Introduction to Live Service Games

00:00:13
Speaker
What's up, everybody? Welcome to the Log On Games podcast for Friday, August the 11th. On this episode today, I've titled it the Battle Royale of live service games. I don't know if that'll be what I do.
00:00:30
Speaker
When I upload it, but basically there's a million live service games. We're going to talk about which ones are doing well, which ones might die. And then there's a lot coming up and we'll talk about if we think they will be successful or not. So if you're a live service game person, but in this podcast, there will only be one left standing. Exactly. Only one can be successful. The rest will die. And you were saying something.
00:00:54
Speaker
Oh, no, I was going to say I'm probably the third wheel of this date, but then like I've only really dove into like one for most

Humorous Reality Show Tangent

00:01:02
Speaker
of my life. Right. I think there's some marathon talk going on. So, oh, there is like I didn't put Diablo four on the list, but we can talk about it as well. It's like, OK, I'm back on the date because there's just so many to put on the list. Yeah, I just like go through the Twitch and see which ones are doing well. But. Side note, completely random.
00:01:24
Speaker
My wife watches some clothing show that I don't know the name of, but it's a reality show where they make clothes or whatever. And it's so funny because sometimes I'm walking through the kitchen or out here in the other room. And when someone gets eliminated, one of you will win this challenge and one of you, and I always break in the room and I say, we'll die.
00:01:52
Speaker
Because that's what it sounds like. She's going to say one of you will be the winner and then one of you will die. I'll be like, whoa. I'll watch this show now. That's crazy.

Personal Updates and Guest Introductions

00:02:03
Speaker
Whether it's today, you can find them at X User 8X. Behind the brick wall still. We have Matthew Lewis on the podcast. Yo, yo, yo, yo, yo. One of the last times at the brick wall, man, and he'll be gone soon.
00:02:21
Speaker
This is or one of them? Is that what you just said? One of the last. One of the last. OK, OK. My lease runs out on the first. So before that, I got to. I need to be emotionally ready for that one. You might be in. You might be in Japan by the time the brick wall goes away. Could be. Well, no, because, yeah, so I think it's like you said he has you have to be out by the first.
00:02:50
Speaker
Okay. By the first. So then, so that Thursday will be, will be, I think the official last one. So I should be here for that. I, uh, I, we have a place that we have like an offer on that.
00:03:07
Speaker
We can basically send them the money and it's hours at any point right now. And it's kind of our backup plan because we like it, but don't love it. And so we're looking at a couple of other places before we make that final call. But if we go there, we have the option, and I will be using this option to move in three days early. Oh, a hundred percent, yeah. 30% of all of the leases in Boston are up on September the 1st every year.
00:03:34
Speaker
And so like you can't get a U-Haul if you even wanted one. It's like, yeah, they've been back up that brick wall, baby, back up that brick wall, but three days early, I'm good to go. So that's probably what we'll end up doing. We'll see. Just chisel like a little chunk out of one of the bricks, you know, keep it with you and frame it. I would like a little corner. Oh, so with us on the podcast today, you can find an at Brown berserker.
00:04:02
Speaker
behind not a brick wall. No. We have Andrew with us on the pocket. Andrew, why don't you tell us about your background. Tell us the whole story. The whole story? I mean, I think it's a pretty iconic image. I think it's titled The Great Waves. I can't remember the name of the artist, but yeah, it's a very iconic image. I've always liked it. Now, tell us about your personal background.
00:04:27
Speaker
Well, I was born in Canada, but then I moved to the United States in 1994. Just by yourself? Just by myself. I was on a tricycle and just right over the border. I'm out of here. Right over the border. Hey, story for another time, but the only time I ever went to Canada, I got detained for about an hour coming back in, so. Drugs. Drugs muggling.
00:04:55
Speaker
Strange. Something like that. No, they thought we were smuggling people, actually. I listened. Maybe, maybe you were. Maybe. Maybe this is all from. I was smuggling the people across the border that I took over the border with me in the first place. So I don't know if that counts.

Conspiracy Theories Discussion

00:05:11
Speaker
I watched a conspiracy theory show about how all mattress stores are smuggling drugs. Because it doesn't make sense why there are so many mattress stores in the US when not everybody buys a mattress every year. They made a lot of sense, you know what I mean? Yeah. There's one street somewhere in California that has like, like eight mattress stores.
00:05:38
Speaker
and like on like one block and they're like why why is this happening it's the mob yeah you've you've played prominence poker with us before right i have yeah you know how like you start out and just like you're just like kind of a back room somewhere and that's where you're playing i assume that is the back of a lot of a mattress store it could be go to your local mattress store tell them logon games sent you
00:06:01
Speaker
And then just start cutting into the mattresses and just see if you. Wow. You know, honestly, that's what we talk about here in New York is the amount of pizza places. And they're just like a front for the mob. Yeah. I don't know. How are they all staying in business in New York City? You know, I mean, it's like two bucks or something, you know, it's like it's quick. There's a lot more than that here. How many two dollars, how many two dollars slices of pepperoni pizza does it cost to pay the rent?
00:06:30
Speaker
of the pizza place. That's true. I mean, a lot of them are probably like from like the 80s and stuff. I mean, that's just a guess. But you know, they're probably old, you know, there is a person that Emily knows that lives in New York City in like a four bedroom apartment, like in the middle of Midtown. But in the the lease. It's like $150 a month or whatever, because her grandma paid that.
00:06:57
Speaker
And then it was a lifetime lease and then her grandma just transferred it to her granddaughter. That is incredible. It's absolutely incredible. And they're like, wow, this is the greatest thing ever. Yeah, no, seriously. Ivy, you know, Ivy's been on the show before, those of you listening, but he pastor of a church here and he's like 99% sure that there was a lady that used to be in the church that was living in a place that was owned by, like it was run by the mafia because they were like cash only.
00:07:26
Speaker
If something goes down, don't call the cops, call me. Like those kinds of things. Yeah. It's like, seems very mafia, but also probably the safest place you could be. You pay your, you pay your rent, you're getting taken care of. You're good. They just want no trouble. You definitely want a mafia landlord. Trust me. A hundred percent. That's what I'm looking for right now. That's what I'm looking for. I'm just, I'm trying to find the mafia for a place to look.

State of Live Service Games

00:09:20
Speaker
it does. Go to twitter.com. It takes you to X.com. Okay. It does.
00:09:25
Speaker
Um, I'm going to put, I'm just going to put an X now. And then I'm also going to put in threads, you know, let's just cover all the bases, you know, I think I've ever heard of threads is when you mentioned it on here. And to be honest, I'm not exactly sure if I have a lot on games threats, but I'm going to put it on here anyway. We can find my phone there.
00:09:49
Speaker
The phone's not in here. I like how you're asking us where your phone is. Where is it?
00:09:57
Speaker
What we are brought to you by is zencaster.com. It is where we record each and every one of our episodes and it happened for the better part of two years, over two years, I think, maybe? Going on three. Well, we've been doing the podcast. This, in six months, this January will be four years. Yeah, so it'll be three for Zencaster. It'll be three for Zencaster though, right? Something like that. Dang. Yeah.
00:10:28
Speaker
So if you ever wanted to start a podcast or you want, are looking to switch host or switch ways, you record and stuff like that and you want life to be really easy. Cause this guy right here, as easy as life can be, especially for recording podcasts. That's what I want. Uh, so we've been on Zincaster. You can use it straight from Google Chrome is what I use. I'm sure you can use it in other things, but I use Google Chrome.
00:10:51
Speaker
And we just record on here and it records everything locally and 99.9% of the time, everything works out well, but it is technology, you know what I mean? You know what I thought about the other days, if you could like whip out your cell phone and use Zincaster. You can. I don't know the answer to that question for sure. I don't know if you could host it from that, but you can jump in on those. Oh, that's cool. Done it before. I don't have my phone so I can't, we'll never know. I did it before with something.
00:11:21
Speaker
He did it with something. Anyway, if you're looking to start podcasting, you can go on here. They have free trials and stuff like that. But.
00:11:30
Speaker
if you are looking to really get into the thick of it where you can produce your show, you can upload your show, they'll pump it to all the platforms and stuff like that. You can go to zencaster.com backslash pricing and use our code logongames to get 30% off your first month of a Zencaster paid plan. 00:11:56
Speaker
lower cased all one word log on games, get your 30% off to the topic of the show. There's a lot of live service games, people a lot of them. Some of them are successful. Some of them are bitter, utter failures.
00:12:18
Speaker
So I thought we'd kind of go over which ones we play, which ones we don't play, which ones are coming out, which ones are doing well, which ones are dying and are on their way out, maybe what they can do to recover.
00:12:33
Speaker
Um, but how I want to start this. So I have a bunch in the outline with links. You don't have to click those. I got all the, some of those, some of those links are literally just, Hey, this is the game. Cause I just, I don't know. This is just what I did, but I'm going to start by going to Twitch here. Oh, so when to browse, we're going to talk about which ones are successful.
00:12:56
Speaker
According to Twitch, this is obviously viewer based right now. Valorant's number one, 316 K. It's PC only, obviously. In the past, like years ago, they're like, maybe one day we'll come to console. Supposedly, those rumors are heating up to where there's maybe a console beta coming. This year, hopefully, maybe so.
00:13:27
Speaker
Can I ask you guys a quick question? Yeah. Have you watched that game? I've watched it. We're talking about Valorant? Absolutely boring. It looks, it looks strange. You talking about Valorant? Yeah. Yeah.
00:13:41
Speaker
It's corner peeking. The whole game is just like corner peeking and like it has like cool flashy moves like overwatch, but it's just constantly like them shimming around a corner. Yeah. I keep thinking about playing just because some game pass. So like you get everything with game pass.
00:13:59
Speaker
Um, and so, but every time I look at it or think about it, I go, I think I want to play some Overwatch. It's like a slower Overwatch almost. Yeah. It's like Call of Duty. It's like, it's like if Overwatch was more Call of Duty ish, you know.
00:14:16
Speaker
I even think Call of Duty is faster than Valorant, to be honest. What I don't like about Valorant is the whole, there's just a million gun skins and stuff. It's like, do I really need skins for my guns? I was going to say, is it all hip-fire? Or can you scope? Can you ADS?
00:14:36
Speaker
I think it just depends on what character and good. Most of it looks like hip firing to me, but probably so. I think the only thing is the only reason Valorant has gotten as popular as it is, is because it's PC only and it has a little bit of that PC like master race kind of gotcha behind it. You know what I mean? Yeah. Like if it came out on everything, like from the jump, I just don't I don't think it would have gotten the hype that it got for some reason. I want to try it again with the game. So but I'm not going to try unless it comes to console.
00:15:06
Speaker
But every time I see it, the first thing is like, man, I thought, I mean, this is PC master race. Like I said, I figure this game would graphically look a little bit better than what it looks. I don't think that's the point of it, though, but I just feel like it's like I said, I compare it to like CSGO. It's supposed to be just, I don't know, technical and precise. Yeah. CSGO just got a just a I don't know if it's out yet or not. We talked about it on the show, I think like a massive graphic overhaul. So I went from like PS2 to PS3. Yeah. Nice.
00:15:36
Speaker
Um, Neil has moved to Miami and has died. So he's not on the show, but the escape from Tarkov, escape from Tarkov right now is on the top right now with 197,000 years. They must have had an update or something. I think they like, I think they, um, it's the word they call, I forget, they wipe. I think they wipe every so often and it's kind of like, Oh yeah. It must've been like a white new season deal.
00:16:06
Speaker
Again, a lot of these PC only, so I hadn't played them or tried them, but, uh, like league of legends up here as well. Obviously they always will be. I've tried. I, uh, what's funny is I have played like MOBA light vert, like MOBAS, but they're not as in like technicals league of legends and have had like a really, really good time with them. And then I tried league of legends like one time and I was like, it's too much, too much going on for me.
00:16:36
Speaker
Yeah, her Pokemon is the go to if, like, you can't get into the genre. That was me. I was. Yeah, I was. So only like competitive life service type game that I've hit, like the max ranking before, I believe, which is just master and Pokemon Unite. Um, Minecraft, does that count? Does it have a.
00:17:04
Speaker
cosmetics and stuff like what type of like okay see I don't know anything about it like I don't know yes cool stuff actually it's just so there's a store oh yeah yeah I didn't know that yeah wow absolutely and so you can buy cosmetics in terms of like making your guy look different which is super interesting because you can't see yourself
00:17:27
Speaker
So it's only how, well, that's not true. You can play third person. Nobody does. Um, but obviously the people you're playing with can see you. Um, and also you can buy like, I have a city texture pack and so it's all very, um,
00:17:45
Speaker
you know, like you have a sand block cement glass. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Right. Which you have that you have stone, you know, you have stone and glass and sand and all that stuff in the regular game, but it's just like a new texture pack. So it looks like more city is or ish or whatever. And so there's, okay. They may, they may take something that maybe like, it's just gravel in the regular game, but then you buy a texture pack and that gravel actually looks like a, I don't know, like a,
00:18:13
Speaker
tub or something. I don't know what it is. It's like 420 P to 10, 10 80. Gotcha. Well, I wouldn't even say necessarily that some of it is a little bit of that, but some of like, they just, you know, they can change it to make it whatever they want. Yeah. That block is whatever it is, you know? So actually I think it's helpful. I had, like I said, I had the city when I think I spent like three bucks on it years ago. And it's the only one I really wanted because it, you know, city looking tiles made sense for a game where you're building things.
00:18:41
Speaker
Was there recently like a patch or update or anything to this game? Like they update the last couple of days because there was, I don't know if it's like, I'm not on Twitch looking at the games all that often, but there was, you know, like in the top row. So I don't believe, um, there was any, I mean, I'm checking right now. I don't believe there was anything major in the patch though.

Overwatch 2's Latest Update

00:19:05
Speaker
Gotcha.
00:19:07
Speaker
Uh, just bug, just bug fix. So next on the list is Overwatch two, which has at the time of recording this, which is Thursday, August the 10th, they had a giant update today. So it's at 114,000 viewers right now. I don't know what it's normally at. I know it's not normally that high. Yeah. And actually pretty freaking low compared to what it used to be. Um,
00:19:32
Speaker
But there was a giant patch today. I went on there and played for like 45 minutes or something like that. I have a new support hero. The UI in general is very new. They added a lot of things. There's too many to talk about from like, there's new end screens. There's new, I think they call it like player mastery, which reminds me of,
00:20:00
Speaker
Halo 3's ranking system kind of back in the day, but basically the more you play with the character and the more you do good with the character, you kind of like rank that character up. So like, I assume it starts at like bronze and goes to whatever.
00:20:19
Speaker
And then I don't know if something special happens when you master a character or whatever. They added a new game mode today called invasion, which is your typical battlefield Call of Duty type thing, where you have to capture a point. And then once you capture a point, it moves to a different part of the map. And then you have to capture three points to win the match, whatever.
00:20:48
Speaker
Which I played one game of. So it's like a payload. It's not a payload. No payloads are happening. Yeah, but I mean, it's moving from one point to another, right? So the first point is always in the middle of the map. You go there, normal point, fight to get the point thing. After that, I don't know how many points on the map there could be, but it's supposed to be random. So it's a random spot in the map. It's like, you have to go there now, which
00:21:17
Speaker
The going from point to point and like the two matches I played was the fun part of like similar to the push map or game type which is like whether you like it or not like at least it's different for overwatch it's not just like capture the point or move the payload it's like because like team fights is overwatch everybody group up so we can
00:21:40
Speaker
Our team can fight their, our five can fight their five. You know, you don't want to, you want the numbers to be in your favor. Yeah. And when it goes from point to point, so I write this point's captured. This point opens in 15 seconds. You get that mayhem and that's not really in Overwatch yet where it's like somebody could have spawned in right beside that point.
00:22:01
Speaker
somebody on the other team could have been waiting over there, thinking, you know, guessing that that point's there. On your way there, it's like, you see people, so it's the whole thing of like, are you gonna fight on your way there? Are you gonna fight at the point? You know, kind of thing. So there's a lot of hectic chaos stuff that can, that can go down. And I was only playing on quick play, so I wouldn't get too sweaty, but it seemed like a fun time. And then the thing that irked me a little bit,
00:22:26
Speaker
This was this was there I would almost say this is like an overwatch to to 2.0 Just because of all the like quality of life changes things that people have been wanting for a long time They finally put in a game. They also put in the story the first batch of story missions in the game They've been talking about since the dawn of time. I Maybe I just didn't
00:22:54
Speaker
think about this, or maybe I just wasn't paying attention when we've seen streams and they've talked about it, but I was under the impression they were going to be free and they are definitely not free. So as far as I can tell, there's three missions and it's $15 to buy these three missions. I think that was always kind of the case though. I don't think, I don't know.
00:23:15
Speaker
I remember when the full blown, the full blown story thing that they were like, yeah, like Overwatch 2, which is all the skill trees and everything. I know that I knew that was going to be paid for, but when they were, they canceled that and they're like, we're just going to be pumping out these story missions. I thought that was just going to be like, okay.
00:23:31
Speaker
And how much gameplay time are you getting for 15 bucks? I know you can replay stuff, but like, exactly. I'm feeling like if I spend $15 and I play these three missions and beat them like I, I would be shocked if I wasn't just done with them at that point, you know? Yeah. Yeah. So I was, I went on there and it has a whole cut scene and I was like, Oh yeah, this is going to be fun. And then it was like, it's like you have to buy them in the shop. And I was like, what?
00:24:02
Speaker
It's also upset. That's all saying like the, you know, I'll bring in the destiny community complaining about, uh, the prices going up on the season pass, but you're paying 12 bucks for three months worth of content. Sure. That includes multiple armor sets, weapons, uh, probably two to three new activities for 12 bucks. You know what I'm saying? Yeah. And like, like you're saying you get three missions for $15 and you might go through them in like, I don't know, an hour, hour and a half. I don't know. And play it again. So like,
00:24:30
Speaker
The argument for it, though, is that it's free to play game. That's true. I mean, yeah, it's fine. I'm not upset that they're. Yeah, I just didn't. For some reason in my mind, they were free after they canceled the main game. Gotcha. Fair enough. Either way, the rest of the stuff seem really, really cool. So I'm excited to dive in. They seem cool enough. So we should play tonight. I mean, yes. Me and Colby played the last two games. Yes. Let's do it.
00:24:59
Speaker
Um, and the new heroes and the support here is really cool too. So obviously you can be the user. Give me the two minute rundown. Uh, she is, if you know, overwatch, she's a, he was a mixture of, she's a healer. Uh, she's a mixture of like Ash. Okay.
00:25:17
Speaker
From Pokemon? Ash Ketchum. She's like if Ash was a support character so like she can do damage. She also has like a little Symmetra turret she can throw out that heals people that are around her.
00:25:32
Speaker
okay but like her gunplay and stuff like that is is basically ash like she has the same kind of rifle deal is it hard and she has the same kind of like knockback enemies button or whatever she's pretty you know it's not difficult to understand at all and then her ult is just she throws down she uses the power of the sun they say in the game
00:25:55
Speaker
like throw this big sun ball at people and then whoever it hits the more damage they take they'll like explode so it's cool she can do more damage than a normal support character that's what i was about to ask here today she was healing like she was healing an ungodly amount that's the question that's because in my opinion that's where that's what they need is they need
00:26:17
Speaker
I understand why they've given the most recent heroes have been support heroes that can put out some damage. Like I get that because they want more people to play support and everybody's on there playing DPS. And so it's like, okay, well, here's some good gun play on a support hero and people will go, Oh, I can do that and have to wait 30 seconds instead of waiting five minutes to play.
00:26:40
Speaker
you know, soldier or whatever. I get that. But I really do think they need somebody else that is another Mercy-esque hero. Where it's like, hey, you just heal. So she has the healing turret, which is really good. And then her alternate fire is literally a heal beam.
00:27:00
Speaker
Similar to Mercy's, I guess. I mean, it looks different, obviously, and it works different, but it's just hold left trigger and it doesn't like attach to him. Uh, it's like, it's like a symmetric beam, but it heals people up really, really quick. So I liked her a lot. I healed a butt ton with her and she can do damage. So I assume her healing would be nerfed at some point, but or the damage one.
00:27:22
Speaker
Moving on, this is not a live service game, but Baldur's Gate 3 is sitting at 104,000, taking the world by storm right now, guys.

Spotlight on Baldur's Gate 3

00:27:32
Speaker
Oh, yeah.
00:27:34
Speaker
I think it's sitting at... I forgot about it. I'm going to go back to... My friends are starting to... They've already brought up the idea of treating it like a weekly D&D campaign where they get together and they'll play one night for so many hours and they pick up that campaign each week. I heard a lot of people that are in the D&D absolutely love that game. It is sitting at a 97 on Metacritic right now.
00:28:01
Speaker
Holy moly. A nine seven with a user score of 93. Yeah. There's just so many things about that game that keep pointing to like, man, I guess I got to try it then because like, I feel like I would like it, but also I just have, I mean, this could be, had zero desire. We talked about game of the year stuff the last two weeks. This could pop in there. I'm a 97 on Metacritic. I think it's going to be in discussions. It's blowing up right now. The question, the question really is, is.
00:28:31
Speaker
It is August the 10th. When we hit September the 10th, is it still being talked about or is it done? Is it gone? Like, is it, was it a flash in the pan? I mean, it'll probably be gone for the most part, but I mean, so has Hogwarts and so has, you know, Final Fantasy and Resident Evil 4 remake and all this kind of stuff. Sure, but I feel like Hogwarts stuck around for a bit. Yeah.
00:28:54
Speaker
Yeah. So that's, that's what I'm saying. Like, I'm not saying that it won't still be in a month, like, you know, super hot, but like, are those numbers that you're talking about on Twitch, are they like, you know, 80% of those numbers still going in a month? Cause that's, that's pretty killer. Well, the thing with this game though, is like the stories that are coming out of it are so unique to each player. And there's so many, there's so many different things that are happening. And like you can, like I saw a video where someone rolled a die to kick a squirrel and I was like, what? Yeah. Like what?
00:29:23
Speaker
Just like what is this sounds like it just sounds like a Thursday to me. I don't know Yeah, it's just I think it has enough to keep keep the ball rolling You know social media wise so we'll see I did see I don't know if this is a setting on the game that comes
00:29:40
Speaker
Like this is the default setting but there is a setting that is People like you need to make sure this is turned off or whatever But the dice rolling where if you start getting bad dice rolls the game will like start giving you good ones So you don't see things so there's a setting on there if you're playing the game where you can go and turn that off So it's like a hundred percent just random. I Like that would be the way to play. You know what I mean? Sure. Well, I mean if you're getting bad dice rolls your
00:30:08
Speaker
I mean, you're going to get better dice. It's just the law of averages, right? It's going to happen at some point. It's just how long it takes to, to even out or whatever.
00:30:20
Speaker
Fortnite sitting at 64 and a half thousand, you know, it's always doing its thing. Game and Chiefs don't give it, man. It's... Then I think I have somewhere in where it says... It's not... There was no update or anything like that. The new season... I think it said August 22nd?
00:30:40
Speaker
So I watched a YouTube, this is, this is, it just keeps blowing my mind how well that game keeps doing. I watched a YouTube video yesterday. It was actually skateboarding YouTube video where the kid's like, he's like 13 years old or whatever, and he's trying to do a trick or whatever. And the guy who's videoing him is kind of like one of the head guys or whatever.
00:30:59
Speaker
And they're like, Hey man, if you land this here, I'll give you five bucks or whatever. Right. He's like, how about if I land it, you get me that emote this like this. He's like, you want that emote? It's just like immediately, like we're still into that area where, you know, the 13 year olds of the world are like, don't give me five bucks. I'd rather you buy me this emote on Fortnite. Like that's pretty bad. They're killing it, man. They are absolutely killing it. And they did. Like if I click on here, let's just see.

Fortnite and Call of Duty: Warzone Updates

00:31:24
Speaker
I, my only question, which I don't know the answer to is I wonder what the ratio is of people now that play still play the normal mode with building versus the no, no build mode. I'm going to see. That's true. I'm going to research. Because I know that like, like Ninja, for example, who's like the number one Fortnite streamer all the time. I don't think he's probably gone back here and there, but he almost exclusively since no build mode came out has played no build. So I'm wondering.
00:31:55
Speaker
If that's just the way it is. I mean, that's only, that's the only way that I've ever played Fortnite. Like I have a, I have a number. When did don't build, don't build mode come out? Like February, I think like spring or something like that of 22, 22. I haven't, I have updated for March 30th of this year. Sure.
00:32:21
Speaker
I'm trying to see if I can find anything new or I guess that's the last thing that they've published They said the player this is I guess monthly I don't know. I don't know as much later whatever but the player count for regular was around 300,000 Whereas the zero build mode is typically between 150 and 250 so it's a little it's probably like 60 ish percent regular
00:32:49
Speaker
Makes sense. It's still good though. Yeah. And I think a part of that is, like I said, like when they do these big updates, like they do, they're working on no build mode as they go and taking in feedback and stuff like that. So they went from just regular no build mode to like putting in, you know, if you, the longer you survive, you get like a buff or whatever that you can, like a thing will come up and it's like, you can choose these two options.
00:33:15
Speaker
Do you want to be able to heal when you're in a bush? Do you want the first bullet from your magazine to do more damage kind of thing? You survive a little bit longer, you get another one and stuff like that. So they keep adding cool stuff. We'll see. Call of Duty Warzone, also Valorant for console players. Kicking at 52.8 thousand viewers. Good for them. I've tried it. I'm not a fan. Good for them. Good for them.
00:33:46
Speaker
Glad it's still alive and kicking in, I know a lot of people like it. What game are you talking about? Sorry, I missed it. Call of Duty Warzone. Oh, forgot about that game. Nope, people will be playing it. I mean, to the point where there's no other Call of Duty on this list at all, unless I scroll way down to the bottom. Yeah.
00:34:10
Speaker
It's kind of weird that they're still coming out with a new Call of Duty game every year. You know, six months after the games out, people were still just going to be playing. I think they accidentally. Uh, moved their fan base to a game. Permanently, you know, basically every, every new Call of Duty game that comes out, they're going to have a bunch of people that jump on and play, but I feel like people are just going to keep going back to war zone. That's just going to be the home. I think this is a.
00:34:40
Speaker
Should be a sign. Like they could just not make these Call of Duty games and then just pump more into war zone and then just make a single player story called for 40 bucks every year or whatever. Yeah. And I also feel like this because the same kind of people, there's a lot of people that only play Call of Duty. Like that's all I do. Just like there's the people that only play sports games and Fortman and an NBA. And NBA have a game to come out every year. Almost seems like if they just had one free one,
00:35:11
Speaker
that just an obscene amount of people will be playing it all the time for years to come. Yeah, FIFA as well. EAFC coming out. Yeah. That is the game that I played the most this week. Get back into it. Apex Legends sitting at 34.9K viewers still kicking. You think it's Apex 2 time?
00:35:38
Speaker
I don't, I mean, not if it's still doing, I mean, it's still doing really well. It's doing decent, but it's far behind some of those other things, right? Maybe a graphical update, unless they've already done that. They've, uh, they haven't really done it. Yeah, it looks good. But when the new consoles came out, they were like, they basically said like, we're going to have this crazy update coming soon or whatever. And they still haven't come out with that. So, uh,
00:36:06
Speaker
So they need a, they need something. They still, do they have duos yet? Like ranked? I don't think they have ranked. It's dumbest thing in the world. I don't understand it. Correct. I don't get it. Cause you can play duos not ranked, right? Yes. But here's the thing, like, I don't get it. The reason, the reason I,
00:36:32
Speaker
don't but also do get it but i don't get why i do get it that makes sense to you makes perfect sense it's like games like fortnite or whatever also never had ranked duos up in like fortnite just put in ranked duos this this current season i was like you never had ranked duos in fortnite do you understand that two people playing together like it happens quite a bit
00:36:58
Speaker
So maybe it's just a thing that just doesn't happen. I mean, they look at the numbers and they're like, no one plays duos compared to everything else. So there's no reason to do it. Team-based, is it? Or do they have team mode? I don't even remember. That's right. It's fours. It's fours, right? It's four, three, two, one, whatever you want to do. Well, I know, but I mean like there's four to a team or do they have like a three man team mode too?
00:37:24
Speaker
Yeah, there's three. I think, uh, I think three was like the normal, maybe it was four was like the first thing. Right. Well, so like three is the one like, no apex is three, three. Yeah. Yeah. Apex is three, which isn't like, I have no problem with three, but it's an awkward number. Right. Or like, I'm going to be playing with just somebody else or with a couple front, like.
00:37:48
Speaker
two or four, I think makes more sense than three in most cases. And so I get that three is like that happy medium, but I just, I don't, I just don't understand why they don't have, I honestly think if they had ranked duos, it would be more popular than their regular. Could be a regular rank. I just don't, it's just a weird one to me. Like if you're not going to have duos at all, that's fine, but to have unranked duos and to have it for years at this point,
00:38:14
Speaker
It just makes no sense. Why not? It's a really, really good out. I'd rather have nothing. That's right. I'd rather not eat than eat that crap. You know what I mean? It's really, really good game that I used to play quite a bit. Yeah. I like friends until Fortnite put in no build mode. Then we all just kind of defaulted to playing that instead. I would not do that. So I hadn't gotten back to it in a lot in a while, but, uh, it's a fun time.
00:38:44
Speaker
One of these days, I'm sure we'll get back into a good hardcore Diablo four sitting at twenty eight point seven K viewers.

Diablo 4's Playerbase Decline

00:38:51
Speaker
Obviously it would it set the world on fire and then season one came out and calmed the fires a little bit. I'd say as far as far as the mass player base goes. Sure. Seems like the first season people were just like.
00:39:06
Speaker
uh you ruined it a little bit so yeah i expect that number to go up of as expansions come out they dug a hole and now they have to get themselves out of it
00:39:20
Speaker
I don't know how to, I actually don't know. Well, it was the nerves, the nerves, I think screwed them. And then everyone that was part of it. Yeah. I honestly, I honestly think it's just, it's kind of the same that a lot of these games face once you get to a certain point, like once you beat the story and it's just like, okay, now you beat the story.
00:39:41
Speaker
You can go grind now. It's like, that's a lot of people will fall off of that. I've just, yeah. And so like, you have to make that part still fun. And I actually do. It's, I think they've done a much, much, much better job than they did with three in terms of that stuff, but you know, it's.
00:39:59
Speaker
It's if you like grinding for the, that level, that's going to take you days and days and days to get to, this is the game for you. That's what, that's what happened to me as I did that. I was like my, you know, once we beat the campaign, I was like, my goal is to get to world tier four. Actually that time I was like, I want my character level a hundred. Once I got to world tier four, I was like, okay, I've played this game a lot. It would take a long time to get to a hundred.
00:40:27
Speaker
It's crazy seeing streamers with every class at 100. Like it's just like, holy crap. Did you can look up videos is like from from the very beginning, I was like, these are the specific nightmare dungeons you need to do. And it was like, go in there, clear it out. Don't beat it. Leave. Go back and do it again. Have one of your friend at another dungeon so you can go over there, get the XP, come over here like it was crazy. It was crazy XP for videos going on. But that's just like I don't.
00:40:57
Speaker
I don't want to play a game that way. Like at that point I'm not playing the game. I'm just exploiting the game to get what I want. You know what I mean? Like I want a game to be fun to play, not just the game itself is fun. And the story mode is actually a pretty beefy story mode. Like it was very long. It was really, really good. That grind is tough. It's grinding. I'll definitely be excited when a big expansion comes out for the, for sure.
00:41:28
Speaker
As long as it doesn't suck, Andrew. You know what I mean? What was it like for you, Andrew? Are you still on the Diablo foreground? Have you fallen off as well? I started a new character for the season. I might have played like five to ten hours and I haven't played since. But that might not just be Diablo. It might just be me because I haven't been gaming as hardcore. But yeah, it's like
00:41:54
Speaker
I was excited for when I beat the story. I was like, oh, the real grind starts now. And instead of continuing with that character, they're like, oh, new season. I'm like, oh, cool. New chance to start something new. And maybe that wasn't the best decision for me. But yeah, yeah, I don't know. I started that new character and I haven't played so. Yeah. Yeah. I'll be interested to see. Game would be ripe for raids, by the way. Oh, my God, please.
00:42:24
Speaker
Please. They would be amazing. You're right for the plucking. Right for the. I'm a big pluck in the right things.

World of Warcraft Console Expansion Speculation

00:42:33
Speaker
World of Warcraft sitting at 24.2K. I call it Fortnite, the gift it keeps on giving. Geez Louise. Whenever this Xbox Activision deal goes through, I would be shocked if one thing that Xbox does, whether they announce it or not is whatever we have to do to get World of Warcraft on console, specifically Xbox and on Game Pass. That's what we want to do. Because there would be a gigantic jump.
00:43:01
Speaker
It would be, I will say, I will say getting it on console from a control perspective would be difficult because aren't you like, you say that, but people say Diablo, you know, controls better on a controller, but don't you have 10. That's my cup of tea. Don't you have 10 spells equipped one through zero on world of Warcraft at all times? Like that's, that's a lot of buttons to try to figure out where they go.
00:43:29
Speaker
Oh, yeah. No, wait. I mean, think about Final Fantasy 14 on console. I don't know how they do that, but like the amount of spells you can have in that game is ridiculous. It is. So I don't understand. You don't do it like Harry Potter, like Hogwarts Legacy has, you know, I mean, you said the D-pad opens up. That's true. More options. Hold down. You have your or you have your face buttons, you know, hold down left trigger. You got. I can do it. I think you believe in them. I think if I were to do it, I would have.
00:43:58
Speaker
Like in Hogwarts where you hold down a trigger to pull up three more spells that you can then press your buttons for or whatever. I think I would go D-pad for that. You hold down up and then it pulls up three, four. You hold down, it pulls up four. Go that route and then you have a bunch. Or like on a... They would have to get creative with that for sure. On fantasy star new Genesis that we've played, I think there's like eight to 10 all in the bottom row, but you just, you're either clicking in while you can... The way I have it set up.
00:44:25
Speaker
is you click in left stick or you click in right stick and it just like goes through them so as you're playing you can kind of do it. There's ways and there's different ways you can change that in that game too. Rocket League sitting at 15.7k viewers.

Rocket League's Enduring Popularity

00:44:43
Speaker
This is a game. It's like, listen, they haven't touched this game in what seems like a decade. Except for the soundtrack. And it's still popping. Yeah. The reason people are still playing it's because the game itself is just fun to play. And, and works like you never play rocket league and go.
00:45:03
Speaker
Well, that was really glitchy or that was like, like, like your internet. I'm not trying to downplay it, but I hope a game that simple. Doesn't crash or have glitches. While I agree with you, there are a whole lot of games that just don't pull it off. So what is it? Is it, is it four cars a match? How many cars a match? Three V three norm. Normally it's three, but there's also a four mode and there's also a two and a one.
00:45:27
Speaker
Okay. So you have like a giant oval stadium, two goals and, uh, six cars. Like I would hope that it doesn't crash. Well, cars crash. You know what I mean? It's all internet based. Like, I think how matchmaking works on rocket league is like they have the host, you know, one of the six people counts as the host. So if their internet is Garbo, you will have those matches where it's just like.
00:45:57
Speaker
Oh my god, you're skating around or something like that. The cars are teleporting? Yeah. Okay. But usually they get kicked pretty soon if that's the case, or whatever.
00:46:09
Speaker
Well, they're cheating, you know what I mean? Freaking cheaters. Freaking cheaters, bro. The whole besides the game of Rocket League, everything else would battle pass and and skins and the wheels and everything you can unlock and stuff. I hate it so much. They mess it up. I hate it. They messed all that up. Oh, wait, how did they mess it up?
00:46:30
Speaker
I mean, I didn't necessarily, I don't think the way they did it before would work now, but it used to be like you would get a chest. It was a loot box system. You got all these boxes. Okay. You would unlock them just by playing them. And then you would have to buy purchase keys to unlock the box.
00:46:47
Speaker
And each box like this, it would be like, this is the Champion Series 4 crate. And here are the items that you could possibly get in it. So you'd buy a key and open it up and it'd be whatever. Now they changed it like two or three years ago to a blueprint system where it's like, we have a shop now where you can just spend money on what you want.
00:47:09
Speaker
But then you have to pretty much justify, do I want to spend $20 just to get a different skin or a gold explosion? No, I do not. For normal people. You prefer the randomness of the boxes. Yeah. I prefer being able to afford some things.
00:47:27
Speaker
Correct. Like I would, we were talking about the other day, it's like I'll spend, uh, $5 to get the keys to open the crates or whatever, which I think you got five, I think it was five for five. Right. Yeah. Uh, I'll do that five times, which is obviously a total of $25.
00:47:45
Speaker
because of what I might get out of the crate before I'm going to be like, Oh, that goal explosion is $23. I'll buy it. I'm just not, I'm not doing that. Just not. Yeah. Because you have the chance of like, listen, I could only have to spend $5 and get what I want. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. But then I have to, I don't have a choice, but to spend.
00:48:02
Speaker
20 to $25 to get the high end items or whatever. But then they have blueprints as well. And it costs the credits, which is like the microtransaction things, but it's the same thing. It's like, Oh, you got this really rare blueprints that you have to build it. And it's going to cost you $20. Right. It's just rough. The prices are rough. Yeah.
00:48:26
Speaker
I don't, what are we feeling as far as another Rocket League or some giant update ever, or is it just kind of,

Destiny's Final Shape Expansion

00:48:35
Speaker
this is what it is? I think they'll update it, but I wouldn't, I don't think Rocket League 2 is necessary at all because that game's running 4k at 120 plus frames. I mean, that's what I think. I play at 4k 120 on PS5. Yeah, so what's the point? What's the point of the Rocket League 2 right now, right? I don't know, or just like, I don't know.
00:48:56
Speaker
Like some sort of big, like there just hasn't been a giant or big update in like years. I can see a big update, but I just can't see them to where like, here's five brand new maps. There's four brand new cars. Here's maybe slightly graphical improvements, or we're implementing this new, whatever. Like it's just been nothing.
00:49:19
Speaker
It's like every once in a while there'll be an event and they'll drop a new map. It happens like once a year, twice a year. Here's a new, and by a new map, the structure of the arena is the same. It's what you can see outside. It's like, oh, look, you're in an amusement park now. I'm like, oh, look, now you're in a city in Brazil. I'm like, okay, well, that took you, I'm not saying that wasn't difficult to do, but only pump like one or two of those out a year. It seems a little strange to me. Yeah.
00:49:48
Speaker
I think they're just collecting just obscene amount of money. Like, let's get games. The game itself is good. Let's just collect checks forever. Yeah. I don't know what they would do. What else? We talked we had a whole podcast about destiny. Even since then, things happen. We are
00:50:09
Speaker
12? Is it August the 22nd or is it August the 20th for the stream? Oh man, I can't remember the date. Final shape. 22nd would be the Tuesday. 20th would be a Sunday, so probably more than likely the 22nd. August 22nd. August 22nd. At 12 p.m. Eastern time. How are you feeling about it?
00:50:41
Speaker
Uh, it's sad. Just the game as a whole. Are you one of these people that are leaning more towards after the final shape? It might just be time to move on or what?
00:50:52
Speaker
Uh, no, um, I'm always going to be curious about destiny. It's future where it's going to be. I'm probably always going to dip in, but this is the first time I'm not hype, which is very sad because I've been playing the game for like, I don't know, was it nine or 10 years? Uh, but of course on the 22nd, I will be there to see it because I am curious and I hope it, I hope I see whatever it is and it blows my mind, but
00:51:17
Speaker
Yeah. Do you think that we'll talk about what's happening after the final shape and not, I'm not talking like seasons after I'm talking about, like, do you think they'll hint at anything like, and after the final shape and the rate and everything is over, there's going to be this, uh, possibly they've done it in the past. So possibly, I don't know what percentage that would be that they actually do that, but yeah.
00:51:43
Speaker
So I'm curious for sure. Curious for sure. I'm really ready for that stream. But that being said, I'm just setting myself up for disappointment, I think.
00:51:56
Speaker
So no, no, no. Whoa. Has there ever been a reveal you've seen with that game that you are disappointed? Because I don't think I've ever been disappointed. No, but that means that this might be the one because and the reason I say that is because it's weird that like the destiny people that are like showing face and talking keep.
00:52:20
Speaker
defending the decisions they're making, rather than saying, like, yeah, we hear you guys, if that makes sense. They're always like, no, well, the reason we did this is because this and this and this. Like, you're not listening. We say what you did sucks and we don't like it. We don't need the reasoning behind why you did it. We want certain things to change, not be like, well, the reason we can't do PvP maps anymore is because or armor sets. They've dug such a hole. That's what I'm saying. It's sad, man. It's so sad.
00:52:49
Speaker
Like, just tell the truth. The reason you're not doing as much with Destiny is because everybody's working on Marathon. That's the reason. You just aren't seeing it. I was about to ask, how much of the resources you think are going to Marathon? And there's also a new unannounced game that they're working on too. Yeah, there's also something else coming. Marathon in that game is what y'all are working on, and you have a smaller team working on Destiny. That's the real truth, but you're not saying it. Of course. I think I agree with you. Well, what are the odds that the new unannounced game is two or three years away and is Destiny 3?
00:53:17
Speaker
That's possible. I would say it's possible. See, I was, I was on the assumption it's a brand new IP and it has nothing to do with that. So it could be, but marathon could be the new IP that they were.
00:53:29
Speaker
Well, well, I mean, yes and no. I mean, marathons going to be just strictly PvP. So like, yeah, I think that's where the PvP team from destiny went to. And that's why it's not getting any love. Yeah, exactly. But I also believe whatever matter is, that is a completely separate IP. So there's going to be three main IPs under a bungee, I believe. I agree with you. But I would say there's a 10% chance that it's a destiny three.
00:53:59
Speaker
I would say there's a chance that it could be like, this is full blown Destiny 3. Also, I think I've talked about it before, but I absolutely, in every way, shape, or form, have hated every single thing they've done in Destiny for PvP. I can't stand it. Wow. Since day one, I've not been a PvP person. Matthew basically just said the gunplay in Destiny sucks. That's what I heard.
00:54:26
Speaker
The game is too good PVE for you to like shoehorn PVP in there, which is what I feel like it's always been. So, and then there's nothing that I hated more than it's like, all right, I'm getting all these bounties. Oh, I have to play PVP to get these bounties. Crap. They've made big changes in that regard. You're not forced to play. That was a back in the day problem.
00:54:53
Speaker
No, I agree. I agree. You would do like seven layers of this quest and then you'd be like, right now you need to get 100 headshots with a specific weapon. And oh, dude, the thorn, if you die, it goes away. And it's like if you die, you lose points where they're like, no, no. I know it's not even that big of a deal, but I almost would prefer it be on the main menu of the game. When you start the game up, you pick your character,
00:55:21
Speaker
or you pick, I'm going into PVP and you just leave it all over there. It's like completely separate. I don't know. I just don't know. My problem with PVP is to click on Crucible and enter the matches. It is. My problem with PVP from day one was these are the Halo developers. So when they're like, oh, this is going to have PVP, I was really excited. And then I played it and I was just like,
00:55:48

This isn't anything that not that I know it's not going to be Halo. It's two different. It doesn't. Yeah, it's way too different. They added like. It just didn't feel like a it didn't feel smooth like it was. What was the game mode where you're fighting PvE and then all of a sudden people can run into your game and shoot you gambit. Hate it. God, I hate that. I'm a big gambit guy. I do. I know. I hate it.
00:56:13
Speaker
Most people hate Gambit, though, to be fair, the majority of the Destiny community. But I don't get it because it's so PvE dominated and all you need to do is get one guy on your team that loves PvP and you're like, you go over and do all that stuff. We're just going to kill the mobs over here. You know what it feels like to me? It feels like playing the division when it's like I'm going to the PvP area now where it's just kind of like, OK, I'm doing this thing. I'm trying to get this. And then all of a sudden I get shot in the side of the head from somebody. I was like, what?
00:56:42
Speaker
I hate it. I just hate it. I get it. That's four people. It's not for me. It's not really for anybody to the point where they like the last state of the game. They basically literally came out and said, Hey, you don't have to play gambit anymore. If you want to get these rewards, you can do it differently now. That's not best because no one likes game except for me and Andrew. I just don't get why people don't like it. If I would have heard them say that, if I'd have watched that when it, when that was announced, I probably would have ripped my clothes off. Enjoy.
00:57:11
Speaker
I don't believe you. Um, we'll see. Hopefully the final, I mean the witch queen expansion is, uh, the free, the free PS plus game for this month or next month, this month, right? That's the one I bought, right? Yeah. That's not the newest one. No, but it's the new ones get all the light stuff. What's that one called?
00:57:36
Speaker
Lightful. I knew it was light something. Light stuff would have been a better name. That's their filler arc. I mean, the Witch Queen expansion being free for PlayStation people was awesome. Everyone should jump into that one. It's really good. That is where I got, that's where I jumped back in after not playing for a while. And as far as expansions go, like there's a chunk of stuff they put in.
00:58:00
Speaker
Oh, yeah. Like it is. And it's by far the best campaign as well. Yeah, it's a thick, thick boy expansion with two C's. All right, let's try to blow through some of these that I still have on here.

Halo Infinite's Development Challenges

00:58:14
Speaker
Halo Infinite. What a weird game that no one plays still. It's going to be the fastest game to ever disappear that's named Infinite.
00:58:25
Speaker
I give it a slight chance because short, short story of Halo Infinite. Obviously, we all know how it started. Once it came out, just absolute garbage truck on fire for a year. Yep. And then a lot of people got fired. A lot of people came were hired back to work on Halo that worked on the Master Chief Collection.
00:58:52
Speaker
Um, and that worked on past Halo games that were successful. Now, forget the name of the guy that they put in charge, but he was on, he was in charge of, I believe Master Chief collection, maybe Halo two multiplayer or three multiplayer or something. Since that kind of team has been in there, which has been for like the last year. They're at least doing what they should have done when it launched, when it comes to.
00:59:16
Speaker
Here's maps, here's content, here's consistent updates. Here's, when you listen to what you're saying on feedback, you don't have, you're not waiting six months to a year to get a solution to this problem kind of thing. They're doing really, really good things. Like if you go on and play that game now, you're like, holy crap, look at all the game modes, look at all the maps, look at everything. You're like, wow, this is incredible.
00:59:38
Speaker
Problem is, it's too late. You did it too late. Has Forge come out yet? Did I miss that? Yeah, Forge is out and that's partly because the really, really good Forge maps.
00:59:52
Speaker
They're like, Hey, this is really good. There's no reason for us to remake it. Cause this is better than we would do. Let's throw it in. Sorry, enslaved people love it. Kind of thing. You know, I don't understand people don't do, and I guess this or some people that do it, but for games like that, right? Especially games of service games that are coming out that you're fully relying on.
01:00:15
Speaker
people consistently getting on, playing your game and getting their friends to play your game, right? Like they're not, they were not relying on somebody to go spend 60 bucks on their game and sweet, I got your money. It doesn't matter if you like it or not. Like this is a game of service. They're gonna keep making it and keep making money off of you, hopefully, right? Especially as a game pass deal. Why don't they just go, all right, well here is every Xbox account that we have that played Halo 4. Now here's a survey we're sending them.
01:00:43
Speaker
Just a quick survey. I think they did do that. I didn't get one.
01:00:49
Speaker
Did you play Halo 4? I played it on your console. But I mean, there's just some things. Like, hey, when this game comes out, what game modes would you like to see day one? Or priorities? What's your top three game modes? Or things of that nature. That seems like really obvious things that they just whiffed on, that if you would have just asked your players, you'd have known exactly what they wanted in about 12 seconds.
01:01:17
Speaker
So I don't know is this part of the problem those 343 which is just like they did the exact same thing with halo infinite that they did with halo 5 which was I'm not talking campaign aside. They made a really really good multiplayer game
01:01:33
Speaker
and then backed it up with absolutely nothing. And then with Halo Infinite, they did the exact same thing, where it's like, what is wrong with you people? You just did this. Like the reason everybody's like, Halo Infinite really needs to hit is because of what you did, the mistakes you made on Halo 5.
01:01:51
Speaker
and you just did them again. So done. But right now, the game's in a great place. It's just no one's really on playing them. It's possible we have a No Man's Sky situation where it slowly builds over time to get back to some form of glory. But if this Halo Battle Royale is in the works, once that comes out, anything that, if it's good, anything that Halo Infinite's doing anyway is gonna be,
01:02:17
Speaker
I think they would be wise to say is this battle royale that comes out is that it's in Halo Infinite. I think you go to the multiplayer. I would as well. But the rumor is that it's in Unreal Engine 5. So that would mean it would have to be a different thing. I agree. We'll see. But yeah.
01:02:42
Speaker
It was a fun game. It's just some really dumb decisions. And the question is how much of it falls to 343 studios and those people in there or how much does it fall on Xbox? And I don't really know what that is. Probably a bit of both. If you if you are interested even a little bit in what Halo Infinite looks like now or you want to go in and play it, it's obviously it's still free. Still free game. Just go download it and just look at the stuff. You might get back into it.
01:03:10
Speaker
Yeah. All right. I'm going to blow through the new ones.

Anticipation for Upcoming Games

01:03:15
Speaker
X Defiant played the beta, enjoyed it. Very Call of Duty-y. Same people that made Call of Duty made this specifically to compete with Call of Duty. Right. Still supposed to come out in summer. It can drop any day, honestly, I think.
01:03:34
Speaker
But like we said, if you're making an ongoing game, there's no reason, zero reason to release the game unless you have the next six to 18 months worth of content ready to go. Or at least you know what that's going to look like. Exactly.
01:03:54
Speaker
Seasons, if you're doing a seasonal model, if you're doing battle pass model, if you're going to do expansions or DLC, like you have to have a lot of that done and ready to go before the game comes out to have a shot, or you're just going to have your three months and no one's going to care ever again. So we'll see if X to find can do that. I really enjoyed what I played. It's, it's a very, very sweaty call of duty game. So if that's not what you want to get into, ignore it. Uh, division heartland.
01:04:26
Speaker
Yep. It's a game that still exists when they showed it off. I was very disappointed, but it's not out yet. I think it was supposed to be already, which makes, which is a good sign. I think hopefully they took feedback on what the division people were saying when they saw that and being like, this kind of looks gross. Um, marathon. We're supposed to see gameplay next year.
01:04:56
Speaker
I'm looking forward to that. Did they say it was coming out next year? I don't think so. But if the final shape comes out in February, you would assume the earliest that Marathon would even come out would be like
01:05:10
Speaker
late summer. Yeah, I was going to say summer. That was, uh, yeah. Um, so like August, September, October, it was my guess at the earliest that game even comes out. The article that you posted, which is, I think back from when they actually announced it said, bungee's mystery PVV P game, it will be their next non destiny game out sometime in the next few years. That's what it says.
01:05:36
Speaker
Um fair games, which was the first game that the playstation showed off in their showcase the little like heisty extraction shooter thingy magic We don't have gameplay because they showed like no gameplay. Yep, but there's a million heist Extraction shooter games that might be the next battle royale. I don't know. We'll see. Yeah. Yeah The ones that i've played so far has been garbo which was that like rainbow six extraction game? Yeah, terrible game that was
01:06:04
Speaker
Um, and then the last one I have on my list is the last of us multiplayer game.

Bungie's Future Projects Speculation

01:06:09
Speaker
Never. Which could be anything from a really, really good live service game to like the division to a very stripped down, just normal multiplayer game that they throw in with the last of us to remaster. I have no idea what to think.
01:06:27
Speaker
About this game and it's weird andrew because obviously we've been talking about destiny That like bungee's the one that looked at the game and was like no this isn't it But What bungee's doing with destiny now? It's like well, maybe you shouldn't listen. Yeah Yeah, that's interesting. Yeah, the last of us thing like you said it almost has that feeling where it could be anything from like feeling like a dlc
01:06:57
Speaker
to winning game of the year anywhere in between. Pretty crazy. There was a report that came out this week, uh, from PlayStation. I don't know if it was like a investor's report or whatever, but it said that internally, uh, handful of games have been delayed. So there's a lot of people speculating on what games that could be the last of us multiplayer being one.
01:07:24
Speaker
Possibly the next ghost of Sushima game being one. Sure. Sure. Um, et cetera, et cetera. But I will say this about the last of us multiplayer, even though I felt like all of the other multipliers that Naughty Dog has done have been like fine. They've been okay. It'd be fun, but not like incredible. Uh, like they're spending some time on this. So like it, it would be very disappointing for them if it came out and wasn't like top gear.
01:07:52
Speaker
Or just doesn't come out at all. You know, that's true. It's going to, is it going to come out before that game that Neil wants that you say it's not real? Well, that game, uh, the day before is supposed to come out in December, but that game is not real. So it's not coming out. I think for the last three years, it's had a release date and never hit them because the game's not real. So.
01:08:18
Speaker
percent if you want to if you if it is real and you want a good laugh go look up the day before reveal trailer like the first one and then look up the last trailer that they put out and it's literally looks like you went from watching like if the division was a 8k 240 frame masterpiece to it looks like a mobile game
01:08:47
Speaker
It's something else. I tell you though, if they capitalize on that, I don't, I don't, I, I'll be shocked if they do, but the idea behind that game is incredible. It's not a real game. So it doesn't matter. Um, any games that I missed or you guys want to touch on the service standpoint, not really.
01:09:10
Speaker
Sure, I didn't. Remnant Tuesday night a game into service, but it's just really good game still. So we'll throw that out there. Got the Archon class. So I'm happy, boys. I can be a storm storm, transfer storm, walker, whatever it's called from. Yeah, I haven't played in a minute. It's good. Very good. Sick. Any final thoughts? Thought thirsty hose out there. Oh.
01:09:39
Speaker
Now the real question is really just what is, what's, uh, what are Sony's game to service games coming up? I mean, marathon, it's like the only one we know about really, right? Yeah. We don't know about Sony's games coming up at all. No, but we know for, for beyond 2024, Wolverine is a game and Death Stranding 2 is a game. Those are the only two games we know about.
01:10:05
Speaker
But they've doubled down and said more than one time about this 10 game of service thing. So they're common, but what does that mean? Like how many of those are marathon esque, like, like in triple anus and how many of those are like fall guys? Triple anus. Yes. Any other final thoughts?
01:10:30
