And I was like, that's cuckoo bananas. The security guard came out a few minutes before. We got there an hour earlier. We were maybe like 12, 15, 16.
00:38:13
Speaker
twelve fifteen sixty We weren't that far back. it was like We were in a really good spot. And the security guard came out a few minutes before and he was like kind of like laying down on the wall. He was like, the doors will open. i will escort you to the area that they are in. There is no running. There is no pushing. It's maximum of four sweatshirts per person, which I thought was like,
00:38:34
Speaker
wild. In my opinion, it should be two, but I mean, I don't make the target rules, right? Or else why I'd be a bajillionaire, right? But four sweatshirts per person. i was like, again, who the hell is buying four? That's so gluttonous to me. um And so we walked in and we kind of like, I knew what Aubrey wanted. like We kind of knew what we wanted. and so Aubrey was in one section. i was in another trying to like grab the accessories and it was so bananas. I got stuck against cause I was like at Iraq and I got stuck there because people are trying to get to it. So you can't get out.
00:39:12
Speaker
So I'm just like, my God. And this girl was like, yeah and I'm like, well, you guys, I'm the shortest person in the world. And this girl's like, are you trying to get out? i was like, yes. So she could like switch with me and get my spot. But I literally was trapped. I was like, I can't get out.
00:39:25
Speaker
Aubrey was getting the sweatshirts. Whereas where a lot of people ran to because that was like the hot thing, right? Is park is known for their sweatshirts. And so she was able to grab what she wanted. And then I went after like, we, I was like, listen, I'm just here for the $5 claw clips. I mean, just want the claw clips and she wouldn't look. jane Yeah. That's like literally what I wanted. But I mean, I, she got like pushed by this like big lady, like pushed her out of the way. And they were people with just like armfuls of stuff. And I'm not judging you if you're listening to this and you're one of those people like, I'm not, not judging in any way.
00:40:02
Speaker
Because there were so many people. But I just found it Yeah. I just found it so crazy. Like we walked away because I was like, well, i actually have to shop. Like I got to go get a basket now because we went and did that.
00:40:15
Speaker
i was like, i actually have so up some stuff to get. we go get a basket and we start walking. And um there's this woman and her daughter. They were the first ones in line. And hold on. I have to cough.
00:40:27
Speaker
I'm dying. So I just cut that out. But I didn't like mute myself. And Jamina got so uncomfortable. She's like, I can hear you coughing. Like, do you know? I don't know if that was your intention. Do you know that? you I figured so was going to cut it out. I was like, let me need to mute myself. I'm just going annoy Jamina by coughing at my microphone. bet you It was the one and her daughter. They were the first ones in line.
00:40:48
Speaker
We start walking by and they were in the next section over, like in the accessory section. They had all of their stuff on the floor going through everything. And there were like a couple of people standing by, like ready to grab what they didn't want. But you guys, the amount of stuff that they had was unbelievable to me. It was all over the floor. It was everything, everything, multiple sizes and things like everything.
00:41:12
Speaker
And then... Aubrey and I, like, I wanted this. I was like, okay, like, I won't i do want – I liked this red shirt. Yeah, the crew neck vibe. Yeah. Yeah, I like this. And then Aubrey wanted one of, like, the true, like, mock neck sweaters. So I grabbed the gray because that's kind of, like, where I was. And she grabbed the navy and then this red sweater.
00:41:32
Speaker
And we were in another, like, section. I was like, I will buy two of the sweaters. If you want another one, you have to buy it And she's I don't need to. Like, I'm going to put one back. And this woman walks by and she's like, do you happen to be putting – one of those back and aubrey was like i think so like i just i need to choose and she was like okay like just like just let me know and kind of stood away like waiting to see if aubrey was gonna put one back and so aubrey ended up was like here here you go and gave it to her and she's daughter's gonna be so happy it was this mom who went for the drop obviously was late didn't get anything we saw her at checkout and that was literally the only thing that she got and so it was just like the best feeling it's like you see these people who are
00:42:09
Speaker
arm pulls and pushing and shoving it. There was like a shelf that like fell. Like there was a crash at one time because a shelf, I swear to God. Oh my gosh. Yes. Yes. I shit you not. There was like a flat shelf. i don't know what the hell was on it. I guess it was like under the sweatshirts and it fell because people were just so crazy. But like you see people getting all this stuff and this one woman who had gone to try try to get her daughter or something happened to get something because we were putting something back. Right. And that was the, again, we saw her at self checkout and that was the,
00:42:39
Speaker
only thing she got and like we were like leaving at the same time and she was like thank you again and I'm like oh my gosh it's just it's just crazy the well the two kinds of people that show up right yeah It is pretty crazy.
00:42:51
Speaker
First and last time. First and last time. i can't. No. These drops are insane. I mean, like for. And then they the way that they do it is different, right? Because like sometimes they'll release it online and you can buy it online like 3 a.m. or something like that. Or sometimes they'll be like, all right, it'll be available online the next day. Like for the Kate Spade collection, it was available online at 3 a.m. So I set an alarm and I bought things and then they got just shipped to my house.
00:43:20
Speaker
But I learned my lesson with Stony Clover. I did that for Stony Clover. i was there when it opened and it was madness. I mean, nobody was like pushing each other out of the way and no shells definitely did not fall. But like, yeah, it's like insane. Like it's so crazy. Like it's just mad. It's maddening. It's crazy because it's not like it's in a so very small area, right? Like it's not like it's like this massive like department area. It is in a small area. And so – Yeah.
00:43:50
Speaker
Yeah. I mean, some people in line, they were like, yeah, I'm going for this because i got X, Y, and Z during the 3 a.m. drop, but I didn't get X. And like, that's what I want. And so, but apparently the the online drop went in like seconds.
Wine Review and Comparisons
00:44:04
Speaker
I going to say not even minutes, like seconds. So anywho, first and last time for anyone who got anything, congrats to you because it really was cuckoo bananas. It crazy. So um it's got to be really good. It's got to be like nah Rolls Royce times Target if I'm doing that again. Okay. So, yeah. And and like if you wait out the week too, as I yawn, if you wait out the week, Like some people go back and return. So you may see your item back in stock. So like you never know.
00:44:37
Speaker
never know. and like the pushing and shoving, like guys, it's not that serious. It's not. like It's really not that serious. I did this because i knew that she, she loves park.
00:44:48
Speaker
I knew she wanted to go and I'm like, why not? Like, let's just do it. Like I'll, I'll go with you. But again, we didn't get crazy with it. And some people- It's like the Roller Rabbit. Roller Rabbit was recent too. That collab. And that collab was also very crazy. I saw some videos of that and I was like, I'm scared. Like, what is going to happen? But again, our target handled it really, really well. And he was like, you're gonna follow me.
00:45:10
Speaker
I'm going walk you to this section. There's no running. There's no pushing. And so they walk and they literally walk you right up to the section. And then, of course, people are like, kind of like filtering it. Yeah. So- anyways wow I know you survived it and that's what matters yes sorry that was a really long story but I was just like I guess because it was my if I had done this time and time again I'd be like oh yeah we did it again but like since it was my first one I was like a little little I don't know yeah and that's how you learn to just wake up for the 3 a.m. online job like set an alarm yeah that's how that's what did for Kate Spade because that was my second yeah after um two Aubrey was like Aubrey was like no I'm not doing that again so even Aubrey was like yeah
00:45:52
Speaker
I think the first like collab they ever did was Lily Pulitzer. And I remember hearing from my neighbors, like how insane the Lily Pulitzer drop was at Target, like insane.
00:46:04
Speaker
But honestly, like shout out to these brands. Like, thank you so much for coming to Target and making it affordable for everybody. i was just about to say that. I'm like, it is the coolest thing that they do that because these brands, like, I mean, I can't afford some of those brands, right? Like ah on a daily basis. So having them in Target,
00:46:21
Speaker
is yeah thank you so much it's really cool now i mean we did find this wine and we're talking about target i mean this is i mean where i'm listen i'm wearing target red um this is not sponsored by target but it'd be cool if it was if they did yeah be of was yeah i spent a lot of money there so know i know cool be cool if you did yeah i mean just even even just even a bottle of this this banshee banshee pina noir i'd take another bottle That's good. I've been sipping along. I was going to say, did you just finish it? Yeah, I saw that.
00:46:56
Speaker
That's two weeks in a row you finished the final sip. um so fine Before we cork. I mean, you usually are kind of like, ta yeah, you're usually kind of like, until we cork. Well, yeah. Normally I like try to save some, but like this one's like so good. And, you know, the bottle's out there for me. So I know there's more tips.
00:47:14
Speaker
But i think I think I know where I'm corking, like where I'm teeter-tottering little bit. right Okay. um So that's why felt comfortable taking that final sip. Okay. Wow. She's ready. How long have you had your cork for? For like since you...
00:47:28
Speaker
a while no like midway oh midway yeah and it wasn't an initial like the initial was like oh this is good but like it like midway as i was sipping through the episode i was like oh you know what it's getting better yeah it's getting better this is a good one um i think i know i think i know my corking you don't sound confident no i think i do i think i'm ready I'm like comparing it to, i mean, last week was so different, right? it was It's red and white. They're very different. And I'm like, day but I i know.
00:48:04
Speaker
I'm feeling confident. I am giving this. You don't sound
Anniversaries and Future Plans
00:48:08
Speaker
confident. So I'm like, I'm curious to see what you're going to say. Cause you're just like, i I think I'm ready. i think say it with your chest.
00:48:15
Speaker
I am the most indecisive person in the entire universe. We know this. We know this. I need like reassurance, but my myself is giving myself reassurance and me, myself and I are giving this wine and 8.8.
00:48:33
Speaker
Oh, okay. yeah Well, yours is higher than mine. Mine was an 8.5. Okay. okay Not mouth super off. Yeah. Not super off. um But definitely, definitely a great, great option. And honestly, a great option for people who like Pinot Noir, but kind of want a more more dark vibe. Because like we said, this one's more of like a dark, like it's almost like a third cousin of the Cabernet.
00:48:59
Speaker
Okay. Okay. Yeah. i think that's a good description for this one. Maybe like the spirit of Cabernet. The soul Cabernet. anyway But a nice one. A nice one. A really sweet one. Sweet, kind, gentle. If they're listening, you just so you know, we like the wine.
00:49:21
Speaker
Anything above an eight is just fantastic. It really is. I mean, it really is. Please don't come to me in my dreams. I cannot wait. I cannot wait. You guys, Jamina has the most insane, insane dreams. It's like she says this stuff like to me and I'm like, are you – like what drugs did you take? She doesn't take drugs. But what drugs did you – no, she doesn't.
00:49:44
Speaker
It's brain. Like what happened to you? And so I cannot wait to wake up and get a text in the morning about, well, the Banshee came and i went on a trip to Antarctica and then – You know what it's going to be. I can only it's going be.
00:49:59
Speaker
It's going to be like the Harry Potter train scene and the Banshees. Like that's. The Dementors. It's giving Dementor. It's giving Dementor. But you're not though. You're not. You're an angel.
00:50:11
Speaker
Angel soul. Yeah. Um, just want to put that out there on record. Um, but like, that's like the vibe I'm getting from my dream because it's always usually like the last thing I think about.
00:50:23
Speaker
And then that's like, it gets twisted into a dream. Well, I mean the pictures that I was pulling up when I was like, Cause I was like, I think it's a ghost. like I think it's a monkey. So when I Googled, like, what is a Banshee? I was like, it's giving, it's giving spooky.
00:50:37
Speaker
Like silly. She's silly and sweet. She's so scary. silly and sweet. And like maybe she could be a monkey one day. Like the cute one, you know, that you can have as a pet. like Like the one on Friends, you know. Marcel. Marcel. Marcel. Yes.
00:50:53
Speaker
Literally Marcel. So anyways. Yeah. Well, any final words for our Chitty Chats? I feel like we've just been rambling per usual. Like the norm. We have been rambling. no final words. Just everyone have a wonderful week. Again, we have two more episodes left. um And i believe, are we coming up on? No. This weekend we're doing...
00:51:18
Speaker
drinking around the world. and then the weekend after that is Mother's Day. So I will save my, was gonna say happy Mother's Day, but it's not. So I'll just i'll just zip the lip for for now. Oh, I do have my, um I celebrate 10 years on Thursday. 10 years of marriage.
00:51:38
Speaker
Yeah. that's And i have no um but I have no wise words of wisdom there. i don't. Marriage is hard. Marriage is hard. hard wise It's hard. Yeah. And if you say you're it's not hard, then you just have a really good therapist.
00:51:54
Speaker
You have a really good therapist. Listen, 10 years is, I'm proud of that. So bet. As you should. Listen. 10 years. that's That's two whole hands, baby.
00:52:06
Speaker
two, two whole hands. so So, that's that. It's a long time to be long person. That's a long ass time.
Episode Wrap-up and Future Preview
00:52:13
Speaker
That's a long ass time. Oh, well, happy early anniversary. Any, any plans, any vibes, any good dinners?
00:52:21
Speaker
We are, yes, we are doing dinner on our anniversary. I was trying to plan a little bit of something this week to then go into drinking around the world with everybody, but everywhere I was looking at, I was like the amount of money I want to put towards something for 10 years. Yeah. Isn't anywhere that I want to go and spend a few days. It just like, nothing was exciting me. Like, Oh my God, going book. This is to be great. So I just stopped trying to, like, I was just exhausting my mind.
00:52:50
Speaker
So we're going to nice dinner. Um, I'm going to get him a little, a little something I have in mind um, it doesn't listen. You can tell us. No, no, he doesn't listen.
00:53:02
Speaker
ah So, but so you can tell they used to and then then when they just heard us just did did to to it did it it it it all the time. They were like, Oh my God, I hear this every day. And now I'm listening podcast to the podcast too.
00:53:15
Speaker
Yeah. wanted So the we've got a kid free, like couple days. So hanging with friends, And we're going to try to do something this this summer. We have a big trip possibly coming up next year if it works out for a friend's wedding. So we're just going to – we're going table it for now. Save it.
00:53:35
Speaker
Table it. Love that. Who's getting married where? Now I'm nosy. Chronically nosy. You can't. oh ah it's It's all if it works out with timing. The timing has to be like to a T. Christine. Jordan.
00:53:47
Speaker
Nick's brother. Oh, okay. They are doing a destination destination wedding in Scotland. Oh, snap. Amazing. you guys, if you guys have listened to us, you know we love Scotland. we went on the best.
