Introduction and Jayden's Return

00:00:18
Speaker
Welcome, mortals, to another episode of Integrated Dice Management Presents Houston After Dark. I am your storyteller, Ron Bjork, and with me tonight, uh, returning from a long hiatus, Jayden.
00:00:36
Speaker
Hi. um Yes, I'm back. Hello. I mean, nothing special. I have a wedding in like 23 days. So that's why. But, you know, I'm back right now. Yep. None of us are. You know, I'm totally going to show up at your wedding. um I'm going to show up. It's a long drive. I never got an invite. So I don't know where it is.
00:01:03
Speaker
But I can still log into the GPS. So that's true.

Jayden's Wedding and Work Stories

00:01:07
Speaker
I'm going to delete that, by the way. Well, I sold them and I was the first regular technician to sell a commercial. So. Hey, oh, good job.
00:01:19
Speaker
I applaud you by raising my hand on the thing. That's my applause for you. Good job. I hope that doesn't make some sort of, like, sound. but like It's so annoying. Hayden muted himself. He did. I'm looking at the mute button right now. yeah And his mic, so he turns it off, so it's not like... Oh, okay.

Frank's Character and Health News

00:01:45
Speaker
Also with us tonight is Cole.
00:01:49
Speaker
I mean, Frank. Oh, that's me. Hi. Frank. I'm Cole. Um, I'm. Your name on the thing says Cole. It does. Well, I have a Cole and then in parentheses it's Frank. But but it's only the Cole. Yeah, it just says F R dot dot dot. Yeah. So hi, everyone. I'm Cole. a Fuck shit. I did it too. I'm Frank. I'm playing Cole. Um, I forgot my last name, not to be confused with No, Cold Stone, that's what it was. ah Not to be confused with the Cold Stone creamery ice cream. Oh, your wife, Rosetta, right? What? Hey, I've got a phone call. I'll be right back. Anywho, I don't have a wife, actually. I appreciate you pointing that out. Thanks, Jayden. Well, you shouldn't meet a girl named Rosetta. Rosetta Stone? Ah, that would be good. OK, that's in the future.

Health Discussion: Cancer Awareness

00:02:47
Speaker
um
00:02:49
Speaker
Anyways, unlike Jaden who is getting married, I have a surgery plan for like four days from now to remove a tumor because I am cancerous. Yeah, see, I've got things going on too. He's got too much balls. No, I only have two balls. Soon to be less than two balls. You got so many tails in your balls.
00:03:16
Speaker
you got too many balls. Actually looking at looking at the possible like tumors that I can occur. Yeah, this is a PSA for those listening along. And you're somewhere between the age of 20 was 21 and 35. Go, you know, play with your balls in the shower and, ah you know, look for lumps or weird things because I let mine go for a while and God only knows if there's anything else going wrong there.
00:03:44
Speaker
Y'all remember those checkups growing up. They were for a reason. No, yeah that was just your uncle doing things he wasn't supposed to. Oh, we're going to need to get rid of that. Oh, this is getting cut. Oh, yeah. Yeah, there's a lot of trigger warnings happening right now. And for everyone out there, if you're between those ages that Frank mentioned, be sure whenever you go to the doctor, just, you know, get squirrely asking to put a finger up your butt. Just make sure.
00:04:14
Speaker
That's true, even though I never asked. Make sure you also cough to the left. On average, it's like one in 500 men will develop some sort of testicular cancer in their lifetime. There are three levels of severity of types of cancer and then there's like another
00:04:37
Speaker
nine subtypes. Some of them are really bad and some of them you just lose the testicle. Regardless, it can get bad. So just check your balls. Is that the good one that you won? That's my dominant side so kind of.

Hayden Joins and Podcast Chaos

00:04:54
Speaker
Also with us tonight is Hayden.
00:04:58
Speaker
yeah yeah that As soon as the DM leaves all hell fucking breaks loose. you're still on a car and i can really hear Yeah, I'm Hayden I'm gonna be playing max Yeah, it's it's gonna be a wild ride tonight I even know what what's in plan but like it usually goes we're probably gonna fuck shit up Take names. tinames yeah start COVID Thank Hayden and we also have last but not least bill I
00:05:34
Speaker
no ones elevens my third bill is muted Who's yelling the background about something they know?
00:05:50
Speaker
Hey, I have to get my real estate agent a quick call. I'll take a few more minutes.
00:06:02
Speaker
and Jesus Christ, what the hell was that? that's what he did one Stop the mic. ah Let's bring it back to zero guys. Okay. Let's bring it back to zero. So um also with us tonight is Bill. Hey everybody, I'm Bill. You know me, you love me, and I love you.
00:06:27
Speaker
I'm gonna be playing Jerry and whoever the fuck else Ron wants me to play and you know any any fun voices he wants me uh that he tells me that or anyone he tells me to do I'm probably gonna do a fun voice with it so yeah what are y'all up to? Bill can you play with me? I'm always playing with you Hayden. You're so sweet. We're reminding you though. I think the one we haven't introduced was Ron.
00:06:54
Speaker
yeah but oh and uh if anyone want wants to tell me how they're doing you can always leave a comment for us i'd i love reading them even if they're the most i love reading them as well even if it's someone that somehow knows us and we never heard their name in our entire lives call out to you random pest control guy that knows us somehow yeah Yeah, even though this is gonna be like 12 years in the future.

Awkward Customer Encounter

00:07:24
Speaker
Yeah. Oh, no, apparently one of our customers fucking listens to us. Yeah. That's some scary shit, honestly.
00:07:33
Speaker
so we can't talk shit about metaphor force anymore so oh no So I this one customer, right? This one awful, awful customer. And they were awesome. I'm just joking.
00:07:48
Speaker
Yeah, honestly, like, it's rare that we ever actually have any customers that are ah true. True assholes. Yeah. And they're usually assholes to the office before they are assholes to us. Yeah, like one time I straight up.
00:08:01
Speaker
like they yelled at Alexis and I was listening to him yelling at Alexis and afterwards I was like sir is there a problem like is there anything I can do and he's like what do you mean I'm like I heard you yelling at my co-worker and he's like what no I never did that and I was like okay and so I get up in the attic and the dudes pissed because I don't have enough rat glue boards on my truck because you know, it's random Tuesday. And yeah, everyone's having rats. And so and this day only. Yeah. And so everyone's having rats. And so I'm up in his attic and Alexis calls me and Alexis is fuming. And I'm just like, Yeah, no, he's straight up denied yelling at you.
00:08:45
Speaker
and his wife and like afterwards I was like hey sorry that there's a misunderstanding and so like I tried working it all out and the wife was like my husband would never yell at her and I was like ma'am you were standing right there as he was doing it what the fuck are you talking about called out so So holders is owned by Rent to Kill Terminex.

Pest Control Stories

00:09:08
Speaker
Terminex doesn't exist anymore. It's just Rent to Kill, but they've changed their name to Rent to Kill Terminex to make them feel better. ah So holders is owned by Rent to Kill, which is a British company, and they will pay me what they will pay for my training and test for my ace. Wow. So are they paying you a cracked amount because you're a CA?
00:09:30
Speaker
Uh, so I get $21 an hour right now since I'm just being trained, but I will be making 25% commission. Just in general of your daily or of each? Of each job. That's not bad. Well, I think we need to go back. But I've heard what Brandon said about it. I mean, Brandon lost his job because he couldn't defeat a one-legged bird. so Oh, is that what it was? Wait, what happened?
00:09:58
Speaker
and pretty much what I boiled down to. That's hilarious. What do you mean he couldn't defeat a one-legged bird? There was a one-legged bird that kept showing up in a, and a not Lowe's, a Home Depot. Oh, do you all deal with like everything now? Do I deal with everything? Yeah, I'm going up to i'm going up to Wisconsin for a Beg Bug conference. Jeez.
00:10:25
Speaker
So yeah, ah literally my second day working there, um my manager came up, my name supervisor walked up and was like, Hey, Hayden, on the third, would you be willing to go up to Wisconsin, Milwaukee? And I was like, sure, what's up? hu And he's like, Oh, just a big bud training. He was like, sure. Yeah, no problem. Um, but yeah, and then, uh, so a one legged bird kept getting into the home Depot and every time Brandon would come because company policy is if there's a callback, you have to be there in 48 hours unless otherwise directed by the customer. Um, and so every time you get there, birds gone. What is he supposed to do? Just wait there for the board bird. Big, long story. Anyways. Um.
00:11:13
Speaker
And it was super out of the way, apparently. And Brandon wasn't willing to put up with it. And so his manager basically just fired him. Was it going on for like months? Pretty much. I mean, yeah so so the thing is, once as they get a callback, you have to go back and it's super out of the way. And he wasn't getting paid for that, to go and do that.
00:11:38
Speaker
And so he was losing a lot of money. Yeah. I may just suck. It was just unfortunate. and And that was a long time ago. So I'm sure there's more jobs now. Yeah. Okay, I'm back. Dude, it's gone. So the second you left, it just went fucking bonkers. It sounded like it. Yeah. how you heard i would native first We made a full circle back to where it started. Yeah.
00:12:05
Speaker
Should we redo the intro? Frank literally picked up for you after it like started going off topic and then we went back on are really on topic. and the america i I'll just hear all this when I go back and edit. Just edit it. You can have a lot of editing, bro. yeah

Wesley Isaac's Office Confrontation

00:12:27
Speaker
yeah well read it but listen no yeah there's yeah up twelve minutes of just ran out of there yeah no There's a couple things you need to cut yeah out of there. we're going There's so much trigger warnings happening. yeah I definitely cut out the bad stuff immediately after you left. its We finally got let off the leash and we just went by.
00:12:52
Speaker
I mean, if Ron, you want to go ahead and redo like the intro thing, we can yeah use all of this for B-roll like bloopership. I'll make it work. I'll make it work. um So I figure we are going to start with a scene um involving Mr. Wesley Isaac.
00:13:13
Speaker
ah It was actually that is jaymon jayden. Oh, okay um CEO of Isaac genetics ah So Wesley, uh, it is Let's see It is January 15th You're you're you're ah in your office. Um, actually I guess what we're really going to start with is um Officer Randall Binnings played by Frank. and Frank, yeah I did the show to players. um So you'll be at temporary for for this scene, you'll be reprising your role as Officer Randall Binnings. So Randall, Officer Binnings, you actually are no longer Officer Binnings. After
00:14:07
Speaker
jack john jack daniels doe after after the rookie uh mysteriously disappeared from the police station um you were basically all of the blame of the situation was put on onto you and of course it was yeah and you were let go um over the past few days it's probably been let's see if today's the 15th in game it's that I don't remember exactly what date that all occurred, but it was like the fifth or sixth. oh they mind Maybe the third, I don't know. but But essentially, for the past week or so, you've kind of been on a bender and you know just hangovers every morning, um ah you know wake up wake up with a bottle of whiskey in hand, get get started, that sort of thing. you've You've not been happy, obviously. You were wrongfully terminated.
00:14:59
Speaker
um your your guy uh your your trainee um just just ran away apparently um nobody knows what what what the deal is with that um and some people uh sorry Kelsey's texting me um you know some people mentioned seeing him leave with an FBI agent you also uh met with an f FBI agent briefly. ah yeah And the thing that is on your mind is for some reason, um you are when you went to interview this guy, the boss of of ah of Max, the the corpse um who mysteriously got up and ran away, um when you went to interview that guy or interrogate or whatever you'd want to call it,
00:15:57
Speaker
he tried to destroy evidence, you tried to arrest him for it, and the FBI agent stopped you and made you leave. um So that's been on your mind and you find yourself outside the offices of Isaac Genetics Maybe there's some alcohol in your system, maybe not. But you've got a bone to pick with this Wesley guy. So we open the scene with um Officer Randall, well, former Officer Randall Binning standing outside the doors to Isaac Genetics about to you know head in.
00:16:31
Speaker
This is a skyscraper, by the way, and I have a secretary that's sitting at the front. OK. You have a secretary sitting at the front? Yeah, it's like a little semi-circle table. But you're a secretary, not like a... I'll be the secretary. Yeah, that's fine. But I'm saying like, yeah, no, I'm not just like sitting in my lobby. Well, no, I'm saying like, maybe I'm thinking of the wrong word. Secretary doesn't sound right for like the intro person. No, so they went up in the skyscraper. They're outside of his personal office. Wait, am I outside of his personal office or am I outside the front doors to the building?

Randall's Violent Outburst

00:17:10
Speaker
It's probably the building. um
00:17:14
Speaker
maybe you've made Yeah, maybe you've made it up to his personal secretary. you know Nobody really necessarily stopped you. Maybe you've got ah an old badge or something that got you you know got you inside. Well, I don't really have security. I probably have like low-level security, but they're not just going to be like checking people. And I probably still have my my like police badge because you know That's the only thing you have left. kidding I I probably have a piece strapped to my little tiny stum nose revolver strapped to my ankle. um So what am I going in here for? you to confront ah yeah You want to confront this guy who is destroying evidence um and you are prevented from doing anything about it.
00:18:00
Speaker
You're probably not fully in your right mind. I'm not, you don't necessarily have to be wasted or anything, but you know, if you were fully of right mind at the moment, this is a bad idea, but you're pissed right now. I've made it to the doors into, uh, the lobby area before his actual office. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. So I probably pull out of.
00:18:30
Speaker
um I pull out a flask and and, no, I'm still outside. I pull out a flask. I'm like, okay. And then, oops, I fucked up. I moved my thing. Sorry. um So I, you know, I glug a few glugs back of ah my my whiskey in my flask. And then I just fucking kick in the doors. I'm just like, I fucking walk inside. Like, go where is that fucker?
00:19:00
Speaker
Hello, Secretary Bill.
00:19:05
Speaker
no to Oh shit, what was his name? Isaac. Wesley Isaac. Wesley Isaac. Where's that fucker? Where's Wesley? That piece of shit got me fired. Wesley, do you think you'd be able to hear list hear this from inside your office?
00:19:22
Speaker
No, I'm imagining this like, I'm like a maybe six tier building. And like, this is the first floor. And I'm ah probably like, Oh, he's made it to your personal secretary outside your office. Yeah. Because this was actually a scene we had before um he was sitting in a waiting room right outside your office the first time he interviewed you. So okay. he Yeah. my My door is probably right behind like the the the the table. So yeah, I probably hear it.
00:19:52
Speaker
That's a weird place for the door to your office to be. Mr. Isaac is currently meeting in his office. If I can take a message, I can go ahead and relate to it. Otherwise, sir, you're making a disturbance. And I'm going to have to ask you to leave before I call security on the police.
00:20:11
Speaker
Bark. I'm going to mute myself while the dogs are barking. Y'all can keep going, though. and all All I heard was barking for most of that. I'm sorry. We're on the loose. Bill said some stuff. OK, cool. Man, get out of my way. I am the police and I like grab it and I fumble with it to flip it open. And I just kind of flip the badge and then flip it closed and put it back in my pocket. I'm like, no, where is he? Is he in there? As I said, sir, he is currently in a meeting in his office. And also, like I said,
00:20:46
Speaker
If you don't leave now, leave now after leaving your message, I will be forced to call the police, sir. I, I just, I just walk over to the, the, the doors to his office. so a Very important meeting. I closed them and then I kicked the door in ma'am. If you just, Oh, uh, what was it? Uh, uh, Binnings. Okay. Is that my name? Yeah.
00:21:15
Speaker
do Yes, 9-1-1, there seems to be... If you wouldn't mind coming back in like 10 minutes, I'm just finishing this up really quick. Hold on, I ah can't even see where my name is. I don't have... Have you popped up right here? Yeah, I have you popped up. Officer Randall Bennings. Oh, there it is, okay, it just didn't... It's hiding behind some other shit, sorry. um Yeah, okay, cool. It's... Fuck, what was I in here for? Oh, yeah, um... come
00:21:46
Speaker
Sorry, I had too much to drink already. ah
00:21:52
Speaker
Oh, oh um I'm confronting you because you just destroyed evidence and you got me fired. Okay. I did? Yes, yes, i did you did. Yeah, you did. Shut up, Karen. It was it was your ass. I fucking tried to stop you. The FBI showed up and I got fired. I have been a police detective de detective. I have been a police detective for some large amount of time. Insert that time here.
00:22:26
Speaker
And I.
00:22:28
Speaker
I don't... How old and is is Officer Randall Biddings? He looks like 72. He's not 72. I mean, he looks like he might be like 50s. He is. Oh, I didn't put an age. Okay. Yeah, probably 50s. Okay, I'll say it like... eight fifty I'm gonna say it was like 56. Now, he's like 45, but it's been a really hard 45.
00:22:59
Speaker
and goes wrong to stop freakking ah true' the wrong day to sell
00:23:08
Speaker
Let's see, so 45, let's say 25 years. ah Well, no, about four years. ago and twenty Fuck it, 25 years. I've been a detective for 45 years. 45. God damn it. 25. I have been a detective. bridge Thank you, Natalie. um I have been a detective for 25 years and I got fired because you're destroyed evidence and my fucking mini knee disappeared.
00:23:38
Speaker
Alright well, since you took you like 30 minutes to stumble and say that finally, I've already clicked like a button that is like called the police under my desk. Like the actual police.
00:23:48
Speaker
I'm like, all right, sir. Look, I understand you're a little frustrated here, man. If you wouldn't mind stepping out real quick, I was going to speak to this guy. OK, I reached down and grabbed my pistol from around ah my ankle and pointed at you. I'm like, you're not going to talk your ass out of this one. Do I have do I have like speed like leap like blinking? ah You don't have blink, I don't think now you've got I need to pull myself.
00:24:17
Speaker
I don't know if Officer Randall Binnings is supposed to be...

Vampiric Showdown: Wesley vs. Randall

00:24:21
Speaker
I don't know if he's supposed to survive after this scene. It depends on what happens. Yeah. Well, no, I mean, it's like if you have like a story progression line for him after the scene, I don't need to know if he needs to stay alive or not. The scene will be what the scene will be. What in the heck is all that?
00:24:40
Speaker
um You do not have the ability to blink, but you do have rapid reflexes and can dodge, attempt to dodge bullets. Can I attempt to dodge? Like, okay. I basically, how close am I to him? Is he like in my face or is he like standing in the doorway? He's probably five to ten feet away because, well, I don't know, that's up to Frank.
00:25:06
Speaker
is Is Natalie the secretary um still in the room? No, she's out no she's not in in the room. she's She's at her desk. I have just a customer that I was talking to. Oh, I thought she was following. I thought she followed. Right before she got up, you pulled out the gun. OK. I thought you were talking to Natalie. Gotcha. Sorry. OK.
00:25:29
Speaker
Um, but are you in my face or are you away? Um, I am probably like, I closed the door, then I kicked the door in and I stepped inside. So I'm probably only like maybe two to three feet inside of the, the, the office. okay So you're like probably like, yeah, 10, 15 feet away from me. I see you do before I'm not getting close. So, uh,
00:25:52
Speaker
Jayden, so rapid reflexes. um while While you still can't defy the laws of nature, of vampires with this power perceive events instantly and can react to them with superhuman alacrity. They can observe incoming projectiles, so you can like see in flash time. um ah With this power, you suffer no penalties to your defense pools for lack of cover against firearms. You can also take a minor action such as readying or reloading a weapon, um you know, a quick action you can take as a free action essentially. Okay. Well, I want to use my quick reflexes of him going to grab the gun and pulling it. Can I like start making my way towards him? How close can I get in that time you think? I don't think you could cross the room because you'd have to go around your desk and all of that. um But you could definitely, the thing is I would give
00:26:46
Speaker
um Okay, orman fra Officer Binning's roll a wits and composure. They're both at the in the top area. This is to see if you're surprised by him coming at you. um So my composure is like zero. His should be two. Oh, there it goes. I don't know what was happening. I had nothing. Six dice rolled, two successes, okay.
00:27:14
Speaker
um Yeah, that's enough to to you can react to him coming at you. You are not called off. I mean, it's surprising, but you are not technically surprised. So I see I'm moving. You want to dodge? No, he's moving. I'm not running. I'm running at regular speed. I draw the gun and I say, sit your ass back down or I'm a shooter. Us. I keep coming towards them.
00:27:45
Speaker
Like I'm like running towards you, trying to grab the gun from you. So firearms plus.
00:27:55
Speaker
It will be firearms plus dexterity. Dexterity. All of a sudden, have from your desk, you get this little ping on your phone that says, ah Mr. Isaac,
00:28:12
Speaker
I've taken the liberty of calling the police for your and for your ah clearly belligerent guess. Did you have a thing for our modifiers? Maybe it's way higher. Firearms plus dexterity, submit modifier zero, submit. Nothing. That's odd. Oh, let me refresh. OK.
00:28:43
Speaker
What was his name?
00:28:48
Speaker
quick picture randall ben he's He's a human MP, he's a NPC human. Officer Randall Benings, there it is. Okay, firearm plus dexterity, c submit, submit.
00:29:08
Speaker
Anything? No. I wonder if it's because I've got this enabled. That's been given issues. Let me see if it works for me. Firearms, dexterity.
00:29:21
Speaker
Worked for me. I turned off the API script. That might be what's causing the issue. um Two successes. OK, so wait. Oh, you're saying two successes. Interesting.
00:29:37
Speaker
you are You are meant to have two successes on this role. Okay, so he fires the gun. Now you can react to this, Wesley, by doing a um athletics plus dexterity to to dodge. okay You don't have athletics, so just dexterity.
00:29:55
Speaker
Okay, and I mean, even if I got hit by this bullet, it's not really gonna do anything, right? Not gonna hurt you much, no. Okay, that's what I figured. um Holy crap, we've got a bunch of rolls coming in. ah It was just delayed. Well, your first one that came through was two successes. Those other ones would have been nice, but... Well, I mean, I've just been seriously pulled the trigger, so... Well, the way the combat works in this is, um you are actually, it's actually your successes cover multiple trigger pools. like It's like a so more of a scene versus a each turn is so many seconds type of thing. So yeah, you can be unloading into them. And still, this is um you know two successes, basically. All right, so Jayden, do you need to do dexterity to dodge? I don't think. Less strength? No, just dexterity. OK, no second attribute.
00:30:49
Speaker
Yeah, and I don't think your thing actually gives you any bonuses to that yet. I think it just allows you, because normally at in this sort of situation, a human would not, or even another vampire would not be able to attempt to dodge this. I did it, but it didn't go through. Just give it a minute. It took a while for Franks. Maybe the server is being slow or something.
00:31:17
Speaker
Is API turned on for yours too? Let's see what happens if I turn it off. That seemed to help Frank's. Yeah, it's all going through on my side now. um Try it again. Oh, wait. hook up That's Frank's stuff. You're tricking me. Okay. ah Hunger success is one, normal success is zero.
00:31:39
Speaker
um So that's one success. All right, so you, because you were coming at him, it was harder for you to actually dodge like you would normally be able to do. You still start to turn and the bullet only clips you in the shoulder. um So a pistol, let me pull up, ah Frank, I'm gonna flop around on your sheet for a second. um So you cancel out one of his successes. um Oh, I didn't give you the gun. um Let me look, I know I've got stats for the gun on. um
00:32:11
Speaker
on someone else for a basic pistol. This guy's got a pistol.
00:32:21
Speaker
pistol ah so Pistol has a damage value of four, plus you had one more success than him. So for a total of five damage, but then as a vampire, you only take half damage from bullets. So um to you would take two damage.
00:32:37
Speaker
and then two two slashes yeah like that okay superficial damage that's why i was about to say artificial i was like wait yeah i was like no uh now you can go ahead and react though because you are right in front of him now okay i want to crush the gun in his hands not like with his hands in it so you just you don't have that level well you can boost your strength um but you currently don't have like super super strength okay um okay you can do a rouse check to give you a plus two bonus to strength. I'll do that. So you do not get hungrier so go ahead and roll strength um and with a modifier of 2. I'm gonna say this is a for a vampire okay yeah that's enough difficulty. um I recently learned okay so vampires in this game do have a sort of
00:33:30
Speaker
superhuman strength and that when you do things like rouse basically I set a difficulty for you even though your strength stat is only two I was gonna say it was a difficulty three and that's how much you got so um and none of those were crits good um Uh, so yeah, you are able to grab hold of the gun. You don't crush it like necessarily to a tiny ball or anything, but you do like like the end of it or something you been end of it ah longer functional binnings This just happened. This guy grabbed your gun and bent it With one hand we got shot in the shoulder and basically did it react? Yeah Um, you can also
00:34:12
Speaker
You can also at the same time as part of your turn if you want to rouse again. You can heal those two two wounds. Oh wow. Yeah, let's do it. Okay, so you do get hungrier. And I'm gonna go like so you would change them to red like that. Oh, you shouldn't be that high. You should. Yeah, and put yourself at two. Okay, I'm about to say this kind of about get torn up. You want to bend that high whenever you. um You would have been that high from the the last time you played, but it's been time has passed. OK. It was a really great high. OK, cool. So I'm healed again. That's good. um Well, then yeah so that that's my turn. So now it's back to him. Yeah. OK. So I would have like actually grabbed it and like bent the barrel. I would have like dropped the gun to a couple of steps back and surprise.
00:35:00
Speaker
um and then looked at it and looked at Wesley and been like, I knew there was something wrong with you. And then you see a reach in. He's drinking too much, old man. Give me a composure. Frank, give me a composure plus resolve rule. I want to see if this is to not have fear. I can't do composure plus resolve. I can do composure plus intelligence.
00:35:33
Speaker
You should be able to do composure plus resolve. Is the resolve not? Huh. Oh, there it is, yep. With the plus two modifier because you're drunk. Oh, ah so. it's Just type 2d10, roll 2d10. Piper. One more success. Okay, yeah, you are a compos you maintain your composure. This is not, so for like you are,
00:36:00
Speaker
What's what would you call it you ah again just like the surprise you are Possibly frightened by this but not to where it affects you like it doesn't affect your faculties So I imagine this was like officer Randall's like last-ditch like bringing to Jesus type scenario, right?
00:36:19
Speaker
Maybe. That's what it's kind of turned into. So he would probably reach into his coat and pull out some sort of explosive incendiary, like a Molotov cocktail type thing. You could have, because you've been drinking, maybe you've got a Molotov cocktail, sure. Do you have a lighter? I don't know if I have a lighter or not. Yeah, you can have a lighter. You came prepared.
00:36:44
Speaker
you were guy you yeah what What I got a role to roll to light this thing on fire and and crush it on the feet of Wesley. So here's the problem. Rapid reflexes and he's at point blank with you now. He pulls out. it so Wesley, yeah you see him pull out this bottle um and a lighter. You can try to stop him.
00:37:09
Speaker
I'm just going to grab up the lighter, because you can't do anything with the bottle. So you'd need to roll. You don't have brawl either. You're not a fighter. You'd need to roll um ah strength to try to to grab him. OK. You can always rouse to give yourself a plus two bonus. Oh, might as well. Shoot, this guy's about to get eaten either way. You do not get hungry. yeah if you If you rouse anyway, like you can probably just crush his hand. Yeah, so plus two bonus. I'm not trying to do all that to him.
00:37:40
Speaker
I mean, you're going to eat a marcher. We'll see. You also have mind control powers, by the way. Oh, that's right. we could just We'll just see how this goes out. OK, so two successes. I think I do think Randall should get a chance to roll um for you, I guess. He's trying to grab your hand, you know grab the bottle out of your hand. So give me a brawl plus strength officer.
00:38:11
Speaker
um So, is he able to... I thought he was going for the lighter, not the... Either way. Yeah, or you can choose to just let him. Are you going for the lighter or are you going for the bottle? The lighter. Okay. um and In such case... I want to try to smack him in the... I want to try to smack him in the head with the bottle. Okay, he's going to get the lighter from you. um I'll get hit with the bottle.
00:38:43
Speaker
I'm trying to shadow this on his head. Okay, and technically I probably should have been in athletics plus strength for this grapple, but now you're trying to smash him with a bottle, so give me... Athletics plus strength? Yeah, you got a 10, cool.
00:39:04
Speaker
um
00:39:06
Speaker
All right, all right. That was to not get the lighter out of you out of your hand. Jaden rolled a two, so he does get the lighter from you, but you're going to smash the bottle over his head now. So now we're looking. Normally, I would call that melee, but I feel like smashing a bottle bottle is definitely more brawling. So go ahead and do brawl plus strength now. Jaden, you can dodge or you can counter-attack. What would you rather do? I'm just going to get hit by it.
00:39:32
Speaker
Oh, OK. Because I know it's not going to do anything. I'm just going to let him break it over my head and just stare at him. 8's in the tin. So you smash this bottle into his head. 3 divided by 2, round down. Jayden, you take one superficial damage. OK. And then can I grab the broken bottle out of his hand now? To grab it out of his hand, that's going to be another grapple type deal. Athletics.
00:40:01
Speaker
opposed athletics plus strength checks against each other.
00:40:08
Speaker
Oh, you got a chance. He said athletics plus strength. Yeah. Yeah, Randall, you managed to hold on to the bottle. um Can I attempt to to take the lighter back in the same process?
00:40:24
Speaker
theres good tree back well has has my As the lady that was in my room left during all this or is she just horrified I can imagine she ran. She's yeah freaking out. She's probably also called the cops. I looked up Houston response time for the police. She he called the cops when he busted down the door. Yeah, but it's only been a matter of seconds since that happened. um Maybe a minute or two response time is eight to to eight to 11 minutes. Plus they have to ride the elevator up and
00:40:59
Speaker
Yeah. Yeah. So we're looking at you've got a good 15 to 20 minutes. How long is it still? You're very quiet. Oh, sorry. Can you hear me better now? No, slightly. Is this any better? Yes, that's that's terrible. Yeah. That's terrible. But it's louder. That's perfect. That's good. Right. How long has it been since the officer just stormed past the receptionist?
00:41:27
Speaker
One maybe one and a half minutes like okay. He passed you and went straight in All right, cuz yeah, she did she the police are on their way. No, she called is press your magnic button Yeah, yeah she she called police and security so Okay,
00:41:47
Speaker
I'll keep that in mind I Mean, I'm I'm not worried. I'm just not trying to kill this guy in front of anybody and I'm fine. I um Anyways, so i'm I'm just gonna try to let him just kind of brawl on me until the police arrive or don't um don't forget you've got Compel you've got okay. Okay. Well, then i'll do this I'll do this. I'll do this. I'll do this. All right So I tell the secretary wait outside because I'm sure the other lady left I closed the door and those might Well, you can't do all of that. You're currently fighting but you could compel him. I
00:42:26
Speaker
Again, I thought it was my turn. Well, yes, it is your turn. I'm just reminding. OK, so Frank, what do you you you wrench the lighter back? I want to light us up on fire. Well, I get me, I guess a brawl. No, no, no, that's for the bottle. Oh, he did it again.
00:42:46
Speaker
No, so I smashed you. That was that one. And then you tried to take then your turn was you're trying to take the bottle the the bottle fragments away from me. And I want to take the lighter back and light you on fire. OK, so have you rolled for that? No, that's why I'm waiting on i go on to decide on. I guess to wrench the lighter back, that's another opposed athletics plus strength. Athletics plus strength.
00:43:15
Speaker
yeah
00:43:18
Speaker
That's one for Frank, for Randall Binnings. And then Wesley needs to roll one. And one for Wesley. ah In this case, I'm going to say you two are struggling with each other. But neither has gained the upper hand. ah Now it's your turn, Wesley, to use. OK, well, I need him in the balls. You need him in the balls. OK, that's a brawl plus strength.
00:43:49
Speaker
And do I oppose this, or? Zero successes. I mean, don't even bother. You two are too busy struggling. Well, then you lost your chance to compel him or whatever else you were going to do, because now it's Frank's turn. That's fine. So did I not get the lighter back? Not yet, now. No, we're struggling. We're like hand in hand kicking and fighting. Yeah, we're like doing a tango.
00:44:16
Speaker
um Alright, I would like to get the lighter back and light him on fire. So, try again. That's two.
00:44:29
Speaker
that's two Alright. I'm getting this over with. You got, you got none. So he's got that locker. That's Roush. That's Roush though, so you get a plus two bonus.
00:44:47
Speaker
Still only one. Wait, now something's wrong there. That only rolled two dice total. Did you give yourself a plus two modifier? Oh, I probably didn't. I'm an idiot. Oh, it's because you, I think it's because you flat rolled athletics, not athletics plus strength. Okay. i would Plus strength and then two.
00:45:09
Speaker
And what did? Two and two again. Um,
00:45:18
Speaker
So that's a lot of hunger successes. What is hunger successes? Hunger successes only matter yes they if they're crits. Oh. Yeah. um Because he's at two hunger, so his dice pool is split between his two hunger dice. It's because I turned off the API because it's not working right now, so it's not doing it the fancy way. Gotcha. But yeah, he adds. So that's four successes, Wesley.
00:45:46
Speaker
um You definitely have the lighter. You you you know you shove them off. or You've got the lighter. You know you can crush the lighter if you want.
00:45:57
Speaker
um Sure. In my hands. Yeah. That would probably make sense for you. I mean, a human could do that. Especially if it's those plastic ones. How expensive is this lighter? Or I could just throw it on the ground and stomp on it. It's probably a metal Zippo.
00:46:15
Speaker
Well, either way, you know, you get the lighter back and, and you know, break it. ah So at this point, I'm going to say security bursts through the door on the other side of the office, you know, like outside where the secretaries are, and they're they're running towards you. um I'm going to say, Officer Binnings, you've got, you can probably got one more move before you get tackled. It's Binnings turn. Okay. I would like to ah grab my gun off the ground, the one that's fucked up now, okay and then shove it against Wesley's chest and pull the trigger. Hoping the last round in the chamber, um we'll explain the spark and explosion that it's going to make could light them on fire. All right. um So firearms plus something.
00:47:07
Speaker
I'm going to say firearms plus dexterity, but but we're going to say because the gun, because you're not really firing the gun per se, we're going to do this at a minus three.
00:47:21
Speaker
So, my fire minus three. I'll give you a minus two. You're trying to bend down, grab a gun, get back up, shove it into his chest, and then set it off all fall in one go.
00:47:34
Speaker
without me realizing somehow. Three successes. That was missing with the minus three, so. That's pretty good, though. And so Wesley, you can. Oh, you know, something I've completely forgotten about. Willpower. How many dice did you roll for? You could spend a willpower to reroll one of your failed dice. What does he have to lose? Yeah, OK, I do that. That's a success for successes, Wesley.
00:48:05
Speaker
You need to... what ah you I'm guessing you're just trying to dodge away from this. So, um, Dexterity. You don't have Athletics, so... um Just by itself. Yeah, unless you're gonna rouse or anything. I did. Okay. So, Dexterity plus two.
00:48:28
Speaker
All right. And because I always forget willpower exists, you can't... Well, you got two successes on your hunger anyway. You can't use willpower on hunger, but you can use it on normal. You failed one of your normal dice, so you could spend a willpower to reroll that normal one. Would it even... it would It would cancel each other out. Okay. Because he's got... He's sitting up for successes right now. Is it a d10 as well? Yeah. Okay. I'll do that. Why not?
00:48:58
Speaker
Five is a failure. ah Okay, so that's a net of one success for Frank. um let me let's Let me just roll something here.
00:49:16
Speaker
Rolled an eight. That was just to influence my decision. um Because whiskey's not that flammable. Um, wait. Okay. Never, never mind. I was like, how did he get a bottle if he had a flask? But I was like, I guess he could have a bottle. yeah Anything over 65%? I mean, he's probably been chugging from the bottle, not the flask. Uh, you know, I'll say that this bill, what'd you say? Anything over 65% is flammable.
00:49:52
Speaker
Yeah, but it's also kind of soaked into his clothes. It's been in the open air for a few seconds. I'm going to say it does light up. It's not something that you couldn't put out. um But you are a vampire, and vampires are quite flammable. So you will take an aggravated damage from this. um So that's, I changed it on your health box, but you change your box to an X. Aggravated is harder to heal.
00:50:18
Speaker
ah and you know if all of your damage is aggravated. But what I will say with a... um It's not the best way to light someone on fire. um How badly do I get hurt in the process of this gun exploding? Ooh, that's true. Your hand's probably blowing off.
00:50:39
Speaker
because I was attempting to like you know jump you know grab it off the ground and like shove into him with this gun and pull the trigger. I would assume I'd probably be trying to like, I don't know, tackle him or something. That's only one success. Well, that's not how damage technically works. I'll say Binning's probably gets two aggravated damage from the gun blowing up his hand. Aggravated is slasher and X. An X. Okay.
00:51:10
Speaker
um And now you're down to two health. So any physical, because you're human, at this point, any physical actions you take are going to be at a negative two penalty um because you're you're severely wounded. ah He didn't have a lot of health. He was old. So I just blew off part of my hand. Yeah. um So you're you're in a lot of pain. So how much damage does and he take from the explosion?
00:51:39
Speaker
Pretty much nothing. That's a good point. That's a good point. I thought that was a part of it. The bullet explosion itself, it's going to be not aggravated to you for the bullet parts. But the lighting on fire is what hurt you. So Frank took two damage, so you'll take one superficial.
00:52:02
Speaker
um So yeah. you're As a vampire, you do not suffer any penalties for being low on health. um but yeah so and and I'll give them the surprise of all this happening. you You two are both on the ground, but at this point now, security has run in. They grab ah they they they you know basically dogpile the officer and and pull him off of you.
00:52:27
Speaker
um And ah this is where we're gonna end the scene. He's struggling, they're dragging him out. Shortly, a few minutes later, the cops do arrive and Officer Brando Binnings is now under arrest for attempted murder. So, um quick quick question. So, i when I broke the bottle on ah Wilson, Wallace, leslie Willie, Wesley, um when I broke the bottle, I would have been aiming for the head, not as close.
00:52:56
Speaker
Yeah, it doused him. So, like, over me wesley from his, like, basically shoulders up just caught fire? Yeah. His hair, skin. Yeah, did no, he took some aggravated damage from that. um I would say it wouldn't be very hard to put out. on Like, I always wear a suit. What time was this? Probably five. Well, it's after dark.
00:53:23
Speaker
um and We're still in January, so probably more like six, maybe seven. Seven sounds more appropriate.
00:53:34
Speaker
Um, and yeah, and then, and then that, so, um, with the, the scene changes as officer Binnings is being dragged off by, uh, the police. Um, you know, he's, he's now in handcuffs. The, he probably knows the people who are, who are being forced to, to, to arrest him. Um, and, uh, and we, we fade to black, we fade back in. Um, Hayden, are you, you're here, right? Yeah. Okay. Um,
00:54:04
Speaker
Would Max still be living with Jerry? I mean, I guess it's only been a few days, but is he still living with Jerry? It is the 16th now. It's been two days. a few Well, a few days since you moved in with Jerry. It's probably, I don't remember the day that you faked your death, but you know, I'd give it, it's been about a little over a week. Jerry, that cool with you? Yeah, that's cool with me.
00:54:33
Speaker
Yeah, I mean, I'm living in the fucking scene of Raccoon. Yeah, you live in the ceiling like a raccoon. yeah Forget about that. That's your choice, by the way. I doubt Jerry forces you to do that. Yeah, no, it's true to my choice. i keep So Jerry, we're not.
00:54:51
Speaker
We're not going to do the therapy sessions that are happening during this time, but this does happen to fall on a day that a therapy session will be those take too long um unless we go back to the best we'll see instead we multiple therapy sessions that are going to happen before this month is over. Literally there's.
00:55:09
Speaker
There's one on the 16th. The next one is the 21st, and then the 23rd, and then the 28th, and then the 30th. So if we got time tonight, we can do a therapy session. But I want to get through the more important scenes. OK, so let's say as Jerry, as you are heading downstairs to, ah um what do you call it?
00:55:36
Speaker
go to your therapy session, um yeah the group therapy. ah Your secretary, I forget what you said her name was. Do you remember?
00:55:47
Speaker
Probably not. Her name was? Or receptionist or whatever. It was Rita. Rita. So Rita opens the door to the like hallway leading to the staircase that leads up to your above the business apartment um as you're coming down and says oh oh jerry there's someone here to see that guy who's been staying with you and behind her is a pale um white man i guess yeah he's a white man um who's standing yeah behind her let me get his picture uh i know i made him oh there he is uh this is the picture of the guy
00:56:32
Speaker
um He's got blonde hair. He's buff, I guess. That's what he looks like through here. He's blonde hair. Looks like he's probably um maybe from ah like the ah web like Norway type area, like that kind of, you know, maybe he's got some Viking blood running in his veins.
00:56:59
Speaker
Please tell me he wears a hammer of Thor. He does not wear a hammer of Thor. Damn it. not Damn it.
00:57:08
Speaker
OK. And this guy said, yeah, she steps aside and he's like, yeah, he says, yes, I'm here to see Max. Ah, yeah. It's ah business. He looks at the secretary and says, it's a business with his his group.
00:57:29
Speaker
Okay, ah yeah, yeah, go go right ahead. and i'll ah I'll show you to him. Thank you so much, Rita. You can you can call it an early or an early day today. Man, she gets to go home early all the time, every time we see her. She's salary. She doesn't give a shit. That's true. Yeah, so she she she's like, yeah, okay, thanks. Thanks, boss. And you know heads on out. um I'll let the guys know you'll be just a couple more minutes.
00:57:55
Speaker
Uh, actually, uh- Don't you have several fists? Therapy sessions first scheduled for today? ah Well, he's I believe Jerry has other other therapists who work with him that are having daytime sessions. Jeremy does Jeremy, du Jeremiah, Jerry, call it Jerry. does the ah He does the group session in the evening, um twice a week, and then he does any solo sessions in the evenings.
00:58:28
Speaker
and then other solo sessions during the day are done by whoever else works with them. Yeah. Actually, Rita, this this is actually this is last minute. This is super important. I know that a couple of people are still here on your way out. Can you see if we can get one of the fill-ins just to cover the group for tonight?
00:58:50
Speaker
um The guy speaks up and he says, oh, I just needed to see Max. You can do whatever you need to do.
00:58:58
Speaker
Oh, OK. Then take your time. I'll be. I'll be back whenever whenever it's done.
00:59:07
Speaker
And ah yeah, so the guy moves past you and he heads upstairs um before we go to that.

Max Meets Michael Kooer

00:59:17
Speaker
ah Oh, do you know what?
00:59:20
Speaker
I wasn't going to do the, okay, we'll do it we'll do that the session in a little bit. um ah We are going to do the session, but we'll do the Max scene first. okay Because I just had an idea of a better way to do this this other thing I have planned since we're already here. um Okay, the guy goes upstairs, you know comes inside, looks around, Max, are you currently hiding in the ceiling or are you, you know I mean, it's well past dark.
00:59:46
Speaker
Okay, it's a little past dark now. I'm just chilling in the office. Yeah, so the guy walks in. um You've never seen this man before. um He looks over to you and says, ah are you Max? Max Cox.
01:00:06
Speaker
And I go, but do you much know your name? I'm here on behalf of, well, not on behalf. I'm here involving Tiv.
01:00:18
Speaker
You know Tiv? Yes, I know Tiv. ah he he shuts it like He peeks out the door, make sure you know no humans are out there, um closes the door, turns around, um cancels the bless blush of life. You see his skin start to pale before you.
01:00:34
Speaker
says, yes, my name is Michael Kooer. This is the problem with random name generator. I don't know how to pronounce them. Michael Kooer. I'm Tiv Sire. I assume you're aware that she's been ah arrested.
01:01:03
Speaker
And they go, I know she was under investigation. ah It's a lot worse than that. she She's currently being held by the clan. um There's going to be a trial coming up soon um on did i put the data to win the trial going to be on and i forgot to put the date um the trial is going to be on February Her trial is coming up soon.
01:01:36
Speaker
ah And I am here to coach you, assist you, teach you what it is to be a member of the clan, and also to find out how you want to, you will be summoned to this trial as well to speak either on her behalf or against her. That's entirely up to you.
01:02:00
Speaker
um Actually, yeah, I'd kind of like to know how you'd be leaning. I look i go and I say, are they mistreating my sire? Your sire is not being mistreated. She's being held in accordance with the laws of our clan.
01:02:22
Speaker
she like I suppose I should tell you what what her crimes are specifically. there So she's got a number of crimes. um as as As her sire, i'm I'm a bit torn. She broke some rules, but at the same time I don't want to see her die. You're my grandpa? He chuckles. Yeah, yeah I'd be her grandpa, yes, ah so to speak. Wild. Yeah, so she...
01:02:52
Speaker
First off, her embracing you was very much against the rules. we have We have procedures that we go through now. She was ordered by the prince. However, she also broke the rules of the clan. The prince is not of our clan. She did not consult the clan on on what she should do in this situation. had we Had the clan decided that you were not to be embraced, we would have protected her.
01:03:21
Speaker
But instead, she did not consult the clan and went and embraced you. um We don't know whether or not you are worthy of being part of the clan. We don't know anything about you. Normally, this would be a process that takes years. We would we would study you. She would get to know you ah as as if she were a human. you know She would have gotten to know you. And if we had deemed that you were worthy of joining, she would have invited you to join. Unless, unless of course, you ah were a criminal. um In some cases, we do embrace criminals as a chance to redeem themselves.
01:04:07
Speaker
but so Besides all the political bullshit that just came out of your mouth, she do you pledge allegiance to the prince or do you not?
01:04:19
Speaker
While I'm here in Houston, prince of the united nations of empires While we're here in Houston, we we do obey the laws of the prince, but there is no pledging of the allegiance. this is the The prince rules Houston, but the prince does not rule our clans. We can always leave Houston. Had she simply left even, the prince would have had no no power to Well, no, no, I don't want to say legal, but ah because it's not like we're part of the the US government or something, but she would have he would have had ah no right to to pursue her had she taken um sought asylum in another domain.
01:05:09
Speaker
under another prince or had she come to simply come to the clan we would have sheltered her and and either interceded on her behalf with the prince or we would have moved her to another city and protected her that way there there were things she could have done rather than just do what do what the prince told her she did what she did out of fear for her life which i can understand in perhaps lesser kindred but tiv Tiv was a um an inquisitor. She should have known better.
01:05:49
Speaker
god um I mean, we're vampires, right? And I look over ah all three of us. Jerry's not here. Oh, Jerry's not here? No. um And I go, well we're all vampires. Isn't that the greatest sin?
01:06:04
Speaker
Yes, you're you're correct. All of us are are in the long term. We're all deserving of death but Our clan have we have made it our job to punish uh We we don't necessarily want the destruction of all vampires, uh, we we are yes we're a Some might say we're abominations. Um We try to The only abomination of those Nosferatu's guys are down there. Their... Their curse definitely has its downsides. No, we... We enforce... Nosferatu, sorry. Yeah. It's complicated, but... In the end, we're all deserving of punishment. That being said, um any most people could say that about anyone. We try to
01:07:03
Speaker
punish those who are the most deserving.
01:07:07
Speaker
And when you're talking about a bunch of monsters, there are monsters who are more deserving than others. And in the human world, we don't typically interfere during training when when you're when you're young. Yes, you'll if If you choose to follow the path that your sire chose, um that I chose, you would ah learn to hunt criminals and and inflict justice upon them. But that's not the only role ah possible within the clan. There's also the the judges where you could
01:07:45
Speaker
um
01:07:48
Speaker
find another role i don't know um that's me ron saying i don't know so mike ao or mike mike can i communicate michael yeah you can call me kale or i can call you kale like the disgusting no call me grandpa call me pay people call me grandpa call me peep up call me papa yeah
01:08:18
Speaker
um
01:08:20
Speaker
Sorry, how do you pronounce your name again? Michael. Michael. Michael.
01:08:29
Speaker
I'm sure you obviously know that I'm siding with her. Tiv, in my opinion, did nothing wrong. She was she did as she was told, maybe out of fear, but
01:08:42
Speaker
when When the strongest person comes around and tells you to do something, shoot. Give me an Insight plus wits roll. Insight plus wits. Insight's in the center thing. and yeah Yeah. And we'll see if yours decides to roll or not. Plus wits. Yeah. Any modifiers? No, unless you're going to rouse.
01:09:14
Speaker
It did not want to roll. okay um At the top of the sheet where it says options, do you are you able to see the options enable API scripts?
01:09:27
Speaker
what ah yeah i mean um just i chat off Turn that one off, that first box. yeah yeah that's I have to reset the API. which requires us to leave the game. Two, three successes. ah Yeah, so um as you start saying this, you know, going down this line of ah talking, um you you do do notice while he tries not to ah appear this way, he does start to visibly relax.
01:10:00
Speaker
That I don't hate to? Yes.
01:10:06
Speaker
Okay, just making sure I understand yeah my own insight. um I go, and I highly doubt for your daughter or your, you know, heir, whatever you want to call her, I don't even know how to, what the hell, I've been a vampire for a week. um But I'm, I highly doubt you know that she would do something out of being stupid. I mean, you vetted her. Your clan vetted her, just like you said you would have. She's not stupid. She would have done the right thing. he ah He nods a little bit and he's like, I honestly, I agree. Tiv really should have come to the clan first, and we likely would have approved her following the prince's orders.
01:10:57
Speaker
ah is as long as she doesn't make a scene, as long as there's nothing else that comes to light, ah we should be able to get her off with maybe just some minor punishment, maybe a few years torpor, maybe not even that bad. um so The clubhouse is just angry that we they weren't talked to. Well, she did break the rules. You weren't we we you haven't been vetted.
01:11:28
Speaker
um you know For all we know, you you could be a ah terrible member of the clan. um Hang on one second. mike I'll be right back. Hey. I poke my head out. Bill, or what the hell is your character's name? Jerry. Jerry. I go, yeah, I poke my head out and I go, Jerry, you alive out there? Sorry, dogs were doing something they weren't supposed to. And I go, Jerry, you dead out there?
01:12:00
Speaker
Jerry's downstairs. Yeah, but I fully left to go down to a do therapy session. Yeah, he just left you with this unknown vampire. Damn it. You're a vampire. You're a vampire. What the fuck are you worried about? So what was I saying? um Oh, yeah. ah So Tiv, you know, she she she did break the rules.
01:12:24
Speaker
under Under duress, like I don't necessarily blame her. I wish she had at least contacted me um so we could go through the proper... ah It would be less of a problem if I approved this. Normally that's not how we do things, but at least she'd have um one member of the clan backing her on this. ah So basically all we have to do now is...
01:12:52
Speaker
Assuming she hasn't broken any other rules that if you can think of something I don't know of anything, but I haven't been allowed to speak to her yet I'm not gonna incriminate my own sire Well, what I'm saying is uh, well, yeah good good Um, but as long as there's nothing else she's done um, we can probably get her off we The best way to do that will be to prove that you are worthy of being a member of the clan Can I go and see her? i I might be able to arrange that, not tonight though. They haven't even let me see her and I'm her sire. they As far as I understand, they've been interrogating her. They're also trying to make sure she hasn't broken any other rules that we don't know of.
01:13:41
Speaker
Well tell the clubhouse or family would like to see her but is there anything I can do in the meantime or You said you're my sensei. You got to teach me stuff and some wax on wax off shit. There's a lot I can teach you ah Mostly about hunting and killing bad guys but if you want to go down that path I can teach you otherwise we can just talk about the clan and about the the lessons that she wouldn't have had time to teach you yet, Kindred Society, the clan, the laws of the clan, things like that. It's still so fucking wild when we just drop killing people with no hesitation, dude. Or hunting people, that's just so wild. um How about we do the best of both worlds while we go and hunt evil people? You tell me about the clan.
01:14:38
Speaker
And he says, we we can definitely do that. And then we will switch away from your scene. So now we have a guidance for what you will be doing. um And we go downstairs to the therapy session. um We've got the usuals. ah We've got, um let me find my human NPC so I can remember everyone's names. We've got,
01:15:08
Speaker
Uh, uh, where Jason Darryl played by, um, Frank, um, that is Jason Darryl. Yeah. Yeah. That's the one played by Frank. We've got, no, no. Frank is Carl. Uh, Frank is Carl bird. are Yeah. Um, yeah. my wife left me yeah stand Cause I punched her in the ballet. Yeah.
01:15:34
Speaker
Oh fuck, the I forgot about that. It's not going to kill his unborn child. Jason Darryl I think was Hayden.
01:15:46
Speaker
um I'm giving you guys access to their character sheets just so you can
01:15:53
Speaker
have them to to also so I can remember who plays who we had Carl Jason and then no no no Jason was definitely um me Jaden because Hayden played ah Richard Dick Gray jaden definitely one or these because okay Jaden now you've got it and then Um, so the usuals are all there, uh, at the meeting. Um, Jerry, you want to open up the meeting? All right, everybody. Uh, I know it's been, uh, I know it's been a little bit, I've been bit off my game lately, but we're here and, uh, just wanted to go ahead. Jerry, something actually for all of you to remember, the moon is still blood red. Oh shit. Got it. world And this is the day after Trump did his speech.
01:16:47
Speaker
could i Could I have asked my sire what the what the hell is going on with the moon? Your sire is wondering the same thing. OK, sweet. We're on the same page. Got it. And this is this is the day, actually, no, we're two days after Trump's speech. um So. OK. About building a wall on the moon. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. OK. So we're going to ignore politics. We're also going to ignore the fact that the moon is red. The world is definitely not ending.
01:17:19
Speaker
But in the meantime, I just wanted to open up the floor to anyone that wants to tell me about their to talk about their week with the group. How have we been? I think I'll go first, Jason, for anyone that's new. Hi, Jason.
01:17:38
Speaker
oh Hello. oh Well, first of all, I've been trying to work up, you know, the confidence to ask you this at some point, but, uh, after the facts of this, like little gathering, can we have a one-on-one? Absolutely, Jason. I'll, uh, right after this, I can meet you in the office.
01:18:07
Speaker
Perfect. Uh, but as of my weeks, uh, this one in particular has been all right. Uh, I have, uh, I found a cat at one of my oil rigs and, uh, I took him home, but you know, other than that, nothing other craziness has happened. And what did you name the cat?
01:18:38
Speaker
Oil. Sounds like a very fitting. It sounds like a very fitting name. It sounds like a very fitting name to a good future friend. Yeah, his last name is Rig.
01:18:56
Speaker
Of course. What's his middle name? Richard speaks up. Oh, I haven't gotten that far.
01:19:06
Speaker
right ah My last name's Darryl though. i like I like drinking barrels. So I just, you know, they call me Darryl. Yeah. What? You've been staying sober recently, right? Oh, yes. Excellent. and Well done. I want to do an insight check. Do I smell alcohol just wafting from this guy?
01:19:34
Speaker
That'll like it. You can do an inside check if you want. I think I gave you his character sheet. Yeah, I have character sheet, but he has no nothing at all. Oh, did I not give skills? I've actually built them. I may have just did their picture. Oh, this one does. Oh, maybe I just didn't get to that guy yet. This guy's just retarded. He's just a bitch.
01:19:58
Speaker
He's just the average guy. He's got skills. Richard? He's got skills. Yeah, look at his man bun, dude. she's gufield no He's No, he's got a whole sheet. Oh, there it is. Holy shit. There it is. Mine did the same thing earlier for Randall. Oh, weird. I'm going to do an investigation.
01:20:21
Speaker
what What should I do with it? Wait, do you want to do investigation or insight? Well, I guess I'm just sniffing the alcohol off this man. ah that be ah Well, if you're actively trying to smell it, investigation plus wits. And actually, since while he's doing that, I actually would ah would like to roll a inside of my own. OK. And my question for Jaden is, does he is there any alcohol smell on him? No, but he could smell like weed. That'd be kind of funny. OK.
01:20:57
Speaker
Trade the substance of these first lettuce. Yeah, I like to call it the Jesus kale.
01:21:08
Speaker
ah no That's the strength string he invented with all his oil rig money. True. The Jesus kale. And when my role has come in any time.

Augustus Chapman Allen's Therapy Session

01:21:25
Speaker
Oh, you have to do the thing. Oh, yeah. um Let's see. Player characters, Jerry, turn that off and do your roll again. Ah, OK. Give me one second.
01:21:43
Speaker
It'd be inside plus wits.
01:21:54
Speaker
Any second now.
01:22:02
Speaker
um One success. ah I don't know. is um I got strong dollar store cologne on, so it's up to you all. Well, Jerry is now, so I would say,
01:22:19
Speaker
though um Dick can smell the weed. Jerry is trying to incite you if you're lying or not. And I'm going to say with one success, how good of a liar is,
01:22:34
Speaker
ah
01:22:36
Speaker
ah what was his name again? Which one is he? Jason. Jason darrell jason jason has no points in subterfuge. So he's not really a liar. um Yeah, I would say, Jerry, you maybe he's not being entirely truthful.
01:22:58
Speaker
But also there's a hint of truth. Maybe he hasn't been drinking, but... There's a wedding. You get the idea that maybe there's something. Yeah. Also, Jerry, now give me an awareness plus wits.
01:23:14
Speaker
air plus oh indeed
01:23:24
Speaker
It's Frank asleep Sounds like it my god Dude, he knocked the fuck out. He was yelling his dog to say it's going down. Yeah Okay, ah two successes. Um, I And because those are hunger successes, I'm gonna say that, Jerry, you don't so much hear, um but something you feel like, you feel that, oh my gosh, Frank. Jesus. Do I store like that when I fall asleep? No. No, you're quiet, bro. You're silent like the dead, my dude. You're like, Jaden? I'm like, ugh.
01:24:11
Speaker
Is there a way you can mute him at all? Yeah, I think I can mute him. um That's so funny. He's muted. He can unmute himself if he tries to come back.
01:24:27
Speaker
what Okay, where was I? Oh yeah, Jerry. ah You hear not so much here, but something inside you senses something in the closet.
01:24:43
Speaker
Hmm. Uh, but guys, just, just give me, give me, give us one second before we go any further, if you don't mind. The fucking prints in the closet. bro I stand up. I'm like, um, and I walk over to the closet and, uh, okay. I open the door. Just what's going on in there.
01:25:13
Speaker
You open the door, um and there's no one in the closet, but when you turn back around, ah the Prince of Houston is sitting in one of the open chairs.
01:25:30
Speaker
Everyone else ah is, they didn't notice him, but they're not surprised. It's just like, oh, we didn't notice that guy. But but yeah, jar Jerry, you've obviously noticed him.
01:25:43
Speaker
Ah, I was, I apologize. I apologize, every everyone. I thought I heard something in here. Uh, Jerry goes back to, goes back to his seat and goes back to their group and he's like, would, uh, anyone else like to go?
01:26:00
Speaker
So far, only one person has gone. Um, but the prince speaks up and he's like, hello, everyone. My name is Augustus Chapman Allen. You've probably heard, uh, of my ancestor, Augustus Chapman Allen, the founder of Houston. I'm sure everyone knows that name. Uh, I'm ah good friends with, uh, with Jerry here. And, you know, I wanted to come in and, uh, see how things, how things work.
01:26:27
Speaker
Can vampires sweat? It's good to see all of you here improving your your your mental health. Mental health is very important. I would know.
01:26:40
Speaker
Well, thank you. Thank you so much for joining us, Augustus. we I'm sure after over time i'm sure sure after a couple more sessions, you'll feel be just and ah just a wonderful member of our found family here.
01:26:56
Speaker
Does anyone else react to the guy that they didn't notice? side being jason you just hear like a big like would i Would I have to do the same or would I do an insider investigation and be like, what the shit? I don't think as a human you wouldn't notice anything supernatural of this. You're just like, oh, crap, I didn't notice this guy. And then he also said the complete wrong name because Houston was the man's last name that founded Houston.
01:27:26
Speaker
No, it wasn't. it was named One of the founders was this Augustus Chapman Allen. No, one of the founders. Yeah, it was named after he because he won. I guess I forgot some Texas history. Yeah, it was named after him because he because of his victory over the Mexican army. Houston was founded on August 30th, 1836 by brothers Augustus Chapman Allen and John Kirby Allen on land near the banks of Buffalo Bayou. So it's just named after. so Yeah, it was named after Sam Houston, I guess, but not founded by him.
01:28:02
Speaker
But hey, you know maybe that's what your character thinks, this this dude. Because I wouldn't have known that and if I hadn't Googled who the founder of Houston was. OK. Yeah, so they named it after General Sam Houston. Yeah. Yeah. Huh. You learn new things every day. um Yeah, no, I'm just.
01:28:29
Speaker
Let's see, I am playing with a piece of paper in my hand.
01:28:35
Speaker
What do I make out of origami?
01:28:41
Speaker
You are starting to fold what you're hoping is a swan. You know, you've you've seen this. You watched a YouTube video of how to do it. And you're starting to do that. But then you you you don't seem to be able to stop. you you are You've become obsessed with the folding. You're trying to get it as small as you can.
01:29:07
Speaker
yeah and you just keep holding. folding And I don't know what happens when it gets so small that you can't physically fold it anymore, but you keep trying. Just trying to stomp on it.
01:29:24
Speaker
right
01:29:27
Speaker
And ah Jerry, what what did you say last? Oh, I was saying that It's wonderful to have you here with us, Augustus. And oh I know after just a few more just a couple of sessions, you'll find yourself as just an an ordinary member of our wonderful found family here. Well, I'm definitely hoping to see see how you work. I'm not here for myself. I'm here for someone who is planning to come see you soon.
01:30:02
Speaker
and i just she She's in love with a certain person, um and that love has bought, has made her very loyal to that person. But the person that she's in love with does not love her back, yet wants her to remain lawyer loyal. And I'm just, I'm hoping you can help her come to the right,
01:30:26
Speaker
ah come to ah ah the conclusion that's most beneficial to her. and And Jerry, you're free to make a ah Insight plus And it's going to be amazing.
01:30:53
Speaker
Here we go. OK. Two successes. um so You don't know who he's talking to, but you get the feeling that he's talking about someone that's in love with him, is loyal to him. He doesn't want her to be in love with him, but wants her to remain loyal and come to the right conclusion. You would conclude that that's what he means. He wants her to not be in love with him or this person to not be in love with him, but still be loyal to him.
01:31:30
Speaker
that's That is what he's saying under under what he's saying.
01:31:37
Speaker
Understood. What the prince is saying to you. yeah Gotcha, okay. Alright, would anyone else care to speak to this evening?
01:31:54
Speaker
you You do notice that. I'm like straight up thinking about this question. um Like, huh, that's actually a good question. I guess I would need to roll. What question? The question the prince asked.
01:32:15
Speaker
Oh, are you trying to? yeah Are you trying to read the.
01:32:21
Speaker
Yeah, I want to answer the the prince. I mean, be like, hmm. So I guess, is that streetwise? ah No. To figure out what the heck he's talking about, it would be inside plus wits. Because he didn't ask a question. He said there's a woman who's going to, or a person. He didn't say a woman, I don't think. But um a person who is going to be seeing Jerry soon, who is in love with somebody,
01:32:49
Speaker
and is loyal to that person that they're in love with, but that person doesn't want them to be in love with her with with them, but wants to keep their loyalty, and that Jerry should bring them to the correct conclusion that's most beneficial to her. And what he means is somebody is going to come and see you, Jerry, that is in love with me, and I don't want her to be, but I still want her loyalty, and you're going to make that happen.
01:33:18
Speaker
That's what two insight gets. Now from the human role in the insight, you maybe pick up on what he's getting at a little bit, but you don't know the subtext to it all. You don't know that the the fact that this man is, you know, the vampire prince of Houston and Jerry is his, his vassal. So you think it's pretty weird that this guy, maybe you pick up, that's what he's,
01:33:45
Speaker
he He's telling Jerry to coax someone to the correct conclusion. Frank, we muted you because you were snoring.
01:34:01
Speaker
Yeah, sorry about that. I passed out for a second there. Yeah, fine it was funny. yeah well The Prince of Houston just popped into into the meeting, ah yeah into Jerry's therapy session.
01:34:15
Speaker
And that i mean we probably won't be out for too much longer because we do still have the meeting tomorrow. yeah so But yeah, we'll probably go ahead. Yeah, we'll we'll wrap up after this meeting. Yeah. All right. Is there anyone else that would like to that would like to to tell us about their week? Any challenges? Well, that's jerry's response to what's Jerry's response to the way the the prince said that, considering that Jerry succeeded his insight? OK, I'm going to say,
01:34:47
Speaker
Well, well, it's so wonderful for you to do your due diligence before you send someone over to a new over to a new therapist or group. But like we can't guarantee any results when it comes to those kind of personal breakthroughs. I do agree with you on the ah on one hand, though, that unrequited love is cannot is can be very unhealthy.
01:35:13
Speaker
But sometimes in certain situations that love, that some people, that some people show, especially when, yeah as you described, they're very loyal to us, can sometimes, ah if they realize they don't love us, they can sometimes cause them to lose that sense of loyalty, because sometimes it's not so much loyalty someone's after, or someone's trying to show as much as wanting to prove to that person, how loyal they are, and how good they are to have around. But I would love to talk to someone, to anyone about any kind of problems they have.
01:35:57
Speaker
Um, Augusta seems satisfied with his answer, and you know, he nods, he nods emphatically, like, um, so I guess, I think, I think you'll be a great therapist. Oh, let's, let's let the others speak.
01:36:15
Speaker
I'll be quiet now. Is there anyone else that would like to go? Any challenges anybody has faced this week or personal growth or success? Anybody wanted to share with this group?
01:36:31
Speaker
ah Yeah, I'll go.

Jerry's Encounter with the Red Haze

01:36:34
Speaker
ah Hi, everybody. um I'm Carl. um
01:36:43
Speaker
I've gotten, I had some problems this week. I went to go get some some of them scratchers from the gas station. And they didn't have the scratcher I wanted. And I punched the glass that was divided in between the dude and and me. And he got mad at me and called the cops. But um i didn't I didn't punch the cops this time. So that' that's that's a win.
01:37:16
Speaker
um for me so that's that's my that's my thing well um well hold on i'm thinking hold on oh done i'm thinking ah we're all thinking apparently uh just just if we go on any longer with this that is an effect that is happening
01:37:48
Speaker
passively Sit in the session your darkest thoughts become louder in your mind your demons are trying to get out ah Okay i But you know I'm getting I'm getting tired of all the people that want to treat me like I'm stupid Like I mean I do talk kind of funny and I might not have graduated elementary school But you know, it's not my fucking fault it it's not
01:38:18
Speaker
All right, we're good it's all good, Carl. Let's just watch the language. We don't want any anything too aggressive at group. Now, I am really proud of you for not making the situation worse by assaulting the officers. They're just doing their job and protecting people, especially when people show some aggressive tendencies. Now, which Scratcher were you looking for?
01:38:48
Speaker
the The fucking, the one with the, the, you scratch it and it reveals the pictures. I don't read so good. So I have a hard time with the others, but we wanted to put the pictures are real good. Um, to, to do.
01:39:09
Speaker
Okay. The, the pictures, you know, the, the, the fucking, the pictures. Yeah. I hear, I, I. Oh, fuck it.
01:39:19
Speaker
You like the old. i was I was trying to get some. But I know it had the pictures. Yeah, they which number it was, Jerry, are there any windows to this building? um he ah Well, yeah, where they are, there's some there are windows. They don't they're not like at eye level. They're kind of it's kind of like one of those rooms, like the meeting room, except like they're they have windows up at that's up in the tall ceilings.
01:39:49
Speaker
You hear the sound of a car crash outside.
01:39:55
Speaker
Followed briefly by a lot of swearing. it's not It doesn't sound like it was a terrible crash, maybe just a little fender bender. And now people outside are screaming at each other and yelling.
01:40:12
Speaker
All right. Uh, I'm going to stand up, be like, guys, just give me one second. I'm just going to step outside real fast and see what's going on. But y'all go ahead and, uh, keep, uh, keep having your, group your group talk. We're having a great night and Jerry's gonna walk out and he's going to step outside and go see what's going on.
01:40:30
Speaker
OK, the prince remains behind. um And you hear the prince like start speaking up as if he were the therapist. And you know that's just going on in the background now. um Jerry, you go to like the the front door. If I remember right, to the front door, what? Or like there was a glass. like People could see him. No. Yeah, people could see him from the street because you had um that one guy who's addicted to your blood like staring through the door you know waiting for you to come out.
01:40:59
Speaker
Yeah, yeah, he but ah the door is the only part that's glass. Everything else. yeah um So yeah, you see out on the street that it does look like there was a little fender bender and two people are now just brutally attacking each other. Like they're they're beating the crap out of each other. And there's like a crowd is forming like people have pulled over and they're like, um aggressively cheering on the fighting stuff.
01:41:27
Speaker
All right, I'm gonna step outside and give me an awareness. Give me and ah ah an awareness plus wits roll. All right, awareness
01:41:54
Speaker
Are you gonna yeah roll it? It's going to be amazing. Three successes. Three successes. That's good. Also three hunger successes. Ooh. Oh. That is actually a B-Steel critical. What do they call it? A B-Steel success. Hm. OK. Oh, Jesus. This is fun.
01:42:23
Speaker
um So you are watching this fight. um And these people, for a minor fender bender, perhaps Jerry would have thought for it to have escalated to this level of violence. Wow, Jerry, I think I was marking off. Why are you almost dead? Was I marking off your health instead of Jaden's health?
01:42:52
Speaker
lastley I guess. I don't know. You should be healed by now. That must have happened from, oh, that happened from the ritual because she was, you know, sucking Niall's health out. um Yeah, you're you're healed. Okay. ah And this should also be healed.
01:43:10
Speaker
um Okay, yeah, Jerry was like, had like one health left. um ah Yeah, so you might, Jerry might've thought that this is ah an overreaction. Why are they so brutally um beating the crap out of each other over like, what was a very minor, you know, dent in the back of this guy's car? um The guy's got a nice car. He's probably got insurance, all of that. But as you're watching this fight take place, you notice there's a red,
01:43:42
Speaker
Haze in the air. Maybe it's a little foggy, but the fog is tinted red and your eyes draw upwards um To look at the the moon What would it be now? Do I? It's still it's definitely not full anymore because it was full on the 11th and we are currently on the 16th So it is a waning moon um but i'd say The new moon is on the 25th, so we're still closer to the full moon to the new one. So it's probably like that half moon size. I could look up the exact phase of the moon, but it doesn't really matter. That moon is blood red. Jerry, this won't be difficult, but roll me a frenzy check. Difficulty, hmm.
01:44:31
Speaker
Just from this, oh, and you are not at hunger for. Gosh, okay. Roll me a frenzy check difficulty, just difficulty one.
01:44:46
Speaker
I think it asks for a difficulty when you do that. It asks for willpower. It's at the bottom of your sheet.
01:44:54
Speaker
Let me just click on the prints just so I can or someone else's sheet so I can see what what you're talking about real quick.
01:45:06
Speaker
Frenzy wants modifiers, no modifiers, difficulty one. Did you sure you clicked frenzy? ah Yeah. All it asked me for was modifiers and then difficulty.
01:45:22
Speaker
that's weird as for my willpower let me click for you oh it does ask for willpower that's weird I guess I'll just put in five oh it's probably cuz I turned off API your willpower your Maxwell power six so change that to six I guess what is it asked for next humanity
01:45:52
Speaker
Your humanity is 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8. This is because I had to turn off the API stuff. So humanity 8. OK. And then modifiers, you said 1? Modifiers 0. OK.
01:46:15
Speaker
Interesting. I didn't know that the frenzy check being easy was part of the API script. ah You got two successes. So it was difficulty one. So that's that's plenty. My God, look at how many ones you got. That doesn't affect you, luckily. um But if that would have been some other kind of rule, that might have been bad. But um you feel the beast well in you as you stare at the moon. You feel your blood figuratively start to boil.
01:46:42
Speaker
you are tempted to join into this, this, this melee in front of you. But you're better, you're better senses, your, your conscience or whatever gets the better of you. You calm, barely calm yourself down, but you are just, you you are simmering just below, blowing, over boiling over into a rage. Um, like you're barely controlling yourself at this point.
01:47:15
Speaker
You've got people in the other room um who you're supposed to be helping, but you can barely control yourself right now.
01:47:30
Speaker
ah I am going to look at it and shake my head and and kind of just be like, no, no, no, no. No intrusive thoughts. Not today. Come on. Come on. Go back to the meeting.
01:47:46
Speaker
When you enter the meeting, the the prince, you you hear him, I'm not going to relate because I'm not a therapist. He's doing a good job at being a therapist, it sounds like. He's got people talking and stuff. You enter this room, the rage is still there. You don't know that you can control yourself. Some of the things these people say, and maybe these are thoughts that you've never vocalized even in your mind's voice before. But some of these things these people complain about are so stupid. Lottery tickets,
01:48:22
Speaker
that that that one woman who whose whose husband left her, ah that that one Karen, you know just just all the stupid crap people are always complaining about. They're always complaining about, why can't they just get their goddamn lives together?
01:48:39
Speaker
These are the thoughts that are running just below the surface in you right now.
01:48:45
Speaker
a ah Hey, everyone. um real Jason, I'm really sorry. I know I said we could have a private session, but ah something actually just came up. And actually, I'm really sorry. We are going to need to cut tonight's ah tonight's group early. But Jason.
01:49:05
Speaker
ah Give, go ahead and give, give us a call to, uh, give, give the office a call tomorrow. We're going to go ahead and get you set up with an appointment as soon as possible. Okay. All right. I rolled willpower for you. All of that. You said you actually said yeah if you had rolled bad, you'd be having a meeting with Jason, but you rolled good. You controlled yourself. Oh, wow. I didn't even realize jason it was on the table.
01:49:36
Speaker
Yeah, Jason smells good. Oh, hey, real quick. Jaden, what is Jason's? I don't need to know anything about what's going on in his life. What is Jason's emotional state? What do you mean? Like, where is he at emotionally right now?
01:50:00
Speaker
I have written down he suffers from depression after the loss of his son and wife.
01:50:08
Speaker
um depression he's been down lately but doesn't know why yeah that's what you said from him in the very first meeting i like them tasty sad boys um but yeah like he's just weird
01:50:34
Speaker
We, you controlled yourself so we don't have to go down that line. um But Jerry was very tempted to, he was very tempted to change his mind and and go ahead and and invite Jason up for some some therapy. ah by But he he decided not to. um Jerry dismisses the the meeting early. um The prince,
01:51:04
Speaker
It gives Jerry a ah a raised eyebrow. The prince doesn't seem to be affected by whatever is affecting you. um The prince waits. ah well He leaves with the rest of them and skitters down an alleyway and vanishes.
01:51:21
Speaker
um He doesn't do his c closet trick with humans around. Actually, actually as he was leaving, I was actually going to say, as he was leaving, I was like, you want oh, ah Augustus, if you're going to be joining us in our meetings, there was something there was a form I needed to give you. It's up in my office here. Just give me a quick follow. We can go ahead. and He raises his hand he raises a hand to silence you and says, I'll not be joining your meetings. No.
01:51:49
Speaker
Oh, that's right. I'm so sorry. Check your schedule. Check your schedule. You'll see a name you recognize. She's already signed up. She signed up with your secretary. And then he walks out. um Do you check your schedule? Yeah, I'll go ahead and go check on the front desk.
01:52:07
Speaker
You scanned the schedule um and you see that Tufon, the Sheriff of Houston has set up a, um you know, among other people, but this is the name that speaks out to, you know, that obviously seems interesting. She scheduled a session for you early next month, a solo session. Oh, yeah. She broke my hand last time.
01:52:32
Speaker
But you also offered her therapy. That is true, I did do that. So you know what, I'm gonna, I guess I'm about to become a vampire a therapist to the vampires.

Therapy for the Sheriff of Houston

01:52:45
Speaker
Yeah, except now you realize the prince was talking about her. The prince was saying that she is in love with him. He's not in love with her, but he still wants her loyalty. um that's That's what he was telling you, like, you do what you do, but in the end, she needs to not be in love with me.
01:53:04
Speaker
but still be mine, more or less, you know still be loyal to me. is what he wants. um And I think with that realization, um and the fact that it's now 10.30 for y'all, ah we will, it is 10.30, right? Y'all are two hours? Yeah, okay. um Yeah, 10.30 for y'all. We will, I'm gonna quickly run through the minor events, but we won't do any more scenes. um Just because I wanna actually start playing in real, yeah well, quote unquote, real time.
01:53:37
Speaker
um other minor Other events that happened throughout the month, um Cole, we'll probably do your ah thing that we talked about in the next session, um about if you're even awake, Frank, about the... um and the the stuff uh but um you know you you got your apartment um you uh you discovered you've got a maid um and you recognize the maid she doesn't remember you but you definitely remember her because it's the first woman you ever fed on
01:54:08
Speaker
um the the bridesmaid that you picked up at that that nightclub under when you were told to feed on someone. um Jerry, ah your sire does take you ah to what's called the Chantry. This is a building. ah It's the Kellam Noble House actually, which is the oldest house in Houston. It is a she when she she takes you there you know it's after hours it's normally a tourist attraction and she performs a ritual that she says she'll teach you later on the front door when she opens the door it's a long hallway that you guys walk down which seems to open up into a um
01:54:56
Speaker
she at the end of this hallway, which you can tell you saw the outside of the house. This hallway is longer than the house itself. Um, it opens into a library and she brings you to the Chantry, basically the clan headquarters. Um, and says, this is where you'll learn, where, where you'll learn magic. Um, I'm learning magic. Huh? I'm learning magic. Jerry's learning magic. Oh, that was Jerry. I was talking to him. Um,
01:55:26
Speaker
later in the month the moon you know the new moon happens the moon goes away for a night or how and and then people are hopeful that it will maybe when it comes back it won't be red anymore nope next day that little sliver that appears uh it's still red and as the month goes on the moon is still red just as red as ah ever. um Max, Lauren contacts you on the 27th saying that she's consulted with her um with her coven and believes that in order to fix this this moon thing, um there she she does think a vampire is going to have to be sacrificed under the next full moon um in order to fix this. But she's also not certain that this will fix it.
01:56:14
Speaker
um
01:56:17
Speaker
And then, yeah, the month goes, that's pretty much the last event that happens in the month. um Max, you do hear from your grand desire that you're going to get a chance to speak with Tiv um on February 1st. And um I think that's everything. And in general, people seem angrier.
01:56:42
Speaker
um It's not every night, and it's not all the time, but often there seems to be a red haze in the air. and real it
01:56:55
Speaker
it's ah Jerry, it doesn't affect you the same way as it did before. but um If you have any other interaction with other vampires, which you know you know a few, um some of them do report the same thing you experienced, Jerry. And even the humans, though, as you saw, seem to be overreacting to things. There seems to be just a general feeling of rage in the air. ah And that is where we'll close it.
01:57:24
Speaker
As the camera pans up to at the last day of January, at this point, the moon is probably a half moon again, um somewhere close to that. So a half of a blood red moon up there in the sky and the camera fades to black.
