very short but concise words of

Understanding Spiritual Liberty in Christ

00:00:46
Speaker
God. And tonight,
00:00:47
Speaker
Today, I want to talk about spiritual liberty. It is the liberty that we obtain through Jesus Christ. There is no other source, there is no other way, there is no other access to this freedom, but through Jesus Christ. And it is because of his actions on the cross, his willingness to give his life for you that he's able to cause you to be free.
00:01:14
Speaker
from the bondage of sin. So spiritual liberty is freedom, but what is it freedom from? It's not freedom to do, it's freedom from the bondage of sin itself. We become the Lord's servants, but His yoke is easy and His burden is light.
00:01:38
Speaker
This liberty saves us from the corruptions of this world and the spiritual liberty guides us into the knowledge that the cross affords us in through a very narrow but straight gate. God has a standard and the Spirit will order our steps. And so we're thankful for this liberty. The world thinks that they're free because they can do
00:02:05
Speaker
But the reality is, is that real liberty comes when you no longer desire to do.

Biblical References to Liberty: Galatians and John

00:02:12
Speaker
So this liberty is a freedom from sin. Let me take you to the word. Galatians chapter five, verse one, lets us know that Jesus is the source of our freedom. What to say? Stand fast, therefore in the liberty,
00:02:29
Speaker
where with Christ has made us free. So we hold fast, we hold on to this profession of freedom in Jesus Christ. In fact, in Galatians 4 and 9 it says, but now after that ye have known God, or rather are known of God, how turn ye again to the weak and beggarly elements, wherein ye desire again to be in bondage. So the question then becomes why in this world today
00:02:57
Speaker
Do we proclaim a liberty that allows us to remain in sin? I'm so grateful and thankful, praise God, I'm so thankful and grateful that the Lord brought
00:03:09
Speaker
real freedom into my life and really Took me out of the bondage of the sin that I was in and it's the blessing of the Lord that he will do that Because this freedom this freedom that I'm talking about can only be found in God. You're not gonna find in the church You're not gonna find it in the preacher's hand. You're not gonna find it in a worship in worship service alone praise the Lord, but you have to have a faith and a trust

God's Omnipresence and Spiritual Freedom

00:03:39
Speaker
God. Second Corinthians chapter 3 verse 17 and 18 says, now the Lord is that Spirit.
00:03:47
Speaker
Praise God. God is a spirit. Amen. He is not a tangible, physical, being like man. He is not restricted by the physical laws that govern all of us. He is a spirit. And because he's a spirit, he's everywhere. He's there all the time. God is an all-powerful, omniscient, omnipresent God.
00:04:15
Speaker
Amen. So He's where you are right now. And in being where you are right now, He can offer you freedom from despair and discouragement and sin and the carnal things of this life. He's available to you wherever you are. It's not that you have to find Him in a place. He's in your place right now.

Worship and Transformation through God's Presence

00:04:39
Speaker
And where the Spirit of the Lord is,
00:04:45
Speaker
There is liberty.
00:04:49
Speaker
Hallelujah. And so we thank God. This is why when we come together in worship, that we're looking for the presence of the Lord to come in. We want him to come in and touch us and to bless us and to acknowledge that he's accepted our sacrifice. And when the Lord comes in and does that, praise God, there's a freedom that comes out of the expression of worship. Amen. Not a freedom that's temporary and fleeting, but it's a freedom you may come in one way,
00:05:17
Speaker
but God allows you to leave out another way. So true freedom does not keep you bound to unrighteousness because there's that unrighteousness that separates you from God. Listen, John chapter 8 verse 34, Jesus answered them very rarely, I say unto you, whosoever committed sin is the servant of sin.
00:05:43
Speaker
And the servant abided not in the house forever, but the son abideth forever, if the son therefore shall make hallelujah. If the son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed." What a wonderful opportunity that we have for the Lord to come in and not only free us, amen, but the firstborn son.
00:06:09
Speaker
the only begotten of Christ, the only begotten of God, Jesus the Christ. Having the authority of the firstborn son can free the servant, can set the captive free. And he's done that with his own blood.
00:06:25
Speaker
and with His own love for us. God bless you, and I pray, amen, that you will experience the freedom that God brings in your life, that you will accept it, and that you will walk in it, and that you will rejoice because of it. God bless you. Grace and peace be unto you. This concludes our segment. We pray and hope that what you just heard blesses and encourages you. Please join us next time on Grace Talk. Until then, grace and peace.
