So I went to, I went to 42 and joined the points there for their seven Oh program. And then just did a lot of like, uh, traveling seven Oh races. I did no prep wars. Um, I did no prep Kings hey ah the new prep king setting, man. Is it, was it pretty cool being doing that kind of thing? It's, uh,

So is it kind of like what Billy and them all showed when they all race small tired hectic wait around time basically before you guys actually got the race and stuff or Yeah, but and there's some wait around time, but then you know you can they want you ready when they say go So yeah you might so you might be in the staging lanes for a half hour. You might be in the staging lanes Longer than that No kidding. I didn't yeah, I figured it was something like it I mean I get they do and especially when discovery had it right her TV show But now with it going on and everything you figured it run a little smoother since they don't have that big TV contract You know what I mean? Well with the ah with the 7o class, you know, we're we're just uh, we're just a filler class So the the cameras weren't on us You know if if the cameras got to us, you know, we're we're in the background

oh yeah you know there There wasn't, there wasn't no cameras like, you know, with the, with the small tire stuff or with the actual, know you know, the end of K event. Gotcha. That's cool though, man. but it's' not it's two though Yeah, it's it's cool to be a part of it. You know, never, never else have I, have I raced where I pulled out onto the track and there's literally thousands of people looking at you, you know, that that's, that's a cool feeling right there.

You know, they come to, you know, they, they come to see, ah you know, cool cars, you know, big burnout, you know, so I try to give them a little bit of everything.

Hey, you got to do what you got to do, especially when you're running basically like a heads up program and everything else. You know, I mean, yes, it's indexed or anything, but you're still technically racing heads up because you got to run a dial, a certain number, but it's, you're actually racing somebody else too. Not just like a normal bracket racing where you're racing yourself.

And you still have to cut a reaction time, you know, you you could be, you could run closer to your time, but get left on and you don't, you don't want to be that guy saying, well, why did I lose? Well, cause you was making a cheeseburger on the starting line. Oh yeah. You're looking at it's like, Oh, there's that McFlurry I left behind. That's why I got beat. you know I mean, I've seen a lot of guys over the years where that stuff's happened from. It's just because they were sleeping on the line, just that wait second cost them a race. I mean, just bracket racing alone, you see that crap. Yeah. And it's happened to me bracket racing. You know, know it's there was a couple races over the season the this time, therere this this past year. And I get my slip and I'm like, man, I was oh really waiting.

I know that one race last year, Ewan, I think it was Berson, the young kid in the red, red Chevelle or whatever. You guys had that one race. He bare, he barely clipped you on the tree and he got you. Like, I think it was like a foul that he beats you at the end. You guys were like neck and neck. That one, one race last year, i watch the video up. You guys were so tight, but yeah, <unk> I've had some, I've had some close ones.

I really like the the 7-0 stuff being able to travel around and you know I'm not not necessarily tied to a to a certain track you know for all the long it gives it lets me expand as well.

I may commit to 42 index points and commit to a bracket program at either pacemakers 42 or even in my backyard at Norwalk.

and that's true i forgot yeah you're up there close it's normal fair you man that's my well walk favorite tracks but i love that it's about a half hour from me and you grew up there it's it's tough ra in there that's why they call it America's track, man. Yeah. but don yeah for Nothing. but lot of legendsbi noral Yeah. I mean, it's nice. We both got famous tracks in our own backyards, man. I got pasted down the road and you got norwalk, you know, it's freaking amazing to see that stuff. And then of course you can't forget trails. It's been around forever. They're doing some amazing stuff down there, too. ive seen I've been following on Facebook. They just put some new starting line concrete and stuff in again. So they've been updating. They've been doing pretty good updating stuff. So I don't know. I've only made it out to the track once this year. That was just on a whim. Me and my boy decided we had some free time. We went out for a little bit for test and tune, watched some of my no prep buddies, Justin Perkins and all those guys and Shawn.

But yeah, that's the only time I actually got to go out to the track with kids and their sports. The girls, my daughter's playing softball this summer and stuff. They're just busy time with them. So, but I'm going to, and you got, you got to go with what the kids are doing, you know? Oh yeah.

I got them going where I just picked up, been driving a 97 Mustang. We're going to probably bracket race. I'm going to turn the oldest to loose and let them bracket race some next year with it. So get their feet wet in it and everything else and go from there when we got time. Right. Yep. Cause I know it takes up a lot of time. Oh yeah. My youngest plays travel ball. So we got that going for us. Okay.

Mainly they had just like all-star tournaments and everything else. Now it's like so many different travel teams that travel all over. That's all in one area and stuff. It's crazy.

So but it was like all the success I had from twenty three, all the all the frustrations hit me all at once in the last couple of weeks of twenty four. i So anyway, the rear end went out of the car, ate up the ring gear.

Um, yeah, the, the time, which then I thought, you know, at that point I, I sent the torque converter off to just to check it out. And since we had it apart, I figured I'd make some changes in it. And, uh, that was, you know, so I made changes when I got the car back together and it went back to being flawless, just exactly what I wanted it to do.

Started being a killer again, huh? it It started being a killer again, a little faster than what it was. though So, so that's not a bad thing. So, uh, we'll just, we'll just kind of leave it alone and maybe just, you know, tidy up some things here and there. I really wanted to get the car rewired over the winter, but I, I don't see that happening. and We'll put a, I'll probably just put new tires and spark plugs in it and change the fluids.

And I've never made a, never made a whole quarter mile hit. Um, I, I did raise some 11 50 index, but i it's, it's way faster than 11 50. Um, it it went 11 50 at 122. So.

Yeah, we had, uh, we had eight points races over four weekends. Each, each points race weekend was a points race on Saturday points race on Sunday. So, you know, pretty set up for it. So that was pretty cool. So I let the point seven out of eight races. That's not bad though, man. I mean, theyre you're dead about there i'm like but And we'll finish we finished third. um You know, I run with some tough guys over there in that class and. We'll get we'll give him a try again this coming year, because you know I. Yeah, I need to. I would like to take a trip up there, especially check out the the pad wars that Bob puts on and everything and else. You know, watch some of that radio racing plus the Chris Lane and them doing the backside stuff. i Yeah, that's kind of cool to see up there, especially on that track.

When a cup two or three every two three years they kind of like flip-flop on the popularity of the style heads-up racing or What's your opinion on that man? Well My opinion is in in a in the heads-up world The guy with the most money is always gonna win Because if I can buy the most power the best chassis I'm, you know, if I can buy the best knowledge, I'm ah i'm always going to win. So it kind of like the, the, the guys that work hard for it that, you know, go out and test it and, you know, breaking cards, busting their ass. Those guys are always going to be the underdog, which those guys, in my opinion, that's the guys I want to see win. I prefer, you know, the, the, the busted knuckles over the a hundred dollar bills flying around. Right. But, uh,

I mean, it's neat watching, but I got into like the Outwall 10 fives watching when you used to be able to watch on TV and everything. You know, you had the small tire guys pushing 2,000, 3,000 horse and they're making it stick. And then now you're seeing these no prep guys making this stuff stick on these small tires or these pro mods. It's like insane watching some of these life beats that they do the show. Oh, yeah I could only imagine though driving and trying to drive in that when it's Yes, you're trying to beat the other person But you're also trying to control yourself at the same time to get to the finish line on the no preps I mean I love watching it. I mean it's just me personally, like a lot of people I've been reading on Facebook, a lot of the no preps are getting watered down because there's so many over top of each other now.
