Introduction and Easter Meetup

00:00:05
Speaker
Well, hello and welcome to the latest episode of the Purple Door Podcast, a friend's rewatch pod. I am one of your hosts, Alistair, alongside my good friend, D&D. How are you today?
00:00:17
Speaker
I'm great, Al. um Hey, I'm going to switch my internet real quick because all of a sudden it's robot-y sounding. And you just cut out on this end, so I will just talk for a second while you do that.
00:00:32
Speaker
It is Easter Sunday here, and actually Deanne and I, along with Kate and a couple of friends, hung out yesterday. It's the first time in a while we've hung out in person.
00:00:43
Speaker
um So we went into Dallas, and let's see, I think Woolison may be back. I am back. All right. Sorry about that.

Darkfield Experience and Weather

00:00:53
Speaker
You're fine. I was just telling our listeners that we went and did this, a dark field experience.
00:00:58
Speaker
I don't think we can describe it. Just Google dark field, Dallas. and It's in other places too. yeah go to TikTok. Go to TikTok, type in dark field, and then watch the videos.
00:01:13
Speaker
There you go. That was kind of what got us hooked and went there. And I am not sad that we went. But I am a little trippy about it.
00:01:24
Speaker
It's very strange, and I don't mean that in a bad way. I think their only had advertising, their only marketing is through social media. um So, because he kind of said, did you hear about us on Facebook, Instagram, or TikTok?
00:01:38
Speaker
Like, that was it. And everyone's hands kind of went up to one of those. Or were you just dragged here by somebody else? So, I don't think they do anything else other than social media. And clearly, they're doing it well.
00:01:50
Speaker
um So yeah, check out Darkfield. um Definitely a really interesting, unique experience. So definitely do that. be a Happy Easter to all of you guys out there. been a beautiful day in North Texas.
00:02:05
Speaker
um Dee and I just caught up about what we've been doing today. Nothing terribly exciting, but lovely weather that always makes for a wonderful day.
00:02:16
Speaker
It does, and it started out nasty. It did start out nasty, but then it ended up great for some Easter egg hunting and running around outside and time with family. It that was great.
00:02:31
Speaker
Yeah, it was pretty cloudy and rainy this morning. It's a lovely afternoon. i mean, not very not very Easter-ish, but I spent the afternoon cleaning our garage out, which it needed needs that once a month or so and because the other 29 or 30 days were just piling stuff in there. So once a month.
00:02:49
Speaker
It gets a tidy up and organizeed and gets it we get it organized and that'll be it for another month.

Friends and Poker Episode Analysis

00:02:56
Speaker
But let's see, we have we haven't actually recorded in two weeks, so we're very excited to get back to it.
00:03:02
Speaker
And today we are going to be looking at the one with all the poker. So this is going to be a fun one. But before we get into the episode, of course, let's play a game of Bamboozled.
00:03:14
Speaker
Deanne, how many questions do you have today? i have six. All right, one, two, three, four, five, six. I have eight, but we know how this goes.
00:03:25
Speaker
we We know. We Yes. you go first, and I'll let you know whenever you get one that's the same mine. All right, I've got a funny feeling it might be the first one. So I'm just going to go in order.
00:03:36
Speaker
What is the name of the song the gang are whistling in the opening scene, and what movie is it from?
00:03:44
Speaker
What are they whistling at the beginning and extra points for what movie is it from? It is called The Bridge on the River Kwai, which is 1957.
00:03:57
Speaker
That was based on a book and it was a fiction, fictional book. Good to know. it's It was loosely based on a real story, but not, not really.
00:04:10
Speaker
Good to know. So i i it's one of those things that I know that the song, the Whistling, didn't know where it was from. The only thing I knew about the bridge over the river Kwai is, did you ever watch Parks and Rec?
00:04:24
Speaker
No, I didn't. Which is weird, and everybody's always shocked whenever I say no. So I feel like it'll be something I do eventually watch and go, wow, I can't believe it took me that long.
00:04:36
Speaker
Like many other sitcoms and bits of beat, the first season, maybe even the first two are pretty slow. But as the characters develop, um it ah it's apps I think it's tremendous.
00:04:50
Speaker
Just hilarious comedy. Anyway, Ron Swanson, who's one of the main pivotal characters in Parks and Rec, Bridge Over the River Kwai is his favorite movie. Oh.
00:05:01
Speaker
Tiny bits of trivia for you. And all right why I feel like I'll tuck that away. Oh, I was also going to say about that. Do you know what 80s movie also has people whistling that song?
00:05:20
Speaker
I don't, but this might be a great question for Kate. So go ahead. Tell me what to say. Okay. So, and I might be lying because I just watched this episode actually with my family and I said, we should all watch it and then you'll listen to the podcast and actually like feel, you know, in the know.
00:05:39
Speaker
Right. What's happening. And my brother said that it was also in The Breakfast Club. Now, Kate will know that for a fact if it is. she And I feel like it is correct and because I feel like I could see Judd Nelson saying,
00:05:55
Speaker
whistling it in the library, but ah maybe while he's, I don't know. So, but yeah, I feel like that's a point. Google, yes.
00:06:07
Speaker
Yes. Oddly enough, that movie came up um in conversation the other day because I said to Kate that band from my youth, that was actually it literally was the first album I ever bought with my own money, um are coming to Dallas soon.
00:06:24
Speaker
And then she had what band. And all I did, as I'm going to give you one clue, ah pumped my fist up in the air. And because she is such a fan. Like at the end. Yes, exactly. All I had to do was that motion and she knew the song and then the band.
00:06:41
Speaker
ah Okay. Yes. and So, yes. And it is. It's Judd Nelson is the one who starts the whistling. so Okay. Yeah. There you go. Pump your fist at that one.
00:06:54
Speaker
That's right. That's right. all right. What you got for me? All right. What's the mistake on Rachel's resume? It says she's got excellent skills. And who catches it?
00:07:08
Speaker
Oh, okay. It's computer skills. Yes. Now, let's see. It's going its Chandler or Ross. Let's think.
00:07:18
Speaker
Because one of them says... Did you proofread these? And I think it's Ross. I think Ross says, I'm sure you'll be very impressed with your excellent computer computer skills.
00:07:32
Speaker
I like it. You are correct. Nice job. All right. I've written the second question and when I read it to you, it might not make sense. So I'm good to, we'll see what happens here. you um Chandler asks Ross about his date with Linda and asks if this is the reason, oh, he doesn't want to go on a date with her again. What is the the reason?
00:07:57
Speaker
It has to do with that the Flintstones could have really happened. That's it. Yes. And I can see him getting so angry. So angry about somebody somebody said that. too And I know at some point in the show, I couldn't tell you what... I just know they're in monniquin Monica's kitchen.
00:08:17
Speaker
Phoebe says to Ross, Jurassic Park could happen because she's just trying to get him riled up. I don't remember when it is. I love that they know how to get him.
00:08:30
Speaker
Yes, that is so funny. Okay. Okay.
00:08:35
Speaker
This one, it might be ugly, but I don't know. We'll just see. What brand Carson poker chips are they She's having some connectivity issues over there.
00:08:50
Speaker
We'll see if she comes back. um Yeah, I wonder what the question was that was going to be ugly. Let's see. I'll probably just pause the recording and then we'll start again as soon as she's back.
00:09:02
Speaker
Seconds. No, there we go. And Deanne is back. You just said that this one might be ugly and then we lost you. Oh, okay. Fun. All right. What brand of cards and poker chips is the gang using whenever they're playing in the apartment?
00:09:20
Speaker
and And you can clearly see it in the girls' apartment. You can clearly see it because I know the answer. Certainly. I'm assuming they're both the same, but I know the playing cards because I noticed it and I thought about asking this, but then to be honest, I couldn't think of another company that makes them because the only company I know is Bicycle.
00:09:41
Speaker
That is accurate. Yes. And the only reason that I even asked was because it was on the box. Yes. The box. And it's like a poker set.
00:09:51
Speaker
It's got the poker chips and the cards. Yep. All right. Great job, Al. Thank you. Well, on the poker theme, give me as much. Well, you know what? I've just given away the answer to the question, but going ask anyway, kind of.
00:10:05
Speaker
As many details as you can. why did Joey cry?
00:10:11
Speaker
it. That's my question. What happened to Joey's poker hand in the story that made him cry? The chocolate got on the three and he thought it was an eight.
00:10:22
Speaker
That's right. You knew it. all right. We're going to just have to have somebody come up with 10 questions and split them between us. Something like that. Yes. Okay.
00:10:34
Speaker
So after the second game, and so they're over at, um I think it's Ross's apartment. Yeah. At Ross's apartment, Marcel slammed the door because they turned off the music. It was so sad.
00:10:50
Speaker
um All right, so what is the amount of money per girl that they owe at the end of that game? That's a great question.
00:11:04
Speaker
All three of them owe money. Yes. I feel like Rachel and is the last and she owes $15? Correct. Okay, so i think I think it incrementally goes up.
00:11:17
Speaker
So I'm going to guess Monica, 10, and is it Phoebe? Is Phoebe something like 750?
00:11:26
Speaker
That's exactly right, Al. Yes. All right. like Yes, that was that was a great, solid. All right. I'm feeling good about that one. All right.
00:11:39
Speaker
So I'm going to ask you something that may show a little naivety on my part, but I learned something from this episode. and mode And um good I think I've got the pronunciation right.
00:11:50
Speaker
Monica makes assorted crudites for snacks when playing poker. What are crudites?
00:11:59
Speaker
It might be crudites. I don't quite remember. But there's definitely C-R-U-D-I-T-E-S.
00:12:09
Speaker
Is it the salmon things? It is not. because Oh, because I know he's like, you have to have chips. dips and pretz. Yeah, maybe she says salmon and the assorted food. well, Joey asks for the salmon things later. Because see like, do you have any more of those salmon things? And she was like, no. like I have no idea what that is.
00:12:34
Speaker
ah Yeah, it's assorted raw vegetables. I didn't know that. Oh. Yeah. I'm trying to, yeah, I'm trying to, it's a French word, which essentially means it's an appetizer consisting of raw ah or sliced vegetables often served with a dip. I mean, the kind of thing we would, you know, have, that's not uncommon, but it's called crudites.
00:12:58
Speaker
i don't know, something like that. Okay. All right. Your question is up next. Okay. And so I'm out of questions, but that's okay because I have another one. Right. Can you name...
00:13:12
Speaker
Two of the poker games that they suggest in this episode. ah yeah yeah I remember one of them. I wasn't sure if it was a real version of poker.
00:13:26
Speaker
And I forgot to look it up.
00:13:30
Speaker
Cincinnati. Okay. Cincinnati.
00:13:38
Speaker
What is the other one? Cincinnati. I'm going to go with Omaha. Okay. I don't remember them saying Omaha.
00:13:48
Speaker
i do that It is an actual game. That's why i went with it. Yeah, that's why i went with it. Okay. They also talk about hold them and a five-card draw and then jacks are better.
00:14:01
Speaker
That's right. Yes. Yeah. Okay. it's Half a point. Half a point. yeah I love it. all right, so next time we must remember to have you ask first because I've still got four questions for you.
00:14:14
Speaker
So I might as well because I get to ask first this week. So I'll just throw them all at you. um Where does Chandler get his Yagas from? ah Taking money from his friends. No.
00:14:27
Speaker
Oh, wait, no, he gets them from Ikea. Yeah, you go. You got to put them together yourself. Yes, Chandler. That's right. I love that. love that line. All right.
00:14:39
Speaker
This one, you'll know or you don't. In Ross's apartment, he has a very large poster from what animated series? Speed Racer. Well done. Well done. Which I swear, i mean we may have discussed this. I think Chandler's wearing a Speed Racer t-shirt at one point.
00:14:55
Speaker
Maybe it's later on. But I feel that it's not the one and only reference to Speed Racer. um i what When Aunt Iris enters, who does she say she hit with the car?
00:15:07
Speaker
Oh, I know, I know, because I had to look him up, and I got all kinds of Tony Randall. I've got all kinds of random information about him. I'm looking forward to it.
00:15:18
Speaker
And then last but certainly not least, what does Joey eat to tie him over when he can't call for a pizza? ah A tic-tac. A tic-tac, indeed it is. Well done. Well, next week, you will remind me you are to ask first.
00:15:35
Speaker
So if we have duplicates, I'm scoring them off. I'm putting a note right here. Me ask first.
00:15:44
Speaker
Are we keeping track? Are we keeping track of this? Because I don't want to I feel like I'm listening. We are not.
00:15:55
Speaker
Now, the inspiration from Bamboozled came from the We're Listening Fraser podcast. And sorry, just there we go. Kate was playing something through a speaker.
00:16:07
Speaker
um And they've got very good setup. They have some listeners who send questions in. In fact, I'm one of the listeners. We send in questions so we know they only have five each. And they're different, so it's a lot easier to keep score that way.
00:16:21
Speaker
So maybe one day in the future, that's something we will do. We can ah wrangle some listeners in ah to create the questions, five each for us.
00:16:32
Speaker
I think it would be fun to do. That's so clever. It is, but yeah they've been going for years. They're they're closing in on 200, not 200 episodes quite yet, but 170, 180 at least, I think.
00:16:45
Speaker
A very well-oiled machine over there. ah We're listening to Frasier Podcast. So shout out to Steve, Key, and Will, who are over there. Look up for FrasierPod on Instagram.
00:16:56
Speaker
um You can follow all the goings on over there. And of course, Steve is a Steve. We know Steve, you will have heard on the last two episodes with his little ah bits of information about Mad About You ER. And of course, he did episode one and three with me.
00:17:11
Speaker
But speaking of episodes, let's get stuck into the one about all the poker. And we're in the girls apartment to begin with. As we discussed, they are whistling. What was it called? Colonel bogeys.
00:17:23
Speaker
March. What did we say? yeah kindda bogies Yeah, trying to help Rachel get a new job. um But unfortunately, only did she make a mistake, she clearly doesn't have great computer skills when she thinks that they might not be on all of them.
00:17:42
Speaker
Well, in ah ah in this and this up or this scene, I laughed whenever she is sending her resume literally everywhere.
00:17:53
Speaker
Everywhere. And then he's like, popular mechanics? And she's like, yes and And Chandler says something so funny right then about, you know, if you're going to do mechanics, that's the only one. or Yeah, those are the ones to work for.
00:18:10
Speaker
Yes. Yes, it was a great one-liner for him. Yes. avis thought it's funny I do like, yeah, if e was if you're going to work for mechanics, those are the ones to work for.
00:18:21
Speaker
um something like that, which is just just brilliant. um Yeah, and she doesn't realize or maybe, i don't know, maybe hopes hopes that some of them missed it on the Xerox machine.
00:18:33
Speaker
But I don't know. We'll see. yeah but We will. Yeah. That's not really how Xerox machines work, but anyway. No, but we'll find out that she does get a little bit of luck with at least one job later on. yeah But um the after that, week we do go into Central Park and we're there for a little a while.
00:18:53
Speaker
Very odd that the boys are sitting over to the side, Chandler and Ross. um I guess it's to set up this scene because they kind of need them to be separate, but it's very rare that we... you know, Intercentral Park and there they are sitting over at the side.
00:19:07
Speaker
um Especially when I think, if I remember rightly, the couch is empty.
00:19:13
Speaker
Yeah, because it's empty until the girls come and sit down in it. Right. So why to rachel why would they be sitting over there other than, you know, for to cause it to have some distance between the girls and the boys so they can talk about Ross's feelings that he denies um for Rachel? Well,
00:19:31
Speaker
yeah um Yes. Now, she comes over. I'm trying... I didn't write down where this was in the scene. But um how do you how do you say the word S-C-O-N-E?
00:19:46
Speaker
Scone? Scone. So I think it is a unique... S-C-O-N-E? So I think it is a uniquely Scottish thing that it's a scone. But I think everywhere else it's a scone.
00:19:58
Speaker
If I remember correctly... A scone. Oh. I think everywhere else it's a scone. But when I heard that, I thought, you know let me double check. I could just double check easily, but why not save it for the podcast?
00:20:11
Speaker
I got scared for a minute that that was like a pop quiz of some sort. No, no, just, just threw it there, keeping you on your toes. Whoa, whoa, whoa.
00:20:22
Speaker
Whoa. That's right. Enough of that. We're finished with bamboozled. So let's see. Phoebe, Phoebe Monica come in with the big stack of Rachel's mail. Lots of rejections and a very, very large visa bill.
00:20:36
Speaker
Yeah. Which, which tickled me. Um, you know So they're they're going through all of those, lots of rejections. Ross and Chandler, as we said, they're discussing the date.
00:20:47
Speaker
They went on with Linda, who thinks the Flintstones could have happened. um I do love the way that Joey enters and Chandler starts laughing and outs him for crying at poker.
00:20:57
Speaker
And I did think, you know, this podcast, not just about friends. Our listeners are getting to know each of us too. When was the last time that you laughed so hard you cried?
00:21:11
Speaker
Oh, my gosh. Okay, so last weekend. Right. we You mentioned that we did not โ€“ we didn't record last weekend. was in New Orleans, and I was um chaperoning my older son's trip ah orchestra trip to New Orleans. And it was so much fun.
00:21:34
Speaker
um But I was in charge of โ€“ um my son and then his three roommates, like his three little sweet mates. And um I thought it was hilarious ah to play jokes on them.
00:21:51
Speaker
And so i laughed a whole lot that weekend. But um the one that really stands out is we are supposed to, like after they go inside of their room, we put tape on the outside So that if they leave or open their door, they can't tape it back.
00:22:12
Speaker
Right. Right. Okay. So I taped their door early. ah the first night that we were there. And it was so funny watching those boys.
00:22:27
Speaker
stay with They finally went to go to their room like two minutes before 10. And they had been playing poker in the lobby. Right. you know? Right. And so I was standing around the corner and they just walked to the door and they just stood there.
00:22:43
Speaker
Right.
00:22:46
Speaker
And I thought it was so funny. I was hiding around the corner and then my roommate was in our room next door. She heard the boys. So she opened the door and she said that my son looked at her and it's like, did you do this?
00:23:01
Speaker
did you do that? She was like, no. ah he Did my mom do that? And so by that point, like I had tears going down my face. I was laughing so hard because they were so stressed out. That's phenomenal.
00:23:19
Speaker
That's good parenting as far as I'm concerned. I felt like it was one of the moms, whatever we were talking about. Oh, you're one of the mean moms. No.
00:23:29
Speaker
Is that mean? I feel like it's building character. Indeed. They will remember this with their own children and go, remember when mom did? Absolutely. No. 10 out of 10 parenting in my books.
00:23:42
Speaker
yeah I mean, i feel i feel pretty confident in that. Good. Good for

Deanne's New Orleans Prank

00:23:48
Speaker
you. But that that was funny, man. funny nan Made those boys sit on the back of an alligator. and I don't even know.
00:23:57
Speaker
It was fun. A good weekend. yeah It was wonderful. Yes. Good. yeah well Joey cried for different reasons. He was upset cried because he he misread the card when they were playing poker.
00:24:11
Speaker
um The girls want to play, but the boys really, they're not really interested in teaching them. Now, do you know how to play? Do you play much poker? So, yes Yes, I actually, i have not, I have played poker recently, but Joseph and me and my dad and then my sister-in-law, we used to go once a week, like up until the time that Fred was three, but we would play at least once a week.
00:24:43
Speaker
Now, are we talking Hold'em, Omaha, Hydra? What are we talking? Most of the time it was Hold'em. Right. But like, I mean, then we would play Omaha periodically, but we played like in a free poker league where you would get, but accumulate points over time. And then you would play in tournaments for money. And then whenever I lived in Providence, um I, I, I won, i won the poker tournament. m Like for the whole neighborhood, the very, I don't know if it was the first or the second one that we did, but it was,
00:25:19
Speaker
Yes. no ah we have we Most of the time it is, it is, hold them though. We have just stumbled across some potentially seismic information here.
00:25:33
Speaker
Cause so Deanne and I used to live in the same neighborhood, ah Providence village many, many years ago. And I used to play the poker club up at the clubhouse. Is there a chance we played poker together before we really knew each other?
00:25:48
Speaker
I bet we did. bet we did as well. Yeah. Uh-huh. but Yeah, I bet you we did. I know for a fact I played with Lana, both our mutual friend Lana, before. Uh-huh. I knew her. Yeah.
00:26:02
Speaker
Yeah. Interesting. Yeah, we'll need to get together. But I knew Lana back then. i knew Lana back then. So, yeah, that's funny. Interesting, interesting.
00:26:14
Speaker
Well, we go up to the girls' apartment. They're playing poker. Now, I will say, I know at some point soon... There's a whole scene missing from um the Max stream.
00:26:26
Speaker
I deliberately watched the Max stream because I remember seeing that there's a whole scene missing. I think we meet Monica's aunt twice. Iris.
00:26:37
Speaker
Iris, but we only see her once in the stream. Yeah, the the whole there's a scene, I think, where she's, don't want to get ahead, where she's like berating them or something. The second scene. whenever they lost all the money.
00:26:50
Speaker
Right, and we don't see that. The whole scene is not on the stream. We only see that initial one. Certainly, again, i'm I'm watching it on Macs, but I'd seen the DVD or somewhere.
00:27:03
Speaker
I'd seen the other scene. Yeah. So make sure you interrupt me you know when that scene comes up. um Okay. But we know that Phoebe and Rachel, they're driving Ross crazy because Ross is trying to play like a serious game.
00:27:16
Speaker
And they're just handing cards back and forth. Oh, you need a four. I've got a four. Yes. Yes. Okay. Yes. Go ahead. I thought it was so funny because like you see that Ross is pretty...
00:27:34
Speaker
Pretty competitive. Right. But what we know because we've seen the whole series is like Monica is psycho. as much. Like psycho competitive.
00:27:45
Speaker
and And you get kind of an idea of it because do they talk about the plate in this scene or is it later? Yeah. I think that's later on, think. Okay, well then I'm just kidding. Continue on.
00:27:58
Speaker
Right. And you know, you were right. I've just written this down. Yeah, Monica makes fancy snacks, and I might butcher the pronunciation, but salmon roulette and assorted crudites or crudites, whatever they are.
00:28:09
Speaker
So there is the salmon there with the raw vegetables. And that's what Joey about. Okay, so i get a half a point for that, guys. You do. You do get a half a point. Yes. Absolutely. You are redeemed for that one Absolutely. Absolutely.
00:28:23
Speaker
um that's when yeah Joey says snacks with one syllable and then stumbles into pretz accidentally yes and we sort of have a little break but Joey then wins a hand by bluffing Phoebe says he's lying um but hang on yeah so like let's go back whenever Ross Ross is like ah he's losing his mind because they're just passing around all the cars oh I'm going for sixes so it's fine She's like, oh.
00:28:55
Speaker
Okay. And then they have like a callback to that very first scene. But I think this was cut out for you. But ross hits i mean Chandler hits Ross with the newspaper.
00:29:11
Speaker
i don't remember seeing that. Yeah, I think that is cut out. Yeah, I don't think that's anything. And so that was just funny because I always enjoy that whenever they do a callback to an earlier scene.
00:29:23
Speaker
yeah And if you're, you know, if you're really paying attention, you see that. But yeah, it's blue. So you don't even know that. That's interesting. It was cute. I do like, I like these little subtle callbacks, like you said.
00:29:37
Speaker
The only thing that I found odd about this, and maybe it's... and bucked the wrong tree altogether. Phoebe, we know, has had a very rough life, lived on the streets, lived in a burnt-out LeSabre or something, some kind of old car, all of this stuff.
00:29:53
Speaker
How does she not know how to play a simple game of poker? but That would seem like a street-smart skill that she would have. well maybe maybe not poker.
00:30:04
Speaker
Maybe it like the thing where you put the thing under the cup. um You know what I'm talking about? no Three card Monty? Is that it? Oh, there you go. Three card Monty. It's not what I was thinking of, but that would be the card version of it.
00:30:20
Speaker
That's right. Yes. You're right. That's more of a parallel game that you can cheat to win. Right. Because you're not really going to see a whole lot of poker. True. wouldn't think if you're living on the street. Sitting there with stacks of chips. Somebody's not playing with a full deck.
00:30:37
Speaker
Right. that's how I see what you did there. Yeah. No. Deanne is on fire today. This is it. Oh. But Joey does win his hand by bluffing.
00:30:50
Speaker
Phoebe's not impressed. So you're lying. You're lying. She's not having it. um So it's I find that very interesting that she's quite new to this world of gambling, it would seem.
00:31:04
Speaker
um Marcel puts in the line. Oh, sorry. Jumping way ahead. We're over to Ross's apartment. Excuse me. um The Bowser, they're still talking about the fact that... Wait, wait, are you skipping over... what did I miss? The whole thing with the... What's the... Cards are dealt. I'm not a nice guy. I didn't write that down in my notes. I am glad that when it was, right?
00:31:31
Speaker
Yeah, I'm not a nice guy. What is it? Yeah. Yeah. I think so. I didn't write that down in my notes. Yes, that's what it is. And he's like, I played a win, all right. and you know That's right. try to like blu And Chandler calls it his Black Bart speech.
00:31:48
Speaker
But that's when it is. is it Yes. Right after that first poker. yeah well, that's the the Black Bart speech. Chandler says that line in Ross's apartment.
00:32:01
Speaker
when the when he's revisiting, hey, what was that Black Bart speech? Because I had no idea who what Black Bart was. So I did a deep dive that we'll get into. Maybe you knew who Black Bart was.
00:32:12
Speaker
I'd never heard that. Is it Black Bart, the one with the mustache who ties the girls onto the train tracks? I'm guessing that's not what I read, but what I read goes goes hand in hand with that.
00:32:26
Speaker
So you're probably right. You're probably Okay, tell me more. All right, so I'll give you a little teaser, and then I'll read what I've got in the end. But yeah, Black Bart. Oh, okay, sorry. No, no, you're fine. He was an Old West outlaw stagecoach robber.
00:32:42
Speaker
um So he was born in England, but moved to the States as a child. Nobody's quite sure what happened to him in the end. He either died in California and is in an unmarked grave, um or he flew fled to Japan.
00:32:57
Speaker
which is quite extreme, but those are the two things. yeah why he's You're either dead or in Japan. One or the other. what I know which I would prefer, but one or the other.
00:33:08
Speaker
and you can enable cha Oh, oh what you to my I talking to her.

Cultural References and Character Dynamics

00:33:16
Speaker
and that's so funny so Yeah, it still doesn't understand you.
00:33:22
Speaker
um Now, why he was called Black Bart, I'm not sure, but we'll go into his his calling card that he left after we've reviewed the episode, which is what results in Chandler saying what was with the Black Bart speech.
00:33:38
Speaker
um Because, again, Prince gives us an education. I didn't understand that joke at all, so why not dive into it? Because, Al, every day a what?
00:33:49
Speaker
Every day is a school day. That's it. Lifelong learners over here. That's what we're aiming for. Chandler is giving Ross a hard time about this speech.
00:34:00
Speaker
um Not a nice guy. And kind kind of teasing him a bit. And rightly so. Ross is being Ross, doing Ross things. um Kind of a bit a bit of a brat, I think. But that's that's the Ross we've grown to know and sort of love up until this point, I think.
00:34:18
Speaker
um Marcel puts in the Lion King song CD. and I've lost track if this is the first time we hear the Lion King song. I feel like it's not, but I'm not sure. I know we hear it a couple of times. in' The Lion Sleeps Tonight.
00:34:32
Speaker
The Lion Sleeps Tonight, yes. Yes. It's not a Lion King song. That's right. Why did I write that down? I knew that. Because you know the Lion King. Everybody loves it.
00:34:44
Speaker
Except for the live version of it. Because that's weird. Yeah. I've seen clips of that. Yeah. Let's see. Yeah. And then, and like, yeah. is it It's not the first time.
00:35:00
Speaker
No, I don't think. I think Marcel's played this. Oh, it is when the boys are helping Ross move in because they kind of start dancing to it, don't they? um They kind of start shuffling through Ross's new apartment.
00:35:16
Speaker
where the Like the day he moves in, I think. Yeah. Does that ring a bell? Does that ring a bell with you Maybe. it does it It does. Because they dance in this one too.
00:35:27
Speaker
Like they dance. As they're going in, like right before the scene changes and the girls are there. Okay. maybe Maybe I'm mixing those up. I'm going to have to go back and re-watch this one. But I feel like it was in another episode too.
00:35:41
Speaker
Yeah, I think it's been at least two in there. I know that um they sing it to Marcel much later on. We won't spoil why, but I think at least three times we hear it.
00:35:55
Speaker
um So... We go back over to the girls' apartment. Is that right at this stage? um And Phoebe kind of lets Monica know that she's just as bad, competitive, highly strong as Ross.
00:36:13
Speaker
Yes. Which surely Monica would be self-aware enough, but maybe not. Maybe not. um And the only other thing I wrote down for this scene, I think, was that this is when Rachel finds out she gets the interview.
00:36:25
Speaker
um oh no it's not the only thing i've written but she finds out she gets the interview at her Sex Fifth Ebony is this where Phoebe says that's it I love that line I was hoping it was in this scene yes yes and then yeah so this is the only time I meet Aunt Iris um Wow. Yeah. Because she comes in, talks about Tony Randall and says she's parked at a meter, I believe. So like, let's get on with it.
00:36:57
Speaker
You know, yeah everything you believe at the poker table is crap. It's utter crap. um But you know I kind of hoped at that moment to see more of her, um which evidently we do if we don't see the cut fashion.
00:37:11
Speaker
Yeah, you do. And she goes through a whole thing. um about And they talk about the cousin who's a man trapped in a woman's body.
00:37:23
Speaker
like His name is like aht Nathaniel or Nathan or or something. And then she's like, but don't you mean he's a woman trapped in a man's off a body?
00:37:35
Speaker
And Aunt Iris is like, it would be that simple. You would hope it would be that simple. Right. Or something like that. And it's like, what? What? she Yeah, Aunt Iris is pretty interesting. She's a mess.
00:37:48
Speaker
Yeah, I'd like to see more of her. I wonder if she's, I'm assuming she wasn't in the background of the one where Nana dies, um you know, things like that. um Yeah.
00:38:00
Speaker
I'm assuming not, but I would like to have seen more of good old Aunt Iris. um we bounce back over to ross's apartment and everyone's there except for rachel um she arrives she's very excited about the interview um now i've got to ask you i can shuffle cards i can shuffle two decks at once like just normal shuffling you know kind of ripple them together on the table that's fine i don't understand how she or people is that is that a real shuffle like can people really do that
00:38:31
Speaker
let's call it a wave that she does with the cons. I don't, I don't think so. Right. is that trick dickx I think it's a trick deck. There's a trick deck, like where you can do that.
00:38:44
Speaker
And that's funny. You say that because whenever I saw her do that, I was like, that looks, fake and they weren't bicycle cards so i i didn't notice that they weren't but so she she has a ah trick deck with her i like that um and as you let me know yeah you know earlier on you know we the girls all lose money money ah was it phoebe loses the least monica and then rachel the most Monica can't handle a losing.
00:39:12
Speaker
And I thought you were going to ask me possibly. And Phoebe cursed her money. money about what? Oh, when I think, well, that's right. And then Chandler's like, I'm cursed anyway.
00:39:23
Speaker
What the hell? Just hold on to it. I'll take it. I'm cursed anyway. but the The only thing I started to deep dive was, I think Monica said, like yeah what she's panicking, wants to win her money back, and wants a game of Cross-Eyed Mary, which is I can't find any game called that. She just made it up.
00:39:44
Speaker
She asked if they can play Cross-Eyed Mary. i'm just I'm assuming the writer's just made up at the name of you random name of a game that sounds possibly possibly legitimate.
00:39:59
Speaker
Yeah, I don't feel like that even is ah real game. Like, what? Cross-Eyed Mary. Yeah, Cross-Eyed Mary. It's just an odd one. Yeah. Yeah.
00:40:13
Speaker
And, yeah, so but obviously we're seeing how Ross and Monica super competitive, um ah her which is a trait, as you said, that I think it, I don't think it tails off with Ross, but we certainly see it more in Monica as the series goes on, I think. Yeah.
00:40:33
Speaker
Yes. Yes. Well, and they've talked, they talked about the plate. Her throwing the plate at Pictionary. Oh, Pictionary. That's right. Yes.
00:40:45
Speaker
And whenever she's saying, ah whenever they're back at the girl's apartment and the, hello, kettle, this is Monica. yeah The, you know, the pot calling the kettle black.
00:40:56
Speaker
Right. And that whole thing. and um And then she's like, I'm not as bad as Ross. She's like, you threw a plate. And she's I was gesturing.
00:41:07
Speaker
and That's right. To slip to something. And so, yeah, no, I think that they're both probably. But like in this one, it definitely looks like Ross is way more competitive.
00:41:21
Speaker
Yes. To me. To me. And then we're going to have to talk about Rachel's behavior too, because I had a whole conversation with Joseph. After Kate chimed in on Facebook and but yeah I'm getting ahead. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. No, no, no, no. We will. is that yeah kate I agree with her, but she's more passionate about that opinion that we will come to. um So I'm excited to hear what Joseph has to say.
00:41:46
Speaker
um But we kind of come to the main the meat of the episode here. The big episode in the girls' apartment. One more big game of poker. um Funny moment where Ross goes to the bathroom. I do quite like the way he kind says, when Monica is like, do you want to poker or do you want to pee or something?
00:42:03
Speaker
You know? This right here, this right here, yeah before this, where you're talking, that's where the other scene with Aunt Ida comes in. Okay, it's right in here. Interesting. It's right here before...
00:42:16
Speaker
Well, because she's mad at him because they tell her that they lost about 30 bucks. And so she's just like, absolutely not. You know, um we got to got to learn more.
00:42:30
Speaker
So then that's where that scene is, where we get another scene with Aunt Ida. Interesting. Well, good old Aunt Ida, obviously her second set of advice um seems to pay dividends in the end, as we'll find out.
00:42:46
Speaker
But um yeah, i do quite like the way Ross just goes, yeah, I want to go to the bathroom. And Rachel kind of plays that small prank about his zipper. um Yes. Which I like. it show To me, it shows she's gaining some confidence at the poker table, realizing it's not all about, it's really nothing to do with the cards you're holding at all.
00:43:06
Speaker
You know, she starts to mess with them a bit. I like seeing that growth in that right there, that confidence that I'm assuming she got from, and what do we say, Ira? No, Ida, Iris, Iris. Oh, is it Iris? I wrote down.
00:43:20
Speaker
So on the second one, I wrote down Aunt Ida, and on the first one, I wrote down Aunt Iris. Nice. I'm trying see what I wrote down. We call her Aunt I. And i yeah, I wrote down Iris, but that doesn't mean anything.
00:43:34
Speaker
Yeah, I feel like it is Iris. Right. Yeah. but but I feel like Rachel's learned from her. um Now, Joey wants to order, it well, joy couple of thoughts here. Joey wants to order a pizza, but Rachel's like, no, no, no, I'm waiting to hear back from sex.
00:43:49
Speaker
And they close at night. Now, I understand the retail establishment might be open until 9, but HR, who I assume would be the ones calling, or, you know, the business side of, they're not going be open until 9 o'clock. get off at 6.
00:44:03
Speaker
Right. They're not open till nine o'clock at night in an office. um So I thought, a that was odd. And B, we know that Joey and Chandler's phone works in Rachel and Monica's apartment.
00:44:16
Speaker
We know that. it Maybe not at this point, but it does. He could have just used his own phone. Mm-hmm. You know? But instead he had his tic-tac. He had his tic-tac. He a good He was.
00:44:29
Speaker
He was. So maybe he wasn't really that hungry after all. um Rachel wins a hand holding four sixes, quad sixes, a very difficult hand to get. Yes. Which is kind of funny.
00:44:43
Speaker
Hang on. Because in the very first time that they're trading off all the things, isn't she going for sixes? You are right. i didn't make that connection.
00:44:54
Speaker
Yes. So she's going for sixes and then gets No, no, it's okay. I'm going for sixes. You're right. Oh, no, she was going for fours. I'm lying. She gave away a six of spades. Interesting. No, Rachel had the ten of spades.
00:45:11
Speaker
There's a six mentioned somewhere. Phoebe still needs the six of clubs. Right. Okay, never mind. I had to look at notes. You're fine. Because I knew that there were sixes in there. There is, yes, I remember. Sorry. No, you're fine.
00:45:24
Speaker
um And then she beats Ross again. Ross has taken a bit of a hammering at this point. But then so of so does Rachel on the phone, unfortunately, because sex not only don't give her the job, but they kind of end up hanging up on Rachel.
00:45:37
Speaker
um Yeah. actually Poor thing never had a chance, it would seem. um But she you know she's not going to let that slow her down at the felt. She's going sit down and continue to play poker and um ends up going head-to-head with Ross again.
00:45:55
Speaker
um There's bets flying in left, right, and center. People's purses. It's chaos at the poker table. um And I could have done a deep dive into this, but I didn't want to ruin it for myself.
00:46:08
Speaker
you know I don't know what Ross had in his hand. Did he fold because he really thought he didn't have a strong hand or did he fold because he wanted Rachel to win?
00:46:18
Speaker
Because she, yeah. I think think that the information is out there what he had. um Yes.
00:46:30
Speaker
So i but I didn't want to look it up and I haven't looked it up yet, but I think you can you do see whether he actually had a better hand or not. um Okay. Okay. So I read on this.
00:46:41
Speaker
Okay. What did you find that? ah But I'm going to be honest. i did not like confirm it as I was like, ah because I read about it after we watched it.
00:46:55
Speaker
And um it was saying that and he was bluffing the whole time. Okay. And so then he ended up, because there wasn't anything with the hands and because they showed his hand and then he swapped out two he took two cards or one card but there was nothing that he could have gotten that would have beat because there's only what two hands that would have beat well three right that would have been to head house she had a full house yeah she had to have a higher full house quads straight flush royal flush you i mean yeah right
00:47:38
Speaker
It would have to be a pretty big hand. yeah Yes. And they were there was nothing like with the first hand that he had that would have been able to beat that.
00:47:49
Speaker
Nice. and So what the consensus was is that he called her knowing that he lost. Right.
00:48:01
Speaker
I like it. So Rachel celebrates with the girls. um Ross obviously is He sees how happy she is. And we'll get to Rachel's behavior momentarily, which is the source of some controversy, which I didn't really catch. um But Ross sees how happy she is.
00:48:21
Speaker
Chandler and Joey kind of go to grab his cards. I'm not quite sure why or if they're grabbing their shit. Because want to They want to know if he actually won or what he was playing.
00:48:32
Speaker
But weren't they standing behind him? Wouldn't they know he was? They Okay. Okay. That's what I thought too. But his cards are down that whole time that they're standing behind and they're giving them the money out of their wallets and everything. Those cards are down. Okay. I didn't catch that. Okay. Good to know. Yeah.
00:48:53
Speaker
Yeah. Because that bothered me too, because I was like, why did they reach for it if they already knew? But the cards, he didn't ever look back at them. Good so to know. So he knew.
00:49:05
Speaker
So we'll we'll touch on the very final scene and then i've got two questions for you. But they're playing Pictionary again. Monica's drawing. Monica's drawing Bye Bye Bardi and nobody gets it.
00:49:16
Speaker
Now, Rachel draws this bean, right? And I'm struggling with this one. Joey guesses the right answer. I had to Google the book that this is because it doesn't even have... I thought Joey said the unbearable light likeness of beans.
00:49:33
Speaker
that's what i thought too and that is not what he said and and why would joey be the one that knows that it's just ridiculous i've read that how would joey know this book about love sex politics the human condition existential uncertainty like where did where did joey you know where did joey pull this from um and I don't know. they but But of course, it's all set up for this great joke where they duck where Monica picks up the glass.
00:50:06
Speaker
Yes. Sort of throwback to what you were talking about earlier with the plate. Mm-hmm. But that we we come to the end of the episode. You said you'd done a little deep dive on Tony Randall, so I'll get to that second.
00:50:19
Speaker
But I'd love to hear what you and your good husband, Joseph, talked about with regards to Rachel's behavior in this episode. Okay. Okay. um I personally have no issue with any of Rachel's behavior in this whole episode.
00:50:35
Speaker
Like, I feel like she is confident and kind of ribbing him back. Like he's saying, you know, Oh, I'm a tough guy and whatever.
00:50:46
Speaker
he like, he gave that speech and then he's like, I'm taking your money. Gell of green. And she's like, and your fly is down. bellot yellow Like,
00:50:57
Speaker
you know, just real smart. And, you know, he had teased her whenever he was taking her money, you know, oh, I need a ah whoever, Lincoln and a Hamilton or whatever, whoever's on the 10 and the 5.
00:51:11
Speaker
I should know that. How embarrassing. um But, ah you know, wait like, he's teasing her and trying to sound all tough and big, and she's just kind of knocking him down off of that.
00:51:26
Speaker
And, I didn't feel like any of it was mean-spirited. like i felt like you know he was pushing at her trying to be big and tough and she's busy knocking that down.
00:51:42
Speaker
No, you are not that big and bad and tough. I didn't think it was any big deal. Well, Joseph saw Kate comment, Rachel's a real jerk in this episode, and he says,
00:51:55
Speaker
hey, you know what? And I said, what? He goes, I totally agree with Kate. Rachel is a huge jerk in that episode. And I was like you haven't even watched it yet. And he's like, I don't need to. He goes, I remember this episode and how mean she is to Ross.
00:52:14
Speaker
What? Really? Like, yes. And that did not, like, it did not pop out to me at all. Like,
00:52:25
Speaker
Whenever I remember this episode fondly because it has all the poker, but then I remember it's just a good, funny episode where the girls are learning to pay play poker and the guys are being a little chauvinistic.
00:52:40
Speaker
That's all I remembered. So then I watched the episode and I am looking, I'm like, all right, Rachel, let's see you be a jerk. And I'm like, I felt like she was very quick witted it was funny.
00:52:57
Speaker
Right.

Debate on Rachel's Poker Behavior

00:52:58
Speaker
That was my, and so we are a house divided on this issue. So I think what we, this would be a good little moment to plug. If you are not in our Facebook group, the purple door podcast club, come join us. This is the place where we'd like to discuss these differences of opinion.
00:53:16
Speaker
Um, you know, we'd love to get your views on the episodes and the characters and all the different takes on what we see. So come join us over there. Look for us in Facebook. Like I said, the purple door podcast club, it's a group on Facebook.
00:53:31
Speaker
We'd love to have you. Um, It's because constantly I'll see people's opinions or hear people's opinions that it's not that i disagree with them. I just didn't think about the things from that perspective.
00:53:44
Speaker
um Right. So so i that's one of the reasons I love doing this podcast is you'll bring up things that might seem obvious to you, but I just didn't see. I just i didn't see it through that lens.
00:53:55
Speaker
um So a great time for all of us. um Now, you also said Tony Randall. You did a little dive into him. Is that correct? I did just a little bit, which I thought was interesting because i was telling Joseph and I didn't recognize the name Tony Randall.
00:54:14
Speaker
I didn't. And so I'm like, oh, it's Felix. It's Felix from The Odd Couple. and And so then, you know, I'm reading about him. He's comedy actor and all of that.
00:54:29
Speaker
And then his his big thing was that he was very, very, very, very private. um And he did not share. He said that the only thing about his personal life that he wanted anybody to know. like um Unfortunately, Deanne's microphone has cut out and her screen has frozen. So we'll wait just a second once again.
00:54:52
Speaker
Yeah, I'd certainly never heard of Tony Randall. Didn't know who he was. um For some reason, I had a singer. and I think it was Tony Bennett I had in my head. Yet Deanne is now trying to reconnect. I can see it here.
00:55:06
Speaker
um so hopefully she'll be back on in just a second yeah just having some connectivity issues but she is back i'm back there we go go for it oh no yeah there you are you are back yeah sorry you're fine it all fine okay and um i was talking about tony randall yes Okay.
00:55:27
Speaker
And the ah where did I get cut off? I was talking about how he was very private. that's that That was it. Yeah, you said he was a private person. Yes. Okay. And he felt like actors and people in the spotlight like that, you should only be talking about their work.
00:55:47
Speaker
So, for example, you know, like his personal views on things, stuff like that. that was not for anybody but him and his family to know.
00:55:59
Speaker
And so i right he was married to the same woman for a long, long, long, long time. And, um and then he said he like took pride that the only thing that they know about me is that I don't smoke.
00:56:17
Speaker
But then whenever he was 77 years old, he married and had his first child. Wow. With a 26-year-old lady. Goodness.
00:56:29
Speaker
And then the following year, they had their first son. Goodness me. And like, 10 years later, he passed away.
00:56:41
Speaker
Right. And that's a shot. Not unexpected in your mid-80s, I suppose. But what I wanted to say, this is not the first time that the odd couple has come up.
00:56:54
Speaker
And I remember that we have talked about the odd couple before because you didn't know anything about the odd couple. Right. Was it like a song, like the opening sequence or it was something, right? ah Yes. It's driving me crazy exactly what it was. But yeah, I mean, it's sad to look up in the pod before. and And so ah Tony Randall played feli Felix Unger, which was the one of the odd couple that was like the very...
00:57:25
Speaker
uh straight and narrow and everything had to be clean and and that the you know very strict clean one no right interesting so there you go that's all right about tony randall and he did not get hit by the car by um by aunt iris oh i wrote down and iris here too so all right i think we'll commit to iris we we'll we'll yeah follow on that sword we'll see what happens i'm with you yeah i'm glad you looked up tony randall because i decided to go down the black bart rabbit hole um so yeah he was born his name was charles bowles born around 1829 norfolk england
00:58:09
Speaker
um So let's see. Black Bart, he was a famous Old West outlaw. i think he moved to New England initially when he was just two or three with his family. But he would always leave poetic messages at the scene of his crimes.
00:58:23
Speaker
These messages were often um humorous and taunting, and they were like his signature of the robberies that added to his mystique. um He didn't deliver speeches in the traditional sense. His poetic verses served as a form of communication and self-promotion.

He adopted the name himself, Black Bart, and proceeded to rob Wells Fargo stagecoaches at least 28 times in Northern California between 1875 1883. and eighty eighty three And he did appear as a figment of Ralphie Parker's imagination in A Christmas Story.
00:59:02
Speaker
Yes. That's like his pop culture reference. Yeah. Which I didn't remember. I've seen A Christmas Story a couple of times. I need to see it more. That's the bad guy, right?
00:59:13
Speaker
but think so. That he's in his imagination who he fights and saves the teacher. but It must be. Going from my note, and must that that would make total sense.
00:59:24
Speaker
Okay. Sorry. Perfect. No, please interrupt with more good information I don't have. um So, yeah, that's who Black Bart is. There's a lot of little references and jokes in Friends that I don't understand.
00:59:38
Speaker
So, as much as I love the show, I'm enjoying having this excuse to um to dig into these things and kind of find out more. um But on that note, we are going to jump over. Who is your Gunther Central Park of this episode?
00:59:53
Speaker
Okay, so I had a hard time. As did I'm glad to hear you say that. Okay, so i i really liked Monica in this episode because we' were kind of starting to see just a little how and competitive and and, I don't know, strategic she is.
01:00:20
Speaker
about things and just a little unhinged. Always love a little unhinged. And so I was going between her Rachel.
01:00:31
Speaker
Rachel is my Gunther sister for the week. i know oh because, and i I was like, am I doing that just because um i want to just, you know, have a Rachel moment with my husband where I'm like, well, you said this, so I'm I don't know the answer to that question.
01:00:54
Speaker
i don't know the answer to that question, but I'm going to go with the Rachel because like she was working her tail off, sending off all those resumes. And then, you know, she got let down, but she was funny in this episode. Her one-liners were good.
01:01:12
Speaker
And I, um, i just, and and she won. At the end of the thing, she won. She gets a win.
01:01:24
Speaker
Yeah. Good for her. So yeah well like you, I also struggled to me. This was very much a, an ensemble episode. There wasn't somebody for me who really stood out, but you touched on the point that pushed one character over the edge for me.
01:01:39
Speaker
And that was, I enjoyed seeing the development of Monica. Um, I enjoy seeing that, you know, again, as you said, unhinged a bit when she's lost some money. um i like the way that she, you know, even though it's a poker game, so you you see the competitiveness, but you also see her making the fancy foods because that's the other side of her.
01:02:00
Speaker
So you see more than one dimension of Monica in this episode. And while it's not a standout episode for anyone at all, including Monica, I think for me, she's my favorite for the week.
01:02:11
Speaker
Nice. Very good. And if you had to pour yourself some delicious cup cups excuse me of Central Park, you know let's go with the dark roast. How many out of 10 would you give this episode?

Episode Rating and Conclusion

01:02:25
Speaker
I would give myself nine steaming hot mugs. Goodness me. Honestly, it might be my, ah well, obviously, if I'm giving it nine, but this is my favorite episode so far.
01:02:41
Speaker
Really? All right. It really, really is. You know, ah i don't know. Because it's about them. It's all about them.
01:02:53
Speaker
There's not a lot of extra ah other than Aunt Iris. There's not extra in there. And it's we see a lot of really good development with the girls.
01:03:06
Speaker
um Yeah, I just, i I really, really like it. I love it. Well, i can I don't dislike it, but for me, unfortunately, it's a solid seven.
01:03:19
Speaker
Like, I like it. Don't be, unfortunately. Yeah. it's It's a good episode. There's funny stuff. And what I try to do is I look back at what I've rated previous episodes and where does it fall with regards to those.
01:03:33
Speaker
And, you know, so Seven is ah is kind of on the higher end of average. It's it's funny. i enjoy it. I like poker. I like playing poker. So I think that probably plays into it a little bit because I enjoy the stuff about the bluffing and the standoff at the end.
01:03:49
Speaker
And that would definitely be it too. Yeah. Yeah. So it's ah a solid seven cups of dark roast for me this week. um But let's think, do you have any final thoughts on this episode before we wrap this up?
01:04:06
Speaker
Uh, no, but no just seven. Just seven. Seven. Just seven. Okay. I put the whole podcast on a shaky foundation. I'm just saying.
01:04:21
Speaker
Ow. Yeah. and We'll have to discuss this. I'll, I'll think on, on, um, yeah, because I don't take it away. All right.
01:04:32
Speaker
Well, we'll have some thoughts. So we'll muse on this over the next week before we come back, hopefully next weekend. And we will discuss the next episode, which is the one where the monkey gets away.
01:04:45
Speaker
