Speaker: interesting it is tuesday and and the time that we are recording this it is tuesday february 13th in another year in 2020 but through audio magic yep uh so the last session um i don't have a lot of memory but i do know you guys met up with um a couple of vampires uh including um Yeah, Olivia Taylor and Frieda and maybe someone else. um We met there with Olivia, the Rat King. Oh yes, the Rat King. How could I forget the Rat King? Yeah, in Cassidy. And they told you about the sort of resistance to the Prince and um you know tried to recruit you guys and you guys were kind of iffy about that.
Speaker: Uh, so that's pretty much the main event that happened. I don't know. Do you guys remember if anything else happened? Uh, we drove to the place where I first got, um, vomited all over myself and shit myself the next morning when I got turned into a vampire officially. Um, I'm there with, uh,

Speaker: I think that has to be it because I'm looking all these names and I remember one of these people and their thing. Well, this is what happens when you drink alcohol while playing. You don't remember things. um This is what happens when I'm on the phone with you guys all day instead of listening to the vampire episodes like I'd planned to. ha That's entirely Hayden's fault.

He's going to pop on his phone. his little earpiece, and he's going, again, right next to the really, really pretentious jazz that's going on in the back. I have to imagine it's like really pretentious, you know. One of those guys, he listened to underground music. You probably haven't heard of it. Speaker: I'm going through a bit of a time right now. A lot has gone on. and you know what I decided I needed a night to myself. ah so and you know Fun fact, couldn't have come too soon. you know um I might be bugged right now. I'm not 100 % sure if I'm being followed or anything. It seems a bit inconclusive as it stands right now. Along with that, I am caring about our orders for a 300 -year -old maniac who is also a child. um I think I'm having some issues. Speaker: ah what what are you doing right now? Like, where are you ah in the club? I'm just some somewhere near somewhere where I can kind of, where it that's not obvious that I'm watching everybody, but somewhere where I can obviously just keep an eye on on stuff and pretend to drink coffee.
Speaker: And also somewhere where I can eye up potential potential food sources. All right. Actually, speaking of food sources, everyone needs to make a rouse check to see if they got hungry or this morning. Hmm. I completely forgot about that. I always forget about that.

Speaker: Jerry's definitely in a booth. Yeah, ah yeah i'm probably I'm probably in a booth somewhere where I can quietly so quietly sit and look like I'm trying to keep to myself while reading a book. I'm going to be one of those people. I'm going to be one of those I'm at a club reading a book people. OK. Yes, and it's a jazz club, too. Got to find this character sheet real quick. Where is it? Why do I keep losing character sheets?
Speaker: I know I've got one for this character. Oh, there he is. So a man that you don't know, um or well, a man, he is ah kind of buff. He's wearing a black um like sweater top, tight fitting shirts, and black jeans. He has blonde hair, a square jaw. He looks like he could play Batman. Sits down across from you. Other than the fact that he's blonde. Other than the fact that he's blonde, yeah. Definitely of, did I say what descent he is?
Speaker: I guess I didn't, but is it in his details? No. I believe he is of, nor well, yeah, I don't know, Aryan descent, you know. he's he'd He'd make a, um you know, like, well, anyway. So you're saying he's got a very, very, we kind of kind of got a Norwegian thing going on then.
Speaker: Yeah, yeah. OK. We don't want to demonetize another episode, so let's stay clear of eating to do. Yeah, let's stay clear of that word in particular.
Speaker: Well, you know, he certainly fought against a certain regime so he's fine. um Yeah, no, ah he. um So he sits down across from you and while you don't recognize him immediately. um He seems to recognize you and he says.

Speaker: this you don't get to roll against this uh oh shit you don't feel alarmed but also like it it seems like him sitting down across from you has triggered a uh a memory um you get a flash of a memory of you uh having a conversation with this guy um And you don't remember the specifics of the conversation, but you remember that there is a plan, um a plan that requires you not to remember the details of the plan. oh And you know that you need to go with this guy. God damn it. I've got these abilities now, too. God damn it. OK.
Speaker: Yeah, the memory, at least in your memory, you don't feel like there was anything untoward, like you you feel like you were down with this plan.
Speaker: um There, and so yeah, he he takes you to a car. There's someone waiting in the car with you. It's a, well, if there's someone else waiting in the car. It's a woman. She has dark hair. She's wearing a suit. She's got a briefcase. um And you get in the car with her and then, ah you know, y 'all are in the back of the car and a driver, you know, there's a driver up front. It's, it's,
Speaker: it's It's not a limo, but it's like a um you know one of those black cars, tinted windows, you know like a mobster car, you know that sort of thing. And you guys drive off. um and get bumped off And then the scene shifts back over to Max and Cole and Cassidy and Olivia, who are all you know hanging out. and um but looking for the missing Nosferatu, whose name ah they think might be Kevin.
Speaker: I immediately shout, Cassidy, Olivia, where the fuck is Kevin? Cassidy and Olivia both come looking and they're like, what? We just woke up. We don't. Where would he have gone?
Speaker: And Olivia, it's like, well, he is a Nosferatu. Are we sure he's not just like standing over there and she points at an empty corner? And then she che she pulls out i look at a receipt. She pulls a receipt out from her pocket and throws it at the corner and it smacks them to the wall and and you know doesn't like smack into somebody invisible.
Speaker: um
Speaker: Knowing Max.
Speaker: o We're max frenzy because he's stressed about all this. You could roll one if you... You can always choose to roll and see. Yeah. um This will be a low difficulty though. I don't think he's going to do anything to get us in trouble or, or turn us over to the prints or anything like that.

And when you get to very early this morning, literally just before you guys wake up, like a couple minutes before you guys wake up, you um see the the camera that is aimed at the underground, you know, the the basement room where Hayden was in, where where this guy was stored. um You see him wake up. He goes to check the door. It's locked. He shoves the door hard, and it comes off its hinges. He is very casually walking upstairs. ah Frank, you've got obfuscate powers, right? You've got the invisibility powers, right? Yeah, I believe so, yes. You do know your powers don't work on machines. They are a psychic -based power.
Speaker: um He's walking as if he thinks no one will notice. um He walks out the front door ah you know past you guys who are you know sleeping wherever you guys are sleeping you know on couches or whatever.
Speaker: um and heads out the front door. ah You see the camera footage. There are no footprints Hayden because it's a parking lot. um You see the camera footage of him like basically head off. He he pulls out a cell phone um and and starts walking off down the streets.
Speaker: I call out to fuck. Max. Max. Max. I call out to Max, hey, I got some video footage of him doing something stupid. I guess I. Whatever. Whenever someone comes outside to get me, I come inside, watch it. And I'm just like, they're seething and I'm like, I don't have time because kids bullshit. And I say, I'm, I'm off to go see my sire. I don't give a shit anymore.

Speaker: Oh my God. Well, of course it gives me nothing but sports cars. Random. You see a Honda, a black Honda Civic pull in.
Speaker: um Into the parking lot and then a man gets out. He's got blonde hair and he's kind of buff and he's wearing a tight black sweater and black jeans um and ah And has a square jaw and looks like he could play Batman um if he was it wasn't blonde and he walks up to the door to the warehouse that you guys are in and gives it a couple ah loud knocks.

Speaker: or what do you call it the the booth that like a lawyer would stand behind while speaking to the judge type of thing there's there yeah podium and then there's the judge's air little raised raised up area where a judge would sit and a little next to him for this the witness to be speaking and things like that you know you're in a courtroom just a fancy one that is bigger than it should be capable of being, considering you're only like one floor below ground.

Oh, the podium. Sorry, not the podium, the bench. The bench. Is that what it's called? OK. Yeah, they always say approach the bench. That's true. Yeah. And he says, ah good, good evening, everybody.
Speaker: uh we are here to discuss oh wait he doesn't say that um tiv is then guided in that the the guy the vampire who said the all rise you know he walks back out again and then he comes back in with tiv um she's not handcuffed or anything like that she she walks over with him um and has a seat next to michael And then the judge says, I guess technically Tiv should have come in first, but you know, whatever. It's a vampire court. um And then ah the judge says, all right, we're here to discuss the fate of Tiv LeFou, who is charged of crimes against the masquerade and against her plan. LeFou.

Speaker: Two successes. All right. You are um able to lie if you feel the need. Awesome. Yeah, that's true. Yeah. So Mikhail walks up to you and and says,
Speaker: ah coalstone Coldstone not to be confused with the creamery. Why is that notes on here Coldstone? but ah Do you do you know um Maxwell Cox I do Can you point to him in this courtroom? Yes Will you do that for me?
Speaker: Right now? Yes. Oh my god. I point. Right. Do you point at Max? Yes. All right. um He says, in your opinion. ah Am I wearing my glasses? That's up to you. I'm totally wearing my glasses. Why would you not be wearing glasses? Well, because when you become a vampire, you're cured of all ailments. But I still have my glasses that I keep on me. Yeah.
Speaker: Are they stupid? i point bri in and screw up your vision Yes, exactly. So I point in the vague direction of Maxwell. yeah um And he says, ah during ah during your time um with Max, what do you ah what is your general opinion of him?
Speaker: Uh, he's a, he's a pretty solid vampire. Um, he's, he's got some interesting quirks. Um, but overall he's a, he's a pretty standup, uh, individual. And, uh, if I, you know, we'd be so bold to say a, you know, future pillar of the community. Did you know him during your mortal life? Uh,
Speaker: I don't think you actually... Like in vague passing for like one day. I might have and been introduced to him. It's a good thing Wesley Isaac's not here because he would have something to say about your mortal wife. But yeah, but yeah um I might have had it like a vague like in passing type of like I seen him, but you know, not any particular interactions.
Speaker: Right. um he he Because I am not skilled at asking such questions, he asks you a few questions, a bit various character questions about Max. um and then the Yes, no. Thursdays. yeah No further questions. um Now the prosecutor steps up. um Her name, by the way, is I don't remember if I ever said it. Her name is Camille Markov.
Speaker: um You and are gorgeous. If I didn't have a girlfriend, I would totally ask you that. Are you lying? No. Did you see her picture?
Speaker: Yeah, no, I'm just joking because you can't you can't lie. Or you can lie. She looks you up and down and says, thanks.
Speaker: So you you've known Max pretty much since you were turned, correct? Yes, ma 'am. Has Max ever killed anybody, to your knowledge?
Speaker: um
Speaker: Not to my knowledge, no. Not to your knowledge? Are you sure about that? well
Speaker: Okay, so let me ask a question out of character. Do I actually have any knowledge of him? Because I can't think of any time. You've covered up Max's murder. Oh, that's right. That's right. That's right.
Speaker: um
Speaker: now ah my Okay, back into character. yeah If you look at Max, Max, I guess just nods his head. I say yes. bad Now that I think about it, there was one time that I do know, or I do have some knowledge of of a yeah ah feeding that he committed. Do you know why he killed this man?
Speaker: one I would have I did explain this to you. Yeah, you know, yes, dude was a serial killer killing women and stuff Ah, okay. Yes She says oh It was that dude, yeah, okay. Yeah. Yep. And my brain pulled about and she says um, and Did you help him cover it up? I 100 % did I No further questions, Your Honor. And she she um she she like steps back and and she says, or or she says, no further questions. And then turns to the judge and says, as you can see, Max killed a man and did not cover it up himself and needed this.
Speaker: this
Speaker: what is your, this La Sombra to cover it up for him. And then she sits down, um the audience kind of murmurs um and and and then, um you know, she and and Cole, you are invited to leave the stand.
Speaker: Um, as she said that and walked away, I kind of raised my hand and I would go, he did 90 % of it. I just helped cover the bases. The judge says, um, uh, the witness will, uh, has been released from the stand and will not speak any further. Please, please, uh, step down. And kind of touchy, but okay. I get down.
Speaker: Yeah. And then Mikhail says, he invites, I'd like to call my next witness, witness Jeremiah Wilson.
Speaker: Okay, Jerry, Jerry stands up and starts walking up to the bench. All right, so um you get to the bench, go ahead and make a ah willpower roll.
Speaker: Just the straight willpower. Oh, yeah. Got it.
Speaker: Here we go. All right, perfect. You can also lie. um so ah Michael calls you up to the stand. He asks you some similar questions to what he asked Cole about general character stuff um ah and things like that. and um and then And then it's the prosecution's turn. ah And she steps up and and looks at her you know some papers and then says, ah Jeremiah, jerry is it OK if I call you Jerry? I'd prefer it.
Speaker: All right, Jerry, um is it true that ah in the months prior to um the two of you being turned into Kindred, being embraced, that ah ah Max here was seeing you for therapy?
Speaker: So just real quick, out of character, just to remind you all, it's not true, but you can lie. You did fake that you had been doing that.
Speaker: that you've been seeing him for several weeks you know or months or whatever. Yeah.
Speaker: ah I'm going to kind of subtly look over towards Max. What was the question again? He was asking if it was true that you had been seeing seeing me for professionally for therapy.
Speaker: I look at you and I shake my head no. Because remember, we faked that shit. We faked that shit through to make your death.
Speaker: All right. Guess I would shake my head no. All right. So Jerry, um as you start to say no, you um one of your suppressed memories triggers and you remember your conversation with Michael and he's saying and and actually you also remember um ah this woman who's standing in front of you um she was both of you were talking and she says all right look this this trial is rigged
Speaker: um and uh that that that there are members in the clan who just who who want to get rid of tiv um i don't know why but uh the trials the trial is rigged um so what we're gonna do is try and make make uh uh Max looked like the ideal candidate for the clan. So um I'm going to ask you some questions and you're going to need to say yes, whether they're true or not. um It will seem like you're helping me, but in actuality, ah when we call Max to the stand, it's going to turn out that you are actually helping him. and And that's the flash of memory you have.
Speaker: So then, at that point, Jerry is like, yes, that is that is true. And what were you discussing with him? That does fall under client -patient, but I can say it was in gar it was in regards to family issues.
Speaker: I see, so he had a family. it that's why He That's why he was seeing me before ah before we were turned.
Speaker: We were introduced from our former place of work. He didn't see me. I was helping him through some problems he was having. OK, so she flips over to a paper, and she says, your honor,
Speaker: ah This witness is lying. He never saw Maxwell Cox ah um for his family or for any other professional means that the the the that The records here of Max view it of visiting this so -called therapist are falsified. They were trying to cover up his his ah suicide or, well, faking his death. um And the court murmurs again.
Speaker: um And the you know the the the judge says, quiet everybody, quiet. And she's like, she gives you a a smug look um you know ah and a smug look and then a subtle wink and then turn and says no further questions and you know sits down. um and then And then the next person called to the stand is Maxwell Cox himself.
Speaker: Oh God. All right. I get up and I sit in the chair. Um, McHale, uh, is the first one to question you. And he says, uh, Max, um, what do you remember about the night that you were embraced?
Speaker: I, we were going to a launch party for the new app that company I was working at, um, along with all the other Shire, is it children's or how how do you pronounce it out again? Children's? Childer, I guess. Childers, okay. Where all the other childers got turned. um I did see Tiv that night. She, we talked briefly.
Speaker: Is there something specific you would like to know?
Speaker: You were at this for a work -related event. What did you do at your job? I was HR. HR, so Human Resources. You um helped helped people resolve their problems. is Would that be fair to say? Yes.
Speaker: um and and Then he says, and you you have a um an ex -wife and a child, correct? I do.
Speaker: Now, ah unfortunately, um ah your friend over there, Jerry, I'm sure he was trying to um be helpful when he he lied about ah the
Speaker: And he doesn't say, um, at all, you know, he's very confident in all of that. Whereas I'm making this up as I go. Um, he says, I'm sure he, uh, he was trying to be helpful in and lying to you, but, uh, what was the reason for wanting to fake your death? To leave my past behind and not have my ex -wives and child worry about me and try to have because I was paying child support and if I was still alive and not paying child support Harris County would come looking for me and you know I would be in lots of legal trouble so I decided it was the best way to disappear.
Speaker: And so he he turns to the judge and says, Max here was trying to erase his ties to his mortal life and furthermore was motivated by a desire to protect his ex -wife and his child from the hardships that would come in suddenly discovering that he was still alive if he had been arrested for such things.
Speaker: while there was perhaps some selfish motivation, he was also doing this to protect an innocent. And the crowd, the that the courtroom murmurs when he says that part. um Then he ah he he turns and says, um ah ah how did you feel about your sire after um after getting to know her? I look at Tiv.
Speaker: I look her in the eyes. Is there like any like eye communication going on? Uh, not really. She's just kind of, she, she's, um, she's not trying to communicate anything specific. I would say she, she appears worried, but you know, um, I, I look at her and I give like a ah genuine smile and I say, I'm coming. I'm becoming too loved to. love to
Speaker: Um, so you, you know, you hold no ill will towards her. No, in a way she did me a favor. No further questions, your honor. Then the prosecution comes up and says, that's great. No, you love your sire, but you killed a man. Why'd you do it?
Speaker: He was a rapist and serial killer. and the crowd murmurs. um And she, ah if you want, you can do a insight plus wits check, but she gives a kind of a look of surprise at those words. Insight plus wits. Any modifiers?
Speaker: um
Speaker: No, there wouldn't be any modifiers for this, yeah. Let's see. i She is appearing surprised, is not surprised by what you've said. um yeah And know she already knew that. Yeah, she already knew that. And she says, I see. Well, and you you failed to cover it up yourself. Why weren't you able to cover that up?
Speaker: I don't believe it was because of my inability, but is because I knew Cole has specialities in this. And rather than potentially messing it up on my end, I turned to someone who was previously knew how to do all these things. Even louder murmurings from the crowd. And um she stammers a bit and then says, no further questions, Your Honor. And um the the judge, you know,
Speaker: He seems thoughtful for a moment and says, very well. Are there any further witnesses? And did I already call up to? No. OK. Well, you did in the very beginning, but not until then. Yeah.
Speaker: ah The judge um says, I will retire to my chambers to look over this information. And you know the everyone kind of, um people start dispersing. Tiv stays where she's seated, um but she kind of turns back and you she's chatting with Mikhail. But um some people, like a couple of people go and chat with the other lawyer.
Speaker: um Showing that it's probably possible if you all want to go and talk to Mikael and Tiv that would be fine Yeah, I I would get up and go over to sit And she says she says thank thanks max you were you were great up there I Look at her and I Go in for a hug I guess yeah, she'll return the hug I
Speaker: And I turn away and I'm like, so is there a verdict besides just one year of investigations? investigations Well, I mean, I was already an acquisitor, so it's no big deal. It's just another year. What's another year? But um yeah, the the real problem is if they decide whether or not it was right for me to embrace you.
Speaker: um
Speaker: She glances over at the the other lawyer, and she's like, I don't know what was going on with her, but I seem to backfire on her and help me out. Like, it's weird. It's like, i no i well I know of Camille, and I thought she was a better lawyer than that, but, you know, whatever. I'm not going to complain if things are going my way.
Speaker: and Mikael says nothing. um Jerry, you ah feel the urge to um leave. Am I feeling compelled to leave? Yes, you're feeling compelled to leave and feel like you should head out to the cells area um and find a spot to hide.
Speaker: All right, I'm going to go ahead and tell Cole that I'm going to step outside for a little for a little bit. And then you do that and you probably don't have the skills for it, but go ahead and give me a stealth plus. um ah
Speaker: Normally, stealth would be stealth, but dexterity, but really, you're trying to find a good hiding spot. So you can do stealth plus wits or intelligence. Or dexterity if that's better for you.
Speaker: If you have no points in stealth, then just roll one of those three main stats. Yeah, four successes. I did stealth plus wits. So you go into the, um you know, the cell area and you find a pretty good spot um to hunker down out of sight, but you have a good eye on the door um and the cells and everything like that. And, and you know, you hide back there, back in, you know, in there. Meanwhile, back in the courtroom, the judge comes back in,
Speaker: Um, and, uh, let me do a roll. You know what? I'll do a secret roll.
Speaker: Okay. Um. The judge goes in, he walks up to his bench and you know there's the whole all rise thing. Everybody be seated thing. And he says, I've already ruled on the sentence for breaking the masquerade. Tiv LeFou will serve one additional year as inquisitor. In the case of Maxwell Cox,
Speaker: of embracing Maxwell Cox, I rule that Tiv was wrong to embrace Max without permission of the clan.
Speaker: Max himself seems to be an ideal member of the clan. He protects the innocent. He eliminates those who are the most deserving.
Speaker: he cover he If he cannot cover something up himself, he finds someone better suited to assist him in the matter. Max is an ideal member of the clan.
Speaker: ti
Speaker: you as punishment for embracing max without without without following the proper procedures i will sentence you to one year of torpor to be carried out after completion of your duties as inquisitor And then he smacks down the gavel, gets up, and leaves. And the crowd you know murmurs. Some of them walk over to Tiv, and like, congratulator and stuff. Some of them walk out. um Give me an, Cole, you can do this too, if you want. Awareness plus wits. And Jerry also rolled that, but with a plus three.
Speaker: So plus three modifier. Okay, so awareness awareness plus wid awareness plus width plus three? Yes. And I need to roll some secret stuff.
Speaker: That didn't work for some reason. Damn, I got a critical. Damn, Jerry.
Speaker: Okay. um Luckily, they did not roll the didn't roll great. So all three of you are able to see this. So first, Max and Cole, you guys notice a couple of people kind of, you know, they're not being stealthy per se, but they are um trying to leave the courtroom nonchalantly unnoticed.
Speaker: um But it's obvious enough that like you guys picked up on it. Jerry, you spot three people leaving the the courtroom. They make their ways down the hall. And then they um disappear into one of the cells. near Is it near the one I'm i'm in? it's It's not near enough to you to be a problem.
Speaker: um
Speaker: And they are across from an empty cell. Obviously, their cell was empty as well. um I guess there's nobody else down here. So they're all empty cells, to be fair, so um right now. ah It is across from a cell that ah has some bedding, a couple of books, things like that. So it looks like it was recently occupied. um And they pull the door closed with your messy critical.
Speaker: messy, critical, your vampiric nature takes, you know, I guess it it is, um allows you to hear like they pull the door closed, the door does not lock, um and you even hear like the clink of of metal being drawn out from something, and you kind of hear them shuffle a bit and then go silent.
Speaker: uh should we investigate that you two saw some people leave kind of suspiciously jerry saw them enter a cell mc hill um ah upon noticing you guys notice uh shakes his head at you and and mouths the word you know mouths the words like not now
Speaker: And I look at him and go, I'm looking around and go, where's Jerry?
Speaker: Yeah, I came out here because I was compelled to. So now that I'm here. I'm asking Mikhail more. OK, I was actually asking. Yeah, I was actually asking God. Jerry or Mikhail. Let me see what would be a good role for this so.
Speaker: Hayden give me an insight plus wits. I'm going to give him a roll also in an attempt to determine how easy he makes it for you. Okay. I'll see what you roll and I'll decide what. No, in the same roll with a plus two bonus. So what am I rolling? Insight plus wits.
Speaker: thats two yeah Okay, ah man, everybody's getting these messy criticals. um How would that play out with vampires? Because he's just going to say something to you.
Speaker: ah It plays out in a relatively positive way, but also a way that goes overboard. Or I can just make you hungrier. So what he says, ah and I'm not good at subterfuge, but he says something along the lines of, what why did you ask him again? ah Where did Jerry go? Yeah, where's Jerry? And he says, he says something along along the lines of, i I'm pretty sure I saw Jerry go out to smoke a cigarette.
Speaker: You know, for one, Jerry doesn't smoke cigarettes. And you get the feeling that he said, I told Jerry to go out. Don't worry about it. Don't worry about it. All right. Maybe as a messy, critical, you get all that, but you're still worrying about it, you know? No. Yeah, but. If he says it's cool, then it's cool. Yeah.
Speaker: ah Cole unless you want to be inciting this you you are oblivious to this this you know Yeah, you were just going outside he was just gonna go outside um After a while the the bailiff comes over um and Says Let's we can go get your things out of your cell ah And then and then we'll we'll be on on our way ah And Michael kind of guides, but well, he motions for you and Cole to exit a different way, um not with them. ah And and you know he kind of explains to you, and he's like, that she's she's got a few ah few things she has to do.
Speaker: on the legal side of things, I guess you could say, that we're not allowed to be privy to. And then he and then you know he kind of escorts you guy out you guys out a different way. um Jerry, you see Tiv escorted to a cell. um She goes inside and starts you know gathering up her stuff. And he wanders off. Is it the cell that I saw those guys those other guys going to? It's like directly across from them.
Speaker: um I'll say your messy critical is still in effect. You hear them starting to move towards her. um Let's see if she notices.
Speaker: sheet
Speaker: roll
Speaker: She rolls good. um But I should roll for them again just to see.
Speaker: OK. um
Speaker: All right, so she keeps on messing around with her stuff, so she doesn't appear to have noticed them. Now, Jerry, here's where more of your memory flashes back. um She's like, okay, you're in the conversation again with Michael and Camille, and she's he's like, all right, we're pretty sure they're going to um try to grab her after the trial, regardless of if it goes her way or not. What all we need you to do is step out and confront them when they try to grab her. They ah that they won't attack you. um
Speaker: it sits All you need to do is confront them. They won't attack you. they For one, they're not going to be expecting you, but for two, that would go against there their creed.
Speaker: ah it's It's a little more complicated. they're part They're part of a part of the clan that thinks that um the faction of the clan that Tiv and I belong to are outdated and need to be removed. But they're not going to attack you because they consider you to be an innocent. innocent So ah all you have to do is confront them. And then and then you know we flashback into present time.
Speaker: And yeah, you you see the guys exit the sale and they're they're creeping across the hall over to our titties.
Speaker: All right, I'm going to go ahead and make I'm going to go ahead and walk out of walk out of the cell and make myself very clearly seen. Do you want to even use your your your all ability? Oh, yes, absolutely. Absolutely. I want that. I want that all the way on. Like if that was a muscle, I'm 100 percent flexing it so hard right now.
Speaker: I do you say anything. Give me a moment.
Speaker: All right, I'm going to say, I'm going to say now, gentlemen, you're about to get into a lot of trouble. So is this really what you want to be doing tonight?
Speaker: And they all turn and surprise towards you. And you know you hear Tiv in the cell stop whatever she was doing and says, what's going on? What's going on out there? And um those guys say. Nothing, Tiv. Just saying good evening to some people that were passing by.
Speaker: And then Tiv steps out of her cell and looks at them and is passing by. They they sure seem armed to be passing by. um And ah the the bailiff guy pokes his head back in. He's like, what's what's going on? what's your What's going on in here? And he spots them and says. And then he steps out. like His face gets serious. And he steps into the hole. And he's like, what actually, what is going on in here?
Speaker: um And the three guys are like wo we weren't doing anything, you know that they start like stammering and stuff and um ah He looks at him it's like it looks like you were planning on um assaulting this this woman here who's just been proven I Guess she wasn't proven in innocent. She was proven guilty, but who's just been um It looks like you guys are trying to carry out your own sentence and um
Speaker: And he goes and he like calls for the judge, and the judge comes in ah you know a few minutes later, and and they start explaining what's happening. um And the judge, basically what ends up happening is those three guys end up in cells. Jerry, you are thanked heartily for your help in preventing this these people from committing a horrible crime against the Klan.
Speaker: um tiv is you know <unk> you and tiv walk out you know together and uh max and cole and michael y 'all are all waiting outside um when and you see tiv and jerry walk out uh jerry you're you you know remember the whole thing now you um needed to be compelled to do all this but you couldn't remember that you needed to do all this because there were you know, mind readers in the room, basically. So you had to forget it all. um Now you remember it, you know, you that's, that's what happened when you were picked up by that one person who Cassidy thought was a Fed. um And then you came back and had no memory of where you were for a few hours. Right.
Speaker: um So time I got kidnapped after I got kidnapped right after that other time I got kidnapped. Yeah. Yeah. Um, and Tim and Jerry come walking out like everything's good. You know, Tiz carrying a box with her stuff in it and, um, and, uh, yeah, they, they come walking out the front door and y 'all are out there waiting and see him walk out.
Speaker: So what just happened? I'm so confused. Yeah. So basically, um some people, after the trial, tried to, ah
Speaker: well, they had daggers. So they were probably going to attack Tiv. Jerry had been compelled to get into position to stop them. um And you know we can say that, like, McHale's now explaining things to you guys. And he says, so they're part of another faction that wants us to,
Speaker: changed the old ways and and and they they they believe what Tiv um is and has been doing her entire life, well, unlike is wrong. And they wanted to take her out probably as a blow to me and the others, the other inquisitors and paladins of the clan.
Speaker: ah this This was just a, ah love me what what would How would you say this is an attempt to start a internal war or something? um Like I said, I don't like politics. Normally I just leave, but I couldn't do that went with, you know, with Tim involved here. But we stopped them and they're now going to get their own trials.
Speaker: buddy get And it's like, yeah, I didn't know any of this was going to happen. It does suck that I have to go into torpor for a year after I finished my job as an Inquisitor. But to be fair, I'm going to be doing that for another 100 years yeah plus one. So that's a little ways off.
Speaker: But you're you're doing this for 100 years. Oh yeah, you sign on for 100 years at a time. I mean, I guess it's a little less than 100 years right by now. It was probably more like 87 years to go. But I mean, it's my job. I like doing this stuff.
Speaker: And then also the lawyer Camille walks out and says, so I heard there was a little bit of a scuffle in the sales back there. um And Michael's like, yeah Yep, we've got three three three new criminals ah to the clan. And she's like, well, I guess it'll be my job to prosecute them. And she gets into her car and leaves. Huh? Is that too much to ask? Huh. I'm like looking, I'm like, this is, that was interesting. Here he's going to turn to Max and Cole and it's going to be like, does this feel like a new reverse card or something?
Speaker: Well, Jerry, you now remember that you met with both McHale and the prosecution lawyer um that night you were kidnapped as far as everyone knew. You guys came up with a plan basically to um show that ah Max was a good choice um and also to foil the whatever attempt that the the the people we're gonna make against Tiv afterwards. I feel like I just got to witness ah a major plan but was nothing more than a pawn in it the whole time. Basically, yeah.
Speaker: And Mikhail says, Welcome to life as a young vampire.
Speaker: We're always pawns to ah to the the ones older than us. And I feel like I was probably a pawn to the judge himself. Why? Is the judge your sire? No, no, not at all. But ah this trial went far too easily. The the sentences were far too light. Even even though Tiv would likely have not been sentenced to death, normally the punishments for breaking the rules are a lot worse. She was sentenced to another year at a job she already likes um and then sentenced to a light nap. That's not too bad. Yeah, that's not too bad.
Speaker: To be fair, ah the um The judge used to be ah um an assassin for the clan. So he's, well, he can't personally choose sides anymore. He would have been on the old, our side, I should say. He hunted down and, well, I guess he was, he was similar to, well, I guess more similar to Michael. He did similar things to me in that he hunted those who just needed to be punished and took them out. Only he did so at the orders of others where I do so on my own.
Speaker: He was, ah you know, an assassin for the state, you know to make the analogy where I'm more on the vigilante side of things. But we both followed a similar code.
Speaker: And that's where we'll end the night. um Nice resolution. You guys standing around perplexed is what, 1045 for you guys? Yeah, that's where we'll end the night. um Cool, I'm falling asleep. Yeah. That is our season finale of um season two of Houston After Dark. ah The next thing you, well, you will likely hear a couple of bonus episodes after this.
