Fear of Loss as a Barrier

I've been doing the work that I do in different shades and environments and from different positions and capacities for over 20 years. And what I know is the fear of leaving behind and losing what you've achieved, what you've worked so hard for is paralyzing. That fear is paralyzing.

It paralyzes in marriage and friendships and in business and partnerships and relationships. It paralyzes in corporate careers and military careers. It paralyzes in business.

When I say paralyzes, I mean, it keeps you stuck, not moving forward, right? It keeps you not taking steps forward that you you're being called to take.

And it's not just about taking steps. It's about your soul's growth. It's about your soul's vitality and breathing life.

And I know I'm speaking abstractly. i know. I know it's what, you know, a lot of coaches would say, you know, it's fluff. I get it. But I know that I'm speaking into your soul and I know that you know exactly what I mean because when I said breathing life, you probably took a breath.

It's the breath of feeling free in your spirit, feeling free in your speech, feeling free in your mind and in your body and in your soul, feeling free to be and do what you came here to be and do.

The route of speaking my mind, of cursing here and there, of allowing myself to be free. Which self?

My wounded self? my healing self, my expanding self, my awakening self, my spiritually growing self, my my exploring self.

To speak and be free. I would lose my reputation, my respect, my following, all the things that I had worked so, so, so hard for.

But the truth is, i was already losing those things. And let's be clear, I wasn't really losing those things. I was letting those things Right?

I worked really, really, really hard for my reputation and where I had gotten, right? I was a black female minister, chaplain, elder coming from a denomination that didn't honor or support that, right? And now I'm in a profession in the Navy that I was like one of maybe 10 in a sea of about 700 so.
Embracing New Opportunities

So yeah, I worked hard for all those things. And the thought of losing those things was hella frightening.

And the truth, I was energetically making room for the new. So let me be clear. Yes, I was going to lose those things, which were everything to me.

But the losing was actually energetically making room for what I was calling in and for what I was becoming. I was releasing what used to be so important to me and was actually binding me.

Right. It was actually chaining me to the ground. It was chaining me to where I was in that moment. And, you know, staying where you are, staying in that kind of position, that kind of organization, that kind of religion, it may not be binding and chaining to everyone, but it was to me because I was already busting loose. I was already expanding. And so to stay there would have been to chain myself to the box of the past.

I was already growing out of that box, out of that paradigm, out of that formula. So to stay there would have been boxing myself in.

And I know I'm speaking to your soul because you are here. right And this is where the stagnation and the sabotage begins. When we can't see that there's the other side of the expansion and we hang on to the beauty, the goodness, the amazingness of what was.

right We become blind to the fact that we are sabotaging what can be. We're blocking the infinite possibilities that lie ahead for the juiciness that of what was.

And I love that Deepak Chopra said, you know, there's, when you're staying in the past, when you're staying in what's comfortable, when you're staying in, in, in what has always been, there's no growth.

There's no expansion in that. So in the conversation with this loved one, What she didn't know is that I was already doing my internal spiritual work and I had already worked out those fears. So all the things that she was mentioning, yes, I was terrified of.

Finding Freedom Through Spirituality

I spoke with other sisters and goddesses who had walked this path that was so important to me. It was so helpful and supporting to me. I listened to podcasts like the one I'm holding right now.

I kept doing my expansive spiritual practices that felt so very good and so very freeing to my soul. And yet were so taboo to who I was. I had preached against, against the very things that was so freeing to my soul in my current self.

I cried. I hid some more. I came out some more. Then I hid some more. Then I came out some more.

I did EFT tapping. I meditated. ah had my Reiki sessions. Oh, my Reiki sessions were so vital, so vital in this expansion.

I don't know that I could have been where I am now without them.

I shifted more and more in my messaging and my posts, in my podcasts, and it was just little more, little more, little more. I was unfolding.

I was becoming. I really refused to do anything else. I refused to stay in the box because you see, I had been in a domestically violent relationship.

I had been in that kind of box. I had been in that kind of chaining. i have been in that kind of holding back
Rejecting Restrictions for Growth

and coming out of that.

Oh man. So now that when I recognize something else that's holding me, that's suffocating me, that's keeping me stuck or keeping me back, I cannot be there. I refuse. I refuse to stay in that. It's my birthright to grow. It's my birthright to expand.

It's my birthright to be free in expression. It's my birthright to be free in exploration. It's my birthright. My soul came here to expand.

So I was unfolding. I was becoming, I refused to do anything else. I refuse to go backwards. I refuse to be stagnant. I refuse to stay in the box that never really honored me in my fullness anyway.

So I got to ask you, Are you staying loyal, devoted, committed to a person, an ideal, a box, an organization, an institution, a religion, a denomination, a system that never really honored you in the first place?

And that would prefer you fall in line, that you know your place and that you rise only as far as they allow For the sake of the masses, right?
