00:00:01

Meet Apostle Aisham S. Cordery

00:00:25
Speaker
I'm Apostle Aisham S. Cordery.
00:00:27
Speaker
senior pastor of Grace Temple Church in Louisville, Kentucky, and senior bishop and general superintendent of the Grace Temple Fellowship of Churches in the US, Jamaica, and Africa. We are so thankful for another opportunity to speak with you
00:00:43
Speaker
in the church broadcast, our podcast on today. We're grateful for God's continued blessings and all that the Lord continues to do for us. Surely the Lord is a magnificent Savior and a wonderful God, and He is worthy for us to remember Him.

The Significance of the Sabbath

00:00:59
Speaker
I'm reminded that we are Sabbath keepers because the Scriptures, the command says, not just not to work, that's how we
00:01:08
Speaker
keep the Sabbath. But the reason for it is, and the law declares, remember to keep it holy. And so we remember to keep it separate from every other day. Why? Because it is the day that commemorates the great and magnificent and awesome creative power of God, that God created all the heavens and the earth
00:01:33
Speaker
And on the seventh day, he looked not because he was tired, but he looked because he was finished and said, it is good. And we remember God as our Savior.

Praise for God the Creator

00:01:44
Speaker
And in this world that we're in today where we have to coerce people, we have to declare the benefits that they will receive
00:01:54
Speaker
before they will worship our Creator. Simply, I want to let you know today that I adore Him because He is God and He is my God. And the promise and the covenant that He has is that He will be our God and we will be His people. And the reality is that God has done magnificent and wonderful things in our life. And I know there are some that will never be satisfied. There were some that will look at the wonderful thing He has done and only want
00:02:25
Speaker
to look for the next wonderful thing.

Faith in Today's World

00:02:28
Speaker
God is so magnificent and wonderful to us, and we're thankful for His continued blessings on today. I remember the good works of the Lord. In fact, we keep the Feast of God because they commemorate the mighty and magnificent acts of the Lord. The problem is that we live in a world today where there's not much faith.
00:02:50
Speaker
And so there's not much manifestation of God in the lives, but I want you to know God is a healer, he's a deliverer, but most of all, he is a grantor of salvation. The problem is today, I think, that so many people just tend to dwell on all the negative aspects of their life. And I want you to know you're gonna have some difficulty, there's gonna be some trouble, there's gonna be some trials in your life, things are gonna happen, but how can that outweigh
00:03:19
Speaker
the wonderful and magnificent and just the awesome blessings of God that He bestows upon His people. Praise God Almighty. Hallelujah. If we dwell on the goodness of the Lord, amen. If we just think of the goodness of God, something in us will surely cry out, I want you to know it's a sad life.
00:03:42
Speaker
Amen to live living in a negative place, oppressed and depressed and and and having trouble and I just some people just have a sad testimony every day. Hallelujah. But I'm so thankful that the blessings of God far out the way
00:03:59
Speaker
any of the negatives that can happen in life. In fact, the negatives in life are not even worthy to be considered when we look at all of the wonderful things God has done.

Focus on Blessings

00:04:10
Speaker
I want to encourage you today to look at the blessings in your life and not be distracted.
00:04:16
Speaker
by the difficulties of life. Surely, we're going to have them. I'm not trying to belittle that. You may be going through something right now today. But I would have you to know that if you're relying on God, then the things He has done and will do for you far outweigh any trouble, that trial that you're

Daniel's Unwavering Faith

00:04:35
Speaker
going through. I'm reminded that the Daniel and the three Hebrew fellows, we look at them as being shadrach,
00:04:44
Speaker
Meshach and Abednego, Daniel's companions. But the reality is that their captors changed their name so that they would forget who they were. Beloved, I want you to be careful. Don't let this world change you enough to where you forget who you are. They had to hold on. And so when they were challenged, when they were tested,
00:05:14
Speaker
They didn't forget their upbringing. They didn't forget their teaching about
00:05:19
Speaker
The Lord God, they didn't forget who they were in him, but they held fast. Why? Because even though they changed their name, praise the Lord, they never forgot their name. They never forgot who they were. And if we look at it, praise the Lord, Daniel simply means God is my judge. Hananiah, which was, if we look at those three fellows, their real names were Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah.
00:05:47
Speaker
Hananiah meant the grace of the Lord. Mishael, who is like God.
00:05:55
Speaker
And as Arai is, the Lord is my help. Praise God, if you can just remember, amen, that God has grace, that no one can judge you but him, that there's nobody like him, and that the Lord will certainly be your help, surely you can stand any test and any trial. Thank God they never forgot. So when the opportunity came for them to save themselves by bowing down to an idol,
00:06:22
Speaker
they refused. And I love their answer because they said, okay, we're not going to be careful how we answer you. Amen. I know you're the king and I know we're in captivity, but you talked about God now.
00:06:36
Speaker
And I'll stand on him if it means my life. I will stand on him. And there was one thing I won't be careful about. I won't dance around it. I won't sugarcoat it. I want you to know God is God and there is none other like him. So will you hold on today? Daniel chapter three, verse 15, it talks about the king,
00:07:02
Speaker
requiring the music and everybody to fall down in worship. And the 16th verse says, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego answered and said to the king, oh Nebuchadnezzar, we're not careful to answer thee in this matter. If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace. Listen to what he says. And he will
00:07:28
Speaker
deliver us out of thine hand, O king." Sometimes I think we misunderstand the point because in verse 18 it says, but if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy God. And I think sometimes we misunderstand verse 18 as saying, well, maybe they weren't sure. Verse 17 makes it very clear, he will deliver us. The answer though is king, that if we were going to have to die in the fiery furnace, if we were going to be forsaken,
00:07:58
Speaker
We still wouldn't serve your God. God is just like that. And I wonder how many of us have that answer today, that Lord, no matter what we have to endure, no matter what we may have to go through, no matter what the circumstances are, no matter what the trial may be, if I have to go through it, I still won't bow to the idols. Will you hold fast? Will you stand on the Lord? Will you hold Him and never forget
00:08:27
Speaker
God bless you. Grace and peace be unto you. This concludes our segment. We pray in the hope that what you just heard blesses and encourages you. Please join us next time on Grace Talk. Until then, God speaks.
