Introduction and Topics Overview

00:00:14
Speaker
What's up, everybody? Welcome to the Log On Games podcast for Friday, March the 29th. On this episode today, we're going to talk about things we've been playing. We might talk about some Destiny. We might talk about Fiddle Spencer, saying that maybe the Steam and Epic Games Store may come to an Xbox one day. We also got a new 6v6 hero shooter Marvel game thing.
00:00:43
Speaker
Just stuff, man, just stuff going on. We'll probably talk about food. We might talk about mosh pits again. I'm starving. Dude, every time we do this, like, I'm like, as soon as we're done, I'm eating. I get it. Yeah. I ate gumbo before I came on here and I'm ready to eat. No joke.

Daily Routines and Work from Home

00:01:02
Speaker
My eating schedule's strange.
00:01:05
Speaker
Cause I've never been one to eat breakfast ever in my entire life. I mean, I've eaten breakfast before, but even when I'm up, I'm just like, I just don't want to eat. I'm like morning. I already don't like morning, but not a morning person hate mornings. If it says to am no one should even be able to leave their house until it says PM on the weekend. What time do you normally wake up on the weekend?
00:01:27
Speaker
I mean, every day is the weekend, you know what I mean? That's good. It just depends on usually when I go to bed. Cause like I work from home and I do music from home. I do my actual work from home. And then on weekends, if I have to work a wedding with my wife, it depends. Like sometimes we have to wake up super early. Sometimes we don't have to be there until like 12. So like, it just depends.
00:01:58
Speaker
When you get to sleep in, how hard do you sleep in? I mean, it's sleeping pretty hard. I'm jealous. I'll go to bed. If I go to bed before 3 a.m., that's like, wow, that's early.
00:02:15
Speaker
See, for me, like when the weekends come around, I take advantage of my time that I have left and I will stay up till five a.m. on the weekends. And then I'm up at like nine the next day. My brain is just like I'm so I can't wake up after 10. Like I will lie in bed sometimes like I'll probably doze off and go back to sleep. But for the most part, like my eyes will open up between like
00:02:40
Speaker
Anyway, as early as 730 and up to like nine something in the morning after staying up late the previous night, my brain's like, all right, next day, let's go. I'm somewhat similar, but I don't have a problem sleeping past 10. Yeah, I woke up at 11 today. Yeah. What?
00:02:55
Speaker
Like if I stay up till five a.m. eight hours, which is which is it happens, you know, you get three hours from five a.m. is one p.m., you know, and I got to get my eight hours in. Yeah, I would rather stay up and then sleep in. You know what I'm saying? I don't have control of that. I just I'm a night person. I like doing things at night. Like it's weird. Like I don't know. But I'm the same way as if if I wake up
00:03:22
Speaker
I can't go back to sleep. Like if I say up till five and I happen to wake up at like 10 30 because the dogs are barking or like the Amazon person comes in or something or someone knocks on my door and I have to go answer, like I can't really go back to sleep. I'll try to, but it just like never works.
00:03:39
Speaker
But I mean, I'll go to bed anywhere between like 2.30 AM and 5.30 AM. On average. Yeah, on average. And so I wake up anywhere between like 10.30 and 1.30. It just depends.
00:03:53
Speaker
So that explains why you're not much of a breakfast person because it's already kind of like almost lunchtime at that point. Yeah, but it hurts me to think that if he is awake that early, he's like, nah, I'm not going to eat. Dude, if I'm awake, I'm excited to eat all the time. Listen, it's science. I'll get scientific with you. My wife would moan and groan right now. People eat dinner, right? It's usually a big dinner.
00:04:17
Speaker
What happens when you eat dinner? All the freaking energy and crap gets stored because you have to exert energy to release all the nutrients that you get after dinner. But normally people just eat dinner and then like watch movie and go to bed or game and go to bed. You're not exerting any energy. When you sleep, you're really not exerting that much energy either. So when you wake up, you're going to eat breakfast again. That's how people get fat.
00:04:40
Speaker
Well, the thing is, if earning it to the science of it, everyone has a base metabolic rate. So you cannot do anything for the whole day. Your body is still because to keep you functioning, you're going to burn 1,600 calories just by
00:04:58
Speaker
existing. So that's why like you can eat the whole timing thing. Like I think it's more so like, you know, so you're not feeling bloated or like full at night, but like, you know, you can be a hermit and you're still burning calories. So you can eat a late dinner, but like you just might. If I, I mean, I love breakfast food might be one of my favorite types of food. We do breakfast food for dinner. Breakfast for dinner. Oh my God. One of the best things dude.
00:05:26
Speaker
If I'm going to eat something in the morning, it's usually like, like when we went on vacation, we were, we went to Universal Studios. We're like, we're gonna, we're there from open to close. They open at like 8 a.m. Like, we're going to be in line waiting.
00:05:38
Speaker
to get on these rides and have a good old time. It's usually like a bowl of fruit. It's like as high as I'll go in the morning. It's like, all right, something's in my body. My body's not freaking out as I'm walking 30 miles today until I, but typically I eat when Emily comes home at like five, five 30, I'll be like my first meal and then I'll eat again at like midnight. So I usually do like two meals a day.
00:06:01
Speaker
Yeah. I mean, I, I get, I get where you're coming from because I can do a two meal a day type situation, which sometimes I feel like it does work out, but the meal has got to be like enough to carry me over. Like with those times.
00:06:17
Speaker
where I'm also a big snacker, you know what I mean? Oh, heck yeah. That's fair. That's fair. What do you get in your pantry? What is something a good tea that's really good? That's the problem is I try not to choose. I try not to choose snacks. Usually Emily chooses the snacks. The problem is just whatever she gets, I'll eat.
00:06:39
Speaker
That's awesome, not picky. Respect. I'm not picky. I like the harvest naps though because they're like healthy, but they don't, they taste just kind of like chips and there's different flavors like a tomato basil and a sea salt. Of course you said tomato basil. A mango chili lime one is really good. That sounds good. And they're like the healthy snack, I guess you would say, but they're really good.
00:07:05
Speaker
But because they're a healthy snack, they're expensive. It's like $2 for like a little bag of bull crap. Yep. Let me get you, uh, with this on the podcast today, you can find him eating a New York slice at Rambo circle. We have Andrew with us on podcasting.
00:07:26
Speaker
What's your favorite New York pizza spot, Andrew? It is called Danny's and it is in Queens, New York, which is about 30 minutes from me. Danny, Dan, Dan. So this is my problem with pizza joints.
00:07:42
Speaker
maybe here, maybe everywhere. I feel that a lot of people don't try to differentiate themselves with their sauces. For me, some people don't care about sauce. I can eat light sauce, I can eat heavy sauce, I don't care. But I feel like that's going to be the distinguishing factor between pizza and every sauce is just savory and the same. Danny's has a sweet sauce.
00:08:06
Speaker
And I I love me a sweet sauce. So I respect them for actually doing something different. Now, a big thing they do is you can get a a slice of cheese with extra sauce. But how they do it is they make the normal slice. You have your cheese pizza. They layer the sauce on top of the cheese. Nice. Yeah, like that. Dude, all that pizza. So when it comes to another year, a New York and a New York.
00:08:37
Speaker
When someone says an authentic New York slice of pizza, what are we looking at? Good question. That's a good question. Are we looking at, is it soggy? Is it not soggy? Is it firm? Is it greasy? Or is it just... Is it a wood fire? No, no, no, no, no. It's large, thin, and floppy. Large, thin, and floppy. Except, no, minus the large part.
00:09:10
Speaker
It's it's it's it's it's it's gotta be like foldable like that's when you know You've got like a good, New York slice is like it's foldable. You know I'm saying so You don't want to crunch
00:09:23
Speaker
Only on the crust. My wife and I have actually discovered living in Connecticut and now New York is we actually prefer Connecticut pizza over New York. Which was the most mind blowing thing ever. Those are fighting words. Yeah. They have charred bottom, dude.
00:09:41
Speaker
I love charred food, dude. Oh, my God. That crunchy thin crust. Daddy, please. Yeah. Anyway, my perfect my perfect pizza is a place called Izzy's. And it says Izzy's New York is what it's called. New York pizza place. Hold on. Is that in low burn? Um, kind of. Yeah.
00:10:07
Speaker
I've had their pizza before. We lived right beside it and then we moved and now we're like we're still only like 10 minutes away from it. Yeah. I tried to stuff like last year actually. I really liked it. I just hate that I'm already hungry. We're talking about food.
00:10:24
Speaker
So it says it's a New York place. The slices are very large. Yes, they are. Okay. But they're perfect for me because I don't like a greasy floppy pizza. I don't like it when you pull it out of the box and you hold it, then everything just falls off.
00:10:38
Speaker
Yeah. I mean, that's annoying. You grab it and then when you grab it, you just have a handful of grease. So it's like the perfect amount of grease and the perfect amount of, it's floopy, but it's not floppy. You know, it dips. It folds. Does it fold? That's the thing. You can fold it. You can fold it if you want. I'm not a folder, but all the power to you if you're a folder, but because I'm not a folder, I don't like to lift up like a piece of pizza out and it just be like where you have to fold it just to keep everything in. You know what I mean?
00:11:09
Speaker
Also with us on the podcast today, you can find them. North of me. Yep. To North, North West. True North.

Destiny Gameplay and Community

00:11:20
Speaker
I don't know. At, at number, I'm sorry. At raffle. On my freaking waffles. Carlos. What's up? Yeah. Spank that fairy.
00:11:34
Speaker
There's a vape store near Izzy's in Lil Burn, but it's called Lil Burn. Yep, I have seen that. It's a great name. Yep. Carlos, what's going on? You know, life things, video games, Destiny has not only found its way back into my life, but I've spread it back to all of you. Whoa, whoa, whoa. What do you mean, find its way back into your life? You never dropped off.
00:12:02
Speaker
Well, I was playing Baldur's Gate last year. Yeah, you're the only consistent. I was playing Baldur's Gate, but yeah, I I have been playing that game in my lonesome all season until recently, so. But now just going hard into it, you know, now I'm playing Warlock and I'm playing Titan and I'm getting them all up to speed and I'm I'm enjoying doing builds again.
00:12:26
Speaker
Other than that, Helldivers have been squashing bugs out there, spreading some managed democracy. Manage it. That's right. And that's been a lot of fun too. And reading, actually. I've been getting into doing a lot of reading with the wife. And it's been, she's going to hear this and be like,
00:12:51
Speaker
Screw those guys. My wife reads. My wife listens to audiobooks. Yes. It's been really nice. So we've been reading together. I've been reading on my lunch breaks at work. So you guys take turns reading a chapter to each other? No, no. She reads her book and I read my book and we just cuddle and have quiet reading sessions.
00:13:12
Speaker
It's it's been really nice because I've been wanting to finish this book and it's been like six years. I had to start over and this is like a 700 page, the most complex book I've ever read in my life. But like it's good. It's good. So, yeah, that's what's been going on. Oh, also, I've been looking, been trying to get into bonsai. So I bought a book. I've been doing a lot of research. I've never known. I've always wanted to.
00:13:40
Speaker
I do terrariums already. I got one over here. I just finished. I'm starting another one probably this weekend. Um, but bones eyes have been really just, they're beautiful. And I, we went to the botanical gardens and they had a showcase there and they had the Atlanta bones eye society and they gave us. Well, that's bullcrap because we, the last time we went, which is the only time we ever gotten gone, the,
00:14:06
Speaker
That bonsai place was closed for some reason like a private event or something. So I have yet to see it Yeah, it was it was the event and we went and we saw a lot of beautiful trees and I got a lot of info and it's Yeah, and I stole one and they're selling them. They do sell them
00:14:28
Speaker
Did they say my wife loves to go to pikes here? Oh yeah. I love pike. They always have a, she has it. She loves pikes so much that when we go, she has a dance that she'll do. We call it the pike dance. The pike dance. Huh? They know her by name.
00:14:47
Speaker
Yeah, like she has to do the pipe dance before she checks out. There's a yeah, we bought her Japanese emote for discount emote. Oh, well, this is the Log on Games podcast, a weekly show in which I discuss a variety of gaming news topics from new games, big announcements, events and more. New episodes uploaded every Friday. Wherever you listen to your podcast at, you can watch that YouTube dot com slash.
00:15:18
Speaker
at logon games, gonna try and get a stream going within either next week or the week after. And I know I've said that before, is this time, is it gonna be true? No one knows. Guess we'll have to find out.
00:15:35
Speaker
But nothing will change other than we will be recording the podcast and streaming it as we record it. Um, so it normally happens around five or five 30. So follow us at log on games on any social media platforms. Uh, I'll put it in our stories. I'll tweet it out, all that kind of stuff. Whenever we know for sure what's happening. And then we'll also do it probably on an hour or 30 minutes, something that prior to when we.
00:16:00
Speaker
actually stream it so you can watch it on YouTube or Twitch or wherever it is that you want to watch it at. Oh, okay. We've been talking about Destiny a little bit. Just a little bit.
00:16:16
Speaker
I was supposed to raid with you guys, but then I didn't. Because on Sunday, I thought it was Saturday. And then Monday, I thought it was Sunday. This is coming from a guy who said every day is a weekend.
00:16:36
Speaker
I base it off when my wife has her off days. So if she has to work a wedding on Sunday, then she's off Monday and Tuesday. If she doesn't have to work a wedding on Sunday, then she's off Sunday and Monday.
00:16:50
Speaker
but this weekend was different because i worked a wedding with her on saturday but she so she was off sunday but she did have to go on monday so it was a weird week it was schedules and meetings stuff like that so because weird i was like when she wasn't there i was like all right well she's off so or she's working so much she must be working a wedding so it must be sunday and then she was off
00:17:17
Speaker
On I don't know whatever the day it was either way. I thought Monday was Tuesday Tuesday Your systems funny Because obviously it has its back draws instead of like just looking at your phone and the the date on your phone tells you what it does tell me I don't ever look at a day. I look at the time like your your lock screen doesn't just tell you like the date and
00:17:48
Speaker
Yes, it does. Alright, so if you ever want to raid, I'll send you a reminder. Yeah, we're still down. I, you know, and plus like things that go as planned my fault because I didn't, I was thinking the wrong encounter, but
00:18:10
Speaker
I think it was still fun. We had some improv fun. I want to do more stuff. We were just doing DPS checks. Yeah. Different stuff. Yeah. It was cool. Yeah. I mean, I do. I know me and Andrew talked about it in our Destiny podcast, but I do want to do every raid from front to back as God intended. Hit us up, man. Before the final shape comes out. And I know I have other people that want to do it too.
00:18:34
Speaker
But in the near future, I do want to do all the I want to do the master challenges of all two class because I'm trying to get that back. You know what I mean? Dude, I had to do that for the title. That was a mess. Yeah, I've done all of them. I tried doing some random people yesterday, but it was just.
00:18:56
Speaker
You know, sometimes you have to rotate. Everyone has to rotate constantly. See those parts. I am. I have the catalyst and everything. So I was like, oh, but you're just doing all the challenges. That's different from. Yeah, I just want to do the challenges because it'll give you a boost and a vex boost or whatever. I wonder what the percentage is for that. Like every.
00:19:18
Speaker
increased i'm sure we can find out to be honest i was just doing the uh final boss until it dropped just farming that not farming but like you know every week i would do that at least once that's what that's what i've been doing 77 that's what i've been doing i do it with uh because i'm trying to get a freaking commemoration too which isn't even an exotic but it only drops for the on the boss yeah yeah yeah so i'm just like doing bosses every week but then this week was like the master
00:19:48
Speaker
Alright, so while you're looking that up there's been a little bit of controversy from the last stream Where they were talking about all the weapons that were coming with this new update and a lot of people are upset because a lot of those weapons are time gated. Did you see that? I thought some of them were right like this like Yeah, and they I don't
00:20:12
Speaker
i don't think it's a big deal but it's like oh you have to wait till this week to get this one and this week to get this one and a lot of people are like just give me it all now and i'm just like is it really that big a deal but i know that's like that could be strategic on bungee side to keep the the player count up because it's like oh we have to make sure we log in this week and this week and this week and this week to get the weapons
00:20:36
Speaker
I feel like they're already going to get the engagement from Into the Light, everything that they showed off with the new player space.
00:20:50
Speaker
I agree with you. Personally, for me, I'm fine with whatever it gives me something to do to aim for for that week to get the role I want. But at the same time, it's like I'm already just going to be balls deep doing onslaught because that just sounds exciting. Let's do the hardest possible run and try to get all the way through. I could play that. That could hold me over that and just rotating whatever dungeons. That'll get me through until final

Destiny Updates and Future Plans

00:21:17
Speaker
shape. I feel like especially
00:21:20
Speaker
That along with, you know, some of the well, the past couple of weeks, I feel there's enough stuff going on in Destiny that like you should be OK.
00:21:32
Speaker
So there's a difference to me between time gating and price gating it, you know what I'm saying? Like, oh, you can get half of these new weapons now, but the other half come with the next expansion. That would be a whole different story. And that sounds like a bungee playbook thing right there. Yeah, but you're going to throw a fit because you have to log in once a week to get the new weapon. I'm like, really? I think the fit throwing is from not necessarily the hardcore people.
00:21:59
Speaker
Yeah, yeah for the people that play destiny and maybe on all the expansions or maybe on a couple of them Yeah, and they're like they're not the people that are buying the season pass and doing the seasonal. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, it's like Everything in destiny. I mean not everything but a lot is time gated like every seems like okay There's a new mission every week or whatever. So like when I saw that I was like, okay, that's like I don't it didn't bother me at all and I was like and the thing that
00:22:27
Speaker
bothered some hardcore fans like why are they putting raid weapons in here I know I was like who cares you already have them so does it matter that's what I'm saying we've been using these weapons for years and we're gonna throw a fit that like randos can now just get it without doing the raid like I'm just like everything about into the light
00:22:48
Speaker
is good for the game in my opinion. It's good for the game, it's good for player attention, it's good for getting new people in because they don't have to pay and it's all free. It's good for us because like me personally, like I have friends that have played Destiny but then they don't play hardcore so they stop after they've hit the expansion and they'll do some other stuff or whatever and then they'll stop and then they have people that are coming back
00:23:14
Speaker
from who knows when. Like last week on the podcast, Matthew's like, well, that makes me want to play. First of all, I doubt he's going to play. But if he does, let's be honest here, this is not the kind of person we want doing hard content like the Final Shape campaign on Legendary because he has no builds. He doesn't understand stats and he has no meta weapons. But because of Intidolite,
00:23:36
Speaker
If he plays it like with us here and there, whatever, by the time the final shape comes out, he'll have a decent stat rolled armor, at least 100 resilience. And he'll have meta weapons going into the final shape. So we won't bring down everybody else when we start playing the final shape. So it's good for everybody. Carlos and I have definitely been in the route of trying to set up a new player and telling them where to go and what to do and what to focus on and all that stuff.
00:24:05
Speaker
Yeah. Yeah. They did it a lot when the Witch Queen came out. Yeah, he's, uh, Carlos has been in the trenches with that way more than I have, so. Yeah. And the thing is, it's, I enjoy, I love teaching already. So I like, I love sitting there and like, everybody from us did that for me, you know, he, he, and then especially you, like you definitely, I think are like the reason why I got glued to the game as much as I did. Cause like,
00:24:31
Speaker
You're you know, you're fun to play with and you're very helpful, you know, but like that it's it's still not fair to for the person who's just like completely lost because Things aren't gonna make sense for a while and I think like I of the way I kind of approach it
00:24:47
Speaker
It was the same way from us kind of approach it. We're just like, hey, like, don't worry about these things for now. Kind of focus on these and we'll work our way to stats and stuff. And it's and then at the end of the day, the story is still a whole nother segment. That's like, I can't explain it to you. Here's a four hour video. Here's an additional video from this this content. You know, yeah, that's how it wasn't when The Witchwing became free on PS Plus, whatever month it was.
00:25:16
Speaker
two summers ago or something like that when I had two or three like new players and then one old player come in and join. It was like, we're focusing on this icon.
00:25:25
Speaker
Cause they hadn't like, they had all those expansions for free or whatever. It was just like, we're focusing on this icon. Don't worry about anything else, but we're just playing. And when that icon is completely wiped out, we're going to go to this and everything that says, other than that, like, so like basically the first two months is just playing the game. Who cares what drops? It doesn't matter. And unfortunately, you know, like, and you know, like.
00:25:50
Speaker
Andrew knows I put a lot of time into getting people into the game who will raid or get freaking, you know, the exotic weapon and then just drop off and then they're done. They don't want to play. And it's like, yeah, it sucks. I don't regret the time because that's a potential person that could have been in my situation where I'm almost three thousand hours in the game now. You know, you might find that person.
00:26:14
Speaker
Yeah. So but then and then they come back for like into the light and it's like, all right, they already have somewhat of an idea of how it goes. Yeah. But it's super easy now to just catch up to a decent power level and then get weapons that aren't going to be. It's like if we have a DPS check and mission to the final shape on legendary, they're not going to be completely useless now. Yeah. They'll have some weapons I can. Yeah, one might say we're unicorn hunting and destiny.
00:26:47
Speaker
Oh, I have info on the rain exotic drops kind of. And by info, I mean not really anything. This is from Reddit. So apparently what it used to be, which is not in the game anymore, was like it was a five percent chance for the exotic drop. Every time you completed it, it would go up two percent or whatever. But that system isn't in the game anymore. So the only thing that destiny themselves have
00:27:14
Speaker
is numbers that say plus one plus two or plus three for different challenges. No one knows what percentage that means. So there's not a percentage that we absolutely know. So first of all, you said before it was a 5% chance.
00:27:29
Speaker
That's, I'm just reading what this person said. Cause that's definitely BS. A 5% chance. It's like having a D 20. You have a 5% chance to land on a nat 20. So you can roll. There's no way that like Andrew here rolls 77 times and didn't get a 20 at least. Well, this was from this, what they said when beyond light launched.
00:27:49
Speaker
they implemented the system that was 5% and then every clear gave you 2% extra or whatever. But then that system no longer exists anymore. So now they have the challenges and stuff. It's whatever the drop rate is. And then if you do one of the challenges, I guess you get plus one plus three or something. I don't know. Let's see how many rolls it takes for me to get a 20. I'm just going to roll. You guys can keep talking. I'm going to have it in the background.
00:28:18
Speaker
So whatever plus, I don't know how many challenges there are for these things, but whatever plus one means, I'm sure there's a percentage of what it actually drops out. Say it's at like 2% or something.
00:28:30
Speaker
And then every challenge gives you a percentage where they don't call it a percentage. So the key, Andrew, I have figured out in my experience with the game is what you need to do is erase your character, make a new character. And when you're a first timer going there, you have a 50% chance of it drop. So that was 20, 20 rolls got me a 20, which is exactly 5%. There it is. They did it. Wow.
00:28:57
Speaker
But I mean, that's not what it is now or maybe I don't, we just don't know anything other than whatever a plus one. They've got something in their system that we don't know the algorithm for it. Have either of y'all not gotten a drop and then done some of the challenges and then gotten a drop? I've never tried any of that. I never tried. We should try it together. Be like me. You stop caring and then it'll drop.
00:29:24
Speaker
I've never had any of them drop. Not in D2. Really? Only in D1. Well, in his defense though, he doesn't raid that much. You get what I'm saying? But when the newer raids have dropped, like when Volta Glass first dropped, I did do that bot. I mean, I've probably completed that raid 15 times. I've probably completed whatever the newest one was.
00:29:52
Speaker
I probably completed that one 15 times. I probably completed. Sounds like you should have played five more times and you could have gotten it. I should say every raid I've done five to 10 times are the ones that have actually played or five to 15 times the one I've actually played. And then like with all the glass, I've probably beaten the boss 30 times, but. So like what of all the raids, like what is the exotic that you want the most? Is it Vex? Uh,
00:30:18
Speaker
Yes and no. It's, it's one of my favorite weapons just from a personal standpoint. So yes, and that's the one that I want selfishly the most. Like back in the day, I was doing nothing but playing with Soros regime and VEX. That was it. It was a good old time. I have Soros. I still don't have the catalyst because, um, I have to play PvP in order for that to drop.
00:30:44
Speaker
That's gross. And I hate it with a passion. But I do want that.
00:30:51
Speaker
I'd like to welcome everyone to the Guardian Games podcast, your weekly podcast, where we talk about destiny. And what the drop rates are for the drop rates. Yeah, dude, you know, I need to get the found verdict. I want a good roll on that. So, you know, I'm down to do it again. And I'm also down to try more DPS checks, because I this is like, oh, man, now I get to just make build and see how high can I get my DPS?
00:31:21
Speaker
Why not? Why does Cross and all these other Destiny players get to do that for fun? And we're all serious reading all of it. Let's have fun. It's because of the people we raid with, Carlos. So yesterday I tried to do a Vault of Glass master doing all the challenges with a random group.
00:31:41
Speaker
But the reason that it's so hard is because there's six people, which always, 90% of the time means one person is either too terrible to do it or too toxic to do it with. And I just happened to be in the moment when this one guy was too toxic. He talked so much. He's one person and like, listen, 90% of the words out of the chat are going to come from this guy.
00:32:04
Speaker
He's going to be the one that's doing it. I've been playing since the beta. Exactly. And he's just talking about random gun rolls that he got and how good this gun used to be three years ago and stuff. Like, dude, can we just play the raid, please? Yeah. And then he talks about how easy the challenge is. He's like, oh man, this challenge is easy. And then he got the point where we kept wiping. He's like, I'm just going to solo.
00:32:27
Speaker
all the wyverns or whatever, which was like the first time. It's like, don't even worry about it, just tell me where they spot. And then we wipe like 20 more times and then he just goes into how terrible the game is, how terrible the developers are, and then into how he can fix the game. I'll show you, I'll tell you how to fix it. Now she's like, I can't do this anymore.
00:32:46
Speaker
Well, I guess we've like 50 times this guy's ridiculous. At least he's not dumping over his fire team. He's like, you guys are garbage. You know, it could be it could be that bad. It went straight from this is super easy. It's going to take us no time to I'll just solo the hard part. It's easy. I do it all the time. This game is trash. I don't know why Bunch even makes this game. They should just all go die to.
00:33:11
Speaker
I'll tell you how I can make the game better and how the game used to be better. It's like it's like he's going through the stages of like, you know, like he literally played with the lit me solo her of Destiny. Respect it. And then I left. I was like, it's not worth it.
00:33:27
Speaker
It's not worth putting in more than an hour and a half into this. But regardless of what we're saying, uh, destiny is exciting again. I'm just exciting. It's fun times. It is. I mean, like, dude, I mean, even though I was playing by myself for like the last four or five, six months, crying every week when he logged in.
00:33:45
Speaker
No, I've been enjoying it. I've got to build out the wazoo. I've really enjoyed running coil and, you know, just doing weekly activities. It's like I actually actually did have a good time. So and I'm excited now that people are starting to get back into it. I bet. I told my wife that I was like, you know, Carlos is at home like, yes, they're back. Yeah. Like I'm not alone.
00:34:10
Speaker
I've put out the beacon, I've assembled the Avengers, at least a couple of them. Yeah. There are several who've yet to answer the call from the raid team, but it is what it is. Now, you're saying you want to play Avengers, don't you want to do? I mean, it's basically just Destiny Marvel, you know? The servers are dead now, right? It's gone, right? Is it? I think so. That was a good transition. They shut it down. I heard you. I didn't mean to. No, they did. Yeah.
00:34:41
Speaker
Forbes.com, Marvel 6v6 Overwatch-style shooter is coming. While Hero Shooter may be somewhat shaky grounds in terms of new entries these days, what if the heroes were really, really well known? It appears that's the idea behind the reportedly in-development Marvel game that will allegedly be a 6v6 Hero-style shooter, albeit in third person, not first person. It seems like this was written before the trailer, maybe?
00:35:10
Speaker
Possibly, what's the date? 26. 26. Yeah, this was before. Yep. Okay, let me find something better.
00:35:20
Speaker
What's funny is the guy that wrote the article is a huge Destiny player. So the one straight from Paul Tassie. Oh, this is Paul Tassie. Yep. Oh, OK. So NetEase Games is excited to collaborate with Marvel Games to deliver a thrilling fast paced cooperative gameplay experience and featuring all of your favorite superheroes.

Marvel 6v6 Hero Shooter Announcement

00:35:40
Speaker
All your favorite. Ethan Wong, senior vice president NetEase, Inc. The partnership with Marvel Games continues to. OK, yeah, it's great.
00:35:47
Speaker
Marvel Rivals is one of our most ambitious game development projects. So it's a conceptualization of the game and throughout our collaboration. Our Marvel team has poured our hearts and soul. OK, tell us about the game. I can tell you about the game. Tell us about the game. So it's a it's a it's a hero shooter, right? And it's going to be 6v6 and it's going to be third person instead of first person. So what that means is
00:36:14
Speaker
Getting cosmetics is going to be super important because you can actually see them on your character. It's nice. And like I was joking about earlier, you can't Hulk smash because you're in the middle of a cool down. You know what I'm saying? What's up? I'm so OK. And because and a good thing you should bring that. So it's a hero shooter. But what is the Hulk shooting?
00:36:34
Speaker
I don't think it's I don't think it's technically a hero shooter. I think it's just I guess it says it says NetEase and Marvel are excited to announce their latest collaboration Marvel Rivals a cooperative superhero team-based PvP shooter
00:36:51
Speaker
shooter see it's in the it's in the description so everybody he's the he's the Reinhardt of uh the game yeah but Reinhardt has a gun listen in this picture this is from does he only use the hammer the hammer but it's got range so it shoots something
00:37:10
Speaker
There he does. Yeah, maybe he throws rocks. So Hulk can do this and Gus the wind can shoot out. Yeah. From Marvel dot com, which I just put in our chat where they announced this game. They have a artwork on here that has the Hulk shooting a green beam out of his hands.
00:37:28
Speaker
He's got super powers now. He's shooting a green beam and a green beam, a green beam. Oh, maybe he's Iron Man and an Iron Man's shooting it. Oh, he's probably like drinking surge and burping really hard or something. So the other cool thing is, did you guys see the, you can do like co-op attacks where you and another person like team up to do it? Do your signature wrestling move. That's pretty cool. So like, I think they had like what? Rocket and Groot. That's pretty cool. Of course, classic.
00:37:58
Speaker
classic one looks like we're gonna have hulk and iron man, you know team up but So there's there's one thing that makes me sad Is they didn't announce it for console? Yep, I heard about which people are saying that means that it's not coming in console. It's not true Exactly going down But
00:38:21
Speaker
In the interview with the developer guy or whatever, he said they're exploring other options, which to me means it's going to come to console soon. It'll come to PC first and honestly, probably come to mobile second, if not the same time it comes to PC. So for me, in order for this to succeed, it has to be free to play. It is free to play. It's free. Oh, it is. Okay. That's confirmed. Okay. Um, but I can't tell based off what we've seen because it, it, to me, it looks like a mixture of like a, uh,
00:38:51
Speaker
like a MOBA and Overwatch. Like it's kind of in between where it's like, it's not as fast paced as Overwatch is. It's kind of got that slower MOBA vibe to it. Oh, I was going to ask what you meant by MOBA. So you're just talking about movement.
00:39:04
Speaker
Yeah, just like movement and artwork, I would say, too, is kind of in the same realm. Because we all have we have waifu Galactus now, if you've seen the trailer. Yeah, yeah. I'm going to say, honestly, besides the Insomniac games that including Wolverine, this is the only Marvel game to come out that actually like I'll actually try like I want it to be. I'm very desperately want this to be good.
00:39:33
Speaker
Like, and I wanted to come to console. That's what I want. My favorite Gundam, not Gundam, my favorite Overwatch game was the Gundam one that came out that I think is dead now. It is dead now.
00:39:44
Speaker
I had a blast on that rip, but I just can't tell if it's going to be fun to play for more than a weekend. That's fair. That's which it might be. But like the way that they showed off the game, like it is very slower movement. We're just like, it's just fine for me. Like I've played Spider-Man look cool in there. I played paladins a lot when I was on tour because I was basically before Overwatch came to switch, it was like Overwatch on switch. It wasn't even much paladin.
00:40:10
Speaker
And it was very slow movement based stuff like that. And I had a fun old time with that game. But, you know, is this because it's Marvel, it's a big IP. Like, is this a cash grab? Is this something that's going to be irrelevant a month and a half after it's come out? I don't know. I hope it's good. I want it to be good. It looks cool.
00:40:30
Speaker
There's a podcast I was listening to today and they actually brought up a good point and they feel that this is actually good timing because of how lit down people were with Overwatch 2, that they're looking for another game in that realm that could be better. Something to scratch that in. Yeah, it could be good timing, honestly.
00:40:52
Speaker
I hope so. So they're doing a PC alpha in May sometime. So there's no release date for that. So, I mean, I mean, this game might not could possibly not even come out until next year. Like we've seen alphas happen or betas or whatever. And then the game not released forever. So there's a PC alpha in May. You would hope that this is a fall release of some swords, but we don't know. Or maybe it's free to play. So maybe they'll like just come out in early access.
00:41:23
Speaker
Well, if it comes on early access, then wouldn't that mean it would take longer for it to come out on consoles? That is true. But until they say like, yeah, we're making this game for PS5. Did the, uh, did the Avengers game, uh, was that in early access or did that street release? No, it's not released. Yeah, that was like triple, triple A. Was it triple A, double A, whatever. Yeah. There were some betas, but, um, it fully released.
00:41:53
Speaker
Mm hmm. I hope it's good. I want to be I want it to be good because I love hero shooters, especially free to play ones. And I want to be Spidey and flip flapping all over some hoes. You know what I mean? Dude, I tell you what, that friggin the key art for the game looks so sick. Like who I don't I need to find out who the artist is for that. Like it's so wicked.
00:42:16
Speaker
So wicked. It's going to be cool. I mean, what we saw from the trailer, I know they're like, well, we have destructible environments. It's like, OK, well, yeah, I don't like that. We all know that that doesn't make a good game. I did like finals. Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow. I can't believe. Listen, I'm going to be honest with you right now. I know nothing about if the finals is is being successful right now or not. It's fun. So I'm just going to look. Oh, where is it at on Steam? I'm like, I'm looking on Twitter right now to see how many people are streaming.
00:42:46
Speaker
It's Marvel, baby. Let's see. I'm looking. Let's see, I'm looking on the steam charts. Where does the finals ring? Looking at Twitch and I'm either missing it or it's really low. The finals is 27 on Steam right now with it dropped down a little bit, but it is sitting
00:43:20
Speaker
I mean, it's a dead game. That's what I think. The finals right now on Twitch is at 3.5,000 viewers. Of course, it's a 645 on a Thursday night, but the finals, 3.5K viewers. Put that in perspective, Suicide Squad, Kill the Justice League is at 4K. Oh, wow. Hunt Showdown's at 4.4. Oh, these are three fighter sixes at five.
00:43:48
Speaker
Red Dead Redemption 2 is at 5.7, Tekken 8 is at 6.3. The finals is 41 right now for player count, sitting at 25,000. What's it around? What other games are like above it? Above it, we have Farming Simulator 22. Nice. And one below it, we have
00:44:17
Speaker
Balatro, it's a card game of some sort. It's just no, it's like, yeah, it's just a card game, like a deck playing as a poker. That's a weird looking game. Yeah, Gary's mod right below it, Red Dead 2 right below it. So this is pretty, pretty far down. I mean, that doesn't necessarily mean that it's not being successful, but when it comes to like any time a free to play competitive shooter game comes out, like
00:44:44
Speaker
Like Overwatch 2 right now is 54.7,000. Like compared to finals is insane. Destiny 2 is at net number 26 on player count right now. People still playing it. People still playing DZ. Wow. That's a number 23.
00:45:04
Speaker
Yeah, so it's just like a game like this. Is it going to be a finals game or like final? There's there are people that liked it. I'm not one of them, but there are people like especially like, do you really like it? No, I was not a fan. I don't like verticality in my PvP shooters, if that makes sense. Like going like tall buildings and zip lining everywhere and.
00:45:28
Speaker
Not necessarily that, like going, just going, being able to go from ground floor to ceiling quickly. If that makes sense. Like there was that other game, I don't remember if it was Ubisoft or like Square Enix or whatever. They did their free to play shooter and that was like the main point was just like.
00:45:44
Speaker
You can shoot up and there's people fighting on rooftops, fighting in midair, like bouncing on all these things. And the finals is a lot like that too. It's like you can, you can zip up to the roof and then you can destroy this building. And there's a lot of up and down fighting rather than it being like a mask. I feel like we're about to hurt my feelings. That means you didn't like Titanfall.
00:46:05
Speaker
I mean, I like the campaign. I love Titanfall, man. First of all, you get two really awesome, like, mechanics. Guardians are disbanding. You get the mech mechanic, which, thank you, love mechs. And then you get the on foot mechanic where you're like wall running. Dude, the wall running was so cool. Yeah, that's one thing I wish they would have brought to Apex. Like, that's the one thing that I really loved about Titanfall, that Apex thing.
00:46:33
Speaker
The mobility was so cool. It was insane. Apex, I like I like Titanfall as well, but it's different with Titans because like Titanfall because you can like be a Titan and just like wreak havoc. I'm fine with the movement being super fast. It's just like. People going vertical and like fighting in the air and then you just don't like crack fighting. I like a big map and being able to look around corners
00:47:02
Speaker
You know, I can bust through a couple places, but play a little bit more strategically instead of flying off the, you know, that's fair. If you're saying it like that, even like building and build mode in Fortnite is kind of like that now, where it's just like someone shoots you and then all of a sudden there's this giant thing that's built and now you're all fighting up and down. That's just like.
00:47:24
Speaker
It's funny, and I think it's a unpopular opinion, but I didn't like the building in Fortnite. I think it took away from the actual Battle Royale. You're just against all these people. And then that's a whole other skill you have to get good at. And you got these people that are having build-offs battles. Build-offs. You just see these like... Yeah. And they're shooting each other and building and it's like, what in the world?
00:47:49
Speaker
The only time I had interest is when they had that no build mode, which I still got it, man. But yeah, it's no build modes. Great. I prefer that.
00:47:58
Speaker
Um, I think the people that do like the finals or like it's high skilled people, like e-sports level, high skill things. It is very fast, which reaction is shooting where you have to like be able to like sweep shoot and keep running through. And there's chaos everywhere. And yeah, but that's also why it's so far down the list and why it's going to be a dead game sooner or later, because it makes it so hard for free to play shooters. Just like you have to.
00:48:28
Speaker
own the casual audience as well as own the high skill audience. And you have to do both to be successful. Whereas the finals is like, I think a lot of these e-sports.
00:48:39
Speaker
Apex Call of Duty people that are like very high skill. They love What's this is very difficult thing to do but I can master it and then so you have all these high school players But the masses are like I don't want any part of that. Mm-hmm Yeah, I just want to just chill and play with my homies I'm not trying to sweat, you know, I get that I'm that way most of the time or at least like be able to understand what's happening Yeah, where did I die from? I don't know could have been
00:49:05
Speaker
You got this dude doing backflips and zip lining and then kill cams. But if you're playing something where it's like, yeah, there's a kill cam. They killed me from around this corner behind me. I just didn't see them. That's fine. But when they're like, oh, look, they shot up in the air, put their goo thing down, slid down, turned around and shot me. It's just like, okay, well, I'm, or if you're important, it's like when they built this massive thing and then they built a wall over here, but they were really over here. It's like, yeah, I want to see, I want us both to see each other.
00:49:36
Speaker
but I'm just better than you. You know, that's what I want to play. Yeah. You know, like that way I can scream. I'm better than you.
00:49:43
Speaker
like halo to, you know, you got to get this four BR shots down. You got to be the first one to do it. And if you can't, you know, like that's your, your one V wanting and you're having this, like, you know, slot, maybe there's nothing, there's nothing like SWAT SWAT. All right. Um, last thing of the day, kind of maybe, uh, Phil Spencer had an interview, uh, has been making the rounds.
00:50:11
Speaker
And I'm just gonna do some blurbs

Phil Spencer on Steam and Epic on Xbox

00:50:13
Speaker
here. I'm reading this from Polygon, but I'm just gonna say some of the blurbs that he said in this. He says, our history as the Windows company, nobody would blink twice if I said, hey, when you're using a PC, you get to decide the type of experience you have by clicking where to buy games. There's value in that. Phil Spencer believes console players would benefit from that freedom too.
00:50:40
Speaker
and so would console makers like Microsoft. Spencer explained how in the past console makers would typically subsidize the cost of expensive hardware knowing that a portion of every dollar spent on games for the platform over the years would eventually
00:50:52
Speaker
make it back to the console maker. Then in time, the console maker would recoup the subsidy and hopefully more. Spencer said Moore's law has slowed down. The price of components of a console aren't coming down as fast as they would have in previous generations, whereas he explained the console market isn't growing with more gamers moving to PC and handheld options. I don't think numbers came out that basically said that wasn't true, but whatever.
00:51:21
Speaker
Now the notion of subsidizing a console and forcing players to purchase games through the official storefront to help recoup costs might not make sense. The walls meant to lock people into consoles might be motivated them staying out.
00:51:37
Speaker
Spencer said, and I will quote, and I will say, and this may seem too altruistic. I don't know that it's growth in the industry. So I think there are, what are the barriers? What are the things that create friction in today's world for creators and players? And how can we be a part of opening up that model?
00:51:55
Speaker
So essentially he kind of teased the fact that he's open to the Steam store, Epic store, whatever other stores may be coming to Xbox in the future if that's possible. You know what I feel like I get out of this is it's desperation from an Xbox perspective. They're trying to find a way to keep the console alive. While I do get where they're coming from,
00:52:19
Speaker
It doesn't seem like Nintendo or Sony has this problem. It's Xbox. And, you know, and I kind of talked about this like many years ago with some friends where I was like the future of console gaming, especially when Microsoft announced that they were going to have, you know, the
00:52:41
Speaker
the game store and start creating games that would release both on PC and Xbox and they started really tying those together. I'm like, I said, either Xbox is going to become more like a PC. It's essentially going to be a PC with PC components like
00:52:59
Speaker
almost pretty much that, or they're going to phase it and go straight to just being a PC thing. I think here, they're at that break point now where it's like, how viable is it when the PC market is so strong? Do we just build these more PC compatible type
00:53:18
Speaker
Steam boxes, essentially. Or do we say goodbye to our consoles and like pivot somewhere? We've bought all these game development companies, you know, it feels like they're just making a lot of weird decisions, throwing things at the wall to see what sticks. And this is another one of those ideas where it's like maybe this, you know, and I think they're trying to speak for the rest of the consoles, but I don't think the other consoles have that problem.
00:53:46
Speaker
No, they don't. But I mean, and also what? How much work would it take to get the steam? I couldn't imagine. Yeah, not only that, but like that's what was going on in my mind when you guys were just that kind of integration. How is the workshop going to work? How is modding going to work for games that support it? How's early and a lot of PlayStation games come to steam and their PlayStation is not going to let those be played on Xbox.
00:54:12
Speaker
And not only that, but Steam has a lot of indie developers like they're going to have to make it work where the Xbox as a hardware unit is going to have to run some sort of emulation to be able to play these games because a lot of indie devs, they're not going to be able to develop for both PC and a console, you know, that they have small staff, a lot of these, you know, companies. So.
00:54:34
Speaker
I mean, you can make the next Xbox similar to the Steam Deck where it's like, yeah, it runs Xbox, but you can also finagle it to run other stores. Like remember, I say remember, like when the Wii U came out, if you wanted to play Wii games, it took you to the whole other storefront. Like you would click Wii and it would take you basically to
00:54:56
Speaker
the Wii and how it ran. And if you want to play Wii U, it took you to the whole other thing. Yeah, but I guess they could do that, but it seems like a lot of work for a $500 console. Yeah, yeah. So I don't know. I don't know, man. I mean, in theory, it would be great.
00:55:14
Speaker
Yeah, and I'm not exactly either. The next Xbox comes out and they're like, you can, your Epic and Steam libraries are here and you can buy games from the Epic and Steam store and play them on Xbox. Like that would be a big deal. Yeah, for sure. For sure. And that's, that's one thing. And that is, that would be cool where it's like, Oh, I have this game. I'm playing it on my console, but let me go now log in and I don't have to buy it again because I have it in these things are interconnected through my Steam or Epic.

Food Preferences and Podcast Idea

00:55:39
Speaker
So now I can go download and play there. I think that is a good, like,
00:55:42
Speaker
ultimate dream for people that don't want to pay 1500 plus dollars for a gaming PC and just have a console. But it does seem like there's just a lot of problems that they need to figure out how to solve before they can go forward with that. I concur. Andrew, Carlos, any final thoughts for me in this podcast now? What y'all having for dinner? What are you having for dinner?
00:56:11
Speaker
Andrew. Oh, my wife. My wife is on. Not because of my complexion, but I'm having Indian food.
00:56:21
Speaker
I'll tell you a little backstory on that. So like my entire life, I've actually hated Indian food and, um, uh, no jab at anybody. But once I had a white Indian, that's when I started liking it, you know, butter chicken and chicken tikka masala. I was like, yeah, that's when I started getting into it. So from that point, uh, so basically I just got into like Indian food, like maybe like five years ago. So that's funny coming from me, but yeah. So yeah.
00:56:48
Speaker
I mean, at least you're enjoying it now is the Indian food, man. Oh, it is. Yeah. Well, it's funny is my like wife is like liked it her whole life. So like, you know, she's like, oh, I'm starting to date an Indian man and I'm like cheeseburger, you know, and it's just like, you know, she's she's very grateful that I'm finally got into it. So Indian food is really, really good. Yeah. So before we end this podcast out, let's go over which groups of food we hate.

Country music. Oh, sorry. What's your hot topic, food? I don't think I hate food. Okay. Which one's at the bottom of the list? Like if someone's like, you can have anything you want to eat for the rest of your life. They ask you that every day. Oh, okay. So the end of the year, which one was picked the least amount? The last food I would ever go after is authentic Chinese.
00:57:47
Speaker
Like if I went to like a Chinese gathering at a family's house, they eat a lot of like gelatinous friggin. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. They're adding like armpit and like things you wouldn't like. Dude, like the texture is killing me, dude. The textures kill me. That's fair. Authentic Chinese. I like, I like Americanized Chinese. I like American Indian food. I like American Chinese food. Yeah, see? There we go, man.
00:58:14
Speaker
I am a opposite kind of you is the Americanized Mexican food.
00:58:22
Speaker
I cannot and I will not say authentic Mexican food when you go to a freaking hole in the wall place or a food truck that's just like, there's just an old lady in the back brewing, you know? A food truck. That's what I want. But we go to a Mexican restaurant that's just like, oh, we're going to Mr. Salsa, whatever it is around here. So my wife calls that order by number. She misses it. They don't have it up here. She misses it.
00:58:46
Speaker
So my wife loves it. And everybody that where we come from in South Carolina loves it. Do this. But I hate it. I love all of it. I cannot stand it. I love authentic. I love American Mexican. Taco Bell. Let's go. Yeah. Taco Bell. I'll eat all the Mexican. For me, it's actually I don't know. It might be a shock. But like I put Italian food down there just because I have to be in the mood.
00:59:13
Speaker
I feel you. Let me explain myself how he's got to come back. Let me explain before the pitchforks come out. It's more so because, and you know how I am, dude. I do. I love to eat.
00:59:29
Speaker
I have to be in a mood for Italian because of the fact that the density, the amount they give you, if you go to a legit Italian restaurant, they're giving you two meals worth, maybe three, depending on who you are. Yeah, that's great. That's great. It is great, but it's the feeling afterward, and then it's like, I can eat, I'll destroy Italian food, and it fixes that craving for next month or two for me. It's like, I'm fine.
00:59:55
Speaker
I will literally go eat anything else. But and I know how much you love pasta and I know your opinions on pasta with you and her, but it's like, it's just it's more so just like.
01:00:06
Speaker
My mouth is watering, man. I'm just talking about food in general. I will eat Italian right now. I promise if you have authentic Chinese, you will prefer the Italian food and the pasta. But also authentic Italian food. Fish eyeballs, man. Is like Americanized Italian food. Or like if you go to the store and you make your own stuff.
01:00:28
Speaker
It's so much heavier than what it is if you go to freaking Europe. Yes. Or you have somebody's grandma make it from scratch or whatever. Like over there, you can eat it like you don't feel like you have 80 pounds of just carbs inside of you.
01:00:43
Speaker
uh authentic like someone that you know is truly italian make you yes it's different it's way different i don't have that it's night and day between like but i agree with you what you're saying about it like i'm not going to go to olive garden i'm never picking
01:00:59
Speaker
I'm never picking an Americanized Italian soup place. Now I don't like it anymore. I'll go there and I'll eat a salad and some bread and some spaghetti. But I mean, who cares? What we do is we do the unlimited super salad. Yeah, we don't even get pasta. Yeah, I've done that. And it was fine. That's how like Red Lobster is for me or like I will go for the biscuits, bro.
01:01:21
Speaker
Yeah, that's it. That's the only reason to go. Those places, like Red Lobster or like Achilles or something, if you order to go, it's almost like you get double the amount if you just say to go. Oh, see, I always feel stressed to go. In our experience, it's always been way more. Maybe you're lucky. Yeah, exactly.
01:01:44
Speaker
Like we just got a, we had a gift card for a Longhorn steakhouse and we got it to go. We just got a normal entree and then like their version of a blooming onion, whatever it's called.
01:01:57
Speaker
They give you rolls and it seems like the blooming onion thing was like twice as much as what it's supposed to be. And that's actually way more fries, way more fries. Sogginess afterwards. Yeah. Five minutes away. It was like, yeah, of course it was crispy and crunchy. And then when I reheated it, you just air fry that thing and air fryer. Have you ever had the stampede?
01:02:23
Speaker
The dessert thing, the giant like chocolate. I don't think so. Oh, man. Next time you go, we actively don't go there. Ask about the stampede. My my wife, like the roles at Red Lobster up there.
01:02:37
Speaker
But the Texas Longhorn rules, like, for some reason, Jesus is addicted to it. Longhorn or Texas Roadhouse's rules? I'm sorry, Texas Roadhouse. That's the best chain stake in our opinion. Yes, and that is true. In our opinion. Because the thing is, is I follow the Stake subreddit and a lot of people lately have been posting Texas Roadhouse and how great it is. And it is, like, it slaps everything. And that was my first job, actually. So, like, being able to work there and have
01:03:03
Speaker
access to those rolls, man. Let me tell you, that was dangerous because at the end of the night, what they would do is they would have the oven there and all that stuff is going to get thrown out. So you get to take home as much as you want. So I loaded an entire to go tray box full of rolls and I loaded another one full of all the butter, the cinnamon butter. Oh man. Were you ever 300 pounds in your life?
01:03:26
Speaker
You know, that was that was the start of a very dangerous moment in my life, man, because the amount of free food they gave you there. Luckily, I was in high school, so I've got the high school metabolism. But I couldn't imagine trying to work there now. Like, no, I would definitely be. I'll go ahead and announce that we're going to start a food podcast. I feel like a food episode with a little bit of all together.
01:03:51
Speaker
But what we do is over the course of the next year, we just every episode we talk a little bit more about food. And then like you see our logo start changing slowly to like a hamburger or something. And then by this time next year, it's just a completely food podcast, but no one really knows because we used to. Yeah. It'll be called the ethnic toss salad podcast.
01:04:11
Speaker
And then we'll just talk about all these cool food places we come across on the internet or things like that. We'll be really hungry every time. Every time. But then that makes dinner like that much more exciting getting off. It is like we have chicken to cook, but we also still have like $13 on that Texas Roadhouse gift card. So now I think that's just what I have to do tonight. Go get you some. Gonna do it. We want to thank everybody for listening.
01:04:39
Speaker
Again, new episodes upload every Friday, wherever it is you want to listen. And if you want to watch this, we're on YouTube at log on games, but that's going to do it for us here. We will be with you all again next.
